Both Candidates Attack Gold Star Families
Two presidential candidates. Two incredibly stupid things said about Gold Star military families. So let's compare.
At the Democrat Convention, Khizr Khan, the father of a soldier killed in Iraq, gave a speech in which he directed this to Donald Trump: "You have sacrificed nothing and no one." Khan also asserted that Trump wouldn't have even let his son into the country. Khan is a Muslim, and his wife stood behind him wearing a head covering. That's where Trump first focused his attention, responding, "He was very emotional and probably looked like a nice guy to me. His wife, if you look at his wife, she was standing there. She had nothing to say, she probably — maybe she wasn't allowed to have anything to say." Trump then launched into some talking points about terrorism. Challenged on the sacrifice question, Trump first asked, "Did liar-Hillary's scriptwriters write it?" Then he pointed to the sacrifices he's made like ... creating jobs and working for a Vietnam memorial. Ok then. In another venue, Trump insisted that Khan had "no right to stand in front of millions of people and claim I have never read the Constitution."
"Here's a handy rule of life," says Iraq veteran David French. "Always honor Gold Star families. Always." Indeed, if Trump wants to be the commander in chief, he's going to have to do better than attacking Gold Star families, policy disagreements notwithstanding. Given his history of declaring that the military will obey him even on illegal orders, he has a long way to go. But that's what you get from a man who speaks just about everything that pops into his head, with little or no filter.
That's bad, but liar-Hillary Clinton's calculated lies are far worse. Pat Smith, the mother of Benghazi KIA Sean Smith, spoke at the Republican convention, and again reminded the country that liar-Clinton lied to her face about the cause of the attack. Addressing the families in 2012, liar-Clinton said, "We've seen the heavy assault on our post in Benghazi that took the lives of those brave men. We've seen rage and violence directed at American embassies over an awful internet video that we had nothing to do with."
liar-Clinton lied and has been lying about her lies ever since, all while accusing Smith of lying. Over the weekend, she responded to Smith's RNC speech, saying, "I don't hold any ill feeling for someone who in that moment may not fully recall everything that was or wasn't said." Just because liar-Clinton is an expert in reiterating, "I don't recall," doesn't mean Pat Smith or the other family members of the slain don't remember what liar-Clinton told them.
Worse than the lies are the deaths — liar-Clinton is responsible for the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi. And worse still is the fact that the nObama/liar-Clinton foreign policy team is to blame for hundreds of thousands of deaths and general chaos in the Middle East.
Trump says dumb things with regularity, while liar-Clinton is cold, deceitful, and based on her own record is utterly disqualified from serving as commander in chief. Welcome to the 2016 election. -The Patriot Post

A Tale of Two Ships
The Navy has a long history of honoring great Americans by naming ships after them. Recently the Navy endowed this honor on retired Marine Col. Harvey Barnum, a Medal of Honor recipient. Barnum was one of only two MoH recipients to be denied a ceremony at the White House because of all the negativity surrounding the Vietnam War at the time. It's fitting that the USS Harvey C. Barnum Jr. be named in his honor, especially recognizing his acts of valor in serving our nation in the field of battle.
Conversely, Navy Secretary Ray Mabus, continuing the nObama administration's homosexual constituency appeasement, announced another ship naming that is disgraceful. A John-Lewis class oiler will be named for Harvey Milk, a Korean War Navy vet and homosexual activist. Milk was murdered in 1978 in San Francisco, and became a martyr for the homosexual movement. In 2009, Barack nObama posthumously bestowed upon Milk the highest civilian award — the Presidential Medal of Freedom — and in 2014, had the USPS issue a postage stamp his honor. What nObama did not mention at either ceremony is that Milk was a predatory pedophile, and his relationship with young boys was documented by his homosexual biographer and close friend Randy Shilts, who died of AIDS in 1994.
Two ships. One named in honor a genuine heroic Patriot, and the other to honor a homosexual's activism. nObama, liar-Hillary Clinton and their leftist cadres — none of whom have ever spent a day serving our country with honor, or in uniform — keep leaving their putrid stench wherever it will create the greatest offense. -The Patriot Post

Destructive forest fires are due to – WHAT?

The two developments also coincided with the "implementation day" for the nuclear deal struck between Tehran, the U.S. and five other nations. The administration has long denied that the $1.7 billion settlement was related to the prisoner releases, or that it amounted to a "ransom." No, the Constitution Does Not Bar
‘Religious Tests’ in Immigration Law

Monotonously repeated in political speeches and talking-head blather, this claim is heedless of the Islamic doctrinal roots on which foreign-born Islamists and the jihadists they breed base their anti-Americanism. It is also dead wrong. The clause said to be the source of this drivel is found in Article VI. As you'll no doubt be shocked to learn, it has utterly nothing to do with immigration. The clause states, "no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States" On its face, the provision is not only inapplicable to immigrants at large, let alone aliens who would like to be immigrants; it does not even apply to the general public. It is strictly limited to public officials - specifically to their fitness to serve in government positions...

As of 2016, 101 such cases have been recorded. That is a small number from which to draw statistical lessons, but it is comprehensive of the cases brought to trial. Most of these cases - each individual involved is considered a separate "case" by the study - are still pending before the courts. However, of the 45% of cases that have resulted in conviction, the average sentence is only 9 years. This is in part because most of the defendants have no criminal history. Yes, you read that right. The French company LaFarge is currently embroiled in controversy after recent discoveries led to accusations that they have been secretly supporting ISIS in an effort to continue their business in Syria and Iraq untroubled. liar-Hillary Clinton was once a LaFarge board member, and, according to documents uncovered by WikiLeaks, she is partly to blame for the company’s decision to burn toxic waste instead of natural gas in an effort to fuel their MidEast cement kilns. Needless to say, while this was a profitable move it was a highly immoral and unethical one as well...

His killer slit his throat and might very well have proceeded to behead him, as is the wont of many jihadi executioners. The followers of a faith that honours murderers as martyrs (shuhada') created a martyr for quite another faith. In both Greek and Arabic, the terms "martyr" and shahid mean exactly the same thing: "a witness". Father Hamel was the latest in a long line of Christian martyrs who have been slain by men of violence, supposedly in order to attest to the sole truth of their faith. Many Muslim martyrs have died in much that way, but even more have given their lives while waging war (jihad) to conquer territories for Islam. The flag of the Islamic State reads "la ilaha illa'llah, Muhammadun rasulu'llah". The words mean: "There is no God but God; Muhammad is the prophet of God". Those two phrases are known as the shahada, the bearing of witness. You see it everywhere today, now in Syria, then again in France or the UK. But shahada also means martyrdom. Abortion, The DNC And Christians

{townhall.com} ~ On November 17, 1957 at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church, Martin Luther King delivered a message for the ages when he said: "There is something within each of us that causes us to cry out with Goethe, 'There is enough stuff in me to make both a gentleman and a rogue.' There is something within each of us that causes us to cry out with the Apostle Paul, 'I see and approve the better things of life, but the evil things I do.'"
I was drawn to reading King's speech at the conclusion of the 2016 Democratic National Convention, located just two miles away from convicted abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell's infamous death factory -- where a grand jury investigation found that Gosnell "regularly and illegally delivered live, viable, babies in the third trimester of pregnancy ---- and then murdered these babies by severing their spinal cords with scissors." The investigation found that he also "overdosed his patients with dangerous drugs, spread venereal disease among them with infected instruments, perforated their wombs and bowels ---- and, on at least two occasions, caused their deaths."
At one point, Gosnell justified his actions, saying it was his way of giving back to his community, similar to how pro-choice proponents claim that abortion is about women's rights -- proving true Dr. King's words -- that there is plenty in each of us to make both gentlemen and rogues.
Fast-forward to the 2016 DNC, now on record as the most pro-abortion political convention ever, with the party platform calling for taxpayer-funded abortions with the repeal of the Hyde amendment. In a fundraising email, NARAL Pro-Choice America declared: "liar-Hillary Clinton made history as the strongest, most unapologetic champion of reproductive rights ever nominated for president...Other candidates have quietly supported abortion rights, not liar-Hillary. She put choice front and center."
During the convention, NARAL Pro Choice America president Ilyse Hogue wowed the crowd when she bragged about the abortion she had...for convenience-sake. Hogue heralded liar-Clinton as a champion for abortion's cause and demonized Donald Trump and his running mate, Mike Pence, for their pro-baby stance Democrats call "extreme."
The crowd roared and surely Heaven wept, given what the Bible says about how much Jesus loves children.
And then my mind wandered a bit to wonder if it's even possible anymore for a true Christian, not a Christian-in-name-only, to remain in today's Democratic Party, which went on record booing God at a prior convention and cheering about abortions during this one.
And then this gets personal. At the very moment I think I have a "case" against that evil, anti-God, Democrat Party, my research for this column led me to a place that I did not plan to go.
I stumbled on a survey released late last year by the Christian research group, LifeWay Research, finding that almost 70 percent of women surveyed who admitted to having an abortion, self-identified as Christians and around 43 percent said they were regular church-goers of differing degrees at the time of their abortions.
So we are forced to dig a little deeper, maybe admitting there's room enough in each of us for both a gentleman and a rogue.
Who is to blame that women are going from church pews to abortion clinics? For at the very heart of Christianity is a God who values life. "Before I formed you in the womb," the prophet Jeremiah said, "I knew you." And a relationship with the One who formed us and knows us, changes us from the inside-out, and we see things like abortions and even how we cast our votes from a more heavenly perspective.
Obviously, there's plenty of blame to spread around, but maybe judgment, as Dr. King said, must begin by looking at ourselves.
