More Consequences of Abandoning Iraq
8d3HiuKxc6KnaetT3OpKNFkTF3O5_xcppphDQDohDLIO5S3h0Avv090--4D1bb9wTox8kjYdNq0rNtCeoJ9F99JZfE1fIXfMlm_-BflM_MlP9AAzPisjxB1ML1by3hI=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?width=500by National Security Desk:  The Islamic State is losing ground — that’s the good news. The bad news is that our Kurdish allies are now facing a civil war with our Iraqi allies.
It’s hugely encouraging that the Islamic State has been beaten back by a joint effort of U.S.-backed Iraqi and Kurdish forces. The road hasn’t been easy. In 2014, when the Iraqi army’s divisions collapsed and abandoned the northern region to the Islamic State, the Kurds’ Peshmerga saved the day, driving back the Islamic State, including saving Kirkuk. Gradually, that battle continued and the Islamic State is now a shell of its former self. Indeed, the Kurds also this week achieved victory over the Islamic State in its de facto capital of Raqqa, Syria.
But with the Islamic State threat being reduced, and once the Kurds voted to break away from Iraq last month — a referendum opposed by the U.S. — the Iraqi government turned on them with its increasingly capable military, taking back Kirkuk in the process.
So far, Shiite militias are playing only a supporting role to the Iraqi army, but that may change. Ed Morrissey writes, “The Iranian-backed Shi'ite militias appear to be driving this outcome, forcing [Iraqi Prime Minister] Haider al-Abadi to act with force against the Kurds — and thereby confirming the Kurds’ worst fears about the Iraq federation’s future direction. If Iraq falls completely under Iran’s thumb, it will spell the end of the autonomy that Kurds have enjoyed since the end of the 1991 Gulf War.” Indeed, Iraq post-American withdrawal has come ever more under the influence of Iran, which just happens to be ticked off at Trump’s decertification of the nuclear deal.
On that note, David French, a veteran of the U.S. fight in Iraq, highlights the real lesson here: Barack liar-nObama’s disastrous withdrawal from Iraq. “Perhaps the best way to plot a course ahead is to remember the road behind,” French argues. “Back in 2008, we won a military victory in Iraq. In the aftermath of that victory, we withdrew our troops from the country, leaving Iraq to its own devices. The result was catastrophic.
So, he says, “‘Win and leave’ won’t work. There is too much volatility, and the costs of instability are too high. There’s no guarantee that ‘win and stay’ will yield the results we want, but by staying we’ll retain our power and influence. We know all too well the cost of withdrawal. It’s time we discovered the benefits of long-term, strategic engagement.
The Trump administration must back the Kurds and pressure the Iraqi government to work out a deal. Abandoning our Kurdish allies would send all the wrong signals in a volatile region.  ~The Patriot Post

{rickwells.us} ~ David Asman calls the report shocking, although no news of corruption coming out of the DC Swamp shocks anyone anymore... It’s rotten to the core, and we know it. Shocking news would be along the lines that a trace of integrity remains in either the DOJ or FBI, particularly in their leadership. Asman cites a report from The Hill which states “That the liar-nObama administration approved of a Russian of about 25% of all US uranium reserves even though the FBI had warned of massive bribes, kickbacks and elements of extortion.” He follows that up with the involvement of “the untouchable” liar-Hillary Clinton, saying, “There were also serious questions raised about Russian-related donations to the liar-Clinton Foundation from individuals working on the uranium deal at a time when liar-Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State.”...All very good questions.  https://rickwells.us/napolitano-fbi-clinton-russia-uranium/

{greatamericandaily.com} ~ A giant bombshell just dropped in the quest to hold Loretta Lynch accountable for her conduct during the 2016 election... The FBI has found a smoking gun. And it has Loretta Lynch sweating. Watchdog group Judicial Watch announced last week that the FBI found the missing 30 pages of documents surrounding liar-Bill Clinton’s meeting with Lynch on her government plane shortly before former FBI Director James Comey announced he would not recommend charges be brought against liar-Clinton. Comey cited that meeting as one of the reasons he believed Lynch was compromised on the investigation...  http://greatamericandaily.com/the-fbi-found-the-smoking-gun-that-could-send-loretta-lynch-to-prison/

{legalinsurrection.com} ~ The liar-nObama administration ran interference for liar-Hillary on more than one occasion (that we know of), if two recent reports are to be believed... First, there’s the issue of the liar-Clinton Foundation’s dealings with Canadian Uranium One sold to Russians, which include a bribery scandal the FBI was aware of, and in which the DOJ chose not to reveal until after the deal was done. In 2015, the story was an issue because the donations were not publicly disclosed when the liar-Clinton’s were promising complete transparency on all liar-Clinton Foundation transactions while liar-Hillary was serving as Secretary of State. Now, it’s resurfaced for a different reason — the FBI was aware of the bribes, and sat on the evidence for four years...Why isn't this being investigated and brought forward?    https://legalinsurrection.com/2017/10/recent-reports-suggest-obama-administration-covered-for-the-clintons-on-more-than-one-occassion/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+LegalInsurrection+%28Le%C2%B7gal+In%C2%B7sur%C2%B7rec%C2%B7tion%29

{washingtonexaminer.com} ~ President Trump's most recent high-profile executive actions -- on liar-nObamacare, immigration, and the Iran nuclear deal -- do three big things.

First, they push Congress to act, which involves more than just calling the bluff of Republican leaders who talked big during the liar-nObama years but failed to produce once the GOP controlled both Congress and White House. In a larger sense, Trump's actions point toward restoring a proper balance of power in which Congress makes law on issues that are clearly its constitutional responsibility. The president is using executive authority to pressure lawmakers to exercise appropriate legislative authority.

Second, Trump has reinforced what many of his supporters find most appealing about him -- that he can act as a leader not clearly aligned with either party.

And third, Trump's actions galvanize support among some of Washington's most conservative lawmakers and thinkers, even some who have been highly critical of him in the past.

On the first point, Trump is pressing Congress to act in areas in which Republicans accused Barack liar-nObama of executive overreach.

On liar-nObamacare, Trump cut off the flow of cost-sharing reduction, or CSR, payments to insurance companies. The expenditures were never appropriated by Congress; the liar-nObama administration carried them out to keep liar-nObamacare afloat, regardless of the law. Now, Trump has set the stage for a constitutional fix.

On DACA, liar-nObama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, Trump has challenged Congress to come up with a legitimate fix to an liar-nObama executive action that all Republicans saw as overreach. And on the Iran deal, Trump's action opens the door for action in Congress, where Republicans said the issue always belonged, after liar-nObama bypassed lawmakers.

"Each action undoes what liar-nObama ought not have done without Congress (CSRs, DACA, & Iran)," said a conservative lawmaker in a text exchange Sunday. "Restore constitutional government!"

On the second point, Trump's actions highlight the fact that a lot of his supporters still see him not as an insider but as an outside force pushing an entrenched, sclerotic Republican Party to act.

That was candidate Trump's pitch to voters, going way back.

"Trump is about the closest thing to a third-party candidate without having to leave the party," Chuck Laudner, who ran Trump's Iowa campaign, told me in May 2015, when crowds were starting to take Trump seriously.

Not much has changed since then. "To a huge chunk of the electorate, Trump is not a Republican," a veteran GOP operative told me recently, after attending focus groups in several states key to next year's midterms.

That's also consistent with what Stanley Greenberg, the Democratic pollster, found over the summer in a Macomb County, Mich. focus group.

"What many Macomb voters value about Trump is that he represents an unaligned force in American politics," wrote the Atlantic's Franklin Foer of Greenberg's findings.

It's a scenario in which the GOP leaders of Congress are the villains. When Greenberg showed those Michigan voters photos of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan, they became visibly angry. That's also what the veteran Republican operative found. "Trump's supporters think it's amazing he's getting so much accomplished, seeing how Ryan and McConnell are trying to screw him every day," the operative told me.

Finally, on the third point, Trump is getting high marks from some conservative Republicans and thinkers. When I asked one deeply conservative lawmaker, who in turn polled what other members had told him, he said they are glad to see the president putting Republicans to the test: will they just talk like conservatives, or will they actually legislate like conservatives?

Some conservative writers who have long criticized liar-nObama's unilateral actions were happy to see Trump begin to undo them. On liar-nObamacare, National Review -- which published an "Against Trump" issue in the primaries and has had a bumpy relationship with the president since -- reacted with an editorial headlined "Trump's Sensible Health-Care Actions."

On DACA, a lot of conservatives slammed Trump when there were reports he had reached a "deal" with Democrats Charles clown-Schumer and Nancy Pulosi. But now that Trump has attached a wish-list of tough border and interior enforcement priorities to any DACA legalization, many see it as a chance for Congress to take actual action on immigration.

And even if Republicans cave and pass a simple legalization, doing it through Congress would still be a constitutional solution, unlike liar-nObama's original action.

On the nuclear deal, the Weekly Standard, which has a times been a center of NeverTrumpism, published a reaction with the headline, "He's right about Iran."

"We believe Trump's instincts are sound," the magazine's editors wrote.

Trump's actions might not work. After all, he is pressuring Congress to act, but that doesn't mean Congress will act, especially when the president is feuding with some key members. But Trump's moves are a step in the direction of fixing some of the worst excesses of the liar-nObama administration -- if Republicans will take the opportunity.

Liberalism’s Moral Abyss

By Craig Andresen – Right Side Patriots on American Political Radio

wein-1.jpg?width=184The ship, the U.S.S. Liberalism, is sinking being dragged to Davy Jones’ locker by the weight of its own hypocrisy…and I have to admit, there is a certain amount of pleasure in watching it slip beneath the waves.

The NFL, once the highest floating ship in the American sporting world, has become a sunken, man-made reef. As players continue to disrespect the nation of fans who made them millionaires, and as league officials continue to cling to their liberal union inspired agenda of allowing such disrespect, the fan base is continuing to turn their backs on the kneelers, and turn off the televised games bringing the NFL to its lowest ratings ever.

Now even advertisers are floating away in life rafts trying to put enough distance between themselves and the rapidly sinking vessel so as not to get pulled down along with it.

Last week, while the players from New Orleans actually stood for our National Anthem, they suddenly took a knee in a show of disrespect for a New Orleans police officer who was recently murdered…

{theconservativetreehouse.com} ~ Fox News host Sean Hannity reveals the stunningly explosive scandal he has been hinting toward for weeks and weeks. Joined once again by fellow explosive story seller Sara Carter... Hannity outlines the most incredible, scandalous, explosive, controversy, in history. The thing is… It really is a scandal; and it really is a big deal; but when pitched by the same team that claim every scandal is the biggest deal in the history of big deals, well, the ‘chicken little factor’ comes into play.  Thus we accept the historic modus operandi behind controlled opposition leaks, stories and narratives from inside the swamp. When everything is sold as a big deal, then nothing is a big deal.  As such the UniParty swamp shrugs with a subtle sneer and says:… yeah, so? …And your point?  https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2017/10/17/sean-hannity-discusses-uranium-one-scandal-with-sara-carter-and-john-solomon/

{rickwells.us} ~ Workplace enforcement was a logical early step to take in getting a grip on the illegal alien menace in the United States... While nine months into the Trump administration isn’t exactly early, there now appears to be a renewed enthusiasm at ICE for holding the anti-American employers accountable for their actions. Speaking at a panel discussion at the Heritage Foundation on Tuesday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement Acting Director Thomas Homan revealed that the agency is initiating a policy of prioritizing workplace enforcement and investigations and sanctions against businesses knowingly employing illegals. Homan told the group, “Unless you remove the magnets for illegal immigration, as long as they think they can come here and get U.S. citizenship and not get removed, they’re going to keep coming. As long as they can come here and get a job, they’re going to try and come. So we are stepping up worksite enforcement.”...  https://rickwells.us/maga-ice-crackdown-employers/

{rickwells.us} ~ There definitely is a different bar and attention paid to detail by Democrats when they’re engaged with their own fellow corrupt partisans... and when they’re engaged with the members of the Trump administration. Former Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson was notorious for word-parsing and giving incomplete responses or answers to questions that weren’t even asked in order to avoid telling the uncomfortable or implicating truth and nothing was said. They likewise pretend to be completely oblivious to what must be the obvious crimes of liar-Hillary Clinton, given their ability to recognize contradictions, be they actual or fabricated. In this instance, the most liberal globalist Democrat in the Senate, Al Franken (D-MN), spends almost fifteen minutes attempting to corner and berating Attorney General Jeff Sessions about statements he made during his confirmation hearings, statements that are now basically irrelevant beyond being potentially useful to discredit members of the Trump administration...  https://rickwells.us/sessions-franken-hillary-clinton/

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the committee chairman, on Wednesday raised the issue in public during questioning of Attorney General Jeff Sessions during an oversight hearing. by Michelle Malkin
{townhall.com} ~ "#MeToo" is the social media meme of the moment. In a 24-hour period, the phrase was tweeted nearly a half million times and posted on Facebook 12 million times. Spearheaded by actress Alyssa Milano in the wake of Hollyweird's Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal, women have flooded social media with their own long-buried accounts of being pestered, groped or assaulted by rapacious male predators in the workplace.

Count me out.

It's one thing to break down cultural stigmas constructively, but the #MeToo movement is collectivist virtue signaling of a very perilous sort. The New York Times heralded the phenomenon with multiple articles "to show how commonplace sexual assault and harassment are." The Washington Post credited #MeToo with making "the scale of sexual abuse go viral." And actress Emily Ratajkowski declared at a Marie Claire magazine's women's conference on Monday:

"The most important response to #metoo is 'I believe you.'"

No. I do not believe every woman who is now standing up to "share her story" or "tell her truth." I owe no blind allegiance to any other woman simply because we share the same pronoun. Assertions are not truths until they are established as facts and corroborated with evidence. Timing, context, motives and manner all matter.

Because I reserve the right to vet the claims of individual sexual assault complainants instead of championing them all knee-jerk and wholesale as "victims," I've been scolded as insensitive and inhumane.

"TIMING DOES NOT MATTER," a Twitter user named Meg Yarbrough fumed. "What matters is what is best for EACH INDIVIDUAL victim. You should be ashamed of yourself."

CNN anchor Jake Tapper informed me, "People coming forward should be applauded." But applauding people for "coming forward" is not a journalistic tenet. It's an advocacy tenet. Tapper responded that he was expressing the sentiment as a "human being not as a journalist." Last time I checked, humans have brains. The Weinstein scandal is not an excuse to turn them off and abdicate a basic responsibility to assess the credibility of accusers. It's an incontrovertible fact that not all accusers' claims are equal.

Some number of harrowing encounters described by Weinstein's accusers and the #MeToo hashtag activists no doubt occurred. But experience and scientific literature show us that a significant portion of these allegations will turn out to be half-truths, exaggerations or outright fabrications. That's not victim-blaming. It's reality-checking.

It is irresponsible for news outlets to extrapolate how "commonplace" sexual abuse is based on hashtag trends spread by celebrities, anonymous claimants and bots. The role of the press should be verification, not validation. Instead of interviewing activist actresses, reporters should be interviewing bona fide experts.

Brent Turvey, a forensic scientist and criminal profiler who heads the Forensic Criminology Institute, is author or co-author of 16 criminal justice books, including textbooks on rape investigation, crime reconstruction, behavioral evidence analysis and forensic victimology.

Turvey's most recent book, written with retired NYPD special victim squad detective John Savino and Mexico-based forensic psychologist Aurelio Coronado Mares, is "False Allegations: Investigative and Forensic Issues in Fraudulent Reports of Crime."

Based on their review of decades of scientific literature, Turvey and his colleagues explode the "2 percent myth" peddled by politicians, victims' advocates and journalists "claiming that the nationwide false report rape for rape and sexual assault is nonexistent." In fact, the statistic was traced to an unverified citation in a 1975 book by feminist author Susan Brownmiller.

"This figure is not only inaccurate," Turvey and his co-authors conclude, "but also it has no basis in reality."

Published research has documented false rape and sexual assault rates ranging from 8 percent to 41 percent. Savino notes that in his NYPD's Manhattan Special Victim Squad, "our false report rate was in the double digits during all of my years. Sometimes, it was as high as 40 percent." Turvey, Savino, and Mares make clear to students that based on the evidence -- as opposed to Facebook trends:

"False reports happen; they are recurrent; and there are laws in place to deal with them when they do. They are, for lack of a better word, common."

They are common because people lie for all sorts of reasons -- from the need for attention to the lure of profit, out of anger or revenge, to conceal crimes or illicit activity, or because of addictions or mental health issues. Unlike activists or advocates "steeped in bias, denial or self-interest," Turvey and his colleagues teach criminal investigators and students that true professionals "do not seek confirmation of beliefs or ideas: they seek eradication of false theories. All reports of crime must be investigated. Otherwise, they are merely unconfirmed allegations that the ignorant or lazy may pass along as truth."

Rape is a devastating crime. So is lying about it. Ignorant advocates and lazy journalists can be as dangerous as derelict detectives and prosecutors driven by political agendas instead of facts.

When #MeToo bandwagons form in the midst of a panic, innocent people get run over.

{thepoliticalinsider.com} ~ The rumors and snide comments made by liberals about Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s past testimony before Congress concerning collusion with the Russians came to the fore today... Senator Al Franken, the former funny man and liberal senator from Minnesota, tried once again to pin Sessions down for possible Russia collusion, implying that he committed perjury back in January during his attorney general confirmation hearing. liar-nObamaCare Is Still liar-nObama's

by Robin Smith:  It’s been said that since liar-nObamaCare became law, the U.S. government is now a health insurance company that fields a military. Sadly, that’s not far off the mark and is an affront to those who understand the Constitution and personal liberty.

Pitifully, a growing population turns first to the government to solve their problems, such as health insurance coverage, despite the enumerated powers laid out by the Law of the Land. Now we have a very large sector of America’s economy that is manipulated by government rules, regulation and control that standardizes inefficiencies and ineffectiveness, not to mention inflates costs.
The good news is President Donald Trump acted last week to halt illegal subsidies paid from the U.S. Treasury to insurance companies to cover their losses and, ostensibly, to keep premiums lower. Naturally, the #VeryFakeNews media has been in hyper drive to frame the narrative of the Hateful Republican President who is killing people by taking away their health care through the wrongful use of an executive order.
Let’s apply the truth to the hyperventilating Left and the insurance companies who spent hundreds of millions of dollars lobbying for this failed policy, and who are now trying to cover up the need for billions in taxpayer bailouts — a.k.a. in bureaucratic-ese, cost-sharing reduction payments.
Fact: In the original “Affordable” Care Act, a risk pool of funding was created to pay insurance companies for potential losses and subsidize low-income patients. But, when the losses were totaling hundreds of millions of dollars because young, healthy individuals didn’t take the carrot/stick to pay high premiums for insurance with an enormous out-of-pocket deductible to finance the expansion of Medicaid and artificially lower premium costs for the sick, that risk pool ran dry. This explains the sky-high annual premium increases since liar-nObamaCare took effect.
Fact: Since the risk pool was woefully inadequate to cover losses and to reimburse commercial insurance companies for the mandated low-cost premiums for some, Barack liar-nObama made an appropriation request of the Congress that was not approved. In response, he used his pen to do it anyway — an action deemed illegal by DC district court in 2016. The ruling came after a 2014 lawsuit filed by the House challenging the cost-sharing reduction (CSR) payments as lacking a specific, legal appropriation.
With his phone and his pen, liar-nObama, the once-constitutional lecturer, overstepped the Constitution’s declaration that “No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law…” The Appropriations Clause, as he should know, enumerates the power of the purse to lie in Congress, not by an imperial attempting to salvage his signature legislation.
Fact: These cost-sharing reduction payments, being illegal, were rightfully halted by President Trump with the issue returned to Congress to address. So, despite the dripping hatred from leftists who cannot get over the loss of their coroneted queen, Trump acted in a constitutional manner to correct a wrong.
Relentless in their aim, the Left parrots false statements to grip the GOP with fear. That includes the usual Democrat/media claims that Republicans hate poor people and are trying to kill them just as the November 1st sign-ups begin for liar-nObamaCare coverage in 2018.
Again, the antidote to a plague of lies is a big dose of truth with the disinfectant of sunshine.
In news accounts that began seeping into the public back in the summer as insurance companies were making premium cost projections, the “uncertainty” of the cost-sharing reduction (CSR) payments pushed some state insurance regulators to have commercial insurers include in their projected premium cost increases the absence of these subsidies or at least submit two projections — one with the CSR one without.
So, another fact: According to the American Academy of Actuaries July publication, these adjusted projections to address this uncertainty attributed to much of the requested increases already made this year for next year’s premium costs. Get that? States like Tennessee approved premium increases this summer to account for the elimination of the CSR payments.
But here’s the part that really disrupts the narrative of folks like those who penned the Oct. 12 Bloomberg editorial, “Trump’s Healthcare Wrecking Ball.” The hypoxic-inducing tantrums that Trump’s move will hurt the poor by shifting costs to the sickest patients, while schizophrenically declaring in the same article that the healthy subsidize the sick, are simply false.
Back to the July American Academy of Actuaries, which notes, “Although those who receive premium subsidies would be insulated from the full increase in premiums, nonsubsidized enrollees would face the full increase, potentially affecting their enrollment behavior and therefore the morbidity of the risk pool” if the CSR payments were to be eliminated.
While President Trump eliminated the illegal payments from the U.S. Treasury to insurance companies, the law still demands that insurance companies offer lower premiums based on income. So, by law, insurance companies must keep prices artificially low for some with the nonsubsidized enrollees paying full price. Again, according to the Actuaries, those forced into buying government-sanctioned insurance with no subsidies “would face the full increase.”
Let’s sum this up. A law empowering government to control health insurance is failed policy and law. Using taxpayer money to make illegal payments to private insurance companies to correct flaws in the law and has rightfully been halted with the issue returned to Congress for action. Failing liar-nObamaCare is still in place despite more than seven years of GOP promises to repeal and replace the law, and despite the president’s smart moves to inject free-market, consumer-driven controls into the health insurance market.
liar-nObamaCare should now be called liar-nObamaScare considering the frightful tactics of the Left to attempt to affix wrongful blame. But notwithstanding attempts to hang it around Republican necks, this law will forever be the dud prize of liar-nObama and Democrats. It’s now up to Republicans to restore the order of a constitutional government and work with a president whose agenda is overwhelmingly supported by Americans to replace a failed law with effective policy.

With Bribery, Russian Nuclear Officials
Made liar-Bill and liar-Hillary Clinton Richer
by Katie Pavlich
{townhall.com} ~ In 2009 Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted more control over U.S. nuclear capability and the liar-Clintons helped him get there.

According to a bombshell report published today in The Hill the corruption surrounding the sale of Uranium One when President liar-nObama was in the White House, which overwhelmingly and personally benefited former President liar-Bill Clinton and the liar-Clinton Foundation, was far worse than we first knew and the FBI documented all of it. Bolding is mine:

Before the liar-nObama administration approved a controversial deal in 2010 giving Moscow control of a large swath of American uranium, the FBI had gathered substantial evidence that Russian nuclear industry officials were engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering designed to grow Vladimir Putin’s atomic energy business inside the United States, according to government documents and interviews.

Federal agents used a confidential U.S. witness working inside the Russian nuclear industry to gather extensive financial records, make secret recordings and intercept emails as early as 2009 that showed Moscow had compromised an American uranium trucking firm with bribes and kickbacks in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, FBI and court documents show.

They also obtained an eyewitness account — backed by documents — indicating Russian nuclear officials had routed millions of dollars to the U.S. designed to benefit former President liar-Bill Clinton’s charitable foundation during the time Secretary of State liar-Hillary Clinton served on a government body that provided a favorable decision to Moscow, sources told The Hill.

The racketeering scheme was conducted “with the consent of higher level officials” in Russia who “shared the proceeds” from the kickbacks, one agent declared in an affidavit years later.

Under her watch at the State Department, Secretary liar-Hillary Clinton benefited from the Russian government increasing its power inside the U.S. nuclear program and allowed it to happen. She then denied knowing anything about it on the campaign trial and resented allegations she used her position at the State Department for personal gain. Russian nuclear officials were paying her husband millions through shady back channels and by default, they were paying her too.

It should be noted that although former FBI Director James Comey declared the criminal investigation into liar-Hillary Clinton's use of a personal email server to transmit top secret information over in 2016, we heard nothing about the FBI's investigation into the liar-Clinton Foundation being finished.

He did no such thing and he couldn’t. He was a supposed prosecutor, not a judge. His bizarre news conference included a laundry list of crimes that he was willing to state on the record she was likely guilty of, but for which he had been instructed or decided not to prosecute her. {legalinsurrection.com} ~ If you’ve paid any attention to social media this week, you’ve likely seen several posts saying “me, too.”... Meant to amplify instances of sexual assault, and prompted by the innumerable Harvey Weinstein victims, women who believe themselves victims of such an instance have been encouraged by their peers to mark themselves by posting “me too” on their social media platforms. Some posts go in to great detail, others simply post those two little words. Though it may be genuinely well-intentioned, “me too” unfairly maligns men and perpetuates victimhood in the worst ways. Telling only one side of the story, without proof, and without providing the accused party opportunity to defend themselves is hardly a pathway to progress...  https://legalinsurrection.com/2017/10/how-me-too-unfairly-maligns-men-and-perpetuates-victimhood/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+LegalInsurrection+%28Le%C2%B7gal+In%C2%B7sur%C2%B7rec%C2%B7tion%29

FBI Reveals Russian Collusion — With
liar-nObama and liar-Clinton
fKpQImezzWVRfnEyf_GXEce2iWF_nfJWq_uf3cOiO0B5NPu3YnhRFrVtzeU-RyzDpepHq1hoJ9zMPaijGuWOm5jYyasHBkZRQwbXEnpaDk7vpSK_XCwrMgveFxwgubs=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?width=500by Louis DeBroux:  “Oh what a tangled web we weave, When first we practice to deceive.” —Sir Walter Scott (Marmion, 1808)

For more than a year, the mainstream media and the Democrats (but we repeat ourselves) were positively aflame with righteous indignation, broadcasting 24/7 claims that Donald Trump colluded with the Russians to rig the 2016 election, and demanding investigations into and the impeachment of President Trump.
One might be forgiven, in the age of the 24/7 news cycle that jumps from one outrage and crisis to another, for not recognizing the disappearance of the Russia story from the headlines. One might also conclude the story’s disappearance is due to Democrats being forced to admit there is no evidence, despite intense effort to find it, of Trump/Russia collusion.
Yet even that misses the real story, which is that Democrats are now desperate to bury this story as evidence mounts that there WAS collusion with Russian operatives … by Barack liar-nObama and liar-Hillary Clinton.
According to recently revealed files, the FBI had uncovered a plot by Russian officials and operatives as far back as 2009 in which The Hill  reports the Russians were “engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering designed to grow Vladimir Putin’s atomic energy business inside the United States.
Recall it was then-Secretary of State liar-Hillary Clinton whose department authorized the sale of mining company Uranium One to a Russian state-owned energy company, giving the Russians control of 20% of the U.S. uranium supply. At the time, liar-Hillary and the liar-nObama administration defended their decision, claiming there was no evidence of Russian government wrongdoing and no national security concerns to prevent the committee from authorizing the sale. We now know that to be an unmitigated lie.
It is also no coincidence that, around the time of the sale’s approval, liar-Bill Clinton cashed in a $500,000 speaking fee to give a speech in Moscow, and the liar-Clinton Foundation raked in $145 million in donations from nine shareholders in Uranium One.
Meanwhile, the genesis of the Trump/Russia collusion claim lies in a dossier compiled by former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele. Despite the claims in the dossier being either thoroughly debunked or still without corroborating evidence, a special counsel, in the form of former FBI Director Robert Mueller, was assigned to investigate.
And while any claims of interference in the internal political processes of our nation must be taken seriously, what must also be taken seriously is the increasingly evident reality that high-ranking Democrats, including Barack liar-nObama and liar-Hillary Clinton, were themselves the instigators of the very collusion they now seek to obfuscate.
The infamous Steele dossier that set these accusations ablaze was assembled on behalf of Fusion GPS, a firm that specializes in political opposition research. So it would seem obvious that the best way to get to the truth is to have the principals at Fusion GPS testify as to their knowledge regarding collusion.
That has become very difficult, however, as lawyers for Fusion GPS CEO Glenn Simpson say he refuses to testify, invoking his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. By its own admission, Fusion GPS lobbied for a Russian company with ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin. There is evidence that the Steele dossier, used to attack Trump, was commissioned at the behest of the Russians for the purpose of sowing confusion and discord into the American electoral process. Mission accomplished.
Just as disturbing is the fact that the FBI — the same FBI that was aware of Russian attempts to bribe and extort American officials and bureaucrats in order to acquire American uranium — has thus far refused to comply with a House Intelligence Committee demand to produce documents related to this investigation.
The tangled web grows more tangled still, as we note with concern that Mueller, the special counsel whose investigative team is loaded with liar-Clinton donors, was the head of the FBI when the discovery of Russian influence-peddling was made. This discovery would not be made public until four years after liar-nObama and liar-Hillary approved the sale of the uranium to the Russians.
Tangles upon tangles, we note that the investigation was supervised by then-U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein, an liar-nObama appointee currently serving as Trump’s deputy AG, as well as Andrew McCabe, who served as assistant FBI director under liar-nObama, and today as Trump’s deputy FBI director. This is the same McCabe who is under investigation for a $500,000 donation given to his wife, a Virginia state senate candidate in 2016, by Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, former DNC Chair and prolific fundraiser for the liar-Clintons, also now under investigation by the FBI.
The investigation into the Uranium One deal ended in 2015 at the direction of former FBI Director James Comey without ever briefing the FBI’s top counter-intelligence official or Congress on the staggering national security implications. That would be the same James Comey who leaked details of his conversations with President Trump for the purpose, by his own admission, of forcing the appointment of a special counsel to investigate Trump, recommending his buddy and former liar-nObama FBI Director Mueller, who buried the initial findings.
If you are thoroughly confused by this nefarious web of corruption, bribes, extortion and Russian influence-peddling, you are not alone.
Yet one thing seems increasingly evident: Those who were screaming the loudest now appear to have the most to hide.  ~The Patriot Pos

{townhall.com} ~ Did you happen to catch CNN's latest smear?

Anderson Cooper's show recently featured a "two-part exclusive" that claims Donald Trump's EPA director had conspired with the CEO of a mining company to "withdraw environmental restrictions" so the company could dig "the largest open pit mine in the world in an extremely sensitive watershed in wild Alaska."

The report was enough to horrify any caring person. CNN showed beautiful pictures of colorful salmon swimming in Bristol Bay, and the reporter intoned dramatically, "EPA staffers were shocked to receive this email obtained exclusively by CNN which says 'we have been directed by the administrator to withdraw restrictions' ... Protection of that pristine area was being removed."

No! A "pristine" area and gorgeous salmon were about to be obliterated by a mine!

I would have believed it, except I happened to report on that mine a couple of years ago.

I knew that the real scandal was not EPA director Scott Pruitt's decision to "withdraw the restrictions"; it was what President liar-nObama's EPA did to the company's mining proposal in the first place.

Zealots at the EPA had conspired with rich environmental activists to kill the mine before its environmental impact statement could even be submitted. This was unprecedented.

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform later concluded: "EPA employees had inappropriate contact with outside groups and failed to conduct an impartial, fact-based review."

Now, appropriately, Pruitt undid that censorship of science.

But CNN, implying devious secrecy said, "according to multiple sources, he made that decision without a briefing from any of EPA's scientists."

Shocking!

But Pruitt didn't require opinions from scientists. He didn't approve the mine. He didn't make a science decision. He simply followed the law and allowed a company to submit a proposal.

Also, despite CNN's repeated depictions of salmon on Bristol Bay, it turns out that the proposed mine would not even be on the Bay. It would not even be 10 miles away, or 20 miles away, or even 50 miles. The proposed mine would be about 100 miles away.

Did CNN mention that? No. Never. We asked CNN why. And why not point out that the mining company is just being allowed to start the EPA's long and arduous environmental review? They didn't get back to us.

Of course, explaining that wouldn't fit CNN's theme: Evil Trump appointee ravages environment.

Their reporter did at least speak with the mine's CEO, Tom Collier, who tried to explain.

"It's not a science -- it's a process decision."

But the reporter, Drew Griffin, wouldn't budge. He called Collier "a guy who wants to mine gold in an area that many scientists believe will destroy one of the most pristine sockeye salmon sporting grounds in the whole world."

By the way, Collier isn't an evil Republican-businessman-nature-destroyer. He's a Democrat who once ran environment policy for President liar-Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore. CNN never mentioned that either.

Instead, the reporter implied evil collusion: "This looks like the head of a gold mine went to a new administrator and got him to reverse what an entire department had worked on for years."

Here at least the report was accurate. liar-nObama's environmental department did try to kill that mine for years. They colluded with groups like the Natural Resources Defense Council, one of America's wealthiest environment groups.

The NRDC is mostly made up of anti-progress lawyers who want no mines built anywhere. Don't believe me? I asked NRDC spokesman Bob Deans:

STOSSEL: There are some mines where NRDC says, great, go ahead?

DEANS: It's not up to us.

STOSSEL: Are there any?

DEANS: It's not up to us to green light mines...

STOSSEL: Are there any you don't complain about?

DEANS: Yeah, sure.

So I asked him for some names. He and the NRDC still haven't provided any.

If these zealots and their sycophants in the media get their way, America will become a place with no mining, no pipelines, no oil drilling, no new ... anything.

The acronym used to make fun of anti-development attitudes used to be NIMBY -- Not In My Back Yard. Now it's BANANA: Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anybody.

Congresswoman Calls Trump a ‘Sick Man,’ and Then Gets a CAREER-ENDING Call

By admin | October 18, 2017

Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson caused a lot of unnecessary drama on Wednesday morning with her unsupported claims that President Trump disrespected the widow of a fallen soldier during a private phone call on Tuesday.
Trump-Wilson-777x437.jpgIt’s important to point out that the fact that President Trump took the time to call this woman already shows how much he cares about America’s Gold Star families. Trump has made sure to contact every family of any fallen soldier during his first term as President.

On Tuesday, President Trump made private calls to the families of four US soldiers who were killed recently in Niger.

But, now that Democrats are not able to criticize him for not calling the families, they are attacking him for what he allegedly said to the families. These Democrats are DISGUSTING!

Rep. Frederica Wilson blasted Trump on mainstream media on Wednesday morning accusing him of telling the widow that her husband “knew what he signed up for … but when it happens it hurts anyway.” Both Trump and the White House have vehemently denied this claim.

Wilson has said she is not politicizing anything, yet she has gone on numerous mainstream media outlets so far, telling them all that Trump is a “sick man.” And that he’s “cold-hearted and he feels no pity or sympathy for anyone.”

Here comes the KARMA!

After her tirade on the media, Wilson got a follow-up call from ABC News where her story seemed to change. She began referring to Trump’s words as what he “basically” said, rather than what he definitely said. And near the end of the interview, she even admits that she “didn’t hear the entire conversation” and that she “just can’t remember everything that [Trump] said…”

Wait…WHAT?!

So she is slamming our President for “basically” saying something that she may not even remember entirely… Do you see something WRONG here?

The White House responded to her accusations by assuring America that “the president’s conversations with the families of American heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice are private.”

This lying congresswoman’s career should be ENDED after this harmful stunt. People like Frederica Wilson have NO place in our political system.

Trump digs in over call to soldier’s widow: ‘I didn’t say what the congresswoman said’

Donald Trump dug in on Wednesday as his comments about fallen soldiers spiralled into the second major dispute of his political career with a bereaved military family.

Speaking to reporters in the White House, Trump contradicted the accounts of Sgt La David Johnson’s mother and a Florida congresswoman, who were in the car with the soldier’s widow, Myeshia Johnson, when Trump called her. They listened to the conversation on speakerphone.

Both women said the president told Myeshia Johnson that her husband, who was killed in an ambush in Niger two weeks ago, “knew what he signed up for”.

But Trump said: “I didn’t say what that congresswoman said. Didn’t say it at all – she knows it. I had a very nice conversation with the woman, the wife, who sounded like a lovely woman.”

Earlier, Trump had claimed in a tweet that he had “proof” that congresswoman Frederica Wilson’s account was a fabrication.Image result for trump@realDonaldTrump:Democrat Congresswoman totally fabricated what I said to the wife of a soldier who died in action (and I have proof). Sad!

When asked by reporters about this alleged “proof”, Trump simply said twice: “Let her make her statement again.”

Wilson promptly tweeted to say she stood by her account. She wrote: “I still stand by my account of the call b/t Donald Trump and Myeshia Johnson. That is her name, Mr Trump. Not ‘the woman’ or ‘the wife’.”

Trump’s remarks came after the soldier’s mother, Cowanda Jones-Johnson, spoke to the Associated Press via Facebook message to say she was in the car and heard the phone call. “The statement is true,” she said.

Jones-Johnson added that “not only did he disrespect my son” but Trump was disrespectful to her son’s widow. Jones-Johnson said she did not record the conversation.

Congresswoman Wilson said she travelled with Myeshia Johnson and Cowanda Jones-Johnson on the way to Miami international airport to receive the body of La David Johnson when Trump called, and heard the conversation.

When asked by Miami station WPLG if she indeed heard Trump say he “knew what he signed up for”, Wilson answered: “Yeah, he said that. To me, that is something that you can say in a conversation, but you shouldn’t say that to a grieving widow.” She added: “That’s so insensitive.”

Wilson told CNN: “The president evidently is lying, because what I said is true.”Trump-Wilson-777x437.jpgEscalating the criticism of the president, Wilson said: “He doesn’t even know how to sympathize with people. We’re grieving. This is a grieving community. It’s disgraceful for him to even tweet about this. And as I say, this gentleman has a brain disorder and he needs to be checked out.”

This is not the first time Trump has quarrelled with a grieving military family – something once considered unthinkable for a leading politician.

The Trump Nominee Poised to Be Point Man on Draining Government Swamp

President Donald Trump’s nominee to run the federal government’s bureaucracy could be a key player in reforming it, and in keeping the president’s campaign pledge to “drain the swamp.”

Trump last month nominated Jeff Tien Han Pon, 47, to be director of the Office of Personnel Management, the government’s human resources agency. Pon served in the administrations of both President Bushes—with jobs in the White House, OPM, and Energy Department—and held information technology and human resources positions in several private companies.

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee was scheduled to hold a confirmation hearing Wednesday on Pon’s nomination.

Pon is largely unknown to those who seek reform of the civil service, said Robert Moffit, a former OPM assistant director under President Ronald Reagan who is now a senior fellow for health studies at The Heritage Foundation.

“The OPM director has enormous authority and can help the president staff the administration, and would be welcome at a time when we don’t see any major draining of the swamp with the massive bureaucracy,” Moffit told The Daily Signal. “Every day, career bureaucrats are issuing decisions on guidelines and making interpretations of regulations. We need management there to take the bull by the horns.”

Trump’s previous nominee, George Nesterczuk, withdrew in August after relentless opposition from federal employee unions.

However, Pon seems less controversial and gained the backing of the Senior Executives Association, a nonprofit that advocates for top federal government officals. In a letter to the Senate, SEA President Bill Valdez wrote:

While serving at the Department of Energy, I had the privilege of working with Jeff on a project he initiated to improve human capital processes at DOE. The thought leadership he brought to that project is indicative of the skills and experience he will bring to his new role at OPM. Jeff’s expertise in human capital management has only grown since I worked with him in government, as evidenced by senior roles with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Futures Inc., and Booz Allen Hamilton.

Pon also doesn’t face outright union opposition.

“While it is early in the nomination process and we reserve final opinion, we appreciate the consideration to name a nominee with a diverse and rich professional history in federal human capital,” Randy Erwin, president of the National Federation of Federal Employees, said in a statement early last month to the publication Government Executive. “We look forward to learning more about Mr. Pon and we hope that he, if confirmed, will view employee organizations as valuable and significant partners.”

Trump is nine months into his administration without an OPM director, the official charged with managing the federal workforce. Moffit and other conservatives have criticized the president for not filling key political positions, which they contend is how he can control career federal employees who have civil service protections.

However, Trump recently told Forbes: “I’m generally not going to make a lot of the appointments that would normally be—because you don’t need them. I mean, you look at some of these agencies, how massive they are, and it’s totally unnecessary. They have hundreds of thousands of people.”

Trump’s vanquished Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, recently urged federal employees to stay, asserting: “I don’t want to lose decades—really, if you added it all up, the thousands of years—of experience in the EPA, in the State Department, in the Labor Department. … If [Democrats] can take back one or both houses of Congress in 2018, you will have people you can talk to again.”

Pon has been the chief human resources and strategy officer for the nonprofit professional membership organization Society for Human Resource Management, where he has worked since February 2012.

For about 18 months before that, he was chief operating officer for Futures Inc., which helps members of the military transition into the civilian workforce.

At barely 21, Pon worked in the White House Office of Public Liaison under President George H.W. Bush from 1991 to 1992. He returned to Washington to work for President George W. Bush as deputy director for e-government at the OPM from June 2003 to December 2005. He left to work as chief human capital officer at the Energy Department from January 2006 through August 2008.

In between the two Bush presidencies, Pon worked in information technology and human resource jobs at Federal Express, Williams Sonoma, PetCo, and Burger King. He has a doctorate in psychology from the University of Southern California.

CASE CLOSED: What Mueller Was Just Caught Secretly Doing With The Russians Is Horrifying

Mueller is a dirtbag and so is McCabe. Rosenstein is in on it too. Put the Clinton’s in jail. No hope for bail. Two scoops for me and you. Check this out.

From Today’s report, we found out that Robert Mueller helped quash case involving Hillary and the Russians.1HY7WG0_653_lt-696x392.jpg

Then Rod Rosenstein oversaw the investigation into the Uranium one scandal involving Hillary and the Russians. He is now President Trump’s Deputy Attorney General.

Andrew McCabe was assistant Deputy FBI director during Uranium One Deal and is now assistant FBI Director.

All the roads are leading back to Hillary Clinton. This is absolutely stunning. Before Obama approved the controversial America Uranium deal that gave 20% of our Uranium to Russia, the FBI knew that Russian industry officials were issuing kickbacks, extortion and money laundering to help Vladimir Putin, according to the Hill.

The evidence shows that Mosco compromised American uranium trucking firm with bribes and kickbacks in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, admitted the FBI in court documents.

According to eyewitnesses, Russian nuclear officials had sent millions to Bill Clinton’s foundation while Hillary Clinton was working as Secretary of State.Screen-Shot-2017-10-17-at-7.36.38-PM-696x463.png

The deal that was initiated by Hillary Clinton gave Putin ownership of 20% of US uranium, according to Senator John Barrasso (R-WY).

This means that Trump was right and that Mueller, Rosenstein and Andrew McCabe are the people driving the case against Donald Trump for so-called “Russian collusion.” Remember what he said?

They previously covered up collusion with Russia and Hillary Clinton. Why would they do anything different now?

President Donald Trump’s former press secretary Sean Spicer met with special counsel Robert Mueller’s team on Monday for an interview that lasted much of the day, according to multiple people familiar with the meeting.

During his sitdown, Spicer was grilled about the firing of former FBI director James Comey and his statements regarding the firing, as well as about Trump’s meetings with Russians officials including one with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the Oval Office, one person familiar with the meeting said.Screen-Shot-2017-10-17-at-7.33.48-PM-696x393.png

Spicer declined to comment. His attorney, Christopher Mead, did not respond to multiple calls and emails requesting comment.

Spicer’s interview has long been expected as part of Mueller’s ongoing and widening investigation into Russia’s potential interference in the 2016 presidential election. Before joining the Trump administration, Spicer served as press secretary to the Republican National Committee, and then worked out of Trump Tower during the end of the general election campaign and during the transition, as part of the Republican nominee’s team.

Mueller’s team has been tight-lipped about its process. But Spicer’s Monday meeting shows that Mueller is starting to ramp up interviews with current and former Trump administration officials. Former chief of staff Reince Priebus met with Mueller last Friday.Screen-Shot-2017-10-17-at-7.43.06-PM-696x407.png

Mueller’s team has also interviewed Keith Kellogg, who served as interim National Security Adviser after Michael Flynn was fired.

Share this immediately so that Trump gets the news ASAP. We need to save our President. The Russian investigation needs to frickin’ stop now.

Pruitt Holds the Line Against the Left at the EPA

For example, the Clean Power Plan — a carbon-capture scheme that was developed under Barack liar-nObama’s administration — was recently and mercifully flagged by EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt for elimination, saving the economy upwards of $73 billion annually.

Now it’s ecofascists’ turn to feel the direct influence of new management. Under McCarthy, “green” interest groups basically viewed the EPA as the go-to agency for changes to climate-related rules and regulations. Not anymore. As Reuters reports, Pruitt “issued a directive to his agency on Monday seeking to end the practice of settling lawsuits with environmental groups behind closed doors, saying the groups have had too much influence on regulation.
The report goes on to note, “The EPA under former President Barack liar-nObama quietly settled lawsuits from environmental groups with little input from regulated entities, such as power plants, and state governments.” How’s that for the most transparent administration in history? But according to Pruitt, “The days of regulation through litigation are over. We will no longer go behind closed doors and use consent decrees and settlement agreements to resolve lawsuits filed against the agency.”
Reuters adds, “Daren Bakst, a research fellow in agricultural policy at the Heritage Foundation think tank, said sue and settle has led to ‘egregious antics’ that have ‘effectively handed over the setting of agency priorities to environmental pressure groups,’ and has led to rushed rule making by the agency.” Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) regurgitated this view: “The Environmental Protection Agency should not make regulations by settling lawsuits behind closed doors. Under the last administration, the EPA advanced its political agenda by abusing its authority and leaving states and Congress in the dark. The public deserves to know how its government is operating.
There’s really no reason to oppose these changes — unless you’re an activist who can no longer deploy covert tactics to circumvent the Rule of Law. And, to no one’s surprise, green groups aren’t happy with Pruitt’s move. What became customary at liar-nObama’s EPA should never have become so. But it did, no doubt because McCarthy agreed with these lawsuits. liar-nObama’s EPA was not impartial, nor was it transparent or legally minded. Pruitt is doing a masterful job ensuring this injustice ends.  ~The Patriot Post

They believe that History is on their side, and this faith makes them haughty and disdainful, unable to acknowledge the defects in the post-national, post-cultural world they are constructing. Moreover, they are ignorant of the true sources of the humane decencies they themselves hold dear — as do we. They ignore, even repudiate the Christian roots of Europe. At the same time they take great care not to offend Muslims, who they imagine will cheerfully adopt their secular, multicultural outlook"..https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/11188/europe-erases-christianity

16 Years in Afghanistan
DskmZwy1UQBmqyj-GzEM1-nMwjgIXvsTumKpJ7pncLbze8g-8lkdVnNa6LsUBD5lwVebxtWXbjM3wu9hp9MLRDA3CBDijSYllne22yWZxBB72pEmK5DyrepdeRlBTz0=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?width=500by Todd Johnson:  Last week marked the 16th anniversary of the United States’ military and political involvement in Afghanistan, and sadly, there is no end in sight. The counterinsurgency operation has been at best a draw, and considering the amount of blood and treasure that has been expended, a tremendous disappointment for a nation that spends on more on its military than the next 10 nations combined.

More distressing than the lack of tangible progress on the ground is the lack of congressional input into the decision-making process. The latest news emanates from the Senate, where the Republican-led chamber recently voted down a proposal from Senator Rand Paul to sunset the current authorizations for operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Paul, an avowed critic of the U.S. operations in the Middle East, voiced the concerns of many Americans when he stated that the original authorizations no longer are applicable to the changing dynamics of the battlefield. He also railed against his colleagues for allowing “a perpetual war until the end of time.” His measure failed, 61-36, and was followed a couple of days later by the Senate’s 89-9 decision to fund a $700 billion dollar defense budget.
The peculiar decision-making in Washington, DC, hasn’t been relegated only to the halls of Congress. The Army Chief of Staff, General Mark Milley, was quoted at last week’s AUSA Conference saying, “We are training, advising, and assisting indigenous armies all over the world, and I expect that will increase and not decrease.” His statement was surprising for many reasons, primarily because the U.S. government’s (primarily the Defense Department) record of building indigenous forces in Afghanistan has been undistinguished.
According to the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan (SIGAR) report, released in September, not only was the United States government unprepared to build an Afghan army and police force in the early 2000s but its efforts in the interim have “lacked a comprehensive approach to SSA [security sector assistance] and a coordinating body to successfully implement the whole-of-government programs necessary to develop a capable and self-sustaining ANDSF [Afghan National Defense Security Forces].
And while it’s true that the Trump administration has underwritten a new set of rules of engagement(ROE) that allow U.S. forces to “employ air power without a requirement that the intended objects of attack be ‘proximate’ to U.S. forces or U.S. advised Afghan forces,” it isn’t clear how this new set of tactics will facilitate the American mission of building Afghan security forces capable of defending their country.
Since Trump took office, the pace of airstrikes against the Taliban and Islamic State in Afghanistan has reached a seven-year high. However, these strikes and new ROE also make it more likely that non-combatants will die and as a result create more fighters willing to engage U.S. advisers and Afghan forces on the ground. Quite simply, the tactics aren’t nested with a cogent national strategy and that means billions of dollars will be wasted in the future.
It is incumbent upon the president, his secretary of defense, and the rest of his national security team to be up front with the American people and explain what is at stake in Afghanistan and how we can emerge victorious, however that is to be defined. It’s important that success be achieved soon because our nation’s Armed Forces are going to be facing a critical manning issue in the very near future.
It was recently reported that the vast majority of American 17-24-year-olds (71%) can’t meet the minimum criteria for service in today’s Armed Forces. And, according to the Army Recruiting Command, while there 33.4 million Americans between the ages of 17-24, there only 136,000 who are interested in service and meet the basic requirements. Simply put, there aren’t going to be enough people to fight “forever wars.
After 16 years, something needs to change, and soon. Republics weren’t meant to fight prolonged wars and if the United States wants to continue being the primary international power its leadership must either decide to go all in for the mission in Afghanistan or withdraw. Our country deserves better than to be involved in a stalemate and only time will tell if the executive branch and Congress are up to the task.  ~The Patriot Pos

Rhythms of Life
by Tom McLaughlin

{tommclaughlin.blogspot.com} ~ “I got rhythm, I got music,” goes the old Gershwin lyric, and I like both. I can’t dance well and I don’t play any musical instruments, but the rhythms of life? I’ve willingly subjected myself to them and I’m better off for it. I’m in bed before nine o’clock every night and asleep minutes after, then I’m up and at it by 5:00 am. That makes me a morning person, but I wasn’t always. During the first half of my adult life I was a night owl who hated to get up in the morning. As a child, however, my daily routine had been parentally imposed — bed at 8:30 pm and up at 6:00 am, so I’ve gotten back to an older, more natural routine.

On that note, three Americans recently won a Nobel Prize for medicine because of their research into the benefits of what they call “circadian” rhythm. They claim bad things can result when we upset our daily sleep cycles, things like increased risk of cancer and “degenerative neurological conditions.”

Important as daily rhythms are, I think our annual rhythms are too and this year seems strange. As someone born and raised in New England I like my seasons, all four of them — even though up here in the mountains of Maine winter can be a bit too long. By March, nearly everyone wants it over and all of us long for signs of spring, even the tiniest manifestation, like a glimpse of bare ground between snow storms can be enough to sustain us for weeks, but we got none of those last spring. March was colder than January and April wasn’t springlike either. Summer was fine when it finally arrived, but now it has stretched into October. It feels unnatural.

From Portland Press Herald
One of those new Nobel Prize winners, Jeffrey C. Hall, lives in rural Maine. He’s retired with seven dogs and several Harley Davidson motorcycles in Cambridge, Maine, which is in the geographic center of the state — in the boonies. He’s not a stereotypical scientist with a lab coat, but instead looks just like any other pot-bellied, middle-aged, balding, white-guy, Harley driver you often see on the back roads of northern New England. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Washington DC, he gradually migrated north to New England, first to Massachusetts and finally to Maine. I wonder if he’s noticing how our seasonal rhythms are off this year.

Kezar Lake Sunset
I’ve been living in rural Maine forty years and we always expected the first frost shortly after Labor Day. We’d would get out the winter jackets for Fryeburg Fair week — not every day, but one or two. This year it was shorts and tee-shirts for most of October’s first week. I like wearing shorts with those little socks under my sneakers from June through August, but then I’m ready to don long pants and taller socks come September. We’ve always gotten a few warm days in the fall and they’re nice, but not every day. I’ve had to put a fan on me to sleep in both September and October. That’s not supposed to happen and it’s throwing off my annual rhythm.

Autumn in the Yard
Autumn in New England has its own smells too and they’re comforting to me as my olfactory sense gets stronger as I get older, although maybe it only seems that way as both my eyesight and hearing get measurably weaker. There’s a certain very pleasant scent detectable when I first step outside on a crisp, clear fall morning. I get a burst of energy when the weather cools that I used to expend on things like splitting and stacking firewood. Cool air and autumn breezes would keep me from sweating too much and I liked smelling smoke from a woodstove while I worked. I also liked keeping at it until sunset, then going inside for dinner.
Spring%2Bstorm%2Bin%2Bthe%2BYard%2B%25C2%25A9Tom%2BMcLaughlin%2B2017.jpg
Early snow in the yard
In November, I look forward to the first snow. I can always smell it before it comes and it’s comforting as long as I’ve got all my autumn chores done. November can be cold enough to break out the flannel-lined pants and woolen socks which I’ll then wear right through most of March, or all if it as I did this year because it was often below zero. If the first snow doesn’t come in November it’ll surely come not too far into December.
Passing%2BTime%2B%25C2%25A9Tom%2BMcLaughlin%2B2017.jpg
By then our days will have shortened, but government upset that rhythm by imposing Daylight Savings Time, which ends at midnight, November 4th this year. I wonder what Mr. Hall and his Nobel laureate colleagues think of that. I’d like to ignore the mandated time changes, but then I’d be an hour out of step with the rest of America.

More Cops Killed in the Line of Duty — Why?
SZbGKcYLnuV6kEwPjabGnhH4O4DEPFv6GaA-othM5RPd6ETZ1Z3bLhX0Yg80pBeerB2k5As1pIsmHaVD_00c9yIc1tVF7zaGKESHZqxIKtBl2Zybx_8jISSSZc7tAKk=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?width=500by Nate Jackson:  The FBI released its annual report on law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty Monday, and there are some noteworthy statistics and observations. Some 118 officers were killed in 2016, up 37% from the 86 who died in 2015. More troublesome, however, as Attorney General Jeff Sessions noted in a statement, “We saw a staggering 61 percent increase in the number of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty because of a felony (66 killed feloniously, up from 41 in 2015), and on average, more than 150 officers were assaulted in the line of duty every single day. These numbers are as shocking as they are unacceptable.” Indeed, that’s a worrisome increase, especially in tandem with the FBI’s crime statistics, which have also risen.

There is one caveat: The number of officers feloniously killed in each of the last 10 years has varied substantially. Beginning in 2007, the numbers are 58, 41, 48, 56, 72, 49, 27, 51, 41 and 66. There don’t seem to be any obvious conclusions to draw from that pattern. Nevertheless, we’ll make some observations.
Police officers are human and thus have the same tendencies toward abusing power or misbehaving as anyone else. In the age of body cameras and ubiquitous cell phone videos, we’re going to see what seems like more of this from a few bad apples than in years past. Community distrust can then be expected to rise.
But officers are by and large just trying to uphold the law while making it home to their families each night. They deserve our respect and support, not our disdain and protest.
To the latter, Barack liar-nObama’s war on cops has been not only a factually wrong and reprehensible political charade leading to obnoxious public displays like the NFL protests, it has been violent and deadly as inner city thugs channel that hate into rioting and the murder of police officers. If cops aren’t killed, they’re assaulted. No matter what they do, it seems, they’re accused of racism. The result has been what’s dubbed the “Ferguson Effect” — a reduction in policing followed by a substantial rise in crime, particularly in Democrat-run major cities.
While the statistics don’t reveal an indisputable conclusion, we do know that law-abiding citizens don’t kill cops. And the cop-killers do tend to be constituents of one particular political party.
“Every law enforcement officer goes to work knowing that today might be his or her last,” Sessions said. “Our law enforcement deserves the support of the people they serve. Fortunately we have a President who understands this.”  ~The Patriot Pos

It’s a question that, given the crotchety nature of the globalist agitator and his history is more than a fair one. The reporter asked, “Has your relationship with the President frayed to the point that you are not going to support anything that he comes to you and asks for?” The implication is that RINO-McCain hasn’t already been behaving in that manner and doing so since day one of the Trump Presidency. by Brian McNicol
{aim.org} ~ President Trump announced a decision to halt subsidy payments to the insurance companies in liar-nObamacare exchanges.

Many of the media response centered on the damage that decision did to President liar-nObama’s signature legislative achievement.

“Trump dropped the ax with timing that could inflict maximal disruption on the Affordable Care Act enrollment season,” the Washington Post wrote.

The decision constituted a “failure to lead,” and a “spiteful act of vast, pointless sabotage leveled at working families and the middle class in every corner of America,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck clown-Schumer of New York was quoted as saying. “This is not how the architects of the Affordable Care Act had intended the program to work,” the Huffington Post reported.

But what the Washington Post did not mention and the Washington Times sidestepped is this: The subsidies are illegal.

“The Trump administration announced late Thursday that it has concluded it can no longer legally make critical liar-nObamacare “cost sharing” payments and will cut them off,” Washington Times reporter Stephen Dinan wrote.

The government paid insurance companies to help them absorb the losses from the liar-nObamacare exchanges’ sickest, most unprofitable customers. Congress wrote a provision allowing for this into the original liar-nObamacare law, but it left it up to the annual appropriations process to actually get the money approved.

Congress never appropriated the money, but the liar-nObama administration continued the payments, which amounted to about $7 billion this year, claiming it clearly was Congress’ intent the payments be made. Members of the U.S. House of Representatives, led by then-speaker John backstabber-Boehner, R.-Ohio, sued the administration for spending money without congressional approval.

A Republican-appointed federal judge in Washington, D.C., ruled in favor of the members of Congress but allowed the payments to continue until the case could be heard in the U.S. Court of Appeals. In recent days, U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued a ruling the plaintiffs in the case likely would prevail, so the administration should eliminate the payments. Trump formalized that with his announcement last Thursday.

Mainstream media was not buying it. It will roil markets, they said. It will increase premiums, chase companies out of the market and perhaps create shortages.

The stories also noted that insurers and relevant government agencies had factored the subsidies into their rate plans for the coming year. Congress, which also knew the court case against the payments likely would prevail, had begun bipartisan efforts to address the issue as well. And, as was noted in the Huffington Post, “The Affordable Care Act has been a fragile program from the beginning.”

None took into account the positive impact of the other reforms Trump announced. Experts said that the plan to allow more association plans, in which organizations, such as churches and non-profits, can band together to purchase group insurance, could save consumers money by eliminating the bells and whistles the liar-nObama administration insisted the plans carry.

He also ordered changes to regulations governing short-term policies to lengthen the time they could be in effect from three months to a year and ordered regulations to be reformed so that these and the association plans can be sold across state lines – a change that could create larger risk pools, lower premiums and strengthen the industry considerably.

Trump got little public praise for what could be the most beneficial and momentous week in the history of U.S. health insurance policy. Practicality was restored with the announcement about the associated health plans, temporary health plans and, potentially most exciting, the ability to sell those plans across state lines.

And law and order were re-established on Capitol Hill.

“Under our Constitution, the power of the purse belongs to Congress, not the executive branch,” House Speaker Paul Ryan said. “Today’s decision by the Trump administration to tend the appeal of that ruling preserves a monumental affirmation of Congress’ authority and the separation of powers.”

{rickwells.us} ~ Jason Chaffetz describes Majority Leader Mitch McConnell as being “a very nice man” as he struggles to come up with arguments in favor of him remaining in his position as Senate Majority Leader... as Republican leaders get together in the White House to try to map out a way forward. {conservativetribune.com} ~ It turns out there may be some truth to the Russia collusion story, but it happened on former President Barack liar-nObama’s watch... and it has former Secretary of State liar-Hillary Clinton’s fingerprints all over it. According to a report Tuesday in The Hill, a controversial liar-nObama administration decision in 2010 to approve a deal that gave a Russian company control of 20 percent of the United States’ uranium supply came through, despite an FBI investigation at the time that showed “substantial evidence that Russian nuclear industry officials were engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering designed to grow Vladimir Putin’s atomic energy business inside the United States.” A confidential U.S. witness working inside the Russian nuclear industry made secret recordings and amassed emails going back as early as 2009 that showed Moscow bribed an American uranium trucking firm with kickbacks, violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, according to The Hill...  https://conservativetribune.com/russian-scandal-hillary-holder/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=CTBreaking&utm_campaign=breaking&utm_content=2017-10-17

{washingtonexaminer.com} ~ Sen. Lamar Alexander, chairman of a key committee that has been working on a bipartisan deal to stabilize liar-nObamacare... said Tuesday that he has arrived at an agreement with Sen. Patty Murray, the committee's top Democrat. The deal would fund liar-nObamacare's insurer funds, known as cost-sharing reduction payments, for two years, and includes what Alexander refers to as "meaningful flexibility" for states. Trump abruptly cut off the subsidies last week, and the bipartisan deal would reinstate them for the end of this year. It would allow insurers to sell "copper plans," to people who are older than 30, which tend to have higher deductibles and offer fewer benefits than more expensive options, but could be one way to attract individuals into the market who have fewer medical needs. States also would receive grants for outreach, paid for by user fees, to help people enroll in the plans...This is not a deal at all. {townhall.com} ~ It now appears that Donald Trump's intention regarding the North American Free Trade Agreement is to mend it, not end it. That's good news, because the trade deal has been a stunning economic success for Canada, Mexico and the United States. Freer trade has meant steady increases in the volume of trade, greater competitiveness and lower prices.

But as Trump's negotiators craft a NAFTA 2.0 deal, some things need to be fixed to assure America's continued commanding heights in technology and innovation. Intellectual property rights -- patents, copyrights and so on -- need to be better safeguarded.

There have been abuses. In an unprecedented move, Canadian regulators recently ordered an American pharmaceutical company to lower the price of the company's breakthrough treatment for a rare blood disorder.

Canada is inventing new rules to avoid paying American pharmaceutical and technology companies for their innovations and inventions. This is also happening in Europe, where bureaucrats are trying to expropriate funds from American technology leaders, including Google, through bogus charges of monopoly activities.

The Trump administration should vigorously repel these economic attacks against American companies. This is a very big deal for the American economy. Intellectual property is increasingly the lifeblood of our economy. IP-intensive industries support 28 million American jobs -- or about 1 in 5 workers. About $6 trillion of our GDP now is in IP-related industries, including almost all of Silicon Valley.

Many of NAFTA's IP provisions do not prevent infringement of patent rights and, in some cases, outright theft as in the case of China. This costs American consumers and businesses an estimated $200 billion annually.

Consider our drug companies. American pharmaceuticals recorded $47 billion in exports in 2015. Yet despite this and the fact that the vast majority of drug breakthroughs come from America, the U.S. currently has a $700 million trade deficit with Canada and only a tiny trade surplus with Mexico in biopharmaceuticals.

Our trade partners do not want their citizens to pay for the costs of the research and development required to invent these breakthrough medicines in the first place. It typically requires $500 million to $1 billion to develop a new drug or vaccine, and American consumers shouldn't bear the entire burden of those costs. It drives up drug and health insurance costs in America, and it jeopardizes world health by delaying the development of future cures for cancer, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, Parkinson's and other terrible diseases.

Even worse, Mexico is producing "knockoff" drugs that are copycats of American pharmaceuticals. This is stealing, too, and negotiators should get tough on these practices south of our border.

The same abuses are happening with American trademarks and copyrighted materials. NAFTA doesn't sufficiently protect movies, music and games from theft and distribution online.

NAFTA should impose civil and criminal penalties for illicit access to cable and satellite signals and other preventable infringements in which American firms are not compensated for use of the product.

The future of free and fair trade depends on rigorous enforcement of America's multitrillion-dollar IP industries. This is about jobs -- millions of them -- and the rule of law. It is also about encouraging the very innovation that promotes prosperity and better health in America -- which we then export across the globe to the betterment of mankind. It will also help boost public and business support for trade as a driver of growth in the years to come.

MASSACHUSETTS: Public school forces students to pretend to be Muslims in the “Islamic” city of Jerusalem as part of a class assignment

Not only that, they were assigned to work in groups in which they would simulate a historical Hajj (pilgrimage) to Islam’s holiest city  – Mecca (aka Makkah) in Saudi Arabia – during class. (Gee, I wonder if the teacher told the students that ONLY Muslims can enter the city of Mecca at any time. No filthy Jews or Christians allowed, as you can see by the many signs like the one below found in Saudi Arabia)

FOX News All of this was part of a class assignment used in Newton Public Schools to teach about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, a new report revealed.

One father was particularly upset when he discovered his daughter had been assigned what he described as an inflammatory pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel article, according to the report. The man was told by the school’s principal that lessons the next year would be even more upsetting to him.

The class assignment, “Cities: Connecting the Islamic Word,” was published in an excerpt from a book by CAMERA, the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting.

“As our concluding project on the Islamic world, you will work in groups to simulate a historical hajj (pilgrimage) to Mecca in class,” a teacher wrote in the assignment description. “Each of you will be part of a group of Muslim pilgrims from one of the following eight Islamic cities or regions, around a rough time period.”

One of the eight “Islamic” cities is Jerusalem, and students are instructed to set up a “tent,” which will display newspaper articles about “their” cities and cultural artifacts to represent their Islamic “hometowns.”

The CAMERA report, “Indoctrinating Our Youth: How a U.S. Public School Curriculum Skews the Arab-Israeli Conflict and Islam,” is a case study on allegedly biased materials used by Newton Public Schools to teach 9th and 10th graders about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and Islamic history and culture. Newton is located about seven miles outside Boston, in a Middlesex County suburb.

“Citizens of Newton have been waging a minor war with school officials for years now, trying to get them to use balanced curriculum in their teaching materials on the subject of Islam and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” Judicial Watch Senior Investigator Bill Marshall told Fox News.

Marshall detailed his investigation, alongside chairman of Citizens for National Security Dr. Bill Saxton, in an op-ed for the American Thinker. The results of the research compiled by Saxton and Marshall were used in the CAMERA report.

Newton parents and residents contacted Saxton, who heads CFNS, a Florida-based research organization that vets textbooks for factual accuracy to get them corrected or removed. Saxton spearheaded the two-year effort with Marshall at Judicial Watch to get the release of nearly 600 pages of teaching material from the Newton Public Schools.

ALSO IN MASSACHUSETTS

Saxton told Fox News the Newton school board and superintendent were “very uncooperative” and “non-transparent” regarding what was in their textbooks. “I’m not sure we got everything,” Saxton said. “[But] we got so much damning material to go ahead with it.”

He added: “Parents and grandparents have absolutely no idea what their children and grandchildren are reading and hearing in school about history and geography. How many of them have read or looked at their textbooks, for example?”

Marshall said the teaching materials “use as little, if any material on the violent history of Islam.” In one lesson plan on the “Spread of Islam” the teacher’s notes indicate Muslim conquerors acted “decently” to their subjects.

“When you hear so much caterwauling from the Left about religion being mixed in the school, it’s a little troubling when kids are being asked to go on an imaginary Hajj,” Marshall said.

Saxton called it an example of a “purposeful attempt to indoctrinate our impressionable high-schoolers with the ‘virtues’ of Islam at the expense of Christianity, Judaism and other religions.”

FBI Russia investigation points to Clinton

NOTE: When writing about God and Jesus, The Daily Jot means YHVH as God and Yeshua Ha Mashiach as Jesus--the actual original names and the true nature and character of them.
Wednesday, October 18, 2017
In March, the Daily Jot reported that when Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State she completed a deal where nuclear grade uranium was sent to Russia scoring $145 million to the Clinton Foundation, Bill Clinton received $500,000 for a speech in Moscow, Clinton's campaign Chairman John Podesta did a $35 million energy deal with Russia, and the Clinton Foundation received $2.35 million in donations from Ian Telfer, head of Russia's uranium company. Now the FBI is releasing information that indicates both the Clinton's and the immediate past "president" were involved in what appears to be a bribery/kickback scheme with Russian officials in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
A lengthy story by John Solomon and Alison Spann of The Hill documents that federal agents "obtained an eyewitness account-backed by documents-indicating Russian nuclear officials had routed millions of dollars to the US designed to benefit former President Bill Clinton's charitable foundation during the time Secretary of State Hillary Clinton served on a government body that provided a favorable decision to Moscow." That government body would be the Committee on Foreign Investment and Hillary Clinton brokered a deal where Russia gained control of more than 20 percent of America's uranium supply. Nonetheless, the news media, despite documented facts, continued to push the narrative that President Donald Trump was in league with the Russians to influence the US election.
One of The Hill's sources says: "The Russians were compromising American contractors in the nuclear industry with kickbacks and extortion threats, all of which raised legitimate national security concerns. And none of that evidence got aired before the [sic ex-"president's"] administration made those decisions." Attorney General Eric Holder also was part of the committee that brokered the uranium deal. The Russian chicanery was blamed on then candidate and now President, Donald Trump. A willing news media hardly reported on the uranium deal and all the money that went to the Clintons and their foundation, but pounded Americans with Russian election interference news.
If you look at who had pre-election deals with Russia, Hillary Clinton and the ex-"president" would be poster children. Hundreds of millions of dollars exchanged hands between Russia and the Clinton Foundation when Clinton was Secretary of State in the ex-"president's" administration, and these deals were supported by the ex-"president." The more they pushed Russian ties with Trump, the more deals they did with Russia themselves. This is an ongoing effort to conduct a bait and switch on the American people. As said in 2 Timothy 3:13, " But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived." This is some of the worst deception of this generation.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Students Walk Out of New Jersey High School Protesting Teacher’s ‘Speak American’ Comments

(

Students in New Jersey staged a protest by walking out of school Monday morning in response to the viral video showing an English teacher telling students to “speak American,” according to WPIX.

The 25-second recording at Cliffside Park High School has gone viral and it has provoked a debate online.

"…men and women are fighting. They are not fighting for your right to speak Spanish," the teacher can be heard saying, "They are fighting for your right to speak American."

This comment prompted three students to immediately walk out of the classroom. One accused the teacher of being prejudiced on her way out.

"You’re being racist," the student can be heard saying. "I know how to speak English."

Students said the teacher, who was substituting in a junior-senior level math class that day, has chastised them for speaking other languages before.

"She would usually be in the hallways and tell you not to speak Spanish," freshman Omar Toledo said. "Which would be really messed up because we are not in her class and we have the right to speak what we want to speak."

The protest began with about 15 students outside the Bergen County high school in between third and fourth periods, but soon after, students began to pour out of the school. Some waved flags out of the school windows and on the front lawn to represent their culture.

"We wanted to make a statement obviously and let it be known hopefully this is the last time it will ever happen," junior Jasmeen Velesco said.

About an hour-and-a-half into the protest, the school’s fire alarm was triggered and the entire building was evacuated. It remains unclear who or what set off the alarm, but most students returned to class soon after.

WPIX has reached out to the school's superintendent for comment.

{aei.org} ~ As Abba Eban observed, “Men and nations behave wisely when they have exhausted all other resources.” So it goes with America and the Iran deal... President Trump announced Friday that the U.S. would stay in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, even while he refused to certify under U.S. law that the deal is in the national interest. “Decertification,” a bright, shiny object for many, obscures the real issue—whether the agreement should survive. Mr. Trump has “scotch’d the snake, not kill’d it.” While Congress considers how to respond—or, more likely, not respond—we should focus on the grave threats inherent in the deal. Peripheral issues have often dominated the debate; forests have been felled arguing over whether Iran has complied with the deal’s terms. Proposed “fixes” now abound, such as a suggestion to eliminate the sunset provisions on the deal’s core provisions. The core provisions are the central danger. There are no real “fixes” to this intrinsically misconceived agreement. The Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, to which Iran is a party, has never included sunset clauses, but the mullahs have been violating it for decades...  http://www.aei.org/publication/a-slow-death-for-the-iran-deal/?mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiTmpZMlpqUmtOVFJoT1RJeiIsInQiOiJiajRXdkVoV0ZuZ1hjZEpcL1NKOHNpVHc0K3Y1MjR6ZFwvQ0QyM3ZERkhzTVwvU25jazBEOWRwdFlSUnFaeGlFOGFXUTdYNWt6ZTdhdFhGZ3o3WE5ISEhKMWE2aWNGWm0rSU5WSStMMm1tXC84T1hDMEVmR1dpT2JSQkFiWXJ6XC9zbVdlIn0%3D

{allenwest.com} ~ A new gun-control proposal in Congress that is being pitched as a bipartisan bump stock ban would actually ban all semi-automatic rifles in the United States, according to an analysis of the proposed bill... The legislation, which was drafted by Rep. Carlos Curbelo, a Florida Republican, never bans bump stocks by name. Instead, the proposal bans any person from possessing or making any part that could be used to increase the rate of fire in any semi-automatic rifle. The lead co-sponsor on the gun control bill is Rep. Seth Moulton, a Massachusetts Democrat and U.S. Marines veteran who completed four tours of duty in Iraq. “It shall be unlawful for any person … to manufacture, possess, or transfer any part or combination of parts that is designed to increase the rate of fire of a semi-automatic rifle,” the bill states. At no point does the proposed legislation specify a base rate of fire against which any illegal increases would be judged, a potentially fatal flaw in the bill’s drafting. As a result, the proposal arguably institutes a federal ban on any and all parts that would allow the gun to fire at all, since the mere ability to fire a semi-automatic weapon by definition increases its rate of fire from zero. I want to make myself absolutely clear: I don’t support the Curbelo-Moulton legislation...  https://www.allenwest.com/2017/10/16/gop-gun-control-bill-fatal-flaw-may-ban-rifles/

by Pat Buchanan
{townhall.com} ~ With his declaration Friday that the Iran nuclear deal is not in the national interest, President Donald Trump may have put us on the road to war with Iran.

Indeed, it is easier to see the collisions that are coming than to see how we get off this road before the shooting starts.

After "de-certifying" the nuclear agreement, signed by all five permanent members of the Security Council, Trump gave Congress 60 days to reimpose the sanctions that it lifted when Teheran signed.

If Congress does not reimpose those sanctions and kill the deal, Trump threatens to kill it himself.

Why? Did Iran violate the terms of the agreement? Almost no one argues that -- not the UN nuclear inspectors, not our NATO allies, not even Trump's national security team.

Iran shipped all its 20 percent enriched uranium out of the country, shut down most of its centrifuges, and allowed intrusive inspections of all nuclear facilities. Even before the deal, 17 U.S. intelligence agencies said they could find no evidence of an Iranian nuclear bomb program.

Indeed, if Iran wanted a bomb, Iran would have had a bomb.

She remains a non-nuclear-weapons state for a simple reason: Iran's vital national interests dictate that she remain so.

As the largest Shiite nation with 80 million people, among the most advanced in the Mideast, Iran is predestined to become the preeminent power in the Persian Gulf. But on one condition: She avoid the great war with the United States that Saddam Hussein failed to avoid.

Iran shut down any bomb program it had because it does not want to share Iraq's fate of being smashed and broken apart into Persians, Azeris, Arabs, Kurds and Baluch, as Iraq was broken apart by the Americans into Sunni, Shiite, Turkmen, Yazidis and Kurds.

Tehran does not want war with us. It is the War Party in Washington and its Middle East allies -- Bibi Netanyahu and the Saudi royals -- who hunger to have the United States come over and smash Iran.

Thus, the Congressional battle to kill, or not to kill, the Iran nuclear deal shapes up as decisive in the Trump presidency.

Yet, even earlier collisions with Iran may be at hand.

In Syria's east, U.S.-backed and Kurd-led Syrian Democratic Forces are about to take Raqqa. But as we are annihilating ISIS in its capital, the Syrian army is driving to capture Deir Ezzor, capital of the province that sits astride the road from Baghdad to Damascus.

Its capture by Bashar Assad's army would ensure that the road from Baghdad to Damascus to Hezbollah in Lebanon remains open.

If the U.S. intends to use the SDF to seize the border area, we could find ourselves in a battle with the Syrian army, Shiite militia, the Iranians, and perhaps even the Russians.

Are we up for that?

In Iraq, the national army is moving on oil-rich Kirkuk province and its capital city. The Kurds captured Kirkuk after the Iraqi army fled from the ISIS invasion. Why is a U.S.-trained Iraqi army moving against a U.S.-trained Kurdish army?

The Kurdistan Regional Government voted last month to secede. This raised alarms in Turkey and Iran, as well as Baghdad. An independent Kurdistan could serve as a magnet to Kurds in both those countries.

Baghdad's army is moving on Kirkuk to prevent its amputation from Iraq in any civil war of secession by the Kurds.

Where does Iran stand in all of this?

In the war against ISIS, they were de facto allies. For ISIS, like al-Qaida, is Sunni and hates Shiites as much as it hates Christians. But if the U.S. intends to use the SDF to capture the Iraqi-Syrian border, Syria, Iran, Hezbollah and Russia could all be aligned against us.

Are we ready for such a clash?

We Americans are coming face to face with some new realities.

The people who are going to decide the future of the Middle East are the people who live there. And among these people, the future will be determined by those most willing to fight, bleed and die for years and in considerable numbers to realize that future.

We Americans, however, are not going to send another army to occupy another country, as we did Kuwait in 1991, Afghanistan in 2001, and Iraq in 2003.

Bashar Assad, his army and air force backed by Vladimir Putin's air power, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran, and Hezbollah won the Syrian civil war because they were more willing to fight and die to win it. And, truth be told, all had far larger stakes there than did we.

We do not live there. Few Americans are aware of what is going on there. Even fewer care.

Our erstwhile allies in the Middle East naturally want us to fight their 21st-century wars, as the Brits got us to help fight their 20th-century wars.

But Donald Trump was not elected to do that. Or so at least some of us thought.
(Buchanan failed to mention, Iran is not welling to let inspections be conducted at their nuclear sites.)

BREAKING BOMBSHELL: Hillary, Obama, Holder, Comey, Mueller and 2 Key Officials Leading Trump-Russia Collusion Investigation Are All Linked To HUGE Secret Russian NUCLEAR Deal

So much for that whole Trump-Russian collusion fake news story…

Yesterday, the founder of Wikileaks, Julian Assange sent a cryptic tweet that contained a series of number and letters. Someone out there knows what that code means, and they are very likely shaking in their boots today.

On another front, two writers from separate publications were set to publish what Sean Hannity was calling a “huge bombshell” story that was due to break today.

Last night on Fox News’ Hannity show, Sean Hannity warned that a huge bombshell would be breaking today. Sean told his audience that Circa News Sara Carter and The Hill’s John Solomon have HUGE BREAKING NEWS. Hannity told his audience, “Let me put it this way, if I’m Hillary or fake news, I won’t be sleeping well tonight.”
