Maryland: Muslim immigrant & developer face lawsuit for selling homes to Muslims only

JOPPATOWNE, Md. — Dueling legal complaints and allegations of Islamophobia have marred an unfinished retirement community in Maryland after homes were sold only to Muslims.

Planners say interest in the River Run development was strong before stalled county permits halted construction. Some elected officials and residents complained that the community violated fair-housing laws.

Stuck in the middle are Muslims who put down deposits to live in the quiet neighborhood overlooking the Gunpowder River — and non-Muslims who already live there.

The River Run development is slated for about 35 wooded acres in Joppatowne, Md., a community of about 12,000 people 20 miles northeast of Baltimore. More than 56 homes were approved for the lot more than a decade ago, but the project fell into disrepair after just four homes were built when a previous developer folded.

Then, last year, 46-year-old Faheem Younus, an infectious-disease doctor and an immigrant from Pakistan, teamed up with a different developer [Gemcraft Homes] to build a retirement community for older Ahmadiyya Muslims, adherents of a branch of Islam who preach tolerance and face repression from other Muslims around the world.

“There are many Jewish, Christian communities — we’re not reinventing the wheel here,” Younus said.

After a nationwide search, Younus settled on River Run. With a planned mosque and views of the river, the development offered what was advertised as a “peace village” for people 55 and older.

“This will be a community of 49 spacious brand new homes (Villas) for Ahmadi Muslims with a dedicated mosque within walking distance,” read a website this year advertising the community. That language was later removed, replaced with an update that touted an “audio feed from the adjacent mosque” for the daily call to prayer — before that language also was removed.

Some elected officials and residents, however, complained, saying the planned community violated fair-housing laws. Others questioned whether their town should open its arms to a neighborhood initially designed for Muslims.

Real estate agent Gina Pimentel filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development last month, claiming she couldn’t get information about the River Run units because Younus was “unlawfully privately marketing and selling only to Ahmadi Muslims.”

In an interview, Pimentel said she is not worried about Muslims living in the community, but about her business. She can’t earn a commission if she can’t sell homes, she said, and she was also concerned that lenders charging market interest rates might be cut out by Islamic rules against usury.

Elected officials entered the debate, including Maryland Del. Richard K. Impallaria (R-Baltimore County), who held two meetings about the community last month. Impallaria said the controversy is not about faith, but fairness.

“The leading problem on this project is the housing discrimination,” he said. “We really don’t need a group of people coming in that’s going to isolate themselves from the rest of the community — come in and do an end run around state, federal, county laws. It’s not a good way to start out as a good neighbor.”

At several town hall meetings, Younus and two fellow Ahmadis responded as about 25 residents asked about mortgages, diversity and Islam.

Younus said there were many misconceptions about the Joppatowne retirement community. River Run is open to everyone, he said, and was initially marketed only to Ahmadis because demand was high, which meant further advertising was unnecessary. Its planned mosque would now be a community center, he said.

The meeting occasionally grew heated. One man wearing a Rolling Stones T-shirt challenged Younus about the definition of “jihad.”

“Jihad is a war on the infidel, and I am the infidel,” he said. (The man declined to give his name to The Washington Post, calling it the “lying press.”)

There’s more, but what a better place to stop as WAPO is indeed part of the lying press. The Ahmidiyas are lying about jihad and the Koran too.

REPORT: Hillary Clinton’s Campaign, DNC Funded Trump Dossier. Here’s What You Need To Know.

A new report released on Tuesday evening claims that the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) helped pay for the largely unproven Trump-Russia dossier which contains wild and salacious claims and was used as the basis for starting an investigation into Trump’s campaign for alleged ties to Russian officials.

The bombshell report from The Washington Post comes just days after Clinton told C-SPAN that President Trump and Fox News were trying to distract the nation from the “real Russian ties between Trump associates and real Russians,” and that the real story was how “nervous” the Trump administration was becoming.

In that vein, here is what you need to know from The Washington Post’s report:

• Marc E. Elias, an attorney who represented Clinton’s campaign and the DNC, used Fusion GPS to conduct “research” on then-candidate Donald Trump.
• According to sources, Fusion GPS hired former British intelligence official Christopher Steele to compile the dossier.
• Elias reportedly retained Fusion GPS starting in April 2016 “on behalf of the Clinton campaign and the DNC” — right before Trump became the GOP presumptive nominee — all the way until the end of October 2016.
• Prior to working for the Clinton campaign and the DNC, Fusion GPS began researching Trump and was funded by “a still unknown Republican client.”
• While it is still unknown how much was paid for the dossier, the Post alleges that the Clinton campaign and the DNC paid Elias’ law firm, Perkins Coie, a total of $9.2 million from June 2015 through December 2016.
• The Post claims that neither the Clinton campaign nor the DNC directed Steele’s activities who then shared some of his findings with officials at the FBI.
• “After the election, the FBI agreed to pay Steele to continue gathering intelligence about Trump and Russia, but the bureau pulled out of the arrangement after Steele was publicly identified in news reports,” the Post reports.

Other important facts to remember about the dossier:

• Evidence suggests Fusion GPS was paid by Russia while compiling the Trump dossier, which is important because, if true, it destroys the narrative that Russia was trying to help Trump win.
• Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) “who was informed about the existence of the documents separately by an intermediary from a western allied state, dispatched an emissary overseas to meet the source and then decided to present the material to Comey in a one-on-one meeting on 9 December, according to a source aware of the meeting,” The Guardian reported.
• Fusion GPS sent their “findings” to The New York Times, The Washington Post, Yahoo, The New Yorker, and CNN, who all initially refused to publish them.

Fusion GPS also does not have the most credible and ethical track record. The firm is accused of “spreading misinformation, disinformation and smears” by a Venezuelan journalist who claimed Fusion GPS tried to ruin him after he reported on a company that hired the firm, Fox News reported. The Venezuelan journalist, Alek Boyd, told Fox News that Fusion GPS labeled him as a “pedophile,” “extortionist,” and “drug trafficker” after he exposed corruption inside one of Fusion’s clients.

As a strong Trump deplorable, I think I am going to be sick over Trump's support for killing a new rule allowing class-action lawsuits against banks. What is he thinking? His flimsy excuse for supporting this U.S. Chamber of Crypto-Fascist, Crony Commerce sponsored legislation is to avoid litigation costs, which would simply be passed down to consumers. What nonsense! Even if that was true, market competition would deal with this issue, assuming there still is a robust competition within the banking industry -- which I doubt.
My hat's off to the Democrats for finally standing up for middle-class, working Americans. Keep this up and they might win a few more elections.

Navarro responded to Waters’ threat, saying she should be arrested.

“I’m calling for the arrest of Maxine Waters. Let’s get ready for it,” Navarro tweeted.

“Secret Service should call for Maxine Waters immediate resignation after these comments. We don’t need lip service,” he had tweeted previously.

Navarro is doing his best to draw attention to the fact that Waters is completely unfit for office. He faces an uphill battle in his bid to win in California’s extremely leftist 43rd district. When he challenged Waters in 2016, he was soundly defeated, with Waters collecting 76% of the votes, while Omar only received 24%.

Navarro did find some support from Lawrence Jones, who during a Fox News appearance warned that Water’s comments could inspire people to “assassinate Republicans”.

Hungary PM about Soros and Muslim migrant invasion: “Never underestimate the power of the dark side”

Major tensions are heating up between George Soros and Hungarian leader Viktor Orban. Orban warned: “’We should never underestimate the power of the dark side’…. referencing Star Wars as he referred to the plots of those behind the migrant invasion, adding that they ‘have no solid structure but extensive networks.’”

Viktor Orban also stated:

The European Union, the European Commission must regain independence from the Soros Empire before the billionaire finishes his program for the destruction of the continent.

A couple of days ago Jihad Watch reported that Hungarian MP István Hollik stated fears that Soros would use his organization Open Society Foundations (OSF) — the second largest political activist charity in the world — to “influence” Hungary’s 2018 general election, force out Orban, and fling open the doors to Muslim migrants. Soros, who is Hungarian-American, just transferred 18 billion dollars into the OSF. Another Hungarian MP, Andras Aradszki, referred to Soros as “Satan.”

Orban has remained refreshingly resolute about preventing the onslaught of Muslim immigration into his country. He is determined to preserve Hungary’s democracy, safety and culture, even in the face of EU threats of punishment for “failing” to take in its so-called fair share of Muslim migrants. Poland has done the same, with assurances of help from Hungary.
