So, this Washington Redskins and other sport team mascot thing got me thinking. If I was a minority (where I live, it is not a stretch), how would I feel that a sport team was using my race's likeness as the basis for their mascot? Answer, flattered. So, the skin color is the only issue. Would I be insulted if they used such derogatory terms as: Pale Face, Whitey, Honkey, or even Cracker? I can honestly say I wouldn't care.....at all.
In fact, if coupled with some honorable mascots images, I'd be damned proud to root for:

There are Real issues out there that need fixing, this isn't one of them.
The Native American community and all other races offended should remind themselves that the organizations chose their likenesses because they possess the image of someone they aspire to be.
They should be honored......or do you really want to replace them with a bunch of white people's faces?
That would of course be racist.
