Democrats Destroy ‘Democracy’: Our Founders gave us a Republic — if we can keep it!-Posted on The Patriot Post-By Nate Jackson-On January 11, 2022:

Democrats all around the country are working overtime these days to undermine election integrity. They point to the Capitol riot last year and Republican election legislation in various states as evidence that this is an emergency, though they don’t seem to recall how they sowed widespread distrust in the 2016 election. Congressional Democrats are engaged in a full-court press to pass legislation to fundamentally change American elections. That’s why Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are in Georgia today to make big speeches about how they’re trying to save democracy destroy Liberty.

But it’s not just speeches and arguing over possible legislation. Real changes are afoot, like New York City’s new measure granting voting rights (in local elections only) to the Big Apple’s 800,000 green-card-holding noncitizens, so long as they have lived in the city for a mere 30 days. New York City’s population of 8.8 million is bigger than that of 40 states and it’s the first major U.S. city to do this.

No states allow noncitizen voting — in fact, reports the Associated Press, “Alabama, Arizona, Colorado and Florida, have adopted rules that would preempt any attempts to pass laws like the one in New York City.” And, notes the Washington Examiner, “Congress passed a law in 1996 barring noncitizens from participating in federal elections.”

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican at the center of one of the most contentious states in the 2020 election, says that “we should have a constitutional amendment, a U.S. constitutional amendment, that only American citizens vote in our elections.” Public support for a citizenship requirement is quite high.

Our Thomas Gallatin covered NYC’s measure in early December, but it officially took effect Sunday and it will be put into practice for elections beginning in 2023. Unless, that is, a Republican lawsuit succeeds. The Republican National Committee filed suit Monday, rightly alleging that NYC’s measure violates the state constitution’s establishment of the right to vote for citizens.

Mayor Eric Adams, who simply declined to veto the City Council’s measure after letting go of his earlier reservations, said, “I think it is imperative that people who are in a local municipality have the right to decide who is going to govern them.” In other comments, Adams insisted that “New Yorkers should have a say in their government.” Does citizenship mean nothing? If a green-card holder lives in the city 30 days, is he or she now a “New Yorker”? In fact, the votes of actual New Yorkers are now diluted.

“We build a stronger democracy when we include the voices of immigrants,” said former City Councilmember Ydanis Rodriguez. No, we sustain our Constitutional Republic when citizenship means something.

Yet Democrats are hell-bent on literally de-meaning citizenship. Between Joe Biden’s wide open southern border and Chuck Schumer’s renewed and possible Senate-changing push for election-altering legislation nationwide, NYC’s move is just the tip of a very dangerous iceberg. The 2020 election was distrusted by millions because Democrats had exploited the pandemic to institute things like bulk-mail balloting. They now want to make such election chaos and fraud permanent.

Biden’s speech today, Schumer’s filibuster-busting in Senate, and New York’s change to city elections are all in the same vein — destroying Liberty to ensure permanent Democrat power.

Yet again, Democrats have mastered psychological projection. Rather than brighten the darkness in their own souls, they accuse Republicans of practicing Democrats’ sins. Their latest allegation: The GOP jeopardizes democracy itself.

• “The former president and his supporters have decided the only way for them to win is to suppress your vote and subvert our elections,” President Joe Biden said Thursday at the U.S. Capitol. Marking one year since overzealous Trump backers rioted there, Biden added: “It’s wrong. It’s undemocratic. And frankly, it’s un-American.”

• Vice President Kamala Harris alluded to former President Donald Trump’s voters as “the forces who seek to dismantle our democracy.”

• Rep. Eric Swalwell, D–Calif., told MSNBC on Monday that if Republicans win November’s midterm elections, “voting in this country as we know it will be gone.”

For Biden, Harris, Swalwell, and their comrades, bellowing about Republicans killing democracy is easier than conceding that Democrats, not the GOP, have battered America’s democratic norms and institutions nonstop since at least 2016.

That year, the Obama Justice Department and FBI spied on the opposition party’s presidential campaign. The Russiagate probe was Watergate without the break-in. The basis for Democrat espionage against Trump was the so-called “Dirty Dossier,” funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee. Team Hillary then leaked these Russian lies to pro-Democrat news outlets (excuse the redundancy), which injected them into the public debate over Clinton and Trump.

Soon after Trump’s upset victory, Democrats used print ads, TV commercials, and death threats to pressure Trump’s Electoral College representatives to change their votes.

When this gambit failed, at least 54 congressional Democrats boycotted Trump’s inauguration, dissing America’s peaceful transition of power.

Former President Jimmy Carter said, “Trump didn’t actually win the election in 2016.” Clinton called Trump “an illegitimate president.”

For three years, Democrats advanced the full-throated lie that Trump was a Russian agent. Former FBI chief Robert Mueller’s probe found such paranoid charges utterly baseless.

Antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters trashed and burned government buildings in summer 2020. While some Democrats cheered these rioters, Harris actively raised bail money to spring them from jail.

Democrats weaponized COVID-19 to bludgeon centuries-old voting procedures. “Temporary, emergency measures” included no-excuse absentee ballots, mass mail-in ballots sent to all registered voters (alive or dead), diluted or discarded witness signature requirements, unsupervised ballot drop boxes, and more. Many of these changes were made by secretaries of state, county commissioners, and judges—but not state legislatures, as the U.S. Constitution mandates.

Some of this lawlessness occurred well after voting had begun. With no authority to do so, then-Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar waited until 8:38 p.m. on election eve to direct county officials to return erroneous mail-in ballots to voters, so they could “cure” and re-submit them.

On election night 2020, vote counting mysteriously and inexplicably stopped in Atlanta, Philadelphia, and other Democrat strongholds. Ballots normally are counted overnight, until winners emerge. Instead, canvassing was halted.

A tabulation room at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena was cleared at 10:30 p.m. so election officials could “retire” for the evening. In fact, after journalists and GOP election watchers were sent home, surveillance cameras caught poll workers removing boxes from beneath a covered table and placing the contents—ballots—into counting machines until 1 a.m.

“We want all the Republican challengers out of this room!” yelled a man wearing an official-looking lanyard in a Detroit vote-counting facility. Anti-transparency authorities then covered this tabulation room’s windows with cardboard.

Georgia and Pennsylvania were among the states where Republican poll watchers were barred from counting rooms or kept too distant to scrutinize vote tallies, inspect absentee ballot signatures, and otherwise perform their solemn duties.

Democracy dies in darkness.

Democrats relentlessly have jackhammered the pillars of America’s democratic elections. They are democracy’s natural enemies. And rather than own this despicable distinction, Democrats do what they do best: accuse everyone else of their own evil.

Garland Weaponizes the DOJ: Our nation’s attorney general seems determined not to let the January 6 riot go to waste!-Posted on The Patriot Post-By Douglas Andrews-On January 6, 2022:

Attorney General Merrick Garland, perhaps thinking that not enough attention was being paid to the one-year anniversary of the January 6 Capitol riot and sightseeing tour, decided to weigh in with a 30-minute speech of his own at the Department of Justice.

To no one’s surprise, it was a partisan speech, one befitting a partisan attorney general who’s no doubt still bitter toward Republicans for having denied him his rightful place on the Supreme Court in 2016. And those who’d hoped to hear a full, fair, and honest accounting of the events of January 6 from our chief law enforcement officer were certainly disappointed. And they were no doubt even more disappointed when the AG weaponized the DOJ by using his platform to shill for congressional Democrats who are once again trying frantically to fundamentally remake the nation’s election laws. As National Review reports:

Attorney General Merrick Garland used his Wednesday speech marking the anniversary of January 6 to rally support for a pair of bills that would federalize election law and are nearly unanimously opposed by congressional Republicans.

“The Department of Justice will continue to do all it can to protect voting rights with the enforcement powers we have. It is essential for Congress to act to give the Department the powers we need to ensure that every eligible voter can cast a vote that counts,” Garland said after recounting events of January 6.

Of course, Garland’s party, the Democrat Party, is increasingly becoming the Party of Voter Fraud. Why else would its members be so resistant toward the commonsense voter ID laws that Republicans are trying to enact in various states? Why else would they be so averse to measures that will help ensure that only eligible voters are able to cast votes in this country?

As National Review continues: “One of the bills under consideration, the Freedom to Vote Act, would set national standards for voter ID laws to include a range of documentation, set a national minimum 15-day early voting period, declare election day a federal holiday, and make it easier for residents to sue state legislatures over redistricting claims.”

As our Nate Jackson put it earlier this week: “Democrats and their accomplices in the Leftmedia are doing everything they can to hype the anniversary of January 6, making faux-somber pronouncements about ‘democracy’ and issuing dire warnings about the ‘right-wing extremists’ who supposedly threaten it. And then Democrats will turn right around and attempt to make permanent the very election fraud and chaos that brought a mob to Washington last January with legislation that constitutes the real ultimate threat to voting rights and our Republic.”

There’s plenty of other material to unpack from Garland’s speech, but if we had to pull out one howler, one knee-slapper that stood out above all others, it’d probably be this quote: “We do not investigate or prosecute people because of their views.”

Yeah, right.

The laughter you hear belongs to artist, addict, influence peddler, tax evader, and gun-law violator Hunter Biden. And it belongs to all the Black Lives Matter thugs and antifa goons who carried out nearly 600 other riots nationwide during the summer of 2020 and cost dozens of Americans their lives and did an estimated $2 billion in damage. And to J6 agent provocateur Ray Epps and the other earpiece-wearing, gun-toting J6 inciters who’ve somehow managed to avoid arrest and have their photos mysteriously disappear from the FBI’s Most Wanted posters. And to the mysterious pipe bomber who’s somehow managed to avoid being ID’d and arrested after having placed explosives outside the Democrat and Republican national headquarters in one of the most thoroughly surveilled cities in the world. And, of course, to the hundreds of rioters who burned cars and smashed storefronts in the nation’s capital during President Donald Trump’s inauguration and somehow managed to have all charges against them dropped by the Department of Justice.

We could go on.

And yet, hundreds of J6 rioters, protesters, and sightseers are still languishing in prison, still being denied their Sixth Amendment right to a “speedy trial” and their Eighth Amendment guarantee against “cruel and unusual punishments.”

But, no, Joe Biden’s Department of (Two-Tiered) Justice doesn’t “investigate or prosecute people because of their views.”

We wish you a peaceful January 6. And we say “good riddance” to the Democrats’ weird and obsessive efforts to celebrate this day.
