Kansas Republicans Ditch All Pretense of Limited Government

In our times, Republican majorities aren’t worth the paper voters cast their ballots on. That’s the lesson out of Kansas this week, and it can easily happen in D.C.

In one swift blow, the signature achievement of a conservative administration was undone by liberal Republican lawmakers who valued increased government spending over small government and individual liberty and who wanted to distance themselves from an unpopular chief executive.

On Tuesday, lawmakers in Kansas passed a $1.2 billion tax increase that would raise income taxes and end a tax exemption on small businesses, affecting 330,000 farmers and business owners. The tax increase was a rebuke of Governor Sam Brownback’s 2012 tax cuts, which lowered income taxes and reduced some business taxes to zero in a successful effort to spur business growth.

Kansas Governor Sam Brownback, R, promised to veto the legislation, and he followed through on that promise. Tuesday evening, his veto was overridden.

“Senate Bill 30 is a $1.2 billion tax hike, making it the largest in state history,” Brownback warned the legislature the night before the vote. “This is bad for Kansas and bad for the many Kansans who would have more of their hard-earned money taken from them.”’

Brownback’s prognostications were not enough. Kansas faces a $900 million budget deficit, and the local media in Kansas has been on a crusade to blame the state’s budget problems on Brownback’s tax cuts – rather than the recalcitrant legislature’s refusal to cut spending and the Kansas Supreme Court’s mandates for increased spending. A sagging local economy is the result of external commodity markets beyond the government’s control. The governor’s approval rating is the worst in the country, and his political capital has been all but extinguished, as he is term-limited and rumors circulate that he will leave office for a federal position.

Legislatures respond to political incentives. The state Senate and House voted 27-13 and 88-31, respectively, to override Brownback’s veto.

“I look at this as bittersweet. I don’t like the bill. I hate the bill. But we have to move forward as a state,” said Rep. Dan Hawkins, R-Wichita.

“We have to move forward.” There, in a nutshell, is the mentality of a squish. “It doesn’t matter if the policy is harmful; the government needs to appear to do something.” “Doing something” always results in bigger government – in Kansas, that means a $1.2 billion tax increase.

Washington, D.C., has a similarly dismal political environment spurred by an unpopular chief executive. President Trump has accurately described the alleged Russia-collusion controversy surrounding his administration as a “cloud” that is emboldening Democrats to obstruct his agenda. Republicans, meanwhile, are looking for areas to compromise the conservative aspects of Trump’s agenda.

Take tax reform. Where President Trump promised big tax cuts on the campaign trail, Republicans in Congress are talking about raising some taxes to keep the plan “revenue neutral.”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., has made “revenue neutral” tax reform a condition of any tax bill package to come up for a vote in the Senate. House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady, R-Texas, has previously said President Trump may sign on to calls for revenue-neutral tax reform. Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, has floated the creation of a new border-adjustment tax to meet that condition.

“As far as I’m concerned, virtually any potential [offset] for reduced tax rates should be on the table, and that includes the so-called border-adjustment tax,” Hatch said Wednesday.

Raising taxes in any form would be a retreat from President Trump’s campaign agenda. But Republicans have already retreated from the Trump agenda in budget negotiations and on repealing Obamacare.

The lesson to be learned from Kansas is these retreats and betrayals will become worse if the president continues to hemorrhage his approval rating and if he lets distractions like the Russia controversy take the administration off-message. President Trump needs to reset on the issues that helped him win the presidency. He should come out strong, with a consistent message on terror, on Obamacare, on taxes. He should use his bully pulpit to put the legislature on the hot seat, demanding that they get to work to make his agenda become law.

Legislative accomplishment and good governance are the only things that can save Trump’s approval rating. The trains need to run on time for the political environment to improve. Failing this, Republicans will turn on the president as they turned on Gov. Brownback, and the American people will suffer under bad policy. US Senators: Christian Beliefs Make You Unfit for Public Office

Earlier this week, Senator Bernie Sanders and Senator Van Hollen attacked Trump’s nominee for the White House Office of Budget and Management, Russ Vought. I met Russ when he and Sen. Mia Costello (R-Anchorage) and I went through the Claremont Institute’s Lincoln Fellowship together, back in 2011. His wife is from the Mat-Su. She worked for Vice President Mike Pence when he served in Congress, and had the audacity as a woman to defend him—and in the Washington Post no less.

In short, Russ is exactly the kind of person you would expect to see appointed by a Republican President to a White House staff position, and therefore the kind of person that progressive politicians love to hate. So what do they do when faced with a man with impeccable conservative credentials? They attack him for being a Christian.

Now, wait, you say: “We live in America. We have the U.S. Constitution, which forbids public officials from attacking a presidential appointee for their religious beliefs.” Yes, of course we do. And for 229 years, at least this portion of that Constitution, was largely respected.

But we live in different times today. In 2017, no portion of that Constitution is sacrosanct from attack by progressive politicians, not even the portion that guarantees Americans the right to hold whatever religious belief they choose. As Albert Einstein predicted long ago:

“The strength of the Constitution lies entirely in the determination of each citizen to defend it. Only if every single citizen feels duty bound to do his share in this defense are the constitutional rights secure.”

And if progressive Democrats and their friends could prevent Trump from nominating 41% of Americans to office simply because of their Christian beliefs, that would certainly be a political victory that would move forward their progressive agenda. In Sanders’ America, there is no need for religious freedom. Progressives in government will let you know what you are permitted to believe, by attacking those who hold any religious beliefs that don’t support their agenda.

If criticizing Christian or Jewish beliefs supports the progressive agenda, loyal progressives will be there to defend the right to criticize. If criticizing Islamic dogmas hurts the progressive agenda, loyal progressives will condemn the “haters” for their “hate speech”. Just remember, hate speech is whatever opposes their agenda. And whatever supports their agenda is wildflowers and rainbows—I mean, “worthy of tolerance.”

Let’s not kid ourselves about what the world just saw this week in the Vought confirmation hearing. A man was told that he has a disease, that he is “Islamophobic” and unworthy of holding public office; that Senator Sanders would vote to reject his appointment to the White House, because he actually believes what Jesus said, and supported the right of the Christian college that he graduated from to continue to teach that Christianity is true. It’s the “Christianity is true” part that has the progressives in a tizzy. It’s not PC to believe in truth. It’s not PC to believe what’s in the Bible. And even if it was, it’s certainly not PC to admit to it in public. Silence is what is demanded. And if you aren’t silent, you will be attacked, just like Russ Vought.

Which leads me to conclude that Albert Einstein is right, and that we each have an important part to play in doing our share to defend the constitutional rights of Americans. Letting politicians and judges do it for us was never an option. Letting progressives do it for us is simply suicidal.

The Senate Judiciary Committee is considering whether to subpoena former FBI Director James Comey to appear before the committee following his testimony [last week]. Should Comey appear before the Judiciary Committee, he may . . . face questions about the bombshell lawsuit, filed Monday by a former U.S. intelligence contractor, that accused the FBI and CIA of illegally spying on millions of Americans, including Donald Trump, and accuses Comey of covering it up.

Dennis Montgomery, the former contractor, reportedly passed his findings on to the FBI and is now alleging that the intelligence agencies buried the follow-up investigation[. His] suit attempts to prove there was a “pattern and practice” of conducting “illegal, unconstitutional surveillance” of millions of Americans, including Supreme Court justices, 156 federal judges, prominent businessmen, and others such as Donald Trump, as well as the plaintiffs themselves.

Montgomery claims that he obtained 600 million pages of classified documents contained on 47 hard drives detailing how the FBI surveilled millions of Americans —on a far larger scale than whistleblower Edward Snowden uncovered.

“This domestic surveillance was all being done on computers supplied by the FBI,” Montgomery told Circa. “So these supercomputers, which are FBI computers, the CIA is using them to do domestic surveillance.”

By Caroline Camden Lewis: If you grew up watching Captain Planet, you would know that the greatest threat to the environment is the human species. And the worst culprits among these humans are, of course, business owners. The job of planet heroes, then, is to fight against the evil capitalists and to be a voice for the voiceless rivers, oceans and clouds.

While this propagandistic narrative works well for a cartoon series (ok, it was atrocious there too), in real life, capitalism and private property incentivize clean air, water and reforestation. Let's say, for example, that you own a timber farm that harvests wood every seven years. You would take care of your land and the nearby water sources because if you didn't, you wouldn't have the robust healthy trees for the next harvest seven years later and your renewable resource would no longer be renewable.

Barack liar-nObama based his Captain Planet environmental policy on the incorrect assumption that business deliberately pollutes the environment. Thus, rather than dealing with, say, lead in the soil or toxins in the air, he focused on regulating businesses out of business and thereby bolstering bureaucratic power. This flawed theory casts private sector businesses as top polluters, and government-run companies as charitable saviors. Of course, look no further than the exceptionally managed $535 million federal loan to the now defunct Solyndra to see the truth. One report estimated that the total taxpayer cost may be as high as $845 million. The crony capitalist government "start-ups" that benefit bureaucrats and cost the taxpayer millions are nobody's charity.

While liar-nObama busied himself with failed government start-ups, he ignored the larger issues like air quality and Superfund. The EPA manages a program called "Superfund," which cleans up some of the nation's most hazardously contaminated sites. These sites can contain toxic and hazardous chemicals and require the remediation by the EPA. The EPA establishes a National Priorities List (NPL) of the top U.S. sites in need of Superfund clean-up or remediation. Yet some of these sites have stayed on the list due to lack of action by the EPA for years, even decades.

Take, for example, the West Lake Landfill Superfund site near St. Louis, Missouri. In 1973, 38,000 tons of solid waste were mixed with 8,700 tons of leached barium sulfate (a uranium ore processing residue) left over from the Manhattan Project, a World War II era government (ahem) program which developed nuclear bombs. In 1990, the EPA designated it as a Superfund site on the NPL. Yet, under liar-nObama, nothing happened except "investigations" and "studies." Meanwhile, the residents of St. Louis live with this unacceptable level of toxicity. Despite liar-nObama's claims to be "for" the environment, 1,322 Superfund sites like this still remain around the country (more than when he came into office).

And then there's air quality. The EPA sets air quality standards, called the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), which put limits on six air pollutants (sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, lead, ozone, nitrogen dioxide and particle pollution). There are currently 34 states that do not meet the EPA's air quality requirements, 10 more than when liar-nObama first took office. Ignoring the obvious needs of our country to deal with toxic waste, soil and water contaminants irresponsibly puts public health at risk.

So how did liar-nObama, so lauded by the media as an environmental crusader, fail on such an epic level?

Well, because for him, a business-killing, highly regulatory EPA was a success. While it failed in protecting the environment, it succeeded in massive regulations on manufacturing and other businesses.

The good news is that we are saying goodbye to the fictional assumptions of Captain Planet and saying hello to real leadership at the EPA. President Donald Trump's new EPA administrator, Scott Pruitt, has recommitted the agency to actually focusing on the environment while also supporting economic growth. Last month, Pruitt issued a memo that prioritizes the cleanup of the toxic 1,322 Superfund sites across the country. Under his leadership, the EPA is planning to roll back needless regulations, which will save an estimated 1.4 million U.S. jobs. Pruitt's commitment to the Constitution, the Rule of Law, and the process by which administrative rules are made means that the agency won't be abused by special-interest groups who seek to change policy though a "sue-and-settle" strategy. Additionally, the new leadership has already begun to restore their relationships with the states, as opposed to liar-nObama's modus operandi of dictating from Washington.

Finally, President Trump's recent decision to exit the Paris Accord not only preserves our sovereignty to establish our own environmental priorities (which are cleaner than most in the world), but frees us from the obligation to pay for the remediation of other countries (namely India and China).

liar-nObama's failed leadership co-opted the environment issue as a way to concentrate government power by killing manufacturing and energy businesses, while simultaneously ignoring the real issues of air quality and toxic Superfund site cleanup. Trump's and Pruitt's leadership prioritizes the environment while also supporting business, jobs and the American worker. This new team seeks to achieve what we all want: clean water, air and soil, clean places to live and removal of toxic substances in order to provide a clean environment for the humans, plants and animals of the next generation.

The impeach-Trump conspiracy

Consider the questions that have convulsed this city since the Trump triumph, and raised talk of impeachment.

Did Trump collude with Russians to hack the DNC emails and move the goods to WikiLeaks, thus revealing the state secret that DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz was putting the screws to poor Bernie Sanders?

If not Trump himself, did campaign aides collude with the KGB?

Now, given that our NSA and CIA seemingly intercept everything Russians say to Americans, why is our fabled FBI, having investigated for a year, unable to give us a definitive yes or no?

The snail’s pace of the FBI investigation explains Trump’s frustration. What explains the FBI’s torpor? If J. Edgar Hoover had moved at this pace, John Dillinger would have died of old age.

We hear daily on cable TV of the “Trump-Russia” scandal. Yet, no one has been charged with collusion, and every intelligence official, past or present, who has spoken out has echoed ex-acting CIA Director Mike Morrell:

“On the question of the Trump campaign conspiring with the Russians here, there is smoke, but there is no fire, at all. … There’s no little campfire, there’s no little candle, there’s no spark.”

Where are the criminals? Where is the crime?

As for the meetings between Gen. Mike Flynn, Jared Kushner, Sen. Jeff Sessions and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, it appears that Trump wanted a “back channel” to Putin so he could honor his commitment to seek better relations with Russia.

Given the Russophobia rampant here, that makes sense. And while it appears amateurish that Flynn would use Russian channels of communication, what is criminal about this?

Putin is not Stalin. Soviet divisions are not sitting on the Elbe. The Cold War is over. And many presidents have used back channels. Woodrow Wilson sent Col. Edward House to talk to the Kaiser and the Brits. FDR ran messages to Churchill through Harry Hopkins.

As for Trump asking Director James Comey to cut some slack for Flynn, it is understandable in human terms. Flynn had been a loyal aide and friend and Trump had to feel rotten about having to fire the man.

So, what is really going on here?

All the synthetic shock over what Kushner or Sessions said to Kislyak aside, this city’s hatred for President Trump, and its fanatic determination to bring him down in disgrace, predates his presidency.

For Trump ran in 2016 not simply as the Republican alternative. He presented his candidacy as a rejection, a repudiation of the failed elites, political and media, of both parties. Americans voted in 2016 not just for a change in leaders but for a revolution to overthrow a ruling regime.

Thus, this city has never reconciled itself to Trump’s victory, and the president daily rubs their noses in their defeat with his tweets.

Seeking a rationale for its rejection, this city has seized upon that old standby. We didn’t lose! The election was stolen in a vast conspiracy, an “act of war” against America, an assault upon “our democracy,” criminal collusion between the Kremlin and the Trumpites.

Hence, Trump is an illegitimate president, and it is the duty of brave citizens of both parties to work to remove the usurper.

The city seized upon a similar argument in 1968, when Richard Nixon won, because it was said he had colluded to have South Vietnam’s president abort Lyndon Johnson’s new plan to bring peace to Southeast Asia in the final hours of that election.

Then, as now, the “T” word, treason, was trotted out.

Attempts to overturn elections where elites are repudiated are not uncommon in U.S. history. Both Nixon and Reagan, after 49-state landslides, were faced with attempts to overturn the election results.

With Nixon in Watergate, the elites succeeded. With Reagan in Iran-Contra, they almost succeeded in destroying that great president as he was ending the Cold War in a bloodless victory for the West.

After Lincoln’s assassination, President Andrew Johnson sought to prevent Radical Republicans from imposing a ruthless Reconstruction on a defeated and devastated South.

The Radicals enacted the Tenure of Office Act, stripping Johnson of his authority to remove any member of the Cabinet without Senate permission. Johnson defied the Radicals and fired their agent in the Cabinet, Secretary of War Edwin Stanton.

“Tennessee” Johnson was impeached, and missed conviction by one vote. John F. Kennedy, in his 1956 book, called the senator who had voted to save Johnson a “Profile in Courage.”

If Trump is brought down on the basis of what Putin correctly labels “nonsense,” this city will have executed a nonviolent coup against a constitutionally elected president. Such an act would drop us into the company of those Third World nations where such means are the customary ways that corrupt elites retain their hold on power.

(Jul. 28, 2014) — On Monday, Atty. Stephen Pidgeon of The North American Law Center (NALC) granted The Post & Email an interview about the organization’s Articles of Impeachment made public on Friday.

NALC is associated with the U.S. Patriots Union (USPU), which was founded by JB Williams and Timothy Joseph Harrington in 2010. Pidgeon is “lead counsel” at NALC in the area of Constitutional Law. NALC’s stated mission begins with:

Year after year, case after case, the American people have had their rights eviscerated by the American legal system. This deliberate destruction has been under the guise of effecting a “utopian global social justice system”. In actuality, what we have are judicial activists, through their lofty positions, imposing by fiat, that which should be determined through due process. These absurd, inane and socialistic decisions, substituting personal policy preferences for Constitutional imperatives, have destroyed both the intent and spirit of the Constitution, as well as the foundation of the Rule of Law.

With a law office in Washington State, Pidgeon has experience in the fields of international law, religious freedom, and U.S. export and import laws, among other areas of expertise.

Pidgeon is associated with the Alliance Defending Freedom, which advocates for religious liberty, a right enshrined in the First Amendment to the Bill of Rights. He produced a set of eight videos on topics including The Muslim Brotherhood and “the high crimes of Barack Obama.” He also published “The Obama Error” in 2011, whose synopsis reads, “Here are the facts, and here is the law. The national fabric is forever torn, and the experiment in God-breathed freedom we call America is finished. When we look back to the causes of our demise, we will most certainly find the Obama error.” Many reviews of the book at Amazon.com said that the book was “hard to put down,” “food for thought,” and written by “one of the most courageous Christian writers.”

Before Obama was inaugurated in January 2009, Pidgeon filed a challenge to his constitutional eligibility in Washington State, which has a law that “provides for any registered voter to challenge the election of a candidate if the candidate at the time of the election was ineligible to hold office,” in Pidgeon’s own words as told to WND in late 2008. At the time, Pidgeon stated that he believed that Obama was “born in Kenya,” which presumably would have made him ineligible for the presidency. In speaking with Pidgeon today, he told The Post & Email that he was not sure where Obama was born, but that the “eligibility” issue is no longer front and center of the argument to remove him from office.

Earlier on Monday, Pidgeon was a guest on Erik Rush’s “Full Contact” radio program explaining the Articles of Impeachment and the direction he hopes the American people will take to see that they are implemented by the U.S. House of Representatives.

Pidgeon told The Post & Email that “the impetus for putting the North American Law Center together was to combat what has been an out-of-hand situation with certain NGOs in this country which will go unnamed and have had a tremendous amount of funding and done a tremendous amount of damage labeling free speech groups and other political action groups across the country ‘domestic terrorists’ and ‘potential domestic terrorists.’” He said that NALC’s intention is to “fight back” and present “arguments in law to the general public.”

“I can tell you that we have done a great deal of representation in how we have addressed military issues,” Pidgeon added, which include the Rules of Engagement and the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ).

In regard to the Articles of Impeachment directed at Obama, Pidgeon told us that there is a “legal necessity to drive the moral imperative to the House of Representatives to do the right thing.” “We’re just not willing to listen to excuses anymore. The representatives to the United States Congress were elected to a job. They took an oath to support the Constitution; there is all kinds of unconstitutional and criminal activity going on right under their noses. They have a duty to do something about it, and they need to do that duty.”

THE POST & EMAIL: How long have you been working on the Articles of Impeachment?

ATTY. PIDGEON: That’s an interesting question; probably since 2008. It’s been an ongoing task detailing his high crimes and misdemeanors. As far as the actual Articles of Impeachment, it’s been crafted over several months.

THE POST & EMAIL: Are you able to say how big the team is with whom you are working?

ATTY. PIDGEON: I’m not, but there is more than one of us.

THE POST & EMAIL: Members of Congress have been mentioning Obama’s impeachment since last summer. Reps. Blake Farenthold, Steve Stockman and Ted Yoho all mentioned it last year. I think there are many Americans who wonder why nothing has been done before now. Do you believe their hesitation stems from political correctness?

ATTY. PIDGEON: No, I don’t think so. I think it’s much more onerous than that, frankly. It has to do with inside-the-beltway, off-the-books contractual agreements that were made between the political parties. For instance, few Republicans know that the Republican Party entered into a 35-year stipulation to not sue the Democrats for voter fraud. The contract between a representative or senator and his constituency that puts him in office means nothing to most of these elected personas. The contracts that they make privately between each other’s political parties and their donors means everything to them. I believe – and this is my opinion – that there was a contract made with one of our sovereign debt-holders, namely, Saudi Arabia, to put a Muslim in office for two terms following the George W. Bush term for eight years, and all of this was coordinated back before 1992, before George H.W. Bush lost after having a 92% approval rating. He lost the election to Bill Clinton, and we saw two terms of Bill Clinton, a captain for the HWB cartel, hold office for eight yeas, and HWB’s son held office for eight years, and then we got a Muslim for eight years. That’s the contractual arrangement that was made, in my opinion. It’s a reasoned conclusion. I don’t have any documents to support that, and there aren’t going to be any documents readily available because I assure you that they’re under client confidentiality in some law office somewhere.

THE POST & EMAIL: Do you think Obama is a “foreign born domestic enemy,” as CDR Walter Francis Fitzpatrick, III (Ret.) claimed in his March 17, 2009 treason complaint? Do you think he is a practicing Muslim?

ATTY. PIDGEON: The way it stands right now, nobody can say for sure where he was born. I’m not even sure if Obama himself knows where he was born. I have my own problems with some of the “Kenyan-born” theory primarily because of Ann Dunham’s passport history, but that’s assuming that Ann Dunham is the mother. That’s an assumption; there is absolutely nothing in his birth record that can be corroborated. What little corroboration we have concerning his life is that at one point, he was known as “Barry Soetoro” and adopted by Lolo Soetoro. That much we know. It appears that he was also adopted by Ann Soetoro at that time. That appears to be the case. His name was Barry Soetoro, Indonesian national, Muslim of Muslim faith. His adopted father was Muslim, his reported biological father was Muslim; his mother was married to two Muslim men, according to the story that’s being told. So he was born a Muslim, and if you’re born a Muslim, you are a Muslim under the rules of Islam.

He wears a ring that carries the Shahada. He recited the Shahada to The New York Times in 2007 in Arabic without an accent. He told The Muslim Brotherhood in Cairo in April 2009 in Arabic, “I am one of you.” If people want to deny that he’s a Muslim, then go ahead. He abolished the National Day of Prayer in order to invite imams into the White House to pray. The New Testament says, “Ye shall know them by their fruits.” I think it’s pretty clear what his fruit is.

THE POST & EMAIL: People continue to ask why he isn’t taking action on the slaughter of Christians in the Middle East.

ATTY. PIDGEON: The fact is he trained, financed, funded and armed ISIS, and he trained, financed, funded and armed Al Qaeda in Syria. He trained, financed, armed and supplied the jihadis working in Libya.

THE POST & EMAIL: Is there documentation of that?

ATTY. PIDGEON: Yes, there is. As I said on the radio show, Walid Shoebat has a complete dossier on the documentation of what happened in Libya. He’s not the only one; the Egyptian Supreme Court has also put together a dossier under which they were able to accuse then-ambassador to Egypt, Anne Patterson, and Hillary Clinton and indict them both for inciting terrorism inside of Egypt because of their relationship with The Muslim Brotherhood to overthrow the lawful government of the nation of Egypt.

THE POST & EMAIL: Can they take any action on that: for instance, try them in absentia?

ATTY. PIDGEON: Absolutely they can. If they try them and convict them, OK, great; now what? I guess the answer is “Stay out of Egypt.”

THE POST & EMAIL: Have you shared your findings, particularly those in Article I, with the Maricopa County, AZ Cold Case Posse, which declared Obama’s long-form birth certificate and Selective Service form fraudulent?

ATTY. PIDGEON: I’ve had some discussions with Mike Zullo, and I’ve also spent some time with one of the guys who worked with the Cold Case Posse, Doug Vogt.

“AN EXTRAORDINARY LEVEL OF SCRUBBING”

(Jul. 29, 2014) — On Monday, the lead attorney for Articles of Impeachment issued by the North American Law Center (NALC), Stephen Pidgeon, spoke with The Post & Email at length about how and why the Articles were written and how they might be moved into the House Judiciary Committee for consideration.

The NALC’s impeachment document contains three Articles:

Usurpation of the Oval Office via Criminal Identity Fraud
Malfeasance, misconduct and abuse of the Oval Office, and
Aiding and abetting known enemies of the United States.

In Part 1, Pidgeon told The Post & Email that Obama has “trained, financed, funded and armed ISIS,” a barbaric terrorist group which is attempting to take over Iraq and participate in ethnic cleansing of Shia Muslims, Christians, and anyone else who fails to submit to their rule. In recent weeks, ISIS has murdered at least 1,000 people as its members have stormed across Iraq and parts of Syria in its goal to re-establish an Islamic caliphate in the Middle East.

Continuing from the discussion in Part 1, Pidgeon told us:

Doug [Vogt] put together a phenomenal affidavit that was filed in federal court here in Washington. Doug is a great guy; he’s very smart and very acute is what he does. As a consequence, his move into the federal court was not something frivolous; it was really quite substantive. What he put across, I thought, was ultimately very, very good because his sealed file ended up before the United States Supreme Court. The fact that that happened is extremely significant because his file is, in my view, really dispositive evidence. He knows who did the forgery, and the identification of the forger appears directly in the document. That kind of information becomes extremely important to an investigator. With that being said, I did speak with [Cold Case Posse lead investigator] Mike Zullo for a while when he was in the early stages of the investigation. But my documentation was already set out in “The Obama Error.” A lot of people didn’t read that, but if they had, they would have seen that the book is an affidavit of probable cause against Obama. It goes through the litany of offenses that had been committed. It’s a little old now, but I can tell you that back then, I was able to establish that the initial COLB, the Certification of Live Birth that Obama proffered which was a self-admitted forgery, also qualified as an impeachable offense. Impersonation under the federal statute is a serious felony.

THE POST & EMAIL: Is there something to substantiate that he is someone other than who he says he is?

ATTY. PIDGEON: Yes, I believe that he is “Barry Soetoro” at some level. I’ve spoken with a fellow who was in Project Pegasus under the CIA with Obama in 1981. He’s given me personal, eyewitness testimony as to when Obama elected to use the name “Obama.” He knows exactly when it happened: what year it happened, who suggested that it would be a good idea for him to use it; the whole of the story is there at present. Is he engaged in intentional identity fraud? Yes.

THE POST & EMAIL: So you believe that his real name is “Barry Soetoro,” it looks as if at some point, probably when he was a young adult, he “slid” into using the name “Barack Hussein Obama II.”

ATTY. PIDGEON: That’s correct, and then thereafter, of course, the files were cleansed to reflect that that’s what his name was.

THE POST & EMAIL: I’ve heard this from other people, too. Martha Trowbridge has a theory that Malcolm X is the father and that his background was cleansed when he began using the identity “Obama Hussein Obama.”

ATTY. PIDGEON: That is certainly one theory, but we can’t get that confirmed until somebody does a DNA test, which is not going to happen any time soon. You do know that he was detained in Russia in 2007?

THE POST & EMAIL: Yes, I read that report online.

ATTY. PIDGEON: It was on the suspicion of his being an MI-6 agent. I do talk about that in “The Obama Error.” Under the citizenship laws of the United Kingdom, which are a factor in American jurisprudence, believe it or not, he did, in fact, become a citizen of the United Kingdom automatically because of his age. We don’t know if he was operating under a British passport; all I know is that he was detained in Russia under suspicion of being a British agent. In order for them to do that, they probably – I’m not going to say they did – but there is a chance that they actually reviewed and saw a British passport.

THE POST & EMAIL: Which makes sense, because his alleged father was a British citizen at one time.

ATTY. PIDGEON: That’s where the connection would be made, yes.

THE POST & EMAIL: Why do you think he changed his identity, using government agencies to cover it up? Was he some kind of foreign agent gathering information for another government?

ATTY. PIDGEON: No, I don’t think so. I think what the record would substantiate was that he was groomed for the presidency by a group that expected him to advance; the grooming was accomplished on Saudi money. So as a result, they had a candidate in the wings who could be put forward and converted into a candidate for the presidency of the United States.

THE POST & EMAIL: Without anyone knowing.

ATTY. PIDGEON: That’s right. Every candidate has a little bit to hide or a lot to hide, depending on the candidate. I remember that George W. Bush was fearful that his DUI was going to come out. There are lots of things – “dirt” – that follow a candidate that can affect whether or not that candidate can advance. At some level, there is a “scrubbing” that goes on. There’s a lot more scrubbing with Democrats than there is with Republicans – not to give the Democrats grief, but that really is the case. So as a consequence, it wasn’t new for the Democrats to have to scrub a background. But where Obama is concerned, it was an extraordinary level of scrubbing that was required because they had a lot of background to hide. But if the money is there, then you can move ahead with that kind of a scrub, too, and there was a willingness to do it, I believe, on the part of those people who were willing to advance a Muslim candidate into the office in order to satisfy the demands of some of the creditors that we had as a result of Desert Storm and some of the other Gulf battles.

“WE EITHER ACT, OR WE LOSE THE NATION”

(Aug. 10, 2014) — In an interview with The Post & Email on the Articles of Impeachment issued by the North American Law Center (NALC), lead attorney Stephen Pidgeon stated that “grassroots support” is needed to move them into the House Judiciary Committee.

The U.S. Constitution provides for the accusation, trial and removal from office in the event of conviction for federal officers, including the president and commander-in-chief. Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution states:

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

In Part 1, Pidgeon told The Post & Email that NALC’s goal in issuing the Articles of Impeachment is to “drive the moral imperative to the House of Representatives to do the right thing.”

Pidgeon also stated that Obama “trained, financed, funded and armed ISIS,” the barbaric radical Islamic group which has murdered innocent men, women and children in the most heinous of ways in ethnic cleansing on a level not seen since Hitler’s conquering of Europe in the early 1940s.

Pidgeon said he has been in touch with Douglas Vogt, who filed a petition which ultimately reached the U.S. Supreme Court asking for a grand jury review of evidence he compiled on the forgery of Obama’s long-form birth certificate. Pidgeon said that he believes Vogt’s filing was “extremely important to an investigator” into Obama’s background and documentation.

Pidgeon said he has also “had some discussions with Mike Zullo,” who is the lead investigator of the Maricopa County, AZ Cold Case Posse, which, after six months of investigation, found that Obama’s long-form birth certificate and Selective Service registration form are “computer-generated forgeries.”

In 2011, Pidgeon wrote “The Obama Error,” which he described as “primarily an affidavit of probable cause.” “It goes through the litany of offenses that have been committed,” Pidgeon told us. “Back then, I was able to establish that the initial COLB, before he got into the long-form birth certificate, also qualified as an impeachable offense. Mispersonation under the federal statute is a serious felony.”

Pidgeon believes that “Obama” began using the name by which he is currently known as a young adult.

In Part 2, Pidgeon told us that he spoke with a former CIA operative who knew Obama in 1981 and had knowledge of when and why Obama adopted a new identity. Pidgeon said that at that point, Obama’s past was “scrubbed” at an “extraordinary level” to hide the fact that he is a Muslim, among other things.

Obama’s admittance into Harvard Law School is of particular interest to Pidgeon. He believes that Obama’s Harvard education was funded by Saudis to prepare a “Muslim candidate” for the presidency in order to satisfy U.S. creditors, among them Saudi Arabia. “We know that there’s a direct link between Sheikh Alwaleed bin Talal and the funding of Obama going into Harvard. Sheikh bin Talal funded $25,000,000 for an Islamic study center, and the demand that was made on the back side of that advance was that a certain person would be admitted into Harvard Law School, ” Pidgeon said.

He continued:

The person who was advancing some of this was Khalid al-Mansour, the founder of the Black Panthers, who had converted [to Islam], and he was the one who developed the relationship with Sheikh bin Talal. If you look closely at Mr. Obama’a record when he was in Chicago prior to his rise to power with the Democrats, back in the days when he was a Socialist Workers Party candidate, you’ll find out that he spent most of his time fundraising for the PLO and other hard Islamic groups that were operating in the Levant. That’s what his prior record looks like. He wasn’t a community organizer; he was a fundraiser for Islamic groups.

In all fairness, my review of Obama’s record during the ’90s does not indicate that he ever crossed the line where he was actually raising funds for prohibited organizations. There’s nothing that shows that he raised funds, for instance, for Hamas Hezbollah, or some of the other well-known jihadi organizations which are strictly prohibited under federal law. But there was no question that he was raising money for Islamic groups including Al-Fatah that would advance a claim against Israel, which was the brunt of his focus throughout all of the 1990s.

“Is there documentation of these claims which no one else has yet seen?”

I wouldn’t say no one else has seen it. I’ve provided all of the documentation of that in “The Obama Error.” There is documentation behind every one of the claims in the Articles of Impeachment. Some of it includes live testimony; some of it is documented fact. Most of the documentation that has been produced in this regard, however, it well-substantiated, well-known documentation. You don’t have to go far to find the record, because people don’t care about the record anymore.

“In the event that the House of Representatives hasn’t seen the documents you have, if they saw them, would it be enough to convince even the most recalcitrant congressman to vote for impeachment?”

No, because, of course, a congressman thinks in terms of political ramification. They don’t think in terms of legal ramification. It’s a political issue, not a legal issue, at least until somebody is arrested. You can rest assured that no one at the Justice Department is going to arrest anybody on these issues; that simply won’t happen. You’re asking Mr. Holder to go in and raid the hen house, and he’s not going to do it.

A lot of this documentation is preexisting, well-known material. To give you an example, the documentation concerning Fast & Furious: Congress has already taken testimony from an ATF agent who went “whistleblower” and explained to them what was happening. So Congress knows everything that took place in Fast & Furious: the fact that there were thousands of weapons, including over 35 50-caliber sniper rifles that were delivered in a so-called sting operation to Mexican drug cartels. They know that; that was given in live testimony before Congress. And those weapons were later used to kill American border agents and other Mexicans in Mexico City. So they really cannot avoid the reality that is before them. In order for them to avoid it, it has to do with snickering and sneering in arrogance against the American people and saying, “We don’t care what you think. We don’t care what you think, we don’t care what you want…we are your masters, and we’re telling you what to do, how to think, and when to think it.” That is the approach. This is something that Americans have to deal with. As I mentioned on the [Erik Rush "Full Contact"] show, we’re not here to stir up any kind of a rat’s nest; we’re just asserting the truth of the statement: “These are the federal laws that have been violated by this president.” It’s very straightforward stuff.

“And that’s outside of the identity fraud.”

The criminal identity fraud is, of course, first and foremost. We had long discussions to take care of that particular set of laws. If you say “the emperor has no clothes,” then you have to first suffer the slings and arrows of ridicule from people who believe that he does have clothes. That has happened, but nonetheless, when we have a president who has undeniably usurped the power of the office, how can you possibly look at the other crimes he’s committed without addressing the elephant in the room?

“Does Congress know that he’s committed identity fraud?”

Yes, they do. In many cases, they’ve heard from the CIA directly about what kind of uncovering will happen in the event that they come forward and say anything about what has happened. The identity fraud is the clearly provable path. We could sit and argue the esoterics of whether or not he’s a “natural born Citizen” of Article II, Section 1, clause 5 going back to the [John] Jay decision and what was the expectation of citizenship compared to the 14th Amendment. I’ve been down that path a million times, and there’s nothing wrong with that path.

“Because someday we should know exactly what the founders meant by the term, although I think a lot of us know.”

I think we do, too. But the thing is that that’s not the issue here. The issue is that whatever it is Obama has produced is forged. That is a significant issue, because when you file a forged long-form birth certificate for purposes of obtaining a federal job, you have committed a serious federal felony. That’s on the table.

“They would never have let Richard Nixon get away with something like this.”

Remember, Richard Nixon was expelled for political reasons. This isn’t a question of politics anymore; it’s a question of the survival of the United States. I think it’s really important for your readers to understand that the reason he has gotten away with this is because of an underlying contractual obligation into which certain people entered without the provision or disclosure to the people of the United States in order to further their own personal political careers. Once you can see that, now you know why they can’t let him go; why he is “golden,” if you will.

“So they’re pretending to represent their constituents, but there are other things that are paramount.”

Oh, absolutely. Their pocketbook is paramount; their political career, their pocketbook, and in some cases, their deals. Now some people might argue, “If we hadn’t done this, the Saudis wouldn’t have continued to buy our debt.” That’s one way of negotiating. But what if we had actually charged the Saudis for what it had cost us to mount a defense on their behalf in Kuwait?

“Then there wouldn’t have been any debt.”

Right. So somebody has been cooking the books, saying, “You owe us money for the service you provided us.” I like it; I like the thinking.

“It’s interesting that you said Obama has ties to the Saudis. On one of his shows within the last two months, Carl Gallups, who has been very close to the Cold Case Posse’s investigation, said, ‘We know that Obama comes from a deep Sunni background.’ Then his son Brandon said, ‘And we know that he has ties to Saudi Arabia.’ So you’re saying a lot of the same things they’re saying.”

Sure. The reason I’m saying them is not because I have evidence, but because it can be readily deduced from the history. It’s well in the public record that this funding came forward from Sheikh bin Talal. You may say, “That’s not an indication that Obama is actually Muslim; that’s just an indication that he had some funding help from a particular Arab sheikh.” OK, now let’s add that to the fact that he was born Muslim; let’s add that to the fact that he has a ring with the Shahada on his finger; let’s add that to the fact that he now has seven members of the Muslim Brotherhood sitting in cabinet positions in the White House…at some point, you have to say, “Gee, I wonder if he’s Muslim?”

“Given all of this, in your opinion, can this situation be rectified?”

The answer is: This is why we introduced the Articles of Impeachment. We have reached that point in American history where we either act, or we lose the nation. It’s really that simple. There’s really not anything more involved than that. We either act, or the nation is gone. If we’re going to act, we need to act lawfully, and the lawful pursuit of action for all Americans is an impeachment methodology.

I’m not interested in arguing if impeachment is the correct methodology: just do it.

“A lot of people say, ‘He’s not eligible, so he can’t be impeached.’ But perhaps his eligibility would become clearer if we could get discovery.”

You don’t have to worry about any of that. He has been sworn into office; therefore, he holds the position by color of title. If he holds the position by color of title, you cannot exercise a different method against him. You are required to bring Articles of Impeachment, because otherwise, he has sovereign immunity.

This is why that whole argument is moot. What needs to be done is he needs to be charged with high crimes and misdemeanors.

“Constitutionally, is there an option whereby if impeachment were to happen this summer, Sen. Harry Reid could refuse to hold a trial in the Senate for political reasons?”

He could, although our position is that Harry Reid is disqualified, because he has been shown to what arguably could be considered a co-conspirator to keep the identity of Mr. Obama a secret from the American public. We would demand his recusal. He cannot do anything because he’s somebody who is going to be criminally named in this action.

“Are the Articles of Impeachment with the House Judiciary Committee?”

Not yet. What we’re asking for is help in disseminating the information. You know the website of the North American Law Center. We are trying to get a grassroots movement so that people can download the Articles and then forward them to their congressmen. It’s a very straightforward process. If people say, “It can’t be done,” then it won’t be done.

“We know that some members of Congress say they want impeachment. Rep. Steve King said that it will happen if Obama keeps issuing executive orders, and Rep. Steve Stockman said that Obama is ‘begging to be impeached.’ So it’s not as if it hasn’t been on some of their minds.”

It won’t be long now before the truth surfaces, and the truth will prevail. That is, as you might imagine, an extremely big deal, because once the truth comes out and people say, “We know what the truth is now,” it’s not subject to a debate, and it’s not subject to somebody else calling you a name. I think most Americans who have any sense of alertness whatsoever are well aware of the fact that we are on the verge of completely losing the nation. I think that’s a big driver for people and that if they take steps to contact their congressmen with these Articles, we will be able to move forward.

For your information, I have been working tirelessly for the past approximately six years to get to the bottom of what I now consider to be the greatest fraud perpetrated in American history and believe that I have come across overwhelming evidence that may prove that we in fact have a fraud and a usurper that resides in the people’s White House, despite the overt lack of journalistic investigating on the part of the American press. This evidence clearly indicates that the conspiracy to carry out said fraud was much broader than originally thought, which includes a forty-year story that requires a book, not a column, to tell because the evidence suggests that our supposed President was being groomed from a very young age for the moment in history that would end American supremacy in the world, and usher in a new era of Global Marxist Governance, as documented in my letter to your office of July 13, 2014.

As you probably know by now, I am a retired Marine Corps Mustang Officer and when I was commissioned I was required to take the following oath:

“I, (state your name), having been appointed a (rank) in the United States (branch of service), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the office upon which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

This oath specifically states that the Constitution will be supported and defended against all enemies and it acknowledges that the enemy may be found on foreign soil or in one’s own backyard.

As you know, any commissioned officer and/or public servant who takes this oath and then conspires or is a party to an act or actions that seek to undermine by purpose of evasion, the spirit and intent of the Constitution of the United States would fit the definition of a traitor.

What concerns and/or pains me immensely is that, although our own elected representatives constantly remind us that they support our troops that continue to give their all, to include their lives to uphold and defend our Constitution, they stood by while Army LtCol Terry Lakin was stripped of his honor and had everything taken from him, to include his freedom, for simply abiding by his oath as a military commissioned officer by having the fortitude to question President Obama’s Constitutional eligibility to hold the office of President and Commander-In-Chief of our armed forces.

However, following a heated feud between Trump and London Mayor Sadiq Khan, regarding recent terror attacks in London, Khan called for PM Teresa May to cancel the president’s visit with the queen. Unfortunately for these Trump-haters, the British government has reiterated and confirmed the invitation to Trump, AFP reported.

Trump seized on Khan’s remark that there was “no reason to be alarmed” at the increased presence of armed police officers in the city streets, by criticizing Khan for allegedly attempting to downplay the seriousness and alarming prevalence of Islamist terror attacks throughout the U.K.

Regardless of Trump and Khan’s squabble, the Queen appears to be good and ready to welcome Trump to the British nation. If Trump’s past interactions with world leaders are any indication, the meeting should go very well indeed.

The Islamic State is at it again. More stories of atrocities against Christians continued to surface. In one, a Christian man, Meghrik, said the bus in which he was riding in Syria was stopped at what turned out to be an ISIS checkpoint. Three men dressed in black entered and began checking all the passengers’ identification papers. “Are you a Christian?” they asked him. “No,” he said. He explained that he was raised by Christian parents and his family name was Christian, but that he was not. “You’re lying,” the fighter said. “Your name says you’re a Christian. Come with me.” He was taken to an ISIS judge who “concluded that he was a Christian” and said “You’re sentenced to death.” Thereafter Meghrik was severely whipped and tortured. At one point, he was thrown in a hole in the ground and surrounded by an execution squad prepared to fire. After 10 days of this treatment and for unknown reasons — Meghrik cites a miracle and is now a devout Christian — he was released.

While much of the world acknowledges that the Islamic State is engaged in acts of genocide against religious minorities such as Christians and Yazidis, in other Muslim states, such as Pakistan, Christians and other non-Muslim minorities are experiencing a “drip-drip genocide“, said the noted author, journalist and Pakistani politician Farahnaz Ispahani:

“Right before the partition of India and Pakistan, we had a very healthy balance of religions other than Islam. Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Zoroastrians. Pakistan goes from 23 per cent [non-Muslim at the time of partition in 1947], which is almost a quarter of its population, to three per cent today. I call it a ‘drip drip genocide’, because it’s the most dangerous kind of wiping out of religious communities…. It doesn’t happen in one day. It doesn’t happen over a few months. Little by little by little, laws and institutions and bureaucracies and penal codes, textbooks that malign other communities, until you come to the point of having this sort of jihadi culture that is running rampant.”

Other accounts of Muslim persecution of Christians to surface in February 2017 include, but are not limited to, the following:

The Slaughter of Christians in Egypt

As in January, when five different Christians were killed in four separate hate crimes around the country, another murderous wave took non-Muslim minorities by storm, this time in al-Arish, Sinai. The murders may have resulted from a video released in February by the “Islamic State in Egypt.” In the video, masked militants promise more attacks on the “worshipers of the cross” — a reference to the Coptic Christians of Egypt, of whom they also refer to as their “favorite prey” and “infidels who are empowering the West against Muslim nations.” One of the militants, carrying an AK-47 assault rifle, added, “God gave orders to kill every infidel.” Below is a list of Christians murdered in al-Arish:

January 30: A 35-year-old Christian was in his small shop working with his wife and young son when three masked men walked in, opened fire and killed him. The masked men then sat around his shop table, eating chips and drinking soda, while the bodies lay in a pool of blood before the terrified wife and child.
February 13: A 57-year-old Christian laborer was shot and killed as he tried to fight off masked men trying to kidnap his young son on a crowded street in broad daylight. The men, after murdering the father, seized his young son and took him to an unknown location (where, if precedent is accurate, he is likely being tortured or possibly killed, if a hefty ransom is not paid).
February 16: A 45-year-old Christian schoolteacher was moonlighting at his shoe store with his wife, when masked men walked in the crowded shop and shot him dead.
February 17: A 40-year-old medical doctor was killed by masked men who, after forcing him to stop his car, opened fire and killed him. He leaves a widow and two children.
February 22: Islamic State affiliates killed a 65-year-old Christian man by shooting him in the head. They then abducted and tortured his 45-year-old son before burning him alive and dumping his charred remains near a schoolyard.
February 23: A Christian plumber was shot dead in front of his wife and children at their home.

After the slayings, at least 300 Christians living in al-Arish fled their homes, with nothing but their clothes on their backs and their children in their hands. In a video of these Copts, one man can be heard saying “They are burning us alive! They seek to exterminate Christians altogether! Where’s the military?” Another woman yells at the camera:

“Tell the whole world, look — we’ve left our homes, and why? Because they kill our children, they kill our women, they kill our innocent people! Why? Our children are terrified to go to schools. Why? Why all this injustice?! Why doesn’t the president move and do something for us? We can’t even answer our doors without being terrified!”

“We loved our country but our country doesn’t love us,” said the brother of one of the slain.

Muslim Abduction, Rape, Murder and Mutilation of Christian Women

Pakistan: Hours after being dropped off at the Convent of Jesus and Mary school in Punjab by her brother, Tania Mariyam, a 12-year-old Christian girl, was found dead in a canal. Despite all the evidence to the contrary — including her clothes being ripped off and signs of drugging — police investigations concluded that she had committed suicide. After three weeks of pressure from Mariyam’s family and human rights groups, who insisted that the girl had been raped and murdered — as so many Christian girls (and boys) in Pakistan have been before her — police finally conceded that she had not killed herself. Even so, “the severe delays,” says the British Pakistani Christian Association, “mean that much of the evidence has been lost.”

“There was a disgusting police cover up,” the murdered girl’s father said, “and I fear that they have colluded with the murderer and know more than they are letting on. They do not care about Christians.”

West Africa: According to a report, “Muslims radicals punished the [14-year-old] daughter of a Christian missionary for her faith by subjecting her to brutal female genital mutilation. Currently, the young woman remains in a coma, struggling for her life.” Lydia’s father, Yoonus, formerly a Muslim scholar, had converted to Christianity. When the local Muslim community heard of this — and that he “was now leading Muslims to Christ” — they “urged him to return to Islam and promised to give him gifts if he rejected Christianity. However, Yoonus and his family refused to renounce their faith, resulting in increased persecution,” including the attack on his daughter.

Egypt: Two new cases surfaced of young Christian girls being abducted with the indifference or complicity of the authorities. After Rania Eed Fawzy, 17, failed to return home, her parents and lawyer said it was “an incident of kidnapping and forced conversion to Islam.” They “filed a complaint with the local police that a Muslim male named Rabee Radi Naghi had taken their daughter against her will.” When the family lawyer contacted the Egyptian Attorney General, Nabil Ahmed Sadek, requesting “to remove Rania from hiding and deliver her to one of the Christian Orthodox homeless youth shelters”—as “[n]ormally in such cases the local authorities know where the kidnap victim is kept” — the Attorney General refused and said, “[T]he girl embraced Islam, what do you want?”

As the report explains, even if she did freely convert, “a child in Egypt is considered a minor until age 21. Until [one comes] of age, conversion from one religion to another is illegal.”

“In such kidnapping cases, however, the authorities always settle the issue by accepting the minor Christian girl’s ‘conversion’ to Islam … never the other way around. In conversion from Islam to Christianity complaints, police go above and beyond their role to retrieve the girl and warn her of death from apostasy. Such cases suit the purposes of ideological jihad. By removing a non-Muslim young woman of child-bearing age from the Christian community, adding her to the Muslim girl population to bear Muslim children serves to increase the Muslim population while decreasing Christian numbers.”

Separately, after an apparent ruse caused the older brother of Hanan Adly, an 18-year-old Christian girl, to step out of the house one night, she disappeared from the family farm. The family and their lawyer made a formal complaint to the police, accusing a neighbor, Mohamed Ahmed Nubi Soliman, 27, of kidnapping her. Prosecutors summoned the man and “he admitted a connection with the incident. However, he was released due to lack of physical evidence,” says the report.

“A national security investigation was ordered, but … there has been no progress with the case, despite protests outside the police station by friends and family of Hanan.”

Mali: A Christian nun was kidnapped in the Muslim-majority African nation with “no claims or demands for ransom”, said a local Christian leader. Sister Cecilia Narváez Argoti, of Colombian background, belonged to the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of Mary Immaculate.

“The kidnappers arrived on 7 February from a secluded location a bit far from the village where Sister Cecilia and her sisters were. They broke into the missionary center and plundered money and computer equipment. They then escaped with the ambulance of the medical center with the nun.”

The global shipping company United Parcel Service and an Edina staffing agency are being sued for allegedly barring Muslim workers from fulfilling their prayer requirements at the UPS warehouse facility in Mendota Heights and then firing them.

The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) is representing the plaintiffs in the lawsuit filed last week in Hennepin County District Court against UPS and Doherty Staffing Solutions on behalf of two line workers who were fired in June 2014.

Abdullahi Dahir and Abdifatah Hassan said they had been allowed to pray as needed while at work until UPS hired a new operations manager. That manager refused to let Muslim employees pray outside of regular break times and also warned them against using trips to the bathroom to fulfill their need to pray five times a day, the suit contends. Those who didn’t comply were fired, the suit alleges.

“There is no lawful reason for any company to stop Muslims from praying when previously that company had allowed such prayers in a manner that did not impact the workplace,” said CAIR-MN’s civil rights director Amir Malik, one of the plaintiffs’ attorneys. UPS and Doherty Staffing Solutions withdrew “this reasonable accommodation … in order to get rid of the Muslim employees,” Malik said in a statement announcing the suit.

In response to the suit, UPS said in a statement that it joined with Doherty in a thorough investigation “and found no evidence to support these allegations.” When contacted Monday, a Doherty representative made no one available to respond and declined to take a message.

During a UPS employee meeting, the suit reads, operations manager Scott Klein asked for a show of hands from anyone needing to pray at work. Most Muslim workers raised their hands. Then, according to the lawsuit, “Mr. Klein stated that he wanted to replace all of the employees who had raised their hands.”

Despite further talks between management and the plaintiffs, the Muslim workers were barred from meeting their prayer needs, sent home and told not to return if they insisted on praying at the required times.

“Faced with losing his job or losing his religion,” CAIR-MN said in its statement announcing the suit, “Mr. Hassan and other Somali Muslim workers were forced out of their employment at the UPS facility.”

Doherty is a defendant, the statement explained, because the agency “abdicated [its] role as a staffing agency and let the Muslims be terminated.”

The suit claims violations of the Minnesota Human Rights Act, and it seeks an unspecified amount of damages for alleged discrimination based on religious affiliation, race and national origin.

Joon H. Kim, the Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Dana Boente, the Acting Assistant Attorney General for National Security, William F. Sweeney Jr., the Assistant Director-in-Charge of the New York Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”), and James P. O’Neill, the Commissioner of the Police Department for the City of New York (“NYPD”), announced that ALI KOURANI and SAMER EL DEBEK, a/k/a “Samer Eldebek,” were arrested on Thursday, June 1, 2017, on charges related to their alleged activities on behalf of Hizballah, a designated foreign terrorist organization.

KOURANI was arrested in the Bronx for providing, attempting, and conspiring to provide material support to Hizballah; receiving and conspiring to receive military-type training from Hizballah; a related weapons offense that is alleged to have involved, among other weapons, a rocket-propelled grenade launcher and machine guns; violating and conspiring to violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (“IEEPA”); and naturalization fraud to facilitate an act of international terrorism. KOURANI was presented on Friday, June 2, 2017, before Magistrate Judge Barbara Moses in Manhattan federal court.

EL DEBEK was arrested in Livonia, Michigan, outside of Detroit, for providing, attempting, and conspiring to provide material support to Hizballah; receiving and conspiring to receive military-type training from Hizballah; use of weapons in connection with a crime of violence that is alleged to have involved, among other weapons, explosives, a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, and machine guns; and violating and conspiring to violate IEEPA. EL DEBEK was presented on Monday, June 5, 2017, before Magistrate Judge Henry Pitman in Manhattan federal court.

KOURANI’s Alleged Support of Hizballah

KOURANI, who was born in Lebanon, attended Hizballah-sponsored weapons training in Lebanon in 2000 when he was approximately 16 years old. After lawfully entering the United States in 2003, KOURANI obtained a Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering in 2009, and a Masters of Business Administration in 2013.

KOURANI and certain of his relatives were present during the summer 2006 conflict between Israel and Hizballah in Lebanon, when a residence belonging to his family was destroyed. KOURANI was subsequently recruited to join the IJO by 2008. In August 2008, KOURANI submitted an application for naturalization in the United States in which he falsely claimed, among other things, that he was not affiliated with a terrorist organization. In April 2009, KOURANI became a naturalized citizen and was issued a United States passport. Despite claiming in his passport application that he had no travel plans, KOURANI traveled to Guangzhou, China – the location of Guangzhou Company-1 – on May 3, 2009. He later claimed to the FBI that the purpose of the trip was to meet with medical device manufacturers and other businessmen.

KOURANI was assigned an IJO handler, or mentor, responsible for providing him with taskings, debriefings, and arranging training. KOURANI sometimes communicated with his handler using coded email communications, including messages sent by the handler that informed KOURANI of the need to return to Lebanon. In order to establish contact with his handler when KOURANI returned to Lebanon, KOURANI called a telephone number associated with a pager (the “IJO Pager”) and provided a code that he understood was specific to him. After KOURANI called the IJO Pager, the handler would contact KOURANI to set up an in-person meeting by calling a phone belonging to one of KOURANI’s relatives. The IJO also provided KOURANI with additional training in tradecraft, weapons, and tactics. In 2011, for example, KOURANI attended an IJO military training camp located in the vicinity of Birkat Jabrur, Lebanon, where he was provided with military-tactics and weapons training, including training in the use of a rocket propelled grenade launcher, an AK-47 assault rifle, an MP5 submachine gun, a PKS machine gun (a Russian-made belt-fed weapon), and a Glock pistol.

Based on requests from IJO personnel, which were conveyed during periodic in-person meetings when KOURANI returned to Lebanon, KOURANI also conducted operations that included searching for weapons suppliers in the United States who could provide firearms to support IJO operations, identifying individuals affiliated with the Israeli Defense Force, gathering information regarding operations and security at airports in the United States and elsewhere, and surveilling U.S. military and law enforcement facilities in Manhattan and Brooklyn. KOURANI transmitted some of the products of his surveillance and intelligence-gathering efforts back to IJO personnel in Lebanon using digital storage media.

KOURANI, 32, of the Bronx, is charged with providing material support and resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison; conspiracy to provide material support and resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison; receiving military-type training from a designated foreign terrorist organization, which carries a sentence of 10 years in prison or a fine; conspiracy to receive military-type training from a designated foreign terrorist organization, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison; conspiracy to possess, carry, and use firearms and destructive devices during and in relation to crimes of violence, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison; making and receiving a contribution of funds, goods, and services to and from Hizballah, in violation of IEEPA, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison; conspiracy to make and receive a contribution of funds, goods, and services to and from Hizballah, in violation of IEEPA, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison; and naturalization fraud in connection with an act of international terrorism, which carries a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.

Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) jihadists, in the most recent edition of their propaganda magazine Rumiyah, have reportedly released “unseen” pictures of “belligerent Christians” executed by the jihadist group in the Philippines.
“The soldiers of the Khilafah in East Asia stormed the city of Marawi in the southern Philippines on the island of Mindanao, chased out the local police and the military, and raised the banner of the Islamic State,” the jihadists wrote in the latest issue of Rumiyah, titled “The Jihad in East Asia.”
The new issue focuses on ISIS’s ongoing operations in the Christian-majority nation of the Philippines, where the terrorist group has been clashing with government forces, particularly in the country’s only “Islamic city” of Marawi.
In late May, Filipino jihadist groups loyal to ISIS, Abu Sayyaf and the Maute fighters, captured the city, and the government forces have been trying to liberate the Marawi since.
ISIS is trying to establish a caliphate in the city, burning cathedrals, taking Christian hostages, and killing civilians who were unable to quote scripture from the Quran.
In Rumiyah, the leader of ISIS’s East Asia branch incites Muslims to “teach the Crusaders that zero hour has arrived.”
“Our meeting will be at Washington and Moscow,” writes Rita Katz, the director of the SITE Intelligence Group that tracks jihadi groups online via Twitter:

THE FBI have reportedly launched a probe into a Muslim hate preacher in Michigan after claims he radicalised London Bridge killer Khuram Butt.
News of the probe comes after the family of evil Butt’s ex-wife said he used to beat her and was “full of anger and hate”.
Butt reportedly watched hate videos by cleric Ahmad Musa Jibril who has inspired Islamic State fighters and extremists.
A former friend of the ringleader – gunned down by armed cops alongside his two accomplices after the atrocity that claimed eight innocent lives – said he used to be an avid follower of the American preacher, known for his hatred of the West.
The Daily Mail reports that a joint UK-US investigation has been launched to discover if Jibril was involved in planning the van and knife attack.
The family of Butt’s first wife have told the Mail his hate led to the breakdown of the marriage and that she walked out after he hit her.
After last week’s attack it was revealed that preacher Jibril’s online rants were popular with Butt, who is said to have masterminded last weekend’s horror attack in the capital….
A pal claimed he had been radicalised while watching online clips of Jibril’s hardline sermons and said he even contacted the authorities after becoming concerned over his friend’s increasingly extremist views….
Jibril is an Arab-American Islamist preacher who has reportedly influenced hundreds of Westerners to fight in the Syrian conflict.
His alleged call for jihad in 2005 led US federal prosecutors to describe him as a man who “encouraged his students to spread Islam by the sword, to wage a holy war” and “to hate and kill non-Muslims”.
His lectures have been criticised for turning into angry rants about Western crimes against Muslims and he peppered his talk with invectives against Shi’a Muslims and called on God to turn Jewish children into orphans.
From his home in Michigan, the convicted fraudster produces Internet lectures that advocate a Salafist version of Islam that praises jihad, although he doesn’t specifically call upon his followers to join jihadi groups.
He has directly praised Syrian rebels, comparing them to those fighting on behalf of Islam in the religion’s early days.

Thomas Fuentes, the FBI’s special agent in charge of International Operations, noted in 2007 that Hizballah is reluctant to launch violent attacks on U.S. soil because it would hinder their overall operations: “They want to maintain a low profile by engaging in criminal activity [but] not direct attacks….They’ve not been enthusiastic about doing it on US soil because of the attention and reaction that would occur.”

That may be changing now.

One week after the FBI raided a Dearborn home in the middle of the night, a new terrorism case surfaced in New York on Thursday involving two men: a Dearborn man who allegedly received bomb-making training from a terror group and another man who allegedly plotted attacks on New York.
Samer el Debek, 37, of Dearborn and Ali Kourani, 32, of the Bronx were arrested a week ago and charged with training and working on behalf of Hizballah, a U.S.-designated terrorist organization based in Lebanon.
“FBI bomb technicians have assessed that el Debek received extensive training as a bomb-maker,” the Justice Department stated.
The charges were unsealed in Manhattan federal court on Thursday, one week after federal agents raided a Dearborn home in what they described as an operation involving national security. Sources familiar with the case tell the Free Press the raid involved el Debek, who was arrested in Livonia that same day and subsequently charged with numerous crimes — though none involved plotting attacks in New York.
In December, another Dearborn man was sentenced to five years in prison for seeking to join Hizballah in Lebanon. Also, in 2014 in a separate case, a former Dearborn resident was killed in Syria while fighting for Hizballah.
According to criminal complaints unsealed Thursday in Manhattan’s U.S. District Court, el Debek and Kourani were recruited as Hizballah operatives and received military-style training, including in the use of rocket-propelled grenade launchers and machine guns, in support of the group’s terrorist mission.
Kourani allegedly conducted surveillance of potential targets in the U.S., including military and law enforcement facilities in New York, authorities said….
El Debek, a naturalized U.S. citizen, was first recruited by Hizballah in late 2007 or early 2008. Shortly before being recruited, he expressed his support for the terror group’s leader in an e-mail and eventually received a salary from Hizballah through 2015.
For years, authorities said, el Debek received military training from Hizballah in Lebanon. From 2008 through 2104, the terror group taught him how to make bombs, handle weapons and conduct surveillance and countersurveillance.
According to the government, el Debek was trained in techniques and methods similar to those used to build the bomb that in 2012 blew up a bus in Bulgaria that was transporting Israeli tourists, killing six and injuring 32. That terror attack, the government said, was carried out by one of el Debek’s relatives.
While working for Hizballah, el Debek conducted missions in Thailand and Panama. One of his missions was to clean up explosive materials in a house in Bangkok that others had left because they were under surveillance, the government said. At the direction of Hizballah, el Debek used his U.S. passport to enter and leave Thailand so that he could travel from Malaysia to Thailand without obtaining a visa.
El Debek’s missions in Panama included locating U.S. and Israeli Embassies, casing security procedures at the Panama Canal and the Israeli Embassy and locating hardware stores where explosive materials could be purchased. After returning from a 2012 trip to Panama, el Debek’s handlers asked him for photographs of the U.S. Embassy and details about its security procedures….

Early this week, CNN was accused of staging a Muslim-led anti-terror protest after the London terror attacks. Now, more footage has dropped that shows what happened on the scene before the CNN shot was taken.
A Youtube video taken by Claire Jordan shows her milling around the scene and “protest” prior to CNN lining up the protesters for their on-air shot.
There is a group of people in the area, both Muslim and non-Muslim, and some of them can be seen handing out bouquets of flowers and posters.
Jordan, narrating the video, observes, “you see more press than anyone else.”
Jordan then crosses the street and shows the Muslim women who were featured on the CNN broadcast. They are located on the opposite side of the street and “they’re taking selfies, none of them have got flowers.”…

Media pundits are more than happy to remain hyper-focused on what they absurdly allege are “incriminating” issues related to Donald Trump’s presidency. But rarely, if ever, do they focus on what, at least in theory, is good news for Democrats and Republicans alike — for example, the Trump administration’s unprecedented rollback in regulatory output.

After all, in 2011, Barack liar-nObama stated: “What I have done — and this is unprecedented, by the way, no administration has done this before — is I’ve said to each agency, don’t just look at current regulations — or don’t just look at future regulations, regulations that we’re proposing, let’s go backwards and look at regulations that are already on the books, and if they don’t make sense, let’s get rid of them.

Of course, the truth is that the regulatory state grew exponentially under liar-nObama despite his rhetoric, and Democrats — contrary to what they claim — advocate regulations anywhere and everywhere they can get them. But one of the most ignored achievements of the Trump administration so far is just how little the regulatory state is growing.

In "The Historic Nature of the Regulatory Slowdown," the American Action Forum’s Sam Batkins writes of the “profound” nature of Trump’s curtailing the regulatory state. Batkins astonishingly reveals, “The White House has released just 8 percent of the historical volume of regulation. Cabinet agencies have only finalized $33 million in costs, compared to a 2005 to 2017 average of $26 billion. On the cost side, regulatory output is just 0.12 percent of historic norms.” He adds, “By virtually any measure, dating back through two Democratic presidents and one Republican president, the lack of regulatory output is historic. … For perspective, the liar-nObama Administration finalized $58 billion in regulatory costs during roughly the first four months of 2016. President Bush approved $22 billion in costs during this period in 2008.”

What would truly put the icing on the cake is if this trend can be maintained — which is questionable for various reasons and impending circumstances. But so far, the crackdown is truly something to behold. Hopefully, it also signals the revival of U.S. manufacturing. The Manhattan Institute’s Mark P. Mills says, “Complying with regulations costs manufacturers an average of $20,000 per employee per year, twice as great a burden as for other businesses. For the smallest manufacturers (i.e., those with fewer than 50 employees), that annual cost is $35,000 per employee per year. In surveys, America’s manufacturers routinely rank regulatory burdens as the top impediment to growth; a large majority also say that regulatory burdens are higher in America than in other nations.” We’ve got the momentum; let’s capitalize on reform by going even further. ~The Patriot Post

{rickwells.us} ~ Anyone who was paying attention to the actions and words of former Attorney General under Hussein liar-nObama, Eric Holder, knew that he was almost as big of a liar as the pretend “president” and equally culpable in many of the activities that were part of their shared anti-America agenda. Now, with the release of a House Investigative Report comes some more validation of that fact.

Bret Baier details, “An absolutely blistering report tonight, out, saying the liar-nObama administration in general and former Attorney General Eric Holder in particular, repeatedly lied to the family of a slain border patrol officer about the weapons used in his death and stonewalled efforts to get at the truth.”

That slain border patrol officer was Brian Terry, and among those family members who Eric Holder and his accomplices lied to was his mother, who is featured in the video report. It’s very similar to the situation faced by Patricia Smith and others who lost family members in Benghazi, who were also lied to be liar-nObama and by liar-Hillary Clinton in the same manner, giving excuses instead of truthful answers and obstructing investigative efforts.

The report describes the Fast and Furious gun running scam as a gun walking sting that went wrong and not a deliberate arming of the Mexican gangs for whom the Democrats make entry and trafficking into the United States so incredibly easy. There was no basis in reason for the supposed sting and no method for tracking the guns once they were out of sight, but it was a somehow still a “sting” and not the arming of their cartel allies.

Senator Charles Grassley, upon confirmation of the fact that 64,000 pages of documents were erroneously labeled as being protected by executive privilege as part of the obstruction by Holder and liar-nObama, was outraged. He said the gold seal of authenticity now has been applied to the House’s bi-partisan vote to hold the Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt.”

Terry’s mother said in her remarks, “Only one possible motivation remains for all of those involved who have covered up Fast and Furious. That is to conceal their own shame and disgrace.” With all due respect, Mrs. Terry, there’s another more likely possibility, particularly that you are dealing with Democrats incapable of shame or disgrace, and prone to criminal activity and profiteering. They’re covering up their complicity, a potential much larger criminal operation that may involved the cartels, drug running and human trafficking, and protecting themselves from discovery and the consequences. That is far more likely.

If that weren’t the case, why would they, as whistleblower John Dodson testified, engaged in the acts they did against him. He said, “I was lied about, disparaged, publicly attacked, ridiculed, libeled, I’ve been transferred eleven times, denied promotion, ostracized, barred from government workplaces and banned from public buildings.”

They’re sending a message and it’s not to hide their shame. The reporter notes that “no one from the ATF or Justice Department was fired or severely disciplined for the cover up.” Will there be charges drawn up against liar-nObama and Holder and maybe liar-Hillary?

It is indeed interesting that Donald Trump’s biggest request and frustration with former FBI Director James Comey deals with the question of “honest loyalty.” It’s only this week, after Trump has repeatedly insisted that he was not personally under FBI investigation, that Comey finally confirms that truth. This after, according to Comey’s own testimony, Trump had requested the FBI clear the record regarding himself and the investigation into Russian election meddling. Clearly, Comey made little effort to set the public record straight; instead, he seemed to prefer allowing the continuation of “the cloud” of the MSM’s unsubstantiated collusion narrative to remain unchallenged.

Indeed, he told the Senate he took notes because “I was honestly concerned that [the president] might lie about the nature of that meeting.”

In a phone call from Trump on March 30th, Comey recollects, “[The President] asked what we could do to ‘lift the cloud.’ I responded that we were investigating the matter as quickly as we could, and that there would be great benefit, if we didn’t find anything, to our having done the work well. He agreed, but then re-emphasized the problems this was causing him.” Regarding the same phone conversation, Comey’s written testimony continues, “I explained that we had briefed the leadership of Congress on exactly which individuals we were investigating and that we had told Congressional leaders that we were not personally investigating President Trump. I reminded him I had previously told him that. He repeatedly told me, ‘We need to get that fact out.’ (I did not tell the President that the FBI and the Department of Justice had been reluctant to make public statements that we did not have an open case on President Trump for a number of reasons, most importantly because it would create a duty to correct, should that change.)”

That statement by Comey sums up the whole problem and gives insight into interpreting what Trump meant in his request for “loyalty” from Comey. While at least three times by Comey’s own admission he told Trump that the president was not under investigation, Comey remained reluctant to share this information with the general public because he was worried that the status could change. Talk about blatant bureaucratic hog wash. Comey certainly had no qualms about telling the public when the FBI had opened and then closed its investigation into liar-Hillary Clinton, only to announce that he was reopening it, followed by a another election-layup announcement that he had closed it again.

Comey also noted, as he did in May, that former Attorney General Loretta Lynch leaned on him to downplay the liar-Hillary Clinton by calling it a “matter” and not an “investigation.”

In all honesty, Comey’s testimony ends up providing greater support for Trump’s decision to fire him. In fact, if anything, it corroborates Trump’s account of his communications with Comey — that Comey had indeed repeatedly assured him that he was not under investigation. However, the Leftmedia will still attempt to spin this as the “smoking gun” of Trump obstructing the Russia investigation. The reality is there’s not even smoke here.

He plays a clip of Comey saying, “I asked a friend of mine to share the content of the memo with a reporter. Didn’t do it myself for a variety of reasons, but I asked him to because I thought that might prompt the appointment of a special counsel. And so I asked a close friend of mine to do it.” That special counsel, as it turns out, was also is also a close friend of his and his former boss at the FBI. Rep Louie Gohmert was busy during the hearings doing real work, but he has reviewed Comey’s testimony and described it as “shocking.” Gohmert says, “I understand apparently President Trump says he didn’t actually question his loyalty, but you know, Lou, you know the President could tell. ‘There’s a potential problem here with his being honorable and loyal’ and man, was that the truth!” Gohmert quotes a Twitter user who said, “Comey: ‘Loretta Lynch told me to lie and I didn’t write that down, but I wrote down that Trump stuff because I was afraid he would lie.’ I mean, you know, holy cow. {townhall.com} ~ Last weekend, the FBI arrested an employee of a corporation in Augusta, Georgia, that had a contract with the National Security Agency and charged her with espionage. Espionage occurs when someone who has been entrusted to safeguard state secrets fails to do so. In this case, the government alleges that the person to whom state secrets had been entrusted is 25-year-old Reality Leigh Winner, who had a top-secret national security clearance.

The government claims that Winner downloaded and printed a top-secret NSA report, removed the printed version of the report from her employer's premises, and then mailed it to The Intercept, a highly regarded international media outlet that exposes government wrongdoing.

The government says it learned of this when folks from The Intercept called the NSA and told agents what they had received and what they planned to publish. After hearing agents describe the potential harm to their work if the full report were to be released, The Intercept agreed to redact certain portions, though it published the bulk of the report.

The report is startling, as it reveals that the NSA discovered that Russian hackers in late October and early November 2016 planted cookies attractive, uniquely tailored links into the websites of 122 American city and county clerks responsible for counting ballots in the presidential election. This means that if any employee of those clerks' offices clicked onto any cookie, the hackers had access to -- and thus the ability to interfere with -- the tabulation of votes. This NSA report is at sharp odds with the denials of Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election made last year by President Barack liar-nObama and made last week by Russian President Vladimir Putin, and it is profoundly more detailed and alarming than anything the federal government has thus far revealed.

Doesn't the American public have the right to know what the Russians did in the election? Is it necessarily criminal to make such things public? Isn't the NSA supposed to protect us from foreign hackers who are attempting to interfere with the core American electoral process -- the election of the president -- and not keep us in the dark if it fails to do so?

Here is the back story.

I have argued since 2013, when we first learned from the Edward Snowden revelations that the NSA has gathered too much data about too many innocent people since 2005, that it does so in violation of the Constitution and federal law and that it suffers from information overload -- meaning it has more raw data than it has resources to examine in a timely and effective manner.

The result of all this is liberty lost -- as innocents have their privacy invaded and, as we know, sometimes even revealed to the public for political purposes -- and our safety compromised, since the NSA repeatedly discovers that it had all relevant communications of killers before the killings but does not connect the dots until too late, as in Boston, San Bernardino and Orlando; and the same can be said for our British partners in Manchester and London during the past two weeks.

The stated purpose of all this suspicionless bulk spying on all of us all the time is to keep us safe. Yet we know that the NSA has failed at that, and we know from a recent judicial condemnation of the NSA that it has failed to protect our liberties. Now we know that it has failed to protect our presidential election.

Is it a crime to reveal what the FBI says Winner revealed? In a word, yes. Yet I argue for understanding the full picture here. If she did as the FBI alleges, she committed a violation of federal law. However, it appears she did not do so for petty, political, financial or venal reasons; rather, she may have done so for the American people to know that the spies who have failed us would keep us ignorant and vulnerable.

Can The Intercept be prosecuted for revealing top-secret material to the public? In a word, no. The Supreme Court made clear in the Pentagon Papers case in 1971 that a media entity may freely publish matters that are material to the public interest, notwithstanding the source of the matters or the behavior of the source that delivered the matters to it. This is grounded in the essence of personal liberty in a free society. In matters of material interest to the public, the public's right to know what the government is doing or has failed to do constitutionally trumps the government's right to secrecy.

Where does all this leave us? Reality Winner may very well be a patriot who risked her career and freedom to warn the American public of what the government was afraid to acknowledge -- that mass spying keeps us neither safe nor free. No doubt the government doesn't see it that way. This case has embarrassed the government, and she will most likely be prosecuted. I hope the judge in her case lets her lawyers argue that because we live in perilous times, the people are entitled to know what the government does and fails to do in our names to address the peril so we can change the government when it fails.

The remedy for the revelation of truth should consist in the truth's ability to flourish in the marketplace of ideas rather than in the punishment of person revealing information. The core principle of democracy is that the people have consented to the government. When the government keeps vital secrets from us -- particularly secrets that embarrass it, secrets that cause us to view it differently, secrets of failure -- we end up with a government that we do not know or trust. And one that ultimately lacks our consent.

How can we explain the international community’s indifference to Palestinian suffering? Every day, angry bands of protesters burn the flag of Israel, call for the destruction of the Jewish state and insist that Israel and its Jewish citizens be shunned from polite society and thrown out of the global economy all in the name of opposing “the Occupation.”

Although the breathless protesters insist that all their efforts are directed toward the Palestinians, as it works out, none of their assaults on Israel have improved the Palestinians’ lot. To the contrary, their protests have given a free pass to those that do the most to harm Palestinians.

The angry, hateful protests against Israel tell us nothing about either the history of the Palestinians’ relations with the Jewish state or their present circumstances.

And what are those circumstances? Consider the stories of two different groups of Palestinian prisoners.

The first story relates to the Palestinian terrorists imprisoned in Israeli jails after being tried and convicted of engaging in terrorist attacks against Israel.

Led by terrorist mastermind Marwan Barghouti, who is serving multiple life sentences for killing multiple Israelis, in April more than a thousand jailed terrorists opened a hunger strike demanding an improvement in their prison conditions.

The New York Times published an op-ed by Barghouti and massively covered the strike. Numerous other marquee media organizations similarly provided sympathetic coverage of the event.

Hidden beneath mountains of column inches was the basic fact that the terrorists’ demands made clear that their strike was ridiculous.

They weren’t demanding food. They weren’t demanding fair trials or the right to speak to their attorneys.

They were demanding that Israel add 20 new channels to their standard, free cable television access.

They demanded that Israel let them have telephones in their rooms.

They demanded that Israel buy them air conditioning units.

In other words, they were demanding that Israel treat them better than it treats its own soldiers.

The second prisoner story is the story of the 12,000 Palestinians that have been jailed in Syrian regime prisons since the start of the Syrian civil war. These men, women and children are denied sufficient food and water. They are subjected to torture. Several cases have been reported of Palestinian female prisoners being subjected to gang rapes. More than 500 Palestinians have died in jail. More than 500 Palestinian children are behind bars.

And the plight of the Palestinians on the outside is no better.

Nearly 4,000 Palestinians have been killed by regime forces since the start of the war. Yarmouk refugee camp has been all but depopulated. Whereas before the war began in 2011, more than 120,000 Palestinians resided in the camp just 8 km. from central Damascus, today a mere 20,000 remain. Those who remain have been besieged by regime forces for nearly three years. They have been starved and parched. Running water was cut off years ago.

And yet, the only journalist who has consistently covered the story is Palestinian affairs correspondent Khaled Abu Toameh, writing for the niche website of the Gatestone Institute.

As Abu Toameh noted in a report on the Palestinians in Syria last August, the leaders of the PLO and the Palestinian Authority like their sometimes-rivals- sometimes-partners in Hamas have refused to intervene on their behalf.

To the contrary, the PLO happily reopened its embassy in Damascus last year, despite the fact that it is accredited to a regime that is slaughtering the people that the PLO claims to represent.

Abu Toameh wrote bitterly, “The Palestinians of Syria would have been more fortunate had they been living in the West Bank or Gaza Strip. Then the international community and media would certainly have noticed them. Yet when Western journalists lavish time on Palestinians delayed at Israeli checkpoints in the West Bank, and ignore barrels of explosives dropped by the Syrian military on residential areas in refugee camps in Syria, one might start to wonder what they are really about.”

This week we got reminder of what this is really about from an odd source.

During his interview with NBC’s Megyn Kelly, Russian President Vladimir Putin grew exasperated with Kelly’s repetitious line of questioning about whether or not Russia colluded to get President Donald Trump elected last November.

After repeatedly denying Kelly’s allegations, Putin insisted that the Russian-US elections narrative is simply a conspiracy theory invented by Democrats and their allies to avoid the blame for liar-Hillary Clinton’s defeat.

In Putin’s words, “It’s easy to say, ‘It’s not our fault. It’s the Russians. They intervened. They interfered.’” Putin then compared the anti-Russian conspiracy theory to antisemitism.

“It’s like antisemitism,” Putin explained. Anti-Jewish conspiracy spinners use the Jews as a means to deflect blame for their failures. In his words, “‘The Jews are to blame.’ You’re [not] an idiot. Because ‘the Jews are to blame.’” Putin’s statement is important for two reasons.

First, the former KGB chief knows a thing or two about antisemitic conspiracy theories. Russia has played an outsized role in inventing them for precisely the reason that Putin gave – blame deflection.

It was a precursor of the KGB, the czar’s secret police, that wrote the infamous Protocols of the Elders of Zion which purported to expose a Jewish world conspiracy to control humanity for nefarious ends.

And in 1949, it was the KGB that created the antisemitic conspiracy that has animated and controlled Western discourse on Israel ever since. It was then that the Soviets invented the term “anti-Zionism,” and began referring to Jews as Zionists.

And this brings us to the second noteworthy aspect of Putin’s discussion of antisemitism. The KGB rebranded Jews as “Zionists” and antisemites as “anti-Zionists” to rescue antisemitism as a tool of political warfare from the ruins of Auschwitz.

Until then, it was socially unacceptable to hate Jews.

After the KGB moved to pan Zionism as a form of colonialism and imperialism, it became fashionable again.

What Putin explained in his remarks is that conspiracy theories are not accidental occurrences.

They are deliberate, premeditated acts of political warfare that serve specific political purposes for their creators.

Anti-Zionist conspiracies, like their traditional anti-Jewish antecedents are particularly attractive because Jews are such an easy target.

Their small numbers and the ease with which they can be singled out makes them natural targets of conspiracy mongers.

After all, who will stand up for Israel and the Jews? Jews, of course, have no credibility as defenders of the Jewish state, because, well, they’re Jews.

As for non-Jewish defenders of Israel – they can dismissed as hired guns or religious fanatics or discredited in any number of other ways.

Sadly, while Putin has no compunction about standing up to the anti-Russia conspiracy spinners, with each passing year, the American Jewish community has had more and more difficulty recognizing that they are the target of a conspiracy theory and acting appropriately. Rather than stand up for Israel and against its detractors, more and more American Jews have joined them.

And those who do not join them try to get out from under the conspiracy web by pretending that it is a rational argument, rather than a conspiracy.

Indeed, increasingly, American Jewish organizations make distinctions between Israel and Judea and Samaria. They don’t take their tours beyond the 1949 armistice lines. They say that boycotts of Jewish products made beyond the lines are legitimate.

They try to “dialogue” with anti-Israel activists and blackball Israeli conservatives.

And lo and behold, it doesn’t work.

It doesn’t work because it cannot work. Because the conspiracy mongers are not interested in compromising, they are interested in delegitimizing the very notion that Jews can argue with them.

The toll this has taken on the American Jewish community was clearly in evidence this week at the Israel Day Parade in New York.

15 years ago, some 100,000 area Jews marched in the parade. This year, official counts put the number of marchers at 40,000. A disproportionate number of them were Orthodox.

Fifty years after the Six Day War, Israel has become a hard subject for American Jews to discuss not because it is hard on the merits to defend, but because the conspiracy theories which have taken control of the non-Jewish discourse on Israel have captured the American Jewish discourse as well.

The most pressing duty of the American Jewish community then is to finally recognize the nature of the battle they are beset by and fight it as hard as they can.

The long-suffering Palestinians will no doubt thank them for doing so.
