Part 3 – In Support of a Deranged, Bungling, Monster

A little over a year ago, I found myself at the center of a grassroots effort among my social networking circle more or less campaigning for Donald Trump. My social reach at the time was distributed slightly to the right, but even on the right, the establishment-loving segment (Never Trumpers) put Trump supporters in the minority.

The “news” was full of shoddily crafted cut-downs targeting a man I’d met in person on a few occasions in the mid-1990’s while working in New York City. The picture being painted was not representative of that man or the man New England Democrats often hailed as a role model and perhaps even someday-savior of their political party. A brand new Trump had been invented who was a deranged, bungling, monster who was ready to hand our great nation over to the worst possible elements and ensure a new dark age for America.

The federal government had become a malignant tumor, consuming every available resource to grow its mass and metastasize to every corner of American life with no regard to the host it was killing, the American People. The killing of the American People was figurative on a national and cultural level, but had become questionably more specific in incidents like the very suspicious death of LaVoy Finicum. (Remember the Bundy Ranch/Bereau of Land Management/Harry Reid scandal that just keeps getting deeper?)

The flagship “accomplishment” of the last two Presidential terms had been the Affordable Care Act, a program so invasive and so mathematically impossible, I was certain the real point of the program was bankrupting America at both federal and state levels rather than anything to do with health care. Supporters of the ACA could not see past its name to understand the underlying impossibility of living up to that name. On a personal level, as someone with real and constant health care needs, all the ACA managed to do for me was make healthcare even more inaccessible.

On the Left, I saw massive corruption and a death spiral for our country. On the Right, I saw the exact same thing. The DNC/RNC dynamic had become a closed system with every action by either side seeming to row the same boat, the only difference being whether the oar was port or starboard. The boat was merrily navigating towards a waterfall of national insolvency and the political elite were the only ones with life vests.

So this is how it came to pass that I campaigned for Trump within my own reach. My goal was meager, but realistic enough to be achievable: I wanted the people I knew to see past the old Left versus Right scam and move forward with a candidate for whom I had objective evidence of being outside the Left/Right boat. Even a bad Trump Presidency would be better than going over the waterfall.

Part 1 – I Dare You to Try to Understand

Some stories need to be told because they help others gain an understanding of their own story. This is one such story. I’ll be rolling it out as an 11 part mini-series and I personally invite you to read it.

This story is for you if you were terrified of what would happen next after Trump’s victory in the 2016 Presidential Election. This story is for you if you voted for Trump and are sometimes confused about being branded “deplorable” when you feel like a patriotic American. This story is for you if 2016 was such a dumpster fire, you abstained from participation altogether, but deep down inside, wonder what is really happening and how it will unfold for you and the people you care about. Finally, if the sharp political divisions left in the wake of the Trump Presidency have affected your relationships, this story is definitely for you.

Along with my invitation, I must also extend a dare. There is something in this story to anger just about everyone because I discuss opposing views. I dare you to read it anyway. Be detached for a moment. Get through the part you will certainly find reprehensible. I am not trying to change your beliefs or imply my beliefs are better than yours. I’m trying to provide a perspective which, in the end, has a victory for everyone who has the resolve to get there.

A hot mic caught Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., saying that the Republican Party is "toast" if it embraces President Trump and Roy Moore.

ABC affiliate KNXV captured the remarks on video while Flake was conversing with Mesa Mayor John Giles.

"If we become the party of Roy Moore and Donald Trump, we are toast," he said at a tax reform event in Mesa, Ariz., on Friday.

Flake, a vocal Republican critic of Trump, said this week that he "no doubt" would support a Democrat over the embattled Moore.

He later tweeted about the hot mic report that there is "no news here," as several journalists had already noted, because he has made similar comments about Moore "to anyone who will listen."

Uranium One Scandal Simmers on Back Burner

Surely she’s hoping all that hullabaloo will drag on through the holidays until some other scandal or big news story grabs the headlines.

          But those pesky little dribs and drabs of news we’re getting about the Uranium One scandal are arousing plenty of interest and concern in uncomfortable places. Forget the rabble-rousers crying “treason” though. As Jonah Goldberg notes at National Review, that 20% share of American uranium liar-Hillary sold off to the Russians is but 2/10 of 1% of the world’s global reserves — and Russia has nine times our share already. (Goldberg and fellow NR writer Andrew McCarthy have been a veritable tag team of information on the scandal.) No, the criminality is where we often find corruption: follow the money.
          For example, what made liar-Bill Clinton such an interesting speaker that a “Kremlin-tied” financial institution would pony up a cool $500,000 to hear him talk? And how about all those millions that found their way into the liar-Clinton Foundation coffers right about then?
          The part of the alleged criminality that ties more directly to liar-Hillary  Clinton is the disposal of thousands of emails accrued while she was Barack liar-nObama’s secretary of state — emails that should have been kept as part of the public record but instead were stashed on an inaccessible (except, perhaps, to hackers) private server. Of course, liar-Hillary was hiding something, and this little bit of smoke that Uranium One represents could be a significant brush fire when one considers all the unsavory characters who may have done business via the back channels of the liar-Clinton Foundation to avoid the front door of public scrutiny with the liar-nObama administration. It’s a heck of a mess that’s been left to Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
          Sessions had been given a full plate already thanks to Democrats’ calls to investigate Russian ties to President Trump — an investigation in which Sessions has been unnecessarily hamstrung by his decision to recuse himself. But that hasn’t stopped the Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee, led by Chairman Bob Goodlatte of Virginia,from  demanding  Sessions select a second special counsel to match the Democrats’ choice of onetime FBI head Robert Mueller to investigate the Trump campaign. In a Sept. 26 letter to Sessions, Goodlatte and his committee urged the appointment of a special counsel as the case “only reinforces the sense that our nation’s top law enforcement officials conspired to sweep the liar-Clinton ‘matter’ under the rug, and that there is, truly, one system for the powerful and politically well-connected, and another for everyone else.”
          On the other hand, some contend a liar-Clinton investigation can be handled within the Justice Department. Once again, Andrew McCarthy  argues, “Republicans should stop grousing about a special counsel and hope Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein has the good sense to assign any liar-Clinton investigation to a credible counsel. What is needed here is a scrupulous, experienced, skillful prosecutor — preferably, a district U.S. attorney with an excellent staff — who has not commented publicly on the matters under investigation and whose integrity is beyond question.”
          Another person who’s objecting to the appointment of a special counsel is, of course, liar-Hillary Clinton, who called the idea an “abuse of power.” (Something tells us she’s an expert in the field.) But even more ironic is her assertion later in the interview that appointing a special counsel “will also send a terrible signal to our country and the world that somehow we are giving up on the kind of values that we used to live by and we used to promote worldwide.” Madam liar-Hillary, we believe that ship sailed while your husband was president.
          liar-Hillary and liar-Bill can hope that some other sex scandal (oh, again the irony) can pop up and keep Uranium One off the front pages and the nightly news. But those who are now intent on following the money trail could make things very interesting over the next few weeks.  {townhall.com} ~ Evidence that when Democrats rule taxes are never high enough can be found at any gas station in this once politically competitive state. Last month, the California gas tax was raised 12 cents a gallon. Regular gas at some stations is again approaching, and in some cities exceeding, $4 a gallon, a level not seen since natural disasters temporarily curtailed refinery production, and Gulf States manipulated prices.

Republicans plan to put the gas tax issue on the 2018 ballot; hoping voters will roll back the increases.

Some are not waiting for the next election, but are voting with their feet. One couple I know recently moved from San Diego to Arizona solely because of high taxes on their income and regulations on their small business. They are not alone.

Coupled with the increasing cost of living in big cities, California, once a magnet for new arrivals, has now reversed polarity. Taxes are only part of the reason for the exodus. According to Chief Executive Magazine's annual survey of the best and worst states for business, California has ranked last six years in a row. Texas, by contrast, has ranked first.

Add to this the recurring earth tremors, even earthquakes -- there was another Monday in Monterey County that registered 4.7 -- and expectations of a "big one," which continues to be talked about in scientific circles. Floods and forest fires destroy homes and lives. One-party rule also serves as an irritant for many of a different political persuasion.

Gov. Jerry Brown recently signed legislation declaring California a "sanctuary state" for illegal immigrants. The law forbids state and local police from providing any information to the federal government about illegal aliens that isn't already publicly available.

Then there is the annoying traffic. USA Today recently declared Los Angeles as having the worst traffic, not just in the country, but the world. San Francisco is not far behind.

The state legislature is flirting with a single-payer health insurance system, similar to Canada's. But with many Canadians coming to the U.S. for serious medical treatment, why would legislators want to replicate their less than ideal health care system? It again raises a question I have asked many times before and have yet to get a satisfactory answer: Why do so many turn to government as a first resource when government has proved its inability to achieve so many things competently and cost efficiently?

In this city by the bay, housing prices are so ridiculous The Guardian newspaper found a high-tech employee paying $1,400 a month to live in a "private room," which resembles a closet. "One Apple employee," it said, "was recently living in a Santa Cruz garage, using a compost bucket as a toilet. Another tech worker, enrolled in a coding boot camp, described how he lived with 12 other engineers in a two-bedroom apartment rented via Airbnb. 'It was $1,100 for a ... bunk bed and five people in the same room.'"

Salaries in Silicon Valley are high compared to other parts of the country, but the inflated housing costs dilute whatever buying power someone with that level of income would enjoy in most other states.

California is still a mostly beautiful state, especially along the coast, but its beauty is more superficial than substantive. According to the Orange County Register, "In 2016, some 26,000 more people left the Bay Area than arrived. San Francisco net migration went from a high of 16,000 positive in 2013 to 12,000 negative three years later.

"Similar patterns have occurred across the state. Between 2010 and 2015, California had cut its average annual migration losses annually from 160,000 to 50,000, but that number surged last year to nearly 110,000. Losses in the Los Angeles-Orange County area have gone from 42,000 in 2011 to 88,000 this year. San Diego, where domestic migration turned positive in 2011 and 2012, is now losing around 8,000 net migrants annually."

Given the policies of state government, don't look for those numbers to improve.

Slavery is sanctioned in Islam. The word for a black person in Arabic is abid, or slave. Makes you scratch your head, doesn’t it? Consider how many African Americans convert to Islam. Or worse yet, Arabic is now mandatory in a Harlem public school. More proof of the epic failure of African American leadership.

This speaks to the power of disinformation and propaganda, and the effects of the brutal enforcement of the blasphemy laws under Islam (do not criticize Islam, under penalty of death). The truth remains hidden. Unfathomable human rights abuses and shocking war crimes remain largely unknown to the masses — not to the millions of victims, but they have been silenced.

Note also where this is happening. Obama rushed to remove a secular ruler who was working with us, but more importantly, containing the jihad threat. Of course he wasn’t the kind of ruler we would have liked to see in Libya or anywhere else. But what has come afterward has been much more. Since he was removed, Libya has descended into jihad chaos, and ISIS has developed a stronghold there.

Obama had America stand down while our Ambassador and American attaches were slaughtered in cold blood. And now jihad is sweeping across Libya like the plague, bringing in its wake the scourge of slavery and so many other evils.


“At Slave Auctions, Libya Smugglers Are Selling Off Migrants For As Little As $400,” by Jack Moore, Newsweek, November 14, 2017:

Migrants trying to reach Europe via North Africa are being sold at modern-day slave auctions by smugglers in Libya for as little as $400, a new investigation has revealed.

Along the Libyan coast, smugglers have racked up hundreds of thousands of dollars putting migrants on the perilous journey to Europe on rickety boats across the Mediterranean Sea. Now they are being sold off to buyers for manual labor, according to CNN.

Desperate migrants make their way through sub-Saharan Africa—either west or east—to Libya, a near-failed state wracked by years of civil war and lawlessness, to pay substantial sums to traffickers in hope of a new life on European shores.

According to the investigation, cell phone footage showed African men being sold, offered as one of the “big, strong boys for farm work.”

In the Libyan capital of Tripoli, an auction was witnessed for a man whose price rose from 500 dollars to $650. Some were sold for just $400, less than half the median weekly earnings of an American worker.

“Does anybody need a digger? This is a digger, a big, strong man, he’ll dig,” an auctioneer said. “What am I bid, what am I bid?”

This situation has arisen because of the European and Libyan crackdown on smuggler vessels—meaning that those who arrive in Libya have no boats on which to leave, and the smugglers have nowhere to send the migrants.

Instead, the traffickers are attempting make money from migrants’ desperation.

Libyan authorities in the city say they have knowledge of the smuggling operations in the country, but not slave auctions. “They fill a boat with 100 people, those people may or may not make it,” First Lieutenant Naser Hazam of the Libyan government’s Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency told CNN.

“[The smuggler] does not care as long as he gets the money, and the migrant may get to Europe or die at sea.”

Previous investigations by Newsweek have shown that smugglers, particularly in the coastal town of Zuwara, drew in hundreds of migrants from across Africa, from Egypt, Sudan, and Niger, using social media.

A French academic has suggested creating a Muslim state within France in order to prevent a civil war.

Professor Christian de Moliner claims that a second society has formed in France, which he described as: “A branch that wants to settle their lives on religious values and is fundamentally opposed to the liberal consensus on which our country was founded.

“We can never convert the 30% of Muslims who demand the introduction of sharia law to the merits of our democracy and secularism.

“We are now allowing segregation to take place that does not say its name. Rather than veil the face or adopt unimaginable measures in democracy (remigration, forced evictions of the most radical), why not establish a dual system of law in France?”

De Moliner writes that Emmanuel Macron winning the Presidential election will not make the problems disappear, it will only kick the can down the road.

“We will never be able to eradicate the radical Islamism,” he says, adding: “While we are not yet at open war, the faithful of the Prophet are already regrouping in areas sometimes governed by special rules.”

The academic’s ‘solution’ is to create a “state inspired by colonial Algeria and Mayotte of the twentieth century: one territory, one government, but two peoples: the French with the usual laws and Muslims with Qur’anic status (but only for those who choose it).”

“The latter will have the right to vote unlike the natives of colonial Algeria, but they will apply Shariah in everyday life, to regulate matrimonial laws (which will legalize polygamy) and inheritance.”

“They will no longer apply to French judges for disputes between Muslims, but to Cadis. On the other hand, conflicts between Christians and believers will remain the responsibility of ordinary courts.”

“However, this system would involve schools or hospitals reserved for believers and therefore the creation of local committees that will manage them independently. A council of ulemas will fix the religious law, but the autonomy will stop there.”

“It is obviously out of the question that an embryonic Muslim government is settling in France.”

“This system worked without too many problems from 1890 to 1940 in Algeria.”

The Dutch government says it will abandon the long-standing model of multiculturalism that has encouraged Muslim immigrants to create a parallel society within the Netherlands .

A new integration bill, which Dutch Interior Minister Piet Hein Donner presented to parliament on June 16, reads: "The government shares the social dissatisfaction over the multicultural society model and plans to shift priority to the values of the Dutch people".

With this change, the government steps away from the model of a multicultural society.

The letter continues: "A more obligatory integration is justified because the government also demands that from its own citizens."

It is necessary because otherwise the society gradually grows apart and eventually no one feels at home anymore in the Netherlands.The new integration policy will place more demands on immigrants.For example, immigrants will be required to learn the Dutch language, and the government will take a tougher approach to immigrants who ignore Dutch values or disobey Dutch law.

The government will also stop offering special subsidies for Muslim immigrants because, according to Donner;
"It is not the government's job to integrate immigrants." (How bloody true).

The government will introduce new legislation that outlaws forced marriages and will also impose tougher measures against Muslim immigrants who lower their chances of employment by the way they dress.
More specifically, the government impose d a ban on face-covering, Islamic burqas as of January 1, .

Holland has done that whole liberal thing, and realized - maybe too late - that creating a nation of tribes, will kill the nation itself.

Who Are The Real Losers in the Judge Roy Moore Debacle

The American People are the real losers because of Senator Mitch McConnell.

The recent replacement process in Alabama (if nothing else) has shown us all just how flawed, corrupt and deceitful our political process has become in the United States. The tragedy is, the corruption and deceit didn’t come from wayward candidates, voter fraud or campaign finance illegality. The irony of this entire fiasco is the very ones who usually are guilty of fraud and deceit are the Democrats. In the case of this election, the Dem’s appear to be innocent in all of this “he said, she said” mess, and it is the Republicans who are pulling the dirty tricks.

Message for McConnell and Judge Roy Moore;

The United States Senate is the body that has traditionally been filled with upstanding, righteous, and honorable men and women. It is the body of the United States government that is recognized around the world. You are 100 of the most influential individuals on planet earth. You can all but start wars, collapse economies or build them, dethrown despots, make laws that affect a billion people on this planet literally. 

While ‘we the public’ will never know the phone calls and meetings held by Senator McConnell, we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you interfered with the elections held in Alabama. We know that you invested tens of millions of dollars in trying to defeat Judge Moore in the primary. This is an act that almost has never been carried out in our history. Usually, the party, the White House and either the House or Senate leadership (depending on the race) will stay out of a primary process until the smoke clears, then they will back the nominee. So what happened here? How and why did you become so involved in the Senate race in Alabama Mr. McConnell? Could it be because you felt threatened? Could it be because a man was about to go to Capitol Hill that was going to expose the cronyism that has been transpiring for decades finally? 

As an activist, Tea Party dude, conservative bloviator, I am often asked what the most significant threat to America is, in my opinion? Up until recently, I considered liberalism or progressivism the biggest threat to America. Not Anymore! Today, I am convinced the most significant threat to our Republic is corrupt politicians on both sides of the aisle.

Senator Mitch McConnell; You Sir are a threat to our democracy, our freedom, our liberty, and you have demeaned the stature of a Senator beyond compare. You are corrupt; you lie, you strip the will of the people from their decisions and you Sir, NEED TO RESIGN YOUR SEAT AND GO HOME~ 

President Donald J. Trump was elected lawfully, and he was the selection the American people wanted as our new Commander and Chief. We could clearly see his vision for our nation, and we loved his message. We embraced his strength as a leader, and we cherished his straightforward language rather than the delicate non-answers we typically receive from professional politicians.    

Mitch McConnell has done more damage to our Republic in the past year than most can do in a lifetime. Remember America; it was Mitch McConnell who promised to rid our nation of the bank-busting Obamacare that is punishing our citizenry. He not only did not press it through the Senate, but he didn’t because of the (God only knows what) friendships he has with the Insurance Lobbyist. Lest you think this is not the case, just look up how much they spent to keep Obamacare as national healthcare. They did so because of the hundreds of billions in a slush fund to offset losses. In the past 5-years, Insurance companies in this nation have made higher profits than they had in the previous fifty years. They did so because of the amount of money put in a slush fund by Senator Mitch McConnell and former Senator Harry Reid.

Senator McConnell is not just destroying our chances in 2018, but he is also destroying the GOP brand.

Now Senator McConnell believes that he knows best for the State of Alabama and “Who Should be Senator.” He lost the primary after he dumped some $30,000,000 into a race to support a Senator the citizens didn’t want. That slap in the face apparently did not get his attention. Keep in mind, the last thing McConnell can afford to happen is Roy Moore go to Capitol Hill. Now McConnell decides to poison the well by some last-minute campaign dirty tricks. Nobody will ever know if all these women are legitimate or not. The only person that truly knows the answer is Judge Roy Moore himself. But the handwriting is all over McConnell and company for these disastrous events for the Moore camp.

Senator McConnell; You sir are a self-righteous hypocrite of the first order. You’re a liar, you’re deceitful, and you’re dangerous. You continue to thwart President Trump’s agenda, and you don’t even remotely resemble a traditional Republican.

As for Judge Roy Moore; Sir, you have been bent over and royally shafted by the very party you represent. This is a tragedy of the highest order. The sad truth is, you probably will not win because of Mitch McConnell and company. I am not going to pretend to know what you should do at this time. In the same breath, I will say that I am not going pass judgment on all of these ladies claims. The truth is, only you know the truth. That is between you and the good Lord as to what happened or did not happen. I will just say that if it is true, then I am sorry for both you and the ladies.

In the end, Judge Moore ends up being a victim to the scourge known as McConnell. In the end, not only do the people of Alabama lose, the American people suffer as well. We are stuck with Mitch McConnell as the Leader of the Senate. We are stuck with a liar, and we are stuck with a corrupt politician. The worse part is, we lose a seat to a liberal and we are still not getting our Presidential agenda pushed through. Thanks, Mitch!

Alabama lady Beverly Young Nelson guaranteed on Monday that Judge Roy Moore sexually attacked her 40 years ago — disclosing to her story at a New York City q&a session held by prominent liberal lawyer Gloria Allred.

Nelson, 56, sat beside Allred and expressed that she came to know Roy Moore when she was 15 years of age, working in a neighborhood restaurant close to her secondary school. Moore was, a normal man eating in a similar seat each night and frequently complimenting her on her looks.

Now that is what is called being a legend and having guts, yet I wouldn’t have any desire to be him during this years’ Thanksgiving dinner!

After Brazile generated national news writing in her book Hillary Clinton rigged the Democrat primary, Senator Kirstin Gillibrand (D-NY) said former President Bill Clinton should have resigned over the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

Gillibrand’s comment in a New York Times interview made headline news.

Going where no other prominent Democrat had before on Thursday evening by declaring that Bill Clinton should have resigned the presidency during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, the New York senator and potential 2020 presidential contender yet again found herself the face of a national conversation with the potential to dominate headlines and divide her party.

Gillibrand’s comments in a New York Times podcast interview came as a surprise even to people close to her, according to multiple Democrats in her tight political circles. Asked whether Clinton should have stepped down, the senator paused and responded, “Yes, I think that is the appropriate response.”

The comment by Gillibrand was a surprise because the Clinton’s helped her get the New York Senate seat.

Clinton supporters were not happy with Gillibrand’s comment about the former president.

Doug Schoen, a former adviser to former President Bill Clinton, slammed Gillibrand on numerous Fox News programs including “Outnumbered.”

He said that Bill and Hillary Clinton probably did more to help Gillibrand than anyone else, yet she turned on them as soon as she saw that they presented no benefit to her in a prospective 2020 presidential run.

A totally new way to watch football

I know this is somewhat off subject, but I want to give a big shout-out to the NFL's fledgling attempt to cover its games in the new 3-D format. It's outrageous! It's as if you are standing right there on the sidelines. Marvelous!
I mean, there is one scene from Week 10 where the Falcon QB (Matt Ryan) fires a pass into the end zone from about the 10 yard line and it seems like the ball is coming straight at you when, all of a sudden, a Falcon receiver (Hardy #14 ) comes across the field of vision from the left and grabs it inches from your face. Incredible! It's a completely new and absorbing way to watch football!

{townhall.com} ~ The Department of Justice will soon commence an investigation to determine whether there should be an investigation you read that nonsense correctly of a scandal involving the liar-Clinton Foundation and a company called Uranium One. It appears that FBI decisions made during the time that liar-Hillary Clinton was being investigated for espionage will also be investigated to see whether there should be an investigation to determine whether she was properly investigated. Again, you read that nonsense correctly.

Only the government can relate nonsense with a straight face. Here is the back story.

When President Donald Trump fired FBI Director Jim Comey last spring, the attorney general's stated purpose for recommending the firing was Comey's dropping the ball in the investigation of liar-Clinton's email when she was secretary of state. After a year of investigating her use of her own computer servers to transmit and store classified materials instead of using a government server to do so -- and notwithstanding a mountain of evidence of her grossly negligent exposure of secret and top-secret materials, which constitutes the crime of espionage -- the FBI director decided that because no reasonable prosecutor would take the case, it should be dropped. Weeks later, the DOJ ratified Comey's decision.

At the same time that liar-Clinton was failing to safeguard state secrets, she was granting official State Department favors to donors to her family's charitable foundation. There are dozens of examples of this so-called "pay to play," the most egregious of which is the Uranium One case. This involved a Canadian businessman and friend of former President liar-Bill Clinton's, Frank Giustra, who bundled donations from various sources that totaled $148 million, all of which Giustra gave to the liar-Clinton Foundation.

At the same time that Giustra made this extraordinary donation, he was representing a client that needed federal permission to purchase a 51 percent stake in Uranium One, which then controlled about 20 percent of America's licensed uranium mining capacity. Secretary liar-Clinton freely gave Giustra's client the State Department's approval, and it soon acquired the remaining approvals to make the purchase. Giustra's client is a Russian corporation controlled by the Kremlin.

When the FBI got wind of the Giustra donation and Secretary liar-Clinton's approval and the Kremlin involvement, it commenced an investigation of whether liar-Clinton had been bribed. At some point during former President Barack liar-nObama's second term, that investigation was terminated. We do not know whether the investigating FBI agents learned that the liar-Clinton Foundation was not even registered as a charity by the states in which it was doing business or authorized by them to receive tax-free donations.

At the same time that the FBI was looking into Uranium One, American and British intelligence agents were surveilling Donald Trump. The belated stated purpose of that surveillance was to ascertain whether the future president or his colleagues were engaged in any unlawful activity by accepting campaign favors from foreign nationals or were improperly assisting foreign intelligence agents to interfere with the presidential election.

One of the foreign nationals whose communications were captured during that surveillance was Sergey Kislyak, then the Russian ambassador to the United States. He spoke with Michael Flynn, then the national security adviser to President-elect Trump. Mysteriously, portions of a transcript of those intercepted communications were published in The Washington Post.

Another foreign national who caught the FBI's attention is a former British intelligence agent named Christopher Steele. Steele had compiled a dossier about, among other things, alleged inappropriate behavior by Trump in a Moscow hotel room years earlier. After offering Steele $50,000 to corroborate his dossier, the FBI backed down.

After being confronted by irate Republican members of the House and Senate judiciary committees, who demanded to know why the investigations of these matters had been terminated, Attorney General Jeff Sessions revealed that he has asked career DOJ lawyers to commence an investigation of all of the above to determine whether an independent counsel should be appointed to investigate all of the above.

This is the investigation to determine whether there should be an investigation. This is also the DOJ's reluctance to do its job.

Can the government investigate itself? The short answer is yes, and it has done so in the past. But it hardly needs an investigation to determine whether there should be an investigation. The job of the DOJ is to investigate probable violations of federal law. Sessions should not shy away from this and should not push it off to another independent counsel.

We have one independent counsel already because his target -- let's be candid -- is the president of the United States. That is a potato too hot for the DOJ. But liar-Hillary and liar-Bill Clinton, the FBI's tampering with the political process, and the use of intelligence-captured communications for political purposes are not. It is profoundly the duty of the DOJ -- using its investigatory arm, the FBI -- to investigate all this.

Whatever Comey's motive for not prosecuting liar-Hillary Clinton and the DOJ's ratification of it, the current DOJ is not bound by these erroneous decisions. The evidence in the public domain of liar-Clinton's espionage and bribery is more than enough to be presented to a grand jury. The same cannot be said about FBI involvements with the Steele dossier or the use of intelligence data for political purposes because we don't yet know who did it, so we need aggressive investigation.

But none of this presents the type of conflict that exists when the president is a target, and none of this requires an independent counsel. All of this simply requires the DOJ to get to work.

That is unless the lawyers in the leadership of this DOJ are fearful of investigating their predecessors for fear that their successors might investigate them. Whoever harbors those fears has no place in government.

          Menendez’s co-defendant, Dr. Salomon Melgen, was convicted earlier this year in Florida of massive Medicare fraud. Fraud in which Menendez was implicated for having pressured Medicare officials to change billing practices after it was determined that Melgen had over-billed by millions of dollars. Menendez was also alleged to have helped Melgen, who is married, secure visas for his foreign mistresses. The government alleged that Menendez had then received luxury vacations and hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from Melgen’s business.
          Like a scene straight out of the movie “The Untouchables,” Menendez, sounding every bit the part of a mobster, warned, “To those who were digging my political grave so they could jump into my seat: I know who you are, and I won’t forget you.” Yikes!
          One of the most troubling aspects of this whole Menendez saga has been the mainstream media’s near silence on the story. The MSM has hardly covered the scandal and the subsequent trial. {peggynoonan.com} ~ In 2001 I thought it would be a suitcase bomb, a homemade nuclear device, not airplanes going into buildings. I’d felt something coming, had written of it, but that day, amid all the grief and carnage, I felt a lurking relief. I’d feared worse—tens of thousands gone, parts of the city rendered uninhabitable.

I feel a version of that relief now, after Tuesday’s truck attack downtown, within the shadow of the Freedom Tower. Barely three hours later, on Lexington Avenue from the 90s through the 70s, the streets were crowded with kids and parents out for Halloween. The mood was not a sag-shouldered “This is the new normal,” but a collected sense of “We can handle this.” There was an air of gallant enjoyment. It made the emotionalism of the mayor’s remarks—“We will not be cowed”; “This action was intended to break our spirit”—seem both hyped up and rote, and appropriate to another time.

Yes, ISIS is here; yes, this will happen again, and security is appropriately high for this weekend’s marathon. But it’s obvious, and has been for some time, that we’re in a different moment, a different part of the battle. For months and then years after 9/11, we feared al Qaeda would hit us again, harder. Sixteen years later what we see is a series of single, random-seeming acts by weak, stupid, highly emotional men who read propaganda sites and become excited in the way of the weak, stupid and highly emotional. Their attacks are low-tech, limited.

Graeme Wood had a smart piece for the Atlantic hours after the attack. “The details strongly suggest that the man was a complete idiot,” Mr. Wood wrote of the suspect, Sayfullo Saipov. “I harp on Saipov’s apparent stupidity for one reason: As long as Islamic State’s attackers are idiots like Saipov, our societies can probably handle them. . . . The Idiots’ Crusade is a manageable problem. Much less tolerable would be a campaign of competent terror—the kind of mayhem enabled by training, like the 2015 Bataclan killers in Paris had, or by patient planning, as Stephen Paddock in Las Vegas did.”

Continued vigilance is in order: “As Islamic State loses territory, the greatest danger remains the prospect that some of the battle-hardened fighters will return home, raising the average IQ of attackers, and making possible attacks that would be many times more deadly than this one.”

The bad guys now seem incompetent. But the bad guys will never go away, and it is to the deep and everlasting credit of U.S. law enforcement, especially the New York City Police Department, that they have been so contained. Some day they’ll hit us hard again, so no relaxation of efforts is possible. But right now it feels more like Britain’s long struggle with the Irish Republican Army than an existential threat, and we must be thankful when feelings improve. This was my small epiphany Tuesday night as I moved among people dressed as bumblebees, Pharaohs, Godzilla and an angel with black wings. I liked the gallant enjoyment. I shared it.

Here we shift to another thing that has changed, this one permanently. Before it goes away as a regular front-page story—and it will, because as Thoreau said, once you’re familiar with a principle you become less interested in hearing of its numerous applications—it must be noted that what has happened the past month regarding sexual harassment in the workplace is epochal, a true watershed and long overdue.

The revelations will have a huge impact, not because men now understand that sexual abuse and bullying are wrong—they always knew, and for many the wrongness would have been part of the enjoyment—but because they now know, really for the first time, that they will pay a terrible price if their misbehavior is revealed. And from here on in, there’s a greater chance it will be revealed, and believed.

The price to be paid was the real lesson of the past few weeks of resignations and firings. Celebrity abusers understand the first paragraph of their obit will now include something like, “. . . but fell from his position of power in the sexual-abuse scandals of the 2010s.”

That there is a price to be paid will have a deterrent effect. Human sin won’t stop; harassment will continue—but something important happened here.

In July 2015 New York magazine put 35 women on the cover who alleged that Bill Cosby had sexually violated them. Until then it had been a cloudy, amorphous story. Suddenly it was no longer he-said/she-said: You saw the faces, read the testimony, and knew what Mr. Cosby really was. A year later Gretchen Carlson, and later others, went up against Fox News’s Roger Ailes ; her lawsuit was settled for $20 million. Then came the revelation of the Bill O’Reilly settlements.

But Black October for sexual harassers began with the New York Times stories by Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey on Harvey Weinstein’s history of abuses and payoffs, followed by Ronan Farrow’s lengthy investigation in the New Yorker, and then on to other men in show business and the news media.

Something happened. Media outfits made a commitment—expensive in terms of resources, personnel and legal costs—to get the story. What they found was numbers—the sheer number of abusers and the number of accusers who’d testify. They discovered details that established patterns.

This is all good. And one of the things that fell is the phrase “everybody knew.” That is now a self-indicting phrase.

I close with a point that may grate on those who, like me, are glad at what has happened and wish to see just revelations continue.

The challenge is to pursue justice while keeping a sense of humanity. Human-resources departments terrified of costly lawsuits will impose more and stranger rules that won’t necessarily thwart bad guys but will harass good men. This is the way of things. Two recent anecdotes: At a yearly checkup, a male doctor went through his short list of how to stay healthy in New York. It included: don’t stray onto the curb, stay on the sidewalk, keep back from careening trucks that take a corner too tight and knock people down. I got it, I said—I take the arms of cellphone zombies and guide them a step back to keep them safe. I’d done it recently with a young woman. He got a poignant look. “I can’t do that now,” he said. If he put his hand on a strange woman’s arm, it might be misunderstood.

I was told the other day of a news executive who complimented his co-worker on her boots. He was later taken aside by a colleague: You can’t talk like that now! He hurriedly called the woman and apologized: He meant no offense, didn’t mean to sound leering. She said: Are you kidding? I knew it was a compliment, no offense at all.

That was human. Common sense is better than antihuman edicts.

It’s good the pendulum has swung. You want it to hit the bad guys hard, and leave the good ones untouched.

Whether you believe any or all of the allegations against Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore, the establishment/mainstream media’s playbook to thwart the insurgent is being executed by the numbers.

I witnessed firsthand the same methods employed against GOP U.S. Senate nominee Joe Miller while serving as his press secretary in 2010 in Alaska.

The Tea Party favorite shocked the political world when he came out of nowhere to upset incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski and win the Republican primary. Between her and her father Frank, who appointed her to the position after being elected governor in 2002, the Murkowskis had held the seat since the early 1980s.

Miller headed into the general election as the hands-down favorite in red Alaska against the little-known Democrat nominee, Sitka Mayor Scott McAdams. But then, the establishment/media onslaught began.

Both Miller and Murkowski had promised days before primary election day in late August that they would honor the results, but in mid-September, just weeks after losing the race, the senator announced her write-in bid, saying that she was “taking the gloves off.”

Like Moore’s race, the media attacks against Miller followed a familiar pattern: finances; allegations of past unethical, even illegal conduct in relation to his past employment; and accusations against his wife in relation to her employment with him as a judge.

The attacks were very similar to the ones leveled at Moore and his wife Kayla by the Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnnell-affiliated Senate Leadership Fund and The Washington Post in relation to the couple’s non-profit, The Foundation For Moral Law.

Having addressed and weathered all the allegations, and throwing in a bizarre incident in which a Barack Obama-supporting FBI informant took it upon himself to conduct a citizen’s arrest of a reporter at a Miller town hall, the candidates were running neck-and-neck just days before the general election.

Perhaps that’s why the local CBS affiliate KTVA, which had been very hostile toward Miller, hoped they would find a sex scandal to knock the conservative candidate out once and for all.

The weekend before the election, I received a call from Nick McDermott, a producer with the station. It went to voice mail. As Fox News reported, I soon received a text from him in which he wrote, “D— iPhone … I left you a long message. I thought I hung up. Sorry.”

What was captured in the message was part of a strategy meeting ahead of a rally former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin would be headlining that night.

A female reporter or producer is heard yelling, “Child molesters!”

A male reporter responds, “Oh, yes. Can you repeat Joe Miller’s list of people, campaign workers, which one is the molester?”

A female reporter then added, “We know that out of all the people that will show up tonight, at least one of them will be a registered sex offender.”

“We have to find that one person,” a male reporter responds.

A female reporter chimed in, “And the one thing we can do is — we won’t know. We won’t know but if there is any sort of chaos whatsoever, we can put out a Twitter/Facebook alert saying what the — ‘Hey, Joe Miller punched at rally …’”

“Kind of like Rand Paul, I like that,” another replied.

KTVA admitted to the meeting and ultimately fired two of the producers who were part of it; however, one of the station’s anchors, Matt Felling, would go on to become Murkowski’s communications director shortly after she won re-election, 39 percent to Miller’s 35.

Two accusers have come forward in the case of Roy Moore alleging they were sexually assaulted by him in the 1970s.

The candidate has denied the allegations, saying he never even knew the women. The former Alabama chief justice has shown no inclination to exit the race.

McConnell has stated he is actively looking for a write-in candidate to run against Moore and the Democrat.

On his radio program on Tuesday, Rush Limbaugh said McConnell is on a “search-and-destroy mission.”

“Whether Judge Moore did the deed or deeds or not, what’s really happening here folks, if you really want to know — it’s a multi-faceted search-and-destroy mission here,” Limbaugh stated.

“But what’s really driving this — do not doubt me about this. But what’s really driving this is Mitch McConnell saying to Steve Bannon, ‘Really? You think you’re going to get your guys elected? You think you are going to get your guys elected and me kicked out of here? Really? Seriously? OK, watch this,’” he added.

In 2016, the establishment and the media employed the same strategy of trying to make Donald Trump the unacceptable choice in relation to Hillary Clinton, going after his finances in the form of demands that he release his tax returns, allegations of past unethical conduct in relation to his employment, and accusations of sexual harassment and other misconduct.

The efforts, though vigorous, ultimately failed.

Alabama voters will have to decide whether they believe Moore or his accusers, but one thing is certain — the establishment/media playbook to take out a candidate is being executed to a T. This is disgusting. A “feminist” writer has finally said publicly what the worst progressives really think: a Democrat who sexually abuses a woman should be let off the hook because he’s a Democrat.

The blogger, Kate Harding, is “sincerely” making this argument.

Why? Because all men in politics are likely to be sexual abusers. Obviously.

Couldn’t be a B.S. feminist rant without a “Handmaid’s Tale” garbage reference.

Yeah, because incumbent establishment Republicans pulled out all the stops to make sure Donald Trump was elected. Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan were out in front of TV cameras every day trying to make America great again. No, wait, that was Earth-2. Back here in reality, Paul Ryan said he’d stop defending Trump, and Mitch McConnell retreated into his shell during that election.

Aren’t men who would sexually abuse women already sociopaths?

Oh look, concluding with identity politics. That was fun. At least it’s over.

Darn.

THERE IT IS. Removing from office Democrats who abuse women will do “catastrophic damage to our political interests.”

This “feminist” doesn’t care about women. She’s purely political. She puts the priorities of the Democratic Party ahead of the moral responsibility we have to see justice done and victims of sexual abuse defended.

Thursday, Gov. Kay Ivey (R-AL) told CNN at the Republican Governors Association meeting being held in Austin, TX the special election for the U.S. Senate seat formerly held by Jeff Sessions would go as scheduled on December 12.

“The election will be December the 12th, and I will cast my ballot,” Ivey said.

Some have raised the possibility of having Ivey delay the election given that reports have surfaced about Republican Party nominee former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore had allegedly engaged sexual misconduct in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Ivey, a Republican, has not given Moore her endorsement but said that she intended to vote for him.

Moore faces Democrat Doug Jones in the December 12 contest that has tightened in recent days in the heavily Republican state, which some have attributed to the allegations aimed at Moore.

While I believe that we have always had sexual predators in our midst, it seems that all of a sudden they are coming out of the woodwork like cockroaches looking for food.

It started with Harvey Weinstein on October 5th of this year when he was accused of raping three women. Dozens more accused him of lesser charges, including sexual assault and harassment. While he has not denied the lesser charges he does proclaim innocence in the non-consensual sex charges.

We have all heard of the allegations against Weinstein and of course Roy Moore has been all over the news. Most of you probably have heard about the charges brought against Al Franken yesterday of forcibly kissing and groping of a woman before he was a United States Senator. His case is being referred to the Senate Ethics committee. Isn’t that an oxymoron, Senate Ethics?

And I am sure that you will all hear about Sylvester Stallone, who this morning was accused of sexually assaulting a 16 year old girl in Las Vegas in 1980.

But these are just three of 30 different cases of sexual assault or misconduct that have been brought to light since the Weinstein epic that began on October 5.

Andy Signore, senior vice president of content for Defy Media, accused of sexual assault of one woman and harassment of several other. He denies the accusations but was fired from his position.

Roy Price accused of sexual harassment of one woman. He resigned his position.

Chris Savino, creator and showrunner of “The Lord House”, accused of sexual harassment of as many as 12 women. He was fired from his position.

Steve Jurvetson, Co-founder of a venture capital firm and a board member of Tesla and SpaceX. He was accused of sexual misconduct and resigned from his fir and is taking a leave of absence from the boards. He denies the allegations.

 

Eddie Berganza, Editor at DC Comics. He is accused of sexual harassment, including groping and forcibly kissing a woman. He was fired from his position.

Andrew Kreisberg, executive producer of “Arrow”, “Supergirl” and “The Flash”. He was accused of sexual harassment of more than a dozen people. He has been suspended by Warner Bros. Kreisberg denied the allegations although he admitted that he has made comments on women’s clothing and appearance but he insists they were not sexualized.

Louis C.K. comedian and producer. He is accused of sexual misconduct with five women, including exposing himself and masturbating in front of the. FX and other media companies cut ties with him. In a refreshing turn of events he admits that the stories are true, “I have been remorseful of my actions.” He said.

Benjamin Genocchio, executive director of the Armory Show art fair. He is accused of sexual harassment, including unwelcome touching of five women. He has been replaced from his position. He said of the allegations, “To the extent my behavior was perceived as disrespectful, I deeply and sincerely apologize and will ensure it does not happen again.”

Ed Westwick, actor. He is accused of raping two women. His television shows have been postponed and the LAPD is investigating. He denies the allegations.

David Guillod, Co-chief executive of Primary Wave Entertainment agency. He is accused of sexual assault of four women. He has resigned but denies any allegations of non-consensual sex.

Jeff Hoover, Kentucky speaker of the House. He is accused of sexual harassment and inappropriate text messages. He has resigned his leadership position but remains in the Legislature. “I engaged in banter that was consensual but make no mistake it was wrong on my part to do that. And for that, I am truly sorry. I want to reiterate that at no time, at no time did I engage in unwelcome or unwanted conduct of any kind.” He insists.

Brett Ratner, producer and director. Accusations include rape, sexual assault and harassment of six women, including exposing himself and masturbating. He has stepped away from activities related to Warner Bros. His response, “We are confident that his name will be cleared once the current media frenzy dies down and people can objectively evaluate the nature of these claims,” read a statement from and attorney.

Kirt Webster, music publicist. He is accused of sexual assault and harassment, including unwanted touching. He has stepped away from his firm, Webster Public Relations. The statement issued says he has had multiple relationships over the course of his professional life, all of which have been consensual.

Andy Dick, Actor. Accusations in sexual harassment, including groping. He was fired from his current film. “I didn’t grope anybody. I might have kissed somebody on the cheek to say goodbye and then licked them. I’m not trying to sexually harass people.” He said.

Michael Oreskes, Head of news at NPR. He was accused of sexual harassment of three women. He has resigned. “I am deeply sorr to the people I hurt. My behavior was wrong and inexcusable, and I accept full responsibility.” He stated.

Hamilton Fish, President and publisher of “The New Republic. Complaints by female employees but no specific charges were mentioned. He has resigned.

Kevin Spacey, Actor. He is accused of sexual assault of multiple men and sexual misconduct with a minor. He has been suspended from “House of Cards” and cut from other projects. It is reported that he is taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment.

Ken Baker, E! News correspondent. Accused of sexual harassment of two women, including unwanted kissing and inappropriate messages. He was pulled from the air while NBC Universal investigates. His response, “I am very disturbed by these anonymous allegations, which make m heart ache. I take them very seriously.”

Mark Halperin, NBC News and MSNBC contributor, author of “Game Change”. Accused of sexual harassment of at least five women. He was dismissed from MSNBC and NBC News and had upcoming book and HBO adaptation canceled. His response: “I am profoundly sorry for the pain and anguish I have caused by my past actions. I apologize sincerely to the women I mistreated.”

Rick Najera, Director of CBS:s Diversity Showcase. Accused of sexual harassment, including inappropriate comment to performers. He has resigned. His family issued the following statement. “We are heartbroken and confounded by deliberate and cruel defamations.”

Knight Landesman, Publisher of Artforum. Accused of sexual harassment of at least nine women, including groping. He has resigned. “I fully recognize that I have tested certain boundaries, which I am working hard to correct,” he said.

Leon Wieseltier, a former editor at “The New Republic”. Accused of sexual harassment of several women, including inappropriate advances. He has been fired from Emerson Collective, which canceled publication of a magazine he was editing. “For my offenses against some of my colleagues in the past I offer a shaken apology and ask for their forgiveness.” He said.

Terry Richardson, Fashion photographer. Accused of sexual harassment of models. He has been banned from working with Conde Nast. A spokesperson said, “Many of his professional interactions with subjects were sexual and explicit in nature but all of the subjects of his work participated consensually.”

James Toback, director and writer. Accused of sexual harassment and misconduct toward women, including dry-humping or masturbating. After the Los Angeles times published its investigation, hundreds of women reached out to describe their encounters. He has been dropped by his agent. In a profanity laden denial, Toback denied the allegations.

John Besh, Chief executive of the Besh Restaurant Group. Accused of sexual harassment. He has stepped down. His response, “I alone am entirely responsible for my moral failings. This is not the way the head of a company like ours should have acted”

On one hand I am surprised by the sheer number of allegations against powerful men in such a short period of time. On the other I guess I should be surprised that these type of allegations have not been far more prevalent, far sooner. I think that our lack of morals in the entire world can be linked to a lack of religious upbringing. In an effort to be politically correct any mention of God or his Commandments have been forcibly removed from all public settings.

When you take God out of society, evil fills the void.
