They’ve tried literally everything short of ordering a hit on him, and he still stands. They have exhausted every avenue, option, and possibility, and they are left with a bag of nothing.

They tried a fake dossier, a made-up narrative that the media put on repeat. They accused him of a high crime for a transcript of a phone call. They accused him of advocating violence when his words said precisely the opposite. Now they are trying to say he obstructed justice when he, in fact, followed the request of the FBI to the letter. Now they are trying to say that another phone call is evidence of a felony when again, his exact words prove otherwise. Now they have indicted him for something that if a crime is even evident (and clearly it is not), the statute of limitations ran out years ago. They tried to argue he avoided paying taxes, only for the record to show he followed the tax code with precision. They want to argue now that he intends to defraud the government of what he owes in taxes, even though during his four years in public office, he refused his $400k salary and returned it in full to the government coffers.

No elected leader has been more maligned, lied about, and attempted to be neutralized as they have with former President Trump.

I was reflecting on some things over this somber holiday weekend. I am intrinsically interested in relooking at history and seeing what lessons we learn from it. Hence my thoughts scurried to the 2016 cycle, where this imminent fear of Trump created this panic in America’s political left. The ensuing desperation dragged them into the utter gutter of criminal political action.

You may have forgotten that there were 17 primary rivals of President Trump. Even in the field of 17, it was obvious that the GOP had undergone a complete transformation. The establishment-backed candidates did the worst. Jim Gilmore, John Kasich, and Jeb Bush were all decent governors, but they represented something the base of the party began rejecting before Trump.

Three Tea Party candidates ran in that cycle: Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, and Ted Cruz. With two of those three winning states in the primary journey. Eventually, Cruz bowed out after Indiana, which did not happen until May 3. But in losing that state the last statistical possibility to defeat Trump was removed.

The interesting thing about the 2016 cycle was that Cruz had built the most impressive Presidential campaign organization in my lifetime. He had people literally on the ground in every county of the nation. And he had raised impressive amounts of cash to go with it.

But Trump did things very differently; much leaner, more cost-effective centralized rallies cost far less than what candidates had been used to. In the end, Trump spent a bit less than a dollar for every vote he secured, while Jeb Bush broke the bank on how costly his acquisitions were.

This mattered for a very important reason. It signaled to the left that Trump’s support was an unstoppable groundswell. Nearly eight years since he drew as many people, if not more, than he did in that arduous campaign cycle of 2016.

The politics of the Tea Party were the forerunners of America First, and from that standpoint, when adding up the Trump, Cruz, Rubio, and Paul votes in the primary, it’s easy to argue that the party already was “America First” in substance, only the label would trail until Trump’s arrival in the White House. (Important note: Cruz, Rubio, and Paul have all gone on to serve as vital allies of Trump in the Senate, with each of them steering their respective committees to America First priorities.)

The truth is, as Trump called out fake news, it wasn’t that he was showing America something they hadn’t seen. They had known or suspected journalism malfeasance gaslighting them for years. Trump affirmed what they saw, thought, and felt.

He did that on nearly every policy he touched, in nearly every foreign affair, energy, national defense, and economically related policies he implemented. He was so effective that it drove desperation to get rid of him at all costs by his opponents even deeper.

America is an America First nation. We want our economy to work, we want our energy to be abundant, and we’ve had it with “trusting” the “smart people” on the important stuff. The elites don’t like it because it means they can’t continue to gaslight and control us.

And they don’t like him because he keeps reminding us that it’s not about him; it’s about the nation and what is best for us and our children.

He is being severely attacked in an unlawful and genuinely dishonest fashion. If the Biden crime family could throw him in a gulag, he’d already be there.

The silly people who don’t have one-tenth of the organization or one percent of the money that Cruz raised for 2016 should go have coffee with him.

There’s an apparent reason why Cruz, Rubio, and Paul aren’t running for President. Like Nikki Haley, they are in their prime. Like Ron DeSantis, they are young. Like the Mikes (Pence and Pompeo), they saw firsthand the good that can be done in a Trump administration.

It took a pandemic and mass blanket ballot distribution, Zuckerberg drop boxes, and vote mules to cause him to lose re-election when he received the most votes of any incumbent in history.

America has also seen an administration that is more committed to pronouns and surgeries for minors (behind their parents’ backs) than they are to the welfare of our entire nation’s future.

And the only way the anti-American forces would defeat him (hence the people) would be to jail him.

A task they will fail at in a humiliating fashion.

A Powerful Movement Seeks to Transform the USA - The Stakes Have Never Been Higher!-Posted on The Western Journal-By Bob Ehrlich-On April 8, 2023:

It is now approximately eight weeks since President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address and, as expected, most Americans would be hard-pressed to recite any memorable words or phrases from the occasion.

Alas, the age of social media and a relentless 24/7 news cycle ensure that every president’s SOTU is soon forgotten. Throw this president’s staid style into the mix and the speech’s shelf life shrinks even further.

All of which makes it noteworthy that Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ official response still generates buzz, on the right and the left. The talk was well-written, well-delivered and crushed the always-low expectations for such an appearance.

One memorable line continues to reverberate. In framing the latest iteration of America’s culture wars, the governor went for the jugular: “The choice is between normal and crazy.”

Such a piercing choice of words (of course) triggered the usual suspects. A typical chorus of “vicious conservative” was the considered response from the easily triggered left.

This got me thinking about the point in time when the progressive political program abruptly shifted from the traditional to… what Sanders said.

For context, many of you will easily recall the good ol’ days circa six years ago, or really any point in time prior to the election of 2016.

It was during these years that the major political parties fought over large and important issues: defense spending and health insurance and Roe v. Wade and capital gains tax rates and trade deals. Your Econ 101 professor used to differentiate the parties’ respective priorities in rather simple terms: “More guns or more butter?”

And then things changed in the blink of an eye:

• Police department budgets were cut or defunded.
• Cashless bail replaced… bail.
• Domestic energy independence was jettisoned.
• A Supreme Court nominee could not define the word “woman.”
• Border walls were deemed “racist.”
• Illegal migrants were given the right to vote in some local elections.
• Parents were told to butt out of their children’s education.
• Toddlers were branded “oppressor” or “oppressed.”
•  A man was declared a women’s swimming champion.
• We were assured the world was (literal) toast in 10 years.
• Speech codes on campus replaced free speech.
• School districts began eliminating gifted and talented courses.
• The Pentagon bought into “woke” hook, line and sinker.
• Gas stoves were targeted by federal and state regulators.
• Our southern border was opened to the world.

That many of these initiatives took root or metastasized as a reaction to the tenure of the uninvited disruptor, Donald J. Trump, is a matter of historical record. Indeed, the shocking election result of 2016 sent most of America’s power centers over the proverbial cliff.

But history will reflect that the establishment quickly coalesced around a common goal: Trump (and “America First”) had to be taken down, and the good ol’ USA had to be transformed.

And so an equally disruptive movement was hatched. It defeated the mean tweet machine from Queens… and has now indicted him. It has steadily gained acceptance within one of our major parties. It is extremely well-funded and viewed approvingly by many who rent space in our cultural power centers: Big Tech, the legacy media, academia, Hollywood and professional sports leagues.

Most important, it is focused on transforming just about everything viewed as traditional in America.

Back to Sanders’ speech. The really big question for 2024 is whether “crazy” will continue to carry the day or whether “normal” will make a long-postponed reappearance.

Some say the stakes have never been higher — that a successful transformation would be difficult to walk back. Most of us flyover types tend to agree.

House Judiciary Committee Announces Special Visit to Alvin Bragg's Manhattan in Bid to Hold Him Accountable!-Posted on The Western Journal-By Randy DeSoto-On April 10, 2023:

The House Judiciary Committee plans to hold a field hearing on April 17 in New York City to examine how Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s policies have led to an increase in violent crime.

“We’ll be hosting this hearing next week from NYC. We’ll be hearing from victims who are suffering under DA Bragg’s pro-crime policies. If Bragg can spend resources indicting President [Donald] Trump, he should be able to address the soaring crime in NYC,” committee member Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona tweeted.

The New York Post reported that the field hearing, titled “Victims of Violent Crime in Manhattan,” will be held at the “Jacob Javits Federal Building just blocks from Bragg’s Lower Manhattan office and the courthouse where Trump, 76, was arraigned on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records last week.”

A source told the Post that Bragg himself might be among the witnesses invited to testify at the hearing.

The DA’s judgment has been called into question following his decision to charge former President Donald Trump, reportedly over hush money payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal before the 2016 election.

Multiple legal experts have described Bragg’s case as weak and clearly politically motivated.

Bragg told reporters after last week’s hearing that the case rests on Trump falsifying business records with the intent to conceal other crimes, which is a felony in New York.

However, the indictment does not list the other crimes.

In his remarks, Bragg cited a $130,000 payment then-Trump personal attorney Michael Cohen made to porn star Stormy Daniels prior to the 2016 election, but nondisclosure agreements are not illegal. Daniels has alleged that she and Trump had a sexual encounter in 2006.

The DA indicated the payment that Cohen made and that allegedly was later reimbursed by the Trump Organization exceeded the federal campaign contribution limit and was made to “promote a candidacy by unlawful means” based on New York state law.

But the $130,000 didn’t go to Trump’s campaign, and the then-Republican presidential candidate could have had other reasons he didn’t want Daniels’ allegation made public besides the 2016 race.

Federal prosecutors and the Federal Election Commission have already reviewed the payments and declined to charge Trump.

As House Republicans stated, crime is up (by 22 percent) in New York City under Bragg, who took office in January 2022.

“Alvin Bragg’s radical pro-crime, anti-victim policies have led to an increase in violent crime in New York City,” House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan tweeted Monday.

Bragg’s office only had a 51 percent conviction rate in felony cases, down from 68 percent in 2019 under then-Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance Jr.

Further, Bragg’s prosecutors downgraded felony charges to misdemeanors 52 percent of the time versus 39 percent in 2019.

The Post reported that Bragg has refused to comply with document requests from three House committees relating to the Trump case, including requests for communications his office has had with the Department of Justice.
