A Pew Research Center report shows that the wealth gap between America’s middle and upper-income families is the widest ever recorded.

In fact, the median wealth of America’s most affluent families is nearly seven times that of their middle-income countrymen. . .

The chart below shows the wealth gap between upper- and middle-income households over the last 30 years:

As if that’s not bad enough, America’s upper-income families have a median net worth that’s 70 times greater than lower-income families.

Meanwhile, net income has remained dismal for years now. It’s no surprise that most Americans aren’t feeling the effects of the economic recovery… after all, median income is still 8% lower than in 2007, just before the recession. (Read more about the widest wealth gap ever recorded HERE)

For the first time on record, more non-Mexicans than Mexicans were apprehended at U.S. borders in 2014 by the Border Patrol, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of more than 60 years of Border Patrol data. This shift is another sign that unauthorized immigrants from Mexico are crossing the U.S.-Mexico border significantly less often than they did before the Great Recession.

U.S. Border apprehensions of Mexicans fall to historic lowsAbout 229,000 Mexicans were apprehended by the Border Patrol in fiscal year 2014 compared with 257,000 non-Mexicans during the previous year, according to recently published Border Patrol data. Taken together, total apprehensions of Mexican and non-Mexican unauthorized immigrants (more than 486,000) were up 16% over the previous year.

chart

These numbers are dramatically different than in 2007 when Mexican apprehensions totaled 809,000, compared with just 68,000 non-Mexicans. The number of Mexican immigrants apprehended at the border peaked at 1.6 million in 2000, the Pew Research analysis showed. The last time Mexican apprehensions were as low as they are now was in 1970 when 219,000 Mexicans were apprehended. In 1970, non-Mexican apprehensions totaled just 12,000.

The recent increase in non-Mexican apprehensions is due in part to a surge in unaccompanied Central American child migrants crossing the border without their parents. In fiscal year 2014, nearly 52,000 unaccompanied children from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras were apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border, more than double the total from the previous year, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data. By contrast, the number of unaccompanied Mexican children apprehended slightly declined over the same time period, from 17,000 to 16,000. Cop_shot_002.jpgIn another bloody attack on New York’s Finest, two cops were shot by robbers in The Bronx Monday night — and a massive manhunt was underway for at least one suspect early Tuesday.

Officers Andrew Dossi and Aliro Pellarano — who had just finished their shift but came back on to respond to the robbery — were among a group of officers who encountered the gunmen at a Chinese restaurant on Tiebout Avenue at about 10:30 p.m., according to law enforcement sources.

Two suspects were inside the restaurant when the plainclothes cops confronted them. One suspect opened fire as he walked out of the eatery and the other fired shots through the window, leaving Dossi and Pellarano wounded.

The suspects then fled the scene on foot and an exchanged gunfire wit other cops at 184th Street and Tiebout Avenue.

Witnesses said they heard a series of gunshots near the location. (Read more about the NYPD officers shot HERE)

 GOP Sets New Year Agenda
As members of the 114th Congress take their seats Tuesday with the GOP in majority in both chambers, the Republican Party will begin the session by trying to approve the Keystone XL pipeline and changing the nObamaCare definition of full-time work to 40 hours a week instead of 30 -- issues that have bipartisan support. A House aide, who serves Republican leadership, told The New York Times, "The Senate will be ground zero," as the GOP still has to persuade four Democrats to vote with them to reach 60 votes to send legislation to Barack nObama's executive pen. Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) wants to reform the failed educational policy No Child Left Behind, a move that would essentially reduce the federal government's meddling with state and local school boards. But while senators are anticipating a bipartisan political game and plotting governing moves, there is infighting in the House. At least nine GOP representatives will make a show of voting against backstabber John Boehner as House Speaker because he did not stand up to the president and agreed to fund nObama's executive immigration decrees until February.  Al Sharpton: Shakedown Artist
For years, it hasn't been enough for Al Sharpton to simply pontificate about racial issues. No, that's not how a 21st century race-baiter operates. According to the New York Post, the self-appointed spokesman on race issues has for years made a nasty habit of threatening American companies: pay him in money or power -- or else. "For more than a decade, corporations have shelled out thousands of dollars in donations and consulting fees to Sharpton's National Action Network," the Post writes. "What they get in return is the reverend's supposed sway in the black community or, more often, his silence. ... 'Al Sharpton has enriched himself and NAN for years by threatening companies with bad publicity if they didn't come to terms with him. Put simply, Sharpton specializes in shakedowns,' said Ken Boehm, chairman of the National Legal & Policy Center, a Virginia-based watchdog group that has produced a book on Sharpton." In other words, Sharpton is not a principled defender of civil rights. The only color he really cares about is green. More...   -The Patriot Post

NYPD Expands Protest of NYC Mayor
In response to allegations of police racism made by New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, the city's police have turned their backs (literally) on the mayor at the funerals for slain NYPD officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos -- even when Police Commissioner William Bratton asked the force to respect the ceremonies. NYPD is also on a working strike, as the department has virtually stopped enforcing traffic laws, making drug arrests and, in the words of one NYPD supervisor, "only making arrests when they have to." De Blasio brought this backlash on himself with his outrageous racism accusations. But as Red State's Leon Wolf writes, the actions of the NYPD create a "dangerous precedent" if future politicians ever want to cut the bloated bureaucracy of government. There are other ways for the NYPD to petition de Blasio for a redress of grievances that do not endanger the public or disrupt a memorial to a fallen law enforcement officer.  Border Patrol Detains More Non-Mexicans Than Mexicans
According to the Pew Research Center, the number of Mexicans illegally crossing the U.S. border has dropped dramatically since the Great Recession. Thanks in part to the rise of unaccompanied alien children from Central America, the number of people detained by Border Patrol who are not from Mexico is now greater than the number of people coming from our immediate southern neighbor. Pew reports, "About 229,000 Mexicans were apprehended by the Border Patrol in fiscal year 2014 compared with 257,000 non-Mexicans during the previous year, according to recently published Border Patrol data. Taken together, total apprehensions of Mexican and non-Mexican unauthorized immigrants (more than 486,000) were up 16% over the previous year." Overall, the number of illegal immigrants is down from its high in 2000, when 1.6 million illegal immigrants crossed the border. nObama, so far, has inadvertently fixed the immigration issue because few people want to live in a nation destroyed by his economic policies. However, an upturn in the economy combined with his amnesty will change that. More...  -The Patriot Post

A Good Year for Gun Rights
In the aftermath of the horrific murders at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December 2012, gun grabbers led by Sen. Dianne Feinstein pushed hard to enact "sensible gun control." Fortunately, at the national level at least, they were unsuccessful in restoring things like the ban on so-called "assault weapons." And even better, Second Amendment proponents were able to advance gun rights in several states. To name a few victories, Idaho, Georgia and Indiana expanded the number of places where concealed carry is permitted, Missouri now permits teachers to carry firearms and the Ninth Circuit Court struck down California's "just cause" concealed carry requirement. All this while more and more Americans are buying guns. Clearly, we should never let down our guard (see the UN's anti-gun treaty as an example), but there is reason for optimism as Liberty advances.  -The Patriot Post

Fallen US Marine’s Father returns nObama’s Condolence Letter
(By Tim Brown) - This past week, the US commander of NATO declared the end of the mission against the Taliban in Afghanistan. nObama followed up with a statement declaring... “Our combat mission in Afghanistan is ending and the longest war in American history is coming to a responsible conclusion.”  However, I want to take the opportunity to remind people of what Barack nObama has done that has resulted in the deaths of many of our men who serve in the armed forces. Steven R. Hogan, father of fallen US Marine Lance Corporal Hunter D. Hogan took the condolence letter he received from Barack nObama and wrote with his own hand the following:       http://sonsoflibertymedia.com/2015/01/fallen-us-marines-father-returns-obamas-condolence-letter-incredible-rebuke/

Major 11th Hour Victory for Israel at the UN
(By Jay Sekulow) - We’ve been raising the alarm about this dangerous resolution over the past few weeks. The nObama Administration was on the verge of abandoning our ally Israel...making noncommittal statements about its intentions to vote on the resolution. The U.S. typically avoids contentious votes on such outlandish resolutions strongly declaring its opposition, often avoiding a vote at all.  The nObama Administration’s confusing and tentative at best statements about this resolution sent a dangerous signal to the rest of the world that America may be willing to abandon its ally Israel.       http://aclj.org/israel/major-11th-hour-victory-for-israel-at-un

Not enough votes to end the U.S. embargo on Cuba
(By Silvio Canto, Jr.) - Raúl Castro did not earn any goodwill with his speeches or arrests in Cuba since President nObama's announcement. On the contrary...Raul Castro's behavior is confirming that lifting the Cuba embargo without major concessions is very bad policy indeed. Lifting the embargo will require 218 votes in the House and 60 in the U.S. Senate. It's hard to see how Congress, specially a U.S. House with almost 250 GOP members, will agree to lifting the embargo without a bit more from Cuba than "Thank you nObama."       http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2015/01/prediction_not_enough_votes_to_end_the_us_embargo_on_cuba.html#ixzz3NqowssYb

Al Nusrah Front attacks Hezbollah position on Lebanese border
(By Caleb Weiss) - The Al Nusrah Front, al Qaeda's official branch in Syria, launched an attack on Hezbollah positions near the Syrian town of Flita along the Lebanese border yesterday...According to The Daily Star, a Lebanese publication, four Hezbollah fighters and five Syrian regime fighters were killed in the assault. The number of casualties on Al Nusrah's side is not immediately clear, but Reuters quoted Lebanese and Syrian sources that said "15 members of Al Qaeda's wing were killed." This tally is not confirmed and Al Nusrah has not released any information on its casualties. Hezbollah, which is Iran's proxy in Lebanon, has sent thousands of troops to Syria in order to assist the Assad regime. The group has fought alongside regime forces against various rebel groups, including Al Nusrah and the Islamic State. Hezbollah has also clashed with Al Nusrah and elements of the Islamic State over the border in Lebanon. In August 2014, the rival groups fought in the Lebanese border town of Arsal. A few months later, Al Nusrah and Hezbollah battled again in Lebanon, this time in Brital.       http://www.longwarjournal.org/threat-matrix/archives/2015/01/al_nusrah_front_attacks_hezbol.php?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+LongWarJournalSiteWide+%28The+Long+War+Journal+%28Site-Wide%29%29

 The Unspectacular NOW!
(By Kevin D. Williamson) - Time is running out to do something stupid and irreversible. Act now! “Now,” especially when followed by an exclamation point, or written in all capital letters, or both — Now! — is the least conservative word in the English language... “We must act now,” proclaims a gentleman bearing the appropriately apocalyptic name of “Flood” in the letters section of the Times-Argus of Vermont. The subject is global warming: “It is unjust and immoral for us to leave a damaged and hostile world to our children. We need to act now.” From Flood to exodus: “Act now or homeless could move to San Francisco,” warns a writer in Chico, Calif., and I am just enough of a crusty old right-winger to wonder what the downside is for Chico in that case.       http://www.nationalreview.com/article/395637/unspectacular-now-kevin-d-williamson

A vote for Boehner is vote for nObama
(Joseph Farah) - Tomorrow 247 Republicans will determine who the next House speaker will be. The speaker of the House is the second most powerful position in Washington...If there is to be any meaningful opposition to Barack nObama’s agenda in his last two years in office, it will require the House speaker to provide it. It’s as simple as this, now that Rep. Louie Gohmert, an honest, straightforward, principled conservative, has thrown his hat into the ring: Who would provide better leadership of the House – Boehner or Gohmert?       http://www.wnd.com/2015/01/a-vote-for-boehner-is-vote-for-obama/
nObamacare's Annus Horribilis
Michelle Malkin

(frontpagemag.com) - There's no candy coating the truth: nObamacare has had a very terrible, horrible, crappy, none-too-happy year. What it really means is that the victims of nObamacare -- taxpayers, health care consumers, health care providers, employers and employees -- have had a hellish, nightmarish 2014.

Let's start with premiums. President Candy Land promised that he'd "lower premiums by up to $2,500 for a typical family per year." But premiums for people in the individual market for health insurance have spiked over the last year. In fact, Forbes health policy journalist Avik Roy and the Manhattan Institute analyzed 3,137 counties and found that individual market premiums rose an average of 49 percent.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services itself admitted this month that average premiums will rise at least five percent for the lowest-cost plans offered by federal nObamacare health care exchanges. Democrats' reaction? nObamacare rate shock doesn't matter ... because government is redistributing the burden and taxpayers are footing the bill! HHS crowed this week that nearly 90 percent of exchange enrollees received public subsidies in order to pay their premiums.

"Affordable" doesn't mean what White House truth-warpers says it means -- just like everything else they've spewed about the doomed federal takeover of health policy in America.

As the White House tries to hype year-end enrollment numbers and hide nObamacare-imposed cancellations, just remember that the administration got caught this fall cooking the books by including 380,000 dental plan subscribers that have never been counted before. Innocent oopsie? The "erroneous" inflation just happened to push the nObamacare enrollment figures over the president's 7 million goal, while fudging the attrition of more than 1 million enrolled in nObamacare medical insurance plans.

A "mistake was made," HHS 'fessed up after GOP investigators discovered the Common Core math antics. Lying liars. Caught red-handed.

So, how about: "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor?" Well, not if he or she isn't practicing anymore. After scoffing at conservative warnings for years that socialized medicine-light would create doctor shortages, nObamacare cheerleaders can no longer whitewash the grim reality. The Physicians Foundation found that 81 percent of doctors believe they are "either overextended or at full capacity." Another 44 percent said they "planned to cut back on the number of patients they see, retire, work part-time or close their practice to new patients."

Analysts on all sides of the debate agree that massive cuts in Medicaid payments to primary care doctors, which take effect on Jan. 1, will reduce patient access. Meanwhile, a Commonwealth Fund survey found that 26 percent of American adults waited six days or more to see a doctor -- with only Canada and Norway performing worse. A separate physicians' staffing company's poll, reported by the left-wing New York Times, found that patients "waited an average of 29 days nationally to see a dermatologist, 66 days to have a physical in Boston and 32 days for a heart evaluation by a cardiologist in Washington."

Translation: If you like your doctor, it doesn't mean you'll get to see your doctor. Tick, tick, tick.

How about nObama's pledge to lower costs? A Congressional Budget Office reported earlier this year that implementation will cost taxpayers $2 trillion over the next decade. That's just the direct costs. nObamacare's job-killing regulations continue to discourage businesses from expanding and force more bosses to slash hours to avoid the employer mandate.

Based on estimates by Harvard and University of Chicago economists, health care policy analyst John Goodman concludes that the "indirect cost to the economy ... equals more than $8,000 per household per year -- or four times the size of the direct budget outlays."

This includes the tax on innovation. As I've reported over the last four years, nObamacare's reviled medical-device tax has forced companies to cut back on research and development, in addition to catalyzing layoffs of at least 33,000 workers over the past year. A recent study by the New York Federal Reserve found that half of the state's medical device manufacturers were bracing for "considerably" higher health care costs as a result of nObamacare rules. These include "higher deductibles, increased copays, higher out-of-pocket maximums and an increased employee contribution to the premium."

Who's "stupid" now? The fallout from intrepid Philadelphia investment adviser and citizen researcher Rich Weinstein's exposure of nObamacare architect/deceiver Jonathan Gruber has only just begun. Far worse than Gruber's insult of American voters, Weinstein notes, is the annual $250 billion tax grab at the heart of Gruber and Company's scheme. nObamacare's so-called "Cadillac tax" on expensive health plans was purposely "mislabeled," Gruber said in video uncovered by Weinstein, in order to pass a tax that will eventually hit all employer plans.

Separately, insurers have been lobbying for a total taxpayer bailout of an estimated $1 billion in 2014. Meanwhile, beleaguered nObamacare non-profit "co-ops" that were supposed to lower costs have sucked up $2 billion in loans to date and hundreds of millions more in emergency solvency funding this year.

The worst is yet to come. Before the midterms, panicked and politically driven nObama bureaucrats delayed premium payment deadlines, high-risk insurance pool cancellations and onerous "meaningful use" mandates on health providers grappling with nObamacare's disastrous top-down electronic medical records rules. Those chickens will come home to roost in 2015.

One silver lining: A total of 16 Senators who voted for the federal health care takeover either failed to win re-election or declined to run for re-election.

Good riddance to them and farewell to nObamacare's annus horribilis.

"Americas must realize that self-scrutiny is not treason. Self-examination is not disloyalty."

The question is who is worst, the criminals that commit the crimes against humanity or the ones that know what is taken place in our country and do nothing and remain silent.

Ron Paul, the only honest candidate that was destroyed by the US News Media because he do not sale out. The NEOCON hates Ron Paul because he stands for Freedom, Honesty, and Sound Money. We are broken and pull apart by deception and betrayal; 2016 is the year of unity and the time to get our country on the right path, restore our freedom and take back our jobs and our rights to work for decent wages and our prosperity.

http://www.infowars.com/ron-paul-and-a-timeline-of-cia-crimes-and-atrocities/

The “neocons” believe that American greatness is measured by our willingness to be a great power, through an unlimited global military intervention in other nations; their objective is to control and dominate regional resources to consolidate control, sufficient to generate global control and power. As American neocons continue to shape the narratives that define the permissible boundaries for U.S. foreign policy thinking, the failure to enforce any meaningful accountability on them for their role in the criminal and disastrous invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan has become painfully clear. We have become the world’s bully, the predators of many nations’ natural resources. Our integrity and honor was destroyed by the ill foreign policy of the GOP NEOCON. In any vibrant democratic system, it would be unthinkable that the neocons and the war hawks who pushed the United States into Iraq and Afghanistan  a little more than twelve years ago would still be exercising control over how Americans perceive today’s events. Yet, many of the exact same pundits and pols who misled the American people then are still misleading them today, they picture themselves as the champions of Democracy, freedom and pro free enterprise system, but in reality they are the promoters of predator corporatism, free trade and globalization, they want the control of the world’s natural resources, commerce and the en slavery of the working class. The question is who is worst, the criminals that commit the crimes against humanity or the ones that know what is taken place in our country and do nothing and remain silent. America, wake up and stand united to take our country back in 2016. Let’s work for Freedom, Honesty, and Sound Money.

Dear Freshman Republicans

You were elected to represent the people. You will be pressured to join the corrupt political elite that run our congress and the NEOCON that want to control the world’s resources and send our soldiers to die for the US predator corporatism. Do not betray the people; stand loyal to our constitution, the rule of law and our American principles. If Guns Could Talk - The Old Musket

4064043217?profile=originalComposed by Cary D'Agnese  I/6/15

I was born in the fire of the forge

So very long ago

Some say a gift from God

Some say from the devils hand

I brought food to those who hungered

Guarded both king and commoner

On the Mayflower I sailed

On Americas shores I prevailed

I brought comfort and safety to family's

I opened the way to the frontier

With me, no one had to fear

I was the great equalizer

I gave respect to the oppressed

And judgment on the wicked

I stood my ground at Concord and Lexington

Fired freedoms shot heard around the world.

I stood with Washington at Trenton and Yorktown

And froze at Valley Forge on snowy ground

Then at Gettysburg, Shiloh and Bull Run

I made the final decision of freedom or slave

I was raised high to bid a fare well salute to a beloved leader

I was in Teddy's hand at San Juan Hill

With the dough Boys and Pershing, I served them well

In the darkest hours of WW2 I freed world and did God's will

Now I have been here for many years

I am bused tattered and damp with tears

Some people say I should have never been

Now, some say my life should end

But I was always there when you needed me

I was the tool that made you free

I was only as good or as bad as those who embraced me

nObama's New Year's Resolution: More nObama
Barack nObama sat down with NPR before leaving for Hawaii for his lavish taxpayer-funded holiday to let people know he plans on staying the (golf) course in his final two years in office. The big takeaway from the 40-minute Leftmedia lovefest: He has no intention of changing his game plan. nObama insists the reason the Democrats were beaten so badly in November was because they didn't run on his record. "I'm obviously frustrated with the results of the midterm election," he told NPR. "I think we had a great record for members of Congress to run on." Perhaps the president was referring to nObamaCare, which has never achieved any level of respect or approval from the American people. Broken websites, hidden fees, millions kicked off their insurance and a steadily growing bureaucratic nightmare that would make any Beltway pencil-pusher proud -- these are just some of the elements of the fiasco that has become nObama's signature piece of legislation.  -The Patriot Post

BOEHNER BATTLE SETS UP ANOTHER BUST
Conservatives who demand maximal resistance to President nObama’s agenda have placed a new marker: the election for House Speaker set to be held as the new Congress convenes on Tuesday. Two Republican rivals to Speaker John Boehner have declared themselves, with Reps. Louie Gohmert of Texas and Ted Yoho of Florida announcing their candidacies over the weekend. And as Alex Pappas reported, the leader of the effort to topple Boehner, Rep. Walter Jones, R-N.C., has spent weeks trying to build the 28-member coalition he needs to deny Boehner a 217-seat majority. The coverage has been intense, but is Boehner really in danger? Nope. Despite the announcement from at least six other GOP lawmakers that they won’t be voting for Boehner, this looks like a dead letter.
-Fox News
canstock8354303.jpg
Moral minority -   Boehner’s supporters have pledged that even if the speaker fell short on the first ballot, they will hold successive votes until he is reelected. Even so, multiple ballots would be a moral victory for Boehner’s foes. History is certainly against the insurgents. No election of a speaker has gone beyond the first ballot since 1923, when Frederick Gillette, R-Mass., won re-election on the ninth ballot. Forcing so rare a moment would get attention for the movement and foreshadow deeper difficulties for Boehner on looming votes on immigration, spending, taxes and other hot topics. But is even a moral victory in reach? Nah.
Whipped - Just look at the pool of potential votes for the Jones plan, which are presumably lawmakers from the most conservative districts in the country. Here’s one metric: Of the 30 House districts in which nObama fared the worst in 2012, many are represented by members of Boehner’s leadership team, including Majority Whip Steve Scalise and committee chairmen including Jason Chaffetz and Hal Rogers. And the same is true as you page through other less-red districts. The votes just aren’t there. A similar effort to unseat Boehner came to a clattering end in 2013, and the speaker has more clout now. With Republicans in control of the Senate, Boehner’s friendship is more valuable to ambitious members who would like to see bills passed and headlines made. These are not unknown facts to Jones & Co., who fell out with Boehner long ago. So what’s the point?
Elimination round - There’s no downside for Jones, Yoho and Gohmert, who have already been frozen out of leadership love. The move generates attention and headlines from both conservatives yearning for a more ideological speaker as well as liberals who just want to see the fight. But there may be some downside for the movement the men seek to lead. This gambit stands to be another disappointment for an insurgency that came up empty with convoluted procedural plays on blocking nObama’s temporary executive amnesty as well as a bid to defund his health law. Failures such as these shrink rather than grow insurgencies, especially when they are conducted in very public fashion to the jeers of the press corps and pundit class. If the conservative rebels in the House and Senate make one resolution for 2015 it ought to be this: Next time, win one.  -Fox News

MCCONNELL KINDLES HOPE ON TAX DEAL
The Hill: “This much is true: Both President nObama and top Republicans are saying the right things about tax reform right now. Whether that means that the two sides will make the progress in 2015 necessary to overhaul the tax code before nObama leaves office is another question entirely…Incoming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), has said that tax reform is on the short list of issues - also including trade and infrastructure improvements - with the best chance for bipartisan cooperation once Republicans take full control on Capitol Hill in January. And Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), who will be the House's top tax writer next year, has said he's willing to compromise on one of the GOP's top priorities for reform - that the individual and corporate systems be revamped together…And while Ryan has said that he's willing to work with nObama on tax reform, he's also been far from confident those discussions will lead to anything.”  -Fox News

TOP IOWA DEMS NOT FEELING THE LOVE FOR HILLY
WSJ: “Iowa Democratic leaders say they are troubled by the prospect that Hilly Clinton could win the state’s 2016 presidential caucuses without a serious challenge, a view primarily rooted in a desire for a more liberal candidate or at least a robust debate about the party’s policies and direction. Interviews with more than half of Democratic chiefs in Iowa’s 99 counties show a state party leadership so far reluctant to coalesce behind Mrs. Clinton. County Democratic officials also voiced qualms about Mrs. Clinton’s ability to win a general election and her fundraising ties to Wall Street firms and corporations, which remain a target of liberal ire. Many county officials said they would like to see senators including Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Bernie Sanders of Vermont enter the race, though they were split over whether any could gain traction and overtake Mrs. Clinton…Beyond the personal, some worry Mrs. Clinton might not be best-positioned to defeat the eventual Republican nominee, concerned her candidacy wouldn’t be exciting enough to draw in the younger voters who backed Mr. nObama.”  -Fox News

John Hinckley won’t face murder charge in death of James Brady
(By Peter Hermann) - Federal prosecutors said they will not charge John W. Hinckley Jr. with murder in the shooting of President Ronald Reagan’s press secretary in a 1981 assassination attempt...even though a medical examiner concluded that James S. Brady’s death in August was caused by the old wounds. The decision, announced Friday by the U.S. attorney for the District, comes four months after a medical examiner decided that Brady’s death at the age of 73 was a direct result of a bullet fired 34 years ago outside the Washington Hilton on Connecticut Avenue in Northwest. In a statement, prosecutors said their decision was based on “a review of applicable law, the history of the case, and the circumstances of Mr. Brady’s death.” Hinckley, now 59, was found not guilty by reason of insanity in the shooting of Reagan, Brady and two others and has spent the past three decades at St. Elizabeths psychiatric hospital in Southeast Washington.       http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/crime/prosecutors-will-not-charge-hinckley-with-murder-in-death-of-james-brady/2015/01/02/67de0024-929a-11e4-a900-9960214d4cd7_story.html

 America’s Vanishing Civic Duty
(fixthisnation.com) - According to a new poll from the Associated Press, Americans don’t feel the sense of civic duty they did in previous generations...When compared with a similar poll done thirty years ago, today’s citizens don’t feel as compelled to keep up with the news, serve on a jury, or even report crime in their communities. The poll asked respondents about six activities related to civic awareness: volunteering, jury duty, knowing English, reporting crime, voting, and keeping up to date with the news. While the importance of voting and volunteering has remained the same, numbers are down in the other areas. And even though three quarters of Americans said that voting was a central part of citizenship, the 36 percent of eligible voter turnout in November undercuts the assessment.       http://www.fixthisnation.com/conservative-breaking-news/americas-vanishing-civic-duty/

Why The Sandy Hook Lawsuit Is Wrong
(leanrightamerica.org) - Standing up for freedom is not always easy. There’s a reason we build monuments to the men and women who have dared to challenge totalitarianism, fascism, and the ever-present forces of oppression...It takes courage to fight against unjust laws, power-hungry politicians, and those who would use tragedy to limit liberty. Threats to American freedom are difficult to fight because they often come wrapped in the disguise of a higher morality. They put champions of liberty in the unenviable position of refuting genuine victims of tragedy. Nowhere is this conflict more defined than in the battle over gun rights. No one wants to be on the team that says, “No, parents of Sandy Hook, you’re not right to sue Bushmaster.” But in the quest to ensure our Constitution’s survival, that’s exactly what we must do.       http://www.leanrightamerica.org/uncategorized/why-the-sandy-hook-lawsuit-is-wrong/

If Black Lives Really Mattered You Would be Protesting Abortions
(By Tim Brown) - I do like Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke. He speaks his mind and leaves no doubt as to what he means...In an interview during Christmas week on CNN with Poppy Harlow, Clarke gave a special message to those protesting police officers under the banner of "Black lives matter." Clarke said if black lives matter those protesters would be outraged at abortion and protesting that. The sheriff wanted protesters to take emotion off the table and have an "objective discussion" about the reality of black on black crime. He also indicated that when the recent deaths of black men due to white police officers were a "sliver of what is going on in America's ghettos today."       http://freedomoutpost.com/2015/01/sheriff-david-clarke-protesters-black-lives-really-mattered-protesting-abortions-not-cops/

Mystery at the sun's south pole
(By Mark Prigg) - There were no fireworks on the sun to welcome in the New Year - and in fact, scientists say the end of the year was relatively quiet on the solar surface...However, the sun has started 2015 with a mysterious event - a huge hole has appeared. Known as a coronal hole, the phenomenon occurred near the south pole - and is seen as a dark area covered all of its base in these stunning images. The incredible image was  captured on Jan. 1, 2015 by the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) instrument on NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory, shows the coronal hole as a dark region in the south.       http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2894840/Mystery-sun-s-south-pole-Nasa-reveals-huge-coronal-hole-solar-surface-winds-jet-500-miles-SECOND.html

Calif. Taxpayers to SUBSIDIZE Auto Insurance for Illegal Aliens
(CA Political Review) – State officials hope a new law that offers California driver’s licenses to immigrants in the country illegally will also encourage them to buy insurance...To encourage the practice, the California Department of Insurance is aggressively marketing its Low Cost Auto Insurance program to the large pool of immigrants projected to seek licenses under the AB 60 law taking effect Jan. 1. “It would be a tragedy if after all this effort, the 1.4 million people who are getting driver’s licenses for the first time don’t have auto insurance,” said Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones.  With Israel ‘war crimes’ gambit, PA risks loss of US funding
(By Rebecca Shimoni Stoil) - In initiating a war crimes probe against Israel with the International Criminal Court, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas may fall afoul of US legislation that would mandate defunding the PA...The US funds the PA to the tune of some $400 million per year. Even if Abbas’s ICC investigation gambit does not play out — and Palestine’s route ahead at the ICC is strewn with legal obstacles — it is viewed by many leaders of the incoming Republican-controlled Congress as the latest justification to reexamine the PA’s American funding.       http://www.timesofisrael.com/with-israel-war-crimes-gambit-pa-risks-loss-of-us-funding/?utm_source=The+Times+of+Israel+Daily+Edition&utm_campaign=674ba73671-2015_01_03&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_adb46cec92-674ba73671-54638825

This Photo Inspired a Book, Film and Pro-Life Message
(By Gabriella Morrongiello) - In August 1999, doctors diagnosed Samuel Armas—who was still in his mother’s womb—with spina bifida, a congenital disorder that causes deformation of the spinal cord...To prevent her future son from suffering severe neurological damage, Armas’s mother, who was 21 weeks pregnant when the diagnosis was received, underwent prenatal surgery. During the surgery, Clancy witnessed something remarkable. “Suddenly, an entire arm thrust out of the opening [of the exposed uterus], then pulled back until just a little hand was showing,” Clancy wrote on his personal blog. “The doctor reached over and lifted the hand, which reacted and squeezed the doctor’s finger. As if testing for strength, the doctor shook the tiny fist. Samuel held firm.”       http://dailysignal.com/2015/01/03/photo-inspired-book-film-pro-life-message-across-globe/
Civil Disobedience
Burt Prelutsky

(By burtprelutsky.com) - What Barack nObama has done to America is so vile that one can only hope that he will receive his just comeuppance in the hereafter. After all, we know that as an ex-president, he will, like Bill Clinton, make tens of millions of dollars in book deals and speaking fees. He and Michelle will live in a mansion, fly between Chicago and Hawaii on a private jet, protected by the Secret Service, and hobnobbing with the show biz glitterati who adore him and see him as super cool and the fount of all wisdom.

Ultimately, only God will have the ability to punish him for trashing our Constitution, along with our traditions and values. It’s of small comfort to those of us who think he has single-handedly undermined American power and influence in the world by coddling our enemies, betraying our allies and turning a blind eye to the existential threat posed by Islam. Even on those rare instances when he has been forced to acknowledge the evil done in its name, he has referred to it as workplace violence or dismissed it as a generic form of terrorism.

Still, a great many people regard it as unseemly if you attack nObama’s actions or his motives, insisting that respect be paid to the office. To me, that sounds like baby talk. The office is the office. It’s what its occupant does that should determine how much respect you pay it. For better or worse, being elected president indicates nothing more than the fact you managed to win a popularity contest by spending hundreds of millions of other people’s dollars lying about yourself or your opponent.

I feel the same way when people take the NYPD to task because the cops have been turning their backs on the unrepentant commie bastard, Mayor De Blasio, who went on TV to reveal he told his bi-racial son, Dante, to be very careful when he comes in contact with New York cops because they’re racists and his life might be at risk. He told young Dante that lie in spite of the fact that blacks and Hispanics make up the majority of his city’s police force, and that Dante’s father never steps outside without having a squad of cops protecting his ungrateful ass.

The wonder of it is that New York voters are so devoted to liberalism that they’d never even consider recalling De Blasio. Chris Christie saw his approval numbers sink and his political career jeopardized simply because a few of his underlings shut down a bridge as political payback to a Jersey mayor. But De Blasio encourages a mob of left-wing thugs and fellow travelers to shut down streets, stores and bridges, in the week leading up to Christmas, while chanting “Kill the cops!” and even some conservatives, including Rudy Giuliani, think it’s disrespectful for the men in blue to turn their backs on the schmuck even though he’s made a career of turning his back on them.

Speaking of institutions that don’t deserve our respect, the U.S. State Department officially deemed Israel’s actions “unacceptable” on 87 different occasions in 2014. That placed the Jewish state in fourth place right between North Korea and Pakistan on Hanoi John Kerry’s shit list.

One must admit that’s an odd place to find an alleged ally. When you realize that during the same period, Iran was working on a nuclear bomb; American soldiers were being killed in Afghanistan; China was menacing Japan and South Korea;, North Korea was committing cyber-attacks against an American company; Russia was gobbling up Crimea and threatening Ukraine; al-Assad continued to murder thousands of Syrians and ISIS in Iraq continued to slaughter Kurds and behead Americans and Brits; you wouldn’t think Israel would rank so high, considering they were mainly being condemned for building apartment houses within its own borders.

After referring to Elizabeth Warren as Pocahontas in a recent article, referencing her farcical claims to being a Native American in order to enhance her resume and promote her rise in academic circles, and possibly cash in on casino money, a reader in Massachusetts let me know that within the state, conservatives have taken to calling her Fauxcahontas and Lieawatha. We would do well to keep these amusing terms in mind in case Hilly Clinton falls by the wayside and Sen. Warren winds up on the presidential ballot in 2016.

Meanwhile, in Argentina, a very weird century-long tradition was continued when President Christina Fernandez de Kirchner adopted a young boy as her godson in order to ward off the curse that supposedly turns the seventh son of a family into a werewolf on the first Friday after his 13th birthday. The child is not only saved from a life of baying at the full moon, but awarded a gold medal and a scholarship.

Until recently, only Catholics could apply. But this year, the lucky winner was Yair Tarvil, a young Jew. And high time, I say. After all, why should Jewish seventh sons be condemned to bay at the moon and run naked through the woods? Inasmuch as a 13th birthday is also the occasion for a bar mitzvah when a Jewish boy is magically transformed into a man, I’m curious if they somehow merged the two ceremonies for young Yair. You’d think it must have been really tough to shop for just the right greeting card. I wonder if his relatives congratulated him on becoming a man or on not becoming a werewolf.

In the old days, people thought there were three ways to cure the condition: through the application of wolfbane, which is a poisonous plant, surgery or exorcism. There was an odd cultural element to it, because Sicilians thought the best cure was to stab the victim through his hand (paw?); Germans believed that if you called the werewolf by his Christian name three times, he would snap out of it; whereas Danes thought that a good scolding would do the trick.

My own experience with werewolves was limited to seeing hair sprout on Lon Chaney Junior’s hands while fangs popped out of his mouth in old movies. All the while, Maria Ouspenskaya, who always seemed to be suffering from a curse of her own, which made it impossible for her to say “Hello” without making it sound terribly foreboding, would mumble, “Even a man who is pure at heart, and says his prayers at night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright.”

Being an impressionable child, even though, so far as I knew, there was no wolfbane in our neighborhood, for a long time, whenever the moon was bright, I would check to see if hair was sprouting on my hands. In fact it wasn’t until I was into my 30s that I came to realize that in my particular case the curse was that, moon or no moon, the hair would fall off my head.

Congress May Block nObama’s $3 Billion Pledge to UN Climate Fund
(By  Alex Newman) - Newly empowered Republican lawmakers are threatening to protect U.S. taxpayers from being fleeced again by the nObama administration...which in late 2014 recklessly promised to send another $3 billion of American tax money to a United Nations climate fund. Under the guise of fighting global warming, the UN scheme is mostly aimed at redistributing wealth from what remains of the Western middle class to Third World dictators. However, after the GOP trounced establishment-backed climate alarmists in the mid-term election, lawmakers say Congress is almost certain to scale back funding — if not end it completely — for the increasingly extremist and discredited global warming plots pushed by the White House and the dictator-dominated UN. Especially problematic for the nObama administration and the global-warming theorists at the UN is the anticipated takeover of the Senate Environment Committee by Senator James Inhofe (R-Okla.), a staunch climate realist who has for years resisted and ridiculed the hysteria put forward by alarmists. For months, Hollywood bigwigs, the establishment press, and pseudo-environmentalists have been frothing over Inhofe’s chairmanship and the effects it is expected to have on White House efforts to shackle Americans to more UN global-warming machinations. And already, Inhofe and others are vowing to protect the taxpayer.           http://www.thenewamerican.com/tech/environment/item/19832-congress-may-block-obama-s-3-billion-pledge-to-un-climate-fund?utm_source=Newsletter&utm_campaign=4dfd8b8104-The_Editors_Top_Picks_3_12_143_12_2014&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_8ca494f2d2-4dfd8b8104-289778381

Muslim Kamikaze Jihad Pilots Will Murder More Innocent People
(By Ben Barrack) - If there are modern day Kamikaze pilots, they are in fact Muslims who use terror. The most notorious are the 19 hijackers of 9/11. All were Muslim and all had a similar yet different purpose than the WWII version...The Japanese brand included one dead pilot and military targets. Islamic jihadist pilots don’t just kill themselves but also their innocent passengers and sometimes civilians on the ground. As Shoebat.com reported recently the pilot of Asia Airlines Flight QZ8501 was a devout Muslim and former Air Force pilot named Captain Iriyanto, who may have murdered Christians while in the Air Force. Despite these realities being extremely relevant in light of the war that western civilization is fighting, no mainstream media outlet seems interested in mentioning it.       http://shoebat.com/2015/01/01/u-s-not-start-profiling-muslim-kamikaze-jihad-pilots-will-murder-innocent-people/

Indonesia, New Law: You Can’t Say Merry Christmas
(By Ted) - Just recently, the largest Muslim country in the world, Indonesia, passed a law saying that Christians can not longer say “Merry Christmas” or “Happy New Year.” I did a whole video on this...  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbTkoYW98D0  The controversy has been a point of conflict even among Muslims in the country. Nahdlatul Ulama, Indonesia’s foremost moderate Muslim organisation, argues that there is nothing unlawful in greeting Christians ‘Merry Christmas’ or ‘Happy Holidays.’ But Islamic hardliners in Indonesia, which is the world’s most populous Muslim nation, beg to differ. According to AsiaNews.it, “after the province of Aceh, the only one in which Sharia law is implemented, a radical vision of faith is on the increase in other parts of Indonesia … as is the intention to introduce legislation or regulations relating to customs derived from Islamic law.”       http://shoebat.com/2015/01/02/biggest-muslim-country-earth-indonesia-just-made-new-law-cant-say-merry-christmas/

Media Botched Their Reporting on the Latest Benghazi Report
(By Sharyl Attkisson) - It neither “exonerates” nor “debunks.” It specifically states that it is not the final word on Benghazi. Yet national press outlets claimed all of the above about the House Intelligence Committee report on Benghazi released on Nov. 21...USA Today portrayed the report as a sweeping effort that “cleared the Obama administration of any wrongdoing” and the Associated Press claimed the report concluded “there was no wrongdoing by Obama administration officials,” though it didn’t examine most aspects of the administration’s actions regarding Benghazi. For example, the committee did not attempt to dissect White House actions or decision-making. And it did not generally “assess State Department or Defense Department activities” (page 4). What the House Intelligence Committee did do was focus on a narrow slice of Benghazi: the intelligence community. As such, the report largely defends the CIA.       http://dailysignal.com/2014/12/31/26-ways-media-botched-reporting-latest-benghazi-report/

Defund Amnesty, nObamacare & set the Energy Sector Free
(By: Suzanne Hamner) - The New Year has begun and Americans can expect a tumultuous year when it comes to the Republican-controlled Senate and House tackling issues that propelled the overturn of a Democratic Senate monopoly in last year’s midterm elections...Appearing on the FoxNews “Hannity” show, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) indicated the top three priorities for Republicans assuming the majority in the Congress will be defunding amnesty, defunding parts of the nObamacare legislation, and deregulating energy. Gohmert stated, “Defund the amnesty. Defund nObamacare, as much as we can in next year’s legislation. And, release the energy sector to provide more jobs. It’s ready. There’s ready to be an economic boom, if we will stop the overregulation.”       http://sonsoflibertymedia.com/2015/01/gohmert-new-republican-majority-defund-amnesty-defund-obamacare-set-energy-sector-free/

A City Divided: Jerusalem's Most Contested Neighborhood
(therightscoop.com) - Throughout the past several months, Jerusalem has been a scene of clashes and violent attacks. Silwan, a Palestinian neighborhood just steps away from Jerusalem’s Old City...has been at the heart of the unrest, and is becoming one of the most contentious neighborhoods in the most contested city in the world. VICE News traveled to Silwan and met with Palestinians and Israelis living in this contested neighborhood at a time when Jerusalem is more divided than ever. Vice News reports on this farily objectively, interviewing both Israelis and Palestinians who live there. But for once, I’m not sure how one can be so objective. After all, the Israelis would be fine living in peace with their Arab neighbors if they were also peaceful, but the Palestinians want Israelis to just get out of dodge or they won’t be happy.       https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zAQG_5DG6A

BOSTON (CBS) — The contents of a more than 200-year-old time capsule sealed in the State House by Sam Adams and Paul Revere will be unveiled on January 6, state officials announced Tuesday...The 10-pound capsule was put under the State House cornerstone in 1795 by then-Gov. Adams, Revere and William Scollay. It was extracted earlier this month while work was being done on the State House, and X-rayed at the Museum Of Fine Arts.       http://boston.cbslocal.com/2014/12/23/time-capsule-buried-by-sam-adams-paul-revere-to-be-opened-jan-6/#.VKdLmYQYmnI.twitter

The IRS Violated The Law And State Sovereignty
(By Grace-Marie Turner) - The U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments in the case on March 4, and a decision is likely by June...Citing a significant number of previous decisions, the brief argues that Congress is expected to “speak clearly if it wishes to assign to an agency decisions of vast ‘economic and political significance.’” Instead, the IRS illegally made “major policy decisions properly made by Congress” in ruling in May of 2012 that health insurance subsidies could be available to those who enroll through federally-created exchanges. The Affordable Care Act explicitly says that subsidies are available only “through an Exchange established by the State.” Thirty-six states defaulted to the federally-created exchanges in 2014, making their residents ineligible for health insurance subsidies if the Supreme Court rules that the law means what it says.       http://www.forbes.com/sites/gracemarieturner/2014/12/30/the-irs-violated-the-law-and-state-sovereignty/
The Future is Arriving Faster Than Ever
Alan Caruba

(factsnotfantasy.blogspot.com) - On the last day of 2014 I received a lapel pin from the Society of Professional Journalists in honor of my having been a member since 1979, thirty-five years ago. I confess I was a little stunned to think I had been an editor and reporter that long ago. Indeed, I had been one for several years even before I joined the Society.

I doubt that today’s generation of young journalists have ever used a manual typewriter nor know what it feels like to hold the pieces of metal that a linotype machine created to make a column of newsprint.

In theory journalism still has the same objectives; to get the facts and tell the story as objectively as possible.

Today, however, journalism has become far more subjective and the issue of bias blazes off the pages and from the television screen in terms of the selection of the events that are reported and the facts selected to be the news.

There is an old saying in newsrooms that reporters are liberal and editors are conservative, but these days much of what appears on editorial pages and in the print and broadcast news is a blatant liberal interpretation of what is or is not news.

This old journalist cannot escape the feeling that what we are reading much of the time is little more than a government press release handout. Sadly, I think we are witnessing a significant reduction of investigative journalism in the mainstream media. Fortunately that void is filled in these days by Internet sites that focus on various elements of the news occurring in the nation and the world.

It was not, for example, a journalist who discovered the truth about Jonathan Gruber and his role in creating nObamaCare. He's now famous for calling voters "stupid."

These days, according to the Pew Research Journalism Project, “Even at a time of fragmenting media use, television remains the dominant way that Americans get news at home, according to a (2013) Pew Research Center analysis of Nielsen data. And while the largest audiences tune into local and network broadcast news, it is national cable news that commands the most attention from its viewers.”
I suspect that the many new communications technologies will be the means by which people will get their news from ipads and similar devices. I feel positively ancient when I open the print edition of The Wall Street Journal, but I wouldn’t want to read it any other way. The same applies to reading a book.
In his 1970 book, “Future Shock”, Alvin Toffler warned that by the year 2000, technological advance would come so fast that they will actually make people’s lives more complex, not less. He called it “information overload” saying “Millions of ordinary, psychologically normal people will face an abrupt collision with the future, which will lead to distorted perceptions of reality, confusion, and fatigue.”
Now ask yourself if you’ve become accustomed to people walking down the sidewalk apparently talking out loud to themselves when in fact they are on a cell phone? Indeed, I rarely get in an elevator or go anywhere without seeing people who are looking at a device in their hand with which they are checking their email or conversing with someone. They are, however, literally cut off from any inter-relation with anyone around them, often oblivious to what is occurring.
Think now of how many passwords, remote controls, onboard navigation systems, and Internet search engines with which you interact every day. These are all relatively new technology even though they may seem to have always existed to millennials and younger folk.
Another futurist, R. Buckminster Fuller, an American philosopher and architect—inventor of the geodesic dome—predicted that by the year 2000, the world would have figured out how to eliminate poverty and hunger. We have made great progress with regard to growing abundant crops, but of course those who hate and fear any new way to benefit society are presently campaigning against genetically modified crops (GMOs). They are safe but many large food providers like McDonald’s are giving into the pressure from groups who claim they pose a health threat. They do not. Demands that GMO elements be listed on product labels are part of a despicable campaign against this extraordinary agricultural technology that enhances, protects, and increases crops.
As for poverty, Fuller’s prediction did not come true. The future that has arrived since he made the prediction requires a higher level of education for most jobs and computer skills to perform them. If you’re poor, you face an immediate obstacle trying to learn how to operate and own a computer.
At the same time, robots have replaced workers such as bank tellers. When I call customer service these days, I generally end up talking to a machine. Isaac Asimov, one of the 20th century’s most highly regarded science fiction writers, predicted in 1942 that robots would be so ubiquitous that he proposed “Three Laws of Robotics.” The prime law was that a robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being come to harm. We haven’t quite reached the point Asimov envisioned, but we are getting there.
In terms of how new technologies have occurred in my lifetime, it is fair to say that the future is arriving even more swiftly than it did in the past.
My Mother who at age 98 had lived through virtually the entire last century recalled how amazed she was when a box with earphones was her introduction to the first radio. Born in 1903 when the first Wright Brothers plane flight occurred, she lived to see men rocket to the Moon and airplane travel largely replace trains. 1903 was also the year Henry Ford founded his company and five years later began to roll out the first Model T.  Affordable automobiles transformed American society.
Since we live in an era of change we are often unaware of how greatly the newest technology will affect our lives, but we know we want to have it and use it. That is why, if I may return to my starting point, it is ever more essential that the news that journalists provide is even more important to our lives in terms of how accurately they report the changes affecting it.

New rules intended to combat the teaching of Islamic extremism in British schools is now adversely affecting Christian and Jewish schools

Christian group warns ‘British values’ rules imposed after Trojan Horse scandal is leading to Christian and Jewish schools being marked down by inspectors for failing to promote ‘tolerance’ of Muslims by inviting imams to preach at their schools.

20140620024-1-muslim

UK Telegraph  A successful Christian school has been warned it is to be downgraded by inspectors and could even face closure after failing to invite a Muslim imam to lead assemblies, it is claimed.

The small independent school in the Home Counties was told it is in breach of new rules intended to promote “British values” such as individual liberty and tolerance in the wake of the Trojan Horse scandal, involving infiltration by hard-line Muslim groups in Birmingham.

Details of the case are disclosed in a letter to the Education Secretary, Nicky Morgan, from the Christian Institute, which is providing legal support to the school.  The group warned that the new rules intended to combat extremism are already having “disturbing consequences” for (non-Islamic) religious schools and forcing Ofsted inspectors to act in a way which undermines their ethos.

jihadist-schools

In the latest case inspectors are understood to have warned the head that the school, which was previously rated as “good” that it would be downgraded to “adequate” for failing to meet standards requiring it to “actively promote” harmony between different faiths because it had failed to bring in representatives from other religions, specifically Islam.

They warned that unless the school could demonstrate how it was going to meet the new requirements there would be a further full inspection which could ultimately lead to it being closed.  A Government consultation paper published in June, explaining the new rules, makes clear that even taking children on trips to different places of worship would not be enough to be judged compliant.

The Institute, which is already planning a legal challenge to the consultation, says it fears that the new guidelines could be used to clamp down on the teaching of anything deemed politically incorrect on issues such as marriage. “The new requirements are infringing the rights of children, parents, teachers and schools to hold and practice their religious beliefs.”

How many Somali & Syrian Muslim refugees have come to your city in FY 2015, so far?

Taxation for Islamization. Muslims call it al-hijrah and it’s part of the Islamic plan to conquer the world.

via Refugee Resettlement Watch.

Somalis were resettled in about 115 cities large and small, but here are the top ten with the numbers in parenthesis. Again, these numbers are for three months (October, November and December 2014, the first three months of Fiscal Year 2015). And, it is possible that all December data has not yet been entered.

1. Minneapolis, MN (148)

2. Columbus, OH (127)

3. Phoenix, AZ (123)

4. Portland, OR (108)

5. Buffalo, NY (103)

6. Salt Lake, UT (100)

7. Louisville, KY (92)

8. Erie, PA (89)

9. Nashville, TN (81)

10. Three-way tie with (77) each

Seattle, WA

Houston, TX

St. Cloud, MN

(You might want to check my numbers, go to the data base, and see if I missed some top ten city and see if your city ‘welcomed’ Somalis!  By the way, Anchorage, Alaska got 30 more mosque worshipers).

Also via RRW, How many Syrian refugees have come to the US in FY2015 so far?:

The number is still small (164) so if the State Department plans to get to 9,000-10,000 (mostly Muslims by the way) by September 30th, they will soon be opening the spigot pretty wide.  Also, it is possible that all December arrivals are not yet entered in the data base.

Right now the top three states “welcoming” Syrian refugees are Texas, North Carolina (they are really working hard to transform NC!), and Illinois.

Here are the numbers (just refugees, not asylum seekers or any others who found another way into the US):

Texas: Garland Islamic conference on how to conquer the media

They’ve already conquered the media. And the FBI. And the CIA. And the White House. With very few exceptions no one will say anything bad about Islam for fear of being incorrectly labeled an Islamophobe or a racist. This is about silencing everyone. Nullifying the First Amendment. Instituting sharia. via Stand With the Prophet.

garland-texFrustrated with Islamophobes defaming the Prophet?

Fuming over extremists like ISIS who give a bad name to Islam?

Remember the Danish cartoons defaming the Prophet?

Or the anti-Islam film, “Innocence of Muslims”?

These attacks are no accident.

Ain’t that the truth. They are all the result of the actions of Muslims. And in response to the Danish cartoons, for example, Muslims rioted, protested and killed innocent non-Muslims. Those attacks were no accident either. No acts of jihad are an accident. They are as they were for Mohammad, intentional and commanded by Allah. Whose fault is it that 3,400 killed in jihad suicide bombings in 2014 — 94% increase? Islamophobes or Muslims waging jihad?

The keynote speakers include jihad-preaching imams, one an unindicted co-conspirator to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and supporter of the Blind Sheikh, another who calls for killing, a third who speaks at terror-linked CAIR events and a professor who is funded by the millions by Saudi Wahhabi’s.

  • states Islam commands jihad of the true soldiers of Allah – listen to the Wahhaj speech
  • advocates the replacement of the U.S. government with an Islamic Caliphate
  • unindicted co-conspirator to the 1993 World Trade Center bombings

Abdul Malik Mujahid (one who wages jihad), via Chicago imam: “Qital [killing] is an essential element of Islam”:

Consider the following statement:

Qital [killing] is an essential element of Islam. And sometimes you don’t like it. Qital is ordained upon you, though it is hateful to you, but it may happen that you hate a thing which is good for you, and it may happen that you love a thing which is bad for you….And one example is, now we have 60 or so Muslim countries, and not a single one of them wants to go for Qital and Jihad for Bosnia. Qital is ordained upon you though it is hateful to you.23

In the United States, we treasure our freedoms that are inherent in the Bill of Rights. The freedom of speech is perhaps valued above all. Even so, the above statements were made at the annual conference of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) in Columbus, Ohio in 1995. The speaker was the then-President of an organization called the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), Abdul Malik Mujahid.

Search the archives or any search engine for more or information on the others. Their goal is the same, sharia law – and making it illegal to speak the truth about Islam.

It should also be noted that the term Islamophobia was created by Muslims to silence any criticism of Islam. In fact, the very “Definition of ‘Islamophobia’ is circular, a violation of logic.” More on The ‘Islamophobia’ myth:

Coincidentally this event is being held in Garland, Texas where the new Garland mega-mosque complex includes an Islamic sharia court.

What is Islam? Who are Muslims and what are their core beliefs? Since Minnesota’s Muslim population has increased in recent years, it makes sense to uncover the myths from the facts. Understand Islam’s pillars which include Shahadah (declaration of faith), Salat (daily prayers), Zakat (special tax given to the poor), Sawn (fasting) and Hajj (pilgrimage). Other topics include women in Islam, the media’s presentation of Islam, and Islamic extremists.

This class is designed to be educational and allow for open dialogue with question and answer time. Mashood Yunus and volunteers from Building Blocks of Islam will be the presenters.

Mashood Yunus

MASHOOD YUNUS,originally from Pakistan, came to MN/USA in 1992 and finished two bachelors in electrical engineering and computer science from Mankato State U. He was raised in United Arab Emirates. He is quite involved with many volunteer opportunities. Mashood has been teaching Arabic locally for 7 years besides occasionally teaching Islam 101.

If you really want to know some of your Muslim neighbors, save your $10 and freely read our 2014 Year in Review posts and search our archives for Muslims who have been arrested, indicted, convicted, sentenced, are wanted or were killed waging jihad here and abroad. Or check your state in the Archive dropdown.

And search any of those terms discussed above too…like zakat – which funds jihad. According to Islamic sources, financial support for the fighters of jihad is part of jihad, and fighting the unbelievers is most deserving of zakat. It’s #9 in 44 Ways To Support Jihad.

We could elaborate on women in Islam (second class citizens segregated, covered and one of 4 wives entitled Muslim men) and the media’s almost always positive portrayal and defense of Islam, but we’ve done it hundreds of times previously.

Citizens should do research Mashood Yunus as well. A quick look online notes he likes notorious Muslim cleric Yasir Qadhi. To connect the dots with the 44 Ways to Support Jihad noted above, Qadhi’s group sold products from that author and so notorious was that author that Barrack Obama killed him in a drone strike. Qadhi himself is on terror watch list!

…in response to the CNN report, a post at the Jawa Report observed that Qadhi’s Ilmquest media company had been selling more than a dozen audio CD sets by al-Qaeda cleric Aulaqi, even after the cleric had been tied to the Ft. Hood shootings (the post included a screen shot of Ilmquest’s Aulaqi products — all since removed from the Ilmquest website). Aulaqi’s sermons have also recently been sold at Al Maghrib seminars. These sales of Aulaqi’s sermons continued while Qadhi criticized Aulaqi on his MuslimMatters website.

Additionally, Qadhi has been one of the most outspoken advocates for convicted “Virginia jihad network leader” Abu Al-Tamimi, and his MuslimMatters website openly champions the cause of captured al-Qaeda operative Aafia Siddiqui.

Qadhi has not reserved his special brand of hate just for infidels. In 2006, Qadhi took to the AlMaghrib online forum to denounce prominent Sunni Islamic scholar Sheikh Alawi al-Maliki as a polytheist (and thus deserving of condemnation to hell). After Muslim bloggers began calling for a boycott of AlMaghrib in response to Qadhi’s takfiri ideology, the post quickly disappeared from the AlMaghrib forum.

And just last April, the UK-based Islamic group Quilliam Foundation issued analert noting Qadhi’s anti-Jewish tirade, and also noting statements he had made attacking Shia Islam as “the most lying sect of Islam,” including: “The Shias are allowed to lie and it is their religion to lie.”

These are the folks and this is what won’t be taught at this event.

Considering South Washington County Community Education focus is early education, citizens should be very concerned about what is taking place on its premises and if it is creeping into any educational materials. Ask them.

GOP Sets New Year Agenda

As members of the 114th Congress take their seats Tuesday with the GOP in majority in both chambers, the Republican Party will begin the session by trying to approve the Keystone XL pipeline and changing the ObamaCare definition of full-time work to 40 hours a week instead of 30 – issues that have bipartisan support. A House aide, who serves Republican leadership, told The New York Times, “The Senate will be ground zero,” as the GOP still has to persuade four Democrats to vote with them to reach 60 votes to send legislation to Barack Obama’s executive pen. Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) wants to reform the failed educational policy No Child Left Behind, a move that would essentially reduce the federal government’s meddling with state and local school boards. But while senators are anticipating a bipartisan political game and plotting governing moves, there is infighting in the House. At least nine GOP representatives will make a show of voting against John Boehner as House Speaker because he did not stand up to the president and agreed to fund Obama’s executive immigration decrees until February. More…

Al Sharpton: Shakedown Artist

For years, it hasn’t been enough for Al Sharpton to simply pontificate about racial issues. No, that’s not how a 21st century race-baiter operates. According to the New York Post, the self-appointed spokesman on race issues has for years made a nasty habit of threatening American companies: pay him in money or power – or else. “For more than a decade, corporations have shelled out thousands of dollars in donations and consulting fees to Sharpton’s National Action Network,” the Post writes. “What they get in return is the reverend’s supposed sway in the black community or, more often, his silence. … ‘Al Sharpton has enriched himself and NAN for years by threatening companies with bad publicity if they didn’t come to terms with him. Put simply, Sharpton specializes in shakedowns,’ said Ken Boehm, chairman of the National Legal & Policy Center, a Virginia-based watchdog group that has produced a book on Sharpton.” In other words, Sharpton is not a principled defender of civil rights. The only color he really cares about is green. More…

NYPD Expands Protest of NYC Mayor

In response to allegations of police racism made by New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, the city’s police have turned their backs (literally) on the mayor at the funerals for slain NYPD officersWenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos – even when Police Commissioner William Bratton asked the force to respect the ceremonies. NYPD is also on a working strike, as the department has virtually stopped enforcing traffic laws, making drug arrests and, in the words of one NYPD supervisor, “only making arrests when they have to.” De Blasio brought this backlash on himself with his outrageous racism accusations. But as Red State’s Leon Wolf writes, the actions of the NYPD create a “dangerous precedent” if future politicians ever want to cut the bloated bureaucracy of government. There are other ways for the NYPD to petition de Blasio for a redress of grievances that do not endanger the public or disrupt a memorial to a fallen law enforcement officer. More…

Pew reports, “About 229,000 Mexicans were apprehended by the Border Patrol in fiscal year 2014 compared with 257,000 non-Mexicans during the previous year, according to recently published Border Patrol data. Taken together, total apprehensions of Mexican and non-Mexican unauthorized immigrants (more than 486,000) were up 16% over the previous year.” Overall, the number of illegal immigrants is down from its high in 2000, when 1.6 million illegal immigrants crossed the border. Obama, so far, has inadvertently fixed the immigration issue because few people want to live in a nation destroyed by his economic policies. However, an upturn in the economy combined with his amnesty will change that. More…

A Good Year for Gun Rights

In the aftermath of the horrific murders at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December 2012, gun grabbers led by Sen. Dianne Feinstein pushed hard to enact “sensible gun control.” Fortunately, at the national level at least, they were unsuccessful in restoring things like the ban on so-called “assault weapons.” And even better, Second Amendment proponents were able to advance gun rights in several states. To name a few victories, Idaho, Georgia and Indiana expanded the number of places where concealed carry is permitted, Missouri now permits teachers to carry firearms and the Ninth Circuit Court struck down California’s “just cause” concealed carry requirement. All this while more and more Americans are buying guns. Clearly, we should never let down our guard (see the UN’s anti-gun treaty as an example), but there is reason for optimism as Liberty advances.

UN Moves Forward With Anti-Gun Treaty

2015-01-05-cc76108b.jpg

Moving crews have packed up desks, lamps, chairs, office supplies and other personal items of numerous Democrat Senate and House offices now vacated after November’s election. But in a suite of offices located directly across from the Senate Floor, there were relics from the list of bills that passed the U.S. House and sat without action inside Harry Reid’s office. Somewhere in that stack likely sits an anti-gun treaty signed by Secretary of State John Kerry.

To his credit, outgoing-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid likely knew the United Nation’s Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) (full text here) would never meet the two-thirds majority requirement for ratification. But as of Christmas Eve, the treaty has gone into effect internationally.

The UN General Assembly first approved the ATT in April 2013 and Kerry signed it on Sept. 24, 2013, amid criticism from the Republican side of the upper chamber’s aisle.

No action has been taken to move the treaty to a vote for U.S. Senate ratification, but 61 nations have ratified the treaty and 69 additional nations have signed without ratification by their own governments. The ATT is legally binding only to the 61 nations whose governments have procedurally embraced the global legislation.

Likely, Reid avoided the self-inflicted damage to Democrats in an election cycle that would result with a recorded vote on a UN arms control effort. Then again, Democrats didn’t fair all that well as it was.

According to Kerry and Barack Obama – of “bitter clingers” fame – the ATT will protect Americans and other global citizens from the dangers of illicit small arms trade (smaller munitions, sea and land mines, rockets). They assure us that the treaty’s jurisdiction would apply only to international trade and not infringe upon domestic gun rights.

Kerry trumpeted, “Make no mistake, we would never think about supporting a treaty that is inconsistent with … the rights of American citizens to be able to exercise their guaranteed rights under our Constitution.” Spare us the idea that Democrats have anything but contempt for gun rights.

Why would any American who values the Constitution and the Second Amendment have concerns about the negative implications on our national security and the right to bear arms?

First, on a foreign policy level, Obama and Kerry have essentially signaled their willingness for an international body made up of rogue and terrorist nations to define the appropriate movement and utilization of certain weapons and munitions. It’s foreign policy for dummies … and on purpose.

The treaty permits post-ratification amendments by a three-quarters majority vote of the UN General Assembly that would completely circumvent the power of our legislative involvement. Nothing says “Smart Foreign Policy” like allowing your potential enemies to amend an agreement to their advantage.

Second, on the domestic front, the ATT would mandate export/import controls requiring the importing country to collect information of the “end user” of a firearm, retain that information for 20 years, and provide that information to the exporting county. So if you purchased, say, a Beretta shotgun, you would be deemed an end user and the treaty would obligate the U.S. government to provide the Italian government with the record of your purchase and your contact information. If the U.S. should fail to do so, exports could be banned to the U.S.

In January 2013, Sen. Jerry Moran (R-KS) put forward an omnibus appropriations bill that prevented funding of any types of implementation of the ATT. The legislation received 53 votes for passage, with 46 opposed – all Democrats.

Our North American brethren, the Canadians, rejected the ATT outright. Yes, even Canada. Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird included in his remarks these direct statements: “It is important that such a treaty should not affect lawful and responsible firearms owners nor discourage the transfer of firearms for recreational uses such as sport shooting and hunting. We’ll make sure that any treaty we sign onto is good for Canada, and good for Canadians‎.”

Sounds like bitter clingers are not limited to the GOP, eh?

In a twist that sounds more like supporting what your enemy opposes, Israel signed the treaty just before the deadline. Iran and other terrorist states determined to eliminate Israel’s existence openly oppose the ATT. Israel can do no right in the eyes of the United Nations, so if its strategy is to remove one criticism from the table it’s unlikely to achieve much.

With a Republican majority now in the U.S. Senate, this treaty won’t see a vote and will not legally bind the U.S. But that may not stop the Obama administration, which had no problem trafficking guns to Mexican drug cartels, from infringing on the Second Amendment anyway.

Civic Virtue in Decline

2015-01-05-82dfff2a.jpg

As we enter 2015, it’s worth looking back on some key cultural indicators from 2014. Here is one bad omen: According to a 2014 Associated Press-GfK poll, Americans' sense of civic virtue is in serious decline. “I don’t see any recovery,” said Rutgers University Professor Cliff Zukin. “The people who were 40 two decades ago aren’t as engaged as the people who were 60 two decades ago. This generational slippage tends to continue.”

The poll was a reprise of questions asked in 1984, and it focused on six civic-oriented activities: voting, volunteering, jury service, reporting crimes, knowing English and keeping on top of news and public issues. Only voting and volunteering were embraced as enthusiastically as they were 30 years ago, yet even those numbers are not particularly encouraging. Only 28% of Americans consider volunteering a “very important obligation.” And while 75% characterize voting a central obligation of citizenship, talk is cheap: Voter turnout in the last presidential election dipped to 57.5% of eligible citizens compared to 62.3% in 2008.

Voter turnout in 2014? The 36.4% of eligible citizens who bothered to vote represented the lowest turnout in any election cycle since World War II.

Most Americans do feel some sense of duty to the nation, with 90% characterizing the reporting of a crime one has witnessed, voting in elections, knowing English and serving on a jury when called as “somewhat important” obligations of citizenship. And a majority of Americans consider them “very important” obligations. Yet with an exception for voting, those majorities have declined by an average of approximately 13 percentage points over the last three decades.

Leading the pack are adults under 30 years of age. In every category except volunteering, they were less likely than elder generations to see any obligation, and also felt less obligated than young people of the past. Even more ominously, nearly one in four feel no obligation to keep informed, volunteer or speak English.

Scott Keeter, director of survey research at the Pew Research Center, suggests one possibility for the decline. “There are a lot of arguments about how our society has shifted toward a rights focus instead of an obligation focus,” he explains – even as he remains relatively unconcerned, adding, “It’s a little early to pull the alarm bells about the demise of our civic culture.”

No, it’s not. And while a rights focus versus an obligation focus may account for some of the decline, the 800-pound gorilla is far more obvious: The American Left has virtually removed the concept of American exceptionalism from the classroom, and cheapened the concept of citizenship itself.

With regard to exceptionalism, the New York Post explains that the teaching of civics has been “largely abandoned” in today’s public schools, and according to the National Assessment of Educational Progress, which bills itself as “the largest nationally representative and continuing assessment of what America’s students know and can do in various subject areas,” those students are less proficient in American history than in any other subject.

Furthermore, what little history they do learn has been twisted to conform to the leftist agenda. As we reported in July, the College Board, the company responsible for the SAT exams and a number of Advanced Placement (AP) exams, has radically redesigned American history curricula to dispense with such things as learning about our nation’s Founders. Mark Alexander noted, “The College Board, which sets the curriculum-testing bar, makes only two references to George Washington, one to Thomas Jefferson, and nowhere to be found are Benjamin Franklin and James Madison, among others.” In their place, students will learn about class, race and gender wrongs.

One such example is that set by the cities of Seattle and Minneapolis, where Columbus Day has been kicked to the curb in favor of “Indigenous People’s Day” – in all its grievance-mongering glory.

Thus the obvious question arises: Why would one be expected to feel a sense of civic virtue toward a nation one either knows little about, or has been taught to view with contempt?

As for cheapening citizenship, what could be more obvious than the Left’s obsession with granting many of its privileges to illegal aliens? Once again California leads the way, as illegal aliens can now get driver’s licenses in that state beginning this year. Not to be outdone, the New York City Council is considering a bill to allow non-citizens to vote in municipal elections. That follows Mayor Bill de Blasio’s signing of a bill last July providing municipal ID cards to city “residents,” regardless of immigration status, beginning this year. De Blasio also signed a bill in November barring the city from alerting federal authorities to illegals in city custody and subject to deportation proceedings, except in rare cases.

And last, but certainly not least, Barack Obama unilaterally decided he will not enforce immigration law against five million illegal aliens – illegals who have and will compete with American citizens for jobs, and many of whom already receive government services, includingwelfare and Medicaid.

And legal immigrants who were once expected to assimilate into America’s “melting pot” society have been told to “celebrate their differences,” which goes a long way toward explaining the reluctance to learn English.

The concerted effort to tarnish the civic pride that American exceptionalism engenders, coupled with the effort to denigrate citizenship itself – which is exactly what creating politically motivated exemptions for lawbreakers represents – are all the explanation necessary as to why civic virtue is in decline.

In the same 1961 speech in which Democrat President (and leftist icon) John Kennedy uttered the words “ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country,” he also told the nation that “[w]e dare not forget today that we are the heirs of that first [American] revolution.” Six years later, Ronald Reagan made it clearer in his inaugural address as California governor: “Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction.” Civic virtue and the obligations of citizenship cannot be separated from the preservation of freedom. We allow their continued deterioration at our own peril.

OPINION IN BRIEF

The Gipper: “The Democrats may remember their lines, but how quickly they forget the lessons of the past.”

Columnist Star Parker: “The more time and energy liberals invest to destroy someone, you can bet that this is someone who loves America, what it stands for, and who can make a difference. Latest case is attacks on Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) because he spoke, in 2002, to the European American Unity and Rights Organization, a white supremacist group founded by racist David Duke. Scalise says the remarks were in the context of promoting tax reform legislation he was sponsoring when he was in the Louisiana state legislature, that he addressed many groups in promoting this legislation, and that he didn’t appreciate then who these folks were. But, really, who cares who they were? Shouldn’t a legislator with reforms to improve his state or his nation be free to sell good ideas to anyone? How far do we let liberals go in censuring speech and ideas in America?”

Columnist Burt Prelutsky: “If the cops are as racist as the idiots in the streets keep claiming, why is it we never see Asians or black immigrants from the Caribbean rioting and complaining about police brutality? With all the people of color residing in America, why is it always and only native-born blacks who take to the streets complaining of mistreatment? Could it possibly have anything to do with the violent crime rate and the lack of parental discipline found in their community that leads to so many unpleasant interactions between the police and young black thugs? Furthermore, if things are as oppressive as they claim, why do we never see a mass migration to Canada or Mexico? The only blacks we ever see leaving the U.S. are those like convicted cop killer Joanne Chesimard, who leave, seeking asylum in Cuba.”

Humorist Frank J. Fleming on one of Obama’s biggest accomplishments of 2014: “More than 99% of the movies scheduled for release this year were not blocked from release by North Korea. So if you don’t like your viewing habits to be decided by murderous dictators, then you have to be mainly pretty happy with President Obama’s record on this.”

Sweden: Mosque fire touted as “Islamophobia” was an accident

Since the fire was an accident started from inside the mosque, it means that it was either started by a Muslim (intentionally or not), or caused by gas or electrical installations that the mosque is responsible for. Muslim leaders in Sweden have already started to demand a state-paid “prayer room guarantee.” Meanwhile, a police bus and many cars near […]

Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdulaziz Al al-Sheikh, the kingdom’s top religious authority in the ultra-conservative Wahhabi school of Sunni Islam, has ruled it’s acceptable for men to marry girls so young the West would deem it nothing short of pedophilia and rape.

Despite the Saudi justice ministry’s failed efforts to date to set 15 as a minimum age to marry a girl in the kingdom, Grand Mufti Abdulaziz declared there is nothing prohibiting Muslim men from marrying girls even younger.

As Grand Mufti, Abdulaziz is president of the Supreme Council of Ulema (Islamic scholars) and chairman of the Standing Committee for Scientific Research and Issuing Fatwas, which means he speaks authoritatively in Islamic teachings.

Grand Mufti Abdulzaiz’s more recent ruling on marrying young girls comes following a similar ruling in 2011 by Dr. Salih bin Fawzan, a prominent cleric and member of the Saudi’s highest religious council, who issued a fatwa, or religious edict, that there is no minimum age to marry girls, “even if they are in the cradle.”

“The ulema have agreed that it is permissible for fathers to marry off their small daughters, even if they are in the cradle,” the edict declared. “But it is not permissible for their husbands to have sex with them unless they are capable of being placed beneath and bearing the weight of the men. And their capability in this regard varies based on their nature and capacity. Aisha was six when she married the prophet, but he had sex with her when she was nine, that is, when she was deemed capable.” (Read more about what the Saudi religious leader says HERE)
