I honestly think that we will never get out of this spending pandemic until we can pass a balanced budget amendment. If we can get that amendment, the government could only spend what it takes in, nothing more. We also need a law against lobbyist in Washington. They feed dollars into election coffers for votes that always cause more spending. We need to collect social security on all the money a person makes. The current law has the government collecting SS only on the first 165K an individual makes. Now think of all the professional sports players, CEOs, and plain working Americans that make more that 165K a year. We are losing hundreds of millions a year and the system is due to go broke by 2035 or sooner. If the government spendoholics have their way, they will just reduce the amount of SS the elderly currently receive to extend the program. We need a new House, Senate, and President and term limits to bring our democarcy back.
