{rickwells.us} ~ Senator Lindsey Graham is not necessarily thrilled at the naming of a special prosecutor, noting that other members of Congress may now be shocked to learn that they are not longer able to be the big man in front of the microphone... on television the way they were prior to Mueller being dragged into the “I hate everything Russian and Trump Marathon.” He may have confirmed one of the reasons Democrats were pushing so hard to have one appointed and perhaps a significant reason behind the Russia Hoax to begin with. Documents and witnesses are now much more restricted, including government officials ability to testify before Congress, due to the old familiar excuse of “an ongoing investigation.”... http://rickwells.us/graham-special-prosecutor-shuts-congress-showboat-attack-investigations/

{lidblog.com} ~ This week my email box has been filled with messages from Organizing For America, Move-On and other liberal PACs falsely accusing the president of being reckless with classified information, obstruction of justice, etc., etc... The news media has been full of  Democratic Politicians and RINO-John McCain making the same type of accusations. It seems as if the entire pack of liberal and Democratic sharks have been circling the White House, eager to begin impeachment proceedings against President Trump. e–Well, maybe not quite all of them. Upending the fledgling presidency of Donald J. Trump may be in the best political interest of a majority of left-leaning public servants, eager to continue suckling at the taxpayer teat. Chinese-built structures in the Spratly Islands
by Mira Rapp-Hooper and Charles Edel
{
foreignaffairs.com} ~ On May 10, seven Republican and Democratic senators sent a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump urging his administration to resume the United States’ freedom of navigation operations, or FONOPs, in the South China Sea. The timing of the bipartisan letter was striking. Senior lawmakers chose a moment when Washington was consumed by a number of political crises, including the ouster of former FBI Director James Comey, to press their case about naval operations thousands of miles away.

They had good reason to do so. The Trump administration has not yet carried out any FONOPs in the South China Sea, giving up one of the essential tools the United States can use to protest China’s expansive territorial claims there. By failing to send U.S. ships and planes past Chinese outposts in the waterway, Washington has neglected to remind Beijing that it does not regard China’s position there as legal or legitimate.

It is possible that U.S. officials have scaled back their focus on the South China Sea as part of a broader gambit to gain China’s favor, perhaps hoping to secure Beijing’s cooperation on North Korea and concessions on trade. Such a transaction, however, would undermine the United States’ position in Asia. And even if that is not the Trump administration’s reasoning, pausing the FONOPs will still have serious costs.

BAD DEAL

Although the United States’ commitment to the freedom of the seas stretches back to the country’s early history, only in 1979 did Washington develop its freedom of navigation program, which seeks to challenge maritime and airspace claims that do not conform with international law. Every year, the U.S. military conducts dozens of FONOPs, most of them without fanfare, in order to reject various states’ efforts to restrict access to the world’s oceans.

In 2015, as Washington and its partners in Asia looked for ways to push back against China’s land-reclamation projects in the South China Sea, U.S. officials settled on FONOPs as an appropriate response. In October 2015, former President Barack liar-nObama authorized the first U.S. FONOP in the South China Sea since early 2012. The liar-nObama administration later promised to conduct two such operations per quarter, but it ordered only four FONOPs between late 2015 and the end of 2016, in part because it worried that the operations would impede progress on other issues in the U.S.–Chinese relationship.

FONOPs do not seek to compel China to abandon its artificial islands, nor can they stop Beijing from building military installations on the territories it occupies. But the operations send an important legal message—that the South China Sea is an international waterway over which China is not entitled to make spurious maritime claims—and failing to carry them out suggests to Beijing that it can expand its reach with impunity. Worse, it could lead China’s neighbors to accept Beijing’s military outposts and expansive claims as legitimate. Last year, an international tribunal ruled that those claims had no basis in international law.

Trump said little about the South China Sea during his campaign for the presidency. But he did take a consistently tough line against China, and as president-elect, he described Beijing’s land-reclamation projects in the region as “brazen” and “terrible.” Since conservative critics of the liar-nObama administration’s China policy often argued that its approach to FONOPs was insufficient, it seemed possible that Trump would embrace the operations after taking office, persistently asserting the rights of U.S. forces to fly or sail wherever international law permits.

The reality has been quite different. The United States has not conducted a FONOP in the South China Sea since Trump became president in January. In fact, according to The New York Times, defense officials have rejected several requests to conduct FONOPs submitted by the U.S. military’s Pacific Command.

Nor has the Trump administration said much about the United States’ commitment to the freedom of the seas, apart from a few brief references made by Vice President Mike Pence during a trip to the region. The official readouts of Trump’s first meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in April made no mention of the territorial disputes in the South China Sea or China’s role in them; indeed, there were few signs that the issue played much of a role in the summit at all.

Exactly why the South China Sea has fallen off the administration’s agenda is not clear. But it is possible that U.S. officials have decided to lift the pressure on China’s maritime outposts because they believe that doing so could help secure Beijing’s help in managing North Korea. There are other signs that suggest that the administration may be trying to gain China’s favor. When Secretary of State Rex Tillerson went to Beijing in March, for example, the White House authorized him to describe the bilateral relationship in language favored by Chinese officials—a puzzling accommodation in light of the importance that Beijing attaches to such rhetoric. The next month, Trump called on South Korea to pay for a missile defense system whose deployment China has opposed. The Trump administration has also released no details about when it will announce arms sales to Taiwan, and Trump has indicated that he will seek Beijing’s permission before speaking to Taiwan’s president again. Trump spoke on the phone with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen in December, in a break from longstanding U.S. policy that angered China.

If this is the administration’s logic, it is deeply flawed. China is indeed capable of pressuring North Korea, since Beijing supports much of that country’s economy. But China has long prioritized the stability of the Korean Peninsula over its denuclearization, and those preferences will not change. More likely is that Beijing will pressure North Korea just enough to demonstrate that it is pitching in, avoiding the kinds of dramatic steps that would push Pyongyang toward denuclearization at the risk of the regime’s collapse. China will not ignore its interests in the Korean Peninsula simply because Washington gives up its own interests in the South China Sea.

STEPPING UP

Standing down from FONOPs in the South China Sea would have immediate consequences. Although the operations alone cannot stop China’s land-reclamation projects, failing to conduct them gives Beijing a green light to proceed apace. In the absence of international pressure, China will continue to transform its artificial islands into military bases. Indeed, on May 16, a state-run media outlet reported that China had further armed one of its largest bases in the disputed Spratly Islands. If Beijing believes that Trump is unlikely to take a stand, it has reason to militarize its outposts quickly, lest the U.S. president change his mind.

In the medium term, focusing on managing North Korea at the expense of the United States’ interests in the South China Sea could destabilize the U.S.–Chinese relationship. Such a course would suggest a dangerously narrow definition of U.S. priorities, encouraging China to more assertively press its position on other regional issues, such as its relationship with Taiwan or the territorial disputes in the East China Sea.

But it is in the long term that U.S. acquiescence in the South China Sea would be the most damaging. If the United States ceases to defend freedom of navigation, others will not make up for its absence. U.S. allies such Australia and Japan are committed to international law, but they do not have their own freedom of navigation programs, and they cannot maintain a regular military presence in the South China Sea. Similarly, if the Trump administration does not seek to rally Southeast Asian countries to support the waterway’s openness, those countries will have little reason to stand up to China on their own. States in the region, including U.S. partners, will quickly presume that Washington is pulling back from Asia and will increasingly view China as the region’s most dependable power, despite its misbehavior at sea. The result would be a tilt in Asia’s balance of power toward Beijing.

If the United States waits months to get tough in the South China Sea, it will do so from a weaker legal, military, and diplomatic position than it holds today. Making matters worse, a sudden shift after a long delay could cause whiplash in Beijing, sending the bilateral relationship into a crisis.

That is why the United States must step up now. Just as international law does not enforce itself, access to the oceans cannot be taken for granted—and it should certainly not be traded away.

Media apoplectic over author of President Trump’s speech on Islam during his trip to Saudi Arabia

The author of President Donald Trump’s controversial travel ban, which targeted people from six-majority Muslim countries, is the principal speechwriter for the President’s speech on Islam in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

CNN  Stephen Miller, Trump’s senior adviser for policy and speechwriter, is the principal aide in charge of writing both the speech on Islam and Trump’s later speech on the future of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, a White House official told CNN. Both are topics Miller has spoken out against throughout his career on Capitol Hill and in the White House.

The speech, which will be given in front of about 50 Muslims leaders, could be a flashpoint in Trump’s eight-day, five country trip. Trump has long derided Islam, proposed banning all Muslim immigration into the United States during the campaign and is expected to use the term “radical Islamic terrorism” throughout the speech in Saudi Arabia, the cradle of the 1.6 billion-member religion.

His travel ban, in the name of protecting the US against terrorism, also specifically targeted all Muslim-majority countries, a move that was derided by Muslims everywhere, including in the Middle East.

That ban was the work of Miller, a 31-year-old aide who, along with Trump’s chief strategist Steve Bannon, the former Breitbart CEO, has been a key voice in Trump’s ear on immigration.

Miller himself has a lengthy history with anti-Muslim rhetoric. During his time at Duke University, Miller wrote extensively for the school’s newspaper, including one article in which he wrote: “Islamic terrorists … have declared a death sentence on every man, woman and child living in this country.”

Miller also worked as a college student for the Terrorism Awareness Project, an effort founded by the David Horowitz Freedom Center. The group is considered an anti-Muslim hate group by the totally discredited George Soros-funded Southern Poverty Law Center.

WINNING! President Trump forces Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan and 6 other mainly Muslim countries to take back the Muslim criminal aliens we are deporting

While judges have blocked many of President Trump’s efforts at common sense immigration reform at home, internationally his tough attitude on immigration is getting results. Particularly when it comes to the major problem of countries refusing to take back its deportable aliens.

Frontpage Mag  Between cajoling, threats and actual punishments, Homeland Security has managed to drastically cut the number of countries that habitually refuse to take back immigrants whom the U.S. is trying to deport, officials said Tuesday, notching an early immigration success for President Trump.

The number of recalcitrant countries has dropped from 20 to 12 over the months since the presidential election, and some longtime offenders — including Iraq and Somalia — have earned their way off the naughty list. The list of countries is the shortest this decade.

20 to 12 is quite an achievement. Especially when you consider that two of the remaining holdouts include China and Cuba. And there are too many other priorities with China. Here’s the full list.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials couldn’t immediately say how many people have been deported because of the changes, but Somalia has taken back 259 just seven months into the fiscal year. That is far more than the 198 it took back in all of 2016 and the 17 it took in 2015. The Trump team plans to deport some 4,000 – 5,000 Somali Muslim this year.

The countries that dropped off the list, in addition to Somalia and Iraq, were Afghanistan, Algeria, Burkina Faso, the Gambia, Mali, Senegal and Sierra Leone.

Other countries still on the recalcitrant list are China, Cuba, Burma, Cambodia, Eritrea, Guinea, Iran, Laos, Morocco, South Sudan and Vietnam. Hong Kong was added into the list this month because its repatriation policy is controlled by China.

South Sudan is barely a country. We’re effectively at war with Iran. But for most of the rest, we could easily crack down. And it looks like we’re starting to do that.

Most of these are Muslim majority nations

Michigan Senate approves legislation making female genital mutilation a felony

The Michigan Senate approved legislation on Wednesday making genital mutilation of girls a state felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison, both for doctors who perform the procedure and parents who transport a child to undergo the surgery.

The legislation, which now goes to the state House of Representatives, was spurred by the case of an emergency room physician charged last month under federal law with performing genital mutilation on two 7-year-old girls at a suburban Detroit medical clinic.

Another doctor and his wife who ran the clinic also have been charged in that case, believed to mark the first U.S. criminal prosecution of its kind. The three defendants could face prison terms of up to five years if convicted.

Genital mutilation of girls, typically involving removal of all or part of the clitoris, is banned by several international treaties but remains a common cultural or religious practice in some African countries, including Somalia, Sudan and Egypt.

State Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Rick Jones, a sponsor of the legislation, cited recent expert testimony before his panel describing Michigan as a “hotspot” for genital mutilation due to its large community of immigrants from countries where such surgery is still routinely performed.

“It’s been hidden. But now that we’re aware, we want to make a very strong statement to the world – never again in Michigan,” he said.

Aside from carrying tougher penalties than federal statute, Michigan’s legislation would allow arrests and prosecution by local law enforcement.

It also would close a federal loophole by outlawing transportation of girls under age 18 within state boundaries for purposes of undergoing genital surgery, Jones said. Parents or guardians who bring children to Michigan from abroad or are found to have taken them overseas for such procedures could likewise be charged.

The federal law, enacted in 1996, targets practitioners of female genital mutilation as well as individuals who carry a child across state lines to undergo the procedure.

The package of four Republican-sponsored Michigan bills cleared the state Senate unanimously, and Jones said he expects swift House passage and enactment by the governor in a matter of weeks.

Jones said female genital mutilation bans have been passed or were under consideration in several other states, including Minnesota and Texas, but he believed Michigan’s would be the toughest.

The World Health Organization has estimated that more than 200 million girls and women alive today have undergone genital mutilation, which can cause lasting health problems.

Federal judge dismisses Muslim ‘clock boy’ lawsuit against Texas school district

A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by Ahmed Mohamed’s father, saying the family will not get a payout from the city of Irving, Texas or the school district for the ‘clock boy’ scandal, DailyMail.com has learned.

On September 14, 2015, 14-year-old Ahmed gained national attention when his high school teacher suspected he brought a bomb to school.

Ahmed was surprised and showed the teacher it was actually a homemade alarm clock. She told the Muslim teen she would keep it behind her desk for the rest of the day.

Later that day, the teacher called the police who arrested Ahmed at MacArthur High School.  Ahmed’s father, Mohamed Mohamed, claimed the officers were overly forceful in pulling him from his chair. He says they yanked his arms up and behind his back so far that his right hand touched the back of his neck.

Ahmed was booked, finger printed, interrogated and had his mugshot taken for the offense of a ‘hoax bomb’. The charges were later dropped.

Mohamed filed a Federal lawsuit against the City of Irving, Texas and Irving Independent School District accusing them of violating his son’s civil rights.

Court papers obtained by DailyMail.com reveal on May 18, a judge dismissed the entire case. The lawsuit sought unspecified compensatory and punitive damages along with attorney fees.

The judge wrote: ‘Plaintiff does not allege any facts from which this court can reasonably infer that any IISD employee intentionally discriminated against Ahmed Mohamed based on his race or religion.’

Further, he notes that the suit failed to identify any policy, custom, or practice of the City that was allegedly the moving force behind any violation of Ahmed’s Fifth Amendment rights.

When the lawsuit was first filed in 2016, the district hit back at the Mohamed family’s allegations saying Ahmed deliberately disobeyed his teacher by activating the clock despite her warning.

The judge said the  failed to allege any facts from which the court could reasonably conclude that Ahmed was discriminated against based on his race or religion.

The ruling said the suit had: ‘Absent allegations of intentional discrimination, or allegations from which the court can reasonably infer intentional discrimination, Plaintiff fails to allege an equal protection violation against the IISD.’

Prior to filing the most recent lawsuit, the family demanded $15 million dollars in damages in the months after the arrest.

Damages are only granted for intentional discrimination. Mohamed is allowed to file an amended complaint by June 1.

The Double Standard for Muslims and Christians

I’m sure you’ve already seen the unfolding controversy. It seems that country singer Toby Keith agreed to sing for a gathering of the Christian group Promise Keepers. It’s an all-male group. In the name of fostering “comradeship,” the organization planned to restrict attendance to men. That’s what sparked the outrage.

Major articles appeared in Vanity Fair and the New York Times. They denounced the concert as “misogynist” and “transphobic.” Feminist groups condemned Promise-Keepers as “patriarchal woman-haters” who “use the rhetoric of theocracy and male control over women’s bodies.” The National Organization for Women threatened to launch a boycott of the state of Alabama.

Leading Alabama legislators asked state regulators to look into prohibiting the conference. The state’s Chamber of Commerce chimed in to support a ban. It warned of the need to “protect the business atmosphere here for future jobs and investment.”

Priests from the local Jesuit college, Springhill, sponsored a campus-wide “teach-in.” The topic? Female empowerment and the need for more headline female country singers, plus women in the Catholic priesthood.

Spin magazine ran a piece by the head of Toby Keith’s record label. It warned of canceling Keith’s upcoming album.

At last, within 48 hours of the concert being announced, Keith pulled out and apologized. Organizers might cancel the conference itself. Antifa protestors from colleges across the country and leaders of Black Lives Matter warned on social media that they would show up and “disrupt Promise Keepers, disrupt Trump!” Several prominent business leaders on the board of Promise Keepers have withdrawn from membership. Social media protests had targeted their companies’ shareholders and customers.

Okay, Kidding!

Now, strictly speaking, none of the above is true. Not a word.

But did you find it implausible? Or didn’t it seem exactly the way that cultural coercion plays out in today’s America — when conservatives or Christians are involved?

In fact what is happening is this: Mr. Keith is performing at an all-male concert, all right. But it is in Saudi Arabia. The concert coincides with Donald Trump’s state visit to that theocratic absolute monarchy. CNN reported on the concert. It didn’t even mention that women can’t attend. Excluded. CBS News did note the ban on both women and beer. But it didn’t seem to consider either exclusion controversial. It just noted the female ban deadpan, as if reporting on the weather. Spin magazine weighed in, but only to snark about Keith’s apparent fondness for Donald Trump.

I was only able to find one prominent voice criticizing the concert for keeping out women. Washington Post blogger Alyssa Rosenberg wrote a piece. She complained that the concert is “segregated.” She noted briefly that the Saudi government oppresses women. But even she spent more than half her column sniping at Keith for his right-leaning views.

Strict Scrutiny for Westerners, Whites, and Christians

Isn’t that funny? Why are mostly white, Western or Christian institutions subject to the strictest scrutiny? Progressives weigh their every policy against the latest list of tender sensibilities. Their every choice goes under a microscope. Does it offend one of an ever-expanding (updated hourly) list of “marginalized” groups? Any violation will be punished with maximum savagery, innocent bystanders be damned.

Muslim Autocracies Are Just Exotic and Cool

But whole countries like Saudi Arabia get a pass. Meanwhile, their record of abusing women is staggering and inhuman. Rape victims in Saudi Arabia can be flogged for committing adultery. The only loophole? If they can produce four adult male witnesses to testify that the sex was non-consensual. There is no law forbidding marital or statutory rape.

Saudi women miss out on a lot more than Toby Keith concerts. They cannot drive cars. The reasons I’ve seen listed for that vary according to the Islamic cleric cited. They range from dangers to women’s reproductive systems, to that well-known side-effect of riding over bumpy roads: insatiable sexual arousal.

Saudi Arabia regularly executes homosexuals. And Muslims who announce they are leaving Islam. Indeed, that country is one of the most aggressive on earth in employing the death penalty for a wide variety of offenses. Child marriage is common. Likewise forced marriages imposed on women by their fathers and brothers.

Christian churches, bibles, and symbols are totally prohibited. They’re even denied to the thousands of enserfed foreign workers who toil in Saudi households. Even embassies (technically foreign soil) come under the ban. Female genital mutilation is widespread in parts of the country.

None of this stopped Hillary Clinton from recruiting Huma Abedin as her “body woman” and likely chief of staff (had she won). Abedin worked with her family on a Saudi-founded and funded journal promoting Saudi-style sharia around the world. None of this stopped Georgetown University from accepting $20 million from a Saudi prince in 2008 to fund its Islamic studies program. Flashback to 1978: Would Georgetown have taken that kind of money from the Republic of South Africa, for a program on race relations?

Treating Muslims Like Mischievous Pets

There’s a powerful double standard at work. It comes to us via multiculturalism. We only hold white, Western, and especially Christian institutions to fully human standards. We treat Muslims in particular as if they were lovable, mischievous pets. The same progressives who denounce Christian churches as “patriarchal” damn critics of Islam as “Islamophobes.” That’s deeply degrading to Muslims as human beings. Much more importantly, it is dangerous to us.

Since I believe that Muslims and country singers are equally human, I’ll say it: I don’t think Toby Keith should sing in Saudi Arabia. I don’t think President Trump should visit that hell on earth, or that the U.S. should pretend that the country is an ally. Instead it is the Comintern for the new face of totalitarianism — a country that exports jihad and jihadists, that accepted zero refugees from Syria but spent millions building them mosques in Germany and Sweden, that keeps a fragile peace in its unjust society by projecting discontent outward: into the West, where we are the victims. Christian Artists’ Free Speech: Will SCOTUS Take up Vital Issue?

Should artists be forced to promote messages against their conscience? The Supreme Court could be taking up the question soon, if a recent lower-court ruling out of Kentucky is any indication.

Late last week, news broke that the Kentucky Court of Appeals sided with Hands On Originals, a print shop in the Bluegrass State, saying that business owner Blaine Adamson did not have to engage in business that conflicts with his religious beliefs. The ruling comes five years after he told a prospective client that he could not make T-shirts for a gay pride festival in 2012.

The Associated Press has more details:

Chief Judge Joy Kramer wrote in her opinion that the city’s ordinance prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation does not prohibit the owners of Hands On Originals from “engaging in viewpoint or message censorship.” Kramer said the business objected to the message of gay pride, not anyone’s sexual orientation.

“Thus, although the menu of services HOO provides to the public is accordingly limited, and censors certain points of view, it is the same limited menu HOO offers to every customer and is not, therefore, prohibited by the fairness ordinance,” the ruling states.

The legal question at hand is one of the biggest religious liberty issues facing the country, as religious business owners have faced a number of struggles following the 2015 “Obergefell v. Hodges” gay marriage decision and a slew of state-level LGBT laws that seek to eliminate traditional beliefs on marriage, biology, and sexuality from the marketplace.

Plaintiffs argue that not creating pro-LGBT messages amounts to class-based discrimination prohibited in federal law. Proponents argue that this is inaccurate and that it constitutes abstaining from an action based on belief – a long-respected protection of the First Amendment.

The Kentucky ruling differs from other recent lower-court rulings on similar questions. The Washington Supreme Court ruled that a Christian florist was not within her rights to decline serving a same-sex wedding ceremony.

Now that the lower courts have split in their opinions, the issue is more appealing for the U.S. Supreme Court, Jim Campbell, senior counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom, tells Conservative Review. ADF is the pro-religious liberty legal nonprofit representing Blaine Adamson in Kentucky.

The case to watch now is that of owner Jack Phillips and Masterpiece Cake Shop in Lakewood, Colo. Phillips was recently turned down by the Colorado Supreme Court after the Colorado Civil Rights Commission previously found him guilty of discrimination, but it could very well be on the docket for the next judicial session in D.C.

(As ADF notes, “In contrast to the ruling against Phillips, the commission found last year that three other Denver cake artists were not guilty of creed discrimination when they declined a Christian customer’s request for a cake that reflected his religious opposition to same-sex marriage.”)

“They’re holding [the case] for two months now, which is kind of odd,” Campbell says. “Whenever they’re holding something, it obviously means that it’s caught someone’s attention. Which is a good sign … because the default is to be denied.” He says a decision on the petition could come as soon as Monday.

There are a handful of other cases that all evaluate the intersection of conscience rights, free expression, and non-discrimination that are currently working through the courts. Should the current petition on Masterpiece be denied, these cases will likely continue to work their own ways up in its stead.

But there are still many variables in this equation. Despite the messianic treatment Neil Gorsuch received from many conservatives, and as often as he is used as the go-to counter-example to complaints about Trump’s betrayals on a host of other issues (like immigration and religious liberty), one must remember that there are still eight other justices on the high bench. In replacing Antonin Scalia, the balance of the court was restored to the same makeup that gave the American people decisions like “Obergefell” and “Windsor.”

Hopeful rumors are currently buzzing around the beltway conservative enclaves about the prospect of Justice Anthony Kennedy’s retirement this summer. If true, the vacant seat and nuclear appointment rules would give the Trump administration the ability to tip the balance of the bench in a more originalist direction, which would bode well for any of these cases. But this nothing more than speculation and rumor at this point.

A multitude of factors affect the final outcome. Will the First Amendment be weakened or buttressed in post-Obergefell America? It would appear that the answer will not have to wait very long — at least on judicial time. Federal Lawsuit Contends Transgenderism Is a Mental Disorder

A Friday story from Reuters highlights a federal district court’s decision to proceed with a lawsuit from Kate Lynn Blatt – a man who imagines himself a woman – who claims that he has been discriminated against by his employer under the Americans with Disabilities Act because of his condition:

But U.S. District Judge Joseph Leeson avoided ruling on the constitutionality of the ADA, as the plaintiffs had sought, under the legal principle that courts should avoid decisions on constitutional grounds if possible. Being transgender is not considered a disorder by the American Psychiatric Association [APA], but it can give rise to gender dysphoria, a type of anxiety that may require medical treatment. Gender dysphoria forms Blatt’s basis for making a claim under the ADA. Leeson, from the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, found that simply being transgender would be insufficient to bring a case, but that gender dysphoria was a medical condition worthy of protection against discrimination.

According to an amicus brief from GLAD – a Massachusetts-based LGBT legal nonprofit – the explicit exclusion of “gender identity disorder” language in the 1990 version of the current law constitutes a violation of trans peoples’ constitutional rights. And that the “updated diagnosis of gender dysphoria (GD) in fact falls outside the scope of that exclusion as defined in the law,” implying that the law should be rewritten by judges as medical opinions shift.

This is where the rhetoric around the issue of transgenderism and employment law gets incredibly muddled.

There is currently another case moving through the federal circuit which makes the claim that being transgender should be held on the same grounds as race or sex. The plaintiff Kate Lynn Blatt found some receptive ears in the 7th Circuit, which went so far in its ruling to brazenly admit that it was taking the legislative task of rewriting federal discrimination law, rather than simply applying it, because Congress “may not have realized or understood the full scope of the words it chose” when it passed the law in the first place.

While this case invokes the Americans with Disabilities Act and demands protection under that statutory framework, it has the same end game of other cases that invoke federal civil rights law to claim that being transgender is no different than race or sex.

The American Psychiatric Association claims – at least according to the Reuters report – that gender dysphoria and simply being transgendered are two different things. The assertion, contrasted with the group’s own definition of the disorder, smacks of capriciousness and political correctness.

So the question then becomes whether or not imagining oneself to be a different sex than that of their biological makeup is something innate, or whether it is a mental disorder on the same tier as substance addiction or depression.

It is not something to be indulged. Nobody holds pride parades to celebrate the excesses of alcoholism, and nobody wants to inculcate grade-school children with the idea that the side-effects of schizophrenia are something to be revered and respected.

Nobody tells people with anorexia that they really are the fat person they see in the mirror, that starving themselves to make their body match their delusions is a compassionate response, and that anyone who doesn’t agree is bigoted. Rather, these are things that we view as destructive to the wellbeing of the human person — something to be addressed with charity, mercy, understanding, and, overall, some kind of correctional treatment.

So now there are two competing narratives before our judicial system. Either someone like Blatt is a woman simply because they say they are, or there is indeed a disorder at work that puts the person at odds with reality.

While some highly skilled philosophical contortionist in our court system may indeed find a way to make these two assertions work in tandem, these two assertions cannot coexist in an intellectually honest discussion. Either transgenderism is reality, or it is a disorder; it cannot be both. {rickwells.us} ~ Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch joined Charles Payne for a discussion of the Comey memos which soon expanded into the issue of the Democrat’s Special Prosecutor being appointed... Fitton had made a recommendation that Mark Levin had also suggested, that all of the supposed memos of James Comey be released. Why only release one that is favorable to him in his attacks on the President? Release the ones that he’s been keeping on everybody, if, he is as he proclaims to be, a prolific historian of the personal, “private” conversations. Fitton says, “That would be the shocking thing to do here in Washington, which is just to release the information. You know these notes or memos or whatever the document is, presuming it exists, is being characterized by a third party. So let’s get the document out there, see what the context is, see what Comey actually said or wrote and then make some judgment calls based on that.”... http://rickwells.us/fitton-release-comey-memos-doesnt-trust-fbi-leadership-mueller-potential-disaster/

Mueller, Comey have had long, close relationship
by Cody Derespina
{foxnews.com} ~ The man tasked with investigating possible meddling by Russia in the 2016 presidential election – a probe that will likely encompass President Trump’s recent firing of FBI Director James Comey... once called Comey “one of the finest people I’ve ever met.” Robert Mueller, Comey’s predecessor at FBI from 2001-2013, has a lengthy, close and somewhat controversial history with the man suddenly at the center of investigations swirling around Trump. Mueller on Wednesday evening was appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein as special counsel to oversee the Justice Department’s investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the U.S. presidential election and related issues. Trump’s critics contend several of his top campaign aides – including onetime campaign chair Paul Manafort, adviser Carter Page and former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn – had suspicious, if not illicit, contacts with Kremlin-linked officials. Trump has denied any collusion with the Russian government and no evidence has been publicly presented to show such collusion... http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/05/18/mueller-comey-have-had-long-close-relationship.html

{rickwells.us} ~ Looking towards the future possibility that former FBI Director James Comey might appear before a Congressional committee, Mark Levin outlines the way he would approach questioning him, with specifics... He would start by asking, “Mr. Comey, you say you kept memoranda and notes, is that correct? Did you keep notes on your conversations with ‘president’ liar-nObama? Where are those notes now, Mr. Comey? Did you keep notes on your conversations with Attorney General Eric Holder? Where are those notes now, Mr. Comey? Did you keep notes on your conversations with Attorney General Loretta Lynch? Did you keep any notes on any conversations you had with reporters or journalists, Mr. Comey? Where are those notes now? {wnd.com} ~ When one considers some of the conventions currently being advanced with religious zeal by the political left, it’s pretty easy to assess them as being manifestly insane. The notion that individuals from other nations who arrive here illegally somehow have a right to remain here even if they’ve committed violent crimes is certainly one example. The notion that individuals from nations that despise America ought not be barred from entry or at least thoroughly vetted is another. When liberals support and defend people who would kill them in a heartbeat, as gay activists and feminists do when they advocate for what they perceive to be the rights of militant Muslims, they illustrate yet another.

Obviously, some who’ve bought into this lunacy are horribly misguided; others are poisonous ideologues who hate this nation. I’ve maintained for a long time that allowing these people to hijack political processes based upon abstract, subverted interpretations of the First Amendment is dangerous folly.

Last month a landlord in Canada was ordered to pay $12,000 to a Muslim couple who rented an apartment from him, according to the Toronto Sun. Why? While showing the space to potential occupants, the landlord forgot to remove his shoes in an area where the tenants prayed.

It will probably come as no surprise that the landlord happens to be a Christian.

The fine was levied by Canada’s Human Rights Tribunal, the same organization that dispatches spies to Canadian churches to ensure that pastors aren’t quoting Leviticus or something that might similarly have the potential to hurt the feelings of some homosexual somewhere, because that sort of thing – like failing to observe Islamic doctrine in the presence of a Muslim – has been outlawed in Canada as well.

Those of anti-Islamist and pro-Israel sentiments are currently having a field day debating the issue of the City University of New York (CUNY) having made a decision to host Shariah law advocate Linda Sarsour as their 2017 commencement speaker. Sarsour, a singularly repellant individual, is a barefaced anti-Semite who has advocated violence against Jews and non-Jews who resist the inculcation of Islamic doctrine and Shariah law into Western institutions.

While CUNY’s decision to host Sarsour is obviously a step toward instituting Shariah in America, it is in actuality a furtive effort to further normalize anti-American sensibilities in general. This is the same modus operandi that was employed in Europe and Canada to bring about such things as “hate speech” laws and human rights tribunals. It also bears mentioning that neither CUNY nor Sarsour would have been so bold prior to Barack Hussein liar-nObama having given so much latitude to Islamists during his administration.

It is the intention of our international socialist overlords that their political power as well as that of various subversive leftist subgroups and Islamists be sufficiently cemented so that by the time Americans realize what’s going on, the only way to reverse the trend would be taking to the streets and slaying our enemies en masse – in other words, civil war. This they desire because they know that most Americans would never countenance such action.

Many parents admonish their grade school-aged children never to strike another child unless they’re struck first. This is preposterous, if for no other reason than the first person struck is often in no condition to strike back. After all, you wouldn’t let someone shoot or stab you first, would you? I taught my children that if they even suspected that another kid was about to hit them, they were to immediately and decisively dispatch that individual, since I would rather pay a visit to the principal’s office than the emergency room any day. For the record, this advice served them very well.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

– First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America

Organized, aggressive grass-roots responses to bigots like Sarsour, their benefactors and sundry subversive activists will be necessary to prevent unhappy scenarios such as that involving the Canadian landlord from becoming commonplace in America. A movement, so to speak, involving the same people in the same numbers as those which elected Donald Trump could certainly accomplish this. In so doing, Americans will have to become impervious to the left’s obsequious accusations of racism and the notorious “phobe” suffix. A litmus test for those seeking public office must be instituted among voters; Muslims candidates and those sympathetic to Shariah law or the establishment of protected classes of people in general should be universally excluded from consideration.

Let us be clear; these are not First Amendment issues, because if Congress has made no law addressing them, the free speech argument is wholly specious.

The rationale for a wholesale political disenfranchisement of pro-Shariah and Islamic activists in general is simple, and one I’ve articulated previously: It matters little if there are peaceful Muslims living among us, or peaceful schools of Islam. In an emerging non-native Muslim population, militancy within that population will inevitably manifest. It may take years or decades or a century, but it will definitely occur, and we have 1,400 years of hard evidence in the form of Islam’s history to support this fact.

Wanna see Democrats and media hacks weep? Hand them this list!
(
familysecuritymatters.org} ~ Since President Trump was inaugurated on January 20, 2017, a number of people have scrupulously monitored his accomplishments. They include Sean Hannity's producer Sweet Baby James, Gateway Pundit founder Jim Hoft, conservative commentator and former presidential candidate Gary Bauer, and Jeff Dunetz, creator of the blog The Lid, among others. The listing below was compiled by the above-mentioned people and represents many but not all of the non-stop accomplishments of President Trump--the juggernaut--during his first three months in office.

But the list does not elaborate on the accomplishments of the first three weeks of the fourth month, which include, among other things, the completion of his cabinet appointments, signing a cybersecurity executive order for a sweeping review of the federal government's digital vulnerabilities and the adoption of specific security practices; an unprecedented trade deal with China involving certain foods, natural gas, and biotech products; creating a voter-fraud commission to clean up the system; preparation for a devastating cyberattack against America's electric grid; and the firing of FBI Director James Comey. Nor is there any mention of the hundreds if not thousands of personal phone calls the president has made to shakers and movers in the U.S. as well as world leaders.

99 percent of the media--the jerks--are a de facto arm of the Democratic National Committee

If these accomplishments are not familiar, that's because 99 percent of the media--the jerks--are a de facto arm of the Democratic National Committee and the far-left fringe, and are so terminally distressed by the fact that Mr. Trump won the presidency that they obstinately refuse to report what by any objective standards is the news. This is because:
*They've been pushing leftist values for well over a half century and are unable to admit that their anti-Trump, pro/liar-Hillary message was an utter and complete failure.
*They are part and parcel of the vast, contaminated, rancid, crooked, pay-for-play, corrupt swamp that candidate Trump promised to drain, and President Trump is now draining.
*The man they mock--for his syntax and phrasing, style of governing, unpredictability, and so-called contradictions--has both confounded and trumped them at every turn.
This is why they remain fixated on the fairy tale of a Trump-Russian connection. They have nothing else--as in nothing!

LIGHTNING

*235,000 jobs were added to our economy in February, 100,000 more than expected;
*40 percent fewer illegal immigrants crossed our border;
*$3 trillion was added to the stock market;
*Judge Gorsuch, a constitutionalist worthy of Justice Scalia's seat, was nominated to the Supreme Court.

*appointments of Vice President Mike Pence, pro-life conservative;
*Justice Neil Gorsuch, an originalist committed to the Constitution;
*Attorney General Jeff Sessions, staunch conservative committed to the rule of law;
*Defense Secretary James Mattis, a warrior committed to restoring America's military;
*Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly, a former general committed to border security;
*Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, a former CEO who understands how the real world works;
*Housing and Urban Development Secretary Dr. Ben Carson, a brain surgeon from a humble background;
*Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price, a doctor who understands health care;

UP, UP & AWAY

*Named former Congressman Scott Garrett, an outspoken critic of the *Export-Import Bank to the bank's Board of Directors
*Today, U.S. unemployment is at its lowest level since 1988!
The U.S. debt decreased by $100 billion during Pres. Trump's first hundred days; the U.S. Manufacturing Index soared to a 33-year high! In the first month alone, he added 298,000 jobs; housing sales are off the charts right now...in 2011, the average time a house was on the market was 84 days, now, it's just 45 days; illegal immigration is down 67% since the Inauguration; NATO announced Allied spending is up $10 billion.

This Mt. Everest of accomplishments belongs to a man who is straight out of central casting. Every day, he looks like a million dollars and is stunningly successful in his dealings with everyone from heads of state to manual laborers to ardent fans to entrenched skeptics. Every day, he brings both ebullience and laser-like focus to a job he clearly relishes, displays admirable courage in making hard choices, and is zooming along at warp speed to Make America Great Again!

All this while never hesitating to take on the sacred cows of the leftist jerks among us--political correctness and global warming rank high--and to illuminate the public about the widespread scourge of the fake news and fake polls that those same leftist jerks tried but failed to foist upon us in the November election.

It was easy for the media when all they had to do was pretend that 94-million unemployed citizens, a weakened military, alienated allies, a genocidal Iran deal, and unprecedented escalation of Muslim Brotherhood operatives implanted in the highest reaches of our government, and an increase in the national debt by $9 trillion to almost $20 trillion, were nothing to worry about--all while they asked the guy in the Oval Office what his favorite ice-cream flavor was!

Now there's a grown-up in charge and the children among us Democrats, leftists, progressives, whatever they're calling themselves these days are as ineffectual--indeed, impotent--as they were when Donald J. Trump announced for the presidency in June of 2015.

Reading the headlines from much of the mainstream media's news reporting has become eerily similar to browsing the latest salacious tabloid covers in the check-out line at the local grocery store.
According to The Washington Post and its unnamed sources, Donald Trump disclosed "highly classified information" to the Russian foreign minister which "jeopardized a critical source of intelligence on the Islamic State." One problem: National Security Advisor Gen. H.R. McMaster says these sources were not even present during Trump's meeting. As we noted yesterday, per McMaster and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, this dezinformatsiya was not the case. And yet the Post stands by the charges of its unnamed sources, and the Leftmedia at large demand Trump answer for his supposed careless, dangerous and maybe illegal action. Talk about the tail wagging the dog.
And then on Tuesday, tag-teaming off the Post's successful scandal spin, The New York Times threw out its latest hearsay hit piece — the supposed existence of a memo written by former FBI Director James Comey. Once again according to unnamed sources, the Times alleges that in a meeting this past January between Trump and Comey, the president requested that the then-FBI director end an investigation into Gen. Mike Flynn, Trump's then-national security advisor. Now, the Times admits that it hasn't actually seen the memo, but suggests that it's legitimate anyway. No comment yet from Comey. One would think a responsible journalist would seek to both obtain an actual copy of the memo in question, authenticate its veracity and seek a comment from its author, before basing a blockbuster on hearsay.
On a side note: If the implication of the memo turns out to be true, then obviously Trump has something to answer for. But Comey would also find himself in hot water for breaking the law by failing to report immediately to the Justice Department an attempt to interfere in a federal investigation, irrespective of who made the request. In other words, Comey would know better, and since he didn't act then, it implies that there's little substance to this story. It's just more rumor and speculation being passed off by the Times as legitimate news.
Why did The Washington Post lower its journalistic standards to those of the National Enquirer? And when did The New York Times start answering to the execs at the Globe? When did mere hearsay and rumors reach the level of need-to-know reporting, and at what point did the account of "unnamed sources" rise to a level of greater legitimacy than statements from senior officials on record? While those questions may be somewhat hyperbolic, the fact of the matter is that MSM journalistic standards have taken a nose dive in the era of Trump.
Once again, the Leftmedia objective is to take Trump down because they both enjoy an increase in readership and ad revenue and they object to Trump's reforming agenda. But honestly, Trump has made himself an easy target, and he's all too willing to get dirty with the pig. This injures him in two ways: It lends greater legitimacy to the MSM and it proves to distract both him and Republicans from plowing forward with enacting government reforms. ~The Patriot Post

{rickwells.us} ~ They’re popping the champagne at the DNC and in various swamp watering holes across the sewer that is our nation’s capital, one of the many traitors within the Trump administration has, as is typical, given in to Democrat demands... Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has named former FBI Director Robert Mueller, a longtime associate of the fired former FBI Director James Comey, as the Special Prosecutor they’ve been lusting for. As Catherine Herridge noted, Comey and Mueller stood together in opposition to a White House surveillance program. We can only imagine whether or not their camaraderie extends to today and to what degree the firing has trigger an angry reaction within the former Director, Mueller. Now the charade begins in earnest. Perhaps his first act should be to recuse himself from the investigation due to that relationship, an act that we might see if Mueller were in actuality the man of integrity that is alleged. We remember when Comey was held in that same undeserved high regard... http://rickwells.us/democrat-demands-met-again-mueller-special-prosecutor-war-trump-escalates/

{truthrevolt.org} ~ Patricia McCarthy over at the American Thinker has a provocative article about how absolutely stark raving mad the media and the Democrats have gone over the election of Donald Trump... McCarthy believes their hyperbole is going to backfire: Yet the more they double- and triple-down on their strategy and tactics, the more the American people realize how thoroughly demented are the media and their Democrat lapdogs.  The more they contrive new tales of misconduct, chaos and/or incompetence, the more the rest of us realize how threatened they are by his  successes:   unemployment is down, illegal border crossings are down, the stock market is just fine, and the rescue of our medical care has begun. The more the media and the Democrats are driven mad by his policies -- the reining in of the EPA, reviewing liar-nObama's federal land grabs, enforcing immigration laws that liar-nObama did not, taking hard lines on Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, ISIS, the more we anti-establishment folks out here in flyover country cheer his every move... http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/have-democrats-and-media-signed-suicide-pact

{wnd.com} ~ Former FBI Director James Comey’s decision last year to clear liar-Hillary Clinton of gross negligence in handling classified information was met with so much frustration within the FBI that Comey felt compelled to put out a bureau-wide memo to employees defending his actions... He chose to further explain himself in meetings with groups of disgruntled veteran FBI agents during visits to field offices around the country. The moves appear to contradict last week’s congressional testimony by acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe, who swore his newly fired boss “enjoyed broad support” among the FBI’s rank-and-file and that bureau “morale has always been good.”... http://www.wnd.com/2017/05/comey-memo-belies-claims-of-high-fbi-morale/

{townhall.com} ~Calls for a special prosecutor to investigate the Russia-Trump affair have multiplied in the days since President Trump fired FBI director James Comey. Almost invariably, Democrats and others calling for a prosecutor say such a step is needed to "get to the bottom" of the matter.

Yet there is still uncertainty among the public about whether anything lies at the bottom of the Russia-Trump controversy. Is there a crime down there? No one seems to know. The reason is simple: The FBI, which has been investigating alleged ties between Trump campaign figures and Russia for ten months, won't say.

To question after question; not just from the press, but from lawmakers with a constitutional responsibility to oversee the FBI, the Justice Department, and the intelligence agencies -- answers have been withheld on the grounds that they are classified, or the subject of an ongoing investigation, or both.

"I can't answer that," said Comey on many, many occasions during oversight hearings on the Russia affair.

"My answer would require me to reveal classified information, and so I can't answer that," said former acting attorney general Sally Yates in the same setting.

"I can't comment on that," said former intelligence chief James Clapper.

Now, as the Russia-Trump controversy festers, there are signs of growing impatience with the secrecy. Some lawmakers -- among them the Republican chairman and the Democratic ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee -- are pushing the FBI and other agencies involved to let Congress know what they are doing. In particular, lawmakers want to see evidence -- if there is any -- to show why the investigation is focusing not just on Russian misdeeds -- there's no doubt there are plenty of those to investigate -- but on Trump campaign figures, and possibly on the president himself.

On Friday, Judiciary Committee chairman Charles Grassley and ranking Democrat Dianne Feinstein sent a letter to FBI acting director Andrew McCabe and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein demanding briefings on the latest in the Russia investigation. The last paragraph of the letter indicated that the senators' patience is running thin. "Please contact staff by 5:00 p.m. today to schedule the briefings," Grassley and Feinstein wrote. "Thank you for your immediate attention to these important matters."

Not by tomorrow, not by Monday, not by the end of the week. Grassley and Feinstein wanted a response by 5:00 p.m. on the day of the letter. Given that the power of both parties is behind the request, they will most likely get what they want.

The day before, on Thursday, Grassley and Feinstein made news when they strongly suggested that Comey told them President Trump is not under investigation in the Russia matter. In a public committee meeting, Grassley said that when Trump said recently he had been informed he is not under investigation, "Sen. Feinstein and I heard nothing that contradicted the president's statement."

"I very much appreciate what you've said," Feinstein said to Grassley. "And it's very accurate ..."

A short time later, a Republican aide explained that Grassley was deeply concerned by last week's events. "We've seen an uptick in speculation about what has or hasn't happened," the aide said, "and what has or has not been found -- and that's not helpful if it is speculation not based on anything other than rumor or anything factual."

Now, others on Capitol Hill are expressing similar concerns. "It's hard to do oversight, especially on counter-intelligence matters, with so little information," said a Senate Republican Sunday. "That's been true for months."

"There is a counter-intelligence investigation focused on Russia, but the media and the Democrats conflate that with there being a criminal investigation focused on Trump," added a House Republican. "The FBI has fed into this by being coy."

"Coy" is an understatement. The result of the dozens of questions left unanswered by Comey, Yates, Clapper, and others is that the public -- and, to a lesser extent, lawmakers themselves -- don't know the basics of the Russia-Trump matter.

But what to do? Classified information is still classified information. Ongoing investigations are conducted in secrecy except, of course, for leaks. How can Congress pry information out of the agencies?

"Congress can always coerce the FBI," said former House Speaker Newt Gingrich in an email exchange Sunday. "Power of the purse. Change the law."

"Senators can make it an issue in the confirmation process for a new FBI director," the House Republican quoted earlier said.

Maybe so. Right now, though, it appears that bipartisan pressure, like that coming from Grassley and Feinstein, might help get information out. Does all of the information the FBI and other agencies have classified actually need to be classified? Can nothing more be made public? Republicans and Democrats in the House and Senate could push hard on those questions.

In addition, Grassley and Feinstein want the FBI to brief every member of the Judiciary Committee, not just the chairman and ranking member. Just as a practical matter -- multiplying the number of people on the committee who know the facts by 10 -- that will certainly make it more likely that information will get out.

If nothing changes, the country could be facing months and months of accusations without voters knowing their basis in fact -- or lack of basis in fact. Meanwhile, the FBI and other agencies could remain "coy" while Democrats seek to create the impression in the public's mind that Trump and his aides colluded with Russia to throw the 2016 election. If the Trump team did that, the public needs to know. If they didn't, the public needs to know that, too. Soon.

‘FAITHKEEPERS’ – A groundbreaking new documentary that sounds the alarm on Christian genocide by Muslims worldwide

( Muslims do not assimilate, they infiltrate )

On May 23rd, Clarion Project’s new documentary ‘Faithkeepers’ will be released. This film is about the persecution of minorities in the Middle East. There is genocide happening against Christians and other minorities in Islamic countries and people are unaware or indifferent to this enormous tragedy,” noted Jeremy Cardash, Clarion’s Director of Marketing.

For more information: FAITHKEEPERS

BIN  In nearly every Islamic country worldwide, religious minorities are being persecuted at unprecedented levels. Hundreds are murdered each day and already thousands have become refugees fleeing from religious persecution. Places of worship have been torched or raised and yet, there is no world outcry.

The Clarion Project, a nonprofit organization founded in 2006, is working to wake up the sleeping masses with a new, groundbreaking film about Islam called “Faithkeepers – Sound the Alarm on Christian Genocide. With the release of their fifth film exposing the dangers of Islamic extremism, Clarion strives to provide a platform for the voices of moderation and encourage grassroots activism.

“This film is about the persecution of minorities in the Middle East. Like Rwanda and Kosovo where millions of people were murdered in cold blood and the world was silent, there is genocide happening against Christians and other minorities in Islamic countries and people are unaware or indifferent to this enormous tragedy,” noted Jeremy Cardash, Clarion’s Director of Marketing, to Breaking Israel News.

Christians and other minorities are presently being expelled, persecuted and annihilated in Islamic countries. In 1915, Christians made up 20 percent of the Middle East population. In 2015, only 5 percent of the Middle East are Christian with the numbers dwindling moment to moment.

“Non-Muslims, such as those who observe the Baha’i, Yazidi and other religions that do not follow Islam, are considered infidels and devil worshippers,” explained Cardash. “The film highlights the plight of minorities through first hand testimonies from those who have managed to escape persecution, what crimes against humanity are actually happening in these countries and what people can do to help.”

Any semblance of non-Islamic religions, such as houses of worship, are systematically being destroyed throughout Iraq, Syria, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Indonesia, Sudan, Egypt and nearly every other Islamic country.

In Saudi Arabia, there is no longer a single church standing. The penalty for smuggling Bibles into the country is now death. Even as US President Barack Obama labels Indonesia a “moderate” Muslim country, churches are routinely burned, razed or vandalized there.

“ISIS is destroying all evidence of Christianity along with the murdering of non-Muslims. This is part of Islamic theology,” noted Cardash. “For thousands of years, there were Christian pilgrimages to these countries and their holy sites. Today, even Christian graveyards are being destroyed.”

Paula Kweskin, “Faithkeepers” producer, explained, “Jesus was born in the Middle East and walked these lands. Middle Eastern communities were the first to accept Christianity. It is appalling that ISIS is erasing thousands of years of Christian history in the region with the goal of creating an Islamic world.”

ISIS posted online the mass beheadings of Coptic Christians:

“Genocide is taking place under our watch,” continued Kweskin, who holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights and International Law from the University of North Carolina. “As a Jew from a family of Holocaust survivors, I was raised with the dictate, ‘Never again’. Yet, it is happening again and the world is silent. If we do not do something very soon, it will be too late.”

Doing their part to prevent the “too late” scenario, Clarion has successfully distributed other “must see” films that have proven controversial. “Honor Diaries” discusses the plight of the abuse of women under Islam; “Iranium” highlights Iran’s global support of terrorism and their nuclear program; “The Third Jihad” reveals the dangers of Islam in the US; and “Obsession” details Islam’s goal for world domination. These films have already reached millions of people and received critical acclaim for their quality and importance.

Las Vegas: Mosque Billboards Claim ‘Making America Great’ with Islam

( ( Muslims do not assimilate, they infiltrate )

Making America Islamic!

Source: Mosque Buys Billboards Around Las Vegas: ‘Making America Great’ with Islam | Truth Revolt – Trey Sanchez

At first glance, it appears as though President Trump’s campaign signs have popped up on billboards around Las Vegas. But upon closer inspection, the “Make America Great Again” message has been co-opted by a local mosque to push Islam.

The signs that appear in several locations near the Vegas strip read, “Making America great with love, compassion, and mercy.” Then there is a telephone number and website to reach “Why Islam.” The billboards were paid for by Masjid As Sabur, the first Muslim community organization for the Las Vegas area created back in the early 1970s. The mosque has hosted the likes of Muhammad Ali, his daughter Laila, and Mike Tyson.

Also sponsoring the messages, according to 8 News Now, is the Al-Maun Neighborly Needs of Las Vegas.

In a press release, Imam Fateen Seifullah stated, “Helping to meet our neighbors’ needs through service is a core principle of Islam. Everyone can help to make America great by working together to solve problems and by showing compassionate concerns for all Americans.”

But not all local residents consider this a neighborly sign and made their feelings known on 8 News Now’s Facebook post:

“When Muslims start to openly condemn terrorism and the attacks on Christians and Jews and embrace American culture we can talk. Until then, this all propaganda.

“This billboard also implies that Americans are not compassionate. What Muslim country invaded the beaches of Normandy? America has shown more compassion and sacrifices more than all Muslim countries combined.

Here’s a thought, hang that billboard in Palestine and ask the Muslims there to show this love to Israel.”

“Muslims can increase their respect by helping US to identify our enemy.”

“Thanks tho, we’re good”

Apparently they are in Florida too:

Local residents and all Americans are undoubtedly unaware that the founder of the nationwide Why Islam billboard dawah project has said this about Islam’s plan in America, Director of Islamic dawah ads in his own words:

We should use every opportunity presented or created to sensitize non-Muslim peers and school staff with Islam and establish an environment in which every where a non-Muslims turn, they notice Islam portrayed in a positive way and get influenced by it and eventually accept Islam with Allah’s guidance, insha Allah.

Indeed Islam came to tear down the pillars of kufr and replace them with the pillars of Islam.

It is highly recommended for all Muslims to carry brochures on Islam with them to pass on to non-Muslim classmates, co-workers, neighbors etc. after discussing Islam. Free brochures on various topics on Islam can be obtained by calling 1-718-658-1199 (for U.S. and Canadian residents).

Writing articles in campus and local newspapers on ‘Jesus (pbuh) in Islam’, conducting soup kitchens in impoverished neighborhoods, clothing drives in schools and college campuses for the needy etc. are some proper modes of conduct during the Christmas holiday season.

Thus the hearts and minds of non-Muslims should be exposed to the beautiful message of Islam.

Truth comes, falsehood disappears; Islam came, now shirk must clear.

Georgetown professor Jonathan Brown promotes “religious discrimination” against Jews

( Muslims do not assimilate, the infiltrate )

The radicalization of our nation’s colleges and universities continues apace. Hard-left, antisemitic propaganda has now been institutionalized in academia. The ugliest rhetoric is sanctioned under the guise of “free speech,” while courageous voices for freedom are blacklisted. My colleagues and I are banned from speaking, for the most part. And in the rare instance where we are invited, violent and vicious pandemonium ensues. Robert Spencer’s talk at the University at Buffalo, Milo at Berkeley or mine at Brooklyn College best demonstrate what we face. And yet, Linda Sarsour, a pro-jihad terror activist and vicious anti-Semite is invited to give the keynote commencement address at CUNY (which we are protesting on May 25th here).

Professor Jonathan Brown is a notorious Jew-hater with a long history of anti-Semitic agitation. His wife is the daughter of Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader Sami al-Arian.

“Georgetown professor Jonathan Brown openly rallies for ‘religious discrimination’ against Jews,” Canary Mission, May 18, 2017:

Jonathan Brown [Jonathan A.C. Brown] has demonized Israeli Jews and Judaism. He  has implied that the Palestinian-Israeli conflict could be solved if only “Jews in Israel” were told that “they are not allowed to take stuff that doesn’t belong to them.”

In February of 2017, Brown found himself embroiled in controversy after he was accused of supporting non-consensual sex and slavery in early Islam. The incident is detailed later in this profile.

Brown has endorsed the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement’s attacks on Israel, made under the guise of support for “human rights.”

Brown is a tenured Associate Professor of Islamic Civilization at Georgetown University (Georgetown). He is the Alwaleed bin Talal Chair of Islamic Civilization in Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service (SFS). Brown is also the Director of the Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim Christian Understanding (CMCU) within the SFS. The CMCU is known for its links to the Saudi government.

Brown is son-in-law to Sami Al-Arian, a former University of South Florida (USF) professor, who was revealed in 2006 to be a leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), a specially designated terrorist organization. The United States government deported Al-Arian to Turkey in 2015. Brown’s wife is Al-Jazeera senior producer Laila Al-Arian.

Demonizing Israeli Jews

On February 26, 2015  — at a multi-denominational symposium hosted by the Policy Studies Organization (PSO) titled: “Religious Politics in the Middle East: The Religious Dimension of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict — Brown said: “The problem is that the Israeli political creature, the Israeli political establishment, has not told Jews in Israel that they are not allowed to take stuff that doesn’t belong to them and that is, I think, a fundamental problem… If you can tell people that your religious belief does not give you the right to take the possessions of someone else. Ok? Then If that were established, I think that would completely change, you know, the reality 180 degrees.”

Promoting Faith-Based Segregation

On February 26, 2015, at the above-mentioned symposium, Brown suggested that Americans would have to overcome their “allergy to the idea of religious discrimination” if they wanted to envisage a realistic end to the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. Brown went on to say and that even within the context of a totally secular democratic state, it would be “absolutely disastrous” for Palestinian Muslims or Palestinian Christians if “a Jew’s allowed” to go into the holy places of other religions “and just start praying there.” Brown said that we “need to accept that” Jerusalem might have to become a “very divided city under some kind of international or … external control.”

Later, Brown highlighted the Palestinian’s perception of being “encroached upon” by Israeli Jews and posited that a “clear notion of stable boundaries and separations”  would lead to a “cosmopolitan atmosphere” and help in “building trust.”

Earlier in the symposium, Brown said “I don’t want to say that this isn’t a religious issue, because I think it very clearly is — especially from the Jewish and the Christian perspective — But I think, actually, from the Arab/Muslim perspective not so much.”

Brown argued that even “if you could just erase religion from the minds of Palestinians, they would still have all the problems that they have now” and “the problem would still not be resolved.” Brown also posited that the willingness of fundamental Islamists to fight alongside secular Arabs against Israel showed that the fundamentals of the conflict were not religious.

Brown later posited: I think the religion is the superstructure and the unresolved issues of control and disenfranchisement and land and power and and rights — these are the real issues.”

Presenting BDS as a Muslim Duty

On November 4, 2016, in a podcast titledDiffused Congruence: The American Muslim Experience,” Brown insinuated that Muslims have a religious responsibility to promote BDS. After listing the various religious, cultural and professional affiliations of some people who support BDS — and singling out some Jews, in particular — Brown went on to say: “Who’s the ones who are going against BDS and undermining it now? It’s the young Muslims. Think about that disgrace.” (7:20).

Brown made his comments in the context of slamming a Jewish-Muslim dialogue project known as the Muslim Leadership Initiative (MLI,) which was founded by Imam Abdullah Antepli, the first Muslim chaplain at Duke University. MLI is an educational program for Muslim Americans to “understand why Jews believe what they believe, how Jews see their history, why Jews are so attached to this contested strip of land (Israel) — and thus to better engage with American Jews.” According to Antepli, “MLI aims to put mainstream North American Jewry in conversation with their Muslim counterparts.”

Brown said he had no problem with young Muslims “dialoguing” with Jews or Zionists “anywhere.” However, he said that since the organizers “insisted” that the program be held in Israel, it “should reveal what the actual purpose is… to break the boycott in going there.”

Demanding Israel Surrender “Power”

In the same podcast, after arguing that religious segregation is a necessary prerequisite to trust building, Brown argued the basis for the Arab-Israeli conflict is really a political one, caused by an imbalance of power and resources.

Brown argued that if one group has “armed power… resources and international power” and another group does not, then “until that imbalance is rectified, in some way, there’s not going to be a solution.” Brown said you “can’t have peaceful relations or solving an age-old conflict unless the party that is in power surrenders that – until you have some kind of equitable distribution.”

In his closing remarks, Brown responded to a request for his solution to the psychological-religious divide between the parties. Brown hypothesized that “theoretically for an Islamist” such as “someone in Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ)” will assert that his religious goals might be to “establish an Islamic state here” and “have Sharia Law” and to “drive all the Jews into the sea.”

Challenging “Freedom” and “Consent”

On February 7, 2017, Brown’s comments at a lecture titled “Islam and The Problem of Slavery” made national headlines. Multiple media outlets accused Brown of speaking in favor of slavery and rape —  a claim which Brown denied. The controversy began with a blog post by freelance writer Umar Lee, who attended Brown’s lecture.

On February 8, 2017, it was reported that Brown had conservative journalist Andrew Harrod ejected from the lecture hall, prior to the start of Brown’s formal remarks. Brown referenced the ejection at the beginning of his lecture — and publicly derided the ejected reporter.

Below are a selection of controversial statements Brown made during the lecture and the Q&A period that followed:

In response to a questioner who characterized imposed slavery as a “wrong,”  Brown said: “If you’re Muslim, the prophet of God … had slaves. He had slaves. There’s no denying that. Are you more morally mature than the prophet of God? No, you’re not.”

Brown also said: “Slavery cannot just be treated as a moral evil in and of itself, because ‘slavery’ doesn’t mean anything. The moral evil is extreme forms of deprivation of rights and extreme forms of control and extreme forms of exploitation. I don’t think it’s morally evil to own somebody, because we own lots of people all around us and we’re owned by people.”

On August 9, 2015 — according to a February 11, 2017 screenshot on Twitter — Brown said on Facebook: “I think people have a lot of things mixed up in their minds, forming a sort of outrage soup they can’t deal with. I think one has to proceed in an orderly way 1) slavery is, in general, allowed in Islamic law. 2) It’s very possible (and it’s actually happened) to declare that slavery is no longer permissible whether due to consistent failings in treatment of slaves or the decision of governments for the common good of the Muslim community. 3) But it’s not possible to say that slavery is inherently, absolutely, categorically immoral in all times and places, since it was allowed by the Quran and the Prophet. 4) Slave women do not have agency over their sexual access, so their owner can have sex with them.”

Explaining Non-Consensual Sex

During his February 7, 2017 lecture, Brown challenged modern standards of morality that define human beings as “autonomous agents” and dictate that “the sine qua non of morally correct sex is consent.”

Brown went on to say: “For most of human history, human beings have not thought of consent as the essential feature of morally correct sexual activity. And second, we fetishize the idea of autonomy to the extent that we forget – again, who’s really free? Are we really autonomous people? What does autonomy mean?”

Brown then followed up: “We have this obsession with the idea of autonomy” —  and proceeded to equate the servitude of those pressed into sexual slavery or serving as concubines to individuals subject to voluntarily assumed familial obligations, stemming from marriage.

Walking Back Controversial Statements

On February 17, 2017, Brown defended his statements, in the Washington Post, stating: “These people criticizing me don’t know the difference between the past and the present tense. The talk I gave was historical description.”

On February 16, 2017, Brown wrote an article for the online magazine Muslim Matters where he explained his statements. There, Brown wrote: “As a Muslim today, I can say emphatically that slavery is wrong and that Islam prohibits it … It’s easy for me to say this looking back on slavery in American history, because our American slavery was a manifestation of the absolute domination of one human being by another that is, in my opinion, a universal wrong across time and space.”

On February 11, 2017, Brown tweeted: “Islam as a faith and I as a person condemn slavery, rape and concubinage.”

BDS

The BDS movement was founded in 2005 by Omar Barghouti and asserts that it “works to end international support for Israel’s oppression of Palestinians and pressure Israel to comply with international law.”

BDS initiatives include compelling institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, academic boycotts, anti-Israel rallies and protests.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, backed by university anti-Israel affiliates, student governments have brought to vote on some form of boycott of — or divestment from — Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities. These resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. In 2013, when the student government of the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats and the spitting on a student wearing a Star of David necklace. As a result, the student goThe watchman on the wall sounding the Alarm!

A professor at the University of Hawaii wants to eliminate white men from academia because she believes "actual solutions require women of color and trans people." In a blog for the American Mathematical Society, Assistant Professor of Mathematics Piper Harron, a black female, wrote, "If you are a white cis man (meaning you identify as male and you were assigned male at birth) you almost certainly should resign from your position of power...Not to alarm you, but statistically speaking, you are the problem. Your very presence." While these remarks seem incredulous, they are indicative of a growing civil war fomented by Marxists (progressives and liberals) to overthrow America.

This is not new, it is, however, becoming very public and very loud. Constitutional scholar, radio host and Fox News contributor Douglas V. Gibbs, in his January 2011 blogspot, politicalpistachio, observed: "The United States, however, despite the belief that this is a free country, has been under the assault of the same collectivist forces that guided the Bolsheviks and Soviet communists. American culture has been infiltrated, and though the process of turning our society into a communal system has been much slower, applied in an incremental manner, the American system is also moving in a direction of utopianism under the invisible hand of social engineering, and orchestrated class warfare."

Gibbs continued, " The liberals use political correctness to mask their true intent. They have discouraged any debate over their true motives, censoring their opposition through ridicule and accusations. The discussion has omitted language that may betray their social engineering, income redistribution, class warfare, and any form of affirmative action that might become associated with these foregoing notions. Eliminating these ideas from the public debate, while acting upon them, has enabled them to fill the political discussion with propaganda that pit the wealthy against the poor, the religious against non-believers, sexual perversion against anyone who dares to question the "normalcy" of their abnormal behavior, and of course pitting the various ethnicities and races against each other."

Gibbs' astute observations six years ago have become a rising tide today. It is the dialectic on steroids-thesis, antithesis, synthesis. The more outrageous the claim (the antithesis), the faster people move toward the new thesis (synthesis). These are ingredients for revolution and tyranny. This is a growing civil war in America-pitting people against people, neighbor against neighbor, family members against family members. The organizers are using Donald Trump as their catalyst. As stated in Micah 7:6-7, "For the son dishonors the father, the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house. Therefore, I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me." We must pray and act. We must stand in the gap and make up the hedge.

By Craig Andresen – Right Side Patriots on American Political Radio

Somewhere in a swirl of depression, delusion and desperation, exists the liberal/socialistdin-1.jpg?width=216 party formerly known as democrats. They are unhinged, and more frenzied than a spastic poodle in a room full of ADHD squirrels.

The MINORITY in both halls of congress seems to think they have the power to impeach the president…because they apparently weren’t paying attention to School House Rock as children, and last week, their desperation manifested itself in epic fits of irrelevance.

Just a couple of years ago, Barack Hussein Obama traded 5 Taliban war council members for 1 U.S. traitor, thus releasing the Islamists back into the wild, and theaters of war…and the liberal/socialists said nothing.

No stink was raised by a single liberal anywhere…

Will You Help ‘Slay’ for Planned Parenthood?

Planned Parenthood wants supporters to “slay” by sharing its new ad, directed by Hollywood screenwriter Joss Whedon.

“Every single one of us has a hero inside; and it’s our responsibility to use our superpowers to slay,” states a Planned Parenthood donation page. The abortion group highlights some of Whedon’s best known works, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

The appeal, flanked by an online petition, closes by asking people to “watch it, add your name to join Joss Whedon in standing with Planned Parenthood, and then share, share, share, using #IStandWithPP. That’s how we slay, that’s how we win.”

As The Daily Caller noted, the call to “slay” is a play on the “vampire slaying” that took place in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The word “slay” has also risen in recent popularity as a slang term for “succeed” or “dominate.”

Pro-life groups noted the dark irony of Planned Parenthood adopting the slang term to promote its services. Planned Parenthood performs nearly 35 percent of U.S. abortions (323,999 total in 2014).

“UNLOCKED”

The ad, released Wednesday, features three primary characters. Entitled “UNLOCKED,” it supposedly previews a world without Planned Parenthood.

One teen girl becomes pregnant and is seen crying as she opens a scholarship letter to a university. Another girl appears unable to stop her friend from having sex at a party. Her friend ends up with an STD. A middle-aged mother dies from cancer that was noticed too late. The ad works backwards from the point of tragedy for each character (the scholarship letter, the STD, the death) until you see the three women approaching a Planned Parenthood facility at the same time, only to find it closed and the door locked.

The ad then imagines what would happen had the facility been open. The first teen gets a pack of birth control pills. The second teen takes a sex education course, which she shares with her classmates. The middle aged woman is screened for cancer and is shown celebrating her next birthday.

“If politicians succeed in shutting down Planned Parenthood, millions of people lose access to basic health services. STD testing, birth control, cancer screenings … how can these be at risk?” Whedon said.

Untruthful?

However, data reveals that Planned Parenthood’s non-abortive services are declining, while their abortions continue to rise. Pro-life group Live Action noted in a video last month that the organization performs less than 2 percent of the nation’s cancer screenings. But between 2004 and 2014, its number of annual abortions rose 27 percent.

Most women will never visit Planned Parenthood. Eric Scheidler, executive director for the Pro-Life Action League, previously told The Stream that “four out of five women will never step foot” inside one of its facilities. Additionally, other comprehensive care facilities for women and their families outnumber Planned Parenthood facilities 20 to one.

In April President Donald Trump signed a bill allowing states to stop funding family planning services, including Planned Parenthood. But the nonprofit still receives $500 million annually in government funding. Pro-life advocates have called for a reallocation of those funds to comprehensive health care centers. Jim Mattis Faces a Difficult Decision on the Military’s Transgender Policy

The Pentagon is prepared to implement a new policy clearing the way for transgender men and women to join the armed forces, Military Times has learned, but final approval rests with Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, who could endorse, revise, delay or even abandon it.

Mattis faces a July 1 deadline, according to the parameters defined by his predecessor as defense secretary, Ash Carter. But the sensitive matter has become much more urgent for two transgender students now within days of graduating from the Army and Air Force military academies.

As USA Today first reported May 10, the unidentified cadets were recently informed that, absent a policy formalizing new accession standards, they won’t be commissioned as military officers with the rest of their graduating class. Those proposed guidelines were sent to the defense secretary’s office but Mattis has yet to act on them, according to multiple sources familiar with discussions surrounding the policy’s implementation.

Meanwhile, neither the Army nor the Air Force has granted waivers to the cadets so they may proceed to serve in the active-duty military, causing some to question whether Mattis might decide against the proposed policy. Already, the Trump administration has moved to scale back federal protections for transgender students attending public schools, sending a strong signal it opposes further expanding such rights.

The Air Force Academy holds its graduation May 24 in Colorado Springs. West Point’s ceremony, at which Mattis is slated to provide the commencement address, will be held May 27 in New York.
