  • SCOTUS has been mostly supportive of President Trump and will continue to be so. Four judges are definitely on his side no matter what, which means that he needs only one other of the two who might falter, unlikely but possible. (We can't count the three radical left judges because they always oppose President Trump.)

    • The precedent of them giving approval or denial to POTUS must be addressed and stopped. They are the least of the 3 branches.

    • Jea9, I totally agree. How do these judges even dare to intervene on anything President Donald Trump does?

    • Like rebellious children uncoupled from discipline, they have no foundation. The foundation is right there but they do not see it nor do they fear any reprisal. But they should. It could very well come.

    • They better find the constitution and start studying it fast before their flip-flopping sinks us into communism.
The Supreme Court of all courts better put their big boy pants on and stand on our founding!

  • Tariffs are NOT a tax on We the People (i.e. US Citizens) but are a useful economic tool of national power to secure diplomatic solutions to problems facing the United States of America.  The President of the United States is the National Executive and thus he is elected to secure the best interests of the United States in International Relations (i.e. diplomacy) for which tariffs are an instrument of International Relations!

  • SCOTUS has no right to opine on tariffs. Congress has given power to POTUS to impose and regulate tariffs. He can use the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) and other trade and tariff acts. Trump needs to stand up to them once and for all.

    • I agree, but SCOTUS has a mind of it's own. A few times Congress has over-written the SC, so we have to see how this unfolds.

    • I think Trump can ignore them after humiliating them, as Jackson did.

    • Not sure about that, different time. The issue is not Trump but the argument is 'are tariffs a tax on business' if so, then only Congress has the power of the purse. Thus, no President can price fix them without the approval of Congress. If that is the decision then all the tariffs imposed by Trump would become null and void. Disaster! If the decision is the President can fix the price of tariffs then that codifies Presidential power.
