{thepoliticalinsider.com} ~ It’s not often we get to say President Donald Trump earned rave reviews for anything – but Trump earned near-universal praise for his State of the Union speech Tuesday evening... Despite a media that will no doubt quibble over every word and phrase, and even revise their take and the general feeling of the American people days afterward, Trump earned high marks for the speech before Congress. The address earned ovation after ovation from his Republican colleagues but was probably most notable for actually getting Nancy Pulosi to applaud several times, for Democrat women standing up and celebrating the successes of their gender under this administration, and even an off-script moment where the entire chamber sang Happy Birthday to a Holocaust survivor, conducted by the President himself. The President is bound to get a major bump in approval coming out of this and as we head for another showdown over budgets and the border wall late next week. A CBS News poll indicated that 76 percent of Americans approved of the speech. And with that border-wall fight lingering, Democrats will be most dismayed to learn that a staggering 72 percent agreed with the President’s ideas to tackle legal and illegal immigration....

{jpost.com} ~ Iran warned Israel on Tuesday of a "firm and appropriate" response if it continued attacking targets in Syria... where Tehran has backed President Bashar Assad and his forces in their nearly eight-year war against rebels and militants. Israel, which views Iran as its biggest security threat, has repeatedly attacked Iranian targets and those of allied militia in Syria. With an election looming in April, Israel has been increasingly open about carrying out its air strikes. In a meeting with Syria's Foreign Minister Walid al-Moalem in Tehran, the secretary of Iran's National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said the Israeli attacks violated Syria's territorial integrity and were "unacceptable". "If these actions continue, we will activate some calculated measures as a deterrent and as a firm and appropriate response to teach a lesson to the criminal and lying rulers of Israel," Shamkhani was quoted as saying by Fars news agency. {dailycaller.com} ~ host Rachel Maddow and California Rep. scumbag-Adam Schiff were discussing the latest breakthrough in the Trump Tower meeting last Thursday... but they conveniently failed to acknowledge what the new report says and how it impacts scumbag-Schiff’s theory. The Senate Intelligence Committee obtained phone records showing Donald Trump Jr. did not speak to then-candidate Donald Trump from a blocked telephone number in the days leading up to that meeting, CNN first reported. This new information contradicts scumbag-Schiff’s theory, which is also held by many other Democrats, that Trump Jr. was in contact with his father about the meeting with Russians who had offered dirt on scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton. Despite this new information, neither Maddow nor scumbag-Schiff actually acknowledged the revelations with it, only that a report came out....

U.S. Pulls Out of INF Treatyby National Security Desk: President Donald Trump announced on Friday that the U.S. will withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) missile treaty it formed with the former Soviet Union and subsequent Russian Federation in 1987. The reason for the decision, Trump noted, was due to the fact that Russia had failed to uphold its end of the bargain. “We cannot be the only country in the world unilaterally bound by this treaty, or any other,” Trump declared.
He further added, “For arms control to effectively contribute to national security, all parties must faithfully implement their obligations. We stand ready to engage with Russia on arms control negotiations that meet these criteria, and, importantly, once that is done, develop, perhaps for the first time ever, an outstanding relationship on economic, trade, political and military levels. This would be a fantastic thing for Russia and the United States, and would also be great for the world.”
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo explained, “We provided Russia an ample window of time to mend its ways and for Russia to honor its commitment. Tomorrow that time runs out.” On Saturday, the U.S. formally notified Moscow that it is in “material breach” of the INF treaty and announced our withdrawal. Pompeo further noted that our NATO allies have “stood with us in our mission to uphold the rule of law and protect our people.”
This decision has been a long time coming, as the U.S. first accused Russia of failing to live up to the agreement in 2014 and has subsequently attempted 35 times to diplomatically encourage Moscow’s compliance — to no avail. So much for “collusion.” ~The Patriot Post
