If Donald Trump is the best we, as Conservatives, Republicans, Tea Partiers or Teapublicans can up with as a candidate for the presidency…we have set the bar far, FAR too low…in fact…we have made that bar subterranean as that is where moles reside.
As Conservatives, we have for years demanded a candidate that has a long record OF conservatism but does Trump possess such a record?
No, he does not.
Donald Trump has changed his voter registration, from one political party to another, over and over again. When asked, point blank in last Thursday’s prime time debate, “When exactly did you become a Republican?” Trump responded by NOT responding at all. He gave a shrug and a smirk and changed the subject, refusing to answer a direct question.
Is that what we want from a candidate for president?
No…no it is not.
As Conservatives, we have always vetted a candidate’s voting record. We have always looked for a candidate who consistently votes Conservative.
Is THAT what we find in Donald Trump’s voting record?

KASICH IS MY GOV . I'M NOT HAPPY WITH HIM ! HE IS FOR COMMON CORE AND HE TOLD US HE WOULD NOT GET RID OF IT EVEN IF WE WANT IT OUT !! THEN MEDICAIDE . HE IS FOR ILLEGALS . I DON'T KNOW ABOUT WHAT HE THINKS ON CUTTING S.S. I THINK HE WILL GO ALONG WITH DC .
CARLY FIORINA I THINK HAS HIDDEN BAGGAGE WE NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT HER . HER 2001 SPEECH IN MINNESOTA SAYS SHE IS FOR MUSLIM ! THEN THERE IS HER ASSOCIATION WITH HEWLETT PACKARD == LOSS OF LARGE AMOUNT OF MONEY AND THEY FIRED HER .
Karma-- I hear ya. And give Trump his due-- he did give a long overdue voice to frustrations other "Republicans" have been trying hard to silence for 30-something years, particularly on immigration.
Yes, Donald Trump generated excitement. He did so by capturing our imagination. Then he stepped in it. Not with a slip of the tongue, or a malaprop, or even a moment of brain-freeze like the one tanking Rick Perry three years ago. He revealed a dose of simmering pent up anger at women, and anyone else daring to assume common ground with him in Donald-land. He exposed an ego taller than Trump Tower.
By dodging most of the questions, he demonstrated an abundance of political passion but little political savvy. Yes, he's no politician, so all the more refreshing. But the problem with Donald Trump isn't what he isn't, it's what he IS, an angry, self-absorbed narcissistic troll. With that kind of baggage, he's hardly equal to the task of President.
As for me, I like Scott Walker. Admittedly his delivery is disappointing so far. But Walker doesn't just wax conservative, he has successfully implemented fiscally conservative policies in a state largely blue, Wisconsin. John Kasich might have picked my interest too had he not moved on Medicaid expansion in Ohio. Carly Fiorina grabbed my attention last week, but she's a long shot with a long road to haul for name recognition.
It's early, so my options are open. But I'm no longer interested in Donald Trump.
IF NOT TRUMP THEN WHO !! AS FAR AS I SEE WE DON'T HAVE ANYTHING ELSE BUT CORRUPT POLITICIANS TO PICK FROM AND WE KNOW WHERE THAT HAS GOTTEN US !!!!
You're absolutely right, Craig. And his no-response 'response' to, "When exactly did you become a Republican?" was typical of the way he answered almost every other question Thursday night, one smirk at a time.
Desperate for redemption, die-hard Trump-grumps have been slobbering all over the internet, seemingly bent on editing history.
Megyn Kelly can hold her own; The Don's own army of flustered supporters are the ones he's burned the worst. But try telling them that.
