It Begins: Feds Demand Facebook Hand Over Info on Political Activists

Through a trio of search warrants, the Department of Justice (DOJ) is demanding Facebook hand over the personal information of potentially 6,000 of its users, it was revealed Thursday.

According to CNN, which obtained court documents pertaining to the case, the DoJ warrants target the accounts of three “anti-administration activists who have spoken out at organized events, and who are generally very critical of this administration’s policies.”

That description comes from the three users’ attorneys, CNN reports. It all stems from arrests made in Washington, D.C. on the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration back in January, following what the government claims were riots.

The warrants were served to Facebook in February, but a gag order prevented the social media giant from alerting the three users to the government’s intentions until the order was lifted in mid-September.

Once alerted, the users contacted the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which now represents them.

“What is particularly chilling about these warrants is that anti-administration political activists are going to have their political associations and views scrutinized by the very administration they are protesting,” the ACLU’s Scott Michelman told CNN.

One of the warrants is for Emmelia Talarico, who ran the disruptj20 page where much of the anti-Trump protesting was organized. The other two are for Facebook users Lacy MacAuley and Legba Carrefour.

If Facebook complies with the DoJ’s request, it will mean the federal government will have access to the personal data — including private messages — of the nearly 6,000 users who simply “liked” the disruptj20 page.

In the ACLU’s motion to quash the warrants, filed with the D.C. Superior Court on Thursday, Michelman notes the type of data the government is seeking to obtain. From one of the warrants:

All profile information; News Feed information; status updates; links to videos, photographs, or other web content; Notes; Wall postings; Comments; Friend lists, including the friends’ Facebook user ID numbers; goups and networks joined by the Account, including the Facebook group ID numbers; event postings; and pending and rejected ‘Friend’ requests.

He sums it all up as such:

In short, the warrants sought a complete record of anything the three users communicated or received from a third party via Facebook, everyone with whom the users associated via Facebook, and everything the users searched for on Facebook, during the specified time period.

That time period is from November of 2016, just before the presidential election, and February 9 of this year, when the warrants were served to Facebook.

In addition to what the ACLU sees as a clear violation of their clients’ First Amendment protections, Michelman warns in the motion of the precedent that would be set:

Additionally, the enforcement of the warrants would chill future online communications of political activists and anyone who communicates with them, as they will learn from these searches that no Facebook privacy setting can protect them from government snooping on political and personal materials far removed from any proper law enforcement interest.

The ACLU also argues that there are no safeguards in the warrants to protect the privacy of those who ultimately had nothing to do with those “riots” back in January. They assert that the DoJ’s action violates Fourth Amendment protections against illegal search and seizure.

Facebook has yet to say whether it will comply with the government’s order, and the DoJ, as CNN writes, “is not commenting on these search warrants. Kaepernick Donated $25k to Group Honoring Convicted Cop Killer

Colin Kaepernick’s $25,000 donation to a charitable group honoring a convicted cop killer has been revealed.

Kaepernick’s foundation made the donation to Chicago-based Assata’s Daughter’s, named after former Black Liberation Army member Assata Shakur, in April as part of a $1million charitable pledge.

Shakur was convicted of first-degree murder in the 1973 shooting death of New Jersey state trooper Werner Foerster and sentenced to life in prison, but staged a daring jailbreak and now lives as a fugitive in Cuba.

Kaepernick, who is well known for his protests against police during the national anthem as a former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, made the donation as part of his pledge to donate $100,000 a month for 10 months to ‘organizations working in oppressed communities’. Steelers Player Announces Plan for National Anthem at Next Game

(To Late the deed is done and now it has become a race issue!!!! Sorry doesn't cut it and if you stand and lock arms it is the same thing as taking knee you are still supporting this race baiting and dishonoring are people our country the very principles the flag and the National anthem for and all who protected those principles! SORRY DOESN'T CUT YOU HAVE OFFENDED THE AMERICAN PEOPLE! )

Principles for a FREE SOCIETY

Three days after the Pittsburgh Steelers unintentionally entangled themselves in the ongoing national anthem controversy by remaining in the stadium tunnel during the anthem at a game in Chicago, center Maurkice Pouncey announced the team intends to “make it right” next time.

“I promise you one thing this week: We’ll all be standing out there for the national anthem,” he said after practice Wednesday. “Trust me. We respect our flag and we respect the military.”

Regarding what happened Sunday, he claimed it was just a “big misunderstanding.”

“Trust me, I’m very sorry to anyone who feels the way they do,” he said. “I care about the flag dearly. Trust me, this team will be out there standing Sunday.”

The team’s decision Sunday to remain in the tunnel came in response to an ongoing controversy surrounding statements made by President Donald Trump at a rally in Alabama last Friday.

“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects the flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a b—h off the field right now. Out. He’s fired. He’s fired!’” Trump had said, referencing protests by certain NFL players upset by what they perceive to be racial injustice in America’s criminal justice system.

This remark wound up triggering widespread backlash, with numerous players and team owners across the NFL mounting a joint effort to rebuke the president by joining the protests against the national anthem.

In a bid to avoid becoming involved in this controversy, all members of the Pittsburgh Steelers except one decided to skip taking part in the anthem ceremony Sunday. Only offensive tackle Alejandro Villanueva, a former Army Ranger, appeared on the field.

Villanueva later apologized for taking a lone stand, expressing remorse for having thrown his teammates “under the bus.”

Likewise, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger released his own statement expressing regret over what happened.

“The idea was to be unified as a team when so much attention is paid to things dividing our country, but I wish we approached it differently,” he said. “We did not want to appear divided on the sideline with some standing and some kneeling or sitting.”

In his own statement Wednesday, Pouncey made it clear that when his team stands up for the national anthem at its next game, he expects “100 percent participation” from all players. Arrest Video Shows NFL’s Michael Bennett Lied

New video evidence appears to suggest that Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett lied about why police officers took him down in Las Vegas in late August.

Bennett claimed that he was the victim of racial profiling when police officers detained him outside the Cromwell Hotel following the Mayweather vs. McGregor fight as they were searching for a possible active shooter.

TMZ previously reported that everyone in the club was told by the police to get down and not move, at which point Bennett reportedly took off running.

During the incident Bennett screamed, “I wasn’t doing nothing man! I was here with my friends! They told us to get out, everybody ran!”

Bennett also claimed that one of the police officers threated to “blow my f**king head off,” of which there is no proof.

Here is the video of Las Vegas Officer explaining their actions to Bennett and he indicates that he understands.

Las Vegas sheriff Joseph Lombardo explains that officers did what they were supposed to do in stopping Michael Bennett and applauds them for the job they did.  You can watch his comments below.

As we reported earlier this month, there were hundreds of videos depicting this situation and if something was done to Bennett that was outside department policy, it would be clear.  We know know that almost 1000 videos were reviewed and the claims by Bennett are false.

Keep in mind that the NFL Commissioner, Pete Carroll, and multiple NFL Players defended Bennett.  It is now a proven lie.

What will they do now?

Will the NFL issue an apology?  Will the NFL investigate Bennett for lying? Will Pete Carroll say that he was wrong?

Accusing anyone, including law enforcement of racism is very serious and it should be just as serious to lie about it.

We wait and see of the NFL will hold Michael Bennett accountable for his actions and his lies.

It’s all about the ‘privilege’, apparently.

White Privilege.

Is there any other kind in the minds of the Leftists in 2017?

Are these people high?

In an article on the Huffington Post, seemingly white author, Jesse Benn, says any white player still standing for the anthem are standing for ‘white supremacy’.

[Editor’s Note: I say ‘seemingly white’ because you just never know these days. Appearance isn’t always an accurate indication of ethnicity.]

But to Benn, it’s all about the whiteness.

The absence of white athletes kneeling for the anthem Sunday was a particularly illustrative moment in white privilege.

See, for white athletes the anthem and American flag do represent freedom, liberty and whatever other amorphous American values one might ascribe these symbols. So, from their view, kneeling would be disrespectful to the privileges a white supremacist nation affords them.

We’ve all heard the typical argument against kneeling. “Kneeling during the anthem disrespects the flag and the soldiers who fought for your right to protest and blah blah blah patriotism!”

So, America is bad to black people?

After we literally fought a war with our fellow countrymen to end slavery?

And soundly rejected (well, except for Democrats,) segregation and racist Jim Crow laws?

This is a country where a black Minister, decades after his death, is still hailed as a hero by Americans of every color for his Civil Rights Activism.

This is a country that recently elected a black man for president twice.

We have moved forward with equality.

And to say that we haven’t is disingenuous.

This is a country that has people of all color represented in every area of success, including the most visible forms — athletics, music, politics, and Hollywood.

Are there still problems? Sure. Show me one place in the world that doesn’t have problems.

America is still a beacon of light to the world when it comes to freedom for all.

If this country is so very ‘institutionally racist’, then which country should we emulate, hmmm?

South Africa? Apartheid.

Sudan? Ethnoreligious conflict.

Syria? Oppression.

Germany? Open Borders has shifted the culture and rape is an epidemic.

The United Kingdom? Same as Germany, but with more frequent terror attacks.

Canada? They have Islamic ‘blasphemy’ laws and tamp down Free Speech. They also have their own linguistic divide between French and English — with one province threatening to separate every once in a while.

See, they’ve all got their own problems.

But we’ve largely solved ours here.

Benn goes on to give his reasons why it’s all about the ‘whiteness’:

This isn’t a matter of opinion. Statistics reveal disparities along racial lines regarding wealth, education, healthy food, employment, health care, housing, wages, criminal charges/sentences and practically every other imaginable measure of quality of life. This isn’t a mistake of history or attributable to individual or cultural traits of the oppressed. These are the results of centuries of systemic white supremacy, plain and simple.

Anyone who professes to care about America’s alleged values should be fighting to extend them to those they’re deprived. If they aren’t full of shit, that is.

It’s not about choices, or not taking opportunities available?

It’s not about the cultural divide — or the systematic destruction of the black family from within?

It’s not about absentee fathers or the rising instances of ‘Baby Mammas’?

It’s not about the Democrat policies that govern the inner cities that keep people dependent on government instead of self-reliant?

It’s not about hiring teachers for the color of their skin rather than their ability to read?

It has nothing to do with schools lowering the standards of education — the ticket out of poverty for many — to appeal to ‘identity politics’?

It’s not about the glorification of hip-hop gangster culture and tied directly to the aforementioned absentee fathers?

Really, it’s not about any of that?

Then why do so many rise above it and achieve success?

It’s about a system based on ‘white supremacy’ says Benn.

And if you disagree, you’re probably racist, too.

Understand this. White supremacy — as in the structures of opportunity, the legacy of/ongoing oppression of non-whites, and the asymmetrical hoarding of resources by whites — is what affords us the privileges that limit our view, making a peaceful act of protest seem offensive in spite of the broader context of what’s being protested. And the ignorant result of that privilege was on full display Sunday as white players stood next to their black teammates.

The Anti-Israel BDS Movement: Misguided
and Misinformed
H41uLinO93NWUIc1JlFxy5b-qT_x9yKoI4N-nKrSp9loolhWWFa6GvDkxABk1n-07MhX_HQlzhp0N9ifRXh6wxvo8mUoioeJoL-KbZh1E2frTD48I-7sRh_PjF1VSS0=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?width=750by Caroline Camden Lewis:  In addition to “Fossil Fuel Divestment” and other college campuses protests, comes yet another misguided movement. The Boycott, Divest, Sanction movement (BDS) seeks to delegitimize Israel’s existence and calls for economic, academic, political and cultural punishment of the country based upon a false narrative of human rights abuses.

The BDS movement relies on several incorrect statements. First, they claim that “Israel is occupying and colonizing Palestinian land.” Here are the facts. According to the Jewish Virtual Library, the Romans gave the name “Palestine” to the region inhabited by Jewish people in the second century A.D. In 1922, the League of Nations agreed upon the Palestine Mandate in recognition of “the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine.” In fact, the Jerusalem Post began as the Palestine Post, and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra began as the Palestine Symphony Orchestra. After Israel’s independence in 1948, Arabs living in the Gaza Strip or West Bank began referring to themselves as “Palestinian.
A Jewish presence has existed in the land of Israel for over 3,000 years despite wars and attempts to scatter the Jewish people to other places. During the late 19th and 20th centuries, Jews sought to return to Israel legally, purchase the land and restore it through their own efforts. At the time, the land that later became Israel languished as swamp land and sand dunes. Yet the returning Zionists purchased the land anyway and planted eucalyptus trees that drained the muddy waters, reduced mosquitos and combatted malaria. Note that these Zionists purchased the land with their own funds and restored the land with their own efforts. They have also fought and won several wars defending their land and sovereignty.
The BDS movement also claims that Israel is “discriminating against Palestinian citizens of Israel” and that the BDS movement is “inspired by the South African anti-apartheid movement.” This statement misunderstands South Africa’s apartheid conflict, which legally separated blacks and whites, placing whites in authority over the minority black population. It also forced political, social and economic segregation that prevented black people from voting, participating in government activities, and socializing with whites.
In contrast, Israel’s legal system gives equal rights and equal protection to all of its citizens, whether Arab (i.e. Palestinian) or Jew. Mitchell G. Bard, author of Myths and Facts: A Guide to the Arab-Israeli Conflict, notes, “Israel is one of the few places in the Middle East where Arab women may vote.” In addition, Israel’s two official languages are Hebrew and Arabic and Israel has several Arab political parties.
Further, Israel has never formally annexed the West Bank or Gaza and many of the Palestinians who live there are not Israeli citizens, but rather are subject to their own terrorist governing bodies (Hamas in Gaza and Palestinian Authority in the West Bank).
In terms of international law and human rights violations, the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, which controls the Gaza strip, has routinely launched rockets from schools, mosques and other civilian centers. Hamas terrorists hide in civilian crowds endangering both Palestinians and Israelis. Deliberately endangering civilians is a violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention (article 28). Moreover, according to a 2015 report by Amnesty International — exactly a conservative or pro-Israel organization — their actions have repeatedly qualified as war crimes under international law.
Using rhetoric of “social justice” and “human rights abuses,” BDS convinces misguided and misinformed students, business leaders, academicians and others to support their cause. Conveniently ignoring the legitimacy of Israel’s claim to the land, their legal system that promotes basic human rights, and the war crimes committed by Palestinian terrorists such as Hamas, BDS hopes to demonize, delegitimize and inflict double standards on the state of Israel while failing to provide realistic or sustainable solutions to the conflict.  ~The Patriot Post

THE WRONG LESSONS OF NAZISM
by Burt Prelutsky

Perhaps it’s because Europe has totally given up on Christianity that it has fallen on such hard times over the past few decades. One sure sign was that the College of Cardinals felt the need to look outside the continent to dredge up their latest Pope, Francis, a left-wing activist from Argentina.

A second sign was that they swung open Europe’s doors to Muslims, who, while fleeing from war zones, managed to bring the worst of the violence with them. Of course, that was merely step two in the Islamization of the continent. Step one had taken place years earlier when Europe decided what they really lacked was a steady source of cheap labor. They imported a large number of Muslims, who, in turn, gave birth to a great many additional Muslims, who, like their parents, despised the European infidels, but preferred welfare to working.

Here in America, those who longed for a return to slavery settled for the second-best thing: borders open to a flood of low-skilled illiterates, willing to undercut the wages of our own native-born peons.

We were just luckier than the Europeans. The Hispanics who illegally invaded the U.S. haven’t, at least for the most part, wanted to kill their hosts.

With the creation of the European Union, the member nations were moved to surrender their sovereignty to a bunch of bureaucratic tyrants in Brussels because they feared it was the only way to avoid the outbreak of another war caused by the inevitable invasion of one country France, for instance by another Germany, for instance.

Inasmuch as we decided to chain ourselves to the defense of our NATO allies, you might be interested in knowing that the five largest militaries in the world are China (2.3 million), the U.S. (1.5 million), India (1.3 million), North Korea (1.2 million) and Russia (845,000).

In rounding out the top 10 Pakistan, South Korea, Iran, Turkey and Vietnam, the numbers range from 482,000 to 643,000.

You must scroll all the way down to 24th place to find France (222,000) and 28th to discover Germany (186,000).

Now I’m not saying that numbers are the only things that matter or are even a fair measure of a military’s ability to wage war, but I think in this case it’s a pretty good indication that Europe, the fat socialist whore she has become, is relying almost entirely on America’s ability to defend it if Vladimir Putin decides to expand Russia’s borders westward.

The worst of the worst has been Chancellor Angela Merkel, who apparently thought that harboring a million Muslims in Germany would erase the stain of genocide. Unfortunately, as everyone except, perhaps, Mrs. Merkel, knows, the road to Hell is paved with good intentions. As anyone with half a brain could have told her, you don’t make amends for slaughtering six million Jews by allowing a million latter-day Nazis hold your nation hostage to their vile religion.

● Many of the same people who hold Mrs. Merkel in high regard, and would like to see her rewarded for destroying her nation with a Nobel Peace Prize, are the same jackasses who are convinced that Donald Trump is the worst president we’ve ever had, and hailed Barack liar-nObama as the greatest.

In their unhinged desire to tar Trump in the harshest terms they can imagine, they ignore the fact that he’s married to a foreigner in order to call him xenophobic, and label him a religious bigot despite the fact that his son-in-law is Jewish and that his daughter is a convert to her husband’s religion.

● While on the subject of people slandering the President, the NFL’s commissioner, Roger Goodell, called out Trump for disrespecting the National Football League. Oh, heaven forbid that anyone should utter an unflattering word about a sport in which a growing number of participants exhibit their disrespect make that contempt every Sunday by taking a knee at the playing of the National Anthem.

When Trump suggested that the NFL owners consider firing the 300-pound ingrates, he was speaking for a lot of us. And if Goodell weren’t in the pocket of the Players Union, he would have long ago suggested that the NFL contracts include morality clauses, the way that Hollywood studio contracts used to. That would give team owners the right to can any player arrested for drug use, rape or domestic violence, or for doing anything, such as kneeling for the Anthem, that reflected badly on the team and the league. Of course, even eliminating those guilty of felonies would pretty much decimate the teams.

It’s bad enough when the thugs and hooligans in Black Lives Matter behave like jerks, but when it’s a bunch of pampered millionaires who are letting us know that they regard themselves as victims of white racism, it’s really too big a pill to swallow. And it shouldn’t come as a surprise to Goodell or the team owners that an awful lot of people are finding it easier than they imagined to find something better to do on Sunday besides watching a couple of tons of flesh shoving each other around a football field.

● It’s no surprise that the Climate Change hoaxsters have taken advantage of the recent hurricanes to claim the disasters were inevitable, considering what man is doing to destroy the planet.

But something I heard during a report on Hurricane Maria should not be ignored.  The fellow at Weather Central reported that Maria was the strongest hurricane to hit Puerto Rico in over 80 years. That means that in the mid-1930s, which was not merely long before the United States, Russia, China and India, were the industrial giants they are today, but in the midst of the Great Depression that had shut down most of the world’s industrial plants, we had experienced an even worse hurricane.

So, perhaps it’s just possible that sometimes Mother Nature just gets in a lousy mood and decides to let off a little steam, and it’s got nothing to do with a coal plant.

● Something that has troubled me for some time is that socialists and their fellow travelers keep popping up in the strangest places. I mean, in my own extended family, it made a certain amount of sense that my immigrant relatives who worked in the garment industry, alternately sweating or freezing while they sewed for pennies-an-hour in unheated and non-air-conditioned lofts, would be soft targets for the leftwing union organizers.

But I had an equal number of relatives who had made their fortune on Chicago's black market during WWII, and they would drive me nuts raving about the glory of Stalin’s Soviet Union.

Even when I would point out that Stalin would happily have them lined up against a wall and shot because of their black-market activities, not to mention their being absentee landlords and Jewish, they would go on singing the praises of the Worker’s Paradise.

Today, I see something similar taking place with the millionaires and billionaires of Hollywood and the Silicon Valley, all of them promoting left-wing policies they couldn’t conceivably imagine to be in their best interests.

When you see so many people pretending to be something they couldn’t possibly be, there is only one possible conclusion. When those who have garnered the biggest prizes that capitalism has to offer turn on capitalism, the obvious reason is they believe that mouthing socialistic platitudes garners them something that even their fortunes can’t buy them; namely, a reputation for being selfless and virtuous.

It’s called having your cake, along with everyone else’s, and eating it.

● Bob Marcks showed why he is the pride of Scottsdale, AZ, by sending me the following quote attributed to author-educator Medford Stanton Evans: “We have two parties here, and only two. One is the evil party, and the other is the stupid party. I’m very proud to be a member of the stupid party. Occasionally, the two parties get together to do something that’s both evil and stupid. That’s called bipartisanship.”

The Leftmedia Love Affair With Totalitarianism

But it is precisely those individual rights and freedoms that place limits on officials within government. The Left views such limits to government as socially problematic rather than beneficial. Witness the growing sentiment among college and university students who are actively questioning the value of freedom of speech — not only questioning it, but even calling for it to be prevented, with violence if necessary. For these social “justice” crusaders, individual freedom should always be subservient to collectivist “progressive” values.

It is in such a climate as this that one of the primary Demo/MSM propaganda fronts, The New York Times, is promoting communism (overtly this time), in a series of praise articles including, “When Communism Inspired Americans,” “Why Women Had Better Sex Under Socialism” and “The Little Red Book for Children.” This series, highlighting the “glory days” of communism, omits references to the countless millions of civilian men, women and children who were murdered or starved under these regimes.
The latest entry in this series purports to portray how women fared under Red China’s communist regime, asserting, “The communist revolution taught Chinese women to dream big.” When it was not slaughtering them and their children, that is. It praises China’s former totalitarian strongman Mao Zedong for his efforts in promoting feminism. The author, Helen Gao, is an American of Chinese descent, and she writes glowingly of her grandmother’s opportunity to work as a journalist during the early days of the “People’s” Republic. A brief side note here. To have been a journalist at that time in China, Gao’s grandmother would have been obligated to spout Communist Party propaganda without freedom of the press protections Gao herself enjoys here in the good old U.S.A. But we digress.
Seeking to somehow dispel the obvious objections readers might raise regarding her willingness to praise the vision and efforts of a murderous tyrant responsible for the deaths of 45 million of his own people, Gao quotes her grandmother’s saying, “The communists did many terrible things, but they made women’s lives much better.” There — problem solved. Noting the absurdity, one humorist responded, “NYT next week: For all its flaws, Hitler’s Nazi movement brought healthy vegetarian meal planning to the Reich.” Except, of course, the NYT doesn’t like to highlight that the Nazis were also socialists.
Notably, this latest example of the NYT’s communist dezinformatsiya campaign comes in the midst of nuclear threats from Red China’s nuclear puppet — NoKo’s communist nut Kim Jong-un. Move on, nothing to see here!  ~The Patriot Post

{thenewamerican.com} ~ During an interview with Bloomberg in New York on September 22, Mary Nichols, chairman of the California Air Resources Board (CARB), said that the state’s governor, Jerry Brown... has raised the subject of banning cars with internal combustion engines with her. The idea was inspired by similar bans in China, France, and the United Kingdom. “I’ve gotten messages from the governor asking, ‘Why haven’t we done something already?’” Nichols said, referring to China’s plan to end the use of vehicles powered by fossil fuels by 2030. “The governor has certainly indicated an interest in why China can do this and not California.” Considering Brown’s leftist track record, it is not surprising that he would seek to emulate Communist China. In a July 6 article posted by The New American, Alex Newman provided a recent example of Brown’s propensity to work with China against American interests...  https://www.thenewamerican.com/tech/environment/item/27010-calif-gov-brown-pushing-for-ban-on-cars-with-internal-combustion-engines

by Laura Hollis
{jewishworldreview.com} ~ Not long after the end of World War II, author and economist Friedrich A. Hayek wrote in "The Road to Serfdom" that fascism and communism were really two sides of the same coin.

For this, he was sharply criticized and even mocked. We just teamed up with the communists to beat the fascists, the argument went. True, Stalin (grudgingly) fought alongside the Allies to defeat Hitler. But Hayek warned that this was an anomaly; both ideologies exalted top-down state control and were ultimately antithetical to individual freedom.

It's time to revisit Hayek's warnings.

Arguments about fascism are all the rage at the moment. It's de rigueur for those on the left to accuse President Donald Trump and his supporters of being "fascists." Meanwhile, some of the left's most visible and vocal factions — notably but not exclusively antifa — are accused accurately of behaving like fascists themselves: shutting down speech, vandalizing property, violently beating up people whose views offend them.

Meanwhile, what has slipped under the radar is the increasing advocacy for communism.

Within the past few days, a West Point graduate and current infantry officer named Spenser Rapone made headlines with pro-communist social media posts, including a photo of him holding his military cap with "Communism will win" written on the inside. In another post, he pulls his uniform aside to reveal a T-shirt with the image of communist revolutionary Che Guevara on it.

Lest you dismiss this as the isolated posturing of some fringe goofball, The New York Times has been running a year-long series of articles titled "The Red Century." Using the centennial of the 1917 Russian Revolution as its backdrop, the Times has published nearly three dozen articles on communism and its impact on the 20th century. An astonishing number of these are glowing accounts of the glories of communism.

The New York Times has been a platform for communism's apologists since the days of Walter Duranty. But this is jaw-dropping, even for them.

On Feb. 24, 2017, the article titled, "What's left of communism?" asked in its subhead, "Can a phoenix rise from the ash heap of history?" A better question would be, why on earth would we want it to?

Subsequent pieces praise Lenin as an unparalleled "strategic genius"; look back nostalgically to a time when communism inspired Americans; paint a hopeful picture of an "American afterlife" for communism; defend collectivists' visions as explained to children in the book "Communism for Kids"; characterize Lenin and the Bolsheviks as "well-intentioned people trying to build a better world"; point out the communist influence on popular science fiction and early environmental activism; and — perhaps most absurdly — extol the virtues of communism for women, both in terms of their sex lives in former Soviet Russia and their "big dreams" in Mao's China.

Seventeenth-century British writer Samuel Johnson once described second marriages as "the triumph of hope over experience." Had he lived during the "Red Century" or thereafter, he might well have used the phrase to describe communists, who are still selling their rotting and putrid wares, despite 100-plus years of bloody experience.

Nearly 100 million people died as a result of communism in the 20th century — more than all those killed by fascism and ordinary homicide combined. As Reason magazine author John Walters noted in a 2013 blog post, the worst famines in the 20th century killing tens of millions all took place in communist countries. As for women, Soviet Russia had the highest abortion rates in the world the average Russian woman had seven abortions in her lifetime. China's one-child policy resulted in millions of abortions often forced, under horrific circumstances and widespread infanticide of unwanted baby girls.

Then there were the gulags, the laogai, the prison camps.

Socialism is little better. Communism's blander cousin, it is founded on similar flawed philosophies that the state should be the provider; that people cannot be left to their own devices to order their lives as they see fit.

And socialism is often a precursor to something worse. Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez initially ran on a socialist platform, and then moved steadily left over the years, demonizing business, nationalizing industries and confiscating private property. He died with Venezuela already on a downward spiral. His successor, Nicolas Maduro — another left-wing ideologue — has destroyed whatever was left of Venezuela. Its citizens are without food, medicines, electricity or fuel. Doctors, teachers and other professionals are forced into prostitution to feed their families. Once wealthy and prosperous, Venezuela has been every bit as badly ravaged by communism as the neighboring Caribbean nations were by hurricanes Irma and Maria. Communism is one of the world's most destructive forces.

I'll say this much for the Times' "Red Century" series: It makes clear that the communists are still with us, using every leftist cause as a crowbar to push the country toward their dystopic vision. Those of us who oppose collectivism are right to be concerned when the same people clamoring for socialized medicine are trying to resurrect and rehabilitate communism.

Hayek was right. And the battle lines are being drawn.

Constitutional Perspective for Taxes
97q3LsmdWijf2GYI6sEjp0Pjmy4a5BUO2ZH3gv60IVE52oOvoKqRTXUcffk6BBS-pzk1dezvfg2kLNkAgKHN2kd25oOlDfXZzFq75OksVznqrWCOIpoOtP_qUp6Iges=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?width=500by Louis DeBroux:  With Republicans set to announce a tax cut blueprint later today, it provide an opportunity to look at tax reform in a way that far too few politicians, of either party, take time to consider. Yet it would be immensely beneficial to working Americans.

Based on the rumors flowing out of DC in recent weeks, the arguments are the same as they have been for decades. How big will the tax cuts be? Who benefits? Who loses? How will we pay for it? That last one is especially rich coming from the likes of Democrat Rep. Scott Peters (D-CA), who lectured, “It’s time to stop pretending that tax cuts for the wealthy somehow pay for themselves. Tax reform needs to be paid for.” Discerning minds might contemplate the absence of concern from Peters and his fellow Democrats when they were racking up $10 trillion in new debt during the liar-nObama years.
There is also the implied premise in Peters’ question of how tax cuts will be “paid for.” To claim a tax cut is a “cost” that must be paid for, one must believe that all earnings rightfully belong to the government, rather than to the individual who earned that money.
Yet while we debate these political questions, or the relative wisdom of the economic philosophies of Milton Friedman versus Paul Krugman, none of these address the issue from a constitutional perspective. What is the purpose of taxes, and on what may they be legitimately spent? Those two questions are intimately entwined.
The purpose of taxes is to fund the legitimate functions of government, but how do we determine what is legitimate? Luckily, the Founders clearly defined those legitimate functions in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution, and in Amendments IX and X declared that all powers not specifically granted in A1S8 to be reserved to the states, or to the people. With the Constitution as our standard, it becomes clear that an enormous portion of federal spending — from Medicare, Medicaid, liar-nObamaCare, corporate welfare, the arts, etc. — are not justified.
But, you say, these things are for the “general welfare,” referenced right there in the Constitution. James Madison, the Father of the Constitution, rebuked this erroneous idea just five years after the ratification of the Constitution. In a letter to Edmund Pendleton, Madison wrote, “If Congress can do whatever in their discretion can be done by money, and will promote the General Welfare, the Government is no longer a limited one, possessing enumerated powers, but an indefinite one, subject to particular exceptions.” This same refutation of an expansionist view of the General Welfare clause was likewise refuted by Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton and Noah Webster.
The 16th Amendment, which allowed government to levy an income tax, was passed using class warfare as a catalyst. Americans were promised that only the uber-wealthy would be hit by the tax, and only on a small percentage of their income. Today, nearly every American who works is subject to the tax, and has to hire an expert to navigate a tax code that clocks in at five times the length of the King James Bible. Does that sound like how free men are treated, or subjects? The passage of the 17th Amendment essentially eliminated representation for the states in Congress, and the size of the federal government has exploded as a result.
More than half a century ago, former IRS Commissioner T. Coleman Andrews warned of the perniciousness and insidiousness of the income tax — how it is a tenet of Marxism, and strips us of our God-given, constitutionally protected rights. He cautioned, “The income tax is bad because it has robbed you and me of the guarantee of privacy and the respect for our property that were given to us in Article IV of the Bill of Rights. This invasion is absolute and complete as far as the amount of tax that can be assessed is concerned. Please remember that under the Sixteenth Amendment, Congress can take 100% of our income anytime it wants to.
If we were operating under the vision of the Founders, we would identify the legitimate functions of government, define a budget required to carry out those functions, and tax accordingly. Instead, the income tax has become a tool of power distribution and social engineering.
And yet we must start somewhere, and the Republican plan to reduce the tax burden of the average American is as good a starting point as any. The current bill proposes to cut $1.5 trillion in taxes over the course of the next decade, offsetting the “cost” of the tax cut with anticipated higher tax revenues as the economy expands.
However, tax cuts in and of themselves will not solve America’s fiscal woes, because the problem driving our national debt is not lack of revenue, but excessive spending. Government spending, which was already gargantuan prior to Barack liar-nObama taking office, metastasized under liar-nObama, who vastly increased spending with the “stimulus” bill and then used those numbers as the new budget baseline. That is how we got to $20 trillion in debt from $10 trillion just 10 years ago.
The U.S. has the highest statutory corporate tax rate in the industrialized world, though favored corporations pay far less, and the individual income tax is a drain on family finances, leaving millions struggling just to make ends meet. Thus we have a system in which the likes of GE pays little or nothing, while the struggling small business owner pays 39% — the highest individual rate.
A reduction in tax rates — both corporate and personal income — would be a huge boost to American workers and families. With pressure put on Democrat senators in states won by Donald Trump, tax reform is indeed possible, and would be a much needed win for a Republican Party that controls all levers of government and yet seems incapable of implementing its agenda.
While eliminating the income tax is too much to hope for at this point, reduced rates and simplification of the tax code would bring welcome relief and stimulate the economy. The time is now.  ~The Patriot Post

Rooted in what it calls “the context of the abolitionist struggle against slavery” ― and “dedicated to freeing people from bondage and building resistance in the United States” ― RAM contends not only that America was “built on slavery and genocide,” but also that “modern slavery and mass brutality” against black people “persist unchecked” to this day. Because “the Civil War was never resolved,” RAM elaborates, “the system of slavery transitioned into the prison industrial complex” where blacks are inarcerated in disproportionately high numbers. On the premise that the United States government has conspired “with white supremacist organizations” to “ensure that the relations of slavery [remain] entrenched in U.S. political, social, and economic life,” RAM claims that “the slave ships” of yesteryear have been replaced by the “correctional buses” that transport African Americans en masse to prison cells across the country; that “the slave auction blocks [of the 1800s are now the courtrooms” in American cities; and that black people today “are indelibly marked with prison numbers that remain etched on their records till they die.”...This RAM minds are really twisted.  http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/267963/another-left-wing-fascist-movement-rise-discover-networks

How ignoramuses
'taking a knee' endanger America

by ERIK RUSH
{wnd.com} ~ It would be one thing if institutional racism were still prevalent in the U.S., or if we did have a problem with out-of-control, bigoted police officers using lethal force against an inordinately large percentage of black people. None of this is true, however, as the empirical evidence and law enforcement statistics indicate, respectively.

The astroturf movement wherein increasing numbers of National Football League players, entertainers, sundry opportunists and morons are “taking a knee” publicly to protest institutional racism and police brutality against blacks is in part a distraction to divert the public’s attention from important matters, in part the establishment press and the political left capitalizing on one witless athlete’s campaign of personal aggrandizement to advance ethnic division and, as I said last week, cultural Balkanization amongst Americans in general. Tangentially, it has also become a furtive attempt to undermine the presidency of Donald Trump as the political left strives to characterize him as a racist.

While some NFL teams have come out of late in supporting their players’ right to expression while questioning the appropriateness of protesting in this manner, they and others continue to cite the players’ constitutional right to do so. In truth, the Constitution makes no provision whatever for protecting individuals’ speech or expression, only that Congress ̶ and by extension, federal, state and local governments – have no right to suppress individuals’ speech or expression.

One of the key points I made in my book, “Negrophilia: From Slave Block to Pedestal – America’s Racial Obsession,” was that advancing the notion that America remains an institutionally racist nation is a political and financial imperative for the political left and career civil rights activists. If they are able to establish the convention that America remains an institutionally racist nation, white supremacists abound, and that every instance of police using lethal force against a black individual is murder, then they will have executed a cultural coup, as it were, and will be well on their way toward realizing the kind of division that could substantially coalesce their political power and make them wealthy or wealthier, as the case may be in the process.

Those on the political left are already aware that most Americans do not believe we remain an institutionally racist nation, but as we know, the truth holds little significance for leftists. This is why million of Americans literally believe that Michael Brown was murdered by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, in August 2014 as he stood with his arms above his head pleading “Don’t shoot!” despite there being every indication that Brown intended to murder that police officer, and why the same contingent believes that Trayvon Martin was murdered in February 2012 by a white police officer rather than having been killed in self-defense by a Latino civilian.

Enrolling shortsighted and craven corporate participants such as the NFL and the management of individual teams, entertainers who in their ignorance and narcissism eagerly get on board with every ostensibly altruistic stealth socialist cause and black athletes who, given the political indoctrination blacks have undergone in this country, somnambulistically get on board with anything they’re told is an important civil rights issue is simply a strategy, and they’re executing it fairly well.

Add to this the very real fear on the part of the left that it is losing the battle for hearts and minds, and the use of this methodology should come as no surprise.

So, now we are seeing many on the periphery of this issue who, in their ignorance, are “taking a knee” in solidarity with the NFL’s Kaepernick. They believe that they are protesting racism in the abstract and who could object to that, right? rather than playing into the hands of organized radical groups dedicated to fomenting racial tension and neutralizing the effectiveness of law enforcement. Here, it does bear mentioning that this strategy truly came into its own during the administration of Barack liar-nObama, our first post-racial president, who dedicatedly empowered such groups through his rhetoric and policies.

As with all social malaise the left claims to wish to mitigate, it deliberately exacerbates the problem at hand whilst casting all blame toward its political opponents. Thus, those who perceive an oppression of blacks ought to look to entrenched leftists as the root of said oppression, because they are the one and only reason some blacks remain politically and economically disenfranchised. Unfortunately, due to the idealism and ignorance of many participating in this movement and the power of the ideologically driven establishment press, this is not likely to happen. Blacks in particular have been conditioned to summarily trust the words and the intentions of other blacks in such instances just because they’re black; this is why so many self-aggrandizing black people have been able to enrich themselves as they pay fealty to the left and aid in advancing its agenda.

While the “taking a knee” phenomenon as a distraction may engender a dismissive attitude on the part of many, its potential for giving rise to dangerous levels of division, resentment, anger and ultimately widespread social unrest is a cause for grave concern. Many of the “useful idiots” participating in this sham are and will remain unaware of its peril and the true motives of those driving this train until it is too late to check its momentum.

ISIS releases alleged al-Baghdadi tape, as shadowy leader appears to again escape death

{foxnews.com} ~ A cryptic new audio message purported to be from Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi appears to prove the shadowy ISIS strongman has cheated death yet again... despite Moscow's claims he was killed in battle. The 46-minute recording, released by Al-Furqan news organization, was the first time the world has heard from the jihadist leader since November 2016, when the last speech was released. It’s unclear when the recording was created. Baghdadi referenced North Korean threats made toward the United States and Japan, Reuters reported. DHS Was Wrong About Russians Targeting

The DHS notified 21 states including California and Wisconsin that Russian-linked individuals had tried to target either voter registration files or public election sites. The DHS is now claiming that these hackers targeted the California Department of Technology and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. “The work of our intelligence agencies is critical in defending against cyber threats. I remain committed to a partnership with DHS and other intelligence agencies, however, elections officials and the American public expect and deserve timely and accurate information,” California Secretary of State Alex Padilla said in a statement Wednesday...  http://dailycaller.com/2017/09/28/dhs-was-wrong-about-russians-targeting-at-least-two-states-election-systems/?utm_medium=email

MSM Fumbles Ball on Villanueva and Anthem

by Mark Alexander:  There is a lot of grossly misleading commentary being circulated by the mainstream media about Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Alejandro Villanueva, after he stood in honor of our national anthem Sunday. He is now being accused of “apologizing for honoring the anthem,” but he made no such apology.

As noted in his press conference, Villanueva regretted that the photos of him standing alone implied that none of the other Steelers would have stood with him honoring the anthem: “Very few players knew that I was going to the tunnel because I only asked the team leadership. And because of that I did not give them an opportunity to stand with me during the national anthem. That is the very embarrassing part of my end in what transpired, because when everybody sees an image of me standing by myself, everybody thinks that the team, the Steelers, are not behind me, and that’s absolutely wrong. It’s quite the opposite. Actually, the entire team would’ve been out there with me, even the ones that wanted to take a knee.” For the record, here are Villanueva’s remarks in context: VIDEO:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJubf3o_YCo
Saturday night, as you guys all know, there was a team meeting that was going to determine what … to do as a team. Coach [Mike] Tomlin gave us the guidance that we had to do it all as one, so 100 percent, whatever … we [decided] to do. There was a disagreement in what we were going to do. And the only course of action was to go inside and remove ourselves from the situation. It was never to disrespect the national anthem. Every single one of my teammates is extremely supportive and extremely patriotic in this locker room. And I can not only say that for this locker room, I can say that across the NFL and every single player that I’ve gone against.
After the meeting … based on my unique circumstances and based on the fact that I’ve served in the Army … I asked [teammate and quarterback] Ben [Roethlisberger] if there was a way to define ‘the inside’ … and if I could watch the national anthem from the tunnel, and he agreed. He said the captains will be out there right behind me, so this plan sort of morphed to accommodate this tough, moral dilemma that I had in my hands to where the players can be behind me in the tunnel.
Ben Roethlisberger said at [12:]56 make sure you’re out there because the national anthem is going to start at 57. I walked out at 12:56. I asked one of the security guards when the national anthem was going to start and he said 20 seconds. And so I just walked out and I stopped as soon as I saw the flag, as soon as I had a vantage point. That, to me, was enough. … When I turned around to sort of signal everybody else to come so they wouldn’t leave me alone, that’s when they were essentially unable to exit. At that moment it was the decision of do you walk out of the national anthem and join your teammates? I know that would have looked extremely bad. Or as a team do you start moving halfway through the national anthem? So essentially what we can get out of this is that we butchered our plan to sort of have a response for the national anthem and respect everyone’s opinions.
Villanueva says that his team’s plan was to “remove ourselves from the situation” — a decision that was made in order to avoid offending anyone. In that sense, their motives should be applauded. Villanueva regrets the implication that none of his other teammates supported the anthem. They do and did and would have backed him up. As for Coach Tomlin, perhaps he should have just told his Steelers kneelers to stay off the field for the game too
Predictably, the MSM talkingheads and news headlines have gotten it wrong again, suggesting Villanueva apologized for honoring our national anthem.
In the wake of all the AWOL NFL players last weekend, NFL spokesman Joe Lockhart says, “There will be no discipline handed down this week for anyone who was not there.”
Memo to Joe: According to the NFL’s game operations manual, “The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”  ~The Patriot Post

All-In on Leftism: The NFL
Needs a Wake-Up Call
by Brigitte Gabriel
{townhall.com} ~ The NFL has never proved itself more worthy of a boycott than the actions they enabled last Sunday. The so called #TakeAKnee movement enveloped almost every NFL stadium last Sunday, with knees and protests being met with well-deserved and overwhelming booing by fans.

The NFL, a majority of owners, and sports media has gone all in on radical leftism, and is but another product of the incessant desire for anti-American radicals to infiltrate every aspect of our culture.

Here are some facts that seem to have escaped NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who is proud about the protests he enabled.

These protests were started by former player Colin Kaepernick, a man who wore socks to a team practice depicting police officers as pigs. Did Commissioner Goodell have anything to say about this disgusting display of hatred towards our first responders? No, he didn't have the courage then, and he doesn't have it now.
Kaepernick also wore a t-shirt celebrating Cuban dictator Fidel Castro to an NFL media interview, a menace who killed and ruthlessly tortured his people for decades. Any discipline for Kaepernick's celebration of a mass murdering dictator? Nothing.

The NFL prevented the Dallas Cowboys from paying tribute five Dallas Police officers, who were murdered at a Black Lives Matter protest in July of 2016. The Cowboys wanted to wear a unifying decal on their helmets that read “Arm in Arm,” until the NFL squashed it.

When a Tennessee player, Avery Williamson, wanted to wear a special pair of cleats to honor 9/11 victims, a league rep threatened to fine him.

Given the NFL's unwillingness to confront these objectively reprehensible actions we witnessed on Sunday, while condemning true acts of unity and honor, it shouldn't surprise anyone for him to have done nothing to prevent teams from kneeling during our National Anthem.

What is surprising and increasingly shameful is the NFL's endorsement of such disrespect, from the failed NFL Commissioner, to the Owners, Coaches, and the players.

Of course, whenever leftists shame our country, military, or first responders, they always do so under the guise of "love" and "equality."

ANTIFA uses violence against those they disagree with out of the same deceitful sloganeering. But the NFL, owners, and players insist that this protest is to combat "police brutality" and "inequality."

First of all, the real problem plaguing this country is lack of respect for our heroes in blue, who put their lives on the line for very little pay, to protect self-entitled, ego inflated millionaires like those who defamed them on Sunday.

Secondly, in what universe does kneeling for the national anthem help combat police brutality or inequality? How does wearing socks depicting the thin blue line as pigs help that cause?

These radicals aren't fooling the fans. Recent polling shows that 64% of the public disagrees with kneeling or boycotting the national anthem, with only 24% supporting it.

The issue however, is that we are still being lectured to and pushed around by the anti-American fringe. The most appalling examples of this stem from the sports media, which rivals the leftist political media in its radicalism.

Shannon Sharpe of Fox Sports 1 is perhaps the most militant example of such radicalism. Unlike most in the media who celebrated the display of disrespect for our anthem, Sharpe was "unimpressed," and wished the players had gone even further.

Sharpe also blasted three-time war tour and former Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva for standing during the anthem, while his Pittsburgh Steeler teammates sat in the locker room like cowards.

Skip Bayless, Sharpe's co-host on Fox Sports’ "Undisputed," shared in the criticism of Villanueva, who has since been forced to apologize for his patriotic actions after shameful media backlash.

On Monday, before being publicly shamed, Villanueva’s jersey was instantly made the most popular sold of any NFL player.

Sharpe also referred to Ivanka Trump as an "animal" on Twitter Monday, continuing his vile hatred for those who do not share in his radical views about our great nation and first responders.

One has to ask the question, "What would happen if Shannon Sharpe was white, and used the exact same language to describe former President liar-nObama's daughter?

The hypocrisy from the NFL, the owners, coaches, players, and sports media is past alarming. We are now in an age where nothing is safe from the leftist anti-American propaganda movement, and we better be prepared to fight back, or continue to see the most unifying aspects of our culture destroyed.

Days after 9/11, a player taking a knee during the anthem to attack our first responders would've been rightly condemned and ostracized. But in the post-liar-nObama presidency, it is not only tolerated, but expected, and if you're a minority like me, it makes you a hero.

Everyone has a right to free speech, but that includes the majority of patriots who resoundingly reject this effort to paint our country with false colors of hatred and oppression.

So, turn off the anti-American propaganda at ESPN and Fox Sports, and spend your money on other things besides merchandise, or tickets to a social justice rally formerly known as a game.

The left understands that boycotts work, and its high time that we, the majority who love America, realize, and act upon that truth ourselves.

MSM Fumbles Ball on Villanueva and Anthem
8vLmZQHfRcnz85eUZyn38p5IP-B5_v4mYhQYpXCCGo-R_-pNZPdWTMLopvZGdRgNbjpDoa9Kk_trWrWZfSMQKXLsntbZ_GCFG-rP4a2wMe60vgLz0csgfvzf0oznxOU=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?width=500by Mark Alexander:  There is a lot of grossly misleading commentary being circulated by the mainstream media about Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Alejandro Villanueva, after he stood in honor of our national anthem Sunday.

The Strange Political Race in Alabama
dyqgSQoZ3RgY5s4O9YXwdut5C-H3COYS9G9wcGPixdX0-5cDumTQVwQ_iwMRWUhAuTYfB-8ezk57S5h6uTpL_3_SjmIg3SJmy9epwQRSn9LhGjauIOBUkDQVq-dnqOw=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?width=500by Lewis Morris:  Former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore sailed to victory last night over incumbent Sen. Luther Strange in Alabama’s special Senate election primary runoff. The race was called shortly after the polls closed, with Moore beating Strange 57% to 43%. Vote counters estimated a low turnout with around 15% of eligible voters coming out for the election. But it’s far more important than that indicates — it’s a marker in estimating President Donald Trump’s hold on the GOP.

Strange was appointed to the Senate seat by former Gov. Robert Bentley in February after Jeff Sessions left it to become attorney general. It was thought at the time that Strange would hold the seat until the next general election in 2020, but politics threw him a curve. Bentley was removed from office after it was discovered he was using state funds to hide an affair. Lt. Gov. Kay Ivey replaced Bentley and called for a special election in December.
Strange, a former state attorney general who’d pushed to suspend impeachment proceedings against Bentley, bore the marks of the latter’s corruption. He soon found himself in a crowded primary battle with eight other Republicans. When no one emerged from the primary with a majority of the vote, the top two finishers, Strange and Moore, squared off.
The primary and the runoff, as with all special elections, was framed by some as a referendum on President Donald Trump, but more so it was one on the “establishment.” Trump was vocal in his support of Strange, and he made an appearance in Alabama on his behalf during the campaign. Vice President Mike Pence also turned out for Strange. Strange, in turn, has been a loyal supporter of Trump in the Senate — a reliable conservative vote.
What may have fatally wounded Strange, however, was that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell also voiced support for him in the runoff and provided $9 million from the Senate Leadership Fund for Strange’s campaign. Moore used this support from the leadership as a means of attacking Strange and linking him to what he called “DC’s slime machine.” It worked.
Moore had some heavy-hitting support of his own during the race. Among those who came out for his campaign were Chuck Norris, Sarah Palin and former Trump adviser Steve Bannon. Bannon’s entry into the fray on behalf of Moore suggested that this race was going to be a proxy fight between competing visions of the GOP’s future. Just who represented what was grounds for widespread speculation, and the Trump haters (who hate Bannon even more, if that’s possible) were giddy at the possibility of this election leading to a civil war within the Republican Party.
They ended up being disappointed. News of Moore’s victory last night led to a congratulatory tweet from Trump. Bannon even asserted that Moore’s victory was a victory for Trump, even though the president openly supported Strange.
Moore is perhaps best known for his refusal in 2003 to remove a display of the Ten Commandments from the Alabama state courthouse while serving as chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. His defiance of the federal court order cost him his job, but he won it back in 2013, only to lose it again three years later for ordering judges not to issue same-sex marriage licenses. On Monday, Moore demonstrated his support for the Second Amendment by drawing his gun at a campaign rally, a move that left Democrats with a case of the vapors. Few can question Moore’s conservatism and his dedication to principle. Some have wondered, though, if Moore will be able to play well with others in the Senate should he win the general election in December. His conservative credentials will serve the Republican agenda well, but his maverick style could do the opposite by adding more chaos to the unpredictable political climate.
Moore will face former U.S. attorney Doug Jones in the general election on Dec. 12. Jones won the Democrat primary in August. A win for Moore is crucial for Republicans. They have a majority with just 52 seats, and we already know that this isn’t enough to keep two or three rogues from blocking their own party’s agenda.
Moore has in his favor the fact that Alabama is a solid GOP state that has elected Republicans to the U.S. Senate continuously since 1997. In Sessions’ last election as senator in 2014, he ran unopposed. Trump won the state last year with 62% of the vote. This last fact could be pointed to as a reason for Republicans to be optimistic, yet cautious, given Trump’s volatility with the electorate. Democrats are sure to make the race about him, and it can be expected that they will nationalize the race. It could be a long wait until December.  ~The Patriot Post

by Judge Andrew Napolitano
{townhall.com} ~ The weird odyssey of President Donald Trump's travel bans continues. The original ban, signed as an executive order Jan. 27, barred absolutely all immigrants and refugees from seven predominantly Muslim countries. The countries had actually been chosen by the State Department of former President Barack liar-nObama. liar-nObama never signed a ban, but Trump did.

The first travel ban never took effect, as the federal courts in Brooklyn, Seattle, and Honolulu in which it was challenged by people from the affected countries who had visas to enter the United States enjoined it almost immediately. When the Department of Justice challenged those injunctions, it lost. The basis for the judicial invalidations of the first ban was that it constituted a government decision based on religion.

Since the religion clauses of the First Amendment protect everyone -- not just citizens -- and since the seven countries designated by the liar-nObama and Trump State departments and barred under Trump's executive order were predominantly Muslim, and since candidate Trump had made very harsh anti-Muslim comments during the campaign, the courts ruled that the travel ban was actually a Muslim ban and thus was unconstitutional.

Before the DOJ could appeal its losses to the Supreme Court, President Trump signed a second travel ban March 6. It rescinded the original ban and articulated a national security and geographic basis for barring entry from six countries eliminating Iraq. It, too, was challenged in the same federal courts as the first ban, and it suffered the same fate for the same reasons. This second ban reached the Supreme Court, which, by a 6-3 vote, invalidated the injunctions imposed by lower-court judges against it but carved out an exemption from the ban.

The carve-out exempted from the ban all refugees and immigrants from the designated countries who have "bona fide relationships" here in the United States. The dissenting justices argued that the Supreme Court had no business rewriting a presidential executive order and observed that the language in the carve-out -- bona fide relationships -- is vague and could spawn litigation over its meaning.

When the Department of Homeland Security defined "bona fide relationships" to include in-laws but not cousins or grandparents, that definition was challenged. The same federal judges who had invalidated the first and second bans then interpreted the phrase to permit the entry of anyone who had any family relationship in the U.S., any job offer, any offer of university admission or any offer of settlement here by a refugee program. The DOJ appealed that to the Supreme Court, and it removed the refugee settlement programs from the definition of bona fide relationships but permitted the remainder of the judicially determined phrase to stand. The Supreme Court also ordered oral argument on the constitutionality of the second travel ban and scheduled it for Oct. 10.

Last week, the court realized that the second ban expires later this week, well before Oct. 10. This is of profound constitutional significance because the expiration of the ban renders it moot. The Constitution limits the jurisdiction of all federal courts to real cases and controversies. If the ban does not exist on Oct. 10, there will be no case or controversy over it, and the Supreme Court will have no jurisdiction -- no federal court will -- to hear the case. Earlier this week, the Supreme Court canceled the Oct. 10 oral argument.

Cognizant of the mootness issues addressed above and aware that the second ban expires at the end of this week, the president signed a third travel ban last Sunday night. The third ban adds immigrants and refugees from Chad, North Korea, and Venezuela to the remaining countries articulated in the second ban. It includes the exemption of bona fide relationships, and it purports to be based on the unique problems from people whose origin is in an international hot spot. It is not couched as a Muslim ban. Of the added countries, North Korea is largely atheist, and Venezuela is largely Roman Catholic; the remaining countries are overwhelmingly Muslim.

The third ban, which takes effect Oct. 18 -- meaning that the president has chosen to impose no ban for 19 days -- will affect everyone without a bona fide relationship in the U.S., and it appears to be permanent. The third ban is far more legally sophisticated than its predecessors. It purports to address each country uniquely, and it clearly was written with an eye toward the lower-court rulings over which its predecessors stumbled.

I have serious misgivings about the morality and political wisdom of these travel bans. The right to travel and to escape oppression is a natural human right, with which no government may morally interfere. And the assumption that merely because a person belongs to a group defined by immutable characteristics of birth -- place of birth, in this case -- the person shares all the dominant traits of others in that group has been rejected as un-American for generations.

Yet the travel bans are constitutional. That is so because the Constitution reposes foreign policy in the president and because Congress has reposed in him the ability to establish and enforce travel bans, and the courts should be loath to second-guess the president on foreign policy. That is at least how the Supreme Court has spoken on this to date. Yet look for this ban to be enjoined by lower federal courts before it takes effect. Their antipathy to all things Trump seems unabated.

Packers’ Attempt to Involve Fans In Anthem Demonstration Falls Flat, Most Chant ‘USA!’ Instead

Sep 29, 2017 by Clyde 4 Comments

The Packers players wrote a long letter to their fans this week. A letter in which the team asked their fans to join them in interlocking arms during the anthem on Thursday night.

According to quarterback Aaron Rodgers, this was a moment that stood for, “…equality.” As well as “…unity and love, and growing together as a society and starting a conversation around something that may be a little bit uncomfortable for people.”

Well, as it turns out, most Packers fans didn’t want to have a “conversation,” weren’t interested in”growing together,” and certainly had no desire to be made “a little bit uncomfortable.” Instead, the activity most Packers fans elected to participate in when it came time to honor America, was to chant “USA! USA! USA!:”
While all players, for the Packers and Bears stood with arms interlocked. Only a few isolated groups of fans chose too. To the Packers credit, unlike last weekend, no Green Bay players were found on the bench. On Sunday, Green Bay”s Martellus Bennett, Kevin King, and Lance Kendricks protested by sitting on the bench. On Thursday night, every Bear and every Packer was on his feet.

Fan outrage, in Green Bay in particular, has been intense since last weekend’s protests. Many Packers fans called the team office throughout the week, letting them know how uncomfortable they felt with the protests, and team’s efforts to get the fans to join in the demonstration on Thursday night.

The team decided to continue with the planned demonstration, and clearly the fans were not having it. The recent surge in NFL protests was brought on by comments from President Trump last Friday night, when he referred to players who protest the anthem as “SOB’s,” amnd said he’s like to see them fired.

The Steelers and the Broncos have already released statements saying they will end their protests and stand, beginning on Sunday. After what happened at the Packers game tonight, Green Bay may be the next team to join them.

GOP Saddles Itself With liar-nObamaCare
TJ2-SrvOAuSksYCqCmJ6JKeDNDlyfCIAiakwwI-UimWLJ4wIAPdjbz0ViFrWIG37Dp3QkiBIDDNha6eLKDRq_iCbxOzhUQ31LekhMGe7T6_cnJ4rWorzo8tBz0n19G8=s0-d-e1-ft#%3Ca%20rel%3Dnofollow%20href=?width=500by Political Editors:  With support for the Graham-Cassidy liar-nObamaCare overhaul effort eroding, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was forced to cancel this week’s planned vote. This now marks the third straight failure for Senate Republicans in their attempt at repealing — or really doing anything with — liar-nObamaCare. But this news come as no surprise since the writing was on the wall after Sen. RINO-John McCain announced that he would vote against the bill. Sen. RINO-Susan Collins was the one who pulled the plug.

Of course this doesn’t end the cascading problem that is liar-nObamaCare, and Democrats know it. They vigorously pushed to save the disastrous “Affordable” Care Act and are now pushing Republicans to join them in “fixing it.” Senate Minority Leader Chuck clown-Schumer recently said, “Instead of trying to cut health care, we Democrats are ready, willing and eager to work to improve our health care system.”
Getting a majority of Republicans on board a Democrat “fix it” plan will be a tall order since Republicans know that the law is flawed beyond repair. As Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD) stated, “I think there are a number of [Republicans who] are going to be very hesitant to try and put more money into a system that they are convinced is going south.
But for Republicans, liar-nObamaCare will remain a thorn in their side. Up next on the agenda is tax reform, which now will have to account for the ballooning cost of the ACA. Republicans had the opportunity to set the budget around a law they created, but now they will be beholden to a law they campaigned on removing. The ugly truth is the GOP is now stuck with liar-nObamaCare — there is no ignoring it and moving on.  ~The Patriot Post

{rickwells.us} ~ They call it the Congressional Tri-Caucus but the Try-Caucus, dedicated to “trying to get more power,  privilege and supremacy for their races and ethnicities,” is a more accurate description... that’s what brought them together for this group whining. The Congressional Tri-Caucus is composed of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC). Does anyone spot a trend here? When they focus on advancing and representing specific segments of the American population the “Representatives” must simultaneously exclude or minimize others. They don’t care about those Americans they are leaving out, the citizens of their districts and others that don’t match their color-keyed focus of importance. What matters to them is race promotion and elevation. While Trump confidant Roger Stone was defending himself in front of a separate committee elsewhere on Capitol Hill, legal scholars offered competing views on whether two Senate bills designed to protect Mueller from firing by Trump or someone in the Justice Department would pass constitutional muster during a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee. A bill sponsored by North Carolina Republican Thom Tillis and Delaware Democrat Chris Coons would allow a fired special counsel to have his dismissal reviewed by a three-judge panel within 14 days. UN Tells Canada to Pay Reparations for Slavery

{fixthisnation.com} ~ In yet another stunning display of arrogance, political correctness, and ignorance, the United Nations Human Rights Council is advising Canada to apologize for black slavery and pay reparations... for their role in the slave trade and other forms of “anti-black racism.” Canada, of course, did not become a self-governing country until well after Britain had banned slavery, and their participation in the Underground Railroad, helping slaves to escape the south, is well documented in the history books. But the UN’s recommendations show that there is nothing Canada or any other North American province can do to wash themselves free of culpability in the eyes of the left – which the UN most certainly is a part of. For globalist groups like this Human Rights Council, it’s better to spend time and money on the problems of the past than to focus on the serious human rights violations in North Korea, Syria, and a dozen other modern-day countries. Far better to once again blame white Westerners for evil than to shine a bright light on the shameful practices of an Islamic theocracy like Iran...  http://www.fixthisnation.com/conservative-breaking-news/un-tells-canada-pay-reparations-slavery/

{townhall.com} ~ If you like professional sports, a major reason -- perhaps THE reason -- you attend games or watch them on TV, is that it helps you escape from whatever occupies your mind the rest of the week. You certainly don't want the issues of the day encroaching on your enjoyment.

The recent exchange of insults between President Trump and some in the National Football League was the latest indication that there is no safe place remaining where one can hide from politics. The game in London between the Baltimore Ravens and the Jacksonville Jaguars was doubly offensive because of the many players who knelt down in protest when "The Star-Spangled Banner" was played, but stood for the British national anthem, "God Save the Queen." Were they unaware of Britain's slave trade history?

Football is a sport, but it is also a business. Fans pay big money for tickets, gear, parking and overpriced food and drinks. They have put up with a lot to root for their favorite teams, but these protests, which many regard as disrespecting America and the flag, may have exceeded their high tolerance level.

The players say they are "taking a knee" to protest police brutality inordinately targeted toward African Americans. It is this systemic racism, this inequality that they are attempting to bring into public view. It's a right cause, certainly, but perhaps the wrong arena? These players should first consider who is responsible for their unequally high salaries. Where else could most of them earn that kind of money? If fans stop coming to games and watching them on TV, the unique covenant between player and fan will be broken, perhaps forever.

Sunday night games on NBC usually attract a large number of viewers. Last week's game between Washington and Oakland, according to an ESPN report, "was the lowest-rated Week 3 game from metered markets since 2006. ... Preliminary television ratings for the nationally broadcast games Sunday on CBS, Fox, and NBC were down 1 percent, 16 percent, and 11 percent, respectively."

Fans of the Washington Redskins, who are historically loyal, booed players for kneeling and locking arms during the national anthem. Don't these players realize they are killing the golden goose?

NBA star LeBron James called President Trump a "bum" for suggesting that protesting players be fired, but this controversy has been a long time coming and what's happening with the NFL is symbolic of something deeper.

Many are fed-up with being told they have to tolerate everything they don't believe in. They are sick of being called names for upholding values that have served the nation well. They see President Trump as championing those values, however short he's come in practicing them. They believe he loves America as they do and are willing to forgive behavior they wouldn't tolerate in anyone else.

The president has called for a boycott of NFL games if these demonstrations continue. One already sees a lot of empty seats at some games. Part of it may be that people don't want to support perpetual losers, but it may also be that fans don't want politics in sports.

In a football game, a penalty is imposed for unnecessary roughness. This current roughness is unnecessary. The president has made his views clear. After many players refused invitations to come to the White House, the president disinvited them from the traditional ceremonies. The NFL continues to stand -- for now -- with its players. Maybe what's needed is something like President liar-nObama's "beer summit," with players, fans, and the president talking to each other instead of hurling insults. Other solutions might include players staying in the locker room during the national anthem, as the Pittsburgh Steelers did, or perhaps to cut the anthem altogether.

Whatever grievances the players have, these demonstrations help no one. Future demonstrations could further widen the divide in an already seriously fractured nation.

Dear owners, coaches and assorted uniformed thugs, miscreants and felons,

For the past several weeks, we, the people who spend our hard-earned money on things like tickets, merchandise and the products you pretend to like and use…in other words…those of us who pay your ridiculous salaries…have a little something we’d like to share with you, but first…a question…

Just what is it you are protesting?

You claim it’s got something to do with the police, or injustice toward deeply tanned people by the police, or something else along those lines…right?

You do realize that more white people are killed by the police than black people…don’t you?

You do realize that the overwhelming majority of black people killed in this country of ours are killed by other black people…to the tune of about 93%…right?

Opinion in Brief

Michelle Malkin: “I’m calling foul on all the leftists rushing to protect the NFL’s protest crusaders from President Donald Trump’s criticism of their national anthem antics. Their shabby line of defense? The NFL is a ‘private enterprise’ whose ‘rights’ are being violated by those who dare to challenge the league’s political radicalization. … Funny. These fair-weather friends of corporate free speech and the First Amendment were nowhere to be found when Boston Mayor Tom Menino and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel were vowing to shut down Chick-fil-A in their towns as government retaliation against the founders’ private religious beliefs. As for the NFL’s status as a ‘private’ enterprise? That’s some Super Bowl-sized audacity right there. I first started tracking publicly subsidized sports boondoggles with my very first watchdog website, Porkwatch, back in 1999. Since then, taxpayers at all levels of government have foot the bill for football stadiums to the tune of an estimated $1 billion every year. … As long as the NFL has its hog noses buried in the taxpayer trough, I’ll keep speaking up about all the football militants who backed former 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick and his disgusting cops-as-pigs socks. You wanna raise your fists on the field? Get your grubby hands out of our pockets first.”  ~The Patriot Post

If ‘Hands Up, Don’t Shoot’ Is a Myth
Why Do So Many Black Americans Believe It?

by Minister Michael Brown
{townhall.com} ~ According to every reliable report, my young namesake Michael Brown was not shot in the back, nor did he have his hands up, nor did he utter the words, “Hands up, don’t shoot.” If any of this had been true, the Department of Justice would have nailed Darren Wilson, the policeman involved in the incident, since the DOJ was quite motivated to find fault with the police. Why, then, do so many black Americans believe and repeat the “hands up, don’t shoot” narrative?

A few months ago, for the first time, I signed up for Google Alerts, where you get regular e-notices when your name is mentioned online. Of course, with a common name like mine, especially without my middle initial “L,” I knew that most of the notices would be about others. There are a lot of Michael Browns out there!

But almost every day, the vast majority of notices I get are about Ferguson’s 18-year-old Michael Brown. He is the constant topic of conversation, the cause célèbre when it comes to justice issues in America. Why?

There are plenty of derogatory answers that are readily available and I apologize for having to list them, as offensive as they are.

These answers would include: Black Americans are simply listening to their race-baiting leaders think, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and others. Or, black Americans are being duped by the leftwing media. Or, black Americans are easily stirred up by groups like Black Lives Matter.

Although it’s distasteful to list such charges, I’m sure that some readers will nod in affirmation, saying, “Yes, it’s actually all of the above.”

In reality, black Americans are influenced by race-baiters, the leftwing media, and activist groups just as much as white Americans are. Check out the latest “Nazi scum” chant at Berkeley for evidence.

Why, then, do so many black Americans continue to believe the Ferguson myth? It’s for the same reason that many black Americans thought O.J. Simpson was innocent: a fundamental distrust of the criminal justice system.

Years of listening to my radio show callers have taught me that, generally speaking, black Americans and white Americans still do not share equal footing.

I’m talking about countless calls that I’ve received from God-fearing, Bible-believing, authority-respecting, conservative black Americans.

I’m talking about people who have listened to me for years, who will shout to the world that they don’t believe there’s a racist bone in my body, and yet will say, “Dr. Brown, I love you, but you just don’t get it.”

Black pastors have told me about their bad experiences with police.

Black Christian mothers have told me about how they had to train their kids not to respond to hostile questioning from a police officer, for fear that they would be shot.

Dr. Brian Williams, the black doctor in Dallas who treated some of the cops who were ambushed last year said, “This is much more complicated for me personally. . . . There's this dichotomy where I'm standing with law enforcement, but I also personally feel that angst that comes when you cross the path of an officer in uniform and you're fearing for your safety. I've been there, and I understand that.”

Lest you think this is just urban myth, the New York Times reports that “Decades of research have shown that the criminal courts sentence black defendants more harshly than whites.”

Indeed, a new study “exposes the fact that African-American defendants get more time behind bars — sometimes twice the prison terms of whites with identical criminal histories — when they commit the same crimes under identical circumstances. It also shows how bias on the part of individual judges and prosecutors drives sentencing inequity.”

You might say, “But who started all this? It’s because of rampant black crime that black youths are profiled. It’s because of the breakdown of the black family that so many kids are wayward. It’s because of absentee fathers that we’re having this crisis. The cops are just doing their jobs, and there’s obviously a reason the judges are sentencing blacks more harshly.”

I personally agree that, in the vast majority of cases, the cops are just trying to do their jobs, and I stand strongly with our police. And there’s no question that the breakdown in the black American family, aided and abetted by the welfare system, is a major culprit in this crisis. As for sentences handed down by the courts, I claim no expertise and need to examine the data more carefully.

But I’m not trying to win an argument here. I’m trying to make a point: Speaking in broad terms, the life experience of black Americans is often very different than that of white Americans, leading to very different perceptions of the same events.

We can ignore these differences, arguing our points with passion and talking about the unpatriotic actions of black athletes who protest our national anthem. Or we can do our best to sit down with those who differ with us and ask them to share their perspective with us.

I personally believe the national anthem protests are misguided and do more harm than good since they send out an unpatriotic, ungrateful message. And I hate the fact that the Ferguson myth is being used to stoke fires of racial hatred.

But I also know there’s another side to the story, one that many white Americans miss entirely, and as a follower of Jesus, I want to listen first and speak second. I encourage you to do the same. Don’t we all want justice for all?

liar-nObama’s Deep State Is Finished
After A Leaker Was Caught Red-Handed
{greatamericandaily.com} ~ Barack liar-nObama’s Deep State has enjoyed months of free shots at Donald Trump. That just changed in a big way... The Deep State is finished after one of its operatives was caught red-handed in a massive scandal. liar-nObama’s Deep State repeatedly damaged the Trump administration through unmasking associates who were caught up in foreign surveillance and then illegally leaking that information to the press. These illegal leaks are what ultimately forced out former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn. liar-nObama’s former National Security Advisor Susan Rice was revealed to have requested the unmasking of Trump officials after lying about having any knowledge of unmasking activities in a TV interview...  http://greatamericandaily.com/obamas-deep-state-is-finished-after-a-leaker-was-caught-red-handed/

Atlantic Jihad: The
Untold Story of White Slavery

{themuslimissue.wordpress.com} ~ Europeans captured and sold by Islamic jihadist in Africa. In Poland alone over 3 million people were taken into slavery by muslims, an enormous number for a small country like Poland... One can only imagine how many millions far closer to the entry points into European countries got kidnapped and taken into slavery across Europe by muslims. Add that number to centuries of muslim slave raids. Whilst the Arabs have been acknowledged as a prime force in the early usage of slaves from Africa, very little has been written about their usage of White slaves, whether they were part of the Russian slave trade or those kidnapped by Arab pirates. However, in recent years, the research of some authors has been bringing this issue to light The origins of African slavery in the New World cannot be understood without some knowledge of the millennium of warfare between Christians and Muslims that took place in the Mediterranean and Atlantic and the piracy and kidnapping that went along with it...  https://themuslimissue.wordpress.com/2017/09/27/atlantic-jihad-the-untold-story-of-white-slavery/

NY Times Continues its Mission
of Rehabilitating Communism's Image
by Alex Parker
{truthrevolt.org} ~ The New York Times, long known as a leftist progaganda outlet, has outdone itself this year with a host of articles sympathetically spotlighting... if not actually promoting—Communism. The weekly series, entitled “Red Century: Exploring the History and Legacy of Communism, 100 Years After the Russian Revolution,” has been running since February. It features segments such as “Socialism’s Future May Be Its Past— Communism was a dead end, but we can reclaim socialism,” “Lenin’s Eco-Warriors,” “When Communism Inspired Americans,” “The Cold War and America’s Delusion of Victory,” and, jaw-droppingly, “Why Women Had better Sex Under Socialism.” In one of the articles, Helen Gao writes, “For all its flaws, the Communist revolution taught Chinese women to dream big.” Flaws...  http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/ny-times-continues-its-mission-rehabilitating-communisms-image

by John J. Bastiat:  “We know Iran has already violated parts of the [nuclear] agreement. … They’re not just walking ‘up to the line’ on the agreement: They’re crossing the line at times.” —National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster

In the wake of his recent comprehensive review of U.S. policy toward Iran, President Donald Trump ably demonstrated he “gets it.” Referencing his future stance on the Iran nuclear deal brokered by his not-ready-for-primetime predecessor, President Trump hinted to reporters last week at the United Nations General Assembly, “I have decided. I’ll let you know what the decision is.” The president has often slammed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), that is, the so-called “Iran Deal.” That deal is also more appropriately termed a “treaty” — unless of course you’re Barack liar-nObama and don’t want the Senate involved in ratifying it. Thus, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to infer Trump’s decision won’t favor Iran.
That’s certainly more than can be said for the previous decision oozing out of the executive branch, which traded Iran’s unverifiable “promise” to “limit” its development of nuclear weapons in exchange for the blanket lifting of crippling economic and political sanctions. In other words, as envisioned and executed during the liar-nObama regime, Iran got a free pass. That ended last week.
Correctly labeling the fatally flawed agreement for what it is, in his address to the UN General Assembly the president branded JCPOA as “one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the U.S. has ever entered into” and “an embarrassment to the U.S.” (Other than that, it’s a great agreement.) The president further warned that the status quo could have grave consequences: “We cannot let a murderous regime continue these destabilizing activities while building dangerous missiles, and we cannot abide by an agreement if it provides cover for the eventual construction of a nuclear program.” These words are welcome and overdue.
Ending this raw deal for America is more than justified. As National Security Advisor and retired Gen. McMaster noted, Iran routinely violates even the overly generous terms of the current agreement. Although the administration did — reluctantly — certify this quarter’s compliance by Iran with JCPOA, the move seems, at the least, to be a political timing piece, not an affirmation that things are “jiggy” with a nation whose stated goal is to wipe Israel “and its allies” (read: us, a.k.a. “The Great Satan,” in Ayatollah-speak) “off the face of the earth.” Sure: Who wouldn’t want to enter a deal with a country like this? In any case, we wouldn’t advise optimism on certification next quarter (deadline October 15th). Some media sources claim ending JCPOA could trigger diplomatic upheaval with the five other nations, including China and Russia, that were involved in negotiating it, but so what? Ruffled “frenemy” feathers are nothing new or abnormally threatening to the U.S., while a nuclear-tipped Iran is.
Moreover, Iran shows no signs of changing its evil ways. Responding to Trump’s UN address, Iran dragged its usual “death to them all” diplomacy up from the gallows to give a fresh stink-eye to the rest of the civilized world. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani flatly declared that any ideas about renegotiation are dead on arrival. He also stated that “the Iranian people deserve an apology” from Trump, since he labeled their government a “murderous regime.” An apology? Since when does truth-in-diplomacy about, well, a murderous regime warrant an apology — especially to the people suffering under it?
As Trump further noted, “The Iranian government masks a corrupt dictatorship behind the false guise of a democracy.” As has been documented in myriad articles on countless occasions, Iran is also one of the world’s leading state sponsors and exporters of terrorism. More recently, it colluded with North Korea to co-develop both countries’ ballistic nuclear weapons programs, while simultaneously giving the middle finger to International Atomic Energy Agency nuclear facility inspectors. Iran restricted and even denied inspectors’ access to facilities that must be inspected to certify compliance with the JCPOA.
Then, last weekend, Iran test-fired another long-range ballistic missile as a figurative shot across the bow.
The only way to deal with rogue regimes such as these is to speak in the one language they all understand: Power. Iran must be made to understand that relief on likely soon-to-be-re-imposed sanctions is directly tied to its conduct, and that bad conduct means no relief — or even tighter sanctions. A good first step in that direction is to decertify Iran’s compliance with the JCPOA.
As U.S. Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley noted, “If the president chooses not to certify Iranian compliance, that does not mean the United States is withdrawing from the JCPOA. If the president finds that he cannot certify Iranian compliance, it would be a message to Congress that the administration believes either that Iran is in violation of the deal, or that the lifting of sanctions against Iran is not appropriate and proportional to the regime’s behavior, or that the lifting of sanctions is not in the U.S. national security interest, or any combination of the three.”
In other words, decertification doesn’t end JCPOA; it simply gives the U.S. more leverage than it currently has. That’s at least a small first step in the right direction.  ~The Patriot Post
