Ramadan begins in Yemen: Islamic State murders 31 with bombs at Shi’ite mosques

“The bombs exploded almost simultaneously just after sundown on the eve of Ramadan” — and so the month in which Muslims rededicate themselves to the service of Allah gets a bloody kickoff, in what the perpetrators no doubt believe to be a great act of service to Allah. “Dozens killed and injured in Sanaa mosque […]

Clear Channel runs ad praising Muhammad, refuses ad criticizing Muhammad

As I wrote recently, Muhammad is now the man we all must love. Clear Channel, as my AFDI colleague Pamela Geller explains here, shows what that means: they readily accepted the Muslim Brotherhood group ICNA’s deceptive ad about Muhammad, but refused our ad critical of Muhammad, and even refused our ad quoting Muhammad from mainstream […]

Muslim clerics: Those who insult Muhammad have “no right to live”

These clerics represent the vast majority of international opinion today. Most of the mainstream media agrees with them, as do most Christian clerics in the West — although those two groups would couch their refraining from doing anything to insult Muhammad as “respect” and avoiding “gratuitous provocation.” They are sowing a future of slavery and […]

New York City: Another Muslim arrested in Islamic State plot investigation

“The arrest by the Federal Bureau of Investigation came a day after U.S. officials accused a New York college student of plotting to set off a pressure-cooker bomb in support of the Islamic State militant group.” This arrest seems to be connected with that plot. And so the arrests are coming daily now, and the […]

Is What’s To Come In Syria Still Unsure?

Oh, by that I don’t  mean who’s in and who’s out and who “will win.” This month, we are told, the Islamic State in eastern Syria is now unstoppable, or it’s the Al-Nusra Front that is on first in Homs — or is Aleppo? — and a few months ago, it was Assad, aided ably […]

That Imaginary War Room

We have all had fantasies — have we not? — of being President or Chief of Staff, and being present, somewhere in the Pentagon, in a War Room that, we like to think, directs that campaign of self-defense against the hydra-headed Jihad. And we like to imagine, too, what might go on in that room, […]

Islamic State in Sudan: “We are here for the sake of Allah”

“These young students, from Khartoum’s upper middle class, are believed to have entered Syria illegally and are currently volunteering as medics in ISIS strongholds.  RUBIO NICKS WALKER, PERRY UP, KASICH KRUMBLES
Scott Walker still has the clear advantage in polling, but give Marco Rubio the edge this week for the political jujitsu move of the month. Rubio made the most of an error in a NYT piece pummeling him for dicey financial moves as a younger man – that described his fishing boat as a “luxury speed boat.”
Now, an $80,000 pleasure boat is not exactly a cocker spaniel, but Rubio’s jack hammering of the Times has a bit of Richard Nixon’s “Checkers” speech to it. Reporters who want to take issue with Rubio’s finances will have to make it about way more than watercraft from here on in. That no doubt helped Rubio as he was auditioning for Romney’s money men in Utah at Camp Mitt this weekend. These are people who spend $80,000 on boat storage, not boats.
The only other candidate or crypto-candidate who right now meets the credibility threshold to beat Bush would be Ohio Gov. John Kasich. But with Kasich’s choice of a campaign team that specializes in double-dog-daring primary voters to back their candidates, he seems unlikely to seek broad-based appeal. Kasich seems instead to be picking a trajectory in which he and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will be battling coffee-shop-by-coffee-shop for a Huntsmanian third-place finish in New Hampshire.
Rick Perry, despite having the worst-ever campaign song in the history of recorded music, is showing that in addition to a new found humility he is also packing a superior campaign organization this time around. Perry’s focus on the military and foreign policy will also serve him well on the trail.  -Fox News

WITH YOUR SECOND CUP OF COFFEE
Next time you categorize something as a failure don’t be so quick to write it off. Sometimes it just takes a couple of centuries…The Magna Carta, arguably one of the most important documents in history, was very nearly lost to history. In 1215,King John needed a means to regain support after many of the barons rebelled against him, and he faced a growing threat of invasion from France. To ensure support at home the king drafted a charter called the Magna Carta, a peace treaty protecting barons from monarchical abuse, in addition to other rights listed. Within a month, King John broke the treaty, however, and the Magna Carta was considered a failure. But in 1642 when civil war broke out in England, Chief Justice Sir Edward Corke used the document as proof of limiting monarchy power, leading to his dismissal from the bench and charges of treason. Leap ahead another 100 years or so and the Magna Carta was once again used in the American Revolutionary War.

House Resolution introduced condemning academic boycott of Israel
(William A. Jacovbson) ~ No university in the U.S. is considering a boycott, as far as I know, and in many ways ties are expanding. The American Studies Association and a handful of much smaller faculty professional organizations have adopted the boycott... but even ASA had to back down from its key provision excluding most Israeli academics from its annual meeting. There have been, and undoubtedly will be more, attempts to get larger faculty organizations to adopt the boycott, but so far that has not happened. There are complaints from some Israelis also of an undeclared boycott of them personally in the humanities, with some American professors refusing to interact. But beyond the actual results, there is no doubt that the academic boycott movement is a malicious attack not just on Israel, but also on our entire academic system. It is led by some of the most outrageous campus characters, the rhetoric often is abusive, and the environmenthostile and threatening.        http://legalinsurrection.com/2015/06/house-resolution-introduced-condemning-academic-boycott-of-israel/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+LegalInsurrection+%28Le%C2%B7gal+In%C2%B7sur%C2%B7rec%C2%B7tion%29

Boston Partners With The Feds To Market Citizenship To Illegals
(Rachel Stoltzfoos) ~ Boston joined five other cities Tuesday to partner with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to market citizenship to legal and illegal immigrants in their cities... For the next three years, Boston will encourage legal and illegal residents to pursue citizenship by providing them with tools and education. Boston Public Library branches will establish “Citizenship Corners” to ensure easy access to citizenship preparation materials, and USCIS will provide training about the naturalization process to librarians and city officials, so they can help immigrants in search of information.  House Passes Resolution To Release Imprisoned Americans In Iran
(Sumner Park) ~ The House unanimously passed a resolution on a 391-0 vote Monday that calls for the immediate release of the three Americans being held imprisoned in Iran and any information of disappeared U.S. citizens within its borders... As President nObama negotiates a nuclear deal with the Islamic republic, the legislature has been pushing Iran to release the Americans, according to the Military Times. “I hope the government of Iran will heed of the message sent by the House and free Pastor Saeed and other Americans,” Labrador told Clearwater Tribune, who represents one of the families of Americans detained in Iran.       http://dailycaller.com/2015/06/16/house-passes-resolution-to-release-imprisoned-americans-in-iran/

hanoi John Kerry Announces Another Nuclear Concession To Iran
(Jeff Dunetz) ~ One of the key demands the U.S and the P5+ partners made of Iran is that the rogue nation come clean about all the elements of their nuclear program prior to the agreement.  On Tuesday Secretary of State hanoi Kerry walked away from that requirement... The reason that demand is important is the international community cannot confirm that Iran has halted its pursuit of nuclear weapons unless Tehran comes clean on all past and continuing nuclear weapons-related activities. Iran agreed in November 2013 to resolve with the IAEA a list of possible military-related nuclear activities in 12 areas. As of June 2015, Iran has only resolved questions in one of these areas and has claimed the other areas are based on forgeries and fabrications. A real deal with Iran requires answers to those questions to establish a baseline for verification. The United States cab not agree to a nuclear deal with Iran unless the baseline issue is resolved  satisfactorily.        http://yidwithlid.blogspot.com/2015/06/john-kerry-announces-another-nuclear.html?utm_source=The+Lid+List&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=01818ff2f5-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_term=0_597b72c01c-01818ff2f5-291705165&goal=0_597b72c01c-01818ff2f5-291705165

Britain: Bid to Crack Down on Islamic Extremism Faces Resistance
(Soeren Kern) ~ Britain is facing an "unprecedented" threat from hundreds of battle-hardened jihadists who have been trained in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, according to MI5, the domestic counter-intelligence and security agency... It warns that are now more Britons trained in terrorism than at any point in recent memory. More than 700 Britons are believed to have travelled to Syria and Iraq, according to British authorities. Over half of these Britons are thought to have since returned home, where they pose a significant threat to national security. Britain's terrorism threat alert is at the second-highest level of "severe," meaning an attack is "highly likely."        http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/5989/britain-counter-extremism

Would-Be Islamic State Terrorist Charged in New York
(investigativeproject.org) ~ A 20-year-old Queens, N.Y. man is charged with planning an attack in the name of the Islamic State terrorist group (ISIS)... Munther Omar Saleh was arrested on Saturdaywith two others after charging a police cruiser. One of his co-conspirators had a knife in the waistband of his pants. Investigators believe Saleh was trying to make a bomb to blow up somewhere in New York in ISIS' name. When the FBI had a confidential source pose as a radical Islamist and reach out to him, Saleh wrote that he was "in NY and trying to do an Op." He quickly cut off contact with the FBI source, saying he was ordered by ISIS to do so. Saleh first appeared on law enforcement radar in March after a Port Authority officer saw him walking across the George Washington Bridge with a lantern. Saleh asked the officer for a ride across the bridge; the officer refused and directed him toward a bus depot on the New Jersey side of the bridge. The same officer saw Saleh on the bridge the next day. The officer escorted Saleh to the New Jersey Port Authority office, where he was questioned and denied any familiarity with ISIS.        http://www.investigativeproject.org/4885/would-be-islamic-state-terrorist-charged-in-new

Liberals Make Big Comeback in 2015, Poll Analysis Finds
(Janet Hook) ~ There are signs that liberals are making a comeback — and not just because a socialist is running for president, gay marriage is spreading like wildfire and pot legalization is gaining acceptance... A new analysis of Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll data finds a marked  increase in the share of registered voters identifying themselves as liberals, and an even bigger drop in the share saying they are conservatives. In three national polls conducted so far in 2015, the analysis found that 26% of registered voters identified themselves as liberals — up from 23% in 2014. At the same time, the share of voters identifying as conservatives dropped to 33% from 37% in 2014.        http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2015/06/07/liberals-make-big-comeback-in-2015-poll-analysis-finds/?utm_source=newsletters&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=JVL+06_17_2015

These are documents Clinton's State Dept. didn't want you to read
(Sarah Westwood) ~ State Department officials cut out embarrassing passages of a report before publishing it during Hilly Clinton’s last days as secretary of state... Earlier drafts of the final document reveal details about the “undue influence” that is mentioned only briefly in the published version released to the public the month Clinton left office, February of 2013. The Washington Examiner obtained a dozen drafts of the report that revealed officials under Harold Geisel, the temporary inspector general during Clinton’s four-year tenure, let sections be edited out in late 2012.  Former D.C. Government Official Sentenced for Fraud
(fbi.gov) ~ Neil S. Rodgers, a former District of Columbia government official, was sentenced today to a period of incarceration and ordered to pay full restitution on a charge stemming from his role in channeling $110,000 in youth and drug prevention grant funds that were used to pay for an inaugural ball... The sentencing was announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Vincent H. Cohen, Jr., Andrew G. McCabe, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office, and Thomas Jankowski, Special Agent in Charge of the Washington Field Office of the Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation. Rodgers was found guilty in March 2015, by a jury in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, of first-degree fraud. The Honorable Senior Judge John D. Bates sentenced Rodgers to 36 days of incarceration, to be served over 12 weekends. He also ordered him to pay $110,000 in restitution.  Imported Muslims arriving now in these U.S. cities
(Leo Hohmann) ~ A few congressmen are fighting to block the planned importation of thousands of Syrian refugees into American cities and towns, arguing that they present a grave security risk because many Syrians have ties to the Sunni rebel groups ISIS and al-Nusra Front... But the fact is, as President nObama ignores the concerns of U.S. Rep. A Vote for Trade Promotion Authority
Is Not a Vote for nObama
George Will
.
(nationalreview.com) ~ Before presidential politics — the game of getting to 270 electoral votes — completely eclipses governing, there is the urgent task of getting to 217 votes in the House of Representatives to pass Trade Promotion Authority (TPA). This would guarantee a vote without amendments on the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement. Without TPA, any trade agreement will be nibbled to death in Congress by persons eager to do organized labor’s bidding. So, Republicans who oppose TPA are collaborating with those who oppose increasing the velocity and rationality of economic life.
.
TPA touches two challenging problems: one economic, one constitutional. Regarding both, conservatives have special responsibilities.
.
The economic challenge is to generate economic growth sufficient to restore vigor and upward mobility to an underemployed America, sustaining national security and entitlements as, every day, another 10,000 baby boomers become eligible for Social Security and Medicare. The constitutional problem is how to restore institutional equilibrium by bringing the presidency back within the restraints the Founders devised with the separation of powers.
.
Only conservatives can turn economic policy away from the self-defeating aim of redistribution, and toward growth. This goal would be advanced by the trade agreement among the twelve nations who together account for 37 percent of the world’s GDP and one-third of world trade. Defeating TPA, and thus the agreement, is a service most House Democrats will perform for a reactionary faction, organized labor. Defeat would, however, make economic dynamism even more elusive, punishing the nation without meaningfully disciplining the president.
.
This vote comes in the turgid wake of a first quarter in which the economy shrank 0.7 percent — the third quarterly contraction during the anemic recovery that is slouching into its seventh year. The aging recovery began in June 2009; another recession may arrive without there having been a real recovery from the previous one. For Democrats devoted to policies of redistribution, economic growth is an afterthought. Only Republicans can make possible the freer trade that can combat the lingering stagnation that is Barack nObama’s painful legacy.
.
This month, Republicans can extinguish the Export-Import Bank, a deplorable instrument for government intervention in economic transactions, simply by not reauthorizing it. How perverse it would be to do so while also opposing TPA and (hence, in effect) freer trade, which would make economic activity less subject to distortions by governments.
.
In the 19th century, Republicans embraced a braided duet of vices — big government and crony capitalism. Adept at using tariffs to purchase the loyalty of particular constituencies, Republicans opposed free trade. Twenty-first century Democrats generally want government rather than markets to regulate commerce and allocate opportunity, so they recoil from any enlargement of the sphere of economic freedom. The fact that TPA would make possible the ratification of an agreement that is an imperfect enlargement is no reason for Republicans to help Democrats protect the power of governments to further politicize economic life.
.

Some Republicans are understandably reluctant to give any satisfaction to nObama, who disdains them as much as he does constitutional limits on presidential power. But a stopped clock is right twice a day and he rightly favors freer trade.
.

Some Republicans resist granting fast-track authority, a traditional presidential prerogative, to a president who has so arrogantly disregarded limits on executive discretion. It is, however, unnecessary to defeat fast-track authority (thereby defeating freer trade) in order to restrain this rogue president. The 22nd Amendment guarantees his departure in 19 months. His lawlessness has prompted congressional resistance on multiplying fronts. The judiciary, too, has repeatedly rebuked him for illegal executive overreaches. So, it is neither necessary nor statesmanlike to injure the nation’s future in order to protest nObama’s past.
.

Representative Paul Ryan campaigned hard to prevent a second nObama term, but he strongly favors TPA. He notes that if nObama’s negotiations about Iran’s nuclear program were being conducted under guarantees of congressional involvement similar to those contained in TPA, Congress would enjoy statutorily required briefings on the negotiations and access to the negotiating documents. Furthermore, any agreement with Iran would have to be made public for examination at least 60 days before nObama signed it, after which the agreement could not take effect unless Congress approves it.
.

nObama has all the friends in Congress he has earned and deserves, so even among Democrats this cohort is vanishingly small. By passing TPA, House Republicans can achieve a fine trifecta, demonstrating their ability to rise above their justifiable resentments, underscoring his dependence on them and on Congress, and illustrating his party’s dependence on factions inimical to economic vitality.

House Democrats Doom nObama's Trade Deal
In a vote that served a smackdown on nObama's trade deal with Pacific countries, House Democrats voted against a provision that was supposed to sweeten the legislation allowing nObama the authority to fast track the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The Senate had sent two measures to the House: Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) was the legislation that gave the chief executive authority to negotiate this trade deal, and Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA), a Democrat priority, was legislation that — as the leftists viewed it — protected American workers (read: unions) when the economy experienced freer global trade. On Friday, the House overwhelmingly rejected TAA in a 302-126 vote and narrowly passed TPA 219-211. Both chambers need to agree on the legislation before it heads to nObama's desk. So TPA will head back to the Senate where it may or may not pass; the bill's on life support.
This comes as nObama lobbied hard for the measure to pass. He showed up at the congressional baseball game to personally lobby lawmakers. He even made his way to Capitol Hill to talk to Democrats — the first time in two years. It was personal, it was desperate and, ouch, Pulosi and Co. betrayed him. "Basically, the president tried to both guilt people and then impugned their integrity, and I don't think it was a very effective tactic," said Democrat Rep. Peter Defazio (D-OR). Both parties are split in Congress over the issue. But those who love Liberty should appreciate that we have more time to debate a trade deal.  -The Patriot Post

China's Theft of Federal Employee Data Demands a Response
Not only has China scraped up the data from all federal employees past and present, the Office of Personnel Management said it had "a high degree of confidence" that the country has every SF-86 form submitted by any American seeking a security clearance. Former general council to the NSA and former National Counter terrorism Center head Matthew Olsen said the data could be used many different ways by the oppressive Chinese regime, "whether it's [to] blackmail, to recruit, [or] to punish individuals in China who are connected to people in the United States." As it's been said before, China has been creating a massive database on American citizens, and it has also hacked into the databases of health insurance companies in the past to gather data. Furthermore, anonymous sources are saying the data theft of federal employees didn't just affect four million people. Instead, the breach could affect as many as 14 million Americans. In response to impeding U.S. intelligence efforts, cataloging Americans like merchandise and sitting poised to wreak further havoc on our country, let's hope the U.S. is also matching China's data collection efforts. In this game of espionage, let's make it so China also cannot keep secrets. More...

 June Deadline for 'Islamic Bomb'
As yet another supposed "deadline" approaches for a final agreement with Iran over its nuclear program, the sheer determination of Barack nObama to get any deal he can before he leaves office — literally any deal — becomes more and more the driving force behind our negotiating position.
Having once said "We cannot allow Iran to get a nuclear weapon; it would be a game-changer in the region" and claiming "I will always keep the threat of military action on the table," nObama is now willing to ignore Iranian nuclear violations, ignore Iran's willful violation of UN Security Council resolutions, ignore Iran's role in the Syrian war, ignore Iran's continued arming and equipping of Hezbollah, ignore Iran's defacto control of Iraq, ignore the mortal threat a nuclear Iran would pose to Israel, and ignore the history of the current Iranian regime, all in the hope of getting something on paper with which to declare his foreign policy legacy.
The most recent interim agreement openly ceded to Iran everything it needs to produce nuclear weapons if it will only refrain from open mischief for ten years. Ten years is a blink of an eye to a nation. Consider that just slightly more than ten years ago a previously little-known Illinois senator was delivering the keynote address at the Democrat National Convention in Boston, or that nearly 25 years have passed since the first Gulf War.
With a sense of its own history stretching back nearly 6,000 years, Iran understands how quickly ten years will pass, at which time it can begin industrial-scale enrichment without penalty. Ten years will also produce advances in Iran's ballistic missile program, another subject once linked to the nuclear program but now tossed aside by the White House.  -The Patriot Post

It’s REALLY more like ‘Jeb?’ Than ‘Jeb!’
The biggest disadvantage that Jeb Bush has isn’t his last name, but rather the relative quality of the Republican field he is facing.
That’s not to say that being George W. Bush’s little brother is an unalloyed positive for the former Florida governor. But as polls have shown, it is (no surprise) less of a problem for GOP primary voters than with the general electorate. Plus, Dubya is mellowing in the cask of public opinion, especially as President nObama flails about over Iraq.
The younger Bush obviously understands the liabilities involved with his family name and the basic American resistance to dynasties. Otherwise, he wouldn’t pick a logo that emphasizes a nickname that sounds as if it were ringing across the tennis courts at Andover.
But don’t let them kid you. If you wanted to be president and could choose whether to be the son and brother of presidents or be the son of a small-town preacher or a Miami bartender, you know what you’d pick. Bush was born on third base; everybody else had to hit a triple.
But still, as he launches his official candidacy, Bush is struggling to assert his dominance. Bush is probably a better establishment-backed candidate than either of the two after his brother, and both John McCain and Mitt Romney won by comfortable margins. Yet, this time seems different.
Part of it is technique. While Hilly Clinton has lowered the bar dramatically for forthrightness, accountability and probity, Bush’s decision to invoke his Right to Raise unlimited sums for six months before actually declaring hasn’t exactly set him up to run as the tribune of the people.
But the biggest part is that Bush is facing serious competition. In 2008, Romney had to keep other viable establishmentarians out of the field, particularly then-Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels. Once the field was set, Romney had only one real threat: then Texas Gov. Rick Perry. But Perry was a bust. Everything after was just delaying the inevitable.
This time, Bush has at least two rivals in Gov. Scott Walker, R-Wisc., and Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., whose talents and positions make them real alternatives. Remember, the way the previous two candidates put away the nomination: Mainstream Republicans blanched at the thought of nominating candidates seen, fairly or not, as one-dimensional, social issue grinds.
Neither Walker nor Rubio is that kind of candidate. If either makes it into the home stretch with Bush, the surge is more likely to come for the underdog rather than the current frontrunner. Unless Walker and Rubio succeed in destroying each other and leaving the way open for a riskier pick, Bush will not have the advantage of declaring his final foe electorally toxic.
Jeb Bush is a better candidate in many ways than Romney or McCain were. But unfortunately for him, his chief rivals are furlongs ahead of the 2008 and 2012 pack.  -Fox News

 Is Israel Alone?
(Michael Doran, Elliott Abrams & Charles Krauthammer) ~ The last years have strained the relationship between the United States and the State of Israel. The two nations have serious policy disagreements and the nation’s leaders deeply distrust one another... Is this a true crisis? Is the America-Israel relationship fundamentally changing? Is Israel alone in an increasingly dangerous Middle East? Israelis and American friends of Israel hope that ties of popular affinity, military cooperation, intelligence sharing, and strategic alliance against radical Islamism and terror bind the two states together. For the moment, both of America’s major political parties pledge to stand behind Israel at the United Nations and on the battlefield. Practically all Israelis across the political spectrum believe that strong ties with the United States are important to the survival of the Jewish State. Judging by these lights, at least, one might think that we are going through a bad patch—as Israel has with previous American administrations of both political parties.       http://tikvahfund.org/advanced-institutes/is-israel-alone-the-past-present-and-future-of-the-u-s-israel-relationship/?utm_source=Mosaic+Newsletter&utm_campaign=5caa8050f0-Tikvah_Institutes_Fall_20156_16_2015&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0b0517b2ab-5caa8050f0-42459765

God, Politics, and the Future of Europe
(George Weigel) ~ Europe—for so long the political, cultural, and military center of the world—is in crisis... Various European countries are in the grips of economic calamity, reflecting a mix of unwise policies and cultural exhaustion. Demographic decline is weakening the entire continent. In many European capitals, Islamic radicalism—including violent crime and outright terror—is on the rise, and the return of anti-Semitism is raising questions about Europe’s dark past, and leaving many Jews to wonder whether they need to exit en masse for their own safety and dignity. From Dublin to Athens, from Lisbon to Warsaw, religious observance is down or non-existent, and the spirit of nihilism pervades the land. The problems in Europe seem only more remarkable in light of the European faith in its own post-national experiment—the belief that the centralized administration of the continent would create a new, pacified, welfare-state model for all. But this dream now likes more like the beginnings of a new nightmare.        http://tikvahfund.org/advanced-institutes/god-politics-and-the-future-of-europe/?utm_source=Mosaic+Newsletter&utm_campaign=5caa8050f0-Tikvah_Institutes_Fall_20156_16_2015&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0b0517b2ab-5caa8050f0-42459765

Why the Liberals Can’t Get It
(Dr. Michael Ledeen) ~ I am a big fan of John Hinderaker over at Powerline, and you can see why if you read one of his latest, this one about the Democrats’ lack of any sort of coherent national security policy. Here is the essence of it... Democrats are incapable of devising a coherent strategy for dealing with (our problems), and seemingly don’t even try to do so. The charitable explanation is that they are incompetent. But perhaps it is because they aren’t sure what their desired ends are. Do they want the U.S. to win? Do they want us to be powerful, prosperous, influential and successful? That is not a hard question for most Americans, but it is for leading Democrats like nObama and Clinton. If you don’t know the answer to that question, then coming up with a strategy is tough. That, I suspect, is what we have seen for the last six or seven years. It’s the basic question about the nObama administration (Hinderaker however is focused on Hilly Clinton and her failed Libyan actions): is the long list of foreign policy failures due to stupidity and incompetence, or to some sort of purposeful malevolence?       http://www.aim.org/guest-column/why-the-liberals-cant-get-it/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email061615&utm_medium=email

nObama Prepares More ‘Executive Actions’ On Global Warming
(Michael Bastasch) ~ President Barack nObama is preparing to unleash a series of “executive actions” aimed at boosting the green energy industry as part of the president’s global warming agenda... nObama is launching a “Clean Energy Impact Investment Center” at the Energy Department to “make information about energy and climate programs … accessible and more understandable to the public, including to mission-driven investors.” The White House is also ordering the IRS to come out with guidance and rules to get nonprofits to invest in green energy technologies, along with creating more government financing options for small businesses looking to go green.        http://dailycaller.com/2015/06/16/obama-prepares-more-executive-actions-on-global-warming/

Illegals Who Kill and the President That Loves Them
(ixthisnation.com) ~ According to President nObama and the Democrats, we have nothing to fear from illegal immigrants. Many support turning off our immigration laws altogether and throwing the border wide open... Let any Mexican or South American who wants a home in America to simply ride into the country for a swift path to citizenship. But a new case has shed light on a deportation system that is failing to keep American citizens safe from the bad guys. Government data released Monday shows that 121 illegals who were released back into the community went on to commit “homicide-related” crimes. This data has indicated to many critics that we are not doing enough to pursue deportation for these illegals. The case brings to light the problems regarding the deportation of illegals. Under a 2001 Supreme Court ruling, illegals can only be detained for six months. This puts the administration in a tough spot, especially when the home country will not have the immigrant back. But experts say the majority of these cases have more to do with ICE’s discretionary policies than they do strict time limits on detention.        http://www.fixthisnation.com/conservative-breaking-news/illegals-who-kill-and-the-president-that-loves-them/

Feds Can’t Verify $2.8 Billion in nObamacare Subsidies
(Elizabeth Harrington) ~ The federal government cannot verify nearly $3 billion in subsidies distributed through nObamacare, putting significant taxpayer funding “at risk,” according to a new audit report... The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Inspector General (OIG) released an audit Tuesday finding that the agency did not have an internal system to ensure that subsidies went to the right enrollees, or in the correct amounts. “The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services CMS’s internal controls did not effectively ensure the accuracy of nearly $2.8 billion in aggregate financial assistance payments made to insurance companies under the Affordable Care Act during the first four months that these payments were made,” the OIG said. “CMS’s system of internal controls could not ensure that CMS made correct financial assistance payments,” they said. This smells fishy to me.        http://freebeacon.com/issues/feds-cant-verify-2-8-billion-in-obamacare-subsidies/

Face Reality: Many Muslims Support ISIS
(Tarek Fatah) ~ In the last week of May, the Qatar-based Arabic news network Al-Jazeera polled its Arabic-language audience on the question... "Do you support the victories of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in your region?" The results were shocking. Of the 56,881 Arabic-speaking respondents, a whopping 81% voted yes. The results of this online survey may not be scientific. But they do provide anecdotal evidence of what many see as a rise in the support of Islamism in the Arab Middle East, among Muslims in the Indo-Pakistan subcontinent, and in the diaspora in Britain and France. On Monday, a 17-year-old Briton became that country's youngest suicide bomber after he blew up a brand new SUV packed with explosives in the northern Iraqi town of Baiji. Talha Asmal had Arabized his name to Abu Yusuf al-Britani and is the latest young person used by jihadi Islamists as cannon fodder in their quest to establish an Islamic caliphate. This is laid out in sharia law, as a precursor to the Islamic Armageddon enshrined in Hadith literature, based on Prophet Mohammed's prophesy.       http://www.meforum.org/5331/many-muslims-support-isis

nObama: Muslim Jihadists Can Join American Military To Be Trained
(Theodore Shoebat) ~ The nObama administration has now given an invitation to jihadists to join military forces in the Middle East to be trained by US troops so that they can learn how to fight against Bashar al-Assad. Middle East analyst Robert Olson reports on the story... The administration's assessment that the American people don't care that much about the wars in Iraq and Syria is correct, in spite of hawkish members of Congress who trumpet the need for more "boots on the ground." This situation could quickly change if a Republican were to be elected president. I would not doubt for a moment that these trained jihadists will use their American training against US citizens in America. No doubt these jihadists will kill Christians. nObama is helping create an army that will persecute and slaughter Christians. There is no doubt nObama has done many wrong things and this is one of them.        http://freedomoutpost.com/2015/06/the-obama-administration-declares-that-muslim-jihadists-can-join-american-military-forces-to-be-trained-by-us-soldiers/

Checking China’s military build-up in the South China Sea
(James A. Lyons & Richard Fisher) ~ China intends to ignore the nObama administration’s demand that it halt its military base-building in the South China Sea. It is time for Washington to face a new reality... Either it leads the way to a new “armed peace” in this region, or China will soon commence a war for domination. First, it is important to understand why China will continue to ignore Washington, as it has rebuffed nearly 20 years of regional diplomacy seeking to avoid conflict over this crucial maritime region, now used annually by 40 percent of the world’s merchant ships. Simply put, for China’s Communist Party leadership, control of the South China Sea is essential to protect Hainan Island as a base from which it intends to project global military and space power, and which it views as essential to ensuring the survival of its political dictatorship.       http://www.aim.org/guest-column/checking-chinas-military-build-up-in-the-south-china-sea/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email061715&utm_medium=email

 REPUBLICANS QUIVERING IF OBAMACARE OVERTURNED
(Garth Kant) ~ The congressman’s voice was calm but there was exasperation in his words, and an implicit concern that Republicans were poised to snatch defeat from the jaws of a major victory... Referring to a Supreme Court decision, due any day now, that could effectively overturn nObamacare, U.S. Rep. Raul Labrador, R-Idaho, lamented, “I think there is some fear in some circles in the Republican Party that if this decision goes our way that it’s actually bad for us.” Sounding incredulous, he told reporters on Capitol Hill, “And I’m having a hard time understanding that, because, if it goes our way, then it will be exactly as we’ve been saying: that the way it was passed was wrong, that it was illegal and there might even be some constitutional issues with it.” The dilemma perceived by some in the GOP is, if the Supreme Court does rule in King v. Burwell that the federal health-care exchange was set up illegally, Republicans will get the blame when as many as 6.4 million Americans suddenly have no subsidies to pay for their insurance.     http://www.wnd.com/2015/06/republicans-quivering-if-obamacare-overturned/

(freedomsback.com) ~ It’s increasingly difficult to tell the difference between Teach for America — whose leaders are at the forefront of inflammatory anti-police protests in Baltimore, Ferguson, and now McKinney, Texas — and left-wing activist groups such as Organizing for Action (President nObama’s partisan community organizing army).
.
Guess what, taxpayers? You’re paying for it!
.
Wendy Kopp founded Teach for America in 1989 after writing her Princeton University thesis on the need for a “national teaching corps” of elite college grads who would serve students on short-term stints in low-income neighborhoods. The do-gooder group has exploded into a massive, nonprofit business.
.
“Between 2000 and 2013, ” researchers at the National Educational Policy Center reported, “TFA’s yearly operating expenditures increased 1,930 percent — from $10 million to $193.5 million. Of those expenditures, TFA annual reports show that about a third of operating costs are borne by the public.” Individual TFA chapters have raked in millions in federal AmeriCorps grants, supported by leaders in both political parties. Large corporations (including $100 million donor Wal-Mart), philanthropic foundations, and individuals have pitched in nearly a half-billion dollars in tax-deductible charitable private donations.
.
Teach for America spends copious amounts on advertising, lobbying and public relations to hype its academic benefits, but its record on producing benefits for students is mixed. Government teachers’ unions don’t like the organization’s fast-track “boot camp” training or its support of public charter schools. But those concerns pale in comparison to the divisive, grievance-mongering activities of the group’s increasingly radicalized officials and alumni.
.
TFA’s most infamous public faces don’t even pretend to be interested in students’ academic achievement. It’s all about race, tweets and marching on the streets.
.
In Durham, North Carolina, two Teach for America officials led costly traffic blockades over the Ferguson, Missouri, shooting last December. North Carolina blogger A.P. Dillon identified protester Rachel Schankula as a TFA executive coach and program director dating back to 2001. Protester Robert Terrell Stephens, cited by police for attempting to incite a riot, is currently TFA’s director of alumni teacher leadership and also served as a community organizer for nObama for America.
.
Deray McKesson, described by TFA as a “protestor,” is a finalist for the organization’s $10,000 Peter Jennings Award for Civic Leadership, which will be announced next month. He briefly taught sixth-grade math for the program before graduating to full-time racial rabble-rousing.
.
A gushing New York Times reporter credited McKesson and his social justice warrior partners with building “the most formidable American protest movement of the 21st century to date.” He uses Twitter to jump the gun on every police-related shooting across the country. He fanned the flames over the bogus “NAACP bombing” in Colorado Springs. This week, McKesson scurried to McKinney, Texas, along with the National of Islam, New Black Panther Party, and assorted rent-a-mob professionals, to turn a pool party fight into an international incident.
.
“We are currently at the McKinney Police Department, occupying space,” he breathlessly reported. One of his fellow peace-loving instigators at the rally thundered: “We’re setting the stage for a terrorist attack in this country, and the group is not going to be ISIS.”
.
Another fellow TFA traveler is Brittany Packnett, the executive director of St. Louis’s Teach for America chapter. She’s also a finalist for the group’s Peter Jennings Award and a McKesson ally. They published a Ferguson newsletter together, distributing it to activists around the country — and inside the Justice Department. Her Twitter profile shows her making the debunked “Hands up, don’t shoot” gesture in front of a line of police officers. Credited with putting the “#BlackLivesMatter” Twitter hashtag on the map, the 29-year-old St. Louis-area activist was tapped by President nObama to join his federal policing commission.
.
Packnett briefly taught third grade as a TFA instructor in Washington, D.C., before diving into political organizing to represent “our collective truth” and promote “the urgency of now.”
.
Packnett pointedly praises “the fact that TFA has consistently had my back” in her quest for “disruptive change and systemic change.” She bragged that TFA co-CEO Matt Kramer accompanied her to protests in St. Louis. Another proud moment for TFA’s St. Louis leader: Her conversion of a 25-year-friend who went from having actual jobs as a pharmacy technician and furniture store employee to becoming a “field organizer for the Organization for Black Struggle.”
.
Teach for America has transformed itself into a recruiting center for militants bent on occupying themselves with anything other than imparting knowledge and academic excellence to children in the classroom. When a government-funded outfit abandons education as its mission in favor of social agitation, it’s time to cut off the taxpayer pipeline

TOP RIGHT HOOKS

Barack, Francis, Hot Air and Social Justice

The United Nations is apparently now writing “climate change” encyclicals for the Vatican. On Monday, an Italian magazine leaked a draft copy of Pope Francis' 191-page address on the topic. Taking a page from the Left’s playbook, the pope insists that curbing global warming is a moral imperative. “Humanity is called on to be aware of the need to change lifestyles, production and consumption,” he says, because the world is filled with a “culture of waste.” We are all for using energy judiciously and curbing waste, but not under the pretense of a UN-Vatican mandate. The encyclical coincides with Obama’s announcement this week of his plans for more climate “executive actions” in order to bypass Congress. Like Obama, the Pope has long advocated for liberation theology, a doctrine similar to that propagated by Obama’s religious mentor, Jeremiah Wright, and other Marxist promoters of “social justice.” Many Catholics in the U.S. take strong exception to the pope acting as a water boy for the UN. Big-government statists at the UN welcome the pope’s statement, as it may assist with the UN’s global climate treaty negotiations at the upcoming Paris summit — a treaty which would be more accurately called a “global economic control” treaty. Obama insists, “If I can encourage and gain commitments from the Chinese to put forward a serious plan to start curbing their greenhouse gases, that then allows us to leverage the entire world.” However, Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) made clear that neither he nor his Republican colleagues are drinking Obama’s Kool-Aid: “The Senate is not going to ratify any international climate treaty that continues this trend [centralizing the global economy].”

Obama May Fundamentally Transform Economy

The Obama administration claims that the money dropping into the U.S. debt hole has declined. Jobs are up. The economy is coming back. (Y'know, except for those pesky winters.) But the reports are coming in that counter the administration’s propaganda. First, the Congressional Budget Office issued a report Tuesday claiming that, if left unchecked, the U.S. debt will become much, much worse. “The long-term outlook for the federal budget has worsened dramatically over the past several years, in the wake of the 2007-2009 recession and slow recovery,” the CBO said in its report. The debt could double by 2040 if left unchecked. It’s a massive problem, almost too large for any politician in Washington to recognize, but one that will affect the economic vitality of the nation far into the future. Part of the problem is that entitlement spending is going to increase as the baby boomer generation heads into retirement. As for the generation that’s supposed to keep entitlement spending going, millennials have entered the job market at the lowest part of the recession. According to statistics blog Five Thirty Eight, that generation holds more personal debt, makes less money and owns fewer and less expensive homes. Furthermore, because millennials entered the job market in a tough economic time, they will make less money over the course of their careers. Thank to his administration’s shenanigans, Barack Obama could have the legacy of fundamentally transforming the American economy.

Hillary, The Miser

In 2014, Hillary Clinton spoke at a Boys and Girls Club fundraiser. Like most of the “dead broke” politician’s speeches, this one was for a fee: $200,000. Usually, a speaker appearing at a nonprofit will charge a fee and then donate it back, especially if it’s a smaller organization. That’s what Condoleezza Rice did when she spoke at the Boys and Girls Club in 2009. But not Clinton. She turned around and deposited the check into the Clinton Foundation. Politico reports, “[F]undraising experts and people affiliated with some nonprofits on the list — including the Boys and Girls Club — grumbled that the hefty price tag for securing a Clinton speech is a significant drain on small charities' fundraising and that community-based nonprofits could put the money to better use.” Furthermore, Clinton’s campaign is running off the work of full-time interns who work for free. The Guardian reports that the people taking these jobs are seasoned politicos who wish to enter Clinton’s good graces. How can she talk about a bad economy and a wage gap when she doesn’t take care of the people working to get her elected? Remember, this is the same Hillary Clinton that said, “I don’t think Americans are against success, I think they’re against people who get on top of the ladder and starts pulling it up so that nobody else has the same chance that they had. … Those of us who do have opportunities how to be doing more to help other people do the same.”

A Short History of the Trans Fats Witch Hunt

By Jim Harrington

2015-06-17-e14fe79c_large.jpg

In the year 1975, a mother was likely to give her children a snack with trans fats in it. Those fats were considered healthier, the benefits of nutritional innovation. Fast-forward 40 years and America considers trans fats a pariah and a substance that directly leads to heart disease.

Last week Mommy Government decided that no level of trans fat is healthful in the American diet. It therefore completely banned the substance by 2018 so that you’ll have one less danger stalking you.

In banning a certain ingredient from food, the government assumes too much responsibility over Americans' lives. David Harsanyi points out that the government’s justification that the ban prevents heart disease could justify a battery of food bans — including on alcohol and cigarettes. Instead, big-government social engineering must decide what we consume — even if its groupthink may be wrong.

Trans fats can be found in fried foods, margarine and commercial baked goods. They aremanufactured fats that take saturated fats and stabilize the substance through a process called hydrogenation.

Trans fats were initially developed in Germany and later went into large-scale production in England. In 1909, Proctor and Gamble bought the rights for the U.S. market, and their first product, a partly hydrogenated cottonseed oil used as shortening, was named Crisco.

Products using trans fats quickly became popular. During World War II, when dairy products were scarce, margarine took the place of butter. Trans fats also found uses as preservatives and for improving products' texture. In the 1960s the government and scientists both recommended using them in food preparation rather than saturated fats such as lard and butter. Of course, cigarettes were being advertised as a boon to your health, too.

The Atlantic points out, “A 1961 Time magazine article that railed against the dangers of saturated fat (found in meat and dairy products), and … consumers began to view margarine and shortening as healthier alternatives.”

“In the 1980s,” the Atlantic continues, “some scientists began to associate heart disease with saturated fats, and in response, groups such as the Center for Science in the Public Interest and the National Heart Savers Association … began to hound manufacturers [to stop] poisoning America … by using saturated fats… In 1990, a New York Times food writer said CSPI’s campaign prompted fast-food chains to ‘slim down’ by switching to frying in shortening.”

Activists got their wish. Low fat became de rigeaur in restaurants and among “health-conscious” people. Fat was out. Chicken breast was in. And those of us who revel in our Royale with cheese and a good donut or two have become politically incorrect.

But a funny thing happened. In the late 1980s, just as Al Gore was warming up, scientific “consensus” began to shift away from trans fats. A decade later, healthy food activists were saying the fats contributed to clogged arteries. Indeed, they may be a more insidious threat than saturated fats, they said.

Ironically, as The Atlantic reported, Center for Science in the Public Interest, the organization that initially lobbied for the wide use of trans fats, turned around and told the FDA to add warning labels to any food that contained them. In 2006, the FDA required companies to label their products with the quantity of trans fats they contain and include a warning that no amount of trans fat is safe. Enjoy your meal.

This comes at a time when the average consumption of trans fats has dropped 80% in the last decade. The FDA was issuing its warnings, and people were making their own decisions about their diets.

Large food companies have already started to make the switch to other kinds of oils, but smaller businesses likely still have a stock of trans fat products. With rent, wages, taxes and now additional regulation, it doesn’t make sense to get rid of them any sooner than necessary.

Once again we see the absurd spectacle of a government treating its citizens like infants. Not only are we regulated beyond absurdity, the rules also change every generation or so. Who are these people who spend their careers writing these preposterous warnings for the “children” who work at real jobs and pay their salaries?

Adding injury to insult, now that time has passed in which “grave damage” has been visited upon millions of victims of trans fats by manufacturers that knew all along they were poison, the wolves are coming out of the woods. Personal injury lawyers are lining up to go after the deep and not so deep pockets of firms that produced an entirely legal product.

As long as the government is allowed to treat citizens as infants — a situation with which far too many are comfortable — regulations will continue getting more ridiculous and more expensive for everyone. Is it too much to tell the government to start treating Americans like a group of adults?

OPINION IN BRIEF

Ben Shapiro: “[W]hat distinguishes [Bruce] Jenner from [Rachel] Dolezal? On what basis can we reject Dolezal’s blackness, given that the left has now redefined objective reality as self-definition? If you want to be a woman, you are a woman. If you want to be black, why can’t you be black? … By the left’s standards, Rachel Dolezal is black. She can choose her race, just as Bruce Jenner can choose his sex. And she didn’t choose. She always felt that way. After all, no one would choose to be black, just as no one would choose to be gay — blacks are so put upon in American society that no one would fake being black for, say, the benefits of employment or mainstream leftist celebration. Perhaps we can all learn from Rachel Dolezal: Race doesn’t matter. Except that it does for people like Rachel Dolezal, which is why she went black. Rachel Dolezal is a poster child for the deconstructionist, victim-manufacturing left. But now she’s learning: Once you go black, the left will make you go back.”

SHORT CUTS

Insight: “If it was necessary to tolerate in other people everything that one permits oneself, life would be unbearable.” —French novelist Georges Courteline (1858-1929)

Upright: “[Rachel Dolezal] actually said when explaining her deceptions, her lies, her constructions, her inventions, her delusions, ‘I hope that [my story] can drive at the core of the definitions of race, ethnicity, culture, self-determination, and ultimately empowerment.’ Is there a cliché from the marxist lexicon of identity politics that she has not used? … This is oppression envy. I can’t quite figure out if this is psychopathological deception on her part, or has she actually shifted over into delusion?” —Charles Krauthammer

The BIG Lie: “I’ll be honest with you. With all the crises we were dealing with … [technology and IT] did not get the kind of laser-focused attention until Healthcare.gov, which was a well-documented disaster, but ended up anyways being the catalyst for us saying, ‘Okay, we have to completely revamp how we do things.’ The results there were so outstanding.” —Barack Obama

Non Compos Mentis: “The records of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, of cleaning up the messes they inherited, is something that speaks to Democratic values. Both my husband and President Obama created more opportunity coming from a lower base, because they believe, fundamentally, that real and lasting prosperity must be built by all and shared by all.” —Hillary Clinton

Village Idiots: “We are rolling out major policy proposals over the summer/fall. Among those proposals will be revenue enhancements.” —Hillary Clinton’s press secretary Brian Fallon (“Of course, ‘revenue enhancements’ is code for tax hikes. During the Bill Clinton administration, another code word for this was ‘broad-based contributions.’” —Washington Examiner’s Jason Russell)

Braying Jackass: “The Supreme Court shouldn’t have taken up [ObamaCare]. … I think the language is clear. I hope the Supreme Court can read English.” —Harry Reid

Late-night humor: “It was a beautiful weekend in New York. This is how nice the weather was: I went outside without sunscreen for about an hour, and I was elected to run the Spokane NAACP.” —Seth Meyers

-Fox News

Clinton Camp Blocks Daily Mail Reporter From NH Events
(nicedeb.wordpress.com) ~ A Daily Mail reporter with an eye for Clinton campaign plants was persona non-grata at some campaign events in New Hampshire, Monday... David Martosko broke a story back in April exposing an “unscripted” Clinton campaign event in Iowa that turned out to be heavily choreographed with Democrat activists. Driving through New Hampshire in the rain without knowing where you’re headed is an unnerving experience, but that’s where I found myself this morning after Hilly Clinton’s staff said I wouldn’t be allowed to do my job reporting on her campaign.

 LEFTISTS' OPEN SEASON ON CHRISTIANS
(David Limbaugh) ~ If you doubt that Christians are fair game for ridicule by the cultural left, take a look at the hit piece on Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia by Jeffrey Tayler for Salon... I can’t decide which is worse, the title or the subtitle. The title: “Antonin Scalia is unfit to serve: A justice who rejects science and the law for religion is of unsound mind.” The subtitle: “The justice claims to be an originalist, but his real loyalty is to religion and a phony man in the sky.” The writer is trying to be cute, but don’t conclude that any part of his thesis is intended to be tongue-in-cheek. He opens by telling us that “faith-derangement syndrome” has now infected the Supreme Court as it has the executive branch.       http://www.wnd.com/2015/06/leftists-open-season-on-christians/

CLINTONS 'COULD ENRON MAJOR ACCOUNTING FIRM'
(Jerome R. Corsi) ~ A respected Wall Street analyst who has been investigating the Clinton Foundation’s finances alleges the “Big Four” accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers was a willing participant in a scheme by the Clintons and their associates to become personally enriched by the foundation, a crime known as inurement... Charles Ortel, a frequent guest on Bloomberg television and a contributor to the Washington Times and others, says in a draft report that he found “the PWC accounting work product for 2013 is riddled with uncorrected errors and falsehoods” as well as procedural defects so severe he has raised the possibility “the Clinton Foundation might be PWC’s Enron.” PricewaterhouseCoopers has not replied to numerous requests from WND, by email and by telephone, to comment. Ortel also asked PWC a number of questions based on his investigation and has received no reply.       http://www.wnd.com/2015/06/clintons-could-enron-major-accounting-firm/

Congressman Slams nObama's Syrian Refugee Program
(Leo Hohmann) ~ A Texas congressman who chairs the House Homeland Security Committee is calling on President nObama to abandon his plan to resettle thousands of Syrians displaced by that country’s civil war, saying the plan is “very dangerous” for America’s security... The problem is that ISIS has already said it will infiltrate the ranks of the refugees being sent by the United Nations to various Western countries, said Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas. McCaul wrote a letter to President nObama Thursday expressing concerns over the administration’s announced plans to resettle some 2,000 Syrian refugees in the United States this year. Another 10,000 to 11,000 are in the U.N. pipeline destined for America. http://www.wnd.com/2015/06/congressman-slams-obamas-syrian-refugee-program/

The Most Inexcusable Crime in the Muslim World
(Uzay Bulut) ~ Violence and intolerance envelop the Muslim world. People who commit barbaric acts -- slaughtering Christians, Jews, Muslims and Hindus, almost anyone -- say they are merely upholding Islamic sharia law against "blasphemy," apostasy and "unbelievers."... These Islamic extremists daily take those laws in their own hands, murdering anyone who wants to think freely or differently. Every day, arrests, trials, floggings, torture and the murder of journalists, poets, students and human rights activists are a routine practice. In 2013, a Pakistani Professor of English, Junaid Hafeez, was arrested and jailed on blasphemy charges after a student affiliated with the Jamaat-i-Islami party accused him of insulting Muhammad, the founder of Islam, on Facebook. His original lawyer, Chaudhry Mudassar, left the case in June 2013 after facing a multitude of death threats. His second lawyer, Rashid Rehman, was shot dead in his office in front of his colleagues on May 7, 2014. His current lawyer, Shahbaz Gurmani, has received death threats, including guns fired outside his house, and a letter from the Islamic State (ISIS), warning him against pursuing the case, and stating that he will be beheaded unless he stops. Junaid Hafeez remains in jail.       http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/5966/crime-muslim-world

Sen. Corker Blasts nObama's "Breathtaking" Concessions To IRAN
(Jeff Dunetz) ~ Senator Bob Corker, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee sent the President a letter Monday that warned the administration is on a dangerous path toward a deal that would let Iran continue its nuclear program... that the President has caved on too many of his own goals for stopping Iran’s nuclear program, and said if Iran pushes for more concessions related to transparency, President nObama should  have the courage to "please pause and consider rethinking the entire approach." Corker is specifically worried by reports that nObama is about to make another concession, one that would allow Iran avoid having to admit having certain nuclear capabilities, and instead allowing the International Atomic Energy Agency made determinations about these capabilities without any confirmation from Iran. Corker said that if this concession has been offered, it would be a mistake. The senator said it was “breathtaking” to see how much ground Mr. nObama and his fellow negotiating partners have given to Iran in the talks.        http://yidwithlid.blogspot.com/2015/06/senator-corker-blasts-obamas.html?utm_source=The+Lid+List&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=eebd69b8d9-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_term=0_597b72c01c-eebd69b8d9-291705165&goal=0_597b72c01c-eebd69b8d9-291705165

Would the prez threaten to veto much-needed additional defense?
(Jim Talent) ~ A showdown is looming in Washington over the National Defense Authorization bill and the Appropriations bill for the Department of Defense. At stake is whether the Congress is able to make any progress this year on repairing the damage which defense cuts have done to the armed forces and the nation’s security... The Budget Control Act of 2011, also known as sequestration, had the effect of cutting a trillion dollars from the ten-year budget plan which secretary of defense Bob Gates recommended before he left office in 2011. Coming on the heels of a decade of hard fighting and chronic underfunding of the military’s capital accounts, the sequester is a disaster in progress. It has resulted in severe shortfalls in day-to-day readiness across the services, and if continued, will make it nearly impossible in the future to restore readiness, maintain personnel end strength at an adequate level, or recapitalize the armed forces. The sequester is particularly irresponsible given the growing threats around the world and the Chinese military buildup; for that reason, the sequester was unanimously condemned by the National Defense Panel in its report last year.       http://www.aei.org/publication/why-would-the-president-threaten-to-veto-much-needed-additional-defense-funds/?utm_source=paramount&utm_medium=email&utm_content=AEITODAY&utm_campaign=061615

Why Do People Become Islamic Extremists?   (Bradford Thomas) ~ In a new Prager University video, Haroon Ullah, a senior State Department advisor and field researcher in South Asia and the Middle East, debunks the two most prominent explanations for why people are susceptible to terrorism: poverty and ignorance... Though the left continually points to lack of resources and education as the central cause of the rise of Islamic terrorism in the Middle East, Ullah said after living in Pakistan he found those two rationales to be demonstrably false. In Pakistan, he explains, he found "something much different than I expected. Poverty had little to do with who became an extremist; lack of education even less." He found, instead, that many terrorists come from middle class families and have college educations. The draw to radicalism was not one of economic desperation or susceptibility due to a lack of education, it was a longing "for meaning and for order," a desire for "change" in "the old corrupt order," and a sense of "victimhood":       http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/middle-east-expert-debunks-poverty-and-ignorance-excuse-radicalism

Green Policies Kill Military Readiness and Vets
(Cliff Kincaid) ~ As the world waits for the pope’s climate change encyclical, new attention has been focused on how the nObama administration’s green energy policies are undermining U.S. military readiness and diverting resources from caring for America’s veterans... We reported recently that the nObama administration didn’t have time to develop a strategy to fight against global Islamic terrorism because it was too busy putting homosexuals into the Armed Forces and celebrating gay pride. In fact, there was something else on the agenda that nObama had ordered the military to handle that had assumed more importance than global terrorism—climate change. On May 20, in his remarks to the United States Coast Guard Academy commencement, nObama actually told the Coast Guard grads that “It is a dereliction of duty” for them to ignore this alleged problem.       http://www.aim.org/aim-column/green-policies-kill-military-readiness-and-vets/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email061615&utm_medium=email

Obama%2B-%2BNo%2BIdea%2BWhat%2BIm%2BDoing.png
.
(factsnotfantasy.blogspot.com) ~ The Wednesday, June 10 Wall Street Journal headline at the top of the page was “nObama Set to Expand Troops in Iraq.” We were 589 days into the two terms Barack Hussein nObama has served in the office of President of the United States and he is as clueless now as he was when he arrived on January 20, 2009.
.
“President Barack nObama is poised to send hundreds more American advisers to a new base in a strategic Iraqi region to help devise a counterattack against marauding Islamic State militants, U.S. officials said Tuesday, a shift that underscores American concern over recent battlefield losses.” It’s 450 “trainers.”
.
We have had losses because (1) nObama was elected on a promise to end the conflict in Iraq and (2) reelected by pulling out troops to the point that the remaining Iraqi troops—Shiites in the south—decided it wasn’t worth dying for their leaders. Can’t say I blame them, but dying at the hands of ninth century Islamic fanatics is the fate that threatens the entire Middle East, not just Iraq or what’s left of it.
.
This is how we lost the war in Vietnam. There was a time when Americans utterly destroyed their enemies on the battlefield. In the latter half of the last century, starting in Korea, we forgot how to do that and why that’s how wars are won.
.
In all candor, like a lot of Americans, I went back and forth about the Mideast conflicts. Looking back, I think George H.W. Bush showed remarkable insight when, after driving Iraq’s Saddam Hussein out of Kuwait, he stopped at the border and came home. George W. had the notion he could somehow introduce democracy to the region. He couldn’t and it will likely never really occur there because Islam is the only law and it has kept the region ignorant, backward, and under the thumb of tyrants for centuries.
.
The Islamic State troops must be stopped at some point, but nObama is not the President who will do it. Whatever U.S. backed combat occurs will be just enough to present enough television news images to convince the gullible that progress is being made.
.
nObama arrived in office without any strategy and has spent the last six and a half years “muddling through” as the British say. He and the Democratic Party had only one goal; to win the elections. After that, they wanted to “fundamentally transform” the greatest nation on planet Earth. They have largely made a mess out of everything they touched from nObamaCare to Common Core.
.
There’s a reason why nObama will send more troops and that’s because every one of our allies has told him that, if the U.S. does not again assert its role of global leadership, they are not going to cooperate with him in a thousand different ways.
.
Our allies in the Mideast have told him they lack the military strength (and will) to conduct any kind of war with ISIS. The U.S. and much of the rest of the world cannot afford to sit by and let the enormous oil wealth and reserves of the Mideast come under the control of ISIS.
.
So, once again we read headlines about U.S. troops returning to the Mideast.
.
What that means is that the 2016 elections are more critical to the future of the nation than all previous ones.
.
I think Americans, liberals, conservatives and independents alike have had more than enough of President No Strategy. I think there are enough older Americans who remember and take pride in a nation that was unabashedly the world’s leader in the pursuit of peace and democracy. And I think that the thirty percent or so of brain-dead liberals are not sufficient to affect the outcome of a 2016 election devoted to restoring the nation’s economy and leadership.
.
It can be done. John F. Kennedy was on his way to doing so. Reagan did so. In 590 days from now, we can begin to do so again.

UK college student who made sign “Islam Will Dominate the World” faces jail for trying to join the Islamic State

How many more young men like him are in Sharia Britannia? I know, I know: it’s “Islamophobic” and “bigoted” to ask. UK Death Watch Update: “College student faces jail for trying to run off to join Isil,” by Tom Whitehead, Telegraph, June 17, 2015 (thanks to Anne Crockett): A college student who made a poster […]

Munther Omar Saleh

Muslim student arrested for Islamic State NYC jihad mass murder plot

Saleh “denied sympathizing with Islamic State and granted them permission to examine his computer, authorities said. Investigators found the computer contained Islamic State propaganda, according to court filings.” War is deceit, as Muhammad said. In any case, the glib dismissal by Western authorities of the Islamic State as having nothing to do with Islam fails […]

UK Muslim family believed to have fled to Syria very devout, held Qur’an classes

This is a strange story. The husbands have appealed to their wives to come home, but the wives and children appear to be headed for the Islamic State. They were known for their devoutness in Islam while in Britain, holding Qur’an classes and spreading Islamic material on the Internet — not that this has anything […]

“The indictment indicates that Kareem took the shooters — Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi — to practice shooting and gave them assault rifles.” Clearly this was planned for a considerable time, and these jihad murderers are likely to have chosen a soft target. “Third Man Arrested in Garland ‘Draw Muhammad’ Shooting: Authorities,” by Todd L. Iran: Pastor “viciously beaten” in prison, told only way out is to deny Christ

Prison dawah, Islamic style. Now imagine if a Muslim imam were incarcerated in Greece, an Orthodox Christian nation, and Christian inmates were savagely beating him in order to force him to convert to Christianity. Wouldn’t the Western media take notice then? Pastor Saeed is one of the great Christian confessors of our time. His wife, Naghmeh […]

Kurdistan: A Summary

How strange it is that the American government continues to regard as a desideratum the survival of the state of Iraq. Why? People in Britain associate Muslims with terrorism because of Islamic terrorism, and not for any other reason, but predictably, the results of this survey are already being spun as the result of “Islamophobia.” Islamic Relief’s Jehangir Malik whined: “The results of this poll are extremely worrying because they show that public attitudes towards Muslims are […]

Islamic Jihad member arrested on suspicion of running over 3 Israelis

There has been a spate of such attacks in Jerusalem and elsewhere lately — and a billboard in Nazareth calling for them, but of course only AFDI billboards and advertisements are offensive. Free For All – U.N. Helps Distribute Controversial ID Cards – Illegal Aliens

Illegal aliens get free NYC resident ID cards with special privileges courtesy of Mayor Bill de Blasio. Some of the perks that they get are discounts on prescription drugs, free admission into NYC’s museums, and more. The disturbing part of all of this is that NYC cops must accept this as a legitimate ID from anyone who presents this card, because they are issued by the government. We all know that these cards can get into the hands of illegal aliens who are unscrupulous or have hard-core criminal records! There is also a very limited requirement of verification of who the person is that’s applying for a card. It’s pretty much a free for all. A spokesperson from Judicial Watch explains what this means and what could happen as a result. And of course, there’s the issue of voter ID fraud!

FIORINA SAYS SHE IS WHAT A FEMINIST LOOKS LIKE
The lone woman in the Republican field, Carly Fiorina, made waves in Washington with a speech that sought to redefine feminism. “A feminist is a woman who lives the life she chooses. … A woman may choose to have five children and home-school them. She may choose to become a CEO, or run for President,” said the presidential candidate at the Competitive Enterprise Institute.
Fiorina’s campaign platform has largely been based on her ability to take on Hilly Clinton woman to woman, but Thursday’s address fortified her platform withdetailed ideas. As a Republican and former CEO, Fiorina seeks to marry the party’s free-market principles with a friendlier dialogue about women’s issues asexemplified  by her discussion of how over-the-counter access to birth control would drive down prices without subsidies. Fiorina has a deep deficit in the polls though, with low name recognition, and many voters questioning whether a non-politician can hold the high office of president.
But she heads to friendly territory this weekend for former Massachusetts’s Gov. Mitt Romney’s E2 Summit in Utah where she will have the chance to stand out against her political counterparts with her business savvy. Gov. Scott Walker, R-Wisc., and Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., both plan to address the uber-rich congregation and Rubio might as well be a counselor at Camp Mitt. But don’t count out Fiorina yet, as unlike Rubio, her momentum seems to steadily rise.

 HUD's 'Housing Equality' Thud
Barack nObama's Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is set to release a rule aimed at fostering "diversity" in wealthy neighborhoods around the country. "HUD is working with communities across the country to fulfill the promise of equal opportunity for all," an agency spokeswoman said. "The proposed policy seeks to break down barriers to access to opportunity in communities supported by HUD funds." This diversity scheme has shades of the last time Democrats attempted to reconfigure banking to favor unqualified people. Promoters of the policy are suggesting it's fair because, if states and communities don't want to abide by nObama's decree, they can forgo the federal money they receive. That's a fair argument only if the people in those states can also choose to forgo paying taxes to the federal government. Of course, most of nObama's supporters pay no taxes. Political analyst Marc Thiessen said it best: "We as conservatives believe and diversifying communities too. The way you do that is through economic opportunity. It's not by building more affordable housing in affluent communities, it's by creating economic opportunities so that more Americans can afford housing in affluent communities. Right now the problem is that people at the bottom of the nObama economy can't get ahead." HUD's rule is nothing more than an nObama charade to ramp up class warfare and appease constituents who are enslaved on poverty plantations — the direct result of generations of failed Democrat economic policies.  -The Patriot Post

 Jihad on Churches
(Raymond Ibrahim) ~ On Sunday, March 15, as Christian churches around the world were celebrating morning mass, two churches in Pakistan — one Catholic, one Protestant — were attacked by Islamic suicide bombers. At least 17 people were killed and over 70 wounded... The Taliban claimed responsibility. It is believed that the group had hoped for much greater death tolls, as there were almost 2,000 people in both churches at the time of the explosions. According to eyewitnesses, two suicide bombers approached the gates of the two churches and tried to enter them. When they were stopped — in one church by a 15-year-old Christian youth who blocked them with his body — the Islamic jihadis self-detonated. Witnesses saw "body parts flying through the air." According to an official statement from the Justice and Peace Commission of the Episcopal Conference of Pakistan, despite all the threats received by the churches, authorities only provided "minimal" security.       http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/5912/jihad-on-churches

It's Time for Israel to Stop Neglecting Cyprus
(Gal Luft) ~ It may sometimes seem the world is increasingly antagonistic toward Israel, but Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades' visit to Jerusalem this week should remind Israelis that there are still allies to be found, even in the Middle East... One of them lies a mere 200 kilometers from the beaches of Haifa. For decades, Israel has neglected Cyprus, focusing its efforts on becoming more acceptable to its Arab neighbors, as well as to Turkey, Cyprus' archenemy. But these efforts have stalled in recent years. Relations with Turkey have soured, the peace with Jordan and Egypt is more or less frozen, and the peace process with the Palestinians is nonexistent. Among all of these, it is Cyprus, Israel's only non-majority-Muslim neighbor, that provides a glimmer of hope. With only 10 percent of Israel's population and 1 percent of Turkey's, the island may seem to be of little strategic importance, but recent geopolitical and economic developments have elevated its value for Israel and vice versa, creating the conditions for a renaissance in Israel-Cyprus relations.       http://www.meforum.org/5315/israel-cyprus

nObama admin prepares to cave in to another Khamenei red line
(Paul Wolfowitz) ~ Now, in an Associated Press story titled, “US finds peeling back the Iran sanctions onion no easy task,” officials are claiming that the administration “may have to backtrack on its promise that it will suspend only nuclear-related economic sanctions on Iran as part of an emerging nuclear agreement.”... This is because, in what they call the “briar patch of interwoven economic sanctions,” it is too hard to distinguish between “nuclear” sanctions and “non-nuclear” sanctions applied because of Iran’s support for terrorism, human rights violations, money laundering and ballistic missile development. According to the unnamed “officials,” the administration plans to redefine the term “nuclear sanctions,” giving it such a broad definition that there will be little left in the non-nuclear category. This is quite obviously absurd, but what seems to be going on is that the administration is preparing to yield to the Iranian demand that sanctions be lifted immediately — and this means all sanctions and not just nuclear ones. Agreeing to that would mean not only much more extensive sanctions relief — for example relief for banks that are believed to have laundered money for terrorists — but it would also make it extremely difficult to use sanctions as an instrument for constraining such activity by Iran in the future. This will only add to the considerable concerns of Iran’s neighbors that the agreement does nothing to address Iran’s non-nuclear activities.       http://www.aei.org/publication/obama-administration-prepares-to-cave-into-another-khamenei-red-line/?utm_source=paramount&utm_medium=email&utm_content=AEITODAY&utm_campaign=061515

HUGE NEWS: Barack nObama Caught in Crime “Of the Century”
(thepoliticalinsider.com) ~ President Barack nObama has shown his willingness to shred the Constitution and spy on American citizens. But he has been caught red handed in a major crime spree that I didn’t want to believe was possible... This report shows The White House not only knew about the CIA spying on the United States Senate, but they were behind the spying! This is incredible. At the time, CIA Director John Brennan had discussions with top White House Staff – including nObama’s Chief of Staff Denis McDonough – about an effort to scan hard drives of staffers used on the Senate Intelligence Committee. These staffers worked for Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), and they wanted the secret details of the investigation on interrogation techniques by the CIA. After becoming aware of the CIA’s snooping, Feinstein argued that the CIA had “likely violated the constitutional separation of powers,” according to The Huffington Post. The White House, not surprisingly, declined comment, implying that nObama’s Administration agrees and is either scrambling for a defense or simply has none.       http://www.thepoliticalinsider.com/huge-news-barack-obama-caught-in-crime-of-the-century/

 Occupy Wall Street Mainstreams Communism
(Matthew Vadum) ~ Though many have declared the Occupy Wall Street movement a failure, it won a major propaganda victory when it forced the phony political issue of “income inequality” into the national political debate, according to one of its leaders in a new article... The article, titled The Triumph of Occupy Wall Street, appears at the Atlantic, the home of radical leftists, market participants in the racial grievance industry, and mushy moderates. It was written by radical left-winger Michael Levitin, a co-founder of The Occupied Wall Street Journal, an OWS “affinity group.” (Its website had not been updated in 1,000 days at time of writing.) The article is a mixture of truth and bald-faced lies that slavishly defends a philosophy of failure and a movement that is based on Marxist lies, as David Horowitz and John Perazzo demonstrated in their pamphlet Occupy Wall Street:       http://www.frontpagemag.com/2015/matthew-vadum/occupy-wall-street-mainstreams-communism/?utm_source=FrontPage+Magazine&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=0dee2518db-Mailchimp_FrontPageMag&utm_term=0_57e32c1dad-0dee2518db-156509103

New Lerner Emails…Gives DUMBEST EXCUSE For Not Releasing
(Patrick Howley) ~ The Internal Revenue Service found 6,400 more Lois Lerner emails — but they’re not handing them over in court.  The IRS’ latest excuses are nothing short of infuriating... Department of Justice lawyers Geoffrey J. Klimas and Stephanie Sasarak, acting as counsel for the IRS, submitted a U.S. District Court filing June 12 in the case Judicial Watch v. Internal Revenue Service. The court filing, provided to The Daily Caller, claims the IRS received new Lerner emails from the Treasury Department’s inspector general (TIGTA) but can’t fork over the emails to Judicial Watch, a nonprofit group suing to get the emails. Why? Because the IRS is busy making sure that none of the emails are duplicates  – you know, so as not to waste anyone’s time.        http://dailycaller.com/2015/06/14/irs-finds-6400-new-lois-lerner-emails-gives-dumbest-excuse-yet-for-not-releasing-themhttps://sharylattkisson.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/S."105" />

Islamic State Gains Military Expertise From Ex-Soldiers
(Bill Gertz) ~ The recent defection to the Islamic State (IS) of a special operations colonel in Tajikistan and the group’s infiltration of the Malaysian military are raising new concerns that the Islamist terror group is gaining military expertise, according to U.S. officials and experts... Col. Gulmurod Khalimov, a commander of the Interior Ministry security unit known as OMON, disappeared in April and late last month surfaced in an IS video calling for jihad against Russia and the United States. Tajikistan is a former Soviet republic that is currently aligned with Russia. In Southeast Asia, authorities in Malaysia broke up an Islamic State terrorist plot in March that involved two Royal Malaysian Air Force soldiers. The arrests revealed the terrorist group has infiltrated the military and that around 70 Malaysian army personnel are believed to be supporters or sympathizers with the Islamic State, according to U.S. officials.       http://freebeacon.com/national-security/islamic-state-gains-military-expertise-from-ex-soldiers/

Clapper Acknowledges Omissions on Iran Threat
(Emma-Jo. Morris) ~ A senior administration official acknowledged to Senate Republicans that its 2015 intelligence threat assessment failed to provide the full scope of Iran’s state sponsored terrorism... Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said in a letter to the Senate that the 2015 worldwide threat assessment could have been more specific about the Iranian threat to United States’ interests. He emphasized that the omissions from a general report do not mean the intelligence community is ignoring that threat. “A specific reference to the terrorist threat from Iran and Hezbollah—which was not included in any of the drafts of the testimony—would have been appropriate for the 2015 assessment, but the lack of its inclusion is in no way a change in the IC’s assessment,” Clapper said in his June 3 letter.       http://freebeacon.com/national-security/clapper-acknowledges-omissions-on-iran-threat/

The Supreme Court Decision
on Jerusalem Lets nObama Ignore Reality
Jonathan Tobin
.
.
(jewishworldreview.com) ~ The problem with American Middle East policy during the nObama administration has always boiled down to one factor: the president and his foreign policy team prefer their fantasies about the way things should be to the cold hard reality of Palestinian rejectionism, Islamist terror, or Iran's ambitions for regional hegemony.
.
That hasn't worked out well for America or its allies, as the U.S. has suffered setback after setback with the collapse of revived peace negotiations that were doomed to fail, Hamas' hold on Gaza, Iran's growing power, and the rise of ISIS. But let it not be said that the president hasn't won any victories.
.
By siding with the administration in the case of Zivotofsky v. hanoi Kerry, the U.S. Supreme Court has upheld the executive branch's constitutional power to recognize foreign governments. In this instance, that meant allowing the president to declare that, contrary to an act of Congress as well as the facts on the ground, nObama is entitled to pretend that the city of Jerusalem isn't the capital of Israel or even part of the Jewish state.
.
This triumph may cause celebration in the White House as well as among Israel's foes. But it should also be put down as yet another win for fantasy over reality as well as one that won't further the cause of peace.
.
The case involved American citizens living in Israel who wanted the government to put down Jerusalem, Israel as their son's place of birth on his passport. Considering that this is where he was born and that U.S. law states that Jerusalem is part of Israel, there shouldn't be any problem with this request. But since, due to an awkward diplomatic dance it has been conducting since 1948, the U.S. has never recognized that Jerusalem is part of Israel, the consulate refused leading the Zivotofskys to sue and to take their case all the way to the Supreme Court.
.
The impact of this decision is outrageous, but it is easy to understand where the majority is coming from. The Constitution is clear that foreign policy is the prerogative of the executive branch, not Congress. One would wish the nObama administration might have equal respect for constitutional dictates that don't favor increasing its power, as it did here. But while the president feels free to ignore the Constitution when he wants to flout the will of Congress and legislate on his own by granting amnesty to millions of aliens, he is happy to hide behind the Constitution when it comes to upholding the longstanding denial that Jerusalem is Israel.
.
As Chief Justice Roberts and Justices Alito and Scalia stated in their sensible dissent in the case, it's not quite as simple as that. This area of law is, as even Justice Anthony Kennedy admitted in the majority opinion, not well defined because the body of case law is meager.
.
In the past, the legislative and the executive branches have largely settled any disputes without the judiciary having to intervene as the referee. But while the Constitutional principle that the president has the right to make foreign policy must be respected, the notion that he may ignore U.S. law when doing so is not well established. Just as President Reagan did not have the right to fund the Nicaragua contras during the period when Congress forbade it, it can be argued with equal force that once a law was passed and signed (though President George W. Bush said he wouldn't enforce it) that stated the U.S. recognized that Jerusalem was part of Israel, the executive did not have the ability to go on denying it.
.
As with immigration, President nObama wants to have his cake and eat it too and a 6-3 majority in Zivoftosky appears happy to let him have it.
.
But let's, at least for a moment, leave the legal technicalities of this subject to the lawyers and comment instead on what this means for U.S. foreign policy.
.
The administration thinks being upheld on this point is good for America because it allows it to continue maintaining the fiction that Jerusalem isn't part of Israel.
.
The bizarre refusal of the U.S. to formally acknowledge that even West Jerusalem — that section that has always been part of Israel since May 1948 — is part of the Jewish state also makes peace less likely.
.
The administration or any of its predecessors could have simply moved the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem even if they insisted that the eastern part was not part of Israel. But they have all refused, making it even more difficult for Palestinians to recognize Israel's legitimacy.
.
Reversing that stand would be unpopular in the Arab and Muslim world. This fiction enables the Palestinians to go on insisting that Israel give up the portions of the city that were illegally occupied by Jordan between 1948-1967.
.
The presumption is that once peace is achieved between Israel and the Palestinians, including, at least according to President nObama, a re-partition of the city, the U.S. might have a more realistic policy about Jerusalem.
.
What's wrong with that seemingly position is that so long as the U.S. is encouraging the Palestinians to think they can have all of that portion of Israel's capital as part of that state — including mostly 40-year-old neighborhoods where hundreds of thousands of Jews live — they'll never come to terms with the fact that they are going to have to accept a compromise and leave those people in place and allow the city to remain united.
.
If that wasn't bad enough, nObama, more than any other president since 1967 has encouraged this delusion by treating these Jewish neighborhoods as being as offensive to him, and the Jews who live there as just as liable to be thrown out of their homes as the most remote West Bank settlement. That broke new and even more dangerous ground on the issue and made a resolution on Jerusalem even less likely to happen in the foreseeable future.
.
nObama can celebrate the court's dubious endorsement of his power to deny reality in Jerusalem, but no one should be under the impression that this is good for peace.
.
All the Supreme Court decision on Jerusalem has done is to reinforce the president's worst instincts that reflexively always cause him to prefer his fantasies about Jerusalem and the rest of the region to reality and common sense.

THE FOUNDATION

“[Emigrants] will bring with them the principles of the governments they leave, imbibed in their early youth; or, if able to throw off, it will be in exchange for an unbounded licentiousness, passing, as is usual, from one extreme to another. It would be a miracle were they to stop precisely at the point of temperate liberty.” — Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia, 1781

121 Illegal Immigrants Released by ICE Became Murderers

Regardless of how Democrat sympathizers see it, illegally crossing the U.S. border is a crime, but that’s not preventing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from letting unauthorized immigrants back onto the streets — including some who went on to become murderers. According to The Washington Times, “More than 100 immigrants whom the Obama administration released back into the community went on to be charged with subsequent killings, according to government data released Monday that raises more questions about whether immigration authorities are doing enough to detail illegal immigrants awaiting deportation. … All told, 121 immigrants who were held but eventually released by ICE went on to commit ‘homicide-related offenses’ from 2010 through 2014, the agency said.” Those are only known offenders, though, meaning the actual figure is probably even more alarming. ICE said in a statement, “When making custody determinations, ICE performs an individualized review of the individual’s immigration history and criminal history, pursuant to the Immigration and Naturalization Act (INA). In accordance with the requirements of the INA, not all criminals are subject to mandatory detention and thus may be eligible for bond.” And, thus, eligible to take other people’s lives. America’s lax immigration policies aren’t just ridiculous; they’re proving to be deadly. More…

ATF Teams Up With NYPD to Deter ‘Gun Crimes’

In what CBS New York describes as the “first-ever anti-gun initiative,” federal agencies in collaboration with the NYPD are cracking down on escalating “gun crime” across the City of New York. ATF agent Charles Mulham said, “There’s going to be an increase in federal arrests — no doubt.” He added, “Of course, when the ATF gets involved … we’ll be able to figure out if [any] weapon is part of an interstate trafficking operation.” That’s a bold statement coming from an agency that intentionally put weapons into the hands of Mexican drug cartels. And considering New York boasts lower than average crime rates, why aren’t they asking why violent behavior is increasing instead of positing this as an “anti-gun” initiative? For the same reason the question is being avoided in cities like Ferguson and Baltimore. As Mark Alexander has pointed out, blaming weapons serves an agenda: “The ‘gun violence’ rhetoric comports with the errant Leftist assertion that guns are the problem and the Democrats' next gun control measure is the solution. Most assuredly, the epidemic of crime in American urban centers is not a ‘gun problem,’ but rather a cultural problem.” Getting the federal government involved in New York, ostensibly to ward off potential offenders, won’t get us any closer to tackling the core problem — especially via an agency embroiled in its own questionable behavior. More…

Killing Al-Qaida Terrorists Is Good, But…

The Obama administration continues to play whack-a-mole with terrorists in the Middle East, using American aircraft as the gavel. Over the weekend, al-Qaida in Yemen confirmed that its number two leader, Nasir al-Wahishi, was killed in a U.S. airstrike. This is the biggest blow against the terrorist group since SEAL Team Six drilled Osama bin Laden in his Abbottabad compound. Meanwhile, U.S. planes dropped 500 lb. munitions in Libya, possibly killing Mokhtar Belmokhtar, “the one-eyed sheik” who split from al-Qaida to form his own terrorist outfit. The implications are that we have some decent intelligence. The strikes are good news, but it’s not a game changer but rather a place-holder by the administration, which has no coherent or comprehensive policy in the region. Obama’s objective is to pass this buck to the next administration. For that reason, GOP candidates better get the history of OIF and OEF right, because, if the next president is a Republican, he is going to have to implement a policy to contain and diminish this metastasizing threat.

Jeb Bush Enters Race Wooing Latinos, Furthering Dynasty

By Robin Smith

2015-06-16-9755734e_large.jpg

After a six-month “exploratory” window that served as the acceleration ramp up to his real campaign, Jeb Bush — the brother of President George W. Bush — formalized his candidacy for president June 15.

“I have decided,” Bush told a crowd at a community college in Miami, “I am a candidate for President of the United States.”

In his campaign, Bush brings a strong Catholic faith, a credible voice in the Latino community in Florida and the baggage that comes when your brother and father both served as commanders in chief.

Jeb indirectly acknowledged that some conservatives believe he is the “establishment pick” by noting, “It’s nobody’s turn, it’s everybody’s test, and it’s wide open — exactly as a contest for president should be.”

Bush’s candidacy was inevitable. As former governor of Florida, the third most populous state in the U.S., “Jeb!” showed off his gift of policy over politics in a rich vein of electoral votes. In the GOP tribe, however, this inevitability is not without its concerns — the Bush name has been gleefully lambasted by the presstitutes. The liberal media loves to invoke partisan animosity toward previous Bush presidencies, diverting scrutiny from controversies involving Barack Obama and his robotic, scandal-ridden heir apparent — Hillary Clinton.

The Jeb Bush campaign will certainly have plenty of funding. That guarantees a mass-marketed, micro-targeted message integrated across all platforms of media designed to reach a vast range of voters. But his key trait — widespread recognition of his family name — might be a liability among many Republicans and virtually all Democrats, thanks to the negatives of Bush 41 and 43.

But he isn’t just another clone of his brother. Jeb Bush is considered by some as a prominent member of the Latino community. Fellow presidential contender Marco Rubio considers Bush a mentor. Fluent in Spanish, Bush decided to reach out directly to Spanish-speaking constituents in his speech. “Ayúdenos en tener una campaña que les da la bienvenida,” he said, a phrase that’s translated to mean, “Help us to have a campaign that welcomes them.”

According to every poll conducted thus far, the GOP presidential primary is wide open. No frontrunner has emerged to doggedly prevent another Clinton White House. The sheer size of the pool of GOP candidates gives the Democrats a whole lot of cover behind which to hide their lack of effective policies, opposed to the authentic race and political choices found in the GOP presidential primary.

For Bush, the bar is extremely high. His successful tenure as governor in Florida displays his talent for leadership. The crucial task of Jeb and his campaign team will be to remind GOP voters of his effective conservative policies implemented during his time as Florida’s top elected official. These victories include a few issues that are inarguably crowd-pleasers for the Right, even the far-Right:

  • Passed parental school choice and rigorous school reform that raised the reading level of fourth graders by 11 points
  • Enacted tax cuts that totaled $19 billion with an actual reduction in the size of his state’s government by 6.6%
  • Supported parental notification of abortions requested by minors
  • Pushed through Medicaid reforms with private insurance solutions emphasizing personal health and accountability
  • Ended civil service protections of long-time unelected state bureaucrats and eliminated racial preferences in state-government contracting
  • Signed the nation’s first “Stand Your Ground” law
  • Called five special sessions of the legislature to pass medical liability and trial lawyer reforms to eradicate jackpot justice in Florida

Yet to win the eventual party nomination, Bush must explain his post-gubernatorial stances on a few hot-button topics. First, he backs immigration reform that emphasizes assimilation through access to services, not by enforcing existing law and prioritizing a secure border. He has also been a vocal proponent of Common Core, a set of educational standards originally written by our nation’s governors but soon sullied by the federal government, which established massive testing requirements and strings attached for funding access.

Jeb also must consider a few factors about the composition of the GOP that he’s not seen as a candidate before: In his last election, Bush did not face the Tea Party.

But as Politico writes, “Jeb’s stances on immigration and Common Core distance him from the GOP base, but his Catholic faith brings him back into the flock.”

While the Left is arguing that Religious Liberty is a limited right, one that should be eroded for holier rights such as same-sex marriage or abortion, Bush believes the opposite.

“The most galling example is the shabby treatment of the Little Sisters of the Poor, a Christian charity that dared to voice objections of conscience to Obamacare,” Bush said. “The next president needs to make it clear that great charities like the Little Sisters of the Poor need no federal instruction in doing the right thing. It comes down to a choice between the Little Sisters and Big Brother, and I’m going with the Sisters.”

Governor Bush’s early message and targeted contrasts could make him a heavyweight in the Republican primary, and his name recognition and depth of resources are advantages in the crowded field. Only time will reveal whether we’ll find ourselves rallying to unite against the Left with a nominee declaring, “Third time’s a charm.”

OPINION IN BRIEF

Cal Thomas: “It doesn’t take a spy novelist to come up with a scenario in which a Chinese government agent approaches someone with a top security clearance and threatens to expose a dark secret in his or her past, possibly destroying family and career, unless he or she cooperates and hands over information to Beijing. The Chinese agent would likely have details about medications his target is taking to ward off depression, or some other malady, possibly making him more vulnerable to pressure. The former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Mike Rogers, says another possible use of the hacked information could be to shape fake emails crafted to look legitimate while injecting spyware and other viruses on the networks of government agencies or businesses the Chinese wish to penetrate. … If any humor can come from a serious situation, it was in a statement by OPM spokesman, Samuel Schumach. When asked to provide more details on the damage caused by the hacking, Schumach said: ‘For security reasons, we will not discuss specifics of the information that might have been compromised.’ What possible ‘security’ reasons could there be when clearly there was insufficient security at OPM? Perhaps reporters should ask this of the Chinese, since they now appear to be in possession of all the pertinent information.”

SHORT CUTS

Insight: “[T]he human mind is seldom at stay: If you do not grow better, you will most undoubtedly grow worse.” —English writer Samuel Richardson (1689-1761)

Upright: This country and the left has made it profitable to become a victim of something — primarily a victim of an evil, faceless majority. If you become a member of a minority are automatically a victim, and the victim gets goodies. … The victim gets excused for all kinds of aberrant, weirdo behavior and instead is the recipient of sympathy. So it’s clear that this is a purposeful and studied move that [Rachel Dolezal] made.“ —Rush Limbaugh

Friendly fire, part I: "The question is for all politicians, including [Hillary Clinton] today, when you live in a bubble of privilege, surrounded by and marinating in the worldview of elites, business elites, rich donors, can you really connect with the policy concerns of people outside of the bubble?” —New York Times' Nicholas Confessore

Friendly fire, part II: “The Hillary of a year ago was for the trade deal. The Hillary of Saturday’s announcement was against the trade deal. We’ll have to see what Hillary she is when the trade deal comes up for the next vote. I mean that’s the reality of it, right? This is just political positioning.” —Slate’s Jacob Weisberg

Friendly fire, part III: “[Hillary] has not been consistently saying anything for 30 years. … [A]t some point there has got to be an acknowledgment that there hasn’t been a straight line between [her youth and political career].” —New Republic senior editor Rebecca Traister

Friendly fire, part IV: “Let’s be blunt, the Obama-Clinton foreign policy is not something to brag about, I would argue. The growth of ISIS, the failures in Iraq.” —NBC’s Perry Bacon

And last… “A new report shows that the federal government paid almost $10 million in medicaid benefits to 200 dead people. It really helped, though. Afterwards, most of them were spry enough to vote in Chicago.” —Fred Thompson

SORRY, NO SCOOBY DOO-OVER FOR HILLY
It’s not America’s fault that Hilly Clinton decided to launch her campaign on a security camera in a Chipotle in Ohio. So why should she be entitled to subject the country to her do-over?
Dogged by scandal, Clinton opted to launch her second presidential campaign from behind the tinted windows of a Secret Service van. And for two months she has persisted with a bubble wrapped, phony campaign.
Now, much of political press is giving her lavish coverage for the kind of kickoff event that normal presidential candidates hold. But at the same time we are strenuously warned that nothing of substance will be discussed.
The big scoop, reported in some embarrassingly gushy tones, is that Clinton will re-frame her candidacy as an homage to her mother’s struggles. But even that is not new. When Clinton was trying to stave off defeat in Iowa’s 2008 caucuses, she deployed the exact message that will be the theme of her re-re-launch. Seen as out of touch and entitled by voters, Clinton put her mother in a TV ad. The only difference now is that Clinton is able to add the word “grandmother” to the script.
Covering as major news something a candidate has done before and said before is pretty small beer. Covering it thusly when the candidate is shutting down the press and ducking relevant questions about her own conduct as well as the issues of the day is pure malpractice.
Do you remember that brief period of time in which reporters were acting uppity about how the Clinton campaign was abusing them and how the candidate was hiding from very real controversies? Well that was like so three weeks ago. The ADD political press has tired of the whole accountability thing and is totes ready to cover a non-existent horse race.
On WednesdayBill Clinton felt so confident in the forgetfulness of the press that he told Bloomberg: “Has anybody proved that we did anything objectionable? No.” While it may be true that no one has proven the Clintons have done anything illegal, “objectionable” would be a pretty charitable term for people who hid donations and personal income from unsavory sources and who destroyed more than 30,000 emails on a secret server inappropriately used during government work.
Since the 1970s, running for president in the United States has meant one thing: filing with the Federal Elections Commission declare your candidacy.
Clinton made her official filing on or about April 12. Despite her story about coming to the final decision on a visit to Oscar de la Renta’s beachfront villa in December, she has, practically speaking, never stopped running for president since the moment after her 2000 election. So what’s the point of Saturday’s event? Proving that she really, really wants to be president? We’ve got that part.  -Fox News

 DEMS HASSLE HILLY OVER TRADE
A razor-thin result excepted, today’s critical House votes on trade authority – it’s complicated – brings to a crescendo weeks long arm-twisting by proponents and opponents alike (go to FoxNews.com/Politics for the latest). While the battle has made for unlikely alliances and brought the kettle to a boil on both the left and the right, the lasting political heat is falling on the Democrats. Whether or not President nObama walks away with a victory, a deafening silence on the issue from the party’s de facto leader, Hilly Clinton, continues to frustrate her base. Clinton received a double-barrel blast Thursday with rival Bernie Sanders exhorting "If she’s against this, we need her to speak out. Right now. Right now,” and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio dangling his endorsement of the Democratic frontrunner on a “very clear statement” of opposition.  Clinton’s evasion will doubtless continue as she waits to see which way the winds blows post-vote.

WITH YOUR SECOND CUP OF COFFEE  Bernard Cigrand had humble beginnings in Waubeka, Wisc. As a young man, he held numerous jobs to pay for his education, including selling scrap metal, and working on a steam barge before he could afford to go off to dental school. Cigrand was named a contributing editor of the Encyclopedia Americana the same year he got his dental degree. It was for the encyclopedia that he began writing about his love of the American Flag, and eventually proposed a national holidaycommemorating the flag adopted by the Continental Congress on June, 14, 1777. The message took hold in his local school district, and they began hosting observances the third Sunday of June. The movement grew, but sadly Cigrand would not see his holiday made official. He died of a heart attack in 1932, and it was not until 1949 that President Harry Truman signed the legislation. This Sunday’s Flag Day remember not only the commemoration of a flag, but the man who made it so.   -Fox News

 IOWA STRAW POLL KAPUT
Des Moines Register: “The Iowa Straw Poll is dead. The governing board for the Republican Party of Iowa voted unanimously to cancel the straw poll, a milestone on the path to the White House that had passed the strategic tipping point. It was no longer a political risk for presidential campaigns to walk away from the straw poll, and too many of the 2016 contenders had opted to skip it for it to survive…Back in January, the Iowa GOP board unanimously to proceed with the event, a daylong political festival meant to showcase the party’s presidential candidates and to bring Iowa Republicans together for food, music and field-winnowing…The decision comes as the party fundraiser appeared to be on the verge of falling flat because so many presidential contenders were steering clear of it. Some candidates had said they might show up to give a speech, but wouldn’t spend money trying to win the straw poll. That meant the fundraiser would likely have struggled to break even, much less garnered hundreds of thousands for the party as it has in the past.”

Declassified CIA memo shows Bill Clinton crippled anti-terrorism
(Thomas Lifson) ~ In a classic Friday-afternoon document dump, a CIA memo written by then-agency head George Tenet in 2005 has been released, incriminating the Bill Clinton administration in crippling anti-terror efforts... Stephen Dinan of the Washington Times writes: The Clinton administration had bankrupted the intelligence community and refused to let the CIA prioritize anti-terrorism over other major priorities in the late 1990s, leaving the agency stretched too thin in the days ahead of the 2001 terrorist attacks, former Director George J. Tenet said in a 2005 document declassified Friday. Mr. Tenet, who was head of the agency at the time of the Sept. 11 attacks and has taken severe criticism for not anticipating and heading them off, said in the document that he took the threat of Osama bin Laden very seriously, and put major effort into trying to penetrate al-Qaeda, beginning as far back as 1998.       http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2015/06/declassified_cia_memo_shows_bill_clinton_crippled_antiterrorism_efforts_in_leadup_to_911.html

Never Again? The ISIS Genocide of Yazidis
(Stephen Schwartz & Christopher Bilardi) ~ Until the tragedy that came early in August 2014, the people who call themselves the Dâseni were little known to Westerners. These are the Yezidis, who mainly live in Iraq. Reviled as "devil worshippers" for centuries by their Muslim and Christian neighbors... they have endured 72 attempted genocides since 630 CE. After the predations of the "Islamic State" that number has increased to 74. A Kurdish people in ethnicity, the Yezidis practice a distinctive religion that is neither Christian nor Muslim. Tradition states that it is one of the oldest in the world, and that they have been a presence in Mesopotamia "for more than 6,700 years." During that long span of time Yezidism has incorporated elements of other faiths: Christian, Jewish, Muslim (Sufism), Zoroastrian, and Mandaean Gnostic. Like Hindus, the Yezidis have a caste system. Their tradition is hereditary and does not allow converts.       http://www.meforum.org/5313/yezidi-genocide

GOP LEADERSHIP’S LATEST nOBAMATRADE PLOY REVEALED
(Alex Swoyer) ~ Establishment Republicans desperately trying to secure the passage of Trade Promotion Authority (TPA), which would give President nObama fast-track authority to secure congressional approval of at least three secretive trade deals... are now willing to increase taxes on small businesses in a way that would violate a pledge almost every Republican Congressman has taken when elected into office. To secure final passage through Congress of a package that would include TPA fast-track authority—which would ensure finalization of the secretive Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (T-TIP) and Trade in Services Agreement (TiSA), among other deals—the House would need to pass the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) package that was necessary for Senate passage of TPA. The House voted TAA down 302-126 with widespread bipartisan opposition to last week, but House Ways and Means Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) and his allies in House GOP leadership have pledged that they will try to pass it again early next week. The vote would potentially be on Monday, but more likely on Tuesday—and if there is no vote by Tuesday, it’s unlikely that Ryan will be able to succeed in his ploy to revive TPA.        http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/06/14/gop-leaderships-latest-obamatrade-ploy-revealed-small-business-tax-hike-that-violates-gops-anti-tax-pledge/

nObama Admin Subjects Millions of Americans to Cyber Hackers
(Roger Aronoff) ~ It is an outrageous and unacceptable breach of trust. The federal government, through the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), interviews everyone who requires any sort of security clearance... and asks the most detailed and personal questions about past associations, indiscretions and behavior, to make sure nothing in their past could subject them to blackmail or subversion. The interviews extend to friends and associates of those being vetted, and those people are also in the databases that have been breached. But now it has come to light that OPM failed to hold up the nObama administration’s end of the bargain by not doing everything they could to protect those records. The nObama administration initially downplayed the cyber hack of the OPM, which centrally manages records for current and former federal employees. It did so even though it had missed the hack for at least four months, if not more, until a company, CyTech Services, which was conducting a sales demonstration, found malware in OPM’s system that could have been there for a year or more.       http://www.aim.org/aim-column/obama-administration-incompetence-subjects-millions-of-americans-to-cyber-hackers/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email061515&utm_medium=email

Pathetic: nObama Thinks THIS Will Save Iraq? He’s Dead Wrong…
(Lt. Col. (Retired) Allen West) ~ There are two words everyone who has served or is serving in the military does not want to hear: mission creep. It has been the deadly episode in the history of military operations throughout time... It is the piecemeal commitment of forces into a nebulous endeavor with no clear guidance or intent – basically no strategy. And those who commit warriors into the cauldron of uncertainty are doing solely to maintain a weak facade of taking action. And so it is, just days after Commander-in-Chief nObama announced to the world ten months after first stating he did not have a strategy to combat ISIS, that he STILL doesn’t have a strategy, the White House announces it will send another 450 troops into Iraq as trainers. No clear guidance was issued other than an intent to train more Iraqi troops. Sadly, we now have a little over 3,400 “trainers” in Iraq and only 2,598 Iraqi Soldiers in training. Of that number there are 800 Kurds and 1798 Shia, and no Sunnis are being trained. Do y’all see the laughable irony? We have more “trainers” in Iraq than those being trained.       http://www.aim.org/guest-column/pathetic-obama-thinks-this-will-save-iraq-hes-dead-wrong/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email061515&utm_medium=email

The Navy Chaplain Fighting for His Faith
(fixthisnation.com) ~ Any sensible observer might wonder why a Christian Navy Chaplain would be facing discharge after using his faith to guide him in giving council. But while it’s not certain yet what punishment awaits Wes Modder, it is readily apparent that it is a new day in the military... Modder has been accused of being “unable to function in a pluralistic and diverse Navy” by those who have a problem with the way he does his job. At issue (as if there was any doubt)? Da gays. Modder told Fox and Friends this week that his gay administrative assistant was not happy about his views on same-sex marriage or relationships. This assistant filed a five-page complaint against him for failing to show “tolerance and respect” when dispensing advice. He claims that the most he is guilty of is adhering to his faith. “He did exactly what chaplains are supposed to do, which is minister to people and answer questions and one-on-one counseling of what the Bible says, of what their faith says,” his lawyer said.       http://www.fixthisnation.com/conservative-breaking-news/the-navy-chaplain-fighting-for-his-faith/

Outsourcing Clinton Allies Accused of Abusing Visa System
(Bill McMorris) ~ The Department of Labor is investigating two outsourcing giants with ties to the Clinton Foundation for illegally supplanting American workers with cheap foreign labor... The Department of Labor announced on Thursday it was investigating Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys for allegedly forcing American IT workers to train foreign workers before being laid off. Some of those employees allege that their employers replaced them with the immigrants who were in the country on temporary visas. The Labor Department is investigating whether or not the companies abused the H-1B program, which grants temporary visas to fill highly-skilled jobs that employers claim are not adequately filled by American workers. The law requires that companies take “good faith steps to recruit U.S. workers” and “has not displaced a U.S. worker at the time of filing an H-1B visa petition,” according to the department. The investigation was announced on Thursday by a bipartisan group of senators.       http://freebeacon.com/politics/outsourcing-clinton-allies-accused-of-abusing-visa-system/

 Islamic State Sympathizers Attack Israel
(Emma-Jo Morris) ~ Rocket fire out of the Gaza Strip into Israel resumed this week as militants supportive of the Islamic State terrorist group attacked the Jewish state, according to the Associated Press... “Recent attacks have been claimed by Gaza militants who support the Islamic State group fighting in Iraq and Syria,” the AP reported. Israeli policy holds Hamas responsible for any aggression that comes out of Gaza.  The Silencing and Censorship of Opinions
(sharylattkisson.com) ~ I recently had the pleasure of interviewing liberal Kirsten Powers for C-SPAN about her new book, The Silencing: How the Left is Killing Free Speech... which takes on what she calls the “illiberal left” for using bullying, intimidation and political correctness to silence opinions that differ with their own. Really, she is criticizing the unAmerican and unconstitutional trend–whether by liberals or conservatives–to censor all opinions with which they disagree. She has amazing stories of the happenings on college campuses with kids being given “trigger” warnings on books and articles that might offend their sensitivities or give them PTSD by evoking an offensive image, and with college professors going berserk (and even physically attacking) when they see kids making perfectly legal demonstrations on campus but are delivering a message with which the professors disagree.        https://sharylattkisson.com/the-silencing-and-censorship-of-opinions/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+SharylAttkisson+%28Sharyl+Attkisson%29

Getting the Gaza “war crimes” truth out, before the UN lies
(William A. Jacobson) ~ It’s too late to undo “Operation Protective Edge,” the massive propaganda campaign surrounding the 2014 Gaza conflict... False statistics about civilian casualties were put out by Hamas ministries and then adopted without question by the UN, “human rights” groups, and the media to create the narrative that “most” or “almost all” or the “vast majority” of deaths were civilian. Critics of Israel have yet to explain how Israel was supposed to stop Hamas from firing rockets, tunneling under the border, or landing commandos by sea without firing into the civilian areas from which Hamas was operating.        http://legalinsurrection.com/2015/06/getting-the-gaza-war-crimes-truth-out-before-the-un-lies/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+LegalInsurrection+%28Le%C2%B7gal+In%C2%B7sur%C2%B7rec%C2%B7tion%29

The Carbon Tax Charade
Many fossil fuel producers will benefit, while the poor—and the economy—will suffer

.
(city-journal.org) ~ As the carbon-tax bandwagon gathers steam, some interesting enthusiasts are jumping on board. Last week, six major European oil and gas companies sent the U.N. a letter of support “because,” according to a New York Times editorial, “they realize something must be done.” But who exactly is steering this bandwagon, and who is being taken for a ride? Big energy companies win big from a carbon tax. What’s good for business is often good for society as well, and industry support for a policy is by no means an indictment per se. But here those gains would come at the expense of low-income households and long-term economic growth, while failing to achieve the environmental objectives set out to justify a tax in the first place.
.
How do companies that produce fossil fuels benefit from a tax on fossil fuels? First, they don’t end up paying it. Most economists expect nearly the entire cost increase to be passed directly on to consumers through higher prices. Second, for many fossil-fuel producers, the tax will increase rather than decrease their business. The largest energy companies are traditionally focused on oil and natural gas. Coal, representing 30 percent of global energy supply and the largest primary fuel for generating electricity, would be badly damaged by a tax. The biggest beneficiary of the damage would be natural gas, which emits less carbon dioxide and would thus face a lower tax. If higher oil prices push consumers away from gasoline and toward electric cars, the electricity for those cars can come from natural gas as well.
.
Passing costs on to others while maintaining—or even growing—sales will minimize any effects on the industry. Much of the benefit to fossil-fuel producers from a carbon tax will come from a third factor: a fine is a price. That insight is the title of a paper by Uri Gneezy and Aldo Rustichinianalyzing changes in parent behavior at preschools that imposed fines for late pick-ups. Counterintuitively, fines made parents more likely to arrive late. The sense of guilt that had once motivated them to arrive on time was replaced by a sense of permission to pay for the extra minutes of child care.
.
For energy producers, and all users of fossil fuels, a similar dynamic is at work. If a carbon tax is established at a price that economists and policymakers agree compensates society for the potential dangers of climate change, then anyone who wants to pay the price is implicitly welcome to emit the carbon dioxide. The result would presumably not be an increase in emissions as it was with increased late pick-ups. But paying the tax buys legal, economic, and moral permission for the very activity that the tax is designed to discourage. Energy producers get this benefit without even bearing the burden of the tax.
.
For the rest of society, perhaps the worst problem with a carbon tax is that it is extraordinarily regressive. Because poorer households spend a much greater share of their income on energy than do wealthier households, the price increases created by a tax eat up a greater share as well. Economists from the Brookings Institution and American Enterprise Institute found that a $15-per-ton carbon tax would cost the bottom 10 percent of households more than 3.5 percent of their income, and most taxes under consideration are two to three times higher. That’s the equivalent of a new income tax of 10 percent for the lowest-income households and 2 percent for the highest-income ones.
.
A rebate could offset this regressive effect, but sending a monthly check to every American has problems of its own (not least of them the de facto establishment of a guaranteed income). Unfortunately, analyses also consistently show that the economic drag of a new carbon tax could be counteracted only if the revenues from that tax are used to reduce corporate income-tax rates. Take your pick: a carbon tax that hurts the poor or a carbon tax that slows economic growth. Most likely we’ll get a carbon tax that does a little bit of both.
.
The entire exercise is supposed to be in service of reducing carbon-dioxide emissions and averting climate catastrophe. But the carbon-tax proposals under discussion cannot achieve their emissions-reduction targets, let alone make a noticeable dent in global emissions. Even a global tax—a political non-starter—would fail to push oil and gas prices any higher than they already were several years ago, a time at which environmentalists were hardly sanguine about the future. But once businesses and consumers are paying the “right price” for their emissions, where will the case be for other action?
.
There are political points to score with a carbon tax, and profits to capture, too. But these won’t benefit society; they will come at its expense.

First Lady says Muslim women's story is her story

I was looking at this picture of a grieving mother in Syria holding her headless daughter and what appeared to be an Islamic State barbarian holding the head. I thought to myself that these brutal animals just can't help themselves from killing men, women, and children who will not submit to their outrageous thearchy. Then I read a story where the "first lady" went to England to address a group of hijab-clad school girls on the topic of empowering women. They are from what is described as a hotbed of London's Islamist activity. You know what she told them? "When I look out at all these young women, I see myself. In so many ways your story is my story." Really?

A little less than a year ago, the UK Daily Mail reported that a nun tore down the black flag of the Islamic State in the village of Tower Hamlets. It was flying some two weeks side by side with the Palestinian flag. Tower Hamlets is considered an enclave of radical Islamists. The "first lady" described Tower Hamlets as a place where "families are tight knit...with strong values." Breitbart reports that the values held by the ruling Islamic cabal in Tower Hamlets are not something to brag about, as "Almost half of Britain's 1300 cases of Female Genital Mutilation last year were from London. No prizes for guess which areas these emanate from." The epicenter of those areas, according to news reports, is Tower Hamlets.

Breitbart reports that The Mulberry School for Girls, where the "first lady" gave her talk is also a hotbed for anti-White, anti-Israel sentiment. "...it has also played host to hard-left conferences sponsored by groups such as 'War on Want', which is closely tied to anti-Israel activities in the United Kingdom, the 'Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament' which has its roots in communist sympathizing, and indeed the European Parliament. The Mulberry Youth Conference boasts amongst its speakers Shami Chakrabarti from left-wing campaign group Liberty, ...anti-white racist columnist Yasmin Alibhai-Brown, hard-left activist Owen Jones, and feminist campaigner Lucy-Anne Holmes."

Heavy sigh. The only way a woman would want to be part of Islam is if she is brainwashed or so oppressed that she fears for her very life if she leaves--which Sharia Law would certainly allow her execution if she did leave. From mutilation to abuse to human trafficking to sex slavery to honor killings, how on earth is it possible for the "first lady's" story to be the same as an oppressed Islamic woman? Does she mean that she has submitted to an Islamic husband? What is she saying? What message is she sending by visiting and speaking to a Marxist Islamic school for girls? As Isaiah 5:20 says, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"

New York, Hillary Rodham ClintonTwitter lit up over the weekend with speculation over whether Hillary Clinton’s campaign planted a gay couple prominently behind her on the platform, who just happened to kiss on queue when the candidate stated her support for homosexual marriage.

Clinton has made a well-publicized flip-flop on the issue since her last time as a candidate in 2008.

As reported by Western Journalism, Clinton claims her position on the issue has evolved over time.

When she ran for the U.S. Senate in New York in 2000, she said: “Marriage has got historic, religious and moral content that goes back to the beginning of time and I think a marriage is as a marriage has always been, between a man and a woman.”

She also indicated that if she had been in the Senate at the time, she would have voted for the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act, which her husband signed into law.

In 2004, from the Senate floor, Clinton said:

I believe that marriage is not just a bond but a sacred bond between a man and a woman. I have had occasion in my life to defend marriage, to stand up for marriage, to believe in the hard work and challenge of marriage. So I take umbrage at anyone who might suggest that those of us who worry about amending the Constitution are less committed to the sanctity of marriage, or to the fundamental bedrock principle that exists between a man and a woman, going back into the mists of history as one of the founding, foundational institutions of history and humanity and civilization, and that its primary, principal role during those millennia has been the raising and socializing of children for the society into which they are to become adults.

The Effect of China's Hack Could Be Staggering
When the Office of Personnel Management announced that the data of four million past and present federal employees were taken by China, it could have been running damage control. The American Federation of Government Employees, the largest union for federal employees, accused OPM of being not forthright about the hack. The union believes China targeted the Central Personnel File and is now in possession of the information of every federal employee, including those who retired and left the government's employ. But it could be much, much worse. An unnamed government official told ABC News China could have targeted the database that stored government employees' SF-86 forms — the 127-page form public workers fill out when they apply for a security clearance. For a malicious government seeking to recruit spies, it's the Holy Grail, as the form asks the applicant to list the applicant's network — the people slept with, the foreign nationals in contact with, family members. We don't yet know what information is in China's hands. But one thing is clear: Big government stands directly opposed to privacy, and by extension, Liberty. This is why the big data that comes with nObamaCare is so insidious. When it comes to cybersecurity, Liberty is America's greatest strength.  -The Patriot Post

It's Up to Congress to Keep the Internet Tax Free
The Internet Tax Freedom Act passed the House by voice vote this week, and now heads to the Senate. The best news is that it's a permanent extension. In place since 1998, dinky Harry Reid's Senate only permitted a one-year extension last year because he wanted a hostage for other negotiations. But the law becomes increasingly important in the age of so-called net neutrality (which takes effect today), because it prevents taxation on Internet and email services in America's 9,600 tax jurisdictions. House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte warned that the FCC's decision to regulate the Internet like telecommunications "emboldens states to apply these telecom taxes to Internet access immediately, should ITFA lapse." Goodlatte also laid bare the problem with Internet taxes, saying that granting states such powers would allow "lawmakers to dodge accountability for the burdens associated with their policy choices by shifting them onto non-residents who cannot hold them accountable at the ballot box." Furthermore, he said, "[I]f Congress lets 'economic presence' rather than 'physical presence' become the standard, states will mostly exempt resident companies from tax obligations while imposing them on out-of-state companies." In other words, taxation without representation. For those with any sense of American history, that phrase should ring loud and clear.  -The Patriot Post

 Lessons on Picking Your Identity
The City of Spokane is investigating a critical matter, and the outcome should be black and white. The president of the city's NAACP chapter likely violated the city's code of ethics because she's actually white. Rachel Dolezal identifies as African-American and has even modified her appearance accordingly. She's also claimed to be the victim of several "hate" crimes. But public records indicate she and both of her parents are white. The obvious comparison is Bruce Jenner, the former male Olympic decathlon champion who now says he's a woman. Many leftists gladly accepted him as a her, even giving him awards for "courage." But while Jenner is affirmed, Dolezal has committed an unforgivable sin by doing pretty much the same thing. Perhaps a less obvious comparison is the example of a prominent man who has a white mother and black father (who abandoned him early on), and yet who identifies solely by the race of his father — well, unless his Irish ancestry happens to be politically beneficial. Any guesses who that might be? Identity sure is an interesting thing with liberal social mores.   -The Patriot Post

What Exactly Are We Trading in the TPA/TPP?
It’s a deal that's been in the works since before Barack nObama took office, but as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), a free trade pact, is being hammered into shape, some members of Congress — especially Democrats — are reluctant to give nObama the same "fast-track" authority other presidents have had over the last few decades. Specifically, that would happen through the Trade Promotion Authority (TPA), the full text of which is here. Some conservatives also have a problem with awarding any authority to this particular chief executive, given his track record of abusing his power on immigration and regulation.
There’s an argument to be had, however, from conservatives who remind us that free trade is the bailiwick of the Republican Party. George Will leads the charge:

“It is ... unnecessary to defeat fast-track authority (thereby defeating freer trade) in order to restrain this rogue president. The 22nd Amendment guarantees his departure in 19 months. His lawlessness has prompted congressional resistance on multiplying fronts. The judiciary, too, has repeatedly rebuked him for illegal executive overreaches. So, it is neither necessary nor statesmanlike to injure the nation’s future in order to protest nObama’s past.”

There’s also the libertarian free-trade perspective of the Cato Institute:

"Historically, trade agreements have expanded Americans’ economic liberties, even though that outcome has never been the principal objective. It happens residually. Trade negotiators prioritize the export-oriented goals of their business interests and, in the process of reaching those objectives, make Americans more economically free."

In both instances, we're reminded that the process doesn’t end with congressional passage of the TPA, which, in short, grants nObama negotiating power and provides for Congress to then hold an up-or-down vote on whatever agreement nObama makes — without being able to amend it. While nothing is certain in Congress, the House is slated to vote on the TPA legislation today, following the Senate’s passage of the measure last month. (It didn't pass) -The Patriot Post

Court affidavit confirm Muslim beheading plot against Pamela Geller
(themuslimissue.wordpress.com) ~ Everywhere we look in the world today with countries merged into poverty, war and strife we see the footmarks of Islam in that conflict. In spite of this thousands of Muslims are being imported into America, into Europe, into Canada, Australia, UK every single year without any discrimination... Those politicians who make this possible need to be charged with treason and face execution for the most dangerous social engineering in modern history. A few days back we reported on Bosnia, and how the country has turned into the criminal and violent cesspool it is today, all due to Islam. And why? Because the non-Muslim Bosnia was too lenient and complacent in removing Muslims right from the start when they began increasing in numbers and trying to force their way into the country. Eventually this acceptance of Muslims and Islam into the country would develop into a disaster, like it always does, with Muslim violence building up and escalating into a civil war that never ends unless they get power. Once Muslims get a footing in the country the worldwide recruiting begins. First as a small trickle effect but as their numbers increase, they have children, more arrive by immigration, the problems also increase. This is why we repeatedly say that the only solution is to deport Muslims, ban them any residency or entry to the West, demolish mosques and ban Islam, ban all visas to Muslims, end all trade with Islamic countries. And definitely end the oil trade which is a constant funding source for terrorism and the spread of Salafism worldwide.        https://themuslimissue.wordpress.com/2015/06/14/court-affidavit-confirm-muslim-beheading-plot-against-pamela-geller-in-texas/

Bishop tells West: Defeat ISIS or give Christians asylum
(Leo Hohmann) ~ A leading Iraqi prelate has called on the U.S. and its allies to double down on their efforts to defeat ISIS militarily, and, if that is not possible, to rescue Iraq’s 120,000 exiled Christians and grant them asylum in the West... Marking the first anniversary of the Islamic State’s capture of Mosul, Syrian Catholic Archbishop Yohanna Mouche called on “people who have the responsibility” to come to the rescue of the ousted Christian communities, whose people long to go home, the archbishop said in a phone interview with John Pontifex of Aid to the Church in Need, an international Catholic charity.  ISIS, Saudi Arabia, Iran and the West
(Salim Mansur) ~ In a hard-hitting essay on ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) for The Daily Mail, the 2001 Nobel Prize winning author, V.S. Naipaul, wrote: "ISIS could very credibly abandon the label of Caliphate and call itself the Fourth Reich."... Among the writings on Islam and Muslims in recent years, Naipaul's, as in the books Among the Believers and Beyond Belief, have been perhaps the most incisive and penetrating in exploring the extremist politics of the global Islamist movement from inside of the Muslim world. And that ISIS on a rampage, as Naipaul observed, revived "religious dogmas and deadly rivalries between Sunnis and Shi'as, Sunnis and Jews and Christians is a giant step into darkness." Ever since the relatively obscure Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi stepped forth on the pulpit of the Great Mosque in Mosul, Iraq, on June 28, 2014 to announce the rebirth of the Caliphate (abolished in 1924 by the Turkish leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk), with al-Baghdadi himself assuming the title of Caliph Ibrahim, the ruling head of the ummah, or worldwide community of Muslims, many might agree with Naipaul, despite the hyperbole -- he has left out a potentially nuclear Iran -- that "ISIS has to be seen as the most potent threat to the world since the Third Reich."       http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/5956/isis-saudi-arabia-iran

Greece: Watching the Wheels Come Off
(Maria Plizoidou) ~ When you visit Greece, the customs officers will put in your passport the stamp of the Greek Republic. You will see the Greek flag waving at Athens International Airport; taxis waiting for customers, gas stations still in operation and public infrastructure being kept at a mediocre level... This, however, is just an illusion. Greece is a collapsing country. Greece is experiencing the perfect financial, political and social storm: all at the same time, state structures have to deal corruption and serious internal and foreign security problems. It is the ultimate nightmare for every state. Greek banks function not because they can, but because they have to. The Greek state has stopped honoring its financial obligations toward private individuals and enterprises. The state's revenue is enough only for civil servant salaries and pensions. Greece's political system produces more laughter, more enemies and more entropy than it can deal with. The gap between government and governed cannot be bridged by any coalition of political parties. Greek lawmakers look like a cartel of self-centered, corrupt puppets, who manage to survive in their jobs only because they have appointed thousands of their parties' supporters to jobs in the public sector, working as tax collectors, bureaucrats, port and airport workers, gardeners, school guards, and so on. Is the USA becoming a Greece?       http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/5923/greece-collapse

 Allen West “Something is Wrong”
(allenwestrepublic.com) ~ Allen West pointed out that ISIS is currently operating in the open with little resistance. “When you look at these pictures of ISIS, and the fact they are having daytime parades through Ramadi, or they’re transiting through these cities in broad daylight, not a cloud in the sky, something is wrong,”... President nObama’s decision to ignore his generals’ recommendations and withdraw U.S. forces from Iraq, leaving behind a power vacuum that is being exploited by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), is “probably the greatest military blunder the world will ever know,” Lt. Col. Allen West (Army-Retired) told CNSNews.com. “And I think one of the most important things is the president needs to stand up and be forthright and say he got it wrong. That’s the start to having an effective strategy, is admit that he had it wrong in the first place… Getting it wrong is a president that probably made the greatest military blunder that the world will ever know,” the former congressman said.       http://allenwestrepublic.com/2015/06/13/allen-west-something-is-wrong/

Veterans ripped off by fake research project
(Michael Volpe) ~ A Veterans Administration researcher used actors and pressured veterans into participating in a “secret shopper”-style project, and now the House Veteran Affairs Committee is investigating how the agency spent $900,000 for the faked study... The head of the study, Dr. Saul Weiner, professor of medicine, pediatrics and medical education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, admitted actors were hired to portray veterans, according to a letter from the committee chairman, Rep. Mike Coffman, R-Colo. “The actors wore hidden microphones to capture the physician-patient interaction; feigned symptoms that took real appointment slots from veterans and tied up facility resources, such as lab tests, while health-care professionals sought answers to the actor’s fake maladies,” Coffman said.    http://www.wnd.com/2015/06/veterans-ripped-off-by-fake-research-project/

Congressman Mike Rogers Introduces Bill to Get U.S. Out of UN
(Alex Newman) ~ Citing wasted tax dollars and attacks on the constitutionally guaranteed liberties of the American people, Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.; shown) introduced a bill to restore U.S. sovereignty and withdraw from the United Nations... The effort to de-fund and exit the UN comes amid growing scrutiny of the global organization, often ridiculed as the “dictators club,” and myriad mega-scandals swirling around it. However, despite ever-growing support in Congress for restoring U.S. sovereignty by withdrawing from the UN over the years, the legislation still faces an uphill battle. In a statement last week announcing the American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2015 (H.R. 1205), Rep. Rogers noted that many of his constituents in East Alabama would likely agree with his position that U.S. government participation in the UN should end immediately. “The U.N. continues to prove it’s an inefficient bureaucracy and a complete waste of American tax dollars,” the congressman said, echoing widespread concerns about the international outfit expressed across America and worldwide.       http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/congress/item/21058-congressman-mike-rogers-introduces-bill-to-get-u-s-out-of-un

Russia China Pact with Snowden in the Middle
(Denise Simon) ~ Going beyond the major hack by China into the Office of Personnel Management that cultivated at least 14 million personnel files of government, intelligence and military, China is building a database of individuals in America... Would they share it with Russia? The wake of destruction is yet to be known and future predictions are impossible to imagine. Russia is turning to China and likewise China is delighted for the relationship as proven by the Silk Road Economic objectives. Putin’s vision of a ‘greater Europe’ from Lisbon to Vladivostok, made up of the European Union and the Russian-led Eurasian Economic Union, is being replaced by a ‘greater Asia’ from Shanghai to St. Petersburg.       http://www.trevorloudon.com/2015/06/russia-china-pact-with-snowden-in-the-middle/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+NewZeal+%28New+Zeal+Blog%29

The Federal Government is the Problem
.
Burt_Header_M2.jpg
.
(burtprelutsky.com) ~ Ronald Reagan was right when he stated that the federal government is not the solution and again when he said that the nine scariest words in the English language are “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”
.
Having said all that, I do not share the fears of a great many on the Right who apparently lie awake nights worrying about the NSA listening in on their phone calls. From my earlier defense of the National Security Agency, I know that a number of my readers disagree. So be it. When push comes to shove, I prefer siding with Charles Krauthammer andJohn Bolton to sharing Rand Paul’s paranoia.
.
For one thing, even if nObama and his stooges wanted to listen in on a few billion phone calls a day, I don’t believe they are up to the task. But it does make me somewhat envious of all you folks who are having all those fascinating phone calls that you imagine others are dying to tune in on. For my part, anyone tapping my line will, ninety-nine times out of 100, hear me hanging up on a telemarketer who has just addressed me as Mr. Potsky.
.
Those who are vehemently opposed to the government’s collecting phone numbers and the length of calls will often point out that so far as we know, not a single terrorist attack on America has been foiled by the NSA. But it should be obvious that if any had been, the feds wouldn’t go around bragging about it, lest the bad guys tracked down and eliminated the weak link in their communication system.
.
More to the point, although a great many Americans have been harassed by the IRS, the EPA and the Justice Department, under nObama, no citizen has come forward to state that his privacy has been intruded upon by the NSA. And we all know that if anyone’s Fourth Amendment rights had been violated, the NY Times would have splashed the news across its front page and Rand Paul would have highlighted it during one of his weekly filibusters.
.
♦ None of this should be taken as an endorsement of nObama and his approach to national security. So far, after six years in office, he has shown that the only use he has for the military is as a prop when he occasionally addresses the cadets at West Point or when he wants to do battle with Ebola or global warming.
.
Many pundits have pointed out that nObama has no strategy when it comes to fighting those who are massacring Christians, women and children, in the Middle East and North Africa and who have sworn to kill Americans. That’s not true. He has a strategy. It’s called non-engagement.
.
Like most liberals, he is opposed to warfare and despises those who wear the uniform. Like hanoi John Kerry, who dismissed those in the military as people too dumb to go to college, nObama hates people who wear guns to work, unless, of course, they’re protecting his sorry ass. It helps to explain his contempt for cops and for those of us who support them.
.
Some people believe his mantra of “No boots on the ground” is because he’s a Muslim or at least sympathetic to them. But he is equally unwilling to confront Putin’s aggression. Does anyone think it’s because he’s Russian Orthodox and was born in Minsk?
.
If anyone is going to oppose the barbarians, nObama wants the Saudis, the Qataris and the Jordanians, to do it. But as we’ve seen in Iraq, that doesn’t work out too well. At the first sign of ISIS, the Iraqi forces we’ve been training for a dozen years, turned tail and ran. If we have reason to fear ISIS or Iran, for that matter, we should stop relying on cut-throats and back-stabbers to do our killing for us, and we should forget about nation-building. We used to think that nobody could be worse than the likes of Gadhafi, Mubarak, Hussein and the Shah of Iran. But those creeps knew how to keep the Islamic radicals in line, and we now realize that those were the good old days.
.
The problems with our jobbing out the fighting to Arabs and Muslims is, one, we can’t tell our friends from our enemies and, two, they not only run, but they leave our weapons behind to be used by our foes. It’s like a weird kind of Middle East quiz show, where the parting gifts consist of American trucks, tanks and artillery.
.
I hate nObama, but let’s face it, the schmuck didn’t vote for himself 70 million times. For the past 240 years, our military has protected us from our mortal enemies. But in the end, it couldn’t protect us from ourselves.
.
♦ Most of us look at Detroit and we see the inevitable result of decades of liberal leadership. It is what always happens when millions of people sign up to be dependents of the city, state and federal, governments, eager to surrender their backbones and their votes in exchange for a welfare check. Most of us look at Detroit and feel compassion or disgust or a combination of the two. Baltimore, however, looks at Detroit and the message seems to be “If they can do it, we can do it.”
.
♦ One is accustomed to hearing that practice makes perfect, but Congress continues to disprove that notion. All they do all day is vote, but they are obviously as bad at it as those of us who only vote every few years. But the louts we vote for are essentially only running against one other person, limiting our choices to either a Republican or a Democrat.
.
But what possible excuse do these people have for electing and re-electing the likes of dinky Harry Reid, Nancy Pulosi, Mitch McCon-nell and backstabber John Boehner? On the face of it, the four of them have nothing to recommend them for leadership positions. They are all physically unattractive and, even when reading scripts, are deadly dull and unpersuasive. And yet their colleagues keep selecting them to be the face and voice of their respective parties.
.
♦ In other news, while addressing the Adas Israel Congregation in Washington, D.C.. recently, nObama said, “Earlier this week, I was actually interviewed by one of your members, Jeff Goldberg, and he reminded me that he once called me ‘the first Jewish President.’ Now, since some people still seem to be wondering about my faith, I should make clear this was an honorary title. But I was flattered.”
.
Inasmuch as even in 2012, roughly 70% of the Jewish vote went to nObama in spite of his pandering to Iran, his refusal to take up arms against the Muslims or even to identify Islam as the existential enemy of Israel and the U.S. -- and that the Jews at the Synagogue gave him a number of standing ovations -- there’s no question he deserves the title. But, speaking as a Jew, it’s hardly flattering.
.
♦ The art world, being what it is, it’s not the least bit surprising that the latest sensation is an artist-vandal named Katsu who, working in the medium of feces, has been painting the likes of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Google CEO Eric Schmidt.
.
It seems to me that in a rational world, he would be commissioned to start painting presidential portraits.

rupt-1.jpg?width=234Hillary Clinton is a lot of things…

She’s a treasonous snake, a liar, an accessory to the murders of four Americans in Benghazi, prone to drinking, unethical, by many accounts a shrew, a carpet-bagger, a socialist, most likely a racketeer, a destroyer of evidence and documents and the list just goes on and on but one thing she is not, is presidential material.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again…the DNC doesn’t want Hillary Clinton to get the nomination nor do we even believe they want her pant-suited ass in the 2016 race.

The DNC turned their collective backs on Hillary in 2008, leaving her campaign’s dried up carcass on the side of the road as they hitched their wagon to Barack Hussein Obama and the only time they looked back was when they gave her the consolation prize of being the Secretary of State, a position she was woefully unprepared for and the results have left egg on all their faces.

It doesn’t matter how deep one digs, there simply aren’t any liberals out there who can dredge up one single accomplishment upon which Hillary can hang her hat during her time leading the Department of State down the road to international disaster. In fact, when asked, not even Hillary herself can come up with anything more astounding than the amount of miles she flew during those years.

When asked directly, what her greatest accomplishment has been, here is Hillary’s response from March 11th, 2014…

Pfleger and Jackson vs. the NRA

Pfleger and Jackson vs. the NRA

One would think that Catholic priests like Chicago’s Rev. Michael Pfleger, an early supporter of Barack Obama and his push for gun control, would not be bearing false witness against one of his neighbors. Yet there he was standing in front of Chuck’s Gun Shop in suburban Riverdale, Illinois, to blame it, and other legal businesses like it, along with the National Rifle Association, for the murder spree in the gun-controlled progressive worker’s paradise of Chicago.

Standing with the camera-shy Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence president Dan Gross in front of the gun shop, Father Pfleger proclaimed that the NRA had “blood on its hands” for the children killed in Chicago gang violence and that the NRA would “pay for the murder of our children.”

THE FOUNDATION

“[O]ur commercial policy should hold an equal and impartial hand: neither seeking nor granting exclusive favors or preferences; consulting the natural course of things; diffusing and diversifying by gentle means the streams of commerce, but forcing nothing; establishing with powers so disposed; in order to give trade a stable course.” —George Washington, Farewell Address, 1796

TOP RIGHT HOOKS

HUD’s ‘Housing Equality’ Thud

Barack Obama’s Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is set to release a rule aimed at fostering “diversity” in wealthy neighborhoods around the country. “HUD is working with communities across the country to fulfill the promise of equal opportunity for all,” an agency spokeswoman said. “The proposed policy seeks to break down barriers to access to opportunity in communities supported by HUD funds.” This diversity scheme has shades of the last time Democrats attempted to reconfigure banking to favor unqualified people. Promoters of the policy are suggesting it’s fair because, if states and communities don’t want to abide by Obama’s decree, they can forgo the federal money they receive. That’s a fair argument only if the people in those states can also choose to forgo paying taxes to the federal government. Of course, most of Obama’s supporters pay no taxes. Political analyst Marc Thiessen said it best: “We as conservatives believe and diversifying communities too. The way you do that is through economic opportunity. It’s not by building more affordable housing in affluent communities, it’s by creating economic opportunities so that more Americans can afford housing in affluent communities. Right now the problem is that people at the bottom of the Obama economy can’t get ahead.” HUD’s rule is nothing more than an Obama charade to ramp up class warfare and appease constituents who are enslaved on poverty plantations — the direct result of generations of failed Democrat economic policies.

House Democrats Doom Obama’s Trade Deal

In a vote that served a smackdown on Obama’s trade deal with Pacific countries, House Democrats voted against a provision that was supposed to sweeten the legislation allowing Obama the authority to fast track the Trans-Pacific Partnership. On Friday, the Houseoverwhelmingly rejected TAA in a 302-126 vote and narrowly passed TPA 219-211. Both chambers need to agree on the legislation before it heads to Obama’s desk. So TPA will head back to the Senate where it may or may not pass; the bill’s on life support.

This comes as Obama lobbied hard for the measure to pass. He showed up at the congressional baseball game to personally lobby lawmakers. He even made his way to Capitol Hill to talk to Democrats — the first time in two years. It was personal, it was desperate and, ouch, Pelosi and Co. betrayed him. “Basically, the president tried to both guilt people and then impugned their integrity, and I don’t think it was a very effective tactic,” said Democrat Rep. Peter Defazio (D-OR). Both parties are split in Congress over the issue. But those who love Liberty should appreciate that we have more time to debate a trade deal.

China’s Theft of Federal Employee Data Demands a Response

Not only has China scraped up the data from all federal employees past and present, the Office of Personnel Management said it had “a high degree of confidence” that the country has every SF-86 form submitted by any American seeking a security clearance. Former general council to the NSA and former National Counterterrorism Center head Matthew Olsen said the data could be used many different ways by the oppressive Chinese regime, “whether it’s [to] blackmail, to recruit, [or] to punish individuals in China who are connected to people in the United States.” As it’s been said before, China has been creating a massive database on American citizens, and it has also hacked into the databases of health insurance companies in the past to gather data. Furthermore, anonymous sources are saying the data theft of federal employees didn’t just affect four million people. Instead, the breach could affect as many as 14 million Americans. In response to impeding U.S. intelligence efforts, cataloging Americans like merchandise and sitting poised to wreak further havoc on our country, let’s hope the U.S. is also matching China’s data collection efforts. In this game of espionage, let’s make it so China also cannot keep secrets.More…

FEATURED RIGHT ANALYSIS

June Deadline for ‘Islamic Bomb’

By Patriot Post Staff

2015-06-15-adc35e58_large.jpg

As yet another supposed “deadline” approaches for a final agreement with Iran over its nuclear program, the sheer determination of Barack Obama to get any deal he can before he leaves office — literally any deal — becomes more and more the driving force behind our negotiating position.

Having once said “We cannot allow Iran to get a nuclear weapon; it would be a game-changer in the region” and claiming “I will always keep the threat of military action on the table,” Obama is now willing to ignore Iranian nuclear violations, ignore Iran’s willful violation of UN Security Council resolutions, ignore Iran’s role in the Syrian war, ignore Iran’s continued arming and equipping of Hezbollah, ignore Iran’s defacto control of Iraq, ignore the mortal threat a nuclear Iran would pose to Israel, and ignore the history of the current Iranian regime, all in the hope of getting something on paper with which to declare his foreign policy legacy.

Ten years will also produce advances in Iran’s ballistic missile program, another subject once linked to the nuclear program but now tossed aside by the White House.

Why is Obama so determined to give this extraordinary gift to Iran? Because, as Reuel Marc Gerecht, senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, points out in a scathingcritique of the president’s misunderstanding of Iran, Obama is afraid that if the United States tries to hold a harder line the Iranians will simply walk away from the talks. And then the president will be faced with another red line he knows he cannot bring himself to enforce.

Obama’s irresolution has been the one common thread running through all of his administration’s dealings with Iran. Time and again, he has demonstrated lack of leadership and lack of resolve in the face of unpleasant facts. Having been elected president on a platform of platitudes, perhaps he really believes that wishing can make it so. But the entire body of human history demonstrates the opposite.

This lack of leadership and resolve has led key friends and allies around the world to re-assess their relationships with the United States. How can Saudi Arabia, or South Korea, or Estonia take seriously America’s pledge to defend them while Obama is giving away the farm to Iran? This lack of faith in American resolve has reportedly led to the virtually unthinkable happening: Israeli and Saudi officials recently acknowledged the two nations are consulting on how to deal with the rising threat of Iran without the U.S.

We remain guardedly optimistic that no final deal will be reached by June 30, which will at least prevent sanctions being lifted for another nine months or so. But as months of negotiation stretch into years, and as Iran inches ever closer to nuclear capability, the only thing that can possibly bring about an acceptable outcome to the nuclear issue is U.S. leadership and resolve — something sorely lacking in our current president and his team of fellow travelers.

OPINION IN BRIEF

Burt Prelutsky: “Because Obama is so adamant about having what only he regards as a major foreign policy achievement on his resume, he is leaving Israel and the Gulf nations to swing in the breeze while he offers Iran the entire Middle East in exchange for a signature on a nuclear deal. If he had a single ounce of red blood in his veins, Obama would have sent our military over there months ago to wipe out ISIS before they burned, beheaded or crucified any more people. Instead, Obama and his stooges defend his inaction by insisting that Americans are war-weary. I beg to differ. What we’re sick of is engaging in wars we have no desire to win unconditionally. If an American president ever pledged himself to wipe out those in the Middle East and North Africa who target Christians for extermination, who kidnap young girls and turn them into sex slaves and who exhort their pea-brained followers in the U.S. and Britain to execute soldiers, cops and civilians, I feel reasonably confident that his approval rate would hover well above 80%.”

SHORT CUTS

Insight: “The Founding Fathers knew a government can’t control the economy without controlling people. And they knew when a government sets out to do that, it must use force and coercion to achieve its purpose.” —The Gipper

Non Compos Mentis: “It was very courageous and brave, if not crazy as well, to open fire on the [Dallas] police headquarters, and now you have this scene, this standoff.” —CNN anchor Fredricka Whitfield, who later claimed she “misspoke”

Belly laugh of the week: “I’ve stood up to adversaries like Putin and reinforced allies like Israel.” —Hillary Clinton (“The problem with that first sentence is that it’s the opposite of being true: As secretary of state, Clinton stood up to Israel and reinforced Putin.” —The Weekly Standard’s John McCormack)

The BIG Lie, Part I: “No poll shows that voters don’t trust Hillary.” —Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook (A new CNN/ORC poll found that 57% say Clinton isn’t “honest and trustworthy.”)

The BIG Lie, Part II: “I don’t think there’s ever been anyone more consistent in their entire career [than Hillary].” —Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta

Village Idiots: “The Baltimore thing came on the heels of what happened in Ferguson and what happened in New York City and all these other places. … You can’t have a bunch of people walking around with guns. … You get enough people with weapons around and there will be unattended consequences. People make mistakes. People do wrong. Things happen. To hold a community together you got to have a high level of community trust.” —Bill Clinton

Late-night humor: “Hillary Clinton is apparently asking people to donate to her campaign, even if all they can afford is one dollar. Then Bill Clinton said, ‘Trust me, I will find a use for a giant stack of singles.’” —Conan O'Brien

Jihadi who wanted to kill Pamela Geller said he’d kill his family if they refused to live by Sharia

He was ordered to be held for a week. What if he starts plotting jihad murder again next week? And notice how he makes the choice Sharia or blood. Which will America choose?

“Jihadi who wanted to kill Pamela Geller said he’d kill his family if they refused to live by Sharia,” by Robert Spencer, Jihad Watch, June 13, 2015:

“When asked about bail, Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie Siegmann told the judge that Rovinski posed a ‘significant threat to public safety.’ He was ordered held for a week and limped away in shackles.”

A week? A week? Will anyone be watching this jihadi savage next week?

“He also indicated he is prepared to fight anyone who is an enemy of ISIL, including Americans if necessary,...

Boston imam denies inciting Muslims to jihad violence, despite video of fiery sermons

Fox includes in this article the clip of me calling out the mosque. The imam is forced to respond. This article makes him look like a liar.

This is exactly where the conversation should be going, instead of blaming the victim.

“Boston imam denies radicalizing faithful, despite video of fiery sermons,” by Brooke Singman,FoxNews.com, June 13, 2015:

Several Boston-area terror suspects, including the man killed by police earlier this month as he allegedly sought to behead cops and two alleged associates, have frequently attended sermons given by firebrand imam whose message to the faithful doesn’t match the conciliatory tone he struck when contacted by FoxNews.com.

UK Muslim activist claims that Zionists broke into his home and stole one of his shoes

Jew stole my shoe!

This man, Asghar Bukhari of the Muslim Public Affairs Council UK, is clearly insane, or on cocaine (see how often he wipes his nose) or some other drug. Yet he is a respected political analyst and activist in the UK. Which tells you all you need to know about the UK today.

Moderate Morocco: Gay Couple Faces Two Years in Prison for Public Kiss

It is terrifying for gay people to live in a Muslim country that is under the sharia or even respectful of sharia law. What is so egregious is that openly gay men in the West like Anderson Cooper loudly and repeatedly condemn me for my counter jihad work and opposition to sharia. And he is hardly alone: the vast majority of gay organizations stand staunchly with their would-be executioners.

Sick.

Above: One of AFDI’s ads highlighting Muslim oppression of gays which was widely condemned by gay leadership in San Francisco, the gay capital.

Muhammad drawing exhibition BANNED in Denmark

From Denmark comes news of still more capitulation to violent intimidation in the service of the imposition of sharia blasphemy laws. Kudos to my friend and colleague in Denmark, Anders Gravers of SIAD and SION, for refusing to submit. He sent me this message:

Dear Pamela,

Yesterday late evening, I received an email from the party Fremskridtspartiet who should host the exhibition of your drawings where they forbid me to show the exhibition in their tent to the peoples meeting on Bornholm – a meeting where also Geert Wilders will attend and talk for Free Press Society DK.
They were pressed by the leadership of the peoples meeting to forbid me to show the exhibition in their tent. The chairman of the peoples meeting is Bornholms...

‘Bosnian fans stepped on Israeli flag, hurled anti-Jewish chants’

I continue to take heat for my support of the Serbs (Christians) in Clinton’s Bosnian misadventure. We were on the wrong side in that war, and the consequences of Clinton’s perfidy continue to reverberate in that region. Bill Clinton sent American soldiers to fight alongside the “mujahedeen” against the Serb Christians in the Bosnia war. Most Americans still don’t know or understand the implications of America’s support of the jihad in Europe.

“‘Bosnian fans stepped on Israeli flag, hurled anti-Jewish chants,'” Jerusalem Post, June 13, 2015:

Two goals by striker Edin Visca and a penalty from Edin Dzeko helped Bosnia to a 3-1 win, reviving the hosts’ chances of reaching the finals in France.

 SHADOWBOXING DEMS SET IOWA EXHIBITION
Like a lopsided heavyweight bout, the Democratic Party knows that staging a primary battle where the challengers are likely to go down in the first round means pumping up the sparring events. Hence word that Hilly Clinton and rivals Martin O’MalleyBernie Sanders and Jim Webb will share the stage at the 2015 Iowa Democratic Party Hall of Fame Celebration July 17 in Cedar Rapids. In contrast to numerous Republican multi-candidate events in the state, the Cedar Rapids gathering will be the first where the Democratic contenders will appear together, according to Iowa Democratic Party spokesman Sam Lau.

Clintons clash over Bubba’s email -  Fox News: “[A]t a Clinton Global Initiative meeting in Denver…[Bill Clinton] said the ‘only time’ he got on the Internet was to do ‘two emails’ and order Christmas presents…The statement echoes what a spokesman told the Wall Street Journal in March -- that the ex-president had only sent two emails in his life, one to U.S. troops and the other to astronaut John Glenn. Yet, when Hilly Clinton held a press conference in March explaining her personal email use, she said her private server ‘contains personal communications from my husband and me.’”

COON HUNTING HELPS RYAN MOVE TRADE BILL
AP: “Immigration hardliner Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, said Wednesday he moved from leaning ‘no’ to a solid ‘yes’ after [Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wisc.,] assured him that trade negotiations would include no changes to immigration policy. ‘It’s actually a significant benefit because it will prohibit the negotiation of immigration provisions of any kind in any trade agreement that’s negotiated under the TPA,’ said King, who spoke for 10 to 15 minutes with Ryan during which time King spotted a raccoon heading out of his barn to prowl. That led to a discussion of raccoon hunting and guns before they reached agreement on the trade bill, King said.”

Islamic State: The Myth of a Baathist 'Hidden Hand'
(Aymenn Jawad al-Tamini) ~ Since the full-blown revival of Iraq's Sunni insurgency at the beginning of 2014, there has been much misunderstanding of the relationship between the Islamic State and insurgents of Baathist orientation, principally represented by the Jaish Rijaal al-Tariqa al-Naqshabandiyya(JRTN)... Much of the discourse on this subject attempts to tie the JRTN to the Islamic State, arguing that a so-called "alliance of convenience" between the two groups has been key to the Islamic State's maintenance of power in areas outside of government control. Linked to this theme is the portrayal of the Islamic State as somehow Baathism reincarnated, most commonly noting the former careers that many leading figures in the group had in the security apparatus of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein's government. As such, it is worthwhile to trace the relationship between the JRTN and the Islamic State from the initial emergence of the former until the present day, primarily focusing on the aftermath of the United States' military withdrawal from Iraq at the end of 2011, in order to highlight that the common notion of the "alliance of convenience" is mistaken and that there is a clear dividing line between the two groups.       http://www.meforum.org/5312/isis-baathist-hidden-hand

nObama’s Marxist Social and Demographic Engineering of America
(Terresa Monroe-Hamilton) ~ nObama is now making offers to debt-ridden municipalities that they dare not take. It’s like the devil offering you a way out and then collecting on that debt. Or, if you prefer, it’s like the mafia giving you money to solve your problems and then you owe them. Forever... The leaders in these areas won’t ask the residents and voters, they’ll let the silver cross their palms and will be blinded by the shininess of the coin they pocket. Corruption will finish selling free America down the proverbial river. I’ll be blunt… these municipalities should not be taking money from the feds. They should solve their problems at the local level, stand on their own and not be beholding to a governmental behemoth. Under the guise of nObama’s Utopia, our president has been plotting for years the ultimate wealth redistribution here in America. It’s Marxist social and demographic engineering on a breathtaking scale. I believe this is the most insidious thing he has planned for us and it is a killer.       http://www.trevorloudon.com/2015/06/obamas-marxist-social-and-demographic-engineering-of-america/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+NewZeal+%28New+Zeal+Blog%29

U.S. Agrees to Let Iran Keep Nuke Secrets
(pamelageller.com) ~ The nObama administration will agree to let Iran bypass questions about its past nuclear military work under any final deal signed in the coming weeks, according to reports... Western officials were quoted as telling the Associated Press on Friday that the United States has given up a major concession to Iran on the military front. While senior U.S. officials, including Secretary of State hanio John Kerry, have long insisted that Iran will immediately have to submit to wide-ranging inspections and disclosures regarding its past nuclear work, the new reports indicate that this demand has been cast aside as world powers work to strike a final deal with the Islamic Republic by the end of June. I wonder if anyone saw this coming?  China Conducts Fourth Test of Wu-14 Strike Vehicle
(Bill Gertz) ~ China this week carried out the fourth test of an ultra high-speed nuclear delivery vehicle that conducted what intelligence officials say were extreme maneuvers... The test of the Wu-14 hypersonic strike vehicle was carried out Sunday, launched atop a ballistic missile fired from a test facility in western China. It was the fourth successful test of the Wu-14 in the past 18 months and the frequency of tests is being viewed by U.S. intelligence analysts as an indicator of the high priority placed on developing the weapon by the Chinese.       http://freebeacon.com/national-security/china-conducts-fourth-test-of-wu-14-strike-vehicle/

6 Yemeni jihadis at Guantanamo Bay sent to Oman
(Robert Spencer) ~ It was the first movement of detainees out of Guantanamo in five months as Congress considers new restrictions on transfers... The six men boarded a flight Friday from the U.S. facility in Cuba, and their transfer reduced Guantanamo’s population to 116. President Barack nObama has now transferred more than half the 242 detainees who were at Guantanamo when he was sworn into office in 2009 after campaigning to close it. But he is far from achieving that goal. With just a year and a half left in his second term, final transfer approvals are coming slowly from the Pentagon and lawmakers are threatening to make movement out even harder.        http://www.jihadwatch.org/2015/06/6-yemeni-jihadis-at-guantanamo-bay-sent-to-oman

Noura Erakat Wages Lawfare on Israel
(Cinnamon Stillwell) ~ Since the 2014 Gaza war, proponents of lawfare have sought to use the International Criminal Court to punish Israel for daring to respond militarily to Hamas’s unrelenting aggression... Noura Erakat, an assistant professor in legal and international studies at George Mason University and an adjunct professor at Georgetown University’s Center for Contemporary Arab Studies, presented her case in a recent talk atStanford University titled, “War on Gaza in the Age of Human Rights: Prospects for Accountability.” The niece of Palestinian Authority (P.A.) chief negotiator Saeb Erakat, Erakat’s tone was calm and measured, her demeanor pleasant, and her partisanship unmistakable, even when couched in the dispassionate language of international human rights law. Seated in a conference room before an audience of approximately forty, many of them fellow academics, Erakat began by noting that because this was “not a legal audience,” she would depart from her planned presentation and instead focus on “setting the framework for the lead-up” to the war and on providing “the legal and political context” for the situation in Gaza. These people are really sick.  Pacific Ocean off California Coast Turning into Desert-Like Dead Zone
(worldtruth.tv) ~ It’s anyone’s guess why temperatures in the Pacific Ocean are heating up off the coast of Southern California. Is a natural El Niño effect occurring, or is there something more sinister happening under the blue ocean waters... Off the coast of California, drastic signs of a rapidly changing Pacific Ocean are cropping up. Warmer currents have forced species of fish away from the coast. A massive fish migration, coupled with typical overfishing, has led to dwindling populations of key species like sardines, oysters, shellfish, scallops and krill. As the aquatic species move away from the coast in search of a better habitat, the sentinel California sea lion population is suffering. In fact, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reports that more than 3,000 sea lion pups have become stranded in 2015. The Marine Mammal Center is sending out veterinarians to rescue the stranded sea lions so they can be nursed back to health.        http://worldtruth.tv/pacific-ocean-off-california-coast-turning-into-desert-like-dead-zone/

Extortion 17 Parents Still Getting the Word Out About the Scandal
(Tim Brown) ~ Many of you are familiar with Billy and Karen Vaughn, parents of fallen Navy SEAL Aaron Vaughn who died on board Extortion 17 in Afghanistan on August 6, 2011... Well, as a result of the tragedy they faced in their lives, God has given them a platform to speak out on the corruption of this current administration across the nation. And they are still doing it! The Vaughns have been speaking to Tea Parties all across the country and they are looking to get into churches to speak to them as well. They have warned that the greatest threat to America resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Billy has pointed out the demoralization of the Special Forces under Barack nObama, as well as taken former Defense Secretary Robert Gates to task for his silence during his time in office, but cashing in when it came to a book he published.       http://freedomoutpost.com/2015/06/extortion-17-parents-still-getting-the-word-out-about-the-scandal-thats-bigger-than-benghazi/

While media blames Pamela Geller for 1,400 years of Jihad...
(themuslimissue.wordpress.com) ~ This is absolute insanity. Pamela Geller is being blamed for receiving Muslim death threats. Muslims have been threatening to behead people for 1,400 years, long before Pamela Geller ever existed... If the government doesn’t protect Geller – then they won’t protect anyone else either; your children, your family, your future, and the would deserve nothing but violent opposition. The vile and revolting dhimmitude the media has shown to this topic, trying to imply that Geller is somehow responsible for the attempted Texas attack shows how delusional people are about Islam. Pamela Geller did not invent Jihad. Jihad is 1,400 years old. It did not begin in Texas on May 3rd. Cartoons did not create Jihad. Islam created Jihad. There is nothing that we, non-Muslims, can do that does not offend Muslims. Being dressed without the black gallon sack is offensive to them. Democracy is offensive to them. Being friendly with each other, from different ages, genders, status is offensive to them. Celebrating Valentine’s to honor those you love is offensive to Muslims. Love is offensive to them. Freedom is offending them. America itself is deeply offensive to them. Women liberated to make up their own mind is offensive to them. If you don’t submit, surrender and permit Islam to rule over you – you are provoking Muslims and they are offended. In other words, every single non-Muslim and ex-Muslim provokes them and aggravates them, according to their way of seeing the world.      https://themuslimissue.wordpress.com/2015/06/13/while-media-blames-pamela-geller-for-1400-years-of-jihad-muslims-share-her-personal-address-on-twitter/

(jewishworldreview.com) ~ Noses went out of joint and knickers got in a twist when Israel's new deputy foreign minister delivered her inaugural speech to the Jewish state's diplomatic corps.
.
"We need to get back to the basic truth of our right to this land," said Tzipi Hotovely, who is running the foreign ministry's day-to-day operations, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu retains the title of foreign minister. The land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people, she declared, and their claim to it is as old as the Bible. "It's important to say this" when making Israel's case before the world, and not to focus solely on Israel's security interests. Of course security is a profound concern, Hotovely observed, but arguments grounded in justice, morality, and deep historical rights are stronger. She even quoted the medieval Jewish sage Rashi, who wrote that Genesis opens with God's creation of the world to preempt any subsequent charge that the Jewish claim to the land was without merit.
.
Needless to say, Hotovely's message was scorned on the left as primitive zealotry. "Her remarks raised eyebrows among many in the audience," the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported. One diplomat said his colleagues "were in shock" at the suggestion that they should cite the Torah when advocating for Israel abroad.
.
Diplomacy is not Bible class. Yet why should Israel and its envoys shrink from making the fullest defense of Jewish rights in what was always the Jewish homeland? Though modern Zionism didn't arise as a political movement until the 1800s, the land of Israel has always been at the core of Jews' national consciousness. Even during 19 centuries of exile, Jewish life in Israel (renamed "Palestine" by the Romans) never ceased. In all those years, no other people ever claimed the land as their country, or built it into their own nation-state.
.
Jewish sovereignty wasn't regained by downplaying the historical and religious bonds linking the Jews to the land. World leaders and opinion-makers didn't regard those links with patronizing disdain; many found them intensely compelling.
.
In 1891, alarmed by reports of Jews being massacred in Russia, hundreds of prominent Americans signed a petition urging the restoration of Palestine to Jewish rule. "According to G0D's distribution of nations it is their home, an inalienable possession from which they were expelled by force," declared the petition, among whose signatories were the chief justice of the Supreme Court, the speaker of the House of Representatives, future President William McKinley, and scores of influential industrialists, bankers, educators, and journalists. (One of them was Charles H. Taylor, the first publisher of the Boston Globe).
.
Twenty-five years later, when Britain famously committed itself to "the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people," its motives were not only strategic and pragmatic, but religious. Prime Minister David Lloyd George and Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour spoke feelingly of Jewish history. "I could tell you all the kings of Israel," Lloyd George said, recalling his school days, "but I doubt whether I could have named half a dozen of the kings of England."
.
President Woodrow Wilson, whose father was a Presbyterian minister, also endorsed the Zionist cause. "To think," he later exclaimed, "that I, the son of the manse, should be able to help restore the Holy Land to its people!" Still more enchanted with the revival of Jewish governance in the Jewish homeland was Harry Truman, whose lifelong study of the Bible strengthened his conviction that the Jews had a legitimate historical right to Palestine.
.
z_RAqhwMSebS5ExvmgHrZPvhRZPOaBYB7PlyipLWJuD6-iRSUQjJ4Vx1Qy4IhjrNw3zF5vTfmAv0Y9cYzITThnaE_5SpTV0e9Qo=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=
.
The immemorial Jewish bond with the land is even enshrined in international law. When the League of Nations set the terms of the Mandate for Palestine in 1922, it unanimously recognized "the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine" and the justice of "reconstituting their national home in that country." It was essential, wrote Winston Churchill at the time, to stress that the Jews were "in Palestine as of right and not on sufferance," and that the Jewish national home there "be formally recognized to rest upon ancient historic connection."
.
Israel has gained nothing from its unwillingness to vigorously assert the Jewish claim to the land as a matter of historical justice and biblical legitimacy. It has only made it easier for its enemies to promote a false narrative of Zionist aggression and illegal occupation. Hotovely may have "raised eyebrows" in exhorting Israel's diplomats to focus unapologetically on Jewish rights and history, but the record is clear: Those are the arguments that have always gained the most traction.
.
To repeat: Diplomacy isn't Bible class. But the strongest case for Israel is rooted in something more transcendent than security. Even now, according to the Pew Research Center, 44 percent of American adults — and 55 percent of American Christians — believe that Jews have a God-given right to the land of Israel. A backward superstition? On the contrary. The Jewish nation's ties to its homeland are an enduring element of the human story, and an asset that Israel underrates at its peril.
