If you look up the “deep state,” you’ll find that it’s still labeled as a political conspiracy theory.

“What deep state? How dare you say there's a deep state!” mocks Glenn Beck, mimicking the mainstream media and certain government officials, who have repeatedly denied the existence of such a nefarious network.

But now a Democrat from North Carolina is advocating for the creation of a deep state to fight Trump in his second term.

Glenn plays a clip of Congressman Wiley Nickel (D-N.C.), who he calls “the moron from North Carolina,” arguing that Democrats need to form the U.S. version of Britain’s shadow government to oppose Trump.

“As Democrats, we simply failed to convince the American people we have better ideas to solve their problems, but we do. Now, we need to dust ourselves off and get ready to fight,” Nickel began. “We can't let Donald Trump's extreme MAGA agenda go unanswered or unopposed. Zone defense isn't going to work. We're going to have to go man-on-man, so here's an idea for how to organize our opposition: We need to borrow from our British friends and appoint a shadow cabinet to fight back against the worst abuses of a second Trump administration.”

“What he's proposing here out in the open on the official record would be the American version of the U.K.'s shadow cabinet by naming the top-down elected agents that secretly will run our country through the administrative deep state because they lost because they couldn't convince you that those were good ideas but they know better,” explains Glenn.

Except — Nickel’s proposal is “already being done,” which is why “things never change no matter how you vote,” he adds, noting that many people are probably angry at Nickel for “[saying] the quiet part out loud.”

Glenn points to how the deep state is currently doing everything in its power to sabotage Trump before he takes office.

“Last month Sen. Mike Lee posted on X how the top down was trying to pre-sabotage Trump's presidency. It included a full-year resolution that would prevent Trump from cutting programs from the Biden administration, more Ukraine funding and extension authority,” “a farm bill that has a five-year extension so no one like RFK Jr. could do anything to any of our food, and tons of other things that will neuter the administration before it can get a chance to make a single change,” he says.

On top of that, certain governors are preparing to oppose Trump in every way possible.

“Gavin Newsom opened a special session in California to get ready to fund the resistance to Donald Trump,” says Glenn.

Further, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs, as well as governors of other states are vowing to resist Trump’s mass deportations efforts.

“Blue states are about to go full-on resistance,” says Glenn.

FORT LIBERTY, N.C. — Following recent domestic terrorist attacks, senior leaders of the Special Operations community have organized a hasty symposium at Joint Special Operations Command headquarters to address a critical vulnerability revealed by the tragedies, sources confirmed today.

“Our community has faced its share of struggles in recent years, and the events of January 1st show that we can no longer paper over our shortcomings,” said Marine Col. Francis Jessup of Marine Special Operations Command. “America watched firsthand as an Army computer nerd executed a complex, multilayered mass casualty attack while a few states over, a special operator cooked himself in a Cybertruck like a pastry at the Pop-Tarts Bowl. Our nation expects only the best from SOF, including their transition to the crazed veteran life, and we fell short. Starting on January 2nd, we will — we must — do better.”

The attacks Jessup referred to occurred in New Orleans and Las Vegas. In the first, a former Army Human Resources and information technology specialist planted multiple improvised explosive devices before driving a truck through packed crowds and engaging in a shootout with police. The second incident involved a Green Beret who parked a Cybertruck in front of the Trump Hotel in Vegas and shot himself before setting off incendiaries that included fireworks and camp stove fuel.

“The ATF agent who said he expected greater sophistication in the explosive based on Green Beret training captured the problem in a nutshell,” admitted Jessup. “We’ve lost our edge, and that’s clear from the composition of the bomb to the choice of vehicle. A Cybertruck? Really? It’s such a piece of shit that no one could tell if a car bomb happened or the car just did that.”

Navy SEAL Cmdr. Walt Kurtz admitted that SOF standards had noticeably declined over the years when it came to stacking bodies, especially in contrast to the regular forces.

“We put our best guys out there,” said Kurtz, “guys like Clint Lorance, Eddie Gallagher, and Mathew Golsteyn, and they were only clipping onesies and twosies. Then, back at home, some desk jockey shrink like Nidal Hasan racks up a higher body count than all of them combined. Hell, even those National Guard POGs at Abu Ghraib knew how to stack bodies. What I wouldn’t give to trade that charred Tesla for an old-fashioned sex pyramid right now.”

“We’re all trying to figure out where things started going off the rails,” Kurtz noted. “I dunno, maybe if we actually focused on training to kill people rather than banging our subordinates and popping pills, the Trump Hotel would be a smoking crater, and we wouldn’t be having this conversation. But we gotta get back to basics so that when SOF vets go crazy, they’re putting elite numbers on the board. One dude and a Cybertruck? Those are rookie numbers.”

Defense Secretary-nominee Pete Hegseth echoed Kurtz’s concerns and promised that things would change in the Trump administration.

“I know a thing or two about high body counts, so I’m well-positioned to right the ship,” affirmed Hegseth. “Get the woke DEI shit out of the way so our warfighters can be warfighters. Like my buddies Clint, Eddie, and Mathew, they could’ve easily hit New Orleans stats if it weren’t for the bureaucrats.”

Meanwhile, Hegseth’s proposed policies have given Jessup cause for optimism.

“If Secretary Hegseth lets us get back to a culture of absolutely no oversight and complete lack of accountability,” beamed Jessup, “we feel confident that the next SOF vet who blames gravitic propulsion for the voices in his head can easily achieve double-digit casualties at his local Memorial Day parade. After that, maybe the Secretary can fix our broken acquisitions process. It’s a damn shame that the F-150 now has more confirmed kills than the F-35.”

The Biden administration released 11 Yemeni terrorists, who were captured after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, from Guantanamo Bay.

While the men had been “approved for transfer by national security officials” more than two years ago, they were approved to be transferred to Oman on Monday, according to NPR News.

Oman reportedly “agreed to help resettle them and provide security monitoring” for the 11 prisoners, who are described as being “former al-Qaeda members,” according to records from the U.S. Department of Defense.

The outlet noted that the transfers of the prisoners were “originally scheduled to happen in October 2023,” but were paused “due to concerns” regarding the “instability in the Middle East” in the aftermath of Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack on Israel.

That the plan was resurrected during President Biden’s final two weeks in office signals a last-ditch effort by his administration to shrink Guantanamo’s prisoner population and get closer to his goal of trying to close the facility. In recent weeks, the U.S. has transferred four other Guantanamo inmates — a Kenyan, a Tunisian and two Malaysians — and is preparing for the transfer of at least one more, an Iraqi.

Oman has stated that it plans to assist the 11 Yemeni prisoners in finding “housing, jobs and other support systems” in an effort for them to “rebuild their lives,” according to the outlet.

This is not the first time the Biden administration has released a prisoner from Guantanamo Bay who has links to terrorist organizations.

As Breitbart News’s Frances Martel previously reported, in June 2022, Assadullah Haroon Gul, an Afghan national who had links to Al-Qaeda, was released from Guantanamo Bay.

The now-defunct Afghan military detained Haroon in 2017 on the grounds that he was “a commander in Hezb-i-Islami Gulbuddin, a paramilitary group then allied with al-Qaeda,” the Washington Post reported last year. The D.C. newspaper referred to Haroon as a “low value” detainee given that the group that he was allegedly a member of was now an active participant in the U.S.-backed Afghan government. Al-Qaeda is closely tied to the Taliban, which was the pretext the government of the United States used to invade Afghanistan and overthrow its first government in 2001.

In March 2022, the Department of Defense under the Biden administration also released Mohammad Mani Ahmad al-Qahtani to Saudi Arabia. The release of al-Qahtani came after he had spent “nearly 20 years in prison for his involvement in the September 11 terrorist attack.”

Biden has previously stated that he wants to close Guantanamo Bay by the end of his term as president, according to CNN.

Biden Admin Nearly Halves Guantanamo Bay Population with Overnight 'Secret Mission!'-Posted on The Western Journal-By Joe Saunders-On January 7, 2025:

President Joe Biden’s pardons and commutations have already made his lame-duck transitional period notorious.

Now, in what The New York Times described as a “secret operation” early Monday, he’s nearly halved the population of the country’s most notorious prison for terrorists and terrorism suspects.

He sent Guantanamo Bay prisoners back to the Middle East.

The transfer was announced in an after-the-fact news release from the Defense Department, which stated that 11 Yemeni nationals had been shipped from the American military base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to the Sultanate of Oman.

All of the men are former members of the terrorist group al-Qaida who were captured in the aftermath of the 2001 terrorist attacks, according to NPR.

Two of the men are suspected of having served as bodyguards to the now-deservedly deceased al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, according to the New York Post.

The Biden administration was on the cusp of releasing them to Oman back in October 2023 when the plan was “derailed” by objections in Congress, according to the Times.

And there are still objections in Congress.

In a post on the social media platform X, GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia called the move “utterly shameful.”

She was replying to a post by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who’d used the same words to describe reports that President-elect Donald Trump planned to pardon some of those convicted for their role in the Capitol incursion of Jan. 6, 2021.

“He’s trying to cause as much damage as possible on his way out,” the conservative LibsofTikTok X account commented.

The Times reported that the transfer left the prison — a culturally and politically charged institution popularly known as “Gitmo” — with just 15 prisoners, in two buildings with room for 250.

It is the fewest it’s held since it opened with 20 prisoners in January 2002, according to the Times.
