The following has been around for a little while, but bears repeating.  I would ask, just where do you think we are on the scale, and what can we do to change it, if, indeed, changing it is possible?  

I believe that it IS possible, because it is evident that even though the democracies and republics of the past did exist in form and fashion, they were conceived and promulgated under very different circumstances, by  very different peoples in historically unique times.

This is where the uniqueness of the American Spirit has no equal in all of recorded history.  Even as we teeter on the very brink of fiscal and moral disaster, I believe that there is a higher power directing the course of history.  And in saying such, irregardless of what happens in the next few years, it is going to be a long row to hoe under the best of circumstances to mitigate the disaster being forced on us now.

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinborough, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:
"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship."

"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in  St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the last Presidential election:

Number of States won by:          Obama: 19          McCain: 29
Square miles of land won by:      Obama: 580,000    McCain: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by:    Obama: 127 million  McCain: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:  Obama: 13.2  McCain: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..."

Olson believes the  United States   is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal's - and they vote -

Here it is, folks!  We were worried about another terrorist attack on 9-11-2011 by Islamic terrorists, but there apparently are plenty of folks in this administration that would support this coming event...as evidenced by previous statements, actions and affiliations.   It's being reported that Dear Leader Obumbler is depressed lately, and it's probably because he can't attend any of these events...pal around with old friends, have a beer and a joint around a campfire of American flags, reminisce, remember the halcyon days of community organizing and working the mean streets of America for SEIU and the Chicago Way.

It was all I could do to refrain from throwing something across the room today when I heard that Obozo has ignored his generals again, and is going to require our troop strength in Iraq be reduced to around 3.000.  News reports said that Leon Panetta "acquiesced" with the White House demands, to which an unrepeatable howl of rage erupted in my household.  Panetta is linked at the hip to the White House, for God's sake.  I reported on, and hounded 7471 elected officials (yes--that number is correct) about Panetta's long history of treason earlier this year, to no avail.

U.S. officials said spy agencies are stepping up surveillance of Islamist-oriented elements among Libyan rebels. A government report circulated Tuesday said extremists were observed “strategizing” on Internet forums about how to set up an Islamist state in Libya after the regime of Col. Gadhafi is defeated.

“Several forum participants have suggested that, following a transitional stage, the battle should turn against secularist rebels and members of the [rebels’] Transitional National Council,” the unclassified report stated.

Some U.S. officials sought to play down the remarks by noting that such Internet postings are not always accurate measures of jihadist plans.

My question would be, AGAIN, HOW MUCH MORE ARE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE GOING TO TAKE BEFORE THESE BASTARDS ARE REMOVED FROM POWER, EITHER BY DECLARATION OR BY FORCE, OR A COMBINATION THEREOF?  There are remedies, but with the courts now stacked also, we're running out of options, and out of time.  I believe that Sept. 11 and/or 17 will be a watershed moment in our history.  Whether it's a good or a bad one probably depends entirely on us.

Not Yours To Give

One day in the House of Representatives a bill was taken up appropriating money for the benefit of a widow of a distinguished naval officer. Several beautiful speeches had been made in its support. The Speaker was just about to put the question when Crockett arose:

"Mr. Speaker--I have as much respect for the memory of the deceased, and as much sympathy for the sufferings of the living, if suffering there be, as any man in this House, but we must not permit our respect for the dead or our sympathy for a part of the living to lead us into an act of injustice to the balance of the living. I will not go into an argument to prove that Congress has not the power to appropriate this money as an act of charity. Every member upon this floor knows it. We have the right, as individuals, to give away as much of our own money as we please in charity; but as members of Congress we have no right so to appropriate a dollar of the public money. Some eloquent appeals have been made to us upon the ground that it is a debt due the deceased. Mr. Speaker, the deceased lived long after the close of the war; he was in office to the day of his death, and I have never heard that the government was in arrears to him.

"Every man in this House knows it is not a debt. We cannot, without the grossest corruption, appropriate this money as the payment of a debt. We have not the semblance of authority to appropriate it as charity. Mr. Speaker, I have said we have the right to give as much money of our own as we please. I am the poorest man on this floor. I cannot vote for this bill, but I will give one week's pay to the object, and if every member of Congress will do the same, it will amount to more than the bill asks."

He took his seat. Nobody replied. The bill was put upon its passage, and, instead of passing unanimously, as was generally supposed, and as, no doubt, it would, but for that speech, it received but few votes, and, of course, was lost.

Later, when asked by a friend why he had opposed the appropriation, Crockett gave this explanation:

"Several years ago I was one evening standing on the steps of the Capitol with some other members of Congress, when our attention was attracted by a great light over in Georgetown. It was evidently a large fire. We jumped into a hack and drove over as fast as we could. In spite of all that could be done, many houses were burned and many families made houseless, and, besides, some of them had lost all but the clothes they had on. The weather was very cold, and when I saw so many women and children suffering, I felt that something ought to be done for them. The next morning a bill was introduced appropriating $20,000 for their relief. We put aside all other business and rushed it through as soon as it could be done.

"The next summer, when it began to be time to think about election, I concluded I would take a scout around among the boys of my district. I had no opposition there, but, as the election was some time off, I did not know what might turn up. When riding one day in a part of my district in which I was more of a stranger than any other, I saw a man in a field plowing and coming toward the road. I gauged my gait so that we should meet as he came to the fence. As he came up, I spoke to the man. He replied politely, but, as I thought, rather coldly.

"I began: 'Well, friend, I am one of those unfortunate beings called
candidates, and---‘


"Yes I know you; you are Colonel Crockett. I have seen you once before, and voted for you the last time you were elected. I suppose you are out electioneering now, but you had better not waste your time or mine, I shall not vote for you again."

"This was a sockdolager...I begged him to tell me what was the matter.

" ’Well, Colonel, it is hardly worth-while to waste time or words upon it. I do not see how it can be mended, but you gave a vote last winter which shows that either you have not capacity to understand the Constitution, or that you are wanting in the honesty and firmness to be guided by it. In either case you are not the man to represent me. But I beg your pardon for expressing it in that way. I did not intend to avail myself of the privilege of the constituent to speak plainly to a candidate for the purpose of insulting or wounding you. I intend by it only to say that your understanding of the Constitution is very different from mine; and I will say to you what, but for my rudeness, I should not have said, that I believe you to be honest.
…But an understanding of the Constitution different from mine I cannot overlook, because the Constitution, to be worth anything, must be held sacred, and rigidly observed in all its provisions. The man who wields power and misinterprets it is the more dangerous the more honest he is.'

" 'I admit the truth of all you say, but there must be some mistakeabout it, for I do not remember that I gave any vote last winter upon any constitutional question.’

“ ‘No, Colonel, there’s no mistake. Though I live in the backwoods and seldom go from home, I take the papers from Washington and read very carefully all the proceedings of Congress. My papers saythat last winter you voted for a bill to appropriate $20,000 to some sufferers by a fire in Georgetown. Is that true?’

" ‘Well, my friend; I may as well own up. You have got me there. But certainly nobody will complain that a great and rich country like ours should give the insignificant sum of $20,000 to relieve its suffering women and children, particularly with a full and overflowingTreasury, and I am sure, if you had been there, you would have done just as I did.'

" ‘It is not the amount, Colonel, that I complain of; it is the principle. In the first place, the government ought to have in the Treasury no more than enough for its legitimate purposes. But that has nothing with the question. The power of collecting and disbursing money at pleasure is the most dangerous power that can be entrusted to man, particularly under our system of collecting revenue by a tariff, which reaches every man in the country, no matter how poor he may be, and the poorer he is the more he pays in proportion to his means. What is worse, it presses upon him without his knowledge where the weight centers, for there is not a man in the United States who can ever guess how much he pays to the government. So you see, that while you are contributing to relieve one, you are drawing it from thousands who are even worse off than he. If you had the right to give anything, the amount was simply a matter of discretion with you, and you had as much right to give $20,000,000 as $20,000. If you have the right to give to one, you have the right to give to all; and, as the Constitution neither defines charity nor stipulates the amount, you are at liberty to give to any and everything which you may believe, or profess to believe, is a charity, and to any amount you may think proper. You will very easily perceive what a wide door this would open for fraud and corruption and favoritism, on the one hand, and for robbing the people on the other. 'No, Colonel, Congress has no right to give charity. Individual members may give as much of their own money as they please, but they have no right to touch a dollar of the public money for that purpose. If twice as many houses had been burned in this county as in Georgetown, neither you nor any other member of Congress would have thought of appropriating a dollar for our relief. There are about two hundred and forty members of Congress. If they had shown their sympathy for the sufferers by contributing each one week's pay, it would have made over $13,000. There are plenty of wealthy men in and around Washington who could have given $20,000 without depriving themselves of even a luxury of life.' "The congressmen chose to keep their own money, which, if reports be true, some of them spend not very creditably; and the people about Washington, no doubt, applauded you for relieving them from the necessity of giving by giving what was not yours to give. The people have delegated to Congress, by the Constitution, the power to do certain things. To do these, it is authorized to collect and pay moneys, and for nothing else. Everything beyond this is usurpation, and a violation of the Constitution.'

" 'So you see, Colonel, you have violated the Constitution in what I consider a vital point. It is a precedent fraught with danger to the country, for when Congress once begins to stretch its power beyond the limits of the Constitution, there is no limit to it, and no security for the people. I have no doubt you acted honestly, but that does not make it any better, except as far as you are personally concerned, and you see that I cannot vote for you.'

"I tell you I felt streaked. I saw if I should have opposition, and this man should go to talking, he would set others to talking, and in that district I was a gone fawn-skin. I could not answer him, and the fact is, I was so fully convinced that he was right, I did not want to. But I must satisfy him, and I said to him:

" ‘Well, my friend, you hit the nail upon the head when you said I had not sense enough to understand the Constitution. I intended to be guided by it, and thought I had studied it fully. I have heard many speeches in Congress about the powers of Congress, but what you have said here at your plow has got more hard, sound sense in it than all the fine speeches I ever heard. If I had ever taken the view of it that you have, I would have put my head into the fire before I would have given that vote; and if you will forgive me and vote for me again, if I ever vote for another unconstitutional law I wish I may be shot.'

"He laughingly replied; 'Yes, Colonel, you have sworn to that once before, but I will trust you again upon one condition. You say that you are convinced that your vote was wrong. Your acknowledgment of it will do more good than beating you for it. If, as you go around the district, you will tell people about this vote, and that you are satisfied it was wrong, I will not only vote for you, but will do what I can to keep down opposition, and, perhaps, I may exert some little influence in that way.'

" ‘If I don't’, said I, 'I wish I may be shot; and to convince you that I am in earnest in what I say I will come back this way in a week or ten days, and if you will get up a gathering of the people, I will make a speech to them. Get up a barbecue, and I will pay for it.'

" ‘No, Colonel, we are not rich people in this section, but we have plenty of provisions to contribute for a barbecue, and some to spare for those who have none. The push of crops will be over in a few days, and we can then afford a day for a barbecue. This is Thursday; I will see to getting it up on Saturday week. Come to my house on Friday, and we will go together, and I promise you a very respectable crowd to see and hear you.’

" 'Well, I will be here. But one thing more before I say good-bye. I must know your name.’

" 'My name is Bunce.'

" 'Not Horatio Bunce?'

" 'Yes.’

" 'Well, Mr. Bunce, I never saw you before, though you say you have seen me, but I know you very well. I am glad I have met you, and very proud that I may hope to have you for my friend.'

He mingled but little with the public, but was widely known for his remarkable intelligence and incorruptible integrity,  and for a heart brimful and running over with kindness and benevolence, which showed themselves not only in words but in acts. But it is the one great thing for which most of them are striving, and many of them sacrifice honor, integrity, and justice to obtain it."

Friends and fellow Patriots;  We have at our fingertips the most powerful voice imaginable.  This is not by accident or whim.  From the Founding of this Nation, the Hand of the Almighty has guided us when we listened, and we strayed when we did not.  Current assessments are-WE ARE IN A WORLD OF HURT.

We can't blame Bush, Clinton, Carter, Wilson, Roosevelt, or Obama....woops...YES WE CAN.

We can also blame the American electorate for falling down face-first in a pool of politically-correct BS in an ill-advised attempt to mollify those who wish to KILL US.

The names may have changed, but the goals have not.  Tyranny cannot abide freedom and liberty.  Despotism is never altered by the meanderings of the human heart, or human nature.  It is specifically the meanderings of the human heart and human nature that allow tyranny and despotism to flourish.  When strict adherence to the Rule of Law exists, as in our Founding Documents, liberty, freedom and prosperity flourish.  When that begins to change, as our Founding Fathers knew it would, we begin to lose those God-given rights.

"The sacred rights of mankind are not to be rummaged for, among old parchments or musty papers; They are written on the whole of human nature, as with a sunbeam, by the Hand of the Divinity Itself, and cannot be obscured by mortal power."---Alexander Hamilton.

Even the most basic exploration of the writings of the Founders illuminates the dangers inherent in any attempt at self-governance as witnessed by the corpses of past civilizations laying on the ash-heap of history.

James Madison wrote, "I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations."

Washington also wrote, "Should, hereafter, those incited by the lust of power and prompted by the supineness or venality of their constituents, overleap the known barriers of this Constitution and violate the unalienable rights of humanity: it will only serve to show, that no compact among men (however provident in its construction and sacred in its ratification) can be pronounced everlasting and inviolable, and if I may so express myself, that no Wall of words, that no mound of parchment can be so formed as to stand against the sweeping torrent of boundless ambition on the side, aided by the sapping current of corrupted morals on the other."

Here is where we need to be going, IMHO...and I don't hear one damned "candidate" for POTUS speaking of this; restoration AND ADHERENCE to our ORIGINAL Constitution and Bill of Rights that would eliminate this over-reaching, over-spending, out-of-control central/behemoth government monstrosity WE WERE WARNED ABOUT!!!  They nibble at the fringes, but are afraid to approach the TRUTH, because they are part-and-parcel born and fed by the Leviathon.

Thomas Jefferson: "Our peculiar security is in the possession of a written Constitution. Let us not make it a blank paper by construction. ... To consider the judges as the ultimate arbiters of all constitutional questions [is] a very dangerous doctrine indeed, and one which would place us under the despotism of an oligarchy. ... Time is NOT ON OUR SIDE.  But I believe that the "Hand of the Divinity" IS.

Through the mists and fogs of history, through all the obfuscations and lies and corruption of the past and present, we still have that one, insurmountable thing:  The yearning for liberty that resides in every human heart, and the MEANS WITH WHICH TO RETAIN IT---our Constitution.  The only document ever written by man that asserts the God-given rights of mankind as never before.  It is only going to be through a complete return to our Founding Principles, and an aggressive defense of them, that we will survive Barack Hussein Obama, Communism, Islam, and every other bogey-man wet-dream devised by the dark and devious minds of evil.

John Adams: "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. ... The only foundation of a free Constitution is pure Virtue, and if this cannot be inspired into our People. ... [T]hey may change their Rulers, and the forms of Government, but they will not obtain a lasting Liberty. ... A Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever."

Article VI of our Constitution proclaims: "This Constitution ... shall be the supreme Law of the Land."

This is our avenue of "hope and change"...we will NOT SURVIVE WITHOUT IT.

I couldn't help but notice that for some reason, there is a PLETHORA of presidential candidates this time around.  This is usually cited as the case for just about any election cycle by the Lame Stream Media, but this time it's a little different.  The Lame Stream Media is ignoring most of this, but still...

...We really DO have a shortage of candidates.  

There is an entire flotilla of eligibles out there, but they are all made of the same cloth.  They say all the same things, and argue with each other over the meanings of the same things they are all saying.  

They fail to address the very issues that will determine if we are to survive as a republic, or die a violent death as a newly-minted democracy, changed from the founding principles from which we were bequeathed, by elite autocrats whose true intentions are made clear only by the ignorance of those who populate that landscape of America that once fought for liberty and threw it aside for convenience, and an illusion of safety.

In other words, THERE IS AN AWFUL LOT OF BS OUT HERE.  I read the blogs, the posts, the comments, and scratch my head in wondering...WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT????

Some of these folks make just enough sense to barely qualify for the Jerry Springer Show.  Others are worse...if that's possible, but I suppose it is because we can all read it and testify to it.

The electorate has awakened...and many of them are HERE...

So when a bunch of these folks jump on one, like chickens in a henhouse roost, I have to step back and wonder..."What the hell was in that feed?"..........

So I'm just going to say it...Leah Lax is the only one so far that has a lick of sense, who supports this Nation and our Rule of Law unconditionally, supports the Nation of Isreal, and supports the Founding Documents of this country without an entire hodge-podge of concillatory hoopla designed to do nothing but distract from a real agenda.

I don't agree with this candidate on everything, but then again, I don't always agree WITH MYSELF on everything until I've thought it out.  There needs to be a concerted focus in this country to reclaim the rule of law, remove these criminals who have USURPED our Rule of Law, and PROSECUTE THEM, no benefits included.

To date, I have yet to find, in all the "ponies" at the starting gate, one...JUST ONE...that is willing, or has been willing, to stand up for this nation and our Founding Principles like Leah Lax has, and is, doing.

I see the attacks, the slander, innuendo, and all that 2nd-grade crap.  And that's the 1st Ammendment that I'm proud of and will always fight for.  

Just don't go crying and nay-saying when it doesn't fit your agenda and you are bested by another...

...whoever that may be.

While enjoying a well-deserved, HARD EARNED vacation in pricey Martha's Vineyard, the Liar N Thief had precious little, well NOTHING, actually, to say about the latest news of Hamas withdrawing from it's "peace treaty" with Isreal.  Like it actually meant anything anyway to these 7th century misogynist murderers.

We need a little amnesty ourselves, as it ain't easy being a "terrorist" while trying to defend our country from the terrors within, the horrors looming without, and a constant pummeling from all sides, hitting us in the pocket harder while slapping us around like errant school-children.  

We don't need another whining lecture on Keynesian economics and grievance platitudes from an Islamofascist street-thug whose only accomplishment in life to date before being suspiciously elevated to POTUS was educating legions of Chicago tenement-dwellers on how to "rig" elections, "beat the system" tactics and the Cloward-Piven strategy, with Saul Alinsky as top-billing.
