ABOLISH THE 16TH AMENDMENT

ABOLISH THE 16TH AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION                                                                    We have an antiquated tax system that was created to fund WW1 and it will be 100 yrs old this year, (2013).  It was written into the constitution as the 16th amendment.  It gives congress uncontrolled authority to tax the incomes of the citizens of the United States of America.  Since then we have been through two world wars and several territorial wars.  By 1918, government revenue generated by taxing income exceeded 1 billion dollars for the first time.  By 2010, the IRS collected nearly $1.2 trillion through individual income taxes and $226 billion from corporations.  This levy on the working Americans goes directly into the federal government coffers where the congress of the United States budgets it out.  What’s so bad about that?  It’s known as trickle down economics, and it leaves the door open for abuse of power and favoritism.  When a person, family or group is responsible for their own hard earned money, they are very careful about the way it is spent.  When a group of people, duly elected has money to spend that they didn’t earn, the feeling isn’t the same.  Thus the saying “easy come easy go”.  I like to call this the “Pay Down Effect”.  What happens in the pay down effect is the waste and the temptation to abuse the system is increased 100 fold.  Favoritism, pork projects and lobbyist being the order of the day.  Legislators become greedy and take advantage of the system that they created back in 1913.  Income tax is not a fair way of collecting revenue, why, because of the large percentage of people who do not work, cannot work, will not work.  In the early days of the nations history taxes were imposed on imports and exports in the form of tariffs.  It worked.  Government was smaller.   I think we need a system of taxing where it is “PAY UP”   so that the cities, counties collect revenue and pay up to the federal government.  It could work like this:  local governments, be it city or county, collect revenue, and after the local needs are met in their budget, the money goes to the state to help meet their budgets.   The balance or budgeted amount then goes to help the federal government.  The revenue on the local level can be collected on sales tax, property tax, sin tax such as tobacco, alcohol or casino gambling.  That would give the federal government a lot less power over our individual lives and rights.  There wouldn’t be any more blackmailing or pressure on our local governments because of the pay down effect.  Local governments would retain control of their funds to underwrite their own projects.  No more going to the federal teet and begging for funds.   The federal government still has all the income collected from corporations and tariffs on imports and exports and many other creative forms that don’t infringe on our inalienable rights.  In this country, we have double taxation.  First our income is taxed.  Then we pay sales tax on every purchase we make with our net income.  We pay property taxes after that, we even pay taxes on a used automobile for which taxes were charged when it was purchased new.  It’s time for a change and that time is now!  Maybe we could even reinstate the Value Added  Tax.

  • We have a better way. Make all elected officials support and honor their oath of office. We note that this is not the case and especially with Obama and other Left Wing Radicals. The Communists would not be holding so many seats in our Senate if Americans insisted on them keeping their oath or out they go to never return.

We know much of these problems are due to our Liberal American School System. We also know the gun shootings are another result of these! We know Obama would have been out after only 2 years if we insisted on him honoring his oath!

  • The point is moot if the SCOTUS would uphold the Preamble/Constitution.  Promote the GENERAL WELFARE EXCLUDES individual welfare.  The Constitution is the OPPOSITE of the Communist Manifesto.  The difference is REDISTRIBUTION over SELF-RELIANCE.  Redistribution and individual welfare are priciples of the Communist Manifesto, NOT the Constitution.  The Constitution mandates SELF-RELIANCE.  Per the Constitution, the govt. cannot take money from one man to give it to another.  No welfare, food stamps, social security, medicare, etc.  Without the welfare state, there is NO NEED for the IRS.  If we are governed by the Constitution, redistribution and welfare are illegal.  If we are governed by the Communist Manifesto, redistribution and welfare are legal.  This country needs to make only that one decision;  Constitution or Manifesto.
