Take on trade cheaters
The media said President Trump’s America First trade policy would destroy American jobs. President Trump kept his promise to get tough on trade cheaters – and we’ve seen jobs coming back to U.S. soil.
The U.S. International Trade Commission found South Korean companies Samsung and LG are dumping high-end consumer washing machines on the American market below fair market value. The threat of the U.S. imposing tariffs on the imports – a threat that is credible under the Trump administration – has led the Korean companies to announce they will begin producing their appliances in the U.S. Bingo – more jobs for Americans as a result of the Trump trade policy.
Recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital
President Trump kept his promise to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and now the Israelis want to name a train station after him. So much for the media smear that President Trump is anti-Semitic. Another lie exposed.
Exposing federal spying
Used to be liberals were warm toward Russia and suspicious of U.S. government intelligence agencies.
Forty years ago, they launched the Church Committee, named after Sen. Frank Church, D-Idaho, to investigate abuses by intelligence agencies, such as reports J. Edgar Hoover used the FBI to target Martin Luther King Jr. and the CIA tried to assassinate Fidel Castro.
The Church Committee established the permanent Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, which exists to this day, to exercise oversight on the CIA, FBI, NSA, et al.
Today, with credible evidence emerging that elements of the liar-nObama administration and the Democratic Party may have used the intelligence apparatus to spy on and monkey wrench Donald Trump, his campaign, his presidential transition and his administration, liberals want less oversight – not more. They impugn the patriotism of President Trump and anyone who would dare question what the spy agencies say or do.
The media were apoplectic when President Trump said his team was being “wiretapped.” It turned out that was true.
Democrats love state power, including police power, as long as it’s federal. As for local police, they have no problem labeling them racist, sexist, Islamophobic or whatever.
And as for Russia, now that the Bolsheviks are out of power, Democrats have fallen out of love.
In addition to cutting taxes, President Trump exposed the true ideology of liberal lawmakers and media. Democrats and their fellow travelers have defaulted to the far-left position that government drives the economy, and any cut to government revenues is a dagger aimed at the heart of the nation.
Congressional Democrats refused to participate in shaping the tax cut or voting for it. As businesses invest, expand and raise wages, Americans across the country will enjoy the benefits. Democrats and the media that have been predicting the sky will fall will once again be exposed as the Chicken Littles they are.
Trump exits Paris climate accord
President Trump withdrew from the Paris climate accord, and the media screamed the world would come to an end. But when liar-nObama signed the accord, liberals complained it was toothless. Either way, if this thing were so important, it should have been submitted to the Senate for approval as a treaty as required by the Constitution.
The Paris climate accord is a textbook example of how transnational progressivism works. Leftists use interlocking international agreements and institutions to enact progressive policies that would never make it through Congress.
The Paris climate accords, the U.N.’s Global Compact on Migration from which Trump also withdrew the U.S. and a score of other similar declarations are officially non-binding. But that’s not the end of the story. The rule-making body of the TransPacific Partnership “free trade” deal was empowered to create binding rules consistent with the Paris accord and other “international fora.” President Trump scrapped the TPP on his first day in office, so we dodged that bullet, too.
Trump exposes NFL protests for what they are
Aside from any other offenses, Colin Kaepernick and his enablers en-kneelers? are guilty of political malpractice for the national anthem kneel-in.
Martin Luther King would never have allowed such a protest. He understood he needed the majority of Americans – most of whom were white – to support his drive to gain equal rights for black Americans. Refusing to stand for the national anthem is sure to offend a good number of the very people the protestors need on their side.
At best, Kaepernick is ignorant of the basic precepts of building a broad-based movement. At worst, he is cynically manipulating concerns justified or not about racial inequality to push a Hate America agenda. Both things may be true.
Meanwhile, Roger Gooddell is guilty of management malpractice for allowing misguided protests to damage the profitability of the brand under his stewardship.
Since Donald Trump descended the escalator in Trump Tower in June of 2015, he has exposed one lie after another perpetrated by the media-political establishment.

The State Department Has Released Huma
Abedin’s Emails From Anthony Weiner’s Laptop
by Katie Pavlich {townhall.com} ~ After stonewalling for months, the State Department finally released thousands of emails belonging to top lizar-Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin Friday afternoon. Abedin stored the emails on Anthony Weiner’s laptop, her husband at the time, and they were found by the FBI during a criminal investigation into his sexual contact with underage girls. He is now serving time in federal prison.
The documents have been turned over after a lawsuit by government watchdog Judicial Watch.
“This is a major victory. After years of hard work in federal court, Judicial Watch has forced the State Department to finally allow Americans to see these public documents. It will be in keeping with our past experience that Abedin’s emails on Weiner’s laptop will include classified and other sensitive materials,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said about the release. “That these government docs were on Anthony Weiner’s laptop dramatically illustrates the need for the Justice Department to finally do a serious investigation of liar-Hillary Clinton’s and Huma Abedin’s obvious violations of law.”
When the emails were discovered by agents in October 2016, former FBI Director James Comey publicly announced the reopening of the liar-Clinton email investigation. She had been let off without charges for mishandling classified information earlier in the year.
During the original criminal investigation into liar-Clinton, agents found Abedin had printed classified information from liar-Clinton’s email server from her home computer. She was not charged or referred for charges after doing so.

Anti-sharia legislation is spreading in state legislatures across the US, as Donald Trump’s hostile stance towards Muslims appears to be emboldening rightwing Islamophobes critics of the Islamization of America.
The Guardian In 2017 there were 23 new bills introduced in 18 states attempting to prohibit the practice of Islamic religious law, or sharia, in US courts. The rash of new bills brings the total number of such legislative efforts since 2010 to 217 in 43 states, according to the Haas Institute at UC Berkeley which monitors the anti-sharia movement.
Legal experts point out that the bills are superfluous, as the US constitution is the supreme law of the land and any foreign laws are subservient to it. Sharia itself is less a set of laws than religious guidelines, one of which requires Muslims to be law-abiding according to the rules of whichever country they find themselves.
But Elsadig Elsheikh, director of the global justice program at the Haas Institute that carried out the research, said the purpose of the bills was to spread fear about Muslims living in America and to portray them as untrustworthy and out of step with American values. “Even if these bills do not become law they help to subject Muslims to surveillance and other forms of exclusion and discrimination,” he said. Of the 23 bills introduced to state legislatures this year, only two became law – in Arkansas and Texas. Four new states joined the growing list of legislatures where anti-sharia legislation has been attempted: Colorado, Connecticut, North Dakota and Wisconsin.
All but one of the bills were introduced by Republicans. The exception was in Idaho where a committee with an unknown party affiliation was behind the move.
Heidi Beirich, an expert on anti-Muslim hate groups at the (widely discredited) Southern Poverty Law Center, sees the rash of state bills as signs that the provocative language coming out of Trump’s circle is having an impact. “At the state level, the number one push for anti-Muslim activists is anti-sharia bills. It’s a recurrent effort.”
Trump himself called for all Muslims to be barred from entering the US when he was a presidential candidate, a sentiment that he has only barely tempered in his drive for a travel ban on several majority-Muslim countries. Several of the individuals he chose as key advisers also have a controversial track record.
Steve Bannon, Trump’s former chief strategist in the White House, once wrote a film script that warned of the country turning into the “Islamic States of America”. The former national security adviser Michael Flynn called Islam a “vicious cancer” inside all Muslims that has to be “excised.”
Charles Turner, who is researching a doctoral thesis on anti-Muslim legislation at the University of Utah, said that the plethora of bills had been “enabled by Trump and his close team. This is an expression of rightwing Republicanism that chimes with their populist base.”
The anti-sharia movement became a force in the US after 2010 in the wake of the furor over the plan to open a Muslim community center in downtown Manhattan led by Pamela Geller who dubbed it the “Ground Zero mosque” and said it was a “beachhead for Islamic supremacism”.
Since 2010 a concerted network has been created pushing anti-sharia bills in state legislatures. An anti-Muslim lawyer, David Yerushalmi, gave a boost to the efforts by composing draft legislation called the American Laws for American Courts, Alac, that has provided the template for at least 140 of the bills that have been introduced.
Most of the recent bills are careful not to refer overtly to sharia or Islam, as to do so would be to expose the legislation to the scrutiny of federal courts on grounds of religious discrimination. Instead, they talk of “foreign laws” being banned in US jurisdictions.
None the less, they have the potential to wreak damage. Nikiya Natale, legal director of the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of (designated terrorist group) CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations), said that anti-Muslim sentiment was growing in Texas which this year passed its third anti-sharia law.
“These laws further marginalize and ostracize the Muslim community. Republicans are playing to their base, particularly in smaller rural white towns, and Trump has made Islamophobia normal, mainstream.” (But it isn’t Islamophobia when they really ARE trying to kill you)
It’s no secret that the surge in Muslim economic migrants posing as ‘refugees’ who have been invading Europe, has resulted in a record-breaking number of car fires – otherwise known as ‘arson jihad’ – especially in France and Sweden. Now the Netherlands seems to be ‘under fire’ with more than 10 car torchings per day!
Voice of Europe(h/t Marvin W) The Union of Insurance Companies in the Netherlands is worried about the growing number of car fires in the country.
According to their statistics, the number has never been so high. With 2,808 car fires in the first nine months, 2017 is already a record breaking year, with 90 more car fires than in 2016 and 398 more than in 2015.
With 2,808 incidents in the first nine months of this year, 312 cars were burned per month: That’s more than 10 per day! According to a spokesman of the Union, most car fires are intentionally lit. They cost on average 10,000 euros per car and in total tens of millions of euros per year.
Most of these Muslim arsonists are of Moroccan origin. In addition to setting cars and other property on fire, they are pelting store windows with rocks and causing other public disturbances and vandalsim targeted at Dutch and non-Muslim residents.
Over the past decade car fires in Amsterdam, Culemborg and parts of Rotterdam have become a serious problem affecting the lives of people forced to live in the multicultural utopia of the modern Netherlands.
Officers with specialized training to stop suicide bombers will be on patrol at Sunday’s New Year’s Eve celebration when up to two million people will flood the streets of Times Square in New York.
In addition to its usual army of snipers, bag-inspecting officers and metal detectors, the department this year is relying on help from a growing corps of ‘vapor wake’ dogs, which are trained to sniff out trace amounts of explosive particles that trail behind someone carrying a bomb.
More officers will be positioned throughout the area this year and all parking garages in the vicinity of Times Square will be emptied in advance of the celebration and sealed off, so no one has a chance to sneak in a car bomb, police said.
As well, reflective markers will be placed on the outside of certain buildings with the goal of helping officers quickly identify where a sniper might be, the New York Times reports.
‘You will see an increase in heavy weapons, bomb squad personnel, radiological detection teams, and our technology to include over 1,000 cameras in and around the area of Times Square for the event,’ the NYPD’s chief of counterterrorism, James Waters, said at a news conference.
Officers involved in the New Year’s Eve security operation will receive a tactical bulletin and a training video on suicide bombers that they will be able to review on their department-issued phones starting Friday.
The training material will include instructions on protecting bystanders if officers suspect someone has a bomb and guidance on apprehending and disarming suspects with the assistance of the bomb squad, he said.
Detectives posted in hotels will keep an eye on guests, and additional emergency services and critical response teams will be on hand, Police Commissioner James O’Neill said.
O’Neill declined to say how many of the department’s 36,000 officers will work on New Year’s Eve, in order to keep would-be attackers guessing. In years past there have generally been 5,000; officers said there would be more this year.
People who want to see the New Year’s Eve musical acts and other entertainment up close in Times Square will have to pass by dogs trained to detect explosives and heavily armed officers, go through a magnetometer to check for weapons, have their bags inspected, and then repeat all those steps a second time.
Police will again use dump trucks filled with sand, police cars and cement blocks to close streets starting at 11am on Sunday.
Even so, police acknowledged a possible suicide bomber could manage to get close to large crowds of people before the checkpoints are set up. Asked how to stop someone in this situation, Waters said: ‘As a last resort: deadly physical force.’
Las Vegas
Homeland Security officials and the Las Vegas police department are gearing up for New Year’s Eve, which has been deemed a National Special Security Event this year.
Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo told the Los Angeles Times that there would be more snipers, aircraft surveillance and more than 4,000 metal barricades along the Las Vegas Strip, which will be pedestrianized for the celebration ringing in the new year.
The increased security comes even though the city expects fewer visitors this New Year’s Eve than in years past (334,000 people; down 1.2 percent from last year).
The Strip, along with the city’s McCarran International Airport, will be patrolled by 300 National Guard troops, Newsy reports.
Meanwhile, Nevada Department of Transportation officials told the Los Angeles Times that around $350,000 would be spent on protective measures.
‘Nobody puts on a New Year’s Eve show like Las Vegas, and never will it be as safe as it will be this year,’ a Clark County official told the Los Angeles Times.
Revelers will also not be allowed to bring large baggage into the pedestrianized section of the Las Vegas Strip.
San Francisco
After the December 20 arrest of a man who allegedly was inspired by the Islamic State to commit an act of terrorism at a tourist hot spot, the Northern California city is beefing up its New Year’s Eve security measures.
The nation’s second-most densely populated city will see ‘additional deployment,’ police said at at a news conference attended by San Francisco Gate.
Police said that will be ‘a very visible presence along the wharf area at Pier 39’.
The annual fireworks show along the Embarcadero will also see a greater police presence, ACB7 reports.
Police declined to cite specific counter-terrosim efforts in the interest of secrecy but also said there are ‘no credible threats’ to the city.
‘Our public needs to be able to do the things they want to do freely,’ Police Chief William Scott, with regard to terror threats. ‘We stop doing things that we as Americans or residents of this nation that we have a right to do, then we’re in the wrong place.’
Chicago
The nation’s Second City has deployed concrete barriers along the Magnificent Mile, the city’s major thoroughfare, and at Navy Pier.
More than 3,000 people are expected to attend festivities at Navy Pier.
A report from CBS Chicago notes that the increase in concrete barriers serves as an effort to stymie any vehicular attacks such as those seen in Nice, Berlin and New York in the past year.
Los Angeles
Los Angelenos will see beefed up security for the Rose Parade in Pasadena.
People will be allowed to camp out along the suburb’s Colorado Boulevard, where the parade takes place, but will not be allowed to drive down the street.
This new rule specifically meant to curtail the potential for a vehicular attack, CBS Local reports.
Wilson says for the parade, to ensure the safety of participants and the public, “all hands will be on deck.”
“You’ll see a lot of uniform patrols. We’ll have plainclothes officers that you won’t see. There are many layers of security,” explained Wilson.
Blocking trucks will be deployed.
“That’s every large event now. Every intersection will have blocking vehicles off of Broad Street. The main viewing area will have larger blocking vehicles, and more of them,” said Wilson.
Wilson says police will also be using a drone.
“We are using a drone this year. As far as I know, it’s the first time,” said Wilson.
The department has received clearance from the FAA to experiment with a drone.

by Katie Pavlich {townhall.com} ~ House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes is blasting the Department of Justice and FBI after officials ignored congressional subpoenas and blew threw a deadline to turn over documents related to the infamous Fusion GPS dossier.
In a letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, Nunes points out that not only did DOJ mislead his Committee about the existense of documents, they also unlawfully failed to comply with congressional requests.
"Several weeks ago, DOJ informed the Committee that the basic investigatory documents demanded by the subpoenas, FBI Form FD-302 interview summaries, did not exist. However, shortly before my meeting with you in early December, DOJ subsequently located and produced numerous FD-302s pertaining to the Steele dossier, thereby rendering the initial response disingenuous at best," Nunes wrote.
"As it turns out, not only did documents exist that were directly responsive to the Committee's subpoenas, but they involved senior DOJ and FBI officials who were swiftly reassigned when their roles in matters under the Committee's investigation were brought to light. Given the content and impact of these supposedly newly-discovered FD-302s, the Committee is no longer able to accept your purported basis for DOJ's blanket refusal to provide responsive FBI Form FD-1023s--documenting meetings between FBI officials and FBI confidential human sources-or anything less than full and complete compliance with its subpoenas," he continued.
The subpoenas were sent out in August and have been ignored for months.
Nunes is seeking documentation about the dossier, but is also demanding interview dates for the following officials:

In September 2016, Mark Feigin posted five insulting comments on the Islamic Center of Southern California’s Facebook page (before he was finally blocked by the ICSC from commenting):
“THE TERROR HIKE … SOUNDS LIKE FUN” (written in response to the Center’s “Sunset Hike” announcement).
“THE MORE MUSLIMS WE ALLOW INTO AMERICA THE MORE TERROR WE WILL SEE.”
“PRACTICING ISLAM CAN SLOW OR EVEN REVERSE THE PROCESS OF HUMAN EVOLUTION.”
“Islam is dangerous – fact: the more muslim savages we allow into america – the more terror we will see -this is a fact which is undeniable.”
“Filthy muslim shit has no place in western civilization.”
California is now prosecuting him for posting these comments, on the theory that they violate Cal. Penal Code § 653m(b):
Every person who, with intent to annoy or harass, makes repeated telephone calls or makes repeated contact by means of an electronic communication device … to another person is … guilty of a misdemeanor. Nothing in this subdivision shall apply to telephone calls or electronic contacts made in good faith or during the ordinary course and scope of business.
The posts, the California AG’s office argues, were “were made with the specific intent to annoy and harass the members of the ICSC,” because Feigin “was not trying to engage in any kind of political discussion but instead trying to vex members of the ICSC with his thoughts about their religion.” The posts are criminal because they constitute “repeated harassment from those who wish to mock and disparage their religion,” and, “[r]ather than attempt to engage in discussion or debate,” are “cruel and pointedly aimed at dismissing an entire religion and those who practice it.”
What could be more “intolerable” than for [the] ICSC Communications Director … to check the ICSC’s Facebook page and discover that someone has written “PRACTICING ISLAM CAN SLOW OR EVEN REVERSE THE PROCESS OF HUMAN EVOLUTION” as the Defendant in this case did …. Or how about … “Filthy muslim shit has no place in western civilization.” This is exactly the kind of repeated, annoying, and harassing electronic communication that PC 653m(b) is meant to deter. Protected speech? Political speech? Defendant’s posts on the ICSC Facebook page are neither of those things.
And the government’s argument makes clear that it’s going after Feigin for the content — indeed the viewpoint — of his speech: “The mere content and nature of the posts establish that they are not made in ‘good faith’ as Defendant would suggest but are meant to annoy and harass.” “Defendant is not seeking uriderstanding or guidance, instead he is posting in order to annoy and harass those who have beliefs with which he vehemently abhors.” The Facebook’s page public accessibility “does not translate into requiring ICSC or its members to sustain repeated harassment from those who wish to mock and disparage their religion.” “Rather than attempt to engage in discussion or debate, Defendant’s posts are cruel and pointedly aimed at dismissing an entire religion and those who practice it.” Nor is the government’s argument limited to vulgar epithets (“Filthy muslim shit”), though even those epithets are constitutionally protected when said outside the context of face-to-face “fighting words”; it applies just as much to the nonvulgar criticisms.
Of course, there’s nothing in the government’s logic that limits it to comments posted on the Islamic Center’s page, or for that matter on the Catholic Church’s page or the Westboro Baptist Church’s page or the Church of Scientology’s page. If the government is right, and the statute applies to posts on organizations’ pages, then it would apply to any repeated harshly critical posts
on an NRA page “intended to annoy” NRA employees,
on a pro-Trump page “intended to annoy” its operators,
or on any other ideological organization’s page.
The “during the ordinary course and scope of business” exception might exclude consumer complaints, but the government’s theory is that this exception doesn’t apply to this sort of criticism that is “cruel and pointedly aimed at dismissing an entire religion and those who practice it” — logic that would apply equally to criticism of political as well as religious ideologies. Nor can the courts constitutionally conclude that harsh insults of the NRA are “in good faith” and similar harsh insults of Islam are not.
This can’t possibly be consistent with the First Amendment; indeed, in U.S. v. Popa (D.C. Cir. 1999), the D.C. Circuit set aside a telephone harassment conviction of someone who left seven racist messages on the voicemail of then-U.S.-Attorney Eric Holder; and the court focused on the “political message” of the speech, and not on Holder’s status as a government official. Given that insults targeted to a particular person, related to a political message, are thus constitutionally protected, so are more general insults aimed at an ideology and all its adherents, whether that ideology is Islam, Scientology, conservatism, gun rights, or anything else. Laws aimed at preventing unwanted repeated messages to particular private citizens shouldn’t be applied to messages sent to ideological organizations (or to public officials). And this is especially so when it comes to annoying Facebook posts, which the organization can simply block.
Caleb Mason at Brown White & Osborn LLP — which many of our readers may know as the firm at which Ken White (Popehat) is one of the partners — has filed motions to dismiss the charges; I hope the court indeed promptly throws them out as unjustified under the statute, forbidden by the First Amendment, or both. But if the courts accept such charges, expect to see many more people, left, right, and otherwise, prosecuted for posting insulting messages on many groups’ web pages.
(I should note that Feigin is also being charged with making a threatening phone call to the Islamic Center; but that is a separate count, based on separate conduct, and it’s far from clear that Feigin was actually the person who made that call, as this CNN story [Scott Glover] describes. The Center employee who received the call claimed that it sounded like Feigin’s voice, which he heard when making a call to test the theory that the caller was the same person who wrote the Facebook posts. But the employee also continues to claim that the call sounded like the voice of someone who had left a different message on the Center’s voice-mail the day before — and that person has been proved to be someone other than Feigin.
Nor do the police have any phone records linking the threatening call to Feigin: They waited seven months before trying to get the records, and by then Citrix, which operated the calling number as part of its GoToMeeting teleconferencing system, had purged its records. This is why this post focuses on the Facebook posts, which Feigin did make, and not on the separate threatening phone call charge.)

Many prospective lawyers begin preparing in high school by joining the debate team and becoming involved with student government. Then they begin 4 years of undergraduate coursework, take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), apply to and complete 3 years of law school at an accredited law school, and achieve a juris doctorate degree. After finishing school, graduates must prepare for, take, and pass the bar exam. This not only entails passing an exam, but applying for entrance into the state bar. After successful completion and entrance into the bar in the state where one wishes to work, he or she can legally practice as a lawyer.
It generally takes about 7-8 years to become a lawyer. Four years are spent as an undergraduate achieving a bachelor’s degree, 3 years are spent in law school, and then there is additional time needed to study for and take the bar exam. Which means this guy (if all his college education were obtained here and only committed to being at lawyer at the college entry level) has had up to 8 years to become a citizen and has chosen not to. Not asked was his legal status. So we don’t know if he is on a Visa, or some other status. Just as likely an illegal himself. If that IS the case, why was he even approved to practice law in the first place?

OFA is 30,000+ strong and working to disrupt everything that our current president’s administration is trying to do. This organization goes against our Democracy, and it is an operation that will destroy our way of governing. It goes against our Constitution, our laws, and the processes established over 200 years ago. If it is allowed to proceed then we will be living in chaos very much like third world countries are run. What good is it to have an established government if it is not going to be respected and allowed to follow our laws? If you had an army some 30,000 strong and a court system stacked over the decades with judges who would allow you to break the laws, how much damage could you do to a country? We are about to find out in America! Our ex-president said he was going to stay involved through community organizing and speak out on the issues and that appears to be one post-administration promise he intends to keep. He has moved many of his administration’s top dogs over to Organizing for Action. In short, it is the shadow government organization aimed at resisting and tearing down the Constitutional Republic we know as AMERICA. Paul Sperry, writing for the New York Post, says, The OFA will fight President Donald Trump at every turn of his presidency and the ex-president will command them from a bunker less than two miles from the White House.” Sperry writes that, The ex-president is setting up a shadow government to sabotage the Trump administration through a network of non-profits led by OFA, which is growing its war chest (more than $40 million) and has some 250 offices nationwide. The OFA IRS filings, according to Sperry, indicate that the OFA has 32,525 (and growing) volunteers nationwide. The ex-president and his wife will oversee the operation from their home/office in Washington DC. Think about how this works. For example: Trump issues an immigration executive order; the OFA signals for protests and statements from pro-immigrant groups; the ACLU lawyers file lawsuits in jurisdictions where activist judges obstruct the laws; volunteers are called to protest at airports and Congressional town hall meetings; the leftist media springs to action in support of these activities; the twitter sphere lights up with social media; and violence follows. All of this happens from the ex-president’s signal that he is heartened by the protests. According to Wikipedia, it was first recorded on Dec. 8, 1932, by the Ray Noble Orchestra with vocals by Val Rosing. Probably these names are as unfamiliar to us today as the demonstration of tenderness is in our modern political culture.
This song and its sentiment came rushing back to me as I witnessed a stunning act of tenderness while crossing the Irish Sea last week on a ferry bound for Dublin.
While eating breakfast in the ship's lounge, I noticed a man playing with his young son, who appeared to be about 3 years old. The boy said "daddy" in such a loving way that it touched my heart and reminded me of special moments with my own children when they were that age.
What happened next was so heartwarming that I don't think I shall ever forget it. The boy suddenly became ill and began vomiting. The father never raised his voice or changed his demeanor. Instead, he picked up his son and held him close, saying, "That's all right" and "it will be all right," as the boy continued to be sick on himself, his father and the floor.
No one raised their voice. Others in the lounge did not stir uncomfortably. Members of the crew came over and began cleaning up the boy, the father and the floor, as if they were assisting someone who had just spilled a cup of coffee. I can't recall seeing anything like it.
When they were done, the father took the boy's stuffed bear, handed it to his son, who clutched it close, and then the father, still stained from the incident, pressed the boy to his chest until he fell asleep in his arms. I turned to him and said, "You're a good father." He smiled.
Why am I sharing this in a column? The answer is that tenderness and love are such powerful forces for good it is a wonder we don't practice them more often. 2017 was one of the ugliest political years in recent memory. Nasty things were said by Republicans about Democrats and Democrats returned rhetorical fire. Names were called and labels applied. It was repulsive and nothing good came from it, did it?
I am not so naive as to suggest that any of this toxic behavior is about to change in a new year, especially one in which there will be congressional elections, but is it too much to ask that we start treating each other more like friends than members of ISIS, more like fellow Americans than North Koreans?
If our goal is to change minds and hearts about issues important to us, which approach do you think might work better; treating political opposites like a burdensome mother-in-law who overstays her holiday visit, or demonstrating at least a degree of kindness and tenderness?
The song referenced above was written near the start of the Great Depression. It was a subtle suggestion for a man to love his wife who had nothing to wear except "the same shabby dress."
We all have much more these days, but material possessions and the unending quest for political power have robbed us of things of far greater and longer-lasting value and importance.
In this new year, could we hug each other a little more, speak a little softer and, yes, try a little tenderness, especially in our political discourse?
Let us spend some productive time actually thinking about the processes of how to eliminate the entrenched tentacles of the corrupt deep state, specifically surrounding the politicization of the FBI and Dept of Justice, with a reasonable amount of intellectual honesty toward the scale of the endeavor.
It is entirely understandable that people are frustrated because the administrative agents within the Deep State apparatus appear to operate in a system, of their creation, that allows them to operate above the rule of law. Righteous voices rising up in frustration demanding action; wholesale destruction of those usurping agents with extreme prejudice.
Fair enough.
If you spend time looking at the scale and scope, I mean honestly looking at how deeply enmeshed those ideological entities are within the system, you would also have to admit the problem is not just a matter of eliminating a few dozen DOJ lawyers and FBI agents. The issue is much bigger. Example:
•Congressional investigators ask for documents. •The current management of the FBI and DOJ refuse to turn over those documents. •Frustration explodes.
However, it is important to remember the House and Senate Judiciary and Intelligence Committees contain both Democrats and Republicans. Any investigative information released to any congressional committee immediately becomes information for corrupt political operatives (Example: Adam Schiff) to share with their corrupt ideological allies inside the FBI and DOJ who are at risk from the investigative material.
Those corrupt FBI and DOJ officials are then tipped-off to the evidence that might be used against them. The corrupt political operatives within Congress, and the corrupt political agents inside the FBI and DOJ, then have the opportunity to shape, modify and organize the information for their corrupt political operatives in the media.
Defensive positions are formed.
The whole damned system is corrupt.
The FBI was politicized and corrupted (Obama/Mueller/Comey).
The DOJ was politicized and corrupted (Obama/Holder/Lynch).
The CIA was politicized and corrupted (Obama/Brennan/Morell).
The ODNI was politicized and corrupted (Obama/Clapper).
The FBI counterintelligence units were politicized and corrupted (Comey/McCabe/Baker/Priestap/Strzok/Page).
The DOJ National Security Division was politicized and corrupted (Lynch/Yates/Carlin/McCord/Laufman/Evans/Weigman/Ohr); along with all of their colleagues, staff and support teams who willfully participated in the corruption.
The oversight committees inside congress are politicized and corrupted by ideological politicians who act to defend the interests of all the above.
Heck, the IRS was weaponized against American citizens; and by their own admission the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) was politicized and corrupted by the fraudulent and misleading information presented by the highest level FBI and DOJ officials – and then later used for political benefit and unlawful intention.
Several new developments happening today center around the FBI’s use of the Christopher Steele Dossier in gaining FISA warrants to wiretap and monitor the 2016 campaign of Donald Trump; ie. “The Trump Project”. Doug Ross continues to update the ongoing conspiracy Timeline – SEE HERE. And that timeline just gained a big addition from a recently discovered visitor to the White House.
Before going to the White House visitor angle, it’s important to express appreciation for Tablet Mag who did a deep dive into the Fusion-GPS connection to the creation of the Steele Dossier, and more specifically how Fusion-GPS head Glenn Simpson and his wife Mary Jacoby were instrumental in getting the dossier assembled and into the hands of the White House prior to the DOJ and FBI applying for the FISA warrant – SEE HERE.
Tablet Mag outlines how Mary Jacoby even bragged about getting the “Russiagate” narrative started:
A Tablet investigation using public sources to trace the evolution of the now-famous dossier suggests that central elements of the Russiagate scandal emerged not from the British ex-spy Christopher Steele’s top-secret “sources” in the Russian government—which are unlikely to exist separate from Russian government control—but from a series of stories that Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson and his wife Mary Jacoby co-wrote for TheWall Street Journal well before Fusion GPS existed, and Donald Trump was simply another loud-mouthed Manhattan real estate millionaire.
Understanding the origins of the “Steele dossier” is especially important because of what it tells us about the nature and the workings of what its supporters would hopefully describe as an ongoing campaign to remove the elected president of the United States.
[…] In a Facebook post from June 24, 2017, that Tablet has seen in screenshots, Jacoby claimed that her husband deserves the lion’s share of credit for Russiagate. (She has not replied to repeated requests for comment.) “It’s come to my attention that some people still don’t realize what Glenn’s role was in exposing Putin’s control of Donald Trump,” Jacoby wrote. “Let’s be clear. Glenn conducted the investigation. Glenn hired Chris Steele. Chris Steele worked for Glenn.”
This assertion is hardly a simple assertion of family pride; it goes directly to the nature of what became known as the “Steele dossier,” on which the Russiagate narrative is founded. (read more)
The Tablet-Mag outline shows the distinct trail of the finished Steele Dossier entering into the White House and how President Obama likely saw and reviewed the content. However, missing from the this report is an origination angle even more nefarious.
Remember, previous media reporting -in conjunction with Clinton campaign admissions- have confirmed the DNC and Clinton Campaign financed Fusion-GPS through their lawyers within Perkins Coie. Fusion then sub-contracted with retired British MI6 agent Christopher Steele to write the dossier.
The dates here are important because they tell a story.
The origin of the Clinton effort with Fusion-GPS was April 2016. That’s the same month Fusion hired Nellie Ohr, wife of DOJ Deputy Bruce Ohr, to gather opposition research on candidate Trump. It would be most likely that Nellie Ohr was in contact with Christopher Steele. DOJ Deputy Attorney Bruce Ohr was later demoted for his unreported contacts with Christopher Steele and Fusion-GPS founder Glenn Simpson.

In April 2016 Mary Jacoby shows up on White House visitor logs meeting with President Obama officials. In April 2016 the Clinton Campaign and DNC hired Fusion-GPS to organize the Russia research, that later became known as the “Steele Dossier”.

On Friday, the FBI made a HUGE announcement! They revealed a 30-page-document related to the infamous June of 2016 airport runway meeting that Bill Clinton had with then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch.
At first they denied the possession of such documents, but now they’ve decided to enlighten the public.
According to The Daily Caller it was reported that FBI attorneys released the documents as a response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, filed from the conservative group Judicial Watch.
Last October, the FBI told Judicial Watch that the Bureau is not in possession of any records that are associated to the meeting between Clinton and Lynch.
This meeting occurred while the Justice Department was investigating Hillary Clinton’s potential mistreating of classified information on her private email server. Firstly, the FBI were silent about the existence of documents regarding this case.
“Upon further review, we subsequently determined potentially responsive documents may exist,” FBI attorneys said in a statement.
At this moment, it’s still unclear what exactly these documents contain.
“The FBI is out of control,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “It is stunning that the FBI ‘found’ these Clinton-Lynch tarmac records only after we caught the agency hiding them in another lawsuit.
Judicial Watch will continue to press for answers about the FBI’s document games in court.
In the meantime, the FBI should stop the stonewall and release these new records immediately.”
