More Gruber Hubris: liar-nObamaCare 'Working as
Designed'
Michael Swartz: The last time liar-nObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber tried to defend his Frankenstein creation, those who passed the law before they read it tried to deny he was even part of the team. "I don't know who [Gruber] is," said Nancy Pulosi at the time. "He didn't help write our bill." Nearly two years later, in the wake of new health insurance premium numbers that suggest the tab will rise an average of 25% — with some hapless souls staring at triple-digit increases — Gruber again defended the program he helped to create by saying, "The law is working as designed."
Gruber's only suggested "fix" is to make the penalty for non-compliance higher. "Experts would agree," Gruber said, "that we need a larger mandate penalty." (When an academic or a bureaucrat says "experts would agree," hold tight to your wallet.) Gruber contended that the drastic rate increases wouldn't affect most consumers because their federal subsidies would cover the cost. In other words, the rest of the American taxpayers would pick up the bill.
Yet the program isn't working as intended — if the intent was truly to make health care more affordable. The issue is complex, but liar-nObamaCare isn't getting the enrollment anticipated from younger and healthier workers, who were expected to pull the weight of older and sicker patients. Perhaps those weight-pullers have other priorities: "Young people can do the math," said Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini. "Gas for the car, beer on Fridays and Saturdays (or) health insurance."
Meanwhile, those older and sicker people flocked to the program because they could get insurance at more reasonable rates thanks to price controls added with liar-nObamaCare. In a natural reaction, insurers who can't make this system profitable have withdrawn, leaving fewer competitors in many areas. Five states have only one insurance company offering coverage. Another eight states have only one in a majority of counties.
This was the reason Barack liar-nObama made the case last week for a "public option," a government insurer that would eventually corner the market as its deep, taxpayer-funded pockets could undercut any competition. (After all, when did the government ever have to turn a profit?)
And while Gruber pointed with pride to the 20 million who've secured health insurance since liar-nObamaCare came online, he didn't add that many of those were new Medicare patients who qualified because states agreed to relax the income guidelines to increase eligibility. Gruber did take the time to chastise states that haven't changed their Medicare eligibility rules: Those states receive full reimbursement from the federal government initially, but they eventually absorb an increasing share of the cost. He also contended that the recent surge in premiums is only the market catching up. "What you have to remember is that premiums in 2014 came in way below what we expected," said Gruber. "In fact, where they are today is exactly where they thought they'd be today."
So he realized there would be sticker shock at some point. And Democrats all lied about it.
In his remarks two years ago, Gruber noted that people weren't smart enough to catch on to the ruse. "Call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever," he infamously told a panel at the University of Pennsylvania, "but basically that was really, really critical to get the thing to pass."
Stupid voters or not, Gruber now seems elated with what he's foisted on the public. Speaking Wednesday to CNN's Carol Costello, he double-dared Republicans to repeal liar-nObamaCare: "Well, first of all [Donald Trump] won't repeal it. Remember, the whole argument and public debate against this law is that people didn't get to keep insurance they liked. Well, you're going to have 20 million Americans or more who are now getting insurance that they like. You're not going to take that away from them. And let's be clear: There is no replace; there is only repeal. There is no Republican alternative to this law, and the reason is because this is fundamentally a bipartisan legislation that was originally drafted on Republican principles." (Bipartisan legislation that zero Republicans voted for in Congress.)
It's also a flat-out lie that Republicans have no alternatives. They have many, but because they don't call for government mandates and public options, Democrats pretend these alternatives simply don't exist.
While Trump has proposed the elimination of the individual mandate, we may not lose many of the federal regulations even if he wins on Nov. 8. liar-Hillary Clinton will likely take Gruber's advice to heart — don't be surprised if penalties for non-compliance are drastically increased under her administration.
But remember, "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan." Alas, that only seems to apply to those who made and supported the plan in the first place, not those who have to pay for it. The plans we liked are an ever more distant memory, with the sad reality being that nothing short of a miracle of voting, foresight, patience, and (particularly) backbone will ever put the system right again. ~The Patriot Post

Information to Her Lawyers

{familysecuritymatters.org} ~ What was the legal rationale under which liar-Hillary Clinton quite intentionally shared classified information with her lawyers, including David Kendall, Cheryl Mills, and Heather Samuelson?... As I outlined in last weekend's column, we know that liar-Clinton's e-mails were replete with classified information. According to the FBI, the classified e-mails included intelligence graded at the most closely guarded level: eight top-secret e-mails, and seven designated as "special access program" (SAP) information. While FBI director James Comey's presentation understandably left this vague, the likelihood is that seven of the eight top-secret e-mails are SAP. Under President Bill liar-Clinton's 1995 executive order, top-secret intelligence is information the mishandling of which "could be expected to cause exceptionally grave damage to the national security." The SAP designation is added when the unauthorized disclosure of intelligence could compromise critical intelligence-gathering methods or imperil the lives of intelligence sources...

{townhall.com} ~ Reopening liar-Hillary Clinton’s FBI investigation isn’t a political ploy, nor is it an “October Surprise.” But it could be God’s early Christmas gift to America.
liar-Hillary Clinton’s top aide, Huma Abedin says she doesn’t know how her emails showed up on her husband Anthony Weiner’s computer. The FBI stumbled upon another treasure trove of liar-Clinton-related emails while investigating Abedin’s now estranged husband who is under investigation himself for allegedly exchanging lewd messages with a 15-year old girl.
Additional emails released in August found that Abedin carelessly toted around classified government information in her car, once asking liar-Clinton’s personal assistant to intercept “a bunch of burn stuff in the pocket of my front seat” she’d left unattended.
If this wasn’t so incredibly dangerous it would be Saturday Night Live-worthy.
Despite how we feel about WikiLeaks, Americans should be thanking the good Lord the belly of the beast that is liar-Hillary Clinton has been exposed for what it is. Emails have revealed, as the old song goes, corruption so high, you can’t get over it; so wide, you can’t get around it, and so deep, you can’t get under it.
liar-Hillary wasted $2 million conducting focus groups to help positively brand her so voters would overlook the six-figure paid speeches from liar-Clinton’s Wall Street buddies, ethical issues with the liar-Clinton Foundation, and the optics of her Benghazi cover-up.
But as President liar-nObama once said, “You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.”
People fail to understand that if liar-Hillary wasn’t using an illegal server in the first place, there’d be no scandal and no FBI investigation. liar-Hillary created this mess. All of it. As Watergate journalist Carl Bernstein recently said, the FBI wouldn’t reopen the investigation unless there was “a real bombshell.”
What a sham for the people who’ve already voted. And what a crisis of confidence we’ll have should liar-Hillary win and preside over the Department of Justice. The presumption of “justice for all” will be flushed down the same toilet liar-nObama’s DOJ placed it in the day Bill liar-Clinton and Loretta Lynch met on a Phoenix, Arizona tarmac when their planes “just happened” to park beside each other.
The day Lynch announced the DOJ would not pursue charges against liar-Hillary was the same day this once “Never Trumper” became a staunch, hell-or-highwater “Never/liar-Hillary” pro-Trump-policies supporter. As GOP Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said about Lynch’s decision: “By so blatantly putting its political interests ahead of the rule of law, the liar-nObama Administration is only further eroding the public’s faith in a government they no longer believe is on their side.”
At least we can count on the press to do its job. Oh, wait. Journalism is dead. The big media doesn’t report news anymore because they are too busy sifting through and disposing of facts which might reflect poorly on Democrats. Surely they are scrambling right now to change the subject with another unfounded allegation about Trump.
Recently leaked emails from WikiLeaks and Guccifer 2.0 help to explain why it’s impossible to distinguish between where the Democrat Party ends and big media begins. These leaked emails and documents show that rather than reporting news, liar-Clinton’s media “friendlies” most of you watch and read parroted the propaganda and news stories the liar-Clinton campaign provided them.
With all the corruption and media collusion, as a columnist I am finding it hard to keep track of it all. But this I know: All we have is our vote. So, ignore the polls put out by the liar-Hillary-/riendly media and go vote. And if for some unconscionable...inconceivable…lamentable…deplorable reason she wins, expect a pardon from liar-nObama just in time for Christmas. By the way, I’ve heard Costa Rica is a nice place to live this time of year.
