While DACA recipients were illegally brought to the United States by their parents when they were children, the minimum age to apply for the program is 15 years old. In fact, the majority of the applicants were over the age of 20 based on 2014 data from the US government. Some have estimated that the average age of dreamers is 25 or 26 years old–hardly children. . It figures that those who call themselves progressives would be up in arms over Donald Trump’s granting Maricopa County’s longtime sheriff, Joe Arpaio, a presidential pardon. But, then, when are those yahoos not up in arms?
It didn’t seem to bother them in the least when on his way out of the White House in 2001, liar-Bill Clinton granted fugitive financier Marc Rich a pardon in exchange for a million-dollar campaign contribution, or when Barack liar-nObama pardoned Oscar Lopez Rivera, a bomb-making terrorist affiliated with the Puerto Rican FALN (Fuerzas Aramadas de Liberacion Nacional).
But when it came to a sheriff whose biggest sin was that he was an absolute zealot when it came to enforcing America’s federal immigration laws, the leftists have been carrying on as if he’s the living embodiment of Vlad the Impaler. And, as usual, it’s not just the leftists who have attacked Trump’s decision. As you might expect, House Speaker Paul Ryan, whose boyish demeanor barely conceals his political hypocrisy, was among the first of the yahoos to voice his displeasure.
Although you’d never know it -- judging by the amount of moral outrage emanating from the deplorables who infest the media and both sides of the congressional aisle -- the truth is that Arpaio wasn’t even convicted of a felony. The pardon was for a misdemeanor that carried at most a six-month sentence. But, as President Trump and most reasonable people understood, at the age of 85, even six months might have constituted a life sentence for Sheriff Joe.
● At times, a lot of us have looked across the world and wished we had someone with the mettle of a Margaret Thatcher or a Bibi Netanyahu in the White House. It now appears that some of the staunchest defenders of liberty and commonsense are to be found in Eastern Europe.
It was Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban who recently delivered a speech in Romania titled “Will Europe Belong to Europeans?”
He expressed grave concern over whether a Christian Europe would be over-run by Muslims. He placed the blame for the Islamization of the continent on “the so-called Christian Democrat parties in Europe, which have become increasingly un-Christian.”
He went on to identify the source of the contamination as George Soros, the multibillionaire who has spent a fortune financing a host of radical groups on both sides of the Atlantic.
Orban went on to describe an alliance that has been forged between Brussels, the de facto capital of the European Union controlled by a group of bureaucratic elitists dedicated to globalism, and George Soros.
Even in the U.S., Soros remains a shadowy figure who prefers to remain cloaked in darkness while financing anarchists, communists, black and Hispanic racists, and just about any other group of people who despise America as much as he does.
Soros, like Viktor Orban, was Hungarian. In his teens, although born a Jew, he collaborated with the Nazis. Although I’m not a psychiatrist, I think I am every bit as qualified as the professionals who are always ready to psychoanalyze Donald Trump, to declare that Soros is a victim of what has come to be known as the Stockholm Syndrome. In his case, I’d call it the Budapest Syndrome.
The Syndrome first came to light in the wake of a prolonged bank robbery in Stockholm, when it was discovered that many of the hostages had come to identify with the criminals, not with those who eventually rescued them.
I assume it came about when the victims recognized their utter dependency on those who had the power to kill them at any moment and for any reason. Therefore, every second they remained alive was another second in which their gratitude for remaining alive increased.
Patty Hearst was a classic example. She even joined her captors in robbing banks.
In the case of Soros, at an impressionable age, he saw the Nazis as the supermen they claimed to be. At the same time, he saw Gypsies, Catholics, homosexuals and his fellow Jews, being herded like so many cows and sheep into cattle cars and being taken off to be slaughtered. The die was cast. Soros was determined to be a butcher, not a side of beef.
And a butcher he has remained.
In concluding his speech, Prime Minister Orban said: “In the future, we will have to stand our ground against Soros’s mafia and the Brussels bureaucrats, and the media operated by them,” and that under his leadership, Hungary would remain a place where “Western European Christians will always be able to find security.”
In a recent article, I said that George Soros reminded me of Dr. No, Auric Goldfinger and some of the other super villains invented by Ian Fleming. The tragedy is that while Mr. Soros isn’t a fictional character, James Bond is.
● In the meantime, according to a piece in the August issue of The New American, the U.N. is plotting to exploit Artificial Intelligence (AI) to further its globalist agenda.
At a summit held in Geneva, the stated goal of the gathering was to “accelerate and advance the development and democratization of AI solutions that can address specific global challenges related to poverty, hunger, health, education, the environment, and others.”
Among the participants were “top UN bureaucrats, communist operatives, as well as representatives of increasingly anti-liberty technology mega-companies such as Google, Facebook and Microsoft.”
As the magazine concludes: “The simplest way to prevent such an Orwellian nightmare is for the U.S. government to withdraw from the U.N. using the American Sovereignty Restoration Act (H.R. 193).”
Although Nikki Haley is a fine ambassador to the U.N., as was John Bolton, the fact remains that the U.N. is mainly comprised of Islamist states, secular dictatorships and a bunch of nations you’ve never heard of, that share a basic belief; namely, that the United States and Israel are the two most evil nations on earth.
In what other organization would veto powers be granted to the likes of Russia and China? And in what other organization would one of the two most openly despised members continue to contribute 25% of the operating expenses?
Years ago, citizen Trump said that the United Nations should be evicted from New York, and he offered to buy the land and turn the space into a 5-star hotel. I believed that was the Trump I was helping to get elected. My view of the U.N. hasn’t changed. I wonder why his has.
