The following recent thought-provoking article revealed that Gina Haspel’s appearance last week before the Senate Intelligence Committee created a certain buzz, but was hardly the biggest spy story in town because that prize belonged to the snoop the FBI had planted in the presidential campaign of Donald Trump, which was not a new story and veteran observers had been keeping close watch.

It was also revealed that Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson, Andrew McCarthy wrote in National Review, had been “dead-on accurate” in his testimony that the FBI had a spy inside the Trump campaign for the stretch run of the 2016 race and that in his Senate testimony on August 22, 2017, Simpson explained that Steele had met with at least one FBI agent in Rome, and the FBI had intelligence from an internal Trump campaign source, a human source inside the Trump campaign. 

Additionally, it also revealed that this was an explosive revelation and, following the publication of his testimony on January 9, 2018, Simpson did his best to walk it back, but allegedly the revelations are now the subject of the ongoing battle between the House Intelligence Committee and the DOJ and that Kimberly Strassel of the Wall Street Journal has been keeping close track on that front. If True-What’s wrong with this picture?-You Decide:

Trump Is Correct: China to Blame for Millions of Job Losses 

by Political Editors:  A new study concludes that Donald Trump is right to blame China for millions of Americans losing their manufacturing jobs in the 2000s. Susan Houseman of the Upjohn Institute has found that the popular theory of new automation technology being the primary culprit for job losses among American manufactures is full of holes. The finding is similar to that of a study conducted by Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor David Autor, whose research found that two decades of trade deficits with China is the primary culprit in American manufacturing job losses precisely because it has contributed to undercutting technological development. In other words, the findings are the exact opposite of the widely assumed reason for job losses.

             Houseman’s research finds, as MarketWatch explains, “The government for decades has vastly overestimated the growth of productivity in the American manufacturing sector. It’s been growing no faster, really, than the rest of the economy. What that means is, the adoption of technology is not the chief reason why millions of working-class Americans lost their jobs in a vast region stretching from the mouth of the Mississippi river to the shores of the Great Lakes. Nor was it inevitable.”
               China developed its manufacturing often by appropriating innovation development from the U.S., all while taking full advantage of the strong dollar against the cheaper Chinese currency and raising tariffs against American imports. With that manufacturing base and capability established, U.S. companies then began moving operations to China. Setting up shop in China, innovation in America slowed while China saw it grow.
               This is the economic challenge Trump recognized and campaigned to fix. Manufacturing needs to be brought back to the U.S. and leveling the playing field via challenging China with tariffs is one component of this effort.   ~The Patriot Post

Palestinian 'Demonstrators' Aren't Innocent Bystanders 

by Jordan Candler:  By now you’ve probably come across numerous stories describing the dozens of Palestinians who were killed in recent days at the hands of Israeli defense forces. The U.S. embassy officially opened in Jerusalem yesterday, so it’s no surprise that the ceremony coincided with violent opposition from thousands of Palestinians. The New York Times describes the antagonists as “demonstrators.” Likewise, The Washington Post used the term “protests.” But neither term accurately reflects what is happening on the Gaza Strip.

             As The Weekly Standard editorializes, “In ordinary English usage, a protest is a collective action or gesture meant to bring pressure on a government or corporate entity. The Gaza ‘protests’ are meant to bring pressure on Israel, but they’re intended mainly to kill and maim both Israelis and the Palestinian ‘protesters’ themselves. These demonstrations would be better described as suicide-riots.”
               Imagine if Mexican officials encouraged illegal immigrants to wield weapons as they attempted to infiltrate the border wall near San Diego. That’s basically what’s happening in Israel. As the editorial explains, “For nearly two months, Hamas and other militant factions have been encouraging young Palestinian men to storm the fence separating Gaza from Israel. The rioters cut holes in the fence, charge Israeli guards with crude weapons like axes, and lob fire bombs over the wall in attempts to set Israeli fields on fire. Hamas has pledged to massacre those on the other side of the fence, and these riots are expressions of that intention. Israeli defense forces are obliged to respond with force.”
               Death is unavoidable in such circumstances. And guess who gets blamed? The Israelis. “This is Hamas’s longstanding strategy,” opines The Weekly Standard. “The more Palestinian young men die, the more hellish the conditions of Palestinian neighborhoods, the more sympathy aroused in Western media.” On that last note, Erick Erickson,observes, “The media is a knowing accomplice in helping a terrorist group push out its propaganda.”
               Hamas is a sinister group of Islamic terrorist provocateurs. But Hamas is also convenient cannon fodder, which explains the media’s sordidly empathizing with it and assigning blame elsewhere. When it comes right down to it, the Leftmedia and most Democrats believe that the Israelis lack sovereignty over Jerusalem. Therefore, their resentment extends not just to the Israelis but to Americans who join them in defending Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. The headlines are replete with Palestinian deaths. But those deaths are self-inflicted. Israel’s restrained military might says enough.

What’s left now is a search for a means to get out of this fiasco he, Sessions, Rosenstein and Wray have created. Saving face, aside from the obvious failures personally in that department for “Old Seabiscuit,” is now topping the to do list, along with crafting a report to be released in time and worded in such a manner as to be most effective politically before the midterms. Charles Payne evidently doesn’t watch Mark Levin, who has been stressing that Mueller was violating DOJ regulations as well as opinions by the Office of Legal Counsel, both on his own program and on Hannity. He asked his guest, former DOJ Assistant Chief Deputy Ron Bamieh why he’s just now hearing about determinations that it is impossible to indict a sitting president. Compromise in Transgender Debate Demands Rejection of Reality 

by Louis DeBroux:  By its very nature, truth exists independent of our beliefs, opinions, prejudices and superstitions. It does not bend to our will and is not subject to a majority vote. We may reject truth, we may rage against it, but truth remains, unfazed. “Facts don’t care about your feelings,” as Ben Shapiro put it.

             It is curious, then, that the conservative National Review would publish an article calling for a societal rejection of biological truth in the name of compromise. Conservatism, after all, is a philosophy rooted in the pursuit of objective truth.
               In “Time for a Compromise on Transgenderism,” NR’s J.J. McCullough calls on conservatives, in the name of compromise, to set aside rational thought and biological reality and embrace the delusion behind transgenderism; namely, that sex/gender is not rooted in our DNA, but in our feelings. Though laudable in its attempt to strengthen social cohesion, it is nevertheless a study in falsehoods and contradictions.
               McCullough declares, “Homosexual people are unavoidable and common. … Through education, and especially exposure, homosexuality is no longer regarded as bizarre, threatening, or mysterious.”
               First, homosexuals and transgenders are actually only a tiny subset of the population. According to ULCA’s Williams Institute, just 1.7% of the U.S. population identifies as homosexual, and just 0.3% as transgender. Other studies put the number of homosexuals at 3-4%. But fewer Americans identify as transgender than have heterochromia (two different colored eyes). It should also be noted that both homosexuality and transgenderism are behaviors, not biological traits.
               Second, social acceptance of a behavior does not convey moral validity. The Communist Chinese implemented the one-child policy, but social acceptance of the policy does not make the tens of millions of abortions it brought about any less murder. Or you could go the Nazi Holocaust route. Enough said.
               McCullough declares resistance to the normalization of deviant sexual behavior is an “immature, demagogic phase” of American life, ignoring the fact it is the LGBT proponents who are aggressively trying to overturn thousands of years of social order and proven biological science.
               Americans who hold to traditional morality and biological reality are accused of hatred and bigotry, forced by the state to deny reality and violate deeply held religious beliefs, or face hate-crimes charges, public vilification and even the loss of their livelihoods.
               McCullough’s “compromise” is for the reality-based population (i.e., “cultural conservatives and traditionalists”) to extend “broad tolerance for the reality that transgender men and women exist, and are entitled to basic human dignity, just like everyone else.” This is a straw man. No conservative calls for mistreating transgenders or denying basic human rights. Just the opposite; Christians proclaim the eternal worth of every soul as a child of God.
               However, dignity is a subjective term. It flows outward from dignified people, and cannot be granted. Despite being mocked, cursed and spat upon, Christ could not be robbed of his regal dignity by the offending Jews. On the other hand, those engaged in the most flamboyant displays of sexual deviancy during LGBT parades cannot obtain dignity, regardless of the coercive power of the state.
               Though McCullough claims transgenderism is a “persistent aspect of humanity,” that is demonstrably false. Examples of effeminate homosexual men, or “butch” lesbians, have long been with us, but the claim that a biological male is an actual woman, or vice versa, is very recent, not to mention delusional.
               More important than these battles in the culture wars are the implications for life itself.
               According to Johns Hopkins University, the first U.S. institution to perform “sex reassignment” surgery, “The belief that gender identity is an innate, fixed human property independent of biological sex — so that a person might be a ‘man trapped in a woman’s body’ or ‘a woman trapped in a man’s body’ — is not supported by scientific evidence.”
               Furthermore, studies show a staggering 41% of transgendered people attempt suicidein their lifetimes, and that suicide rate is relatively constant regardless of other variables, like living in an area where homosexuality/transgenderism is widely accepted. Nurturing their delusion, rather than providing treatment, is cruel and deadly.
               Even McCullough admits, “The risk of psychologically and physically damaging children by encouraging or enabling them to embrace transgender identities before pubescence must be acknowledged as a valid concern backed by credible evidence.”
               Yet if the first phase of the compromise is for conservatives to accept the delusional altered reality of transgenderism, then on what basis does one then reject allowing a sexually confused child to “transition”?
               The problem with McCollough’s entire argument is that the Rainbow Mafia is not interested in compromise; they simply  demand our surrender. Prior to the Supreme Court’s Oberge fell ruling, LGBT proponents mockingly asked conservatives to tell them how our lives would change if same-sex marriage was legal. As we predicted, so they have done. Christians are being persecuted by the state, ostracized by society and denied their constitutionally protected rights to freedom of religion, speech and association. Their livelihoods are being destroyed.
               So while McCullough’s intentions are worthy, his approach is completely wrong. No person should be forced to accept biological falsehoods, nor violate their moral and religious beliefs, to appease a few militant, biologically confused people. We should never, ever allow the compulsive power of the state to silence debate, especially when one side is rooted in delusion.  ~The Patriot Post

Mueller moves to muscle out Manafort’s

Mr. Downing cited 10 stories, sourced to unnamed people who implicated Mr. Manafort in possible criminal activity. He contends the information came from grand jury testimony, which would be illegal for a prosecutor to leak. In a footnote to his filing, Mr. Mueller’s lead prosecutor, Andrew Weissmann, makes a preemptive argument before District Court Judge T. S. Ellis III. John Brennan’s ‘Exceptionally Sensitive’ Issue

But they didn’t have any, save some pretty skimpy material on “contacts” between Trump campaign officials and Russians. Whatever Brennan collected was so insubstantial that Robert Mueller hasn’t even interviewed him about it. Consider that for a second: Mueller was supposedly appointed to complete the counterintelligence probe into Trump world, and he hasn’t felt the need to talk to the father of it. Brennan has tried to explain this astonishing discrepancy away by vaguely saying that whatever Mueller needs he could find in “CIA files.” Those files are no doubt as elliptical as the formal document starting the probe. Jobless in Seattle 

by Nate Jackson:  Here’s irony for you: Seattle is penalizing the companies most responsible for employing people while rewarding the city officials most responsible for creating a crisis of homelessness. What do we mean? We’re referring to Seattle’s new “head tax” of $275 per full-time employee for companies earning at least $20 million in annual revenue. Nearly 600 employers will be hit by the tax, which was dialed back from the initially proposed $500 per job. It was unanimously passed by the Democrat-run city council this week with the ostensible aim of raising nearly $50 million per year to pay for affordable housing and other “homeless services” — services needed because Democrat policies cause poverty. Seattle and King County, “home” to the third-highest number of homeless people in America, already spent $200 million on the problem last year.

             The resurrected and greatly expanded tax is significant for two reasons: First, and most important, it serves as a Democrat model for other cities. Democrats always aim to punish the successful so they can redistribute to their favored constituency groups in return for votes and, thus, power.
               Second, Seattle is home to both Starbucks and Amazon, two of the nation’s largest employers, both of which oppose the tax. Now, don’t get us wrong, we have little sympathy for either company. Starbucks has been at the forefront of leftist social justice battles, albeit recently getting a taste of its own medicine. And Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is the world’s richest man and a stalwart financier of leftist causes, not least of which is owning The Washington Post. Amazon recently justified some anti-conservative discrimination based on the work of the radical leftist hate group known as the Southern Poverty Law Center.
               But Amazon Vice President Drew Herdener sounded downright conservative in denouncing this “tax on jobs.” He hammered the city, saying, “City of Seattle revenues have grown dramatically from $2.8 billion in 2010 to $4.2 billion in 2017, and they will be even higher in 2018. This revenue increase far outpaces the Seattle population increase over the same time period. The city does not have a revenue problem — it has a spending efficiency problem. We are highly uncertain whether the city council’s anti-business positions or its spending inefficiency will change for the better.” Indeed, Amazon is looking to expand elsewhere.
               A letter signed by more than 100 Seattle business leaders likewise nailed it: “We oppose this approach, because of the message it sends to every business: if you are investing in growth, if you create too many jobs in Seattle, you will be punished.” Companies won’t hire more workers, and they’ve stop shy of earning $20 million.
               As Fox News dryly notes, “Seattle once had a $25-a-year per head tax, but killed it in 2009 because leaders said it sent the wrong message to businesses during the recession.”
               Back to homelessness, again, Seattle’s city council helped create the problem. Investor’s Business Daily reports, “From 2010 to 2013, the city saw an explosion in the construction of ‘congregate housing units’ — basically, affordable, dorm-room size apartments with shared kitchen and living areas. Within those three years, private developers constructed 1,800 units. But by 2015, not one was built. Why? In 2014, the city stepped in and smothered this option with regulations that required the apartments to be bigger, banned them from more desirable areas, and forced builders to jump through costly design reviews.” Voila, housing shortage.
               And that’s on top of Seattle’s job- and pay-crushing  $15/hour minimum wage, its income-redistributing tax on high-earners (that was struck down as illegal), its tax on property owners to pay for political speech, its soda tax and its gun tax, just to name a few.
               It sure seems Seattle’s Democrat overlords are doing everything possible to follow in the footsteps of the socialists killing Venezuela.   ~The Patriot Post

That was the response from Presidential Special Assistant, Kelly Sadler, during a discussion regarding opposition to Gina Haspel’s nomination for CIA director which included John McCain’s statement that while he believes Haspel is a “patriot,” he also believes “her refusal to acknowledge torture’s immorality is disqualifying.”

McCain himself was tortured as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, which puts his views into context, but what it doesn’t take into account is that the North Vietnamese engaged in torture well above and beyond the sorts of enhanced interrogation techniques employed by the CIA in recent years.

The outrage over Kelly Sadler’s comment has been widely played up by the mainstream media over the past week, and some have openly called for her to be fired.

NoKo Threatens to Cancel Summit, but Will China Let It? 

by Thomas Gallatin:  Predictably, North Korea pulled out of ongoing talks with South Korea yesterday as well as threatened to cancel the upcoming summit between dictator Kim Jong-un and President Donald Trump in Singapore next month. Why? Ostensibly because of annual U.S.-South Korea military drills. North Korean state-run media reported, “This exercise targeting us, which is being carried out across South Korea, is a flagrant challenge to the Panmunjom Declaration and an intentional military provocation running counter to the positive political development on the Korean Peninsula. The United States will also have to undertake careful deliberations about the fate of the planned North Korea-U.S. summit in light of this provocative military ruckus jointly conducted with the South Korean authorities.” This announcement runs counter to earlier reports that Kim did not object to the military exercise. However, it’s worth noting that North Korea’s language condemning the annual military exercises is significantly more reserved than in prior years.

             Truth be told, this moving of the goalposts is nothing new for the rogue nation. Kim’s primary goal is to maintain his grip on power, while at the same time working to relieve the extremely debilitating effects of the U.S.-led international sanctions. He is now angling for concessions from the U.S. ahead of any deal. It’s the classic bait-and-switch play. China, while understandably desiring to avoid any real possibility of war in its region, still wants to maintain its North Korean puppet as a bargaining chip, which it can regularly rattle for its own geopolitical aims.
               But do these reports signal that the highly anticipated summit talks are essentially over or for naught? Not at all. The two countries that have the most to lose should the summit collapse are North Korea and, even more significantly, China. Trump has kept the pressure on China by continuing to threaten increased tariffs should China not concede to playing fair with trade, while at the same time he has offered juicy carrots such as a willingness to reexamine the U.S.‘s export ban on ZTE issued last month. The ban will have a massively crippling effect on the Chinese telecom giant, as last year alone ZTE imported over $2 billion worth of components from U.S. companies.
               So while Kim would love to play the same old game North Korea’s leaders have always played, proclaiming their willingness to turn from their threatening ways in exchange for sanctions relief and economic benefits only to later renege, China is unlikely to let Kim play the old charade this time if doing so provokes even more of Trump’s trade squeeze. In the meantime, expect to hear continued rumblings and threats to cancel from North Korea right up until the summit occurs.

{ sultanknish.blogspot.com } ~ The following is intended to serve as a useful guide to various activists, protesters and other completely non-violent folk who happen to be packing knives, guns, rocks and grenades. You will encounter various law enforcement and military personnel-- this is how not to get shot by them.

First of all it's important to remember that if you attack an armed man in a uniform, he will very probably shoot you.

Even given the most restrictive Rules of Engagement in the world which forbid him from opening fire unless he is outnumbered 600 to 1, and only when he has been given specific authorization by the UN to use deadly force-- there will still come a time when he will open fire on you. This will occur when he feels that he or his comrades are in danger. At this point there will be bullets headed your way, and no matter what you learned at your Madrassa or in Protest Studies at Evergreen State High University, you are not bulletproof. Really, you're not. 

The good news is that there is a very easy way not to get shot.

Step 1. Don't attack soldiers.

Step 2. When in doubt, see Step 1.

That means not trying to disembowel them with your peaceful knife and not throwing rocks at their head. Because while you might think that legal activism includes attempted murder, the men in uniform think that attempted murder should result in sudden death. And when that happens you will realize that fanatical passion for your poorly thought out cause and a medieval weapon are no match for trained soldiers who have guns and know how to use them.

The thing to remember is that while just about every revolution you read about does involve a crowd of people rushing at armed men, those people usually end up dead or in a lot of pain. You should expect to have the same thing happen to you. Putting on a Kefiyah or a pair of Birkenstocks does not exempt you from the laws of physics, or the code of common sense. Putting your wacky beliefs about a pedophile who rode a flying horse in a dream aside, if you attack someone, you should expect them to respond. And if they have a gun, they will respond with bullets.

At that point you will either become a martyr or the world's ugliest man.

Since the dawn of time, men have guarded the borders of their nations. The border indicates that the lands within are the possession of their tribe and their chieftain. That border may only be crossed with the permission of the laws of the people who rule over it. To cross that border without their permission is to invite war, or at least a shower of arrows, spears or more lately, bullets. To cross that border for hostile purposes is to take your life in your hands. And unless you have an army with you, those hands are slick, greasy and operated by a mind completely devoid of common sense.

Similarly since the dawn of time men have responded blow for blow, rock for rock and fist for fist. If you claim to be non-violent, that may remove from you the risk of suffering preemptive violence, but it does not give you license to engage in violence yourself under the dubious shield of words. Because words are only good for fighting other words. Once you have a weapon out, then you have put words such as "non-violence" or "pacifist" or "youth" aside. You have given up the moral protection of presumed innocence, for a life and death struggle. And if you do not have the stomach for the consequences of that struggle, then you should not raise that knife or that stone. Because there will be no use complaining afterward about disproportionate violence.

It is also written in the codes of common sense, that only the attacker can be guilty of disproportionate violence, not the defender.

It is the business of the defender only to repel you with as little damage to himself as possible. If you have a rock, you should not expect him to put down his gun, and throw rocks at you. And if you have a knife, you should not expect him to set aside his gun for a sharp blade. This is not a duel of honor, but an exchange of force intended to result in injury or death. His business is not to mete out an equivalent level and method of force to yours, but to dispatch you as quickly as possible. Prior to your attack on him, his concern was for your safety. After your attack on him, his concern is only for his own.

What you need to understand is that for you violence is political. To soldiers and law enforcement officers, violence is only a tool. In your mind, your attempt to kill is noble, while his attempt to kill you is vile and cruel. In his mind however there is an equation, violence set against violence.

He does not particularly care what you believe, just that you not attack him while you are believing it. To you he is only a rage puppet in a political or religious narrative. To him, once you attack you are nothing more than a moving target. Understanding this will help you to not get shot. Failing to understand this is how martyrs are made. But the thing about martyrdom is that the health plan is terrible and there's no long term prospects to it at all.

The difference between terrorists and and soldiers, is that terrorists want to kill people, but lack the necessary skills to do it well. While soldiers have the skills to kill people, but would rather not do it. When angry people with rocks, knives, crowbars and a few guns attack trained personnel with guns, the victory goes to the people who are trained to kill, not to those who want to kill. And when the blooded radicals complain about disproportionate force, what they're really doing is whining about how surprisingly hard it is to kill people.

The average radical, lefty or Islamic, is as stupid as he is vicious. His cleverness exhausts itself in invective and rhetoric, which he discovers has surprisingly little application in a firefight. What is left is a would be murderer who rather late in the game discovers that he is trying to kill people, who are better at killing than he is. And that he came woefully unprepared for the encounter. Part of his misguided thinking is the belief that a knife or a rock are more moral weapons than a gun. They are not. A gun is the most moral weapon invented because it is efficient, quick and deadly. Killing a man with a knife is positively horrifying compared to shooting him in the head. Soldiers and law enforcement officers understand this. Subconsciously so do radicals, which is why they long for the knife, the rock and the nail studded bombs. If they kill, they prefer to be brutal and cruel about it.

The terrorist is utterly terrible at the art of war, but excels at the art of making his innocent victims suffer. The soldier dispatches his targets quickly and cleanly. For the terrorist however, inflicting agony is the sadistic purpose of the entire exercise. The suicide bomber gives himself a quick death, while mutilating those in his vicinity. He spreads horror and shock. And of course terror.

But the media finds something awful about the soldier who executes his target with one round to the head, and something faintly heroic about the suicide bomber "making a statement" by taking away the arms of a 13 year old girl. Because the media radicals admire murderous passion, but find something horrible about the detachment of the soldier just doing his job. To kill horribly because of passion is somehow better in their eyes, than to kill cleanly and dispassionately to keep the people around you safe.

But terrorists only exist when they are tolerated. And they are tolerated by people who do not think like soldiers, but think like the media. Who want to find ways of making terrorists less angry, rather than finding ways to make more terrorists dead. Such people write narrowly restrictive rules of engagement, prosecute soldiers for defending themselves, and are outraged when a bullet prevents a massacre, rather than being outraged by the planned massacre instead.

But let us be clear about it. When you pick up a knife or a rock or a gun, you are not facing the politicians or the generals who answer to them. You are facing men who bear you no particular ill will, but do want to get home to their families that night or that month or that week. And if you do anything that risks interfering with that, they will shoot you.

They are just guarding the front lines. They are not politicians. They just have guns and know how to use them. And if you attack them, you will die. And in that moment you will realize that neither your moving poems or your Koran, will do you the least bit of good. Because while you have the passion, they have the training. And the best to not be shot by men trained in the art of violence, is to put down the knife, the rock or the gun and walk the other way.

Dear Dems: Stop Attacking the Electoral College 

by Lewis Morris:  Connecticut became the latest state to break with the Constitution last week by joining the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. The state Senate approved and Democrat Gov. Dannel Malloy vowed to sign a bill that would pledge the state’s electoral votes to the national popular vote winner in presidential elections.

             The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact is a scheme developed by opponents of the Electoral College — generally leftists who would rather see the president of the United States elected by popular vote than via the Electoral College system the Founders established in the Constitution.
               The Electoral College was designed to make the presidential election a truly national contest. It forces candidates to recognize all regions and not ignore small states and rural areas in favor of large states and major metropolitan areas. The process, Alexander Hamilton wrote in Federalist 68, “affords a moral certainty, that the office of President will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications. Talents for low intrigue, and the little arts of popularity, may alone suffice to elevate a man to the first honors in a single State; but it will require other talents, and a different kind of merit, to establish him in the esteem and confidence of the whole Union, or of so considerable a portion of it as would be necessary to make him a successful candidate for the distinguished office of President of the United States.”
               Democrats are not happy with the Electoral College, however. liar-Hillary Clinton, as we are repeatedly reminded, won the national popular vote by roughly three million votes. If it weren’t for the Electoral College (and men, and women, and whites, and James Comey, and the Russia, and… and…), she would be president right now. Therefore, in the eyes of Democrats, the Electoral College is no longer relevant.
               But consider this: Over 20% of Clinton’s 65.8 million votes came from California and New York alone. Take those two deep-blue states out of contention and she would have lost the popular vote by three million. liar-Clinton didn’t campaign hard enough in the Rust Belt, losing states she mistakenly assumed would stay in her column. liar-Clinton ignored these states in favor of big blue vote buckets like Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, San Francisco and other major metropolitan areas.
               In fact, the 2016 election is proof positive that we do need the Electoral College and that it is still relevant.
               It’s typical Democrat behavior to assume that because they can’t seem to win something, then the game must be rigged. This is why they came up with the national popular vote scheme in the first place. Recognizing that their most loyal voters tended to be in metropolitan areas, and that these areas were growing (more Americans live in cities than in rural areas), Democrats pined for a popular-vote strategy that could secure them a lasting national presence as it has in several states with large metropolitan areas. California and New York are perfect examples.
               The National Popular Vote Compact began in 2007. Laws were introduced in states that would pledge that state’s Electoral College votes to the winner of the national popular vote regardless of the outcome of that state’s vote. In other words, if a given state votes for the Republican candidate, but a Democrat wins the national popular vote, then that state’s electors must pledge to vote for the Democrat. The compact goes into effect when the total number of states on board reaches 270 electoral votes, the winning number to become president.
               With the recent addition of Connecticut, there are now 11 states, plus the District of Columbia, in the compact. They are all deep blue states, of course, and they hold a total of 172 electoral votes. Given that these states are unlikely to actually vote Republican anytime in the foreseeable future, this compact is currently almost meaningless. However, according to the compact’s website, there are 12 more states in which the bill has passed at least one chamber, totaling 96 electoral votes, which would bring the compact total to a very relevant 268.
               It’s ironic from a historical perspective that Connecticut joined the compact. It was Connecticut’s Roger Sherman who argued against a national popular vote for president during the Constitutional Convention of 1787. He, like many Founding Fathers, feared the tyranny of the majority, noting that the people at large “will generally vote for some man in their own state, and the largest state will have the best chance for the appointment.”
               Today’s Democrats believe that just the opposite is taking place — that smaller states and rural populations (i.e., Republicans) are running the country. Barack liar-nObama complained after the 2016 election that the Electoral College works against Democrats. And liar-Clinton has been calling for the abolition of the Electoral College since scum-Al Gore’s loss in 2000.
               The case can be made that the Electoral College does favor Republicans, but that may be because the GOP knows how to run a presidential election better than Democrats from a technical standpoint (if not always politically). It could also just be the ebb and flow of presidential politics. Coalitions come and go, states change from blue to red and from red to blue. It is the nature of politics, and it is how our federal republic works.
               The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact is not a solution to this issue because there is no problem. If Democrats want to win a presidential election, then they should front a candidate who wants to be president of all the people instead of just those she doesn’t consider “deplorable.”   ~The Patriot Post

In his Senate testimony on August 22, 2017, Simpson explained that Steele had met with at least one FBI agent in Rome, and the FBI had intelligence from an internal Trump campaign source, a human source inside the Trump campaign. 

This was an explosive revelation and, following the publication of his testimony on January 9, 2018, Simpson did his best to walk it back. The revelations are now the subject of the ongoing battle between the House Intelligence Committee and the DOJ. Kimberly Strassel of the Wall Street Journal has been keeping close track on that front. 

The DOJ had finally “agreed to brief House Intelligence Committee members about a top-secret intelligence source that was part of the FBI’s investigation of the Trump campaign. Even without official confirmation of that source’s name, the news so far holds some stunning implications.” The DOJ knew full well it should have turned this material over to congressional investigators last year, “but instead deliberately concealed it.”

As Strassel noted, House investigators even “sniffed out a name,” not a welcome development for Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who like Special Counsel Robert Mueller appears to believe he is a head of state. Rosenstein accused the investigators of “extortion,” as though they were threatening his family for a ransom payment. Rosenstein also said it was a constitutional duty to refuse revelations of FBI files, and the DOJ trotted out what Strassel called the “daddy of all superspook arguments,” that lives were at stake. 

This desperation told Strassel that “whatever is in these files is going to prove very uncomfortable to the FBI,” but some items were already clear. The FBI had been maintaining that it launched the probe over “the drunken ramblings of George Papadopoulos” but the FBI, James Comey et al are “suspiciously vague” on the launch date. The FBI was likely spying on the Trump campaign long before, and the source may be overseas, with ties to foreign intelligence. 

Strassel takes this to mean that “the FBI secretly had a person on the payroll who used his or her non-FBI credentials to interact in some capacity with the Trump campaign.” This is a “major escalation” from the electronic surveillance, and Strassel recalls that the FBI failed to tell the FISA court that its information “came from the Hillary Clinton campaign.” 

Strassel thinks she knows the spy’s name but she is holding off pending confirmation from her sources. What is clear, she writes, “is that we’ve barely scratched the surface of the FBI’s 2016 behavior, and the country will never get the straight story until President Trump moves to declassify everything possible.”

Andrew McCarthy says the mole in the Trump campaign is unknown to the public but that Devin Nunes, “has learned that if he is catching flak, he is over the target.” So no surprise that, as Julie Kelly notes in American Greatness, “The Deep State Mob Targets Nunes.” 

Comey, “the consigliere of the Deep State Mob,” has joined with fired prosecutor Preet Bharara to mock Nunes in the media. CNN national security analyst Asha Rangappa repeats the claim that Nunes’ demands for information risk lives and Susan Hennessey of the Brookings Institution tweets that Nunes cannot be trusted and Paul Ryan should replace him with Mike Conaway. 

So the California Republican has doubtless found the target-rich environment. As revelations await, observers should recall a couple of key back stories. 

The “resistance” to duly elected president Donald Trump, writes Michael Walsh, “was an intelligence operation from the start, engineered by Barack Obama, James Clapper, John Brennan, Loretta Lynch, leading Democrats, rogue Republicans, and using a deeply partisan and thus compromised media as its vengeful Greek chorus.”

One of the “primary components” of the deep-state coup was the decision of the previous administration, one week before Trump’s inauguration, to expand the National Security Agency’s raw-intelligence distribution lists to the entire intelligence community. This act, Walsh explains, opened up “many more avenues for ‘unmasking’ – and leaking – the names of Americans caught up in the NSA’s electronic nets.” The Democrats “were able to leverage the transition in order to change as many rules and embed as many apparatchiks as possible before formally turning over the reins to the new kids.”

This is what happens when, with no apology to John Goodman in The Big Lebowski, a nation elects a president whose defining story is “historical fiction,” as David Garrow said of Dreams from My Father. This is what happens when that president names his successor and tilts the deep state in her favor. Even so, Donald Trump carried the day. 

The most powerful man in the world surely has the best sources about the deep-state spy in his campaign, and a lot more. The sooner it all emerges the better. The future must not belong to those who disrespect the voice of the people.

4. DOJ/FBI (and its leakers) have shredded what little credibility they have in claiming they cannot comply with subpoena. They are willing to provide details to friendly media, but not Congress? Willing to risk very source they claim to need to protect?
5. Back in Dec., NYT assured us it was the Papadopoulos-Downer convo that inspired FBI to launch official counterintelligence operation on July 31, 2016. Which was convenient, since it diminished the role of the dossier. However .
6. Now NYT tells us FBI didn’t debrief downer until August 2nd. And Nunes says no “official intelligence” from allies was delivered to FBI about that convo prior to July 31. So how did FBI get Downer details? (Political actors?) And what really did inspire the CI investigation?
7. As for whether to believe line that FBI operated soberly/carefully/judiciously in 2016, a main source for this judgment is, um . . .uh . . . Sally Yates. Who was in middle of it all. A bit like asking Putin to reassure that Russia didn’t meddle in our election.
8. On that, if u r wondering who narrated this story, note paragraphs that assure everybody that hardly anybody in DOJ knew about probe. Oh, and Comey also was given few details. Nobody knew nothin’! (Cuz when u require whole story saying u behaved, it means u know you didn’t.)

(May 16, 2018) — On Wednesday night’s “Hannity,” investigative reporter Sara A. Carter told host Sean Hannity that there “may have been multiple sources,” meaning informants, communicating with the FBI from inside the 2016 presidential campaign of Donald J. Trump.

Carter’s statement was based on an article appearing in The New York Times on Wednesday revealing the code name of “Hurricane Crossfire” assigned to the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign launched July 31, 2016.

Hannity asked Carter, apparently with some foreknowledge, if she would be producing “a big story tomorrow on the FBI informant that was in the Trump campaign, right?  Am I jumping the gun here?” to which Carter responded by at first stuttering and then with, “I hope so.  Well…maybe you’re not jumping the gun.”

Last Thursday, The Wall Street Journal’s Kimberley Strassel extrapolated, from a leak appearing in The Washington Post about a “top-secret intelligence source” whose identity the Justice Department and FBI are loathe to release, that a “mole” or spy was gathering information on the Trump campaign and relaying it to the FBI in 2016.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes and House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Gowdy have been demanding of the DOJ and FBI to learn the basis for the launch of the FBI’s probe into the Trump campaign.  Nunes has said publicly that he has seen no basis gleaned from “intelligence” for the FBI to justify an investigation.

In The Times’s article, writers Matt Apuzzo, Adam Goldman, and Nicholas Fandos contended that of the FBI agents tasked with investigating the Trump campaign, “The mood in early meetings was anxious.”  Following its probe of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server which ended in no charges, the FBI agents were not “eager to re-enter presidential politics,” the writers said, allegedly according to unnamed “former officials.”

In discussing the article with Carter and Fox News Legal Analyst Gregg Jarrett, Hannity opined that it was written from the FBI’s point of view as a sort of “cover.”

Obama’s Spy Within The Trump Campaign ID’d By Internet Sleuths!-Posted on Constitution.com-By Andrew West-On May 12, 2018:

There are very few reasons for anyone to believe that Barack Obama was some sort of saintly, atypical political operative.  In fact, in his absence from Washington, we are just now getting a good look at the democrat’s slimy trail.

Well, to be fair, he really isn’t absent from Washington, having bought a home in the suburbs and hired a team of politicos to “keep tabs” on the Trump team…but that’s for another time.

Earlier this week, we heard one of the most disheartening stories of American insurrection that we have heard in a long time.  According to new reports, the Obama administration had planted a spy within the Trump 2016 campaign, through the FBI, in order to launch a covert war against the conservative candidate.  Now, thanks to a number of highly motivated internet detectives, it looks as though we may have found our mole.

Now, this is a long and confusing story, so I will attempt to break it down into bite-sized pieces for us.

With Peter Strzok’s text messages available to the public due to his outing as an anti-Trump instigator within the Special Counsel’s #RussiaGate hoax, we can determine that Strzok and his adulterous lover Lisa Page were both connected to Stefan Halper and George Papadapolous – two men intrinsic to the Obama team’s offensive against Trump.  Then, evidence of a secret meeting between Halper and Obama cronies was uncovered.

On September 13, 2016 Papadopoulos accepted a meeting with Stefan Halper.

Halper approached Papadopoulos unbidden. Papadopoulos had no prior contact with Halper.

Halper, who has connections to CIA & UK Intelligence, asked Papadopoulos: “George, you know about hacking the emails from Russia, right?”

Stefan Halper is a Cambridge Fellow. He was a Senior Policy Advisor to Presidents Nixon, Ford & Reagan (bio here).

Halper has a close association with former MI6 Head Richard Dearlove.

Of course, we can’t ignore that MI6 connection either.

Here is a nice, succinct little timeline of what we’re looking at:

Late February or early March 2016 – Papadopoulos lands a prestigious sounding job that immediately pads his resume.

Early March 2016 – Papadopoulos learns he will become a foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign.

March 14, 2016 – Papadopoulos first meets Mifsud in Italy – approximately one week after officially joining the Trump team.

March 24, 2016 – Papadopoulos, Mifsud, Olga Polonskaya and unknown fourth party met in a London cafe.

April 18, 2016 – Mifsud introduced Papadopoulos to Ivan Timofeev, an official at a state-sponsored think tank called Russian International Affairs Council.

April 26, 2016  – Mifsud claims to have met with high-level Russian government officials who have “dirt” on Clinton. Papadopoulos told the FBI that Mifsud said “the Russians had emails of Clinton” and “they have thousands of emails.”

May 4, 2016 – Papadopoulos gives his interview to the London Times. It is not well-received in London.

May 10, 2016 – Papadopoulos meets with Australian Diplomat Alexander Downer. It is Downer who seeks out the meeting.

May/June 2016 – Halper invites Carter Page to July 2016 Cambridge symposiumregarding the upcoming election.

July 11, 2016 – Carter Page attends symposium with Halper just four days after his July 2016 Moscow trip.

July 31, 2016 – FBI opens Counterintelligence Investigation into Trump-Russia connections.

August 2-3, 2016 – Strzok travels to London to meet unknown party at Australian Embassy.

September 13, 2016 – Papadopoulos accepts a meeting with Stefan Halper. Halper, who has connections to CIA & UK Intelligence, asked Papadopoulos: “George, you know about hacking the emails from Russia, right?”

And while there is little hope that we’ll ever know the full scope of the Obama administration’s infiltration of the Trump campaign, this is a good start.  Now wouldn’t it be nice if the so-called “journalists” of the mainstream media would do their jobs as well as the American people do?

From the moment Barack Insane Obama took the Oath back in 2008 the media had totally come out of the ideological shadows. The "blame America" agenda was officially in full swing. Second Study: Fracking Doesn't Contaminate Groundwater 

by Political Editors:  A new study on the practice of hydraulic fracturing (otherwise known as fracking) recently published in the Springer corroborates an earlier study conducted by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Both studies found that fracking to extract oil or natural gas resulted in no contamination of groundwater, a charge popularly leveled against the oil and gas industry by environmentalists.

             Using a form of radiocarbon dating to detect traces of natural methane gas (CH4) in groundwater near fracking sites, the study concluded, “We found no relationship between CH4 concentration or source in groundwater and proximity to active gas well sites. No significant changes in CH4 concentration, CH4 isotopic composition, pH, or conductivity in water wells were observed during the study period. These data indicate that high levels of biogenic CH4 can be present in groundwater wells independent of hydraulic fracturing activity.” To sum it up, the study found no evidence of any groundwater contamination from fracking activity.
               And while environmentalists and ecofascists are typically quick to dismiss any studies that don’t comport with their desired narrative, including attacking the source of the study’s funding (often claiming the bill was footed by profit-driven oil companies), that dodge of relevant science will not be possible with this study. The two organizations that funded the study were the David & Sara Weston Foundation, whose mission is to “enrich and strengthen underserved communities in … the arts, environmental conservation and social services,” and the Deer Creek Foundation, whose objective is to “enrich the cultural and artistic quality of life in St. Louis metropolitan area.” Will environmentalists listen or does their commitment to ecofascist dogma prevent objective analysis? The next day, a story in The New York Times — "Jews In Grave Danger In All Moslem Lands" — reported that Jewish communities throughout the Arab world were under siege. Jews were starting to be fired from their jobs and terrorized into fleeing. Across the region, said the Times, "the stage is being set for a tragedy of incalculable proportions."

That was no exaggeration. In the months that followed the birth of Israel — a birth midwifed by the United Nations but violently opposed by Arab governments — hundreds of thousands of Jews became refugees. Within the first years of Israel's existence, once-vibrant Jewish communities in the Middle East and North Africa were decimated. In 1945, there were nearly 1 million Jews living in Arab lands. Today, there are almost none.

For the Palestinians, May 14, 1948 is remembered as the "Nakba" (Arabic for "catastrophe") — the flight of 700,000 Arab refugees from Israel during the war that followed the creation of the Jewish state. The fighting was launched by the Arab League, whose armies invaded Israel within hours of its birth. The league's secretary-general, Azzam Pasha, had declared that the Jews would be wiped out in "a war of extermination and momentous massacre," but the fledgling state survived, and hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were displaced instead.

Over the years, enormous attention has been paid to the issue of the Palestinian refugees. Even after seven decades, the topic remains raw and emotional. It is frequently said that there can be no lasting solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict until the plight of the Palestinian refugees is settled. To this day, the Palestinian Authority and Hamas claim a "right of return" for the original refugees and their descendants. More than 1.5 million Palestinians live in dozens of refugee camps administered by the United Nations, their predicament intensified by the refusal of every Arab country save Jordan to grant them citizenship.

The "Jewish nakba" of the 1940s is now largely forgotten. Yet in terms of the number of people affected, property lost, and history erased, the catastrophe that befell the Jews of the Arab world dwarfed what happened to the Palestinians.

Jews had been living in the Arab lands since time immemorial; in countries like Egypt, Iraq, and Libya, Jewish communities flourished centuries before the advent of Islam. Jewish life was integral to Middle East society, which drew nourishment from some of the world's most ancient cultural roots.

But with the rebirth of Jewish sovereignty in Palestine, antisemitic fury erupted across the region and those roots were ripped out. As the UN in 1947 debated whether to adopt the partition plan authorizing a Jewish state, Arab leaders had warned that violence against Jews would be uncontrollable. Addressing the UN General Assembly, the Egyptian ambassador Heykal Pasha threatened "the massacre of a large number of Jews" if the partition plan were adopted.His menacing words were echoed by Iraq's Foreign Minister Fadil Jamali. Let a Jewish state come into existence, he said, and there would be no restraining "the masses in the Arab world."

In reality, the waves of expulsion and expropriation that ensued were orchestrated less by Arab mobs than by Arab governments, which passed harsh new laws stripping Jews of their property and civil rights. In time, some 900,000 Jews were dispossessed or banished. Two-thirds of them made their way to Israel, which welcomed the refugees as new citizens. Many arrived with little more than the clothes on their backs; they had no choice but to rebuild their lives from scratch, while dealing with the trauma of upheaval and shattering loss as best they could.

Fortunately for them, that's what they were expected to do. Unlike Palestinian refugees, the Jews expelled from Arab countries were not encouraged to keep believing that they would return and reclaim their lost homes. They were not kept in refugee camps for decades, or denied the right to become citizens of countries that took them in. The grievous psychological injuries suffered by the Jewish refugees were allowed to heal. Not so the Palestinians. Their cynical leaders sought to keep their wounds festering, the better to exploit them as a political and propaganda tool against Israel.

Jews and Palestinians weren't the only refugees in the 1940s. Terror, poverty, and persecution put tens of millions of people to flight during and after World War II. Vast numbers of ethnic Germans, for example, were expelled after the war from the Soviet Union, Poland, and Czechoslovakia. The partition of the Indian subcontinent displaced 14 million men, women, and children. Driven by terrible circumstances, countless human beings had to run for their lives and start over in a strange land.

As countless human beings, from Syria to Myanmar, still do.

Then as now, the best hope for refugees lay in resettlement, not in dreams of return. The Palestinian refugees' worst catastrophe wasn't displacement, a fate they have shared with much of mankind. It was being fed a lie — that the clock will be turned back, and the last 70 years undone. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the 1948 refugees, whether they live in Lebanon or Jordan, in America or the West Bank, are not refugees. They are at home. That is how they should think of themselves. That is how they should insist that the world think of them. No one is going back to the 1940s. Once Palestinians stop believing otherwise, the "nakba" will be at an end.

Deripaska spent around $25 million and would have succeeded except the U.S. State Department, then headed by liar-Hillary Clinton, backed out.  ♦In September of 2016 Andrew McCabe is now Deputy Director of the FBI, when two FBI agents approached Deripaska in New York – again asking for his help. This time the FBI request was for Deripaska to outline Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort as a tool of the Kremlin. Deripaska once hired Manafort as a political adviser and invested money with him in a business venture that went bad. Deripaska sued Manafort, alleging he stole money. However, according to the article, despite Deripaska’s disposition toward Manafort he viewed the request as absurd. He laughed the FBI away, telling them: “You are trying to create something out of nothing.”...

Who Are the Real Warmongers?

Were they interested in militarily defeating Iran to replace it in Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon, then the motive, conquest, would certainly meet a common criterion of "warmonger." Were they interested in selling weapons to either or both sides for personal gain, they could well be called warmongers. Indicted Russian Company Asks Judge 

To Dismiss Mueller’s ‘Make-Believe’ Charges

The company argues the case is an example of Mueller attempting to “justify his own existence” by indicting “a Russian — any Russian.” Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has “rejected the history and integrity of the DOJ and instead licensed a Special Counsel who for all practical political purposes cannot be fired, to indict a case that has absolutely nothing to do with any links or coordination between any candidate and the Russian Government,” Concord wrote in the court filing. Concord’s lawyers also petitioned the judge to review the instructions Mueller’s team gave the grand jury in securing the indictment...

Demo Hypocrisy for Just $25

             One of my recent emails from the Democrat Party included a link promoting their shop, which has about 40 items. Most of those items are, predictably, caustic, promoting what they are against rather than what they are for — for obvious reasons. But I came across this $25 baby onesie and was struck by the abject hypocrisy. How many babies will never wear this outfit because the Democrats ensured they would never be born?
               Democrat identity politics are built on what they oppose, because if Americans actually understood what they support, and the future implications, the Party would collapse. CBS Evening News effectively doubled down on their network’s obnoxious anti-Israel coverage from earlier Monday morning. “Mr. Trump said our greatest hope is for peace. The reality today was violence especially in Gaza, however,” Glor chided as he was leading into Williams’ report. “Israeli soldiers shot and killed more than 50 Palestinians, more than 1,200 were hurt,” he added. He failed to mention that those numbers were provided by the Palestinian Authority, which has a long and documented history of inflating numbers and even faking deaths. The rest of the media was eager to run with those dubious numbers as well. Williams began her report by talking about how angry the Palestinians were about the U.S. Embassy opening in Jerusalem, Israel’s capital. “Men and women threw rocks,” she touted as if it was a sign of how progressive they were. Secondly, after the original article was published, John Solomon gained new information about the FBI contacting Oleg Deripaska in September of 2016; before the election and before the FBI gained a FISA warrant against Carter Page and the Trump Campaign. Instead of a new article, four paragraphs were inserted as an “update” to the original content. Very weird decisions. However, Zawahiri quickly pivots away from the controversy over the embassy relocation, reiterating al Qaeda’s longstanding conspiracy theory: The entire international system is hostile to Muslims. Just being part of the United Nations makes one complicit in this alleged scheme, according to bin Laden’s successor. Indeed, the title of Zawahiri’s speech, “Tel Aviv Is Also the Land of Muslims,” underscores his point. { americanthinker.com } ~ Anyone who watched the confirmation hearings of Gina Haspel should be astonished at the way most of the Democrats treated her... KSM, the mastermind of the 9-11 attacks, and the Senate intelligence panel"s Democrats both agree that they are against the nomination of Gina Haspel to lead the CIA. He has written a letter to them giving information about Haspel, who in 2002 was a chief of base at a black-site prison in Thailand, where detainees were subjected to enhanced interrogation. Waterboarding was a big issue, but none thought to mention that it happened to only three terrorists. Maybe the Democrats should call KSM as a witness, since they appear to be singing the same tune of Kumbaya. At best, these Democrats were playing Monday-morning quarterback, but more likely, the takeaway is that they are politically correct, while appearing to sympathize with the terrorists. New Mexico senator Martin Heinrich asked her, "Do you think that a transcript that says the detainees continued to scream has the same gravity, the same reality of an actual video?" Is he kidding, or does he believe that Americans will ever feel sorry for these jihadist extremists who brutally killed 3,000 Americans? This just shows how out of touch the Democrats are with reality. Maybe Heinrich should think about the screams of those 3,000 people on 9-11 as they plunged to their deaths, were burned alive, or were dismembered. After all, KSM said how his brothers would relentlessly continue their attacks: "eventually America will expose her neck to us for slaughter."...

What's Next for Trump's Iran Strategy?

             For eight years, America endured a “pen and phone” president so thoroughly convinced of his own moral superiority that he viewed Congress as more of an impediment than a co-equal branch of government. And the same media that gushed over his “courage” — even now, The Washington Post is referring to the former president’s disastrous appeasement of Iran as one of his “signature foreign policy achievements” — is aghast that what can be done by executive fiat can be undone the same way.
               How bad was the Iran deal? There was no deal. “The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is not a treaty or an executive agreement, and is not a signed document,” stated a letter sent in 2015 from the State Department to then-Rep. Mike Pompeo. Thus the notion that Barack liar-nObama’s executive order was binding is absurd.
               It was implemented because liar-nObama knew he couldn’t get the constitutionally required two-thirds vote of approval from the Senate for a treaty. Thus, he called it an understanding, and with ample help from Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN), he turned that treaty provision on its head, making it necessary for two-thirds of the Senate to kill the deal.
               Given political cover, Congress allowed the agreement to go forward, and liar-nObama gushed about having Iran “fully rejoin the community of nations.” The regime was then rewarded with more than $100 billion in sanctions relief and $1.7 billion in cash, delivered on pallets by unmarked planes in the middle of the night — a portion of which even former Secretary of State hanoi-John Kerry admitted would be used to support terrorism.
               A portion? After agreement’s implementation, Quds Force commander Qassem Suleimani, traveled to Moscow and got Vladimir Putin to provide air support for pro-Assad, Iranian-backed militias fighting in Syria. Teheran began ballistic missile testing. It engendered civil war in Yemen and Lebanon. It quadrupled its financial support of terror proxy Hezbollah, and established a supply route in Iraq for arming its fighters in Syria.
               How desperate was liar-nObama to make any kind of deal? The administration used the NSA to spy on Israel, “coincidentally” capturing conversations between anti-deal U.S. officials, Jewish American leaders and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. National security advisor Ben Rhodes created a media echo chamber of “know nothing” journalists duped into disseminating administration lies about the Iranian regime’s nature. And as columnist Eli Lake reminds us, just days before the deal was implemented, “Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps boarded a U.S. Navy vessel and briefly detained U.S. sailors who had accidentally drifted into Iranian waters. In case the point was missed, the sailors were videotaped on their knees with their hands clasped behind their heads.”
               The point was missed. hanoi-Kerry called the subsequent release of the sailors “a testament to the critical role that diplomacy plays in keeping our country safe, secure and strong.”
               Trump has ended this nonsense. More important, he is free to pursue that which a feckless liar-nObama refused to “meddle with” in 2009, even as Iranian dissidents were being beaten and killed: regime change.
               Toward that end, Trump has circulated a three-page white paper among National Security Council officials that “seeks to reshape longstanding American foreign policy toward Iran by emphasizing an explicit policy of regime change,” The Washington Free Beacon reports.
               And contrary to leftist assertions that Trump is putting America on the brink of war, the document “deemphasizes U.S. military intervention, instead focusing on a series of moves to embolden an Iranian population that has increasingly grown angry at the ruling regime for its heavy investments in military adventurism across the region.”
               The mullahs are sitting on a populist powder keg. In addition to unpopular adventurism, Iran is facing an acute water shortage precipitated by bad water management policies and aging infrastructure. The regime’s promise to spread the nuclear deal’s wealth to its people has been broken, leaving the nation with an 11% unemployment rate, while the Revolutionary Guard who runs Iran’s ballistic missile program and answers solely to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei controls between 15% and 30% of the economy. The government has also banned Telegram, an encrypted personal messaging app used by half the country that Iran’s ICT minister, Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi, insisted was “encouraging hateful conduct, use of Molotov cocktails, armed uprisings, and social unrest.”
               Lake envisions a three-prong strategy for regime change. First, Iranians need to take charge of their own revolution, which requires Trump to refrain from picking leaders, arming particular factions or precipitating an invasion. Second, credible channels of communication that abet domestic resistance, but refrain from empowering outside groups seeking to impose their own agenda on such a movement, must be established. Third, Trump must expand his list of demands beyond nuclear parameters. Lake suggests tying the removal of sanctions to the removal of the office of Supreme Leader from the nation’s constitution.
               All good, but columnist David French adds an essential ingredient to the mix, insisting “we must beat Iran on the battlefield, not by invading or declaring war but instead by ensuring the endurance and ultimate victory of our allies in the proxy conflicts raging across the Middle East.”
               He reminds us why. “Arguably no nation in recent history has taken more deadly action against the United States without a corresponding American response,” he asserts. “No wonder the regime believed it could dictate terms to the liar-nObama administration.”
               They can’t dictate terms to Trump. “If the regime continues its nuclear aspirations, it will have bigger problems than it has ever had before,” the president asserted during his withdrawal announcement.
               In response, Iranian parliamentary members burned a paper American flag and chanted “death to America,” while Khamenei tweeted that Trump’s “corpse will also be worm food while IRI stands strong.”
               Anyone who believes such contempt for America and its leaders hasn’t been the Iranian government’s position for decades is as delusional as an liar-nObama administration and the cabal of equally spineless European leaders who also believe evil should be appeased — especially if it accrues to the EU’s globalist profit-making schemes.
               And that goes double for mostly Democrat congressional hypocrites who opposed  liar-nObama’s deal, but now oppose Trump for rescinding it. They are joined by their fellow progressive elitists “for whom there is only one right way to conduct a presidency, and that is the Harvard-Democratic-groupthink way,” columnist Michael Walsh explains.
               Leftist arrogance is nothing new. Neville Chamberlain’s Munich Agreement of 1938 and liar-Bill Clinton’s Agreed Framework of 1994 were both sold as grand achievements in diplomacy. Both were catastrophic failures, yet both were ignored by an equally clueless liar-nObama administration, led by an “arc of history” narcissist who was ultimately forced to admit the JCPOA only delayed Iran’s ability to acquire nuclear weapons.
               Today marks the 70th anniversary of Israel’s creation and the first day Jerusalem will be the official home of the U.S. Embassy. North Korea has announced it will dismantle its nuclear test site prior to negotiations ostensibly aimed at denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula.

Thousands of Gaza Hamas Thugs Attack Israel for $100 a Day

Jerusalem ready to embrace 

the new U.S. embassy

{ jewishworldreview.com } ~ The windy road leading up to the city was decorated with fluttering American and Israeli flags on Monday as signs everywhere declared "Trump, Make Israel Great." A popular soccer team even renamed itself: "Beitar Trump Jerusalem." 

Jerusalem is ready - sort of - for the official opening of the U.S. Embassy. 

The inauguration will take place at the site of the new embassy, which is really the existing consulate, just with a spanking new plaque. President Donald Trump will not attend but he will address the high-profile crowd, including his daughter Ivanka, son-in-law Jared Kushner and a host of political, religious and communal leaders, via live video linkup. 

For most of Jerusalem's residents, the wider Israeli public and the country's leaders, it's a cause for huge celebration. 

At a celebratory breakfast in Jerusalem, Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked called Trump the "Churchill of the 21st century." 

"He has reversed Chamberlain's policy of capitulation and teaches the world that 'the landowner has returned,' " said Shaked at an event attended by members of the visiting White House delegation. "Europe insists upon not learning from history. It closed its eyes to the strengthening of the Nazis; today it is choosing to close its eyes to the strengthening of Iran. In such a reality in particular, it is good that the leader of the free world is President Trump." 

A day earlier, at a special "Thank you America" event at Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told a crowd, including 250 visiting U.S. senators, congressmen, community and religious leaders that "tomorrow will be a historic day for our people and for our state." 

"President Trump's decision to move the embassy to Jerusalem affirms a great and simple truth: Jerusalem has been the capital of the Jewish people for the past three thousand years. It's been the capital of our state for the past 70 years. It will remain our capital for all time," said Netanyahu, who later hosted members of the official White House delegation at a celebratory dinner.

Israel feels vindicated by the administration's decision to recognize its capital as Jerusalem. It declared sovereignty over the city 51 years ago following the 1967 Arab-Israeli war, but most countries do not recognize Israel's rule over the city, where a third of the residents are Palestinian. And most states say their embassies will remain in Tel Aviv until Israelis and Palestinians reach some sort of peace agreement. 

"Outside of the U.S. and a few other countries, most of the world is against this move," said Ayman Odeh, leader of the Arab faction in Israel's parliament, who despite being invited to the opening ceremony is consciously objecting by boycotting the event. 

"Most want to see peace created along the lines that existed in 1967," he said. "This is a one-sided move that strengthens occupation and moves us further from peace." 

"This is a hostile act against international law and against the people of Palestine," said Saeb Erekat, secretary general of the Palestine Liberation Organization. "It places the U.S. on the side of the occupying power." 

Palestinians are planning to protest the move at events planned throughout Jerusalem and the West Bank. Israeli police spokesman, Micky Rosenfeld, said that security forces were on high alert for what is expected to be a tense few days. 

On Tuesday, Palestinians mark the Nakba, Arabic for "catastrophe," a term used for the flight and expulsion of an estimated 700,000 Palestinians seven decades ago upon Israel's creation. The day also draws large protests. 

But the largest demonstrations will likely take place in the coastal enclave of Gaza, where there has already been several weeks of unrest, with some 49 Palestinians killed by Israeli soldiers and more than 2,000 wounded.

In Jerusalem, those who arrived to celebrate the opening of the new embassy dismissed claims that the move undermines the chances for peace between Israelis and Palestinians. 

Traveling with the official delegation, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said that now was the "right time" to move the embassy. 

"It's been U.S. policy since 1995 and if you have a problem then need to take it up with God," said Graham, referring to legislation approved by Congress. The legislation included a waiver allowing presidents to delay the move by six months at a time, which has been used by successive presidents until now. 

"In a fractured Middle East now is the time for America to have Israel's back," said Graham. "If there ever are two states then maybe the Palestinians will make east Jerusalem their capital, only time will tell." 

"We've had presidents who promised to move the embassy but not kept their promise and they were praised, now we have a president who has kept his promise and he is criticized," said Alan Dershowitz, a prominent lawyer who lately has proven an advocate for the Trump administration. 

He said he did not believe the move undercut the process of reaching peace between Israelis and Palestinians. 

"liar-nObama did that by not vetoing the U.N. resolution against Israeli settlements. Trump has revived the status quo and is ready to restart the process. But the Palestinians won't get a state without negotiating," said Dershowitz. 

Also among those visiting are some prominent Christian Zionist and evangelical leaders who have been instrumental in shaping Trump's Jerusalem policy. Some see the embassy move as fulfilling a divine prophecy. 

Pastor Robert Jeffress, a Fox News contributor and megachurch Baptist preacher from Dallas, is scheduled to lead a prayer at the opening of Monday's ceremony. Jeffress has caused controversy for disparaging views on other religions, particularly Islam. 

But Mike Evans, an American Christian Zionist who runs the Friends of Zion center in Jerusalem and paid for the citywide banners celebrating Trump, says this is a "pragmatic move." 

"The embassy dedication is a statement of no longer tolerating evil and is a game changer for the Middle East," he said.

FBI Stonewalled House Intel Committee

 to Cover Up a Spy in the Trump Campaign

It appears the FBI had a spy in the Trump campaign. As The New American reported Monday, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes — tired of being “stalled” and “stonewalled” — threatened Attorney General Jeff Sessions with charges of contempt of Congress unless Sessions complied with a congressional subpoena to provide information on a “specific individual” in the investigation. That “specific individual” is a U.S. citizen who acted as a “source” for the FBI in its never-say-die investigation of alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. Both the DOJ and FBI had already pushed the boundaries one time too many for Nunes and he was ready to pull out the big guns to force compliance with the subpoena. Now, according to the Washington Examiner, a letter from the Senate Judiciary Committee has gone even farther, with Chairman Chuck Grassley saying to the Department of Justice and FBI that Comey had suggested Flynn wouldn’t be charged for making false statements to investigators. “Director Comey specifically told us during that briefing that the FBI agents who interviewed Lt. Hero Takes Out Armed Thug Robbing

A robber was intently focused on the woman he was in the process of robbing... as she and others were picking up children from outside a private school in Sao Paolo, Brazil. One of those mothers happened to be an armed, off-duty police officer who knew exactly what action was necessary and took it without hesitation. The thug, 21-year-old Elivelton Neves Moreira, 21,approached the crowd from outside of camera range with his pistol drawn and aimed it at the innocent civilians, including children, at the crosswalk. As his attention was directed solely on his intended victim, another woman, military police officer Katia da Silva Sastre,42, retrieved her own pistol from her purse and delivered three taxpayer relief shots to the chest of Moreira. { jewishworldreview.com } ~ The inauguration of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem is an important recognition of Israel's inherent right to govern itself. It is also the start of a new era, one in which the international community's relationship is based on reality and fact, not fantasy and fiction.

President Donald Trump's decision to allow the 1995 Jerusalem Embassy Act to move forward is historic. At the most basic level, it states what has been obvious to Jews for thousands of years: Jerusalem is, has been and will always be the capital of the Jewish people. This notion was formally adopted by Israel when it named Jerusalem its capital in December 1949. For too many years, however, foreign countries continued to site their embassies in Tel Aviv, a symbolic statement with a clear message - a refusal to recognize Jerusalem, even West Jerusalem, as the country's capital.

By moving its embassy to Jerusalem, the United States is making a statement: Israel is no longer a second-class country whose capital isn't recognized by the world. Although we are a small country, we have long punched above our weight in the international arena. By acknowledging Jerusalem as our capital, President Trump has given us the respect and dignity all other nations have enjoyed for a long time.

We would never question Britain's, Germany's or Canada's choice of their capital city. So we would never dream of locating our embassies anywhere but in London, Berlin or Ottawa. Capital cities are determined by the governments of the states, not by outsiders or visiting diplomats. Yet even though Israel has long made clear that Jerusalem is its capital, we have been disrespected and our decision ignored. Today, that starts to change.

Yes, we might disagree with many governments about the future of east Jerusalem. From our perspective the Holy Basin --- including Temple Mount, the Western Wall, Mount of Olives and the City of David - will always be an integral part of Israel. Others do not share this view.

Yet even those who argue with us about the eastern parts of the city understand that West Jerusalem is Israel's seat of government. Ambassadors to Israel present their credentials at the President's Residence, visit government offices and meet in the Knesset - yet these countries locate their embassies elsewhere.

Despite our diplomatic argument, despite a difference of opinion on east Jerusalem's final status, having an embassy in west Jerusalem, in the areas everyone knows are and will remain Israeli, is the most natural thing. There is no other country whose capital is questioned by the world, and Israel should not suffer from such discrimination.

Jerusalem once hosted many foreign embassies, from Africa, Latin America and even Europe. None of these embassies closed immediately after the 1967 Six-Day War. Instead, they were shut down one by one, because of Arab political and diplomatic pressure starting after the 1973 Yom Kippur War. The Dutch and Colombian embassies, as well as others that operated in Jerusalem until 1980, showed that the move to Tel Aviv was nothing but a political choice.

Just as we welcome the American embassy, there are already others, including Guatemala and Paraguay, following Washington's lead and planning their embassies' relocation to Jerusalem. This trend will only grow, and I look forward to the day when having an embassy in Jerusalem will be the norm, not the exception.

The oleaginous Mike Pence, with his talent for toadyism and appetite for obsequiousness, could, Trump knew, become America’s most repulsive public figure. And Pence, who has reached this pinnacle by dethroning his benefactor, is augmenting the public stock of useful knowledge. Because his is the authentic voice of today’s lickspittle Republican Party, he clarifies this year’s elections: Vote Republican to ratify groveling as governing.

Last June, a Trump Cabinet meeting featured testimonials offered to Dear Leader by his forelock-tugging colleagues. His chief of staff, Reince Priebus, caught the spirit of the worship service by thanking Trump for the “blessing” of being allowed to serve him. The hosannas poured forth from around the table, unredeemed by even a scintilla of insincerity. Priebus was soon deprived of his blessing, as was Tom Price. Before Price’s ecstasy of public service was truncated because of his incontinent enthusiasm for charter flights, he was the secretary of health and human services who at the Cabinet meeting said, “I can’t thank you enough for the privileges you’ve given me.” The vice president chimed in but saved his best riff for a December Cabinet meeting when, as The Post’s Aaron Blake calculated, Pence praised Trump once every 12 seconds for three minutes: “I’m deeply humbled. . . . ” Judging by the number of times Pence announces himself “humbled,” he might seem proud of his humility, but that is impossible because he is conspicuously devout and pride is a sin.

Between those two Cabinet meetings, Pence and his retinue flew to Indiana for the purpose of walking out of an Indianapolis Colts football game, thereby demonstrating that football players kneeling during the national anthem are intolerable to someone of Pence’s refined sense of right and wrong. Which brings us to his Arizona salute last week to Joe Arpaio, who was sheriff of Maricopa County until in 2016 voters wearied of his act.

Noting that Arpaio was in his Tempe audience, Pence, oozing unctuousness from every pore, called Arpaio “another favorite,” professed himself “honored” by Arpaio’s presence, and praised him as “a tireless champion of . . . the rule of law.” Arpaio, a grandstanding, camera-chasing bully and darling of the thuggish right, is also a criminal, convicted of contempt of court for ignoring a federal judge’s order to desist from certain illegal law enforcement practices. Pence’s performance occurred eight miles from the home of Sen. rino-John McCain, who could teach Pence — or perhaps not — something about honor.

Henry Adams said that “practical politics consists in ignoring facts,” but what was the practicality in Pence’s disregard of the facts about Arpaio? His pandering had no purpose beyond serving Pence’s vocation, which is to ingratiate himself with his audience of the moment. The audience for his praise of Arpaio was given to chanting “Build that wall!” and applauded Arpaio, who wears Trump’s pardon like a boutonniere.

Hoosiers, of whom Pence is one, sometimes say that although Abraham Lincoln was born in Kentucky and flourished in Illinois, he spent his formative years — December 1816 to March 1830 — in Indiana, which he left at age 21. Be that as it may, on Jan. 27, 1838, Lincoln, then 28, delivered his first great speech, to the Young Men’s Lyceum in Springfield. Less than three months earlier, Elijah Lovejoy, an abolitionist newspaper editor in Alton, Ill., 67 miles from Springfield, was murdered by a pro-slavery mob. Without mentioning Lovejoy — it would have been unnecessary — Lincoln lamented that throughout America, “so lately famed for love of law and order,” there was a “mobocratic spirit” among “the vicious portion of the population.” So, “let reverence for the laws . . . become the political religion of the nation.” Pence, one of evangelical Christians’ favorite pin-ups, genuflects at various altars, as the mobocratic spirit and the vicious portion require.

It is said that one cannot blame people who applaud Arpaio and support his rehabilitators Trump, Pence, et al., because, well, globalization or health-care costs or something. Actually, one must either blame them or condescend to them as lacking moral agency. Republicans silent about Pence have no such excuse.

There will be negligible legislating by the next Congress, so ballots cast this November will be most important as validations or repudiations of the harmonizing voices of Trump, Pence, Arpaio and the like. Trump is what he is, a floundering, inarticulate jumble of gnawing insecurities and not-at-all compensating vanities, which is pathetic. Pence is what he has chosen to be, which is horrifying.
