AT least 25 people have been injured – with fears Brits are among those hurt – after masked gunmen started shooting inside a resort in the capital of Philippines.
Explosions were also heard at Resorts World Manila in Pasay City at around midnight local time – as terrified witnesses said they saw guests jumping from the second floor of the hotel.

France: Guantanamo inmate released by Obama arrested for recruiting for the Islamic State

A former Guantanamo Bay inmate is among six people from an alleged Isis recruiting network who have been detained in France.
Among the suspects arrested was Sabir Mahfouz Lahmar, who was freed from the US detention centre in Cuba in 2009 after France agreed to accept him, said a judicial official.
The US Justice Department later backed off the allegations, but held the men at Guantanamo for several years. The former French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, agreed to take Lahmar in April 2009 and he moved to Bordeaux later that year.
The French official said Lamar, at 48, is the oldest of the four men and two women who were arrested and said that there were no indications the group was plotting an attack.
Five of the suspects were detained in Bordeaux and one in Paris in a series of raids on Monday.
The arrests follow a series of foiled Isis-linked terror plots in France, which remains under a repeatedly extended state of emergency.The country has been the target of terror attacks leaving around 240 people dead since 2014, including massacres in Paris and Nice.
Vigilance has been increased since a suicide bombing in Manchester killed 22 people last week, with police investigating the bomber’s potential foreign links.
Isis has called for an escalation in global terror attacks by its followers during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

There are no surprises on the bodycam. We knew. We knew immediately. The police knew immediately. Everybody knows.
In the Pulse attack, we knew it was jihad when devout Muslim Omar Mateen called 911 in the middle of his mass slaughter and pledged his allegiance to the Islamic State. But it didn’t matter. It never does. Little girls singing and dancing with pure joy at a pop concert one moment, then targeted for death with a bomb designed for maximum pain, suffering and death. Nails, nuts, shrapnel designed to tear into flesh and bone. That didn’t matter. Co-workers and holiday revelers at an office Christmas party in San Bernardino didn’t matter. Moms and dads and their kids celebrating Independence day (Bastille day) in France didn’t matter. Concert goers dancing at a music hall in Paris were shot down like dogs, their eyes gouged out eyes, many castrated with their testicles shoved in their mouths, others disemboweled, women were reportedly stabbed in the genitals – and the torture was filmed for Islamic propaganda. That didn’t matter. Children skipping to class at a Jewish day school mowed down by a devout Muslim who filmed it for Islamic purposes didn’t matter. Writers, cartoonists and editors at a French weekly murdered in cold blood didn’t matter.
Instead those in power in media, in government, in academia weep for the perps and their co-religionists. They loathe those who oppose. Respect the ideology that incites unspeakable savagery, so we are told. Do not hurt their feelings. They decry those of us who fight back. World leaders and Democrats are enraged that President Donald Trump pulled the US out of the Paris Climate Accord. Trump says, "It was a terrible deal that crushed hardworking Americans and handed over our country's future to global power brokers. Now those very same special interests-the fake news media, Hollywood lobbyists, and the entire corrupt establishment--is attacking us from all fronts." Climate change is a globalist money laundering scheme to redistribute wealth using scare tactics of unproven and fraudulent "science." Trump is putting an end to it and the fallout is immense. In 2008 the very scientists working on climate change denounced it. But the lie was repeated. Here is the truth.
Scientists at the University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit (CRU), the official source of global warming/climate change data, fabricated the data. It is a lie perpetuated by politicians. The UK Telegraph, once an advocate of global warming, had a turn about in 2008. Environmentalist reporter James Delingpole blew the whistle on scientists after he obtained 1079 emails and 72 documents from the CRU. He wrote in 2009 that scientists were practicing "Conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organized resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more."
Also in December of 2008 some 650 scientists refuted the concept of global warming. Nobel Prize winner for physics Ivar Giaever said, "I am a skeptic. . . Global warming has become a new religion." One of the UN's own IPCC scientists from Japan, Dr. Kiminori Itoh, said in the report that global warming fears are "the worst scientific scandal in the history...When people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists." Environmental scientist Delgado Domingos of Portugal says, "The present alarm on climate change is an instrument of social control, a pretext for major businesses and political battle." These are the earthly facts behind the climate change fraud, but there is also Biblical truth.
Genesis 1:28 defines man's role in the environment, "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion . . . over every living thing that moves upon the earth." And after the great flood of Noah's time, God promised in Genesis 8:22, "While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease." Jesus said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." We should not be deceived by those using fear of the earth's destruction to create a new religion and a new social order. We should use these earthly facts and the Biblical truth to educate others about this political scam.

City: You Can’t Sell Blueberries Unless You Affirm Gay Marriage
. . .This year city officials told the devout Catholic family [Tennes family] that their blueberries and sweet corn were not welcome at the farmer’s market — and neither were they.
Last year, someone posted a message on Country Mill’s Facebook page inquiring about whether they hosted same-sex weddings at the farm. Tennes told the individual they did not permit same-sex marriages on the farm because of the family’s Catholic belief that marriage is a sacramental union between one man and one woman.
City officials later discovered the Facebook posting and began immediate action to remove Country Mill from the Farmer’s Market — alleging the family had violated the city’s discrimination ordinance.
“It was brought to our attention that The Country Mill’s general business practices do not comply with East Lansing’s Civil Rights ordinances and public policy against discrimination as set forth in Chapter 22 of the City Code and outlined in the 2017 Market Vendor Guidelines, as such, The Country Mill’s presence as a vendor his prohibited by the City’s Farmer’s Market Vendor Guidelines,” read a letter the city sent to the family.
It also did not seem to matter to city leaders that the farm is located 22 miles outside the city limits — and had absolutely nothing to do with the business of selling blueberries at the farmer’s market. Where Is the Special Prosecutor for Hillary and Barack?
Every time I think we have plumbed the depths of stupidity among congressional Republicans, someone comes along to prove that we are so far from the bottom that we can’t even see it.
Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.), supposedly an up-and-coming conservative “star” in the U.S. Senate, proudly announced that the Senate Intelligence Committee had voted to give itself “blanket authority to issue subpoenas” regarding the investigation into Russian election meddling. This means the Democrats have been granted unrestricted license to go after President Trump despite what is obviously a partisan witch hunt.
How could Republicans be so stupid? We have just barely survived eight years of unrestrained criminality by Obama, two successive attorneys general –Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch– who turned the Justice Department into an extremist partisan attack machine that stood the rule of law on its head. We also endured the shenanigans of serial criminal co-conspirator, Hillary Clinton, who gave Russia a 20 percent stake in U.S. weapons-grade uranium production and auctioned off her influence as secretary of state to the highest bidder.
Unlike the Trump/Russia fantasy, these are not mere allegations. There is proof of their criminality, real proof. Not just hearsay, not just anonymous sources “leaking” documents that no one has seen, and stories whose sources they won’t publicly disclose.
Judicial Watch’s Director of Investigations, Chris Farrell, recently posted a YouTube video that describes the unprecedented depth of this documented criminality by the Obama administration as reported on by the website Circa.
A recently declassified top secret court document from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court proves it. This is the court that decides what federal agencies can and cannot do in carrying out surveillance activities against foreigners when U.S. citizens are involved. The court lays out the issue:
On October 24, 2016, the government orally apprised the Court of significant non-compliance with the NSA’s minimization procedures involving queries of data acquired under Section 702 [of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act ] using U.S. person identifiers.
In plain English, this refers to the Obama administration’s illegal preoccupation with surveillance of U.S. citizens. The court goes on:
Since 2011, NSA’s minimization procedures have prohibited use of U.S.-person identifiers to query the results of upstream Internet collections under Section 702. The Oct. 26, 2016 notice informed the court that NSA analysts had been conducting such queries in violation of that prohibition, with much greater frequency than had been previously disclosed to the Court.
In other words, the Obama administration had been illegally identifying Americans and hiding the extent of its surveillance against them. At the Oct. 26 hearing, the court found that “the problem was widespread during all periods under review,” adding these activities present “a very serious Fourth Amendment issue.”
The Circa article asserts, “the admitted violations undercut one of the primary defenses that the intelligence community and Obama officials have used in recent weeks to justify their snooping into incidental NSA intercepts about Americans.”
Farrell states that the Obama administration “has abused and misused the National Security Agency in a way no one ever even pondered before. This is the sort of stuff that would make Richard Nixon blush. It is beyond the pale. It’s like nothing else we’ve ever seen.”
Rand Paul was quoted in the Circa article, saying, “If we determine this to be true, this is an enormous abuse of power. This will dwarf all other stories… There are hundreds and hundreds of people.”
The ACLU weighed in, but blamed it all on the intelligence agencies without mentioning the Obama administration’s abuses. As noted by Circa, “newly disclosed violations are some of the most serious to ever be documented and strongly call into question the U.S. intelligence community’s ability to police itself and safeguard American’s privacy.” Typical of the Left, the ACLU uses these egregious abuses as an opportunity to discredit the NSA and others. But the ACLU should know it is never the bureaucrats who do this alone. They invariably are taking orders from their political bosses, in this case then President Obama.
We should have seen this coming. (Of course some of us did but the political class had its blinders on). Obama was overstepping his authority before he was even elected. In 2008, then presidential candidate Obama interfered with President Bush’s foreign policy by trying to talk Iraqis out of an agreement with Bush to keep U.S. forces in Iraq. As we now know, it was Obama’s reckless premature pullout from Iraq that returned the nation to anarchy – forcing us now to expend even more blood and treasure to help the Iraqis recapture it from ISIS. And what about Obama’s whispered promise to then-Russian President Dmitri Medvedev that “after my election I have more flexibility.” Flexibility for what? To surrender even more of our missile defense capability?
What about that uranium deal?
Trump has repeatedly accused Hillary of giving “20 percent of America’s uranium supply to Russia.” Snopes and PolitiFact rate the assertion as false and mostly false. We know both of those organizations skew heavily left, especially Snopes, and go out of their way to protect the Clintons. So is it true or false?
It has been widely reported that the Clinton Foundation received $145 million after Hillary Clinton allowed Russia’s nuclear energy agency to purchase a controlling interest in Uranium One, a Canada-based company that mines uranium in states containing 20 percent of U.S. capacity. Snopes and company claim Hillary was not involved in the deal, that it was delegated to then-Assistant Secretary of State Jose Fernandez, and that the State Department is only one of nine agencies on the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) that decides such matters.
Regardless of who actually sat at the CFIUS table, Clinton is ultimately responsible for such decisions, and do you really think Fernandez would have made such a momentous decision without her blessing? Moreover, would the other agencies dare to vote against Hillary’s agency? Highly doubtful.
Hillary apologists also try to disassociate the Clinton Foundation’s string of receipts from Russia as though the two were entirely unrelated. Did they give the Clintons $145 million just for yucks? The New York Times, not exactly a bastion of conservatism, lays it out.
So I ask: where is the special prosecutor for Obama, Holder, Lynch and Clinton?
And what about all the leaks? Have any of those weak-kneed members of Congress used their substantial authority to compel the FBI and/or intelligence agencies to investigate and uncover the leakers? Unlike the unsubstantiated allegations about Trump, these are federal crimes.
If unproven allegations of Trump/Russian collusion in the 2016 elections are worthy of a special prosecutor, are the litany of Hillary’s activities not? These are events that actually occurred, not undocumented accusations by partisan Democrats. Ditto with Obama. If the flimsy allegations against Trump are worthy of a special prosecutor, Obama and Hillary’s crimes merit a treason prosecution. But will we even see a special prosecutor for them?
So in tribute to the many GOP imbeciles in Congress, I am starting a hashtag, #STUPIDPARTY. I hope you will use it in tweets to our illustrious Members of Congress and give them holy hell for joining Democrats in their overt effort to destroy this president and bring down his administration.

Obama Goes Full Jackass in Desperate Attempt to Stay Relevant
Barack Obama just couldn’t help himself. As President Donald Trump took steps to withdraw from the Paris climate accords, undoing one of Obama’s most egregious executive overreaches, the former president released a statement criticizing Trump.
“The nations that remain in the Paris Agreement will be the nations that reap the benefits in jobs and industries created,” Obama said. “But even in the absence of American leadership; even as this Administration joins a small handful of nations that reject the future; I’m confident that our states, cities, and businesses will step up and do even more to lead the way …”
“The absence of American leadership”? Really, Mr. Obama?
Let’s talk about the absence of American leadership the voters just freed themselves from after eight years of Obama’s pathetic presidency.
Under President Obama’s absent economic leadership, the U.S. economy stalled at an anemic 1.9 percent growth rate from which the economy finally seems to be emerging under President Trump.
Under President Obama’s absent health care leadership, premiums skyrocketed because Obamacare’s market-distorting policies saw favorable health insurance plans disappear from countless American workers and families.
Under President Obama’s absent leadership abroad, America’s enemies were emboldened. The Middle East became more dangerous with the rise of ISIS. Iran is in open violation of the nuclear deal Obama negotiated. Between apology tours, crossed red lines, and the hollowing out of the American military, Obama’s foreign policy was an unmitigated disaster.
What successes can Obama claim? In his statement Thursday, the former president cites his past negotiations on the Paris accord as “principled American leadership.” His negotiations would have bound America to a jobs-killing, economy-constraining, wealth-redistributing deal — all without the consent of Congress.
President Trump provided real American leadership Thursday by putting the good of American citizens above the demands of Big Business and foreign bureaucrats. The American people don’t need Obama inserting himself into Trump’s successes to undermine the current, relevant president with the former, irrelevant president’s foolish left-wing talking points. Like any policy discussion, the field of science can be easily distorted and misconstrued when it lacks proper perspective and insight. The New York Times performed this masterfully in a recent climate piece, "Mapping 50 Years of Melting Ice in Glacier National Park." The article's objective was to tug at Americans' heartstrings by highlighting the supposedly exceptional amount of ice melt occurring in northern Montana, where glaciers "shrank by more than a third between 1966 and 2015, according to new data from the United States Geological Survey and Portland State University in Oregon."
To help readers understand how their carbon footprint is disposing America of its ice age relics, the Times publishes myriad images to visually (and emotionally) document the receding glaciers. The article then stipulates, "Glacier National Park's eponymous ice formations have been around for more than 7,000 years, and have survived warmer and cooler periods. But they have been shrinking rapidly since the late 1800s, when North America emerged from the 'Little Ice Age,' a period of regionally colder, snowier weather that lasted for roughly 400 years. (At its founding in 1910, the park had at least 150 glaciers, most of which are now gone.) After the end of the Little Ice Age, glaciers across the Western United States, Canada and Europe lost ice as temperatures rebounded. But scientists have attributed more recent melting to human-caused global warming."
By what objective temperature measurements? Well, the Times doesn't say, and nefariously so. As Robert Tracinski observes, this form of climate deception has become a pattern at the Times. He writes, "There is no science without numbers. Science can't get by on qualitative descriptions. If you say the average global temperature in 2016 was 'higher' than in 2015, that's not science. It could be a lot higher or a little higher. It could be a number that is enormous, or it could be a number that is literally insignificant. (And if they don't tell you the number, guess which of those it is likely to be.)"
The Times knows such disclaimers could jeopardize its message, which is the real motivation for its refusing to publish temperature minutiae. Why else would it neglect to report that regional temperatures around Glacier National Park have actually been flat for more than a century? Global warming is real — few dispute that. But if temperatures aren't rising in tandem around GNP, there has to be more to the story for why glaciers are receding at an ostensibly faster rate because of human activity. None of this matters, however, because, as Tracinski opines, the Times is predisposed to believe that "nothing can be attributed to mere natural causes any more. It all has to be because of global warming."
In January, The Wall Street Journal wisely editorialized that "nuances are important, because phrases such as 'hottest year ever' are waved around as a pretext for political action that usually involves giving more control over the economy to governments." Sadly, the Times continues to borrow from the same playbook. After Donald Trump's election in November, Times officials promised to "rededicate ourselves to the fundamental mission of Times journalism. That is to report America and the world honestly, without fear or favor, striving always to understand and reflect all political perspectives and life experiences in the stories that we bring to you." No, Trump Didn't Cause liar-nObamacare to Fail

{townhall.com} ~ It's finally official. The Affordable Care Act is a public-policy flop of epic proportions. That's the only possible conclusion from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City announcement last week that it will drop out of many markets in Kansas and Missouri. The firm lost $100 million under the liar-nObamacare insurance exchanges from 2014 to 2016. This is another body blow to the government-insurance system Barack liar-nObama created in 2010. Blue Cross is one of the biggest health insurers in the nation, and now 25 more counties in these states will have no insurer left.
Nearly every news outlet buried this alarming story and instead shouted in headlines across the country: "23 Million More Uninsured Under GOP Plan." This was based on the Congressional Budget Office's estimate of the impact of the House repeal and replace plan.
Those are troubling numbers for sure, but they're misleading given the Blue Cross news. If we stay with liar-nObamacare, within a few years tens of millions will have no insurance that is even remotely affordable. Aetna, Humana and other major insurers in just recent months have fled liar-nObamacare. The Titanic has hit the iceberg, and it is rapidly sinking; yet the left and the media keep fiddling on the deck. They act as though this can be fixed with "minor reforms," but there aren't enough bandages in America to stitch this back together.
Even more absurd is the idea that Donald Trump and the Republicans are the ones responsible for the insurers' leaving and the premiums' skyrocketing. If you want a bellyaching laugh, here is an excerpt from a lead story from The New York Times last week: "(Insurers complain that) the Trump administration and Congress are rattling the markets. The administration's refusal to guarantee payment of subsidies to health insurance companies, the murky outlook for the Affordable Care Act in Congress and doubts about enforcement of the mandate for most people to have insurance are driving up insurance prices for 2018, insurers say in rate requests filed with state officials."
Stop the presses! What a shock: The insurers say they want more handouts from the government. Trump is supposedly the villain because he won't force families to buy insurance that they can't possibly afford given the massive premium hikes that liar-nObama promised would never happen. This is rich.
Then this showstopper, also from The New York Times: "Opponents of President Barack liar-nObama's signature legislative achievement have made what may be a self-fulfilling prophecy: They repeatedly forecast the collapse of the health law, and then push it along."
Now let's get serious. Blue Cross Blue Shield Kansas is leaving the market because they lost tens of millions of dollars two and three years ago -- long before anyone even imagined Trump running for president. The Wall Street Journal, Heritage Foundation, Cato Institute and others predicted this exact collapse from the day the bill was enacted seven years ago. Trump isn't the one who caused the recent nationwide 25 percent increase in premiums.
It is true that many of the insurers say one reason they are leaving the exchanges is because of "uncertainty" about what will happen with the insurance market next year. But liar-Hillary Clinton would have been facing the same crisis. It is the height of anti-Trump derangement to say that Trump caused that uncertainty. How in the world can you blame the growth of a cancerous tumor on the doctor who is brought in to treat it?
Republicans have to do a much better job of explaining their plan and providing Americans better and cheaper options.
But liberals have to get over themselves and acknowledge that liar-nObamacare is long beyond fixable. Cynthia Cox of the Kaiser Family Foundation, a supporter of liar-nObamacare, glumly told Business Insider last week after the BCBS retreat from the exchange markets, "If the Blue Cross Blue Shield plans or Anthem pull out of the exchanges, then that would be a serious problem for many parts of the country. ... Whenever there is one insurance company right now, it almost always is either a Blue Cross Blue Shield or Anthem plan. It goes to show how much the exchanges rely on those plans."
By the end of the year we could have nearly half the country without insurers if this spiral continues. What we have here is the domestic policy equivalent of the Bay of Pigs.
And make no mistake about it: This calamity is liar-nObama's legacy, not Trump's.

It purports to be from a girlfriend of Rich’s named Claudia Kash. He notes that that is not the same girlfriend who was pictured with the Rich family when they visited the scene of the crime in August of 2016. Still acknowledges that Rich could easily have had two girlfriends, “So let’s see what Claudia Kash had to say. This letter,” he says, “is dated July 21st, about two weeks after his death.” She details a duplicate set of polling locations, one for the general public which were listed on state websites, and another for liar-Hillary Clinton supporters which were identified on the liar-Clinton website. The locations listed on the liar-Clinton website were not known to the various Secretaries of State and were not on state records. {westernjournalism.com} ~ Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton on Monday dismissed German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s criticism of President Donald Trump as motivated by both her own political concerns and Trump’s pressure on Europe to pay for its own defense.
Merkel recently expressed her dissatisfaction with Trump’s refusal to say that he would agree to abide by the Paris accord on climate change, which he had criticized as a candidate.
“The times in which we can fully count on others are somewhat over, as I have experienced in the past few days,” Merkel said Sunday in remarks viewed as a direct criticism of Trump. “And that is why I can only say: We Europeans must really take our destiny into our own hands.”
She described the climate talks as “very difficult, if not to say, very unsatisfactory.”
“Here is a situation where it’s six, seven if you include the EU, against one,” she said. “That means there are so far no signs whether the United States of America will remain in the Paris agreement or not.”
Merkel said EU members wish to maintain “good neighborly relations wherever possible” with other nations, but added that “we have to know that we have to fight for our future and our fate ourselves as Europeans.”
Speaking on Fox News Monday, Bolton said Merkel, who was a close ally of former President Barack liar-nObama, was motivated by two main issues.
“There’s a German election coming up and that has a lot to do with it,” he said.
The wider issue at stake, he said, is Trump’s rejection of what Bolton called “EU theology” that calls for “greater government control over the economy and ceding of power to “institutions of global governance.”
“Chancellor Merkel has said this before,” Bolton said. “Her ire is directed not only against the United States on the Paris agreement but also against Prime Minister Theresa May of the United Kingdom, who joined with President Trump on many key issues.”
At the end of its recent meeting, the G7 noted that the United States was a holdout on the Paris accord.
“I thought it was extraordinarily unusual for the G7 to have a communiqué that isolated one of its members. I’m not aware that that has ever happened before on any significant issue,” said Bolton.
“You do not have to believe that the political approach of the Paris accord is the right way to go,” Bolton said.
Underneath it all, Bolton said, Merkel and others were “stung” by Trump’s public scolding of NATO members to pay their agreed-upon share to support Europe’s defense.
“It was the right thing to say publicly,” Bolton noted, because past administrations that have made private pleas have seen those requests ignored.

CLEXIT: DUMP PARIS CLIMATE FRAUD ACCORDS

If the Associated Press report is accurate, President Trump is going to pull the United States out of the Paris Climate Accords, an economic albatross based on junk science the rest of the world wants to hang around the neck of the United States. It could happen as soon as the day after tomorrow. As the AP reported:
President Donald Trump is expected to pull the United States from a landmark global climate agreement, a White House official said Wednesday, though there could be "caveats in the language" announcing a withdrawal, leaving open the possibility that his decision isn't final….
Trump tweeted on Wednesday morning: "I will be announcing my decision on the Paris Accord over the next few days. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
Well, the only way to make America great again is to renounce the Paris Climate Accords as the scripture of a false climate change religion. The Accords would doom Trump’s plans to resurrect American energy production and liberate fossil fuels from the chains of regulation. It would make no sense to agree to the Accords after ending the war on coal and relieving industry, particularly the energy industry, from oppressive and job-killing regulations.
Yes, the earth has been warming. It has been warming ever since the Little Ice Age. That is a good thing, Crops love CO2 and longer growing seasons – good news for a hungry world. The fact is that global temperatures have essentially flat lined in the past two decades.
Recently published data from independent meteorologists Dr Ryan Maue of WeatherBELL Analytics and Dr Roy Spencer show that global temperatures have fallen back to about the levels of 20 years ago despite our alleged gushing of CO2….
The explanation of the temperature pause since 1998 – which contradicts the computer models used by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) – has been the subject of widespread discussion in academic journals, including the American Geophysical Union journal, Geophysical Research Letters, as well as Climate Dynamics, and the Scientific Report of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. All agree that temperature rises have stalled, but there is no consensus on the cause.
Dr Roy Spencer publishes every month the average global temperature derived from satellite observations. Since 1979, satellites have been sending back to earth data on the temperature of the lower atmosphere, and this data is published by the University of Alabama, Huntsville (UAH) and on Dr Spencer’s website.
The satellite data indicates that average temperatures in April 2017 were 0.27 degrees above the 30-year average from 1981–2010. In the previous month, the data showed that the temperature was just 0.19 degrees above the 30-year average. The IPCC had forecast temperature variations five to 10 times as large.
William Happer, Cyrus Fogg Brocket Professor of Physics, Emeritus, at Princeton University, writes in the Washington Times that CO2, which every human being exhales, is a blessing and not a curse:
Climate has been changing since the Earth was formed — some 4.5 billion years ago — according to geological evidence. Climate changes on every time scale — decades, centuries, millennia and even longer periods.
The climate of Greenland really was warm enough for farming around the year 1100, and the Little Ice Age really did drive Norse settlers out of Greenland by the year 1500. Like these changes, the very minor warming we have had over the past few centuries is mostly from non-human causes.
Each human exhales about two pounds of CO2 a day from simply being alive. Living creatures, humans, animals and plants are largely made of carbon. Carbon dioxide is essential to the growth of plants. By the standards of geological history, plants have been coping with a CO2 famine for several tens of millions of years. Satellites already show dramatic greening of the Earth as CO2 levels begin recovery toward their historical norms. These were measured in thousands of parts per million (ppm), not today’s puny 400 ppm.
Ironically, the American energy industry through innovate technology has done more to reduce emissions of so-called “greenhouse gases” than any parchment agreement could ever have. It is fracking that has produced a boom in the production of natural gas, a fossil fuel, that has produced a significant reduction in the U.S. of those so-called “greenhouse gases”. As the Washington Times reported:
White House senior advisor Brian Deese cheered the falling carbon dioxide levels at a Monday press conference without mentioning the outsize role played by natural gas, as the cleaner-burning fuel increasingly overtakes coal in electricity generation.
“For those of you who are not breathlessly following the most recent data that has come out, I would note recent data that we’ve seen suggests or finds that for the first half of 2016, energy sector emissions in the United States are actually down 6 percent from last year, and 15 percent from 2005,” said Mr. Deese. “And they’re at their lowest level in nearly 20 years.”
He said nothing about the U.S. natural gas boom, an omission that critics say has become par for the course as the Obama administration highlights renewable energy and emissions restrictions without acknowledging the role of fracking in natural gas extraction.
“To add dishonesty to injury, his administration is bragging about the reduced CO2 emissions of [the] U.S. industry without crediting the fracking for natural gas, a fossil fuel, that largely caused it,” said Alex Epstein, author of the book “The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels.”
There us no moral case to mage for the recipe for global povery that the Paris Accords represent. As Sen. Ted Cruz notes at CNN Opinion, the Paris Accords is akin to trying to repeal the Industrial Revolution. It would be a lot of economic pain for little or no temperature gain:
Following a successful international tour and the G-7 Summit in Italy, President Trump has an opportunity to relieve our nation of the unfair and economically devastating requirements of the Paris Agreement, the United Nations climate treaty he pledged to rip up during the campaign….
According to a recent National Economic Research Associates Economic Consulting study, the Paris Agreement could obliterate $3 trillion of GDP, 6.5 million industrial sector jobs and $7,000 in per capita household income from the American economy by 2040. Meeting the 2025 emissions reduction target alone could subtract $250 billion from our GDP and eliminate 2.7 million jobs. The cement, iron and steel, and petroleum refining industries could see their production cut by 21% 19%, and 11% respectively….
In return for crippling our economy, the Paris Agreement would do next to nothing to impact global temperatures. Under the EPA's own models, if all carbon emissions in America were basically eliminated, global temperatures would only decrease by less than two-tenths of a degree Celsius.
While the agreement would have a negligible impact on temperatures, America would be putting itself at a competitive disadvantage. That's because while the Obama administration irresponsibly committed America to immediate, real cuts in emissions, our global economic competitors would have no such handicap. In fact, Russia is permitted to increase its emissions approximately 50% and China and India have no meaningful cap on emissions until 2030.
President Trump has made a crusade against unfair trade deals. This climate deal is an economic disaster which has more to do with the global elites gain control over the world’s economy. They want to control and regulate the means of production and dictate every minute aspect of our daily lives – just as President Obama sought to do. Hey, isn’t that the classic definition of Marxism?.
Global warming hype is nothing more an attempt by climate change scammers to impose what has become a religion. MIT Professor Richard Lindzen is quoted in the Daily Caller questioning the tenets of this new religion:
Throughout history, governments have twisted science to suit a political agenda. Global warming is no different, according to Dr. Richard Lindzen of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
“Global climate alarmism has been costly to society, and it has the potential to be vastly more costly. It has also been damaging to science, as scientists adjust both data and even theory to accommodate politically correct positions,” writes Lindzen in the fall 2013 issue of the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons….
Lindzen compares global warming to past politicized scientific movements: the eugenics movement in the early 20th Century and Lysenkoism in the Soviet Union under Stalin. However, the MIT professor argues that global warming goes even beyond what these past movements in terms of twisting science.
“Global Warming has become a religion,” writes Lindzen. “A surprisingly large number of people seem to have concluded that all that gives meaning to their lives is the belief that they are saving the planet by paying attention to their carbon footprint.”
The goal is to use climate change as a means to increase government power over every aspect of our lives, what we make, how we make it, what energy we use, what cars we drive, even what food we eat. The scientific record, as Investor’s Business Daily notes, shows that climate change is a scam:
…a paper published recently in the journal Global Environmental Change found that carbon dioxide emissions are essentially self-regulating and that after countries reach a higher GDP level, CO2 emissions either stabilize or even decline, without the need for carbon taxes or carbon capture technology.
Here in the U.S., the fracking revolution has released from our vast shale formations vast natural-gas deposits that have done more to reduce carbon emissions than any IPCC report.
A study published late last year by the Energy Information Administration reported that the "carbon intensity" of the electricity produced in the U.S. actually fell by 13% from 2007 to 2012.
British climate-change skeptic Lord Christopher Monckton recently pointed out at Marc Morano's Climate Depot that the "Great Pause" in global temperatures — now at 18 years and counting — has occurred even as carbon dioxide concentrations have risen.
This 18-year period constitutes roughly half the satellite observation period that began in 1979.
Physicist Gordon Fulks of the Cascade Policy Institute notes that the warming pause since 1997 has occurred while atmospheric CO2 concentrations have increased 25%.
"CO2 is responsible for global warming that is not occurring, for accelerated sea-level rise that is not occurring ... and for increasing extreme weather that is not occurring," he states.
Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant but the source of all plant and animal life. Even if emissions were a threat, and they are not, it's prosperity and the technology that comes with it, such as fracking, that reduce overall emissions in the atmosphere.
And now the high priests of the global warming religion are demanding what other false religions have demanded – human sacrifices upon their altar.

By James Shott: President Donald Trump released his first budget proposal last week, while Trump was on his first overseas trip visiting Saudi Arabia, Israel, the Vatican and NATO. Trump's $4.1 trillion budget plan is titled "A New Foundation for American Greatness."
Predictably, upon its release Democrats burst forth to condemn the budget. A couple of congressional Democrats eagerly, and with as much flourish as they could muster, termed the proposal "dead on arrival" which, like so much of what they say, is much ado about nothing. Every budget proposal from every president is "dead on arrival," the word "proposal" being the operative word. A president's proposal is merely his desired starting point.
Since you can't change the channel without seeing the negative coverage of everything Trump says or does, this article will summarize the positive elements of the proposal.
First, House Speaker Paul Ryan said in support of the budget plan, "We can finally turn the page on the liar-nObama era of bloated budgets that never balance." Furthermore, he said, "President Trump has proven his commitment to fiscal responsibility with a budget that ... prioritizes American taxpayers over bureaucrats in Washington."
Regarding budgeted income redistribution, White House budget Director Mick Mulvaney notes, "There's not a single thing [cut] from Social Security or Medicare. Why? Because that's what [President Trump] promised." However, other programs such as Medicaid and food stamps will see cuts — which, of course, has leftists screaming about Trump supposedly robbing the poor.
"We look at spending differently," Mulvaney explained. "We are not going to measure compassion by the number of programs or [the number of] people on them." How refreshing after eight years of being told the only good thing in the world is a government handout.
Trump's proposal focuses on national defense areas by boosting spending on the military and border security. Focusing on national defense through restoring the military and tightening our borders are badly needed corrections to critical failures and strategic objectives of Barack liar-nObama's administration. The last eight years saw serious weakening of the military and policies that encouraged illegal entry into the country.
While liar-nObama foolishly reduced the size and strength of all military forces, the Heritage Foundation's James Carafano wrote two years ago, "[The] most neglected of all U.S. national security elements are our strategic forces. Here, President liar-nObama has reined in development and deployment of ballistic missile defenses," and "cut all advanced missile defense programs designed to keep the United States ahead of the ballistic missile threat in the future." And, "to curry favor with Russia, he pulled the plug on planned missile defense installations in Poland and the Czech Republic, simultaneously alienating those allies while displaying weakness to Moscow."
The plan addresses the dangerously high national debt of nearly $20 trillion. It takes a fiscally responsible approach aimed at beginning the process of reducing the large annual deficits to zero in 10 years, and perhaps produce a relatively small surplus by 2027.
While this year's deficit will be a little higher than last year's, the initiatives contained in the plan will turn the habit of annual deficits around, if they are successful. Trump depends upon producing growth in our economy. Although many economists say his goals are too optimistic, that doesn't mean his proposals won't free the economy to grow more than it did over the last eight years.
Trump's budget depends on major modifications to the tax system. His plans include reducing individual income tax brackets from seven to three with rates of 10%, 25% and 35%, and eliminating many tax breaks to balance the loss of income to the Treasury from lower tax rates. His corporate tax rate cuts likewise would lay a foundation for growth.
Lower rates are a good thing; they leave taxpayers with more spendable dollars, which increases consumer spending and spurs economic activity that produces jobs. New jobs produce additional taxpayers and increase tax collections. It's so simple it's no wonder leftists have such a hard time understanding it.
Big-government types believe cuts in federal spending are always a bad thing. But cuts can be made without hurting people who truly need the government payments they receive.
The Trump proposal cuts almost $3.6 trillion from an array of benefit programs, domestic agencies and war spending over the coming decade, including Medicaid, student loan subsidies, food stamps, and the highway formula for the states. And yet, "We are not kicking anybody off any program who needs it," said Mulvaney, who explained that the proposal doesn't cut Medicaid, just grows it more slowly over 10 years.
Cutting "waste, fraud and abuse" is a favorite trope of politicians from both sides of the political aisle. But that doesn't much such waste is a fantasy. Rather, it accounts for billions of dollars of federal spending annually that accomplish nothing.
GovTechWorks.com reports on federal estimates: "Improper payments account for about 5 cents of every Medicaid dollar ... or about $29.1 billion of the $547.7 billion program in 2015 alone," through intentional deception or misrepresentation; inappropriate use of services and resources; and practices inconsistent with sound fiscal, business or medical practices.
And that's just one federal program. Ending or reducing those problems will go a long way to counter spending cuts.
Those who believe the federal government cannot spend less and accomplish just as much good are living in Fantasy Land. Too many people automatically believe the scare mongering of those who profit politically from supporting high levels of spending. Mike Flynn agrees to hand over some documents to Senate Intelligence Committee

Dan Rather, the former CBS News anchor, is Exhibit A. On February 8, 1995 he told Tom Snyder on his late-night TV show that, "It's one of the great political myths about press bias. Most reporters don't know whether they're Republican or Democrat and vote every which way."
On May 30, 2012, he told Jon Stewart the same thing. When Stewart asked, "In your experience, haven’t most journalists, haven’t their politics been somewhat more liberal?" Rather replied, "No, it hasn’t been my experience. ... This is a sham."
This is nonsense — breathtakingly untrue nonsense. Most reporters do know whether they're Republican or Democrat and they don't vote every which way. Studies have shown that there are far more liberals in America's newsrooms than conservatives - and they vote Democratic far more than Republican.
After George W. Bush was elected in 2000, I got a phone call from a network news correspondent who said he thought he was the only person in his shop who voted for Bush and said his colleagues took to calling him a Nazi because of it.
In my 28 years at CBS News, I don't recall running into a conservative - not one who would admit it publicly anyway.
What is a sham, to use my former colleague's word, is the refusal of many liberal journalists - not only Dan Rather — to acknowledge the obvious: That journalism attracts more liberals than conservatives and that too many reporters let their personal views infect their coverage of the news.
Which brings us to an important new study from researchers at Harvard University that shows that coverage of Donald Trump in his first 100 days of office was overwhelmingly negative. Overwhelmingly!
The researchers analyzed the tone of coverage at CNN, NBC, CBS, Fox News, the New York Times, the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal. Here's some of what they found:
Coverage at CNN and NBC was 93 percent negative. At CBS, the tone was 92 percent negative; at the New York Times it was 87 percent negative; at the Washington Post, the negative tone was 83 percent; at the Wall Street Journal it was 70 percent negative; and at Fox News the coverage was 52 percent negative.
The numbers look like bias. But negative coverage is not necessarily biased coverage.
You can't blame journalists for simply reporting the news, which in President Trump's case is often filled with controversial statements and actions and so, understandably, would produce stories with a negative tone.
But when the negative numbers are so astronomically high, mainstream journalists would be better off employing some introspection instead of ignoring the study, which is what many did, and which is only a more nuanced way of circling the wagons.
The Harvard team also broke down the coverage by topic and found that on immigration 96 percent of the coverage was negative; on healthcare 87 percent was negative; and on fitness for office, 81 percent of the news was negative.
Here's a theory: So much news coverage about the president has been negative because journalists don't agree with Mr. Trump's policies - and a lot of them just plain don't like him.
For example, a lot of liberal journalists are at odds with the president's immigration policies - whether it's about building a wall on the southern border or rounding up and deporting some illegal immigrants. Is that why so much of the coverage has been negative and why journalists didn't spend more time finding sources that agree with the president, and putting them in their stories?
A lot of liberal journalists, who adored Barack liar-nObama, don't like the president's plan to repeal and replace liar-nObamacare. Is that why so much coverage on healthcare has been negative?
And it's no secret that a lot of liberal journalists believe the president is unfit for office. Maybe that's why more than 8 out of 10 stories on the president's fitness were negative.
By the way, the same Harvard researchers found that Barack liar-nObama got 41 percent negative coverage and 59 percent positive. George W. Bush got 57 percent negative, 43 percent positive. Donald Trump's overall numbers: 80 percent negative, 20 percent positive.
I stumbled across an interesting essay by Washington journalist Robert W. Merry in which he says, "When a man as uncouth and reckless as Trump becomes president by running against the nation's elites, it's a strong signal that the elites are the problem."
Memo to America's elites: Millions of Americans think you're the ones who are deplorable. They don't want to be called bigots because they worry about the effects of illegal immigration on America's schools and hospitals and more broadly on the nation's sovereignty and culture.
They don't want to be seen as heartless because they believe that not everybody getting food stamps deserves them.
They don't want to be viewed as Muslim-hating bigots because they, like the president, believe that a temporary ban on travel from a few countries — countries that harbor terrorism — is a good idea.
And they're sick of being portrayed as unsophisticated dolts because they don't abide by politically correct ideas that are so popular among the elites at some of our most prestigious universities.
This is not the time to circle the wagons. It's a time for introspection by America's elites, starting with the ones who set the agenda for the culture, who decide what the national conversation will be about ... the media elites.

Maine: ACLU Opposes Criminalizing Female Genital Mutilation

Now that Muslims in the U.S. have been arrested for brutalizing children via FGM, the ACLU is suddenly interested and of course opposed.

One of the eight high-risk areas in the country
The American Civil Liberties Union launched a vocal opposition this week against a Maine bill criminalizing female genital mutilation (FGM), Mainely Media reports.
Republican Rep. Heather Sirocki is sponsoring the bill, saying that it would classify performing FGM as a Class B crime in the state, punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. The bill would also punish the parent or guardian of the victim.
However, the Maine ACLU staunchly opposes the protection. ACLU spokesman Oamshri Amarasingham said that the risk of mutilation isn’t worth expanding Maine’s criminal code. The Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault also supported the ACLU, arguing that FGM is not happening in Maine.
Sirocki, however, pointed to a 2012 report from the Center for Disease Control, which found 500,000 victims of FGM in the US. Furthermore, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement found that 400 individuals have been arrested and 785 deported for FGM violations nationwide since 2003.
Maine, Sirocki said, is one of the eight highest-risk areas in the US for FGM. The practice has proven to be so rampant in the state that it has received special federal funding to combat it.
Sirocki’s bill would also criminalize “vacation cutting,” the practice of flying briefly overseas to subject minors to FGM in nations that haven’t banned the practice.
While FGM has been a crime federally since 1996, Maine is one of the highest-risk areas in the country for the practice, and Sirocki said that law enforcement needs to be able to try offenders on the state level.
“Federal prosecutors take a very small amount of cases,” Sirocki said. “The state of Maine deals with thousands of cases. If a situation would occur and this is the issue, if the federal government doesn’t have enough prosecutors, it doesn’t get prosecuted.”
The bill, LD745, only criminalizes the practice on those under 18. It does not apply to adults who choose to undergo mutilation, “though it probably should,” Sirocki said. If the bill passes, Maine would be the 25th state to protect its residents against FGM.
Sirocki said that the Committee of Criminal Justice and Public Safety was divided in its support of the bill, but eventually recommended the bill favorably with a 7-5 vote. The Maine House of Representatives will first review the bill, then it will go to the members of the state senate.

It Took 26 Hours for CNN to Fire Kathy Griffin
Twenty-six hours after a photo of comedienne Kathy Griffin posing with a severed and bloodied prop head of President Trump was published, CNN has finally fired Griffin. The announcement was made on Twitter Wednesday afternoon by the network.
The disturbing image drew outrage from people on both the Right and the Left. The Secret Service is even investigating “the circumstances surrounding the photo shoot.”
According to a report from TMZ, a distressed Barron Trump thought the photograph was real. President Trump said Wednesday that Kathy Griffin “should be ashamed of herself.”
CNN was criticized by many, including Donald Trump Jr., for taking too long to cut ties with Griffin.
Griffin apologized for the photoshoot Tuesday evening. But the controversy has ended several of Griffin’s business relationships, including a commercial for Squatty Potty that was terminated and a performance at an Albuquerque casino that was cancelled.
Since CNN has fired her as well, she will no longer appear alongside Anderson Cooper for the network’s New Year’s program.

DC Judge Freed Alleged ISIS Terrorist From Gitmo
Sabir Mahfouz Lahmar, a former detainee in the U.S. Guantanamo Bay Detention Center in Cuba, has been arrested by French authorities on charges of being an active recruiter for the Islamic State terror group. He was arrested with five other acquaintances (three men and two women) who are also accused of being members of the recruitment network.
Lahmar is an Algerian national who was arrested by Bosnian authorities in 2001 when he was allegedly part of a jihadist group plotting to bomb the U.S. embassy in Sarajevo. Lahmar was later transferred to Guantanamo in 2002.
After Lahmar’s capture, the Pentagon determined that he was a senior member of the Bosnia-based Armed Islamic Group (GIA), which was coordinating with Al Qaeda on the plot to bomb the U.S. embassy. The Department of Defense ruled at the time of his capture that he was a high risk to pose a threat to U.S. interests, if released.
Additionally, the Pentagon claimed he attempted to travel between Afghanistan and Iran to meet with Al Qaeda leaders. Officials also determined that he was “known in Bosnia as being a vehemently anti-Western Islamic extremist.” He also reportedly stated that “attacks should be carried out against US troops in Bosnia because he believed the US was the number one enemy of Islam.”
Lahmar was freed (along with four other Algerian nationals) from Guantanamo in 2009 after a District of Columbia judge ruled that there was no evidence supporting his classification as an “enemy combatant.” He was then transferred to France after former French President Nicolas Sarkozy agreed to take him in.
Eight years later, Lahmar is an alleged Islamic State terrorist in a country that is in the midst of a spike in jihad terror.
There are 41 remaining at Guantanamo Bay. They include high-profile terrorists like the “9-11 five,” among whom is Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of the September 11 attacks.
President Trump has promised to keep the detention center open and “load it up with some bad dudes,” reversing former President Obama’s pledge to shut down the facility. . New Media Target: Jared Kushner
Not a day goes by that some Leftmedia outlet doesn't run a hit piece on Donald Trump's administration, usually in conjunction to supposed "collusion" with Russia. "Jared Kushner represents new front in Trump's Russia tangle," screams The Washington Post headline. The trouble is there's often a shred — if only a shred — of substance to the charges, which makes them harder to rebut. This time it's the president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who's in the media's crosshairs.
Kushner, a 36-year-old real estate investor and developer, is one of Trump's senior advisers — and one of the furthest left, at that. He has no particular expertise that suits him to his West Wing role, other than being related to the president. And the trouble evidently started even before Trump's inauguration.
National Review's Andrew McCarthy writes, "[Kushner] has no national-security or diplomatic experience, however, but was nonetheless chosen to represent the then-president-elect at a Trump Tower meeting with Russia's ambassador the United States. That would be Sergey Kislyak, a wily Soviet-apparatchik-turned-Putin-operative, who has been at the game of picking America's pocket for longer than Kushner has been alive. Retired general Michael Flynn, who was slated to become Trump's national-security adviser, was also at the meeting. On the agenda was the establishment of a back channel for Trump-administration dealings with the Kremlin. In particular, according to the New York Times, the Trump transition team wanted Flynn to have access to a Russian counterpart to discuss Syria and other issues of mutual interest."
Moreover, Kushner reportedly discussed (whether it was his proposal or the Russians' is unclear) channeling communications through Russian diplomatic facilities in the U.S. In other words, Russian intelligence could have access to those conversations but American intelligence would not.
Back channels aren't unusual in and of themselves, and neither is working with a geopolitical foe like Russia on areas of mutual interest. But the reported handling of it is colossally naïve — if the reports are true. After all, it's worth emphasizing that The New York Times and The Washington Post continue to depend upon anonymous sources, and the Times couldn't confirm the Post's report.
A couple of questions: If Trump's campaign colluded with Russia, why was setting up a back channel in December even necessary? It doesn't appear to have been successful in any case. And why does the media obsess over this story about a meeting known to the FBI for months when Kushner is not the subject of any investigation? With nothing illegal alleged against a guy who's not being investigated, what's all the fuss about? {townhall.com} ~ The New York Times' hostility to industry gets worse every day.
Last week, the Times ran a big picture of a bay in Alaska with the headline "In Reversal, E.P.A. Eases Path for a Mine Near Alaska's Bristol Bay."
While this was just another of their stories about how Donald Trump will poison America, it caught my eye because of the big photo and because I once reported on that mine.
Attempted mine, I should say. No holes have been dug.
I reported on Pebble Mine because the EPA rejected the mine even before its environmental impact statement was submitted. The liar-nObama EPA squashed Pebble like it squashed the Keystone XL pipeline. It just said no.
This shocked CEO Tom Collier. He's a Democrat who managed environment policy for Al Gore and Bill liar-Clinton. He was convinced Pebble could be developed safely and assumed EPA regulators would follow their own rules. They didn't.
"They killed this project before any science was done, and there are memos that show that!" Collier complained.
I'm skeptical when sources say things like that, but in this case, there are documents that reveal collusion between the EPA and Pebble's political opponents.
One of America's richest environmental groups they collect more than $10 million per month is the Natural Resources Defense Council. Their website claims "Science empowers NRDC's work," but the NRDC is run by lawyers, not scientists, and many are anti-progress activists upset about "corporate greed."
NRDC spokesman Bob Deans told me that the NRDC isn't anti-progress -- it just wants the "right" kind: "Wind turbines, solar panels ... this is what the future needs."
"But we also need copper and gold," I said.
"Well, that's right," he replied. "But we have to weigh those risks."
"Are there some mines where NRDC says, 'Go ahead!'?" I asked.
After thinking for a while, he said, "It's not up to us to greenlight mines."
I asked, "Are there any you don't complain about?"
"Sure," he told me. He said he'd send us names. He never did.
Unfortunately, there's a revolving door between groups like the NRDC and the EPA.
One NRDC activist who walked through that door was Nancy Stoner. EPA administrators aren't supposed to conspire with former activist colleagues, but she did, telling them that she couldn't coordinate with them directly but could meet with them so long as they communicated via other people and invited people besides her to meetings.
After her correspondence about that was revealed, Stoner left the EPA, but Pebble had already been rejected.
Now Trump's in charge and his EPA says it will reevaluate the mine. Good. It should.
But New York Times reporters can't stand that. They've smeared Pebble year after year in their headlines.
2008: "Mine would irreparably harm a centuries-old salmon fishing industry."
2012: "A Threat to Bristol Bay."
2013: "Native Alaska, Under Threat."
Last week's smear piece was written by Tatiana Schlossberg. Name sound familiar? She's Caroline Kennedy's daughter, granddaughter of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
Her Times articles are a litany of enviro-hysteria: "Mass Die-off of Whales"; "...Bring Coal's Hidden Hazard to Light"; "How Lowering Crime Could Contribute to Global Warming."
I'm not making this up.
Her last anti-Trump column was headlined: "23 Environmental Rules Rolled Back." But the article lists only nine. Fourteen others were "under review" or in "limbo" -- not rolled back.
Her Bristol Bay story claimed the proposed Pebble Mine was "on" Bristol Bay. But it isn't. It's more than 100 miles away.
When we asked Schlossberg about that, she replied, "I'm not going to comment on that. If you have a problem or a question, you can direct it to the standards editor."
So we did, and to my surprise, the standards editor published a correction: "The mine is not on Bristol Bay itself."
But he defended the Times' headline saying "near Bristol Bay" because "it is in the watershed of Bristol Bay ... The mine could affect the fishery."
I suppose it "could." Most anything "could." But "near" the bay? To me, "near" is 200 yards, or maybe half a mile, but not 100 miles.
Forget the anti-development phrase NIMBY (Not In My Backyard). Now it's BANANA (Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anybody).
The Schlossberg-Kennedys have hundreds of millions of dollars and already own 300 acres of waterfront property. They won't be crushed by insane environmental restrictions.
You, however, may be.

Merkel Bemoans U.S. Leadership Under Trump
German Chancellor Angela Merkel made a campaign stop upon returning from the recent G7 Summit in Brussels, and she took the opportunity to fire a shot at the U.S. Last week, President Donald Trump called out European countries for failing to live up to their agreed upon military spending commitments in support of NATO, and he also refused to commit to the Paris climate change deal signed by Barack liar-nObama. Thus, Merkel declared, "The times in which we could completely depend on others are on the way out. I've experienced that in the last few days. We Europeans truly have to take our fate into our own hands."
First, it's important to note the context of her statement. Merkel is in the midst of what has been a rather contentious campaign season. Her audience was a crowd of fervent supporters whose opinions of Trump are akin to those on the American Left. Therefore, she's clearly playing to the crowd as well as expressing her own frustration with Trump.
Second, Merkel is a globalist like liar-nObama. Just last week, liar-nObama tag-teamed with the German chancellor to promote his liar-nObama Foundation, which is basically an organization dedicated to the promotion of globalism. In essence, Merkel is Europe's liar-nObama, as both share the same views on policy.
Third, Trump has effectively communicated that the U.S. will reassert its leadership role in both NATO and the rest of the world. No more of liar-nObama's dismally failed "leading from behind" nonsense. In fact, it's ironic that Merkel's allegation of Europeans being left to fend for themselves ignores the fact that such abandonment is exactly what has been occurring for the past eight years. Now that Trump steps up to reassert American leadership — in a direction not congruent with Merkel's political views — there is the veiled implication of betrayal.
But the betrayal lies not with Trump calling out European leaders. Looking at Europe during Merkel's time at the helm of the continent's most powerful country, it's not difficult to understand why so many Europeans are turning to populist political movements. Their leaders have failed to prioritize national sovereignty and the rights of citizens over foreigners. So while our mainstream media frets over Trump's effect on relations with Germany, the real takeaway is that he's ruffling the right feathers. ~The Patriot Post

The real Russian disinformation has been the notorious “Trump Dossier,” which has been serving as the “roadmap” for the FBI.
Weeks after Accuracy in Media exposed the nature of this phony document in a three-part series, “The Final Truth About the Trump Dossier,” Wall Street Journal columnist Holman W. Jenkins, Jr., has stumbled upon the truth, saying the dossier smells like a Russian plant. Our verdict was that the dossier compiled by former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele was part of a Russian effort, financed by liar-Hillary Clinton donors, to smear Trump. That’s what the evidence shows.
In his column, “The Trump-Russia Story Starts Making Sense,” Jenkins writes that it is likely that Steele “was the semi-witting vehicle for Russian rumors designed expressly to undermine Mr. Trump…”
Thank you, Mr. Jenkins, for confirming what we have been saying all along.
In addition to the latest lawsuit over the dossier, Politico’s Gerstein reported that BuzzFeed was sued in February by Russian Internet entrepreneur Aleksej Gubarev over claims in the dossier that he and his firms used “botnets and porn traffic” to conduct cyber operations against Democratic Party leaders. “At about the time the suit was filed, BuzzFeed apologized and redacted the information about Gubarev and his companies from the document [the dossier] on BuzzFeed’s site,” Gerstein said.
So some of the “unproven claims” have been disproved and retracted.
Remember that Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) had asked Comey about the FBI’s relationship with Steele and the dossier:
Grassley: On March 6, I wrote to you asking about the FBI’s relationship with the author of the Trump-Russia dossier, Christopher Steele. Most of these questions have not been answered, so I’m going to ask them now. Prior to the Bureau launching the investigation of alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia, did anyone from the FBI have interactions with Mr. Steele regarding the issue?Comey: That’s not a question that I can answer in this forum. As you know, I—I briefed you privately on this and if there’s more that’s necessary then I’d be happy to do it privately.Grassley: Have you ever represented to a judge that the FBI had interaction with Mr. Steele, whether by name or not, regarding alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia prior to the Bureau launching its investigation of the matter?Comey: I have to give you the same answer, Mr. Chairman.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) asked Comey about Fusion GPS, which was financed by liar-Hillary donors and acted as an alleged foreign agent for the Russians in Washington, D.C. Fusion is reported to have financed the dossier. Mollie Hemingway of The Federalist pointed to this exchange:
Graham: Are you familiar with Fusion?Comey: I know the name.Graham: Are they part of the Russian intelligence apparatus?Comey: I can’t say.Graham: Do you agree with me that if Fusion was involved in preparing a dossier against Donald Trump, that would be interfering in our election by the Russians?Comey: I don’t want to say.
The liberal media will not admit, as the Journal’s Jenkins now does, that the dossier was a piece of Russian disinformation. But The Washington Post and other liberal media are now admitting that Comey used a “dubious” piece of Russian intelligence to conduct part of the investigation into liar-Hillary’s emails.
The Post reports that a secret document that played a key role in Comey’s handling of the liar-Hillary Clinton email investigation “has long been viewed within the FBI as unreliable and possibly a fake…” CNN now says Comey “knew that a critical piece of information relating to the investigation into liar-Hillary Clinton’s email was fake…but did not let on to lawmakers that there were doubts about the veracity of the intelligence…”
The media can’t bring themselves to admit that the “Trump Dossier” was also “dubious” or fake. No wonder that the May 2017 Harvard-Harris Poll found that that 65 percent of voters believe that the mainstream media contain “a lot of fake news.”
There are so many fake pieces of information that it’s hard for the public to keep up with them. And they keep coming!
Consider The Washington Post claim that Jared Kushner and Russia’s ambassador to Washington Sergey Kislyak “discussed the possibility of setting up a secret and secure communications channel between Trump’s transition team and the Kremlin…”
Even if the story is true, there is nothing inherently wrong with such a channel.
But at the end of a long Politico story about this alleged back channel, we are told that “this latest controversy could be part of a more advanced Russian plot, especially because the Washington Post report cited intelligence reports in which Kislyak talked with his superiors about Kushner’s alleged proposal.”
A former State Department official said, “Typically, the Russian clandestine subversion specialists, being the best in the world in this demonical art form, operate in double, triple and sometimes multiple tactical plot lines.” The report that the U.S. has “intercepted a message from Kislyak to the Kremlin saying that Kushner had proposed a backchannel connection during the transition period” has to be understood in the context that “Kislyak knows perfectly well that all his communications are being intercepted by the U.S.”
Finally, we are hearing from an anonymous source who understands Soviet/Russian active measures operations.
Kislyak would know that the information would be leaked for the purposes of confusing people about the Russian role. The Post and other media lap it up, making them active participants and dupes in Russia-gate.
Even worse than manipulation of the liberal press is what has happened to the FBI.
The headline over an Opinion Journal video interview with Holman Jenkins captured the nature of the Russian operation: “How Moscow Manipulated the FBI.” That’s indeed what has happened. And you can add the CIA and the NSA to the mix.
But is it worse than that? What we now have to investigate is whether some of the leakers are in fact Russian moles in the FBI circulating this material to the press.
What we can now say with certainty is that the operation looks like a successful effort by the Russians to tie the U.S. government in knots and drain important resources away from the battle we urgently need to wage against terrorism.
However, we are now depending on a special counsel to get to the bottom of this corruption in the agency he once ran. How likely is it that Robert Mueller will blow the whistle on FBI corruption when he presided over corruption in the anthrax letters probe and got sued by an FBI agent for his mishandling of the inquiry?

The following day ISIS helped RINO-McCain in making a fool of himself once again by blasting an innocent civilians in a huge suicide car bombing. ISIS continued with their new disturbing tactic of targeting children, blowing up a popular Baghdad ice cream parlor. The suicide bomber detonated an explosives-rigged vehicle in front of the shop early Tuesday, killing 13 people and wounding at least thirty more in the Karrada district of central Baghdad. The attack occurred just days into Ramadan, in which Muslims fast during the day and break their fasting at sundown. That is an ominous development that endangers the civil liberties of all Americans... Federal Prosecutors generally begin by identifying specific crimes that may have been committed — in this case, violation of federal statutes. But no one has yet identified the specific statute or statutes that constrain Mueller’s investigation of the Russian matter. She’s the littlest known victim of Monday night’s jihad attack in Manchester, England. Her doe-eyed image spread as rapidly across social media as the #PrayForManchester hashtags and Twitter condolences from celebrities.
But I guarantee you that beautiful Saffie Rose will evaporate from the memories of those most loudly proclaiming “Never forget” faster than a dewdrop in the desert.
Look no further for proof of the West’s incurable terror attack amnesia than the reaction to the Manchester massacre. Reporters, politicians and pundits expressed shock at the brutality of Muslim murderers targeting children and young people.
Labour Party leader Yvette Cooper posited on BBC Live that it was a “first.”
“The architects of terror have hit a new low,” a Liverpool newspaper editorialized.
