Could it be that our Universities are having serious problems with ill-prepared High School students to support their enrollment standards? Could it be that they no longer find it possible to recruit qualified domestic students to remain world-class institutions of higher education and RESEARCH?
With the education indoctrination students that IS entirely possible Colonel. I worked for 30 years, since 1987, in a mdedical products business servicing medical products and made it back to the main office many times and saw some of the lame engineers who worked there.
I do not believe this is a good idea. It seems to me that Chinese people are only allowed out of China if they agree to spy on the to which countries they are sent.

I agree that President Trump is offering to allow 600K Chinese students into US Universities as a bargaining chip; however, I do not believe that allowing 600K hard core Chinese Communists into the United States to further corupt the weak minds of US students is a good idea. There is a chance that President Trump is playing on the fact that China has an over-abundance of young, sexually-frustrated males, who might just sell out China and their family back in China in order to get a wife. The one child policy is coming back to haunt China since most Chinese families discarded female new borns so that they could have a son to continue the family name. The problem with this is that you get to a point where there are too few females and too many males and that produces severe cultural friction. Of course, President Trump has not revealed the entirety of his thinking on this plan and he may demand a strict set of screening rules for any Chinese students allowed into the United States that brings over those who are NOT Communist Clones and which could be turned to Capitalism. I suppose we will just have to wait and see!
Maybe that is his plan COL, who knows! However, I wounder if it is possible to screen out the "good" Chinese from the "bad". I would imagine that the "bad" Chinese that are likely to support the Chinese gov. have been trained on how to look, smell, and talk like a "good" Chinese. I don't have any idea of what he is thinking, but it sure sounds like a bad play to me!
He needs to make China want to abandon Russia so he has give them a carrot and a stick. "Do it our way wonderful things happen. Back Russia $hit will hit the fan."
Remember: At any time he can deport those 600k Chinese students.
Steve, why do you think Trump, et al., will be aware of when a Chinese student is doing something harmful to the country, like spying!

We know that President Trump plays at a much higher level than anyone of us can follow and he is always five steps ahead of everyone else. Real American patriots follow whatever President Trump says or does.
