Back in D.C., Obama’s harem spent Christmas Trying To Get Muslim Groups in the U.S. Off Terror List. via Shoebat.com.

For a President who was suddenly concerned with optics after media outlets juxtaposed images of his hitting the golf course while acknowledging news of journalist James Foley’s beheading with Foley’s grieving parents, Barack Obama doesn’t appear to have learned from it. While vacationing in Hawaii, Obama hit the links again, only this time on Christmas eve with a staunch Islamist who last year defended ISIS and supports Sharia law in his country.
With Islam’s contempt for the Christmas holiday, the shamefulness of Obama’s chosen golf partner was amplified by the timing. It’s an issue of tolerance and sensitivity when applying Obama’s own public standard. Predictably, NPR reported on the event but missed the significance:
What do two world leaders do when they find themselves on the same Hawaiian island on Christmas Eve? If you’re President Barack Obama and Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, you round up a few aides and make common cause on the golf course.
Both vacationing this week in Oahu, Obama and Najib teed off Wednesday on a cloudy but balmy afternoon at a Marine Corps base, not far from where Obama is renting a home for his two-week stay. The two leaders seemed at ease together, smiling and laughing in casual clothes as they sized up their shots.
About halfway through the round, the media was uncharacteristically permitted to watch the pairing play a hole. Their poor showings notwithstanding, Obama had to have known he was slapping Christians in the face with what he said, considering who he was with:
Media access to Obama’s golf games is typically restricted, but reporters and photographers were permitted to briefly watch the two leaders Wednesday about halfway through their game. Neither leader was having particularly good luck with their short game.
Up first to finish the hole, Najib came up short with his putt. Obama crouched low to line up his shot, but the ball tilted left and evaded the hole. After another failed attempt, he picked up the ball and called it quits. Najib, too, missed his next shot, but a gracious Obama gave him a pat on the shoulder and praised his golf game just the same.
“Merry Christmas,” Obama said as he waved to the media.
Islamic fundamentalists have contempt for Christmas. Consider that Malaysia and Indonesia are neighboring countries that share similar cultures and are both majority Muslim. As Shoebat.com reported recently, Indonesia has been cracking down on Christians who say “Merry Christmas” in that country. In some places, it’s illegal.
The truth is that if Americans knew or cared about Najib’s background, the optics of Obama playing golf with him on Christmas eve would be outrageous. As someone who stressed that he needs to be more careful about optics, Obama must know this.
He must also have known that saying, “Merry Christmas” to the media while doing so was a slap in the face to Christians. Unfortunately, American Christians either don’t get it or don’t care.
By Alex Pappas. Sixty percent of Republican voters would prefer that John Boehner not be elected speaker of the House next week, according to a new poll moving around conservative circles Friday.
The poll — conducted by Caddell Associates and commissioned by the People’s Poll — shows just 25 percent of Republicans supporting Boehner’s re-election in the formal vote on the House floor.
Fifteen-percent of those polled said they don’t know or are undecided about Boehner. The poll surveyed 602 Republican voters and independents who lean Republican and voted GOP in 2014.
The official speaker’s election is set for Jan. 6, when the House will convene for a public floor vote to open the new Congress. (Read more on why voters want John Boehner replaced HERE)

Too Little, Too Late? John Boehner Tries to Regain Some Support, Criticizes Obama’s Afghanistan Strategy
By Philip Ewing. Early warning signs in Afghanistan show that President Barack Obama’s withdrawal strategy there is already foundering, House Speaker John Boehner charged on Tuesday.
“Has President Obama not learned from his mistakes in Iraq?” the Ohio Republican asked in a statement.
The speaker’s office released a number of excerpts from news reports describing an increase in combat deaths in Afghanistan, areas of territory lost to the Taliban and the comparative weakness of the Afghan National Security Forces without American help. The U.S. troop pullout is premature, Boehner charged, and a “formal” end to the conflict does not mean it’s actually over. (Read more from this story HERE)

By Matt Vespa. As Jeb Bush makes moves that could signal a 2016 presidential run, he has the conservative wing of the Republican Party either rolling their eyes or seething in anger. Besides policy, I can see why some voters think that it’s getting a bit old that only a Bush or a Clinton are seen as the only options to win the presidency. Moreover, both of their respective political parties have moved either more conservative or progressive since the last time a member of their families occupied the White House. Right now, Bush has a 25 percent chance of winning the GOP nomination.
Nate Silver asked if Bush was too liberal to win. In short, he found that Jeb’s more conservative than Jon Huntsman, but not as conservative as his brother, former President George W. Bush; he’s more like Bush 41. (Read more about Jeb Bush’s chances of winning the nomination HERE)

A Tricky Problem for Jeb Bush
By Philip Klein. In 2007, during a Democratic presidential debate in Iowa, candidate Barack Obama was asked how he would be able to deliver change when so many of his former advisers came from the Clinton administration. The moment became famous because the question prompted a loud and sustained cackle from his rival for the nomination, Hillary Clinton, who teased, “I wanna hear that.”
In the end, Obama got the best of the exchange, by quickly shooting back, “Hillary, I’m looking forward to you advising me as well.” The clip, which went viral at the time, enjoyed new life when Clinton was named as Obama’s secretary of state.
I was reminded of the moment when reflecting on how former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush could confront a tricky problem should he run for president (which is looking increasingly likely).
The issue that Obama faced when he was running for president was that if he wanted experienced advisers, especially on foreign policy, it was only natural that he’d have to dip into the talent pool of seasoned veterans who served in a prior Democratic administration — and Bill Clinton was the only Democratic president since Jimmy Carter left office in 1981.
Similarly, on the Republican side heading into the next presidential election, candidates will look to former staffers in the George W. Bush administration to fill out their teams. But this creates an especially thorny issue for Jeb. (Read more from this story HERE)

By Jazz Shaw. Welcome to 2015, with the usual hopes for new beginnings and fresh starts. Along with that, there is the expected flood of new laws going into effect all across the nation as proof of the various legislative bodies getting the work of the people done. The people of California in particular will see the fruits of their elected officials’ labors if they show up at the DMV. (As if the lines weren’t long enough already.) Millions of illegal immigrants will now be able to show up without fear of arrest or deportation and get themselves a shiny new driver’s license.
If you needed any further proof of exactly how far the immigration situation in the country has deteriorated, California has joined several other states in completely throwing in the towel here. It’s long been established that driving is a privilege, not a right, and that privilege can be taken away for any of a number of offenses which include driving while impaired, failing to obtain proper registration, inspection and insurance documents or just running too many stop signs. But not, it seems, for violating the nation’s borders, entering illegally, failing to pay taxes or the rest of the fundamental rules under our system of laws which are broken daily by illegal aliens.
There are some minor arguments in favor of of the plan, I admit. Foreign visitors don’t always know the rules of the road in America, so teaching them the proper driving practices might cut down slightly on accidents. But does that advantage come anywhere near overriding the obvious arguments against this? Also, in addition to legitimizing the activities of those who are not legitimate citizens, a piece of identification such as a license if a powerful talisman. True, these new, “special” licenses have a disclaimer on them which indicates that they are not valid as federal identification, but how many people will initially be trained to be aware of the distinction? (Read more about the driver’s licenses to illegal aliens HERE)

More than 90 Percent of a Illegal Aliens Group Never Showed Up to Their Immigration Hearings
By Mark Krikorian. Once again, local-TV investigative reporters are showing up their national counterparts.
Recall that this summer the administration insisted the thousands of Central American illegal immigrants it was waving across the border would be put into deportation proceedings and those who did not qualify for asylum would be removed. You’d think, then, that there’d be bigshot D.C. journalists interested in finding out how many actually bothered to attend their immigration hearings.
You’d be wrong. . .
Looking at the completed cases of people who snuck over the border and were released over a three-month period, the reporter found that more than 90 percent of them didn’t show up for their immigration hearings and joined the illegal population. Surprise! (Read more from this story HERE)

Several counties in Florida have put the kibosh on performing any weddings as a sort of duck and dodge against serving gays — the logic being that clerks with religious objections to homosexual marriage aren’t breaking any laws if they don’t offer services to anyone.
Among the counties taking part in the quasi-protest: Duval, Clay and Baker, The Associated Press reported.
[Due to a federal judge’s twisted reading of the US Constitution,] Florida’s ban on same-sex marriage expires in the coming days, but rather than abide by the new cultural order, clerks — in conjunction with other county officials — have announced the discontinuance of courthouse wedding services for all, AP said.
“It was decided as a team, as an office, this would be what we do so that there wouldn’t be any discrimination,” Duval County Clerk of Courts Ronnie Fussell told The Florida Times-Union. “The easiest way is to not do them at all.”
He also said that marriage “is between a man and a woman” and that “personally, it would go against my beliefs to perform a ceremony that is other than that,” AP reported. (Read about the courthouses stop all weddings to avoid marrying homosexuals HERE)

Over forty years ago I remember sitting in front of the family TV on Sundays. I was quite struck by the commitment and preaching of the TV Evangelousts of the time. They always seemed so upset about the way they saw the nation headed.
I remember the preechers saying over and over again that God would not bless our nation if we turned away from him. He had always been there for us. At Valley Forge with Washington, at the signing of the emancipation Proclamation, the dark days of WW1 and WW2. He always guided and blessed America.
Now our schools have closed the door to him. Not even a moment of silence anymore to give thanks. Not even a Christmas tree anymore. Homosexuality and other sins against God are openly promoted to the students both very young and older. In most cases the name of Jesus Christ in banned from mention at all in our schools. The silent holocaust has killed over 50 million unborn babies through abortion murder!.Yes, the abominations to God are many.
Just a short time ago a Muslim Imam opened the Congress with a prayer to Allah. I would have walked out but our politicians stayed! It seems the Islamic God is now ok to promote in America by the state, but not the true and loving God of Abraham the bible and Jesus Christ.
Our nation has surely fallen under Gods judgment now. We can look around us and open our ears to hear and our eyes to see. Our nation is sick with perversion and self worship. Our leaders are robbers and seek self and money. Many have turned their back on God.
The Evangelists I saw on TV many years ago warned many times this could happen. And it did. There is little time left for America now. We have but a short time to try and turn back to God and Bring back our beloved America. Soon the full wrath of god shall be upon this nation if we do not turn around. America the beautiful will turn ugly and perish.

(city-journal.org) - Citing unspecified concerns about health and the environment, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced this month that fracking (hydraulic fracturing) for natural gas is now banned in New York State. Some observers thought the governor might allow test drilling because economic growth from fracking in neighboring Pennsylvania has proved a boon. Though Cuomo seemed to distance himself (“I am not a scientist”) from the issue, a pro-fracking decision was never in the cards.
Winners in New York’s farewell to fracking include the OSI and its allies in the ecology land-acquisition movement. The governor’s decision means the price of prime real estate in the Southern Tier will not spike. The vast supply of natural gas beneath the surface can only be commercially accessed by fracking. The land will therefore be worth much less than it would otherwise. Other winners include environmentalists who remain committed to costly, unreliable wind and solar power. They oppose clean, cheap, abundant natural gas, which tends to liberate consumers from environmental watchdogs.
Also on the winners list is Saudi Arabia, which is currently allowing oil prices to fall, a market-testing maneuver known in the petroleum business as “sweating.” A lower price for oil can sweat competing energy producers out of business. So far, the natural gas industry has weathered the economic pressure, but anything that reduces supply—such as New York’s fracking ban—is welcome news in the global energy field, not only to the Saudis but also to Russia. As the New York Times reported earlier this month, Russia is using intimidation and anti-fracking demonstrations to maintain its stranglehold on Europe’s energy supply. Whether Russia is bankrolling anti-fracking organizations in the U.S. is unknown.Having convinced Albany that craps and blackjack equal economic development, the gaming industry is a winner, as well. On the same day the fracking decision was announced, a state board approved three new casinos in New York. Notably, none will be located in the struggling Southern Tier. Schenectady, a once-great manufacturing center, and two other locations in New York State will get glittering new “destination gaming resorts.” Despite growing evidence that casinos are a losing bet—so far this year, four casinos have closed in Atlantic City and a fifth is on life support—New York has decided to roll the dice on gambling and ignore its own data on the benefits of fracking.

What we have now is a war on police officers being waged by nothing-to-lose street thugs, supported by liberals and being led by thug generals Obama, Holder and Sharpton.
It is nothing less than that.
Street thugs, who have no respect for life, not even their own, stand to gain street creds if they can kill a cop. To them, it’s a game. A disgusting and fatal game. Remember the knock out game? Black punk bastards sucker-punching unsuspecting white people who were minding their own business and rendering them unconscious?
That’s so last year. That was then, this is now and the targets are the cops. No fists…just bullets. Ambush the cops, kill one and you’re the king of the block.
Supported by liberals?
Naturally.
Young liberals, the same pond scum that believes it to be criminal to deprive a terrorist of beauty sleep or pour water over their faces are now marching through our streets hollering “WHAT DO WE WANT? DEAD COPS!!! WHEN DO WE WANT EM? NOW!!!
Murdering cops…fine and dandy to the street liberals. Making a terrorist uncomfortable? CRIMINAL they say.
Led by thug generals…Obama…Holder and Sharpton?
(The Wall Street Journal) If a change in policy is in the American national interest, then it is a good idea. If it is not, then it is a bad idea, and something we should not do.
In another era that would be so obvious as not to bear repeating. But seeing to our national interests (just as we expect other nations to see to theirs) has been rather lost along the way by our leaders the past dozen years, and now sounds almost touchingly quaint.
But with that guiding principle, some questions on establishing new and closer ties with Cuba:
Was it ever in our nation’s interests to have, 90 miles off our shore, an avowed and active enemy?
No.
Is it now in our nation’s interests to have, 90 miles off our shore, an avowed and active enemy?
No.
Is it in the national interest to attempt to change this circumstance, if only gradually and hopefully, but with a sense that breaking the status quo might yield rewards?
Yes. If the new policy succeeds and leaves an old foe less active and avowed we will be better off, and it’s always possible, life being surprising, that we’ll be much better off. If the policy fails we’ll be no worse off than we were and can revert back to the old order, yanking out our embassy and re-erecting old barriers.
Great nations are like people. We get in habits of affection and enmity. What is needed is a practice of detached realism. Sometimes those for whom you have affection are disappointing. Sometimes those toward whom you feel enmity are, you realize, an essentially defeated foe, and a new attitude might be constructive. The key is to keep eyes sharp for changed situations, and adapt.
Fidel Castro is a bad man who took an almost-paradise and turned it into a floating prison. In replacing a dictatorship whose corruption was happily leavened by incompetence, he created a communist totalitarian state that made everything in his country worse. He robbed it of wealth, beauty and potential freedom. He was also a thorn and a threat to the United States, which he hated and moved against in myriad ways. He did all this for more than half a century.
Soon he will die, and his brother supposedly has taken his place. That is a changed situation.
Normalizing relations with Cuba will not, as Sen. Marco Rubio passionately put it in these pages, grant the Castro regime “legitimacy.”
Nothing can grant it legitimacy.
Fidel Castro ruined his country for a dead ideology and the whole world knows it. It may be closer to the truth to see the Castro brothers’ eagerness for normalization as an admission that they’ve run out their string. They’ve lost everything that kept them alive, from the Soviet Union to once-oil-rich Venezuela. The Castro government is stuck. Their economy is nothing. They have no strength. They enjoy vestigial respect from certain quarters, but only vestigial. They’ve lost and they know it.
So why not move now?
Nothing magical will immediately follow normalization. The Castro brothers will not say, “I can’t believe it, free markets and democracy really are better, I had no idea!” Nothing will make Cuba democratic overnight. But American involvement and presence—American tourists and businessmen, American diplomats, American money, American ways and technology—will likely in time have a freeing effect. With increased contact a certain amount of good feeling will build. And that could make Cuba, within a generation or even less, a friend.
And that would be good for the American national interest, because it’s better to have a friend 90 miles away than an active and avowed enemy.
The opening to Cuba may also spark a re-Christianizing effect among a people who’ve been denied freedom of religious worship for generations. That would be good too, for them and us.
There is no reason to believe increased engagement between America and Cuba would encourage a post-Castro government to be more antagonistic or aggressive toward the U.S. More movement and commerce, including media presence, will not give that government more motive to embarrass itself by abusing and oppressing its people. As for the military, it wouldn’t be long, with lifted embargoes, before captains in the Cuban army found out what managers in the new Hilton were making, and jumped into hotel services.
With a real opening, including lifted embargoes, all the pressure year by year would be toward more back-and-forth, greater prosperity, and more freedom squeaking in by Internet and television.
In a rising Cuba all the pressure will be toward freedom. It will not be toward dictatorship.
In America, attention has rightly been paid to the Cuban-Americans of Florida and their reaction. They were cruelly displaced by the communist regime and forced to flee Cuba. They lost everything, came here penniless, and through gifts and guts rose to economic and political power. The oldest, who came in 1960, feel bitterness—and are loyal to that bitterness. Their children, a little less so, and the next generation less still. Because everything changes. You can’t let a foreign policy be governed by bitterness even when that bitterness is legitimate. Advice to the U.S. government: Attempt in time to create some kind of U.S.-Cuban framework whereby those whose property was expropriated can reclaim it.
President nObama’s opening seems so far cleverly done and well wired. He has major cover from the involvement of the most popular pope in recorded history, and also from the government of Canada, an ever-popular country whose prime minister, the sturdy, steady Stephen Harper , is the most quietly effective head of government in the Northern Hemisphere.
It is to be stipulated that the particulars of the deal will prove, on inspection, to be unimpressive, because Mr nObama was the negotiator. Fair enough, but he said when he first ran for president, in 2008, that he hoped for a new kind of engagement with Cuba, and he is producing it.
Something to watch out for: When an administration goes all in on a controversial policy it tends to spend most of its follow-up time not making sure the policy works but proving, through occasionally specious data and assertions, that it was the right policy. All who judge how the new opening proceeds will have to factor that in and see past it.
A closing note: I always thought, life often being unfair, that Fidel Castro would die the death of a happy monster, old, in bed, a cigar jutting out from the pillows, a brandy on the bedside table. My dream the past few years was that this tranquil end would be disturbed by this scene: American tourists jumping up and down outside his window, snapping pictures on their smartphones. American tourists flooding the island, befriending his people, doing business with them, showing in their attitude and through a million conversations which system is, actually, preferable. Castro sees them through the window. He grits his teeth so hard the cigar snaps off. Money and sentiment defeat his life’s work. He leaves the world knowing that in history’s great game, he lost.
Open the doors, let America flood the zone and snap those pictures. “Fidel! Look this way!” Snap. Flash. Gone.

Is it not already too late? via Refusing the Islamization of France | Gates of Vienna.

How nice, with Islamists is a choice
The two most prominent French Counterjihad groups are planning to use the model of PEGIDA in Germany to organize a series of rallies against the Islamization of France. Many thanks to Oz-Rita for translating this press release from Riposte Laique and Resistance Republicaine:
The situation worsens from day to day in France and in the world, where Islamists multiply their attacks and barbaric acts. In a video, the jihadists of IS asked the Muslims of France to strike the infidels, specifically to run them over with cars, or to slit their throats with knives. The dramatic events in Joué-les-Tours, Dijon and Nantes demonstrated that these calls could be heard. Denying this evidence, the government tries systematically to pass off the terrorists as “unbalanced” or “lone wolves”. The people of France cannot wait passively and put up with these acts of violence.
So we propose to initiate what should become a succession of rallies and patriotic demonstrations, a popular movement in the image of PEGIDA in Germany, a movement which rallies all individuals, associations, political parties… marking the refusal of the Islamisation of our country with all its consequences. We give you a rendezvous on Sunday 18 January, Place de la Bourse, at 2:30pm for a first meeting during which different speakers, French and European, will address us, speakers who are aware of the deadly danger awaiting our compatriots and will demand that all Islamists be driven out of France.

By Fares Akram. Gaza’s Hamas rulers prevented a group of children from entering Israel on Sunday for a postwar conciliatory trip meant to foster peace, Hamas and organizers said.
The 37 children, most of whom have lost a parent in fighting between Hamas and Israel, were to enter Israel on Sunday and spend a week visiting Jewish and Arab communities and a zoo. They were also going to travel to the West Bank for a meeting with the Palestinian president.
But a bus carrying the children and their adult chaperones was turned back when it reached the main crossing between Gaza and Israel. Hamas spokesman Eyad Bozum said the decision was made “to protect the culture of our children and our people” from normalizing relations with Israel. He said Hamas would make sure such a trip “will never happen again”. . .
Yoel Marshak, an Israeli organizer, said the visit was meant to a show a positive side of Israel and promote peace. (Read more on why Hamas stopped Palestinian children from their Israel peace trip HERE)

UAW Teachers Branch Joins Israel Boycott
By Sean Higgins. A local branch of the United Auto Workers has become the first U.S. labor organization to join the international movement to boycott Israel, according to liberal groups.
UAW Local 2865, which represents teaching assistants at the University of California, voted to join it on Dec. 4, saying that Israel was engaging in “ongoing human rights violations” against the Palestinians.
A total of 66 percent of the members backed joining the movement, which supporters call “Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions against Israel.” Only 2,168 members participated in the Dec. 4 vote, a small fraction of Local 2865’s reported 13,000 members.
The ballot language asked members to support the boycott and to call on both the university and the UAW to join in by “divest[ing] their investments, including pension funds, from Israeli state institutions and international companies complicit in severe and ongoing human rights violations as part of the Israeli oppression of Palestinian people.” It also called on UAW and the university not to do business with any such companies and for the federal government to end economic aid to the country. A Kansas school blocked a seventh-grader from handing out fliers inviting students to join her in prayer at the school’s flagpole.
Fox News senior judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano called the school’s ban “so obviously wrong and misguided,” noting that students “theoretically” have the same constitutional rights as anyone else.
“Schools can restrain speech if the speech is disruptive,” Napolitano said. “But when the speech is not disruptive and when it’s especially protected by the Constitution, like speech about religion or speech about non-religion, they cannot interfere with it.”
The school issued a statement to Fox News outlining its policy, which prohibits the distribution of religious material on school property before, during and after the school day.
Napolitano says this is unconstitutional unless the school can show that the “mere distribution” interferes with school activity. Napolitano does not believe it has done so. (Read more about the child who was stopped from handing out fliers for religious event HERE)
