Division or Unity? Baton Rouge Reflections
Americans are yet again seeking to come to grips with a racially motivated attack on police. Three officers were murdered in Baton Rouge Sunday by a former Nation of Islam member. "Everyone right now focus on words and actions that can unite this country rather than divide it further," Barack nObama said. "We don't need inflammatory rhetoric. We don't need careless accusations thrown around to score political points or advance an agenda." Well said. The trouble is America has listened to nObama over these last seven and a half years and has seen and heard little in the way of unifying action or non-agenda driven rhetoric. Just the opposite — few have been more divisive with inflammatory rhetoric meant only to score political points than nObama.
Case in point: When reflecting on the Louisiana murders Sunday, nObama chastised police: "If police organizations and departments acknowledge that there's a [race] problem and there's an issue, then that, too, is going to contribute to real solutions. And, as I said yesterday, that is what's going to ultimately help make the job of being a cop a lot safer." So if "racist cops" just admit they're racist, this will all clear up.
His statements on law enforcement and race relations have fomented division rather than brought unity. In his speeches after several mass murders he has sought to push his anti-gun agenda by focusing on the availability of guns as being the primary problem, not on the criminals committing these horrible crimes. He has continually chastised those who disagree with his political views as being driven by selfishness and a lack of concern for the plight of others. He has refused to enforce immigration laws with which he disagrees and yet he has stood and proclaimed, "America is a nation of laws, which means I, as the president, am obligated to enforce the law." He called the Baton Rouge murders an "attack on Rule of Law." This from the personification of disregard for Rule of Law.
So, as America copes with the recent atrocities in Baton Rouge and Dallas and seeks solutions to the growing unrest and divisions, we'd love to believe that nObama will follow his own advice on unity. That he will not use this latest tragedy to push his political agenda, but that he will seek to stand for those unifying principles that our Founding Fathers so carefully laid as our nation's foundation. But we're also not naïve. nObama's track record is utterly at odds with true racial healing. -The Patriot Post

28 Pages: Saudi Arabia and 9/11
The shaky U.S.-Saudi alliance took another hit Friday as Congress released 28 pages of previously classified information that implicates the Saudi government in the 9/11 attacks. Several government officials, including at least two in the Saudi intelligence apparatus, communicated with and/or assisted the hijackers. There were financial connections, as well, including some to the royal family itself.
However, the report failed to amalgamate two very opposing viewpoints. Some, like Rep. Adam Schiff, argue: "The Intelligence Community and the 9/11 Commission, which followed the Joint Inquiry that produced these so-called 28 pages, investigated the questions they raised and was never able to find sufficient evidence to support them." But others, like Sen. Richard Blumenthal, say the allegations should not be taken lightly: "While the pages do not reach a conclusion regarding Saudi involvement in the 9/11 attacks, they provide more than enough evidence to raise serious concerns."
Indeed. As Paul Sperry writes, "[T]he Saudi government's ties to the hijackers and other al Qaeda suspects were so extensive that the FBI's Washington field office created a special squad to investigate the Saudi angle. But this special focus on Saudi Arabia occurred belatedly, only after the 9/11 attacks, 'due to Saudi Arabia's status as an American "ally."' Astoundingly, investigative resources were not dedicated to Saudi involvement in financing and supporting terrorism prior to 9/11." Sperry summarily believes, "Yes, the Saudi government helped the 9/11 terrorists." Saudi Arabia — erroneously, it would appear — claims it didn't. According to Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, more than 7,500 members of the military and judiciary have been detained, including Supreme Court judges, prosecutors, and senior military officers, including dozens of generals. Meanwhile the Interior Ministry has suspended almost 9,000 officials, including 30 provincial and 47 district governors, almost 8,000 police officers, and more than 600 officers in the gendarmerie (soldiers carrying out policing duties), the Anadolu Agency state news agency reported...

liar-Clinton VP contender Castro faces investigation
over 'prohibited political activity'

{washingtonexaminer.com} ~ Julian Castro, a leading contender to join liar-Hillary Clinton's ticket, is facing a formal complaint from the Office of Special Counsel for alleged overlap between his political advocacy and his official duties as head of the Department of Housing and Urban Development... Castro criticized Donald Trump's immigration positions during an April interview with Katie Couric, during which he also praised liar-Hillary Clinton's candidacy. Doing so apparently violated the Hatch Act, a federal law meant to create a firewall between government work and political activity for most administration officials. "Secretary Castro's statements during the interview impermissibly mixed his personal political views with official agency business despite his efforts to clarify that some answers were being given in his personal capacity," Carolyn Lerner, head of the OSC, wrote in a letter to President nObama informing him of the "investigative findings" of the office's probe...

to rehear immigration case

The nObama administration made the request after the deadlocked high court ruled 4-4 last month, keeping the plan from being implemented. In the filing, the Justice Department asked the court to reconsider the case after a justice has been named to replace conservative Justice Antonin Scalia, who died unexpectedly in February. President nObama nominated D.C. The 28 Pages that Damn Saudi Arabia

More puzzling than the elusive pages is why nObama released them, and specifically, why now. The administration claims that the 28 pages clear the Saudis because they provide no conclusive evidence of their involvement in 9/11. The media echo chamber followed the administration's lead: Time, Al Arabiya, NBC, the Associated Press and many others reported that the pages contained "no smoking guns." But there are smoking guns. Those smoking guns expose the Saudi government as a sponsor of terrorism, and, by proxy, improve Iran's standing in the Middle East. Author Paul Sperry writes that the 28 pages "show the hijackers got help from Saudi diplomats and spies." And while the evidence might not meet the threshold that the current Department of Justice requires for an indictment, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) described it as "a chilling description of Saudi ties to terrorists, Saudi payments to terrorists, and Saudi obstruction of U.S. antiterrorism investigations" and found "more than enough evidence to raise serious concerns."...

Is the Party Over for Bushism?

{freedomsback.com} ~ Neither George W. Bush, the Republican Party nominee in 2000 and 2004, nor Jeb, the dethroned Prince of Wales, will be in Cleveland. Nor will John McCain or Mitt Romney, the last two nominees.
These former leaders would like it thought that high principle keeps them away from a GOP convention that would nominate Donald Trump. Petulance, however, must surely play a part. Bush Republicans feel unappreciated, and understandably so.
For Trump’s nomination represents not only a rejection of their legacy but a repudiation of much of post-Cold War party dogma.
America crossed a historic divide and entered a new era. Even should Trump lose, there is likely no going back.
Trump has attacked NAFTA, MFN for China and the South Korea trade deal as badly negotiated. But the problem lies not just in the treaties but in the economic philosophy upon which they were based.
Free-trade globalism was a crucial component of the New World Order, whose creation George H. W. Bush called the new great goal of U.S. foreign policy at the United Nations in October of 1991.
Bush II and Jeb are also free-trade zealots.
But when the American people discovered that the export of their factories and jobs to low-wage countries, and sinking salaries, were the going price of globalism, they rebelled, turned to Trump, and voted for him to put America first again.
Does anyone think that if Trump loses, we are going back to Davos-Dubai ideology, and Barack nObama’s Trans-Pacific Partnership is our future? Even liar-Hillary Clinton has gotten the message and dumped TPP.
Economic nationalism is the future.
The only remaining question is how many trade deficits shall America endure, and how many defeats shall the Republican Party suffer, before it formally renounces the free-trade fanaticism that has held it in thrall.
The Bush idea of remaking America into a more ethnically, culturally, diverse nation through mass immigration, rooted in an egalitarian ideology, also appears to be yesterday’s enthusiasm.
With Republicans backing Trump’s call, after the terrorist attack in San Bernardino, for a moratorium on Muslim immigration, and the massacres in Paris, Nice and the Pulse Club in Orlando, Florida, diversity seems to be less celebrated.
Here, the Europeans are ahead of us. Border posts are being re-established across the continent. Behind the British decision to quit the EU, was resistance to more immigration from the Islamic world and Eastern Europe.
On Sunday, French President Francois Hollande was booed at memorial services in Nice for the hundreds massacred and maimed by a madman whose family roots were in the old French colony of Tunisia.
Marine Le Pen of the National Front, who wants to halt immigration and quit the EU, is running far ahead of Hollande in the polls for next year’s elections.
As for the foreign policies associated with the Bushes, the New World Order of Bush I and the crusade for global democracy of Bush II “to end tyranny in our world” are seen as utopian.
Most Republicans ask: How have all these interventions and wars improved our lives or our world?
With 6,000 U.S. dead, 40,000 wounded, and trillions of dollars sunk, the Taliban is not defeated in Afghanistan. Al-Qaida and ISIS have outposts in a dozen countries. Iraq, Syria, Libya and Yemen are bleeding and disintegrating. Turkey appears headed for an Islamist and dictatorial future. The Middle East appears consumed in flames. (Thanks to nObama)
Yet, despite Trump’s renunciation of Bush war policies, and broad support to talk to Russia’s Vladimir Putin, the neocons, who engineered many of the disasters in the Middle East, and their hawkish allies, seem to be getting their way for a new Cold War.
They are cheering the deployment of four battalions of NATO troops to the Baltic states and Poland, calling for bringing Sweden and Finland into NATO, pushing for sending weapons to Ukraine, and urging a buildup on the Black Sea as well as the Baltic Sea.
They want to scuttle the Iranian nuclear deal and have the U.S. Navy confront China to support the rival claims of Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia to rocks and reefs in the South China Sea, some of which are under water at high tide.
Who represents the future of the GOP?
On trade and immigration, the returns are in. Should the GOP go back to globalism, amnesty or open borders, it will sunder itself and have no future.
And if the party is perceived as offering America endless wars in the Middle East and constant confrontations with the great nuclear powers, Russia and China, over specks of land or islets having nothing to do with the vital interests of the United States, then it will see its anti-interventionist wing sheared off.
At issue in the battle between the Party of Bush and Party of Trump: Will we make America safe again, and great again? Or are globalism, amnesty, and endless interventions our future?
