I agree, as sequestration was Obama's idea and now he will not speak with the republicans unless one of them might be Iranian, Asian or Muslim? He just points at the GOP and the media backs his one way blame for the issue.

Obama should listen for once to our citizens and labor unions, who do not want Obama care. The President should change his ways and stop travel, vacations, and leading from behind and actually lead to resolve  this issue, compromise and get the budget issue behind us.  All he does is show favoritism, slam the GOP, Tea Party and anyone else that might disagree with his vision for America, non super power, weaker financially, Ponzi scheme based global climate carbon credit trading , reduced nuclear and military . UN controlled , altered Constitution and diminished rights, etc..

Can't tell them apart

Who is who in Washington. I can't tell the Republicans from the Democrats anymore. I think the two parties have combined to make the NEW SUPER PARTY THE REPUBLICRATS. There party motto. We can lie as much as we want because we're to stupid to remember what we said. John McCain is the leader of the new party. McCain is the Democrats best friend anyway so let him lead. More later.

Home of the Brave, not so much in the Senate

While we do have war hero's and I thank them for their service, it seems like the brave my have tired. No one will directly challenge Obama, Holder or other officials who ignore the citizens will, laws and Congress. They let agencies like the EPA run over them and citizens without recourse.

Where have the brave gone, aside from our current military people. Obama will be cutting their ranks and continues to make their job harder.

We need rescue from this administration. Obama will speak with Iranian terrorist and not the GOP, really?

WHY BARACK OBAMA OWNS THIS SHUT DOWN

WHY BARACK OBAMA OWNS THIS GOVERNMENT SHUT DOWN By Fred Brauer

October 2, 2013 at 6:53am

"You don't get to extract a ransom for doing your job, for doing what you're supposed to be doing anyway" he said. "Or just because there's a law there that you don't like."  Barack Obama, October 1, 2013

UNFORTUNATELY, OBAMA IS WRONG ON BOTH COUNTS.  First, House Republicans aren't extracting a ransom.  They're playing the only card Obama has left them in their hand, for the sake of the nation and, two.....YES, Congress DOES have the duty and the power to do everything they can to change or eliminate a law it does not like or in this case, is disastrous for the country!  The facts and figures are out, the tsunami has begun, and except for the minority of Americans that are literally dirt poor, an overwhelming majority of businesses and individuals, not to mention every Union, has pushed back against Obamacare....loudly.  It is flawed, it isn't ready, and it will cost all of us trillions of dollars that we do not have.

Once upon a time it was the law of the land that alcohol was illegal.  It was called the Volstead Act, also known as Prohibition.  The President, Woodrow Wilson had originally vetoed the law but Congress overturned that and passed it as LAW, and for over a decade it cost the American taxpayer millions of dollars, millions of lives, basically created the mafia and thousands of government agents appointed to enforce the law were easily corrupted by illegal alcohol manufacturers and got wealthy from it as well.  Not to mention,  Prohibition spawned the term "The Roaring Twenties"  ...everyone was still drinking anyway, and...Nascar was born from it.  After seeing the utter failure of the law, Congress did, in fact, REPEAL IT in 1933.  So, as I said......OBAMA IS WRONG.  Congress can eliminate laws "THEY DON'T LIKE" ..as he put it.  Congress has repealed and eliminated dozens of bad laws in the our short history as a nation.

**"One faction of one party in one house of Congress in one branch of government doesn't get to shut down the entire government just to re-fight the results of an election,"   Barack Obama, October 1, 2013

WRONG AGAIN!!!!  American history is LOADED with instances of Congress and State legislatures disagreeing with, ignoring and opposing sitting Presidents!!!   This comment by Obama only serves to show the extent of his arrogance!!!  We CAN oppose him.  Congress CAN oppose him!   Our Constitution gives us, as Americans not only the right, but the duty to fight aginst him if we feel that he is doing harm to our nation!

The fact that Obama flat out REFUSES to budge and go back to the table with Obamacare and House Republicans proves one thing.  It was never, EVER about health care.  It's about control and, HIS WAY!!!  Everything Obama has done has proven to be an economic or strategic failure!!  Energy??  Struggling!!!  Welfare spending??  Doubled since 2007!!  Foreign policy??  Pathetic!!  (Americans are praising an Ex KGB thug for God's sake!!!)  I could go on and on but..........you know his abysmal performance already.

As for the SHUT DOWN???  Yes, Obama owns it........100%, completely.   All Obama had to do was put it off for one year, as House Republicans asked, and everything would have kept on rolling.  ........BUT, that's not what Obama wants.  He wants Obamacare to roll out, fail, cost us trillions and create millions and millions more DEPENDENT Americans.   For a collectivist minded, progressive liberal like Barack Obama...success is measured by how many Americans he can get onto public assistance.  If this was, in fact, a good law, that served to provide health care for those without the means to do so, Congress and the American people would embrace it whole heartedly!!  We are a kind hearted people.  If you don't believe that, take an hour or so and research all of the charitable ornganizations operating within the USA and the trillions of dollars we have spent over the past 100 years helping people in other countries.  If this was a good law, the President would not need 6,000 new IRS agents to enforce it!  If this was a good law, there would not be a FINE taken out of your income tax returns for not signing on to it...and finally....if this was a good law, Congress, thousands of other bureaucrats and 100's of companies wouldn't be exempt from it!!!

No No.....................this was never about health care.  It's about CONTROL, control of our money, our well being and our lives.  Obama is right about one thing.  This IS NOT how a Democracy works.  Besides the fact that the USA is a "CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC", not a (Democracy).......in a true Democracy majority rules and everyone is treated equally.  Obama fails on both counts again!!  A Democracy does not extort income from one hard working individual only to give it to another individual that does nothing for it.  A Democracy does not ignore the will of the majority of the people to appease the minority in exchange for votes!!

Obama is neither Democrat nor Republican.  Barack Obama is a radical, progressive, collectivist, elitist socialist with a proven and well documented affinity for communist principles!   Obama believes in a small, elite ruling class and a nation of dependent servants.  House Republicans know this.  We should applaud them as hero's.  They're trying to save the country, and...our lives.

During a recent chat at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, Antivirus software founder John McAfee unveiled plans to create a gadget called the D-Central which he claims can keep your information safe from the National Security Agency.

The gadget, which McAfee wants to sell for less than $100, would communicate with smartphones, tablets and notebooks to create a decentralized network that couldn’t be accessed by government agencies. Specifically, it would create a small private network that would act as a “dark web” where users could communicate and share files privately.

The device would have a wireless range of about three blocks and those in range would be able to communicate with each other. McAfee has reportedly been working on the gadget for a few years but has accelerated development in recent months given the NSA leaks.

Obamacare not only opens up all Americans to obvious cyber threats nationally, but also globally.

Cyber vulnerabilities originate from Obamacare’s required “Federal Data Services Hub,” which gives access to the NSA, DHS, DOJ, HHS, Social Security Administration, IRS and more. At first glance, it may seem like a simple case of everyone knowing your personal health information, which is bad enough, but the damage is farther reaching.

The first part of it starts with the HITECH Act, a mandate that requires physicians to leave their pen and paper method of dealing with patients and transition to electronic patient charts by 2015. Once doctors have figured out their new computer systems, they have to then get past the normal computer issues that occur, like missing information, software and hardware quirks and any other day-to-day technological malfunctions. Doctor’s schedules don’t normally allow free time to spend training on administrative changes like the ones required by the HITECH Act, and computer errors in patients’ charts can have life-changing implications, up to and including death.

Doctors are no match for cyber hackers like Hidden Lynx, who’s believed to be a China-based cyber hacking group. Symantec says they’ve been operating for years, and have quite the reputation for attacking government systems and financial institutions while remaining stealthy and nearly impossible to stop.

RELATED: Breaking: Door-To-Door Identity Theft Likely Under Obamacare

Although Hidden Lynx may operate in an elite category of cybercrime, don’t be fooled; there are plenty of thieves eagerly waiting for the Affordable HealthCare Act to be in full throttle.

Cyber criminals target health insurance information because they can use records to steal identities and commit fraud. Electronic Health Records (EHR) can give criminals social security numbers, birthdates, diagnoses, treatment information and soon, thanks to the IRS, financials.

Obamacare invites Big Pharma into your private life. “It’s where they access the patient’s chart, prescribe and bill,” said executive chairman of the PDR Network, Ed Fotsch, MD. “Dr. Fotsch’s firm is not an EHR vendor, but its drug information is delivered to prescribers via EHRs,” Medical Marketing and Media reports.

So the cyber-wolves are waiting at the door, waiting for Obamacare so they can devour you; not just the ones in the administration like the NSA, but the domestic and foreign cyber hackers who view you as fair game since the U.S. made EHR a requirement.

Baghdad hit by wave of deadly car bombs

_70187094_70187093.jpg

Footage shows the aftermath of the 13 rush hour blasts, as the BBC's Rafid Jaboori reports from Baghdad

A series of car bomb blasts in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, has killed at least 47 people and injured many more, officials say.

The blasts targeted markets and car parks in mainly Shia Muslim districts of the city.

There has been a recent upsurge in sectarian violence, sparking fears of a return to the bloodletting of 2008.

More than 5,000 people have been killed so far this year, according to United Nations data.

Monday's blasts struck during Baghdad's morning rush hour, with reports of 13 bombs, most of them in Shia neighbourhoods.

Groups of labourers gathering ahead of the working day were among the bombers' targets.

Analysis

The upsurge of violence is taking place against the backdrop of a stumbling political process.

Two weeks ago leaders of a group of main political parties signed an agreement aiming to stop the bloodshed. They dubbed it a Code of Honour. But violence continued and dozens of people have been killed since.

There have been widespread protests in Sunni areas of Iraq against the Shia-led government. Sunnis accuse the government of Prime Minister Nouri Maliki of discriminating against them, something the government vehemently denies.

After Monday's bombings, the ministry of interior's spokesman told me that violence in Syria is spilling over to Iraq. The challenge was huge, he said, and an unstable political process in Iraq only makes it worse.

Al-Qaeda in Iraq, a Sunni extremist organisation, claims responsibility for most of the attacks that target Shia areas. But no mainstream Sunni political party approves violence against Shia.

One of the deadliest attacks was reported from the eastern Sadr City district where seven people were killed and 75 injured in a crowded vegetable market.

Another six were reported killed in Shuala, a mainly Shia area of north Baghdad.

The city neighbourhoods affected also included New Baghdad, Habibiya, Sabaa al-Bour, Kazimiya, Shaab and Ur, as well as the Sunni districts of Jamiaa and Ghazaliya, the Associated Press news agency reports.

'War with terrorism'

No-one has claimed responsibility for Monday's attacks, but Sunni Muslim insurgents have been blamed for much of the most recent violence.

The interior ministry accused rebels linked to al-Qaeda of exploiting political divisions and regional conflicts to sow violence.

"Our war with terrorism goes on," interior ministry spokesman Saad Maan told AP.

The recent upsurge in violence was triggered in April by an army raid on a Sunni Muslim anti-government protest camp near Hawija, north of Baghdad.

Many in the country's Sunni Muslim minority complain of being excluded from decision-making and of abuses by the security forces. Recent raids in Baghdad on suspected al-Qaeda hideouts in mainly Sunni districts are thought to have worsened grievances.

Major attacks this month

  • 30 September: At least 42 killed in car bombs in mainly Shia areas of Baghdad
  • 21 September: At least 60 killed at funeral in Sadr City, Baghdad
  • 15 September: More than 40 killed in blasts across Iraq mostly targeting Shia areas
  • 3 September: At least 60 killed in mainly Shia districts of Baghdad

One of the bloodiest attacks over the past few weeks was a double bombing in a funeral marquee in Sadr City on 21 September, which left more than 60 people dead.

Several dozen people died in a wave of attacks on Sunday, including another explosion at a funeral.

A suicide bomber attacked a Shia Muslim mosque south of the city, causing the roof to collapse. More than 40 people are now known to have been killed in that incident.

Irbil, the normally stable capital of Iraq's autonomous province of Kurdistan, was hit by a series of bombings on the same day, killing six members of the security services. Officials said that violence could be linked to fighting between jihadists and Kurds in Syria.

As Ronald Reagan said, “… the government is the problem”.

Rather than having government to entice entrepreneurs in creating more jobs, President Obama and Capitol Hill Democrats continue to obstruct more barriers for capitalists to overcome.

Today, President Obama and Capitol Hill Democrats are immovable on ‘ObamaCare’, a ‘job-killing’ law that Americans, Businesses, and even, Labor Unions reject; however and to the end, President Obama and Capitol Hill Democrats are determined to ‘cram ObamaCare down (y)our throat’.

Some four years ago, it was Capitol Hill Democrat Party House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi who was driving Capitol Hill Democrats to ‘cram ObamaCare down (y)our throat’.  Today, it is Democrat Party Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, who is driving the issue.

It appears that all President Obama and Capitol Hill Democrats know and/or understand is First; more spending and all deficit spending in excess to government income.  Secondly; it appears these Democrats demand is more taxes on working Americans; a group of those who are willing to work harder and smarter to enhance their family income, and Thirdly; for Democrats, it is all about fully funding and enforcing ‘ObamaCare’.

President Obama and Capitol Hill Democrats seek to support and give more government giveaways to the voters who lack the personal initiative(s) to work harder and smarter to improve their own everyday lifestyle.

A majority of Americans do reject ‘ObamaCare’.  Businesses in the ‘private sector’ reject ‘ObamaCare’.  Labor Unions reject ‘ObamaCare’.  ‘ObamaCare’ is a ‘job-killer’ in our ‘free-market’ economy.  Americans have reached a peak whereas working Americans are over-taxed or Taxed Enough Already (TEA).  Many Americans are determined, willing, and enthusiastic in rebuilding our economy with jobs, jobs, and more jobs in the private sector as soon as government obstructions are removed.

President Obama, Capitol Hill Democrats and the NAACP support ObamaCare.  The ‘main-stream’ Medias support President Obama, Capitol Hill Democrats, and ‘ObamaCare’, most of all who appear to have little knowledge, experience, and/or wisdoms other than their desire for ‘ObamaCare’.

If and whenever President Obama and Capitol Hill Democrats wake up and ‘perceive’ the problems with government, and American voters become engaged in government abilities to recognize that ‘government knows best’ is the wrong direction, and these voters start voting accordingly, then and only then will our US economy explode with growth; more new jobs in the private sector than ever expected.

Senator John Cornyn:

Senator John Cornyn,
It is hard to believe you are the same person I once worked very hard to get elected. You have become a great disappointment the way you act as though the title (Senator) makes you something more than an average American. I seriously hope you understand that a title is no more than a word, when spoken it simply makes a sound which has no value whatsoever. It certainly does ...not make a person more than they are nor does it make them superior to anyone. I find the way you are trying to profit from the hard work of Ted Cruz a little disgusting. You, Sir, can't ride the courage of another (Ted Cruz) to anything but dishonor. I sincerely hope you can show a little dignity and regain the stature you had early in your career. Texas needs your help, that means you represent those who make this country a success, not those who ride on the backs of every working American. It means you listen to us and follow our lead. It means you oppose this administration that is out to destroy our nation, as you well know already. "Senator" are you going to be a patriot willing to put it all on the line for Freedom, Liberty and our Constitution or are you going to carry Obama's Marxist bucket for him like John McCain. We will watch what you do the next few weeks and get your answer.   Elevengun

A sense of the absurd spread on the Senate floor as lawmakers voted a second time within hours to reject a House-passed funding stopgap shortly before a midnight deadline to avoid a government shutdown.

Senators defeated the House proposal along party lines, 54-46 There were no defections. The measure would have delayed the individual mandate, a core piece of the Affordable Care Act, and prevented congressional lawmakers and staff from receiving federal subsidies when they enter healthcare exchanges.

The situation appeared surreal to lawmakers as the clock ticked toward midnight and there appeared no evidence of progress or even negotiations between the two sides.

“Three and a half hours essentially until the government begins to shut down. Can you believe this?” said Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.), the chairwoman of the Senate Appropriations Committee. “We are the United States of America. We are a superpower. We’re supposed to be a nation governed by rule of law and we’re about to shut down.”

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) invoked Albert Einstein's definition of insanity as performing the same action repeatedly and expecting a different result.

He panned the House-passed legislation for increasing the out-of-pocket healthcare costs of lawmakers and staffers.

“This time the House has attached a poison pill that would punish 16,000 congressional staff,” he said.

Senate Democrats left little doubt before the vote they would strike the amendments attached to a stopgap bill funding government through Dec. 15.

Reid declared earlier in the day that Senate Democrats would not accept any changes to ObamaCare. He said they would not even negotiate oven the landmark law until after Congress raises the debt ceiling, which is due to expire Oct. 17.

“We are not going to mess around with ObamaCare, no matter what they do,” Reid said.

“They should get a life,” he said of House conservatives. “It is the law, declared constitutional. The exchanges are coming on board tomorrow.”

Democrats voted in unison against delaying the individual mandate after nine House Democrats defected from their leadership earlier in the evening to postpone the controversial penalty.

The new law’s open-enrollment period begins Oct. 1.

Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said Republicans are desperate to stop the law before Tuesday to prevent people from learning more about the law’s benefits.

“That’s why Republicans want to stop ObamaCare. They don’t want these exchanges to be announced. They don’t want people to see these options. They know what’s going to happen,” he said.

Senate Democratic leaders renewed their call on Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to put the Senate-passed stopgap up for a vote on the Senate floor.

“If they call it for a vote, it will pass. They know it.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said Reid would deserve the blame if the government shuts down Tuesday.

The Republican Party has a new heart, says Matt Drudge—or perhaps at least two.

As Texas Senator Ted Cruz was into his filibuster-like maneuver to bring attention to defunding Obamacare, Drudge took to Twitter to proclaim that the "heart" of the party has shifted.

As Cruz took center stage on the floor of the U.S. Senate, Drudge Tweeted that "Ted Cruz and Rand Paul have taken over the heart of the party." Many would add Utah's Senator Mike Lee to that list. But there was more. Drudge had a warning for New Jersey's top man: "Christie going to have uphill battle against emotion," Drudge said.

Drudge has identified where the momentum is in the GOP as of now. Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and others like Mike Lee now have the lead in the Republican Party.

The so-called “government shut down” and the furloughing of thousands of non-essential federal employees has not prevented the opening of a $2 billion dollar NSA spy center in Utah which will snoop on Americans’ private emails, Google searches and phone calls.

Image: NSA Spy Center, Utah.

As we highlighted yesterday, the shut down will only affect the tiny amount of services government provides that Americans actually like.

Rest assured, TSA grope downs, VIPR checkpoints, drone attacks, SWAT team raids, tax collection, torturing terrorists at Guantanamo Bay, arming jihadists in Syria and running guns to Mexican drug dealers will all continue unimpeded – as will NSA domestic spying.

Although the NSA itself refuses to confirm it, to all intents and purposes the agency’s mammoth new spy center in Bluffdale, Utah “may be open already,” according to the Denver Post.

“The facility is expected this fall to quietly begin sucking in massive amounts of information for the intelligence community and storing it in the cavernous buildings in Bluffdale, Utah, according to NSA officials — and it could be open now even as the agency faces scrutiny over efforts to collect data on Americans domestically,” writes Thomas Burr.

An NSA spokesperson said back in July that the center would be open by the “end of the fiscal year,” i.e., the end of September. The fact that lawmakers have failed to agree on legislation that will fund the government from today onwards isn’t an issue for the agency.

NSA spokeswoman Vanee Vines also recently acknowledged that the center, which covers 1 million square feet of space, is ready for each machine to be switched on. The center will hold 1 trillion terabytes of data. To put that in context, all of the books ever written in any language would need just 400 terabytes.

The facility is set to collect ”complete contents of private emails, cell phone calls, and Google searches, as well as all sorts of personal data trails—parking receipts, travel itineraries, bookstore purchases, and other digital “pocket litter,” according to Wired.

It will be filled with supercomputers that can run one thousand trillion calculations per second as part of a data mining process that seeks to identify suspects “before they commit a crime or associate with terror suspects,” state of the art pre-crime technology that puts the movie Minority Report to shame.

While the center itself will not analyze the data (it only has 200 employees), the information will be scrutinized “at other federal facilities by personnel who can remotely access the information stored in Bluffdale,” reports the Salt Lake Tribune.

The NSA “has broken privacy rules or overstepped its legal authority thousands of times each year since Congress granted the agency broad new powers in 2008,” according to a recent Washington Post report.

The most recent example of domestic snooping emerged only yesterday, when it was reported that the NSA, “is storing the online metadata of millions of internet users for up to a year, regardless of whether or not they are persons of interest to the agency.” The New York Times also reported that the NSA was exploiting such data to create, “sophisticated graphs of some Americans’ social connections that can identify their associates, their locations at certain times, their traveling companions and other personal information.”

This year’s series of revelations about the NSA’s corrupt practices on behalf of whistleblower Edward Snowden did not prompt the federal agency to become more transparent about its activities in Bluffdale.

Forget visiting the facility, despite your tax dollars paying for it, you’re not even allowed to drive into the car park. Even local officials were barred from a ceremony earlier this year to mark the project’s completion. Reporters were also not welcome.

“A few Utah dignitaries have received tours. Most of them have been reticent to discuss what they saw there,” reports the Salt Lake Tribune.

Remember how Americans rejected ObamaCare in General Election 2010?

Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) of General Election 2014 is now acting the same in ‘cramming ObamaCare down (y)our throat’; acting the same as Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) did in General Election 2010 season in ‘cramming ObamaCare down (y)our throat’.

Americans are still rejecting ObamaCare as a continuation of a ‘job-killing’ law slowing and/or stopping our US economy.

President Obama and Capitol Hill Democrats refuse to ‘stop the spending’, restore our economy, and allow entrepreneurs to create jobs in the ‘private sector’.  Most jobs created during Obama’s administration are more ‘government jobs’ in the ‘public sector’; more at taxpayers’ cost.

Have you ever seen so many falsifications as expressed by President Obama and Capitol Hill Democrats?

Thomas Jefferson Once Wrote...

Thomas Jefferson once wrote in 1787, "And what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants..."
