In the past, Jack Nicholson called Castro a “genius” and Cuba under Castro, “a paradise.”

Chevy Chase said that Cuba is proof that, “sometimes socialism works.”

Paul Albaugh: The Democratic National Committee is looking to fill a void in party leadership. By all indications, the next person to lead the Party will be more extreme than the former chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz. While that may be hard for most conservatives to fathom, what has become clear thus far is that Democrat elites learned absolutely nothing from this past election.

We've already reported that Minnesota Representative Keith Ellison launched a campaign to be the next DNC chief. Ellison is a radical racist with Islamic roots and has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. The fact that he is even being considered to lead the Democrat Party is outright appalling, though somehow not surprising.

Equally appalling is another individual well known amongst Democrat supporters. Ilyse Hogue has taken steps toward jumping into the race for DNC chair by laying out her vision for the direction she thinks the party needs to go. Hogue is but another extremist — albeit on a different front. She is the current president of the rabidly pro-abortion group NARAL, which, as of 2003, is allegedly no longer an acronym for the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League. As NARAL's leader, Hogue is one of leading voices for supporting Planned Parenthood, which the GOP would like to defund, and abolishing the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits direct taxpayer funding of abortion.

(Don't think for a minute that funding Planned Parenthood to the tune of half a billion a year isn't paying for some abortions.)

A recent email Hogue sent to DNC members indicates how she might lead the party: "The DNC can be not just a force every two years at election time, but also a daily presence in peoples' lives, relevant in policy discussions and responsive to ideas and concerns of people where they live." Sounds genuine, sincere and speaks to those she intends to serve right?

All except for her last phrase, which doesn't apply to a baby living in a mother's womb. In her view, there are no concerns for the unborn baby. liar-Hillary Clinton espoused such views during the campaign, and it's about as radical as you can get. Which is exactly why this woman is another potential candidate to lead the Democrat Party.

If Hogue is selected, then it will mean that abortion on demand will be reinforced as a central plank of the Party as it moves to achieve its progressive goals. Democrats long ago took up abortion as an issue, especially by the 1970s. But the parties have become more polarized since then. The Democrat mantra was long "safe, legal and rare," but it has since transitioned to a full embrace of abortion to be "federally funded and ubiquitous." There's just about no such thing any more as a pro-life Democrat.

Hogue's radical views on abortion also indicate just how out of touch the Democrat Party is. According to a recent poll, the American public is becoming less supportive of abortion. The poll revealed that almost two-thirds of Americans support legislation that restricts abortions beyond 20 weeks of pregnancy. In addition, a Knights of Columbus/Marist poll from this summer shows that 78% of Americans support significant restrictions on abortion, including limiting it to the first trimester.

Meanwhile, for a party that operates under the banner of "Black Lives Matter," it's worth noting that, as CNS News reports, "Although black Americans make up 13.3% of the U.S. population, they comprised 35% of the total abortions 'reported' — 128,682 babies killed — in 2013." It could be higher, because many states don't report race, and some don't report abortions at all.

Yet Democrat Party leadership appears to be hearing none of this. While the DNC might be considering an abortion advocate to lead their party, there is some good news, which again reveals how little Democrats pay attention to cultural shifts. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were 664,435 abortions in the U.S. in 2013. While that number is extremely high, the data shows a trending decline — the rate has fallen by more than 40% since 1980. That is good news for conservatives and pro-life advocacy groups who have pushed for educating mothers to choose alternatives to abortion. It appears that more people are appreciating and valuing life. And it's great news for the lives that have been saved.

Hogue would be a very bad choice to head the DNC. Perhaps the party will choose someone who is less extreme. But until the party leadership recognizes that there is a slow cultural shift taking place that values Life and Liberty, we can expect to see more of the same extreme positions and more extreme people to lead their party. ~The Patriot Post

{aim.org} ~ Since The New York Times seems preoccupied with the concept of “fake news,” the death of Communist dictator Fidel Castro provides an ideal opportunity to go back in time and examine how the Times helped bring this tyrant to power through lies and deceit. Castro hated America and Americans, especially President John F. Kennedy. He hosted Soviet nuclear missiles that targeted the U.S. for destruction and sparked the Cuban missile crisis.

Strangely, President Barack liar-nObama has shown callous indifference to the anti-communism that used to dominate the national Democratic Party, and seems oblivious to the evidence that Castro was involved in the assassination of President Kennedy, a Democratic Party icon. “History will record and judge the enormous impact of this singular figure on the people and world around him,” said liar-nObama’s statement about the death of the dictator.

More “fake news” from the liberal media has consisted of whitewashing or ignoring Castro’s sponsorship of terrorism inside the United States, through such groups as the Weather Underground, the Black Liberation Army, and the Puerto Rican FALN, as well as the substantial evidence about his role in the Kennedy assassination. Castro not only had foreknowledge of the plot to kill JFK but was actually behind it, most likely with Soviet backing.

The Cuban-backed FALN claimed responsibility for over 140 bombings in the U.S. FALN terrorist leader William Morales and Black Liberation Army cop-killer Joanne Chesimard are still being protected in Cuba by the Castro regime. Joe Connor, whose father was murdered by the FALN Puerto Rican terrorist group, notes that President liar-nObama’s first Attorney General, Eric Holder, offered executive clemency to 16 FALN terrorists when he served in the Bill liar-Clinton administration as deputy attorney general. President liar-Clinton also pardoned two members of the Cuban-backed communist terrorist Weather Underground: Susan Rosenberg and Linda Evans.

A U.S.-based group called the Venceremos Brigade was run by the Cuban intelligence service, the DGI, and included several members of the Weather Underground. Young people on the trips were indoctrinated in the communist philosophy, given terrorist training in Cuba, and advised by Soviet and Cuban intelligence agents.

The Weather Underground was responsible for more than 30 bombings in the 1970s, many of them directed at police and police stations. Terrorist leaders Bill Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, who helped launch liar-nObama’s political career in Chicago, still have not been prosecuted for their alleged roles in the 1970 bombing murder of San Francisco Police Sergeant Brian V. McDonnell. A bomb filled with heavy metal staples exploded at the police station and ripped through his body. He was in the hospital for two days, bleeding from his wounds, before he finally died.

In our column, “Why the Communists Killed Kennedy,” we examined the evidence of the Castro role in the murder of JFK. The Soviet KGB also had a role, through meetings with JFK assassin Lee Harvey Oswald in Mexico and his defection to Soviet Russia. They then tried to mask their involvement through a disinformation campaign called “Dragon Operation,” an effort to shift blame for Kennedy’s murder away from the communists.

The Cubans wanted Kennedy dead because he had opposed the Cuban revolution, tried to overthrow Castro, and tried to have Castro assassinated. In his last prepared speech before his death, Kennedy declared that he was determined to stop communism’s advance around the world by making the U.S. into the strongest military power on earth.

Former CIA officer Brian Latell’s book, Castro’s Secrets, discloses intelligence information that Castro knew that Oswald was going to kill President Kennedy. A former Marine turned Marxist, Oswald was a member of the pro-Castro Fair Play for Cuba Committee.

We’ve noted in the past that Humberto Fontova’s book, Fidel: Hollywood’s Favorite Tyrant, explains how Herbert Matthews, the Times correspondent in Cuba at that time, brought Castro to power. “This is not a Communist revolution in any sense of the word,” Matthews wrote in 1959. “In Cuba there are no Communists in positions of control.” Matthews added, “Fidel Castro is not only not a Communist, he’s decidedly anti-Communist.” But in a national broadcast on December 2, 1962, Castro declared, “I am a Marxist-Leninist and will be one until the day I die.”

President Kennedy’s widow, Jackie, had singled out The New York Times for criticism for helping bring Castro to power. Her views were documented in the book Jacqueline Kennedy: Historic Conversations on Life with John F. Kennedy. She cited Ambassador Earl E.T. Smith’s book, The Fourth Floor, on how the U.S. State Department had paved the way for Castro’s takeover. The title is a reference to the officials responsible for Cuba policy who were on the fourth floor of the State Department. Smith argued that Assistant Secretary of State Roy Rubottom, and his associate William Wieland, had to be aware of Fidel Castro’s communist affiliations. Wieland was the State Department’s chief of Caribbean affairs and a friend of Herbert Matthews.

Accuracy in Media (AIM) founder and chairman Reed Irvine noted, “It was Matthews who built up Fidel Castro and is often credited with having made his takeover of Cuba possible. Matthews was never identified as a Soviet agent, but there is no doubt that his work was of great value to the Soviets, whether he was a dupe or an agent.”

At a 1979 AIM conference, Ambassador Smith explained how The New York Times had rescued Castro from obscurity and how Matthews had likened him to Abraham Lincoln.

Demonstrating that he has not abandoned the Marxist ideology he adopted as a young KGB officer, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a statement saying that Castro was a “remarkable statesman” and that Cuba had “become an influential member of the international community and serves as an inspiring example for many countries and peoples.” Putin added, “Fidel Castro was a sincere and reliable friend of Russia. He made a tremendous personal contribution to the establishment and progress of Russian-Cuban relations, close strategic partnership in all areas.”

That relationship, according to the evidence in such books as Communism, the Cold War, and the FBI Connection, by former FBI agent Herman Bly, included the assassination of a U.S. president. But the possibility of a nuclear war with the Soviet Union, coming so soon after the Cuban missile crisis, is why the communist connection to Russia and Cuba would be played down. Bly wrote, “…I believe the heads of the FBI, CIA, and President Johnson wanted the Oswald case brought to a conclusion as fast as possible as they did not want another crisis with the Soviet Union so soon after the Cuban missile crisis.”

It’s one of those inconvenient facts that our liberal media want desperately to ignore. Plus, they are still attracted to the notion that Castro, rather than being a cold-blooded killer, was a romantic “revolutionary” who brought health care and educational opportunities to his captive people.

We can understand why Putin doesn’t want to highlight the communist role in Kennedy’s murder. He’s trying to play nice with the U.S. Government to get financial advantages. But why would President liar-nObama, so many progressives, and the liberal media want to pay homage to the killer of a much-beloved American president?

“Today,” liar-nObama said on Saturday, “we offer condolences to Fidel Castro’s family, and our thoughts and prayers are with the Cuban people. In the days ahead, they will recall the past and also look to the future. As they do, the Cuban people must know that they have a friend and partner in the United States of America.”

A “friend and partner” with a regime that sanctioned the murder of an American president?

Mr. liar-nObama, have you no shame?

DOJ Levies Fines for Respecting Rule of Law

While Lois Lerner and her acolytes at the Internal Revenue Service got away with unlawfully blocking the tax-free applications of conservative groups — which the agency is still doing, by the way — liar-nObama's Justice Department is busy punishing those who actually take Rule of Law seriously.

The latest example comes from Colorado, where the Denver Sheriff Department was handed  "a $10,000 fine after it required applications for deputy sheriff jobs to be U.S. citizens when hiring from the beginning of 2015 through March 2016," the Washington Examiner says. To remedy the situation, "The department will ... have to go through old applications to find applicants who were eliminated because of their citizenship status and reconsider them for future jobs" and "will also have to train its human resources staff on the Immigration and Nationality Act's anti-discrimination provisions."

This from the administration that selectively enforces immigration law.

Heritage Foundation fellow Hans von Spakovsky outlines the reasons the statute likely isn't applicable in this case. Also, don't miss the irony here. The IRS, to name just one example, spent years circumventing the law in order to subjugate Tea Party groups. But when it comes to the DOJ, its behavior is hardly different; the agency is selectively enforcing rules based entirely on whether it benefits the Left. Spakovsky writes, "Given the importance of the job done by law enforcement officers throughout all levels of government to protect the public from those who would harm them ... requiring citizenship seems like a basic, commonsense qualification."

"The federal government certainly thinks so," he adds, "because it does not apply this statute to itself. If you want to be a special agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which often works closely with local law enforcement, including sheriff's departments like Denver's, the FBI website specifically says that you 'must be a United States citizen.' The same is true of the U.S. Secret Service, which routinely discriminates against noncitizens in a manner that no doubt horrifies the DOJ's Office of Special Counsel for Immigration-Related Unfair Employment Practices." You know what else requires U.S. citizenship? You guessed it — the DOJ.

Federal agencies are hardly immune to corruption. They never have been. But when the Justice Department bends the rules — for example, by refusing to prosecute IRS bureaucrats and by enforcing rules from which it exempts itself — the administration can hardly be considered "the most transparent in history." Liberals are the ones who pride themselves on being open-minded. But who are the ones on college campuses stifling speech they don't like? It's not conservative students. In 1944, college aged men were storming the beach at Normandy. Today, more than a few liberal cupcakes on campus are demanding "safe spaces" and "cry rooms" to protect them from the bogeyman who we just elected president, and more broadly from any scary idea that doesn't conform to their own.

And hasn't it been liberals who say they don't want to be lectured about morality, especially if it's by a bunch of smug conservatives? But it was smug liberals who rudely lectured the vice-president elect from a Broadway stage recently about how he and Donald Trump should behave when they take office.

And it was liberals who warned us that undemocratic right-wingers would never accept the election results if Trump lost. But it's undemocratic left-wingers who took to the streets to protest Trump's election, sometimes violently. And it's desperate liberals who are trying to overturn the election results by demanding useless recounts in several states Trump won. And it's liberals who are playing with fire, trying to convince Electoral College electors to reject Trump even if that’s who voters in their states picked –and vote for liar-Hillary instead; anything, including reported death threats against electors, to deny him the presidency.

Liberals claim to abhor anything even vaguely resembling a violation of human rights. But it's liberals this week - not all, of course, but more than a few prominent ones - who are shedding tears over the death of that great man, Fidel Castro, who like all dictators didn't tolerate freedom of speech or the press, whose autocratic regime wouldn't allow even peaceful protests, who tortured and murdered many of those who wouldn't fall into line. “In many ways, after 1959 [when Castro took power], the oppressed the world over joined Castro’s cause of fighting for freedom and liberation-he changed the world, RIP.” Thank you, Jesse Jackson.

At least that wasn't as bad as the liberal prime minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, who said he had "deep sorrow" for "the loss of this remarkable leader ...who served his people for almost half a century.”

The real problem with liberal elites is that they don't think America is good enough - for them. I recently spoke to a liberal news reporter who, I got the impression, couldn't so much as conceive of the idea that millions of good, decent people voted for Donald Trump. This journalist wanted to talk about all the bigots Trump had in his corner.

He certainly had some, I acknowledged, but I wanted to know what percentage of Trump's vote did he think came from "deplorables' - was it more or less than liar-Hillary Clinton's 50 percent? He wouldn't commit to a number, but I got the impression it was more - a lot more.

He was also appalled that Trump supporters wanted the president-elect to fulfill his campaign promise to build a wall along the Mexican border. I told him the reason was both simple and benign: They were against illegal immigrants sneaking into this country. He had a different theory: Trump supporters didn't want people here who don't look (white) like them.

It's interesting that liberals are the ones who tell us they care about the little guy. But a lot of little guys in Ohio and Pennsylvania and Michigan chose Donald Trump over liar-Hillary Clinton. Don't those little guys count as far as the sophisticated liberal elite is concerned.

The problem is that too many liberals have forgotten how to be liberal, the essence of which is to keep an open mind, to consider what the other side is saying before you cavalierly label them as bigots.

Instead, they're too busy warning us that the Third Reich is coming.

William F. Buckley got it right most of the time, including the time he said that, "Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views."

A little humility wouldn't hurt right about now. I was never a fan of Donald J. Trump or liar-Hillary Clinton, but I'm willing to see what kind of president he will be. Illiberal liberals might want to take a break from their non-stop disgust with the president-elect, with their holier-than-thou umbrage that never seems to end - and instead close their mouths and open their ears, and try to understand why he won, without conveniently blaming it on their horrible racist, sexist, xenophobic fellow Americans.

The mainstream media’s opinion-shaping conglomerates are desperately searching for “plausible explanations” to account for the Trump phenomenon. Indeed, these hapless scribes completely ignored the groundswell of grassroots support nationwide that led to Donald Trump’s victory over their shoe-in favorite, Hillary Clinton, and her crime family syndicate.

Clearly, the mainstream media (MSM) missed it because they are a collective of inbred print and cable media echo chambers that exist in a few major urban centers such as New York, Washington and Los Angeles. This collective has little interest — much less contact — with those deplorable grassroots folks from flyover country.

The MSM’s latest effort to explain Trump’s victory is that his knuckle-dragging supporters were virally circulating “fake news” stories about Clinton. The MSM claims these stories were generated on fake websites by minions of Trump’s BFF, Vlady Putin. Yes, apparently another example of how the Russians “rigged the election” for Trump after Clinton’s Russian reset button failed and her secret communications subterfuge as secretary of state was exposed.

Last week, the Washington Post led with a claim that Russian fake news websites enabled “an insurgent candidate … to claim the White House.” As the WaPo’s “investigative journalists” opined, “The sophistication of the Russian tactics may complicate efforts by Facebook and Google to crack down on ‘fake news,’ as they have vowed to do after widespread complaints about the problem.”

“Efforts by Facebook and Google” to do what?

That’s right, millions of Americans turn to their Facebook news feeds for information. Thus, the MSM is lobbying CEO Mark Zuckerberg to modify the software his company produced for the Red Chinese, enabling them to censor content before it reaches their people, and apply that software to the American Facebook and Google market, ostensibly, to stop fake news.

Caveat emptor!

Now, for the record, our editors don’t pull news from untested foreign sources, and our American sources are highly reputable. Long before sunrise each day, The Patriot Post’s editors review hundreds of news and policy reports in order to select the few important trending stories from the endless loop of MSM noise — so that YOU don’t have to. And we have fact-checking redundancies for our news, policy and opinion pages, because even the most reliable sources are wrong on occasion.

Accuracy has always been the first standard for our content.

Indeed, 10 years ago at the annual American Conservative Union gathering in Washington, our staff received the Accuracy in Media award for outstanding Grassroots Journalism. We received that award in part for having coined the term “leftmedia” to describe the MSM’s “dezinformatsia” alliance with statist leftists as their de facto public information office. And in every edition we strive to shine the bright light of Truth on that corrupt alliance.

We also defined the “pollaganda effect” to describe how the MSM uses media polling as propaganda, to dictate public opinion rather than discern it — particularly in election cycles like that of 2016. Most media polls are outcome-based, which is to say designed for a subjective outcome, which is then promoted as an allegedly objective outcome in order to propagate and expand the subjective goal — promoting a leftist viewpoint or candidate.

How ironic it is that media outlets claim they refrain from exit polling on Election Day, ostensibly to ensure that they don’t influence those who’ve not yet voted and, thus, the election outcome. However, they promote their outcome-based polling incessantly up until the last minute before Election Day, and they do so precisely to influence the voters and, thus, the election outcome. Of course with advanced absentee voting at almost 40% in 2016, the pollaganda effect is more pervasive than ever.

Of course, we’ve also continuously exposed the dangers of entertainment as political indoctrination — again, an area where lacking a functional filter of discernment results in a liberal lemming effect.

From day one, our editors' steadfast focus on Liberty has accounted for the success and growth of our highly acclaimed publication, now in its 20th year online — longer than any other news, policy and opinion digest.

Conversely, over the last 20 years the powerful MSM news conglomerates have steadily declined. Notwithstanding their recent “fake news” fakery, the reason for that decline is the MSM outlets are now the most prolific and insidious “fake news” propagators in the marketplace of ideas. Increasingly, the MSM’s audience is wising up, and turning to the most powerful First Amendment forum since that very amendment’s ratification — the Internet.

The once venerable Washington Post now has a subscription circulation under 500,000 — more than The Patriot Post’s subscription circulation, but fewer than the 518,000 people who follow our news, policy and opinion on our Facebook page.

Writing on the First Amendment, Thomas Jefferson noted, “Where the press is free and every man able to read, all is safe.”

But the MSM does not exemplify a “free press” today. It is predominantly enslaved by the prevailing leftist winds, and its pages, bandwidth and airtime are filled with subjective opinion poorly masquerading as “objective journalism.”

Thus, millions of Americans whose opinions subsist on a steady diet of MSM “journalism,” particularly those who don’t develop the gift of discernment, fall victim to the principle of “garbage in, garbage out.” Because the MSM’s mixture of facts and opinion/fiction still enjoys relatively wide and influential circulation, while being subjected to less scrutiny, it’s a far more dangerous form of fake and fallacious news.

There are three modes of truth-telling.

First is “the truth,” as opposed to a complete lie. Second is “the whole truth,” as opposed to intentionally withholding facts to slant a story. And third is “nothing but the truth,” as opposed to adding embellishments that receive the imprimatur of legitimacy by being mentioned in the same story.

The MSM has developed a Pulitzer Prize-winning ability to invert all three modes, often in the same story, to the end that much of what they produce is 10% substance and 90% fragrance. But again, lacking the ability (or the desire) to discern, millions of Americans simply soak it up.

As I was preparing to look for a notable example of how MSM fake news bias is picked up and propagated through social media, one fell right into my lap.

At 9:50 Monday morning, there was an attack at The Ohio State University. Shortly thereafter, the MSM launched reports of an “active shooter” on campus and multiple victims.

At 11:52, a full two hours after that incident, former Demo VP wannabe Tim Kaine broadcast this Tweet: “Deeply saddened by the senseless act of gun violence at Ohio State this morning.” Given his status as Hillary Clinton’s former running mate, he has many followers who instantly Re-Tweeted his Tweet.

So Kaine picked up an MSM news report about an “active shooter,” and broadcast it across his social media platform, where it quickly went viral. And his “gun violence” claim kicked off an immediate #guncontrol trend!

Problem is, the “active shooter” at Ohio State turned out to be an “active Islamist” immigrant who assaulted 11 students with his car and then a butcher knife. Fortunately, the only “active shooter” on campus was the police officer who shot the assailant.

Kaine failed to correct his fake news Tweet until almost one and a half hours later, Tweeting: “Updated reports say attacker used a vehicle & knife. Horrifying & senseless.”

Again, responding to the lack of media discernment and fake MSM news, I close with those ever apropos words from Thomas Jefferson: “Man, once surrendering his reason, has no remaining guard against absurdities the most monstrous, and like a ship without rudder, is the spot of every wind. With such persons, gullibility takes the helm from the hand of reason and the mind becomes a wreck.”

(Footnote: On the subject of Tweets — please, somebody on Trump’s transition team, suspend his Twitter account! Though I agree with his sentiments about flag burners, the Supreme Court has ruled on both flag desecration and revoking citizenship. Notably, in his opinion on flag desecration, Justice Antonin Scalia agreed with Trump, noting he would throw them in jail! So get Scalia’s replacement on board and let’s test this case again. Oh, and a footnote to this footnote, recall if you will that 10 years ago, then-Sen. "What you need to know about the shooting at Ohio State," blared a headline at USA Today. Well, first of all, what you need to know is that it wasn't a shooting at all. It was evidently an 18-year-old Somali refugee — a legal permanent resident of the United States and a student at Ohio State University — who drove a car into a crowd before jumping out to cut and stab people with a butcher knife. (Ohio State is a gun free zone, after all...) A campus security guard opened fire, killing the would-be murderer. (College cupcakes protest cops until they need one.) Several people were hospitalized with injuries, some critical, from either the car or the knife.

Media reports about such attacks are notoriously inaccurate, as various outlets scramble to be the first out with a "news alert." And the template for such incidents is to blame a "gunman." But somehow we don't expect to now see reports of the "carman" or the "knifeman."

NBC notes, "The motive was unknown, but officials said the attack was clearly deliberate and may have been planned in advance." No doubt. After all, it was modeled after attacks in Minnesota and California, as well as another that was slightly more famous — the one in Nice, France. In that attack, as in the aforementioned and countless other attacks, the Islamic State-inspired radical perpetrator yelled "Allahu Akbar!" as he took the lives of innocent victims. In Nice, 85 people were mowed down by a terrorist with a 15-ton truck. In September, The Washington Post reported on the model, as well: "The attacks carried out by Palestinians against Israelis often appear to be spontaneous and opportunistic. Many are undertaken by young, unmarried Palestinians. The most common weapon used is a kitchen knife. The second most common is the family car." Check, and check. The Islamic State has called for such attacks.

Meanwhile, the attacker's Facebook page featured a few clues: "America, stop interfering with other countries, especially the Muslim Ummah. We are not weak... By Allah, we will not let you sleep unless you give peace to the Muslims. You will not celebrate or enjoy any holiday." Furthermore, "I am sick and tired of seeing my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters being killed and tortured EVERYWHERE. Seeing my fellow Muslims being tortured, raped and killed in Burma led to a boiling point."

Well, it's not Ohio State students torturing and killing Muslims (and Christians and Jews and others). It's Islamic State radicals.

You couldn't but love the man my favorite cousin called Uncle Benny, and while he did have feuds and fusses from time to time, he never met a stranger or a wayfarer who was not welcome in the house to spend Sabbath and enjoy a good meal of eastern European fare that, I learn from the Wall Street Journal, is now the fashion among gourmet chefs.

"More than Israel has kept the Sabbath," a purely cultural rather political Zionist wrote in another century, "the Sabbath has kept Israel." Yes, let other peoples raise their flags and claim their territories, but this peculiar one claims only a territory of the spirit. All it has asked through much of its checkered past is to be left alone. But that turns out to have been too much for great empires to grant. That it asked so little caused other more aggressive people not to love it but despise it. So does weakness work; it invites only more bullying. Cringe and be prepared to suffer the rod, not escape it. Only strength and self-reliance will prevent it, never weakness.

A good Sabbath to you, friend, on whatever day of the week yours falls. May you be well and strong. And may you avoid the contagious grip of today's ideological fashions. Writing in First Things, its editor R.R. Reno tells about a visit he paid to Christendom College in Front Royal, Va. He describes it as a small cog in the vast machinery of what is laughingly called higher education in this country.

Christendom College is hidden away from the maze of worldly concerns in this land of the free and home of the unlettered. It doesn't even accept federal grants, which have become the life's blood of American education and a great point of pride among other schools. The school's curriculum, like its mission, is traditional, geared toward a life of the mind and spirit rather than urging its students, like so many trained seals, to climb the greasy pole of politics.

Strangely enough in this day and debased age, Christendom's required courses are intended to inspire a life of faith and reason rather than to join some meritocratic upper crust that's supposed to run Barack liar-nObama's administrative state. How rare, and how welcome.

Brother Reno is scarcely enthusiastic about today's industrial-educational complex. He contrasts Christendom College with Haverford College, his own alma mater, which remains as impressive in its own frightening way. It, too, has a small student body, which numbers about twice the almost 500 who go to Christendom. But its campus is large and well-maintained. To call it grand would not be inaccurate. Grand, too, are its financial resources, and its faculty could be changed for that of any other highly selective institution in or out of the Ivy League and nobody might be able tell the difference.

Kids all over America doubtless dream of going to such a school some golden day. You might call it a feeder school, as Brother Reno indeed does. For the whole system in this country would seem to be dedicated to feeding the most talented of our young people into the maw of this modern-day Moloch, god of progress or what goes by that name.

Yet the little Christendom Colleges of the land proliferate like so many blessings, waiting only to be gathered up. There is no need to spy them out. They'e not hiding but are there in plain sight. Look around and you'll find one. Both you and your kid might be glad you did.

The Obama administration has done everything it could do to undermine the guarantee made in Article IV – Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution. In part, it is this section of the Constitution which is at the foundation of Democrat claims that our Constitution is an old, outdated, useless document that stands in the way of their vision for a Global Marxist Open Society via Democratic Socialism – their new definition for “democracy.”

To put a fine point on the subject, there is nothing at all “democratic” about today’s Democratic Party, which is why that party is on the brink of extinction in America. In fact, today’s Democrats want neither a “Republican form of government” as guaranteed by our Constitution, or a true “democracy” ruled by popular vote alone.

The hot button topics that keeps the DNC afloat would all go down in flames under a pure democracy wherein voters would decide every issue by popular referendum.

• Gay marriage would be voted down
• Abortion would be voted down
• Higher taxation would be voted down
• More regulation would be voted down
• Open borders would be voted down
• Refugee Resettlement from the Middle East would be voted down
• Government run health care would be voted down
• Affirmative action would be voted down

In fact, nothing today’s Democratic Party stands for could survive a public referendum by pure democratic process. So, it isn’t “democracy” that today’s Democrats want, nor is it the Republican form of government guaranteed every state and every American in this country under Article IV – Section 4.

If you look at the basic “special interest” planks of the DNC in the bullet points above, you will see that the DNC has made itself a “minority interest organization” based upon issues opposed by the vast majority of Americans. They are NOT the “all inclusive” political party they claim to be in their campaign rhetoric. Their party includes everyone except Americans…

Therefore they, to include the remaining democrats in Congress, on the courts, at the State Houses, mayors and city councils will fight tooth and nail against Trumps effort to “make America great again.” They don’t want America to ever be great again!

After all, it isn’t Marxism, liberalism, progressivism or democratic socialism that made America great in the first place. It was free market capitalism, personal freedom, individual liberty, the sacrifices of the millions in pursuit of their own happiness under their own steam, by the sweat of their own brow, that once made America the greatest nation ever known to mankind. It was a Republican form of government that allowed the people to flourish and prosper, and grow a great society of free people.

Unfortunately, Marxist progressives have wormed their way into academia, pseudoscience, governmental bodies and the courts. As a result, we have college students hating Donald Trump and loving the likes of Fidel Castro, Che Guevara and Karl Marx – Bernie Sanders, Jill Stein and Hillary Clinton.

In the book TRUMPED: The New American Revolution released in May 2016, we lay out who the real enemies of freedom and liberty are, their written game plan for destroying our Constitutional Republic step-by-step, their war tactics for accomplishing that goal and what the American people were poised to do about it in the 2016 election, which has since happened with the election of Trump-Pence.

The book was not written about Donald Trump, or as a campaign endorsement, or even to help Trump-Pence win the election. It was researched and written to help every American understand what Trump, Pence and all Americans are up against in the effort to make America great again. It was written to engage all Americans in a lofty goal that Trump alone, will not be able to accomplish.

In truth, many who voted for Trump did so simply because they opposed everyone else. Others bought into Trump’s vision for America, without knowing what Trump must overcome, or what they must help him overcome to make that vision a reality. TRUMPED was written for all of them… but it was also written for all Americans who have been trained to “fear” a Republican form of government. Trained to seek government tyranny to protect them from freedom and personal responsibility.

Those who have read the book understand completely that today’s Democratic Party is totally destructive of the Constitutional Republic and the party needs to be dumped on the ash heap of history and a new truly democratic party formed.

They also understand that they will have a critical personal role to play in Trump’s success if we are to ever make America great again.

I voted for Trump… believing that Trump will do everything in his power to make America great again – but at the same time, knowing he will not be able to do that alone, without the help of millions of Americans who will remain engaged in a productive way after the election.

Today’s Democrats do not want America to be great again. Many average democrat voters do, but they have been trained to work against themselves by the DNC and Democratic Socialists. Until the people learn the truth about who has kept a boot on their neck all these years, while claiming to protect them, they will not be able to make America great again.

TRUMPED: The New American Revolution should be under every Christmas tree this year, a copy for each member of the family, for the immediate future and for all posterity. It is necessary for every American to know who is really working against them and how, as well as who is really working for them.

Until every American understands what it takes to make any country great and who stands in the way, they will fall short of their stated goal, to make America great again!

Nate Jackson: Fidel Castro, who ruled Cuba for more than 57 years with an iron fist (notwithstanding his passing power to his brother Raul in 2008), is likely finding his current accommodations a bit warmer than Cuba. But Barack liar-nObama, who wields power as if he wishes to imitate the Cuban dictator, almost mourned the latter's loss. After all, liar-nObama has always gravitated toward radical Marxist mentors.

Pre-Castro, the U.S. and Cuba enjoyed friendly trade relations. Castro completely destroyed the island's prosperity, though. The U.S. embargoed Cuba, seeking to isolate and starve the Castro regime, but Fidel found friends in the Soviet Union and Venezuela. After Castro seized power, John F. Kennedy launched the embarrassingly failed coup attempt at the Bay of Pigs, which led to the ensuing Cuban missile crisis involving the Soviets. Nuclear war was only narrowly avoided. Fast forward to 2014, and along comes liar-nObama to normalize relations with Cuba. Perhaps that explains his statement.

"At this time of Fidel Castro's passing," liar-nObama said in an official statement, "we extend a hand of friendship to the Cuban people. We know that this moment fills Cubans — in Cuba and in the United States — with powerful emotions, recalling the countless ways in which Fidel Castro altered the course of individual lives, families, and of the Cuban nation. History will record and judge the enormous impact of this singular figure on the people and world around him."

Worse, liar-nObama said, "We offer condolences to Fidel Castro's family." Aside from that last outrage, clearly, liar-nObama's statement was meant to be ambiguous. "Powerful emotions"? Yes, ignorant academics may shed a tear for Castro, but the people he brutally oppressed have somewhat different emotions. Castro "altered the course of individual lives"? Yes, if by "altered" liar-nObama meant ended. "History will judge"? Yes, it will, but why wait for "history"? We already know the extent of Castro's evil. We can judge him now, and have been judging him since he took over the Caribbean island in 1959.

As The Wall Street Journal briefly recaps, "Castro took power on New Year's Day in 1959 serenaded by the Western media for toppling dictator Fulgencio Batista and promising democracy. He soon revealed that his goal was to impose Communist rule. He exiled clergy, took over Catholic schools and expropriated businesses. Firing squads and dungeons eliminated rivals and dissenters. The terror produced a mass exodus."

That exodus includes many Cubans in Miami, hundreds of whom took to the streets to celebrate Fidel's demise. The refugees included the parents of U.S. Senator Marco Rubio. "Sadly," Rubio said in a statement, "Fidel Castro's death does not mean freedom for the Cuban people or justice for the democratic activists, religious leaders, and political opponents he and his brother have jailed and persecuted. The dictator has died, but the dictatorship has not."

House Speaker Paul Ryan hoped for the death of that dictatorship: "Now that Fidel Castro is dead, the cruelty and oppression of his regime should die with him."

Unsurprisingly, Donald Trump's statement was also far more appropriate than liar-nObama's: "Today, the world marks the passing of a brutal dictator who oppressed his own people for nearly six decades. Fidel Castro's legacy is one of firing squads, theft, unimaginable suffering, poverty and the denial of fundamental human rights." Trump also noted that "Cuba remains a totalitarian island," but that he is "absolutely" willing to undo liar-nObama's work to normalize relations with Cuba.

liar-nObama wasn't the only one offering foolish words, nor did he make the worst statement. Jimmy Carter wrote, "Rosalynn and I share our sympathies with the Castro family and the Cuban people on the death of Fidel Castro. We remember fondly our visits with him in Cuba and his love of his country."

Castro "loved" his country by brutalizing it. "In many ways," pontificated Jesse Jackson, "after 1959, the oppressed the world over joined Castro's cause of fighting for freedom & liberation — he changed the world. RIP."

Castro only fought against freedom and liberation. But Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau may have taken the cake: " Fidel Castro was a larger than life leader who served his people for almost half a century. ... While a controversial figure, both Mr. Castro's supporters and detractors recognized his tremendous dedication and love for the Cuban people who had a deep and lasting affection for 'el Comandante'. ... We join the people of Cuba today in mourning the loss of this remarkable leader."

Only after being challenged did Trudeau grudgingly acknowledge that, "yes," Castro was a dictator and there were "concerns around human rights."

Such pathetic paeans should be roundly condemned because whitewashing Castro's true legacy is itself an appalling and immoral act. Yet there is hope. People around the world should take solace that even dictators are mortal. And while tyranny will continue to rear its ugly head — and it still lives in Havana — those who love Liberty will always be there to oppose it. Here's to Liberty winning the day in Cuba.

{townhall.com} ~ That the United States is not a direct democracy where decisions are decided by popular vote is a dilemma for Democrats unhinged over Donald Trump’s Electoral College win who are now calling for a recount in some states.

Besides their recount temper tantrum, Republican Electoral College members across the U.S. report harassment and threats from disgruntled liar-Clinton supporters in a last-ditch effort to put their candidate who should be in the big house in the White House.

The Detroit News reports Michigan electors received “intimidating emails or messages” demanding members vote for liar-Clinton and ditch Trump. The report says one young Michigan elector, Mike Banerian, received a message “containing a death wish” and another, “a death threat” in which someone threatened they’d “put a bullet” in his mouth. Banerian said he’s been called “a hateful bigot” and said, “people talk about shoving a gun in my mouth and blowing my brains out” -- if he abides by Michigan law requiring electors to vote for Trump.

Democrat leadership would be wise to detach itself from these whack jobs because the party will continue to implode unless they eradicate the despotic progressivism which currently rules within the ranks.

These despotic dimwits don’t give a whit that America’s founders created the Electoral College to prevent the kind of mob rule democracy that Alexis de Tocqueville once called “the tyranny of the majority” – which will happen if a few big cities and states always control the outcome.

Given all the talk about ditching the Electoral College, fair representation is the last thing on the minds of those who didn’t mind it at all when polls predicted a liar-Hillary electoral landslide. Truth is, if they really cared about fairness, they’d ditch the Super Delegates system which was rigged for liar-Hillary when it robbed Bernie Sanders early on.

Protest, petition and recount all they wish, but eliminating the Electoral College won’t happen. There isn’t a rural state out there foolish enough to relinquish the power the nation’s founders gave it. Besides, it would take nothing short of a miracle for the Senate and states to ratify.

It’s important to remember that the popular vote count is often rendered impotent by the Electoral College. Candidates’ campaign strategies are based on getting to 270, not a simple majority of voters. If liar-Clinton cared about the popular vote, she wouldn’t have ignored her so-called “blue wall” states that Trump smashed through.

Oh, and about that popular vote count to which Democrats currently cling.

In 2012, research commissioned by the Pew Center on the States found: “Approximately 24 million—one of every eight—voter registrations in the United States are no longer valid or are significantly inaccurate; More than 1.8 million deceased individuals are listed as voters; Approximately 2.75 million people have registrations in more than one state.”

Another study, “Do non-citizens vote in U.S. elections?” from Old Dominion University and George Mason University, found that non-citizen participation in recent U.S. elections “has been large enough to change meaningful election outcomes including Electoral College votes and Congressional elections” including North Carolina’s 2008 electoral votes and Democrat Al Franken’s “win” which gave Senate Democrats the 60th vote needed to overcome filibusters. It also stated the obvious: non-citizens favor Democrats.

It’s entirely possible that liar-Clinton’s popular vote lead in sanctuary city states would be nullified based on non-citizen participation and voter fraud, given the study found that non-citizen votes alone ranged between 38,000 to 2.8 million in 2008.

That’s why we need the Electoral College, which serves to prevent voting fraud in certain areas from tainting a whole election. Without it, we’d see liberty’s demise and mob rule rise. If Democrats really want a different form of government, many Americans like myself are more than willing to subsidize their one-way airfare.

The time has come!

Over the past decades, Americans have watched as irresponsible, self-serving members of congress have repeatedly made decisions that enrich themselves while ignoring or even violating our laws. They have given raises to themselves, stuffed their staff with family and friends with NO accountability or oversight, passed laws that hurt Americans in countless ways, even forcing us to buy insurance which in reality is an unlawful income tax, doing all this while EXEMPTING themselves from every law they pass.

One of the most egregious ways our elected "serpents" have harmed Americans is by creating the conditions that have encouraged people from other countries, largely from Mexico and other Latin and South American countries, to move to the USA illegally. Congress knows this is a direct violation of our immigration laws, yet they have consistently and repeatedly ignored our laws, even going to the point where illegals can live here illegally, get jobs illegally (which we all know were held by Americans), get free benefits here illegally, get free education illegally, free hospital care illegally, and even allow their children born here to be given US citizenship illegally, all at the expense of the taxpayer.

Worse yet, they have allowed cities to openly designate themselves to be "sanctuary" cities where illegals will NOT be arrested, prosecuted, or deported for being here illegally, despite that being a violation of federal law. Now if that were not bad enough, those same elected serpents have allowed convicted felons to remain in the US even after committing violent crimes such as rape or murder. Notable examples of this is the case of Kate Steinlee who was murdered by an illegal who had been previously convicted for felonies, yet who was allowed to remain in San Francisco under its sanctuary city policy. Another heinous case was in Houston where an illegal murdered a US citizen at a traffic light in cold blood. He did not even know the man he murdered. The illegal just decided he wanted to murder an American and the victim had the misfortune of being at the wrong place at the right time, and was murdered for no reason whatsoever. Then there are the countless cases where illegals with multiple convictions for DUI, up to as many as 13, have been allowed to remain in the US, some of which caused the death of US citizens by again driving while drunk.

There are many other cases like these, most of which are not even reported in the liberal controlled media, most of which are in full agreement with the policies of our elected serpents that enable these crimes to be committed. So I believe the time has come to hold those elected serpents responsible for their decisions.

I am specifically calling for ALL elected or appointed officials who have created laws or conditions that allow illegals to come and remain here to be held PERSONALLY LIABLE for ALL crimes committed by ALL illegals. After all, these serpents have created laws holding US citizens personally liable for decisions they make. As a well known example, these law breakers, being congress and others, have passed laws holding bartenders personally liable for serving a patron who later causes death or injury to someone while driving. Since congress clearly believes in holding people personally responsible for their decisions, I believe it is only just that THEY be held to the exact same standard. Therefore, I call on We the People to demand that congress, bureaucrats, and judges who create, allow, or support laws that allow illegals to come, live, and work here be held PERSONALLY LIABLE for ALL crimes committed by ALL illegals. Again, this is just applying the principle THEY created, that being to hold people personally liable for their decisions, and applying that principle to themselves. I don't believe any American believes congress, judges, or bureaucrats should be exempt from ANY law they pass, especially a law that is directly responsible for many deaths, rapes, robberies, traffic accidents, and many other crimes, not to mention the burden on the taxpayers for paying for those crimes, both in dollars and in personal injury.

While we are at it, the same concept should apply to congress and others who have intentionally brought millions of muslims to America despite them knowing that islam as an ideology is fundamentally opposed to the freedom we possess. Furthermore, they know that islam as an ideology, is committed to the notion that islam should be the ONLY religion in the world, and that sharia should be the ONLY, and supreme law in the nation, effectively destroying our Constitution and with it all related laws. Therefore, since islam is a permanent, existential threat to America, and since its members like those in the muslim brotherhood have openly declared war on the US, calling for its destruction, islam is a fundamental threat to the existence of a free America, a fact that is known by lawmakers, no muslim should be allowed to enter the US, and those here should be deported. Also, in keeping with the concept of personal liability, all members of congress, judges, and bureaucrats who have caused muslims to be brought here, housed here, and allowed to work here should also be held personally liable for ALL crimes committed by ALL muslims.

Remember, not ONE of the countless crimes committed by illegals or muslims would have been possible without the intentional, willful decisions & laws created by congress. Nor would the cost in suffering and death of our citizens have occurred without those same intentional decisions. Neither would the trillions of our tax dollars they have spent bringing them here by bribing cities and churches to help them find living quarters, jibs, and navigate the welfare system have been spent.

I understand that congress will not voluntarily pass this law so I am calling on We the People to unite to force congress to pass laws or face arrest under RICO statutes for racketeering which is in all honesty what they should all be charged with. In the likely event that the traitors, yes TRAITORS in congress refuse to hold themselves accountable for their decisions, which I fully expect, we must find ways to arrest them in local venues such as their local districts or states. If the judges, DA's, and local lawmakers refuse, then they are siding with the criminals in congress and should be held equally accountable.

It is time! We cannot allow the criminal acts of congress to go unpunished, for Americans are paying the price of their crimes in suffering, death, and money, all while congress laughs at us. Hold them accountable!

America was created by a people who had little else other than a commitment to the belief that Liberty was worth fighting and dying for. Surely we can do the same thing, can't we? After all, millions of Americans have fought and died for America, so don't we owe it to them to fight for justice, regardless of the cost?

South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley accepted Donald Trump's appointment of ambassador to the United Nations. While some have questioned both Trump's offer and Haley's acceptance, it may best be described as a mutually beneficial agreement — or as Trump would say, a "good deal." Haley is a rising star in the GOP and this appointment would give her more national notoriety. In other words, for the term-limited governor, this move is a logical next step for her career. For Trump, this move should be encouraging to those conservatives who are still hesitantly supportive, as this is yet another solid choice. It's also a sign of his magnanimity after Haley's thinly veiled criticism of Trump in her State of the Union rebuttal.

Trump also tapped Betsy DeVos as his secretary of education. DeVos didn't support Trump during the primaries, and said of him in July, "A lot of the things he has said are very off-putting and concerning." She was also a delegate for Ohio Gov. John Kasich at the GOP convention. But she obviously warmed to Trump. DeVos, a former Michigan Republican Party chairwoman, has been a strong advocate for school choice for over 20 years, helping to push through Michigan's charter school bill in 1993. Trump stated upon nominating her, "She is passionate about the prospect of making sure that every child in every family, regardless of their economic circumstances, has an opportunity to go to a good school." Interestingly, she's the mother of four children, none of whom attended public school.

With both appointments, Trump has shown the ability to look beyond past disagreements in order to find those he believes will be best for the job. This may be one of the strongest qualities he has displayed thus far. ~The Patriot Post

"Master of the universe, I hereby forgive anyone who angered or antagonized me or sinned against me - whether physically or financially or through disrespect, or in any other matter affecting me; whether involuntarily or willfully, carelessly or deliberately; whether by word or by deed. I forgive every person: let no one incur punishment because of me."

One of the rules I try to live by is not to take offense when no offense is intended. A corollary to that rule is to presume, whenever possible, that no offense was intended. This is not, I admit, a discipline I've mastered perfectly. But it's not as hard as you might think. Make a daily point of affirming that you harbor no ill will, and you tend not to smolder with resentment and unresolved umbrage. At a time when Americans by the millions seem to go out of their way to keep themselves in a state of high dudgeon, choosing not to be offended can be wonderfully refreshing.

Not taking offense isn't the same as not having pet peeves. (I've got a bunch of those.) Nor does it mean never condemning shameful, foolish, or destructive behavior. (Where would newspaper columnists be if we never uttered any criticism?) It does mean recognizing that being offended is always a choice, and that other people's words and views can bend you out of shape only if you choose to let them have that effect.

This isn't a column about politics, but during last week's "Hamilton" kerfuffle, Vice President-elect Mike Pence provided a pitch-perfect demonstration of how not to take offense. Rather than bristle and fume when he was booed by audience members and pointedly addressed by the cast during the curtain call, Pence took it all with gracious equanimity. "I wasn't offended," he said afterward. He praised the "great, great show" and the "incredibly talented" cast, and made clear that actor Brandon Dixon's impassioned statement from the stage didn't trouble him or require any apology.

"I nudged my kids," Pence told Fox News, "and reminded them, 'That's what freedom sounds like.'"

And that, in turn, is what a mature emotional perspective sounds like. It would be nice to encounter more of it in our national discourse.

Unfortunately, picking at scabs has become a national pastime. Americans have lost their ability to shrug off other people's obnoxious comments or insensitive gestures or politically incorrect views. Instead of rolling their eyes and letting it pass, they proclaim: "I'm offended." They demand apologies. They insist on "trigger warnings" and "safe spaces." They howl about "microaggressions" and whinge about "mansplaining" and compile lists of banned words. When they get offended, they expect heads to roll or companies to be blackballed. They even take offense on behalf of people who don't take offense.

Remember Frank Costanza? He was the character on "Seinfeld" who invented Festivus, an idiosyncratic family holiday commemorated with a dinner, an aluminum pole, feats of strength, and - the high point - an Airing of Grievances. "I got a lot of problems with you people!" bellows Costanza to those at his Festivus table. "And now you're gonna hear about it!"

It was funny as a sitcom shtick. As a national pastime, perpetual outrage is exhausting and debilitating. America could do with a little less Frank Costanza and a little more Mike Pence.

Waxing wroth when we're offended may feel temporarily satisfying, but the weight of all those chips on our shoulders does long-term damage. "In my work treating alcoholics," writes Abraham Twerski, a psychiatrist and founder of the renowned Gateway Rehabilitation Center in Pittsburgh, there is "great emphasis on divesting oneself of resentments," since "resentments are probably the single greatest factor responsible for relapse." Twerski quotes one recovering alcoholic's insight: "Carrying resentments is like letting someone who you don't like live inside your head rent-free." No lasting benefit comes from that, but all kinds of misery do.

In a society that often seems to thrive on taking offense - just turn on talk radio, or read an online comments section, or follow Donald Trump and Elizabeth dinky-Warren on Twitter - it can't be overemphasized that nursing a grievance is always optional. You may not be able to control other people's opinions, ignorance, bad jokes, or political loyalties. But you alone determine how you react to them.

Everyone knows the biblical injunction to "love thy neighbor as thyself." Less well known is the first half of the verse: "Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge."

That's excellent counsel, for believers and nonbelievers alike.

On Saturday, liar-Hillary Clinton joined Green Party candidate Jill Stein in calling for a vote recount in Wisconsin. Despite the lack of any credible evidence of voter fraud — even the liar-nObama administration stated that "the federal government did not observe any increased level of malicious cyber activity aimed at disrupting our electoral process" and that "we believe our elections were free and fair from a cybersecurity perspective" — Stein has pushed to have recounts in the states of Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania on the basis of "concerns" over Russian hacking of the voting machines.

liar-Clinton has also conceded that there was no "actionable evidence of hacking or outside attempts to alter the voting technology." So why join Stein in the push for a recount? Does this not smack of absolute hypocrisy since it was liar-Hillary who chastised Donald Trump before the election for declining to say he would accept the election results? While the explanation may be as simple as liar-Hillary being a sore loser, it's a safe bet that this is yet another attempt to delegitimize Trump's presidency. It also may be a continued push by the Left to justify the "need" to eliminate the Electoral College.

Speaking of Trump, however, on Sunday, he tweeted that millions of illegal immigrants had voted and, had they not done so, he would have also won the popular vote. While undoubtedly there were many illegal votes, to suggest that there were millions of fraudulent votes is an unfounded and speculative claim that doesn't help his case. As president-elect, Trump would do better to refrain from commenting and continue to focus on choosing his team. If anything, this move by liar-Hillary may cause Trump to re-evaluate whether or not to further investigate her. ~The Patriot Post

Debbie Wasserman Schultz was ousted as chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee earlier this year after allegations surfaced that she rigged the system in favor of liar-Hillary Clinton. But whatever level of corruption she brought to the job could pale in comparison to the trouble her replacement frontrunner would bring to the table.

As we recently reported, House Democrats, despite a disappointing performance on Nov. 8, appear unwilling to abandon their increasingly leftist views and, in fact, are doubling down: "Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison, a radical black Muslim member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, has launched a credible campaign to be the next DNC chair. Ellison launched his career as a member of the anti-Semitic Nation of Islam, and he's a man who likened 9/11 to the Nazis' Reichstag fire — in other words, an inside job meant to create a pretext for going after Muslims. And Democrats are considering putting him in charge of the party."

Even by some Democrat standards, Ellison is radical (although he's a natural extension of liar-nObama's radical roots). But a deeper look at his profile paints an even more alarming picture. According to The Washington Free Beacon, "The House Ethics Committee opened an investigation into Rep. Keith Ellison (D., Minn.) after he failed to disclose that a group founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood paid for him to make a pilgrimage to the Islamic holy site of Mecca in Saudi Arabia."

The 2008 trip was paid for by the Muslim American Society, which the Beacon explains was "founded by Muslim Brotherhood members in 1993 to act as the 'overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States,' according to federal prosecutors in 2007." Make no mistake: Ellison is a dangerous man. That Democrats are even considering him for a leadership role speaks volumes about where the party is and where it is going. And it's not good. You don’t know a tree is hollow until you push hard against it and it falls. The establishments of both parties did not know, a year ago, that they were hollow trees. They thought themselves strong because they always had been, and people think what has been true will continue. Then suddenly the tree is pushed and falls. To me that is the symbol, the image of 2016: the hollowed trees and how easily they fell.

Election night 2016 was not like 1980. That year produced an outcome fully within the political norms: a former two-term governor won the presidency. This year’s outcome went beyond all previous norms. Twenty-sixteen was like nothing in our lifetimes. In the future people will say, “Where were you that election night?” the way they do for other epochal moments.

Much of the mainstream, legacy media continues its self-disgrace. Having failed to kill Donald Trump’s candidacy they will now aim at his transition. Soon they will try to kill his presidency. Any journalists who are judicious toward Trump, who treat him fairly or even as a human being, are now accused of “normalizing” him. This is a manipulation: It is a way of warning your colleagues to approach the president-elect with the proper hostility or be scorned. None of this will do our country any good.

The left is in enraged mourning. A better way forward would be: reflect, absorb, gather your strength as the opposition, constructively oppose. Lose the hissing rancor. Use that energy to rebuild your party.

Right now 60 million people are very happy, and hopeful. They haven’t taken to the streets in elation, so we can’t see them. They haven’t broken car windows in their joy. Respect their happiness.

This is my fear: The question we ask after every national election is, “Can we come together?” The question this year is more, “Do we even want to come together?” Have the two nations within our nation reached a point of permanent estrangement? If the cultural left eases up and the economic right loosens up, maybe things can be soothed.

I think many people intuitively sense this: The Trump era either really will work or really won’t. It’s going to be something good or a disaster, but it won’t be a middling thing.

This big, burly country can take it either way. The proper attitude now? Give him a chance, watch close, wish well. Cheer what’s sound, criticize what isn’t.

And this: trust America.

Five days after the election I met an Ethiopian immigrant on a street in Washington. We got to talking. He spoke of how bad it was in his old country, all the killing. He’d been here 15 years. “I love America,” he said. “It gave everything to me.” But he was deeply concerned by the election. He has two sons, 8 and 6. The younger got up Wednesday morning, saw the TV and burst into tears. Trump won! The boy calls Trump “the mouth man.” How could a bully be president? “He wept,” said the Ethiopian. “How do I explain it to him?”

I thought. Finally I said, “Tell him to trust America.” Tell him that we are the world’s oldest democracy, that we are a good people, that we’ve been through shocks and surprises, and that we have checks and balances. “If it turns out good,” I said, “we’ll be happy. If it turns out really bad, America has a way of making your stay in the White House not too long. But tell him to trust America as you did, and it gave you everything.”

He said he’d tell his son that. We warmly shook hands.

This isn’t the first story of frightened children I’ve heard since the election. It’s the third. When I told it to a friend, also foreign-born, and so America-loving that he chokes up when he quotes past presidents, he told me that his 5-year-old woke up after the election and sobbed at the news.

Trump supporters feel that the left did this, demonizing Mr. Trump and making him monstrous. There’s some truth in that. But even truer is that Mr. Trump himself scared the children of America for a solid year with his loud ways and rough manner—“the mouth man.”

What a great thing it would be if Donald Trump would take a day off from the presidential transition, go to a series of schools, bring the press, and speak to children, telling them that he has nothing in his heart but the desire to do good and help people. “I have children and even grandchildren,” he might say. “I love them. I will do my best, and I love you.”

Mr. Trump’s people seem to me right now proud, exhausted and painfully aware that they emerged victorious despite the daily pummeling from the establishment and elite media. No one gave them a break.

And they’re right. It was that way.

But it’s not sissy-ish to respect peoples’ anxieties. It doesn’t legitimize your foes’ criticisms to show sensitivity. All presidents since Washington, “the father of our country,” have been seen as a national father figure. It grates on conservatives to think like that. It grates on me. But that’s inevitable for kids who see the president on TV all the time in an un-parented country.

They need to see a little gentleness and good intent. Their parents would appreciate it. And it’s needed before the inauguration. Impressions will have hardened by then.

I end with a related personal note. I never interviewed Donald Trump throughout this year’s campaign. From the beginning he reminded me of men I grew up with, Trumps with no money—loud, unsmooth, rough opinions. Where you came from and who you were surrounded by has a bearing on your loyalties and can bend your thinking. I judged that I’d see Mr. Trump most clearly from a middle distance. So I didn’t go, talk, interview. Six weeks ago I called a Trump staffer I’d interviewed to check a quote. She returned my call from Trump Force One. We spoke, and then suddenly the phone seemed to drop and I heard, “Who’s that?” Then I heard, “Peggy, this is Donald.”

I won’t quote exactly what was said. No one put it off the record, but it felt off the record, and some of the conversation was personal. But I can describe it. He was dignified, hilarious and modest. He told me that I’d sometimes been unfair to him, sometimes mean, sometimes really, really mean, but that when I was he usually deserved it, always appreciated it, and keep it up. He spoke of other things; he characterized for me my career.

I’d heard of his charm offensive, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say how charming, funny and frank he was—and, as I say, how modest. How actually humble.

It moved me. And it hurt to a degree a few weeks later when I wrote in this space that “Sane Donald Trump” would win in a landslide but that the one we had long seen, the crazed, shallow one, wouldn’t, and didn’t deserve to.

Is it possible there are deeper reserves of humility, modesty and good intent lurking around in there than we know? And maybe a toolbox, too, that can screw those things together and produce something good?

Where there’s life, there’s hope. He’s lively. Let’s hope.

But whatever happens, trust America. She has a way of weathering through.

For Democrats, The Road Back

{freedomsback.com} ~ One of the more salutary outcomes of the recent election is that Democrats are finally beginning to question the wisdom of basing their fortunes on identity politics. Having counted on the allegiance of African-Americans, Hispanics, gays, unmarried women and the young — and winning the popular vote all but once since 1992 — they were seduced into believing that they could ride this “coalition of the ascendant” into permanent command of the presidency.

They’re reconsidering now not because identity politics balkanizes society, creates state-chosen favored groups and fosters communal strife. They’re reconsidering because it’s not working.

Democrats read the 2008 and 2012 election results as a harbinger of the future. Then came 2016. They now realize that the huge turnout of their constituencies was attributable to Barack liar-nObama, a uniquely gifted campaigner whose aura is not transferable.

And why assume that identity politics creates permanent allegiances? Take the Hispanic vote. Both Mitt Romney and Donald Trump won less than 30 percent, but in 2004 George W. Bush won 44 percent. Why assume that the GOP cannot be competitive again?

As these groups evolve socioeconomically, their political allegiances can easily change. This is particularly true for the phenomenally successful Asian-American community. There is no reason the more entrepreneurial party, the GOP, should continue to lose this vote by more than 2-to-1.

Moreover, the legitimation of identity politics by the Democrats has finally come back to bite them. Trump managed to read, then mobilize, the white working class, and to endow it with political self-consciousness. What he voiced on their behalf was the unspoken complaint of decades: Why not us? All these other groups, up to and including the relatively tiny population of transgender people, receive benefits, special attention and cultural approbation, yet we are left out in the cold, neglected and condescended to as both our social status and economic conditions decline.

For all the embrace of identity politics at home, abroad liar-nObama has preached the opposite. Here is a man telling a black audience in September that he would “consider it a personal insult, an insult to my legacy” if they don’t turn out for the Democratic candidate in November. Yet on his valedictory tour abroad just nine weeks later, he lectures anyone who will listen on the sins of parochialism. His urgent message for the nations of the world, including his own, is to eschew “tribalism” in the name of a common universalism.

This doctrine of global consciousness found its photographic expression just two weeks ago. There was parka-bundled John hanoi-Kerry on a visit to the Antarctic, to which he had dropped in to make a point about global warming. Three days later, Vladimir Putin, thinking tribally, renewed the savage bombing of Aleppo and then moved nuclear-capable missiles into Kaliningrad to remind Europeans of the perils of defying the regional strongman.

Putin is quite prepared to leave the Antarctic ice sheets to hanoi-Kerry while he sets his sights on Eastern Europe and the Levant. Our allies, meanwhile, remain amazed that liar-nObama still believes the kinds of things he said in his maiden U.N. address about the obsolescence of power politics and national domination — and acts accordingly as if his brave new world of shared universal values had already arrived.

Seven months ago, liar-nObama went to Britain to urge them — with characteristic unsuccess — to remain in Europe. Now he returns to Europe to urge everyone to resist the siren song of “a crude sort of nationalism, or ethnic identity, or tribalism.”

This is rather ironic, given that what was meant as a swipe at both European and Trumpian ethno-nationalism is a fairly good description of the Democratic Party’s domestic strategy of identity politics.

To be sure, ethnic appeal has been part of American politics forever. But the liar-Hillary Clinton campaign was its reductio ad absurdum: all segmented group appeal, no message. Even Bernie Sanders is urging that “we go beyond identity politics” if Democrats are ever to appeal again to the working class.

As for foreign policy, there has always been and always should be an element of transcendent mission to American actions. But its reductio ad absurdum was the liar-nObama doctrine of self-sacrificial subordination of U.S. interests to universal values. That doctrine is finished. The results, from Ukraine to Aleppo to the South China Sea, are simply too stark.

For the Democrats, the road back — from tribalism at home and universalism abroad — beckons.

The ADL's New Bedfellows

{truthrevolt.org} ~ In an interview this week with the Australian media, Jordan’s King Abdullah became the latest Arab leader to express hope that President- elect Donald Trump and his team will lead the world’s to date failed fight against jihadist Islam.

Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi was among the first Arab leaders to welcome Trump’s victory.

Sisi has been largely shunned by the liar-nObama administration.

President Barack liar-nObama supported the Muslim Brotherhood regime that Sisi and the Egyptian military overthrew in 2013.

Sisi was the first foreign leader to speak to Trump after his victory was announced. He released a statement to the media saying that he “looks forward to the presidency of president Donald Trump to inject a new spirit into the trajectory of Egyptian-American relations.”

The support that the incoming Trump administration is garnering in the Arab world stands in stark contrast to the near wall-to-wall opposition to Trump expressed by the American Muslim community.

According to a survey of Muslim American opinion taken in October by the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR), 72% of American Muslims supported Democratic nominee liar-Hillary Clinton. Trump was supported by a mere 4% of the Muslim community.

Muslim American activists played key roles in the liar-Clinton campaign. They were particularly active in swing states like Ohio and Michigan where Trump won by narrow margins.

As The Jerusalem Post reported Wednesday, since the election, Muslim American leaders have expressed concern and hostility toward the incoming Trump administration. Muslim Democrat activist James Zogby, who also heads the Arab American Institute, published an op-ed in The Jordan Times to this effect after the election. Zogby expressed concern that the Trump administration would harm the civil rights of Arab Americans.

The gap between the Arab world’s support for Trump and the Muslim American community’s opposition to him is particularly notable because it reverberates strongly the growing cleavage between the Israeli government and public and large swaths of the American Jewish community.

Led most prominently by the Anti-Defamation League and its executive director Jonathan Greenblatt, in the wake of the election, American Jews are at the forefront of efforts to delegitimize Trump and his senior advisers. Unlike their Muslim American counterparts, who are keeping their criticism of Arab regimes to themselves, Greenblatt, the ADL and their allies on the Left have linked their opposition to Trump to legitimizing opponents of Israel.

Before assuming his role at the ADL, Greenblatt worked in Valerie Jarrett’s political influence shop in the liar-nObama White House. As ADL chief, Greenblatt has used his position as the head of a major Jewish organization to support the liar-nObama administration’s policies. To this end, since the election, the ADL has worked to tar the incoming Trump administration as antisemitic, focusing its fire on Trump’s senior strategist, former Breitbart News CEO Stephen Bannon.

The ADL spearheaded the campaign to label Bannon an antisemite. When its claims were shown to be entirely spurious, this week the ADL quietly acknowledged that Bannon has actually never made any antisemitic statements. But its quiet admission of spreading lies didn’t stop the ADL from continuing to traffic in them. Even after it admitted that “we are not aware of any antisemitic statements from Bannon,” the ADL continued to insist that Breitbart has been a home for antisemites because some Jew-haters wrote antisemitic responses to Breitbart articles.

The ADL’s smear campaign against Bannon is a hard-sell because Breitbart is among the most pro-Israel websites in the US. But this brings us to the second aspect of the ADL-led campaign against President-elect Donald Trump and his team.

With each passing day, it becomes increasingly clear that the ADL and its allies are using the Trump victory as a means to draw a distinction between pro-Israel and Jew-friendly while arguing that antisemites support Israel and that people who hate Israel are not antisemites. This was the clear goal at the ADL’s summit on antisemitism last week.

As Daniel Greenfield reported Thursday in Front- Page Magazine, the ADL used the conference to legitimize the so-called BDS campaign to boycott Jewish Israeli products and divest from businesses that do business with Jewish-owned Israeli businesses.

It similarly normalized the general argument that there is nothing inherently antisemitic about opposing the Jewish state.

In a panel with the disturbing title, “Is Delegitimization of Israel Antisemitism?” the ADL featured anti-Israel activists Jill Jacobs and Jane Eisen. Both women argued that BDS is legitimate. At the same time, they denounced fervent supporters of Israel like Bannon and Center for Security President Frank Gaffney.

Greenfield reported that the ADL gave a prominent platform at the conference supposedly dedicated to fighting antisemitism to Ford Foundation CEO Darren Walker. The Ford Foundation is one of the leading contributors to anti-Israel organizations in the US and to anti-Zionist political front groups in Israel.

Other speakers explained that it isn’t that Israel’s foes are antisemitic. It is just that Israelis and their supporters have become “hypersensitive” to criticism.

All in all, Greenfield concluded, “Instead of tackling antisemitism, the ADL was tackling Israel and pro-Israel Jews” and “normalizing anti-Israel rhetoric and organizations.”

A few days after the conference, the ADL took the next step toward normalizing hatred for Israel in America when it announced its support for Rep.

Keith Ellison’s candidacy to serve as the next chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

Ellison became the first Muslim American elected to the House of Representatives in 2006. In the decades that preceded his election, Ellison built a long and documented history of membership in and advocacy and employment for the antisemitic Nation of Islam. In his capacity as a Nation of Islam spokesman, Ellison made antisemitic statements and promoted anti-Jewish and anti-Israel positions and activists.

Since joining the House of Representatives, Ellison has been one of the leading anti-Israel voices in Congress. He has spearheaded multiple anti-Israel initiatives. He openly supports the boycott of Israeli Jewish products and has castigated Israel as an apartheid state.

Together with James Zogby, last August Ellison served as a member of the Democratic Party’s platform committee. The men attempted to purge the platform of language in support of Israel.

Yet Wednesday the ADL released a statement extolling Ellison as “a man of good character.” The ADL praised him as “an ally in the fight against antisemitism and for civil rights.”

It even said that Ellison “has been on record in support of Israel.”

ADL is supporting Ellison – and opposing Trump and his pro-Israel advisers – because Greenblatt and his backers support liar-nObama’s policies in the Middle East and want to make it difficult for Trump to abandon them.

Ellison and the leading American Muslim groups oppose Trump for the same reason. The difference between the two groups is that the ADL and its Jewish backers are acting in this manner because they support the Left, which liar-nObama leads. Ellison and his allies at CAIR, the Islamic Society of North America, and the Arab American Institute and other groups oppose Trump because they support the substance of liar-nObama’s policies.

The chief characteristics of liar-nObama’s Middle East policies have been support for the Muslim Brotherhood and Iran against Israel and the US’s Sunni allies.

Former FBI agent and counterterrorism expert John Guandolo estimates that upward of 80% of Islamic centers and mosques in the US are controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood.

The major American Muslim groups, including CAIR, ISNA and the Islamic Circle of North America are tied to the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood in turn supports Iran.

During his year in power in Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohamed Morsi permitted Iranian warships to travel through the Suez Canal, hosted Iranian leaders and Hezbollah commanders in Cairo and took a series of additional steps to embrace Iran.

Trump’s foreign policy adviser Walid Phares gave an interview to Egyptian television after Trump’s election stating that Trump will support a bill introduced by Sen. Ted Cruz to outlaw the Muslim Brotherhood in the US as well as its offshoots CAIR, ISNA and others due to their support for jihadist terrorist groups formed by Brotherhood members. Al-Qaida, Hamas and a host of other jihadist groups have all been formed by Muslim Brotherhood followers.

Trump’s national security adviser, Lt.-Gen. (ret.) Mike Flynn; Rep. Mike Pompeo, whom Trump has selected to serve as his CIA director; as well as Marine Gen. James Mattis, the leading contender to serve as Trump’s defense secretary are all outspoken opponents of liar-nObama’s nuclear deal with Iran.

Given the stakes, then, it makes perfect sense that the Arab American groups oppose Trump.

It also makes sense that Arab regimes threatened by the Muslim Brotherhood and Iran support Trump and eagerly await his inauguration.

And it clearly makes sense for Israel to welcome Trump’s election.

The only thing that makes no sense is the American Jewish campaign to demonize Trump. The ADL’s leadership of the campaign to smear Trump and his advisers while legitimizing BDS and supporting Israel-bashers is antithetical to the interests of the American Jewish community.

In adopting these positions, Greenblatt and the ADL along with their allies in J Street, Jewish Voices for Peace, If Not Now, The Forward, other far-left groups and mainstream groups that have lost their way show through their actions that they have conflated their Judaism with their support for the Left.

To the extent that the interests of the Jews of America contradict the positions of the Left, the Jews of America are behaving in an “antisemitic” way.

It is the responsibility of the segment of the community that understands “Jewish” is not a synonym of “leftist” to oppose the ADL and its backers. If they fail to do so, they will contribute to the descent of the community into powerlessness and irrelevance, not only in the era of Trump, but into the future.

We actually know little of their menu, and it may not please the traditionalists or the squeamish to learn that the early settlers were also keen on dining on swan, crane and even eagle.

Legend mixes with changing culinary tastes through the ages to determine what's for dinner on Thanksgiving Day. It's fitting to serve a variety of dishes to suit different attitudes, cultures and moral poses. Appeals to diversity are not unique to the 21st century. Thanksgiving tables have always been inclusive of the tastes of the most recent immigrants, expressing their appreciation for ancestral tradition as well as taking pleasure in the melting pot they join in America.

What may be unique today is the dogmatism of diversity. We usually think of diversity as opening up minds to different tastes, different traditions and different ideas, but contemporary attitudes often turn diversity into a decree. Political correctness, which has so mangled discourse in the media, in the workplace and on the college campus, is both condescending and patronizing toward others. It suggests that half of our countrymen need to be constantly tutored in the right way to think, talk and act, and the other half are to be coddled and protected rather than required to think for themselves.

We're not even talking about the irredeemable "deplorables" that liar-Hillary Clinton made up, or the "whitelash" electorate coined by a CNN reporter looking for prejudice against a black president in campaign rhetoric. "Safe spaces" have been created on campuses across the land to assuage the feelings of young adults who can't deal with how the numbers in the Electoral College came out differently than the numbers they preferred. Such young men and women, who once would have been looked at as future leaders, are now indulged with Legos, Play-Doh, coloring books and videos of puppies to distract them from the anxiety and fear in the real world.

The Chutzpah Award of the year, if not the Tony Award, must go to the actors of the rap musical "Hamilton" who broke through the fourth wall to explain to Vice President-elect Mike Pence how he should interpret what he had just watched and heard onstage. "We, sir, are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights," actor Brandon Victor Dixon said, with the approving cast lined up behind him. (This recalls Barbara Walters' famous plea to President Jimmy Carter as she concluded an interview just after he was elected more than four decades ago -- "Please be kind to us, Mr. President.")

It's sad that the actors didn't have confidence in their work to let the magic of a wonderful Broadway show weave its spell after the finale and rather felt it necessary to undercut a dramatic and uplifting appeal with a mere protest. Pence nevertheless showed gentlemanly grace in response, praising the play.

It's particularly ironic that the actor who delivered the protest played Vice President Aaron Burr, who killed Alexander Hamilton. In the drama as in the history books, Burr was clearly a bad man. His advice to Hamilton was sly and devious, as scripted in rhyme early in the musical: "Talk less. Smile more. Don't let them know what you're against or what you're for." Whatever angry feelings toward Burr lingered in the audience had to be overcome quickly for it to empathize with the actor who spoiled the magic with the bizarre curtain call.

That's too bad. When I saw "Hamilton," there were such good feelings from watching a talented, multiracial, multicultural cast sing and dance about the Founding Fathers that I thought it would inspire pride in how the American democracy was established. Who needs to know what the actors think when they slip into the identities of the characters onstage? Or, as Shakespeare's Hamlet says, "The play's the thing."

Alas, we live in contentious times, where theater and politics overlap, sometimes for better and often for worse. When Mike Pence walked into the theatre with his family, he heard boos and cheers, signaling that the audience recognized him and wanted him to hear what they thought. He later recalled telling his daughter, "That's what freedom sounds like" -- a needed note of grace in a wounded Thanksgiving season.

{jewishworldreview.com} ~ Throughout the U.S. presidential election campaign, Donald Trump repeatedly articulated disgust for the nuclear deal reached last year between Iran and world powers and promised to scrap it if he took office. But though Trump won the election about two weeks ago, the head of Iran's nuclear program, Ali Akbar Salehi, doesn't appear too concerned about the president-elect's threat.

Alongside President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Salehi was one of the main Iranian officials to take part in negotiations with counterparts from the United States and the other permanent members of the U.N. Security Council. The agreement put limits on Tehran's nuclear program in return for sanctions relief and the unfreezing of Iranian funds locked in foreign bank accounts.

Iranian officials have warned the United States that any steps to renege on the deal would potentially kill it - sounding the drums of war in the Middle East and sparking an international diplomatic crisis, with allies in Europe likely to be aggrieved by Washington's rejection of what took years of multilateral negotiation and coordination.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran acts upon its undertakings under the nuclear deal and we expect the other side to act upon its undertakings as well," Salehi said Tuesday, according to a report in the semiofficial Fars News Agency. "I imagine when the U.S. president practically takes the country's leadership, he will take actions on the basis of the realities."

Salehi added: "It is an international issue and we think that we will not face so many problems."

His public calm belies divisions within Iranian politics over the deal and the wisdom of negotiating anything with the United States, a longtime geopolitical foe. Some hard-liners close to the inner circle of Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, also have indicated their desire to tear up the agreement. Khamenei, for his part, said earlier this year that if Trump scraps the deal, "we will set fire to it."

Meanwhile, policy experts and officials in Washington, including those who staunchly opposed the Iran deal during its inception, also are cautioning against scrapping it - a move that would profoundly antagonize U.S. allies. Rather, they're pushing for a tightening of conditions and a re-imposition of sanctions so that Tehran will feel compelled to renegotiate some of the terms of the deal.

"We gave up . . . all of our leverage on the front end when we gave away the moneys that were stashed in various countries around the world, and so now the leverage is with them," Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., told MSNBC last week. "I think the beginning point is for us to cause them to strictly adhere [to the deal]. And I think that what we have to remember is, we have to keep the Europeans and others with us in this process."

Salehi had also played it cool before Trump was elected.

Eight years ago, Americans were so eager to elect a black president; they voted for a darling of left-wing extremists, Barack Obama. The corrupt, and likewise, leftist, main-stream media joined Democrats in hoisting Marxist Barack Obama upon their shoulders, carrying him to the White House.

This Marxist ideologue immediately declared war on traditional Americans, their culture, religion, laws, and the Constitution. His eight years of torturous tyrannical rule were agonizing for all freedom-loving Americans. Constitutionalists suffered through it all hoping and praying that at the end of the nightmare a miracle candidate would emerge. We were desperate for someone from beyond the binding chains of political chicanery that could stop the hemorrhaging of liberty and resurrect a long-sleeping giant.

Hillary Clinton, a not-so-bright, female political hack and clone of Barack Obama, was chosen by the left-wing lunatics to succeed the worst President in U.S. history. She pledged to preserve his legacy of Marxist tyranny, and continue his war on America; particularly white Christians. This totally corrupt and despicable woman claimed and exhibited only one qualification for President; marrying Bill Clinton.

Since the Ronald Reagan era, Republican politicians’ empty promises fell on disinterested conservative ears. They promised anything to get elected, and then fell into bed with the Washington establishment; never heard from again until the next election. Conservatives remained in a stupor for decades, realizing not one presidential candidate in either party did anything to propel them toward extraordinary action or allegiance.

This forgotten segment of society, benumbed by decades of main-stream media’ and politicians’ lies and promises, retreated into a quiet, introspective acceptance of the status quo.

Then, a clarion call came from a man who spoke in clear, straightforward, and uncompromising terms. Political correctness was a foreign concept to this man, as was multiculturalism, niceties, and made-up rules of politicians and the media. Supporters loved that he gave no quarter to the anti-American forces in America’s leftist political barrenness. When attacked, he retaliated mercilessly and relentlessly.

Donald Trump was a successful entrepreneur and business mogul with no political or government policy experience. Predictably, polish was something on his shoes, not in his oratory. He wasn’t tied to a political machine, and given a zero chance of success by political hacks, media morons, pointy-headed pundits, and the established political parties.

This Republican spoke plainly to disenfranchised Democrats, Republicans, independents, and first-time participants in the political process. He dove headlong into a political campaign using an unorthodox course of action never before witnessed in our nation.

Naturally, sparks ensued and the left exploded in a rage; as did the established Republicans. However, the quiet, forgotten Americans answered the call to patriots and erupted into a freedom-frenzy. They rose up, stood in massive lines, and suffered continuous derision and abuse to hear Donald Trump say the words they all craved; but feared they would never hear again. Similarly, countless numbers of those living on the Democrat plantations, and hard-working union members took heed and joined in this movement for the ages.

Ignoring mounting, withering attacks, this unconventional, innovator voiced conservative ideas and values, and countermanded the extreme Marxist, anti-American views of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and the New Socialist Democrat Party. He spoke of America-first in all dealings with foreign nations, and pounded repeatedly the simple, realistic idea that without secure borders, we will never have security or a country.

Second Amendment supporter, Donald Trump spoke to the hated gun owners, the Christians, the marginalized, and the despised set-asides from Obama’s leftist America. One-by-one he invalidated every policy, ideology, and tyrannical dictate from the destructive Democrats, and the go-along to-get along, mainstream Republicans.

It was a revolution set squarely against the destructive, Obama Marxist revolution.

Businessman Trump also knew that allowing a racehorse economy to again run freely, we must unhitch Obama’s heavy government wagon of regulations and taxes from businesses and corporations. Private sector jobs flourish only when market freedom exists.

The Real Goal - Eliminate the Electoral College

Many seem bewildered by the anti-Trump riots and demonstrations. And many keep trying to find a reasonable response. Give it up. You can't reason with them with words.

Here is my take. They know full well that they aren't going to overturn the election. These privately funded forces are being used to create pressure to destroy the Electoral College so they won't have to deal with it next election. This is how the Left operates. Make a big deal over here to force the hidden agenda over there. The plan is to make enough trouble that Congress will move to abolish the EC to get some peace.

For clues on who is behind this effort one only has to watch to see which member of Congress proposes such action. The answer of course is California Senator Barbara Boxer. It only took a week after the election for her to come to the rescue of the broken and distraught Left.

Meanwhile, hidden forces are now meeting with and brow beating members of the Electoral College to get them to change their vote from the true winner of their state and vote out Trump.

The danger is real and gaining ground. But it didn’t start with this election result. A campaign to eliminate the Electoral College and “let the people elect the president,” has been gaining steam for several years. A group called “National Popular Vote Interstate Compact,” started in 2006, has won commitments from eleven states to award their electoral votes to the winner of the popular vote. These include, Maryland, New Jersey, Illinois, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, Massachusetts, California, New York, Hawaii and the District of Columbia. These states control 165 electoral votes. They only need states representing 105 more electoral votes to join and the Electoral College will be a thing of the past. Meanwhile, such legislation is under consideration in Missouri, Oklahoma and Arizona, to name a few.

When a state passes legislation to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, it pledges that all of that state’s electoral votes will be given to whichever presidential candidate wins the popular vote nationwide. These bills will take effect only when states with a majority of the electoral votes have passed similar legislation. States with electoral votes totaling 270 of the 538 electoral votes would have to pass NPV bills before the compact kicks in and any state’s bill could take effect.

As usual, it’s easy to get people to join this cause - yet another sound bite based on emotion rather than knowledge or logic. “Let the people decide.” “It’s the American way.” “It’s Democracy at work.” Yep, that’s why America was never set up as a democracy. Here’s another sound bite for you - “Democracy is a lynch mob.”- Here’s another one - “Democracy is three wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.” Majority rule violates the rights of minorities. It’s not a good thing. Get the picture?

The United States was created by the individual sovereign states. They were already free and independent governments on their own. As they came together to create a central government they feared it would grow too strong and overpower the states, making them subjugated to the central government. So, to prevent that, the states created the Electoral College to make the election of the President a STATE election.

Throughout history, certain factions have challenged the legality of the Electoral College. Opponents point out that our President is actually elected by 538 virtually unknown people who are members of 51 small delegations in fifty States and the District of Columbia. Moreover, in most states the electors are not even bound to vote for the candidate that won the popular vote. In fact, many Constitutional scholars believe that’s just what the founders intended, 538 independent thinkers, bound to no one. There is reason and logic behind the idea.

The Founding Fathers, particularly those from small States, were very concerned that they would be smothered by the larger states. Under the representative republic (not a democracy) established by the founders, the United States is made up of fifty sovereign States. Under the Constitution, except for limited powers specifically defined for the central government, power for the rule of law is intended to reside in the States.

To deal with the problem, the founders decided on a compromise that would establish two chambers for the Congress; the House of Representatives, whose size would be dictated by the population in each state and the Senate in which every state would get two representatives, regardless of its size or population. You see, in the beginning, the states appointed Senators to be their representatives in Congress. But, like these so-called scholars of today who want to wreck the Electoral College, previous “experts” came up with the idea that Senators should be elected by the people ? “It’s only fair,” wentt the mantra! The result is an imperial Senate that answers to no one but their own elite club members. That’s what happens when you mess with the real genius of the Constitution.

The same problem arose in deciding how to select a President, the one nationally-elected official. Here again there was the fear that election by popular vote would overwhelm the will of smaller States. Again, compromise was reached to address the issue in a fair and equitable manner in order to maintain the power of the states. Each state was assigned a number of presidential electoral votes equal to its representation in the House and the Senate. In each state, the electors would vote for a President and Vice President. The candidate receiving the largest number of electoral votes would be elected.

Under the plan, the connection to the popular vote was the selection of state electors. The popular vote was to be used to select individuals trusted by the people to select the President. Each presidential candidate has a slate of electors committed to them. As the people vote for a candidate, they are actually electing his/her slate of electors. Again, the selection of electors goes directly to local control of the process. Under the Constitution, even the smallest state was assured at least three votes in the process. To provide a further check to protect the smaller states, in the event no candidate won a majority of the electoral vote, the names of the top five would go to the House of Representatives, where each state delegation would cast one vote for one of the candidates. In this process each state, again, is equal.

To understand the Electoral College one must realize that the Founders considered the states as the dominate power in the nation. Election of the office of President was a bit like the selection of the Chairman of the Board, with the states serving as the board of directors for the nation. The great mistake Electoral College opponents make is to believe the President was supposed to be elected by the people. It was never the plan.

There are fundamental and often regional differences in how Americans view the role of government and the leaders they elect to run it. Little wonder those who seek to strengthen the power of the central government prefer that elections be decided by the popular vote. It’s a great sound bite- but the results will not give “the people” the “fair” result they desire.

Such a move will eliminate the power of individual states in favor of elections decided by the population of large, politically liberal cities. I’ve actually heard it said by residents of California, San Francisco, in particular, “why do we even let people in Ohio and Iowa vote?” Such elitism is behind the “National Popular Vote” movement which apparently believes that only the East and West Coasts count. The rest is just flyover country.

Keep these facts in mind as we watch the enforcement of Sustainable Development policies that lead to Smart Growth cities. The stated plans of such ideas are that most people will eventually be ‘persuaded” to leave the rural areas and migrate to the cities. In addition, we now are witnessing the invasion of illegal immigrants who normally land in such communities and swell their size.

The “feel good” propaganda of the National Popular Vote movement insists that a popular vote would not change the face of the nation. However, by design or not, the fact is their scheme plays right into the hands of the Sustainablists who openly seek top down control through the establishment of mega cities. By forcing the massive majority of citizens into such areas, a majority vote in just a few will drown any other area in the nation.

In such a planned agenda for the 21st Century, individuals living in the majority of the nation’s territory will quickly learn how little their “popular vote” counts if the Electoral College is abandoned by the “National Popular Vote” scheme. Those smaller states (and therefore their votes) may have no impact on the election of the President, just as our founders feared. Control by a few over the many can only be defined as tyranny.

The abolishment of the Electoral College would, in fact, establish an election tyranny giving control of the government to the massive population centers of the nation’s Northeastern sector, along with the area around Los Angeles. If these sections of the nation were to control the election of our nation’s leaders, the voice of the ranchers and farmers of the Mid and Far West would be lost, along with the values and virtues of the South. It would also mean the end of the Tenth Amendment and state sovereignty.

Not happy to even let the states decide if they want to support the idea of the National Popular vote or not, the hard Left has manufactured the unrest in the streets to pressure a fast solution. Senator Boxer has answered the call with immediate legislation to end the Electoral College. Her bill masquerades as the answer to the people’s unrest. And the deal is done. Just like that. In the end, the result will have nothing to do with Donald Trump. He is just the convenient excuse.

Allow that to happen now and the great silent majority of middle America in this nation will never again have a fair say in who is elected our president. And that is the true goal of today’s unrest.
