             The question remains, “Are they?” The resistance made its first public appearance at the inauguration. Breaking windows, lighting cars on fire, and striking fear into those who attended the event, #resist certainly made the news. But does violence and vandalism “save democracy”?
               At the so-called Women’s March, angry attendees wore genitalia hats and costumes, while Madonna said she’d like to “blow up the White House.” Saving democracy? You can decide.
               Then came the congressional obstructions. As a bloc, Senate dummycrats-Democrats have slowed the confirmation process at an unprecedented level. A July 2018 report noted the striking differences between the confirmation of Trump’s nominations and the nominations of previous administrations. At a similar time in their presidencies, George H.W. Bush, liar-Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack liar-nObama had 80%, 84%, 72%, and 75% of their nominees confirmed, respectively. Trump has 57%.
               Consider the effect that slowing the confirmation process has on “democracy.” The democratic process gives power to representatives who vote on behalf of the people (which is why we’re a democratic republic, not a democracy). Obstruction challenges rather than supports this process.
               Obstructionism also negatively effects the people of this country. Having a government without the full staff of agency heads and other employees makes everything inefficient for the people. Additionally, obstruction hurts the American people by denying them qualified people in key positions.
               Consider the case of Andy Puzder, nominated for secretary of labor. The son of an immigrant, Puzder worked his way through law school and ultimately became CEO of CKE Restaurants, the parent company of Hardee’s and Carl’s Junior. He knows the value of hard work and understands how to unleash the productivity of the American worker.
               In his book, The Capitalist Comeback, Puzder recounts how protesters came to his front door, held a rally in his town, and drove a billboard through his neighborhood accusing him of abusing women. Perhaps the most alarming incident happened in the form of a mysterious package addressed to his wife. It contained white powder, a paper doll with a noose around its neck, and a pink piece of paper with the words “TRUMP.” Fortunately, no one was hurt.
               Sadly, Puzder withdrew his nomination after lack of support in the Senate. Did the protesting, intimidation, and obstruction “save” democracy?
               In any case, Rep. scumbag/mad-Maxine Waters advocated harassing Trump officials, meaning she evidently does think this wretched behavior “saves” democracy.
               The most recent blockade has been against Judge Brett Kavanaugh, a highly qualified jurist who sits on the DC Circuit Court. A graduate of Yale Law School, Kavanaugh also lectures at Harvard Law School (he was hired by Elena Kagan when she served as dean of the school). Lauded by Right and Left as a brilliant jurist, Judge Kavanaugh now faces baseless attacks on his character, his family, and his legal record. Isn’t obstructing a qualified jurist “endangering democracy”?
               Even the quintessential American sport, football, has been weaponized. The national anthem, long held as the symbol of unity for the American people, has been transformed into a political statement by those hoping to #resist. However, are these people resisting Trump, or American values? How does this “save democracy”?
               The resistance also calls for abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Perhaps the most visible has been the Occupy ICE campaigns, such as the Portland campaign, which left the protest area with blocks of trash, bottles, and used needles. Does protesting and trashing property “save democracy”?
               Many people have begun to question the validity of #resist and the ideology of those who support it. The #WalkAway movement has revealed an awakening of more traditional liberals who do not subscribe to violence, bigotry, and hateful distain for those with whom they disagree.
               As Ronald Reagan stated, “You and I are told increasingly we have to choose between a left or right. Well I’d like to suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There’s only an up or down: [up] man’s old — old-aged dream, the ultimate in individual freedom consistent with law and order, or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism.”
               Reagan understood that dividing lines did not fall between Right or Left. Rather, they fell between Liberty and tyranny. Returning to this basic understanding of America helps to shed light on what #resist represents. The resistance blockades the American people, American values, and American patriotism. The resistance subscribes to violence, lewdness, and bigotry. While considering themselves “progressives,” resistance members regress downward to a divided nation and a country that cannot move forward. Ultimately, they resist unity, democracy, and forward-thinking policy. Ironically, they #resist progress.

             James displays a clear lack of knowledge of sports history. Part of the whole point of sports is that fans are divided over teams they fervently support. To be fair, that’s not his point; James is referring to political and social issues brought up in sports. But who exactly has been using sports as a divisive platform to express a negative view of the nation as a whole? Well, it ain’t Trump. How about Colin Kaepernick and his adolescent protesting during the national anthem, which spread like cancer through the rest of the NFL? Or how about James’s fellow NBA star — and Finals nemesis — Stephen Curry and his public decision to reject a visit to the White House before he even received an invitation?
               It’s rich for James to wax eloquent about how divisive Trump is and how he himself is all about bringing people together, only to then assert in the same interview that he “would never sit across from him” when asked what he would say to Trump if he met him face to face. How inclusive. Clearly, James has exposed himself as nothing more than another wealthy leftist elitist who sees no contradiction in his refusal to meet or speak with the president while blaming that president for the very division he himself is causing.
               Just as the mainstream media seeks to heap all the blame on Trump because much of the nation refuses to accept biased news, James sees a fanbase divided over the anti-American protests of entitled athletes and blames the guy least responsible — Trump. You should keep your mouth shut James and just play basketball.

             Where was scumbag-Acosta’s concern over “hostility whipped up” by people at anti-Trump rallies? Or how about his own insinuation that Trump supporters are dangerously stupid? In an interview with Variety, he haughtily asserted, “They don’t have all their faculties and in some cases their elevator might not hit all floors.”
               As Mark Alexander noted yesterday, however, it’s leftists who often suffer Trump Derangement Syndrome.
                scumbag-Acosta complained, “[Trump] is whipping these crowds up into a frenzy to the point where they really want to come after us.” Nothing likescumbag/mad-Maxine Waters calling for harassment of Trump officials, or a commie-Bernie Sanders fanboy attempting to murder Republicans, we’re sure.
               But scumbag-Acosta also leveled blame at Fox News, adding, “My sense of it is that these opinions these folks have at these rallies, they’re shaped by what they see in the primetime hours of Fox News and what they hear from some conservative news outlets that just sort of give them this daily diet of what they consider to be terrible things we do over here at CNN.” He even had the gumption to accuse Fox opinion commentator Sean Hannity of “peddling lies every night” “for profit.” Talk about throwing stones from glass houses. The irony here is that scumbag-Acosta is the one who claims the mantel of a journalist, something Hannity regularly notes he is not. Yet scumbag-Acosta assumes that his own opinion of Hannity equates to journalistic reporting of the truth. That’s not journalism; it’s hubris.
               It’s precisely this elitist, condescending, know-it-all attitude regularly displayed by much of the mainstream media that has brought on Americans’ ire and distrust. Hannity was kind enough to point this out to scumbag-Acosta, stating, “I’m actually going to give your network some advice, if you have an open mind and an open heart, maybe a little bit of humility. The people of this country are screaming at you for a reason. They don’t like your unfair, abusively biased treatment of the president of the United States.” That, in a nutshell, is why scumbag-Acosta will continue to fail.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson recently asked President Trump, “Why should my son go to Montenegro to defend it from attack?” It is a fair question — one that many Americans were asking following Trump’s performance at the NATO summit — and it deserved a better answer than the president’s musing on the “aggressive” nature of Montenegrins.
               Instead, Trump should have recalled the words he spoke last year in Poland praising the heroes of the Warsaw Uprising, the 74th anniversary of which is being marked on Wednesday. In one of the most powerful speeches of his presidency, Trump recalled the terrible price that millions paid for the West’s failure to deter Nazi and Soviet aggression. “Under a double occupation, the Polish people endured evils beyond description,” Trump recalled: “the Katyn forest massacre, the occupations, the Holocaust, the Warsaw Ghetto and the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, the destruction of this beautiful capital city and the deaths of nearly 1 in 5 Polish people. A vibrant Jewish population — the largest in Europe — was reduced to almost nothing after the Nazis systematically murdered millions of Poland’s Jewish citizens.”
               The reason NATO was created out of the ashes of World War II was precisely to make certain such destruction never happens again. In 1938, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain famously dismissed Germany’s threats to Czechoslovakia, declaring that Britain should not get drawn into war “because of a quarrel in a far-away country between people of whom we know nothing.” The result was 50 million people dead, a continent in flames and the gas chambers of Auschwitz.
               The lesson we learned from that experience is that weakness is provocative. When adversaries believe you are weak, they are emboldened to act — and prone to miscalculate. When they believe you are strong and determined, however, they are far less likely to test you and start cataclysmic wars.
               Trump believes in peace through strength. But to have peace requires not just military strength. As Trump said in Warsaw, “Our defense is not just a commitment of money, it is a commitment of will.” President Ronald Reagan used the military far less than any of those who succeeded him in office not just because he rebuilt America’s military strength but also because America’s adversaries did not doubt his willingness to use it.
               Why did Russian President Vladimir Putin believe he could invade Ukraine and annex Crimea without consequence? It was no mere coincidence that Russia’s intervention happened just six months after President Barack liar-nObama failed to enforce his red line in Syria. Putin saw that liar-nObama imposed no costs on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s defiance, unwilling to launch strikes that a U.S. official said would be “just muscular enough not to get mocked.” At that moment, he knew there would be no real costs for his intervention in Ukraine.
                liar-nObama projected weakness. On taking office, Trump rectified that situation by enforcing liar-nObama’s Syria red line, not once but twice — sending a message of strength that was heard not just in Damascus but in Moscow as well.
               There is a reason Putin despises the NATO alliance so much — and has fought to prevent further integration of the countries of Eastern Europe into it. He knows he may be able to bully his unallied neighbors, but he can’t bully a NATO ally — because that ally is backed up by 28 others, bonded by a mutual commitment to each other’s security and led by an American president who, while seeking friendship with all, is unafraid to flex U.S. military muscle.
               That is why Putin opposed the admission of Montenegro into the NATO alliance, reportedly even backing a plot to assassinate Montenegro’s prime minister in an effort to stop it. That is why Putin wants Trump to fail in his effort to get the NATO allies to meet their commitments and spend 2 percent of gross domestic product on defense. He understands that a weak NATO cannot deter him but a strong NATO can.
               As Trump said in Warsaw, “As long as we know our history, we will know how to build our future. Americans know that a strong alliance of free, sovereign and independent nations is the best defense for our freedoms and for our interests.” The whole point of NATO is not to defend Montenegro; it is to make sure we never have to defend Montenegro — or Warsaw, or Paris, or London again.

             California dummycrats-Democrat Gov. Jerry Brown likewise blamed global warming for the severity of this summer’s wildfires, committing to efforts that “will help prepare the state to deal with the increasingly extreme weather and natural disasters caused by climate change.”
               In truth, this oft-repeated claim lacks congruence. “Scenes of Californians fleeing their homes and Greeks swimming out to sea have fueled alarm about climate change fueling deadly wildfires,” The Washington Times says, “but recent studies show that such destructive blazes are on the decline worldwide. A September 2017 report in the journal Science found that global burned area dropped by about 25 percent over the previous 18 years, a finding consistent with a May 2016 paper published by the Royal Society B: Biological Sciences. … Even in California, which for years has wrestled with fire devastation, a study in the International Journal of Wildland Fire found that the number of wildfires burning more than 300 acres per year has been tailing off since a peak in 1980.”
               Speaking of California, meteorologist Joe Bastardi, in a May column for The Patriot Post titled “Before the Fact: Why Another Big Wildfire Season May Be on the Way,” explained that a soggy March and April in California set the stage for a bad wildfire season. Similar past patterns that preceded the development of El Niño indicated that drier conditions would follow — which they have — thereby aiding the wildfire season in the West. The opposite is true of Florida and the Northeast.
               Regarding the seemingly worsening wildfire conditions, Bastardi offered this insight: “Quite frankly, the buildup in California means residents simply put themselves in positions where nature causes them problems. … As an environmentalist, I think the abuse of nature is not from excess CO2 but from man thumbing his nose at nature and building and paving ill-suited areas and then turning around and blaming something other than the actual cause. When you build houses on beaches that have been shifting forever, what do you think should happen? When you build houses in places that for years were forested, what do you think has to happen?” He added, “Look, it’s your choice if you wish to do that. But don’t go blaming nature when she simply does what she does.”
               There may very well be a man-made component here — just not the one we keep hearing about through the media. But what is perhaps most remarkable is the fact that, despite this particular year’s wildfire season being especially severe and despite the increased risk that comes with city buildup, destructive wildfires are actually waning overall. Whether that trend continues remains to be seen, but it should at least make anyone question the prevailing narrative, which focuses solely on the immediate emotional impact of 24/7 televised destruction and human suffering instead of a reasonable view of the bigger picture.

             Here’s the deal: In June, Defense Distributed was able to force a settlement with the U.S. State Department following a five-year court battle. It started in 2013 when that company released the computer files to make a single-shot .380 ACP pistol that could be produced by a 3D printer. That pistol was called the Liberator. In two days, more than 100,000 copies of the design were downloaded, and the plans were posted on at least 4,000 other sites.
               The liar-nObama administration’s State Department took legal action to try and shut it down — in essence, threatening prosecution for violating arms-trafficking laws. But it was closing the barn door after the horses had made their getaway. Furthermore, other designs are emerging, as this incomplete list on Wikipedia shows.
               To date, there has been no evidence that a 3D-printed gun has been misused to commit a crime. In fact, there are laws already on the books that make using a firearm — any firearm — in a crime an offense with serious jail time. 3D guns are not “undetectable” as Leftmedia reports lament, as there is a 1988 law outlawing such guns. And building your own firearm at home has been legal since our nation’s founding.
               But that hasn’t stopped these states from trying to muzzle a pro-Second Amendment voice. We aren’t ever surprised about this sort of thing coming from the Left, which, more now than ever, is willing to use the power of the government to silence political opponents. Even the once-formidable free-speech defenders at the ACLU are choosing to be silent and, thus, complicit in that trend.
               The public nuisance claim is particularly pernicious when we look at the Second Amendment. In the late 1990s, big-city mayors teamed up with trial lawyers to use the threat of massive legal fees to try to get firearms manufacturers to limit what they produced, even as supporters of the Second Amendment were winning legislative battles across the country.
               This latest threat, though, is a slippery slope. Today, it may be Defense Distributed, but given scumbag-Andrew Cuomo’s actions in New York, would we see other forms of pro-Second Amendment advocacy targeted as a “public nuisance”? We wish this wasn’t a viable worry, but the actions of some hard-left state attorneys general in recent years (not to mention Lois Lerner and the IRS scandal) indicate that it is.
               When it comes right down to it, in their zeal to restrict Second Amendment rights, leftists are now placing a huge target on the First Amendment. This is a development that should frighten all Americans, no matter where they stand on gun control.

             In context, Trump’s full statements were aimed at the very common experience of every American when making a purchase — they are asked to produce a photo ID. Here is the full context of what Trump said:
               In some states, dummycrats-Democrats are even trying to give illegal immigrants the right to vote. They want to give them the right to vote. And what about all those people that are waiting in line for seven, eight, nine, 10 years, trying to get into our country? They don’t have the right to vote.
               We believe that only American citizens should vote in American elections. Which is why the time has come for voter ID, like everything else. Voter ID.
               You know, if you go out and you want to buy groceries, you need a picture on a card. You need ID. You go out and you want to buy anything, you need ID, and you need your picture. In this country, the only time you don’t need it, in many cases, is when you want to vote for a president, when you want to vote for a senator, when you want to vote for a governor or a congressman. It’s crazy. It’s crazy.
                dummycrats-Democrats and the Leftmedia have been sounding the alarm over threats to the integrity of our nation’s elections ever since Trump won the presidency “colluded with Russia to steal the election.” Specifically, they point to Russian meddling that involved posting disinformation on social media sites and hacking liar-Hillary Clinton’s and the dummycrats-DNC’s emails, neither of which was proven to have changed a single vote. And yet for years dummycrats-Democrats have fought every effort to actually protect the integrity of elections by screaming racism every time voter ID legislation is proposed.
               In fact, as Trump pointed out, dummycrats-Democrats are the ones actively seeking to destroy the integrity of elections by seeking to register noncitizens to the voter rolls. In San Francisco, Russian national Elizaveta Shuvalova found out that she had been added to the voter rolls back in 2012 even though she did not become a U.S. citizen until 2017. Upon finding out that her name was on the voter rolls, Shuvalova said, “I’ve never registered for anything in my entire life. This is news to me.” Yet the San Francisco County voter log shows that in 2012 Shuvalova was registered as a dummycrats-Democrat.
               So while dummycrats-Democrats and the mainstream media label Trump a liar and bemoan his supposed lack of effort to secure America’s elections, the real issue here is that dummycrats-Democrats obstruct voter ID laws, the most practical and cost-effective way to actually secure the integrity of our nation’s elections, while advocating for registering noncitizens to vote. That’s blatant hypocrisy.

             Everything, it seems, offends them. Marriage and the nuclear family (father, mother, children), the basic unit of all civilizations for millennia, the Left now considers anachronistic, oppressive, and patriarchal. Leftists oppose the free market, which has lifted more people out of poverty than anything else in human history. They hate individual liberty (because bureaucrats can order our lives better than we can), the rich (except rich progressives), the NFL (not because social justice warriors are protesting the anthem but because the sport is too violent, and there aren’t enough minority coaches and owners), steak, school choice, low taxes, the Constitution, plastic straws, country music, Israel, non-coastal Americans……and laughter.
               Yes, even comedy, which once brought together Americans of all stripes by highlighting the common struggles and absurdities of life in a humorous way, has come under the angry glare of the American Left. There is no aspect of life or culture remaining that leftists aren’t offended by.
               This is leading to the death of comedy. Late-night talk shows were once a welcome distraction from the stresses of life for millions of Americans, but no more. Late-night comedians have become self-righteous moralizers, raging against President Donald Trump as a modern-day American Hitler, while excoriating his supporters as either ignorant rubes or willing accomplices to Trump’s “crimes.” From Jimmy Kimmel’s liar-nObamaCare cry-fests to Stephen Colbert’s vile and graphic anti-Trump shtick, everywhere you turn leftist comedians are trying to out-scold each other over who can hate Trump, Republicans, conservatives, and Christians the most.
               In fact, comedy is being replaced by a form of anti-comedy, as personified by an Australian “comedian” named Hannah Gadsby, creator of “Nanette,” a stage show where Gadsby delves into her own experience with “gender and sexual trauma,” and how women and the LGBT crowd are mistreated and silenced. She lashes out at men — all men — for enabling such abuse. The New York Times calls the show “comedy-destroying.” It’s meant as a compliment.
               Comedians no longer find common ground all Americans can relate to. Instead, they actively denigrate half the population to the vitriolic glee of the other half.
               Of course, not all comedians have followed that path. Many have just given up. Jerry Seinfeld, the undisputed King of Comedy for a generation, quit stand-up comedy because progressives have sucked all of the joy out of it. Instead, Seinfeld is working on the 10th season of a show called “Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee,” which is exactly what it sounds like. He avoids political pot-stirring, and just talks humorously about life. He stopped performing on college campuses because today’s young “adults” can’t listen to comedy without getting enraged and offended. Black comedian Chris Rock, known for his no-holds-barred, edgy comedy, stopped performing on college campuses for the same reason.
               And in an era when so-called liberals get their “news” from leftist comedians, they have lost the ability to identify hyperbole and satire. Recently, such “objective” journalistic outlets as The Washington Post, ABC News, NBC News, and Google News ran supposed news headlines highlighting attacks on President Trump by late-night talk show hosts. And this is news why? It’s not news, of course, but it allows the MSM another way to attack Trump.
               It is a self-destructive cycle. The more hateful the attacks on the president and average Americans by late-night comedians, the more viewers they lose. The more viewers they lose, the more hateful they become in their anti-Trump invective in order to maximize ratings among the remaining, increasingly radical-Left viewership.
               As sad as this development is, it’s also dangerous. More and more, young progressives are becoming incapable of facing setbacks, disappointments, and dealing civilly with those of opposing viewpoints. They require safe spaces and “trigger warnings” in order to be protected from “microaggressions” and other leftist boogeymen. They cheer physical violence against political opponents.
               The more they indulge this radical infantilism, the more incapable they become of dealing with everyday life.
               A recent study by three Harvard University psychologists found, “Trigger warnings may inadvertently undermine some aspects of emotional resilience. … This finding could have significant implications in the context of ongoing cultural debates about the power of language in reinforcing perceived oppression. That is, if we are telling students that words are akin to violence and can cause harm, and then giving them trigger warnings to compound that message, we risk increasing immediate anxiety responses rather than decreasing them.”
               This type of emotional crippling has become so pervasive that a new sub-specialty has arisen in the psychiatric field; namely, treatment of “Trump Anxiety Disorder,” in which the patient fears the world ending as a result of the presidency of Donald J. Trump. That’s an odd thing to fear when the economy is finally thriving and life is generally good in America.
               Yet many leftists genuinely fear an economic collapse, the death of free speech, nuclear war with North Korea, and other doomsday scenarios, despite no realistic justification. And that’s just not funny.

He stopped performing on college campuses because today’s young “adults” can’t listen to comedy without getting enraged and offended. Black comedian Chris Rock, known for his no-holds-barred, edgy comedy, stopped performing on college campuses for the same reason.
               And in an era when so-called liberals get their “news” from leftist comedians, they have lost the ability to identify hyperbole and satire. Recently, such “objective” journalistic outlets as The Washington Post, ABC News, NBC News, and Google News ran supposed news headlines highlighting attacks on President Trump by late-night talk show hosts. And this is news why? It’s not news, of course, but it allows the MSM another way to attack Trump.
               It is a self-destructive cycle. The more hateful the attacks on the president and average Americans by late-night comedians, the more viewers they lose. The more viewers they lose, the more hateful they become in their anti-Trump invective in order to maximize ratings among the remaining, increasingly radical-Left viewership.
               As sad as this development is, it’s also dangerous. More and more, young progressives are becoming incapable of facing setbacks, disappointments, and dealing civilly with those of opposing viewpoints. They require safe spaces and “trigger warnings” in order to be protected from “microaggressions” and other leftist boogeymen. They cheer physical violence against political opponents.
               The more they indulge this radical infantilism, the more incapable they become of dealing with everyday life.
               A recent study by three Harvard University psychologists found, “Trigger warnings may inadvertently undermine some aspects of emotional resilience. … This finding could have significant implications in the context of ongoing cultural debates about the power of language in reinforcing perceived oppression. That is, if we are telling students that words are akin to violence and can cause harm, and then giving them trigger warnings to compound that message, we risk increasing immediate anxiety responses rather than decreasing them.”
               This type of emotional crippling has become so pervasive that a new sub-specialty has arisen in the psychiatric field; namely, treatment of “Trump Anxiety Disorder,” in which the patient fears the world ending as a result of the presidency of Donald J. Trump. That’s an odd thing to fear when the economy is finally thriving and life is generally good in America.
               Yet many leftists genuinely fear an economic collapse, the death of free speech, nuclear war with North Korea, and other doomsday scenarios, despite no realistic justification. And that’s just not funny.

             For decades, Americans have been alarmed by the nation’s increasing levels of self-loathing, driven by the idea that Western civilization in general, and American exceptionalism in particular, are so corrupt they need “fundamental transformation.” DePaul philosophy professor Jason D. Hill puts the blame for this orchestrated contempt exactly where it belongs. “The gravest internal threat to this country is not illegal aliens; it is leftist professors who are waging a war against America and teaching our young people to hate this country,” he asserts.
               Hill explains that college campuses are places where Western civilization “is equated with racism, cultural superiority and pervasive oppression,” courtesy of a “humanities and social science professoriat” whose primary agenda is to “have politicized knowledge supersede truth, objectivity, facts and genuine learning.”
               How? By deriding reason itself as what Hill calls “a Eurocentric creation used to rationalize the existence of colonialism, slavery and genocide of native people.”
               Hence the notion of “white privilege.” The concept remains as trendy as ever among the legions of apologists who somehow fail to see their own racism, despite their assertions that the color of one’s skin automatically confers or denies advantages. “White privilege means that you were born with an inherent advantage over every other race of people,” insists columnist Dahleen Glanton. “The whiteness of your skin alone allows you to leave the starting gate quicker and to run the race with fewer obstacles.” Glanton further claims that “blacks and Latinos have never gotten an equal shake. When affirmative action sought to level the playing field, white people got mad and put an end to it.”
               First, affirmative action remains alive and well, especially on college campuses, courtesy of the 2003 Supreme Court  decision in Grutter v. Bollinger. The Court ruled 5-4 in favor of the “educational benefits that flow from a diverse student body.” Second, it isn’t white students who are challenging this odious status quo. A group of Asians — members of a minority group that is almost always omitted from any conversation about “oppression” because their success eviscerates every justification for it — is suing Harvard University for discrimination in its admission policies. When Harvard’s “holistic” admissions practices get a full airing in court — practices the university currently insists must remain confidential — it will be fascinating to learn which group of minority applicants have been allowed to “run the race with fewer obstacles.”
               In the meantime, the identity politics, victimology and multiculturalism at the heart of the campus grievance culture remain in play, and as Hill notes, they have “reached such astronomical heights in U.S. universities that trigger warnings are issued for students who feel oppressed and traumatized because they have to read the writings of living or dead white men.”
               Such infantilization doesn’t stop there. Students who feel emotionally traumatized by such “horrors” as dissenting viewpoints, or the election of Donald Trump (an “oh, the humanity!” moment for the Snowflake Set if ever there was one), have been assuagedwith Play-Doh, coloring books, Legos, hot chocolate, and puppy videos, all while ensconced in “safe spaces.”
               Those safe spaces, sold as places where identity politics-addled students could “discuss problems they shared in a forum where they were sheltered from epithets and other attacks,” as columnist Frank Furedi put it, have become segregated spaces, highlighted by the University of California’s acquiescence to black students’ demands for segregated dorm rooms. Segregated dorm rooms they laughingly tried to rationalize by calling them “themed living communities.”
               “When everyone retreats to their separate corners,” Furedi writes, “that subverts the foundation on which a tolerant and liberal university is constituted.”
               On today’s college campuses that subversion is a feature, not a bug. It is reinforced by an explosion of campus bureaucrats who now “outnumber faculty 2:1 at public universities and 2.5:1 at private colleges, double the ratio in the 1970s,” and whose primary reason for being is to enforce campus “diversity” standards, The Economist reveals.
               Thus, unsurprisingly, tuition costs have soared over 1,100% in the past four decades and precipitated an average of more than $30,000 of student debt for 68% of 2015 bachelor’s degree recipients.
               This noxious stew, one that engenders demands for “free” college educations, along with numerous other aspects of the socialist/Marxist agenda on campus, is the “educational trope that mediates all forms of learning in today’s universities,” Hill explains. “Rejecting canonical texts and their alleged white supremacist authors is related to advancing socialism,” he adds. “Both appeal to a politics of victimology that purportedly only an emergent brand of post-colonial Marxism could solves.”
               Post-colonial Marxism it all its jackboot emanations remains in full swing at places like the University of Michigan, whose speech code prohibits saying anything “bothersome” or “hurtful.” The code is enforced by “bias response teams” tasked with investigating its violations — on or off campus. At Pierce College in Los Angeles, First Amendment rights are confined to a 616 sq. ft. “free speech area” requiring campus administrative authorization to enter it. And Berkeley, Middlebury College, and Evergreen State University are places where conservatives (and insufficiently “pure” leftists) have been shouted down or driven off campus, sometimes in fear for their lives.
               In the meantime, reality bites. According to data from the National Association of Colleges and Employers student graduates aren’t nearly as proficient in the competencies deemed necessary to enter the workforces as they think they are. In fact, the gap between students’ self-perception and that of potential employers is considerable.
               Nonetheless, Hill worries about the bigger picture. “If elitist scholars infect the minds of our students with anti-Americanism, who will defend America when those who truly threaten us from the outside descend with intent of destroying our republic?” he asks.
               It’s the wrong question. Who is going defend America against the legions of semi-educated students whose increasing infatuation with socialism is bad enough, but far less problematic than a University of Chicago GenForward Survey of Americans, ages 18 to 34, revealing that “62 percent believe we need a strong government to handle today’s complex economic problems.”
               Strong government? How remarkably ill-informed. Our Constitution is the most compelling argument in world history for limited government. That colleges have become indoctrination centers promoting the benefits of strong government — in all its Constitution- and Liberty-shredding parameters — is nothing less than organized subversion.
               Hill wants to put stop to it. “Withdraw your support and leave them to fund themselves,” he urges university donors. “Let them pit their wares on the free market, where they will be left homeless. The world you desired no longer exists in our universities. It lies elsewhere, in a philosophic system waiting to be discovered or created.”
               President Donald Trump is indirectly abetting the effort. Via executive order, he has established the National Council for the American Worker, an initiative aimed at steering both students and older workers toward high-demand jobs. As the New York Post notes, “the Council hopes to shift the popular mindset that every child must go to college.” It is a shift millions of Americans would heartily embrace.

             Yep. You read that correctly. In the U.S. Constitution and our Bill of Rights, the rights guaranteed for voters are directed to citizens of the United States of America.
               Yet the push to expand voting rights to noncitizens has been deemed “another good step forward” by Portland, Maine, Mayor Ethan Strimling, among too many others. Strimling is, of course, a dummycrats-Democrat who cites President Donald Trump and his enforcement policies as his motivation for backing such policies. But don’t think that Maine is the only locale featuring the move by leftist organizations to allow noncitizens to vote.
               Across America, not surprisingly in dummycrats-Democrat bastions, the efforts are rooted in local municipal elections, yet the implications of local decisions have had very real consequences at the federal level.
               In Maryland, according to The Washington Times, there are 11 small municipalities that permit noncitizen voting. Chicago and San Francisco both permit noncitizens to cast ballots in school elections and, now, the Commonwealth People’s Republic of Massachusetts may follow suit. Some want to pass a state law in response to home-rule petitions that have been signed and submitted by Amherst, Brookline, Cambridge, Newton, and Wayland. There was a hearing last Tuesday in Boston at the request of City Council Chairwomen Andrea Campbell, the goal of which was to find “ways to make city elections more inclusive.”
               While dummycrats-Democrats rationalize that it’s just local school board races and municipal elections that are currently impacted, let’s think for just a moment. Is this not validating that noncitizens have their children in taxpayer-funded schools — consuming resources while not fully paying their tax burden? Is it not at the local level that sanctuary city laws originate to stand opposed to a collaborative effort with federal law enforcement to detain and transfer criminal illegal aliens into federal custody for arrest? Is it not also at the local level that trend-setting laws, such as those that push the minimum wage higher than the federal designation, catch on and spread?
               Oh the irony: The very group of people screeching loudest about Russian election meddling is consistently and continually rejecting provisions to protect the value and integrity of elections. They oppose simple photo ID requirements while they are increasingly and brazenly working to secure voting rights for individuals who have decided to ignore current law regarding legal immigration — all in order that they can impact existing and future law. On the one hand, dummycrats-Democrats hide behind allegations of the “racist” disenfranchisement of potential voters by requiring voters prove their identity with a picture ID. On the other hand, they work to dilute the votes of law-abiding citizens with ballots cast by individuals who don’t respect American culture and law?
                dummycrats-Democratic Socialists don’t respect America as the greatest nation on earth — one that affords to its citizens rights and Liberty that are the envy of the world. Today’s Democrats work to circumvent law, process, and mutual respect, whether it’s voting, speaking in public, or protecting this nation’s most valuable resource — our citizens.
               Patriots, it’s time to firmly plant our energies and commitments in unity toward the effort to rid this nation of its internal enemies. Go vote for those who understand the value of the American treasure of citizenship.
