After massive loses in the November General Elections, the Democrat Party is searching; anything to stop their hemorrhaging.

Ferguson, Missouri’s Michael Brown was a criminal.  President Obama, AG Holder, Missouri Governor Nixon, Al Sharpton, and other Democrat Party members are labeling racism as any differing action(s) between individuals involving any dissimilar skin of color.

Evidence reveals Michael Brown as a repetitive criminal.  Ferguson’s own community and others protested Brown’s death by rioting, vandalizing, looting, and burning their neighborhood.  Now, President Obama is asking Americans’ taxpayers to rebuild this devastated area.

Eric Garner refused to obey NYPD officers.  In controlling Garner, he told the officers he could not breathe; then died.  A NY grand jury didn’t indict Officer Pantaleo of any wrongdoing.  Many leading Democrats disagree.

Any effort to rescind the ‘grand jury’ process is another effort to destroy our US Constitution.

Demonstrators across America under Obama’s advisor, tax-evading Al Sharpton and others claim Michael Brown’s and Eric Garner’s deaths are racism.

Now, Senate California’s Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein is revealing how CIA uses approved tactical methods obtaining evidence from captured known terrorists; as practiced in their efforts to save Americans’ lives.

The Democrat Party suffered historical loses in the November 2014 General Election; the Senate, the House, several Governors, and in some states’ General Assemblies.  Sen. Dianne Feinstein and other similar Democrat Party’s activities may destroy their own Democrat Party, the CIA’s international intelligence, and a free America.

Water the Tree of Liberty or Hang Them From It

fein-1.jpg?width=295Any and all future attacks by the religion of peace, Islam, and its 7th century barbarians against any and all Americans can now be laid directly at the feet of 21st century traitors masquerading as democrats.

Diane Feinstein and the liberal enemies of America comprising the Senate Intelligence Committee have released…to our enemies…a detailed 500 page summary of a 6,300 page report that will accomplish nothing but inflaming jihad against the American military and the American people and outlined in that report all the measures used to extract information from enemies captured on the battlefield.

Make no mistake…this is treason.

This incomprehensible and reprehensible move has and will aid our nation’s enemies. It will motivate our enemies and it will lead to events from the size of the attacks in Benghazi to the scope of the attacks on the World Trade Center Towers.

In my opinion, each and every member of that committee who sanctioned and supported the making of this report and then sanctioned and supported its release yesterday should have been immediately arrested and sent to GITMO as enemies of America in a time of war.

Theirs is a high crime and punishable by death according to our Constitution.

They are not innocent nor have they taken the moral high ground and...

The Country itself is like a big Jet aircraft with bits and pieces breaking off before the fuselage hits the ground with parts trailing off and spread over a hundred miles of ground rather than a single crash site. That's is how I will describe Americas crash.

Many of the bodies found over a long debris field where fragments of bone and DNA are discovered long after they are considered to be dead already. I forget who said it but the phrase elections have consequences may be true when it was said years ago but I say it is because elections DON'T have consequences, that our country will inevitably continue to become less powerful, less influential less a force on the world stage until it is so marginalized so weak and so in debt we fade away.

You want consequences?

Try an armed overthrow of the house and senate because elections only get us the same gutless punks regardless of party they get us the SAME THING the last elections got us. A DO NOTHING CONGRESS or an IRRELEVANT HOUSE AND SENATE .

All these headlines about Obama is in trouble and THIS TIME HE IS GOING DOWN Blah blah blah That they are going to reverse obama care and now the new harbinger of evil, AMNESTY. I listen to these people on Fox saying what they are going to do next and it all gets vetoed anyway or how they are going to use the power of the purse blah blah blah.

BOTTOM LINE Boehner will continue to screw us and the republicans like Ted Cruise Rand Paul even Trey Gowdy will continue to give us hope and we will continue to see names getting their asses in the hot seat during hearings about so many scandals now I've lost count but NOT ONE HEAD WILL ROLL AND NO ONE WILL GO TO JAIL AND NOTHING WILL BE REPEALED OR NULLIFIED. NOT ONE DAMN THING and the LAST THING ANYONE OF US WILL SEE

Is Obamacare done away with Amnesty stopped

or Obama impeached. In other words

NO Consequences

ISIS BEHEADS FOUR CHIRSTIAN CHILDREN

Share

The brutality and barbarism of ISIS – the Islamic State – has been well documented, but the latest report is unspeakable.

The Christian “Vicar of Baghdad,” the Rev. Canon Andrew White, recounted that ISIS jihadists recently beheaded four Christian children.

As the Christian Post reports:

“ISIS turned up and they said to the children, ‘you say the words that you will follow Muhammad.’ The Children, all under 15, four of them, they said, ‘no, we love Yasua [Jesus]. We have always loved Yasua. We have always followed Yasua. Yasua has always been with us.'” White said. “[The Militants] said, ‘say the words!’ [The Children] said, ‘no, we can’t do that.’ They chopped all their heads off.”

“How do you respond to that?” White asked. “You just cry. They are my children. That is what we have been going through. That is what we are going through.”

Often the nonstop news of terrorist beheadings and persecution of Christians coming out of Iraq has had the devastating consequence of desensitizing many Christians here in America.

THE FOUNDATION

“To judge from the history of mankind, we shall be compelled to conclude that the fiery and destructive passions of war reign in the human breast with much more powerful sway than the mild and beneficent sentiments of peace; and that to model our political systems upon speculations of lasting tranquillity would be to calculate on the weaker springs of human character.” –Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 34, 1788

Gruber Testifies

MIT professor and ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber is testifying before Congress today regarding his comments about “stupid voters” and the deception Democrats employed to cram through the “Affordable” Care Act. Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) slammed Gruber, though mainly for exposing Democrats' methods. He decided to discredit Gruber: “As far as I can tell, we are here today to beat up on Jonathan Gruber for stupid – I mean absolutely stupid – comments he made over the last few years. Let me be clear, I am extremely frustrated with Dr. Gruber’s statements. They were irresponsibly, incredibly disrespectful, and did not reflect reality. And they were indeed insulting.” Cummings then denied having anything to do with deceiving Americans: “I was in Congress when this law was debated, and Dr. Gruber does not speak for me, or the chairman of the other committees who worked tirelessly on this bill. We debated this legislation for nearly a year before it was finally passed and signed by the president! Never once did I believe or did anyone suggest that we were somehow hiding our goals from the American people!” At least he can’t say so with righteous indignation, but we all know ObamaCare is the biggest of the BIG Lies foisted on this country. “But worst of all,” Cummings concluded, “Dr. Gruber’s statements gave Republicans a public relations gift in their relentless political campaign to tear down the ACA and eliminate health care for millions of Americans!” Gruber just spoke too candidly.

Obama Thinks Racism Is Still ‘Deeply Rooted’

Barack Obama interviewed with Black Entertainment Television (BET) and addressed the furor that followed the recent decisions by two grand juries not to indict police officers Darren Wilson and Daniel Pantaleo. The president said America has made significant progress when it comes to racism – then alluded to continued racist behavior among some communities. “We can’t equate what is happening now to what was happening 50 years ago,” he explained. “And if you talk to your parents, grandparents, uncles, they’ll tell you that things are better. Not good in some cases, but better.” Nevertheless, “When you’re dealing with something as deeply rooted as racism or bias in any society you’ve got to have vigilance but you have to recognize that it is going to take some time, and you just have to be steady.” If this is about racism, why did Eric Garner’s widow admit her husband’s death isn’t a “black and white thing”? According to a recent poll, if anyone is to blame for fanning the race card flame, it’s Obama. Bloomberg Politics reports, “[A] majority of Americans, 53 percent, say the interactions between the white and black communities have deteriorated since [Obama] took office.” More…

Warren Forgets Who Created Subprime Mortgages

Barbie of the Left, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), told a group of Democrat donors in the Boston area that the subprime mortgage crisis unfairly “targeted” minority families looking to buy a home. She also lambasted what she saw as an unholy alliance between Wall Street and government, with people moving from – in leftist eyes – the evil corporate banks into government work, tainting the vaulted work of orchestrating plebeians' lives. Politico reports, “She ascribed some of the problem to a worsening climate of economic opportunity for African-Americans than existed even a decade ago, according to attendees. And she said that the mortgage crisis affected black and Hispanic families more heavily, describing those groups as being ‘targeted.’” Warren neglected to mention those subprime mortgages were created by the government – Democrats, in particular – and then the government forced banks to adopt risky lending practices as a way to encourage minority homeownership. So were minorities “targeted”? Absolutely. By Democrats. More…

Minimum Wage Increases Block Economic Ladder

The National Bureau of Economic Research is out with a new paper showing once again that raising the minimum wage has a high cost for workers. In October, Hillary Clinton summed up the Left’s argument that raising the minimum wage is a no-brainer: “[D]on’t let anybody tell you that raising the minimum wage will kill jobs. They always say that.” But what University of California, San Diego, researchers Jeffrey Clemens and Michael Wither found is this: “[B]inding minimum wage increases had significant, negative effects on the employment and income growth of targeted workers. … We also present evidence of the minimum wage’s effects on low-skilled workers' economic mobility. We find that binding minimum wage increases significantly reduced the likelihood that low-skilled workers rose to what we characterize as lower middle class earnings.” In other words, the minimum wage often has the opposite of the intended effect. No wonder the best argument liberals can come up with is “because we said so.” More…

The Iran Nuclear Talks Were Successful – For Iran

It seems like Iran has the upper hand in the negotiations with world leaders over its nuclear program. First, the talks failed to bring a deal by the Nov. 24 deadline. During the negotiations, the Iranian diplomats shouted at Secretary of State John Kerry so violently that his bodyguards thought the “negotiations” would go beyond words. But as the talks failed, the countries at the table agreed to move the deadline to June 30. And according to Kerry, a former peace protester, diplomats will be joining hands, singing Kum Ba Ya within a few months time. But that’s not what Iran has been indicating. It has shopped for materials to build a heavy-water reactor that could make weapons-grade plutonium. And while the U.S. announced Iran made concessions, Iran publicly corrected the White House. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani told his state-run media, “Of course we bypass sanctions. We are proud that we bypass sanctions because the sanctions are illegal.” By these indications, it seems like Kerry can add the Iranian nuclear talks as a smashing failure to his résumé.

Democrats Trash America With ‘Torture’ Report

2013-09-11-53e8ff94.jpgThis is why interrogation is necessary

The Senate Intelligence Committee will release a report today detailing the CIA’s use of what those on the Left call torture – otherwise known as enhanced interrogation techniques used against several members of al-Qaida during the Bush administration. The 6,000-page report (with a 500-page executive summary) took more than five years and $40 million to produce, and it’s sure to spark much debate for weeks to come.

Did we mention the release is conveniently timed to obscure today’s congressional testimony from ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber? As Democrats might say, “Gee, was that today?”

In 2009, Barack Obama deliberately undermined the CIA and ordered a stop to the techniques used to gather intelligence from three key members of al-Qaida. As Mark Alexander noted at the time, “Intelligence gathered from these detainees, particularly KSM Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, saved American lives and property – especially information that thwarted planned attacks on Los Angeles and New York, as well as actionable intelligence that led to the arrest of an al-Qa'ida cell in the U.S. and the capture or death of a succession of al-Qa'ida principals in the Middle East and Africa.”

By the way, Osama bin Laden is dead thanks to information obtained through enhanced interrogation. Obama likes to spike the football on that one, while repudiating the techniques that made it possible.

The president and his fellow NeoComs say that even though waterboarding and other enhanced techniques worked, they are just too inhumane, too evil. The president said in August, “We tortured some folks.” He further lectured, “When we engaged in some of these enhanced interrogation techniques, techniques that I believe and I think any fair-minded person would believe were torture, we crossed a line. And that needs to be understood and accepted.”

So let’s get this straight: Obama simply kills terrorists with drones rather than try to gather intelligence by interrogating them. His Iraq policy failure was driven by 2012 electoral politics and gave rise to the Islamic State. And yet he now wants us to believe he has credibility regarding what intelligence operations are good or bad for America.

CIA operatives did what was asked of them and what was necessary to gather actionable intelligence. Rather than give praise to these and other Patriots who have helped keep America safe, however, this president, with his rhetoric and policies, is choosing once again to knock America down a few pegs.

Secretary of State John Kerry anticipated outrage from terrorist organizations that could lead to an increase in atrocities overseas, and he personally phoned the chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Diane Feinstein, asking that she “delay the imminent release of her committee’s report.” To be sure, Kerry “still supports releasing the report, just not right now.”

Intelligence officials and Republicans in Congress are concerned for the safety of U.S. personnel and facilities overseas. Former CIA Director Michael Hayden warned of the report’s questionable content and its betrayal of our overseas intelligence partners: “This report will lead to a … CIA that is timid and friendless, and that is a very dangerous situation.”

Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said releasing the report “is a terrible idea.” He added, “Foreign leaders have approached the government and said, ‘You do this, this will cause violence and deaths.’ Our own intelligence community has assessed that this will cause violence and deaths.”

Feinstein is undeterred. She praised the “societal and constitutional values that we are very proud of,” while contesting, “Anybody who reads this is going to never let this happen again.”

Far from such high-minded concerns, she knows it wouldn’t see the light of day once she’s demoted from being chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee. And, not uncommon with leftists, she would rather see her years of political work in the headlines than be concerned about the lives of U.S. personnel overseas.

Although many of the specifics of the soon-to-be released report are unknown, they are controversial enough to bring former President George W. Bush out of his deliberately chosen quiet retirement. During an interview on Sunday, he made it clear he was fully behind the actions of the CIA: “These are patriots. Whatever the report says, if it diminishes their contributions to our country, it is way off base.”

Retiring Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), vice chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, had some choice words regarding the release of the report as well. He stated, “I’m not sure how much in the way of so-called new material might be forthcoming, but what the report does say … is that there was no actionable intelligence gathered through the process of interrogation of these terrorists. That’s wrong. It’s simply just not true.”

According to Jose Rodriguez, former CIA national clandestine service director, “We got a lot of information from the detainees that eventually led us to bin Laden. And that is a fact. … There was someone we captured in 2004, who told us about bin Laden’s courier, and gave us his pseudonym.”

Recall if you will that it was Rodriguez who destroyed interrogation tapes in order to protect CIA case officers, methods and sources – and that’s what got Feinstein on a roll.

To cap off the idiocy that comes out of this administration, Press Secretary Josh Earnest declared during a press briefing Monday, “Even if enhanced interrogations did help find bin Laden, it wasn’t worth the damage that it did to the U.S.” Excuse us Mr. Earnest, but what would the damage to the U.S. had been if we had not used enhanced interrogations to help find bin Laden and other terrorists?

This report was written by Democrats for the sole purpose of damaging the Bush administration and America. The release will embolden our enemies. And it’s shameful.

Time Is Short for Race-Baiting Leftmedia

2014-03-27-40a62dd4.jpg

America is being roiled by racial huckstering. Huckstering that would be all but impossible absent the avalanche of mainstream media malfeasance that aids and abets it.

Such malfeasance is nothing new. In 1991, when Los Angeles TV station KTLA received what is arguably the nation’s first viral video of police beating Rodney King, they edited out the first few seconds showing King charging the officers. KTLA shared the video with CNN, which distributed it to networks that played it over and over. Virtually everyone used the same edit. Thus when the four officers involved were acquitted of assault – based in large part on King’s actions – people were infuriated. So infuriated they engendered three days of utter mayhem that killed 55 people, injured almost 2,000, and led to 7,000 arrests. In addition there was nearly $1 billion in property damage that included nearly 4,000 buildings being set ablaze.

It didn’t matter that in a subsequent federal trial for violating King’s civil rights, two of the four officers were found guilty and served prison time. The damage was done – and the media never accepted an iota of culpability for it.

The treatment the media afforded George Zimmerman proves they’ve sunk even lower. It began when one of their own, MSNBC’s Al Sharpton, a tax-evading, hoax perpetrating, Harlem riot instigating, racial arsonist of the first order turned Zimmerman’s shooting of black teen Trayvon Martin into yet another utterly misguided and erroneous national referendum on black/white race relations. Erroneous because Zimmerman was of Hispanic descent. That “problem” was “solved” by both CNN and The New York Times, which referred to Zimmerman as a “white Hispanic.” At least they got it half right. The AP, CBS News and the Martin family lawyer – appearing on Sharpton’s show – referred to Zimmerman as white.

Soon after, the media malfeasance reached gargantuan heights. NBC edited Zimmerman’s phone exchange with a 911 operator to make him sound racist. CNN suggested Zimmerman said “f–king coon” before it became apparent it was “f–king cold,” and the network was forced to walk back their “expert” audio analysis. ABC News showed video of Zimmerman’s head, but covered his lacerations with a chyron, even as they claimed he appeared uninjured.

None of it mattered. Zimmerman was acquitted. But that still wasn’t enough for much of the media that insisted the acquittal was due to Florida’s Stand Your Ground law, even though it was never presented as part of Zimmerman’s defense. Nor did it matter that the media’s despicable framing of the story led to a plethora of black-on-white violence by thugs using “payback for Trayvon” as their rationale.

One would think such media-engendered violence would cause those who report the “news” to be more diligent and careful. As Ferguson proves, the media were not only unrepentant but willing to double down on creating and collaborating with a racially charged narrative completely at odds with reality. As was the set-up with regard to Trayvon Martin, and the widely disseminated picture of him used to create the impression of innocence – despite the fact that it was three or four years old – “gentle giant” became the media catchphrase immediately associated with Michael Brown. In fact, the phrase was so ingrained that many people, including U.S. Attorney General and Sharpton-admirer Eric Holder, became indignant when Ferguson police released the video showing Brown participating in a strong-arm robbery just prior to his fatal encounter with Police Officer Darren Wilson.

That particular bit of reality became even more problematic when the media’s “star witness,” Dorian Johnson, not only confessed to being Brown’s accomplice in the robbery, but was subsequently revealed by irrefutable physical and eyewitness evidence to be lying when heinsisted Brown was shot in the back with his hands up. CNN tried to debunk the video, which was bad enough. But the media’s lionization of Johnson perpetrated the “Hands Up Don’t Shoot” meme that was an utter lie, and yet made it to the NFL field and the very floor of Congress.

With regard to Eric Garner, the media are once again attempting to keep the racialist angle front and center. And like the Rodney King case, the omission of critical information drives the agenda. One can have legitimately differing opinions about the grand jury’s decision not to indict NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo for the death of Garner, along with the proper or improper training of the police, Garner’s own culpability in resisting arrest, and even the absurdity of a cigarette tax so high that selling “loosies” becomes a viable, if illegal, enterprise.

What there is no question about is the reality that race was not part of the equation here. The reason we know that is because black business owners called the police to report Garner’s disturbance, while a black NYPD Police Sergeant named Kizzy Adoni oversaw Garner’s arrest and apparently did nothing to stop the officers participating in his takedown.

Again, one would think this information, which might go a long way toward defusing Sharpton and his equally contemptible race-baiting colleagues, would be widely disseminated. And again, one would be wrong. New York’s PIX11 mentioned Adoni back in July, but only in regard to a police report on Garner’s arrest. Her race was never revealed. Only Denis Hamill of the Daily Newsrevealed that reality, even as he admitted the Garner arrest “can’t be called a racial incident” as a result. Several different Google searches reveal other third tier news outlets disseminating the info, but all of them source Hamill.

Hence we have an effective blackout.

And the bet here is most Americans know why. The same media with a decades-long investment in a race-bating, progressive worldview isn’t about to let go. And if Americans must endure everything from misguided protests based on lies, to widespread mayhem and murder precipitated by the withholding of critical information, so be it. The racialist narrative must be served – without reservation or remorse.

It won’t last. A Gallup report released Sept. 17, 2014, reveals public trust in the media has tied its all-time low of 40%. Coupled with the advance of streaming technology and alternative media sources, it won’t be long before our dinosaur establishment media faces the ultimate choice: become accurate, or irrelevant. Decent Americans of every ethnicity, who yearn for genuine truth and justice, won’t have it any other way.

OPINION IN BRIEF

Economist Ludwig Von Mises (1881-1973): “The essential characteristic of Western civilization that distinguishes it from the arrested and petrified civilizations of the East was and is its concern for freedom from the state. The history of the West, from the age of the Greek polis down to the present-day resistance to socialism, is essentially the history of the fight for liberty against the encroachments of the officeholders.”

Columnist Thomas Sowell: “Every society has orders and rules, but not every society has the rule of law – ‘a government of laws and not of men.’ Nor was it easy to achieve even an approximation of the rule of law. It took centuries of struggle – and lives risked and sacrificed – to achieve it in those countries which have some approximation of it today. To just throw all of that overboard because of mobs, the media or racial demagoguery is staggering. A generation that jumps to conclusions on the basis of its own emotions, or succumbs to the passions or rhetoric of others, deserves to lose the freedom that depends on the rule of law. Unfortunately, what they say and what they do can lose everyone’s freedom, including the freedom of generations yet unborn. If grand juries are supposed to vote on the basis of what mobs want, instead of on the basis of the evidence that they see – and which the mob doesn’t even want to see – then we forfeit the rule of law and our freedom that depends on it.”

Comment | Share

Columnist Arnold Ahlert: “From the racialized mayhem in Ferguson and beyond, to the sexualized mayhem ostensibly rampant on our college campuses, the nation is witness to a common theme: the truth is ‘not important’ if it creates a ‘conflict of interest’ with the progressive agenda. Fortunately, it is an agenda increasingly defined by its desperation, and the plethora of lies and unfounded allegations it needs to sustain the all-important narrative necessary for its survival. The racial component of that narrative was dealt yet another blow Sunday when Eric Garner’s widow, Esaw Snipes, insisted the death of her husband wasn’t ‘a black-and-white thing,’ seriously undercutting the efforts of racial arsonists like Al Sharpton, Eric Holder and President Barack Obama who insists racism and bias remain ‘deeply rooted’ in American society. Baloney. It remains deeply rooted in a progressive agenda on the verge of complete collapse.”

Comedian Argus Hamilton: “House Republicans threatened to shut down the U.S. government over Obama’s executive order Friday. That’d be catastrophic. Roads won’t be repaired, home loans won’t get approved, and bureaucrats won’t be reachable by phone, and that’s if we can get the government up and running again.”

That still small voice

Part of our ministry is assisting in the development of character and leadership in athletes. In 2006, the Frederick County Christian Eagles were founded to use the sport of football to teach Christian character and leadership.   Many of those players I coached went on to play in college, several are now married, raising families, finding success in their jobs---they are productive members of society. The story does not stop there. In the midst of all that, I became acquainted with several current and former NFL players. They trained some of our young men in both football skills and character. And my relationship with the NFL continues to grow. Our efforts on character and leadership continue beyond the Eagles.

One man who sowed into these young players is Troy Vincent. Today, he is Executive Vice President of NFL Football Operations. He is a man of God and of great character. For the past four years, his body of work on character development is extraordinary. Recently, he has been part of the team at the NFL addressing the personal conduct policy that has been brought to the forefront of media attention with recent incidents of domestic violence and child abuse. Troy has written a column for TIME.com based on the theme of "that still small voice--do the right thing." It can be found in its entirety at  TIME.COM .

Troy believes Proverbs 22:6: "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Trouble is, many have not been trained up properly, so there is further need for mentoring and teaching. There is also a need for discipline when the lines are crossed. Troy states: "The privilege of playing football cannot override the rights of victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse." As a childhood survivor of domestic violence, Troy uses the platform of sports to speak into society. He says, "While the overwhelming majority of current and former players in the NFL are excellent husbands and fathers, over the long haul, there will need to be a culture change throughout the NFL and the business of football built on the cornerstone of character."

Soon, the NFL will announce a new personal conduct policy that may well set a national standard. It's about leading culture change by doing the right thing. Defenders of those who perpetrate violent crimes also must change. As Troy wrote: "They will have to gaze into the mirror of morality to reflect on where they draw the line so that perpetrators do not depend on representation that says you can beat your child or wife during the week and play on Sunday as a right of due process. It comes down to a question: How do you defend the indefensible? This is also a question for society. It is a question for those role models that young men and women admire...We must take action in a society where the noise of self-indulgence often drowns out that still small voice that whispers "do the right thing."" True. Do the right thing. Pray. Act.

Signing AmnestySen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., a leading opponent of President Obama’s move to provide amnesty for up to 5 million illegal immigrants, expressed astonishment Monday and ridiculed the administration for not carrying out the action through an executive order.

In remarks made at the Washington office of the government-watchdog group Judicial Watch, Sessions said: “I guess they just whispered in the ear of (DHS Director) Jeh Johnson over at Homeland Security, ‘Just put out a memo. That way we don’t have to enforce the law.’”

The news that Obama had not signed an executive order to carry out the policy he announced to the nation in a televised address Nov. 20 was broken by WND Senior Staff Writer Jerome Corsi last week.

As a result of the president’s use of a memo instead of an official order, the senator observed: “We don’t even have a really significant, direct, legal direction that we can ascertain, precisely what the president is doing. It’s a stunning event in my view.”

The senator believes the result was “the creation of a new, alternative immigration system” despite the fact the president “is not empowered to do that.”

You know it’s bad when the school employees admit even they wouldn’t eat the food they’re serving to students.

Wyoming’s Sheridan County District One business manager Jeremy Smith says his district dropped out of the National School Lunch Program “because there were just too many complaints,” according to Wyoming Public Media.

“Universally, it was, ‘We are starving. We are hungry. This isn’t enough food for us.’ But we couldn’t blame them, because I looked at that school lunch and said, ‘I wouldn’t eat it either,’” Smith says.

The district saw a 20 percent spike in sales this school year after it dropped the federal rules championed by First Lady Michelle Obama.

The district increased participation, but increased prices, too, to offer bigger portions to growing students.

Before Obamacare was pushed through Congress in 2010 by Democrats unwilling to consider opposition voices to the legislation, conservatives and doctors repeatedly warned the bill would destroy the ability for physicians to properly function inside a government controlled system. Those warnings went unheeded and now patients and those in need of medical care are experiencing even less access to primary care doctors specifically assigned to them under new healthcare regulations. From AP:

When Olivia Papa signed up for a new health plan last year, her insurance company assigned her to a primary care doctor. The relatively healthy 61-year-old didn’t try to see the doctor until last month, when she and her husband both needed authorization to see separate specialists.

She called the doctor’s office several times without luck.

“They told me that they were not on the plan, they were never on the plan and they’d been trying to get their name off the plan all year,” said Papa, who recently bought a plan from a different insurance company.

A FEW WHITE LIES

By Patrick Howley.

Infamous Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber told people not to read Obamacare, admitted he never knew how to control costs in the law and said he designed it by “throwing stuff at the wall” in one of his most characteristic public speeches. In between taking personal shots at conservatives, he actually thanked congressional Democrats for voting against their constituents.

As Gruber faces the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Tuesday morning, here are some classic Gruber-ish quotes from a San Francisco podcast appearance in January 2012:

Obama lied about the law and told congressmen to vote against their constituents’ wishes:

“I wish that President Obama could have stood up and said, ‘You know, I don’t know if this bill is going to control costs. It might, it might not. We’re doing our best. But let me tell you what it’s going to do…” (goes on to explain that some people would die without insurance) (49:55)

Gruber to face hostile House panel, tea party ‘I’m with Stupid’ T-shirts

By Tom Howell Jr.

A tea party group said its members will greet Jonathan Gruber, the man at the center of Obamacare’s troubled public image, with T-shirts reading “I’m with Stupid” when he shows up to defend himself Tuesday before what’s likely to be a hostile congressional panel.

Republicans call Mr. Gruber, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a key architect of the Affordable Care Act, while Democrats are rushing to put distance between them and their erstwhile star after several rounds of caught-on-tape remarks about the “stupidity of the American voter” and the need to game budget rules to pass Obamacare were made public.

The T-shirts, which were produced by Tea Party Patriots, are another symbol of how controversial Mr. Gruber has become as he prepares to face the House oversight committee.

“With all that’s going on in the Capitol, we didn’t want Mr. Gruber’s curtain call to go unnoticed,” said Jenny Beth Martin, Tea Party Patriots co-founder. “We commemorated his appearance, and in the spirit of the Season, we’d like to offer the Obamacare architect a dozen. He can use them as stocking stuffers for the economically unsophisticated.

Shocking: Prof Makes Students Recite Anti-American ‘Pledge of Allegiance’

Share

If you sign up for Denver college professor Charles Angeletti’s American Civilization class, be forewarned that you’re going to have to recite his invective-filled ‘New Pledge’ — and according to some of his students, also be ready to swallow a big helping of his politics.

Angeletti, who teaches at Metropolitan State University of Denver, has students learn an anti-American spoof of the Pledge of Allegiance that denounces the U.S. as a Republican-controlled bastion of injustice, all while spewing his own far-left brand of politics, according to current and former students.

“I pledge allegiance to and wrap myself in the flag of the United States Against Anything Un-American,” reads Angeletti’s version. “And to the Republicans for which it stands, two nations, under Jesus, rich against poor, with curtailed liberty and justice for all except blacks, homosexuals, women who want abortions, Communists, welfare queens, treehuggers, feminazis, illegal immigrants, children of illegal immigrants, and you, if you don’t watch your step.”

The anti-U.S. recitation, first reported by higher education blog Campus Reform, was a satirical pledge aimed at getting students to question their nation’s leadership, Angeletti said. The self-proclaimed atheist and socialist told the site that he has been distributing the pledge in his classes for nearly 20 years as part of his lesson plan.

Prof. Tells Students Not to ‘Tell Anybody’ About His Vexed Tea Party ‘Analogy’ — He Didn’t Know It Was Already Caught on Video

By Jason Howerton.

A psychology professor at South Texas College in Weslaco, Texas, was seemingly caught on video last month comparing the tea party to the Nazis of the 1930s in Germany.

He then told his students not to “tell anybody” about his remarks — but one of his students had already started filming after he allegedly called Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) a “bastard” for using the name “Cruz” to win his election.

“In 1931, which was really interesting, the Nazis — people were kind of tired of them. They’ve been around since 1920, 11 years now. They’ve won seats — they’re like the tea party! That’s such a good example,” the professor said. “Don’t tell anybody I said that though.”

He continued: “But in the sense of how they politically came to power, there’s a good analogy there. That eventually people realized, ‘Oh, these Nazis are a bunch of nuts,’ ‘These tea party people are a bunch of nuts.’ I mean, the analogy really is a good analogy.”

Eric Holder's Justice Department worked directly with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to deny legal businesses banking and lending services according to a new new House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The report,“Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation’s (FDIC) Involvement in ‘Operation Choke Point’,” details the agency's close relationship with the Department of Justice (DOJ) to deny banking services to gun stores, porn stars and even short-term lenders.

The investigation by the Committee found documents revealing that the DOJ actively partnered with the FDIC in the prosecution of the infamous "Operation Choke Point." FDIC’s participation in Operation Choke Point included requests for information about the investigation, discussions of legal theories and the application of banking laws, and the review of documents involving FDIC-supervised institutions obtained by DOJ in the course of its investigation. FDIC also originated the list of “high risk” industries included in the DOJ subpoenas. Documents provided to the Committee also show that senior leadership at the FDIC opposed certain industries on purely moral and political grounds.

The Chairman of the House Government Oversight Committee issued a scathing statement denouncing the FDIC and DOJ:  “It’s appalling that our government is working around the law to vindictively attack businesses they find objectionable,” said Rep. Darrell Issa.  “Internal FDIC documents confirm that Operation Choke Point is an extraordinary abuse of government power. In the most egregious cases, federal bureaucrats injected personal moral judgments into the regulatory process. Such practices are totally inconsistent with basic principles of good government, transparency, and the rule of law.”

Key findings by the Committee include:

1)  The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the primary federal regulator of over 4,500 banks, targeted legal industries. FDIC’s explicitly intended its list of “high-risk merchants” to influence banks’ business decisions. FDIC policymakers debated ways to ensure that bank officials saw the list and “get the message.”

2)  Documents produced to the Committee reveal that senior FDIC policymakers oppose payday lending on personal grounds, and attempted to use FDIC’s supervisory authority to prohibit the practice.  Personal animus towards payday lending is apparent throughout the documents produced to the Committee.  Emails reveal that FDIC’s senior-most bank examiners “literally cannot stand payday,” and effectively ordered banks to terminate all relationships with the industry.

3) In a particularly egregious example, a senior official in the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection insisted that FDIC Chairman Martin Gruenberg’s letters to Congress and talking points always mention pornography when discussing payday lenders and other industries, in an effort to convey a “good picture regarding the unsavory nature of the businesses at issue.”

4) FDIC equated legitimate and regulated activities such as coin dealers and firearms and ammunition sales with inherently pernicious or patently illegal activities such as Ponzi schemes, debt consolidation scams, and drug paraphernalia.

Most Second Amendment advocates noted that Operation Choke Point was nothing more than a backdoor effort to put gun stores out of business.

Down to "Bidness"

Down to “Bidness”

Having “begun a good work,” the TEA Party must not letup- for a single, tiny second! When I hear people in the bootlicking media, ragging on the TEA party, I’m not surprised. They are simply team players: for the other team! If the home team called up the upcoming opponent, and said, “Hey guys, do you suppose you could share your gameplan for us… with us?” The raucous laughter that would follow the loud click and dial tone, would be punctuated with plenty of: “What the heck are they smokin’?”

The frustration with the whole rotten mess is, at times, crippling. New revelations- that simply confirm old revelations- that GOP leadership is selling out the party, AND, the country: with “trickeration” that Obama, Pelosi, and Reid: can only envy- just adds to the despair! In it’s apparent obsession with sweet ink from the Quisling press, (“See, see, we’re really nice people, and not ‘extremists!’”) the republican puppets willingly dance; the liberal puppetmasters laughingly pull the strings. Republicans are perfectly willing to sell out the country- now and forever- if the New York Times would just PLEASE, say something nice about them! We can only dream they had the guts to be: “mean!”

The DC, ruling class establishment, hates the TEA party for essentially ONE reason. The TEA party is the true voice of the American people! Despite all the lies: misinformation, disinformation, and propaganda- the TEA party stands against the ruling class agenda! We MUST NOT STOP!

When the TEA party came into being, we were filled with fresh-faced enthusiasm and a lot of energy. We had no idea what we were up against. The left is very good at the game and business of politics, because, it is the air they breathe. We were a bit naive, but “rearing to go!”

There is something called the 80/20 rule. The “Pareto Principle.” We must learn the lesson of it. The left knows it well. Maybe it’s instinct: maybe they’ve studied it. I don’t know. I do know, if you ignore this brilliant insight, and your enterprise has anything to do with human beings, you are already half a mile from the starting line when the starter fires the gun! The issue is leadership.

We must not tire, or let up- the left is relentless! For them, EVERYTHING is political: money, food, even sex. We simply cannot grasp, that people can be so driven: over something that we usually find repugnant! Get over it! Plato is said to have stated: “The price of apathy toward public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.” To that, I can only add: DUHHH! The future of the country, our children, and grandchildren, is what is at stake. The sacrifice of millions of past and present military people- including roughly a million and a half who died in battle- since the founding, demand it!  The preservation of the greatest nation in history, is reason enough, to renew our strength and dedication, to the cause, of reigning in Jabba the Gov, and the malignant ruling class trolls!

The fight for freedom is NEVER over! Sorry. The TEA party is a clearinghouse for people who get it. If you are a veteran, put down the rifle- and take up the fight! Your courage and leadership are needed now, more than ever. We are still in the area where we can win in the “arena of ideas.” We must know our history, the issues, and tactics of the left!  Who knows how long that window will remain open! The more people we can get onto the ideological battleground- the only acceptable arena- the longer that time will be, and the better our odds of winning. We need “all hands on deck.” We must be disciplined, determined, and relentless! Suck it up Cupcake! It’s a marathon. There is too much at stake.

All of that is worth a cup of cold spit, if we don’t start with the basics. Read and ponder Second Chronicles 7: 14! If that is not our starting point: WE LOSE!

The saying "hypocrisy knows little bounds" is on full display in Washington, DC this week as lobbyists for some Native American tribes and tribal casinos work the halls of Capitol hill in a last ditch effort to remove language from a Defense Department spending bill that would create thousands of jobs in Arizona.  The language in question would allow copper mining in a desolate area in Arizona by swapping nearly 5,000 privately held acres of land in exchange for 2,400 currently held by the federal government.

There is no debate about the economic value of the land swap.  Allowing mining will produce $60 billion in economic activity and create over 4,000 jobs.  Despite a U.S. Forest Service study showing that no Native American lands or sacred sites are affected by the mine or the land swap, lobbyists for some tribes are demanding removal of the language.  They claim the land in question was used to collect acorns and other medicinal plants by local tribes but the nearest reservation is over 20 miles away.  Incredibly, the same groups making these claims lobby on behalf of a tribe in Alabama looking to build a casino smack dab on top of an ancient Indian burial site.

Among those lobbying against the language is the Mapetsi Policy Group, a small lobbying firm filled with liberal former government officials from the  Obama administration and Capitol Hill.  The Mapetsi Policy Group represents the Poarch Band of Creek Indians in Alabama and their efforts to allow a $250 million casino expansion project on top of the ancient burial lands of the Muscogee Nation tribe.  Unlike the Arizona project, the casino expansion truly affects sacred Native American land as over 60 grave sites have been desecrated by the casino project.

Likewise, the National Indian Gaming Association (NIGA), a coalition of Indian tribes with casino ownership, supports the Poarch Creek casino expansion and is demanding that the Arizona language be stripped from the bill.  It is clear that these groups care more about who is paying their lobbying fees that about protecting Native American history and culture.

Federal land grabs have decimated large swaths of areas in the West from productive economic activity.  The Arizona language will produce thousands of well paying jobs while protecting the Native Americans.  This effort not only creates jobs, it exposes the agenda of the Beltway Bandits that prowl the halls of the U.S. Capitol.  Congress should ignore their last ditch efforts to stop job creation.

Ghetto Goosesteppers Wont End Police Brutality

4064023386?profile=original

The rioting and now invasive protests ( mass trespassing into stores; shutting down traffic ) following developments in the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases won't do much to end police brutality. At the dawn of my anti-crime activism, the Rodney King beating was the state-sanctioned outrage which set off a powder keg then-president George H.W. Bush had to dampen.

Unlike gang members and individual thugs who used that occasion to rampage, my friends and I staged a non-violent march whose notable stops included the local mall and the mayors office, where her honor met with us inside her office. The gulf between reactions then and now is much greater than the mere passage of years. Back then, it was clear that a very violent subset was using the perception of Rodney King as a victim to further their purposes.

Subsequent information about his past and untimely demise underscored why ghetto goose steppers identifed so strongly with him.

I think the infamous victory dance of Damian " Football " Williams4064023301?profile=original over Reginald Denny's prone form captured in one stark  freeze frame the growing gulf between chocolate Klansmen and an increasingly besieged Black community.
Fast forward to 2014 and it's clear Williams combative constituency has grown by leaps and bounds! Ghetto goose stepping, seen in daily violent crime and now upgraded to mob form in the name of recent high profile cases, won't stop police brutality. Their rage only serves to justify understandably aggressive law enforcement, private security and self defense strategies.

A quick review of rioters and predatory protesters backgrounds would doubtlessly reveal lengthy criminal records. Their anger about the Brown and Garner cases stems in large part from seeing themselves in the same position while apprehended during clearly criminal lifestyles. They don't want an end to police brutality, they desire an end to police interference ( as they see it ) in their larcenous lifestyle. Obviously, every Black person protesting or even upset by these cases isn't a ghetto goose stepper.

My acute concern is the role chocolate Klansman and White trash anarchists play in this unfolding debate about police brutality.

At some point, even president Obama and other indulgent liberal politicians will declare enough is enough!

I'd hate to see good, though misguided, people harmed because they opted not to separate themselves from ghetto goose steppers when the hammer finally comes down.

The bitter irony is, for good Black folks who've taken to the streets, ghetto goose steppers already harm their community- far more than police or even alleged White vigilantes.

Reasonable talk about police body cameras; special prosecutors; civilian review boards; independent police monitors and even re-visiting the extent police powers in the 21st century, are lost amidst the noisy destruction ghetto goose steppers gleefully inflict upon society.

Their goose stepping can also drown out chances for coalition-building outside loud liberal ranks needed to adequately address police brutality.

Down Goes Another Democrat

The GOP picked up another Senate seat Saturday. The Associated Press reports, “Republican Rep. Bill Cassidy defeated Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu on Saturday, denying her a fourth term and extending the GOP’s domination of the 2014 midterm elections that put Republicans in charge of Capitol Hill for the final two years of President Barack Obama’s tenure. With Cassidy’s victory, Republicans will hold 54 seats when the Senate convenes in January, nine more than they have now.” Landrieu failed in her bid to stave off the GOP tide, even though she pushed the Keystone XL pipeline. Louisiana voters saw through the charade, however, and opted to aid a higher purpose – stopping Barack Obama. Her loss also means that 30 of the 60 Senate Democrats who voted for ObamaCare are no longer in Congress. Talk about an albatross.More…

Nearly 12 Million Have Left the Workforce Under Obama

November’s jobs report no doubt contained good news. Payrolls jumped by 321,000, which was far above the 230,000 jobs forecast by economists. September and October also saw positive revisions. The most recent year with superior job growth was 1999. Add it all up, and the economy has clearly turned a corner after subsequent years in deep shambles. However (how many times have we had to say that?), the economy continues to lag significantly in potential; you can thank the Obama recovery for that. The one particularly troubling statistic pertains to the labor participation rate that remained unchanged last month at 62.8% – meaning 92,447,000 Americans aren’t seeking a job. The cumulative effect of a stubbornly low participation rate is alarming to say the least, as nearly 12 million workers have called it quits during Obama’s presidency. CNSNews.com reports, “When President Obama took office in January 2009, there were 80,529,000 Americans who were not participating in the office, which means that since then, 11,918,000 Americans have left the workforce.” That’s far more than the number of jobs Obama claims to have “created.” So while the headline employment numbers have improved, there are still underlying problems that remain unresolved. That is why speculators remain pessimistic despite the media’s rosy narrative. More…

Jihadist Relieves Himself, Thwarts U.S. Hostage Rescue

The Navy SEALs’ attempted rescue of American journalist Luke Somers, who was captured by al-Qaida in Yemen, did not play out like the heroic 1976 Israeli hostage rescue, Operation Entebbe. The jihadists released a video telling the U.S. to comply with their demands (which they didn’t state in the video) or else Somers would die within 72 hours. In a statement, Barack Obama said, “Other information also indicated Luke’s life was in imminent danger. Based on this assessment, and as soon as there was reliable intelligence and an operational plan, I authorized a rescue attempt.” However, as the 40-man special operations team was establishing a perimeter, a jihadist stepped outside – probably to go to the bathroom – and saw the rescue force. U.S. officials say Somers was executed. However, the Wall Street Journal commends the Obama administration for taking a hard line against jihadist kidnappers. Terrorists now know if they kidnap Americans, they might wake up to the knock of a U.S. commando team in the middle of the night. More…

White House Mulls Destroying Relationship With Israel

The White House and the State Department deflected questions from Washington reporters about an Israeli newspaper story alleging the Obama administration is considering slapping sanctions on Israel. Both White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest and State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf refused to talk about the sanctions with reporters because it’s “internal deliberations.” According to Haaretz, the U.S. may impose sanctions on its ally because it continues to build settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. According to Yeshiva World News, the U.S. is also considering withdrawing its political protection of Israel at the UN, allowing anti-Israel motions to move through the international body. The Washington Free Beacon quotes an anonymous senior congressional aide: “If these reports are true, this would mark a new era of unprecedented hostility from the White House against our strongest ally in the Middle East. It’s impossible not to notice the irony of the administration mulling sanctions on Israel while threatening to veto new sanctions against Iran.”

Deportation Policies Let Almost Anyone Stay

While an Immigration and Customs Enforcement report shows deportations in general droppedduring the 2014 fiscal year, the report goes on to say that immigration enforcement officials are lax with illegal immigrants who have committed crimes. According to the Removal Operation Report for fiscal year 2014, 30,862 foreign criminals were released into the United States. Of the 315,943 people deported from the United States, the majority were caught at the border and 86,923 were caught committing a crime. The drop in deportations comes as the Obama administration has set high low standards on who it will and will not deport. In a statement, Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) told the Los Angeles Times, “We essentially tell citizens of other countries, ‘If you come here, you can stay – don’t worry, we won’t deport you.’ The reality on the ground is that unless you commit multiple crimes, the chances of your being removed from this country are close to zero.” More…

RIGHT ANALYSIS

From the Department of Corrections

2014-12-08-f614fb21.jpg

The Leftmedia have a story to tell, and they’re generally not going to let facts get in the way. This truth came in to stark relief with Friday’smassive correction Rolling Stone issued to its November report on a gang rape at the University of Virginia.

The correction was so big, it may be easier to recount what the original report got right than what it got wrong. A quick recap:

A UVA student given the name “Jackie” recounted how a man Rolling Stone calls “Drew” and his fellow fraternity brothers raped her at a party. But among numerous other errors, it turns out Drew belongs to a different fraternity than the one in question, and there was no party the night Jackie says she was raped. Much trouble would have been avoided had reporter Sabrina Rubin Erdely not acceded to Jackie’s request not to interview the accused because she feared retribution. Bad decision.

The story was evidently too good to check because it fit the narrative of a widespread “rape culture” supposedly evidenced by the epidemic of sexual assault on campuses around the country. In fact, Erdely went around looking for just the right story to support that narrative. We’ve already questioned the breadth of the epidemic itself, and Rolling Stone’s shoddy and reckless journalism hardly does anything to correct the record, much less help true victims of rape.

Jackie may have been raped, and just because some of the facts were wrong doesn’t mean all of them were. And it should go without saying that this doesn’t invalidate other rape accusations. But truth cannot be a casualty of narrative.

Other media outlets swallowed Rolling Stone’s original story hook, line and sinker, leading to a cascading effect turning a lie into a legend. Media often blindly take up a cause célèbre in pursuit of ratings and the almighty advertising dollar. (We note that this is one reason The Patriot Postdoesn’t accept advertising, instead relying on the support of our readers for our sustenance.)

It’s noteworthy that, just like the Jonathan Gruber videos, the UVA story began to fall apart because of the efforts of an independent blogger.

Worked into a tizzy by Rolling Stone’s story, feminists hammered “rape apologists” who dared ask questions. To them, men accused of rape are guilty until proven innocent. And to many of them, they’d even rather cling to a false story than admit men are innocent.

That recalls the response to rape accusations against Duke University’s lacrosse team several years ago. Those likewise proved to be false, though only after the reputations of those young men were destroyed.

Nevertheless, UVA students protested, while university president Teresa Sullivan responded to the allegations by shutting down activities at all fraternities and sororities. When Rolling Stone essentially retracted the story, Sullivan didn’t apologize for overreacting – she doubled down. “Over the past two weeks,” she said in a statement, “our community has been more focused than ever on one of the most difficult and critical issues facing higher education today: sexual violence on college campuses. Today’s news must not alter this focus.”

Reason Contributing Editor Cathy Young concludes: “Commentators across the political spectrum have expressed concern that Rolling Stone’s sloppy journalism will damage what Bloomberg View columnist Megan McArdle calls ‘the righteous fight for rape victims.’ But despite its righteous goals, the crusade against rape has leaned too far toward promoting the dangerous idea that accusation equals guilt and that to doubt an accuser’s word is heresy. Finding the balance between supporting victims and preserving the presumption of innocence is a difficult line to walk. Perhaps the lessons of the UVA story will help steer the way toward such a balance.”

In Young’s separate analysis of the Obama administration’s Department of Education push to have colleges and universities more vigorously prosecute sexual assault, she writes, “The Department of Education has recommended that colleges use the lowest burden of proof – ‘preponderance of the evidence,’ which means a finding of guilt if one feels the evidence tips even slightly toward the complainant. Missing is virtually any recognition of the need for fairness to the accused.”

Bottom line: Sexual assault allegations should be investigated and prosecuted by qualified law enforcement agencies, not on the pages of Rolling Stone or other pop media outlets.

America’s Shrinking

2014-12-08-75bedf4a.jpg

Days after headlines captured America’s slide from its status as the world’s number one economy to number two behind China, a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report spun off a few articles about America’s declining birthrate. Let’s just say if you’re an employed taxpayer, you’d best grab your wallet.

While many in the ranks of high-brow policy don’t want to engage in the discussion of what many deem as so-called cultural “wedge” issues such as abortion, fertility and population, it’s all about the math. And that math has implications in tax policy, foreign policy, health care policy – you name it. The reality remains that if there are fewer babies, there are fewer future workers and consumers.

Let’s look at the math as it relates to our standing economically.

If our population does not replace itself, the labor market – and with it the tax base – will shrink, all while government spending rages on.

What does that CDC report say?

“Childbearing is on the decline in the United States overall and among women under age 30 and women in each of the largest race and Hispanic origin groups.” In 2013, the birthrate his a near-low of 1.86 live births per female.

The big deal?

A birth rate of 2.1 children per childbearing female is necessary just to maintain stasis. The U.S. missed the mark for the first time in 1972, and it has hit “replacement” numbers only twice since then – in 2006 and 2007.

The good news is abortions are down, too. Consistent and intense educational efforts of the pro-life movement through ultrasounds during pregnancy in tandem with state policy efforts to defund “health care” clinics offering abortion on demand has reduced the number of abortions performed.

As for the overall birthrate, the contributing factors have been the economic pressures of the 2007 recession either delaying or cancelling family plans, a more educated population that delays the birth of children, and other things such as gender disorientation pathology, access to long-acting birth control, and, candidly, selfishness that refuses to include others, such as children, in a myopic definition of success.

In light of this consistent, documented population decline, has our government spending seen appropriate adjustment? Has our need for military might changed? Are the IOU’s repaid in the “Social Security Lockbox” to fund the current retirees? No, no and no.

Still not convinced this is a big deal? Let’s look across the pond at Europe. The nations that currently make up the European Union (E-28) tracked their fertility rate at 1.45 live births per women in 2002 with only a slight increase to 1.58 births in 2012, as published in a May 2014 European Commission report. Clearly, that’s far below the demographically necessary rate of 2.1 for generational replacement.

The nations of the European Union continue to struggle with government spending that averages 49% of gross domestic product, with its member nations hovering around a 10% unemployment rate.

The National Bureau of Economic Research says it plainly in its online report, “The Cost of Low Fertility in Europe”: “In the long run, low rates of fertility are associated with diminished economic growth. … If fertility rates stay at current levels … Europe’s share of working-age people will fall from about 70 percent today to somewhere between 50 and 55 percent in the long run … a 25 percent drop in the number of workers per capita.”

Clearly, changes in population cause disruption in the demand for services, produced goods and the volume of money the populace spends in any given economy.

Here in America, this decline is seen most obviously in a single government program, which happens to be the largest federal expenditure after surpassing defense spending back in 1993 – Social Security.

When the first benefits were paid in the Social Security retirement program in 1940, there were 42 workers paying into the system for each retiree receiving benefits. As of April 2014, that number is 2.8 workers per beneficiary.

Furthermore, the U.S. Treasury has borrowed money from the Social Security Trust Fund and, according to the Trustee’s 2014 report, owes $2.8 trillion as of December 2013. According to the same report, due to declining birthrates and increased life expectancy, the trust fund will be exhausted in 2033, just 19 years from now. The Heritage Foundation, meanwhile, says it could be insolvent in just 10 years.

If America continues pursuing policies that transfer wealth from workers to non-workers, allows mass immigration of a new underclass that will only increase the pressure on government entitlement services, and refuses to recognize there must absolutely be a reduction in spending, we will only remember the good old days when our economy once led the world.

OPINION IN BRIEF

The Gipper: “I do not believe in a fate that will fall on us no matter what we do. I do believe in a fate that will fall on us if we do nothing. So, with all the creative energy at our command, let us begin an era of national renewal.”

Columnist Peggy Noonan: “[Obama’s] executive action on immigration, seen by many as daring and clever, may not prove clever. … In making that move he removed one of the Republican Party’s problems. They were split on immigration, their adversaries said the reason was racism. The whole issue roiled the Republican base. Now the president has taken it out of their hands. And he has united them in their condemnation of the manner in which he did it. At the same time the president took an issue that was a daily, agitating mobilizer of his base and removed it as a factor. He took the kettle off the heat – but that kettle had produced a lot of steam that provided energy to his party. Now the president has to implement his directive, and implementation has never been his strong suit. He has to tamp down grievance from those who came here legally or are waiting in line. He has to answer immigration activists who think they got too little. He has to face all the critics who will experience and witness the downside of his action on the border. He took an issue that was a problem for Republicans, and made it a problem for Democrats. That may well prove a political mistake of the first order.”

Columnist Jonah Goldberg: “[Sen. Chuck] Schumer’s speech at the National Press Club is a marvel to behold. … ‘Democrats must embrace government. It’s what we believe in; it’s what unites our party,’ Schumer explained. ‘If we run away from government, downplay it, or act as if we are embarrassed by its role, people won’t vote for our pale version of the Republican view.’ … The senator has no principled objection to a government takeover of health care; what he objects to now is the timing. Back in 2009-10, he was a vocal champion of the law [ObamaCare]. Last week, he said, ‘Unfortunately, Democrats blew the opportunity the American people gave them. We took their mandate and put all of our focus on the wrong problem – health care reform.’ The senator said he still favors Obamacare’s goals, but ‘it wasn’t the change we were hired to make.’ Voters wanted Obama and his party to fix the economy. Indeed, in a remarkable moment of honest cynicism, Schumer went into great detail lamenting how the law was designed to help mostly poor people who for the most part don’t vote. Morally, this is a fascinating admission. In Schumer’s hierarchy of needs, winning elections for Democrats matters more than helping the truly needy. Call it uncompassionate liberalism.”
