Joe Manchin: Mountebank From the Mountain State

He’s a dummycrats-Democrat defending his seat in a state that President Trump carried by 41 points and his single-digit lead over GOP challenger Patrick Morrisey is shrinking... Even worse, the latest polls show his support below 50 percent while the “undecided” percentage grows. Consequently, like all dummycrats-Democrats with drooping leads, Manchin has reverted to the demagoguery that defines his party. He has just released a campaign ad that shows him shooting a piece of paper after looking menacingly into the camera and lying about his opponent’s position on pre-existing conditions. This mirrors one of his 2010 campaign ads, wherein he blazes away at the cap and trade bill to demonstrate that he is a serious man of principle who would put the needs of Mountain State voters before the demands of the dummycrats-Democratic establishment. That year he was running in a special election to fill the seat of Senator Robert Byrd, who died in office, and was able to pull off the moderate imposture because he had no Senate voting record to live down. This time it’s different. His eight-year voting record shows him in lockstep with his Beltway master, Chuck scumbag/clown-Schumer, and even the ridiculous new ad is a defense of scumbag/liar-nObamacare: That’s me shooting the cap and trade bill, because it was bad for West Virginia.… Now the threat is Patrick Morrisey’s lawsuit to take away health care from people with pre-existing conditions. He is just dead wrong, and that ain’t gonna happen. The irony of reprising the goofy shotgun ad isn’t merely that it misrepresents Morrisey’s position on pre-existing conditions — Manchin’s rating with the NRA is a “D.” In fact, he has tried to use his position in the Senate to strip West Virginians of their Second Amendment rights. Manchin has twice introduced legislation that would have increased federal restrictions on the ability of law-abiding citizens to purchase guns. As to the Senator’s claims about Morrisey’s position on pre-existing conditions, he knows it’s nonsense. Left-Wing ‘Bribe’ To Vote Against Kavanaugh

{ westernjournal.com } ~ In the wake of last week’s raucous confirmation hearing for Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh... Maine Republican Sen. rino-Susan Collins said left-wing activist organizations are attempting to “bribe” her to vote against the nominee by staging a fundraising campaign that will go into effect only if she votes to confirm. And rino-Collins isn’t happy about it at all. Newsmax reported that a left-leaning activist organization, Mainers for Accountable Leadership, has teamed up with another left-wing organization called the Maine People’s Alliance to create a fundraising campaign to oppose rino-Collins in her 2020 Senate re-election in case she supports confirming Kavanaugh. It was also reported that donors’ credit cards will only be charged their pledged donations against  rino-Collins if she casts a yes vote. The money would not be used against her if she opposes Kavanaugh. In effect, rino-Collins told Newsmax, the groups are trying to buy her vote. “I consider this quid pro quo fundraising to be the equivalent of an attempt to bribe me to vote against Judge Kavanaugh,” rino-Collins said in a statement to Newsmax. “If I vote against him, the money is refunded to the donors. In last week’s grilling of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, they threatened to break the law. Some actually did break the law, and they all charged Judge Kavanaugh with barbaric beliefs, grievous wrongs, and writing for The American Spectator, which was one of their few accurate observations. Judge Kavanaugh’s wife had to remove his children from the hearing rooms. Possibly she removed them from the entire city of Washington, D.C. and surroundings. dummycrats-Democrats with policies that have revived the economy and rendered laughable Ex-President Barack scumbag/liar-nObama’s pathetic claim that the “new normal” is someplace around 2 percent growth. President Trump responds that his economy is now growing at a rate of some 4.2 percent, most likely even higher. President Trump is also beating The Political Party That Is Never Wrong with his judicial appointees. He has had confirmed 67 to the courts. More than any of his predecessors at this stage in their presidencies, and if all goes well he will have landed two appointees on the Supreme Court shortly. Finally, he is beating The Political Party That Is Never Wrong by rolling back that party’s stifling regulations and antiquated procedures. The party is desperate. The Political Party That Is Never Wrong is led by septuagenarians who are exhausted and feckless, and they are about to be replaced by greenhorns who are self-proclaimed Socialists. That is to say, the septuagenarians are about to be replaced by Machiavels whose politics are at best lifted from the European left or at worst lifted from Venezuelans, some of whom have to stand in line for toilet paper. Medicare reforms both parties can live with

But we think that’s too simplistic. While dummycrats-Democrats and Republicans remain sharply divided over the future of the Affordable Care Act, the law commonly known as scumbag/liar-nObamacare, there is bipartisan consensus that health care needs to become more affordable. There also is widespread agreement that Medicare, while crucially important to the country’s seniors, will need to be modernized and improved to be sustainable and successful for generations to come. We doubt the two parties will reach agreement over scumbag/liar-nObamacare any time soon, but we do believe that a few changes to Medicare could garner bipartisan support, ensuring that America’s seniors, at least, will have better and more affordable health care options. And we believe these proposals are politically viable, since neither party would need to concede core principles. What would bipartisan agreement look like? The DOJ/FBI 'Media Leak Strategy' Against Trump

Mark Meadows (R-NC) sent a letter Monday to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein requesting more information and explanation for texts between the two infamous anti-Trump FBI officials, Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. Meadows indicated that there is “evidence suggesting FBI/DOJ leaked to the media for their own purposes.” And those purposes were to damage President Donald Trump.

             Meadows notes a couple text exchanges between Strzok and Page wherein a reference is made to “a media leak strategy.” The first text in question is dated April 10, 2017, and reads, “I [Strzok] literally just gone to find this phone to tell you I want to talk to you about media leak strategy with DOJ before you go.” The following day, The Washington Post published a story where it is learned that the FBI had obtained a FISA warrant to engage in surveillance on Trump adviser Carter Page back in 2016. Needless to say, this story served to further the media’s narrative of a Trump/Russia collusion conspiracy. On April 12, Strzok again texted Lisa Page congratulating her on a job well done regarding two negative news stories about Carter Page. He then alerted her to two more news stories that will be coming out that will be “worse” on Carter Page than the previous ones.
               “While those two text messages alone are troubling enough, events surrounding these interactions call the motives of the investigative team into question,” Meadow’s wrote. He continued, “Other documents indicate DOJ officials, specifically Andrew Wiessmann [who is currently on dirty cop-Robert Mueller’s team] participated in unauthorized conversations with the media during this same time period.” Strzok was finally fired last month, but it would seem the culture of corruption continues.
               Recall the reason for why former Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was fired — he lied to the inspector general specifically regarding his involvement in releasing unauthorized information to the media. Now with this latest news, the details of this concerted effort by several individuals in leadership positions within the DOJ/FBI to damage Trump is becoming more clear. Slowly but surely, more pieces of the puzzle are falling into place, and this fiasco has “deep-state quasi coup” written all over it.

California DMV Gives Illegal Voters a Surge

{ frontpagemag.com } ~ Last week California’s Department of Motor Vehicles sent 23,000 “erroneous” voter registrations to the office of Secretary of State Alex Padilla, who maintains the list of registered voters... The DMV blamed it technical errors and said none of the erroneous registrations involved undocumented immigrants. Padilla was “extremely disappointed and deeply frustrated” and the DMV assured him it wouldn’t happen again. Legitimate voters have good reason to believe Padilla was not disappointed but delighted. The odds are strong that illegals make up most if not all of the newly registered voters. The registrations of illegals will be happening again, in greater numbers, as the November election approaches. The day after the 23,000 registrations made news, it emerged that from late April to early August, the DMV registered 182,000 “new voters,” with the largest number, 112,000, choosing “no party.” Neither the DMV nor Padilla would explain the numbers but the trend is evident and all by design. Under a 2015 voter registration law, the DMV automatically registered to vote those who obtain or renew a California driver’s license. As Padilla told the Los Angeles Times, “We’ve built the protocols and the firewalls to not register people that aren’t eligible. When the Washington press corps isn’t firing stupid questions at press secretaries, it’s lunching at places like the Old Ebtitt Grill while jotting down gossip, innuendo and talking points  from government insiders. The only industry with a more incestuous media than Washington D.C. is some 2,700 miles away in Hollywood. But lately the forbidden affairs between reporters and insiders make Hollywood seem tame. Take James Wolfe and New York Times reporter Ali Watkins, where the thirty year difference between the Senate Intelligence Committee security director and the 26-year-old Pulitzer nominee the most disgraceful Pulitzer jorno who hadn’t actually colluded in Communist genocide and his marriage didn’t obstruct trigger the scruples of media outlets getting the inside scoop between the sheets. The New York Times verbally shrugged it off. “Their relationship played out in the insular world of Washington, where young, ambitious journalists compete for scoops while navigating relationships with powerful, often older, sources.” Or as Harvey Weinstein called it, business as usual. by Media Editors:  I was raised a practicing Muslim and remained one for almost half my life. I attended madrassas, that is, Islamic schools, and memorized large parts of the Quran. As a child, I lived in Mecca for a time and frequently visited the Grand Mosque. As a teenager, I sympathized with the Muslim Brotherhood.

             At 22 while my family was living in Kenya, my father arranged my marriage to a member of our family clan, a man that I had never met. I ran away, made my way to Holland, studied there and eventually was elected a member of the Dutch parliament. Now I live in the United States.
               In short, I have seen Islam from the inside and the outside.  I believe that a reform of Islam is necessary and possible. And only Muslims can make that reform a reality. But we in the West cannot remain on the sidelines as though the outcome of this struggle has nothing to do with us. If the jihadists win and the hope for a reformed Islam dies, the rest of the world will pay a terrible price. The terror attacks in New York, London, Madrid, Paris and many other places are only a preview for what is to come.
               For this reason, I believe that it’s foolish to insist, as Western leaders habitually do, that the violent acts committed in the name of Islam can somehow be divorced from the religion itself. For more than a decade, my message has been simple: Islam is not a religion of peace.
               When I assert this, I do not mean that Islamic belief makes all Muslims violent. This is manifestly not the case: There are many millions of peaceful Muslims in the world. What I do say is that the call to violence and the justification for it are explicitly stated in the sacred texts of Islam. Moreover, this theologically sanctioned violence is there to be activated by any number of offenses, including but not limited to adultery, blasphemy, homosexuality and apostasy—that is, to leave Islam.
               Those who tolerate this intolerance do so at their peril. As someone who has known what it is to live without freedom, I watch in amazement as those who call themselves liberals and progressives—people who claim to believe so fervently in individual liberty and minority rights—make common cause with the forces in the world that manifestly pose the greatest threats to that very freedom and those very minorities.
               In 2014 I was invited to accept an honorary degree from Brandeis University for the work I have done on behalf of women’s rights in the Muslim world. That invitation was withdrawn after professors and students protested my criticism of Islam. My subsequent “disinvitation,” as it came to be called, was no favor to Muslims—just the opposite. By labeling critical examination of Islam as inherently “racist,” we make the chances of reformation far less likely. There are no limits on criticism of Christianity at American universities…or anywhere else for that matter. Why should there be of Islam?
               Instead of contorting Western intellectual traditions so as not to offend our Muslim fellow citizens, we need to defend both those traditions and the Muslim dissidents who take great risks to promote them. We should support these brave men and women in every way possible.
               Imagine a platform for Muslim dissidents that communicated their message through YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. These are the Muslims we should be supporting—for our sake as much for the sake of Islam.
               In the Cold War, the West celebrated dissidents such as Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Andrei Sakharov, and Václav Havel, who had the courage to challenge the Soviet system from within. Today, there are many dissidents who challenge Islam, but the West either ignores them or dismisses them as “not representative.” This is a grave mistake. Reformers such as Tawfiq Hamid, Asra Nomani & Zuhdi Jasser and many others must be supported and protected. They should be as well known as Solzhenitsyn, Sakharov, and Havel were in the 1980s.
               If we do in fact support political, social and religious freedom, then we cannot in good conscience give Islam a free pass on the grounds of multicultural sensitivity. We need to say to Muslims living in the West: If you want to live in our societies, to share in their material benefits, then you need to accept that our freedoms are not optional.
               Islam is at a cross roads of reformation or self-destruction.  But so is the West. I’m Ayaan Hirsi Ali of Harvard University for Prager University.

The revelations raise “serious concerns” with lawmakers, who question the pairs motives, as well as the bureau’s investigation into alleged collusion between Russia and President Donald Trump’s campaign. Former FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok and his paramour former FBI attorney Lisa Page exchanged text messages several months before the 2016 election that suggest the pair were writing an op-ed together and that the FBI seemingly “authorized” a Washington Post story on potential Russian interference during the November elections. Trump signs executive order to impose

The order will require Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats to conduct regular assessments about potential foreign interference in elections. After the reports are complete, the Treasury and State Departments would decide on appropriate  sanctions to impose on the potential actors or countries. The order, according to administration officials, is broad in terms of who and what can be sanctioned.

Bolton Rejects ICC Authority and Threatens Sanctions 

by Political Editors:  John Bolton, President Donald Trump’s national security advisor, announced Monday the new U.S. policy with respect to the International Criminal Court (ICC). Bolton stated, “The United States will use any means necessary to protect our citizens, and those of our allies, from unjust prosecution by this illegitimate court. We will not cooperate with the ICC. We will provide no assistance to the ICC. We will not join the ICC. We will let the ICC die on its own. After all, for all intents and purposes, the ICC is already dead to us.”

             Bolton made his statement to preempt the ICC’s attempt to initiate an investigation into U.S. military and government officials over dubious allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity during the war in Afghanistan. He explained, “This administration will fight back to protect American constitutionalism, our sovereignty, and our citizens. No committee of foreign nations will tell us how to govern ourselves and defend our freedom.”
               The U.S. has never recognized the jurisdictional authority of the ICC and has repeatedly rejected it as an infringement upon national sovereignty. But Bolton has not only rejected the ICC’s jurisdiction, he has further threatened the court’s legitimacy for its attempt to go after Israel. “The United States will always stand with our friend and ally, Israel,” Bolton declared. “We will not allow the ICC, or any other organization, to constrain Israel’s right to self-defense.”
               Bolton’s actions are consistent with Trump’s overriding agenda — blowing up the Washington establishment class’s globalist enterprises. Whether it be pulling out of the Paris climate accord, ending Barack scumbag/liar-nObama’s terrible Iran deal, exiting the fraudulent UN Human Rights Council, or demanding that our NATO allies pay their fair share (just to name a few examples), Trump isn’t afraid to drop policy bombs. Global Debt Soars to $169 Trillion: Will We Ever Learn?

Now it seems that some of the lessons learned back then are being forgotten... Growing debt burdens in emerging markets are igniting new fears of a crisis that could shake economies everywhere. This time, the debt is not mortgages or deficit spending. The new crisis involves corporate debt and bonds. What is setting off alarms is the recent collapse of the Turkish lira, which has lost more than forty percent of its value. Turkish banks and companies borrowed heavily over the past few years to finance infrastructure projects and even a mammoth cruise ship terminal. The lira's collapse makes it hard to repay loans or bonds made in dollars and euros. Turkey is not alone in its dollar- and euro-delineated debt burden. Similar loans and corporate bond issues can be found in Brazil, South Africa, Argentina, Russia, and other nations. They have taken advantage of cheap money to bolster their national economies and build infrastructure. Investors have likewise shifted their money to these markets, ignoring risks and creating a massive bubble. As a result of such policies, the McKinsey Global Institute reports that total world debt load is an incredible $169 trillion as compared to $97 trillion in 2007. This burden amounts to nearly two and a half times the size of the total global economy...

China's 'Digital' Totalitarian Experiment

Those cameras will... among other things, feed information into a national "social credit system." That system, when it is in place in perhaps two years, will assign to every person in China a constantly updated score based on observed behaviors. For example, an instance of jaywalking, caught by one of those cameras, will result in a reduction in score. Although officials might hope to reduce jaywalking, they seem to have far more sinister ambitions, such as ensuring conformity to Communist Party political demands. In short, the government looks as if it is determined to create what the Economist called "the world's first digital totalitarian state." That social credit system, once perfected, will surely be extended to foreign companies and individuals. At present, there are more than a dozen national blacklists, and about three dozen various localities have been operating experimental social credit scoring systems. Some of those systems have failed miserably. Trump Plays Patient, Not Naive, With North Korea 

by Thomas Gallatin:  Monday brought a report that North Korea has not stopped its nuclear weapons program despite Kim Jong-un’s public rhetoric indicating his desire to denuclearize. According to NBC News, “The newest intelligence shows Kim’s regime has escalated efforts to conceal its nuclear activity, according to three senior U.S. officials. During the three months since the historic Singapore summit and Trump’s proclamation that North Korea intends to denuclearize, North Korea has built structures to obscure the entrance to at least one warhead storage facility.”

             This latest report comes on the heels of last week’s seemingly positive development regarding North Korea’s annual military parade. It was learned that a certain element of the parade would be conspicuously absent — there were no ICBMs featured. This may have been a nod by Kim to Trump for the latter having canceled the U.S. and South Korea annual military exercises that have proven to be such a provocation to the North.
               So is Kim engaged in the same strategy his father took with the U.S., acting at playing nice in order to gain concessions without really changing anything? That’s almost undoubtedly what Kim has up his sleeve, but Trump’s not falling for it, despite his recent message of praise. Trump offered, “This is a big and very positive statement from North Korea. Thank you To Chairman Kim. We will both prove everyone wrong! There is nothing like good dialogue from two people that like each other! Much better than before I took office.” Meanwhile, the White House announced work has begun to set up a second summit between the two leaders.
               The fact is that behind the scenes, Trump isn’t conceding ground; he’s ratcheting up the pressure. The U.S. has been leading an international coalition to step up efforts in exposing and confronting international shipping that has sought to evade the sanctions against North Korea. In other words, Kim has not pulled the wool over Trump’s eyes. A better way to interpret Trump’s positive messaging on Kim is to understand that while Trump is giving Kim the slow squeeze, he is also giving him room to publicly save face. It may not succeed, but at least it’s not the same failed approach of the last 25 years.

Where, in fact, had that unity gone by the time the victory over Iraq had sucked Americans into a guerrilla war and America’s commander-in-chief in that war was being castigated right and left? I have a suggestion. It is that in 2001, under attack by — I do not think it is too much to say — the powers of darkness, Americans found and asserted their American identity. It took some effort. Vietnam, Watergate, and the liar-Clinton years had produced deep national divisions. The 2000 presidential election had dug them deeper still. Nevertheless, enough national spirit remained to further and facilitate the coming together of the American tribe, the American family in the interest of punishing suitably the murderous foes of that family. A source close to the president noted that Flood and his colleagues within the counsel’s office are generally opposed to declassification, out of the concern for the precedent it would set as well as any unintended consequences of making the information public. Sources cautioned that declassification could occur as soon as this week, though the uncertainty reflects the nature of the review process itself. Trump's tweet referred to a letter from Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., sent Monday to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. Meadows' letter raised “grave concerns regarding an apparent systemic culture of media leaking by high-ranking officials at the FBI and DOJ related to ongoing investigations” after more text messages between Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page were given to Congress. But Rep. scumbag-Elijah Cummings, D-Md., the top dummycrats-Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, and Rep. Are You Better Off Now Than Two Years Ago? 

by Nate Jackson:  Remember that massive tax cut Republicans passed last year without a single dummycrats-Democrat vote – the one which continues to fuel the current economic boom? Well, the GOP has a great strategy for reminding voters how much almost every American enjoys having more money in their paychecks — a newly announced House bill to make those tax cuts permanent.

             For the Leftmedia’s spin, we turn to Bloomberg: “The legislation — released as Republicans are at risk of losing their majority in the House — is seen as a last-ditch effort by GOP lawmakers to convince voters of the benefits of their new tax code. Polls consistently show less than half of Americans approve of the tax cut.”
               Yes, it’s true that the Republican strategy is a midterm play for votes, and it’s unlikely to become law just yet. And yes, it’s also true that polls indicate voters aren’t as keen as they should be on those tax cuts.
               Two observations: First, President Donald Trump has been remarkably effective in using the dummycrats-Democrats’ strategy against them, and the House GOP is taking a page from that same playbook. Good. Second, the   dummycrats-Democrats’ class-warfare messaging, amplified by the propagandists of their Leftmedia super PAC, has convinced a significant number of Americans that Republican tax cuts were really “only for the rich.” Midterms are historically tough for the president’s party anddummycrats-Democrats have owned a lead in the “generic ballot” for months, so this misconception is hardly surprising.
               Digging deeper, however, the main areas where the tax cuts are unpopular are blue states with high taxes, leaving voters unhappy with a reduced federal deduction for state and local taxes. In other words, dummycrats-Democrats are telling voters to blame Republicans for high taxes imposed by dummycrats- Democrats. Nice work if you can get it.
               Republicans are smart to run this packaged pitch to counter dummycrats-Demo lies, distortions, and cynical appeals to envy. The GOP bill not only sends the right message but forces dummycrats-Democrats into the uncomfortable position of voting to raise taxes on everyone. Oh, dummycrats-Democrats will trot out their talking points to win over their faithful welfare constituents, but the same blue-collar workers who ditched liar-Hillary Clinton for Trump know which party actually addressed their concerns.
               As much as Barack scumbag/liar-nObama might like to claim credit for a humming economy, it is the tax-cutting, regulation-reducing policies of Donald Trump and congressional Republicans that spurred it on. Frankly, every time Trump or a campaigning Republican opens his or her mouth, it should be to remind voters that they are indeed better off now than they were two years ago.

townhall.com } ~ Day two of the Kavanaugh hearings is well underway, and within moments of Chairman Grassley gaveling in the session this morning, the left-wing shrieking again commenced. Inside the first half hour, roughly 20 protesterswere hauled out of the room, approximately half of whom interrupted Kavanaugh's first few answers on judicial independence.  It's against this backdrop that I'd like address two of the ludicrous 'controversies' that emerged from yesterday's hearings -- apart from the dummycrats-Democrats' early scheme of interruptions and motions, that is.  As Cortney mentioned yesterday, the father of a slain Parkland student claims that Kavanaugh explicitly snubbed him during a break in the action, declining to shake his hand. Video shows the man approaching Kavanaugh, whose back is initially turned; he extends his hand toward Kavanaugh, who turns around, looking slightly confused. As the judge appears to be attempting to make sense of what's going on, Kavanaugh's security detail intervenes and shuttles him toward the exit:

Numerous leftists, including at least one Senator on the panel, seized on the stupid 'snub' narrative, in order to paint Kavanaugh in the worst possible light. This individual -- who is publicly committed to defeating Kavanaugh -- later claimed he's "certain" that Kavanaugh personally sent security to remove him after the brief interaction -- an assertion for which I've seen absolutely zero evidence.  That lack of evidence did not stop hosts at CNN and MSNBC from parroting both accusations:

I'm not inclined to call a grieving parent a liar, so I'll simply echo Jonah Goldberg in saying that I'd like to see more facts. But I'll add another point: I didn't chronicle the conduct of the hecklers and shouters above for no reason.  I mentioned it as a reminder of the atmosphere inside the room both yesterday and today. After a string of interruptions, it would be entirely natural for Kavanaugh to be apprehensive or reluctant when approached by a total stranger. Beyond that, Allahpundit makes a strong logical point, too: 

To believe the worst interpretation of the footage, you need to believe that this guy, who’s been angling to get himself nominated for the SupremeCourt since his 20s, would deliberately snub a murdered kid’s father at his confirmation hearing in full view of rolling cameras. He’s spent 30 years working towards this very moment, the whole country’s watching, up comes a Parkland dad to lobby him to … change his lifelong view of the Second Amendment in the next five minutes, I guess, and Kavanaugh backs away not for safety reasons but because a two-second grip-and-grin would be impossibly icky to him. { aei.org } ~ commie-Bernie Sanders has officially introduced legislation in Congress aimed at forcing large companies to reimburse the government for providing public benefits to their employees... Targeting Amazon in particular, the Vermont senator recently tweeted, “All over this country, many Amazon employees, who work for the wealthiest person on Earth, are paid wages so low they can’t make ends meet. The American taxpayer should not be subsidizing Jeff Bezos so he can underpay his employees.” Not only is this proposal unworkable and likely to harm the small number of people it targets, but it also mischaracterizes companies like Amazon and Walmart as reaping the benefits of lower wages, while the government picks up the tab. This argument fails on basic economic principles and ignores investments that many of these companies make in their entry level workers. Rather than “taxing” major companies for giving jobs to low skilled workers, Congress should find ways to make it easier for them to educate and train their entry level workers. One of the major problems with the proposed legislation is that it assumes that wages are set by the whims of company executives. But in a competitive labor market, wages are set by the supply and demand for labor, not some arbitrary decision making by executives. As economist Arindrajit Dube argued, research shows that benefit programs like food stamps and housing assistance actually reduce labor supply because they make work less attractive, which drives wages up instead of not down. He writes, “The key point is that it is difficult to imagine how food stamps would lower wages. If they don’t lower wages, they can’t be thought of as subsidies to low wage employers.” For the argument that safety net programs “subsidize” employers to ring true, wages would be higher in their absence, something I doubt proponents believe. The idea that wages should be based on anything other than market forces is antithetical to the basis of a free market economy. If companies are expected to cover the cost of public benefits for their employees, it turns wage determination into a matter of the size and type of family one has to support, rather than the value the worker brings to the company. It stigmatizes public benefit receipt and makes discrimination against recipients and those with large families much more likely...

Labor Day brought news that another U.S. serviceman had been killed in an insider attack by an Afghan soldier.

Why do we continue to fight in Afghanistan?

"We continue to fight simply because we are there," said retired Gen. Karl Eikenberry who preceded Gen. Nicholson.

"Absent political guidance and a diplomatic strategy," Eikenberry told The New York Times, "military commanders have filled the vacuum by waging a war all agree cannot be won militarily."

This longest war in U.S. history has become another no-win war.

Yet, if the 14,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan were pulled out, the regime would fall, the Taliban would take over, and the massacres would begin.

So America stays in and soldiers on. For how long?

The 17th anniversary of 9/11, now imminent, appears a proper time to take inventory of our successes and failures in the forever wars of the Middle East into which America was plunged in this new century.

In Afghanistan, the Taliban presence is more pervasive in more provinces than at any time since the regime was overthrown in 2001.

In the seven-year Syrian civil war we helped to ignite by arming rebels to overthrow President Assad, the conflict appears headed for its largest, bloodiest and most decisive battle.

The Syrian army, backed by Russia and Iran, is preparing to attack Idlib province. Three million people live there and 70,000 rebels are encamped, including 10,000 al-Qaida fighters.

In a Monday tweet, President Donald Trump warned Syria against attacking Idlib, and warned Iran and Russia against joining any such attack: "The Russians and Iranians would be making a grave humanitarian mistake to take part in this potential human tragedy. Hundreds of thousands of people could be killed." America and Russia both have warships in the Eastern Med.

National Security Adviser John Bolton has warned that Syria's use of gas in Idlib would trigger a U.S. military response. This is an invitation for the rebels in Idlib to conduct a false-flag gas attack to lure U.S. air power to their side.

Monday in Damascus, the Iranian foreign minister said the time had come to eradicate the terrorist enclave in Idlib. If the Syrians, Russians and Iranians are not bluffing, and the U.S. warnings are serious, we may be headed for a U.S.-Russia clash inside Syria.

Yet, again, what vital interest of ours is imperiled in Idlib province?

On Monday, Saudi Arabia admitted to having made a mistake when, using a U.S.-made fighter-bomber, a school bus was attacked on Aug. 9, killing dozens of Yemeni children in that humanitarian horror of a war.

The Saudi campaign to crush the Houthi rebels and return the previous regime to power in Sanaa could never succeed were it not for U.S.-provided planes, missiles, bombs and air-to-air refueling.

We are thus morally responsible for what is happening.

In Libya, where we overthrew Moammar Gadhafi, rival factions now control Benghazi in the east and Tripoli in the west. August saw fighting break out in the capital, threatening the U.N.-backed unity government there.

In Iraq, which we invaded in 2003 to strip of weapons of mass destruction it did not have, and to bring the blessings of democracy to Mesopotamia, rival factions are struggling for power after recent elections saw pro-Iranian and anti-American forces gain ground.

Meanwhile, the Iranian currency is sinking as a November deadline approaches for Europe to choose between cutting ties to Iran or losing U.S. markets. While the Tehran regime has threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz if its oil is denied access to world markets, it faces economic strangulation if it does not submit to U.S. demands.

When one adds up the U.S. dead and wounded from the wars we have launched since 2001 with the Arab and Muslim wounded, killed, orphaned, widowed, uprooted and turned into refugees, as well as the trillions of dollars lost, what benefits are there on the other side of the ledger?

Now we appear to be moving to confront Russia in Ukraine.

In an interview with The Guardian last week, U.S. special envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker said Washington is ready to build up Ukraine's naval and air defense forces, given Russia's continued support for separatists in the Donbass. The administration is "absolutely" prepared to supply new lethal weaponry, beyond the Javelin anti-tank missiles delivered in April.

But if a Ukrainian army moves against pro-Russian rebels in Luhansk and Donetsk, and Russia intervenes on the side of the rebels, are we really prepared to come to the aid of the Ukrainian army?

President Trump has yet to withdraw us from any of the wars he inherited, but he has kept us out of any new wars -- a record worth preserving.

{ freebeacon.com } ~ The National Rifle Association announced on Monday it awarded over $600,000 worth of grants to support local school security projects across the United States... The gun rights group said its 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation gave 54 grants to schools in 23 states in order to forward the goals of its School Shield program. The grant program includes public as well as private schools that teach students from kindergarten to 12th grade. The group said the grants were provided to those who applied for them in order to implement "industry best practices in security infrastructure, technology, personnel, training, and policy." The NRA said the grants will be used for a number of different purposes depending on the school's needs. The money may go toward building renovations focused on increasing security, improving communications systems, or providing emergency medical kits and live-saving training. The group said it's all part of an effort to provide real-world solutions to the threat of attacks on schools. "The NRA is proud to be at a forefront of providing meaningful solutions to safeguard our nation's schools," Oliver North, NRA president, said in a statement. "Protecting our most precious resource—our children—with substantive measures that work should be the top priority for all Americans. Thanks to the generous support of NRA members, many schools will now have the necessary funding to enhance their security."...

The F-35Bs are assigned to the Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 211 “Wake Island Avengers” and part of the air combat element deployed with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The 13th MEU and San Diego, Calif.-based Essex Amphibious Ready Group has arrived U.S. 5th Fleet and launched F-35Bs from the deck of amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD-2). “We will exercise all of the capability of the aircraft without prioritizing a specific one. It will all pertain to supporting the Marine on the ground,” Col. Chandler Nelms, who commands the Camp Pendleton, Calif.-based 13th MEU, told USNI News by phone from Essex on Saturday as the ship was operating off Djibouti. “We have the opportunity to run through the full gamut of our capabilities while we are here.” For two weeks, the F-35B and the rest of the 13th MEU’s combat firepower will train at military ranges in Djibouti and in the international waters off the coast. Globalism Undermines Patriotism 

by Arnold Ahlert:  Are patriotism and corporate multinationalism mutually exclusive concepts? In an age where socialism, despite its disastrous historical track record, is more popular than capitalism among Millennials, that question can no longer be ignored. Yet as columnist Steven Chapman, who extols capitalism as the “most dynamic force for economic progress in history,” further warns, “economic systems have to retain their moral and political legitimacy if they are to last.”

             Political legitimacy is a loaded term. Barack scumbag/liar-nObama’s administration had a penchantfor politically legitimizing certain industries and companies that aligned with its ideological agenda, even when it proved utterly disastrous for Americans. Taxpayers were left holding the bag for “clean” energy companies like Solyndra, and nothing drove up the costs of health care — and insurance company profits — more than scumbag/liar-nObamaCare.
               The Trump administration also plays the political legitimacy game, but in a different manner. His America First agenda may be equally intrusive, but it smacks of the moral legitimacy to which Chapman refers. While the 2016 election was about many things, what helped push Trump over the top were “flyover country” Americans disgusted with corporate multinationalism, a.k.a. globalism. These were the Americans whose jobs were outsourced and their futures marginalized, even as they endured bicoastal elitist lectures about the “net plus” of such a system.
               While this was occurring, members of the nation’s globalist-dominated Ruling Class also made it crystal clear that they are calculatingly indifferent to both the ravages of illegal immigration and unchecked legal immigration. As recently as last week, 146 suspected illegals were arrested at the Fresh Mark meatpacking plant in Ohio. The same plant was sued — in 2001 — for knowingly hiring illegals.
               E-Verify has existed since 1996. Last June, the latest effort to make it mandatory for every employer was rejected by the GOP-controlled House after members bowed to the “concerns” of the agricultural lobby that claimed it would produce a worker shortage.
               A combination of higher wages and conditional welfare for able-bodied Americans to address that shortage? Not part of the equation. Moreover, businesses willing to hire illegals seemingly have a government ally: According to the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI), there were as many as 39 million cases where names on W-2 tax forms did not match corresponding Social Security records — meaning millions of Americans have had their identities stolen, potentially by illegal aliens.
               This gargantuan level of mismatches occurred during the last four years of the scumbag/liar-nObama administration, and one is left to wonder whether the Social Security Administration was grossly inept — or quietly complicit.
               The legal immigrant part of the equation? While commie-Bernie Sanders’s muddle-headed “Stop Bad Employers by Zeroing Out Subsidies Act,” (Stop BEZOS Act) would force companies like Amazon to fully fund federal welfare programs used by their low-wage workers — ultimately incentivizing those companies not to hire anyone from low-income families — it cannot be ignored that the retail giant has been one of the foremost champions of H-1B visas, importing more foreign tech workers in 2017 than Facebook and Google combined. And while American STEM workers languish, research by the Seattle Times reveals that 71% of Silicon Valley tech workers are foreign born.
               In stark contrast to scumbag/liar-nObama, Trump’s “Buy American, Hire American” executive order has limited the use of H-1B visas. No doubt by sheer “coincidence,” America’s warehouse workers, including those who toil for Amazon, have won a 9.7% wage increase between February 2017 and April 2018.
               Regardless, the globalist agenda, and the seeming lack of patriotism that attends it, remains alive and well. Last May, shares of Boeing Airlines dropped when Trump announced America was withdrawing from the nuclear deal with Iran. The company had a $20 billion deal to sell jetliners to the world’s foremost state sponsor of terrorism. Boeing claimed the deal would support 100,000 American jobs.
               Providing America with jobs and cheap consumer goods, along with the idea that we can de-escalate tensions, is the rationale behind trading with communist China — while tolerating its tariffs, currency-manipulation, and intellectual property-stealing proclivities. That rationale is a globalist-minded status quo Trump is addressing, much to the globalists’ consternation.
               And well he should. In 2017, America’s trade deficit with China was $375 billion. In 2018, an increasingly belligerent China’s military budget is $175 billion. Money is certainly fungible, cheap consumer goods are attractive, and additional jobs are welcome. But is any of it a “reasonable” tradeoff for what amounts to facilitating a suicidal national security policy?
               The innumerable benefits of One World-ism in general, and free trade in particular, have been communicated to Americans with an almost religious fervor. Shouldn’t the potentially disastrous pitfalls get an equal hearing?
               Americans should also be more fully informed about behind-the-scenes corporatist machinations. Those wondering why a company like Nike would potentially alienate half of its American customers with its Colin Kaepernick branding campaign might be surprised to learn that Nike fits in with Apple, Starbucks, and Boeing as being among a number of multinational corporations that could have as much as $158 billion at risk in a trade war with China. That would be the same China “increasingly using North Korean factories to take advantage of cheaper labor across the border,” Reuters reports.
               Nike’s potential loss of American customers is nothing compared to the loss of a supply chain that includes slave labor. Moreover, Levi-Strauss has jumped on a customer-alienating, anti-gun bandwagon, just as the NFL has jumped on an equally antagonistic anti-police bandwagon. The common thread? To defeat the Trump trade reset by supporting anti-Trump domestic policies that obscure that horrible PR optics openly siding with China would engender.
               Who abets the multinational elitists’ efforts? “At the present rate, America will soon resemble the dystopias of novels such as 1984 and Brave New World in which all aspects of life are warped by an all-encompassing ideology of coerced sameness,”  writes columnist Victor Davis Hanson, who rightly holds the nation’s censorship-abetting tech titans, and their corporate media allies to account. Hanson further notes that “some $3 trillion in global capitalization is pledged to ensure that the nations’ computers, pads, and smartphones will not be polluted by traditionalist thinking.”
               Few things are more traditional than patriotism. “Despite origins steeped in sovereign favor and national interest, the modern corporation has increasingly seen its capacity for civic duty and engagement diminished,” columnist Yishai Schwartz explains. “Over time, concern for the national interest has been squeezed out by the twin forces of profit maximization and cosmopolitanism.”
               Cosmopolitanism? A lack of moral legitimacy that fuels increasing calls “fundamental transformation” is more like it. A lack of moral legitimacy that has produced repugnant reactions. “Fear of nuclear war, violent revolution and pandemics has seen San Francisco’s finest start commissioning multi million pound underground bunkers in New Zealand,” The Sun reports.
               Better post-apocalyptic isolation than rediscovering patriotism and morality? If that contemptuous worldview doesn’t change, it won’t be the communists or any other external enemy that hangs capitalists with the rope they’ve sold them.

More likely they’ll be hanging themselves.

While she’s the “favorite,” there’s still only a 14% chance she’s the author, according to the statistics from bets placed on PredictIt. Hill is the Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for European and Russian Affairs on his National Security Council staff. She is also on the Advisory Board of the Central Eurasia Project of the Open Society Institute in New York. The Open Society Institute is scumbag-George Soros’ grant-making network to fund political activities. If the author is indeed Fiona Hill, that would be consistent with the theory of former Trump Campaign Manager Michael Caputo that the author is a woman. He said as much last week, and reiterated that point again yesterday on CNN, telling host Fredricka Whitfield: “I’m fairly certain I know who it is. I have been going through the parlor games like everybody else has. Deadly Fire Exposes Millionaire’s Network

of Secret Tunnels Under Washington DC Suburb

{ freedomoutpost.com } ~ Ever since the beginning of the Pizzagate conspiracy theory, rumors have abounded of a network of secret underground tunnels in which children are trafficked to the elite in Washington D.C... Now, although there were no tunnels found under the Comet Ping Pong Pizzeria, a network of tunnels was recently discovered that makes these rumors not so far fetched. Daniel Beckwitt, a 27-year-old day trader who lived in Washington D.C. has recently been indicted on charges of second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter. The charges stem from the death of 21-year-old Askia Khafra—who died digging tunnels for the millionaire under his D.C. home. On September 10, 2017, a fire erupted at Beckwitt’s suburban home as Khafra worked in the basement. Khafra would be unable to escape and the discovery of his charred remains would lead to an investigation that would reveal the network of tunnels some 20 feet below the basement. The secrecy involving the construction of tunnels sounds like something out of a Hollywood movie, involving blindfolds and misdirection. As Boston.com reports, a police report says Beckwitt told investigators how he tried to preserve his project’s secrecy when he brought Khafra there. Beckwitt said he would rent a car, pick Khafra up and drive him to Manassas, Virginia, where he had the younger man don “blackout glasses” before driving him around for about an hour. Khafra spent days at a time working, eating and sleeping in the tunnels. Anonymous: Ye Shall Know Him by His Fruits

{ spectator.org } ~ The most surprising aspect of the furor surrounding the infamous unsigned New York Times Op-Ed, ostensibly written by a member of the Trump administration... is that anyone believes its author is a senior official. Assuming this person isn’t an employee of the Times, and it is by no means unknown for the Gray Lady’s journalists to fabricate quotes and attribute them to anonymous “officials,” the author of this hit piece is at most a mid-level staffer. Indeed, if this character is actually employed in the Trump administration, it is almost certainly at a level of insignificance verging on invisibility. How is it possible to be so sure? First, the editors of the Times are virulently anti-Trump. Their assurances about the prominence of this furtive functionary simply can’t be trusted. Moreover, as Phelim McAleer at Townhall points out, the nation’s “newspaper of record” has a long history of exaggerating the seniority of officials it quotes anonymously. He highlights a lengthy anti-fracking article that purported to quote “senior” oil industry insiders and federal analysts describing the extraction process as a colossal scam. It was eventually discovered that all the quotes had in reality come from an intern. Not coincidentally, the solipsistic voice and callow perspective that “Anonymous” brings to the Op-Ed tends to undermine the claim that it was written by a high-ranking official in any administration. Most senior members of the Trump administration are over 50 years old and many are well beyond 60. Yet, throughout the entire essay, there is an unmistakable thread of historical illiteracy and presentism that one would normally associate with a Millennial. This is evident in its very first sentence: “President Trump is facing a test to his presidency unlike any faced by a modern American leader.” Really. This means one of two things: Either “Anonymous” believes that the modern era began a couple of decades ago or that the Cold War, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Vietnam War, the Watergate scandal, the OPEC Embargo, the Iran Hostage Crisis, the fall of the Soviet Union, the liar-Clinton impeachment, the 9-11 attacks, and the Iraq War were all relatively minor events for the relevant presidential administrations. by Thomas Gallatin:  Well, he did promise he wouldn’t leave… Last Friday, Barack scumbag/liar-nObama again jumped into the political fray with a speech delivered at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Did anyone really believe he could actually sit back and keep his political opinions to himself, given that President Donald Trump has worked tirelessly to systematically dismantlescumbag/liar-nObama’s leftist legacy? Well, there may be some dummycrats-Democrats who are wishing that he had. Prior to the speech, scumbag/liar-nObama had only alluded to Trump in his public criticism, but on Friday the gloves came off as scumbag/liar-nObama called out Trump by name, charging him with sowing further division.

             This charge of division was ironic given the fact that scumbag/liar-nObama himself was a highly polarizing figure whose popular moniker of “Divider-in-Chief” among conservatives was well deserved. Notably, whilescumbag/liar-nObama’s divisive rhetoric and policy actions benefited him, they came at the cost of decimating the dummycrats-Democrat Party.
               Few can spin a yarn like scumbag/liar-nObama; indeed, it’s one of his greatest talents. But as is so often the case, scumbag/liar-nObama’s version of events never quite matched up to the reality on the ground.
               Take the economy. For eight long years Americans suffered under a near-stagnant economy, much of it due to scumbag/liar-nObama’s leftist agenda that imposed greater government control over the economy via increased regulations. Now that the economy is booming because of Trump’s deregulation and the Republican tax cuts (which scumbag/liar-nObama ignored), the former president insisted, “By the time I left office, household income was near its all-time high and the uninsured rate had hit an all-time low and wages were rising and poverty rates were falling. I mention all of this just so when you hear how great the economy’s doing right now, let’s just remember when this recovery started.”
                scumbag/liar-nObama also suffers from selective memory on scumbag/liar-nObamaCare — specifically how his and the dummycrats-Democrats’ massive tax, laughably titled the “Affordable Care Act,” was foisted upon the American people without a single Republican vote. He chastised Republicans for passing tax cuts that benefit all Americans by labeling that reform a danger to our democracy. scumbag/liar-nObama asserted, “Republicans in control of Congress and the White House, without any checks or balances whatsoever … provided another trillion in tax cuts to people like me who, I promise, don’t need it, and don’t even pretend to pay for them.”
               Meanwhile, scumbag/liar-nObama promoted the dummycrats-Democrats’ newest hard-left policy proposal of Medicare for All, stating, “dummycrats-Democrats aren’t just running on good old ideas like a higher minimum wage, they’re running on good new ideas like Medicare for All, giving workers seats on corporate boards, [and] reversing the most egregious corporate tax cuts to make sure college students graduate debt-free.” No, it’s just socialism repackaged.

Systemically attacked voting rights to make it harder for the young people, the minorities, and the poor to vote. Handed out tax cuts without regard to deficits. Slashed the safety net where it could. Cast dozens of votes to take away health insurance from ordinary Americans. Embraced wild conspiracy theories, like those surrounding Benghazi, or my birth certificate.” He concluded, “Because, in the end, the threat to our democracy doesn’t just come from Donald Trump or the current batch of Republicans in Congress or the Koch Brothers and their lobbyists” but from people failing to vote for dummycrats-Democrats.
               Actually, scumbag/liar-nObama’s speech served as a great reminder of why so many Americans voted for Trump. As Courtney Alexander, a spokeswoman for the Congressional Leadership Fund, observed, “Nothing would be better than the scumbag/liar-nObama-Pulosi team traveling the country nonstop until November, reminding voters of the failed scumbag/liar-nObama-Pulosi days of higher taxes and increased government spending.” Or as Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-SC) noted, “The best explanation of President Trump’s victory are the ‘results’ of thescumbag/liar-nObama Presidency!”

NSC Meets Lobbyist Who Backed Syrian Jihadists

A NSC source confirmed that the meeting took place. Moustafa frequently lobbied the scumbag/liar-nObama White House to support Syrian rebel groups against ISIS and the Assad regime. He pressured Congress and the  scumbag/liar-nObama administration to support a train-and-equip program that saw American weapons end up in the hands of al-Qaida and ISIS. The Trump administration canceled the operation. The NSC meeting focused on Syria's last remaining jihadist stronghold, Idlib province, Moustafa wrote. He did not detail what he said about it. Iran, Russia and the Assad regime reportedly are planning an assault on the province to eliminate this last pocket of Sunni jihadist resistance. Turkey has troops there. { sultanknish.blogspot.com } ~ “Like most American Jews, I was raised with the delusion that Israel was a safe haven for me,” Julia Salazar wrote on Mondoweiss, an anti-Semitic hate site, while denouncing the Jewish State. 

Salazar’s rant had appeared on a racist site whose creator had complained that his publication had been banned from DailyKos because of “my repeated insistence on talking about the large Jewish presence in the American establishment and the importance of Jewish money in the political process” and one of whose editors had declared, "I do not consider myself an anti-Semite, but I can understand why some are." 

In reality, Salazar had been baptized as a Catholic, her uncle was a Jesuit priest, and her brother made it clear that no one in the family was Jewish. The Jewish part of her past was as fake as the rest. 

And it was this biography that the dummycrats-Democratic Socialists of America candidate was running on. Thedummycrats-DSA had been hoping to turn Salazar into the next comkie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, with the support of radical lefties like Cortez, Cynthia Nixon and Zephyr Teachout by playing up her imaginary biography. 

But Salazar, a socialist candidate running for the State Senate in New York, had lied about that, and nearly everything else. Caught on video, claiming, “I immigrated to this country when I was little,” she had actually been born in Miami to an Italian-American mother and a Columbian immigrant father. Despite growing up in a mansion, she claimed to have a working class background. Her mother and her brother between them tore up most of her fake biography of a hardscrabble, immigrant life. 

But it was the original expose by The Tablet of Julia Salazar’s lie about her Jewishness that started the flood. And the response from Salazar and her supporters was to accuse the Jewish community of racism. 

Salazar, who had her own anti-Semitic history on Twitter, accused the Jewish publication that had exposed her appropriation of Jewish identity for anti-Semitic purposes of practicing, “race science.” The socialist candidate and her supporters insisted that as a “woman of color”, she was a victim of Jewish racism. The dummycrats-Democratic Socialists of America backed their candidate and repeated her anti-Jewish slurs. 

Salazar's campaign had put out a statement claiming that the "fact that, as a woman of color, I am facing accusations that my deeply held identity is a false one says more about the politics of Jewish identity" and was an example of Jews practicing the "bigoted policing of the identity of Jewish people of color". 

New York City DSA co-chair Bianca Cunningham echoed Salazar's anti-Semitic smear by dismissing outrage in the Jewish community as a question of "whether or not a woman of color can practice that religion." 

Instead of apologizing for her misrepresentations and exploitation of the Jewish community, the dummycrats-DSA’s socialist candidate had accused her Jewish critics of racism. And the dummycrats-DSA took up Salazar’s smear. 

Salazar’s meltdown wasn’t the first time that thedummycrats-Democratic Socialists of America had backed anti-Semitic candidates and then stood by them no matter how ugly their bigotry became. 

On the other side of the country, dummycrats-DSA-LA continues to back Maria Estrada for California State Assembly District 63 despite her praise for Farrakhan, accusations that Jews were exploiting the Holocaust, and attacking a Jewish dummycrats-Democrat for not keeping “your party, your religion and your people in check.” 

"Anyone who believes they are one of ‘God’s chosen people’ automatically feels superior and justified in all they do," Estrada ranted. 

Estrada’s racism was criticized by the Simon Wiesenthal Center, reported on in numerous Jewish publications, and yet the dummycrats-DSA and commie-Bernie Sanders’ Our Revolution, refused to withdraw their support. When contacted about her hateful views, both the local and national dummycrats-DSA, as well as the local and national Our Revolution organizations, failed to condemn Estrada. 

Estrada’s accusation that the Jews exploit the Holocaust was echoed by her fellow racist in New York. "These people exploit Holocaust for their hot takes," Salazar had tweeted. 

The anti-Semitic rhetoric of dummycrats-Democratic Socialists of America candidates like Estrada and Salazar may be inevitable. The dummycrats-DSA views Corbyn’s Labour, with its embrace of anti-Semitism, as its political model. 

The dummycrats-DSA’s 2017 convention featured a speaker from the Momentum movement within Labour, a subset which has been linked to much of the harassment of Jews in Labour. At his appearance, the dummycrats-DSA faithful burst out cheering for Jeremy Corbyn, an anti-Semitic bigot and terrorist supporter. 

Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, the former Chief Rabbi, described Corbyn as an “existential threat” to British Jews, who gives “support to racists, terrorists and dealers of hate, who want to kill Jews and remove Israel from the map" and uses “the language of classic prewar European anti-Semitism.” 

"Anti-Semitism has returned to mainland Europe within living memory of the Holocaust,” Rabbi Sacks warned. 

This is the bigot whose name the dummycrats-DSA conference met with unrestrained applause on the same day that it voted to support BDS. Is it any wonder that thedummycrats-DSA has refused to condemn Estrada’s anti-Semitism or Salazar’s malicious smears of Jews? 

The Labour speaker invited to the dummycrats-DSA conference was Marcus Barnett, who had cheered Venezuelan socialist dictator Nicolas Maduro. In addition to murdering protesters, seizing power and presiding over a country where there’s no drinking water, power or food, Maduro had at one point demanded that "the Jews that live in our lands" do something to stop Israel. 

Also at the dummycrats-DSA convention was a representative from Melenchon's France Insoumise. Melenchon’s blatant anti-Semitism, was so bad that it was even condemned by members of the dummycrats-DSA’s Jewish Caucus. 

But instead of insisting that the dummycrats-DSA end its ties to an anti-Semitic movement, Lane Silberstein, adummycrats-DSA and If Not Now member, weakly argued that, "Jewish socialists have had to contend with one of history’s most egregious eras of antisemitism— from which the left was not immune in promoting — and yet they continued to proudly identify as socialists… we will carry on that tradition and not shy away from working with the left.” The technical term for that is collaboration with anti-Semites. 

Much as when D.C. Council member Trayon White accused the Jews of controlling the weather, the same leftist activists who rushed out to defend Salazar, Women's March's Sophie Ellman-Golan and If Not Now's Rafael Shimunov, came to his defense. White makes frequent appearances in editions of the Washington Socialist, the house organ of the MDCDSA, which has been able to lobby the D.C. racist. 

It’s not only Julia Salazar who fundamentally misrepresented her background. Salazar, like commie-Ocasio-Cortez, is a bid at humanizing radical leftists and making their movements appear more approachable. 

But what’s behind the scenes is an ugly alt-left. 

The same year that Corbyn's man showed up to be hailed by the dummycrats-DSA in Chicago, Bhaskar Sunkara, a former dummycrats-DSA vice chair and Jacobin Magazine publisher, ran a GoFundMe fundraiser to "Internationalize the dummycrats-DSA Convention". 

Bhaskar's goal was to cover airfare for "members of Jeremy Corbyn's staff, Momentum, France Insoumise". The fundraiser's banner included the Soviet flag waving from a rifle barrel. 

That’s the same flag under which countless Jews were arrested, tortured, imprisoned in camps and murdered. It’s the same flag under which Judaism and Hebrew were effectively outlawed. It’s the flag of the regime that spread its anti-Semitic propaganda through the left at home and around the world. 

After the Julia Salazar scandal broke, Bhaskar Sunkara announced that he was so outraged by a Jewish magazine’s expose of the Socialist scammer that he would be donating to her campaign. 

The dummycrats-DSA’s anti-Semitism isn’t accidental or sloppy. It’s not just about Israel. It’s ideological. 

The dummycrats-Democratic Socialists of America attract anti-Semites for the same reason that Corbyn does. And, like Corbyn’s Labour, it ignores the problem, attacks Jewish critics and covers for its hateful allies. 

The media has made much of the rise of socialism. But the rise of the dummycrats-DSA won’t just be dangerous for freedom and civil rights in this country. It will pose a threat to the safety and security of American Jews. 

The dummycrats-DSA threatens to ‘Corbynize’ thedummycrats-Democrats into an anti-Semitic political movement.

Congress ready to call Trump’s bluff on shutdown threat

Turkey: Torture, Sexual Abuse Rampant in Prisons

In June of this year, Turkish Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gül repeated the same mantra. "We -- as the AKP government -- are implementing a policy of zero tolerance for torture," he said. Statements by many prisoners, their lawyers and human-rights defenders, however, tell a much different story; victim and witness accounts reveal that torture and other forms of unlawful abuse are increasingly widespread in Turkish jails and prisons. Inmates in a jail in Şanlıurfa in southeast Turkey, for example, tell of the plight of 27-year-old Uğur Yeloğlu, who they say has been isolated and tortured so badly since his imprisonment seven months ago that his level of functioning is like that of a baby. He has apparently lost his memory and is unable to walk, or even eat, on his own. In addition, these inmates said, the prison's healthcare staff are lax in their treatment of him. Yeloğlu was arrested in Istanbul in January for allegedly "aiding a terrorist organization." His lawyer, Abdülkadir Aslan, said that in spite of the many months his client has been in jail, his indictment has not yet been prepared by prosecutors. "We have officially appealed to authorities for my client to be transferred to a full-fledged hospital," Aslan said. "But we have not received a response yet. Just as the Constitution makes national security the President's highest priority, U.S. law mandates the secretary of state to develop and implement policies and programs "to provide for the security ... of all United States personnel on official duty abroad."

 

This includes not only the State Department employees, but also the CIA officers in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. And the Benghazi record is clear: Secretary liar-Clinton failed to provide adequate security for U.S. government personnel assigned to Benghazi and Tripoli.

 

The Benghazi Committee's report graphically illustrates the magnitude of her failure. It states that during August 2012, the State Department reduced the number of U.S. security personnel assigned to the Embassy in Tripoli from 34 (1.5 security officers per diplomat) to 6 (1 security officer per 4.5 diplomats), despite a rapidly deteriorating security situation in both Tripoli and Benghazi. Thus, according to the Report, "there were no surplus security agents" to travel to Benghazi with Amb. Stevens "without leaving the Embassy in Tripoli at severe risk."

I know a few things could've been done to prevent it.  But nobody's admitting to anything. Right now, my understanding is liar-Hillary didn't do a damn thing. And I wonder what she did as Secretary of State, because she disavows everything. She disavows the fact that she even got any call for security[.] ... If this is her Department, she certainly doesn't know how to run the Department. And she lied the whole time. She lied to me and called me a liar on TV.

The documents describe Libya as hardly the poster child for the Arab Spring, and echo warnings sent to State by Stevens himself. He was aware of an attack on a convoy carrying the British ambassador to Libya and a June 2012 attack where an improvised explosive device blew a hole in the Benghazi consulate wall. Nowhere in the 486 pages is mention of or concern for the effects of a video.

 

On Aug. 8, 2012, Stevens sent a two-page cable to the State Department entitled "The Guns of August: Security in Eastern Libya" and noted a dangerous "security vacuum" in and around Benghazi, as well as the presence of terrorist training camps. He was ignored.

 

The documents reveal that, early on the day after the attack, the Pentagon received intelligence briefing slides detailing that the June 6, 2012, attack was tied to al-Qaida-linked terrorists seeking an Islamic state in Libya and who threatened to attack U.S. interests there. It also said the June 6 attack "came in response to the 5 June 2012 drone strike on senior al-Qaida leader Abu Yahya al-libi."

 

That Sept. 11 was a terrorist attack was known before, during and after it took place.

 

"I personally ... think the U.S. Africa Command very quickly got to the point that this was not a demonstration, this was a terrorist attack," Gen. Carter Ham, head of the Command, testified behind closed doors in June 2013 before the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.

And that, Ham said, was the "nature of the conversation" he had with Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Martin Dempsey moments before a 30-minute meeting withscumbag/liar-nObama prior to the president resting up for his fundraising Las Vegas trip.

CNN Publishes Letter Reportedly Stolen off Trump’s Desk

In an article titled, “Read the stolen letter from Trump’s desk reported in Bob Woodward’s book,” CNN reports that Cohn stole a draft of the letter off Trump’s Oval Office desk in order to prevent a trade deal with South Korea from being terminated. CNN obtained this letter from a copy of Woodward’s new book, “Fear: Trump in the White House,” which will be available to the public on Sept. 11, where the letter is said to have been reproduced by Woodward. The news outlet reported that Woodward, “reiterated to CNN on Thursday that he stands by all his reporting in the book.” The image of the letter CNN published, is addressed to “His Excellency Moon Jae-in, President of the Republic of Korea” and “His Excellency Kim Hyun-chong,” the Minister for Trade, Industry and Energy. It is dated Sept 5, 2017, and is marked “Pre-decisional/Deliberative” at the top... If they knew the letter was stolen by didn't CNN or Woodward return it?

But maybe not. lowlife-Harris has run up nearly fifty thousand dollars in travel expenses — expenses that have been paid for by the city of Los Angeles. While it is common for the city to provide security for dignitaries who visit LA, lowlife-Harris has used LA funds for much more than that, according to a report by the Los Angeles affiliate NBC News 4. “Armed, plain-clothes LAPD officers were dispatched to California cities outside of Los Angeles at least a dozen times to provide security for U.S. Sen. lowlife-Kamala Harris at public events, media appearances, and a party. LA taxpayers paid for airline tickets, hotel stays, car rentals, and meals, according to detailed expense reports obtained by NBC News. The total cost of the trips, not including the officers’ overtime, topped $28,000.”...

Yet ANOTHER Thing the FBI Kept From the FISA Court

It seems that this court essentially acted as a rubber stamp for whatever Loretta Lynch and Barack scumbag/liar-nObama wanted to do, even if that meant spying on American citizens for no good reason whatsoever. Tell ‘em about the political origins of the dossier, don’t tell ‘em, what difference does it make if the Court isn’t even taking their role as intermediaries seriously? But let’s be generous and assume that the FISA court has ways of working these things out – of giving Americans the benefit of their rights – without holding an explicit hearing. We’re not sure how that works, but hey, it’s not the nation’s most secretive process for nothing. We’ll assume for the sake of argument that they gave the Page application lots of thought and internal deliberation before giving the Justice Department a blank check. If we go with that assumption, then we’re back to the FBI and what they did and did not share with the court. And according to a RealClearInvestigations story, we still haven’t heard the full story of the FBI’s glaring omissions...

{ townhall.com } ~ Since Robert Bork's "borking" 30 years ago, Senate Judiciary Committee hearings for a high court nominee by a Republican president have become predictable.

dummycrats-Democrats, who favor a "living Constitution," meaning whatever they think the founding document ought to say, are pitted against "originalists," who believe the document speaks for itself and should be taken as something only slightly less compelling than holy writ.

The hearings for Brett Kavanaugh are following the script with one addition. dummycrats-Democrats, who know they are unlikely to block Kavanaugh's confirmation, are using it to stimulate their base ahead of the November election.

Time was when a "well qualified" endorsement by the American Bar Association, which Judge Kavanaugh received, was enough for most senators to vote in favor of a nominee. Not in a day when politics has invaded even funerals.

It's amusing to read and watch how the media have tried to set up the hearings. A New York Times story worries that President Trump could "flip" the Supreme Court and slow down or reverse its move in a liberal direction. That's the point of elections, isn't it?

dummycrats-Democrats may also rue the day they got behind former Senate Majority Leader Harry dinky-Reid's successful effort to invoke the "nuclear option," allowing federal judges to be confirmed by a simple majority vote, rather than 60 votes, which had been the previous marker. dinky-Reid's efforts did not include Supreme Court nominees.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell last year broadened the rule to include them. The Republican majority likely has enough votes to confirm Kavanaugh and might even get a dummycrats-Democrat or two on board, especially those who face tough re-election bids in states that Trump won.

If "impeccable" defines anything, it defines Judge Kavanaugh's record as a jurist. While dummycrats-Democrats and the secular progressives who have recently organized demonstrations against his confirmation will try to paint him as a die hard, right-wing ideologue, his record says otherwise.

Kavanaugh issued more than 300 opinions as a judge on the D.C. Court of Appeals, most of which appeared non-controversial at the time. That he read the law correctly can be seen in the Supreme Court's endorsement of his positions -- 13 in the cases that were appealed to that bench. While dummycrats-Democrats on the Judiciary Committee complain they haven't received all the documents they wanted -- clearly a slowdown tactic -- their staffs have reviewed more documents than any previous nominee to the Supreme Court.

The real focus of these hearings for dummycrats-Democrats will be on social issues and whether Kavanaugh believes all Supreme Court rulings are sacrosanct and must be respected. Primarily that means abortion, same-sex marriage and the remnants of scumbag/liar-nObamacare.

Using that argument, the Dred Scott decision that decided African-Americans had less value than whites and Plessy v. Ferguson, which said separate but equal facilities were OK by the Constitution, would still be the law of the land. When one is headed in the wrong direction, the worst decision is to keep going, instead of turning around.

Will Sen. Dianne Fein-stein (D-Calif.) allude to Kavanaugh's Catholic faith during the hearings? She did at last year's confirmation hearing for Amy Coney Barrett to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Feinstein employed an old anti-Catholic stereotype that claims Catholics are unable to separate church and state because they place their religious allegiances before their oath to the Constitution.

Favorite lines on opening day: "The Senate is the conscience of America," uttered by Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.). Say what? And Sen. Richard Durbin (D-Ill.), claiming that people in his state ask him, "Are we going to be all right?"

Kavanaugh enjoys bipartisan support outside the Senate, but that won't matter. It's all about politics now, not the Constitution or the law. Kavanaugh is likely to win confirmation, but the behavior of some senators may further sour the public's view of Washington.

Whether the hearings will affect voter turnout in November is unknown. Pollsters predict doom for Republicans, but their record of failure with past forecasts note the 2016 election does not give them much credibility.

An open letter to Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari lamented that since he came to power, the plight of Christians has gone from bad to worse: 16,000 Christians have been killed—many in the name of jihad—since June 2015, when Buhari became president. The letter states: "... the estimated 30 million Christians in Northern Nigeria who form the largest minority in a predominantly Muslim environment, have for decades, suffered marginalization and discrimination as well as targeted violence especially in the hands of organized mob violence and violent groups such as Boko Haram and Fulani Herdsmen...

{ americanthinker.com } ~ Social media entered our world with a promising offer: you can communicate here – with virtually everyone on Earth... For years, a wide range of views were tolerated, and every popular voice enriched the creators of the platforms by drawing millions of eyes and ears. These platforms fast eclipsed other means of communication specifically because they offered such an open and effective means of reaching out to others. But now social media have a near monopoly on public discourse, and the age of censorship has arrived. Ideas and messages that once were tolerable are now forbidden. Users have spent a decade or more building their audience with a consistent message – and thus filling the platform-owners' pockets – and now find themselves banned when their message hasn't changed. In no other arena of commerce would owners be considered justified in arbitrarily changing the rules to exclude certain customers, particularly if the reasons were amorphous, largely unexplained, and applied to a certain type of customer and not to others. Something sinister is afoot. Understanding and dealing with it responsibly is essential to preserving the free exchange of ideas – a bulwark of our civic culture and a foundation of American exceptionalism. The argument is made that these platforms are private firms with a right to determine their own policies. But that raises the real questions, which are these: 1. Have social media in fact become the public soapbox? The answer here is undeniably "yes," and certain facts about this reality are undeniable. First, in America, the soapbox has a uniquely revered position; it is supposed to be a level platform on which any can stand. Our right to speak freely has some limitations, but those limits are spelled out by centuries of experience and jurisprudence. The idea that anyone outside law enforcement can stand next to the soapbox with a cudgel is alien to the American experience. Second, is it remotely possible that private property rights can apply to the public soapbox? Amazon, commie-Sanders, and the Socialist Family Feud 

by Brian Mark Weber:  On Tuesday of this week, Amazon joined Apple as the only other company with a $1 trillion valuation. Other corporations moving in to join the list include Microsoft and Alphabet (which owns Google). On the subject of giant corporations, we’re told that while their CEOs draw multimillion-dollar annual salaries, many of their employees hover just above the poverty line. But is this true? And if so, what should be done?

             Most Americans likely agree that workers deserve a fair wage, and that CEOs like Amazon’s billionaire socialist Jeff Bezos (owner of The Washington Post) are paid too much money, but in a free-market system the wages and salaries of workers are determined by the value of labor within the system, not by bureaucrats or polls. And this prompts the question: Should the federal government force companies to pay higher wages?
               commie-Bernie Sanders, the socialist senator from Vermont, thinks so. And he’s got an even bolder plan. Along with Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), commie-Sanders has drafted a bill called the Stop BEZOS (Stop Bad Employers by Zeroing Out Subsidies) Act, which would tax large corporations at a rate equal to the amount of federal benefits their employees receive from the government.
               (Did we mention that Sanders owns three homes, including a $600,000 lake house?)
               commie-Sanders relies on bogus research that, as Investor’s Business Daily notes, lumps in with regular workers “those putting in as little as 10 hours a week, 27 weeks of the year. It’s hardly surprising that some of these part-time, transient workers rely on government benefits, but that’s not Amazon’s fault.”
               Emily Stewart writes at Vox, “How the commie-Sanders/Khanna legislation would be implemented is not clear. Sanders’s office says that the IRS would have to consult with the United States Department of Agriculture, Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to issue regulations to make it work. They haven’t offered more specifics.” No surprise there. The devil is always in the details.
               And don’t think for a second that if this bill ever becomes law it would be the last stage in the process. Imagine if dummycrats-Democrats had the power to nationalize health care again or guarantee other government services for every citizen. Corporations would then be forced to cover the social costs of all their workers, not just those at the lower end of the economic ladder.
               But this plan is pure political theater to motivate the dummycrats-Democrat base in the midterms. After all, a recent poll revealed that they now prefer socialism to capitalism. And if dummycrats-Democrats take back Congress in November, look for a bill like this to come up for a vote.
               commie-Sanders’s proposal to tax corporations is yet another “feel good” progressive solution that solves nothing.
               In fact, it causes other problems that we’re already seeing in certain industries. One of the side effects of the Stop BEZOS proposal includes companies replacing workers with automation or raising consumer prices in order to pay for the tax. They may also be more likely to find loopholes in order to avoid the taxes. And since there are plenty of middle-class Americans who receive  government assistance in one form or another, companies may be hesitant to hire low-income workers in the first place. This is the slippery slope of socialism trying to ride on the back of capitalism, and it ends up hurting workers and consumers every time.
               As for the notion raised by some on both the Left and the populist Right that we’re already subsidizing employees of these companies, the American Enterprise Institute’s Michael R. Strain writes, “Walmart, Amazon and McDonald’s are not being subsidized by taxpayers because some of their employees receive assistance from safety-net programs. Instead, employers of lower-wage workers are surely reducing safety-net rolls.”
               Nonetheless, dummycrats-Democrats are portraying this issue as the rich taking from the poor. And this, of course, is their go-to strategy for mobilizing working-class and poorer voters to support various progressive schemes. But the reality is far more complex, and the government is simply not capable of replicating the value of work in a free-market system.
               The Stop BEZOS Act is only the first step, but instead of penalizing corporations, we need to focus on the root causes of wage stagnation and poverty. We should be looking to expand the economy and raise wages through free-market solutions rather than oppressive taxation. Doing so can help us ensure that fewer of our fellow Americans will need a social safety net in the first place.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein owes us an answer. To my mind, he has owed us an answer from the beginning, meaning when he appointed Special Counsel duty cop-Robert Mueller on May 17, 2017. The regulations under which he made the appointment require (a) a factual basis for believing that a federal crime worthy of investigation or prosecution has been committed; (b) a conflict of interest so significant that the Justice Department is unable to investigate this suspected crime in the normal course; and (c) an articulation of the factual basis for the criminal investigation — i.e., the investigation of specified federal crimes — which shapes the boundaries of the special counsel’s jurisdiction. This last provision is designed to prevent a special counsel’s investigation from becoming a fishing expedition — or what President Trump calls a “witch hunt,” what DAG Rosenstein more diplomatically disclaims as an “unguided missile,” and what Harvard’s Alan Dershowitz, invoking Lavrentiy Beria, Stalin’s secret-police chief, pans as the warped dictum, “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.” In our country, the crime triggers the assignment of a prosecutor, not the other way around...

He was in Fargo to campaign for GOP Senate candidate Kevin Cramer. “I could think of four or five, mostly people that either I don’t like or don’t respect,” he said. While he didn’t name names, he predicted that the identity would soon become public and said people think it’s “disgusting” the piece was published. Or were they informed by her activist handlers on the left. She also took the time to call out "Second Amendment extremist groups" and "other domestic terrorists." "Like many of my brothers and sisters of color, I am not comforted by deputies with handguns, let alone assault rifles," she opined, which leads one to wonder whether Miss Eastmond and her media coaches have really thought through what would happen in, say, Chicago, if we disarmed the police. Eastmond was followed by two children with chronic health problems, both of whom have apparently been led to believe that if Kavanaugh is confirmed, they will be banned from seeking treatment for their conditions and forced to breathe dirty air. Hunter Lechance, a 15-year-old asthma sufferer, warned that if Kavanaugh is confirmed it would mean "more air pollution, more asthma attacks, and more premature deaths for the millions of Americans unfortunate enough to be afflicted with asthma like me."... Where are the parents of these dumb kids? The Pentagon provided no timeline for Mattis’ decision on Friday. Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen sent the request last month after announcing in April that the agency was looking into ways the military could help complete the president’s promised wall. “We're going to have our wall, and we're going to get it very strongly. Who Sacrificed Everything, Nike?

by Nate Jackson:  In 2013, America lost a true hero — Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, the “American Sniper.” As Mark Alexander wrote in 2014:
               Kyle’s first long-range kill was against an Iraqi suicide bomber who was walking toward a group of Marines with a hand grenade. Of that kill, he said, “The woman was already dead. I was just making sure she didn’t take any Marines with her.”
               During his four combat tours as a SEAL sniper, he recorded 160 confirmed kills and 95 probables, and became known as the “Devil of Ramadi” by al-Qa'ida and other Iraqi insurgents. His longest shot was taken in 2008 near the Baghdad slum of Sadr City, where he arrested an RPG-carrying insurgent at more than 2,000 meters.
               Over the course of his 10-year military career, Chris was shot twice and survived six IED explosions. He earned two Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals.

             We recall Kyle’s heroism and sacrifice because his widow, Taya, so thoroughly took down Nike over the company’s  disgraceful ad featuring unemployed former NFL quarterback and social justice warrior Colin Kaepernick. In a blistering public letter to Nike, Taya Kyle wrote:
               At best, that is all Colin sacrificed… some money and it’s debatable if he really lost his career over it. Maybe he sacrificed the respect of some people while he gained the respect of others. Or maybe he used one career to springboard himself into a different career when the first was waning. I don’t know. What I do know is, he gained popularity and magazine covers he likely wouldn’t have gotten without getting on his knees or as you say, “believing in something.” I’m also thinking the irony is that while I am not privy to the numbers, it’s likely he gained a lucrative Nike contract. So yeah… that whole “sacrificing everything” is insulting to those who really have sacrificed everything.
               You want to talk about someone in the NFL sacrificing everything? Pat Tillman. NFL STARTING, not benched, player who left to join the Army and died for it. THAT is sacrificing everything for something you believe in.
               How about other warriors? Warriors who will not be on magazine covers, who will not get lucrative contracts and millions of followers from their actions and who have truly sacrificed everything. They did it because they believed in something. Take it from me, when I say they sacrificed everything, they also sacrificed the lives of their loved ones who will never be the same. THAT is sacrificing everything for something they believe in.
               Indeed, the one who sacrificed everything isn’t the ingrate millionaire who hates his country despite his success and who turned a failing football career into social justice martyrdom and a lucrative ad campaign. It’s America’s Patriot Armed Forces and their families — particularly the ones who lost their lives serving the country they love. It’s men like Pat Tillman and Chris Kyle.

The BIG Lie: Fein-stein on 'Deaths From Illegal Abortions' 

by Jordan Candler:  As corroborated by their incessant political theater, the dueling top interests of dummycrat-Democrat thespians are gun control and abortion, both of which they consider sacrosanct — to the point that these issues compete with each other as the litmus testfor judicial nominees. Therefore, no off-the-rocker rhetoric is off limits if it means dummycrat- Democrats succeed in ratcheting up tension and obstruction.

             The most outlandish bout of political theater on abortion this week occurred while Sen. Dianne Fein-stein (D-CA) was lecturing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh — an originalist whose jurisprudence doesn’t bode well for judicial despotism like Roe v. Wade. On Wednesday, Fein-stein ridiculously asserted, “In the 1950s and ‘60s, the two decades before Roe, deaths from illegal abortions in this country ran between 200,000 and 1.2 million. … So, a lot of women died.”
               These numbers were supposedly obtained from the Guttmacher Institute, but as the Washington Examiner’s Becket Adams reveals, Fein-stein was spewing fake news: “The Guttmacher Institute has reported no such thing. What Sen. Fein-stein claimed during Wednesday’s hearing is either her own ignorant misreading of the institute’s reporting or it’s an intentional, outright lie.”
               Instead, Guttmacher reports, “Estimates of the number of illegal abortions in the 1950s and 1960s ranged from 200,000 to 1.2 million per year. One analysis, extrapolating from data from North Carolina, concluded that an estimated 829,000 illegal or self-induced abortions occurred in 1967.” Fein-stein is conflating two very distinct things — the estimated number of unlawful abortions every year before they became legal, and maternal deaths. So her assertion this week that up to 1.2 million mothers died because abortion wasn’t yet legal — and therefore hazardous to the mother — is a fabrication.
               Yet she does unintentionally make a very important point. A huge number of people diddie every year during that period. In fact, a life is taken every time an abortion occurs, regardless of whether or not abortion is legal. Legality makes no difference. Remember, 60 million babies have been terminated since abortion was legalized. Fein-stein told Kavanaugh, “How you make a judgment on these issues is really important to our vote as to whether to support you or not.
