Standing Together Against Evil

As long as the media, entertainers, and other public figures blatantly mock God, authority and laws, we will continue to witness horrific manifestations of evil like we saw in the attack on GOP representatives and senators in Alexandria, Virginia. If Americans continue to cast aside the principles upon which freedom stands, the blessings freedom offers will be lost. There is no substitute for the power of transforming truth that sets us free and keeps us free.

This latest senseless and evil act was not caused by the election of President Trump, his administration, or what he is trying to accomplish for America. The worthy goals he seeks to fulfill are, in fact, necessary to help bring such evil action under control.

It is perfectly appropriate and essential for our nation’s leaders to call for prayer and divine guidance. This call from President Trump, Senator Schumer, Speaker Paul Ryan and others is the right immediate step. Do not accept the foolishness of any individuals or media personalities who attack these calls as somehow unconstitutional or out of place. Prayer is in perfect harmony with the heart of our founding fathers, the spirit of our Constitution, and that which is essential for the future of freedom.

Evil is a Present Reality

Every one of us is distracted by evil, often defeated by evil, divided by evil and, tragically, sometimes destroyed by evil. Evil is a present reality; and calling good evil, or evil good, or light darkness does not solve the problem. Evil affects every one of us on the planet in this present age and will until we are in the kingdom to come, where there will be no evil. Although we are all distracted by it, often deceived, and defeated by it, this individual shooter at the baseball field was sold out to and controlled by evil.

Many of the active forces we witness around the world are acts perpetrated by people who have sold out to evil, and those forces must be resisted and destroyed. This is the rule of God-ordained authority and government of the people, by the people and for the people. (Read Romans 13:1-4.)

A Return to Righteousness and Unity

Right now, it is critically important that everyone who has a relationship with God the Father and Creator pray fervently for a supernatural awakening and a return to true righteousness and unity that only truth can make possible. The invitation from God, “Come now, and let us reason together,” is an invitation to the entire nation to come and reason together. Though our “sins be as scarlet they will become as white as snow.”

There is no substitute for repentance and a return to God. “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him” (Isaiah 59:19).

The heated rhetoric must cease on all sides. Instead of name-calling we must be calling on the name.

God still promises, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chron. 7:14). There is hope for the healing God freely offers to those who follow that glorious pathway. The 90-minute film, “Chosen and Excluded — Jew Hatred in Europe” by German producers Joachim Schröder and Sophie Hafner, was commissioned by German public TV broadcaster WDR on behalf of its French-German partner channel Arte.

Presenting the various ways in which anti-Semitism is expressed in contemporary Europe, the documentary shows right-wing Neo-Nazis, BDS activists and a demonstrator dressed like a hippie who designates himself a libertarian and praises the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion.” Anti-Semitism among worker’s rights activists in France is featured alongside cases of Muslim Jew-hatred, some of which culminate in the torturing and cold-blooded murder of Jews.

However, once the documentary was submitted — and approved by the editor — the heads of the networks decided that it would not be broadcast because the movie allegedly “fails to meet formal requirements.”

Throughout Europe, the decision has roused much criticism: The French daily Le Monde and German anti-Semitism researcher Monika Schwarz-Friesel, among others, call it a case of censorship.

Seemingly, the controversial crux of this alleged “censorship” is Israel.

Paying special attention to the denigration of the state of Israel as one of the most prevalent contemporary forms of Jew-hatred, the documentary highlights the activities of NGOs that engage in anti-Semitic Israel bashing while receiving European tax money. In order to contextualize anti-Semitic libel about the Jewish state by contrasting it with the reality on the ground, the producers included footage from Israel and the Palestinian territories.

That footage, ironically, is what Arte program director Alain Le Diberder, states as the major reason for pulling the plug on the production.

In a press statement Le Diberder claims that the producers failed to comply with the requirement to deliver a documentary about anti-Semitism in Europe, because they included too much footage from Israel and too little from European countries.

‘This is ludicrous’

“This is ludicrous,” says Serap Güler, a member of both the WDR network’s program council as well as the executive committee of German chancellor Angela Merkel’s CDU-party.

Michaela Engelmeier, a Social-Democratic member of the Bundestag (Germany’s federal parliament), likewise calls Le Diberder’s statement “incomprehensible.”

More prominent liberal elected officials just as quickly called for more gun control, which also came as no surprise, because that is what liberals do…they attempt to seize on any tragic event for political purposes.

There is, of course, a distinct reason for the knee-jerk reactions of liberal jerks…they have an immediate need to try and deflect the blame for such events away from the real, root causes and a political need to try and attach their fabricated blame to others in a desperate attempt to bolster their political agenda.

Environmental Protection Agency Director Scott Pruitt recently announced a plan to reform the Superfund program, which was established in 1980 to clean up hazardous waste sites. The EPA currently numbers 1,336 sites on its Superfund list, and Pruitt aims to prioritize and accelerate the EPA's efforts in cleaning up these waste sites — an issue for which action is long overdue.
          Many of the efforts to engage in the actual cleaning up of these sites has been stymied by a combination of the inefficacy of government bureaucracy and legal disputes. An example of this inefficient and costly government bureaucracy is seen in Portland Harbor, Oregon, where the EPA listed a Superfund site in 2000. The agency spent millions of dollars and years researching a plan to clean up the site only to eventually throw out the plan and research it again. It was just this past January, right before Donald Trump took office, when Barack liar-nObama's EPA administrator, Gina McCarthy, finally settled on a plan for cleaning up the site. This is only one of many instances where the agency tasked with protecting the nation's environment has wasted time and money, primarily due to bureaucratic distractions.
          Pruitt has directed a task force to review the Superfund program's business and management practices. Part of the reform plan will be to centralize leadership on decisions for projects costing over $50 million, with the aim of removing unnecessary obstacles in order to provide greater efficiency in implementing cleanup plans. This move would also help to cut costs, an important issue for Trump as he has called for a 30% cut to the EPA's projected budget over the next fiscal year.
          If it has to exist at all, it's about time the EPA got back to its original purpose in doing real environmental protection work rather than spending so much time and funding on promoting the Marxist propaganda of climate change.  ~The Patriot Post

{aim.org} ~ After feigning conversion to Islam at Northern Virginia’s Dar Al-Hijrah mosque and spending several weeks learning how to live as a “Sharia-compliant Muslim,” Chris Gaubatz spent six months working undercover as an intern with the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR).

During an interview on “The Alex Nitzberg Show,” he explained that CAIR holds seminars that train Muslims to cultivate relationships with the media so that they will turn to these Muslims for comment “…after a terrorist attack or after something happens that negatively affects Islam…” They teach attendees “to respond to these attacks” in a way that portrays Islam in “a positive light.”

Gaubatz refers to this as CAIR’s “information campaign” and explains that following terror attacks CAIR utilizes its media contacts to propagate the narrative “that this has nothing to do with Islam.”

According to Gaubatz, CAIR uses “interfaith dialogue” to propagate their narrative and “CAIR and other Muslim Brotherhood groups” purposely “get closer to the law enforcement” after terror attacks by offering “sensitivity training” and volunteering to serve as a “liaison” between police and Muslim communities.

“Their whole purpose with this narrative war is to shut the discussion down because if you can shut the discussion down…and distance Islam from any part of the problem, then the people that are charged with protecting citizens are always looking elsewhere for the problem…and the problem is, and always has, been rooted right in Islam and right in the Sharia, they’re intertwined.”

The media’s reporting on CAIR borders on “material support of terrorism,” according to Gaubatz, because reporters regurgitate CAIR’s description of itself as a Muslim civil rights organization without noting CAIR’s connection with Hamas as demonstrated in the Holy Land Foundation trial.

“They don’t even do two seconds of basic research on their own which would show that CAIR is a Hamas organization and has the agenda of Hamas, never giving any kind of balance to any of their stories with very few exceptions,” Gaubatz stated.

While he partially attributes this to reporters’ laziness, Gaubatz also believes the issue is related to the “red-green axis,” the paradoxical alliance between “hard-left Marxist, socialist groups,” (red) and “jihadis” (green) “working together” despite their significant differences because of their shared revolutionary ambitions to radically reshape America. Gaubatz said that some of the staunchest socialist/Marxist radicals are the administrators, teachers and students within university journalism departments.

Gaubatz says the United States should enact a Muslim immigration ban because even if the U.S. could check potential immigrants’ criminal records in a database, “…it still wouldn’t tell us whether their agenda was to advance the Sharia and the jihad here in America, that doesn’t show up on a database.” While he believes some Muslims are “good people,” he said that Sharia-adherence is the “delineating factor.”

He also believes the government should immediately indict the unindicted coconspirators named in the Holy Land Foundation Trial and classify the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization. However, he noted the latter is not currently being considered for this status since the State Department issued a letter recommending against designating the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization.

But the true conservative complaint about the media isn't that they don't offer one good news story for every bad news one. It's that they make up news out of whole cloth and use it to push an agenda, all while pretending to be objectively calling balls and strikes. Sullivan is essentially protesting that they're not the ones pitching; they're just umpiring. And that's hogwash. The DemoMSM's sole purpose ever since helping Trump win the GOP nomination has been to destroy him and derail his agenda, using fake news whenever it suits them. Sullivan promises that will continue as long as Trump is "doing a rotten job."
          In a seemingly unrelated news item that actually illustrates our point, Tom Steyer, a billionaire lefty who's superPAC donated $100 million to Democrats in 2016, wrote a letter to Congress imploring them to begin impeachment proceedings. He argues that the "clear and undisputed facts about Mr. Trump's attempt to impede an FBI investigation demand an immediate impeachment inquiry by the House of Representatives."

{truthrevolt.org} ~ It's settled, but far from over. The University of Virginia fraternity that was slimed and defamed by sicko fabulist Sabrina Erdely will receive a $1.65 million payment, the fraternity announced this week.

Erdely's manufactured tale of gang rape by Phi Kappa Psi members, spun through a manipulated UVA student dubbed "Jackie" and published by left-wing Rolling Stone magazine, combusted spectacularly after scrutiny by independent journalists in late 2014. The latest payout over the fictional hit piece comes in the wake of another defamation lawsuit by UVA dean of students Nicole Eramo. She won a $3 million jury verdict last year after suffering great damage to her reputation after Rolling Stone and painted her as an uncaring, obstructionist school official who covered up sexual assault on campus.

The judgment, Eramo told NBC 29 in Charlottesville, Virginia, last week, "was vindicating."

But is it enough to compensate for the harm done -- and is it enough to deter future rape hoaxers and their media enablers from perpetrating more lies against innocent young men?

Phi Kappa Psi initially sued for $25 million, but received a tiny fraction of that amount. Eramo's jury award also shrunk after she agreed to a settlement with Rolling Stone in April. Despite her court victory, she faced a mountain of legal bills related to trial costs and a threatened appeal.

And what about Erdeley's other victims?

Three other Phi Kappa Psi alumni, George Elias IV, Stephen Hadford and Ross Fowler, filed a third defamation suit that was dismissed by a federal judge last year. But in April, the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals in New York heard arguments for reinstating the case. It will take considerable time and resources for the fraternity members to be made whole again.

Even more troubling: There are other forgotten targets of Erdely's shoddy slur-nolism, again published by Rolling Stone, who have yet to see any accountability for her destructive words and actions against them.

In 2011, Erdely published a massive "investigation" in Rolling Stone alleging a "high-level conspiracy" to cover up sexual abuse by Philadelphia Catholic clergy. Erdely featured the graphic allegations of a troubled accuser known as "Billy Doe," who lodged wild rape charges against two Catholic priests and a lay teacher. His testimony resulted in the convictions of four men (one of whom died in prison), while "Billy" pocketed a $5 million settlement.

Ralph Cipriano, independent investigative journalist and founder of BigTrial, has extensively chronicled the lies, contradictions, and schemes of former altar boy "Billy" -- a.k.a. Daniel Gallagher -- over the past five years. Last month, Cipriano reported that a key detective in the case, Joe Walsh, filed an affidavit in the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court outlining Gallagher's deception. When Walsh pressed Gallagher on whether his stories of "brutal anal rapes, death threats, (and) getting tied up naked with altar sashes" were true, Walsh wrote that Gallagher admitted he "just made up stuff and told them anything."

More damning, Cipriano reported, Walsh had "repeatedly informed the prosecutor in the case, former Assistant District Attorney Mariana Sorensen, that Gallagher wasn't a credible witness. Walsh also informed Sorensen that there was no evidence that backed up Gallagher's fantastic stories, and that the evidence gathered by Walsh actually contradicted Gallagher."

But the DA's office proceeded with the prosecutions, anyway. And Rolling Stone has never bothered to review or update Erdely's article -- or inform readers of the real scandal of yet another fake rape hoax and prosecutorial misconduct.

In 2013, Erdely published another piece of half-baked advocacy journalism on "The Rape of Petty Officer (Rebecca) Blumer: Inside the military's culture of sex abuse, denial and cover-up."

She's a one-trick pony, ain't she?

As Washington Examiner reporter Ashe Schow pointed out, Erdely "apparently made no attempt to contact members of the military involved in investigating the case, instead relying on victim's advocates with no direct knowledge" of Blumer's claims of being "roofied and raped."

Fraternities, religious institutions, the military, and the entire male population have been defamed by a lying liar with a laptop and her "progressive" editors at Democrat donor Jann Wenner's flagship rock music rag. All in service of promoting "rape culture" propaganda at any cost.

Too few journalists are willing to challenge the corruption of the criminal justice system in their backyards. Politicized police departments and pro-prosecution courts have failed to uphold the constitutional rights of the accused. The wheels of justice grind far too slowly for the falsely defamed and falsely convicted, fighting for their reputations or for their lives behind bars.

Juries need to send louder messages and impose strong deterrents against rape fakers and their propagandists. Make them pay. Big time.

The Russian investigation blew up in the face of all accusers. As Comey stated, Trump was never under investigation for collusion (whatever that means), so now, the investigation goes into a possible "obstruction case", leaded by Comey's BFF, Muller. This case REAKS of a bias which-hunt, headed by Muller, who has so many conflicts of interest, it is hard to count them all. Regardless of that, Muller has refused to step aside and the which hunt continues...

During Comey's testimony, we learned of ACTUAL, obstruction committed by Loretta Lynch, Comey perjured himself from previous testimonies, etc..etc..etc.. point being, there were actual crimes here committed...

By Robin Smith: The reasons voters supported Donald Trump in November 2016 instead of liar-Hillary Clinton are still the reasons President Trump's agenda remains supported. We'll focus here on two reasons — one economic, and the other religious.
          Sure, there are myriad distractions, but Americans are seeing effective policy implemented by a guy who's on track to keep more campaign promises in 20 weeks than many in the GOP have kept in 20 years of starch-collared incumbency
          There remains an elevated level of incredulity among Democrats that their nominee was so terribly flawed. liar-Clinton's reputation preceded her as an opportunist whose wealth was the result of "public service" and the clear pay-to-play philosophy of the entire corruption liar-Clinton cabal. The collective disdain by the Democrat Party for the average working American was only surpassed by their nominee, whose volcanic spew scorched the "deplorables" and "irredeemables" who support legal immigration, strong national defense, actual health insurance versus Medicaid-for-all and an opportunity to work instead of fearing unemployment due to job elimination following burdensome regulation.
          Yet results are funny things. After decades of promises to stop the flow of illegal immigrants, the abysmal standing in the world after the lead-from-behind approach of foreign policy, and an overregulated economy that killed jobs, pushed record numbers onto welfare and turned our health insurance plans into worthless policies with high premiums, Americans abandoned tradition and common thought related to politics. Voters rejected the policies and promises of the previous eight years. Americans want to work for their wealth and see their government serving their interests, not the bureaucracy itself.
          A recent Wall Street Journal analysis took a large bank's annual report presented by M&T Bank CEO Robert Wilmers and validated the case. Without mentioning presidential politics or politicians, the report noted that a "declining share of households even consider themselves to be part of the middle class; 63% did so in 2001. By 2015, that number had fallen to just 51%." Citing stagnant wages that have only increased 13% since 1973, poor returns on more traditional investment tools such as savings accounts and other bank deposits, and the fact that only half of Americans invest in the stock market versus 72% in 2008, Wilmers makes a declaratory statement: "No wage growth. No investment earnings growth. No wonder families are stretched and stressed." And no wonder they dumped the establishment candidate.
          The full M&T Bank's Message to Shareholders bemoans flawed monetary policy and excessive regulatory burdens that have been the anchors for lending institutions. These same anchors indiscriminately weigh down any forward movement toward growth. And, again, that's where Trump's campaign promises turned into a presidential win.
          Using the Congressional Review Act, President Trump has reversed 14 regulations that will save $3.7 billion in regulatory costs and $35 billion just in compliance costs. According to the conservative think tank American Action Forum, a total of $86 billion will be saved by Trump's repeal and elimination of just these few regulations.
          Make no mistake: these costs are taxes. These regulatory costs kill jobs. And while leftists still erroneously believe that only dumb white people elected the 45th president, voters chose to pursue a much-needed economic turnaround — one that's already occurring. The Hill featured a story Sunday declaring the economy as a "bright spot" for Trump with the Standard & Poor's up more than 12%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 16%, unemployment at a 16-year low, and an expected 2.3% growth in GDP.
          A second reason Trump upset liar-Hillary and the status quo was faith-based issues. The promise of an originalist to fill the vacancy of deceased Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was reason enough for many voters to look past the imperfections of a massive personality named The Donald. That promise has already been fulfilled with the brilliant appointment of Neil Gorsuch.
          Leftists perpetually shame Christians for their supposedly intolerant, bigoted ways. The Rainbow Mafia is particularly ruthless in "correcting" this "wrong." But the reality is that Christians don't want a theocracy. Nor, however, do we want to be sued into oblivion by a tiny minority for not baking a wedding cake for a homosexual redefinition of marriage.
          Understand that while Trump was the recipient of votes as the candidate for president, it was the full rejection of the open assault on those of the Christian faith by brazen leftists that moved Bible-believing Christians to support a very imperfect man. Just this weekend, the same leftist activists demanding free health care, free birth control, debt forgiveness and any other socialist agenda item marched in the streets with Sharia Law proponents who seek a parallel judicial system that places Islam's teachings as the basis of law, not our U.S. Constitution. Square that circle with the homosexual agenda.
          Be advised that the hectoring of evangelicals for their support of Trump by those who obsess on the "right" to kill babies in the womb, to pick-a-gender-of-the-day and marry whomever, to enable Sharia compliance that permits so-called "honor killings" is transparently pitiful.
          Conventional wisdom told us that the 2016 election was supposed to be another Bush-liar-Clinton face-off. Conventional wisdom was rejected repeatedly because those entrusted with leadership to right the ship of state have failed to stand erect with an intact spine to fight against Democrats' efforts to "fundamentally transform America."

Democrats across the land are appalled at the assassination attempt of Congressional Republicans by Illinois leftist James Hodgkinson, who wounded four and left Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) in critical condition. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said that her prayers were with Scalise and the others, as well as for President Donald Trump. She said that while there are differences among the parties, that they are all family. Other Democrats took a similar conciliatory tone, and socialist Senator Bernie Sanders even issued an apology because Hodgkinson was part of his campaign. Virginia Democratic Governor Terry McCauliffe expressed empathy, but used the opportunity to promote gun control. But wait.
 
These people, while they are acting all sympathetic and empathetic saying that we are all family, are the very same people who have stirred hate for Republicans and fueled the vulgar and nasty protests to resist, obstruct, undermine and overthrow the current Republican-led government. Look at the statements made by Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, the ex-"president," Keith Ellison, Ashley Judd, Madonna, and so on. Their hate-filled inflammatory rhetoric has people so stirred up that it was only a matter of time when a nut-case like Hodgkinson took matters into his own hands. How many more out there are about to cross that red line of no return because of the national rhetoric of the left?
 
Between radicalization of Muslims and the Democratic Party rhetoric, our country is becoming a very inhospitable place for the law-abiding. In this case, leadership of the Democratic Party, who are now expressing their contrite condolences, were part and parcel to this hate crime by Hodgkinson. Those who marched on Washington wearing their little pink vagina stocking caps and cheered in support of the speeches are also responsible for creating this atmosphere. Shame on them. Because of this heightened rhetoric, our way of life is threatened. This hate speech, and that is truly what it is even when they are saying peace out of the other side of their mouths, begets violence. Hodgkinson is not alone. There are others. Hopefully, they will stand down. But how much rhetoric can some of these leftist radicals endure before they turn violent?
 
George Washington, in his 1796 Farewell Speech, warned against divisions and suggested a higher duty to country and to one another when he said, " The name of American, which belongs to you in your national capacity, must always exalt the just pride of patriotism more than any appellation derived from local discriminations. With slight shades of difference, you have the same religion, manners, habits, and political principles." We should act as such. Jesus said in Mark 3:25, "And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand." Lincoln used this in his June 1858 speech forewarning the Civil War. As Christians, we know how Christ taught civility and solving our differences without hate and vulgarity. For the sake of our way of life and our eternal hope, let us exemplify Christ in this hate crime atmosphere.

HuffPo Pulls Article Calling for ‘Ultimate Punishment’ of Trump

The Huffington Post pulled a piece calling for the “execution” of President Donald Trump published Saturday by contributor Jason Fuller.

Fuller’s piece contained rhetoric and imagery that seems tasteless, particularly after Wednesday’s events. Fuller boldly declares in the title that “Trump must be prosecuted — if convicted in a court of law — executed.” Fuller doesn’t stop there, however, as he insists that “impeachment isn’t enough” to “drain the swamp,” and to do so means doling out the “ultimate punishment [execution]” in order to fully restore the moral compass of the U.S.

Fuller’s “ultimate punishment” is not only reserved for the president, but also for “everyone assisting in his agenda,” including Republican Reps. Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan and White House strategist Steve Bannon. Fuller claims that “all must face justice” by being tried, convicted and ultimately executed for treason. {wnd.com} ~ If the Council on American-Islamic Relations is in the United States simply to protect the civil rights of Muslims according to the law of the land, why would it object to protests against the implementation of a religious law that ultimately conflicts with the U.S. Constitution?

That’s the question that arises in response to CAIR’s outrage against the rallies organized by the group Act for America in more than 20 U.S. cities Saturday dubbed “March Against Shariah, March for Human Rights.”

Act for America said the event was in “memory and support of victims of FGM (female genital mutilation), honor killings and violence toward the LGBTQ community in the name of religion, culture and foreign law.”

But the executive director of CAIR’s Houston office, Mustafaa Carroll, contended in an interview that the premise for the rallies is “propaganda saying the Muslim community is here to take over the country, subvert the Constitution and implement Shariah law as the law of the land.”

“There’s nothing further from the truth. I have never heard a Muslim say it, intimate it, want to do it, etcetera,” he said.

“But this is all propaganda, and that propaganda has found some traction with a lot of groups who are anti-Muslim, anti-xenophobic (sic), racist or whatever you want to call them.”

Despite Carroll’s assertions, CAIR itself – according to FBI wiretap evidence – was founded as a front for the Muslim Brotherhood to carry out the Brotherhood’s stated objective to replace the U.S. Constitution with Islamic law.

Further, several of CAIR’s top leaders are on the record saying the same.

CAIR founder Omar Ahmad, as WND reported in 2003 and in 2006, told a gathering of Muslims in Northern California in 1998 that they were in America not to assimilate but to help assert Islam’s rule over the country. CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper said in a 1993 interview with the Minneapolis Star Tribune that he hoped to U.S. would become Islamic through “education.”

And in a 2003 interview with Michael Medved, Hooper clearly declared: “If Muslims ever become a majority in the United States, it would be safe to assume that they would want to replace the U.S. Constitution with Islamic law, as most Muslims believe that God’s law is superior to man-made law.”

Ihsan Bagby of CAIR’s Washington office has said that Muslims “can never be full citizens of this country,” referring to the United States, “because there is no way we can be fully committed to the institutions and ideologies of this country.”

WND reported a poll commissioned in May 2015 by the Center for Security Policy showed that 51 percent of American Muslims preferred to have their own Shariah courts outside of the legal system ruled by the U.S. Constitution. And nearly a quarter believed the use of violent jihad was justified in establishing Shariah.

Nevertheless, in an interview with MSNBC’s “A.M. Joy” about the Saturday rallies, Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., the first Muslim elected to Congress, insisted “no one is actually trying to enact Shariah in America.”

“This is nothing more than a tactic to scare Americans about their Muslim neighbors,” the congressman said.

"He said President Trump is creating a “culture of hate” in which “intolerance is taking over.”

The host, Joy Reid, commenting that Act for America founder Brigitte Gabriel “has some sort of fantasy of a Muslim takeover,” asked Ellison if he was disturbed by Gabriel’s recent invitation to the White House.

“It’s like playing ‘Birth of a Nation’ in the White House, as President Wilson did one time,” he said.

President Trump, Ellison said, “has given a stamp of approval to a lot of haters.”

‘Hate groups’

Many news reports on the rally cited the controversial Southern Poverty Law Center’s designation of Act for America as a hate group. It’s a determination many regard as dubious because the organization smears many mainstream groups and individuals as “haters” simply for supporting the traditional definition of marriage, including Dr. Ben Carson.

The director of CAIR’s Minnesota branch, Jaylani Hussein, spoke out against the rallies at a press conference his organization held Friday.

“Hate groups like Act for America and the hate rhetoric that is now increased in our society have real, serious consequences,” he said.

In an interview with WND, however, Gabriel pointed out that Islamic law has entered Western court rooms, citing the fact that 143 cases in 22 states have allowed Shariah law as a defense.

Female genital mutilation and honor killings also are a serious problem in the U.S., she said.

The Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta estimated 513,000 girls in the United States in 2017 are at risk of female genital mutilation or have already been victims of it.

“Who would have thought that in America today we were going to be discussing or dealing with such a barbaric practice that people think is only practiced in the backwoods of Africa and the Middle East?” Gabriel asked.

She said honor killings continue in American communities.

“These are girls and women who are killed by a male in their family for simple things such as asking for a divorce, wanting to wear makeup, wanting to go out on a date or wanting to go out to a cafe with male and female friends,” she said.

Responding to critics who accuse the March Against Shariah of being anti-Muslim, Gabriel pointed out there are Muslims who have joined the cause, including a former imam who helped organize one of the rallies.

She said four practicing Muslims spoke at rallies.

“The Muslim that organized our Atlanta rally was named Muhammad, and he’s the one who pulled it all together. We had acid-attack survivors who spoke at our rallies. We had Miriam Ibrahim speak at our rally in Virginia Beach.”

Ibrahim was the woman sentenced to death in Sudan for converting to Christianity and forced to give birth while shackled in prison. Fierce international pressure eventually led to her release.

“We welcome people to our country from all over the place, from different backgrounds, different religions, different sexual orientations, whatever it is,” Gabriel said.

“I am an immigrant to America. But we want people who come to the United States to abide by our rules, obey our Constitution, adopt our culture and become part of the American fabric and live in a way that is compatible with our Western democracy and respect for human rights.”

She said that is clearly not happening.

“We do not want people coming here genitally mutilating young American girls, killing American girls in the name of honor or teaching the hatred and encouraging the killing of gays and lesbians, etcetera,” she said.

He was a liberal, but more of a classical liberal than a leftist or a “progressive” as they call themselves today. He was willing to consider any idea on its merit and wasn’t dubious because it might be conservative. If he didn’t agree he would argue logically, not acrimoniously. Together we formed a political discussion group, an old-fashioned salon. For the first few years it was all men, many of them WWII vets and all somewhat left of center, I was too — then. I was the youngest member at a time when my own perspective started moving right. We met every two weeks in a library the old man had built in part of his barn.

During the ten or so years of my involvement I was still a Democrat, but the party’s movement left was accelerating. The old man saw me trying to counteract that in my writing even before I did. I had voted for Bill liar-Clinton in 1992, but was dismayed by what he was doing and considered resigning from the Democrat Party, but the old man urged me to work from within. Our group started moving left also as new members came in and railed against liar-Clinton’s impeachment. I began to skip meetings and eventually stopped attending altogether. Not long after, the group disbanded.

My movement right continued. I registered Republican but I was still feeling isolated as the education establishment was moving harder left along with all of New England, including Maine’s Republican Party. Some in the community began assuming that I was inculcating students with the same conservative views I expressed in my columns. I was “poisoning young minds,” they claimed. They pressured my district’s administrators, the school board, and Maine’s teacher licensing agency to discipline me and worse. My administrators knew their charges were baseless but had to respond to their complaints with an investigation. I was cleared, but being an out-of-the-closet conservative in public schools got increasingly difficult. Other leftists came after me too, which is the subject of a book I’m still working on.

Nationwide now, acrimony dominates left-right debate and is increasing to dangerous levels — even to violent attacks by far-left "Antifa" goons on college campuses and in the streets. That’s bad enough, but what is perhaps worst of all is something The Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol wrote last week:

For young Americans today, Donald Trump is the face of Republicanism and conservatism.
They don't like that face. And the danger, of course, is that they'll decide their judgment of Trump should carry over to the Republican party that nominated him and the conservative movement that mostly supports him. If he is indeed permitted to embody the party and the movement without challenge, the fortunes of both will be at the mercy of President Trump's own fortunes.

Trump’s fortunes are tanking. That scares me because I think Kristol’s analysis is on the mark. At the 41st annual convention of the National Society of Newspaper Columnists last weekend, I sat in the audience as Maureen Dowd delivered a devastatingly effective diatribe against Trump. The smart-ass Irish wit in her DNA was on full display. On Ms. Dowd’s bad side isn’t a safe place for anyone to be. Earlier that day, Manchester Union Leader publisher Joe McQuaid, a conservative, also displayed his disdain for Trump in just a couple of short remarks.

With majorities in the House and Senate, Republicans cannot unite behind Trump and, so far, Trump isn’t a good enough leader to bring them together. Has he got it in him to become one? I hope so, but I’m not optimistic. At this point, I’m afraid of how much more damage he’ll do to the conservative movement if he doesn’t.

The Democrat Party is deteriorating.  During President Obama’s term, Democrats suffered a net loss of 1,042 state and federal Democratic posts; congressional and state legislative seats, governorships, and the presidency. 

The Democrat Party supports big government, more regulations, more taxes, and illegal immigration.  Democrats choose Socialism; provide everything to everyone, at any time. 

Democrats dislike President Trump.  History illustrates Americans are shifting their politics toward Republicans of smaller government, less regulation, less taxes, and legal immigration.  The National Debt must be reduced. 

During President Obama’s term in office, Obama and Capitol Hill Democrats did change America; absent from ‘ALL’ earlier Presidents combined. 

Democrats should join in.  Democrats are failing to find illegal activity, with supportive evidence, against Republicans. 

Democrats must clean up their own deceit before searching the GOP.  These GOP ponds are near dry and without corruption. 

Democrats should direct their politics joining President Trump’s ‘Make America Great Again’.

Moving forward from former FBI Director Jamey Comey's Senate testimony last week, here are several developing stories.
          Democrats and their cohorts in the mainstream media are involved in a slight-of-hand attempt to shift their anti-Trump narrative away from Russian collusion to one of "obstructing justice." The Democrats' excuse for pushing to have Comey testify was under the auspices of furthering the investigation into the now fast collapsing Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy. It's now more clear than ever that Democrats and the Leftmedia are on a witch-hunt seeking anything by which to justify their call for Trump's impeachment.
          Donald Trump called Comey a liar and declared that he is willing to testify under oath in his own defense. Last Friday at a news conference, Trump said that he was "100 percent" willing to testify about conversations with Comey, but also that Comey's testimony "showed no collusion, no obstruction." Trump tweeted, "Despite so many false statements and lies, total and complete vindication." He seems to be jumping at the chance of engaging in the battle of he-said, he-said. It will be interesting to see if this ends up with Trump testifying before the Senate under oath.
          Former AG Loretta Lynch is now in the spotlight. During Comey's testimony, he mentioned that he had been directed by Lynch to call the FBI's investigation into liar-Hillary Clinton as a "matter" and not an "investigation." On Sunday, Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-CA) responded to the question of whether Lynch was "giving cover to the liar-Clinton campaign," saying it gave her a "queasy feeling" and that there needed to be a "separate investigation" opened into the potential of Lynch having engaged in obstruction of justice, not to mention political collusion. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) agreed with Feinstein's sentiments, stating, "If the attorney general's office has become political, that is bad for us all. So I want to get to the bottom of that, and it should be in [the] Judiciary [Committee]."
          Finally, Trump quickly picked up on the former FBI director's statement outing himself as a leaker, tweeting, "I believe the James Comey leaks will be far more prevalent than anyone ever thought possible. Totally illegal? Very 'cowardly!'" This appears to be the narrative that the Trump administration will hit hard, and not surprisingly given the massive problem leaks have caused Trump since he won the election. And statements on leaking to the press are proving to paint Comey as vindictive, not honorable.

{npr.org} ~ Former FBI director James Comey may have done more damage to Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Thursday than even President Trump, whom Comey publicly accused of waving him off part of the Russia investigation.

Comey said he expected Sessions to recuse himself from the Russia investigation weeks before he did because of reasons that are classified. That does not comport with Sessions rationale when he announced his recusal in early March.

Sessions has been the subject of scrutiny over his failure to disclose meetings with Russian ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak during the 2016 campaign, which Sessions has defended as routine — part of his duties as a U.S. senator.

In his opening statement to the Senate Intelligence Committee, released on Wednesday, Comey detailed a private conversation with President Trump in the Oval Office shortly after National Security Advisor Michael Flynn was forced to resign, in which Comey recalls the president saying, "I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go. He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go.

This has raised questions as to why Comey didn't tell others, including the attorney general. Comey said in his opening statement that his leadership team at the FBI agreed not to share this with Sessions for the following reason: "We concluded it made little sense to report it to Attorney General Sessions, who we expected would likely recuse himself from involvement in Russia-related investigations."

Comey also pointed out that they were right – Sessions recused himself from the Russia investigation less than two weeks later.

The question is why Sessions recused himself.

Democrats on the Senate Intelligence Committee took advantage of Comey's mention of this in his opening statement to raise such questions about Sessions' recusal on Thursday.

"What was it about the attorney general's interactions with the Russians or his behavior with regard to the investigation that would have led the entire leadership of the FBI to make this decision?" asked Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore.

Comey responded, "He was very close to and inevitably going to recuse himself for a variety of reasons. We also were aware of facts that I can't discuss in an open setting that would make his continued engagement in a Russia-related investigation problematic."

The prospect of facts that would be problematic for Sessions seems to vary for the reason Sessions himself gave when he recused himself from the Russia probe on March 2.

"I should not be involved in investigating a campaign I had a role in," Sessions said. His rationale was that his role as a high-profile surrogate and advisor for the Trump campaign made it inappropriate for him to be involved in an investigation of that same campaign, a rationale which received little pushback, except reportedly from the president himself.

In fact, Sessions' recusal came after he said in his confirmation hearing that he "did not have communications with the Russians." Sessions had met with Kislyak twice during 2016, though Sessions said his misstatement was a result of the fact that he met with Kislyak in his role as a senator involved in foreign policy.

"I never had meetings with Russian operatives or Russian intermediaries about the Trump campaign," Sessions said in March.

The Department of Justice put out a statement Thursday evening, asserting that Sessions' "participation in President Trump's campaign" was the sole reason for his recusal.

"Shortly after being sworn in, Attorney General Sessions began consulting with career Department of Justice ethics officials to determine whether he should recuse himself from any existing or future investigations of any matters related in any way to the campaigns for President of the United States," the statement said.

Democrats pounced on Thursday after hearing Comey's suggestive language about "facts that I can't discuss in an open setting."

"The hearing raised serious questions about Attorney General Sessions that he and the Justice Department must answer immediately," Senate Minority Leader Chuck clown-Schumer said in a floor speech shortly after the hearing with Comey ended. "The Senate Intelligence Committee investigation and special counsel Mueller ought to get to the bottom of this matter."

The White House stood behind Sessions. Deputy White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked if Trump has confidence in his attorney general, a question press secretary Sean Spicer would not answer earlier in the week.

"Absolutely, the president has confidence in all of his cabinet and if he didn't, they wouldn't be here," Sanders said on Thursday.

Sessions will soon face questions from senators. He is scheduled to testify on Tuesday in a committee hearing about the 2018 budget for the Department of Justice — but it's a pretty sure bet that Russia will come up.

Bastiat: Proving yet again the federal government's uncanny ability to transform billions of dollars of taxpayers' hard-earned income into useless piles of poo, another spendthrift arm of the federal government — here, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) — is drawing well-deserved fire for its fiscal buffoonery. On the heels of its teeth-jarring smackdown in May by the Transportation Department Inspector General (IG) for falling decades behind in its mandate to modernize the U.S. National Airspace System (NAS) — the so-called "NextGen" NAS modernization program — the FAA suffered yet another blow last week, this time delivered by President Donald Trump.
          No doubt the president was mindful of the reasons cited by the IG for the FAA's failures: "Overambitious plans, unreliable cost and schedule estimates, unstable requirements, software development problems, poorly defined benefits, and ineffective contract and program management." So Trump proposed separating air traffic control (ATC) from the FAA, privatizing the airspace-services component from the rest. The new service would be governed by a nonprofit organization with a board of directors made up of ATC-service stakeholders, leaving the FAA's regulatory and standards-creating functions intact to form the "new" FAA.
          This makes a lot of sense: Both ATC and NAS (sequencing and routing) are really services provided to users of the nation's airspace. Privatizing them — as more than 50 other nations worldwide have already done — is the best way to ensure funds provided for such services are used efficiently. Meanwhile, the FAA would still oversee the national safety standards the privatized component would be required to meet.
          The alternative of course is the status quo: taxpayer-supported FAA waste. We've endured that clown act for roughly half a century now. Alluding to this fact, the president bluntly noted, "We live in a modern age, but our air traffic control system is stuck, painfully, in the past. ... At a time when every passenger has GPS technology in their pockets, our air traffic control system still runs on radar and ground-based radio systems that they don't even make anymore — they can't even fix anymore — and many controllers must use slips of paper to track our thousands and thousands of planes that are up in the air."
          By "radar" the president was referring to the vast junkyard of antiquated ATC radars strewn about the U.S., and by "radio" he was alluding to the fact pilots must still talk to — versus datalink, text or auto-uplink/downlink information with — ATC controllers. That last fact may sound trivial, but as more transmitters from more aircraft crowd the limited communication channels remaining, less clearly communicated instructions and readbacks will be received by end-listeners. The result is, and will continue to be, delays, confusion and potentially dangerous situations, all generated from comm-crowding on inefficient voice channels. In contrast, silent, non-"comm-jammed" data-linked paths and text-driven instructions are much more efficient and clear, yet the U.S. is decades behind other nations in these capabilities.
          The con-side argument to fee-based, non-profit-privatized ATC/NAS services is that the "little guy" — the private or recreational pilot — might get crushed by "fee-based" ATC/NAS services. The concern is understandable, but misplaced.
          First, and frankly, it's an argument based in emotion and fear, not in fact. The non-profit board will be composed of stakeholders, including those from general aviation. In fact, in the proposed board the air transport industry will hold no more than two of the 12 seats.
          Second, no evidence has surfaced among any of the 50+ nations that have already modernized their ATC/NAS services that general aviation has suffered from the fee-based services themselves. That's notwithstanding vague assertions about general aviation users' "getting squeezed," or anecdotal claims citing one country's practices and then generalizing those practices to the U.S. using apples-and-oranges analogies.
          Many in the general aviation community do not want user-based fees because they believe the current system "works fine" — for them. As Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) President and CEO Mark Baker put it, "The U.S. has a very safe air traffic system today and we don't hear complaints from our nearly 350,000 members about it." But this statement dismisses the root issue: an outdated system, which currently causes the loss of billions of dollars in inefficiencies across the entire span of the most densely populated airspace system on the planet.
          Of course, the "devil's in the details," but if the current, bloated FAA budget — which has doubled in recent years while maintaining the same number of air traffic control facilities — could be slashed in favor of a more efficient, higher-technology, privatized system, benefits would flow to every airspace user, not just "the big guys." Yes, general aviation would then be held, like everybody else, to fee-based use. But many other taxes, fees and costs would disappear virtually overnight — as they have in Canada and Europe. Canada, particularly, is instructive, as it enjoys ATC fees among the lowest in the world.
          Were U.S. airspace not the most extensively used on Earth, perhaps such an outdated, Soviet-class bureaucracy as the FAA's would be adequate to maintain and modernize U.S. ATC and NAS services. But considering the fact that almost 100,000 flights carry roughly two-million passengers across U.S. skies each day, yesterday's systems surely cannot meet today's demands — let alone tomorrow's. Congress needs to approve privatizing U.S. ATC/NAS services. The sooner, the better.

A prominent Muslim American political activist is included on a list of 75 terrorists issued by a Libyan parliamentary committee.

Esam Omeish is a former president of the Muslim American Society and remains a prominent figure at the Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Falls Church, Va. He is among 75 people the Libyan House of Representatives’ Defense and National Security Committee labeled Friday as enemies.

Libya’s government remains fragmented, with the House of Representatives based in a city called Tobruk. It is considered closely aligned with Egypt.

Omeish is the 29th name listed on the terror list and is described as an “international member of the Muslim Brotherhood.” Another American, Aly Abuzaakouk, appears just after Omeish’s, also identified as an international Muslim Brotherhood member.

Omeish formerly served as president of the Muslim American Society (MAS), which insiders have acknowledged is the Muslim Brotherhood’s overt arm in the United States. In a December Facebook comment, Omeish wrote  that Muslims “have not known of the people of Islam … those more just in understanding, wider in approach and closer in application than the Muslim Brotherhood. We have not known of humane brotherliness and its people, (and we are affiliated with all men whom Allah has created a propensity for love, mercy, an upright disposition, good morals and honorable character) better in ethics, of gentler parts, deeper in adherence to duty, nobler in morals among all their sons, and every one of their actions than the Muslim Brotherhood.”

Last year, he advocated that the U.S. support for a group known variably as the “Revolutionary Shura Council,” or the “Mujahideen Shura of Derna,” despite ties between its officials and al-Qaida. Egypt’s air force bombed the group last month in retaliation for terror attacks against Coptic Christians in April.

Abuzaakouk also has deep Muslim Brotherhood connections. He has served as executive director of the American Muslim Council (AMC), and publications director for the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT). He became foreign minister of the Muslim Brotherhood-dominated Government of National Salvation based in Tripoli after dictator Muammar Gaddafi fell. That group opposes the internationally recognized government in Tobruk.

The AMC was founded in part by Mahmoud Abu Saud, who helped Hassan al-Banna create the Brotherhood in Egypt, the Washington Post reported in 2004. FBI officials have long suspected that the IIIT housed leading Brotherhood officials in the United States.

Despite his overt support for “the jihad way” and for the Brotherhood, Omeish has been close to Kaine for at least a decade. When Kaine was Virginia’s governor in 2007, Omeish was forced to resign from a state immigration panel after Investigative Project on Terrorism video showed him praising Palestinians during a 2000 rally for knowing that “the jihad way is the way to liberate your land.”
