Communist Protesters Harass Florida AG Pam Bondi

{ trevorloudon.com } ~ Things are quickly spiraling out of control here in America as communists, progressives, liberals, dummycrats-Democrats… whatever you want to call them have stepped up physical attacks against conservative politicians. First, it was Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen who was harassed at a Mexican restaurant in D.C. and was basically forced to flee before it escalated. Those were the dummycrats-Democratic Socialists of America and one of their comrades was a paralegal who works at the Department of Justice. The next day, they surrounded her home and protested her there as well until she left. Then came White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and her family who were booted from The Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, VA over her support for President Trump’s desire to ban transgender people from the military. And don’t forget the threats of violence from actor Peter Fonda and other celebrities against Nielsen, Sanders, Barron Trump and others. Now, it’s Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi’s turn. She is of course a Republican and a supporter of President Trump. Yesterday, she attended a screening of the Mr. Rogers documentary at a movie theater entitled, “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” A video posted to Twitter shows Bondi being escorted out of the building by police officers as protesters chant slogans and demand Bondi support healthcare provisions from the Affordable Care Act...Is there a law against harassment?  I bet if it was against a liberal hell would brake lose.

Taxpayers’ Money Going To Islamic Charity Group 

With Ties To Terrorist Groups

{ dailycaller.com } ~ One of the largest Islamic charities in the world has financial ties to several terrorist organizations... according to a report obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation. Islamic Relief, the highly influential international nonprofit, receives funds from the Charitable Society for Social Welfare, for example, which was founded by Al-Qaida terrorist and “Bin Laden loyalist” Abdul Majeed Al-Zindani, the report says. Islamic Relief is also accused of financially supporting Hamas, the militant and political Islamist organization regarded by much of the international community as a terrorist group. And Americans are helping foot the bill,  according to the Middle East Forum (MEF), a conservative think tank based in Philadelphia that investigated and published the report. In the last 10 years, MEF says taxpayers from western countries have provided $80 million to Islamic Relief, which allegedly has a close relationship with networks of the Muslim Brotherhood, also considered by many  to be a source of Islamic terrorism despite claims of violence denunciations...If true, why are we still giving them relief money.

CBP Reunited 522 Illegal Immigrant Children With Their Families

{ dailycaller.com } ~ Customs and Border Protection has reunited 522 illegal immigrant children with their families who were separated... as a result of the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy, according to a Department of Homeland Security statement released Saturday. “CBP has reunited 522 Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) in their custody who were separated from adults as part of the Zero Tolerance initiative,” the press release  said. “The reunions of an additional 16 UAC who were scheduled to be reunited on June 22, 2018 were delayed due to weather affecting travel and we expect they will all be reunited with their parents within the next 24 hours.” The press release said some families were transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody together due to “the speed in which adults completed their criminal proceedings.” The report did not say how many families were currently together in ICE custody. Devin Nunes sets new deadline for DOJ, FBI to hand 

over materials on Trump campaign informants

Michael Horowitz is the Department of Justice's Inspector General. He testified on June 18th before the Senate Judiciary Committee about his report concerning the liar-Hillary Clinton national security breach investigation. The revelation came to light during questioning by Senator John Kennedy. (@7:36)

Horowitz testified that “most” of the investigative decisions in that investigation were made not by the FBI but by prosecutors within the Department of Justice.

One might be tempted to conclude that much of the criticism of the FBI for its decisions in the aforesaid liar-Clinton investigation would have to be discounted or re-examined. Perhaps. But that is not the most important conclusion.

For whatever reason, it is clear from the report that the structure of the FBI/DOJ's liar- Clinton investigation was all off: the FBI was reduced to providing a set of runners perhaps willing and even avid, because of their demonstrated bias, runners, but runners just the same for DOJ attorneys.

Now, in our system of justice, this is not unlawful. It is “merely” highly unusual.

Skipping over, for a bit, reflections on the incidence of the DOJ calling the shots in investigations, what should be stressed is that if there is a need for an FBI, and not for just a set of runners and errand boys for geekish DOJ clerks, perhaps it might be logical to posit that if so, then the FBI should actually handle its investigations itself.

Now, simply, it is very rare for criminal investigations to be handled directly from FBIHQ. But it may have been unprecedented in the history of the FBI to have run the liar-  Hillary Clinton investigation, an intelligence/espionage investigation, out of FBIHQ.

It probably behooves us to pause here in order to remember that the FBI is organized in what to many may appear to be an upside-down fashion. Ordinarily cases are either assigned to or are developed by “case” agents. Case agents work out of offices scattered across the country.

The reader may find this remarkable, but it is the case agents who make investigative decisions, although ostensibly they are on the lowest rung of the organizational chart. For this reason, many agents have fought to stay at the case-agent level. One cannot be “prince of the city” sitting in an office.

Of course, if a particular investigative step is of a sensitive nature, prior to taking it authority is secured from the requisite supervisory level, which is often at the level of FBIHQ. There is nothing wrong with that, in principle. No one – no case agent – wants to embarrass the Bureau. If there is a “conformity bias” in the field office it is to take the case wherever the facts lead, and not in an overzealous fashion.

Thus, in the ordinary course, it is only once an investigation is complete! that the work product is given to the DOJ. Decisions as to discretionary investigative steps are taken in the relatively insulated environment of the field office; they are taken by case agents who are not really beholden to anyone, as they have no need or intention to promote themselves.

All of this militates against bias.

The reverse is true concerning the liar-Clinton espionage investigation. There the structure of the investigation militated towards bias. Indeed, the reins of the investigation were handed over to the DOJ. If there had been real leadership at the Bureau, this would never have happened.

For this reason, in order to lessen the chance for such shenanigans to take place, the president, or at the least the FBI director, should ensure that no investigations be conducted out of headquarters. Ever. That would go for Robert Mueller's “special counsel” probe, which is an FBI/DOJ to itself.

There is yet another consideration. The FBI is used to conducting intelligence investigations. It has considerable expertise in doing so. An agent doing intelligence work is an intelligence officer; an IO in Bureau parlance. Such people develop not only expertise but also a sense of the importance of the subject matter after all, “national security” concerns the very security – and existence – of the nation, and yet the same sense does not appear to be manifested, judging from recent events and the IG's report, in the DOJ, despite the latter's having a division dedicated to national security.

For instance, it is almost never stated that one of the great blows that our national security was dealt by Mrs. liar-Clinton was that to our reputation for trustworthiness and professionalism. Consider a CIA officer or FBI agent dealing with a potential highly placed foreign intelligence officer. In order to betray their own country, the foreign intelligence officer has to believe that the U.S. government will safeguard their identity. Yet now visions of Mrs. liar-Clinton's homebrew server and, because of her, Anthony Weiner's laptop computer must flash before that foreign intelligence officer's eyes as he considers making a leap of faith. Not to mention the psychological blow to our CIA and FBI intelligence officers: they too have to believe in the integrity of the system.

When one takes considerations such as this away from the table, one is left with what appears the case in the IG report: either feigned or no real understanding of the gravity of the offense on the part of the investigators and prosecutors.

But there is more to be said regarding FBI/DOJ bias in the IG's report. Former judge Jeanine Pirro castigated IG Horowitz on her Fox News show. She said in essence that in a murder case one proves the state of mind of the perpetrator by indirect evidence, and that therefore the IG could not reasonably find, as he did, that no investigative decisions were made because of bias. Especially because the report is full of evidence of a biased state of mind.

Mrs. Pirro forgets that in a murder trial there is a body. It is clear, obviously, that a crime has been committed.

But there is no crime as such committed by the players in the IG report. As the IG concluded, every investigative decision was made upon an arguably reasonable foundation.

This is not at all to say that the investigation was properly handled. But what we are dealing with is prosecutorial and investigative under-zealousness in regard to Mrs. liar-Clinton and rabid jihadic over-zealousness with regard to Mr. Trump. Neither of these are crimes; neither of these are, ordinarily, “prosecutable” ethical violations.

In this regard we should remember that what Andrew McCabe was alleged to have done was pretty darn bad: he leaked information to the press. But that's not a crime, and the criminal referral made by the IG in McCabe's case is on the basis of his allegedly lying to the FBI, a violation of 18 USC 1001.

That is why the IG did not pass judgment upon the players in the liar-Clinton espionage investigation. The IG is not the tool for this. We may desperately wish it to be, but in truth, it is the height of asininity to insist that a screwdriver will function the same as a hammer.

Indeed, we cannot expect the system to police itself on using a paradigm of rules-violations in the situation we are dealing with. It would be much easier were that the case. That is because often the problem is that discretion is misused, which is not something that can be policed by the system itself.

This should be obvious: after all, the IG said the DOJ/FBI followed the rules, but were biased. We might do well to recall that this is the general case with the Deep State and has been for some time; it is no news that the Deep State is biased against one of the two main political parties.

The historian Victor Davis Hanson in a recent article describes the same phenomena and goes on to state he believes that “For all the investigations and IG reports, for all the revelations of scandals and wrongdoing, there will probably in the end be little consequence.”

Hanson may be correct.

But he need not be.

We have a unitary executive at para.13. If the president can act to level the playing field and ensure fairness, then the matter is salvageable. If not, the outlook is grim.

Illegal immigrants in California allegedly used Di Napoli’s social security number to work illegally in the U.S., generating fraudulent income on his Federal Student Aid records. As a result, Di Napoli owed thousands of dollars in tuition and was forced to take a leave of absence from Colorado Christian University...And she wants to be presdent...hell no.

Illegal immigrants should immediately be turned away from US

Trump last week signed an executive order aimed at preventing the separation of immigrant families while the adults are being prosecuted for illegal entry. That order sought to allow the federal government to indefinitely detain families in holding facilities while they were being prosecuted, but Republicans and legal experts say it could challenged in court. Patriot missile fired at incoming UAV from Syria, which retreats

{ americanthinker.com } ~ The title of the Office of the Inspector General's report last week is snoozily bureaucratic-sounding: "A Review of Various Actions by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Justice in Advance of the 2016 Election."

The document confirms, for many of us, our worst fear: segments of our federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies are a clear and present existential danger to our republic.

Let's try to be as un-hindsight and objective as possible.  I am not interested in re-litigating the 2016 presidential election (my guy won), but here's a "what if?" that should keep you up at night.

Had Republicans and independents not outnumbered Democrats in crucial swing states, if we had lost 2016, how much of the contents of the I.G. report would we have known about?  Today?  Right now?

How much would we have known about the weaponized depth and breadth of secrecy and corruption and disdain for Americans whose taxes paid for officials to hate us, on our dime, and label us "uneducated, lazy POS"?

Zero – that's how much. 

If liar-Hillary Clinton were president, what would we have been talking about this past week? I'm not sure, but I'm certain we wouldn't be talking about this embarrassing and perhaps treasonous exposé of members of our law enforcement and intelligence communities. 

To be clear: I do not question the integrity of the boots – i.e., the agents. It's the suits who compromised the boots' abilities to do their jobs impartially. Is it possible that some FBI and DOJ officials could have walked off the job in remonstrance of Madame President? Sure; that would have given us some insight, but how much would have really been revealed? Not much, I suspect.

The Democrat coup

Revulsion for Trump and his deplorable supporters by Democrats and the DMIC (Democrat Media Industrial Complex) is, of course, nothing new. Truthfully, the fact that some within the FBI, including former director James Comey, felt this way isn't even what's most concerning. Even unelected bureaucrats are human, and bias is inherent in human nature. The extent, though, to which, for example, FBI agent Peter Strzok made it histeleological mission to undermine the will of the people and the Constitution he swore to uphold by promising to "stop" Trump from ever getting elected smacks of a trait some of the worst human beings to ever live have exhibited. Bias on steroids, mixed with an intense, addictive loathing of Trump and his voters, cherry-topped with a phony Russian collusion story, makes for one hell of a Molotov cocktail. The report's assessment that officials were not affected by bias is perhaps the most laughable statement ever uttered in the annals of American political history. 

The I.G.'s report nakedly exposes a direct attack on Americans who have done nothing wrong, as well as an equally disturbing coup of our national hallmark institutions of stability.

We are a nation of laws, not of men.  Some within liar-nObama's FBI believed the opposite and did their jobs guided by that belief. Why? Because none believed for one millisecond that Donald Trump would ever be elected. They acted with cocksure impunity because they knew that Empress liar-Clinton would keep the coup covered up and running smoothly forever.

Have you noticed the deafening silence from liar-nObama? Where's the outrage from the Tessio Republican establishment GOP? Most Americans don't yet grasp just how dangerous to our republic these Democrat cronies and quislings are. The DMIC continues, in perpetuity, its fetishized obsession with pornography actress heroines and has spent the last week regurgitating the debunked conspiracy theory that Comey cost liar-Clinton the election.  Don't count on the DMIC to channel its inner Woodward and Bernstein by addressing the threats posed to our nation and our future.

There's good news

Good can come from the revelations of the I.G. report. Exposure is the first step to conquering; had we lost in 2016, we'd never be able to stop this hydra, short of a military coup against the government.

I didn't doubt the president whatsoever when he promised to weed out the intelligence and law enforcement agencies. This is, without question, though, a Herculean task with what could very well have a Sisyphean outcome. But neither we nor the president can sit idly by; I, admittedly, won't be satisfied until we have agency house-cleanings that make Nuremberg look like a private island vacation with unlimited multi-decade-aged oak wood bourbon Old Fashioneds.

And let's remind ourselves that elections do, in fact, have consequences. There are so many among us who have been hopelessly swallowed up into the cult of Leninist Democrat progressive ideology that they see what liar-nObama, liar-Clinton, Comey, the FBI, etc. did as perfectly fine – if they even know about it at all, since they mindlessly consume the DMIC like the sheeple they are. We need to outnumber Democrat voters every election cycle, to keep momentum going from 2016. Reliably red states no longer exist, so turnout-turnout-turnout is the name of the reform game.

liar-Clinton used a personal email and personally configured server: likely illegal.

Comey used personal email: violation of DOJ policy (and can Congress please amend laws to prohibit any personal email use for official government correspondence, classified or not?).

liar-nObama claimed he found out about liar-Clinton's server and private email from The New York Times: the I.G. confirmed he lied. He exchanged 20 emails with liar-Clinton on her clintonemail.com account, and, according to the report, Comey the Cover-Upper referred to liar-nObama as a "senior government official."

The "it" in "it can't happen here" is happening now; it's been happening. Socialist DOJ Employee Harasses DHS Secretary 

by Political Editors:  This past Tuesday evening, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen went out to a DC-area Mexican restaurant for dinner. Not long after being seated, several socialist activists entered the restaurant to protest Nielsen for doing her job and enforcing President Donald Trump’s zero-tolerance border policy. One member of this group of activists was Allison Hrabar, who works for the Department of Justice. She is also a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. In other words, she’s a communist.

             During the protest, Nielson was called serval names, including a “villain” and a “fascist pig,” and was accused of separating illegal alien minors from their parents permanently. You know, the standard talking points from Democrats and the Leftmedia.
               After the protest made the news, due to the mainstream media’s recent obsession with this latest illegal immigration controversy, Hrabar’s presence at the protest and her employment status with the DOJ was brought to light. When questioned about her involvement in the protest, Hrabar defended herself saying that she wasn’t on government time and it was her First Amendment right. She added, “It feels really good to confront people who are actually responsible, which is what we have a unique opportunity to do in DC.”
               However, while the protest may have not been on government time, it appears that Hrabar has been engaging in political speech at work. She sent several political tweets during work hours, including on Wednesday at 1:56 p.m. when she tweeted, “Keeping families together in jail is not an acceptable solution.” The Daily Caller reports, “Despite Hrabar’s claims of keeping her personal politics outside of her time as an employee of the federal government, a look at her Twitter account, @allisongeroi, features tweets during the workday openly celebrating her behavior Tuesday night.” One of those messages stated, “No one who has ever made their living terrorizing immigrants deserves peace. If you see one in a restaurant, at a movie, or in your neighborhood, remind them of that.”

The group – informally known as OPEC plus – will decide whether to ease production cuts that were implemented in 2016 in an effort to drive up prices, which had crashed to a 13-year low. Those production cuts together with unanticipated supply disruptions and rising global demand proved extremely successful, with prices last month rising to their highest levels in more than three years. The fear now is that if the current cuts are sustained, the market could tighten too much, triggering a major price spike that would damage global growth. Two emerging situations are of particular concern: the continued implosion of Venezuela’s oil sector and re-imposed U.S. sanctions that could significantly reduce Iranian exports. The United States has been pressing OPEC to amend its production-cutting scheme. Just before President Donald Trump’s May 8 decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal, a senior U.S. official called Saudi Arabia to seek its help in making up for lost Iranian barrels. That request was bookended by two blunt tweets from Trump blasting OPEC’s role in driving up prices. “Looks like OPEC is at it again,” Trump wrote in April. “Oil prices are artificially Very High! { americanthinker.com } ~ The FBI brass must have needed hazmat suits to scrub DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz's report on agency misconduct in the 2016 elections, since the evidence of high crimes at the highest level of government was abundant. The truth is being hidden, by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, and the result is a sort of fiction representative of something out of George Orwell's '1984.' So, we must do everything within our power to force the issue, quite contrary to status quo voices in government and the media, who are not representing the U.S. Constitution and its objectives based on our founding virtues. We must, in fact, hold these perpetrators, in the FBI, the DOJ, and elsewhere within the government, accountable for illegally conspiring to prevent Donald Trump from winning the election and afterwards trying to unseat him from power. 
 
The five-hundred page IG report was released to Congress on June 12, 2018, and it barely scrapes the surface. It doesn't really reveal anything that the American people were not already aware had occurred. I made note of the Peter Strzok and Lisa Page texts in January 2018, just as the IG report recently did.
 
As reported by John Bowden on June 14, at The Hill,  Page texted Strzok in August 2016 and asked, "Trump's not ever going to become president, right? Right?"  "No. No he won't," Strzok responded. 
 
Why are these two FBI agents still working for the FBI?
 
And yet, in regards to investigative decisions by FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok, the lead investigator on the liar-Clinton email case and the Russia investigation, and Lisa Page, an FBI attorney, Inspector General Michael Horowitz incredibly offers us that there was "no evidence that the conclusions by the prosecutors were affected by bias or other improper considerations."
 
Radio host Mark Levin really put things in their proper perspective, on Thursday June 14, when he spoke with Fox News personality Sean Hannity and observed that the "cabal" of Strzok, Page, FBI Director James Comey, FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, and others intentionally tried to sabotage Donald Trump's run for president and worked to protect liar-Hillary Clinton from indictment. Levin further explained to Sean Hannity, as he observed: 

"I went through this major report here. I see several things. Number one, out of all the texts, all the documents, all the emails that have been reviewed. You know what's interesting, Sean? There is not a single pro-Trump text. There's not a single anti- liar-Hillary text. There's not a single pro-Trump senior FBI official. There's not a single anti- liar-Hillary FBI official. This was a cabal. And what these people had as their purpose, to interfere with a presidential election."

Among several other important items, the report also givesliar-Hillary Clinton a pass on the mishandling of Top Secret information, even though it's unfathomable that any career government official would not realize that an insecure system was not any place for those conversations. Seven email chains were classified at the Top Secret/Special Access Program level and went through liar-Clinton's private server in an unsecured manner, Steven Lee Myers reported on July 5, 2016 for the New York Times, and it is now known, that "foreign actors" Russians? did, in fact, access them, according to a recent report by Catherine Herridge and Adam Shaw at Fox News.
 
This was willful and criminal misconduct by liar-Hillary Clinton, because the gap between unclassified and Top Secret was so wide and obvious. She had to know her actions were criminal and illegal, and there was a purpose and a deception at work here, namely to cover up the illegal actions she and liar-nObama took in Libya and across the Middle East.
 
Horowitz's report split hairs with the definition of "gross negligence" -- concluding that the term encompassed conduct "so gross as to almost suggest deliberate intention" or something that falls just short of being willful.
 
Horowitz found that liar-Hillary Clinton did not intend to violate the law, much in the disingenuous fashion that former FBI Director James Comey also claimed. Any person capable of reading the law and cogent thought knows that our prisons are full of people whose crimes were not intentional, but they were still prosecuted and imprisoned for breaking the law.
 
This report has all the appearances of a whitewash and an evasion of the FBI's troubling role in this garbage barge of institutional roguery. Americans remain in the dark, due to questions left unanswered, such as what really transpired between former President liar-Bill Clinton and liar-nObama administration Attorney General Loretta Lynch during their July 2016 airport tarmac tete-a-tete, a few days before Comey let liar-Hillary, a presidential candidate, off the hook on the email server issue. How was it not a conflict of interest for Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe's wife to receive $700,000 for her state legislative race, from liar-Clinton's campaign bag-man, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe? How did the wife of a top Justice department official, Bruce Ohr, get on the payroll of Fusion GPS, the company that brokered the Steele dossier? And how did the FBI conceal the fact from the judges who ruled on FISA warrants against President Trump and his associates, that the Steele dossier was bought and paid for by the liar-Clinton campaign?
 
There isn't a hint of any IG report on other FBI abuse of power,  like inserting an actual spy, reportedly Stefan Halper, into President Trump's campaign. Neither is there any attention given to the FBI concealment of liar-nObama's mendacious denial that he knew anything aboutliar-Clinton's secret server.
 
What alternate universe is Horowitz from and when are these lawbreakers to the United States going to be prosecuted and thrown into the deepest, darkest dungeon, underneath a prison?
 
U.S. Attorney John Huber has supposedly been investigating several of these crimes since November 2017. His boss, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, has informed House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) that such an investigation is within the full scope of Huber's existing mandate. With 470 investigators, Huber has enormous investigative firepower that far exceeds the staff of any special counsel.

Americans need plain sight and new leaders with plain sight, pure and simple, because something evil is coursing through the halls of our government and in the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation these days. Anytime an average citizen can recognize the multiple acts of treason that were committed by Barack liar-nObama, liar-Hillary Clinton and their minions, through the State Department, the FBI and the Department of Justice, but career federal agents dismiss them as oversights or "unintended," something is terribly wrong, and if the Inspector General's report is any indication, our Republic is on its last dying legs, unless the patriots of America can right the Republic, peacefully or not.

Jerry Brown’s desk puts tens of millions of dollars into programs that could help undocumented immigrants fight federal efforts to deport them,”... the Sacramento Bee reports, “including opening up $10 million to hire lawyers for unaccompanied minors trying to stay in the U.S.” For that crowd, the Democrats’ $200 billion budget has even more to give. The budget “expands funding for immigration legal services offered through the Department of Social Services and public colleges,” and “includes $1.6 million to build a team of eight attorneys and investigators in the Labor Commissioner's office at the Department of Industrial Relations.” This team will enforce AB 430, “a state law that requires businesses to tell their employees when they’re contacted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.” As the report notes, “employers face penalties of $2,000 to $10,000 if they fe.ail to notify their workers of a pending immigration action.” Last year’s budget “put $45 million into providing legal services to immigrants,” which the Department of Social Services deploys to “hire nonprofit organizations that will work on immigration cases.” The new funding “steers some of that money directly to colleges. It gives $10 million to community colleges for immigration legal services, $7 million to the California State University system and $4 million to the University of California.” Still, it’s not done...A waste of money, why not help fix your tent cities in your state.

It was, “Are you an American or not?” A basic citizenship question, which any government of a sovereign nation should rightly be entitled to know.

             Why were the members of NAC so incensed by the citizenship question, especially when the committee is highly supportive of including more questions designed to further delineate various racial and ethnic groups? Is not the designation of “American citizen” arguably the most important identifier of the census? Critics claim that citizenship questions deter noncitizens from engaging in the census survey, but other smaller surveys of American households that include the citizenship question do not suffer this problem.
               Could the actual reason that leftists like NAC oppose the citizenship question have more to do with their globalist open-borders ideology rather than any genuine fears of discouraging noncitizens? liar-nObamaCare Repeal Back From the Dead? 

by Jordan Candler:  There are rumblings that health care reform is fixing to reemerge in Congress thanks to a months-long venture by the Health Policy Consensus Group. This conservative coalition is composed of The Heritage Foundation, American Enterprise Institute, Galen Institute and Manhattan Institute, among others.

             “The conservatives’ proposal would drive control of health care almost entirely to the states, reversing the ACA’s [Affordable Care Act’s] federal mandates that seek to provide basic minimum benefits and consumer protections, which Republicans argue limit people’s choice,” The Wall Street Journal reports. “Under the conservative plan, states would receive ACA money in the form of block grants to help low-income consumers buy coverage. Health savings accounts, which let people set aside tax-free money for medical expenses, would be expanded. Insurers could give discounts to people who are young or maintain continuous coverage.”
               The Journal adds: “The block grants would be the backbone of the conservative plan. Half of the grant funding would go toward supporting the purchase of private health coverage, and half toward helping low-income Americans get coverage, although the two categories would likely overlap. The grants would ban states from using the money to fund abortions, according to the draft proposal. Medicaid expansion would also be repealed, and people on Medicaid would be able to buy private insurance coverage.”
               The caveat, of course, is succinctly laid out by the Journal: “Republican leaders have said they have no appetite for another push to repeal the ACA before the November midterm elections unless such a bill clearly has the votes to pass. Republicans faced a series of obstacles — including internal division and unified Democratic opposition — as their effort to repeal the ACA collapsed last year. There is little evidence those dynamics in Congress have changed.”
               As David Thornton points out at The Resurgent, “The midterm elections may seal the fate of the repeal effort. If Republicans lose their majority in either the House or the Senate, any serious effort to repeal the ACA would be doomed. At that point, the best that Republicans could hope for would be a bipartisan effort to fix the worst problems of the law.”
               Fortunately, even if this new liar-nObamaCare repeal endeavor falters, there are liar-nObamaCare changes afloat. The Wall Street Journal editorial board this week revealed that “the Labor Department rolled out a final rule on AHPs,” or association health plans. The editors explain: “The point is to allow more small businesses to join forces to offer health insurance, using economies of scale to reduce costs and diversify risk. This is how corporations and unions manage health insurance in the large group market, either by paying an outside issuer or self-insuring.”
               It’s not a perfect solution, but it’s progress. “For once,” the Journal writes, “the test of a health-care policy will depend less on government dictates than on the choices of millions of Americans.”   ~The Patriot Post

California Targets Supreme Court

{ spectator.org } ~ California’s government has set itself up as Ground Zero for the resistance... epitomized by the 29 lawsuits the state has filed or joined with other states since the beginning of the Trump administration. Most of these cases are symbolic and serve mainly to energize the Democratic base. They make for great political theater and also offer an unusual narrative as left-wing California becomes the new redoubt of states’ rights. The courts will sort through that mess, but there’s a far more noxious way that California’s union-dominated Legislature is resisting changes at the federal level. In particular, the U.S. Supreme Court is soon expected to issue a ruling in the Janus v. the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees case. Given the makeup of the court, virtually all court watchers expect the high court to toss a law that requires public employees to pay union dues. This is a fabulous likely development, and could be the president’s most significant achievement given that Justice Neil Gorsuch is the swing vote. Since the 1977 Abood decision, the court allowed workers to opt out of the portion of union dues that is used for direct political purposes, but not for collective bargaining.  Janus’s plaintiffs argue, however, that all dues payments — even those related to contract negotiations — are inherently political. This surely is true, given that union contracts affect policy issues such as public spending, pension debt, and tenure...

Even worse, she compared the HHS facilities where the children of illegal immigrants are briefly housed to the infamous internment camps where Democrat icon FDR imprisoned 110,000 American citizens of Japanese descent. This comparison not only played into the hands of the very Democrats and partisan journalists who remorselessly savaged both her and her husband for eight solid years, it is wildly inaccurate. Mrs. Bush clearly knows very little about the plight of children caught up in the illegal immigration crisis, and even less about the internment camps she so glibly evoked. It’s blindingly obvious that she has been suckered by the propaganda relentlessly pumped out by the “news” media, completely taken in by their lurid images of wailing children and “cruel” DHS officials. FBI Has Not Yet Destroyed liar-Clinton Aides’ Laptops

In 2016, numerous news media reports cited sources saying that as part of immunity deals concluded with Mills and Samuelson, the FBI had agreed to destroy their laptops after the conclusion of its investigation because the devices likely contained classified material. The 500-plus page report authored by the Justice Department’s Office of the Inspector General cites consent agreements for obtaining the laptops as stating that the evidence would ultimately be destroyed. SPLC Finally Gets a Taste of Its Own Medicine 

by Jordan Candler:  In what amounts to a wholesale betrayal of its early work, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has morphed into a racial nemesis. It regularly stokes resentment with unnecessary and empty charges of discrimination and hate. Quilliam, which is headquartered in the UK and bills itself as “the world’s first counter-extremism organisation” with an emphasis on “promoting pluralism and inspiring change,” is just one of many groups that has been targeted by the hate-hustling SPLC.

             Quilliam founder Maajid Nawaz, an Islamic reformist, was highlighted in the SPLC’s “Field Guide to Anti-Muslim Extremists” a few years ago. In response, a lawsuit was filed by Quilliam, the outcome of which was revealed this week. According to a Quilliam press release, “The Southern Poverty Law Center, Inc. has apologized to Quilliam and its founder Maajid Nawaz for wrongly naming them in its controversial Field Guide to Anti-Muslim Extremists.” The press release adds, “The SPLC also agreed to pay a $3.375 million settlement, which Quilliam and Nawaz intend to use to fund work fighting anti-Muslim bigotry and Islamist extremism.”
               Of course, the $3.75 million figure is chump change relative to the SPLC’s $432.7 million endowment. It does, however, hopefully send a signal. How many more people and organizations stand on equally solid legal grounds to sue? Many, for sure. And a massive retaliation could theoretically bankrupt SPLC if litigation wasn’t so expensive. Sadly, money, not legitimacy, is at the heart of SPLC’s modern-day mission. As columnist Dennis Prager  writes, “Any organization that labels Ayaan Hirsi Ali — the extraordinary Somali-American woman who devotes her life to fighting for oppressed women, especially in the Islamic world — an ‘extremist,’ as the SPLC has done, is not a moral organization.” It is, for all intents and purposes, the Southern Poverty Lies Center.   ~The Patriot Post

Republicans Blast FBI Bias Exposed in the IG Report 

by Political Editors:  Over the last two days, FBI Director Christopher Wray and Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz have sat before both the Senate Judiciary Committee and the House Oversight Committee to face questions on the findings of the recently released IG report over the FBI’s handling of the liar-Hillary Clinton email investigation. The bombshell revelation from that report was that “senior FBI employees [were] willing to take official action to impact a presidential candidate’s electoral prospects.”

             On Monday, in what may have been one of the most pointed exchanges during the Senate hearing, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) countered Horowitz’s conclusion that he found no bias in the FBI’s eventual conclusion with its liar-Clinton investigation. Graham stated, “I’m not buying that the liar-Clinton investigation was on the up and up, and the reason I am not buying it is because the two people intimately involved, one, the lead investigator, clearly did not want to see Donald Trump become president of the United State.” He was referring to Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. Graham later noted that between former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and Strzok “someone is lying” about McCabe’s presence in a particular meeting. Horowitz effectively agreed.
               Tuesday, it was the House’s turn, and Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) didn’t hold back. Gowdy specifically focused on the IG report’s findings on the behavior and decisions made by former FBI Director James Comey. “We see Jim Comey and Jim Comey alone deciding which DOJ polices to follow and which to ignore,” Gowdy noted. “He appointed himself FBI director, attorney general, special counsel, lead investigator and the general arbiter of what is good and right in the world according to him.” Gowdy then pointed out the obviously biased actions taken by members of the FBI who conducted the liar-Clinton email investigation, stating, “These exact same FBI agents and attorney prejudged the outcome of the Russia investigation before. Prejudging the outcome of an investigation before it ends, and prejudging the outcome of an investigation before it begins,” Gowdy insisted, is the “textbook definition of bias.”
               Here are more of Gowdy’s statements: I am alarmed, angered, and deeply disappointed by the Inspector General’s finding of numerous failures by DOJ and FBI in investigating potential Espionage Act violations by former Secretary of State liar-Hillary Clinton.
               This report confirms investigative decisions made by the FBI during the pendency of this investigation were unprecedented and deviated from traditional investigative procedures in favor of a much more permissive and voluntary approach. This is not the way normal investigations are run.
               The investigation was mishandled. The investigatory conclusions were reached before the end of the witness interviews. The July 5th press conference marked a serious violation of policy and process. And the letters to Congress in the fall of 2016 were both delayed in substance and unnecessary in form.
               Moreover, the treatment afforded to former Secretary liar-Clinton and other potential subjects and targets was starkly different from the FBI’s investigation into Trump campaign officials. Voluntariness and consent in the former were replaced with search warrants, subpoenas, and other compulsory processes in the latter. Many of the investigators and supervisors were the same in both investigations but the investigatory tactics were not.
               Former Director Comey violated Department policy in several significant ways. The FBI’s actions and those of former Director Comey severely damaged the credibility of the investigation, the public’s ability to rely on the results of the investigation, and the very institutions he claims to revere.
               The report also conclusively shows an alarming and destructive level of animus displayed by top officials at the FBI. Peter Strzok’s manifest bias trending toward animus casts a pall on this investigation. Bias is so pernicious and malignant as to both taint the process, the result, and the ability to have confidence in either.
               The law enforcement community has no greater ally in Congress than me. But continued revelations of questionable decision making by FBI and DOJ leadership destroys confidence in the impartiality of the institutions I have long served, respected, and believed in.
               This is not the FBI I know. This is not the FBI our country needs. This is not the FBI citizens and suspects alike deserve.
               It is now urgently incumbent on Attorney General Sessions and Director Wray to take decisive action to restore Americans’ confidence in our justice system.
