The Force Awakens opened this Friday to packed theaters across America. I haven’t seen it for a number of reasons, among which is an unwillingness to tent out for days just to buy tickets. The film will nonetheless make oodles of money, I’m sure, as Star Wars has replaced the Bible as Western civilization’s primary cultural commonality, both relevant and accessible to people across the societal spectrum.

This seventh chapter of the epic space opera may be the first to steer clear of political themes. According to film critic Matt Singer, “The Force Awakens is — arguably to its detriment — completely uninterested in politics.” This newfound political disinterest may have something to do with the fact that Star Wars is no longer the property of its creator, George Lucas, who infused the prequels and, to a lesser extent, the original trilogy, with political overtones.

Star Wars has never been what it appears to be—good clean fun with spaceships and laser beams. Don’t feel bad; that’s what I thought it was too when I was a little kid playing with action figures.

Space ships and laser beams are the packaging not the story. To get to the real story it’s necessary to turn the clock back to April 1973, a time of great disillusionment, when the last American combat troops were withdrawing from Vietnam and the Watergate hearings were only a month away. With these generation-shaping events as a backdrop, twenty-eight year old George Lucas began typing the story of a courageous farm boy from the galaxy’s rural backwaters who took on a rotting empire replete with militarism and darkness—and won.

He told his audience that it all took place “a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away” but its actual setting was both contemporary and terrestrial. Star Wars was an allegory for the world as seen through the eyes of a baby boomer who had come of age on a college campus in the 1960s, who had felt the draft board breathing down his neck, and who had imbibed the spirit of San Francisco, where he was living at the time. The militaristic empire he imagined was his own country and the rebels were communist Vietnamese, though they could have been any number of “anti-imperialist” forces around the globe—the ANC in South Africa, the Tupamaros in Uruguay, etc. The Death Star was a warning against the destructive power of nuclear weapons, though it could be seen as analogous to the Pentagon. Darth Vader? Probably Dick Nixon or just a stand-in for the soulless admirals and generals in command of the war machine.

Lucas had other influences, of course, because inspiration is never that simple. Star Wars was also one part Flash Gordon serial and one part gun-slinging western with a whole heap of Kurosawa’s samurai cinema thrown in. The story also paralleled the Third Reich, starring Darth Vader as Hitler and stormtroopers as, well…stormtroopers.

But it was always about America, the only country George Lucas had ever known. If the film evoked images of Nazi Germany, the logical conclusion was that that’s what America had become or was on the verge of becoming. Star Wars could be read as a cautionary tale of what might happen if we didn’t change course.

Consider some of the notes Lucas scribbled in late 1973: “Aquilae is a small independent country like North Vietnam, threatened by a neighbour or provincial rebellion, instigated by gangsters aided by empire. Fight to get rightful planet back. Half of the system has been lost to gangsters…The empire is like America ten years from now, after gangsters assassinated the emperor and were elevated to power in a rigged election…We are at a turning point: fascism or revolution.”

That’s not exactly the Star Wars we all know and love, largely because Lucas’s concept still had a lot of growing to do, but the framework was there. From its earliest drafts, the script told the story of a scrappy underdog, patterned after North Vietnam, doing battle with a corrupt American empire. The underdog had only his convictions to give him heart, while the empire, which seemed invincible, was actually rotten to the core.

The politics got even more heavy in the prequels, culminating in the hyperpolitical Revenge of the Sith, which the Washington Post jokingly dubbed The Empire Strikes Bush. Actually, the Galactic Empire is Bush, but I understand it’s a fun witticism. Sith’s subliminal messages were not lost on The New York Times’s film reviewer A.O. Scott, who wrote: “’Revenge of the Sith’ is about how a republic dismantles its own democratic principles, about how politics becomes militarized, about how a Manichaean ideology undermines the rational exercise of power. Mr. Lucas is clearly jabbing his light saber in the direction of some real-world political leaders. At one point, Darth Vader…echoing the words of George W. Bush, hisses at Obi-Wan, ‘If you’re not with me, you’re my enemy.’”

That wasn’t really Darth Vader; or not yet. It was Anakin Skywalker, but clearly he was mimicking Bush’s post-9/11 admonition to foreign leaders, “Either you’re with us, or you are with the terrorists.”

So you can imagine my disappointment when I learned that the newest film would abstain from political commentary. That’s really unfortunate because we need it now more than ever. We’re a nation adrift, led by a corrupt, unprincipled political class that seems to have pulled the wool over the eyes of half the population.

Consider for a moment the scene in Revenge of the Sith in which Emperor Palpatine convinces the Senate to cede unprecedented power to him, thus establishing the Galactic Empire “in order to secure the security” of the Republic. Queen Amidala famously remarks “So this is how liberty dies. With thunderous applause.” Lucas was surely knocking Bush though it’s even more relevant today. The scene seemed a clever reference to the PATRIOT Act which, in case you haven’t noticed, is still the law of the land because Barack Obama approved its extension. But the Senate scene was about a lot more than just the PATRIOT Act; it was about our willingness, in times of trouble, to cede the power vested in the people and their elected representatives to a single charismatic leader. In light of Obama’s imperial presidency, the scene has assumed new meaning.

Richard Nixon and George W. Bush weren’t great presidents but neither were they Emperor Palpatine. I can’t say the same about President Obama who really does bear a striking resemblance to that wrinkled geezer in a hoody. So why can’t we make a movie about his policies, about his administration?

The Obama Administration has given us so much material to work with, the script would practically write itself. Imagine an evil Sith Lord who sweeps away any restraints on his authority with the words, “If the Senate won’t act, I will” or “We can’t wait for (fill in the blank).” The same Sith Lord could go to war in a sandy place resembling Tatooine without the approval of the Senate. Here’s a better one—the aforementioned villain pits one alien race against another (Jawas vs. Ewoks?) with his constantly divisive rhetoric, then uses the crisis to snatch up all the blasters and lightsabers in the galaxy. Stormtroopers go planet to planet, kicking down doors and confiscating anything that resembles a weapon. One of the Sith Lord’s closest advisors then turns to his boss and mutters something like “Never let a crisis go to waste.” Another idea: A council of supposed sages, call them judges if you will, abandon their fidelity to the law they swore to uphold and begin making decisions based on their own personal agendas. Here’s a good one—the Jedi are prohibited from practicing their ancient religion for fear that some people might get their feelings hurt.

Why, oh why, did Star Wars stop being political at the very moment that the most Palpatine-esque president ever to defile the Oval Office came to power? Maybe it’s because George Lucas isn’t at the helm anymore, though it’s doubtful that his directing and/or production would have made a difference. I suspect that The Force Awakens would still avoid criticizing the president because Lucas has, or once had, a man-crush on him. Said Lucas in 2008: “We have a hero in the making back in the United States today because we have a new candidate for president of the United States, Barack Obama.” Whether Lucas still feels that way is unknown. Perhaps he’s been appalled with what he’s seen in the ensuing seven years but I doubt it.

It’s almost as if political commentary just isn’t cool in show biz anymore. Would a major movie studio even make a film that was so obviously critical of this president and his policies? I have my doubts. Dissent isn’t patriotic anymore, less so in Hollywood, so I guess we’ll have to settle for spaceships and laser beams. What a pity.

Bergdahl Court Martial also Indicts Obama

The decision to refer the case of Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl to a general court martial on charges of desertion by Gen. Robert B. Abrams, the head of Army Forces Command at Ft. Bragg, N.C., shows there remains at least one general not cowed by President Obama’s purge of command officers deemed insufficiently subservient to his policies of appeasement and unilateral disarmament.

 Principal to Students: No Christmas for You  

The Grinch tried to steal holiday cheer at one Brooklyn school, where Eujin Jaela Kim, the principal at Public School (PS) 169, wanted to make sure political correctness takes precedence over religious semblance. The New York Post reports, "Santa Claus is banned. The Pledge of Allegiance is no longer recited. 'Harvest festival' has replaced Thanksgiving, and 'winter celebrations' substitute for Christmas parties." Those were the changes made after "[a] memo last month from assistant principal Jose Chaparro suggested a 'harvest festival instead of Thanksgiving or a winter celebration instead of a Christmas party.' He urged staff to 'be sensitive of the diversity of our families. Not all children celebrate the same holidays.'" According to PTA president Mimi Ferrer, "We definitely can't say Christmas, nothing with Christmas on it, nothing with Santa. No angels. We can't even have a star because it can represent a religious system, like the Star of David." The Brooklyn Department of Education bans things that "depict images of deities, religious figures or religious texts." And according to Johanna Bjorken, the business manager for PS 169, "Santa Claus is considered an 'other religious figure.'" However, "[A] DOE spokesman told The Post that Santa is allowed as a secular figure," and the school has traditionally included him. So the choice was made solely by Kim, who, as a member of the grievance industry, is being insensitive to most of her 1,600 students in the name of "inclusivity." Here's a question: If you can't follow the traditions of Thanksgiving and Christmas, why celebrate them at all?

          Fortunately, political correctness got run over by a reindeer. Common sense prevailed, and the school has tossed the principal's policy. "I apologize for any confusion this may have caused," Kim said. Confusion, indeed.  -The Patriot Post

 Boston Tea Party  

On Dec. 16, 1773, "radicals" from Boston, members of a secret organization of American Patriots called the Sons of Liberty, boarded three East India Company ships and threw 342 chests of tea into Boston Harbor.

          This iconic event, in protest of oppressive British taxation and tyrannical rule, became known as the Boston Tea Party.

          Resistance to the Crown had been mounting over enforcement of the 1764 Sugar Act, 1765 Stamp Act and 1767 Townshend Act, which led to the Boston Massacre and gave rise to the slogan, "No taxation without representation."

          The 1773 Tea Act and resulting Tea Party protest galvanized the Colonial movement opposing British parliamentary acts, which violated the natural, charter and constitutional rights of the colonists.

          Three years later, this rebellion had grown to such extent that our Founders were willing to give up their fortunes and lives, attaching their signatures to a document that declared, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

Star Tribune: “Hilly Clinton cited efforts already underway in Minnesota as an example of how to fight domestic recruitment of terrorists, using a Minneapolis speech on Tuesday to call for a stepped-up effort but one that respects people of different backgrounds…At least 12 Somali-American men from Minnesota have been charged with attempting to go abroad to fight for the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL. Minnesota is part of a nationwide pilot project, a collaboration of federal and local law enforcement, Muslim religious leaders and youth groups trying to intervene with young people who might be vulnerable to recruitment.  Clinton’s Program to Counter ISIS Propaganda ‘Embarrassing,’...  

{Daniel Wiser} ~ A program touted by Hilly Clinton that was designed to counter the online propaganda of ISIS has been sharply criticized as ineffective and even embarrassing, according to recent reports... In a speech Tuesday, Clinton, the front runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, mentioned the creation of an interagency center in 2011 while she was secretary of state. That initiative, known as the Center for Strategic Counterterrorism Communications, employed specialists to “to wage online battles with extremists to counter their propaganda,” she said. As part of her plan to counter the radicalization of Americans, she said that “we need to step up our game” and intensify existing efforts to combat the digital messaging of ISIS and other terrorist groups.

 Media Continue Attacks on Muslim Brotherhood Critics  

{Roger Aronoff} ~ The mainstream media never tire of attacking those who warn that the Muslim Brotherhood has established deep ties to the nObama administration and Hilly Clinton... That might just be because the media have forged their own intimate ties to the Muslim Brotherhood group, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Preeminent figures who dare to contradict the narrative of the liberal media, arguing that the greater concern is terrorism or shariah law, not Islamophobia, are regularly cast as conspiracy theorists, and worse, outright racists. The head of the Center for Security Policy (CSP), Frank Gaffney, has been repeatedly attacked by the media for his message that Americans cannot be forced to yield to shariah. On December 8th he said on CNN that CAIR has “been established in court to be a Muslim Brotherhood front organization” that associates with the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas.

 Largest Gitmo Transfer Since 2007 Underway  

 {Matt Vespa} ~ President nObama said he’s gunning to close the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, and he’s starting by emptying the cell blocks that have housed suspected terrorists since it opened in 2002... Right now, the administration is on the verge of the largest detainee transfer in a single month since 2007 (via NYT): Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter has notified Congress in recent days that he has approved 17 proposed transfers of lower-level detainees, said the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss matters that have not yet been made public. Congress has required Mr. Carter to certify that security standards have been met at least 30 days before any transfers. President nObama wants to close the Guantánamo prison in Cuba before he leaves office in a little over a year. His administration has stepped up efforts to find countries to take 48 detainees on a transfer list and moved to speed up the work of a parole-like board that might approve the release of others who are currently recommended for indefinite detention.

 FBI Chart Reveals Link between CAIR and Terrorist Group Hamas  

{Alice Greene} ~ The Muslim advocay group we know as "CAIR" (the Council on American-Islamic Relations) has long been suspected of terrorist connections... Those suspicions have been proven true, according to an FBI chart showing that the organization responsible for forming CAIR was “established to support Hamas.”  The chart in question shows undeniable connections between CAIR and a Palestinian terrorist group known as Hamas, including the fact that PALCOM (the Palestine Committee), the group responsible for creating CAIR, was formed to support Hamas. Furthermore, CAIR executive director Nihad Awad used to work as an official for PALCOM.  The FBI chart was obtained by the IPT (Investigative Project on Terrorism) through a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request and places CAIR into the jihadi category. The document shows several Hamas-related groups, including CAIR, that were formed to support the Palestinian terrorist organization. The chart also reveals the fact that CAIR’s former vice chairman, Nabil Sadoun, has ties to Hamas.

 Carter’s Rebuke of Navy Budget Proposal Points to Split...  

{Sam LaGrone} ~ Secretary of Defense Ash Carter’s list of directives Monday to the Navy to retool its budget for Fiscal Year 2017 revealed a split in priorities between the Secretary of the Navy and the Pentagon on the future of the force... While the reduction of the Littoral Combat Ship buy, from 52 to 40, was the bumper sticker from the four-page rebuke issued to Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus, the context of Carter’s memo points to a larger question of differing views on the future U.S. Navy operations: an argument of presence versus posture. Since Mabus took his post in 2009 he’s pushed hard to make new ship construction a priority for the service to maximize the Navy’s presence in the world. Carter, however, has emphasized a high-end warfighting posture over lower-end presence functions inherent in the LCS/frigate designs. Budget cuts for the service but not nObama's.

As I came to Jesus Christ kicking and screaming, I have always been passionate about sharing the epiphanies that led me to become a believer. I love to relate my excitement about the Bible and encourage others to give it a chance -- really give it a chance -- and to avail themselves of the full riches of God's Word.

I admit that before I embraced the Gospel, I hadn't given sufficient serious thought to whether the Bible actually is the Word of God. It's hard to believe I was so negligent about something that matters so much. To my surprise, I find many people today -- adults included -- who seem to give this very little thought. It is one of my humble goals with this book to nudge people to contemplate it.

For too many years, I fashioned God in my own image. I thought I could bootstrap my way into understanding who he is without ever going to the very book in which he reveals himself to us and shows us precisely who he is. In retrospect, I wonder how I could have been so unserious as to formulate my beliefs without giving the Word of God a fair hearing. How could I have been so engrossed in my earthly existence that I essentially ignored God's revelation?

When -- in the process of studying Christian apologetics, the Bible and theology -- it finally hit me that the Bible is the living Word of the living God, I was blown away. I was stunned, excited and overwhelmed by this truth that I'd avoided for too long. I finally realized that I was holding in my hands a book whose every word was inspired by the God of the universe. I understood that when I opened that book and began to read it, I was opening myself up to God's direct communication to me.

I'm not talking about sitting around in meditation imagining that I could be receiving promptings from God, which, of course, can also be a legitimate experience. Instead, I'm talking about reading God's words that were written to me and to you -- words that I now understood are unmistakably from him and directed to me individually. This is not a matter of speculation. I had already satisfied myself by putting Christianity's claims to the test and realizing that every bit of Scripture is God-breathed. I can rely on it for life as surely as I rely on every breath I take for life.

Corniness aside, you can imagine the feelings I experienced with this "aha" discovery. I immediately wanted to inhale every syllable of the Bible and learn everything I could as quickly as I could. How could I possibly ever get enough of this spiritual food?

As I began to learn more, I became eager to share what I'd learned with my friends and family and anyone else who would listen -- many of whom, I assumed, had been every bit as negligent as I'd been about this most serious of matters. I wanted to help them enjoy the same kind of excitement that was overtaking me.

.
I was under no illusion that the people I approached would just automatically embrace my new "discoveries," no matter how infectious I'd hoped my spirit would be. I also doubted that many would all of a sudden reorder their schedules to begin studying the Bible and theology with relentless fervor.

.
So, as I've mentioned before, I began to write a book for laypeople that would serve as an introduction to the Bible, beginning with the Old Testament. I intended to walk the readers through the Scriptures, showing how each book of the Bible, beginning with Genesis, points to Jesus Christ.

Perhaps because I wasn't sufficiently prepared to write such a book then -- more than 20 years ago -- I abandoned the project. A generation's worth of years later, I started the project anew, and I completed it this time with "The Emmaus Code."

I sincerely hope that you will consider picking up the book for yourself or as a Christmas gift for someone else who you believe might benefit from a book designed to introduce readers to the Old Testament and, most importantly, to its essential Christ-centeredness. Everyone owes it to himself to learn as much as he can about God's Word, and I pray this book will encourage readers to do just that.

Jesus himself told his disciples on the road to Emmaus that they had misunderstood the Scriptures in anticipating that the Messiah would deliver Israel from its political and military enemies. He came not to conquer earthly kings but to die a sacrificial, substitutionary death on our behalf and thereby conquer Satan, sin and death, so that by faith in him, we can live.

He said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?" Then he "interpreted to them in all the Scriptures (the Old Testament) the things concerning himself."

Democrats and Republicans must become one voice and vote for America; we believe that before anything, we are Americans and the foundation of our country is our US Constitution. We will not allow the use of any political ideology to destroy our constitution, our country nor our economic and welfare.

This is the truth, it all started with Ronald Reagan and George H.W Bush and continue with Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama; since Ronald Reagan most Democrats and Republicans become puppets of the oligarchs and their multinational corporations, they supported and promote free trade, globalization and the one world order system of government control by the multinational corporations and the IMF. The puppets that are in our government are the ones responsible for the destruction of millions of Americans jobs and the demise of our economic freedom.  The enslavers of the American people is our own government they are the ones that promoted globalization and slave wages, the oligarchs got richer at the expenses of the American working class and use their money to control our economic and our government. We must show the oligarchs and the puppets in our government, that all the money in the world, will not be enough to demise our God given freedom nor control the destiny of the American people. One of the largest bastions of the Leftmedia, The Washington Post, has said the "Hands up, don't shoot" narrative that gelled after the 2014 shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson was one of the biggest political lies of 2015. The false narrative was that Brown had his hands up when Officer Darren Wilson shot and killed him. A grand jury later ruled that Wilson acted in self-defense.

          The Post's Fact Checker blog released a list of claims it said were the "The biggest Pinocchios of 2015." Among the claims flagged by the Post, Hilly Clinton lied when she said the Defense of Marriage Act was signed by her husband to prevent a DOMA amendment to the Constitution, Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy mislead Americans when he said, on average, there was a school shooting every week since the Sandy Hook massacre, and Barack nObama fibbed when he said the Keystone Pipeline would transport oil not for American consumption.

          But in terms of the most stubborn lies, "Hands up, don't shoot" was one of the worst. It was repeated before a NFL game, as well as on the steps of the Capitol and on the House floor. In communities nationwide, it was a false narrative that fomented discord and served as race bait between law enforcement and residents.  Paris Climate Conference Focused on Fear, Not Climate Reality  

The Paris climate conference is now over. Whether the nations there enthusiastically supported "doing something" about the world's thermostat, or whether they were set to be recipients of a whole lot of wealth redistribution, one thing is clear: The agreement means almost nothing for the climate and everything for loss of economic productivity and Liberty.

          After all the time involved and the carbon dioxide produced getting thousands of people from 196 nations all in the same place and then back home again, the agreement does not put the world on a path toward what alarmists regard as a safe level of rising temperature. But the agreement sets forth a clear path for countries to identify their own targets for CO2 reduction. Ultimately, participants want a global carbon-free environment by 2060, at the latest, meaning that every car, building, plane, ship, train and power plant would have to operate without burning any fossil fuels.

          Days prior to the closing, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon told the ministerial session, “The clock is ticking toward climate disaster.” Repent now, for the end is near.

          The populist potentate of ecotheology, Al Gore, compared combating climate change to the abolition of slavery, giving women the right to vote and the civil rights battle. Gore said, “The right choice is to safeguard the future for the next generation and for the generations to come.”   -The Patriot Post

 Lessons of the Fifth GOP Debate  

Nine Republican candidates took the stage last night in the fifth debate of this primary cycle. The theme was national security, and there's no question the next president will have an enormous task endeavoring to recover from Barack nObama's years of domestic and foreign policy failures. But perhaps the overarching takeaway is that everyone on the stage brings their constituents to the election that matters most — defeating Hilly Clinton in 2016.

          Here is my summary: The most prepared were Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Carly Fiorina. The least prepared were Ben Carson and Donald Trump. Carson in particular is a smart, moral, nice guy who is painfully unprepared to be commander in chief.

          Some other observations: Rand Paul too often sounded petulant, but he had the best cheer leading section. Trump and Jeb Bush hate each other — perhaps because they are most alike as silver-spoon politicos. Trump again demonstrated he is the master of sound bites but thin on any real understanding of issues. Bush, on the other hand, is knowledgeable, but comes across as whiny and mad at Trump for taking his candy. Chris Christie would have been far more formidable in 2012. John Kasich wins the "time bell violator" award.

          Last but certainly not least, the most notable political phenomenon with the greatest potential consequences in 2016 and beyond would be the rocketing rise of Trump. His celebrity name recognition, contentious remarks and populist rhetoric have kept the blustering billionaire at the top of pop-presidential polls for months.

          Trump’s support is a reflection of how dissatisfied millions of disenfranchised grassroots conservatives are with Republican "leadership." The status quo represented by former House Speaker John backstabber-Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McCon-nell has, in effect, underwritten Trump’s rising stardom. Despite greatly increasing the numbers of conservatives in the House and Senate in the historic "Republican Wave" elections nationwide in both 2010 and 2014, the much-loathed "establishment types" held the House reins until Paul Ryan replaced backstabber-Boehner, and they still control the Senate. GOP leaders continue to marginalize or ignore the concerns of the conservative/Republican base — grassroots conservatives — and we are rightly outraged.

          2016 will either provide an opportunity for the renewal of American exceptionalism in 2017 — the restoration of principles that have made our nation great — or it will end with the election of Hilly Clinton and a more precipitous national and international degradation.   -The Patriot Post

 Policy Compromise Marks This House Spending Bill  

Whatever happens on Capitol Hill in the next few days, let's remember that the outgoing speaker handed Speaker Paul Ryan the beginnings of this budget. It takes a while to turn a monolithic institution like Washington. Early Wednesday morning, the full-text version of the $1.1 trillion, 2,009-page spending bill was posted online. After negotiation, Republican and Democrat leadership left happy with the compromises (which is itself worrisome). If all goes well, then Ryan told GOP lawmakers he wanted to return to regular order in the New Year.

          While spending levels are pretty much set, the sticking points were the policy amendments tacked onto this must-pass piece of legislation, the "riders," as they are called in Washington. Among potential GOP accomplishments, the bill would delay implementation of nObamaCare provisions like the "Cadillac tax" on high-end health care plans and a tax on medical devices. The legislation would also lift the 40-year-old ban on oil exports — a measure for which the now-struggling oil industry lobbied for two years. As for Democrats, they were able to extend tax credits for wind and solar energy while blocking GOP efforts to end of the visa-waiver program and Barack nObama's immigration policies. GOP leadership doesn't know how the rest of the party will vote on the spending bill Friday. In the meantime, members of the House Freedom Caucus are approaching the process critically, worried that GOP compromise will not result in Democrat compromise. {Jonathan Levin} ~ President nObama and the Defense Department are warning of the dangers of deploying ground troops to Syria without first answering whether ISIS can be defeated without them... Critics say the status quo is not doing the job.  Max Boot wrote in the Wall Street Journal on December 8 that air power alone cannot defeat ISIS.  The same morning, former Army Chief of Staff retired General Ray Odierno likewise told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that air power has never won any war in history, and added that “you can’t defeat ISIS without having people on the ground.” On the other hand, Gen. Paul Selva, Vice-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee the next day that, “it’s clear from ISIL’s strategy that their objective is to cause us to engage in what they believe is an apocalyptic war with the West.”  Selva added, “anything that we do to feed that particular frame of thinking counters our national security.” Now I don't agree with that.  As Army Shrinks, Milley Considers Ways to Regenerate Force  

{Jen Judson} ~ The US Army chief of staff is looking at how the service might quickly regenerate the force when needed at a time when it is rapidly reducing its size... The Army has already shrunk the force by 80,000 troops since withdrawing from Iraq in 2011, and it plans to further reduce its end strength in the coming years. The service is scheduled to reach an end strength of 450,000 troops by the end of fiscal 2017. If the Army continues to get hit with budget cuts, it could see a deeper cut down to 420,000. On Monday at a Center for a New American Security conference in Washington, Gen. Mark Milley took pains to dispel the myth that it’s easy to regenerate an Army.

Chris Christie of New Jersey would dare to call ISIS terrorists “animals.”... “And also, animals!” fumed Matthews. “I mean, call them what they are, bad people. But what’s this ‘animal’ thing that Christie’s throwing around?” Instead of animals, Matthews suggested that Christie use the term “bad guys” to ISIS. ISIS routinely beheads its own people, as well as Middle Eastern Christians and any Western journalist they can get their hands on. And, from a liberal perspective, ISIS has even more of a record of atrocity when it comes to so-called “marginalized” groups, like women and gays. Matthews and the liberals are dump and stupid idiots. Hey, maybe they'll be offended.

{Steve Byas} ~ Speaking Tuesday at a naturalization ceremony at the National Archives Building in Washington, D.C., President nObama took the opportunity to lecture the newly minted Americans and subtly criticize Republican presidential candidates about immigration in general, and the issue of Muslim immigration in particular... “In the Syrian refugee today, we should see the Jewish refugee of World War II,” nObama declared, in an obvious reference to the incident when President Franklin Delano Roosevelt refused to admit Jews into the United States, sealing their fate, as they were then returned to Europe and Hitler’s death camps. The president's analogy fails, however, in one critical respect. Not one person at the time believed that the Jews asking for admission into America in an effort to escape persecution of the Nazis in Germany were any threat whatsoever to commit murderous acts of terrorism inside the United States.  Why Syria can't be fixed

Nobody on the guest list wants to fix Syria. They want to control it. The reason that ISIS exists is the same reason that Syria can’t be fixed. ISIS didn’t get so big because Muslims are angry about our foreign policy. It got huge because Sunni Muslims hate Shiite Muslims. Al Qaeda in Iraq didn’t become popular because it killed American soldiers, but because it suicide bombed Iraqi Shiites. It really took off once there was a civil war underway between Syrian Shiites and Sunni Islamists. 

 Carter Directs Navy to Cut Littoral Combat Ship Program to 40 Hulls  

{Sam LaGrone} ~ Secretary of Defense Ash Carter has ordered the Navy to trim its total buy of Littoral Combat Ships to 40 and down select to a single shipbuilder and design for the class as part of its fiscal year 2017 budget, according to a memo obtained by USNI News... The directive to trim the service’s planned total of 52 planned LCS and Frigate hulls and direct the savings into other programs was contained in the Monday letter from Carter to Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus. The new plan would call for a building only six LCS between fiscal years 2017-2020 – eight less than the Navy’s submitted in its 2017 plan – and directs the Navy to down select to a single shipyard and a single hull type in 2019. This is a no-brainier. We know what this pres is doing.

 hanoi-Kerry is wrong...Assad can never stay  

 {Michael Rubin} ~ Secretary of State John hanoi-Kerry has reversed a long-standing position and declared, during a visit to Moscow, that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s ouster is not a prerequisite for Syrian peace talks... In a sanitized world, hanoi-Kerry’s position has allure: After all, how can the outcome of negotiations be presaged before they formally begin? And perhaps a formula can be established by which Assad can remain provisionally until new elections. The problem is that such sanitized, detached consideration of Syria demonstrates profound ignorance of events in Syria and the trauma which Syrians have experienced. Over at Commentary, I drew parallels between the 2011 Hamza Ali al-Khateeb episode and the US civil rights era case of Emmett Till. Both boys were kidnapped by those in power. Both were tortured and murdered. But rather than quietly burying their sons, both sets of parents allowed the media of the day to photograph their castrated bodies and broadcast the horror widely.

 More Lies from Abbas about The "Intifada"  

{Bassam Tawil} ~ Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas now wants us to believe that the Palestinian "youths," who are sent out to murder Jewish soldiers and civilians, are acting out of "despair."... He wants us to believe that these "youths" decided to murder Jews because their dream of a two-state solution has not been realized. Abbas is also trying to convince us that these "youths" are upset about Israeli checkpoints, construction in settlements, and visits by Jews to the Noble Sanctuary (Temple Mount). These latest statements by President Abbas show that he is either completely disconnected from reality, or else thinks that everyone will believe whatever he tells them. His claim -- that the Palestinian assailants who carry out stabbing and car ramming attacks against Israelis, are frustrated because the two-state solution has not yet been realized -- is, frankly, an insult. We still have never encountered one case -- ever -- where a terrorist complained about the absence of a two-state solution. Also, contrary to Abbas's claim, none of the terrorists has ever complained about settlements or checkpoints. In fact, these "youths" that Abbas is talking about are mostly affiliated with Hamas, and do not believe in any two-state solution. Like Hamas, these terrorists want to see Israel wiped off the map.

 Sen Sessions Warns Of Ryan, McCon-nell Betrayal Omnibus

Our founders, as I've reminded readers repeatedly over the years, asserted their concerns publicly and routinely about the effects of indiscriminate mass immigration. They made it clear that the purpose of allowing foreigners into our fledgling nation was not to recruit millions of new voters or to secure permanent ruling majorities for their political parties. It was to preserve, protect and enhance the republic they put their lives on the line to establish.

In a 1790 House debate on naturalization, James Madison opined: "It is no doubt very desirable that we should hold out as many inducements as possible for the worthy part of mankind to come and settle amongst us, and throw their fortunes into a common lot with ours. But why is this desirable?"

No, not because "diversity" is our greatest value. No, not because Big Business needed cheap labor. And no, Madison asserted, "Not merely to swell the catalogue of people. No, sir, it is to increase the wealth and strength of the community; and those who acquire the rights of citizenship, without adding to the strength or wealth of the community are not the people we are in want of."

Pat Leahy, D-Vt., to undermine the national interest in favor of suicidal political correctness. The measure would prevent the federal government from ever taking religion into account in immigration and entrance decisions "as such action would be contrary to the fundamental principles on which this Nation was founded."

This pathway to a global right to migrate runs contrary to our founders' intentions as well as decades of established immigration law. As Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., pointed out in a scathing speech opposing the Leahy amendment: "It is well settled that applicants don't have the constitutional right or civil right to demand entry to the United States. ... As leaders, we are to seek the advancement of the Public Interest. While billions of immigrants may benefit by moving to this country, this nation state has only one responsibility. We must decide if such an admission complies with our law and serves our national interest."

Our Muslim Marxist President is doing his best to take the guns away from patriots in our country. He has tried over the past six years to force Congress to do his bidding to violate the 2^nd Amendment. Congress, to its credit has pushed back and allowed the law abiding people of this country to continue to keep the right given to them in the Constitution.

After San Bernardino, a city 30 miles from my home and the hometown of my wife, it did not take long for the Democrats to bring out the response they always do. It was the guns fault, and therefore, no one should have one.Knee jerk responses to be sure, and even with the assistance of a front page editorial in the New York Times, could not change the thinking of the American people that they have a right to self defense.  Petula Dvorak of the Washington Post even went so far as to claim the “Evil Republicans” because they respect the 2^nd Amendment.

Of course, according to Ms. Dvorak more gun free zones are the answer. If only everyone would turn in their guns, all would he sweetness and light with unicorns and rainbows. I don’t know what neighborhood this lady lives in, but in any neighborhood I ever lived in, the people I know are very happy to be able to keep their guns. Gun free zones work according to the Progressives and socialists. Should we ask  the children at Sandy Hook, or the writers at Charlie Hebdo, of the county workers in San Bernardino how well that works? Obama, that fine bastion of constitutional law proclaimed that the US is the number one purveyor of these attacks. Actually no, Norway is first, followed by Finland, Slovakia, Israel, and Switzerland. Sorry, Evergreen, you numbers lie again.

We have had seven years of the truth being a far distant cousin of the Democrats, but they all agree that they need to take our guns. Obama has already issued 23 executive actions which were never voted on and are clearly unconstitutional being rights that can not taken away without changing the founding documents of our country. The National Instant Criminal Background Check, (NICS) is being used by the federal government as the implementation of a national database. This has been admitted by federal officials and openly reported in the news.

The newest step being pushed by Obama is to try and cause gun manufacturers to fail. Gun sales have skyrocketed, and Obama has now used his federal power in a vendetta against Smith and Wesson using the Security Exchange Commission.  Our Marxist in chief is using the advocate of the state of New York asking federal regulators to investigate if the manufacturer Smith and Wesson had made adequate disclosures in its financial statements. The public advocate, Letitia James has stated that the SEC “should investigate whether Smith and Wesson misrepresented or omitted information about how often its products are involved in crimes and what it has done to keep its product out of the hands of criminals”.

I would appreciate anyone who can tell me how any company, selling any product, can be forced to be responsible for the misuse of their product? Smith and Wesson does infact provide training and a gun lock with each gun sold, and no one can explain what more they should do.

This is nothing more than a witch hunt and nothing more. It is this President attempting to circumvent Congress with a targeting of a business that he does not feel is subservient to his agenda as a tyrannical king who can make proclamations for what he desires to be so. The final question is what business is next. Obama has a year to go, and now is the time to draw a red line in the sand (Obama might understand that) and say no more.

Immigration officials, according to the New York Times, don’t usually look at social media when putting an applicant through their security screenings.  IDF strikes two Hamas military targets in response to Gaza rocket fire 

{YAAKOV LAPPIN} ~ The Israel Air Force struck two Hamas terrorist sites overnight between Sunday and Monday, hitting targets in central and northern Gaza... following a Gazan rocket attack on Southern Israel  that occurred on Sunday night. There were no injuries reported in the rocket strike. The IDF Spokesman Unit said the airstrikes were a response to the rocket attack a few hours earlier. On Sunday night, a projectile fired from Gaza exploded in an open area in the Sha'ar Hanegev Council, triggering warning sirens in Sderot and in the surrounding areas. And a higher court has been asked to look into the actions by Judge Paul Yee Jr., of the Massachusetts court system. It happened at the sentencing for Daisy Obi, who is a landlord, for a physical altercation in which tenant Gihan Suliman was knocked down a flight of stairs, suffering a bruise, cuts on her lip and a ligament injury. Obi was convicted of the altercation, even though she denied it. She also denied allegations she berated Suliman over Islam. And when you find out the landlord's side of the story, you just may pop a gasket.

Western Journalism has reported on the nObama administration’s attempts to downplay the incident and their initial refusal to call the shooting a terrorist attack. On Thursday, a whistleblower came forward. Phillip Haney, a former Department of Homeland Security investigator, says he could have likely prevented the attacks in San Bernardino if the government had let him do his job. Three years ago, Haney had developed surveillance that revealed a global network of jihadists had infiltrated the United States. What The Hell Are We Doing?

our commander-in-chief to defeat the enemy. Half-measures won’t suffice. War is all hell, as General Sherman said, and when you’re going through hell, don’t stop until you come out the other side. Go all-out or don’t go.

So, are we going to defeat ISIS or not? It’s not clear. President nObama promised to degrade and destroy ISIS more than a year ago, but admits he doesn’t have a strategy. He’s been bombing ISIS for a year, but not most of the oil trucks carrying oil from ISIS-controlled oil fields, and then only after he drops leaflets first giving them a 45-minute warning! After the ISIS attack on Paris, France bombed hundreds of these trucks and that left Americans wondering. If we’ve been bombing ISIS for a year, why are there so many trucks left for the French? Where are those oil trucks making deliveries? There are only a few possibilities given that they are, after all, trucks.

When ISIS set off a bomb aboard a Russian passenger jet, and Turkey shot down a Russian fighter plane, Russia accused Turkey of buying oil from ISIS. Could that be true? Turkey is allied to the United States. It belongs to NATO. The nObama Administration insisted Turkey is not buying ISIS oil, but ISIS makes $4 million per day selling it and there are only so many places a truck can go, right? Turkey is right next door.

Last month, the UK Guardian reported that: “Turkish businessmen struck lucrative deals with ISIS oil smugglers, adding at least $10m (£6.6m) per week to the terror group’s coffers.” The Jerusalem Post’s Caroline Glick reports that: “For nearly two years, we have known that Turkey is Islamic State’s major arms supplier. And for six months we have known that they are their partners in oil exports.” The Daily Beast reports that fifty US intelligence agents filed a formal complaint with US Central Command that intelligence reports were being doctored by senior intelligence officials in the nObama Administration for political reasons. When America  special forces killed an ISIS finance guy, they seized his computer with information on ISIS oil sales to Turkey.

Monroe Mann, one of my former students, returned from northern Iraq where he’d been a US Army intelligence officer working with the Kurds. He delivered a presentation to all five of my US History classes and his esteem for Kurdish soldiers as allies of the United States was enormous. After nObama was elected, he pulled all US forces out of Iraq and the Kurds were on their own. Today, most analysts recognize them as the only effective opposition to ISIS on the ground — but nObama won’t send them military aid. Why? Because Turkey doesn’t want him to. Historical Kurdistan overlaps Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Turkey — and Turkey is afraid of a Kurdish independence movement. So are the other countries.

Confused yet? It gets worse. After nObama allowed Bashar Assad to overstep his red line on chemical weapons, Russia moved in to support Assad. Iran supports him too. nObama has walked on eggshells negotiating his ill-advised nuclear treaty with Iran and didn’t want to upset the mullahs by undermining their ally Assad. Even though nObama declares over and over that Assad has to go, he has no strategy to accomplish that either. Meanwhile he’s overseeing feeble military efforts against both Assad and ISIS while Russia and Iran openly support Assad and Turkey secretly supports ISIS. Should we be sending any US soldiers into a conflict in which we’re not sure who we’re fighting for or against? When we don’t know who our enemies are or who our friends are?

Teaching US History, my approach was to analyze each war’s causes, major battles, and most of all — its effects, after which students were tasked to consider whether it was worth fighting. Then I’d tell them to imagine themselves as 18-year-old males during each war and ask themselves if they would have volunteered to fight in it. I also taught current events and we followed Desert Storm, the Afghanistan War, and the Iraq War as they happened. Like Monroe Mann, many went on to fight. Some still are.

They’d ask me what I’d have done, but I’d defer until each had taken a position and defended it. If I were teaching about the situation in Syria and Iraq today, I’d have to tell them I would stay home until we figure out what the hell we’re doing.

Now everyone has heard of a geologist right? These are the guys that study rocks to determine what life was like on earth millions of years ago (that’s almost longer that Nancy Pelosi’s been alive). Geologists tell us the earth has been going through circular changes for as far back as we can read the rock strata. They tell us that it’s been cold and hot before; sometimes really cold and really hot. Do the majority of Geologists believe in Climate change? Yes. Do they think man had anything to do with it? NO!

Before I continue ripping these lying hippies a new one, let’s talk a little bit about what good they have done. I grew up in the 1970’s and remember everybody throwing trash from their cars. I remember illegal dumping of toxic chemicals and 3^rd stage smog alerts in the Los Angeles basin. You couldn’t eat fish caught off shore, acid rain fell from the skies of New York City and landfills were useless after they were filled. Something needed to be done and it was these filthy hippies and their tireless efforts that stopped…

Wait, I’m sorry, back that up. It was Ronald Reagan that pushed through and signed the clean air and water act and Richard Nixon that created the EPA through an executive order. What did Carter do? SQUAT! Clinton? He mandated through executive order that government buildings had to recycle, which they were already doing without being ordered to, and he tried to push through Gore’s carbon credit scam; the American people weren’t buying it. So it was Republicans that saved the environment? Somewhere a liberal just read that and their head popped like a pimple. (Rip another bong-load and keep reading, Shaggy).

The fact is we have become good stewards of the land compared to the 1970’s, the “Silent Winter” days and the era of “Love Canal”, when we were less than a decade from disaster. The air is clean, so is the water, poisoning the environment is a serious crime, littering is socially unacceptable, fish are safe to eat (more or less), and landfills become golf courses which makes trash heaps the most expensive real estate you can find. Is there more to do? Yes, but it’s a matter of enforcing existing laws, not making new ones that only serve to make Al Gore Richer.

What do I mean “Making Al Gore richer”? The whole “Carbon Credit” (also known as Cap and Trade) scam is set up like a stock market; guess who owns the biggest share of this new market exchange? That’s right, Al Gore (I’m assuming you guessed correctly since we were just talking about him a second ago). Al and his buddies stand to make Bill Gates kind of money if this crap becomes law. Do you know how the whole thing works?

The idea behind this is everyone gets a certain amount of carbon credits; the air you breath, trash, car emissions, etc. Businesses too only get a certain amount and will not be allowed to exceed it unless they pay for carbon offsets. Carbon offsets include planting trees, increasing estuaries (swamps) and other hippie nonsense that make pinko’s think they are making a difference. The Idea is that companies can avoid being heavily fined and even jailed by buying credits from companies that plant trees, flood farmland to make swamps and build “Green Energy” solar panels and wind turbines. Forget for a moment that solar panels are an environmental hazard or that commercial windmills never make enough electricity to justify their cost before they burn out. Let just focus on “Cap and Trade” for now.

So, let’s say you have a business that manufactures marital aides (Well, It’s as good a business as any for our purpose here). So your factory produces X amount of carbon more than the government allows; where do you go to buy carbon credits that the government will accept as genuine? That’s right, Al Gore’s carbon credit exchange (even sounds like a used car lot). Al gets a piece of every transaction, and you get… well, you get screwed, which is appropriate considering the products you make.  

Anyway, by forced regulation, a new crop of “Green” businesses pop up to service an industry nobody needs, that does nothing and is mandated by law. This is not a new idea; it was tried before by the Catholic Church in the late Fifteenth century. They called them indulgences, and you could “offset” your sins by paying the church for absolution for yourself or a dead relative in purgatory. Sounds fair, right? Martin Luther didn’t think so; it was a chief complaint of the 95 theses (not feces, but that would have been funnier) he nailed to the Cathedral door in Wittenberg. There’s also a joke in here somewhere about the Pope and his diet of worms... But I digress.

Now, I would like to take a minute to get back to Global Warming, or whatever they are calling it this week, and address the movie “Inconvenient Truth”. It is a work of fiction, presented as a PowerPoint presentation, but this hasn’t stopped the Nobel Prize Committee from granting that once respectable award to Al Gore for his brilliant narration. This is the same group that gave President Obama the prize for being Black (just saying). “An Inconvenient Truth” is to Cap and Trade what interest rates and inflation are to the Federal Reserve. Now the movie with less truth in it than a used car salesman’s pitch, and less entertainment value than watching an old woman shop for shoes, is being forced on our children by almost every teacher’s union and school district in the nation and presented to these developing minds as fact. Just see what happens if you tell the school you don’t want your child exposed to that garbage. You will be labeled as an extremist, right wing nut and CPS will show up at the door of your abusive, unfit household. Nobody likes being the bad guy, right?  

So what am I saying about Carbon Credits in a nutshell? It’s a multi-billion dollar job-killer, created from liberal guilt and indoctrinated into our kids by their socialist teacher, that accomplishes nothing but making a few scam artists richer. Did that some it up for you? Now, I don’t care if a bunch of privileged, cocktail party liberals voluntarily spend their money on this crap; I have friends that would love to make a good living planting trees. However, to make it law and have it apply equally, even to people that know it’s a scam is criminal. What such a law would do to our economy is close to treason, but what’s wrong with a little treason if it helps you feel you’ve made a difference?

One last thing: when it comes to applying a new carbon laws equally, just remember that Obamacare was supposed to be applied equally, but donors to Obama’s campaign got waivers and dispensations. Dispensations? Another word the Catholic Church used to fleece the faithful out of their money in the 16^th century…

 Fear and Loathing at the Paris Climate Summit  

It's rarely a good thing when world leaders in a group think mood decide to act quickly. On Saturday, the "international community" who met at the UN Summit on Climate Change in Paris reached an agreement. Most of the world's leaders have pledged to lower their countries' emissions rates. The pressure is on for developed countries to pay out a collective $100 billion a year to poorer countries to help them adapt to a supposedly swiftly heating planet — a handout that will do nothing for the global thermostat.

          Indeed, the real climate agenda is not about climate at all, but rather an effort from the leftist elite to "level the economic playing field," giving countries like China and India a pass while shaming and bankrupting the United States. Case in point: Barack nObama's loathing and regulation of the fossil fuel industry is causing massive economic headaches for regions of the country whose lifeblood is black gold. "Forgive us for looking through the legacy smoke," wrote The Wall Street Journal editorial board, "but if climate change really does imperil the Earth, and we doubt it does, nothing coming out of a gaggle of governments and the United Nations will save it. What will help is human invention and the entrepreneurial spirit."

          While the best qualities of human resourcefulness are ignored (because they require Liberty), Secretary of State John hanoi-Kerry is appealing to the baser methods of human motivation to keep this accord in place. The man who once said climate change was a weapon of mass destruction wants to whip fellow countries towards the fight against nature with shame and international condemnation because it's "the most powerful weapon in many ways."  After Sandy Hook, Americans Recognized Need for Guns  

The Left cannot fathom why mass shootings cause the number of gun purchases to rise. Today marks the third anniversary of the Sandy Hook massacre, where 26 elementary school children and their educators died at the hands of a mentally deranged man — one of the most horrific mass shootings in modern history. In the aftermath, Barack nObama and his gun-grabbing lemmings felt a sense of vigor. A handful of states like New York and Connecticut passed stricter gun laws. But the tragedy was not quite the tipping point they were after. According to a review by the Associated Press, more states than not have recognized the Second Amendment more fully, increasing the freedom of self-defense and the right to bear arms.

          Mississippi may consider a bill allowing churches to designate armed parishioners. Wisconsin eliminated a 24-hour waiting period. You don't need a permit to carry a concealed weapon in Kansas. For months, the FBI has been breaking records on how many times the National Instant Criminal Background Check System is used to check on a firearm purchaser.

          Meanwhile, gun control advocates like nObama spokesman Josh Earnest just don't get it. Last week, Earnest told reporters, "The more that we see this kind of violence on our streets, the more people go out and buy guns. That is both ironic and tragic." Why does he think this is? Does he honestly think more law-abiding people passing background checks want to jump into street violence?  These Are Not the Weapons You're Looking For 

The Zero-Tolerance Empire strikes back. This time, a Houston seventh grader was informed he had to zip up his jacket to cover his Star Wars T-shirt because it portrayed a storm trooper holding a — gasp! — blaster. (It is called Star Wars, after all.) The boy's father was incredulous, saying, “It’s political correctness run amok. You’re talking about a Star Wars T-shirt, a week before the biggest movie of the year comes out. It has nothing to do with guns or making a stand. It’s just a Star Wars shirt.” Not to Sith dealing in absolutes school officials bound by zero-tolerance policies it isn't. The school's handbook lists potential violations of dress code. Among them are “symbols oriented toward violence.” And if there's anything more obnoxious than Jar Jar Binks, it's school officials who can't make rational decisions about school policy. But hey, at least the kid didn't chew his Pop Tart into a blaster. Administrators might have thrown him into the sarlacc pit for that one.   -The Patriot Post

 Religious vs. Political Islam  

Americans take many things for granted. One of them is a rather brilliant decision made by the Founding Fathers, who were among the many settlers coming to the New World to escape religious oppression by state-affiliated faiths. The Founders decided that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” Hence, while people were free to worship as they please, church and state would remain separate entities. Islam makes no such distinction, and America is in desperate need of a forthright conversation regarding the differences between religious and political Islam.

          "Some Muslims come to the United States to practice their religion peacefully, and assimilate into the Western tradition of tolerance of other people’s liberties, including religious liberty — a tradition alien to the theocratic societies in which they grew up,“ writes National Review’s Andrew McCarthy, a former federal prosecutor who led the case against the 1993 World Trade Center bombers. "Others come here to champion sharia, Islam’s authoritarian societal framework and legal code, resisting assimilation into our pluralistic society. Since we want to both honor religious liberty and preserve the Constitution that enshrines and protects it, we have a dilemma.”

          Dilemma indeed. As McCarthy further explains, the overwhelming majority of people emigrating from Muslim-majority countries to Western nations are coming from societies where "Islam is a comprehensive ideological system that governs all human affairs, from political, economic, and military matters to interpersonal relations and even hygiene.” And while Islam does have religious tenets, McCarthy argues "these make up only a fraction of what is overwhelmingly a political ideology.”

They want ‘see something say nothing to be the way Americans respond.’” Judge Pirro notes the lawsuit CAIR filed on behalf of Ahmed the Alarm Crock Terrorist Boy in Irving, Texas in the amount of $5 million dollars, naming Mayor Beth Van Duyne as a defendant. Hanson notes that he’s built briefcase bombs before and it was totally legitimate for this to have been handled as it was. It’s choreographed intimidation by the pro-Islamists intended to silence the resistance to their invasion. There’s also a history between CAIR and Van Duyne, as she had earlier been instrumental in their denial of being able to practice a separate Sharia Law within the city. A little Islamist revenge seems to have been at play in Ahmed’s target selection.

 Iran Withdrawing IRGC Forces From Syria as Tensions With Russia 

{David Daoud} ~ Iran has started to withdraw its elite Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces from Syria, the Saudi-aligned London-based daily Asharq Al-Awsat reported on Sunday... Among the reasons for the retreat cited in the report is the heavy losses suffered by Iran during the two months since Russia has begun conducting military operations there. According to the report, one Free Syrian Army officer claimed that tensions between the Russians and Iranians have been mounting, due to near-daily casualties incurred by the latter, purportedly as a result of the former’s pushing for increased ground operations. The officer said he learned of this while eavesdropping on their communications. Reports have also been circulating that the commander of the IRGC-Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani, was seriously wounded during a battle in Aleppo.

It’s a world in which he’s widely beloved but also misunderstood, a world in which everyone is racist except for those who support him, a world in which his foreign policy has been heroically successful and his domestic policy even more so. President nObama lives in Fantasyland.

In this Fantasyland, it’s not enough for President nObama to define the world around him in self-serving fashion. He must define his enemies the same way. To that end, while visiting Paris for the Climate Change Summit that will supposedly usher in an era of global cooperation and environmental utopianism, nObama announced that he had finally found a way to defeat Islamic State. Talking about climate change, nObama said, was an “act of defiance that proves nothing will deter us … What greater rejection of those who would tear down our world than marshaling our best efforts to save it?”

Not to be Debbie Downer, but nothing in ISIS’ plans suggests that they care deeply about preventing a bunch of self-important bureaucrats from meeting in well-stocked, toney hotels to destroy the Western economy on behalf of scientific chimeras. ISIS, in fact, probably adores the notion that the West will take itself down a couple economic pegs in order to redistribute the wealth. Certainly other Islamic terrorists have felt that way. Osama Bin Laden, for example, lamented that the West did not spend more money on climate change relief efforts, and stated according to Al Jazeera, “Speaking about climate change is not a matter of intellectual luxury — the phenomenon is an actual fact. All of the industrialized countries, especially the big ones, bear responsibility for the global warming crisis.”

Regardless of ISIS’ feelings on global warming, they obviously don’t sit around in Raqqa lamenting that their plans have been defeated by those dastardly Westerners and their catered diplomatic lunches. But President nObama says they do. That’s because he crafts his own enemies based on who he wishes they were. nObama is thoroughly uncomfortable with the idea that those who wish to fight him are members of radical Islam. He wishes they were right-wing American ideologues. So he simply plays them off as such.

nObama did the same thing with regard to the Iran nuclear deal. While handing Iran $150 billion in funding, opening their economy, and granting them a full nuclear weapons program in a decade, nObama claimed that the real enemies of peace were Republicans siding with Iranian hardliners. Never mind that those hardliners didn’t exist. nObama created them magically, and then made them Republicans.

Barack nObama is a leftist hammer in search of a conservative nail. No matter who his enemies actually are, he’ll characterize them as American conservatives for purposes of whacking them over the head. ISIS may have slaughtered Westerners in Paris thanks to radical Islam, but nObama will never acknowledge that: instead, he’ll just claim that they’re essentially Ted Cruz in keffiyehs.

This isn’t rare. Jackie Kennedy once lamented that her husband had been shot by a “silly little communist” rather than dying for civil rights; her allies quickly turned JFK’s assassination into a referendum on American conservatism. nObama’s doing the same thing now. He has chosen his enemies, and they don’t include ISIS. That means that if ISIS must be his enemy, he will simply wave his Fantasyland wand, and they will be transformed into the Republican enemies he so craves.

In Part 1of our Investigative Report: ‘Obama’s Deal With the Devil’ (http://thepatriotfactor.blogspot.com/201…), we presented why we believe Obama gave the speech he did and why the San Bernardino police are acting after the fact in a way they should have acted before the fact. But what is…is…and we are left not with questions per se but with facts that we can no longer afford to overlook…and those facts center around Barack HUSSEIN Obama himself and where his true loyalties lie.

To put the pieces of the puzzle together we need just look at Obama’s actions, policies, and words since he became president. Let’s start with his Cairo, Egypt, speech soon after he assumed the office of the presidency. In that speech Obama aligned himself with the muslims by saying his job as president of the United States was to “fight against negative stereotypes of islam wherever they appear.” However, that is not the job of an American president…his job is to ‘protect the health, safety, and welfare’ of the American people above all else, as it is his job to show America in a positive light where and whenever possible. An American president does not defame or dishonor his country, its military, or its people…which Obama routinely does…nor does an American president bow to any foreign leader… especially to a leader whose allegiances are still somewhat in question. And in this case we mean Obama’s bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia in whose country islam’s (supposed) holy city of Mecca lies.

According to a recent CNN/ORC poll, Americans have once again contracted war fever. For the first time a majority (53 percent) of the public wants to send ground troops to battle ISIS. Coming on the heels of three horrific ISIS-linked terrorist attacks—the Russian jetliner, the November attacks in Paris, and the San Bernardino spree killing—this is not entirely surprising. People are understandably fed up with Islamic crazies killing innocent people.

I’m sick of it too, though less eager to send ground troops. Not that we have any good options.

Our policy thus far has been “no boots on the ground,” or at least that’s what the White House has told us. “No boots” isn’t entirely true—just like everything else this lying president says. There are indeed some boots on the ground in the Middle East stamped “made in the USA” on their soles but for the most part we’ve chosen to fight ISIS from the sky.

Our airpower strategy has not rolled back ISIS, for a number of reasons, the first of which is that it telegraphs to the enemy that we are irresolute in our mission. We can’t stomach casualties and Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the grand poohbah of ISIS, know this. Why should he despair? Second, airpower alone doesn’t win wars. No piece of territory is truly secure until the infantry marches in and plants the flag. Our Air Force is, of course, supporting ground troops but they happen to be Iraqi and our Iraqi allies have proven themselves to lack “combat effectiveness”—which is a nice way of saying that they suck hind teet.

The time has long since passed to decide whether we should go big or go home. I don’t like either option and for that I am glad I’m not the commander-in-chief. I’d rather not make such a weighty decision. Unfortunately, the guy who is charged with such decisions—with congressional approval of course—seems indecisive. He has condemned us to another few years of farting around with neither a cohesive strategy nor a vision of victory.

If the latest poll is any indicator, the American people, by a bare majority, have embraced “going big” and rejected “going home.” At least that’s what their fickle opinion is this week. Next week might be different and if troops remain in Iraq and Syria for any extended period of time public opinion will inevitably turn south. Americans only like war when it’s quick and easy. When soldiers start coming home in body bags we’ll blame our leaders for giving us the war we asked for.

I believe that most of that 53 percent of Americans who want to send our young people back to the sandbox labor under the mistaken belief that our military is a well-oiled machine that will make mincemeat out of ISIS. I would warn these people that our military is actually pretty ragged—under-funded, undertrained, and sorely lacking in the morale department. Most importantly, it’s been wussified—forced by politicians and general officers to become the “kindler gentler military” Stephanie Gutmann warned of fifteen years ago in her seminal book by the same name. If you haven’t read it, you need to.

Slashed military budgets have shrunken our armed forces. The US Army is now the smallest it’s been since before World War II and the US Navy the smallest since before World War I. We’re still asking this skeleton crew to keep the sea lanes open and to hold down the fort in Korea, something we didn’t ask of them in our pre-superpower era.

Morale continues its descent into the abyss. In 2014, the Military Times commissioned a survey of 2,300 military members to gage their satisfaction with military life—with bleak results. Only 56 percent of troops agreed with the statement “Overall my quality of life is good,” compared to 91 percent who said the same thing in 2009. Seventy percent of troops agreed with the statement that “quality of life will decline in coming years.” Only 27 percent said that officers in senior leadership positions had the rank-and-file’s best interest at heart—a clear indicator that careerism is having a corrosive effect on the military. As journalist Hope Hodge Seck wrote in the Military Times: “Today’s service members say they feel underpaid, under-equipped and under-appreciated, the survey data show.”

“Underpaid” is something of an understatement. Annual pay raises, which were once almost guaranteed to be at least two percent, are now sometimes as low as one percent. The last time pay raises exceeded two percent was in 2010, when the troops’ salaries were bumped up 3.4 percent. Since then, the pay raises have been 1.4 percent (2011), 1.6 percent (2012), 1.7 percent, (2013) one percent (2014), and one percent (2015). The pay raise taking effect this New Year’s Day is a mere 1.3 percent.

Perhaps the most terrifying trend in today’s military is the diminution of the warrior spirit. This “wussification” of the US military has probably been underway for decades but it shifted into hyperdrive after the ascendency of Barack Obama. His campaign to get women into combat arms positions—even elite units—without lowering standards was exposed as a farce at the very same press conference at which it was unveiled. As General Martin Dempsey famously pronounced in January 2013, “Importantly, though, if we do decide that a particular standard is so high that a woman couldn’t make it, the burden is now on the service to come back and explain to the secretary, why is it that high? Does it really have to be that high?” But don’t worry, standards won’t be lowered—and you’re sexist if you say otherwise.

The wussification of the Army is nearing its end stage. Consider the US Army Drill Sergeant School in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, where noncommissioned officers go to learn how to train raw recruits. It prides itself on its New Army ethos—which means that there’s a lot less butt-chewing and apparently, according to one drill sergeant quoted in an article by journalist Jeff Wilkinson, no more “smoking” the privates. For non-veterans, “smoking” is when the drill sergeant makes the privates engage in all sorts of physically demanding exercises—pushups for sure, but also alligator walking, walrus crawling, T-bones, flutter kicks, and leg lifts. “We don’t smoke people anymore,” said Drill Sergeant Danielle Brooks. “But sometimes you have to give them a little extra TLC.” I wish this were The Onion but it isn’t. The drill sergeant really thinks it’s her job to deliver tender loving care. She might as well wear a button that says “free hugs.”

This is not your father’s Army. It isn’t even the Army I joined in 1999. My drill sergeants relished “smoking” the privates. I recall one particularly hard drill sergeant who I’m quite certain would not graduate from today’s Drill Sergeant School on account of his old-fashioned approach to training. Whether the privates were getting enough TLC was not his top concern.

I’m sure that wussification proponents would argue that “smoking” the privates does little to improve their training. I disagree. “Smoking” the privates instills mental toughness and, at very least, gets them into shape. Many young people joining the military today are neither mentally tough nor physically fit so someone must furnish them with these commodities. I’ll use myself as an example—I lost forty pounds in basic training and gained a lot of self confidence. That would not have happened if Danielle Brooks had been my drill sergeant.

Before we go sending the bloom of our youth to fight crazy dudes on a mission from Allah, it might be prudent to ask ourselves if we have truly prepared them. Are we going to send a chubby teenager, who, through no fault of his own, never did so much as a pushup in basic training, off to battle ISIS? What if that teenager isn’t properly equipped and his morale is in the gutter because he can’t pay his bills? I say no. It wouldn’t be fair to that teenager to expect him to engage in real combat where he’s likely to have his feelings hurt with no one around to give him a hug.

We’ve neglected our armed forces for a long time and we can’t now expect that they will perform as they did in generations past. Let’s hit the brakes on the rush to send ground troops to the Middle East.
