Carlos Khalil Guzman: Showing the True Face of Islam (Part 4)

15

Carlos Khalil Guzman is a “revert” to Islam who is now going about the country, taking pictures of cheerful, fresh-faced smiling Muslims, each of whom is asked to choose a favorite verse in the Qur’an, or a saying by Muhammad in the Hadith, and to explain why he, or she, has made that particular choice.

So far, [Guzman has] taken 52 portraits across about 26 states. His goal is to take 114 portraits, to symbolize the 114 chapters in the Quran. He hopes to finish the project this year, and later turn the entire series into an interactive traveling art exhibit. He said his sense of urgency to complete the project has been spurred on by reports of increasing levels of hate crimes against American Muslims.

He hopes his audience can come to understand that the challenges faced by Muslims in America are connected to the challenges faced by other marginalized groups.

“What affects one oppressed community in this country affects another oppressed community,” he said.

Are Muslims an “oppressed community” in this country? Where is the evidence for this? In the series of manufactured “hate crimes” used to swell the numbers of the latter? In all the examples of smarmy interfaith outreach where Christians and Jews feel they have to defend Muslims and Islam, but never feel they have an obligation to find out first about what is in the texts of Islam, and what Muslims are routinely taught, and especially how they are taught to regard Infidels? They defend the faith, by taking it on faith. If it is claimed by Guzman that Muslims are “oppressed” in this country, he should offer the evidence. What we see is something that hardly suggests oppression: the unseemly haste with which the media rush, after every atrocity committed by Muslims, to defend all the “real” Muslims and Islam, repeating the absurdist mantra that “Islam has nothing to do with Islamic terrorism,” the politicians and writers of editorials focussing after every attack by Muslim terrorists on the “need to reassure the Muslim community,” and holding those Interfaith meetings where Christian and Jewish clergymen stand side-by-side with their Muslim brothers. ” And at the same time the coherent critics of Islam, who carefully adduce the textual evidence from Qur’an, Hadith, and Sira, are cast into the outer darkness as “Islamophobes” and find that both Google and Facebook direct people away from them. In other words, at every step, far from being “oppressed,” the Muslim community finds itself the recipient of very public and uncritical support.

French Mayor: “It’s a war between Islam and Western culture”

Dateline Paris, France – 2017: In France, a land with over 2,000 years of history, and a nation with 1,000 years of continuous national history, there appear to be clear lines of separation between “foreigner” and “native,” “Muslim” and “Frenchman.” Thankfully, the symbolism of identity and the meaning of heritage have not been completely obliterated in the psyche of the real French people. The article below reveals to us this fact, and give us cause for hope and faith in a self-preserving France, once a bedrock of Western culture.

In spite of the sober-minded and lucid understanding of the worsening immigrant situation in France, even this mayor had to relent and allow for a new large mosque to be built in his city to accommodate the Muslim immigrants living there. It would appear that the Western Man is condemned to go down seeing at least what he is up against. Unlike his counterparts in pagan antiquity (the Roman Empire of the 3rd century of our era) who went under not seeing and oblivious to the dangers that overtook them, the modern Western Man can at least lay a claim to being informed, in no small part thanks to this website and watchdogs like Pamela Geller.

Xavier Lemoine (UMP): “Muslims declared war on France, it’s either us or them”

The left-wing Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz revisits the anti-Semitic provocation mounted by the small group “Tribe KA” in the Rue des Rosiers and takes the opportunity to draw up a very focused survey of immigration issues in France, through the riots in the suburbs and the claims of the descendants of slaves “who wish to obtain the same status as the survivors of the Holocaust.”

by Grégoire Seither

To illustrate his article, the local correspondent of Ha’aretz, Daniel Ben Simon, visited Xavier Lemoine, UMP party’s Mayor of Montfermeil. He has already several times presented his ideas of “war of civilizations” in the French press, but has obviously been self-censored every time so as not to fall under the anti-racist law. On the other hand, as Alain Finkielkraut had already done – also to an Israeli newspaper, when he speaks to the foreign press, Xavier Lemoine takes less precautions.

For Xavier Lemoine, the “Muslims” declared war on France and sought to subdue it. For the French (understood, the Muslims are not French) it is a matter of life or death. France must set an example on Israel to take care of the Muslims on its soil.

It is interesting to note that Daniel Ben Simon is so busy communicating with Xavier Lemoine in their common detestation of “Arabs” that he does not realize that Lemoine’s speech resumes the Nazi imagery of the 1930s on the Jewish plot world.

As sociologist Didier Cavin put it in Le Journal de Quebec: “For if Muslims are not compatible with France, what should we do with them? To force them to convert like the catholic kings of Spain in 1492? Expel them? But what about the millions of French Muslims? The reversal of their citizenship as the Germans did with the Jews in the 1930s? Putting them in concentration camps as did the United States with citizens of Japanese origin during the Second World War? If France is at war with the Muslims, must the army be sent to “pacify” the ghettos as it pacified the Aures and the Mitidja in Algeria in the 1950s? The warriors of Western civilization take good care not to publicly answer these questions, which stem directly from their argument. ”

Selected Interview Pieces:

“Look,” he said, standing in front of the window of his office and pointing to the neighbors of immigrants. “It’s them or it’s us. If they win, we are dead. I am proud to be French and Catholic and I do not intend to live as a ‘dhimmi’ in my own country. We are different from them and these people are not compatible with France. We are caught in the middle of an Islamic war on all fronts – Iraq, Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Everything that happens there has repercussions here in France and influences immigrants. ”

Initially he believed that “rebellion” was caused by poverty and problems of integration into a new society. But he quickly realized that Muslims represent a cultural challenge for his country. An incident, for example, continues to haunt him.

“It was two months after September 11,” he recalls. “We had a drawing contest in our kindergartens and kindergartens. I was stunned to find that 20% of the children, all Muslims, had drawn Ousama bin Laden under the figure of a cultural hero. This discovery continues to make me chill in the back. ”

Following the recent Muslim riots in Montfermeil, he was pursued by nightmares in recent nights. In a dream, he sees immigrants coming out of their homes and burning the city. He is convinced that Muslim immigrants have declared war on France and intend to bring it to their knees. He considers that in this war the Jews are allies. “I feel that my country is ashamed of its culture and values. When France denies its own history and continues to ask for forgiveness for slavery, conquest and colonization, how then can we be surprised that the immigrants stand up against it and show no respect for it? Unfortunately, by welcoming them, France did not require them to change. It allowed them to speak Arabic and cultivate their culture at the expense of French culture. ”

[Ironically] Montfermeil will soon begin the construction of a mosque with a minaret 12 meters high. According to Lemoine, he yielded to the pressure and granted the building permit in order to combat the shortage of Muslim places of worship. The new mosque will serve the 25,000 Muslims in the area. He hopes that the prayers and cultural activities offered will calm the spirits; but he has no illusions. “It’s a struggle between two cultures,” he sighs. “It’s a war between Islam and Western culture. France and all of Europe are in danger. If we refuse to see the extent of the Muslim threat, we are gravely at risk.

Explosive: The Insidious Roots of Campus ‘Safe Spaces’

“Safe spaces.” “Speech codes.” “Consciousness raising.”

These are the slogans and catchphrases of the modern politically correct campus. For most Americans, they are simply expressions of political correctness run wild or of overly sensitive students being coddled. And while such developments might seem silly or stupid, most people certainly don’t regard them as dangerous . . .

Those behind this bizarre “new” phenomenon, Kengor shows in “The Marxist roots of the ‘safe spaces’ movement,” have drawn their influence from thinkers from the farthest reaches of the political Left, including:

Michel Foucault, an important theorist of the New Left, author of “A History of Sexuality” – and also a drug-obsessed homosexual and member of the French Communist Party;

Bell Hooks, a cultural Marxist, who worked to promote the idea of “education for critical consciousness,” which transforms the purpose of education from the transmission of knowledge and tradition, to turning students into agents of “deconstruction”;

Roy Moore Wins Senate Race

Roy Moore Wins Senate Race

By Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns. Roy S. Moore, a firebrand former chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, overcame efforts by top Republicans to rescue his rival, Senator Luther Strange, soundly defeating him on Tuesday in a special primary runoff.

The outcome in the closely watched Senate race dealt a humbling blow to President Trump and other party leaders days after the president pleaded with voters in the state to back Mr. Strange.

Propelled by the stalwart support of his fellow evangelical Christians, Mr. Moore survived an advertising onslaught of more than $10 million financed by allies of Senator Mitch McConnell, the majority leader. His victory demonstrated in stark terms the limits of Mr. Trump’s clout.

Taking the stage after a solo rendition of “How Great Thou Art,” an exultant Mr. Moore said he had “never prayed to win this campaign,” only putting his political fate “in the hands of the Almighty.” (Read more from “Roy Moore Wins Senate Race” HERE) https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/26/us/politics/roy-moore-alabama-senate.html?mcubz

Roy Moore Shows off Gun at Rally

By Jessica Estepa. The night before Alabama’s Senate runoff, Republican candidate Roy Moore pulled a gun out of his pocket at a campaign rally.

Per a video of the Monday rally, the former Alabama chief justice said false ads had said he didn’t believe in the Second Amendment.

“Nearly three months of negative ads that we couldn’t answer with money because we didn’t have it,” he said. “Ads that were completely false, that I don’t believe in the Second Amendment.”

He then paused before pulling the gun out.

“I believe in the Second Amendment,” he said, leading to cheers from the crowd. (Read more from “Roy Moore Shows off Gun at Rally” HERE) https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2017/09/26/alabama-runoff-candidate-roy-moore-pulls-gun-out-campaign-rally/703313001/

Saints Quarterback: Respecting the Flag More Important Than Making a Point

Fighting against racism does not mean failing to treat the American flag with respect, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees said Sunday.

After the New Orleans Saints defeated the Carolina Panthers, what happened on during the game took second place to the growing furor over protests that occurred during the playing of the national anthem.

On Friday, President Donald Trump criticized players who protest racism by failing to stand for the anthem, causing players, coaches and owners around the NFL to take a stand.

Brees said Trump came down too hard.

“I disagree with what the president said and how he said it,” Brees said. “I think it’s very unbecoming of the office of the President of the United States to talk like that, to the great people like that, and, obviously, he’s disappointing a lot of people.”

Brees said that there are two problems on the table — one is that not all Americans have an equal chance at success, and the other how NFL players are responding to that issue.

“Let me say this first – do I think that there’s inequality in this country? Yes, I do. Do I think that there’s racism? Yes, I do. I think there’s inequality for women in the workplace; I think there’s inequality for people of color, for minorities, for immigrants,” he said.

Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=160&v=Qv2pnEwoGco

How NFL players respond to that issue determines whether he is with them or not.

“If the protest becomes we’re going to sit down or kneel or not show respect to the flag of the United States of America and everything it symbolizes and everything it stands for, everything our country has stood for to get to this point, I do not agree with that,” he said.

Brees said the anthem should bring Americans together, not divide them.

“Looking at the flag with your hand over your heart is a unifying thing that should bring us all together and say, ‘You know what, we know what things are not where they should be, but we will continue to work and strive to make things better and bring equality to all people,’” Brees said.

Brees also said the anthem is a time for respect.

“I will always believe that we should be standing and showing respect to our flag with our hand over our heart. I will never say it’s OK to not show respect to the flag of the United States of America during the national anthem,” he said.

Brees, whose grandfather served in World War II, said the flag is a symbol all Americans should hold dear.

“That is the symbol of showing respect to our country. I won’t. I don’t think that that’s OK because of all who have fought so hard and died and sacrificed so much for us to have the things we have, to have the freedoms that we have. The very freedom of the speech that we are talking about was born from that flag,” he said.

Although 10 New Orleans Saints did not stand for the anthem, contradicting what Brees believes is right, he did not expect the issue would divide him team.

“I’m not sure exactly what happened pregame because I was locked in, but I’ll talk to all my guys and we’ll be fine,” he said. USAA Members Demand Organization Cut Ties With NFL

Members of the United Services Automobile Association (USAA) are calling for the company to end its sponsorship of the NFL after the string of recent protests during the national anthem, Sharon Ko of WTLV in San Antonio reports.

Since 2011, the USAA has served as the Official Military Appreciation Sponsor of the NFL, with the league shows appreciation for the military through its “Salute to Service” campaign.

But USSA members angry with the NFL are voicing their displeasure in community page forums and demanding the company cut ties with the league.

“Time for USAA to stand up, re-think its sponsorship of the NFL, remove all funding for the NFL, and send that $$$ somewhere worthy. Like it should have been done by noontime today, 25 Sep 17, Eastern,” wrote GoldenRudy.

“If you sponser [sic] them, you are neither honoring nor appreciating the military community. How is the NFL encouraging America to respect and say ‘thank you; to our military if they can’t even have their players show respect for our flag?! Our men come home dead underneath our flag! Cmon USAA do the right thing….” another user, Krispirkle wrote.

One user, John C., declared he has begun cancelling his USAA accounts.

“I just called to begin canceling my USAA products. The offices are closed now so I’ll call again in the morning. Credit card will be first. I have plenty of those. Insurance will be cancelled after that; I just have to find replacement coverage first. USAA, more than any other sponsor, should take the lead in dropping the NFL and sending a message. Absent that, this isn’t the company I thought it was so I’ll find other providers and send my own message,” he said.

And a contributor named Phyll said he was “ashamed” of the USAA.

“My dad died at age 61 from Agent Orange poisoning from his time in Vietnam. He was in the peacekeeping forces in Korea. He became an officer in the field in WWII. The National Anthem is the song praising America,” Phyll wrote.

“If not for the soldiers who fought, died, came home with horrible disabilities, our freedom would not be guaranteed. We all have 1st Amendment rights but disrespecting our country in this way is not the answer. Protest but don’t disrespect. Ashamed of USAA and I’ve been a member for decades!”

In its immediate response, the USAA announce there are currently no plans to end its sponsorship of the NFL.

But USAA did contact the NFL to “emphasize the significance of the national anthem.”

White NBA coach says white people ‘especially’ need to be made ‘uncomfortable’; U.S. an embarrassment — Video

While appearing on Monday’s edition of ESPN2’s “The Paul Finebaum Show,” San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich launched into a tirade against white people, Donald Trump and the United States, asserting that white “people have to be made to feel uncomfortable.”

“Well, because it’s uncomfortable, and there has to be an uncomfortable element in the discourse for anything to change. Whether it’s the LGBT movement, women’s suffrage, race, it doesn’t matter. People have to be made to feel uncomfortable, and especially white people because we’re comfortable. We still have no clue of what being born white means,” he said.

“If you read some of the recent literature, you’ll realize there really is no such thing as whiteness, but we kind of made that up. That’s not my original thought, but it’s true,” he asserted.

“Because you were born white, you have advantages that are systemically, culturally, psychologically there. And they have been built up and cemented for hundreds of years. But many people can’t look at it. It’s too difficult,” he added.  “It can’t be something that is on their plate on a daily basis. People want to hold their position, people want the status quo, people don’t want to give that up. And until it’s given up, it’s not going to be fixed.”

Here’s video of his statement:

Here’s another, longer clip, where he says that “our country’s an embarrassment.”

“Our country is an embarrassment in the world,” he said.  “This is an individual that when people held arms during games, [he thought] that they were doing it to honor the flag. That’s delusional. But it’s what we have to live with. You’ve got a choice: We can continue to bounce our heads off the walls with his conduct, or we can decide the institutions of our country are more important, people are more important, [the] decent America we all have and want is more important — get down to business at the grassroots level and do what we have to do.”

Paul Joseph Watson observed:

It’s odd that all this “white privilege” doesn’t extend to violent encounters with cops (the very thing the ‘take a knee’ gesture was started to protest). Figures show that significantly more white people are shot dead by cops every year, despite black people committing more violent crimes.

Popovich also failed to explain how white people being “uncomfortable” about their skin color is going to prevent the relentless carnage that is black on black murder.

Around 2400 black men are killed by other black men every single year. Compare that to just 16 unarmed black men who are killed by police every year (about the same number who get struck by lightning).

None of that has anything to do with “white privilege,” but then again, Popovich doesn’t really care about black lives, he cares about tedious virtue signalling and genuflecting to political correctness to make himself look good.

Writing at the Gateway Pundit, Cristina Laila correctly noted:

Millions of white people and Christians were starved and murdered because of Communism but they had white privilege so who cares, right Popovich?

Well over 1 million WHITE American men have died in wars, including the Civil War which ultimately freed black slaves. How’s that for ‘white privilege’?

There are also many impoverished whites in America today yet the left continues their attacks. This is precisely why Donald Trump won the 2016 election. Americans are fed up with round-the-clock accusations of racism.

Popovich, who happens to be white, served in the Air Force during the 1970s.

Reporter Asked Steve Bannon About Anthem Protests, What He Said Next BLEW Their Mind..

1.3k
SHARES

Steve Bannon was just asked about the recent controversy of NFL teams taking a knee during the National Anthem. What he said next blew them away!

lTHEY SHOULD TAKE A KNEE…EVERY NIGHT & THANK GOD IN HEAVEN DONALD J. TRUMP IS PRESIDENT”

Whew! Get em’ Bannon. Then Bannon issued a warning to the disrespectful NFL teams that will make them scared to go to sleep tonight.Steve-Bannon-696x392.jpg

Bannon wasn’t kidding around when he said he was going to go to war for President Trump.
Are you ready to go to war with the NFL?

The NFL owners look past the insulting behavior that goes on under their watch. They are actively working to divide this country and take away American values. Let’s make this go viral. If they want a war with we the people, they are going to get one.

The White House chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon’s departure was widely applauded, and not only by the Washington establishment Mr. Bannon has spent a career excoriating. After the news broke, traders at the New York Stock Exchange “literally cheered,” according to a CNBC report.

Yet the reaction was not uniformly positive. Supporters of Mr. Trump’s America First nationalism worried that Mr. Bannon’s exit might sever the ties between the president and his electoral base.

“Any move to fire Bannon,” wrote the editor of the pro-Trump website American Greatness in recent days, “is more dangerous to the future of the Trump administration than anything Robert Mueller can do.”Image result for steve bannon

But Mr. Trump’s supporters are wrong to worry. Mr. Bannon is the latest in a long line of political advisers whose reputations are inflated after an election victory. Mr. Bannon may have given much thought to traditionalism and populism, may have publicized its themes as chairman of Breitbart.com, may be able to name drop René Guénon, Julius Evola, Jean Raspail, Neil Howe and William Strauss. But President Trump’s inflammatory response to the clashes and killing last week in Charlottesville, Va., made it clear that it is he, and not Mr. Bannon, who maintains a gut connection with his most die-hard supporters. The most important culture warrior in this administration sits at the Resolute Desk.

But his career as a political consultant has been short and checkered. As the president has observed, Mr. Bannon did not join Mr. Trump’s campaign until August 2016, by which time Mr. Trump had secured the Republican nomination. Mr. Trump’s general election victory was remarkable. It was also something of a black-swan event. There is a tendency, especially among Mr. Trump’s supporters, to overlook the fact that, had some 79,000 votes in three states gone the other way, the winner of the popular vote would now be in the White House.Image result for steve bannon

Since his inauguration, President Trump’s numbers have steadily declined. He is at 39 percent approval and at 55 percent disapproval in the Real Clear Politics average of polls. The low standing depletes Mr. Trump’s political capital and his leverage over Congress. It endangers Republican control of one or both legislative chambers. Perhaps it is time to take advice from someone else.

Of course, Mr. Trump does not seem inclined to listen to anyone at all. That is even more reason not to exaggerate Mr. Bannon’s influence. Mr. Bannon may have encouraged Mr. Trump to follow his instincts, but that is precisely the point: Mr. Trump’s natural inclinations are in perfect harmony with the voters he refers to in casual conversation as “my people.” Mr. Bannon may have encouraged Mr. Trump not to back down from his positions on the violence in Charlottesville and on the place of statuary memorializing the Confederacy. But the final decision, like all decisions in this White House, was Mr. Trump’s alone.Image result for steve bannon

Will you join President Trump and Bannon? if you will, do the following…

Busted! NFL rules require
anti-anthem players to appear on field
by BOB UNRUH
{wnd.com} ~ Who would have thought the National Football League – those teams with big guys who chase a little ball all over the gridiron – would get caught up in a fight over the First Amendment’s free-speech protections?... But it has, in an explosive way. With the one-sided display over the weekend demonstrating that some speech is praiseworthy, laudable and to be honored. While, in contradiction to the First Amendment, other speech is not. Specifically, speech that disrespects the U.S. flag or the national anthem is supported, while statements honoring the flag are not. The NFL’s operations manual, which, unlike its rule book, is not available to the public, states:

“During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

Lebron James, An liar-nObama Soros Agitator Athlete, Falsely Labels Trump The Divider
{/rickwells.us} ~ Cleveland’s “Hands up don’t shoot, I can’t breathe,” Lebron James told a public gathering that he salutes the NFL and all of those who, like him, are hating on America... as if he has any experience with salutes. He does so with his fingers tugging on and playing with his right ear. There are other places we could recommend he stick one or two of those fingers if he finds his salute to be less than satisfying for him. With a slight but noticeable lisp, ‘Le Brown” commends the anti-white, anti-cop, anti-conservative forces that are bringing America together by tearing it down, by disrespecting our history, our culture, our monuments and our flag, by attacking white people and promoting thuggery... https://rickwells.us/lebron-james-obama-soros-trump/

Roger Goodell’s Priorities Are ALL WRONG!
by Jim Bowman and Jeff Dunetz
{lidblog.com} ~ Once again our President is taking sports driven heat through an anxious anti-Trump media when stating his approach to this Kaepernick inspired insanity... However, as has proven to be the case over and over, our President is totally correct because he has the right priorities. On the other hand, the priorities of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell are not only narcissistic but all wrong. Tell me what’s so oppressive in our society which justifies this National disgrace of millionaires disrespecting the country which provided them with the opportunity to get rich? Are there injustices by authority? Yes, but when the people in authority are the police, the questionable conduct is very rare and far between, and any solution to this problem exists far away from an NFL sideline..http://lidblog.com/roger-goodell-priorities-are-all-wrong/

Finding Ourselves in History
by Tom McLaughlin

{tommclaughlin.blogspot.com} ~ To the old aphorism “The more you know, the more you know you don’t know,” I would like to add: “…and neither does anybody else.” None of our best historians understand all of history. They specialize. They study what happened in a particular time and place. They try to be objective in a Jack Webb-style: “Just the facts, Ma’am,” but that can make for dull reading. So they adopt the writing style of a storyteller. They humanize the main characters, illuminating both virtues and flaws. They make judgements. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t sell many books. If they’re also teachers, and many are, their students would fall asleep.Like the late star of Dragnet, historians are trying to solve a mystery, but unlike him they’re not going to arrest a perpetrator. They may, however, tarnish a reputation here and burnish one there. Such may be their intent when beginning their research. The best historians try hard to be unbiased, but they know they’re human and will always fall short of perfect impartiality. Others only offer a pretense of impartiality.
Bias or fact?

Another human factor that may work to distort history I will call peer pressure. When historian colleagues all tend to interpret the events of a particular time and place in a particular way, there’s a strong tendency to go along. One might dare to offer a slightly different shade of meaning but to go further would risk being shunned or even attacked.
When I taught history I’d do what many teachers do and parse the word, suggesting it can mean: “his story.” as if there may be other stories offering different perspectives on the same events.  Feminists like to parse the word too, but emphasizing the “his” part as biased in favor of men, and that students might want to think of it as “herstory” as well.
Never was I taught history as a separate subject until fourth grade when Sister Charles Paul passed out the first history books at St. William’s School in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. By the end of September I’d read all of it and longed for more, but no more came along. I don’t remember getting any more history texts until I went to high school and had Western Civilization I and II. Then it was US History in junior year and that was it until college. Never did I sense a love of history in my teachers though. Many high schools gave US History classes to football coaches who had little or no interest in them.
After my risk of getting drafted declined in 1971 I dropped out of college, then went back in ’73 after deciding to become a teacher. For that I needed degrees and took a few more uninspiring history courses, so my interest in history had to be sated by my own research. After being horrified watching the Adolph Eichmann trial with my father in 1961, I learned all I could about the Holocaust. Then the Vietnam War affected everyone in my demographic as my best friend and others I grew up were sent there. Some died and all were profoundly changed, so I learned all I could about that as well. Thus did those two phases of history became my own specialities.
D-Day, WWII

When students came to me with little or no historical perspective or interest, I devised methods to help them to fix themselves in time. Digital imagery became available in the ’90s, so I encouraged students to bring in pictures of their ancestors to be scanned. Then they digitally constructed horizontal timelines of the 20th century with pictures of their parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents across the top above the years corresponding to their lifespans. Across the bottom they put images of major world events occurring during those lifepans. Just as Vietnam had dominated my generation, World War II and the Great Depression affected the lives of their grandparents and/or great-grandparents. World War I affected their great-great-grandparents, and so forth. They could also import pictures of presidents who served during those lifespans.
Ellis Island

After that exercise, study of relevant historical occurrences became personalized. My hope was they would gain a deeper understanding of how world and national events can have enormous effects on the lives of ordinary people. Many students were thus motivated to question surviving ancestors about those events. Thus they’d fix family members in time and gain a deeper understanding of where they fit in too.
Last week’s column concerned fixing students in space by learning geography. My hope was they would leave my class having merged the two skills. They would be able to visualize where their ancestors came from, know when they came here, and even why. They’d be motivated to research further back in time as well as further away in space, and then realize how they came to be here — living and speaking English in rural Maine.

The NFL’s operations manual, which, unlike its rule book, is not available to the public, states:“During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.” http://www.wnd.com/2017/09/busted-nfl-rules-require-anti-anthem-players-to-appear-on-field/

Lebron James, An liar-nObama Soros Agitator
Athlete, Falsely Labels Trump The Divider

Yes, but when the people in authority are the police, the questionable conduct is very rare and far between, and any solution to this problem exists far away from an NFL sideline... http://lidblog.com/roger-goodell-priorities-are-all-wrong/

Son of Hamas Founder Shakes Up UN Human Rights Council: "If Israel Did Not Exist, You

by PATRICK GOODENOUGH
{familysecuritymatters.org} ~ The U.N. Human Rights Council's perennial debate focusing on condemning Israel witnessed an unusual intervention Monday... a strong-worded statement in Arabic-accented English slamming not Israel but the Palestinian Authority. Speaking for less than 90 seconds, the speaker questioned the legitimacy of Mahmoud Abbas's P.A., accused it of jailing and torturing its critics, and called it the "greatest enemy of the Palestinian people." "If Israel did not exist, you would have no one to blame," he declared, concluding by accusing the P.A. of using the HRC platform "to mislead the international community, to mislead the Palestinian society to believe that Israel is responsible for the problem you create."... http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/son-of-hamas-founder-shakes-up-un-human-rights-council-if-israel-did-not-exist-you-would-have-no-one-to-blame?f=must_reads

If they’re also teachers, and many are, their students would fall asleep.

Like the late star of Dragnet, historians are trying to solve a mystery, but unlike him they’re not going to arrest a perpetrator.

{thenewamerican.com} ~ The John Birch Society has been enduring rampant smears of late, being called anti-Semitic and a white nationalist group... But the truth is far different — and always has been. If you represent any sort of threat against the establishment and its globalist agenda, prepare to be ruthlessly demonized and lied about by that same globalist establishment. Exhibit A is, of course, President Donald Trump. After announcing that he was running on an anti-globalist platform to “drain the swamp,” the billionaire businessman was relentlessly smeared across every propaganda organ the establishment possesses. If the “fake news” media, as Trump correctly calls them, is to be believed, the president is a racist, white supremacist, anti-Semite, white nationalist, lunatic, conspiracy theorist, agent of Vladimir Putin, and another Hitler...  https://www.thenewamerican.com/print-magazine/item/26980-using-truth-to-fight-globalist-lies-about-the-john-birch-society

{townhall.com} ~ “From the Soviet Union to Cuba, Venezuela, wherever socialism or communism has been adopted, it has delivered anguish, devastation and failure. Those who preach the tenets of these discredited ideologies only contribute to the continued suffering of the people who live under these cruel systems…”– President Donald Trump, Sept. 19.

A big takeaway from my prior years in ministry is that things aren’t always as they seem. Sometimes people hide dark secrets behind nice smiles and happy faces.

Here in the U.S., gobs of sorely misinformed people fantasize about the pie-in-the-sky idea of socialism, having no idea all it does is make everyone except those in charge poor and miserable.

Even so, socialism barkers put on happy faces and try to sell socialism like snake oil salesmen.

And then there is President Trump, who told it like it is during his U.N. General Assembly speech, which will likely go down in history as one for the ages.

Trump said, “The problem in Venezuela is not that socialism has been poorly implemented, but that socialism has been faithfully implemented.”

You could almost hear all the air being sucked out of the room by horrorstruck socialist world leaders forced to face the truth head-on: Everywhere socialism is implemented it eventually fails.

Venezuela, the weight loss capital of the world, is falling apart.

Socialist policies picked this oil rich country bone-dry.

Former president Hugo Chavez justified stealing businesses from private citizens in the name of spreading the wealth around. He nationalized just about every industry to supposedly level the playing field and create financial equality.

Then he went spend-happy.

For a short while, Venezuelans enjoyed freebies like the single payer healthcare system that Congressional Democrats here in the U.S. want so bad they would probably be willing to sell everything you own to get it, if that’s what it would take.

The government became Venezuelans’ sole provider. Along with free healthcare, they also received subsidies for energy and food.

Then the healthcare system collapsed and the economy went kaput.

Devoid of basic necessities like food, medications, or even toilet paper, Venezuelans now forage through trash like wild animals and even eat dogs and cats to survive.

All that, while current president Nicolas Madura and Chavez family members live in the lap of luxury.

Yes, folks, socialism works.

It works for leaders who steal it from the folks at the top, bottom and middle.

They’ll tell you every time they are doing it to share the wealth. Chavez talked the socialism talk while he was lining his pockets. When he died, he left his daughter Maria Gabriela Chavez around $4 billion, Miami-based newspaper Diario Las Americas reports.

Americans should be very leery of Democrat Party politicians whose eyes light up like blow torches at the mention of the childishly romantic idea of socialism. Sen. Elizabeth dinky-Warren is a multi-millionaire who lives in a $2 million mansion. Bernie Sanders has three homes, including a $600,000 lake house. Former President liar-nObama is worth tens of millions and rakes in $400,000 per speech from the Wall Street folks he once rail against.

Like Chavez, Democrats tend to blame much of the inequities in the world on capitalism.

Greedy capitalists didn’t rape Venezuela, greedy socialists did.

The Economist reports Chavez “expropriated and redistributed wealth to weaken enemies and woo allies” and “undercut the oil wealth that funded Venezuelan socialism.” Then, the inevitable happened, Venezuela ran “out of other people’s money,” just like former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher once said.

Apparently, her wisdom is far too yesteryear for current Prime Minister Theresa May, who issued President Trump a stiff-lipped smackdown for “pursuing protectionism” during her UN speech. May said protectionism might “undermine support for the forces of liberalism and free trade that have done so much to propel global growth.”

Meanwhile, malnourished Venezuelans are fleeing in droves to escape the death throes of a socialist nightmare.

The NFL's Worst Fumble Yet
UNm-x2Eu827unComUQG_wHpmijlTgMVdoi3uxWhf6xdEV1_MPOmxytroGMHl16WmgWpNU15Zbq0fC6oYG9q1d4jzyc18y6yOPMNtg83S4_qws3DV86isVuOVwP4BrxM=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?width=500by Nate Jackson:  President Donald Trump tapped into the sentiment of the vast majority of Americans over the weekend, and the Leftmedia hate him for it. “Trump turns sports into a political battleground,” headlined The Washington Post, as if athletes, coaches, owners and commentators hadn’t already politicized sports. What Trump did do was give voice from the most powerful bully pulpit in the land to what many Americans already think: Athletes who make millions of dollars each year to entertain us on the field should not spit in the face of our great nation by disrespecting the national anthem before games. Take the activism off the field.

“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a b—h off the field right now. Out! He’s fired. He’s fired!' ” Trump said Friday. “You know, some owner is going to do that. He’s going to say, 'That guy that disrespects our flag, he’s fired.’ And that owner, they don’t know it [but] they’ll be the most popular person in this country.” Trump made other similar comments throughout the weekend.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell responded with a complete lack of self-awareness: “Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities.” It is the NFL that is allowing divisiveness and “an unfortunate lack of respect” for our country to be showcased every Sunday.
“Roger Goodell of NFL just put out a statement trying to justify the total disrespect certain players show to our country,” Trump responded on Twitter. “Tell them to stand!
“This kind of thing is why he’s president,” mused National Review’s Rich Lowry. “He takes a commonly held sentiment — most people don’t like the NFL protests — and states it in an inflammatory way guaranteed to get everyone’s attention and generate outrage among his critics. When those critics lash back at him, Trump is put in the position of getting attacked for a fairly commonsensical view.”
The reaction in the NFL was predictable. Many more players joined the anthem protests, taking knees and locking arms. Even a couple of owners joined in. One instance that stood out was the Pittsburgh Steelers, who didn’t take the field at all until after the national anthem — except for Steelers offensive tackle and former Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva. “This We’ll Defend” is the U.S. Army motto, and he upheld it with honor. For his part, coach Mike Tomlin was critical … of Villanueva. “I was looking for 100 percent participation. We were gonna be respectful of our football team,” he complained of Villanueva standing alone. Tomlin hoped to avoid controversy by skipping the anthem entirely, he claimed, but we’ll bet his Rust Belt fan base sees it differently. The same goes for the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks, who skipped the “Star-Spangled Banner.”
Worse, the Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars took their protest to London, where they disrespected our nation and flag on foreign soil. Yet they stood for the UK’s anthem, “God Save the Queen.” God save the one who can’t see why that’s outrageous.
Of course, it all started last year when Colin Kaepernick, who was abandoned by his black parents, then adopted and raised by a loving white couple, complained, “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.” Leftists made Kaepernick a hero for his, er, stand, and then a martyr when no team would pick up the struggling quarterback and his following media circus.
Two weeks ago, ahead of the 9/11 attack observance, former Cleveland Browns Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown criticized the Browns team and Kaepernick for disrespecting our country: “I’m going to give you the real deal. I’m an American. I don’t desecrate my flag and my national anthem. I’m not gonna do anything against the flag and the national anthem. … This is my country, and I’ll work out the problems, but I’ll do it in an intelligent manner.”
That is the “real deal,” and the Browns got off their knees, but apparently there are still a lot of petulant overpaid adolescent athletes who think NFL fans are buying their fake celebrity indignation.
As The Wall Street Journal put it, “Americans don’t begrudge athletes their free-speech rights — see the popularity of Charles Barkley — but disrespecting the national anthem puts partisanship above a symbol of nationhood that thousands have died for. Players who chose to kneel shouldn’t be surprised that fans around the country booed them on Sunday.” Millions more aren’t booing — they’re just tuning out.
And while the media blame this all on Trump, all he did was represent Americans fed up with the Left’s political garbage.  ~The Patriot Post

Beginning Of The End Of MUELLER Witch Hunt? –
New Sessions Chief Of Staff Signals Just That

{rickwells.us} ~ Perhaps it’s his plummeting respect among patriotic, conservative Americans, the open criticism on conservative news outlets, a fear for his job, or something else that got AG Jeff Sessions’ attention.

Whatever it may have been, it seems that the alarm has rung and he’s starting to awaken from his eight months of hibernation. America may be about to have an Attorney General again.

There’s still time for the Trump agenda to be saved and an aggressive Attorney General, particularly on the heels of the rampant corruption of the liar-nObama regime, is indispensible in that effort.

Signaling the DOJ may be open for business, Attorney General Jeff Sessions has just appointed as his new chief of staff a former US Attorney for the Southern District of Iowa during the George W. Bush years, Matthew Whitaker.

What could make his appointment particularly significant is that he has recently stated that the Mueller investigation could be turning into a witch hunt. There are many who would argue it’s been a witch hunt from day one, but this statement coming from the new chief of staff is undeniably a positive development.

Whitaker, who was a CNN legal commentator, wrote last month that President Trump was “absolutely correct” in his assertion that it was a “violation” for special counsel Mueller to investigate the Trump family’s finances.

Whitaker wrote, “Mueller has come up to a red line in the Russia 2016 election-meddling investigation that he is dangerously close to crossing. If he were to continue to investigate the financial relationships without a broadened scope in his appointment, then this would raise serious concerns that the special counsel’s investigation was a mere witch hunt.”

He contended that Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein should “act to ensure the investigation is within its jurisdiction and within the authority of the original directive. It is time for Rosenstein, who is the acting attorney general for the purposes of this investigation, to order Mueller to limit the scope of his investigation to the four corners of the order appointing him special counsel.”

He’ll be able to influence and help to guarantee that Rosenstein does just that in his new position but there is little doubt that his appointment, coming on the heels of such a clear public statement denouncing the Mueller atrocity, is also intended to send a message to Mueller and Rosenstein.

Prior to accepting the position as Sessions’ chief of staff, Whitaker was the executive director of the Foundation for Accountability & Civic Trust (FACT), a conservative watchdog group focused on Democrat ethics issues. There’s nothing more troublesome in the broad range of unethical activities by Democrats than the ongoing Mueller effort to unseat the President.

Whitaker made the statement in May that he believed there was a “strong case” to be made against former espionage criminal liar-Hillary Clinton and that she should be “extremely grateful” she wasn’t prosecuted. Maybe he can do something to correct that Comey – Lynch collaborative miscarriage of justice as well.

Whitaker replaces Jody who has been nominated to become assistant attorney general in charge of the department’s Civil Division.

Mass grave of 28 Hindus killed by Rohingya Muslim terrorists found in Myanmar

Source: Mass grave of 28 Hindus killed by Rohingyas found: Myanmar army – Times of India

Myanmar’s army said today that a mass grave of 28 Hindus had been discovered in violence-wracked Rakhine state, blaming the killings on Muslim Rohingya militants.

The announcement could not be independently verified in an region that has been seized by communal violence since Rohingya militant raids on August 25 triggered a sweeping security crackdown.

“Security members found and dug up 28 dead bodies of Hindus who were cruelly violently and killed by ARSA extremist Bengali terrorists in Rakhine State,” a statement posted on the army chief’s website said.

The Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) is the group whose attacks on police posts triggered an army backlash so brutal that the UN believes it amounts to ethnic cleansing of the Muslim minority.

More than 430,000 Rohingya have fled the region to Bangladesh in under a month.

Some 30,000 Hindus and Buddhists based in the area have also been displaced, with some saying were terrorised by Rohingya militants.

The army said that security officers found 20 dead women and eight men in the graves, including six boys under the age of ten.

Myanmar government spokesman Zaw Htay confirmed the discovery of the 28 bodies on Sunday.

A senior police officer in northern Rakhine told AFP they had been “buried with 10-15 bodies in each hole.”

Hindus from the area have told AFP that militants swept into their villages on August 25, attacking people who stood in their way, killing many and taking others away into the forest.

New York: Muslim testifies he was trained in Pakistan to use weapons for attack in U.S.

Source: Queens man testifies that terrorist trained him to use weapons – NY Daily News

A would-be subway bomber from Queens told jurors Tuesday that a person linked to the alleged Al Qaeda member standing trial taught him how to use weapons.

Zarein Ahmedzay testified in Muhanad Mahmoud Al Farekh’s trial that a man called “Yousef” taught him and two friends, also from Queens, how to shoot pistols, AK-47s and machine guns, as well as how to toss hand grenades in Pakistan’s treacherous tribal region.

Yousef has previously been identified in the trial as Ferid Imam, who traveled with Al Farekh from Canada to Pakistan in 2007. According to Brooklyn federal prosecutors, Al Farekh, an American citizen, was involved in a 2009 truck bomb attack on a U.S. military base. They said Al Farekh also helped with money collection for the terrorist organization.

Ahmedzay, 32, took the stand under a cooperation deal he’s struck with the feds. It’s the third time he’s testified for prosecutors since admitting he was plotting a deadly attack on the city’s subway system.

Earlier this week, jurors heard a taped deposition from Al Qaeda operative Sufwan Murad, who said Al Farekh was in the terror group’s external operations, but was reclusive and cautious about his moves.

On Tuesday, Ahmedzay said he and jihadi pals Najibullah Zazi and Adis Medunjanin went overseas in 2008 hoping to fight in Afghanistan.

Al Qaeda operatives said they could better serve the cause with attacks back in the United States.

Authorities foiled the attacks.

Ahmedzay could receive a sentence from time served to life behind bars. Al Farekh, 31, faces life in prison if convicted.

The National Anthem

NOTEWhen writing about God and Jesus, The Daily Jot means YHVH as God and Yeshua Ha Mashiach as Jesus--the actual original names and the true nature and character of them.

Tuesday, September 26, 2017
There is a tremendous amount of controversy, derision and division surrounding protests taking place during the National Anthem. From time to time, there have been protests over the years during the National Anthem. None of them have been popular by the majority. Respect is always the overriding issue-the Veterans Administration estimates that some 650,000 of 42 million who served our country have died in battle since the Revolutionary War. They gave their lives that we as citizens can enjoy the benefits of freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution. The National Anthem represents our country, the bravery of the men and women who have fought for it, and God's miraculous hand on America.

When people protest during the National Anthem, their message appears to be that something is drastically wrong with our country. They are using the National Anthem to draw attention to what they believe is wrong. To many, there can be nothing so wrong with our country that a time of solemn reverence for those who bravely defended our nation and the many blessings of God upon this country should be interrupted. Many believe there can be no logical connection between what is being protested and honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. The question often is asked, 'Under what dire circumstances is it appropriate to interrupt such a solemn moment to protest?"

Others say that it doesn't matter because of freedom of speech-that those who sacrificed their lives for our country did so to preserve the very essence of the First Amendment. Certainly, the avenue of protest should always be open. That's one of the ways that we draw attention to wrongs committed in a free society. It's what leads to the preservation of equal rights under the law. The current protests during the National Anthem have gone beyond protesting a "wrong" in our society by becoming a politically charged, party line battle, and the issue that started it is seemingly lost in the rhetoric. The effect has been to divide, arouse anger, name calling, and, as often is the case, alternative agendas.

Here are some observations: Logic, facts, and the venue need to make sense when deciding where, what and how to protest. For love of God and country, and out of respect for those who sacrificed that I may enjoy the benefits of our freedom, I want these protests to end. Also the very true story should be told as to how the protesters are working with law enforcement in their communities to actually solve the problems they are protesting. Leaders in times like these should be statesmen and try to solve issues rather than inflame them. I'm reminded of Jesus' words in Matthew 5:9, "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called children of God." The argument over the National Anthem's use as a protest venue will never end. Agree or disagree, we need to come together and heal as one nation under God.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
