Rep. Comer actually is messing around and wasting valuable time that should be spent by the DoJ referring the evidence to obtain Grand Jury indictments and move on to the Judicial Process, convictions, and PUNISHMENT!!!!!!!
Sorry, dump truck loads of subpeanas are not Grand Jury indictments... they are showboating... Kabuki Theater... The depositions may or may not be worth the trouble... as they may all claim the 5th Amendment...many will seek due process to squash the supeamas ... The only thing Congress can do is to refer criminal conduct to the DOJ for investigation and prosecution. Their hearings and acts are not CRIMINAL DUE PROCESS.
Why not call for several Grand Juries (one for each of the major scandals) and indict the criminals as soon as the Grand Jury establishes probable cause to... indict. This Kind of showboating is EXACTLY what is wrong. It has been happening for decades... STOP IT... We are not fooled. Depositions taken by Congress may be challenged in court and may be legally insufficient to constitute evidence of a crime... they will be challenged and may be denied admittance as evidence of a crime.
More foolish delays. Any deposition should be taken by the criminal justice system. Criminal investigations are not Congress's responsibility, and they can end up doing more harm than good.
