Blame Congress for Trump’s 100-Day Bust

( Remember there is a election for Congress in 2018!!! Time for the American People to draw the swamp  )

Principles for a Free Society

Friday morning, the House of Representatives easily passed a one-week continuing resolution to avoid a partial government shutdown. The Senate followed suit on the bill, and in so doing proved the utter futility of Republican control of Congress in the first 100 days of Donald Trump’s presidency.

While the media will hang the apparent lack of Trump’s legislative accomplishments on the necks of the administration, ultimately this is not a failure of the executive branch. In this constitutional republic, it is Congress that holds the legislative power; the House of Representatives and Senate make the laws. They are responsible for the legislative policy of the Trump administration, and they’ve blown the first 100 days.

The failed negotiations over the spending bill Congress must now take up next week is the capstone on congressional Republican incompetence and the failed leadership of Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis.. The Republican Party has not received a single concession from the Democrats to implement any of President Trump’s agenda … and they will not.

Democrats succeeded in bullying the GOP, threatening a government shutdown over border-wall funding and other “poison pill” riders.

“Our position has been clear, and it’s nothing new: no poison pill riders. The sooner we can resolve this issue, the quicker we can have an agreement on appropriations for 2017, so I object,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said on the Senate floor Thursday. Schumer prevented the Senate from automatically approving the short-term continuing resolution on grounds that changes to environmental regulations and Dodd-Frank protections are unacceptable.

While the Democrats fight to protect every inch of the leviathan federal government they explicitly support, the Republicans – who pretend to seek to put up a fight on the campaign trail – roll over once they have to take a tough vote.

Observe what has become of the Republican agenda, as timid or cowardly GOP members refuse to fight for smaller government.

Obamacare repeal? That promise was broken and now seems delayed indefinitely, as liberal Republicans fight to keep the core parts of the law they like, and are otherwise afraid of making major changes to any entitlements.

Tax reform? The big announcement that came from Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and White House adviser Gary Cohn Wednesday left out the important details, as both administration officials had nothing but vague answers for reporters and essentially said Congress is “working on it.”

Build the wall? Republicans capitulated after Democrats’ threats to shut down the government.

Speaking of government spending, where is the budget? Where is the congressional action on President Trump’s skinny budget? Why is a Republican-controlled Congress still using soft continuing resolutions to pass short-term spending in place of hard budgets and a return to separate appropriations bills? That’s another broken promise.

What cuts to government spending are happening? None. Why does Planned Parenthood remain funded? Because Democrats will shut down the government to fight for baby murder. But you won’t hear a single Republican speak in those terms.

And then there are the 127 federal court vacancies that need filling. Where is the Trump administration on nominating conservative judges to fill those vacancies? Where is the Senate on taking those nominations up?

Apologists for Congress’ (lack of) accomplishments in the first 100 will note the regulations that have been repealed under the Congressional Review Act. Trump has signed 13 reversals of Obama administration policies into law.

But were Republicans actually interested in dealing a unifying, single blow to the administrative state, the Senate would take up the REINS Act.

The REINS Act is legislation designed to require regulators to seek congressional approval for their most expensive regulations. It passed the House of Representatives in early January, and since then the Senate hasn’t budged on it. What gives?

President Trump promised to “work hard to get it passed” on the campaign trail.

“I will sign the REINS Act should it reach my desk as President and more importantly I will work hard to get it passed,” Trump previously told American Commitment President Phil Kerpen. “The monstrosity that is the Federal Government with its pages and pages of rules and regulations has been a disaster for the American economy and job growth. The REINS Act is one major step toward getting our government under control.”

Nearly every Republican agrees that regulations need to be scaled back, and to a large degree that has been the focus of the Trump administration’s executive actions. But when it comes to legislation from Congress, Republicans are taking time to repeal several regulations individually instead of pursuing sweeping conservative reforms.

The U.S. Senate has not even been in session for 100 days this year. Including weekends, the Senate has taken 54 days off since the session began in January. What have they done to deserve the vacation time?

Like it or not, voters are going to demand that this Congress make the legislative trains run on time before the 2018 midterm elections. Given the GOP’s failure to keep basic promises so far, with no change on the horizon, what campaign promises can Republicans make in 2018 that voters will believe?

We will soon find out if “at least we’re not Democrats” is enough to get Republicans elected in this country. (For more from the author of “Blame Congress for Trump’s 100-Day Bust”ease click HERE) http://joemiller.us/2017/05/blame-congress-trumps-100-day-bust/

{rickwells.us} ~ Tucker Carlson was surprised when Richard Dreyfuss emailed him one night and offered to come onto his program... and “explain this rudimentary explanation of the basic checks and balances to you and your audience.” So Carlson took him up on his offer, inviting him on. Carlson notes that Dreyfuss attended Oxford, studied civics, knows a lot about the Constitution and is a smart guy. He asks his opening question, “But where in the Constitution does it say states can do whatever they want in contravention of federal law and the rest of us have to be quiet and pay for it anyway? Dreyfuss replies that it doesn’t say that. It simply says that the monies attached to things that the executive might want are the province of the Congress...

{rickwells.us} ~ Sheriff David Clarke of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, is reportedly under consideration for a position with the Department of Homeland Security, that of Assistant Secretary at the DHS Office of Partnership and Engagement... That office coordinates interaction and outreach to state, local and tribal officials and law enforcement. Clarke has often said he’d serve if called upon and met with President Trump in Trump Tower last November. He spoke at the Republican Convention in Cleveland. With the pace of the confirmation process thus far under the obstructionist stunts of Senate Minority Leader Chuck clown-Schumer being just beyond that of standing still, it’s fortunate that no Senate confirmation is required for the position. One senior administration official cautioned it’s “not a done deal yet,” and there will likely be an effort by Democrats to derail the high-profile supporter of President Trump...

Senator Joni Ernst

by Peggy Noonan
{peggynoonan.com} ~ No sooner do you remember never to join a pile-on than you wonder if you shouldn’t start one. Bill O’Reilly’s departure this week from Fox News is a real blow to piggishness, and I believe that must be said. He has denied all allegations, but the number of them over the years, and the $13 million in reported payouts, suggests a clear and obvious pattern of sexual harassment. This follows the retirement of Roger Ailes, who left under a similar cloud. I don’t know what was in the water over there, but it wasn’t good, it was poisonous, and I’m glad they’re doing environmental cleanup.

A lot of life is murky. Good things can come from mixed motives, bad things from clean ones. You can hold in your head the knowledge that all prominent conservatives are, essentially, a target in a media matrix dominated by ideological views that are not conservative—isn’t that a nice way to say it?—and yet be happy something bad has been thwarted. You can be aware that the exposé that triggered Mr. O’Reilly’s fall came in the form of a deeply reported piece in this newspaper’s chief competitor—it is the second-greatest newspaper in America—and you can suspect its focus on a Fox News star was fueled, at least in part, by both animal spirits and ideological animus. But you can still feel satisfaction that a culture of looking the other way has for the moment been defeated.

And again, this ought to be said. It is not conservative to be a pig. It is piggish to be a pig. You owe pigs nothing. So say the obvious.

We thus segue to the observation that Republican officeholders should by now have figured out how to speak about our ever-interesting president, and most have not. They think since he is a Republican and they are Republican, they must defend him on all things. They are looking at it wrong. He is Donald Trump. He is not “a Republican.” He is a wholly unusual historical figure who happened to them, and who now heads their party. They owe him an eager and open-minded willingness to work with him, to create helpful legislation, to join in debate and support him on areas of mutual conviction. They do not owe him a thing in terms of covering for his gaffes or oddnesses, mistakes or failures. They should not defend him on his tax returns unless they think he is right not to reveal them. They should not defend him on his refusal to make public the White House visitor’s logs—unless, bizarrely, they think that constitutes good public policy.

Being loyal isn’t being a lickspittle.

The president has a base of support. They’re with him and will give him time before they detach—if they detach. They hope for big, serious changes in policy. But they are not children. They are not unaware of his faults and weaknesses. Treat them with respect by speaking to them like adults.

Make clear you want to work with Mr. Trump but won’t cover for him. If the president doesn’t like it, and lashes out, so what? He’ll tweet that you’re not attractive. Laugh and say: “That’s what my mother said. But I have great hopes we can work together to reform our tax system. Best, Unattractive Tom.”

The first to break the code has been Iowa’s junior senator, Joni Ernst. This week she was back home doing her 99-county tour. In a community center in Wall Lake she was peppered with questions about Mr. Trump. Asked about his showy meetings with foreign leaders at Mar-a-Lago, she gently replied: “I do wish he would spend more time in Washington, D.C. That is what we have the White House for.” She conceded his “character flaws.” She said she supports “a majority of the policies versus the actual person.”

In a telephone interview this week she noted there was no “secret meaning” in her Mar-a-Lago criticism. “He spends too much money coming and going, and if we’re preaching about spending, we need to be following that.” One of the first questions in Wall Lake came from an anti-Trump constituent. He asked Ms. Ernst about “your president.” She responded, “It is our president. Mike Pence is our vice president.” She added, “Just as Barack liar-nObama was my president and my commander in chief.” A man asked how she could support a president who treats women as he does. “I said we would be hard pressed to find a president who doesn’t have flaws, I can’t excuse him.”

She is not, she told me, distancing herself from the president. “I’m just pointing out what I’ve observed in response to honest questions Iowans are asking. He’s my president. I will work with him. But we have to be honest, he is a flawed human being, just like everyone else.”

I close with a connected thought, on the president’s tweets. He hasn’t tweeted anything crazy lately, but he surely will again. He seems to grow anxious when he has an unexpressed thought. The next time he does it, reporters will rush as they always do to administration officials and Republican members of Congress, and demand a response.

Staffers and Hill people have mostly felt personally, professionally and politically obliged to refrain from criticizing the tweets.

They should stop feeling that way. They should not try to explain and defend. It does them no good—and it does him no good.

Staffers, throw yourself on the grenade. When pressed for a response, try: “Those of us who care about the president are often puzzled by his tendency to send out these sometimes strange and obnoxious thoughts. I wish he wouldn’t. You’ll have to ask him about it in the next press conference. I myself don’t do tweet commentary. I leave that to you.” If you are a congressman or senator and the president decides to tweet about Arnold Schwarzenegger, Miss Universe or Kim Jong Un, consider saying this: “You’ll have to take that up with the president. I think he sounds like a fool.”

If you’re a staffer and say that, you’ll get fired. But you’ll have shown some style and helped the country. You’ll for the first time get some respect, and will be able to support your family and go on to a good living while having rescued your reputation. The first paragraph of your obituary, years hence, will say you were fired for speaking the truth, not that you were embarrassing back in the Trump era.

It will help the president. He doesn’t really like to do things he knows will hurt him, but he has a hard time retaining the information that his tweets have that effect. He thinks they helped make him president and help him govern. He’s wrong. After the first firing he’ll realize there’ll be a price to the second and third.

When being loyal involves not stating obvious truths, maybe you’re being loyal to the wrong thing.

Being truthful is moral and good. It comes, for both speaker and listener, as a refreshment. Or in the practical, strategic language political figures respect, candor is the new cleverness. Everyone’s had it with evasions and circumlocutions. Stop. Say it true and keep walking.

{theconservativetreehouse.com} ~ The State Department plans to cut 2,300 U.S. diplomats and civil servants -- about 9 percent of the Americans in its workforce worldwide -- as Secretary of State Rex Tillerson presses ahead... with his task of slashing the agency’s budget, according to people familiar with the matter. The majority of the job cuts, about 1,700, will come through attrition, while the remaining 600 will be done via buyouts, according to the people, who asked not to be identified because the decision hasn’t been publicly announced. William Inglee, a former Lockheed Martin Corp. official and policy adviser in Congress, is overseeing the budget cuts and briefed senior managers on the plan Wednesday, the people said. The personnel cuts, which may be phased in over two years, represent the most concrete step taken by Tillerson as he seeks to reverse the expansion the department saw under former President Barack liar-nObama’s administration and meet President Donald Trump’s demand... https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2017/04/28/report-secretary-t-rex-begins-reducing-state-dept-bureaucrats/

 by David Limbaugh
{wnd.com} ~ The totalitarian left is emboldened by its selective suppression of speech. Just as scary is the deluded thought process that inspires its Stalinism.

Recognizing its inability to compete in the marketplace of ideas, the left has been chipping away for years at the concept of free speech. You have to give leftists points for cleverness, not to mention persistence, because they don’t openly advocate censoring conservative speech as such. They pretend to be protecting some greater good or preventing imminent harm to certain groups.

When they failed in talk radio, they resurrected the Fairness Doctrine, which is euphemistically disguised as a policy to ensure the presentation of all viewpoints but is actually a sinister ploy to dilute the power of conservative talk. They always have some excuse – and plausible deniability.

They protest conservative speakers or those easily demonized as conservatives on college campuses, arguing that conservative “hate speech” can lead to violence against certain groups. No one wants violence, so we must muzzle conservative political speech, right?

But it’s patently absurd to contend that everyday conservative speech is “hate speech” and that it leads to violence. It is pernicious nonsense. What’s worse is that these speech cops don’t acknowledge their own hypocrisy in committing violence – the very harm they claim to be preventing – to prevent speech that allegedly could lead to violence. Let’s just burn some buildings down and smash some skulls in to show just how adamant we are about preventing violence. I wish I were exaggerating.

But the thought-control zealots are now coming up with even more bizarre rationalizations to curb competitive speech. In a recent New York Times op-ed, New York University provost Ulrich Baer argues: “The idea of freedom of speech does not mean a blanket permission to say anything anybody thinks. It means balancing the inherent value of a given view with the obligation to ensure that other members of a given community can participate in discourse as fully recognized members of that community. Free-speech protections – not only but especially in universities, which aim to educate students in how to belong to various communities – should not mean that someone’s humanity, or their right to participate in political speech as political agents, can be freely attacked, demeaned or questioned.”

You may consider that to be psychobabble. What would you expect from an academic who describes himself in the same piece as “a scholar of literature, history and politics”? But I digress.

Let’s try to decipher what he’s saying. To do so, we must understand that like so many leftists, Baer cannot avoid viewing these matters through the grid of identity politics; everything must be evaluated in terms of how it affects minorities or historically oppressed groups.

Even though one could define unfettered freedom of expression as “guaranteeing the robust debate from which the truth emerges,” we shouldn’t support it, Baer also says in the piece. Specifically, we shouldn’t protect speech that insults whole groups in an effort to discredit and delegitimize them “as less worthy of participation in the public exchange of ideas.” He seems to be saying that if you discredit groups of people with your speech, then you unlevel the playing field to the point that any speech these groups express will be less valuable and effective.

We must weigh the “inherent value” of ideas against the dangerous possibility that these ideas could discredit other groups and thereby effectively silence them, he says. Thus, a “pure model of free speech” presents a “clear and present” danger to our democracy.

So the republic is better-served if we allow certain ivory tower elites, with their worldly wisdom, to weigh the “inherent value” of speech to determine whether it should be protected. If it arguably demeans a certain group – and there are newly defined groups all the time in the left’s world – it is not worthy of protection.

Thus, the liberal thought police can decree that because anything conservative firebrand Ann Coulter would say at Berkeley on immigration or other topics would diminish other groups, it should not be protected. She’s a conservative, and conservative ideas don’t have much inherent value to liberals and, in their distorted world, also discredit certain groups. Voila! Shut her down. The sophistry is astounding.

I urge you not to miss the most stunning aspect of Baer’s specious analysis. The thrust of the left’s message against conservatives across the board is that because of our toxic ideas, we should be discredited and delegitimized “as less worthy of participation in the public exchange of ideas.”

Just as leftists support the commission of violence in the name of preventing speech that could arguably lead to it, they would muzzle us because through our speech, we would discredit and then effectively muzzle them. Insanity.

We don’t want to muzzle liberals; we want to defeat them in the marketplace of ideas. We don’t want to commit violence against them, but they often want to do so against us. Boy, how they project.

Let me ask you: In their world, who would decide whether certain speech has inherent value? The federal government, no doubt, provided Democrats are in control at the time. The true acid test of Baer’s preposterous arguments would be to ask how liberals would feel if Republicans were allowed to make such decisions while in control of the federal government. How would they feel if a conservative had written this silly, scary op-ed?

It is precisely because we can’t have certain self-appointed groups deciding what speech is worthy that we must vigorously protect “robust” political speech in this country. The Founding Fathers knew this, and everyone with common sense understands it. But the crazy modern left wants us to unlearn it – and leftists call us conservatives a danger to democracy.

Whatever you do, don’t casually dismiss Baer’s ideas as fringe. This is the way leftists think today – and they are the people teaching our university students, producing Hollywood movies and largely controlling the mainstream media. Wake up and be vigilant! And fight back!

Can PayPal Take My Money And Not Give It Back?

Yes, PayPal can take your money and not give it back. However, PayPal cannot say, “We are taking your money and not giving it back.” They give other seemingly legitimate reasons.

PayPal can make you pay for chargebacks that you are not responsible for, PayPal can take your funds to satisfy customer complaints, PayPal can charge you with violating one of their agreements and take $500 out of your PayPal account FOR EACH ACCUSATION OF “VIOLATION” made against you.

Usually, there is no appeal when such actions happen. You will not win with PayPal unless you decide to take legal action. However PayPal is careful on who they target: they will make sure they victimize somebody who is not likely to take them to court (i.e., the amount of money taken from you is less than what it would cost you to take them to court).

In effect, PayPal can make up any excuse that they want and force you to pay. They have complete control over your PayPal account. If they want to debit your account, they can.

When was the last time you heard ALL 100 U.S. Senators agree on anything?

In a letter to UN Secretary General António Guterres, all 100 US senators call for an end to ‘unacceptable’ anti-Israel bias, and request wide-ranging reforms of the biased international body. TIMES OF ISRAEL The strongly worded letter, authored by Marco Rubio (R-FL) (right) and Christopher A. Coons (D-DE) (left)and released on Friday, was signed by every member of the US Senate. “Through words and actions, we urge you to ensure that Israel is treated neither better nor worse than any other UN member in good standing,” the letter said, describing the “continued targeting of Israel” in the world body as “unacceptable.” Christopher A. Coons (D-DE) (left) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) (right) The letter urged several concrete steps to improve Israel’s treatment by the organization, singling out for criticism UNRWA, which deals with Palestinian refugees; the UN Human Rights Council for its singular focus on the Jewish state; and UNESCO, for denying Jewish ties to holy sites in Jerusalem. The senators called on the UN to eliminate or reform “a number of standing committees, which far too often serve no purpose other than to attack Israel and inspire the anti-Israel boycott, sanctions and divestment (BDS) movement.” The senators criticized the body for allowing its member states to “continue to advance measures that target Israel and deny the Jewish and Christian connections to Jerusalem.” The letter further stated that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) “must pursue reforms or risk significant consequences.” Jerusalem considers UNRWA one of the most problematic UN bodies. Israeli officials accuse the organization of colluding with the Hamas terror organization in Gaza and of facilitating anti-Jewish incitement and even terrorism against Israeli civilians in its school textbooks. More than one-third of UNRWA’s budget comes from the US. And “most troubling” of all, the senators maintained, is the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) which is “charged with shining a light on gross human rights violations.” The letter states that “the UNHRC — whose membership currently includes some of the world’s worst human rights violators — instead devotes time to unwarranted attacks against Israel.” The senators referred specifically to permanent agenda item VII which is devoted solely to lambasting Israel, “even as numerous other countries, including some represented on the Council, commit egregious human rights abuses against their citizens on a daily basis.” Although there is no direct threat of ending US funding, the letter notes that the US is the major contributor to international body. “As both the UN’s principal founding member and its largest contributor, the United States should insist on reform,” the letter said. “We are deeply committed to international leadership and to advancing respect for human rights. But continued targeting of Israel by the UN Human Rights Council and other UN entities is unacceptable.” The letter ended by saying that “the current situation must change. We urge you to engage member states in a comprehensive effort to directly confront and root out this bias.” The US Senate move was welcomed by Israel’s ambassador to the UN Danny Danon. “We thank our friends in the United States Senate for their unanimous and bipartisan support for Israel. Once again, America has stood strongly by Israel, and stood up for truth and justice. It is time to finally put an end to the UN’s biased approach towards Israel,” Danon said in a statement. Earlier this week, Guterres said the UN must rectify its bias against Israel at the United Nations. Speaking to delegates at the World Jewish Congress’s plenary assembly in New York, Guterres on Sunday vowed to stand up against anti-Israel bias at the world organization and said the Jewish state must be treated like any other member state. The UN chief said that as secretary-general, he would be “on the front lines in the fight against anti-Semitism,” which he warned was on the rise in Europe and America, and called “absolutely unacceptable.” He promised to “make sure that the United Nations is able to conduct all possible actions for anti-Semitism to be condemned, and if possible eradicated from the face of the earth.” US President Donald Trump has made defending the Jewish state a core tenet of his foreign policy. “I reject unfair and one-sided actions against Israel at the United Nations,” he said during his February 15 press conference with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington.

Top 20 Cities in U.S. Where Women and Girls at Risk for Female Genital Mutilate

( Muslimd do not assimilate, they infiltrate )

17

  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Google+

Why are these areas at at such high risk? Because they are designated gateway cities for Muslim refugee resettlement. This report was generated in February 2016 — it is a year later and worse. The gruesome practice of female genital mutilation is at record highs and on the rise in America, due to the influx of Muslim immigrants. It is incredible that the Center of Disease Control (CDC) and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) does not track cases of FGM at the state level. That is how deep the islamization of our state and federal agencies has gone.

FGM fact sheet:

The number of women and girls at risk for female genital mutilation (FGM) in the United States has more than doubled in the past 10 years. More than half a million women and girls in the U.S. are at risk of undergoing FGM in the U.S. or abroad, or have already undergone the procedure, including 166,173 under the age of 18, according to the Population Reference Bureau (PRB).

Dissemblers and deceivers claim that FGM is cultural phenomenon, not religious. FGM is an Islamic cultural phenomenon. FGM is found only within and adjacent to Muslim communities.

Unlike male circumcision, female genital mutilation has no health benefits for girls and women.

Female genital mutilation (FGM) involves partial or total removal of the clitoris, causing injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons.

Femal genital mutilation procedure has no health benefits for girls and women. It removes all possibility of sexual pleasure. It is the worst kind of misogyny.

Procedures can cause severe bleeding and problems urinating, and later cysts, infections, as well as complications in childbirth and increased risk of newborn deaths.

More than 200 million girls and women alive today have been cut in 30 countries in Africa, the Middle East and Asia, where FGM is concentrated

FGM is mostly carried out on young girls between infancy and age 15.

FGM is a violation of the human rights of girls and women.

FGM is found only within and adjacent to Muslim communities (source: Gerry Mackie, “Ending Footbinding and Infibulation: A Convention Account,” American Sociological Review).

How little do Americans (especially young people)  know about FGM. Watch this video:

Women and Girls at Risk of Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting in the United States

PRB, February 2016:

A new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report on female genital mutilation/cutting in the United States was released in January 2016, providing additional information on women and girls at risk.

(February 2016) Female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C), involving partial or total removal of the external genitals of girls and women for religious, cultural, or other nonmedical reasons, has devastating immediate and long-term health and social effects, especially related to childbirth. This type of violence against women violates women’s human rights. There are more than 3 million girls, the majority in sub-Saharan Africa, who are at risk of cutting/mutilation each year. In Djibouti, Guinea, and Somalia, nine in 10 girls ages 15 to 19 have been subjected to FGM/C. Some countries in Africa have recently outlawed the practice, including Guinea-Bissau, but progress in eliminating the harmful traditional practice has been slow.1 Although FGM/C is most prevalent in sub-Saharan Africa, global migration patterns have increased the risk of FGM/C among women and girls living in developed countries, including the United States.

Increasingly, policymakers, NGOs, and community leaders are speaking out against this harmful traditional practice. As more information becomes available about the practice, it is clear that FGM/C needs to be unmasked and challenged around the world.

The U.S. Congress passed a law in 1996 making it illegal to perform FGM/C and 23 states have laws against the practice.2 Despite decades of work in the United States and globally to prevent FGM/C, it remains a significant harmful tradition for millions of girls and women. In the last few years, renewed efforts to protect girls from undergoing this procedure globally and in immigrant populations have resulted in policy successes. In Great Britain and in other European countries, a groundswell of attention has focused on eradicating the practice among the large immigrant populations of girls and women who have been cut or are at risk of being cut. Moreover, in 2012 the 67th session of the UN General Assembly passed a resolution urging states to condemn all harmful practices that affect women and girls, especially FGM/C. The UN resolution was a significant step toward ending the practice around the world.

In the United States, efforts to stop families from sending their daughters to their home countries to be cut led to a 2013 law making it illegal to knowingly transport a girl out of the United States for the purpose of cutting. FGM/C has gained attention in the United States in part because of the rising number of immigrants from countries where FGM/C is prevalent, especially sub-Saharan Africa. Between 2000 and 2013, the foreign-born population from Africa more than doubled, from 881,000 to 1.8 million.3

The Risk of FGM/C in the United States

In 2013, there were up to 507,000 U.S. women and girls who had undergone FGM/C or were at risk of the procedure, according to PRB’s data analysis. This figure is more than twice the number of women and girls estimated to be at risk in 2000 (228,000).4 The rapid increase in women and girls at risk reflects an increase in immigration to the United States, rather than an increase in the share of women and girls at risk of being cut. The estimated U.S. population at risk of FGM/C is calculated by applying country- and age-specific FGM/C prevalence rates to the number of U.S. women and girls with ties to those countries. A detailed description of PRB’s methods to estimate women and girls at risk of FGM/C is available.

Just three sending countries—Egypt, Ethiopia, and Somalia—accounted for 55 percent of all U.S. women and girls at risk in 2013 (see Table 1). These three countries stand out because they have a combination of high FGM/C prevalence rates and a relatively large number of immigrants to the United States. The FGM/C prevalence rate for women and girls ages 15 to 49 is 91 percent in Egypt, 74 percent in Ethiopia, and 98 percent in Somalia. About 97 percent of U.S. women and girls at risk were from African countries, while just 3 percent were from Asia (Iraq and Yemen).

Girls under age 18 made up one-third of all females at risk of FGM/C in 2013. While some of these girls were born in countries with high prevalence rates, the majority are U.S.-born children of parents from high-prevalence countries. Anecdotal reports tell of U.S.-born girls being cut while on vacation in their parents’ countries of origin and of people traveling to the United States to perform FGM/C on girls here.5

The number of women and girls at risk varies widely across different states (see map). In 2013, about three-fifths of all women and girls at risk of FGM/C lived in eight states: California, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. California had the largest at-risk population (57,000), followed by New York (48,000), and Minnesota (44,000). Minnesota has a disproportionate number of women and girls at risk of FGM/C because of its large Somali immigrant population, estimated at more than 31,000 in 2013. See the number of women and girls at risk in each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia.

number of girls and women at risk of fgm/c varies widely across the united states

While the population at risk is still highly concentrated in large “gateway” states, many immigrant families have fanned out from traditional immigrant gateways to new destinations around the country. Some states also receive large numbers of African refugees. In fiscal year 2014, one-fourth of the 70,000 refugees arriving in the United States were from Africa.6

Most women and girls at risk of FGM/C are living in cities or suburbs of large metropolitan areas. In 2013, 40 percent of the population at risk lived in five metro areas: New York, Washington, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Los Angeles, and Seattle (see Table 2). See a list of the 50 metropolitan areas with the largest at-risk populations.

Looking Ahead

With the rise in international migration, the lines between issues facing women and girls in the U.S. and developing countries are blurred. Although FGM/C prevalence rates have held steady or declined in many African countries in recent years, the number of women and girls at risk of FGM/C in the United States is expected to increase in the future, as the foreign-born population from Africa increases.

Given the rapid growth of the youth population in developing countries, improving the well-being of girls has become a priority for many international organizations that promote gender equality and higher standards of living across the globe. Ending harmful practices against women and girls in developing countries could have a measurable impact on the well-being of immigrant families around the world.

Source: California Democrats Make Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day Disappear | Frontpage Mag

Monday April 24 was Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day and in Los Angeles thousands marched in the street outside the Turkish consulate. Up in Sacramento, ruling Democrats ignored the Armenians and instead held “Muslim Day at the Capitol,” hosted by the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

“Trump reignites ‘spirit of justice’ for Muslim Day at Capitol,” headlined the news article in the Sacramento Bee, whose April 24 edition included not a word about the Armenians’ day. As CAIR’s Yannina Casillas explained, “The election of Trump and the campaign in general kind of reignited a spirit of justice within the community that was very much dormant.  A lot of people are really interested in getting more involved.”

CAIR supports several bills now pending in the state legislature, including Senate Bill 54, which bars state or local law enforcement from using their resources to help federal immigration enforcement. The measure would “prohibit state and local law enforcement agencies, including school police and security departments, from using resources to investigate, interrogate, detain, detect, or arrest persons for immigration enforcement purposes.” The bill also requires public schools, libraries, health facilities and courthouses to adopt similar policies.

CAIR is also the co-sponsor of Senate Bill 31, which “would prohibit a state or local agency or a public employee acting under color of law from providing or disclosing to the federal government personal information regarding a person’s religious beliefs, practices, or affiliation, as specified, when the information is sought for compiling a database of individuals based on religious belief practice or affiliation, national origin, or ethnicity for law enforcement or immigration purposes.”

A press conference highlighted those measures and Assembly Bill 158, which requires law enforcement agencies to indicate whether an incident was “bias related,” supposedly an aide to more accurate reporting of “hate crimes.” As Yannina Casillas explained in the April 24 CAIR press release, “Our nation needs us to build a better, bolder future. We have our work cut out for us, but we are ready to act against fear. This is the time to roll up our sleeves and be courageous.”

California governor Jerry Brown, who has been pardoning criminal deportees, issued no official statement on the April 24 “Muslim Day” event.  Neither did state Attorney General Xavier Becerra, a favorite of CAIR and a supporter of sanctuary policies.

Government disrespect for Armenians is highly unusual in a state that is home to the largest Armenian community outside of the Armenian nation. More than 200,000 people of Armenian descent live in Los Angeles County alone and Armenians thrive in Fresno, home of the late novelist and playwright William Saroyan.

George Deukmejian served as California’s attorney general from 1979 to 1983 and as governor from 1983 to 1991. Deukmejian’s parents came to the United States in the early 1900s to escape the Armenian genocide, which claimed the life of his aunt. Many Californians have similar stories.

“When you’re Armenian, history is a loaded subject,” wrote Liz Ohanesian in the April 24 LA Weekly, “Ours is one that was almost erased.” As she wrote, “we commemorate the Armenian Genocide, in which 1.5 million ethnic Armenians in the Ottoman Empire were killed by their own government. Those who survived spread out across the globe,” including her own grandparents. Books on the genocide were “so brutally violent, so filled with hate, that I couldn’t forget them,” and “eerily similar” to her family’s ordeals.

For Armenians, Ohanesian wrote, “a group of people conspired to try and ensure that people like you don’t exist. Despite that, you are here.” The survivors and their offspring have been “tasked with keeping the Armenian story from ending.”  As the day of remembrance approached, nothing like that appeared in the Sacramento Bee and the Armenians got no help at all from the government of their state.

California’s government, meanwhile, has never celebrated an official “Armenian Day at the Capitol.” State Democrats are now willing to disrespect the Armenians while showing special favors to Muslims, the very religious group that attempted to exterminate the Armenians and is now the world’s leading persecutor of Christians and other religious groups. That is about as bad as it gets but in the Golden State things can always get worse.

Terror-linked CAIR has repeatedly done the same to blacks – hijacking MLK Day and making it a Muslim day – even though it was Arab Muslims who enslaved black Africans and still do to this day.

May Day protests and the counterrevolution

NOTEWhen writing about God and Jesus, The Daily Jot means YHVH as God and Yeshua Ha Mashiach as Jesus--the actual original names and the true nature and character of them.

Monday, May 1, 2017
Last May, there was a curious news photo attached to a story about how radical anarchist rioters were violently protesting an appearance by Republican primary presidential candidate Donald Trump. The photo was of a little Latino boy holding a sign that read, "Make America Mexico Again." This take off of Trump's campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again" spoke a thousand words. The George Soros MoveOn.org-sponsored communists, also supported by La Raza, Black Lives Matter, Communist Party USA and other radical anti-American groups, are using free speech to trample on the free speech of legitimate citizens who support a traditional and law-abiding ideal of America. They are at it again today.

May 1 traditionally has been declared International Workers Day. It's a day when labor unions, communists, socialists and anarchists gather together to show their "solidarity" for the working man, or woman, or gender de jour. The Democratic Party and the ex- "president" support these organizations. This year, in particular, there are mass angry protests across the country scheduled to make the world know that anyone who opposes this anti-American line of thought is, well, anti-American...in addition to bigots, Nazis, fascists, hate-mongers, racists, misogynists, homophobes, Islamophobes-Have I missed anybody? These protesters are all part of the communist plan to takeover America, whether they know it or not.

The protesters come wrapped in hate and destruction against Trump for his strong stance against illegal immigration. Last year, the Los Angeles Times quoted, Luis Serrano, an organizer with California Immigration Youth Justice Alliance, saying, "We're going to keep showing up and standing against the actions and the hate Donald Trump is creating. We are going to continue to just show up in numbers and stand together." So it is now "hateful" to enforce the law, but it was fine when a "president" allowed free medical, social services, and protected status to those with their minds set on overthrowing the government. The only ones creating hate here are those who are protesting--minions and pawns of the greater communist cause.

Crisis creates opportunities for greater governmental control, suspending civil rights in the name of security, the loss of a free nation. It becomes a vicious circle. The answer is the gospel-truly it is. Christians are orderly, God fearing and law abiding by virtue of the commandments we strive to live by. We need to do a better job in evangelizing and making disciples. Our form of government works when the moral and ethical are holding accountability. Romans 13:12 says, " The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light." We are in a fight for our preservation as a people and a nation. We need to change hearts to win it. It is our counterrevolution.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
Bill Wilson

liar-nObama's Lucrative Speech Fee Assailed by
 Leftists

Barack liar-nObama appears to be following in the footsteps of Bill and Hillary liar-Clinton, both of whom leveraged their political careers to rake in $100 million dollars through overpriced speaking fees. Already, liar-nObama has secured not one, but two, speeches for which he will earn a comfortable $400,000 apiece. Not bad for being "unemployed" for 99 days. By the way, liar-nObama is slated to receive a handsome $60 million for his forthcoming memoir.
In the "Audacity of Hope," liar-nObama proclaimed: "The path of least resistance — of fund-raisers organized by the special interests, the corporate PACs, and the top lobbying shops — starts to look awfully tempting, and if the opinions of these insiders don't quite jibe with those you once held, you learn to rationalize the changes as a matter of realism, of compromise, of learning the ropes." Fast forward to today and this statement sounds less like something he's opposing and more like a great description of his presidency.
Some powerful voices on the Left aren't thrilled with the dichotomy of liar-nObama's supposed sentiments versus his deeds. Sen. Bernie Sanders responded, "I think it just speaks to the power of Wall Street and the influence of big money in the political process. I think it's unfortunate." And Sen. Elizabeth dinky-Warren stated, "I was troubled by [this revelation]. One of the things I talk about in [my] book is the influence of money. I describe it as a snake that slithers through Washington. And that it shows up in so many different ways here in Washington."
Neither of course has room to talk, because both have tarnished their own reputations with double standards. Socialist Sanders is part of the 1%, but evades taxes like the plague. For her part, dinky-Warren lectures America about the importance of equal pay for women, yet the gap among her own staff dwarfs the national average. For all the Democrats' talk about the evils of money (which is true to an extent), it sure is amazing how often they are the victims of their own drivel.  ~The Patriot Post

Prime Minister of Hungary: George Soros
“has Ruined” Millions of Lives
by Onan Coca
{sonsoflibertymedia.com} ~ If you think billionaire liberal George Soros is a horrible person, you’re not alone... It’s not just here in America where Soros has earned himself a reputation for being corrupt, malicious, and an ever-ready opponent of liberty. Apparently, the man who has been leading the Democrat Party for the last 20 years or so, is also quite hated in Europe. Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán delivered a scathing indictment of the world’s liberals and arguing that Hungary had the right to implement whatever immigration policies it chooses to, and that the nation also had the right to fight back against the underhanded efforts of Soros and his minions... http://sonsoflibertymedia.com/prime-minister-hungary-george-soros-ruined-millions-lives/

by Denis MacEoin
{gatestoneinstitute.org} ~ Following the terrorist attack outside Britain's Houses of Parliament on March 22, 2017, it was not surprising or wrong that many Muslims denounced the attack and declared it to be un-Islamic... There are said to be 123 verses in the Quran concerning fighting and killing for the cause of Allah -- more than a few. These claims also show that many people seem to be buying into the narrative of Islam as a perfect religion of peace, even if saying so runs counter to more than 1400 years of history and the official record of classical Islamic scholarship about jihad. Not Building the Wall

by: Ann Coulter
{freedomsback.com} ~ Fake News’ question of the week: Will Trump risk a government shutdown over the wall?

The media flip back and forth on who’s to blame for a government shutdown depending on which branch is controlled by Republicans. But the “shutdown” hypothetical in this case is a trick question.

A failure to build the wall IS a government shutdown.

Of course it would be unfortunate if schoolchildren couldn’t visit national parks and welfare checks didn’t get mailed on time. But arranging White House tours isn’t the primary function of the government.

The government’s No. 1 job is to protect the nation.

This has always been true, but it’s especially important at this moment in history, when we have drugs, gang members, diseases and terrorists pouring across our border. The failure of the government to close our border is the definition of a government shutdown.

This isn’t like other shutdowns. Democrats can’t wail about Republicans cutting Social Security or school lunches. They are willing to shut the government down because they don’t want borders.

Take that to the country!

As commander in chief, Trump doesn’t need Congress to build a wall. The Constitution charges him with defending the nation. Contrary to what you may have heard from various warmongers on TV and in Trump’s Cabinet, that means defending our borders — not Ukraine’s borders.

Building a wall is not only Trump’s constitutional duty, but it’s also massively popular.

Although Trump doesn’t need congressional approval for a wall, it was smart for him to demand a vote. Let the Democrats run for re-election on opposing the wall.

Let Sen. Claire McCaskill explain to the parents of kids killed by illegals that she thought a wall was inhumane.

Let Sen. Angus King say to the people of Maine that instead of a wall that would block heroin from pouring into our country, he thought a better plan was to sponsor a bunch of treatment centers for after your kid is already addicted.

Let Sen. Chuck clown-Schumer tell us why it’s OK for Israel to have a wall, but not us.

Let open borders Republicans like Sen. Marco Rubio tell African-Americans that it’s more important to help illegal aliens than to help black American teenagers, currently suffering a crippling unemployment rate.

Republicans are both corrupt and stupid, so it’s hard to tell which one animates their opposition to the wall. But the Democrats are bluffing. They’re trying to get the GOP to fold before they show us their pair of threes.

Now that Trump has capitulated on even asking for funding for a wall, the Democrats are on their knees saying, “Thank you, God! Thank you, God!”

No politician wants to have to explain a vote against the wall. What the Democrats want is for Trump to be stuck explaining why he didn’t build the wall.

Then it will be a bloodbath. Not only Trump, but also the entire GOP, is dead if he doesn’t build a wall. Republicans will be wiped out in the midterms, Democrats will have a 300-seat House majority, and Trump will have to come up with an excuse for why he’s not running for re-election.

The New York Times and MSNBC are not going to say, “We are so impressed with his growth in office, we’re going to drop all that nonsense about Russia and endorse the Republican ticket!”

No, at that point, Trump will be the worst of everything.

No one voted for Trump because of the “Access Hollywood” tape. They voted for him because of his issues; most prominently, his promise to build “a big beautiful wall.” And who’s going to pay for it? MEXICO!

You can’t say that at every campaign rally for 18 months and then not build a wall.

Do not imagine that a Trump double-cross on the wall will not destroy the Republican Party. Oh, we’ll get them back. No, you won’t. Trump wasn’t a distraction: He was the last chance to save the GOP.

Millions of Americans who hadn’t voted in 30 years came out in 2016 to vote for Trump. If he betrays them, they’ll say, “You see? I told you. They’re all crooks.”

No excuses will work. No fiery denunciations of the courts, the Democrats or La Raza will win them back, even if Trump comes up with demeaning Twitter names for them.

It would be an epic betrayal — worse than Bush betraying voters on “no new taxes.” Worse than LBJ escalating the Vietnam War. There would be nothing like it in the history of politics.

He’s the commander in chief! He said he’d build a wall. If he can’t do that, Trump is finished, the Republican Party is finished, and the country is finished.

Advice for Trump: Revise U.S. Military Manuals Corrupted by Obama’s Pentagon

Fb-Button

Featured Photograph: United States Army Lt. Gen. John Kimmons with a copy of the Army Field Manual, FM 2-22.3, Human Intelligence Collector Operations.

Revising military manuals for even one branch of the Armed Forces is a complicated and time-consuming endeavor. But thanks to the previous White House, it is absolutely necessary.Revising military manuals for even one branch of the Armed Forces is a complicated and time-consuming endeavor. But thanks to the previous White House, it is absolutely necessary.

One of President Donald James Trump’s and Secretary of Defense James “Mad Dog” Mattis’ primary endeavors should be to rollback the damage done to the Pentagon’s military manuals, curricula for training of officers and enlisted men, and the other material compromised by eight-years of political correctness seeping into the military.

As part of former President Barack Obama’s mission to “win the hearts and minds” of people who despise the United States of America, including those who live in the U.S., the Pentagon released new military manuals that pleased groups such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), an organization some allege is a Fifth-Column for radical Islamic terrorist organizations (see video below).

According to the blog on the web site of a non-profit watchdog group that investigates government corruption and misconduct, in this new era of rampant political correctness, the U.S. Army had published a special handbook for soldiers that appears to justify Islamic jihad by describing it as the “communal military defense of Islam and Muslims when they are threatened or under attack.”

Because radical Muslim groups consider Islam to be perpetually under moral, spiritual, economic, political and military attack by the “secular west” they consider military jihad a “constant necessity” and use it as a “rallying cry to resist and attack all this is un-Islamic,” according to the new Army manual.

Judicial Watch’s blogger wrote that the handbook was created to help soldiers become “culturally literate” ambassadors with sensitivity and understanding of Islamic civilization. The goal is to help them understand how vital culture is in accomplishing military missions. Military personnel who have a distorted picture of a host culture make enemies for the United States.

At least that’s what the publication (“Culture Cards: Afghanistan & Islamic Culture”) says. An organization of scientists dedicated to national and international security issues discovered the new Army tool and published it on its web site a few days ago.

However, the Army manual on Islamic culture fails to address some issues that may not appeal to the progressives in Washington or the members of CAIR.

As reported earlier this year by the Conservative Base, one issue that’s avoided is the widespread sexual intercourse between Afghan Taliban men and young boys. In non- diplomatic terms, Afghanistan is a haven for child rape.

While Muslims in Iraq have on several occasions stoned homosexuals for their sexual activities, not all Muslims believe pedophilia is a violation of Shariah law. Those who believe in the sacredness and infallibility of the Koran adhere to the teaching that women are sub-human and quasi-slaves, and therefore Muslim men will look for relationships — even sexual relationships — with others of their own gender.

Secretary of Defense James Mattis. It's hoped he will get rid of the politically-correct military field manuals, training curricula and other nonsense that did little to win against the Islamic terrorists.Secretary of Defense James Mattis. It’s hoped he will get rid of the politically-correct military field manuals, training curricula and other nonsense that did little to win against the Islamic terrorists.

According to Reuters, there is a lot of homosexuality going on in Afghanistan, but those engaging in it don’t think of themselves as gay, so that makes it okay since Islam officially disapproves of the gay and lesbian lifestyle.

“They regard themselves as non-gay because they don’t “love” the sex object so Allah is happy. These are the men who avoid their wives as unclean. Apparently there is very little love of any kind in Afghanistan, which explains a lot,” according to Reuters.

Sociologists and anthropologists say the problem results from a perverse interpretation of Islamic law. Women are simply unapproachable. Afghans cannot talk to an unrelated woman until after proposing marriage. Before then, they can’t even look at a woman, except perhaps her feet. Otherwise she is covered, head to ankle, according to columnist Joel Brinkley, a professor of journalism at Stanford University, and a former Pulitzer Prize-winning foreign correspondent for the New York Times.

AN INFORMATIVE MANUAL?

The manual has nearly three dozen informative chapters dedicated to subjects such as Muslim taboos, the five pillars if Islam, Jihad, the Quran and Muslim festivals. There are also sections on ethnocentrism, cultural relativism and social norms and mores. The lengthy introduction defines cultural competency — awareness and sensitivity of another group — and social norms and mores in Arab countries.

The portion on jihad is especially interesting because it’s described as a wide-ranging term that includes the everyday spiritual and moral struggle to live a life submitted to God, the attempt to spread Islam by education and example, and the communal military defense of Islam and Muslims when they are threatened or under attack, according to the Judicial Watch blog.

Today radical Muslim groups consider Islam to be perpetually under attack by the “secular West” — morally, spiritually, economically, politically and militarily, the Army handbook says. They thus consider military jihad as a constant necessity, and use jihad as a rallying cry to resist and attack all that is un-Islamic.

At the end of each section there is a question that’s supposed to stimulate “critical thinking.” At the end of the jihad section the question is: “How can the concept of jihad add legitimacy to the claims and aims of Al Qaeda and others?

“It would certainly be interesting to see how most enlisted men and women, or American civilians for that matter, would answer that particular question,” states Judicial Watch’s blogger.

The Army manual concludes by revealing all the things that make soldiers “culturally literate.” Among them are appreciating and accepting diverse beliefs, appearances and lifestyles, understanding the dangers of stereotyping and ethnocentrism and understanding Islamic and jihadist cultures.

Hopefully, these manuals and other mind numbing training materials will find their way into the dustbin of history during the Trump restoration.

Methodist Court Ruling a Blow for Openly Lesbian Bishop

The first openly lesbian bishop in the United Methodist Church can stay on the job for now, but she is subject to a disciplinary review that could lead to her removal, the top church court ruled Friday.

Bishop Karen Oliveto’s civil marriage to another woman violates church law that bars clergy who are “self-avowed practicing homosexuals,” the Judicial Council said. However, a decision over whether she can remain in the position must come from a separate disciplinary process, the court ruled.

Oliveto was elected last year to lead a Denver-area church region that is part of the Methodist Western Jurisdiction, which has rejected the denomination’s position that “the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching.” Within minutes of her election, a challenge was filed by the Oklahoma-based South Central Jurisdiction, leading to Friday’s ruling. Elizabeth Warren: A Factory of Bad Ideas

In the fallout of President Donald J. Trump’s historic victory, the Democratic Party is in a state of panic. They suffered record-breaking defeats across the country. Now they’re trying to clean up the mess caused by Hillary Clinton, a candidate who explored uncharted depths of political corruption.

One of the Democrats’ biggest problems is how their grassroots base was ignored by elites who used a complicated process of “Superdelegates” to steal the primary election from Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

Now, there’s new leadership at the Democratic National Committee. Chairman Tom Perez on a “Unity Tour” has committed himself to bringing back the “Bernie Bros” and embracing a far-left agenda. In the latest rebranding effort, the official DNC website now sells t-shirts with Perez’ vulgar words printed: “Democrats Give a S*** About People.”

Bad Ideas

But all the marketing and tacky clothing will not save them from the looming disaster known as “Elizabeth Warren.” The Massachusetts Senator, who once received more than $400,000 to teach a single class at Harvard, has made a name for herself as a shrill defender of income redistribution. Now, she is quickly emerging as the most likely 2020 Presidential candidate.

In the United State Senate, Warren has been a factory of bad ideas. She wants to raise corporate-tax rates, which scares companies out of the country. She protests crony capitalism in the financial markets, yet supports the Import-Export bank. She wants to lower student interest rates which only encourages more irresponsible borrowing. She supports taxpayer-funded, late-term abortion. She wants to raise the minimum wage to $22 per hour and have IRS prepare your taxes. The list of her bad big-government ideas is endless.

When it comes to health care, Warren is a staunch defender of Obamacare. As premiums skyrocket, conservatives in Congress are trying to negotiate a new health care law to get rid of Obamacare’s heavy-handed mandates. But Warren and her fellow Democrats are standing in the way.

Targeting the Hard of Hearing

One of the more unusual ways Warren is keeping health care expenses high involves regulating over-the-counter hearing aids. Warren has introduced a special-interest backed bill to increase FDA regulations for over-the-counter hearing devices.

The stated goal of the legislation is to “increase access” to hearing devices. But in practice, imposing new regulations on existing over-the-counter devices would restrict access to auditory health care. The bill would drastically disrupt the doctor-patient relationship.

The problems with these new, complicated regulations would be immediate and severe. For example, veterans and Medicaid patients could potentially no longer receive health coverage for doctors’ visits to diagnose and treat hearing loss, as preemption language in the bill would likely prompt insurers to drop audiology screenings and fittings. This would overrule state laws while incentivizing states to drop hearing aid and audiology coverage entirely. Then, by removing doctors from auditory health equation, it would leave the most vulnerable patients uninformed and untreated.

Elizabeth Warren: Move Over

In short, Warren’s bill does two things: drastically increases FDA regulations, and eliminates states’ rights to govern their Medicaid systems as they see fit. Why would Republicans support that?

And why is Warren so intent on pushing a bill on behalf of big corporations? Perhaps she is taking the Hillary Clinton-route by signaling to major donors that she is willing to sell-out to the highest bidder?

It seems like bizarro world on Capitol Hill. But this is a classic example of why the process of repealing and replacing Obamacare is so complicated. Americans deserve more market innovation to provide quality health coverage at lower prices. It is time for special interests and Elizabeth Warren to get out of the way. Let’s Penalize People for Having ‘Extra Kids’ — Bill Nye’s Outrageous Idea

By Todd Starnes. These days Mr. Nye hosts a series on Netflix – Bill Nye Saves the World. The other day – he pondered this question – should people be penalized for having extra kids.

Travis Rieder, a bioethicist at Johns Hopkins University, told Mr. Nye it was a good idea.

“I do think that we should at least consider it,” he said.

“Well, ‘at least consider it’ is like ‘do it,’” Nye replied.

Their theory is that big American families are hurting the environment. (Read more from “Let’s Penalize People for Having ‘Extra Kids’ — Bill Nye’s Outrageous Idea” HERE)

Bill Nye: Should Parents Be Penalized for Having ‘Extra Kids?’

By Chris White. Comedian Bill Nye suggested that saving the world from climate change might entail punishing people in developed countries for having too many children.

Nye asked one of the panelists on the Tuesday episode of his Netflix show “Bill Nye Saves The Earth” if it would be a good idea to have the government penalize having “extra kids.”

“Should we have policies that penalize people for having extra kids in the developed world?” Nye asked Travis Rieder, an academic for Berman Institute of Bioethics at Johns Hopkins University.

“I do think we should at least consider it,” said Rieder, who believes that limiting the size of families is paramount to fighting global warming.

“Well, ‘at least consider it’ is like, ‘do it,’” Nye replied. Conservatives have had a field day lampooning the former children’s TV host over the content of his new show, which is directed toward adults with a layman’s understanding of scientific issues. The real story behind the surge in alleged anti-Muslim hate crimes in America…and the intentional under-reporting by the media of anti-Muslim hate crime hoaxes

( Muslims do not assimilate, they infiltrate )

To listen to designated terrorist group CAIR and other Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated groups, one would think Muslims are getting gunned down in the streets, beaten up, and harassed on a daily basis in America. However, actual statistics prove otherwise, with the majority of so-called “hate crimes’ being verbal assaults. In other words, childish name-calling.

Peninsula Press  Take California, where there is large Muslim population. Leaving out a spike in anti-Muslim ‘hate’ crimes following 9/11, the numbers are relatively low, with a slight spike in 2015-2106, due to homegrown Islamic terrorism in this country and widespread Islamic terrorist attacks around the world. (Stats below for 2016 are not yet available)

The vast majority of alleged hate crimes against Muslims are verbal assault, graffiti, annoying phone calls, threatening emails/letters, and other minor annoyances. Actual violence including explosions and arson, rock throwing, physical beatings, etc are less than a handful for the most part.

Anti-Muslim hate crime hoaxes, on the other hand, are vastly under-reported by the sharia-compliant left wing media.

Anti-Muslim hate crime hoaxes case studies – This page contains detailed case studies in which HuffPost perpetrated one or more of the following acts or omissions: Click each number below for full story:

  • It publicized allegations of anti-Muslim hate crimes when there was clearly grounds for suspicion that they were fake.  HuffPost gave detailed, front-page coverage to alleged hate crimes against Muslims in America, in cases when it knew there was no supporting evidence, and/or the victim(s) had not filed a police report, or school complaint.  And despite the proliferation of well-documented fake hate crimes against Muslims (and its other Favored Groups) in recent years, HuffPost ignored basic journalistic ethics that would dictate that it do a minimal amount of research to flush these out, before reporting on them.

  • It did not alert its readers that they’d been deceived.  Upon learning that a hate crime it promoted as being legitimate had never happened, was a hoax, or was perpetrated by the alleged victim, HuffPost posted no new headline on its front page that indicated this reality.  In doing so, HuffPost deliberately left its readers, and the publications around the world that ran its original story, with the false impression that the story was legitimate.

  • It attempted to conceal its deception.  It replaced the headline and copy on the original allegation page with new content, that reflected the reality – but made no effort to alert the public that this was the case.  In doing so, anyone who searches “Huffington Post” and the content of the story would only find that it appeared to report the story accurately, as a fake hate crime — when documentary evidence shows that it did not.

(1) March 2016, New York, NY: A Muslim female alleged an Islamophobe slashed her face on a Manhattan street; She later admitted she did it to herself

(2) October 2016, Cary, NC: A Muslim father claimed 7-year-old son endured extended physical assault on school bus, in front of witnesses; School, police investigations found zero evidence it ever took place

(3) November 2016, Ann Arbor, MI: A Muslim female alleged she was physically assaulted by Islamophobe at the University of Michigan; She later admitted she made it up. But HuffPost never updated its main story page about this matter.  This screencap was taken on January 17, 2017 — nearly a month after Ann Arbor police and the FBI determined this was a fake hate crime:

(4) November 2016, Lafayette, A LA: Muslim female alleged she was physically assaulted by Islamophobes at the University of Louisiana; She later admitted she made it up. But HuffPost never put up another headline to indicate this was a fake hate crime.

(5) November 2016, San Diego, CA: A Muslim female student at San Diego State University reported she was assaulted by two Trump supporters, who also stole her car; Later her story unraveled, and she stopped cooperating with police. The student’s report of a stolen vehicle was unfounded since the student forgot where she had parked, SDSU Police Lt. Greg Noll said. HuffPost never published a follow-up headline on its front page, to indicate that this was a fake hate crime.

(6) November 2016, Charlotte, NC: A North Carolina teacher was accused of “relentless bullying and harassing” a five-year-old Muslim boy; Investigation revealed it never happened. Teacher cleared of assault allegations A local elementary school teacher has been cleared of wrongdoing following allegations of religious-based mistreatment of a student.  ten days after the results of the investigation were announced — HuffPost has still not updated the item on its Islamophobia site:

(7) March 2017, Montreal, CA: A bomb threat against was made against Muslim students at a Canadian university; Within 24 hours, police arrested a Muslim immigrant for perpetrating the hoax. Huff Post used the headline Montreal University Buildings Evacuated After Bomb Threats Target Muslim Students; These threats are the latest in a string of anti-Muslim events in Canada But never updated it with the fact that it was a Muslim man who was  charged with terror hoax after bomb threat targeting Muslim university students

HuffPost:

  • Has been, deliberately, maliciously smearing America on the world stage, as a rampantly Islamophobic, bigoted, violent culture, all the way down to first-graders.

  • Has continued feeding the false narrative that Muslims are at disproportionately high risk of being victims of hate crimes in America — when it knows, or should know, that in reality, Muslims are the least-likely victims of religiously-motivated hate crimes in America.  Further, as our documentation shows, HuffPost has ignored virtually all of the actual, documented hate crimes against Jews, against whom 4-6 times as many hate crimes are perpetrated than against Muslims, despite having similar population sizes in America.

THANKS, OBAMA, your Somali Muslim freeloaders are giving America something back in return: MEASLES & other diseases

( Muslims do not assimilate, they infiltrate )

The measles outbreak within Minnesota’s Somali community continues to spread to more parts of the state. “Officials believe it was imported by a traveler or immigrant from a foreign country, since measles no longer occurs naturally in the United States,” the Star Tribune reports.

Breitbart  Late Friday, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) announced that the total number of cases has now grown to 32, and “28 of the cases are Somali Minnesotan.” The MDH has not yet announced the demographic characteristics of the other four cases that have been diagnosed as part of the outbreak.

The geographic reach of the outbreak has now extended from Hennepin County, part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area—where it originated and where 30 of the cases have now been confirmed—to Stearns County, 65 miles northwest of Minneapolis-St. Paul, where one case was confirmed early last week, and now to Ramsey County, were onw case was confirmed on Friday. “31 of the cases are confirmed to be unvaccinated and 1 of the cases had 1 MMR,” MDH said late Friday.

“The cases are children ages 0 through 5 years,” MDH added.

“Fears of the MMR vaccine have taken hold within the Somali community, particularly after 2008, when many parents became concerned about what seemed to be a cluster of autism cases among Somali students in the Minneapolis schools. Measles vaccination rates among young Somali children have fallen sharply since, providing fertile ground for an outbreak to develop,” the Star Tribune reports.

“Officials are still trying to identify the source, but believe it was imported by a traveler from a foreign country, since measles no longer occurs naturally in the United States,” the Star Tribune adds.Democrats in Minnesota are not asking the most obvious questions that this statement raises: Did the traveler from a foreign country who may have “imported” measles to the Somali community in Minnesota arrive from Somalia?

If so, would these travelers have been prevented from arriving in the United States had federal district judges in Washington, Maryland, and Hawaii not struck down President Trump’s Executive Orders 13769 and 13780, both of which imposed temporary travel bans on residents of Somalia to the United States?

The state of Minnesota, led by Attorney General Lori Swanson and Governor Mark Dayton, both Democrats, joined the state of Washington as a plaintiff in the lawsuit against Executive Order 13769, which was subsequently halted by a federal judge in Washington state in February.

“The state of Minnesota is suing the Trump administration over the president’s executive order that temporarily bans refugees and travelers from seven predominantly Muslim nations from entering the United States,” the Star Tribune reported in February:

The current outbreak, which may continue to grow, has, in effect, re-introduced the disease—long dormant—to Minnesota. “Minneapolis-St. Paul is home to the largest Somali community in the United States, estimated to be around 70,000,” Breitbart News reported on Friday:

“Since FY 2002, 100,246 Somali refugees have resettled in the United States, according to the State Department’s interactive website. Of these, 99.9 percent, or 99,909, are Muslim,” Breitbart News reported in December. Assimilation of resettled Somalis in this country has been a significant problem, and continues to be so.

In 2016, two Somali refugees, one in a Minnesota mall, the other at Ohio State University, attacked and injured more than 20 Americans. Both refugees were killed by law enforcement during the attacks.

Somali immigrants to Minnesota have been resistant to having their children immunized against measles with the MMR vaccine, the MDH has acknowledgedThat resistance highlights just one of several public health practices in which the Somali community has a troublesome record.

“On the public health front, Somali refugees in Minnesota have been identified as responsible for 22 percent (161 out of 732) of the cases of active tuberculosis (TB) diagnosed between 2010 and 2014, despite accounting for about one percent of the state’s population,” Breitbart News reported.

“Recently, female genital mutilation (FGM) within the American Somali community has come to the forefront as a significant problem as well. Earlier this month, two doctors and another person were arrested in Livonia, Michigan on charges of conducting illegal FGM procedures on young Somali girls transported from Minnesota.”

CAIR Files Lawsuit Against US Gov Claiming Terror Watch Lists Are Offensive To Muslims

(( Muslim s do not assimilate, they infiltrate )

cair

From: BizPacReview

Placing Muslim jihadists on a ‘terror watch list’ is now apparently discriminatory, according to the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

In two federal lawsuits this week, CAIR alleges that the U.S. government’s terror watch list is unconstitutional because it violates the rights of individuals on the list, according to a report by Courthouse News Service.

“Defendants have utilized the watch list, not as a tool to enhance aviation and border security, but as a bludgeon to coerce American Muslims into becoming informants or forgoing the exercise of their rights, such as the right to have an attorney present during law enforcement questioning,” the lawsuits claim.

Executive Director of CAIR Dawud Walid said that if the federal government was going to track Islamic extremism, it should also surveillance Donald Trump supporters.

“I think the question is, are we going to be selective about this?” Walid said. “Are we following people and placing people on this list who go to KKK meetings, people who go to Donald Trump rallies?”…

The lawsuits also claim that residents from Dearborn, Mich., are overly represented on the terror watch list only because the area has a massive Muslim population of 40 percent.

Hi Everyone,

I could use some help here. Does the President still hope to get a full repeal of Obamacare during this Congressional session? Or, more likely, will he be satisfied just to get the revised AHCA (only) bill passed?

Tonight, at the 100 day rally in Harrisburg, President Trump asked Pennsylvania Congressmen Mike Kelly and Tom Marino to help him get a healthcare bill passed very, very soon.  Presumably, he was referring to the revised AHCA bill.  The bill altered with Rand Paul's help for the approval of the Freedom Caucus. Paul Ryan says he wants to get AHCA passed as soon as he has the votes.

But, Trump said "repeal & replace" at least three times at the rally.  So, I might presume that the President wants to eliminate Obamacare in large chunks.  Revised AHCA, being the biggest chunk, eliminating the five Obamacare Mandates up front.  Or, is it the case that the President still hopes to achieve a full repeal of Obamacare during this session?

What do you make of this slight contradiction? What have you heard?

Thanks, Charlie Gaudin

A new analysis shows that the public-private sector wage disparity has not improved. In fact, it's worsened. Previously, the CBO, based on 2005-2010 data, calculated that public sector employees were compensated at a roughly 16% better rate than commensurate private sector workers. That disparity is now up to 17%, according to 2011-2015 data.
And check this out, via Government Executive: "Federal employees with bachelor's degrees as their highest level of education earned an average of 5 percent more in wages than their private sector counterparts, 52 percent more in benefits and 21 percent more in total compensation. Federal workers with a high school diploma or less earned a 34 percent more in wages than those in the private sector, 93 percent more in benefits and 53 percent more in total compensation." As nice as it must be to have a higher base pay as a government worker, it seems the primary catalyst for the increasing disparity is the extremely lucrative benefits. Meanwhile, those of us in the private sector are struggling just to pay for health insurance.
An aside and caveat: There are extremely hard workers who earn their pay as public servants. Military personnel are government workers, and many others do admirable work. The problem is we have people like the EPA employee who browse porn all day and IRS employees who steal from taxpayers. When you factor in the total job security that government workers have and then lump in extra pay and benefits, the private sector simply can't compete. Notwithstanding the fact there are public sector people who do their jobs well and work hard, the inherent imbalance is glaring. And as much as Democrats rail against the gender wage gap, don't expect any demands to balance the public-private sector wage disparity.  ~The Patriot Post

{city-journal.org} ~ Wait: let me get this straight. It’s legally binding for two underlings in the civil rights divisions of the Departments of Education and Justice to send out a “Dear Colleague” letter declaring that, as these bureaucrats interpret Title IX of Congress’s  Education Amendments of 1972, colleges and universities can’t get any federal funding if they don’t make special accommodations for transgendered students, however defined; but it is not legal for the president of the United States, pursuant to the Constitution’s injunction that he ensure that the laws “be faithfully executed,” to deny some federal funding to cities that declare themselves “sanctuaries” from federal immigration laws, and that accordingly forbid their officials from cooperating with federal authorities in implementing them, as Congress has demanded?

Such is the implication of federal Judge William Orrick’s ruling in California this week that it is unconstitutional for President Donald Trump to attach conditions to federal funding to such sanctuary localities. After all, the president was merely enforcing compliance with the law of the land in a much more straightforward manner than the two functionaries who threatened to withhold federal funding if colleges failed to satisfy every whim of transgendered students.

To be sure, defeated presidential candidate liar-Hillary Clinton, churlishly flouting America’s long tradition of gracious acceptance of electoral results and the seamless transfer of power from one administration to the next, called on her supporters to “resist, insist, persist, enlist” in her opposition to Trump and the GOP-dominated Congress. And few have heeded her call as substantively as leftish federal judges, who all seem to imagine themselves as even more heroic defenders of blue-state orthodoxy than Senate minority leader Chuck clown-Schumer himself.

But the “Resistance,” as the anti-Trump left styles itself, is sailing into very dangerous waters, where earlier negationist movements have foundered. Do these pro-illegal-immigrationists really want to follow the nullification movement of the 1830s, when South Carolina toyed with the idea that it could reject a tariff passed by Congress, because it weighed so heavily on that state’s economy? Nullification advocates, led by John C. Calhoun, who had resigned the vice-presidency so as more effectively to oppose the tariff from the Senate, appealed to the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions written, respectively, by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. The Kentucky Resolution described the 1798 Alien and Sedition Acts as being “void and of no force” in that state, though the state legislature didn’t dare use Jefferson’s original language that its resolution constituted a “nullification” of the acts. Madison’s Virginia Resolution was merely hortatory, and he was aghast to hear Jefferson declare explicitly that he was willing to have the two states secede from the Union in response to the acts of John Adams’s Federalist-dominated Congress. But of course Calhoun and other Southerners caught the separatist implication of Jefferson’s Kentucky Resolution and claimed that their nullification had the sanction of the Founding Fathers. President Andrew Jackson caught their drift and rightly predicted that “the tariff was only a pretext, and disunion and southern confederacy the real object. The next pretext will be the negro, or slavery question,” which a generation later ignited the Civil War...

HOW NORTH KOREA COULD DESTROY U.S. WTH SINGLE NUKE

                                                                                     By

                                                                       Daniel John Sobieski

As both Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has stated, the Clinton-Obama era of “strategic patience” with North Korea is over. The usual suspects in the mainstream media have been warning that Trump is provoking Pyongyang into war on the Korean peninsula. The counter is that the administration isn’t willing to wait till North Korea ha the operational capability to nuke an American city like Seattle or Honolulu.

What is not being discussed is a much bigger and more imminent threat which makes action imperative, an existential one for the United States.

The nightmare scenario of an America sent back centuries in time before electricity, refrigeration, and smart phones has grown unnervingly closer with the presence of two North Korean satellites with orbits over a blissfully unaware American populace and an Obama administration indifferent that was to the apocalyptic threat of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack.

On Feb. 7, 2016, North Korea launched a second satellite, the KMS-4, to join their KMS-3 satellite launched in December of 2012. In an article in the Washington Times on April 24, 2016, R. James Woolsey,  former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, and Peter Vincent Fry, executive director of the Task Force on National and Homeland Security as well as director of the Nuclear Strategy Forum, both congressional advisory boards, warned of the dangers of an apocalyptic EMP attack that these and similar satellites pose:

Both satellites now are in south polar orbits, evading many U.S. missile defense radars and flying over the United States from the south, where our defenses are limited. Both satellites — if nuclear armed — could make an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack that could blackout the U.S. electric grid for months or years, thereby killing millions.

Technologically, such an EMP attack is easy — since the weapon detonates at high-altitude, in space, no shock absorbers, heat shield, or vehicle for atmospheric re-entry is necessary. Since the radius of the EMP is enormous, thousands of kilometers, accuracy matters little. Almost any nuclear weapon will do.

Moreover, North Korea probably has nuclear weapons specially designed, not to make a big explosion, but to emit lots of gamma rays to generate high-frequency EMP. Senior Russian generals warned EMP Commissioners in 2004 that their EMP nuclear warhead design leaked “accidentally” to North Korea, and unemployed Russian scientists found work in North Korea’s nuclear weapons program.

Woolsey and Pry, along with former Reagan science adviser William R. Graham, chairman of the Congressional EMP Commission, Ambassador Henry Cooper, director of the Strategic Defense Initiative and chief negotiator at the Defense and Space Talks with the USSR; and Fritz Ermarth, chairman of the National Intelligence Council; warned of the North Korean EMP threat an article in the February 12, 2016, issue of National Review:

Naïve reliance on their transparent disavowals could end up costing millions of American lives.

North Korea launched its second satellite on Saturday, yet the national press continues to ignore this existential threat. The White House has not recognized that a nuclear-armed North Korea has demonstrated an ability to kill most Americans with an electromagnetic-pulse (EMP) attack. And White House spokesmen and the media have misled the public with unjustified assurances that North Korea has not yet miniaturized nuclear warheads for missile or satellite delivery.

We, who have spent our professional lifetimes analyzing and defending against nuclear-missile threats, warned years ago that North Korea’s Unha-3 space launch vehicle could carry a small nuclear warhead and detonate it a hundred or so miles over the United States to create an EMP, leading to a protracted nationwide blackout. The resulting societal chaos could kill millions.

The image of an America gone dark, an America suddenly transported from an era of IPads to an era of horse and buggy travel, recently depicted in the NBC series “Revolution” is not science fiction but a very real possibility.  As Investor’s Business Daily described the threat in an aptly titled April, 2013 editorial, “How North Korea Could Destroy The United States”:

The three-stage missile North Korea launched last December that also orbited a “package,” which experts say could be a test to orbit a nuclear weapon that then would be de-orbited on command anywhere over the U.S. and exploded at a high altitude, releasing an electromagnetic pulse (EMP). That would fry electronic circuitry and the nation’s power grid.

This concern recently has been reinforced by a little-publicized study released in May 2011, titled “In the Dark: Military Planning for a Catastrophic Critical Infrastructure Event,” by the U.S. Army War College that said a nuclear detonation at altitude above a U.S. city could wipe out the electrical grid for hundreds, possibly thousands, of miles around.

The satellite launched by Pyongyang coincided with a third round of nuclear tests described as a “nuclear test of a higher level,” most likely referring to a device made from highly enriched uranium, which is easier to miniaturize than the plutonium bombs North Korea tested in 2006 and 2009, said Cheong Seong-chang, an analyst at the private Sejong Institute in South Korea.

Such an EMP device would not have to be particularly high yield. It would not be designed to create a big explosion, but to convert its energy into gamma rays, that generate the EMP effect.

Any nuclear weapon detonated above an altitude of 30 kilometers will generate an electromagnetic pulse that will destroy electronics and could collapse the electric power grid and other critical infrastructures — communications, transportation, banking and finance, food and water — that sustain modern civilization and the lives of 300 million Americans.

As the Heritage Foundation reports, an EMP attack with a warhead detonated warhead 25 to 300 miles above the U.S. mainland “would fundamentally change the world. Airplanes would fall from the sky; most cars would be inoperable; electrical devices would fail. Water, sewer and electrical networks would fail simultaneously. Systems of banking, energy, transportation, food production and delivery, water, emergency services, and even cyberspace would collapse.”

Nobody is harmed or killed immediately by the blast. But life in the U.S., the world’s only superpower and the world’s largest economy, would come to a screeching halt as a country dependent on cutting-edge 21st century technology regresses in time almost a century instantaneously.

North Korean has also been working on a submarine launched ballistic missile,  which would put the continental U.S. with striking distance. While North Korean submarines are not yet that sophisticated as our ballistic missile submarine fleet, it would only take a sub modified to launch a single missile, or even one launched fromm a disguised container cargo ship off our West Coast to pose an apocalyptic threat.

As Woolsey and Pry note in the March 29 edition of The Hill, the threat of North Korean sending the U.S. back to the Stone Age is real and imminent:

The mainstream media, and some officials who should know better, continue to allege North Korea does not yet have capability to deliver on its repeated threats to strike the U.S. with nuclear weapons. False reassurance is given to the American people that North Korea has not “demonstrated” that it can miniaturize a nuclear warhead small enough for missile delivery, or build a reentry vehicle for an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of penetrating the atmosphere to blast a U.S. city.

Yet any nation that has built nuclear weapons and long-range missiles, as North Korea has done, can easily overcome the relatively much simpler technological challenge of warhead miniaturization and reentry vehicle design….

…on October 7, 2015, (Admiral William) Gortney again warned the Atlantic Council: "I agree with the intelligence community that we assess that they [North Koreans] have the ability, they have the weapons, and they have the ability to miniaturize those weapons, and they have the ability to put them on a rocket that can range the [U.S.] homeland."

In February and March of 2015, former senior national security officials of the Reagan and Clinton administrations warned that North Korea should be regarded as capable of delivering by satellite a small nuclear warhead, specially designed to make a high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack against the United States. According to the Congressional EMP Commission, a single warhead delivered by North Korean satellite could blackout the national electric grid and other life-sustaining critical infrastructures for over a year—killing 9 of 10 Americans by starvation and societal collapse.

Deploying THJAAD missile defense systems in South Korea and Alaska, developed under Republican administrations, is a start, but more force or other moves might be necessary.  Fortunately, unlike President Obama,

President Trump is unwilling to keep  whistling past our own graveyard.
