I must admit last year’s Presidential Election was one for the books. We watched as a man with NO political experience took on quite possibly one of the most influential political machines in our lifetime: Hillary Clinton and her army of mindless minions. From the day then private citizen Trump rode down that escalator with his beautiful wife, Melania, the future of this country would NEVER be the same.
For years we have watched those we’ve elected to represent us go to the halls of government and conveniently forget the many promises they made during the campaign. Or we were forced to choose the ‘lessor of two evils’ and then watch them fail miserably to win their desired office. Campaign after campaign and candidate after candidate only caused the average American voter to wonder why even try… then the unthinkable happened.
Electricity filled the air when Donald Trump announced his bid for the White House. In all my years as a voter, the last time I felt excited was when Ronald Reagan trounced Jimmy Carter for the Presidency. Our country was at an emotional low, and President Reagan made us proud to be Americans again. We had 8 exciting years of growth under President Reagan. However, it didn’t stop those on the Left from trying to destroy any success we achieved as a country.
After Reagan left office and George HW Bush was elected things began to fall apart. I have never been a fan of the Bushes. In my opinion, they are too Progressive and cozy with those on the far-left. I still remember when Daddy Bush (George HW Bush) gave his speech where he proudly proclaimed we needed to be part of a NEW WORLD ORDER. Now, for those of you who don’t know that’s NOT a good thing. What it means is the end of a nation’s sovereignty. That’s right, there would be NO borders, and we would be ruled by a small, unseen group of powerful, unelected people.
Then, of course, we had to endure eight years of the Bill Clinton Presidency with all its scandals. Next, we had George W Bush. Now, I had tried to like him, but there was always a small voice telling me to not be completely trustful of him. However, I never could quite put my finger on it until years later. Then after eight years of another Bush, the American people decided to show how genuinely STUPID and GULLIBLE they can be by electing Barack Hussein Obama as President. I know some may think me Islamophobic, but HOW could we elect a man with that name? A man who said hearing the Islamic Call to Prayer is one of the most beautiful things a mere few years after the 911 attack? Maybe I’m too old to understand this new way of thinking, but I remember how I felt that day when Islamic terrorists murdered thousands of innocent people in the name of a radical view of their religion. I’m sorry, but I don’t buy into the whole Religion of Peace crap. I’m convinced millions of freedom-loving Patriots gave a collective sigh of relief when it was time to replace Obama as our President.
Now enters the 2016 Presidential election cycle. I must admit the primary was a wild ride. All bets were on Jeb Bush taking the bid to run as the Republican candidate with Hillary running for the Democrats. To hear the political pundits crow on the nightly news, it was a given to be a Bush/Clinton faceoff. However, something happened that NONE of them saw coming. Bernie (Feel the Burn) Sanders came busting out of the gate and wowed the liberal side of the race. He drew huge crowds and had an ever-growing account of campaign donations. Young voters were treating the then 74-year-old like a rock star, while Hillary Clinton needed celebrities like Beyonce and Jay-Z to fill her venues and hopefully get voters to the polls for her.
Those on the Republican side had NO idea what they were in for with a candidate Trump in the race. The debates were media events, drawing some of the largest numbers of viewers in the history of televised Presidential Debates. However, that didn’t stop the liberal lap-dogs in the media from trying to destroy his campaign. From the very first debate, Megyn Kelly decided to make a name for herself and went after Candidate Trump over accusations of sexual assault made by several women. However, Ms. Kelly never expected the backlash from the Fox News viewers, and she soon found the ratings of her once top-rated nightly show crash and burn. Now she’s schlepping the liberal trash on one of the alphabet networks. I’m not sure which one she’s on and to be honest, I really don’t care.
As the primary swung into high gear, one by one the Republican candidates found themselves trampled under the mighty weight of the Trump Movement. And Superstar ‘Feel the Burn’ Sanders regardless of his massive crowds and enthusiastic supporters soon found himself on the sidelines and out of the race. You see, the Democrats have a strange way of choosing their candidate. Those Super Delegates do not represent the average Democrat voter. Nope, they can vote for whoever they want, and probably to be honest with you, whoever pays them the most.
Now the political world was shocked to see Business Mogul Donald Trump as the Republican candidate facing the mighty Clinton machine and the smartest woman ever, Hillary Clinton on the Democrat side. I never believed that smartest woman stuff, but I’d heard many try to convince us it was true.
As the general election advanced, the pundits and pollsters claimed it was a Clinton shoe-in. They touted polls where Hillary was often winning by double digits, while somehow not reporting her small number of supporters showing up for her rallies. However, it was the opposite for then-candidate Trump. His crowds were not only ‘YUGE’ as he would say, but they were motivated. We didn’t care what the media fools were spewing. We believed in Donald Trump and his promise to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.
It didn’t seem to matter if Trump was ahead of Hillary in the polls. It didn’t matter if his venues were filled to capacity with supporters standing outside for hours. It didn’t matter if we were called haters, we believed in the movement, and we supported Donald Trump. Then something changed. Something no one expected. The one thing that sealed Hillary’s demise and she had NO ONE to blame but herself.
While giving a speech to a group of LGBT supporters, in her typical arrogant manner, Hillary said those words that would forever haunt the remainder of the campaign: Basket of Deplorables. Standing at that podium, flailing her arms about in a dismissive manner Hillary delivered the speech that would drive the death-nail in her campaign…
“I know there are only 60 days left to make our case — and don’t get complacent, don’t see the latest outrageous, offensive, inappropriate comment and think, well, he’s done this time. We are living in a volatile political environment. You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it. And unfortunately, there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people — now 11 million. He tweets and retweets their offensive, hateful, mean-spirited rhetoric. Now, some of those folks — they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America.”
Nothing could have united a group of Americans tired of the same old elite crap than calling us a Basket of Deplorables. In those three simple words, Hillary Clinton proved how those in power honestly feel about us, the little guy and gal. We don’t matter. Our hopes and dreams are foolish. We are to shut-up and keep handing power to the Elites and be happy about it. Well, my fellow Deplorables, I’m sure you have the same message for them as I; WE ARE DONE! We are no longer going to remain silent while you destroy the country we all love. We are no longer going to allow you to pit us against each other to hold onto power. We are PROUD Deplorables. Fear us for we are coming after YOU!!
