Paperboy

{tommclaughlin.blogspot.com} ~ Maybe there’s no such thing as a paperboy anymore. I haven’t seen one in decades, have you? I gave up my paper route fifty years ago after delivering the Lowell Sun every single day for five years. It was my older brother’s before it was mine and my little brother took over from me. We kept it in the family because it was a coveted thing. I averaged 40-50 customers and it took about an hour if I hurried. Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays took longer because the papers were thicker and I couldn’t fit them all in my canvas bag with its wide, over-the-shoulder strap. I had to go back two, or sometimes three times to reload. Saturdays were easiest because the paper was always thin.

To learn the route I walked around with my brother shortly before he gave it up, then took it on myself when I was ten. The bag was heavy and my shoulder ached until I got stronger. Eventually I could ride a bike with it and things went quicker. I learned to deal with dogs and with people. Most were nice but some were a pain, sometimes literally in the case of a dog here and there. I’d try to make friends, but with some dogs it was impossible. If I turned my back on them they’d nip at my legs until I learned to turn around quickly and administer a swift kick. That usually took care of it, but sometimes it made things worse. Seldom did the owners come out and discipline those dogs, which is probably why they behaved that way.

Friday was collection day and I’d knock on every door. I’d hear “Who is it?” from inside. “Paperboy!” I’d yell back, “Collecting!” It was 42¢ for six days and 62¢ if they got the Sunday paper, which most did. Some thought they were good tippers if they gave me 65¢, but 75¢ was decent. Very rarely did anyone give me a dollar. Saturday mornings I’d meet the Lowell Sun’s district manager on the corner and pay him for the papers.

Each week, I netted about five dollars, tips included. My father made me put three in the bank and let me keep two which I spent on comic books, chocolate bars, bicycle repairs, and an occasional movie. For those, I had to take a bus to Lowell and the bus stop was a mile away. He let me take money out for a new bike once in a while because it was a capital investment, but that’s all. The Friday collection just before Christmas was the biggest payday and some years I’d clear $100.

It was something I had to do every day and was most difficult when I had to leave an afternoon sandlot baseball or football game to deliver papers. Other players would beg me to stay longer — not because I was so good, but because the sides would be uneven when I left. Sometimes it rain, snow, heat, and humidity. Sun truck drivers turned over often and sometimes threw my bundle in a puddle if I wasn’t right there to take it from them. Then I’d have to decide who to deliver the wet papers to. Sometimes they’d drop off the wrong bundle and I’d either be short or have too many.

My favorite time to deliver them was exactly this time of year. Not so much because of the big Friday collection day, but because it was cold and dark and I had the street to myself. I could see people inside their houses but they couldn’t see me outside walking along. I could see their Christmas trees lit up and all the other decorations. I could smell their balsam wreaths when I opened the storm door to put the paper inside. I liked to watch snow fall through the illuminated cone under a street light.

The obnoxious dogs were usually inside in winter but some of the good ones would be out making their rounds, going about their business as I was going about mine. They’d lift a leg here and there to mark their territory. They knew me and I knew them and sometimes we’d greet each other in passing.

When I finished, it was suppertime and the other nine people in my own family would be around the dinner table. My mother would open the door a crack and say, “Take off your boots on the porch!” I would, then walk past them all to hang my coat, my hat, and my empty canvas bag on a hook in the cellar hallway. Then my sister would slide over on the black-painted, pine bench my grandfather made to make room for me in my usual spot on the end.

The promotion and development of economic blocks are done by the Transnational corporations. The collusion of the western governments with the WTO, The IMF, the world Bank and the Federal reserve Banks are evidence of this ill coup of foreign countries to gain control of their natural resources and exploit their labor for the benefit of the western transnational corporation at the expenses of the American working class and humanity. We are the world's bully, criminals that operated with impunity and are free from prosecution in the U.S. because they are their own investigators of their crimes against humanity.
The ideology of the one world order by the promotions of economic blocks, free trade and neo-liberalism by any means, must end and all the government, Bankers and corporate officials that are part of this ill criminal system must be exposed, prosecute and send to prison.

The wars and the overthrow of legitimate elected foreign government must end; the wars in the Middle east was the work of George W. Bush and his network of criminals’ warmongers; the war was promoted by the corporate news media and executed by George W. Well, the time has come to update folks regarding the Jill Stein/Hillary Clinton recounts in three states…Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

Hillary Stein-Clinton was looking for voter fraud in those states…and she, or they, found it.

There was, indeed, voter fraud…on behalf of Hillary Clinton…of which those of us who pay attention to such things knew would happen well in advance of last month’s election…and the recount efforts have now exposed it for all to see.

First…let’s have a look at Michigan.

In Michigan…which was “to close to call” on election night, although in our election night coverage, Diane Sori and I officially, and as it turned out, rightfully called Michigan for Donald Trump days before it was made official…the Hillary Stein-Clinton recount focused the bright light of reality directly where Hillary didn’t want it.

In 50% of Detroit’s precincts, no recount could be done because…the numbers of the votes counted by machines was decisively higher than the number of votes cast by those who signed in at those precincts.

Well, It's possible that the left might just find the "brighter" side of it all:  "Hey, thanks to our policies, at least the terrorists didn't use GUNS, right?!  It's all under control.  We got them where we want them!".  There are definitely NO "videos" that they can blame this one on.  But, there is good ole "global warming", or American oppression, right?!  

In 30 days...30 LONG daze...America will finally have a REAL President of The United States at the WH.  But, in 30 daze, Barrack Insane Obama can still inflict A LOT of damage upon us.

Meanwhile, social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter are also being blamed for the electoral upset of Hillary Clinton, resulting in Facebook promising to police “fake news” by using “fake fact checkers” SNOPES and FACTCHECK as their gatekeepers of truth and justice, both of which are well-known propaganda machines for the political left directly associated with the Democratic Party.

Leader of the American Grassroots Left, Van Jones is going mainstream, with a regular spot on CNN and even co-hosting morning chat shows like Live with Kelly. The communists are trying to make friends with the average American voter who rejected them in the 2016 elections.

In short, the Democrats who belittled Trump for suggesting that the election system was “rigged” are now crying that the election was rigged, for Trump. It is nothing short of astonishing…

But here’s the big story – as all this nonsense consumes the headlines of the real “fake news” agencies in America, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, NPR, MSNBC and even FOX, the proof that the entire Obama Administration of two terms was built upon an overt act of fraud is nowhere to be found in the daily headlines!

Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Lead Investigator Mike Zullo provided forensic proof well beyond any reasonable doubt that the document presented by Barack Hussein Obama to prove his constitutional eligibility for the Oval Office was a complete and total fraud. WATCH FOR YOURSELF

At the same time, Fox News Commentator Sean Hannity was interviewing Wikileaks Julian Assange, who confirmed that all the information they had leaked on Hillary Clinton and the DNC was 100% authentic and accurately displayed and that none of it was acquired through or in any way associated with Russia. In fact, it is now known that the DNC and Clinton leaks came from someone inside their own camp, who was disgusted by what they saw going on inside the Democratic Party.

During his interview with Hannity, Assange went so far as to prove Hillary Clinton lied under oath to Congress when she falsely claimed that she had no idea that ‘c’ or ‘C’ on an official document meant CLASSIFIED CONFIDENTIAL. This also blows F.B.I. Director Comey’s conclusion that “there was no intent” on Hillary’s part.

So, nothing the American people are hearing from the “fake news” main stream press is based in truth today. Russia had nothing to do with the leaking of Clinton or DNC emails – the election was not “hacked” on behalf of Donald Trump – it is Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton who are unfit for office and Trump nor Russia had anything to do with that reality.

In fact, with the release of Maricopa County forensic evidence yesterday, the entire eight years of the Obama Administration was built upon a fraud, a forged document used to protect a known usurper to the Oval Office from exposure and accountability. Everything that happens under the color of fraud, is also a fraud.

Further, it appears that the election was indeed “rigged” in certain areas. Thanks to the recounts launched by Green Party candidate Jill Stein, evidence of election box stuffing in Detroit Michigan, among other places, was uncovered. That evidence has only been found in areas where Hillary Clinton did well, involving dead voters again and more votes than voters, as well as more votes counted than actually cast in those districts. Massive voter fraud was also found in Nevada and California allowed illegal aliens to vote across that state.

Since it has now been proven that Barack Hussein Obama proffered a forged document to affirm his eligibility for the Oval Office, this means that the DNC Certification Documents to place Obama on the ballot in 2008 and 2012 in fifty states were also issued based on fraud.

The North American Law Center has been calling for the Impeachment of Barack Hussein Obama on this basis for years now. The so-called “conspiracy” is much larger than Barack Obama, however. ‘We Interrogate Terrorists Like

That to Stop Attacks’

{freebeacon.com} ~Following the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, psychologist and U.S. Air Force veteran Dr. James Mitchell was called back to national service. Along with a partner, Bruce Jessen, he was tasked with developing the CIA’s enhanced interrogation techniques, or EITs. Designed to elicit time-sensitive intelligence from hardened al Qaeda leaders, the EITs later became immersed in controversy. In 2014, Senate Democrats released a report accusing Mitchell of torturing suspects with EITs and producing no results.

In his new book, Enhanced Interrogation, Mitchell offers his own testimony on the EITs. He argues that the techniques were critical in saving the lives of Americans and others. The Washington Free Beacon interviewed Mitchell on Thursday to discuss his new book.

 

Washington Free Beacon: What motivated you to write Enhanced Interrogation?

James Mitchell: Senator Dianne Feinstein put out that one-sided Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, SSCI report on the CIA Enhanced Interrogation Techniques, and the press ignored the SSCI report from the Republican minority, which pushed back against it. And the CIA pushed back. In addition, reporters, when they contacted me, said that Feinstein’s staffers had told them on deep background who Bruce and I were. We had these pseudonyms in the book. So Feinstein just outed us. And then after that, there has been all kinds of misinformation about the program. So I wrote the book because I really believed Americans needed to know what was done in their name to keep them safe after 9/11.

WFB: Why do you think there was such a profound bias against you and your CIA colleagues?

Mitchell: Feinstein’s report read like a prosecutorial brief to me. I’ve got extensive experience doing all kinds of investigations. And I’ve read a prosecutorial briefing. Feinstein interviewed no one who was involved in the program. Not one director, not one high-level intelligence officer. Not one guard, not one analyst.

I think what SSCI Democrats wanted to do was poison the American mind with this, because in part Feinstein had the wrong idea about what was done. One of the reasons I wrote the book was to try and dispel the idea that the detainees were subjected to enhanced interrogations the whole time they were at CIA black sites. You know, Abu Zubaydah was enhanced-interrogated for about two weeks in the entire time he was with CIA. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM) was only enhanced-interrogated for three weeks. And he was never enhanced-interrogated again, even though some in the CIA were pushing to go back to enhanced-interrogations to try and find Osama bin Laden. The interrogators weren’t willing to do it, because we don’t interrogate people like that to find people; we do it to stop attacks.

WFB: What is your personal response to the treatment you received in the Senate report?

Mitchell: Feinstein maims us in every place she thinks she can smear us. And in those places where we could potentially be seen as doing the right thing, she doesn’t give us recognition. For example, [SSCI Democrats] say that Bruce wrote a cable in which he recommended EITs on a prisoner at a black site. But what Bruce actually said–and this is a verbatim quote–is that “EITs are not the first, nor best option for getting information” from that suspect because he’s too tough. What [Bruce] did recommend is heaters, food, blankets, get rid of the indigenous guards–get an American down there at night–and if you’re going to get interrogators down there, get people who are trained.

WFB: To what degree do you believe Islamist extremist thinkers such as Sayyid Qutb and Ibn Taymiyyah influence terrorist leaders like KSM more than the unique personality of each terrorist leader?

Mitchell: They absolutely believe, the way I can’t believe I can breathe underwater, that there is a paradise. They absolutely believe that Allah has given them a mandate to purify the Earth, to get rid of all the infidels. To bring peace by subjugating, converting, slaughtering, or enslaving everyone. It took me a year to get my head around it. I’ve dealt with some people who have strong beliefs, but I’ve never dealt with people whose beliefs almost bordered on magic to me. What I think happened in the case of people like KSM is that their personalities and who they are influence how those beliefs are expressed. But beliefs drive behavior and it gets colored by the personality, but ultimately, they are Islamists. They are trying to impose sharia law on the world. And their beliefs about their mandate and need to purify, rather than being a relatively new phenomenon, they’re trying to breathe new life into these traditions from 1,400 years ago.

WFB: If you were president of the United States, what would your high-value detention program look like?

Mitchell: What the president has to ask himself is: What’s he going to do when he has reliable intelligence that there’s going to be another catastrophic attack–possibly involving nuclear weapons, like we had right after 9/11–to get the person who has the information to tell us that information? And that person is good at withholding information and they don’t want to give it up. I know, because we tried it with all of them, to get them to speak before they were ever given enhanced-interrogation. KSM is an excellent example of it. Before he was transferred to a black site, he had several days in which he was given tea and polite conversation. During that time he prayed and chanted. One of the interrogators during that period wore Pakistani dress to try and earn KSM’s respect. KSM later told me he thought those guys were clowns.

WFB: Some of your critics say that al Qaeda’s London plots against Canary Wharf/Heathrow were exaggerated. What’s your response?

Mitchell: Here’s why they say that. They say that if the terrorists are not inside the door with their backpacks on, it’s not an operational threat. But you know, the thing that saved most of the world from another catastrophic attack is that President Bush didn’t treat [9/11] like a law-enforcement issue. But when we did respond with military force, it threw them off balance. And on the London plots, Ramzi bin al-Shibh was behind that and he was working on it right when we picked him up. Underplaying that threat is a little bit like someone saying the guy down the street wants to kill you but he hasn’t loaded his weapon just yet, he’s not driving to your house yet. So when you stop him getting into his car, he wasn’t really coming to kill you. It’s a silly idea.

WFB: To what degree do you believe the liar-nObama administration has taken too far of a step back from detaining and interrogating those who might be able to help us prevent Islamic State attacks?

Mitchell: I believe that we need a detention and interrogation program that focuses on actionable intelligence. That we don’t have that, I think, puts us at grave risk. I think that President liar-nObama has stepped all the way back. But what I would do is quote KSM. When KSM was telling me that he expected George W. Bush to do exactly what Ronald Reagan had done and exactly what liar-Clinton had done, to me that conveys that these guys look at how people have handled these situations in the past. And I think all you have to do is look at how the liar-nObama administration has handled this problem.

We’re seeing more of these kinds of attacks because, quite frankly, the liar-nObama administration is trying to manage it like a problem as if the terrorists can exist in our midst. The president treats it like a law enforcement problem, as opposed to how Bush did it–it’s a declaration of war. KSM expected that the [post-9/11 response] would be a law enforcement investigation and that the Department of Justice would try and extradite them from the Taliban. He expected that this would give them time to get other large-scale attacks off.

If U.S. policy continues to be what it is–if we don’t even call the problem, the problem–I think the terrorists would be emboldened by it. Here’s the problem that people in America don’t understand. Terrorists really do believe that our civil liberties, our willingness to be open to people, our tolerance, our multicultural diversity, they believe those are all weapons that Allah has provided them. They believe these things are flaws in us.

WFB: How do you feel about President liar-nObama’s intention to close down the terrorist detention facilities at Guantanamo Bay?

Mitchell: I have mixed feelings about it. I have seen a Federal supermax prison. The terrorists’ lives will be much, much worse in a Federal supermax prison. But I don’t want them on U.S. soil. So until there’s a federal prison that can isolate them from outside contact, I don’t think they should be on U.S. soil. KSM said that our desire to have the world be like us is a great flaw. He said that we lack the stomach to do what must be done to defeat them. Or even to protect ourselves.

This idea that the jihadis are going to quit trying to destroy America or kill Americans because Gitmo closes: in my mind, that’s insane. That’s just a narcissistic thing that somebody wants to do for their own legacy. Not because it’s going to make Americans any safer. I can’t imagine a situation in which some guy who has been crucifying children, or setting people on fire in cages, or decapitating people, and cutting the throats of Yezidi sex slaves so they can bleed out in a great big bowl, and believes that’s an act of worship, I can’t believe they are suddenly going to look and say, “Oh, they’re going to close Gitmo. I’m done with this.” That’s not going to happen.

I asked KSM about this. What he told me was that if it wasn’t Gitmo it would be something else: “We need something to stir things up.” The terrorists are going to find something because they need a place holder. Gitmo is what we’re fixated on; it’s not what they’re fixated on. The way you fight these hardcore guys is to make their mission look less sexy. They fear strength. They regard our efforts to look conciliatory as a weakness, as a gift to them from God.

WFB: Knowing all you know now, and having experienced all you have experienced, would you do it again?

Mitchell: The CIA presented all this information to me when they asked for my help. But really I thought I shouldn’t do this, this is going to ruin my life. And then I thought to myself, nothing in my ethics or my moral code said to me, I should put the temporary discomfort of a terrorist before saving hundreds of lives. I mean, I couldn’t live with myself. For some people that’s a hypothetical question that they can answer by taking the moral high ground. But for me it was a real question, I mean CIA really was asking me this. So I would make sure that what I did was legal. But if there was another situation where there was a catastrophic attack and there was credible intelligence that it was imminent, I would get out of the chair today and go do it.

WFB: Is there anything else that you want to add?

Mitchell: I would ask people to get familiar with what ISIS/al Qaeda ideology involves. We do not understand the depth of their commitment. The only way they can avoid the torment of the grave is to get up every day and try to figure out how they can convert, kill, enslave, or humiliate everyone else on the planet.

They want to purify the planet.

Having written about the group Jamaat al-Fuqra, now known as Muslims of America, once before  (http://intellectualconservative.com/a-critical-threat/) and considering the election of Donald Trump as President, there is more to investigated by our administration and made available to the generalpublic.

Different sources, including many within the Muslims of America organization have made clear that they expect the members of this jihadist organization to arm themselves purportedly in anticipation of raids by the new administration. The group is waiting for a violent confrontation with law enforcement on the jihad bases they have in this country listed somewhere between 22 and 34. They are attempting to stockpile automatic weapons in what they consider the start of the end time.

They consider the reopening of FBI investigations proving them to be a homegrown terrorist organizations that were set aside by Obama as a spark to the violence that they have spent these past years training for. Sheikh Gilani, based in Pakistan and running the operation from there has made clear to his followers here in our country that Donald Trump is part of an anti-Zionist conspiracy to destroy Islam.  The FBI, as early as 1988 identified Jamaat Al-furqa (MOA)  as an Islamist paramilitary group which believe the Islamic faith will dominate the world within the century through violent confrontations. In a NCIS investigation since closed because of funding, it was shown that all of these MOA compounds have specific individuals involved in criminal scams to raise money including insurance fraud, mail fraud, credit card fraud, workers compensation fraud and straw purchase of weapons.

Sheikh Gelani , founder of the MOA on Novemeber 14^th stated:

”I foretold the disastrous results should this man be elected as the American President. He has come as a test and trial for faithful adherents of the holy books.”

Gilani has prophesied to his followers that a “tyrant” would be in the White House during the end times before the battle of victory for Islam. This is the same Sheikh Gelani that Wall Street Journal Daniel Pearl was going to see when he was abducted and murdered.

Sheikh Gelani also distributed a videotape in 1992 that was sent to all the compounds that discussed “Advanced Training Courses in IslamicMilitary Training” with contacts in International Quranic Open Universities in the US, ( In New York, Michigan, South Carolina), Canada and the Caribbean. Those who finish the training are designated “soldiers of Allah”, an international jihad force affiliated with the MOA.A goodportion of the training is specifically fighting Jews and Israelis.

They continue to train without government interference and consider any attack on MOA as an assault on Islam and enough reason to start Islamic Jihad countrywide. Declaring all the arms training and bomb making activities are for self defense while planning to take offensive action. Khalifa Hussain Abdallah (K1) is the man responsible for the preparations being made for armed conflict.

AN FBI report from 2007 has found MOA to be involved in at least 10 murders, three firebombings . It also stated that the “soldiers of Allah” are sent to Pakistan to receive terrorist training that allows these compounds to become capable of planning and instigating terrorist campaigns within the U.S. This group is known for an attack that ended with the assassination of Arizona Imam Rashid Khalifa in Arizona in 1990.

In Islamburg, outside Hancock , New York, the MOA headquarters in New York, have been shown to be training women in guerilla tactics in 2002, and continues to this day. There is a history of terrorism, criminal activity including weapons trafficking, and a policy of violence against “enemies of Islam”, including the U.S. Government.At the “Red House” compound in Virginia law enforcement attempted to arrest Traci Upshur for a straw purchase of firearms for her husband who was convicted of a felony. Police were threatened by the “Mayor” of  the Islamic village. Matthew Gardner, who goes by the name Muhammed Ali, threatened the officers by claiming there were 200 armed followers on the compound that were ready to defend Ms. Upshur should the police attempt to arrest her.

There is also MOA members who have been arrested for the distribution of drugs, weapons charges, welfare fraud, and counterfeiting. These members have been told by MOA to stay off the compounds and to minimize meetings with other MOA members. As parolees, those convicted of felonies can be searched at any time by local law enforcement. The compounds do not want local law enforcement to be able to enter these compounds, and so these parolees are silent jihadists away from the compounds.

There are sources that can prove the MOA affiliated funds are collected to be sent to “mujahideen” in Pakistan and Kashmir. Children of the members of these camps have been indoctrinated into the Jihad terrorism taught in these compounds

In 1991 a Colorado investigation described MOA as “the most significant terrorist group in the United States.  On the terrorist training camp located outside of Buena Vista in Colorado it was found that the intimidation of local law enforcement and violence perpetrated by its members to achieve their jihadis agenda was not terrorism because terrorism was not defined in state or federal statutes.

The State Department includes MOA it the annual Patterns of Global Terrorism but does not designate at as a terrorist organization. It does describe MOA as an Islamic sect that seeks to purify Islam through violence. They were included in this report as a group that has carried acts of terrorism not formally designated as such by the State Department. The reason given by the State Department for this non-designation is that they consider MOA a domestic group, rather than a foreign organization. Never discussed is if past violence that was instigated by this organization has been checked so as not to draw attention to the policies and objectives of violent jihad the US when the time is right. The Center for Policing Terrorism has stated :

“it is only a matter of time before Al-Fuqra (MOA) assists an organization in an assault on US soil.”

MOA has the ability to blend into the background, and still conduct terrorist operations. The funding that they receive is questionable at best, and many of the members wok in transportation in the major cities of this country making it simple to plant explosive devices and achieve work arounds of any and all security protocols. The Department of Homeland Security in 2005 has discussed MOA as apossible sponsor of a terrorist attack in the US. It has listed this group as a group that requires continual monitoring , agreeing that MOA is adept at concealing its activities and its preparations for a confrontation with US authorities.

There are also links to Al Quaeda that have been proven.  To be shown in the next column is the ties from MOA to Lashkar-e-Tabir, the Blind Sheikh, and the front groups that are able to collect firearms, training and give the MOA the ability to launder finances .

In November 2016, Barry Donadio the Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus accepted recognition for his councils good works in the community. 

Council 7941 was awarded the prestigious Columbian Award from the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council based in Connecticut. 

The award was granted for the councils good works in parish services, Keep Christ in Christmas Program, feeding the hungry, ultrasound initiative, March for Life, pregnancy care center, public relations, athletics, and socials and youth recreation. 

Barry Donadio stated that the council that he leads with continue with a surge in service to the community in the year 2017 and beyond. 

The Knights of Columbus are a group fraternal group of practicing Catholic men devoted to charity.

I have said for years, that no single election, nor a single president can right what is wrong with our country, and I stand by that assessment.

The reason I have said it, and the reason I believe it, is because the situation in which we find ourselves has not occurred over night. It’s taken decades to arrive at the brink of the abyss and it will likewise take decades to turn the ship around and have it sailing in calm waters.

Over the years, I have outlined several key reasons regarding our slow, steady spiral into turmoil, which of course includes the liberal/socialist agenda, the entitlement mentality of the last couple of generations and, of course, a detached from the intent of the Founders and Framers populous who only seem to think the time to get involved is when an election cycle rolls around.

But there is more to it than that.
