Is it time to ‘Bud-Light’ them? Kohl's has faced significant backlash from shoppers after becoming the latest major retailer to sell LGBTQ clothing for infants and young children.

Numerous social media posts showcased a wide range of Pride Month merchandise, including bodysuits for newborns with LGBTQ messaging. The merchandise included images of a lesbian couple with children, including a boy in a wheelchair, and featured progressive pride flags.

Other items such as banners, towels, bibs, candles, shorts, and pillows were also part of the collection. The Twitter account "End Wokeness" initially highlighted the Pride display, criticizing Kohl's for not learning from previous controversies involving Bud Light and Target.

Influencer Morgonnn expressed strong disapproval of the LGBTQ clothing for children, accusing Kohl's of engaging in blatant virtue signaling and promoting transgender ideology.

Some users called for a boycott of the company. Kohl's stock has been on a decline, dropping over 50% in the past year due to various concerns. Kohl's did not provide a comment regarding the matter.

Target is feeling the backlash and are dazed and confused. Target locations, particularly in rural areas of the South, reportedly relocated the Pride sections to avoid backlash similar to that faced by Bud Light for its use of a transgender influencer in a campaign. Target's market shares have dropped by over 12.6%, representing a market value loss of nearly $10 billion, following the controversy.

Some Patriots believe it is time to kick them when they are down, but the Tea Party and the Patriot movement just want to send a strong message.

Look at this. In Kohl’s financial report for the first quarter of 2022, stated the year had started below their expectations. They observed a 5.2 percent decrease in net sales compared to the first quarter of 2021, despite implementing changes such as partnering with Sephora.

Moving forward to the third quarter of 2022, Kohl's reported further losses, with net sales decreasing by 7.2 percent.

Will Kohls Be Steam Rolled In The Bud-Light Rebellion

The company currently operates over 1,100 stores across 49 states, which could be contributing to high operating costs and potentially impacting the company's financial health. While they generated $4.28 billion in revenue as of the third quarter of 2022, their total debt was estimated to be approximately $5.46 billion as of December 1, 2022.

Apart from declining sales, Kohl's also made headlines in February 2023 when it laid off 60 marketing and merchandising corporate employees, as reported by Retail Dive. Another indicator of potential trouble for Kohl's is that the bidding war for the company appears to have been put on hold.

IMHO – The main issue lies with Bud-Light, Target, Kohl's, and similar companies lacking an understanding of their customers. They aim to appeal to a small portion of society while disregarding their core customer base. The most robust consumer group in the United States is the traditional family, many of whom follow the Judeo/Christian faith. If these retail stores prioritize catering to this demographic, their sales will skyrocket. Conversely, if they neglect the traditional families, not only will their sales decline, but they may also encounter a backlash and potential financial ruin.
