Despicable Nebraska Democrat Says He’s ‘F**King Glad’ Scalise Got Shot

A Nebraska Democratic Party (NDP) operative has been fired from his position on the Technology Committee of the of the NDP after recorded audio appeared in which he says he was “f***ing glad” that Congressman Steve Scalise, R-La., was shot and that he wishes Scalise “was f***ing dead.”

Phil Montag, the state party’s technology committee co-chairman, was recorded saying “I’m glad he got shot” and “I wish he was f***ing dead” during a private meeting with NDP Black Caucus Chair Chelsey Gentry-Tipton that was recorded.

Rep. Scalise was shot during a targeted attack on GOP members of Congress in Alexandria, Va., in mid-June by radical leftist James T. Hodgkinson, who wanted to kill Republicans. Gentry-Tipton has come under fire herself after she made comments on Facebook that she thought it was “funny” that Republicans were “crying” after Scalise and four others were injured.

In the wake of the released audio, NDP Chairwoman Jane Kleeb removed Montag from his position with the state party.

“I apologize to all the Democrats who now have to answer at the sale barn or hair salon what is wrong with the direction of politics,” Kleeb told the Lincoln Journal Star.

“The hateful rhetoric has no place in the Democratic Party and does not represent the values of Democrats across our state and country who lift up working-class families every day.”

Reached for comment by Conservative Review, Kleeb said “The amount of heated political rhetoric is dangerous and reckless.”

Montag denied wishing that Scalise was dead, arguing to the Omaha World-Herald Thursday that his words had been taken out of context.

“Like every decent American I am saddened and horrified by the shooting of Congressman Scalise,” Montag told the paper by email. “I do not and did not wish for his death. I am hopeful that the entirety of the original, unedited recording will emerge so we can get to the truth of the matter.”

The Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy has been on life support for weeks now, half-heartedly propped up by a few Democrats and their Leftmedia allies, but after a fourth straight special election loss, some Democrats are suggesting pulling the plug on their scandal narrative. It has now become unquestionably apparent that the Democrats' strategy of employing a scorched-earth anti-Trump obstructionist tactic is failing, and failing miserably. In fact, as Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) observed, "Our brand is worse than Trump."
          Democrats are now in the midst of a strategy pivot, not uncommon in the game of politics. As with any competition, those who find themselves losing the game must change tactics or risk greater defeat. With Donald Trump's surprising election victory, Democrats were caught flat-footed, but they refused to relinquish the fight for the White House. They opted to double down on attacking Trump with the goal of delegitimizing his presidency at the very least and publicly entertaining the possibility of Nixon-like scandal leading to impeachment. This was a poor play on their part and served only to act as a distraction to the MSM, themselves and their constituents while exposing them to the majority of America as sore losers interested primarily in clawing for power.
          Now Democrats are stepping out to do damage control. Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) noted this week, "The fact that we had spent so much time talking about Russia ... has been a distraction from what should be the clear contrast between Democrats and the Trump agenda, which is on economics." Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-NY) reiterated this talking point saying, "The shiny object which is Russia and the Trump administration is in many ways a smokescreen for Mitch McConnell and the Senate to do things they probably wouldn't be able to get away with if the public and media were paying more attention. We're guilty of that to some degree."
          Democrats are also working to pull the plug on their impeachment narrative, realizing it has only served to expose them as being blind partisans and uninterested in abiding by the choice of the people. So, how do Democrats back off their calls for impeaching Trump without giving ground on their anti-Trump bias? They vilify Vice President Mike Pence. Hence this statement from Sen. Al Franken: "Pence ran the transition and some of the very worst nominees, I felt ... were Pence selections, clearly, I think. He's ideological, I consider him a zealot, and I think that in terms of a lot of domestic policy certainly would be worse than Trump." A convenient excuse, but make no mistake, if they really had enough evidence to impeach Trump they'd do it in a heartbeat.

{townhall.com} ~ I think it was mildly amusing that some loud right-wingers spent a minute disrupting a bunch of New York liberals’ conservative murder porn party.


There, I said it. And now, according to some people on the conservative side, I’m not a conservative anymore.

Oh. Well, if conservatism has morphed into a human centipede of onanistic purity-signaling, then you fussy guardians of the word can have it.

Now, there is a coherent and reasonable argument that hitting back liberals with a taste of their own medicine – that is, inflicting upon them a microscopic fraction of what they have spent decades inflicting upon us – is a bad idea. People I respect and who are friends adhere to this view. I’ve listened to their opinions – because they have earned my attention – and they are wrong.

Note that yes, we are allowed to disagree within conservatism.
 
Now, a few people I don’t respect also say the disruption was terrible, mostly because they are weak and scared because, in our new conservative world, they have been displaced by more interesting and influential talents who are committed to actually achieving results. Conservatism, Inc., is no longer dedicated solely to securing these timeservers’ mediocre status within the NY/DC establishment hierarchy, and they are understandably frightened of facing a future where mere posturing doesn’t get enough folks writing checks. People got woke because when it came time to fight the same leftist Democrat they had allegedly been fighting for decades, the wimpcons embraced her. After all, she went to the right schools, and under her they would be able to return to their comfortable, if ineffectual, positions in the political scheme of things. And that uncouth Trump – well, he and his supporters are just the wrong kind of people.

Regardless, it was appropriate and conservative to chastise the murder fetishizers at the Trump killing play. And you wusscons – don’t start with the, “Well, it’s a play and you don’t understand literature, and the whole butchering the president thing is art which you obviously don’t understand” baloney. Without their POTUS-murdering dog whistle, this would just be another bunch of theater geeks putting on a show. They are rubbing their violent threats in our faces while gaslighting us to the effect that we shouldn’t believe our own lying eyes.

Now, the good faith critique of the disruption, the one not made by conservatism’s Sore Loser League, is that we don’t silence presentations, that we don’t inject the political into the personal, and that we don’t interfere with free speech. Simply because liberals do all those things does not mean we should too. That’s true, to a point.

But let’s look at what actually happened. Some sort-of goofy people infiltrated the Murder/Trump staging of Julius Caesar and started yelling about how these giddy liberals needed to stop celebrating political violence, especially after one of their liberal ilk tried to butcher two dozen GOP legislators a few days before. They didn’t shut down the show – they paused it, for about a minute. After the main one was hustled off-stage, some guy started shouting about how the audience was “Goebbels,” which was embarrassingly silly. Then they followed it up with a lot of whining about being arrested, apparently not understanding how civil disobedience works. So, the initial stage rush was amusing and effective – a measured and short-term protest that did not prevent the moronic staging from continuing. The rest though, as Saul Alinsky warned, became a drag.

Overall, give it a B-. Next time, make your point and move on.

And yes, there should be a next time. There is a case for this sort of activity. It’s just not something we have done much of to date, but we should do more.

First, the “If it’s wrong for them to do it to us, then it’s wrong if we do it to them” formulation is less a principle than a tired cliché. This minor disruption was a tactic; shouting was a tool. It is moral for the good guys – and we are the good guys – to use tactics and tools against an enemy that are immoral when they do it. It was immoral for the Nazis to bomb London; it was moral for us to bomb Nazis. Of course every tactic and tool is not acceptable, but the guys who stormed Omaha Beach did not “become what they were fighting” because they used the same tools and tactics as the enemy.

Second, this sort of performance art is so harmless that the cost/benefit calculus weighs in favor of tolerating such occasional inconveniences. That’s not to say we should not impose higher costs on them – we disapprove of the firing of people for what they say, but Kathy Griffin’s defenestration was a sacrifice worth making to demonstrate the costs of liberal misbehavior. This is crucial. They must pay a cost for establishing their new rules.

Call it retribution or punishment or just payback, but causing pain to wrongdoers is a conservative principle we seem to have forgotten. The left needs to feel the pain that comes from their choices. If they want a world where people suffer for speaking, well, I prefer they didn’t, but I damn well know that if that’s the new rule, their side is going to get it shoved down their throat.

Yes, there is a slippery slope risk. I’ve seen it overseas, where the rule of law was replaced by the rule of power. But we will slip down that slope if we do not grab on up at the top. People are not going to sit back and take this leftist abuse and allow them to impose their leftist tyranny upon us without reacting. If we don’t stop the left now from taking this dangerous path – including by using tools like harmless civil disobedience – then that weakness, as my novels illustrate, invites real conflict with real bloodshed. And we can’t let that happen.

Finally, if our principles are worth having, they are worth fighting for in a way that might conceivably lead to success. One of the folks telling me how wrong and unconservative I am for finding it amusing – a patriot, though wrong – also mentioned that he had been fighting for free speech on campus and in the culture for 20 years. Hmmm. I’ve been fighting for them for 30 years, ever since my dean at UCSD called me in to yell at me because I wrote that the student government was composed of leftist dweebs. Shouldn’t the fact that we have spent decades using the same tactics and losing indicate that maybe we ought to try something new?

Are we going to reason the left out of its ruthless quest for absolute power? Are we going to talk them into civility? Is our sterling example of high principles – which apparently include never, ever, for even a moment, annoying leftists by interrupting their bloody assassination festivals – leading to anything but defeat?

At Fort Benning, they didn’t teach us to lose.

That’s why I reject any principle that somehow obligates me to submit to the left’s tyranny. If your principles told you we had to elect Felonia von Pantsuit and allow her to complete the transformation of the United States into Venezuela II, maybe that’s a sign you need some new principles.

{townhall.com} ~ I was surprised last weekend when one of President Donald Trump's lawyers told my colleague Chris Wallace twice on "Fox News Sunday" that the president is being investigated by the FBI and then told him twice that he is not. This same lawyer repeated the "not being investigated" argument on a half-dozen other Sunday shows but did not repeat the "is being investigated" remark.

This produced substantial consternation in the news media and at the White House, since the president himself had tweeted over the weekend that he is being investigated for firing FBI Director James Comey by the same person -- Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein -- who recommended Comey's firing and that the investigation is a "witch hunt."

So, who is correct, the president or his lawyer? Is the president under criminal investigation by the FBI? If he is being investigated as he claims, is the investigation a witch hunt? Here is the back story.

When Donald Trump began running for the Republican nomination for president in June 2015 and made novel arguments indicating that his view was that Europe should essentially pay for its own military defense, this triggered concern in European capitals, and it resulted in the commencement of now well-documented British surveillance of Trump and his principal adviser on national security matters, retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn. The foreign surveillance was eventually passed on to American spies, who acceded to demands from the West Wing of the liar-nObama White House and handed over transcripts of conversations and names of participants.

This went on throughout the presidential campaign and into the transition period after Trump had been elected. President Barack liar-nObama's national security adviser, Susan Rice, recently confirmed that she ordered transcripts of surveilled conversations and names of participants -- this is called "unmasking" in intelligence community lingo -- and James Clapper, the liar-nObama administration's director of national intelligence, recently acknowledged under oath the existence of the foreign and domestic surveillance of Trump in 2015 and 2016, as well as the unmasking.

One of the unmasked conversations handed over to Rice was between Flynn and the Russian ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Kislyak. Portions of that conversation were leaked to The Washington Post, and that generated interest in the relationship, if any, of the Trump campaign and transition team to the Russian government. This provoked a preliminary FBI investigation into Flynn. Flynn apparently was interviewed by the FBI while ignorant of the FBI's possession of transcripts of his conversations with Kislyak. If Flynn lied in that interview as has been reported and speculated in the press, he committed a felony. When Trump learned Flynn had lied to others, he fired Flynn.

Flynn's firing ratcheted up the investigation of him, as well as the investigation of whether anyone from the Trump campaign had assisted Russian intelligence agents in hacking into computers in America in order to affect the outcome of the election. When Trump asked then-FBI Director Comey whether he, Donald J. Trump, was being investigated by the FBI, Comey thrice said no. That was, no doubt, true at the time. The Trump campaign and the Trump transition team were being investigated, but not Trump personally.

Then the president, according to Comey, asked Comey to drop the investigation into whether Flynn had lied to FBI agents and others. Then, according to Comey, the president suggested to him that he could keep his job as FBI director if he dropped the Flynn investigation. Then the president fired Comey.

After Comey released a portion of a memo containing his recollections of his conversations with Trump, Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller as independent prosecutor to investigate and charge, if appropriate, anyone criminally implicated in the Flynn investigation, the investigation of Russian attempts to influence the 2016 election, the investigation of whether any assistance was provided to the Russians by any Americans, and all related matters.

Because Comey presented a credible case for the possibility that the president interfered with a federal criminal investigation, Mueller no doubt is investigating that as one of the related matters. In that respect, President Trump is under investigation by the FBI, which seeks to determine whether he attempted to influence a federal criminal investigation for a corrupt purpose.

Yet as a sitting president, Trump cannot be indicted for any criminal behavior committed while in office. Hence he cannot be a "target" of an FBI investigation. I use the word "target" in quotation marks because it has a technical meaning -- namely, that the Department of Justice plans to seek an indictment. So though it is true that the president is being investigated by the FBI, it is also true that he is not a target of that investigation.

Of what value is a criminal investigation of a person if that person cannot be charged criminally? Can't the president fire an FBI director without fear of a criminal investigation of his purposes? Can't he order the cessation of a criminal investigation without fearing that the FBI will investigate the reasons for his order?

Sometimes criminal investigations exonerate a person, and the FBI, without fanfare, will just drop it. In the case of the president, any evidence of guilt will go to the House Judiciary Committee, not a grand jury, as the constitutional remedy for presidential criminal behavior is impeachment, not indictment. Of course, the president can fire a director of the FBI for any non-corrupt reason, but if he does so after a rejected quid pro quo as Comey has publicly claimed that Trump did, that can trigger the woes Trump now endures.

We live in perilous times -- times that demand fidelity to first principles. The core of those principles is the rule of law: No one is beneath laws' protections, and no one is above their requirements. No one.

In January, our Thomas Gallatin explored a deeply troubling question that threatens the integrity of this nation's electoral system: "Just how much voting fraud does exist?" Nobody can say for certain. As Gallatin pointed out, "If no comprehensive investigations are done, then the argument merely continues to be the spitting contest it currently has become." That's what prompted Donald Trump to form the Presidential Commission on Election Integrity. The commission is evaluating both voter fraud and voter suppression.
          Democrats clamor a lot over the latter, with liar-Hillary Clinton even going so far as to blame voter suppression for November's humiliating defeat. (That and the Russians, of course.) But leftists don't share the same concern when it comes to voter fraud. No wonder then there was an uproar when Trump suggested that somewhere between three and five million illegal votes were potentially cast during the 2016 election. There's no immediately available proof, of course, but that's a claim the commission can and should examine. After all, independent evidence suggests Trump's assertion is not rooted in hyperbole.
          According to The Washington Times, "The research organization Just Facts ... revealed its number-crunching in a report on national immigration. Just Facts President James D. Agresti and his team looked at data from an extensive Harvard/YouGov study that every two years questions a sample size of tens of thousands of voters. ... He estimated that as many as 7.9 million noncitizens were illegally registered [in 2008] and 594,000 to 5.7 million voted. ... For 2012, Just Facts said, 3.2 million to 5.6 million noncitizens were registered to vote and 1.2 million to 3.6 million of them voted."
          Assuming these statistics are anywhere near accurate, it's not a stretch at all to suggest, as Trump did, that up to five million illegal immigrants voted for liar-Hillary Clinton. It's possible it was even higher. This is the kind of information the Left wants kept in the dark. There's no telling what the Presidential Commission on Election Integrity will conclude. But based on what a growing number of studies are discovering, don't be surprised if it finds that significant voter fraud exists to the extent Just Facts suspects.

{wnd.com} ~ There is a subtle dynamic in play of which Americans need to be aware, and which I believe will be singularly enlightening with regard to the machinations of two of our most potent enemies: The political left and Islamism. This pertains to calls for an attenuation of harsh political rhetoric in the wake of the recent shooting rampage that left Rep. Steve Scalise, R-L.A., and four others wounded, and the actions of Muslims following a spate of what are being called terrorist attacks in the United Kingdom and Europe, though not all of these actually qualify as terrorism.

The tension was almost palpable on the part of liberal and conservative politicos and pundits in the hours prior to James Hodgkinson being named as the perpetrator of the June 14 shootings in Virginia. Had Hodgkinson turned out to be a creature of the political right, of course we would have been treated to gleeful, self-satisfied oratory from leftists affirming that private ownership of firearms should be outlawed, right-wingers possess innate homicidal tendencies, and that such violence could only have been catalyzed by the political ascendency of that horrible scoundrel in the White House, Donald Trump.

Once it had been determined that Hodgkinson was in fact a rabid leftist, the cry went up for both Democrats and Republicans to tone down their rhetoric. Although this is being articulated primarily by those on the left, even some like conservative firebrand rocker Ted Nugent stated late last week that he would moderate his public message.

This made me wonder: When Democrat and liberal leaders state that we need to employ less incendiary rhetoric, to whom are they speaking? Is this “we” to whom they refer the “royal ‘we,'” or are they speaking to the ultra-liberal base of the Democratic Party? Certainly they aren’t addressing liberals and conservatives alike, because it hasn’t been conservatives and Republicans advocating for the beating, maiming and killing of President Trump and others among their political opponents – it is only prominent liberals and Democrats who have done so, and with great relish.

In Britain, we’ve seen several terrorist attacks perpetrated by Islamists since the beginning of the year. Then, early this week, 47-year-old Briton Darren Osborne allegedly drove a truck into a crowd of Muslims leaving Ramadan prayers at a London mosque. The attack left at least one person dead and 10 injured. Days earlier in the Swedish city of Malmö, an alleged neo-Nazi drove a vehicle into a group of Iraqi refugees protesting that nation’s asylum laws.

In the latter two incidents, authorities were quick to designate these as acts of terrorism, employing such terms as “Islamophobia” and “right-wing extremism.” The communities of Muslim emigrés in these nations took on the mantle of victimhood with equal alacrity, decrying the perils of their lot and the “racism” actually anti-Muslim sentiment, since Islam is not a racial designation of the West. They found a great deal of sympathy in the Western press, which provided them with an abundance of forums in which to air their grievances.

I believe that Republicans and conservatives taking the left’s faux chagrin at face value and validating their counterfeit idiomatic peace offerings are the height of folly. It is also quite curious that the alleged peaceful majority of Muslims residing in the West who so seldom condemn terrorist acts carried out in the name of Islam never seem to be quite as scarce when it comes to condemning such deeds as those of Darren Osborne, which could easily have been the frustrated, desperate actions of a citizen who simply got fed up with his countrymen being targeted by an insidious invading force and political leaders enabling same.

In a fistfight or in war, one does not submit to the entreaties of an opponent who executes a successful attack and then falls back to regroup. If one is able, one executes a counterattack. While I am not advocating an in-kind response to the June 14 shooting or violent acts perpetrated by Islamists, our enemies do need to be put on notice that their actions will not be tolerated in the long term.

It bears mentioning that despite the bogus regret being expressed by those on the left, high-profile liberals have not ceased their provocative rhetoric since the Virginia shooting. This speaks to the lack of restraint many liberals possess, as well as underscoring the deep hatred they have for Republicans and conservatives.

Actor and homosexual activist George Takei – who has become a really creepy old guy regardless of sexual orientation – claimed that Rep. Scalise owed his rescue to an heroic lesbian D.C. police officer. On Saturday, MSNBC host Joy Ann Reid condemned the House Majority whip’s political positions on liar-nObamacare, gay rights and race, then went on to mischaracterize Scalise’s stance on those very issues.

The subversive antics of the liar-nObama administration and its Eurozone and Islamist allies gave rise to a great deal of discussion amongst conservative pundits regarding collusion between the political left and Islamists. “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” encapsulates the dynamic in play here; leftists and Islamists are indeed working in tandem to bring down Western republics and democracies, each believing that they will be able to control or subjugate the other after this is accomplished. Thus, it is no surprise that the two groups are engaging in the same passive-aggressive behavior.

Republican Karen Handel defeated Democrat Jon Ossoff in Tuesday's special election for Georgia's Sixth Congressional District, in what was both the most expensive and most watched congressional campaign in history. The victory is astounding given the "pollaganda effect" — the heavy media coverage in the last two weeks giving Ossoff the lead. It's a replay of how wrong the DemoMSM propagandists were in 2016.
          Astoundingly, there was more than $50 million spent in this election by the candidates and special interest groups — $20 million more than the previous congressional record. Ossoff, who collected most of his funding from rich liberals in California and Massachusetts, outspent Handel 7-1 — and still couldn't pull it off.
          Democrats insisted, right up until Handel's victory, that this election was a referendum on Donald Trump, but it is more a referendum on the Democrats' failure to understand Americans outside the Beltway and their elitist East Coast urban centers. By Louis DeBroux:  In somewhat of a surprise announcement, the Supreme Court agreed Monday to review a Wisconsin case to determine whether gerrymandered congressional district maps violate the Constitution's 1st and 14th Amendments. The Court has traditionally avoided such cases, deeming them the purview of the political branches. The outcome could have a tremendous impact on the American electoral process.
          Those who are not political or history wonks may be unfamiliar with the term "gerrymandering." The term was first used in the March 26, 1812, edition of the Boston Gazette. A portmanteau of "Gerry" and "salamander," it was used to describe the Massachusetts state Senate districts that were drawn by the Democratic-Republicans under Governor Elbridge Gerry, in which his party successfully created election districts that stayed in his party's hands despite losing the state House and governorship. One of these districts resembled the shape of the mythical salamander.
          In the Wisconsin case, a dozen plaintiffs from across the state claimed "Republican legislative leaders authorized a secretive and exclusionary mapmaking process aimed at securing for their party a large advantage that would persist no matter what happened in future elections." A three-judge panel ruled last year in the plaintiffs' favor, declaring the Republican redistricting plan was partisan enough to effectively disenfranchise some voters. The state of Wisconsin has appealed this ruling to the Supreme Court.
          Notably, this case was not brought before the federal courts until July 2015, after Republicans had taken control of state government from the Democrats. Wisconsin has long been a Democrat stronghold which, until Donald Trump narrowly won in 2016, had not voted for a Republican for president since Ronald Reagan won the state. Wisconsin's state-level gains for the GOP are a microcosm of America generally, where Republicans made tremendous advances. During Barack liar-nObama's disastrous tenure, the GOP picked up nearly a thousand state legislative seats, control of two-thirds of state legislative chambers, 63 House seats, and 10 U.S. Senate seats. The Democrat Party is at its weakest electoral position in nearly a century, and is desperate for a way to reverse these losses.
          The courts have largely refused to intervene in gerrymandering disputes in the past, primarily because the drawing of such districts is an inherently political act. For the courts to intervene would be to substitute the opinion of the judiciary for the opinion of the elected branches. As Supreme Court Justice Felix Frankfurter warned in Colegrove v. Green (1946), "Courts ought not to enter this political thicket. ... The fulfillment of this duty cannot be judicially enforced."
          When the Court has chosen to invalidate redistricting lines in the past, it has generally done so based on the claim that the lines in question disenfranchise minority voters — that was the case just last month with two North Carolina districts. However, these cases have been few and far between. In the other most recent case — 2004's Vieth v. Jubelirer — a 5-4 majority rejected plaintiffs' claims, unable to delineate where normal "to the victor goes the spoils" redistricting stopped and disenfranchisement began.
          Interestingly, members of the minority party often work with the majority in gerrymandering districts. While the minority party will stay in the minority, its members are drawn into increasingly safe districts, protecting them from general election challenges.
          It should also be noted that both parties have engaged in such gerrymandering for more than two centuries. Even now, in addition to the Wisconsin case, a challenge to the congressional districts drawn by Maryland's Democrats is being heard by the lower courts.
          Gerrymandering doesn't always work out for the victors though. Following the 2000 census, Georgia Democrats — with absolute control of state government since Reconstruction — gerrymandered congressional districts so "nakedly partisan" a three-judge panel modified them. In 2002, voters, furious at Democrats, elected Republican Sonny Perdue as governor, and awarded the state Senate to Republicans. The next election saw Republicans win the House. Republicans now hold supermajorities in the state House and Senate, and control every constitutional office in the state.
          In these gerrymandering challenges, a move is being made to have the courts strip the power to draw districts from the elected branches and hand it to an independent panel, such as a board of retired judges equally representing both parties. Both sides have valid arguments.
          On the one hand, gerrymandering has led to safely partisan but politically polarized districts where both parties tend to cater to their base. This has made it increasingly difficult for parties to find common ground on any issues. While the Republican Party has its share of moderates, it is generally a conservative party. The Democrat Party is even more partisan, and virtually no politician supporting tax or spending cuts, or declaring themselves pro-life, can expect to survive long in that party.
          On the other hand, the Constitution grants power to draw district lines exclusively to the elected branches, and to change the foundational structure of our government is not to be taken lightly.

The recent terror attacks in London have re-energized the debate over the term “radical Islam,” but not among student interviewed, nearly all of whom insisted that it is “wrong” to employ the phrase.
Campus Reform Curious to know where college students would come down on the matter, Campus Reform headed to Washington, D.C. to ask students at George Washington University a simple question: “Should we use the phrase ‘Radical Islam,’ or is it too offensive?” Quickly, it became clear that students found the phrase abrasive and unnecessary.
 
Another student objected that “the term ‘radical’ isn’t often assigned to any other religion; it’s only used with Islam,” but when pressed to name any terrorist attacks committed in the name of other religions, the student conceded that “I can’t name any off the top of my head, actually.”

MILWAUKEE — Charges have been filed against a man accused of making threats at the U.S. Courthouse near Jefferson and Wisconsin on Thursday, June 15th. The incident led to a traffic mess in downtown Milwaukee as several streets near the courthouse were shut down, and the courthouse itself, along with other businesses in the area, were evacuated.

The accused is 32-year-old Mohamad Hamdan of Milwaukee. He faces one felony count of “terrorist threats” and two misdemeanor counts of bail jumping.

According to a criminal complaint, on June 15th, officials were dispatched to the U.S. Courthouse after a report of “a subject fighting a U.S. Marshal.” A security officer at the courthouse told investigators shortly before 11:00 a.m., a suspect, later identified as Hamdan, parked his vehicle in front of the courthouse and walked into the building. Once inside “he began yelling loudly in an Arabic language,” saying things like “Mohammed,” “Allah,” “jihad” and “Malakum.” He asked “Where are the Marshals?” When asked where he needed to be, he said “I am a Marshal.” When asked for identification, he began yelling “Ji-ha” and “Malakum.”

When he suddenly placed his right hand into his pocket, he “caused security to fear for their immediate safety,” the complaint says. He was approached by a courthouse security officer who demanded he back up, and exit the building, and U.S. Marshals were contacted for assistance.

When a U.S. Marshal asked the suspect whether he had any business at the courthouse, he responded by calling the Marshal the “N-word,” the complaint says. The U.S. Marshal tried to escort the man out, but he moved closer to the inside of the building. The Marshal eventually got him out of the building — to the front steps of the courthouse. There, he “began pacing back and forth,” yelling “in an Arabic language and also in English.” He told the Marshals “(expletive) you guys,” and called them the “N-word.” The complaint says the suspect appeared to be talking on a cell phone — which was later recovered, and it was determined that it hadn’t been powered on.

The complaint says Hamdan was told to leave multiple times — told he would be arrested if he refused. He eventually went to his van, and with the driver’s side window down, he “continued to yell in another language with English words interspersed” — specifically yelling “(expletive) you. I’m gonna kill you all. Allah. Bomb.” When he said “bomb,” a decision was made to identify him. When asked for identification, the complaint says Hamdan said “no” and started his van.

When asked to stop, the complaint says Hamdan looked at officials and tried pulling away. A Marshal was able to pull him from the vehicle, and the complaint says he “resisted, began to fight and refused to be handcuffed.” He was directed to the ground on Wisconsin Avenue where he was handcuffed.

Traffic was blocked on Wisconsin Avenue, in both directions in front of the courthouse and for one block on Jefferson Street to enable a bomb-sniffing dog and “Hazardous Device Unit” to check the suspect’s van for explosives.

Additionally, the courthouse was partially evacuated during this incident, along with several businesses in the area. The complaint notes that “citizens attempting to utilize this area were vastly inconvenienced because they did not have access for over two hours before the streets were reopened.”

According to the complaint, Hamdan in 2016 and 2017 was charged with misdemeanor battery (domestic abuse), disorderly conduct (domestic abuse) and bail jumping (domestic abuse) — a condition of his bond that he commit no further crimes.

“Haroun Bouazzi, co-president of the Association of Muslims and Arabs for a Secular Quebec, said..expecting the community to detect a lone wolf who buys a knife and travels to Michigan is asking a lot…’This person had an understanding of his faith that allowed him to kill people.’…Bouazzi said that instead of dwelling on the responsibility of Muslim leaders to prevent extremism, Couillard’s government should be tackling the exclusion of young Muslims that can lead to radicalization. ‘If somebody has to take responsibility for prevention, it’s the government,’ he said.”

Bouazzi does not explain how Ftouhi got “an understanding of his faith that allowed him to kill people.” Was it in a mosque in Quebec? Nor did he explain why the government has the responsibility to do something about this, but the Muslim community doesn’t. How can the Quebec government, a non-Muslim entity, change Muslims’ understanding of their faith?

Note that his declaration that “Couillard’s government should be tackling the exclusion of young Muslims that can lead to radicalization” is based on the assumption that has been discredited in numerous studies, that poverty and lack of opportunity leads to terrorism. It is essentially a veiled attempt at extortion, an attempt to compel the Quebec government to shower millions of dollars on the Muslim community, in the vain hope that it will eradicated jihad terrorism by doing so.

Couillard is to be commended for speaking an obvious truth that few dare to enunciate. Let’s hope he stands his ground.

“Unfortunately, you cannot disconnect this type of event – terrorism – from Islam in general,” Couillard said in Quebec City when asked if he was worried the attack would fuel anti-Muslim sentiment. He said he shares the position French President Emmanuel Macron expressed this week in a speech to Muslim community leaders.

“He told them, it’s also your responsibility to act on the theological front, to explain to your people that this (terrorism) is not part of the religion, that it is contrary to the teachings of the religion. There is a dual responsibility,” Couillard said….

Couillard said his government is “completely against” intolerance and discrimination, but there are fears among Quebec Muslims that the latest attack and the premier’s reaction will feed a backlash.

“With remarks like this, saying Islam cannot be disconnected from terrorism, Mr. Couillard is pouring oil on the fire,” said Eve Torres, co-ordinator of a group that works to integrate Muslim women into Quebec society. “He is premier, and not only is he saying Islam and terrorism are inseparable, he says the responsibility for terrorism falls also on the Muslim community. It endangers communities that are already stigmatized.”

Haroun Bouazzi, co-president of the Association of Muslims and Arabs for a Secular Quebec, said community members have for years been working to combat radicalization. When young Quebecers seeking to join the jihad are arrested, it is usually an imam or family member who has tipped off police, he said.

But expecting the community to detect a lone wolf who buys a knife and travels to Michigan is asking a lot, he said.

“This person had an understanding of his faith that allowed him to kill people. That is obviously the reality, and we cannot bring back the words of ‘Allahu akbar’ inside his mouth. He actually yelled that,” Bouazzi said.

“But to link this fact and the responsibility of Muslim communities to play a special role more than any normal citizen is actually stigmatizing.”

Couillard was inspired by a speech Macron gave before the French Council of the Muslim Faith Tuesday night at a meal to break the Ramadan fast.

“It is up to you, religious leaders, to fight toe to toe on theological and religious terrain, to expose the usurping of your values, the appropriation of your religion’s history, the negation of 15 centuries of interpretation work done by your scholars,” Macron said. He added, “The battle of thought and faith must be fought on the ground, especially among the younger generations.”

Last week, Statistics Canada published data showing a sharp increase in hate crimes against Muslims in Quebec — even before taking into account the January attack on a Quebec City mosque that killed six. Bouazzi and Torres were among a group of Muslim activists who called on the government to deliver promised programs to combat racism.

Bouazzi said that instead of dwelling on the responsibility of Muslim leaders to prevent extremism, Couillard’s government should be tackling the exclusion of young Muslims that can lead to radicalization. “If somebody has to take responsibility for prevention, it’s the government,” he said.

Khalid Sulaiman Bilal, 24, was arrested on March 25, accused of threatening people in a Muncie, Indiana, Goodwill store. Police said Bilal was “forcibly” trying to convert shoppers to Islam, Fox 59 reported.

Bilal, charged with 15 crimes, reportedly threatened shoppers, resisted arrest, attacked police, and choked a store clerk, the Muncie Star Press reported.

In March, Fox 59 described the incident vividly:

Bilal allegedly entered the store and began forcefully trying to convert people to Islam while claiming to be the Prophet Muhammad and trying to place his hands on them. He struck and strangled an employee and told her he would kill her if she didn’t convert to Islam. He attacked responding officers, breaking one of the officer’s hands and repeatedly kicking the other. During the scuffle, Bilal yelled “Allahu Akbar,” a phrase meaning “God is greater” and commonly used by Islamic radicals before a violent attack, according to an affidavit filed by Homeland Security.

The Supreme Court ruled in an unanimous 8-0 decision Monday to strike down the Patent and Trademark Office's denial of trademark for an offensive band name. The case in question was brought by the Asian-American band The Slants, who had been denied a trademark on the basis that their name was deemed disparaging and offensive. The government argued that trademarks did not fall under First Amendment protections of free speech because they weren't private speech — in fact, that a trademark is government sanctioned speech. Therefore, the government argued, when the government reviews trademark applications it is free to deny granting them based on what it deems offensive or disparaging.
          Thankfully, the Supreme Court correctly saw the government's contorted rationale for what it was — a justification to deny freedom of speech. Justice Samuel Alito stated, "We have said time and again that 'the public expression of ideas may not be prohibited merely because the ideas are themselves offensive to some of their hearers.'" He continued, "We now hold that this provision violates the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment. It offends a bedrock First Amendment principle: Speech may not be banned on the ground that it expresses ideas that offend."
          Not only is the Supreme Court's ruling good news for The Slants, but it holds positive implications for the National Football League's Washington Redskins. In 2014, the Patent and Trademark Office canceled the trademark on the team's name because it deemed "Redskins" to be "disparaging" to Native Americans. Lost on the social justice warrior yahoos is that no one names their team something they find disparaging. The Redskins' appeal is currently stuck in the Fourth Circuit Court, but this ruling should inform the lower court's decision.
          Americans should rejoice over the fact that freedom of speech has been protected from those who would seek to prevent it, no matter how "noble" their cause may have been. And this should be a reminder that there will always be those who will seek through the power of government to silence the speech of those with whom they find offense or disagreement.

{townhall.com} ~ Although longtime Democrat voter and Bernie Sanders supporter James Hodgkinson is the one who pulled the trigger at the GOP batting practice in Alexandria, Va. on June 14, the Democratic Party and its leftist media sidekicks should take a long look in the mirror.

They are not without fault, given their relentless spewing of hate-filled propaganda framing President Trump as a Russian Hitler, his supporters as racists and Nazis and Republican lawmakers as evil villains who want people to die.

Garbage in, garbage out. No wonder Hodgkinson went postal.

Those calling for unity should understand unity is impossible unless those smarmy swamp dwellers slither their way out of the sludge and cap off the sewage they have been gushing since Trump’s inauguration.

Until they do, leftists will do what leftists do, communicating their opinions and demonstrating their frustrations by breaking and burning things…or going on Hodgkinson-style shooting sprees…or stabbing police horses with nail-embedded flagpoles like one did in Harrisburg, Pa.

Every time the swamp princess herself, Nancy Pulosi, opens her mouth, she inspires normal Americans to donate campaign dollars and dash to the polls to support anyone but Democrats. Pulosi’s latest tasteless word salad came barely 24 hours after the Alexandria shooting when she said Republicans are “sanctimonious” for blaming the left for inciting violence.

Leftists inciting violence? Let me un-sanctimoniously count the ways.

Art Institute of Washington’s Professor John Griffin commented on a since-deleted Facebook post that Republicans in the House of Representatives “should be lined up and shot” for passing the American Heath Care Act to fix liar-nObamacare. Griffin stressed, “That’s not hyperbole; blood is on their hands.”

The Washington Times reports a California State University lecturer, Lars Maischak, tweeted: “To save American democracy, Trump must hang. The sooner and the higher, the better.” He also tweeted: “Has anyone started soliciting money and design drafts for a monument honoring the Trump assassin, yet?”

If this kind of hate-filled vitriol falls on the wrong ears, it could be interpreted as a dog whistle to people like Hodgkinson or the crazy Bernie Sanders and Jill Stein supporter in Portland, Oregon who yelled at two Muslims then slit their defenders' throats.

Hodgkinson was reportedly a member of a Facebook group called “Terminate the Republican Party.” After the shooting, some fellow members celebrated a now-deleted post preserved in a screen catch by the Daily Caller which read, “And it’s one, two, three shots you’re out at the old ball game.”

Shortly after the shooting, Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) received a threatening email with the subject line reading “One down, 216 to go.” “Did you NOT expect this? When you take away ordinary peoples very lives in order to pay off the wealthiest among us, your own lives are forfeit,” the sender wrote.

Meanwhile, in Virginia, police blanketed a town hall meeting for Rep. Tom Garrett (R-Va.) after he received threats targeting Garrett, his family and even his dog. “This is how we’re going to kill your wife,” read one threat.

Tuscson.com reports the FBI arrested a school employee for threatening to shoot U.S. Rep. Martha McSally and other voicemail messages warning her to “be careful” and telling her “her days were numbered.”

WSBC-2 reports the FBI was called to investigate that GOP candidate for the Georgia House special election, Karen Handel, received a threatening letter and a suspicious package June 15. Her neighbors also received envelopes containing a white powdery substance. I could go on, but I’m only allowed 650 words.

Love trumping hate sure requires an awful lot of visceral abhorrence toward those with whom leftists disagree.

If anyone is sanctimonious, it is Swamp Princess Pulosi, for blaming the right for blaming the left for inciting violence. Pulosi’s time would be better spent working to drain the Democratic Party swamp and culling the hate before another Hodgkinson-style atrocity occurs.

Several weeks ago, we asked whether Robert Mueller's investigation into President Donald Trump and the whole Russia fiasco was legitimate or a witch hunt. It's enough that he's an old friend and virtual mentor for James Comey, but we're discovering much more about the investigation by virtue of the team Mueller is putting in place.
          Among that team are three individuals with troubling ties to the liar-Clintons and Democrats. Anthony Weismann is a prosecutor who's given a lot of money to Barack liar-nObama and Democrats. Aaron Zebley represented Justin Cooper, who was a liar-Hillary aide and one of two people with access to liar-Clinton's clandestine email server — Cooper helped set it up. Perhaps most questionable is Jeannie Rhee, who worked for Eric Holder, gave $16,000 to Democrats in the last nine years, and, the kicker, represented liar-Hillary Clinton in the lawsuit over her emails and defended the liar-Clinton Foundation in a racketeering lawsuit.
          Nevertheless, former independent counsel Ken Starr said of Mueller, "He has his head down, he's doing his job, he's assembled a fantastic team. That is a great, great team of complete professionals, so let's let him do his job." Mueller is indeed respected on both sides of the aisle. And yet...
          The appointments prompt questions about the team's objectives and impartiality. Can having liar-Clinton attack dogs on the case be a good sign for Trump? Newt Gingrich doesn't think so. "Republicans are delusional if they think the special counsel is going to be fair," he said. "The fix is in." Lefty Harvard legal scholar Alan Dershowitz warned the investigation was becoming "too political," saying, "In a partisan atmosphere like this, you have to be so careful not to give the other side the ability to claim prejudice. And I think they have given the other side the ability to claim prejudice." And former liar-Clinton advisor Dick Morris asserted, "This is not a special prosecutor's staff; this is a hit squad."
          Strategically, there are two possibilities. One, investigators are going to rabbit trail and find something, somewhere about Russia or something else, and then make a referral to the House to trip up the GOP ahead of the 2018 election. The question of impeachment will be hung around Republican necks, which will be especially troubling for Republicans in marginal districts.
          Two, contrary to Dershowitz, Mueller has diversified his team so that when they find nothing, they'll be immune from charges of partisanship. Let's hope it's the latter, but brace for the former.  ~The Patriot Post

The answer is obvious.

The New York Times, the rest of the left-wing media and the Democratic Party would have made the shootings the dominant issue in American life. It is not possible to understand the left -- and, therefore, the media and the current state of American life -- without understanding how the left uses and relies on hysteria. Hysteria is to the left as oxygen is to biological life.

From the moment Donald Trump was elected president, America has been drowning in left-wing hysteria, all fomented by the media and the Democratic Party.

The charge of Russian collusion with the Trump campaign is hysteria. The claim that the president engaged in obstruction of justice is hysteria. As I have pointed out, the charge of Trump's election unleashing hate and anti-Semitism, which dominated American media for months, was hysteria.

If Democrats had been shot by a Trump supporter, all you would be hearing and reading about is how much hate the Trump election has unleashed in America, how his election is threatening our democracy and how he is unleashing fascism.

But it was a not a Trump supporter who attempted to murder a Democratic congressman, Capitol Police officers, a House GOP aide and a lobbyist; it was a Trump-hating leftist who attempted to murder a Republican congressman and other Republican officials. And, for that reason, what would have been the dominant issue in America today is already a nonissue. The shooting took place on Wednesday. On Friday, the only article about it on The New York Times front page was about the "harmony" engulfing Democrats and Republicans in the wake of the shooting. By Saturday, there was nothing about the shooting on the front page.

The "harmony" issue is worth noting. As sure as the sun rises in the east, had a Trump-supporting fanatic shot Democratic officials, the Democrats would not have said a word about the need for "harmony," or the need to lower the temperature in American political discourse. On the contrary, they would have greatly raised the temperature of their already blistering rhetoric. They would have attributed the shooting entirely to Trump's "hateful" rhetoric having permeated conservative and Republican America.

But it was a leftist who attempted to slaughter Republicans, so it was Republicans who had to respond. And they did so by calling for harmony and lowering the temperature of political differences.

In other words, Republicans reacted with complete conciliation, whereas, the Democrats and their media would have gone ballistic against the right.

Now, why is that?

One reason is that Republicans have accepted the post-shooting narrative of there being some sort of moral equivalence between right-wing and left-wing hate. That they have reinforces my belief that the great majority of Republicans and conservatives, whether in politics or in the media, do not appreciate how rotten the left is (the left -- not traditional liberals). Many really believe that calls for "harmony" and "unity" with Democrats and the left are meaningful.

But the only reason Democrats talked about harmony for a few days after the shooting was one of theirs was the shooter.

Even during the three-day "harmony" period, the left was busy furthering the falsehood that there is quantitative and qualitative equivalence between right-wing and left-wing hate. As evidence, a New York Times editorial said: "Was this attack evidence of how vicious American politics has become? Probably. In 2011, Jared Lee Loughner opened fire in a supermarket parking lot, grievously wounding Representative Gabby Giffords and killing six people, including a 9-year-old girl. At the time, we and others were sharply critical of the heated political rhetoric on the right. Before the shooting, Sarah Palin's political action committee circulated a map that showed the targeted electoral districts of Ms. Giffords and 19 other Democrats under stylized cross hairs."

A Republican putting crosshairs on vulnerable Democrat districts is the worst the Times could come up with. And that is apparently equivalent to all the hate directed at President Trump: calling opposition to him "resistance," as if Democrats were the French resistance and Trump were a Nazi; Kathy Griffin holding President Trump's mock severed head with blood gushing out; Stephen Colbert saying on his TV show that Trump's mouth would make a good "c--- holster" for Russian President Vladimir Putin; and so much more unprecedented hate.

The difference between what has happened after these shootings and what would have happened had a right-winger shot Democratic officials is, in a nutshell, the moral difference between the left and the right; and between Democrats and Republicans.

"Cultural appropriation" is a popular term used by social justice warriors (SJWs) to vilify those who adopt ideas, styles, dress, expressions, cuisine or social practices from cultures not their own. That used to be known here as the American melting pot, but SJWs claim this is a form of racial oppression. Well, the United Nations has decided that "cultural appropriation" has become a big issue — so much so that delegates from 189 countries are gathering for a specialized international committee meeting in Geneva in order to declare the practice illegal and work toward creating international laws to prevent it.
          The goal of the UN, says James Anaya, dean of law at the University of Colorado, should be to "obligate states to create effective criminal and civil enforcement procedures to recognize and prevent the non-consensual taking and illegitimate possession, sale and export of traditional cultural expressions." You heard that right — the UN should require governments of the world to create laws which prevent citizens from engaging in the traditions of other cultures. This is ironic given that the constant mantra from the UN and the Left has been calls for greater diversity and globalism. This is a call to tribalism.
          In reality, this UN special committee is working to prevent the cultural and economic development of some nations, and the U.S. in particular. Our entire history is one of engaging in the adoption and blending of a multitude of various cultural traditions and practices into one — e pluribus unum. The UN evidently views the concept of a melting pot as racist and oppressive. Just another issue for those disgruntled nations within the UN to use to demonize the U.S.
          And that really seems to be the point. Much of the world rejects those foundational values espoused in the U.S. Constitution. Whether it is the right to bear arms or the right to freedom of speech, those are values that many of the world's intellectual elites find repugnant, because those rights prevent them from controlling people. Liberty prevents them from being able to rule the world according to their own ideals. It allows for the common man to express his own opinions and values. To put it bluntly, this is an attempt to squelch that Liberty.

{townhall.com} ~ Press Secretary Sean Spicer is taking a step back from his very public role at the podium to help manage the message coming out of the White House from the communications team. From POLITICO:

White House press secretary Sean Spicer is leading a search for his own replacement at the briefing room podium as part of a larger plan to shake up the White House communications operations, according to two people with knowledge of the effort.

Last week, Spicer and White House chief of staff Reince Priebus reached out to Fox News personality Laura Ingraham about the role of press secretary and Daily Mail editor David Martosko about the role of communications director, according to a White House official.

Deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who has frequently filled in for Spicer, has told people that she doesn’t want the job of press secretary, according to a source close to her.

“We have sought input from many people as we look to expand our communications operation,” Sanders said. “As he did in the beginning, Sean Spicer is managing both the communications and press office.”

When President Trump was inaugurated in January, Spicer was running the communications team and serving as press secretary. In February Mike Dubke was hired as the Communications Director, but resigned in May, prompting Spicer to again take on the communications workload in addition to his press secretary duties. Dubke helped plan President Trump's first foreign trip.

Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will brief reporters from now on as the White House looks for a replacement. Whether Spicer will stay at the White House in a different role is still unclear.

After President Donald Trump's inauguration, he set about appointing the most conservative administration since Ronald Reagan — more conservative, in fact. He's accomplished some important policy changes, not least of which is reining in the regulatory beast. And yet his administration, from even before Day 1, has been beset by distraction and phony scandal. Most of that — 95% of it — is fomented by leftists determined to undermine his agenda and delegitimize his very presidency.           Two yuge caveats. {wnd.com} ~ We may never know what brutal torture and malign neglect American student Otto Warmbier suffered at the hands of North Korea's dictatorship before losing his life this week at the age of 22.

But it wasn't the first time the free-spirited Ohio native died.

More than a year before succumbing to the unknown illness or injury that left him in a coma thousands of miles away from home, Otto Warmbier's own countrymen murdered his reputation. His character. His humanity.

Click-hungry media ghouls knew nothing about Warmbier's small-town upbringing, his family life, politics, personality, disappointments or dreams. But they gleefully savaged a young man who made a mistake on a doomed trip to a totalitarian hell.

Warmbier's thoughtless taunters instantly transformed him into a bigger, badder villain than the barbaric DPRK goons who beat, starve, rape and kill enemies of the state for such offenses as listening to foreign radio broadcasts, possessing Bibles and disrespecting Dear Leader -- in Warmbier's case, by attempting to steal a propaganda sign that read "Let's arm ourselves strongly with Kim Jong-il's patriotism!" as a souvenir.

The Huffington Post published an acid rant by "Blogging While Black" writer La Sha titled "North Korea Proves Your White Male Privilege Is Not Universal." She rejoiced at Warmbier's sentence because, she gloated, it taught him that "the shield his cis white male identity provides here in America is not teflon abroad."

Instead of faulting a repressive socialist regime, La Sha blamed Warmbier for "being socialized first as a white boy, and then as a white man in this country." The HuffPo's megalomaniac millennial had the gall to compare her daily plight of living and breathing freely in America to Warmbier's captivity:

"The hopeless fear Warmbier is now experiencing is my daily reality living in a country where white men like him are willfully oblivious to my suffering even as they are complicit in maintaining the power structures which ensure their supremacy at my expense."

But it wasn't just babbling diversity bloggers who exploited Warmbier's imprisonment.

For a few cheap yuks, liberal black comedian Larry Wilmore plowed ahead with smug disregard to how Warmbier's parents, family and friends must have suffered as photos and videos of their son and loved one were plastered all over media. To canned laughter, Wilmore mocked Warmbier on his Comedy Central show with a graphic labeling him an "ASS," which spelled out a fake frat name, "Alpha Sigma Sigma."

"It's just tough for me to have much sympathy for this guy and his crocodile tears," Wilmore snarked as he roasted the "Frat Boy."

Left-wing website Salon added another layer to the white male-bashing echo chamber:

"This might be America's biggest idiot frat boy: Meet the UVa student who thought he could pull a prank in North Korea."

Not to be outdone, Affinity Magazine a "social justice" online magazine for teens stomped on Warmbier's grave after his death was announced:

"Watch whiteness work," the publication tweeted. "He wasn't a 'kid' or 'innocent' you can't go to another country and try to steal from them. Respect their laws."

This from a rag that had deified Black Lives Matter icons Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin as downtrodden youth whose extensive rap sheets must remain unmentioned at all costs.

Otto's saboteurs engaged in the very same bigotry and stereotyping they recklessly accuse everyone else of at every turn. The far left learned nothing from leaping to conclusions about the Duke lacrosse players or the wrongfully accused members of Phi Kappa Psi at University of Virginia -- where Warmbier was a junior double-majoring in commerce and economics.

By all accounts, Warmbier was a charismatic and caring human being whom one high-school classmate called "Everyone's friend." He was a lover of cultures and intellectually open-minded -- "a warm, engaging, brilliant young man whose curiosity and enthusiasm for life knew no bounds," according to his family.

Utterly consumed by malignant identity politics, the left-wing intelligentsia have become the intolerantsia. They are bent on dehumanizing individuals, fomenting racial, ethnic and class division in the name of "progressivism," and never taking responsibility for the damage done.

Contrast the no-regrets policy of these "Frat Boy"-bashers, with a former North Korean prison guard, Lim Hye-jin, who escaped recently and recounted the horrors of life in the camps.

"We were manipulated not to feel any sympathy for prisoners," she said. The guards of the totalitarian state "do not see them as human beings, just as animals." After realizing she had been brainwashed by ideological monsters, she spoke out.

"Now I know they were normal people, so I feel very guilty."

Will the short, slandered life and double death of Otto Warmbier prompt the American left's cruel character assassins to admit the same?

Crowds streamed into the new classic masjid, Arabic for mosque, at the Islamic Center of Johnson County.

Overland Park Mayor Carl Gerlach did the official honor of cutting a ceremonial ribbon for the construction project, which was conceived a decade ago.

“It’s important to Overland Park because these are great friends,” Gerlach says. “They’ve worked well with the city, are great community builders, and it makes us a stronger community building this mosque here.”

Zafir Hawa, a local cardiologist and trustee of the Islamic Center, estimates Johnson County is home to about 5,000 Muslims.

Mary Baker of Olathe Bible Church says her church has had a long relationship with ICJC.

“I pray for God’s protection over this mosque,” Baker says. “I think it’s extremely important in this day and age to build bridges between communities, so we can learn how we share values in spite of differences between the two faiths.”

Several members of the FBI were present at Friday’s ceremony.

Officials with the mosque consulted with the FBI before construction of the new building about security measures. Both the exterior and interior perimeters are equipped with special lights and panoramic surveillance cameras.

Special Agent in Charge Darrin Jones says the FBI is engaging with many different communities.

What he meant to say was, “many different Muslim communities.”

Per their own website, the mosque is open but they are using the neighboring library for parking. Did they run out of parking spaces already? Not plan enough? Were they permitted to open the mosque prior to completing construction of the parking lot?  With the mayor, local police and FBI in pocket, and a newly selected Muslim city councilman, who will even question them?
