Pamela Geller, Breitbart: Clear Channel Refuses AFDI Ads Countering ICNA’s Lies with the Truth About Muhammad

As I wrote recently, Muhammad is now the man we all must love — or else. And it is now an established principle in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave: threaten someone with death unless he or she does your bidding, and not only will he or she do your […]

Sweet Islamic money

An international coalition continues to inflict strikes on Islamic State (ISIS) positions, but jihadists are still coming to Syria and Iraq. Governments and the media talk about the fight against terrorism, yet the terrorists are moving freely in their countries — and Georgia is no exception. A few days ago in Tbilisi, gunfire was heard […]

Boston jihadis who wanted to murder Pamela Geller plead not guilty

Pamela Geller asks the key question: “Are we to refrain from doing anything that Muslims don’t like or might anger them?” All too many people in the West would answer yes to that question. “Men accused in terror plot to kill blogger plead not guilty,” WCVB, June 19, 2015 (thanks to Pamela Geller): BOSTON —Two […]

Amir Said Abdul Rahman Al-Ghazi74

Ohio Muslim arrested on terror charges: “We are all Islamic State citizens.”

“We are all Islamic state citizens. This isn’t some gang in the desert you’re fighting. This is WW3 the beginning has just begun,” said Amir Said Abdul Rahman Al-Ghazi. Where did this convert to Islam get this idea? I suppose he was “radicalized on the Internet”? No one would dream of checking into who encouraged […]

Northern Ireland: Pastor who said “Islam is satanic” faces six months in jail

“He said the decision to prosecute him, and not extremist Muslim preachers in Britain, showed that Christians were being ‘persecuted’ by the authorities.” Could it really be possible that Britain’s hate speech laws are being selectively applied, and hateful speech by Muslim clerics ignored? Let’s see: UK: Muslim cleric praises Charlie Hebdo jihad, says UK […]

Islam, and the Proposed Changes to the French Curriculum

How many Americans have followed the brouhaha in France over the Education Minister’s recent proposals to change the curriculum? I would think not many. But  it is instructive what that young, pretty, not very experienced Najat Vallaud-Belkacem has proposed, and the reaction — overwhelming and furious — that her plans received. The Minister of Education […]

Video: Asghar Bukhari triples down: this is your brain on Islamic supremacism

It is now obvious: Asghar Bukhari is quite mad. It might be polite to avert one’s eyes decorously at this point, and let this one pass. After all, this is not his first, and not his second, but his third video insisting that Zionists broke into his house and stole just one of his shoes, […]

UK Muslim leader says Cameron’s call to fight radicalization “unhelpful”

“If the Government is serious about tackling ISIS they really need to take serious steps to tackle rampant Islamophobia – and we are actually recruiting more youths by targeting religion and targeting the people.” How is Britain “targeting the religion and targeting the people”? Through its anti-terror measures. So in other words, British efforts to […]

Robert Spencer in FrontPage: Reign of Terror: Inside the Islamic State

In FrontPage today, I discuss new gruesome details that have emerged of life inside the Islamic State. Turkey’s President Erdoğan joins Qur’an defamation case as plaintiff

Erdoğan “has been harmed by the crime,” said his attorney, Ferah Yıldız. The poor shrinking violet! He should step down as President and retreat to quivering under his desk. This is, of course, flagrant pandering for Islamic supremacist support, which Erdoğan needs more than ever after his recent electoral setback. Will his close friend Obama […]

NEW DOUBTS ON HILLY’S DOCUMENT DESTRUCTION
Fox News: “Dozens of emails handed over to Congress from a longtime Clinton confidant were not part of the trove of emails originally submitted by the State Department, Fox News has learned -- raising questions over why those emails were apparently withheld.  One source told Fox News the newly submitted emails from Sidney Blumenthal show a ‘significant gap’ in the record. Blumenthal was scheduled to testify in closed session Tuesday to the House panel probing the Benghazi attacks about frequent emails on Libya he sent to Hilly Clinton when she served as secretary of state. Blumenthal worked in the White House under President Clinton and is a longtime friend and adviser to the Clinton family.”
NYT: “The committee has asked the State Department and Mrs. Clinton several times in the past year for emails from her and other department officials about ‘weapons located or found in’ Libya and about the decision to open and maintain a diplomatic mission in Benghazi….  It is not clear whether the State Department possesses the emails between Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Blumenthal and did not hand them over. It is also possible that Mrs. Clinton never provided them to the department and deleted them off the server that housed the personal account she used exclusively when she was secretary of state.”  -Fox News

Clintons soaked small charities-  The Clinton Foundation has raked in $11M in payments from small non-profit groups for speeches by Hilly, Bill and Chelsea, Politico reports. “When Condoleezza Rice headlined a 2009 fundraising luncheon for the Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach, she collected a $60,000 speaking fee, then donated almost all of it back to the club ... Hilly Clinton was not so generous to the small charity ... Clinton collected $200,000 to speak at the same event five years later, but she donated nothing back to the club ... Instead, Clinton steered her speaking fee to her family's own ... charity.”   -Fox News

Oh, Hill no: Campaign fights with press over coverage -  Fox News“The simmering dispute over media access to Hilly Clinton’s presidential campaign erupted again Monday when a reporter for DailyMail.com was told by the campaign he couldn’t attend her events in New Hampshire. David Martosko, a reporter for DailyMail.com, a website affiliated with the Daily Mail in London, said the Clinton camp said his newspaper wasn’t part of the official group -- known as the print pool -- that covers the White House on a rotating basis. As a result, he was blocked Monday from covering her events in person for the pool…. The campaign said it is trying to resolve the issue. However, it denied any suggestion that Martosko was denied access because of his newspaper’s critical coverage of Clinton….Major media organizations in Clinton’s traveling press pool issued a statement Monday night defending Martosko and rejecting any attempt by the Clinton campaign to “dictate” who covers the candidate.
“…[T]his is just one thing that she doesn’t get to control.  She wants press covering her.  That whole goal for politicians is to have the people covering them.  And then we the press get this idea, but one of them is, who is going to go in there and represent us.  And now the campaign, first they came out and they said, well, you’re foreign press.  And you responded by saying, there’s lots of foreign press and they’ve acted as pool before.” -- David Martosko, U.S. political editor for the Daily Mail on “The Kelly File”

Dems beat war drums on trade -  President nObama’s defenders dished back to Hilly Clinton a day after the candidate told the president he “should listen to and work with his allies in Congress who rejected his bid for trade authority and if he can’t get a better deal, “there should be no deal." In a remarkably timely CNN article on Clinton’s waffling and how she wants to “take the lemons and turn it into lemonade," Jake Tapper writes, “ But as members of the nObama administration can attest, Clinton was one of the leading drivers of the TPP when Secretary of State. Here are 45 instances when she approvingly invoked the trade bill about which she is now expressing concerns.”
“[S]he called the TPP, she said it was going to be the gold standard for trade agreements, so this is very, very freighted for her. This is difficult terrain to navigate because she owned this to some degree and now she has to try navigate through it. So it's going to be challenging for her. – former nObama adviser David Axelrod on MSNBC.

nObama Admin ‘Cheered’ Private Scolding of Israeli Ambassador
(Adam Kredo) ~ nObama administration staffers listened in on and “cheered” the private scolding of a former Israeli ambassador by senior a State Department official, according to new disclosures by that ambassador, Michael Oren... The incident took place in 2010, when the nObama administration stoked tensions with Israel over its decision to continue building homes in Jerusalem neighborhoods, according to Oren, who recounts the episode in his new memoir, Ally: My Journey Across the American-Israeli Divide. At the time, the nObama administration was upset Israel had announced the construction of 1,600 new homes for Jewish people in neighborhoods in East Jerusalem. The announcement coincided with a trip to Israel by Vice President loose lips Joe Biden. Keep on building Israel. backstabber RINO Boehner
nObama's trade agenda might still be doomed
(Timothy B. Lee) ~ However, it remains far from certain whether TPA will become law. The Senate has also passed a TPA bill, but that bill came with an extension of Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA), programs that help workers who lose their jobs due to international competition... For TPA to become law, congressional leaders need to either get the House to pass TAA or get the Senate to pass a TPA bill that doesn't include TAA. The problem is that neither option looks likely to happen. The inclusion of TAA was essential to getting a critical mass of Democrats to support the Senate trade package. But in the House, majorities of both parties oppose the legislation — albeit for opposite reasons. Most Republicans oppose TAA itself, whereas most Democrats voted against TAA as a way to kill the broader trade package.       http://www.vox.com/2015/6/18/8806413/the-house-just-passed-a-trade-bill-but-obamas-trade-agenda-might

Joyce Mitchell Freed Two Murderers, nObama Regime Over 100
(rickwells.us) ~ It’s a double standard that the regime won’t even begin to attempt to explain. Joyce Mitchell is under arrest and facing serious jail time for releasing two American murderers... while at the same time the policy of the nObama regime is to release dangerous illegal alien criminals, including murderers, routinely. Lt Col Allen West points to a continuing lack of accountability, noting that nobody has been held responsible for the death of Agent Brian Terry in Eric Holder’s Fast and Furiousgun running scheme. He also points to the 96% failure rate of TSA and asks why it is being virtually ignored.        http://rickwells.us/joyce-mitchell-freed-two-murderers-obama-regime-over-100-allen-west-on-accountability/

Stephanie Rawlings-Blake
Baltimore Mayor Teams Up With Muslim Terror-Linked Group
(gopthedailydose.com) ~ Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has reportedly teamed up with the terror-linked Islamic Relief USA organization in a bid to populate her city with immigrants and refugees from terrorist-overrun nations like Syria... During her inauguration in December of 2011, Rawlings-Blake announced intentions to grow the city by 10,000 families, and apparently, she planned all along to do so by importing thousands of Muslim families into her community. The problem is that Muslim immigrants from terror-dominated nations tend to struggle with assimilation. Thus they often wind up dependent on the government for welfare benefits like food stamps and housing assistance.       http://gopthedailydose.com/2015/06/18/urgent-baltimore-mayor-teams-up-with-muslim-terror-linked-group-for-shocking-purpose/

Hilly Clinton
Hilly Quick To Exploit Church Shooting With Racist, Anti-Gun
(rickwells.us) ~ If the Democrats had asked for an incident that fit into their political playbook they couldn’t have gotten anything more tailor-made for their agenda and talking points than the South Carolina church shooting... What a lucky political break for them it was that the message of white aggression against innocent black people took this “unexpected” turn. After Hussein nObama was first to jump on the anti-guns and racism bandwagon that was pulling away on the street in front of the AME church in Charleston, it was Hilly Clinton’s turn to make political hay out of a tragedy. Ambulance and hearse chasing is never inappropriate for a pandering politician, and letting a perfectly good crisis go to waste is never acceptable. She “sincerely” delivers someone else’s words, describing how “the shock and pain of this crime of hate strikes deep,” noting that nine people, women and men, were cut down at prayer. We can imagine that those in Benghazi were engaged in quite a bit of prayer of their own when they too were cut down, Ms Clinton, but she doesn’t talk about that. There is literally no future in it for her.       http://rickwells.us/hillary-clinton-quick-to-exploit-church-shooting-with-racist-anti-gun-opportunism/

 Shaking Hands with Iran
(Daniel Mael) ~ As negotiations between the P5+1 countries and Iran continue, human rights concerns under the Iranian regime remain on the periphery... The nObama Administration, over the objections of countless human rights organizations, has made clear that the United States is not seeking to alter the nature of the Iranian regime. Rather, the aim of the direct negotiations is solely to reach an agreeable compromise over the Iran's continued nuclear enrichment. The current nominal deadline for negotiations is June 30. The Islamic Republic of Iran is notoriously the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism. Proxy organizations include Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in the Gaza Strip and Houthi rebels in Yemen. The regime's support of barbarism is reflected within Iran as well, as Iranian leaders support unspeakable human rights abuses on a daily basis.      http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/6000/shaking-hands-with-iran

A Shiite militia in Iraq
'Iran Supporting More than 100 Shiite Terror Groups'
(clarionproject.org) ~ A recent report in Al Hayat, one of the largest and most-respected pan-Arab dailies, charges that Iran is supporting more than 100 Shiite extremist organizations and militias in Syria and Iraq... The newspaper, which is published in London and funded by Saudi Arabia, says the crimes of these groups are no less horrific than those of the Islamic State. In Iraq, the Iranian-funded armed militias comprised of Persians have capabilities far beyond those of the Iraqi security forces. The paper quotes academics who commented that the purpose of these militias is to target the Arabs in Iraq, both Sunni and Shiite.       http://www.clarionproject.org/news/iran-supporting-more-100-shiite-terror-groups-report

State Dept Memo: 'Our Narrative is Being Trumped by ISIL's'
(clarionproject.org) ~ An internal U.S. State Department memo, published by The New York Times, has revealed that the U.S. believes the Islamic State is winning the war of ideas and narrative... The memo, written by the under secretary for public diplomacy and public affairs Richard Stengal, criticizes the coalition of countries aligned against the Islamic State for failing to provide a coherent and unified message to counter that of the terror group. The memo reads, “the coalition does not communicate well internally or externally.” It says that the “messaging working group” of the U.S., the U.K. and the U.A.E “has not really come together.” The memo criticizes far more harshly the external message. “When it comes to the external message, our narrative is being trumped by ISIL’s," it states. J. Todd Rutherford
SC State Legislator Blames Church Massacre on Fox News
(Jeff Dunetz) ~ According to J.Todd Rutherford Democratic member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, the horrible man who massacred nine people in a church last night Dylann Roof is not guilty of a crime... Rutherford appeared on "The Lead" with Jake Tapper Thursday afternoon and blamed the shooting on the fact that South Carolina flies the confederate flag by its state house, does not have a hate crimes law, and of course the "coded language" broadcast on Fox News. If one is to follow Rutherford's argument than the psycho who shot up the church should be immediately released, after all it wasn't his fault the blame should be placed on Roger Ailes. This reluctance to place personal responsibility on the people who commit crimes is one of the reasons we have shootings like what happens in Charleston.  The shooting had nothing to do with Fox News and everything to do with the maniac who did the horrible act. Rutherford needs to get a brain and common sense.       http://yidwithlid.blogspot.com/2015/06/south-carolina-state-legislator-blames.html?utm_source=The+Lid+List&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2b6d7129c8-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_term=0_597b72c01c-2b6d7129c8-291705165&goal=0_597b72c01c-2b6d7129c8-291705165

nObamaCare:  It’s Still Not Finished. Your Money & Personal at Risk
(Michael Becker) ~ The most tech savvy administration ever strikes again. Everybody just knew that Barack nObama was a tech hero because he carried a Blackberry around... Turns out it takes a little more than that to be a tech wizard. OK, it takes a lot more. You’d think the nObamaCare roll out would have been the clue, but the left isn’t that bright. Latest on the tech front, the Chinese hacked into the Federal Office of Personnel Management database and surfed around in there for at least year. If you’re a federal employee, and maybe a member of the military or a veteran, the Chinese know more about you than your spouse does. A lot more. And, it turns out that all of your nObamaCare information – your medical histories and all that stuff – is open to any enterprising hacker. We’re shocked.       http://wizbangblog.com/2015/06/18/remember-the-obamacare-website-its-still-not-finished-your-money-personal-info-are-at-risk/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Wizbang+%28Wizban

(jewishworldreview.com) ~ The toxic mix of sports and politics, especially when it came to the treatment of Israel, soured me on the Olympics a long time ago. But even in professional sports where teams are often composed of athletes from around the globe there is no immunity to the virus of hate. While the success of the National Basketball Association's Cleveland Cavalier’s first-year coach David Blatt has been cheered by Israelis, supporters of efforts to deprive that nation of its right to self-defense have a different take. Those who can't stand the idea of a proud and patriotic Jew being willing to associate himself with his adopted country are bombarding Blatt with abuse because he served his country and is reportedly on speaking terms with Israel's prime minister. When you consider that NBA players have over the years represented a variety of nations, not all of which everyone loves, without being subjected to political litmus tests, the decision of The Nation to launch a full-scale attack on Blatt for embracing Israeli identity is outrageous. In doing so, the left-wing magazine is demonstrating that the line that supposedly divides anti-Zionism from anti-Semitism is a myth.
.
Ironically, the New York Times, whose sports pages have often been used by its editors to pursue political causes (the paper bore a great deal of the responsibility for promoting a false and racially-tinged narrative about a rape hoax that led to the Duke Lacrosse team being temporarily disbanded) treated the story about the differing paths to the NBA finals taken by the two coaches both fairly and honestly. The connection between Blatt and Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr is that both have ties to the Middle East. Kerr's father Malcolm was president of the American University of Beirut before he was kidnapped and murdered by the Islamic Jihad terror group. Kerr, who speaks Arabic, was born in Lebanon and lived in the Middle East with his family before going back to the United States to play both college and professional basketball. He wanted to hire Blatt as his assistant before the man who led Maccabi Tel Aviv to championships was lured to Cleveland. The juxtaposition of their connections to the region and their nearly being on the same side makes for an interesting sports story.
.
But The Nation's Dave Zirin considers their backgrounds an excuse for a rehearsal of the left's vicious slanders against Israel and its government. In his reading, Malcolm Kerr is a hero who is rightly honored by the Middle East Studies Association, a blatantly biased academic group that promotes boycotts against both Israel and Israelis. On the other, he considers Blatt reprehensible because he is a Zionist who believes in the right of the Jews to their own country and served in the Israeli Army defending it against Arab terrorists. Even worse in his eyes is that Blatt is reportedly on a first-name basis with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom The Nation blasts as a racist.
.
Let's leave aside the distortions about Netanyahu as well as the foolishness involved in blaming a celebrity for saying that he knows his country's leader. Zirin's real beef with Blatt isn't the Bibi connection; it's for being a Zionist and saying this about last summer's war with Hamas terrorists:
.
"In my opinion, this war is Israel's most justified war I can remember in recent years. I'm really sorry about what's happening in Gaza, but there's no doubt that we had to act there, so that Israel will have quiet there once and for all."
.
Blatt was right, but for Zirin this is outrageous because of the number of Palestinian civilian casualties who were being used as human shields by Hamas terrorists. Zirin forgets to include in his account of the fighting the fact that Hamas and its Islamic Jihad allies launched several thousand rockets at Israeli cities and towns and used tunnels dug under the border to facilitate attempts to kidnap and kill Jews.
.
He contrasts Blatt's Israeli patriotism and belief in his country's people to live without being subjected to constant, deadly terrorism to some quotes from Steve Kerr in which he rightly says not all Arabs or Muslims should be blamed for terrorism before making some less defensible comments about Americans needing to ask why the terrorists hate us.
.
Kerr grew up in an atmosphere in which such views were mainstream and though I find them worrisome, like almost all sports fans, I'm not any more interested in his politics than I am in Blatt's affiliations. Both should be seen as sports figures, not politicians, and accordingly cheered or jeered on the work of their teams on the court and nothing else.
.
But, of course, that spirit of fair competition is of no interest to sports columnists like Zirin who, in the grand tradition of Marxist journalism, uses athletics as an excuse to ride political hobbyhorses. But in the case of Blatt and his unabashed Zionism, Zirin goes farther than merely putting a political slant on a feel-good story of an American who found coaching success abroad before coming home to triumph in the NBA. For left-wing anti-Zionists, Blatt needs to be singled out for opprobrium in a way that no other coach or player from a foreign country has ever been because of what he sees as the unique villainy of Israel. No player from China who had his picture taken with his country's tyrants has gotten this kind of treatment. Nor has any other NBA player. Only a Jew who says the Jews deserve a country and ought not to be slaughtered by terrorists must be smeared.
.
Whatever his sympathies in the Middle East conflict might be, Kerr understands the cost of terrorism on a personal basis. So do all too many Israelis who have suffered as he did as a result of attacks by Islamic Jihad and other Islamist and Palestinian groups. The death of Malcolm Kerr ought to be held as an example of what happens when groups like Hamas are granted impunity by their foreign cheerleaders like Dave Zinn. But what Zirin, who cannot use his Jewish origin as a defense, is doing is judging Israelis and Jews by a different standard than any other people. Though he may admit to anti-Zionism, the more accurate term for his brand of bias is anti-Semitism.

121 Illegal Immigrants Released by ICE Became Murderers
Regardless of how Democrat sympathizers see it, illegally crossing the U.S. border is a crime, but that's not preventing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from letting unauthorized immigrants back onto the streets — including some who went on to become murderers. According to The Washington Times, "More than 100 immigrants whom the nObama administration released back into the community went on to be charged with subsequent killings, according to government data released Monday that raises more questions about whether immigration authorities are doing enough to detail illegal immigrants awaiting deportation. ... All told, 121 immigrants who were held but eventually released by ICE went on to commit 'homicide-related offenses' from 2010 through 2014, the agency said." Those are onlyknown offenders, though, meaning the actual figure is probably even more alarming. ICE said in a statement, "When making custody determinations, ICE performs an individualized review of the individual's immigration history and criminal history, pursuant to the Immigration and Naturalization Act (INA). In accordance with the requirements of the INA, not all criminals are subject to mandatory detention and thus may be eligible for bond." And, thus, eligible to take other people's lives. America's lax immigration policies aren't just ridiculous; they're proving to be deadly. More...  -The Patriot Post

ATF Teams Up With NYPD to Deter 'Gun Crimes'
In what CBS New York describes as the "first-ever anti-gun initiative," federal agencies in collaboration with the NYPD are cracking down on escalating "gun crime" across the City of New York. ATF agent Charles Mulham said, "There's going to be an increase in federal arrests — no doubt." He added, "Of course, when the ATF gets involved ... we'll be able to figure out if [any] weapon is part of an interstate trafficking operation." That's a bold statement coming from an agency that intentionally put weapons into the hands of Mexican drug cartels. And considering New York boasts lower than average crime rates, why aren't they asking why violent behavior is increasing instead of positing this as an "anti-gun" initiative? For the same reason the question is being avoided in cities like Ferguson and Baltimore. As Mark Alexander has pointed out, blaming weapons serves an agenda: "The 'gun violence' rhetoric comports with the errant Leftist assertion that guns are the problem and the Democrats' next gun control measure is the solution. Most assuredly, the epidemic of crime in American urban centers is not a 'gun problem,' but rather a cultural problem." Getting the federal government involved in New York, ostensibly to ward off potential offenders, won't get us any closer to tackling the core problem — especially via an agency embroiled in its own questionable behavior. More...  -The Patriot Post

Killing Al-Qaida Terrorists Is Good, But...
The nObama administration continues to play whack-a-mole with terrorists in the Middle East, using American aircraft as the gavel. Over the weekend, al-Qaida in Yemen confirmed that its number two leader, Nasir al-Wahishi, was killed in a U.S. airstrike. This is the biggest blow against the terrorist group since SEAL Team Six drilled Osama bin Laden in his Abbottabad compound. Meanwhile, U.S. planes dropped 500 lb. munitions in Libya, possibly killing Mokhtar Belmokhtar, "the one-eyed sheik" who split from al-Qaida to form his own terrorist outfit. The implications are that we have some decent intelligence. The strikes are good news, but it's not a game changer but rather a place-holder by the administration, which has no coherent or comprehensive policy in the region. nObama's objective is to pass this buck to the next administration. For that reason, GOP candidates better get the history of OIF and OEF right, because, if the next president is a Republican, he is going to have to implement a policy to contain and diminish this metastasizing threat.   -The Patriot Post

Rubio calls out nObama, sideswipes Rand -  Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., in a Time magazine op-ed writes about the dangers of President nObama’s foreign policy agenda, specifically allowing the Patriot Act’s data collection to expire. But his fellow Republicans get a dose too: “Unfortunately, misinformation, fear-mongering and the allure of campaign fundraising all contributed to [the Patriot Act’s data collection] expiration, its explicit prohibition in the future, and its replacement with a weaker and untested system that fails to require phone companies to maintain records that we may one day need to track terrorists. Rather than use what power remains in his bully pulpit, President nObama opted to be a bystander and let this program be killed…As a result, the American people are now less safe.”  -Fox News

Benghazi committee meant to hide the truth?
(Judge Andrew Napolitano) ~ What if President nObama secretly agreed with others in the government in 2011 to provide arms to rebels in Libya and Syria?... What if the scheme called for American arms merchants to sell serious American military hardware to the government of Qatar, which would and did transfer it to rebel groups? What if the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of the Treasury approved those sales? What if the approvals were kept secret because some of those rebel groups were characterized by the same Departments of State and Treasury as terrorist organizations? What if the ultimate recipients of those arms were the militants and monsters in al-Qaida and ISIS who have slain and tortured innocents?       http://www.wnd.com/2015/06/benghazi-committee-meant-to-hide-the-truth/

Pope slammed as 'scary,' 'out there' on genuine faith
(Joe Kovacs) ~ Radio host Rush Limbaugh says Pope Francis is “scary” and “a little out there” in his call to demonstrate “genuine faith” by opening their wallets even more to the poor... “A man of religion, the vicar of Christ, seems to have fallen in with the communist way of doing things,” Limbaugh said on his national broadcast Wednesday, “controlling mankind through command-and-control governments backed by police or military power. This is what the pope is essentially calling for. The problem is, human beings suffer under collectivist or communist regimes. They do not prosper. That’s the history of the world. The history of humanity is tyranny, and the people who live in tyranny do not prosper, by definition.”   http://www.wnd.com/2015/06/limbaugh-pope-scary-out-there-on-genuine-faith/

Republicans move to save nObamacare Subsidies
(breitbart.com) ~ Congressional Republicans will move to temporarily continue health care subsidies for millions of people if the Supreme Court overturns the aid, according to plans discussed in the House and Senate Wednesday... Republicans on both sides of the Capitol met privately to discuss how to respond to the politically explosive ruling that’s expected in the next two weeks and could result in some 7 million people losing subsidies to buy coverage under President Barack nObama’s contested health care law. Under the plan presented by a quartet of committee chairman to House Republicans and described by several lawmakers, subsidies would continue for the remainder of this calendar year. After that, states could obtain block grants to continue the aid; if a state turns down the block grant, individuals could receive tax subsidies directly as they do now.       http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/06/17/republicans-move-to-save-obamacare-subsidies-if-supreme-court-eliminates-them/?utm_source=Liberty_Headlines_Is_Giving_Your_Site_Free_Traffic_for_Now&AID=7236

Clinton Emails An Open Book To Foreign Intelligence Services
(rickwells.us) ~ Katherine Herridge reports that not only was the email traffic between Hilly Clinton and Sydney Blumenthal not vetted, and largely providing what was subjective information... but they also included sensitive information relating to international negotiations and events. The security of those transmissions is a point of ongoing contention. Clinton said in her original UN hallway address regarding the issue, “I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email.” She didn’t say she didn’t receive any or that other sensitive information which was not marked specifically with the words “classified” was not emailed. Word-parsing is one preferred method for criminals to imply they are being forthright as they obfuscate and deny the truth. Katherine Herridge noted that the emails dealt with a military operation as well as administration strategy. She said, “Current and foreign government officials say that is the most valuable information a foreign intelligence service could steal.”        http://rickwells.us/clinton-emails-an-open-book-to-foreign-intelligence-services-classified-claims-distorted/

Illegal Amnesty Agitator Demands nObama Enforce The Law - but...
(rickwells.us) ~ The irony is rich as anarchist union agitator Salvador Salmiento speaks in front of DHS headquarters and calls upon those inside, naming the outlaw management teamindividually, to enforce the law... He says, “On behalf of the National Day Laborer Organizing Networks and folks across the country, we’re here to say that we’ve waited long enough,” and then calls the roll of those who need to be following the law. That would be a great thing if these outlaws would begin to do that, but their job is to circumvent and nullify law, not enforce it. As it turns out, Salmiento doesn’t really want our nation’s laws enforced any more than the criminals within the nObama regime do.        http://rickwells.us/illegal-amnesty-agitator-demands-obama-enforce-the-law-but-not-those-real-laws/

Charlie Daniels Tell President nObama and it’s EPIC ...

UAE Port Agreement: More Clinton Pay for Play?
(Roger Aronoff) ~ Accuracy in Media often asks whether the news media would have covered a story the same way under President George W. Bush as it does under President Barack nObama...  The lease provided to Gulftainer USA, a subsidiary of a United Arab Emirates (UAE) conglomerate called Crescent Enterprises, at the vital national security hub of Port Canaveral, Florida, once again confirms the media double standard. Is this more Clinton shenanigans and conflict of interest? What was nObama’s role, and why are the media ignoring this story? While in 2006 a multiple port purchase with links to a government with ties to terrorists incited controversy and outrage among the media and in Washington, a UAE terminal lease starting this month has been met with a virtual media blackout.

 Counting on Vote Fraud
(Kenneth Blackwell) ~When two of the nation’s most prominent liberals claim that a political phenomenon does not exist, you know you’ve hit a sore spot... Last week, in a major campaign speech at Texas Southern University, Hilly Clinton dismissed the “phantom epidemic of election fraud.” A couple of days ago, blogger Markos Moulitsas, founder of the Daily Kos website, dismissed voter fraud as a “lie” and a “myth.” “The lady doth protest too much, methinks,” as Shakespeare put it.  The Fix Is In – nObamatrade Charade Continues As Planned
(rickwells.us) ~ The fix is in, it’s show time. The House and Senate gyrations to force the appearance of a minimally representative government are in full swing... The corporate fascists in control of this country want total power and they are wresting it away from the American people at this very moment. Our liberty is being stolen by the moneyed interests through corrupt mongrel politicians such as Mitch McCon-nell, backstabber John Boehner and Paul Ryan. They have walked the American people to the slave auction stage, forced us to our knees, and the bidding has begun. It’s beyond insulting to credit the Congressional contortions back and forth as being anything other than what they are; a charade to project legitimacy onto an illegitimate, orchestrated event, the outcome of which has already been pre-determined. backstabber Boehner and his sleaze brigade forced TPA through on Thursday over the wishes of the American people where it was approved 218-208. It now returns to the original scene of the crime, the Senate, in the newly reconfigured form of two separate bills.       http://rickwells.us/the-fix-is-in-the-theatrical-presentation-obamatrade-charade-continues-as-planned/

Loonies: Muslim terrorists can now sue top US Government officials
(themuslimissue.wordpress.com) ~ Arabs and Muslims detained in the wake of the 9/11 attacks can sue top officials in George Bush’s administration for civil rights abuses, a court has ruled... The landmark ruling from three Court of Appeals judges on Wednesday came after a collection of former inmates claimed they were illegally singled out for 23-hour-a-day solitary confinement, strip searches, sleep deprivation and other abuses. It follows 10 years of litigation, and will likely ramp up scrutiny on the government’s national security forces. But the ruling has been slammed by another Circuit Judge, Reena Raggi, who claims there is no precedent and the outcome could affect the security of the nation.        https://themuslimissue.wordpress.com/2015/06/18/loonies-muslim-terrorists-can-now-sue-top-us-government-officials-for-being-detained-court-rules/

(freedomsback.com) ~ Constitutional conservatives don’t like it. Trade unions abhor it. nObama critics hate it. Environmentalists despise it.
.
Outside the Beltway bubble, a broad coalition of voters from the left, right and center opposes the mega-trade deal getting rammed through Congress this week by the Republican establishment on behalf of the White House. Here’s why.
.
The nObama administration, House GOP leader backstabber John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McCon-nell have sold out American sovereignty. Their so-called Trans-Pacific Partnership Commission will have sweeping authority over trade, immigration, environmental, labor and commerce regulations.
.
As alert watchdogs U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., chairman of the Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest and U.S. Rep Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., warn: “By adopting fast-track, Congress would be formally authorizing the President to finalize the creation of this Pacific Union and will have surrendered its legislative prerogatives. Before a word, line, paragraph, or page of this plan is made public, Congress will have agreed to give up its treaty powers. … In effect, one of the most sweeping international agreements seen in years will be given less legislative scrutiny and process than a Post Office reform bill.”
.
The nObama administration, House GOP leader backstabber John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McCon-nell have sold out legislative transparency. backstabber Boehner smugly asserts that so-called Trade Promotion Authority puts Congress in charge and promotes “more openness” on trade talks. Nonsense. Under the backstabber Boehner/nObama plan, Congress gives up its ability to amend any trade deals under fast track, severely limits the ability to debate and lowers the vote threshold in the Senate from 61 to 51. The 11 international parties negotiating with nObama on TPP refuse to sign their dotted lines until Congress agrees to pre-agree to behemoth global trade pacts — sight unseen.
.
As nObamatrade cheerleader and Big Business crony Sen. Orrin Hack, I mean Hatch, admitted, “I don’t know fully what’s in TPP myself.”
.
The secretive wheeling and dealing on the massive 29-chapter draft (kept under classified lock-and-key and only a tiny portion of which have been publicly disclosed through WikiLeaks) make the backroom nObamacare negotiations look like a gigantic solar flare of openness and public deliberation. Fast-track Republicans, who rightfully made a stink when Nancy Pulosi declared that “we have to pass the nObamacare bill so that you can find out what is in it,” now have no transparency legs to stand on.
.
The nObama administration, House GOP leader backstabber John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McCon-nell have sold out our immigration priorities. Both parties have put cheap labor from illegal immigrants before American workers. Both parties support massive increases in foreign temporary worker programs that favor cheap tech workers from India and China over highly educated, highly skilled American workers who are forced to train their replacements. Both parties back fraud-plagued green card giveaway programs for wealthy immigrant investors that amount to a crony “economic development” racket. More nObamatrade documents disclosed by WikiLeaks indicate that negotiators have discussed unilateral changes to U.S. worker protections in visa law, processing times and temporary visa expiration dates.
.
Supporting free enterprise in America does not mean supporting a global free-for-all for every last $2.00/hour entry-level foreign tech journeyman. Past free-trade pacts have failed to live up to their overhyped promises. University of Maryland economist Peter Morici notes that under nObama’s free trade pact with South Korea, imports with that country “are up 3.6 billion” while “U.S. exports are down marginally and the U.S. trade deficit with the Asian nation has swelled to 5 billion.”
.
Meanwhile, he reports, our wage-suppressing $350 billion bilateral trade deficit with China “costs American workers at least 3 million jobs” and several Asian countries now negotiating TPP “have violated WTO and International Monetary Fund rules by purposefully undervaluing their currencies to subsidize exports and raise prices for otherwise competitive U.S. products in their markets.”
.
Here is what those of us against the GOP-nObamatrade bills can all agree on: Both political parties in Washington are screwing over our country. American citizens are sick and tired of the permanent ruling class subverting the will of the people in the name of “bipartisanship.” We’ve had enough of Big Business betrayals and Big Government collusion.

Maybe It’s Not a ‘Gun Problem’

It took Barack Obama just 12 hours to classify the senseless killings in Charleston as a “gun problem,” exploiting the blood of innocents as political fodder to advance his gun control agenda. In a press conference Thursday, Obama asserted, “At some point, we as a country will have to reckon with the fact that this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries.” Unless you count all the “mass violence … in other advanced countries” like the recent Charlie Hebdo attack in France, where eleven were murdered. Oh wait, the Paris hate crime was perpetrated by Islamists — Obama doesn’t count those (see Ft. Hood attack). But it was a nice sound bite. Moreover, other countries have not deliberately institutionalized urban poverty plantations, which have become mass breeding grounds for such violence. That is the inconvenient truth Obama will never mention. Alveda King, NAACP member, Christian civil rights activist and niece of civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr., acutely observes, “To politicize this by calling for gun control — we already know that gun control is not going to stop the violence. Only a change of heart is going to do that.”

GOP Must Decide ObamaCare Policy Before SCOTUS Rules

The Supreme Court could issue a ruling as early as Monday in King v. Burwell, the case regarding whether the federal government overstepped its authority in paying out subsidies to those purchasing health insurance on the federal ObamaCare exchange. The GOP has been preparing for this moment for awhile now. If the Court strikes down the subsidies, a legislative fix will be needed, and proposals have been coming in from all sides of the conservative spectrum. Sen. Ron Johnson proposed extending the subsidies to 2017, as a Republican administration may occupy the White House then. The Heritage Foundation suggested repealing the subsidies. And Rep. Paul Gosar unveiled his Premium Reduction and Insurance Market Reform Act, a bill that would end subsidies and also end regulations like the age rating restriction. Now it is up to the Republican leadership in Congress to plot a policy and strategy to enact a conservative reform to ObamaCare. Chief Executive for Heritage Action for America Michael Needham said, “A continuation of illegal subsidies will simply cover up the law’s costs while giving the impression Republicans believe subsidies are necessary for Americans to afford health insurance.” But that option is tempting GOP leadership, as Barack Obama and the Left will make a King v. Burwell fallout politically fraught.

Texas to Take Back $1 Billion in Gold From the Fed

Texas no longer trusts our nation’s central bank to safely store its gold in New York City. For years, the Lone Star State has kept its $1 billion in gold in the hands of the Federal Reserve Bank, which has safeguarded the bullion of the U.S. government, foreign governments and other major organizations. But now, the state is setting up its own bullion depository and will soon withdraw its gold from Fed control. “Today I signed HB 483 to provide a secure facility for the State of Texas, state agencies and Texas citizens to store gold bullion and other precious metals,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said in a statement June 12. “With the passage of this bill, the Texas Bullion Depository will become the first state-level facility of its kind in the nation, increasing the security and stability of our gold reserves and keeping taxpayer funds from leaving Texas to pay for fees to store gold in facilities outside our state.” The move could be as simple as Texas stepping up and taking responsibility for its own assets, as well as providing a place for Texas citizens to store gold. Or, as CBS notes, it could be a step toward establishing a currency if Texas were to secede from the union. Regardless, it’s a Texas two-step toward greater autonomy.

FATHER’S DAY

Sunday is Father’s Day, a fitting day to consider four contexts for “father” — God the Father, our own earthly fathers, the role of men as father to their children, and the legacy of our forefathers. They combine to create a rich and abiding sense of what fatherhood means, as well as what it should look and feel like in heart and practice.

But for tens of millions of Americans from broken homes, the consequences of failed fatherhood are the enormous obstacles their children must endeavor to overcome in relationships with their Creator, with their own spouses and children, and in their ability to honor their forefathers' legacy.

Patriot fathers, if you want to extend the Legacy of Liberty to the next generation, there is no better place to start than in your own home.

In the words of the Father of our Nation, George Washington, “May the father of all mercies scatter light, and not darkness, upon our paths, and make us in all our several vocations useful here, and in His own due time and way everlastingly happy.” (1790)

The Pope’s Encyclical Isn’t That Revolutionary

By Lewis Morris

2015-06-19-2a23ca38_large.jpg

Pope Francis released his much-discussed 184-page papal encyclical on climate change Thursday and the Leftmedia have already distilled the message down to a one sentence quote: “The earth, our home, is beginning to look more and more like an immense pile of filth.”

Liberals embrace the Pope, or any aspect of religion in general for that matter, when it suits them. The rhetoric surrounding this encyclical is no different.

An encyclical, for those of us who are not Catholic, is an open letter written by a pope. They are not considered infallible. Think of it as an opinion piece written by the pope.

The document, entitled “Laudato Si” (Praise Be to You), states, “Climate change is a global problem with grave implications: environmental, social, economic, political and for the distribution of goods. It represents one of the principal challenges facing humanity in our day.”

Francis blames the problem on consumerism, corporate greed, overreliance on technology and the poisonous political atmosphere in and among many nations. He called for a radial change in how people conduct their political and economic affairs and suggested that the time has come for each of us to alter our individual lifestyles in response to climate issues.

The encyclical was leaked earlier this week by the Italian magazine L'Espresso, which set off half-baked opinions and speculation about what the document was going to say, with liberals pre-embracing Francis' message and conservatives expressing concern about the injection of the Vatican into a debate that is far from settled, despite what environmentalists would have us believe.

It is interesting how liberals, who have always rejected religion in favor of worship of the state, have embraced Francis since his ascension in Rome. Francis, who comes from Argentina, is the first pope from the developing world, and, coming from a poor nation as he does, his worldview is shaped accordingly. He has frequently spoken on issues of poverty and inequality, often excoriating capitalism and calling on Western democracies to do more for the world’s poor.

This message of taking from the rich and giving to the poor combined with his latest writings on climate change fall right into line with the liberal narrative, and they have fallen over themselves to praise the pope’s latest message.

Of course, the liberal media has been quite selective in its adoration for Francis, choosing to promote his words that match their ideology, but somehow failing to report on other parts of the pope’s message that don’t swing with the liberal dogma.

Here are a few excerpts from “Laudato Si” that are unlikely to make the front page of the major daily newspapers:

  • “A spirituality which forgets God as all-powerful and Creator is not acceptable.”
  • “When media and the digital world become omnipresent, their influence can stop people from learning how to live wisely, to think deeply and to love generously.”
  • “Concern for the protection of nature is also incompatible with the justification of abortion … It is troubling that, when some ecological movements defend the integrity of the environment, rightly demanding that certain limits be imposed on scientific research, they sometimes fail to apply those same principles to human life.”
  • “Helping the poor financially must always be a provisional solution in the face of pressing needs. The broader objective should always be to allow them a dignified life through work.”

While the document does reveal a more considered and practical view of the Catholic Church’s stand on environmental and cultural issues than the media would have us believe, there is still cause for concern as to the sources Francis has chosen for his own climate change education.

The pope has relied on some less than reputable sources for his encyclical. Jeffrey Sachs, an economist with a lifelong adoration of socialist policies, has been a vocal supporter of abortion and just the kind of redistributive activities that make him a darling of the Left. The Vatican invited him to speak at its conference on climate change.

Another “gem” the Vatican has listened to is Hans Joachim Schellnhuber. Schellnhuber, director of Germany’s Potsdam Institute and the WBGU, a German climate change advisory council, authored the two-degree-trigger, which stated that a two-degree-Centigrade average rise in global surface temperature was the point of no return in terms of climate change. He claimed that we would reach this point by 2020. Of course, the 18-year lull in rising temperatures forced Schellnhuber to revise his doomsday date to 2030.

Whether or not Francis chooses to surround himself with real scientists or enviro-Nazis is his choice, but has the pope stirred a storm by injecting the Catholic Church into the environmental debate?

The Catholic Church has always been part of the political debate in Europe and around the world. Hundreds of years ago, Church decisions drove politics and individual nations followed its lead. Today it’s a different story, though. Christianity is facing a withering ideological attack in the U.S. and Western Europe by secularists who preach the primacy of the state or the individual above God. Except when it suits them, like with “Laudato Si.”

It could be that Pope Francis is not the liberal activist the Left wishes him to be. He still holds dear many tenets of the Church that rankle liberal ideologues, such as his beliefs onheterosexual parents and abortion. And even if Francis chooses to embrace the radical liberal environmental agenda, there will always be room for a loyal opposition within the Catholic Church.

OPINION IN BRIEF

Mona Charen: “They’re coming for our money. OK, that’s nothing new, but this time, the Obama administration is coming for our $10 bills — the notes graced by the image of Alexander Hamilton. True to the identity politics of the Democratic Party, the Obama Treasury Department has announced that some worthy female will replace Hamilton on the currency. The sheer arrogance, ignorance and stupidity of this move are difficult to capture in one column. Let’s start with stupidity. If there’s one figure whose face arguably does not deserve to adorn the currency, it’s the man on the $20 bill, not the $10. That is Andrew Jackson, seventh president of the United States, adamant opponent of paper currency (!), friend of slave power and scourge of Native Americans. … Here’s the solution: Upgrade the security features on the $10, but keep Hamilton in his spot. Dump Jackson from the $20 and hold an essay competition among American high school seniors for his replacement. It would be a great exercise in the appreciation of excellence. Both sexes may be nominated. … [B]y announcing in advance that you’re choosing a woman, you’ve guaranteed that the honor will be downgraded to the ‘best woman’ rather than the best candidate. In short, you’d be echoing the Hillary Clinton campaign.”

Insight: “To enjoy freedom, if the platitude is pardonable, we have of course to control ourselves. We must not squander our powers, helplessly and ignorantly,

Pamela Geller, Atlas Shrugs: Islam, Jihad, Israel and the Islamic War on the West - 5 new articles

Michelle Obama UK visit: “When I look at young British Muslim women, I see myself”

“When I look out at all these young women, I see myself. In so many ways your story is my story.”

In saying this, Michelle Obama is implying that both she and the Muslim girls she is addressing face oppression, discrimination, and disadvantage. She is, in other words, advancing the false Muslims-as-victims narrative that Islamic advocacy groups such as Hamas-CAIR work so hard to cultivate in the U.S. She does not, of course, address the fact that the primary source of the oppression and discrimination that these Muslim girls face and will face in the future is their own families — primarily their fathers and husbands. Michelle Obama could have called upon these girls to reject the Sharia misogyny that devalues...

Ramadan Bomb-a-thon 2015: 31 Dead in Yemen, Multiple Bomb Blasts Target Iran-backed Houthis

UPDATE: The Islamic State claims responsibility for multiple bombings in Yemen.

And so it begins……Ramadan starts on June 17th this year, and every year during the Islamic holy month, jihad terror spikes, and violence against non-Muslims and religious minorities reaches new levels of depraved inhumanity. Holy month = mass murder. Every year during the month of Ramadan, the website, The Religion of Peace, keeps a “Ramadan Bombathon scorecard” that ticks up daily as the body count rises.

Iranian-backed jihadists (Houthis) were targeted in well-coordinated bomb blasts at the house of the head of the Iranian-backed Houthi “militia politburo,” Saleh al-Sammad, and two Houthi mosques.

NYSE: KO: Coca-Cola Palestinian CEO On Video Endorsing Racism, Endorsement of BDS & Sanctions Against Israel

The Arab [Muslim] League boycott of Israel is a systematic effort by Arab League member states to isolate Israel economically to prevent Arab states and discourage non-Arabs from providing support to Israel. In 1977, the United States Congress passed a law which fines would be levied on American companies which cooperate with the boycott. For the surveillance after the implementation of this law, an office called the “Office of Antiboycott Compliance” was opened in the United States as part of the US Department of Commerce.

Why isn’t this law being enforced against companies that are engaging in the BDS terror campaign against Israel?

As we reported a few days ago, the CEO of Coca-Cola “Palestine” has urged a...

FBI agent knife-attacked by Muslim during ISIS investigation in NYC

Jihad-related arrests in America are not just daily now in America, but we now are seeing multiple arrests, plots, attempted murders. What’s it going to take for media and polticial elites to stop blaming those of us opposing jihad terror and start focusing on the jihadic doctrine and the Islamic texts and teaching that command this bloody holy war against the West?

According to court documents from the Eastern District of New York, Fareed Mumuni, 21, was arrested during the execution of a search warrant in his home. During the search, Mumuni allegedly attempted to stab an FBI special agent with a large kitchen knife. Herepeatedly lunged and attempted to plunge the knife “into the torso of an FBI special agent.”

2016 DEM POWER INDEX: FEEL THE BERN!
While Hilly Clinton channels Elizabeth Warren and cozies up to the base by tweaking President nObama on trade, Bernie Sanders has clamped down hard on the Democratic front runner in a series of sharp attacks. Sanders’ steady barrage – shining a spotlight on Clinton’s vague policy positions and a record that makes the left nervous – has touched a nerve and drawn in large crowds on the trail. Sanders grasp of the megaphone stands in clear contrast to the quiet traverses of early primary states by O’Malley, Webb and Chafee. So Bernie’s earned a bump up to number two in the Democratic index.
Big draw - Des Moines Register: “Sanders continues his streak of attracting large, loud crowds in Iowa. The audience of mostly professionals and older adults, mixed with some college-age and younger attendees, rewarded him with applause more than 100 times.”
“I helped lead the effort in the Senate against the Keystone pipeline…Secretary Clinton has been very quiet on this issue. I voted against the war in Iraq…Secretary Clinton voted for the war.  I voted against the USA Patriot Act…Secretary Clinton voted for it.  But I think bottom line is, the American people want leadership to take on the billionaire class, represent the middle class…People will have to judge the secretary's role in that process.” -- Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., on CBS ‘Face the Nation”   -Fox News

Bubba says his wife had to do two jobs -  Former President Bill Clinton said Sunday that Hilly had to get involved in economic diplomacy because there wasn’t a commerce secretary during much of her time as secretary of state. WaPo’s fact check says, “For three out of the four years, there was a Senate-confirmed commerce secretary sitting near Hilly Clinton at Cabinet meetings. Moreover, the secretary of state is supposed to engage in economic diplomacy…But Clinton’s assertion that if not for Hilly Clinton, ‘nobody would have been doing’ economic diplomacy is quite a stretch, given the dominant role of the Treasury Secretary on international economic issues.”
Hilly laments mean-spiritedness after attack-filled campaign re-launch - At her first Iowa rally after Saturday’s New York re-launch, Clinton talked mean-spiritedness of today’s political dialogue saying, “Did they not go and hear the same lessons I did in Sunday school? Did they not sing the same hymns?” Like the kind of politics in which you use a framing speech to bash your rivals by name? Watch here.

Clinton falls in the middle on trade -  Fox News: “Hilly Clinton said Sunday the problems that Congress has with President nObama’s trade agenda should be an opportunity for the president to ask fellow Democrats about their concerns with the proposal but still declined to say whether she supports or opposes the legislation. ‘Let’s take the lemons and turn it into lemonade,’ Clinton told about 600 supporters at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, addressing the controversial Trans Pacific Partnership trade proposal…Courting Iowa voters, Clinton sought to address Democratic opponents of the trade legislation, including liberals and labor unions…Clinton appeared to be seeking a middle ground, saying while some support the deal and others vehemently oppose it, ‘I kind of fall in the group that says ‘what's in it?’ And ‘let’s make it as good as it can be, and then let’s make a decision.’”
“I would hope very much that Secretary Clinton will side with every union in this country, virtually every environmental group, many religious groups, and say that this TPP policy is a disaster, that it must be defeated…” – Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.,on CBS “Face the Nation.”

Trooper Dave Hintz said he was surprised to see the woman driving down the highway on her scooter. Other drivers were too, thinking the woman was leading the trooper on a low-speed chase. Hintz said he was simply trying to get her home, not detain her. ‘I just treated her the way I would've wanted somebody to treat my mom,’ said Hintz. He ended up escorting the woman home, letting her drive as fast as the scooter would go, which is 6 miles per hour. After an hour, she made it home…The woman was not ticketed after the incident.”

 China’s stall
(Derek Scissors) ~ It is often forgotten that changes in economic policy can require years to make an impact. Recalling this is important in understanding China’s economic trajectory... The most common description today is that China is slowing. In fact, it is stagnating. In 1978, China began to grant limited private property rights and to permit limited competition. These steps helped create an economic miracle, among other things lifting 850 million people out of poverty over a generation. But for more than a decade now, the Communist Party has chosen not to move forward on private property rights and competition, instead emphasizing an unprecedented amount of state-directed spending. The result is a severely damaged environment, an unbalanced economy, and a painful debt burden.     http://www.aei.org/publication/chinas-stall/?utm_source=paramount&utm_medium=email&utm_content=AEITODAY&utm_campaign=061815

Questions that every presidential candidate should answer
(Katherine Zimmerman) ~ The recent news that US airstrikes may have killed two senior al Qaeda leaders – including al Qaeda’s general manager – once again raises the question of the overall effectiveness of a strategy of attrition against the group... Certainly there have been some significant blows to al Qaeda, and most recently to al Qaeda’s affiliate in Yemen. The US has taken four senior leaders off the battlefield in Yemen in the past six months, but there has been no obvious slowdown in al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula’s activities there. Even as the US sees success in degrading al Qaeda’s leadership, al Qaeda has been able to grow and expand its insurgency across the Muslim-majority world. Al Qaeda’s expansion is occurring even as the Islamic State in Iraq and al Sham (ISIS) strengthens at an alarming rate. Both groups are exploiting conditions within the Muslim-majority world advanced in part by America’s current foreign policy positions. A muddled approach to the region has left the US with few strong allies there and even fewer good options for partners against the escalating extremist threat.        http://www.aei.org/publication/5-questions-that-every-president-should-answer-al-qaeda-edition/?utm_source=paramount&utm_medium=email&utm_content=AEITODAY&utm_campaign=061815

 Micro-Totalitarianism
(Thomas Sowell) ~ The political left has come up with a new buzzword: “micro-aggression.”... Professors at the University of California at Berkeley have been officially warned against saying such things as “America is the land of opportunity.” Why? Because this is considered to be an act of “micro-aggression” against minorities and women. Supposedly it shows that you don’t take their grievances seriously and are therefore guilty of being aggressive toward them, even if only on a micro scale. You might think that this is just another crazy idea from Berkeley. But the same concept appears in a report from the flagship campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana. If you just sit in a room where all the people are white, you are considered to be guilty of “micro-aggression” against people who are not white, who will supposedly feel uncomfortable when they enter such a room.       http://www.frontpagemag.com/2015/thomas-sowell/micro-totalitarianism/?utm_source=FrontPage+Magazine&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=294e5f8272-Mailchimp_FrontPageMag&utm_term=0_57e32c1dad-294e5f8272-156509103

First Mary Jo Kopechne, Then America
(Ann Coulter) ~ Sen. Ted Kennedy’s 1965 immigration act allowed the Democrats to start winning elections the same way they win recounts: by enlarging the pool of voters... Liberals couldn’t convince Americans to agree with them, but they happened to notice that the people of most other countries in the world already agreed with them. So Sen. Ted Kennedy’s immigration act brought in millions of poverty-stricken foreigners to live off the American taxpayer and bloc-vote for the Democrats. The American people aren’t changing their minds. Americans are becoming a minority to other, new people. Deft politicians used to know how to convince the 15 percent on the fence. But even Reagan would look at today’s electorate and say: Who are you guys? We live in a different country, and I don’t remember moving.       http://www.frontpagemag.com/2015/ann-coulter/first-mary-jo-kopechne-then-america/?utm_source=FrontPage+Magazine&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=294e5f8272-Mailchimp_FrontPageMag&utm_term=0_57e32c1dad-294e5f8272-156509103

Theft By Deception: The Immigration Con Game
(Michael Cutler) ~ A pattern of criminality has been in progress for decades with more Americans falling victim to this crime each day... The crime is “theft by deception.” Because of this, millions of Americans are losing their thin sliver of the American Dream, their security and their peace of mind. Today politicians from both political parties, echoing the claims of many special interest groups that provide massive campaign contributions, use deceptive language to achieve their (criminal) goals. As you will see, the claims they make about immigration are without merit and are deceptive and seek to satisfy their campaign contributors. The perpetrators are our elected politicians from both the “Repugnantcan” and “Demoncrat” parties.       http://www.frontpagemag.com/2015/michael-cutler/theft-by-deception-the-immigration-con-game/?utm_source=FrontPage+Magazine&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=294e5f8272-Mailchimp_FrontPageMag&utm_term=0_57e32c1dad-294e5f8272-156509103

Hilly Wants to Fundamentally Transform American Elections
(J. Christian Adams) ~ Hilly Clinton has given Republicans a taste of what is to come. In recent days, she has delivered two speeches laying out an architecture that Democrats will use to retain the White House in 2016. Republicans better pay close attention... Hilly jettisoned Bill’s triangulation from the 1990’s and aligned with the radical racialist muscle that now dominates the Democrat party of 2015. In Houston, she tried to scare racial minorities by conjuring the ghost of Jim Crow. On Welfare Island in New York City, she launched a cultural crusade to pit racial and sexual interest groups against mainstream America. Hilly is banking on Republicans responding to these attacks the same way they have in the past: shock, then shame, followed by capitulation. Clinton isn’t alone among the candidates in this approach. She is merely borrowing the rhetoric and tactics which will be employed by whoever the Democrats nominate. Indeed, the Democrats will nominate whichever candidate employs these tactics the best. Martin O’Malley and Elizabeth Warren will certainly match Hilly’s leftward lurch, without the burden of Hillary’s baggage. Let’s hope Republicans understand Hillary’s architecture and learn how to neutralize it.       http://www.frontpagemag.com/2015/j-christian-adams/hillary-wants-to-fundamentally-transform-american-elections/?utm_source=FrontPage+Magazine&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=294e5f8272-Mailchimp_FrontPageMag&utm_term=0_57e32c1dad-294e5f8272-156509103

 Betrayal of the Jews
(Paul Schnee) ~ Students of the University of California, Irvine (UCI) are speaking out against the Jewish Federation and Family Services of Orange County and its history of intimidation of pro-Israel students... Several students have recently come forward to share the challenges they have faced from the organization, including an incident in which a Federation official “blamed” a Jewish student who was assaulted by anti-Israel protesters and objected to her calling the police. In general, students report extreme frustration with ongoing hostility from the Federation, and in light of recent controversy involving the organization head’s public abuse of a pro-Israel student, they have chosen to tell their stories. The pro-Israel UCI organization Anteaters for Israel (AFI), instead of being encouraged and supported by the Federation and its local Hillel, have not only become the focus of the Federation’s ire, but also the victims of its appeasement of demonstrably Jew-hating groups such as the Muslim Student Union (MSU) and Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP). It is no surprise, therefore, that at least three members of AFI, Sharon Shaoulian, Jackie A. and Emily P.*, have become increasingly alarmed and concerned about the Jew-hatred on UCI’s campus and what appears to be the unimpeded growth of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement there.       http://www.frontpagemag.com/2015/paul-schnee/the-betrayal-of-the-jews/?utm_source=FrontPage+Magazine&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=294e5f8272-Mailchimp_FrontPageMag&utm_term=0_57e32c1dad-294e5f8272-156509103

(Mike Needham) ~ Many Republicans are watching ongoing developments in the King v. Burwell nObamacare case with trepidation. In the abstract, most recognize the opportunity such a case represents to roll back nObamacare and force a debate about real, pro-market insurance reform... But as the decision looms, many now have second thoughts, convinced that the country will blame them for disruption in the ruling’s wake and that eventually, the only politically tolerable option will be to cave and restore the nObamacare subsidies eliminated by the Supreme Court. That assumption is wrong, and Republicans will do more harm than good for their cause if they act on it. According to a new poll conducted by the American Perceptions Initiative at The Heritage Foundation, the fear that Republicans, not Democrats, will take the blame for any disruption caused by the ruling appears to be unfounded. Only 36 percent of Americans will blame congressional Republicans, with 58 percent of the blame split between President nObama and congressional Democrats.       http://dailysignal.com/2015/06/17/dont-fix-obamacare/?utm_source=heritagefoundation&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=morningbell&mkt_tok=3RkMMJWWfF9wsRoguKTLZKXonjHpfsX56%2BQpWqS%2BlMI%2F0ER3fOvr

GOP Congress Conspiring With nObama To Pass nObamaTrade
(redstate.com) ~ Establishment Republicans are not listening to the American people. Despite a broad coalition of conservatives and liberals standing firmly in opposition, Republicans in Congress are, once again, conspiring with Barack nObama to pass nObamaTrade on Thursday, according to the Associated Press... In addition to harming U.S. sovereignty, the GOP move comes despite a report that raises the question whether the Trans-Pacific Partnership (dubbed by unions to be “NAFTA on steroids”) may cost up to one million more manufacturing jobs. Unfortunately, last week’s grassroots victory in defeating nObamaTrade was only temporary as nObama and his co-conspirators Rep. backstabber John Boehner (R-OH) and Sen. Mitch McCon-nell (R-KY) work on passing the measure tomorrow - Thursday.       http://www.redstate.com/2015/06/17/update-gop-congress-conspiring-obama-pass-obamatrade-thursday/

 Europe's Intolerable "Tolerance"
(Samuel Westrop) ~ Former Prime Minister Tony Blair has accepted an invitation to become chairman of the European Council on Tolerance and Reconciliation (ECTR)... The ECTR boasts an advisory board comprising a dozen European presidents and prime ministers. It describes itself as a non-governmental body that "fosters understanding and tolerance among peoples of various ethnic origin; educates on techniques of reconciliation; facilitates post-conflict social apprehensions; monitors chauvinistic behaviours, proposes protolerance initiatives and legal solutions." Behind all this jargon, Blair and the ECTR claim to promote religious belief and dialogue as a means to challenge hate speech and extremism.   http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/5990/europe-tolerance

Scandals Galore
.
Burt_Header_M2.jpg
.
(burtprelutsky.com) ~ Every time you turn around these days, there’s a new Clintonian scandal in the news. Among conservatives, the scandals raise hackles, while among liberals, they don’t even result in a raised eyebrow.
.
It’s unfortunate that liberals only care what you say, not what you do, but, unfortunately, that’s the only way it can work with that crowd. Once you sign on to be a Democrat, the contract demands that you never dare question why, for instance, Barack nObama has kept all of his documents under lock and key or why Bill Clinton has never served time for sexual assault, accepting bribes or fudging on his income taxes.
.
So long as politicians on the Left utter the customary pieties about urban blacks, illegal aliens, Muslims, public schools, homosexuals, unions and single women, while blaspheming religious people, corporations, gun owners and conservatives, they will continue to hold their own in national elections.
.
♦ Speaking of the 2016 election, I honestly believe that American society in general has been in decline for so many years and on so many fronts that there will never be a return to anything close to what the Founding Fathers had in mind.
.
We can still elect some people who will slow the descent, but only slightly. Once you have made tens of millions of people dependent on welfare in all its insidious forms, it’s impossible to wean them away from the government teat.
.
All in all, America has had a damn good run. It should have lasted longer, but in the end even the likes of Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe and Adams, couldn’t save us from ourselves.
.
♦ It was those Founders who represented our greatest generation. The over-hyped “Greatest Generation,” the one that had to deal with the Depression of the 30s and World War II, ran a very distant second. Let us not forget that they gave us what was, until then, the Worst Generation, the one that came to prominence in the 1960s, fully displaying the ignorance and arrogance of youth through drugs, sexual promiscuity and political nihilism. They in turn set about begetting the stupid, greedy, selfish ignoramuses, whose proudest achievements to date were twice electing Barack nObama to lead the nation and turning an intentionally blind eye to the numerous crimes and sins of Hilly Clinton.
.
♦ A few readers let me know that in spite of my assurances to the contrary, they were certain nObama would declare martial law next year, preventing the presidential election from taking place. In response, after reminding them that the military would not stand idly by and allow it to happen, I pointed out that nObama has kicked a lot of cans down the road for the next guy-- particularly when it comes to foreign affairs involving the Middle East, North Africa, Russia, China and North Korea – and he has no intention of being that guy.
.
The real danger confronting America isn’t four or even 40 more years of nObama, but the fact that the same folks who elected him twice will still be around and still voting.
.
♦ Another reader wanted to know how killing terrorists who wish to be suicide bombers dissuades them. I told him that dissuasion shouldn’t be our concern; killing them should be.
.
♦ On a related subject, I find it depressing that we are neglecting to bomb ISIS strongholds because we’re afraid of killing innocent Muslims. One, I don’t believe there are very many of those. To me, be they Sunni or Shia, it’s a difference without a distinction. Besides, how is being bombed by us worse than being beheaded, burned or crucified, by ISIS?
.
♦ A friend who attended a recent high school graduation in Burbank, CA, came home with a program, on the back of which was printed a message. It read: “The Burbank Unified School District is committed to equal opportunity for all individuals in education. District programs and activities shall be free from discrimination based on disability, gender, gender identification, gender expression, genetic information, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or association with a person or group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics.”
.
I let her know that I, personally, as a proud thin-skinned American, was offended that there was no mention of height, weight or hair color. And I suppose the fact that it was excluded from the list, means that in Burbank it is still open season on left-handed people.
.
It is this widespread attempt by liberals to portray virtually everyone in America as a victim that has led Fox’s Megyn Kelly to start referring to members of these coddled groups as” cupcakes.” My own pet term is “cow pies.”
.
♦ In the ongoing brouhaha over the NSA, I recalled that a former English Prime Minister, William Pitt, once said, “Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.”
.
If Rand Paul were more eloquent than the typical U.S. senator, he might have uttered such stirring words during his latest filibuster. However, there is nothing about collecting phone numbers and noting the length of calls that infringes even slightly on anyone’s freedoms. Otherwise, the phone company would be unable to send anyone a monthly bill.
.
After declaring that his fellow Republicans are to blame for ISIS, I half expected Hilly Clinton to announce that Sen. Paul would be her running mate. And if she happened to be south of the Mason-Dixon line at the time, we could expect her to introduce him to y’all as her honey child, as she continues to conduct her long-running audition for the role of Queenie in “Show Boat.”
.
♦ In other news, 14 defendants, including nine current and former officials, four marketing executives and an intermediary, have been indicted in a scandal involving FIFA (the Federation Internationale de Football Association).
.
“Football” being what such Third World nations as Spain, France and Brazil, call soccer, the scandal has a great deal of the uncivilized world aghast. To me, the only surprise is that the intermediary hasn’t yet been identified as Bill Clinton.
.
Nobody should ever be shocked when a small group of people who are granted absolute authority to determine which cities get to host major events such as the World Cup, the Olympic Games or political conventions, allow bribes to sway their judgment. Frankly, they’d have to be jabbering idiots to base the selection process on anything but the size of the payoff. It sure makes more sense than the alternative, which consists of flipping a coin

mur-1.jpg?width=158Wednesday night, the scene in Charleston South Carolina was chaotic. Nine people including the pastor had been gunned down…killed…inside their church during a service and the gunman was on the loose.

Police were everywhere, some with dogs, others in helicopters, many on foot and more in
vehicles…searching, interviewing, looking for evidence, speaking with reporters, trying to get a grip on what had taken place shortly after 9pm inside the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, an historic church dating all the way back to 1816 and one of the first black churches in our nation.

Authorities there and elsewhere are calling it a hate crime and they are 100% right to do so.

The shooter, caught entering the church on surveillance cameras was a white man, appearing to be in his early 20’s. He went in, watched the service for nearly an hour and then, according to surviving witnesses…stood up and opened fire. By the time he fled, just moments later, six women and three men…one of the men being Clementa Pinckney, the church pastor and a South Carolina State Senator…were dead.

Obviously, it was a hate crime. Nobody walks into a church and opens fire on those inside…

Targeted for Being Conservative?

4064141335?profile=original

This week I decided to go to my bank to get some cash. The cash in my purse was dwindling and it was time to replenish. I made the turn into the area that the bank, post office and a few shops occupy. It was nice to see that there was no line-up as I turned into the ATM line. I don't scare easily but sirens, flashing lights and police cars surrounding me made me uncomfortable. I started to think to myself, "What did I do wrong? Nothing with my car." was my conclusion. I was wearing a Rand Paul t-shirt.

The police car to my right had one police officer in it and he was motioning me to back up. I looked through my rear window and saw there was another police car there, "Where would I back up?"

Now, I was surrounded and wondering to myself why. Given the way this country has turned around and the way the IRS targets 'Conservatives' made me wonder if they had traced those 'memes' I had made on my computer or read some of my articles. Maybe they read the political poem I had written? I certainly had not committed any crime but I was a Patriot.

The police officer in the car in back of me got out and waved all traffic to stop. I sat in my car wondering what was going to happen. Wild thoughts ran through my head. Maybe having strong political views was going to get me in serious trouble. Lawyers names seeped through my brain.

The officer got back in his car and backed up. The officer to my right motioned for me to back up. I wasn't not going to listen. I slowly and carefully backed up and an officer motioned for me to move forward. I did as I was told and kept driving.

I thought to myself, "What the heck just happened?"

As I turned onto a street on the other side of the bank, I saw a police dog sniffing around. Oh my God, maybe there was a bank robbery? I kept driving. I had other stops to make on this day and I could use a credit card.

First, there was a stop I had to make that I had being putting off. I had been refused a Kohl's credit card even though my credit rating is very high and my credit is impeccable. I was told that it could be an error on the information on my driver's license. I was told to go to my local police department office and ask for it to be checked. The police department was along the road, so, I stopped and parked my car. It seemed that no other cars were there, so, this would not take too long.

I entered through the doors of the building and as I approached a lady at the information window, the doors swung open and a camera crew came in behind me. Oh my God, "What had I done now? Did they know I was a 'Conservative' because of my Rand Paul t-shirt and did they follow me?"

I thought to myself, "Why do I have my name on my license plate? I must be stupid!"

4064141406?profile=original

The crew had not come for me. I was relieved. I asked the lady at the window if my driver's license could be checked. Politely, I explained why. She answered me, "There is no way I can do this for you. You will have to call PennDOT."

I answered back, "That's who sent me here."

She replied, "Only a police officer can do that. There are no police officers here."

I asked, "This is a police station; what do mean there are no police officers here?"

I was told to come back another time. I passed by the camera crew and left. I felt rather confused.

Well, down the road, was a Walmart. I surely could buy the few things I needed there. I drove the short distance and turned into the parking lot. It seemed eerie and empty as I pulled in. I drove up closer to the first door and saw that the few people trying to go inside were being turned away. I was not going to try to get in. I drove away.

4064141432?profile=original

There is a store, T.J.Maxx, that carries a 'trail-mix' that I especially like. I figured I'd go there and quickly pick up some, since I was out. I drove there and I parked in the parking lot and went inside. "Wow, I thought, they must be having a big sale!"

4064141452?profile=original

The store was packed with women. I took a cart, after all, who knows what I might find on sale! My hearing is quite acute so I listened to people on their cell phones speaking. I could decipher that people were in the store to kill time. There had been a bomb-scare and all the clients and workers at the bank and Walmart were told to leave. It seemed as though the workers were not sure if and when they should go back to work.

4064141388?profile=original

I found out later that no bomb was found. The call that there were bombs did mess up my day. Wearing my Rand Paul t-shirt was not the cause of my problems nor was the fact that I am a Conservative with my name on my license plate. What does bother me though, is that I actually believed for short periods of time that those things could be the reason. Do I no longer feel like I live in the 'land of the free'?

 4064141451?profile=original

I did get my 'trail-mix' but I feel disillusioned with my beautiful country. What has happened in a few short years has turned my little world upside down. There was a bomb-scare in my small city. I feared I was being targeted for my political beliefs. I should not feel the way I did in America. Why did I ever feel like I had done something wrong? I'm not a criminal. I am, however, a Conservative Constitutionalist.

EPA Causing This Summer’s Rising Electricity Rates

Due to EPA regulations, you’ll start to notice that your electricity bill is more expensive this summer. The Energy Information Administration predicted that Americans will spend 4.8% more on electricity this year than the last. Is global warming causing air conditioners to run more? Nah, it’s just EPA regulations that are causing power plants to close because they are not deemed green enough. “Consumers are receiving the dim news as utilities take tens of thousands of megawatts of coal-generated power offline to comply with a host of EPA regulations and because of the sharp increase in cheap, domestic natural gas,” The Washington Times reports. “Regulations such as the EPA’s mercury and air toxic standards already are having an effect on the power sector, utilities and analysts say, and the impact will be greater after the agency releases further limits on carbon emissions from power plants this summer.” The EPA argues the effects will be minuscule — people will hardly notice the bill. It’s all part of a fight against the boogey man of “global warming,” and old electricity plants must shutter to make way for politically correct plants — an expensive undertaking. But when has the EPA ever acted in the best interests of U.S. citizens?

Donald Trump Brings Levity to Presidential Race

Donald Trump would be a mere sideshow curiosity in the 2016 elections if it were not for his name recognition and entertainment factor. According to Real Clear Politics, Trump is polling higher than Rick Perry, Carly Fiorina, Rick Santorum, Lindsey Graham and Bobby Jindal. But even if he’s fired in the end — and we hope he is — he will provide some much-needed humor. After Tuesday’s announcement, Politico pulled Trump’s 10 best lines. Notably, however, Politico missed the best one: “When did we beat Japan at anything?” Well, there was that whole WWII thing in the Pacific… But to put things in perspective, as absurd as the Trump vanity campaign is, he is far more qualified than Barack Obama was in 2009 — or today! For example, Obama put Joe Biden on his ticket. When Trump was asked who he wanted as a running mate, he replied, “I think Oprah would be great. I’d love to have Oprah.” Frankly, presidential elections could use a little levity. It’s been a long time since the last billionaire vanity campaign kept us amused, compliments of Ross Perot!

White Male Targets Blacks in Charleston

A young white male in his early 20s murdered nine blacks who were attending a Wednesday night prayer service in Charleston’s Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. It’s still a developing story, as the murderer has not yet been apprehended and the names of the victims have not yet been disclosed, but according to Charleston Police Chief Greg Mullen, “We believe this is a hate crime; that is how we are investigating it.” But already some anti-Second Amendment crusaders are exploiting the tragedy to advance their pet policy proposals. Charleston Mayor Joseph Riley was the first to do so, wasting no time advocating for greater gun control as a diversionary ploy. “I personally believe there are far too many guns out there, and access to guns, it’s far too easy,” he said. “Our society has not been able to deal with that yet.” Make no mistake: This story is newsworthy. But it’s also worth noting that, on average, there are between 30 and 40 homicides every day in America, most of which are black-on-black. If “black lives matter” to the Leftmedia, why aren’t these other victims covered in the news?

FEATURED RIGHT ANALYSIS

EPA Thinks Regulation Leads to Economic Growth

2015-06-18-34013099_large.jpg

In the early days, fighting “global warming” was environmentally responsible; fast-forward a few years, and addressing “climate change” was socially just. Now, with only so much rhetoric left in the eco-friendly arsenal, battling supposed anthropogenic climate change has become economically advantageous.

At least, that’s what EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy argues in a piece published this week on Medium, in which she claims the administration’s Clean Power Plan (CPP) — a pleasant sounding name for sweeping additional government regulations of carbon emissions — is important to America’s economic strength. Notwithstanding the fact this administration doesn’t have the best track record on policies leading to economic robustness, McCarthy points to astudy by the liberal Economic Policy Institute that found “the CPP is likely to lead to a net increase of roughly 360,000 jobs in 2020, but that the net job creation falls relatively rapidly thereafter, with net employment gains of roughly 15,000 jobs in 2030.”

Those jobs are the new regulators who will be hired to enforce the new regulations, nothing more.

In other words, forget hoping a free market will drive economic growth; what’s really needed is new regulations on carbon emissions! As McCarthy writes, “When we set ground rules to limit carbon pollution, we send a long-term market signal that propels innovation and investment in cleaner energy technologies, expanding new industries and creating good-paying jobs.” She’s right that the administration is sending a market signal, but it’s not the one she claims.

Indeed, according to labor union leader Cecil Roberts, president of United Mine Workers of America (UMWA), “The proposed rule … will lead to long-term and irreversible job losses for thousands of coal miners, electrical workers, utility workers, boilermakers, railroad workers and others without achieving any significant reduction of global greenhouse gas emissions.” The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers echoed this concern, cautioning against “focus[ing] solely on the environmental aspect of public policy at the expense of balancing our nation’s economic and energy needs” and noting, “The jobs of thousands of working men and women and the well-being of their communities are also worthy of saving.”

Furthermore, per a study commissioned by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, CPP’s regulations “threaten to suppress average annual U.S. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by $51 billion and lead to an average of 224,000 fewer U.S. jobs every year through 2030, relative to baseline economic forecasts.” And according to The Heritage Foundation, the economic impact would be even worse, with EPA regulations eliminating an average of $155 billion annually in GDP through 2030.

Of course, before the EPA rams regulations down the nation’s throat, the administration wants to hear from Americans — sort of. When the public comment period opened regarding the then-proposed regulations on coal power plants last year, McCarthy wrote, “We expect great feedback at these sessions. And unfortunately, we also expect a healthy dose of the same tired, false and worn out criticism that commonsense EPA action is bad for the economy.” Ah, yes, agree with us or else you’re wrong.

But as Brooking Institution Fellow Phil Wallach wrote in Newsweek, by the time the comment period closed in December 2014 more than four million comments had been submitted. By comparison, Clean Air Act regulations usually garner a few dozen to a hundred. Instead of ceding that millions of Americans may have serious concerns with CPP, however, Wallach proposed that the “barriers to ‘participating’” in commenting might be a “bit higher, thereby saving our public servants a great deal of unnecessary work.” Yes, nothing like wasting the government’s time addressing the people’s tired, false and worn out petitions.

Public concern notwithstanding, the administration is plowing ahead with CPP, effectively claiming that by picking winners (solar and wind energy) and losers (fossil fuels, including petroleum, coal and natural gas) Washington regulators can create a strong economy. Because, you know, this approach has worked oh so well before.

OPINION IN BRIEF

Victor Davis Hanson: “In 1945, after some 60 million had perished in World War II, the Western democracies blamed themselves for having appeased and empowered fascist empires. That sadder but wiser generation taught us two lessons: Small sacrifices now can avoid catastrophic ones later on, and dictatorial regimes on a roll never voluntarily quit playing geostrategic poker. If the present trajectories continue, a reconfigured Middle East will be bookended by radical Islamic empires — the Islamic State caliphate and a new Persian empire. China will control most of the Pacific and adjudicate trade, commerce and politics west of Hawaii and to the south and east of India. The client states of a new Russian empire will border central Europe and be under constant pressure to leave the EU, NATO or both. How does all this end? One of two ways. America and its allies can reawaken, gradually restore deterrence and re-establish the old postwar order without a global war. Or the United States will not be bothered — at least until this new generation of dictators bothers us at home.”

RUBIO NICKS WALKER, PERRY UP, KASICH KRUMBLES
Scott Walker still has the clear advantage in polling, but give Marco Rubio the edge this week for the political jujitsu move of the month. Rubio made the most of an error in a NYT piece pummeling him for dicey financial moves as a younger man – that described his fishing boat as a “luxury speed boat.”
Now, an $80,000 pleasure boat is not exactly a cocker spaniel, but Rubio’s jack hammering of the Times has a bit of Richard Nixon’s “Checkers” speech to it. Reporters who want to take issue with Rubio’s finances will have to make it about way more than watercraft from here on in. That no doubt helped Rubio as he was auditioning for Romney’s money men in Utah at Camp Mitt this weekend. These are people who spend $80,000 on boat storage, not boats.
The only other candidate or crypto-candidate who right now meets the credibility threshold to beat Bush would be Ohio Gov. John Kasich. But with Kasich’s choice of a campaign team that specializes in double-dog-daring primary voters to back their candidates, he seems unlikely to seek broad-based appeal. Kasich seems instead to be picking a trajectory in which he and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will be battling coffee-shop-by-coffee-shop for a Huntsmanian third-place finish in New Hampshire.
Rick Perry, despite having the worst-ever campaign song in the history of recorded music, is showing that in addition to a new found humility he is also packing a superior campaign organization this time around. Perry’s focus on the military and foreign policy will also serve him well on the trail.  -Fox News

WITH YOUR SECOND CUP OF COFFEE
Next time you categorize something as a failure don’t be so quick to write it off. Sometimes it just takes a couple of centuries…The Magna Carta, arguably one of the most important documents in history, was very nearly lost to history. In 1215,King John needed a means to regain support after many of the barons rebelled against him, and he faced a growing threat of invasion from France. To ensure support at home the king drafted a charter called the Magna Carta, a peace treaty protecting barons from monarchical abuse, in addition to other rights listed. Within a month, King John broke the treaty, however, and the Magna Carta was considered a failure. But in 1642 when civil war broke out in England, Chief Justice Sir Edward Corke used the document as proof of limiting monarchy power, leading to his dismissal from the bench and charges of treason. Leap ahead another 100 years or so and the Magna Carta was once again used in the American Revolutionary War.

House Resolution introduced condemning academic boycott of Israel
(William A. Jacovbson) ~ No university in the U.S. is considering a boycott, as far as I know, and in many ways ties are expanding. The American Studies Association and a handful of much smaller faculty professional organizations have adopted the boycott... but even ASA had to back down from its key provision excluding most Israeli academics from its annual meeting. There have been, and undoubtedly will be more, attempts to get larger faculty organizations to adopt the boycott, but so far that has not happened. There are complaints from some Israelis also of an undeclared boycott of them personally in the humanities, with some American professors refusing to interact. But beyond the actual results, there is no doubt that the academic boycott movement is a malicious attack not just on Israel, but also on our entire academic system. It is led by some of the most outrageous campus characters, the rhetoric often is abusive, and the environmenthostile and threatening.        http://legalinsurrection.com/2015/06/house-resolution-introduced-condemning-academic-boycott-of-israel/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+LegalInsurrection+%28Le%C2%B7gal+In%C2%B7sur%C2%B7rec%C2%B7tion%29

hanoi John Kerry Announces Another Nuclear Concession To Iran
(Jeff Dunetz) ~ One of the key demands the U.S and the P5+ partners made of Iran is that the rogue nation come clean about all the elements of their nuclear program prior to the agreement.  On Tuesday Secretary of State hanoi Kerry walked away from that requirement... The reason that demand is important is the international community cannot confirm that Iran has halted its pursuit of nuclear weapons unless Tehran comes clean on all past and continuing nuclear weapons-related activities. Iran agreed in November 2013 to resolve with the IAEA a list of possible military-related nuclear activities in 12 areas. As of June 2015, Iran has only resolved questions in one of these areas and has claimed the other areas are based on forgeries and fabrications. A real deal with Iran requires answers to those questions to establish a baseline for verification. The United States cab not agree to a nuclear deal with Iran unless the baseline issue is resolved  satisfactorily.        http://yidwithlid.blogspot.com/2015/06/john-kerry-announces-another-nuclear.html?utm_source=The+Lid+List&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=01818ff2f5-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_term=0_597b72c01c-01818ff2f5-291705165&goal=0_597b72c01c-01818ff2f5-291705165

(Soeren Kern) ~ Britain is facing an "unprecedented" threat from hundreds of battle-hardened jihadists who have been trained in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, according to MI5, the domestic counter-intelligence and security agency... It warns that are now more Britons trained in terrorism than at any point in recent memory. More than 700 Britons are believed to have travelled to Syria and Iraq, according to British authorities. Over half of these Britons are thought to have since returned home, where they pose a significant threat to national security.  Would-Be Islamic State Terrorist Charged in New York
(investigativeproject.org) ~ A 20-year-old Queens, N.Y. man is charged with planning an attack in the name of the Islamic State terrorist group (ISIS)... Munther Omar Saleh was arrested on Saturdaywith two others after charging a police cruiser. One of his co-conspirators had a knife in the waistband of his pants. Investigators believe Saleh was trying to make a bomb to blow up somewhere in New York in ISIS' name. When the FBI had a confidential source pose as a radical Islamist and reach out to him, Saleh wrote that he was "in NY and trying to do an Op." He quickly cut off contact with the FBI source, saying he was ordered by ISIS to do so. Saleh first appeared on law enforcement radar in March after a Port Authority officer saw him walking across the George Washington Bridge with a lantern. Saleh asked the officer for a ride across the bridge; the officer refused and directed him toward a bus depot on the New Jersey side of the bridge. The same officer saw Saleh on the bridge the next day. The officer escorted Saleh to the New Jersey Port Authority office, where he was questioned and denied any familiarity with ISIS.        http://www.investigativeproject.org/4885/would-be-islamic-state-terrorist-charged-in-new

Liberals Make Big Comeback in 2015, Poll Analysis Finds
(Janet Hook) ~ There are signs that liberals are making a comeback — and not just because a socialist is running for president, gay marriage is spreading like wildfire and pot legalization is gaining acceptance... A new analysis of Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll data finds a marked  increase in the share of registered voters identifying themselves as liberals, and an even bigger drop in the share saying they are conservatives. In three national polls conducted so far in 2015, the analysis found that 26% of registered voters identified themselves as liberals — up from 23% in 2014. At the same time, the share of voters identifying as conservatives dropped to 33% from 37% in 2014.        http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2015/06/07/liberals-make-big-comeback-in-2015-poll-analysis-finds/?utm_source=newsletters&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=JVL+06_17_2015

The Washington Examiner obtained a dozen drafts of the report that revealed officials under Harold Geisel, the temporary inspector general during Clinton’s four-year tenure, let sections be edited out in late 2012.  Former D.C. Government Official Sentenced for Fraud
(fbi.gov) ~ Neil S. Rodgers, a former District of Columbia government official, was sentenced today to a period of incarceration and ordered to pay full restitution on a charge stemming from his role in channeling $110,000 in youth and drug prevention grant funds that were used to pay for an inaugural ball... The sentencing was announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Vincent H. Cohen, Jr., Andrew G. McCabe, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office, and Thomas Jankowski, Special Agent in Charge of the Washington Field Office of the Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation. Rodgers was found guilty in March 2015, by a jury in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, of first-degree fraud. The Honorable Senior Judge John D. Bates sentenced Rodgers to 36 days of incarceration, to be served over 12 weekends. He also ordered him to pay $110,000 in restitution.  Imported Muslims arriving now in these U.S. cities
(Leo Hohmann) ~ A few congressmen are fighting to block the planned importation of thousands of Syrian refugees into American cities and towns, arguing that they present a grave security risk because many Syrians have ties to the Sunni rebel groups ISIS and al-Nusra Front... But the fact is, as President nObama ignores the concerns of U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, and others on the House Homeland Security Committee, the Syrians have already started to arrive stateside. Since January, more than 70 U.S. cities have been on the receiving end of a Syrian visitation.        http://www.wnd.com/2015/06/syrian-muslims-arriving-now-in-these-u-s-cities/

A Vote for Trade Promotion Authority
Is Not a Vote for nObama
George Will
.
(nationalreview.com) ~ Before presidential politics — the game of getting to 270 electoral votes — completely eclipses governing, there is the urgent task of getting to 217 votes in the House of Representatives to pass Trade Promotion Authority (TPA). This would guarantee a vote without amendments on the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement. Without TPA, any trade agreement will be nibbled to death in Congress by persons eager to do organized labor’s bidding. So, Republicans who oppose TPA are collaborating with those who oppose increasing the velocity and rationality of economic life.
.
TPA touches two challenging problems: one economic, one constitutional. Regarding both, conservatives have special responsibilities.
.
The economic challenge is to generate economic growth sufficient to restore vigor and upward mobility to an underemployed America, sustaining national security and entitlements as, every day, another 10,000 baby boomers become eligible for Social Security and Medicare. The constitutional problem is how to restore institutional equilibrium by bringing the presidency back within the restraints the Founders devised with the separation of powers.
.
Only conservatives can turn economic policy away from the self-defeating aim of redistribution, and toward growth. This goal would be advanced by the trade agreement among the twelve nations who together account for 37 percent of the world’s GDP and one-third of world trade. Defeating TPA, and thus the agreement, is a service most House Democrats will perform for a reactionary faction, organized labor. Defeat would, however, make economic dynamism even more elusive, punishing the nation without meaningfully disciplining the president.
.
This vote comes in the turgid wake of a first quarter in which the economy shrank 0.7 percent — the third quarterly contraction during the anemic recovery that is slouching into its seventh year. The aging recovery began in June 2009; another recession may arrive without there having been a real recovery from the previous one. For Democrats devoted to policies of redistribution, economic growth is an afterthought. Only Republicans can make possible the freer trade that can combat the lingering stagnation that is Barack nObama’s painful legacy.
.
This month, Republicans can extinguish the Export-Import Bank, a deplorable instrument for government intervention in economic transactions, simply by not reauthorizing it. How perverse it would be to do so while also opposing TPA and (hence, in effect) freer trade, which would make economic activity less subject to distortions by governments.
.
In the 19th century, Republicans embraced a braided duet of vices — big government and crony capitalism. Adept at using tariffs to purchase the loyalty of particular constituencies, Republicans opposed free trade. Twenty-first century Democrats generally want government rather than markets to regulate commerce and allocate opportunity, so they recoil from any enlargement of the sphere of economic freedom. The fact that TPA would make possible the ratification of an agreement that is an imperfect enlargement is no reason for Republicans to help Democrats protect the power of governments to further politicize economic life.
.

Some Republicans are understandably reluctant to give any satisfaction to nObama, who disdains them as much as he does constitutional limits on presidential power. But a stopped clock is right twice a day and he rightly favors freer trade.
.

Some Republicans resist granting fast-track authority, a traditional presidential prerogative, to a president who has so arrogantly disregarded limits on executive discretion. It is, however, unnecessary to defeat fast-track authority (thereby defeating freer trade) in order to restrain this rogue president. The 22nd Amendment guarantees his departure in 19 months. His lawlessness has prompted congressional resistance on multiplying fronts. The judiciary, too, has repeatedly rebuked him for illegal executive overreaches. So, it is neither necessary nor statesmanlike to injure the nation’s future in order to protest nObama’s past.
.

Representative Paul Ryan campaigned hard to prevent a second nObama term, but he strongly favors TPA. He notes that if nObama’s negotiations about Iran’s nuclear program were being conducted under guarantees of congressional involvement similar to those contained in TPA, Congress would enjoy statutorily required briefings on the negotiations and access to the negotiating documents. Furthermore, any agreement with Iran would have to be made public for examination at least 60 days before nObama signed it, after which the agreement could not take effect unless Congress approves it.
.

nObama has all the friends in Congress he has earned and deserves, so even among Democrats this cohort is vanishingly small. By passing TPA, House Republicans can achieve a fine trifecta, demonstrating their ability to rise above their justifiable resentments, underscoring his dependence on them and on Congress, and illustrating his party’s dependence on factions inimical to economic vitality.

House Democrats Doom nObama's Trade Deal
In a vote that served a smackdown on nObama's trade deal with Pacific countries, House Democrats voted against a provision that was supposed to sweeten the legislation allowing nObama the authority to fast track the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The Senate had sent two measures to the House: Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) was the legislation that gave the chief executive authority to negotiate this trade deal, and Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA), a Democrat priority, was legislation that — as the leftists viewed it — protected American workers (read: unions) when the economy experienced freer global trade. On Friday, the House overwhelmingly rejected TAA in a 302-126 vote and narrowly passed TPA 219-211. Both chambers need to agree on the legislation before it heads to nObama's desk. So TPA will head back to the Senate where it may or may not pass; the bill's on life support.
This comes as nObama lobbied hard for the measure to pass. He showed up at the congressional baseball game to personally lobby lawmakers. He even made his way to Capitol Hill to talk to Democrats — the first time in two years. It was personal, it was desperate and, ouch, Pulosi and Co. betrayed him. "Basically, the president tried to both guilt people and then impugned their integrity, and I don't think it was a very effective tactic," said Democrat Rep. Peter Defazio (D-OR). Both parties are split in Congress over the issue. But those who love Liberty should appreciate that we have more time to debate a trade deal.  -The Patriot Post

China's Theft of Federal Employee Data Demands a Response
Not only has China scraped up the data from all federal employees past and present, the Office of Personnel Management said it had "a high degree of confidence" that the country has every SF-86 form submitted by any American seeking a security clearance. Former general council to the NSA and former National Counter terrorism Center head Matthew Olsen said the data could be used many different ways by the oppressive Chinese regime, "whether it's [to] blackmail, to recruit, [or] to punish individuals in China who are connected to people in the United States." As it's been said before, China has been creating a massive database on American citizens, and it has also hacked into the databases of health insurance companies in the past to gather data. Furthermore, anonymous sources are saying the data theft of federal employees didn't just affect four million people. Instead, the breach could affect as many as 14 million Americans. In response to impeding U.S. intelligence efforts, cataloging Americans like merchandise and sitting poised to wreak further havoc on our country, let's hope the U.S. is also matching China's data collection efforts. In this game of espionage, let's make it so China also cannot keep secrets. More...

 June Deadline for 'Islamic Bomb'
As yet another supposed "deadline" approaches for a final agreement with Iran over its nuclear program, the sheer determination of Barack nObama to get any deal he can before he leaves office — literally any deal — becomes more and more the driving force behind our negotiating position.
Having once said "We cannot allow Iran to get a nuclear weapon; it would be a game-changer in the region" and claiming "I will always keep the threat of military action on the table," nObama is now willing to ignore Iranian nuclear violations, ignore Iran's willful violation of UN Security Council resolutions, ignore Iran's role in the Syrian war, ignore Iran's continued arming and equipping of Hezbollah, ignore Iran's defacto control of Iraq, ignore the mortal threat a nuclear Iran would pose to Israel, and ignore the history of the current Iranian regime, all in the hope of getting something on paper with which to declare his foreign policy legacy.
The most recent interim agreement openly ceded to Iran everything it needs to produce nuclear weapons if it will only refrain from open mischief for ten years. Ten years is a blink of an eye to a nation. Consider that just slightly more than ten years ago a previously little-known Illinois senator was delivering the keynote address at the Democrat National Convention in Boston, or that nearly 25 years have passed since the first Gulf War.
With a sense of its own history stretching back nearly 6,000 years, Iran understands how quickly ten years will pass, at which time it can begin industrial-scale enrichment without penalty. Ten years will also produce advances in Iran's ballistic missile program, another subject once linked to the nuclear program but now tossed aside by the White House.  -The Patriot Post

It’s REALLY more like ‘Jeb?’ Than ‘Jeb!’
The biggest disadvantage that Jeb Bush has isn’t his last name, but rather the relative quality of the Republican field he is facing.
That’s not to say that being George W. Bush’s little brother is an unalloyed positive for the former Florida governor. But as polls have shown, it is (no surprise) less of a problem for GOP primary voters than with the general electorate. Plus, Dubya is mellowing in the cask of public opinion, especially as President nObama flails about over Iraq.
The younger Bush obviously understands the liabilities involved with his family name and the basic American resistance to dynasties. Otherwise, he wouldn’t pick a logo that emphasizes a nickname that sounds as if it were ringing across the tennis courts at Andover.
But don’t let them kid you. If you wanted to be president and could choose whether to be the son and brother of presidents or be the son of a small-town preacher or a Miami bartender, you know what you’d pick. Bush was born on third base; everybody else had to hit a triple.
But still, as he launches his official candidacy, Bush is struggling to assert his dominance. Bush is probably a better establishment-backed candidate than either of the two after his brother, and both John McCain and Mitt Romney won by comfortable margins. Yet, this time seems different.
Part of it is technique. While Hilly Clinton has lowered the bar dramatically for forthrightness, accountability and probity, Bush’s decision to invoke his Right to Raise unlimited sums for six months before actually declaring hasn’t exactly set him up to run as the tribune of the people.
But the biggest part is that Bush is facing serious competition. In 2008, Romney had to keep other viable establishmentarians out of the field, particularly then-Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels. Once the field was set, Romney had only one real threat: then Texas Gov. Rick Perry. But Perry was a bust. Everything after was just delaying the inevitable.
This time, Bush has at least two rivals in Gov. Scott Walker, R-Wisc., and Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., whose talents and positions make them real alternatives. Remember, the way the previous two candidates put away the nomination: Mainstream Republicans blanched at the thought of nominating candidates seen, fairly or not, as one-dimensional, social issue grinds.
Neither Walker nor Rubio is that kind of candidate. If either makes it into the home stretch with Bush, the surge is more likely to come for the underdog rather than the current frontrunner. Unless Walker and Rubio succeed in destroying each other and leaving the way open for a riskier pick, Bush will not have the advantage of declaring his final foe electorally toxic.
Jeb Bush is a better candidate in many ways than Romney or McCain were. But unfortunately for him, his chief rivals are furlongs ahead of the 2008 and 2012 pack.  -Fox News

 Is Israel Alone?
(Michael Doran, Elliott Abrams & Charles Krauthammer) ~ The last years have strained the relationship between the United States and the State of Israel. The two nations have serious policy disagreements and the nation’s leaders deeply distrust one another... Is this a true crisis? Is the America-Israel relationship fundamentally changing? Is Israel alone in an increasingly dangerous Middle East? Israelis and American friends of Israel hope that ties of popular affinity, military cooperation, intelligence sharing, and strategic alliance against radical Islamism and terror bind the two states together. For the moment, both of America’s major political parties pledge to stand behind Israel at the United Nations and on the battlefield. Practically all Israelis across the political spectrum believe that strong ties with the United States are important to the survival of the Jewish State. Judging by these lights, at least, one might think that we are going through a bad patch—as Israel has with previous American administrations of both political parties.       http://tikvahfund.org/advanced-institutes/is-israel-alone-the-past-present-and-future-of-the-u-s-israel-relationship/?utm_source=Mosaic+Newsletter&utm_campaign=5caa8050f0-Tikvah_Institutes_Fall_20156_16_2015&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0b0517b2ab-5caa8050f0-42459765

God, Politics, and the Future of Europe
(George Weigel) ~ Europe—for so long the political, cultural, and military center of the world—is in crisis... Various European countries are in the grips of economic calamity, reflecting a mix of unwise policies and cultural exhaustion. Demographic decline is weakening the entire continent. In many European capitals, Islamic radicalism—including violent crime and outright terror—is on the rise, and the return of anti-Semitism is raising questions about Europe’s dark past, and leaving many Jews to wonder whether they need to exit en masse for their own safety and dignity. From Dublin to Athens, from Lisbon to Warsaw, religious observance is down or non-existent, and the spirit of nihilism pervades the land. The problems in Europe seem only more remarkable in light of the European faith in its own post-national experiment—the belief that the centralized administration of the continent would create a new, pacified, welfare-state model for all. But this dream now likes more like the beginnings of a new nightmare.        http://tikvahfund.org/advanced-institutes/god-politics-and-the-future-of-europe/?utm_source=Mosaic+Newsletter&utm_campaign=5caa8050f0-Tikvah_Institutes_Fall_20156_16_2015&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0b0517b2ab-5caa8050f0-42459765

Why the Liberals Can’t Get It
(Dr. Michael Ledeen) ~ I am a big fan of John Hinderaker over at Powerline, and you can see why if you read one of his latest, this one about the Democrats’ lack of any sort of coherent national security policy. Here is the essence of it... Democrats are incapable of devising a coherent strategy for dealing with (our problems), and seemingly don’t even try to do so. The charitable explanation is that they are incompetent. But perhaps it is because they aren’t sure what their desired ends are. Do they want the U.S. to win? Do they want us to be powerful, prosperous, influential and successful? That is not a hard question for most Americans, but it is for leading Democrats like nObama and Clinton. If you don’t know the answer to that question, then coming up with a strategy is tough. That, I suspect, is what we have seen for the last six or seven years. It’s the basic question about the nObama administration (Hinderaker however is focused on Hilly Clinton and her failed Libyan actions): is the long list of foreign policy failures due to stupidity and incompetence, or to some sort of purposeful malevolence?       http://www.aim.org/guest-column/why-the-liberals-cant-get-it/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email061615&utm_medium=email

nObama Prepares More ‘Executive Actions’ On Global Warming
(Michael Bastasch) ~ President Barack nObama is preparing to unleash a series of “executive actions” aimed at boosting the green energy industry as part of the president’s global warming agenda... nObama is launching a “Clean Energy Impact Investment Center” at the Energy Department to “make information about energy and climate programs … accessible and more understandable to the public, including to mission-driven investors.” The White House is also ordering the IRS to come out with guidance and rules to get nonprofits to invest in green energy technologies, along with creating more government financing options for small businesses looking to go green.        http://dailycaller.com/2015/06/16/obama-prepares-more-executive-actions-on-global-warming/

Illegals Who Kill and the President That Loves Them
(ixthisnation.com) ~ According to President nObama and the Democrats, we have nothing to fear from illegal immigrants. Many support turning off our immigration laws altogether and throwing the border wide open... Let any Mexican or South American who wants a home in America to simply ride into the country for a swift path to citizenship. But a new case has shed light on a deportation system that is failing to keep American citizens safe from the bad guys. Government data released Monday shows that 121 illegals who were released back into the community went on to commit “homicide-related” crimes. This data has indicated to many critics that we are not doing enough to pursue deportation for these illegals. The case brings to light the problems regarding the deportation of illegals. Under a 2001 Supreme Court ruling, illegals can only be detained for six months. This puts the administration in a tough spot, especially when the home country will not have the immigrant back. But experts say the majority of these cases have more to do with ICE’s discretionary policies than they do strict time limits on detention.        http://www.fixthisnation.com/conservative-breaking-news/illegals-who-kill-and-the-president-that-loves-them/

Feds Can’t Verify $2.8 Billion in nObamacare Subsidies
(Elizabeth Harrington) ~ The federal government cannot verify nearly $3 billion in subsidies distributed through nObamacare, putting significant taxpayer funding “at risk,” according to a new audit report... The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Inspector General (OIG) released an audit Tuesday finding that the agency did not have an internal system to ensure that subsidies went to the right enrollees, or in the correct amounts. “The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services CMS’s internal controls did not effectively ensure the accuracy of nearly $2.8 billion in aggregate financial assistance payments made to insurance companies under the Affordable Care Act during the first four months that these payments were made,” the OIG said. “CMS’s system of internal controls could not ensure that CMS made correct financial assistance payments,” they said. This smells fishy to me.        http://freebeacon.com/issues/feds-cant-verify-2-8-billion-in-obamacare-subsidies/

Face Reality: Many Muslims Support ISIS
(Tarek Fatah) ~ In the last week of May, the Qatar-based Arabic news network Al-Jazeera polled its Arabic-language audience on the question... "Do you support the victories of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in your region?" The results were shocking. Of the 56,881 Arabic-speaking respondents, a whopping 81% voted yes. The results of this online survey may not be scientific. But they do provide anecdotal evidence of what many see as a rise in the support of Islamism in the Arab Middle East, among Muslims in the Indo-Pakistan subcontinent, and in the diaspora in Britain and France. On Monday, a 17-year-old Briton became that country's youngest suicide bomber after he blew up a brand new SUV packed with explosives in the northern Iraqi town of Baiji. Talha Asmal had Arabized his name to Abu Yusuf al-Britani and is the latest young person used by jihadi Islamists as cannon fodder in their quest to establish an Islamic caliphate. This is laid out in sharia law, as a precursor to the Islamic Armageddon enshrined in Hadith literature, based on Prophet Mohammed's prophesy.       http://www.meforum.org/5331/many-muslims-support-isis

nObama: Muslim Jihadists Can Join American Military To Be Trained
(Theodore Shoebat) ~ The nObama administration has now given an invitation to jihadists to join military forces in the Middle East to be trained by US troops so that they can learn how to fight against Bashar al-Assad. Middle East analyst Robert Olson reports on the story... The administration's assessment that the American people don't care that much about the wars in Iraq and Syria is correct, in spite of hawkish members of Congress who trumpet the need for more "boots on the ground." This situation could quickly change if a Republican were to be elected president. I would not doubt for a moment that these trained jihadists will use their American training against US citizens in America. No doubt these jihadists will kill Christians. nObama is helping create an army that will persecute and slaughter Christians. There is no doubt nObama has done many wrong things and this is one of them.        http://freedomoutpost.com/2015/06/the-obama-administration-declares-that-muslim-jihadists-can-join-american-military-forces-to-be-trained-by-us-soldiers/

Checking China’s military build-up in the South China Sea
(James A. Lyons & Richard Fisher) ~ China intends to ignore the nObama administration’s demand that it halt its military base-building in the South China Sea. It is time for Washington to face a new reality... Either it leads the way to a new “armed peace” in this region, or China will soon commence a war for domination. First, it is important to understand why China will continue to ignore Washington, as it has rebuffed nearly 20 years of regional diplomacy seeking to avoid conflict over this crucial maritime region, now used annually by 40 percent of the world’s merchant ships. Simply put, for China’s Communist Party leadership, control of the South China Sea is essential to protect Hainan Island as a base from which it intends to project global military and space power, and which it views as essential to ensuring the survival of its political dictatorship.       http://www.aim.org/guest-column/checking-chinas-military-build-up-in-the-south-china-sea/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email061715&utm_medium=email

 REPUBLICANS QUIVERING IF OBAMACARE OVERTURNED
(Garth Kant) ~ The congressman’s voice was calm but there was exasperation in his words, and an implicit concern that Republicans were poised to snatch defeat from the jaws of a major victory... Referring to a Supreme Court decision, due any day now, that could effectively overturn nObamacare, U.S. Rep. Raul Labrador, R-Idaho, lamented, “I think there is some fear in some circles in the Republican Party that if this decision goes our way that it’s actually bad for us.” Sounding incredulous, he told reporters on Capitol Hill, “And I’m having a hard time understanding that, because, if it goes our way, then it will be exactly as we’ve been saying: that the way it was passed was wrong, that it was illegal and there might even be some constitutional issues with it.” The dilemma perceived by some in the GOP is, if the Supreme Court does rule in King v. Burwell that the federal health-care exchange was set up illegally, Republicans will get the blame when as many as 6.4 million Americans suddenly have no subsidies to pay for their insurance.     http://www.wnd.com/2015/06/republicans-quivering-if-obamacare-overturned/

(freedomsback.com) ~ It’s increasingly difficult to tell the difference between Teach for America — whose leaders are at the forefront of inflammatory anti-police protests in Baltimore, Ferguson, and now McKinney, Texas — and left-wing activist groups such as Organizing for Action (President nObama’s partisan community organizing army).
.
Guess what, taxpayers? You’re paying for it!
.
Wendy Kopp founded Teach for America in 1989 after writing her Princeton University thesis on the need for a “national teaching corps” of elite college grads who would serve students on short-term stints in low-income neighborhoods. The do-gooder group has exploded into a massive, nonprofit business.
.
“Between 2000 and 2013, ” researchers at the National Educational Policy Center reported, “TFA’s yearly operating expenditures increased 1,930 percent — from $10 million to $193.5 million. Of those expenditures, TFA annual reports show that about a third of operating costs are borne by the public.” Individual TFA chapters have raked in millions in federal AmeriCorps grants, supported by leaders in both political parties. Large corporations (including $100 million donor Wal-Mart), philanthropic foundations, and individuals have pitched in nearly a half-billion dollars in tax-deductible charitable private donations.
.
Teach for America spends copious amounts on advertising, lobbying and public relations to hype its academic benefits, but its record on producing benefits for students is mixed. Government teachers’ unions don’t like the organization’s fast-track “boot camp” training or its support of public charter schools. But those concerns pale in comparison to the divisive, grievance-mongering activities of the group’s increasingly radicalized officials and alumni.
.
TFA’s most infamous public faces don’t even pretend to be interested in students’ academic achievement. It’s all about race, tweets and marching on the streets.
.
In Durham, North Carolina, two Teach for America officials led costly traffic blockades over the Ferguson, Missouri, shooting last December. North Carolina blogger A.P. Dillon identified protester Rachel Schankula as a TFA executive coach and program director dating back to 2001. Protester Robert Terrell Stephens, cited by police for attempting to incite a riot, is currently TFA’s director of alumni teacher leadership and also served as a community organizer for nObama for America.
.
Deray McKesson, described by TFA as a “protestor,” is a finalist for the organization’s $10,000 Peter Jennings Award for Civic Leadership, which will be announced next month. He briefly taught sixth-grade math for the program before graduating to full-time racial rabble-rousing.
.
A gushing New York Times reporter credited McKesson and his social justice warrior partners with building “the most formidable American protest movement of the 21st century to date.” He uses Twitter to jump the gun on every police-related shooting across the country. He fanned the flames over the bogus “NAACP bombing” in Colorado Springs. This week, McKesson scurried to McKinney, Texas, along with the National of Islam, New Black Panther Party, and assorted rent-a-mob professionals, to turn a pool party fight into an international incident.
.
“We are currently at the McKinney Police Department, occupying space,” he breathlessly reported. One of his fellow peace-loving instigators at the rally thundered: “We’re setting the stage for a terrorist attack in this country, and the group is not going to be ISIS.”
.
Another fellow TFA traveler is Brittany Packnett, the executive director of St. Louis’s Teach for America chapter. She’s also a finalist for the group’s Peter Jennings Award and a McKesson ally. They published a Ferguson newsletter together, distributing it to activists around the country — and inside the Justice Department. Her Twitter profile shows her making the debunked “Hands up, don’t shoot” gesture in front of a line of police officers. Credited with putting the “#BlackLivesMatter” Twitter hashtag on the map, the 29-year-old St. Louis-area activist was tapped by President nObama to join his federal policing commission.
.
Packnett briefly taught third grade as a TFA instructor in Washington, D.C., before diving into political organizing to represent “our collective truth” and promote “the urgency of now.”
.
Packnett pointedly praises “the fact that TFA has consistently had my back” in her quest for “disruptive change and systemic change.” She bragged that TFA co-CEO Matt Kramer accompanied her to protests in St. Louis. Another proud moment for TFA’s St. Louis leader: Her conversion of a 25-year-friend who went from having actual jobs as a pharmacy technician and furniture store employee to becoming a “field organizer for the Organization for Black Struggle.”
.
Teach for America has transformed itself into a recruiting center for militants bent on occupying themselves with anything other than imparting knowledge and academic excellence to children in the classroom. When a government-funded outfit abandons education as its mission in favor of social agitation, it’s time to cut off the taxpayer pipeline

The United Nations is apparently now writing “climate change” encyclicals for the Vatican. On Monday, an Italian magazine leaked a draft copy of Pope Francis' 191-page address on the topic. Taking a page from the Left’s playbook, the pope insists that curbing global warming is a moral imperative. “Humanity is called on to be aware of the need to change lifestyles, production and consumption,” he says, because the world is filled with a “culture of waste.” We are all for using energy judiciously and curbing waste, but not under the pretense of a UN-Vatican mandate. The encyclical coincides with Obama’s announcement this week of his plans for more climate “executive actions” in order to bypass Congress. Like Obama, the Pope has long advocated for liberation theology, a doctrine similar to that propagated by Obama’s religious mentor, Jeremiah Wright, and other Marxist promoters of “social justice.” Many Catholics in the U.S. take strong exception to the pope acting as a water boy for the UN. Big-government statists at the UN welcome the pope’s statement, as it may assist with the UN’s global climate treaty negotiations at the upcoming Paris summit — a treaty which would be more accurately called a “global economic control” treaty. Obama insists, “If I can encourage and gain commitments from the Chinese to put forward a serious plan to start curbing their greenhouse gases, that then allows us to leverage the entire world.” However, Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) made clear that neither he nor his Republican colleagues are drinking Obama’s Kool-Aid: “The Senate is not going to ratify any international climate treaty that continues this trend [centralizing the global economy].”

Obama May Fundamentally Transform Economy

The Obama administration claims that the money dropping into the U.S. debt hole has declined. Jobs are up. The economy is coming back. (Y'know, except for those pesky winters.) But the reports are coming in that counter the administration’s propaganda. First, the Congressional Budget Office issued a report Tuesday claiming that, if left unchecked, the U.S. debt will become much, much worse. “The long-term outlook for the federal budget has worsened dramatically over the past several years, in the wake of the 2007-2009 recession and slow recovery,” the CBO said in its report. The debt could double by 2040 if left unchecked. It’s a massive problem, almost too large for any politician in Washington to recognize, but one that will affect the economic vitality of the nation far into the future. Part of the problem is that entitlement spending is going to increase as the baby boomer generation heads into retirement. As for the generation that’s supposed to keep entitlement spending going, millennials have entered the job market at the lowest part of the recession. According to statistics blog Five Thirty Eight, that generation holds more personal debt, makes less money and owns fewer and less expensive homes. Furthermore, because millennials entered the job market in a tough economic time, they will make less money over the course of their careers. Thank to his administration’s shenanigans, Barack Obama could have the legacy of fundamentally transforming the American economy.

Hillary, The Miser

In 2014, Hillary Clinton spoke at a Boys and Girls Club fundraiser. Like most of the “dead broke” politician’s speeches, this one was for a fee: $200,000. Usually, a speaker appearing at a nonprofit will charge a fee and then donate it back, especially if it’s a smaller organization. That’s what Condoleezza Rice did when she spoke at the Boys and Girls Club in 2009. But not Clinton. She turned around and deposited the check into the Clinton Foundation. Politico reports, “[F]undraising experts and people affiliated with some nonprofits on the list — including the Boys and Girls Club — grumbled that the hefty price tag for securing a Clinton speech is a significant drain on small charities' fundraising and that community-based nonprofits could put the money to better use.” Furthermore, Clinton’s campaign is running off the work of full-time interns who work for free. The Guardian reports that the people taking these jobs are seasoned politicos who wish to enter Clinton’s good graces. How can she talk about a bad economy and a wage gap when she doesn’t take care of the people working to get her elected? Remember, this is the same Hillary Clinton that said, “I don’t think Americans are against success, I think they’re against people who get on top of the ladder and starts pulling it up so that nobody else has the same chance that they had. … Those of us who do have opportunities how to be doing more to help other people do the same.”

A Short History of the Trans Fats Witch Hunt

By Jim Harrington

2015-06-17-e14fe79c_large.jpg

In the year 1975, a mother was likely to give her children a snack with trans fats in it. Those fats were considered healthier, the benefits of nutritional innovation. Fast-forward 40 years and America considers trans fats a pariah and a substance that directly leads to heart disease.

Last week Mommy Government decided that no level of trans fat is healthful in the American diet. It therefore completely banned the substance by 2018 so that you’ll have one less danger stalking you.

In banning a certain ingredient from food, the government assumes too much responsibility over Americans' lives. David Harsanyi points out that the government’s justification that the ban prevents heart disease could justify a battery of food bans — including on alcohol and cigarettes. Instead, big-government social engineering must decide what we consume — even if its groupthink may be wrong.

Trans fats can be found in fried foods, margarine and commercial baked goods. They aremanufactured fats that take saturated fats and stabilize the substance through a process called hydrogenation.

Trans fats were initially developed in Germany and later went into large-scale production in England. In 1909, Proctor and Gamble bought the rights for the U.S. market, and their first product, a partly hydrogenated cottonseed oil used as shortening, was named Crisco.

Products using trans fats quickly became popular. During World War II, when dairy products were scarce, margarine took the place of butter. Trans fats also found uses as preservatives and for improving products' texture. In the 1960s the government and scientists both recommended using them in food preparation rather than saturated fats such as lard and butter. Of course, cigarettes were being advertised as a boon to your health, too.

The Atlantic points out, “A 1961 Time magazine article that railed against the dangers of saturated fat (found in meat and dairy products), and … consumers began to view margarine and shortening as healthier alternatives.”

“In the 1980s,” the Atlantic continues, “some scientists began to associate heart disease with saturated fats, and in response, groups such as the Center for Science in the Public Interest and the National Heart Savers Association … began to hound manufacturers [to stop] poisoning America … by using saturated fats… In 1990, a New York Times food writer said CSPI’s campaign prompted fast-food chains to ‘slim down’ by switching to frying in shortening.”

Activists got their wish. Low fat became de rigeaur in restaurants and among “health-conscious” people. Fat was out. Chicken breast was in. And those of us who revel in our Royale with cheese and a good donut or two have become politically incorrect.

But a funny thing happened. In the late 1980s, just as Al Gore was warming up, scientific “consensus” began to shift away from trans fats. A decade later, healthy food activists were saying the fats contributed to clogged arteries. Indeed, they may be a more insidious threat than saturated fats, they said.

Ironically, as The Atlantic reported, Center for Science in the Public Interest, the organization that initially lobbied for the wide use of trans fats, turned around and told the FDA to add warning labels to any food that contained them. In 2006, the FDA required companies to label their products with the quantity of trans fats they contain and include a warning that no amount of trans fat is safe. Enjoy your meal.

This comes at a time when the average consumption of trans fats has dropped 80% in the last decade. The FDA was issuing its warnings, and people were making their own decisions about their diets.

Large food companies have already started to make the switch to other kinds of oils, but smaller businesses likely still have a stock of trans fat products. With rent, wages, taxes and now additional regulation, it doesn’t make sense to get rid of them any sooner than necessary.

Once again we see the absurd spectacle of a government treating its citizens like infants. Not only are we regulated beyond absurdity, the rules also change every generation or so. Who are these people who spend their careers writing these preposterous warnings for the “children” who work at real jobs and pay their salaries?

Adding injury to insult, now that time has passed in which “grave damage” has been visited upon millions of victims of trans fats by manufacturers that knew all along they were poison, the wolves are coming out of the woods. Personal injury lawyers are lining up to go after the deep and not so deep pockets of firms that produced an entirely legal product.

As long as the government is allowed to treat citizens as infants — a situation with which far too many are comfortable — regulations will continue getting more ridiculous and more expensive for everyone. Is it too much to tell the government to start treating Americans like a group of adults?

OPINION IN BRIEF

Ben Shapiro: “[W]hat distinguishes [Bruce] Jenner from [Rachel] Dolezal? On what basis can we reject Dolezal’s blackness, given that the left has now redefined objective reality as self-definition? If you want to be a woman, you are a woman. If you want to be black, why can’t you be black? … By the left’s standards, Rachel Dolezal is black. She can choose her race, just as Bruce Jenner can choose his sex. And she didn’t choose. She always felt that way. After all, no one would choose to be black, just as no one would choose to be gay — blacks are so put upon in American society that no one would fake being black for, say, the benefits of employment or mainstream leftist celebration. Perhaps we can all learn from Rachel Dolezal: Race doesn’t matter. Except that it does for people like Rachel Dolezal, which is why she went black. Rachel Dolezal is a poster child for the deconstructionist, victim-manufacturing left. But now she’s learning: Once you go black, the left will make you go back.”

SHORT CUTS

Insight: “If it was necessary to tolerate in other people everything that one permits oneself, life would be unbearable.” —French novelist Georges Courteline (1858-1929)

Upright: “[Rachel Dolezal] actually said when explaining her deceptions, her lies, her constructions, her inventions, her delusions, ‘I hope that [my story] can drive at the core of the definitions of race, ethnicity, culture, self-determination, and ultimately empowerment.’ Is there a cliché from the marxist lexicon of identity politics that she has not used? … This is oppression envy. I can’t quite figure out if this is psychopathological deception on her part, or has she actually shifted over into delusion?” —Charles Krauthammer

The BIG Lie: “I’ll be honest with you. With all the crises we were dealing with … [technology and IT] did not get the kind of laser-focused attention until Healthcare.gov, which was a well-documented disaster, but ended up anyways being the catalyst for us saying, ‘Okay, we have to completely revamp how we do things.’ The results there were so outstanding.” —Barack Obama

Non Compos Mentis: “The records of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, of cleaning up the messes they inherited, is something that speaks to Democratic values. Both my husband and President Obama created more opportunity coming from a lower base, because they believe, fundamentally, that real and lasting prosperity must be built by all and shared by all.” —Hillary Clinton

Village Idiots: “We are rolling out major policy proposals over the summer/fall. Among those proposals will be revenue enhancements.” —Hillary Clinton’s press secretary Brian Fallon (“Of course, ‘revenue enhancements’ is code for tax hikes. During the Bill Clinton administration, another code word for this was ‘broad-based contributions.’” —Washington Examiner’s Jason Russell)

Braying Jackass: “The Supreme Court shouldn’t have taken up [ObamaCare]. … I think the language is clear. I hope the Supreme Court can read English.” —Harry Reid

Late-night humor: “It was a beautiful weekend in New York. This is how nice the weather was: I went outside without sunscreen for about an hour, and I was elected to run the Spokane NAACP.” —Seth Meyers

-Fox News

Clinton Camp Blocks Daily Mail Reporter From NH Events
(nicedeb.wordpress.com) ~ A Daily Mail reporter with an eye for Clinton campaign plants was persona non-grata at some campaign events in New Hampshire, Monday... David Martosko broke a story back in April exposing an “unscripted” Clinton campaign event in Iowa that turned out to be heavily choreographed with Democrat activists. Driving through New Hampshire in the rain without knowing where you’re headed is an unnerving experience, but that’s where I found myself this morning after Hilly Clinton’s staff said I wouldn’t be allowed to do my job reporting on her campaign.

 LEFTISTS' OPEN SEASON ON CHRISTIANS
(David Limbaugh) ~ If you doubt that Christians are fair game for ridicule by the cultural left, take a look at the hit piece on Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia by Jeffrey Tayler for Salon... I can’t decide which is worse, the title or the subtitle. The title: “Antonin Scalia is unfit to serve: A justice who rejects science and the law for religion is of unsound mind.” The subtitle: “The justice claims to be an originalist, but his real loyalty is to religion and a phony man in the sky.” The writer is trying to be cute, but don’t conclude that any part of his thesis is intended to be tongue-in-cheek. He opens by telling us that “faith-derangement syndrome” has now infected the Supreme Court as it has the executive branch.       http://www.wnd.com/2015/06/leftists-open-season-on-christians/

CLINTONS 'COULD ENRON MAJOR ACCOUNTING FIRM'
(Jerome R. Corsi) ~ A respected Wall Street analyst who has been investigating the Clinton Foundation’s finances alleges the “Big Four” accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers was a willing participant in a scheme by the Clintons and their associates to become personally enriched by the foundation, a crime known as inurement... Charles Ortel, a frequent guest on Bloomberg television and a contributor to the Washington Times and others, says in a draft report that he found “the PWC accounting work product for 2013 is riddled with uncorrected errors and falsehoods” as well as procedural defects so severe he has raised the possibility “the Clinton Foundation might be PWC’s Enron.” PricewaterhouseCoopers has not replied to numerous requests from WND, by email and by telephone, to comment.  Congressman Slams nObama's Syrian Refugee Program
(Leo Hohmann) ~ A Texas congressman who chairs the House Homeland Security Committee is calling on President nObama to abandon his plan to resettle thousands of Syrians displaced by that country’s civil war, saying the plan is “very dangerous” for America’s security... The problem is that ISIS has already said it will infiltrate the ranks of the refugees being sent by the United Nations to various Western countries, said Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas. McCaul wrote a letter to President nObama Thursday expressing concerns over the administration’s announced plans to resettle some 2,000 Syrian refugees in the United States this year.  The Most Inexcusable Crime in the Muslim World
(Uzay Bulut) ~ Violence and intolerance envelop the Muslim world. People who commit barbaric acts -- slaughtering Christians, Jews, Muslims and Hindus, almost anyone -- say they are merely upholding Islamic sharia law against "blasphemy," apostasy and "unbelievers."... These Islamic extremists daily take those laws in their own hands, murdering anyone who wants to think freely or differently. Every day, arrests, trials, floggings, torture and the murder of journalists, poets, students and human rights activists are a routine practice. In 2013, a Pakistani Professor of English, Junaid Hafeez, was arrested and jailed on blasphemy charges after a student affiliated with the Jamaat-i-Islami party accused him of insulting Muhammad, the founder of Islam, on Facebook. His original lawyer, Chaudhry Mudassar, left the case in June 2013 after facing a multitude of death threats. His second lawyer, Rashid Rehman, was shot dead in his office in front of his colleagues on May 7, 2014. His current lawyer, Shahbaz Gurmani, has received death threats, including guns fired outside his house, and a letter from the Islamic State (ISIS), warning him against pursuing the case, and stating that he will be beheaded unless he stops. Junaid Hafeez remains in jail.       http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/5966/crime-muslim-world

Sen. Corker Blasts nObama's "Breathtaking" Concessions To IRAN
(Jeff Dunetz) ~ Senator Bob Corker, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee sent the President a letter Monday that warned the administration is on a dangerous path toward a deal that would let Iran continue its nuclear program... that the President has caved on too many of his own goals for stopping Iran’s nuclear program, and said if Iran pushes for more concessions related to transparency, President nObama should  have the courage to "please pause and consider rethinking the entire approach." Corker is specifically worried by reports that nObama is about to make another concession, one that would allow Iran avoid having to admit having certain nuclear capabilities, and instead allowing the International Atomic Energy Agency made determinations about these capabilities without any confirmation from Iran. Corker said that if this concession has been offered, it would be a mistake. The senator said it was “breathtaking” to see how much ground Mr. nObama and his fellow negotiating partners have given to Iran in the talks.        http://yidwithlid.blogspot.com/2015/06/senator-corker-blasts-obamas.html?utm_source=The+Lid+List&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=eebd69b8d9-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_term=0_597b72c01c-eebd69b8d9-291705165&goal=0_597b72c01c-eebd69b8d9-291705165

Would the prez threaten to veto much-needed additional defense?
(Jim Talent) ~ A showdown is looming in Washington over the National Defense Authorization bill and the Appropriations bill for the Department of Defense. At stake is whether the Congress is able to make any progress this year on repairing the damage which defense cuts have done to the armed forces and the nation’s security... The Budget Control Act of 2011, also known as sequestration, had the effect of cutting a trillion dollars from the ten-year budget plan which secretary of defense Bob Gates recommended before he left office in 2011. Coming on the heels of a decade of hard fighting and chronic underfunding of the military’s capital accounts, the sequester is a disaster in progress. It has resulted in severe shortfalls in day-to-day readiness across the services, and if continued, will make it nearly impossible in the future to restore readiness, maintain personnel end strength at an adequate level, or recapitalize the armed forces. The sequester is particularly irresponsible given the growing threats around the world and the Chinese military buildup; for that reason, the sequester was unanimously condemned by the National Defense Panel in its report last year.       http://www.aei.org/publication/why-would-the-president-threaten-to-veto-much-needed-additional-defense-funds/?utm_source=paramount&utm_medium=email&utm_content=AEITODAY&utm_campaign=061615

Why Do People Become Islamic Extremists?   (Bradford Thomas) ~ In a new Prager University video, Haroon Ullah, a senior State Department advisor and field researcher in South Asia and the Middle East, debunks the two most prominent explanations for why people are susceptible to terrorism: poverty and ignorance... Though the left continually points to lack of resources and education as the central cause of the rise of Islamic terrorism in the Middle East, Ullah said after living in Pakistan he found those two rationales to be demonstrably false. In Pakistan, he explains, he found "something much different than I expected. Poverty had little to do with who became an extremist; lack of education even less." He found, instead, that many terrorists come from middle class families and have college educations. The draw to radicalism was not one of economic desperation or susceptibility due to a lack of education, it was a longing "for meaning and for order," a desire for "change" in "the old corrupt order," and a sense of "victimhood":       http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/middle-east-expert-debunks-poverty-and-ignorance-excuse-radicalism

Green Policies Kill Military Readiness and Vets
(Cliff Kincaid) ~ As the world waits for the pope’s climate change encyclical, new attention has been focused on how the nObama administration’s green energy policies are undermining U.S. military readiness and diverting resources from caring for America’s veterans... We reported recently that the nObama administration didn’t have time to develop a strategy to fight against global Islamic terrorism because it was too busy putting homosexuals into the Armed Forces and celebrating gay pride. In fact, there was something else on the agenda that nObama had ordered the military to handle that had assumed more importance than global terrorism—climate change. On May 20, in his remarks to the United States Coast Guard Academy commencement, nObama actually told the Coast Guard grads that “It is a dereliction of duty” for them to ignore this alleged problem.       http://www.aim.org/aim-column/green-policies-kill-military-readiness-and-vets/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email061615&utm_medium=email

No Strategy. No Clue

.
(factsnotfantasy.blogspot.com) ~ The Wednesday, June 10 Wall Street Journal headline at the top of the page was “nObama Set to Expand Troops in Iraq.” We were 589 days into the two terms Barack Hussein nObama has served in the office of President of the United States and he is as clueless now as he was when he arrived on January 20, 2009.
.
“President Barack nObama is poised to send hundreds more American advisers to a new base in a strategic Iraqi region to help devise a counterattack against marauding Islamic State militants, U.S. officials said Tuesday, a shift that underscores American concern over recent battlefield losses.” It’s 450 “trainers.”
.
We have had losses because (1) nObama was elected on a promise to end the conflict in Iraq and (2) reelected by pulling out troops to the point that the remaining Iraqi troops—Shiites in the south—decided it wasn’t worth dying for their leaders. Can’t say I blame them, but dying at the hands of ninth century Islamic fanatics is the fate that threatens the entire Middle East, not just Iraq or what’s left of it.
.
This is how we lost the war in Vietnam. There was a time when Americans utterly destroyed their enemies on the battlefield. In the latter half of the last century, starting in Korea, we forgot how to do that and why that’s how wars are won.
.
In all candor, like a lot of Americans, I went back and forth about the Mideast conflicts. Looking back, I think George H.W. Bush showed remarkable insight when, after driving Iraq’s Saddam Hussein out of Kuwait, he stopped at the border and came home. George W. had the notion he could somehow introduce democracy to the region. He couldn’t and it will likely never really occur there because Islam is the only law and it has kept the region ignorant, backward, and under the thumb of tyrants for centuries.
.
The Islamic State troops must be stopped at some point, but nObama is not the President who will do it. Whatever U.S. backed combat occurs will be just enough to present enough television news images to convince the gullible that progress is being made.
.
nObama arrived in office without any strategy and has spent the last six and a half years “muddling through” as the British say. He and the Democratic Party had only one goal; to win the elections. After that, they wanted to “fundamentally transform” the greatest nation on planet Earth. They have largely made a mess out of everything they touched from nObamaCare to Common Core.
.
There’s a reason why nObama will send more troops and that’s because every one of our allies has told him that, if the U.S. does not again assert its role of global leadership, they are not going to cooperate with him in a thousand different ways.
.
Our allies in the Mideast have told him they lack the military strength (and will) to conduct any kind of war with ISIS. The U.S. and much of the rest of the world cannot afford to sit by and let the enormous oil wealth and reserves of the Mideast come under the control of ISIS.
.
So, once again we read headlines about U.S. troops returning to the Mideast.
.
What that means is that the 2016 elections are more critical to the future of the nation than all previous ones.
.
I think Americans, liberals, conservatives and independents alike have had more than enough of President No Strategy. I think there are enough older Americans who remember and take pride in a nation that was unabashedly the world’s leader in the pursuit of peace and democracy. And I think that the thirty percent or so of brain-dead liberals are not sufficient to affect the outcome of a 2016 election devoted to restoring the nation’s economy and leadership.
.
It can be done. John F. Kennedy was on his way to doing so. Reagan did so. In 590 days from now, we can begin to do so again.

UK college student who made sign “Islam Will Dominate the World” faces jail for trying to join the Islamic State

How many more young men like him are in Sharia Britannia? I know, I know: it’s “Islamophobic” and “bigoted” to ask. UK Death Watch Update: “College student faces jail for trying to run off to join Isil,” by Tom Whitehead, Telegraph, June 17, 2015 (thanks to Anne Crockett): A college student who made a poster […]

Munther Omar Saleh

Muslim student arrested for Islamic State NYC jihad mass murder plot

Saleh “denied sympathizing with Islamic State and granted them permission to examine his computer, authorities said. Investigators found the computer contained Islamic State propaganda, according to court filings.” War is deceit, as Muhammad said. In any case, the glib dismissal by Western authorities of the Islamic State as having nothing to do with Islam fails […]

UK Muslim family believed to have fled to Syria very devout, held Qur’an classes

This is a strange story. The husbands have appealed to their wives to come home, but the wives and children appear to be headed for the Islamic State. They were known for their devoutness in Islam while in Britain, holding Qur’an classes and spreading Islamic material on the Internet — not that this has anything […]

Abdul-Malik-Abdul-Kareem

Third Muslim arrested in jihad attack on AFDI Garland free speech event

“The indictment indicates that Kareem took the shooters — Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi — to practice shooting and gave them assault rifles.” Clearly this was planned for a considerable time, and these jihad murderers are likely to have chosen a soft target. “Third Man Arrested in Garland ‘Draw Muhammad’ Shooting: Authorities,” by Todd L. Iran: Pastor “viciously beaten” in prison, told only way out is to deny Christ

Prison dawah, Islamic style. Now imagine if a Muslim imam were incarcerated in Greece, an Orthodox Christian nation, and Christian inmates were savagely beating him in order to force him to convert to Christianity. Wouldn’t the Western media take notice then? Pastor Saeed is one of the great Christian confessors of our time. His wife, Naghmeh […]

AbdulKareemSuperBowl

Muslim charged in AFDI free speech event attack eyed Super Bowl jihad attack

The Super Bowl must have provoked him. Outrageous! It should be canceled immediately! After all, we were told endlessly after the jihad attack on our free speech event in Garland that we shouldn’t have provoked the poor jihad murderers, right? If we hadn’t shown drawings of Muhammad, they would have remained peaceful, moderate, loyal American […]

Kurdistan: A Summary

How strange it is that the American government continues to regard as a desideratum the survival of the state of Iraq. Why? Modern Iraq, it needs to be repeated, was concocted out of the three Ottoman vilayets of Mosul, Baghdad, and Basra. Kurds and Arabs and Assyrians were in the vilayet of Mosul, the Sunni […]

UK: Word “Muslim” associated more with terrorism than anything else

People in Britain associate Muslims with terrorism because of Islamic terrorism, and not for any other reason, but predictably, the results of this survey are already being spun as the result of “Islamophobia.” Islamic Relief’s Jehangir Malik whined: “The results of this poll are extremely worrying because they show that public attitudes towards Muslims are […]

Israeli police

Islamic Jihad member arrested on suspicion of running over 3 Israelis

There has been a spate of such attacks in Jerusalem and elsewhere lately — and a billboard in Nazareth calling for them, but of course only AFDI billboards and advertisements are offensive. Last October the Islamic State issued this call to Muslims in the West: “If you are not able to find an IED [improvised […]

Free For All – U.N. Helps Distribute Controversial ID Cards – Illegal Aliens

Illegal aliens get free NYC resident ID cards with special privileges courtesy of Mayor Bill de Blasio. Some of the perks that they get are discounts on prescription drugs, free admission into NYC’s museums, and more. The disturbing part of all of this is that NYC cops must accept this as a legitimate ID from anyone who presents this card, because they are issued by the government. We all know that these cards can get into the hands of illegal aliens who are unscrupulous or have hard-core criminal records! There is also a very limited requirement of verification of who the person is that’s applying for a card. It’s pretty much a free for all. A spokesperson from Judicial Watch explains what this means and what could happen as a result. And of course, there’s the issue of voter ID fraud!
