Obama: Netanyahu Said ‘Nothing New’

(Read on for the full analysis of Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks below.)

In a rebuttal to Israeli Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech before Congress, Barack Obama petulantly insisted, “As far as I can tell, there was nothing new. … The prime minister didn’t offer any viable alternatives.” But neither has Obama, which is precisely the reason for Netanyahu’s visit. The problem isn’t that Israel has no strategy for halting Iran’s nuclear program; rather Obama doesn’t agree with the military response it would likely entail. He claimed, “Iran has in fact frozen its program, rolled back some of its most dangerous, highly enriched uranium, and subjected itself to the kinds of verifications and inspections that we had not previously seen.” What delusional absurdity. Iran is doing the complete opposite, much of it underground, but Obama nevertheless says his plan is working and nuked Netanyahu for opposing the deal that prompted negotiations: “When we shaped that interim deal … Netanyahu made almost the precise same speech about how dangerous that deal was going to be.” Well, yeah. Look at where we are now. Amping up the tough-talk even further, Obama promised, “What I can guarantee is that if it’s a deal I sign off on, I will be able to prove that it is the best way for us to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons.” And you can also keep your health insurance.

Pelosi ‘Near Tears’ Throughout Bibi’s Speech

2015-03-03-d89607bf.jpg

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi suffered mightily through Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech. And it had barely concluded before she released a statement: “The unbreakable bonds between the United States and Israel are rooted in our shared values, our common ideals and mutual interests. … That is why, as one who values the U.S.-Israel relationship, and loves Israel, I was near tears throughout the Prime Minister’s speech – saddened by the insult to the intelligence of the United States as part of the P5 +1 nations, and saddened by the condescension toward our knowledge of the threat posed by Iran and our broader commitment to preventing nuclear proliferation.” Netanyahu’s speech was of value because Barack Obama has so spectacularly failed when it comes to nuclear negotiations with Iran. Pelosi can cry about insults to her intelligence, but the real crying shame is her party is so partisan that many Democrats refused to stand even when Netanyahu declared there must never be another Holocaust. Astoundingly shameful.

House Passes ‘Clean’ DHS Bill

Left with no viable alternative, the House voted 257-167 Tuesday to pass a full-year funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security. More than two-thirds of Republicans voted “no.” The vote essentially ends the fruitless standoff over Barack Obama’s unconstitutional immigration actions, as the Senate passed the same bill, 68-31, last week. Unfortunately, Republicans spent more time fighting each other than countering Obama, and from the outset they chose an unwinnable strategy. As the old adage goes, never take a hostage you’re not willing to shoot, and Republicans clearly forgot that advice. Again. Speaker John Boehner blamed the Senate: “Unfortunately, the fight was never won in the other chamber. Democrats stayed united and blocked our bill, and our Republican colleagues in the Senate never found a way to win this fight.” But he also offered a silver lining. “I am as outraged and frustrated as you at the lawless and unconstitutional actions of this president,” Boehner told House Republicans during a conference meeting. “I believe this decision – considering where we are – is the right one for this team, and the right one for this country. The good news is that the president’s executive action has been stopped, for now. This matter will continue to be litigated in the courts, where we have our best chance of winning this fight.” Time will tell, but Obama has proved he’s not willing to bow to anyone. More…

SCOTUS Hears Second Challenge to ObamaCare

Today the Supreme Court will hear the arguments in King v. Burwell, a challenge to ObamaCare that contends subsidies granted via the federal health exchange are illegal under the “Affordable” Care Act because the law permits them only under state exchanges. The pressure is on Chief Justice John Roberts, who was the deciding vote when the court upheld ObamaCare in 2012. In his last opinion on ObamaCare, Roberts – to paraphrase Charles Dickens – made the law into an ass, declaring the federal government could compel people to buy goods (a.k.a. health insurance) by calling it a tax. Because he showed himself susceptible to political intimidation in 2012, the Left is now running editorials claiming that, if Roberts allows SCOTUS to strike down ObamaCare this time, it will show itself to be a bench of activist judges. In The Washington Post, leftist reporter Robert Barnes wrote, “[T]he eponymous head of the Roberts court has the most to lose. After all, its decisions cannot be respected if the court is not respected.” In his nomination hearing, Roberts said he was an umpire that called “balls and strikes and not to pitch or bat.” But if Roberts ends up being the meek umpire at home plate scared of the crowd, he may redefine “state” to mean any level of government. And that ruling will not only cement ObamaCare into law, it will open up a flood of federal government expansion. More…

Warren Buffett Doesn’t Like Being Demonized

Warren Buffett may be the poster child for the Left’s goal of taxing the rich through a “Buffett rule,” but it doesn’t mean the man likes the law when the political speech is stripped away. Sen. Elizabeth Warren has been griping about the rich, not hiding the fact she wants to strip Wall Street of its money. Buffett doesn’t like it and he put down a Coke long enough to air his grievance to CNBC. “She would do better if she was less angry and demonized less,” Buffett said. “I believe in hate the sin, love the sinner. And I also believe in praising by name and criticizing by category. … I do think it’s a mistake to get angry with your – with people that disagree with you. I mean, in the end we do have to work together.” Looks like Buffett wants the government to ask politely if it could just take his money. Notably, Warren attained her position by playing people like him against a jealous middle and lower class. In other words, it’s Warren’s style that made the “Buffett rule” popular. More…

RIGHT ANALYSIS

The Commando vs. the Community Organizer

2015-03-04-cb2487f3.jpg

In a much-anticipated and contentious address to Congress, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday spoke bluntly about the threat posed by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons. He was downright presidential – something our nation has sorely lacked for the last six years.

Netanyahu’s 45-minute speech recounted Iran’s past acts of terror, its continued call for the destruction of Israel, its recent success in spreading malign influence and control through the Middle East, and its track record of cheating and lying to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Netanyahu drew a line in the sand, and Barack Obama’s response will no doubt be on the wrong side.

Indeed, Obama immediately claimed there was “nothing new” in the prime minister’s speech, and in a sense he’s right: The facts about Iran are not new, nor are they in dispute, even among those currently negotiating with Iran. The key point is that Netanyahu and like-minded people believe the deal toward which Obama is working rewards Iran with a path to nuclear weapons rather than preventing Iran from obtaining them – something even the Obama administration still says would be “unacceptable.”

Obama obviously resents that a leader of Netanyahu’s stature would attempt to upset the diplomatic apple cart by speaking the plain truth at a time when the Obama administration seems determined to ignore the truth in pursuit of a deal –any deal.

Netanyahu raised three key points that the Obama administration is loath to acknowledge: The current Iranian regime is and will always be an enemy of the United States; Iran has proven time and time again that it cannot be trusted; and this is a bad deal we are better off without. These three points are unassailable.

Here’s the most critical excerpt of the speech:

“Don’t be fooled. The battle between Iran and ISIS doesn’t turn Iran into a friend of America.

"Iran and ISIS are competing for the crown of militant Islam. One calls itself the Islamic Republic. The other calls itself the Islamic State. Both want to impose a militant Islamic empire first on the region and then on the entire world. They just disagree among themselves who will be the ruler of that empire. … So when it comes to Iran and ISIS, the enemy of your enemy is your enemy.

"The difference is that ISIS is armed with butcher knives, captured weapons and YouTube, whereas Iran could soon be armed with intercontinental ballistic missiles and nuclear bombs. We must always remember – I’ll say it one more time – the greatest dangers facing our world is the marriage of militant Islam with nuclear weapons. To defeat ISIS and let Iran get nuclear weapons would be to win the battle, but lose the war. We can’t let that happen.

"But that, my friends, is exactly what could happen, if the deal now being negotiated is accepted by Iran. That deal will not prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. It would all but guarantee that Iran gets those weapons – lots of them. …

"The foremost sponsor of global terrorism could be weeks away from having enough enriched uranium for an entire arsenal of nuclear weapons and this with full international legitimacy.”

The Iranian regime is not just a regular dictatorship that hates and fears the United States. It is not Cuba, or Venezuela, or even North Korea. The senior clerics and office-holders in Iran are not just in power to enrich themselves and kill off their political enemies (although there is plenty of that in Iran). The entire leadership chain in Iran, from Supreme Leader Khamenei down through the legislative body and the parallel body of clerics that shape policy, are all true believers in the Islamic Revolution and as such are reflexively, congenitally anti-America. The “Death to America” signs so popular in Iran are not just political theater; they express the true feelings of the hard-liners who have ruled Iran since 1979. Despite all the swooning Western media talk about current Iranian President Hassan Ruhani’s “reformist” nature, he is of a kind with Khamenei, with his predecessor Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and indeed even with Old Whiskers himself – Ruhollah Khomeini.

Regarding Iran’s trustworthiness in any deal we might reach, we have said it so many times we’ve lost count: We are in the nuclear mess with Iran precisely because it has lied, cheated and obfuscated repeatedly under the previous deal known as the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Twelve years of work through the UNSC, the P5+1, the EU-3 and the IAEA Board of Governors were all about getting Iran to meet its sworn obligations under the NPT and demonstrate it was only working on peaceful nuclear energy.

In report after report the IAEA offered the same assessment going back to 2003: “We are unable to verify that all nuclear material in Iran is in peaceful activities.” But the Obama administration tells us with a straight face that somehow Iran can be held to the terms of a new deal.

As for the deal itself, political analyst Charles Krauthammer explained that it would allow Iran to finish the work necessary for an industrial-scale nuclear complex, including all the stages of mining, converting, processing, enriching and fabricating uranium. Only the final step of weaponization is left out of this deal, and Iran’s unresolved past and present weapons-related work is one of the largest points of concern at the IAEA. In other words, with the blessing of the United States and our negotiating partners, Iran would be allowed 10 years to build up its infrastructure without fear of sanctions or other penalties, and would suffer no penalty for splitting apart the NPT. This is a bad deal, and Netanyahu is right that we are better off without it.

Netanyahu ended his speech with a familiar refrain, but one that should not be taken lightly: “The days when the Jewish people remained passive in the face of genocidal enemies, those days are over. … For the first time in 100 generations, we, the Jewish people, can defend ourselves. This is why, as a prime minister of Israel, I can promise you one more thing: Even if Israel has to stand alone, Israel will stand.”

The Israelis have watched and waited as the United States and the rest of the world tried to convince Iran to give up its nuclear ambitions, but Israel will not wait forever. If Iran is not held to its NPT obligations to verify the peaceful nature of its nuclear program, a day will come, perhaps far earlier than any of us imagine, when Israel will decide it cannot wait any longer.

Finally, a post script of sorts. House Speaker John Boehner showed leadership in inviting Netanyahu to speak. He also very appropriately presented Netanyahu with a bust of Winston Churchill. In contrast, Barack Obama came into the Oval Office in 2009 to find such a Churchill bust, given by the British to George W. Bush. Obama promptly returned it to England.

Hillary Clinton’s Transparent Deception

2015-03-04-40ed3939.jpg

Hillary Clinton is reportedly telling donors she will enter the presidential race in April. She sees it as a move that would assuage worries within her party and prime the fundraising pumps. But Mrs. Clinton has far greater problems than when to announce her coronation bid.

Illustrating everything voters don’t like about the Clintons, The New York Times broke the storythat Clinton did not use or even set up an official government email account during her entire tenure as secretary of state. Instead, she used private email for all her official correspondence. Furthermore, the Times reported, her staff did nothing to preserve her personal emails on department servers. Failing to use a government email account for all correspondence is a violation of the National Archives and Records Act.

According to Jason Baron, former director of litigation at the National Archives and Records Administration, “It is very difficult to conceive of a scenario – short of nuclear winter – where an agency would be justified in allowing its cabinet-level head officer to solely use a private email communications channel for the conduct of government business.”

The Times reports Hillary’s staff turned over 55,000 pages of her emails to Rep. Trey Gowdy’s Select House Committee on Benghazi. But Gowdy responded that only “several hundred of these emails were … turned over” to his committee. He said also Clinton seems to have used multiple personal accounts. The primary one, clintonemail.com, was set up on the day her Senate confirmation hearings began in 2009. In other words, she had a plan.

“It was not as if she had both an official and a private email account,” Gowdy said. “She did not use personal email in addition to government email. She used personal email in lieu ofgovernment email. And she had more than one private email account.”

“[O]nly she has the complete record,” Gowdy continued. “And the committee is going to have to go to her, her lawyers and her email providers to ensure we have access to everything.”

Gowdy added, “One should also be concerned about the national security implications of former Secretary Clinton of using exclusively personal email accounts for the conducting of official U.S. foreign policy.”

By filing a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, Judicial Watch recently obtained a number of emails that prove the State Department knew immediately that our embassy in Benghazi was under attack by terrorists. The emails tell the story in a chilling series of short messages that describe the worsening events that occurred Sept. 11-12, 2012, as well as reveal the administration’s series of lies about what really happened. Not being privy thus far to Clinton’s own emails, we are left to wonder if the thousands of emails she generated on private servers over her four years as secretary of state will completely discredit her – that’s no doubt why she employed the method.

Clinton is by no means the first or only public official to use private email for public business, but she might be the first to do so exclusively. And media outlets Left and Right are attacking her for it.

Jonah Goldberg at National Review asked a particularly salient question about all the investigations into Benghazi. With the multi-thousands of pages of paper floating around, he said, “[Y]ou’d think the non-existence of an official e-mail account would have been noticed. Why did it take so long?” Goldberg credits Gowdy for being the first to notice the missing account.

But Ron Fournier, writing in National Journal, had harsher words for the aspiring first woman president: “Two weeks ago we learned that the Clinton Foundation accepted contributions from foreign countries. Assurances from … Obama … that [none] were made during her tenure … were false.” Both Clinton’s and Obama’s actions were “sleazy and stupid,” Fournier added. “We’ve had sleazy and stupid – and, now, with these emails, suspicious. If she runs, are we going to have a full Seven Dwarfs? Seedy. Sanctimonious. Self-important. Slick.”

Fournier concluded that it may be time for Clinton to abandon her White House bid.

Naturally, Hillary is defiant. Tuesday night at an EMILY’s List party, she repeated ad nauseam her usual sermon about women’s empowerment and hammered away at “that old trickle-down economics” class warfare. She said nothing about the emails. After all, the presidency is her right, and she will continue to pursue it.

We hope Gowdy’s committee throws a wrench in the gears of Clinton’s election machine. He’s determined to get the emails, while she’ll do whatever she can to stop him. But many Democrats who’ve already been whispering about dumping Hillary (again) might decide the timing is right to find a better candidate.

Philosopher Sir Francis Bacon (1561-1626): “It is a strange desire to seek power and to lose liberty, or to seek power over others and to lose power over a man’s self.”

Columnist Jim DeMint: “Despite the fact that Republicans have majorities in both the House and the Senate that were elected on a pledge to fight against President Obama’s executive amnesty, and despite forcing through a big spending bill at the end of 2014 with the promise they would fight later on Homeland Security appropriations, they are now punting the issue entirely. … The absurdity of this situation is that fighting the president’s executive amnesty through Department of Homeland Security appropriations was the strategy created by Republican leaders. Now that the time to fight has arrived, the generals are running from the battlefield and blaming the infantry they told to lead the charge. If the Republican majority in both houses of Congress is not willing to take a stand and fight against the government takeover of America’s healthcare system or the president’s arrogant usurpation of the constitutional powers of Congress, then what will they fight for? Who will stand with freedom-minded Americans who sent this majority to Washington to fight for them? I hope my former colleagues will ask themselves: ‘If not us, who? If not now, when?’”

Columnist Ben Shapiro: “On Monday, The New York Times reported that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton never – not once – used her official State Department email address for her official communications. … Welcome to the most transparent administration in American history, where the Federal Communications Commission can regulate the Internet and keep those regulations secret before a vote, where top government officials can deliberately hide their emails from the public, but where your health records, income and emails are all government business. … What possible violations of the Constitutional system will Americans actually fight? The list of possibilities grows short. Reports emerged this week suggesting that President Obama will consider banning bullets by executive order, effectively castrating the Second Amendment by fiat. Shrug. The Obama White House announced this week that Obama was ‘very interested’ in unilaterally raising taxes. Shrug. Democracies die not with a whimper or a bang but with a shrug. When we don’t care enough about the system to stop its breakdown … the constitutional order collapses. But so what? By electing Hillary Clinton the presidency, we’ll strike a blow against non-existent generalized sexism in American society. And that’s far more important than having an answerable, accountable government.”

– Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

I had such high hopes for Netanyahu’s speech before the joint session of Congress yesterday…such high hopes.

They were not realized…they were exceeded tenfold.

It was a speech for the ages…a speech not just for the Members of Congress, not just for the American people but a speech for the civilized world. Prime Minister Netanyahu came to Washington and delivered the goods in a way that made THE most compelling argument against Obama’s ‘deal’ with Iran imaginable.

Netahyahu outlined the specifics of that ‘deal’ that are out there and free game for anyone to look up online, making sure not to divulge any classified information. This served two purposes…first, to put the information regarding Obama’s deal on the table in an open forum before a worldwide audience and second, it brilliantly outlined for the whole world to see, the ulterior motives OF Obama.

The Obama ‘deal’ would allow Iran to continue on their way toward nuclear weapons…to continue to employ most of their current centrifuges in order to refine nuclear weapons grade material and to lift sanctions in a decade’s time thus freeing Iran to put their nuclear weapons program into high gear and build an enormous stockpile of the most devastating weapons on earth.

Such a ‘deal’ would only delay the time frame for Iran to possess nuclear weapons…

(teapartypolitics.com) - Just short of calling nObama a liar, Franklin Graham, son of famed evangelist Billy Graham, said nObama has been misleading Americans about Islam...In particular he took issue with how 21 Christians were executed on video and the President refused to identify them as Christians, instead calling them “citizens” and “innocents.”   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ttrYO0pms8  “The president is ignoring the fact that these are Islamic extremists,” Rev. Graham told Greta Van Sustren while appearing on her show. “And they are bent on destroying the West. They’ve already said they want the flag of Islam to fly over the White House.”       http://teapartypolitics.com/obama-cant-happy-franklin-graham-just-accused/

 Hilly Clinton, coin-operated policymaker
(Timothy P. Carney) - The latest tales of State Department ethics violations, foreign money, and special access would be surprising if they were about anyone but Hilly Clinton...Throughout her political career Clinton has always blended cash and policy. She’s not merely corporatist by disposition, like, say Tim Geithner or Lindsey Graham. She’s not simply sloppy on ethics, like Bob McDonnell or John Kitzhaber. Hilly is blatantly transactional in her fundraising and policymaking. And she wants to be president. Here’s the background on the latest Clinton story:    http://www.aei.org/publication/hillary-clinton-coin-operated-policymaker/

Austrian Parliament Bans Foreign Funding For Islamic Organizations
(investigativeproject.org) - The Australian parliament passed legislation on Wednesday prohibiting foreign funding for Islamic organizations in an attempt at curbing the spread of Islamist radicalism, Newsweek reports...The law specifically bans foreign funding for imams and mosques from some Muslim nations including Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Under the new legislation, Austria's 450 Muslim organizations must exhibit a "positive approach toward society and the state" in order to continue receiving official authorization. Sebastian Kurz, Austria's integration minister, said that the new provisions would inhibit specific Muslim countries from exerting "political influence" in Austria via financial mechanisms.       http://www.investigativeproject.org/4793/austrian-parliament-bans-foreign-funding-for

nObama Threatened To Shoot Down Israeli Air Force if...
(theconservativetreehouse.com) - An alarming report from Kuwait has surfaced which outlines a 2014 Israeli decision to bomb part of the Iranian nuclear facility, and President nObama finding out -through a U.S. State Dept source- about the plan...According to the report the U.S. administration told the diplomatic couriers the U.S. would challenge any Israeli flight and would shoot down if needed. The Kuwaiti media report, while using numerous unnamed U.S. sources, holds a great deal of credence if read by anyone who has researched the players and their historical positions within the U.S. as it relates to nObama’s ideology. Specifically the aspect of Zbigniew Brzezinski who we know holds a tremendous amount of historical sway with President nObama. Can't believe he would threaten Israel. He is definitely an enemy of America.        http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2015/03/01/report-president-obama-threatened-to-shoot-down-israeli-air-force-if-iaf-mounted-strike-against-irans-nuclear-facilities/

Report: nObama threatened to shoot down Israeli jets
(wnd.com) - President Barack nObama thwarted an Israeli military attack against Iran’s nuclear facilities in 2014 by threatening to shoot down Israeli jets before they could reach their targets in Iran...according to a Kuwaiti newspaper cited by the Bethlehem-based news agency Ma’an. In the wake of nObama’s purported threat, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was said to be forced to abort the strike on Iran. Israel National News published an account of the report from Al-Jarida. It said the Netanyahu government decided to attack Iran “some time in 2014 soon after Israel had discovered the United States and Iran had been involved in secret talks over Iran’s nuclear program and were about to sign an agreement in that regard behind Israel’s back.” The report claimed an unnamed Israeli minister who has good ties with the nObama administration disclosed details of the attack plan to U.S. Secretary of State Hanoi John Kerry, and that “nObama then threatened to shoot down the Israeli jets before they could reach their targets in Iran.”      http://www.wnd.com/2015/03/report-obama-threatened-to-shoot-down-israeli-jets/

“All” violence against Jews in France are committed by Muslims
(pamelageller.com) - Finally, the truth. And with it the falling out. The idea that nazis are the problem is just a cover for Islamic Jew-hatred. The nazis were defeated...Their partners in the war against the Jews, the Muslims, were not. And they are the problem. Notice how people have begun to admit to what I have been saying for a decade. The Muslims refuse to confront this. Instead of facing the problem, they get angry at anyone who speaks of it. Why? Because they support Islamic Jew-hatred — it is a tenet of their religion, a religious imperative.       http://pamelageller.com/2015/02/frances-top-jewish-leader-unequivocal-all-violence-committed-against-jews-in-france-today-is-committed-by-muslims.html/

Legitimizing Iran as a Threshold Nuclear Power?
(Yaakov Lappin) - The essential problem with the would-be deal is that it will leave Iran with an enhanced ability to enrich uranium -- an ability that can lead Iran to nuclear weapons production in a relatively short time...The purpose of an agreement is to push Iran away from the ability to make nuclear weapons. According to reports surfacing from the talks, the proposed arrangement will likely leave a good portion of Iran's known centrifuges, which enrich uranium, intact. Such a deal fails to provide any guarantee that this same infrastructure will not later be used to get Iran quickly to the nuclear weapons production stage.       http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/5294/iran-threshold-nuclear

nObama Judge Invites Repatriated Illegals To Return, Seek US Jobs
(Neil Munro) - President Barack nObama’s government is inviting many repatriated illegal immigrants back to work in the United States under a deal approved this week by a federal judge...The deal was finalized by nObama’s deputies and their ideological allies in the American Civil Liberties Union, via a courtroom negotiation under the supervision of an nObama-app0inted judge. The deal also provided $700,000 to the ACLU for the lawyers’ fees. The new deal creates a legal precedent that can be used to argue for the return of millions more illegal immigrants. That new policy is strongly backed by nObama, who says he welcomes the political changes brought by immigrants, and recently threatened law enforcement officers to resist his effort to rollback enforcement of immigration law. So far, the GOP leadership has failed to mount an effective or organized campaign to uphold the nation’s immigration law.     http://dailycaller.com/2015/02/27/obama-judge-invites-repatriated-illegals-to-return-seek-us-jobs/?AID=7236

Ted Cruz spills secret of GOP amnesty sabotage
(Garth Kant) - U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, strongly suggested the fix was in from the beginning by GOP leaders to sabotage the fight against nObama’s amnesty, saying, “The cake was baked from the start.”...The senator said that was evident to him immediately when GOP leaders chose a bill funding the Department of Homeland Security, or DHS, as the vehicle to try to stop the amnesty President nObama granted to five-million illegal immigrants by executive order in November. If the GOP leadership had really wanted to stop amnesty, Cruz explained, they would not have attached the provision defunding nObama’s amnesty to the DHS funding bill. They would have attached it to a bill defunding the Environmental Protection Agency, “or some other non-essential agency.”     http://www.wnd.com/2015/03/ted-cruz-spills-secret-of-gop-amnesty-sabotage/

Christians, Kurds and volunteers join to fight Islamic state
(themuslimissue.wordpress.com) - These poor Christians! What horrendous things they go through. Yet not even one country has come forth to offer them military protection, aid or finances. The Kurds initially lead Isis to the locations of the Christians and Yazidis and refused to hand them guns to defend themselves...The Iraqi military also lead Isis to their victims, to be massacred like lambs. It appears the Kurds are now collaborating more to work together with the Christians to battle against Isis. It should be of no surprise. Kurds although Muslims are a small minority group and one of the many infamous ‘kafir’ Muslims, always a target of persecution from the Muslim majority. Christians and volunteers from around the world have also started to come together to fight back against the horrendous Islamic massacres and persecution they go through. Why are billions of dollars handed to Gaza – created out of terrorism – while not even one cent is contributed to the Christians to defend themselves? In Iran Christians have now been asked to leave the country or face to be killed. And yet, nObama administration wants to deal with them.       https://themuslimissue.wordpress.com/2015/03/02/christians-kurds-and-volunteers-from-around-the-world-join-to-fight-islamic-state/
How big is the target
the government has put on your back?
Kevin “Coach” Collins

(coachisright.com) - Our friends at Americanfreedomfighters.com have examined hundreds of US Government documents and developed a clear list of characteristics Barack nObama’s Administration thinks are “red flag” indications that make us terrorists in their eyes.

All of these characteristics can be fully examined using the links provided by the authors.

All of the following “forbidden” thoughts or actions will make you suspect in nObama’s eyes.

Barack nObama thinks you are a terrorist threat if you talk about individual rights; support the idea of states’ rights; want to make the world a better place; identify with the colonists who fought the American Revolution; want to defeat Communism; believe America’s interests are separate from those of other nations; consider the state unnecessary; are intolerant toward other religions; are anti-Gay, anti-immigrant and/or anti-Muslim.

Further, anyone aligned with the following thoughts or organizations is suspect in nObama’s mind: the patriot movement; against equal rights for Gays/Lesbians; the Family Research Council or the American Family Association; believes there is a conspiracy to establish a North American Union; have joined a citizens border patrol – an immigration reform group, the Tennessee Freedom Coalition or the Christian Action Network.

The red flags continue with: opposing the “New World Order;” seeing conspiracies in government programs; opposing Agenda 21and/or FEMA camps; fearing gun confiscation; joining a militia movement; belief in citizen sovereignty, not paying taxes and speaking out against “bias” in our public life.

Here are more red flags: doubts the “value of mainstream” ideas; attending rallies nObama doesn’t like; showing religious “intolerance”; holds a “personal” grievance; suddenly acquires “weapons;” organizes a protest supporting “extreme ideas” nObama doesn’t approve of; being a “right wing extremist;” having patriotic or anti-UN bumper stickers; fierce nationalism; being afraid of attacks by government agents; believing religion should not be part of our government; or and being a member of the Army of God.

The “List” concludes by citing those who are anti-abortion; anti-Catholic; anti-nuclear; pro Second Amendment; support Ron Paul; Chuck Baldwin; and/or Bob Barr; who fly the “Don’t Tread on Me” flag; those that believe in “end of times” prophecies and of course Evangelical Christians.

If you are NOWHERE on this list you are probably not reading this on a conservative website, meaning you are quite possibly part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Israel Will Stand

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minster of Israel, delivered a powerful speech to Congress on Tuesday morning that made one thing abundantly clear, the leader of the free world does not reside in the White House.

Netanyahu’s speech stood in stark contrast to the irrational rhetoric the Obama administration continues to preach on a daily basis.

Such rhetoric on behalf of the adminstration insists on giving Iran the “benefit of the doubt” in regards to negotiations over a long-term nuclear deal while minimizing the actual threat such a “deal” would have on the Middle East.

Netanyahu articulated the threat posed by the “marriage of militant Islam with nuclear weapons”, while also establishing the moral basis upon which America, not Iran, will always be given the “benefit of the doubt”.

“America’s founding document promises life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Iran’s founding document pledges death, tyranny, and the pursuit of jihad”, stated Netanyahu. The Prime Minster then gave Washington a dose of reality declaring that “as states are collapsing across the Middle East, Iran is charging into the void to do just that”.

Netanyahu then elaborated on the threat posed by the nuclear agreement presented by the Obama administration stating that, “this deal has two major concessions: one, leaving Iran with a vast nuclear program and two, lifting the restrictions on that program in about a decade”.

He then concluded that the deal posed by Obama “doesn’t block Iran’s path to the bomb; it paves Iran’s path to the bomb.”

Think about that statement for a second knowing that this administration has threatened to veto future sanctions on Iran that would be imposed if the nuclear agreement fell apart.

Rather than having the fortitude and morality exhibited by Netanyahu, Barack Obama has instead bet the security of the world on the hope that Iran will change for the better as he has conceded to the notion that his “deal” essentially delays the inevitable.

In the words of the President himself, Obama admitted in an interview Monday night with Reuters, his “deal” ensures solely that “we’re able to create what we call a breakout period, a timeline where we know if they were to try to get a nuclear weapon“.

Meaning, Iran would only need to agree to maintain “the low levels of enrichment capabilities” they poses today in order “to ensure that their breakout is at least a year”, stated Obama.

This final long-term nuclear deal is predicated on the original Joint Plan of Action (JPOA) signed on November 24, 2013, that “halted” Iran’s nuclear-related activities in exchange for billions of dollars in sanctions relief.

Plagued by a willingness on Obama’s behalf to concede to the Iranian’s demands though, the original JPOA has been extended twice under the auspices of reaching a long-term solution.

Yet, as noted by Omri Ceren of Commentary Magazine, the original JPOA has “allowed Iran to continue making sustained progress along its uranium and plutonium tracks, contained no restrictions on ballistic-missile development, failed to open up Iran’s atomic facilities to verification, provided sufficient economic relief to stabilize Iran’s economy, and would last for at least 18 months”.

The interim agreement has been knowingly broken by Iran on numerous occasions with the latest example happening on November, 7, 2014.

According to a report by the U.S. to the U.N. Security Council panel charged with monitoring Iranian sanctions, the U.S. informed the panel that Iranian procurement agents have been increasing their efforts to illicitly obtain equipment for the IR-40 research reactor at the Arak nuclear complex.

The Arak nuclear reactor has long been feared by American officials who believe it “could be used in the production of nuclear weapons-grade plutonium”, writes Colum Lynch of Foreign Policy.

This should come as no surprise given that three days following the initial JPOA signed in 2013, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Zarif boasted to the world that Iran would press on with construction at Arak, despite “an agreement with the western powers to halt activity”.

The report also indicates that “foreign businesses and purchasing agents interested in doing business with Iran have been taking advantage of the improved diplomatic atmosphere to broker new deals with Iran”, notes Lynch.

Common sense would dictate that with evidence proving Iran has broken the interim agreement, all current negotiations should immediately cease and new sanctions should immediately be re-implemented.

Unfortunately with our President common sense falls to the way side as negotiations with Iran serve a purpose of legacy, not security or rationality.

In order for the President to have a foreign policy legacy that champions new “diplomatic relations” with Iran, the White House is willing to lie to the American public at the cost of our future security.

So, when the Secretary of State John Kerry announced in Vienna on November 24, 2014, that “Iran has held up its end of the bargain” in regards to its suspension of work at the Arak nuclear complex, he was deliberately deceiving the American public.

This pattern has become commonplace within the administration as officials lie to the public in order to uphold an image of a President who is steadfast and determined even though he is hollow and irresolute.

This administration has shown that it is willing to sacrifice the future for the present by ignoring Iran’s aggression in the hopes of gaining an illusory peace.

Rather than being truthful with the country, the President has subjected us into a deal with Iran that inevitably leads to two disastrous outcomes.

The first being that Israel goes to war with Iran knowing they have no choice as Iran enters the one year “break out” period alluded to by Obama.

The second outcome being a nuclear arms race in the middle east as Iran enters the “break out” period.

Both outcomes are inevitable under Obama as his deceit cannot hide the intentions of Iranian leaders like Masoud Jazayeri and Ayatollah Khamenei.

Jazayeri, the deputy chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces threatened only months ago “that aggression [on behalf of the U.S.] against the Islamic Republic of Iran would mean annihilation of Tel Aviv and the spread of war into the United States”, while Iran’s supreme leader Khamenei outlined a nine-step plan to “eliminate Israel“.

With threats such as these vowed against Israel and furthermore against the United States, it should be worrisome that this administration is willing to give Iran the “benefit of the doubt”.

This is a luxury in which Israel cannot afford, for if they are willing forgo their history in order to accept an illusory peace with Iran today, by tomorrow they will be destroyed.

I can promise you this and in the words of the leader of the free world, Bejamin Nentanyahu, “Even if Israel has to stand alone, Israel will stand.”

Republican Party Speaker, John Boehner has got to go!

75 Capitol Hill Republicans joined Republican Party Speaker, John Boehner in supporting all of the entire US House voting Democrat Party for totally funding President Obama’s Department of Homeland Security for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2015.

All of these 182 Democrat Party ‘YEA’ votes and 75 Republican Party ‘YEA’ votes were in support of President Obama’s ‘illegal’ immigration funding legislation.

While Americans and most Republicans are calling on Capitol Hill to ‘STOP’ President Obama’s ‘illegal’ immigration and to ‘STOP’ the spending, almost all Democrats and many Republicans are ignoring the cry.  All Democrats and 75 Republicans, led by Speaker Boehner, continue to support President Obama and reject ‘We the People’.

The Islamic Threat -- It's Already Here
There are varying opinions about the threat the Islamic State poses in the Middle East and Europe, and apparently there is no consensus about the coinciding Islamic threat against U.S. domestic targets. That confusion was on full display from the White House to Capitol Hill this week. After three Islamists were arrested in New York for plotting to either join 20,000 other foreigners now among ISIL's ranks, or turn their sites on domestic targets, FBI Director James Comey warned, "We have investigations of people in various stages of radicalization in all 50 states. ... This isn't a New York phenomenon or a Washington phenomenon, this is all 50 states. ... [Radicalization prospects] exist in every state. I have homegrown violent extremist investigations in every single state." Apparently, the primary domestic terrorists threat is not "right wing," as errantly asserted by DHS on the heels of Barack nObama's faux Summit on Countering Violent Extremism-The Patriot Post

Trying to Reverse a Homeownership Slide
Earlier this week the Census Bureau released more bad news for the c
urrent regime: The rate of homeownership has fallen to a 20-year low, continuing a slide that began at the apex of the housing market in 2004. Ten years ago, 69% of Americans owned homes, but that has fallen to 64.5% in 2014. As loose lips Joe Biden keeps telling us, Barack nObama's economy is terrible: "The middle class is being killed." Unfortunately, the economic conditions that led to the dramatic increase in the decade from 1994 to 2004 can't be duplicated today. What was once an era of steady, mainly full-time employment and ample economic growth has now stagnated to a point where those most likely to enter the housing market and become owners are saddled with part-time gigs and staggering student loan debt. Meanwhile, older generations have been struggling with issues of their own, as the equity they once possessed in their homes has long since been wiped out, leaving some unable to keep the dwellings they once owned. After the housing bubble a decade ago led to the economic devastation of 2008, it would make sense to tighten the housing market and have banks ensure that borrowers are more qualified. But recent steps by Barack nObama's Federal Housing Administration indicate the desire to return to the reckless practices that wrecked our economy in the first place.   -The Patriot Post

HIGH WIRE ACT FOR JEB AT CPAC
Will Jeb Bush make his case to the GOP base or will he stand his ground as a moderate willing to “lose the primary to win the general?” That’s the question hanging over today’s packed schedule at the Conservative Political Action Conference outside of Washington. CPAC, which is kicking the GOP nominating process into high gear, will afford the former Florida governor his best chance yet to make his case to the party’s conservative activist core. Bush will be interviewed this afternoon by Sean Hannity, who has been tough on issues like Bush’s support for citizenship for illegal immigrants and Common Core federal school curricula. Bush’s decision to emphasize his moderate stances or his areas of agreement with the party base, particularly on abortion, will tell us a great deal about what kind of campaign to expect from the GOP frontrunner.

Jeb says he ‘won’t cower’ on immigration - Wash Ex: “In perhaps his most campaign-style speech so far, not-yet-official GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush vowed Thursday not to alter his views on immigration despite intense opposition among some parts of the Republican base. ‘If I go beyond the consideration of running, I'm not backing down from something that is a core belief,’ Bush told a gathering of the conservative Club for Growth here in Florida. ‘Are we supposed to just cower because at the moment people are all upset about something? No way, no how.’”  -Fox News

 RUBIO SKETCHES OUT IMMIGRATION PLAN
David Drucker
nabbed a sit-down with Sen. Marco Rubio in which the Florida Senator laid out a few policy targets for a hypothetical presidency. Rubio spoke forcefully about undoing President nObama’s agenda on foreign policy and health insurance, but also hinted at what his immigration agenda would look like.  WALKER ROCKED CROWD, BUT HAS TO CLEAN UP ISIS   REMARKS
Wash Ex: “Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has walked back a remark in which he equated pro-union protesters in Wisconsin with the Islamic State. Speaking to a crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday, Walker was asked how he would address national security threats including the Islamic State. ‘I want a commander in chief who will do everything in their power to ensure that the threat from radical Islamic terrorists does not wash up on American soil," Walker said. "If I can take on 100,000 protesters, I can do the same across the world.’ After the comment sparked blowback, Walker said later he did not mean to equate the protestors in Wisconsin, who opposed Walker's move to limit collective bargaining, with terrorists. ‘My point was just, if I could handle that kind of a pressure and kind of intensity, I think I'm up for the challenge for whatever might come, if I choose to run for president,’  Walker clarified to Bloomberg Politics.”  -Fox News

Oil Smuggling Highlights Challenges in Shutting Down IS Finances
(Sharon Behn) - In the span of one year, Islamic State militants made more than half a billion dollars by seizing government banks, illegal oil sales, kidnapping and extortion, making them one of the wealthiest terrorist organizations in the world...The United States, its allies and the United Nations are making efforts to shut down the money flows. Airstrikes in Iraq and Syria have knocked out oil fields and refineries. The United Nations Security Council has adopted strongly worded resolutions to prevent oil smuggling. Pentagon spokesman Rear Admiral John Kirby said Friday that the Islamic State "certainly continues to get revenue from the oil industry black market" but that airstrikes have made a dent.       http://www.voanews.com/content/oil-smuggling-highlights-challenges-in-shutting-down-is-finances/2662884.html

Adm. James Lyons Explains nObama, MB & ISIS Almost to the Depths
(Arlen Williams) - This morning, Andrea Shea King conducted a brief (half-hour) and for the only major media -informed, very revelatory interview with retired Admiral James A. Lyons...It concerned the realities of Barack Hussein nObama, Muslim Brotherhood’s nObama-accelerated but longstanding infiltration of American halls of power, the use of the U.S. Department of State, and just a smidge about “our” corrupt (anti-)American exploits in “Arab Spring” lands. Of special interest to me, at the 16:40 point, Ms. King asks Adm. Lyons why the Gowdy committee on Benghazi is moving at a “glacial pace,” and the latter gives more of the answer than one usually hears, about what has become obvious. Why don’t you listen to it, rather than my transcribing?       http://noisyroom.net/blog/2015/02/27/adm-james-lyons-explains-obama-muslim-brotherhood-isis-almost-to-the-depths/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Noisyroomnet+%28NoisyRoom.net%29

Egyptian court declares Hamas a terrorist group
(themuslimissue.wordpress.com) - An Egyptian court has declared the Palestinian movement Hamas a terrorist organization. The group, an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, called the decision “shocking and dangerous,” saying it shows that Egypt is “serving the Israeli enemy.”... “The court ruled that Hamas should be included as a terrorist organization,” Samir Sabry, a lawyer involved in the case, told Reuters. The decision follows an Egyptian court’s ban on the Izza-Din al-Qassam Brigades, an armed wing of Hamas, in January. Authorities accused the group of smuggling weapons into the country to provide assistance to Islamists fighting against the current government. They also alleged Hamas’ armed wing had planned and carried out terrorist attacks in Egypt, including a shooting in Sinai on January 29, in which 33 people were killed.       https://themuslimissue.wordpress.com/2015/02/28/breaking-news-egyptian-court-declares-hamas-a-terrorist-group/

Above The Law, Defying the Court Injunction On Amnesty
(rickwells.us) - Under the nObama regime, the law is only intended for the peasant citizens of America, the little, insignificant and meaningless people who are the backbone of this nation...whose ancestors created it, and who are presently the host of their parasitic leadership. The elites in power have demonstrated repeatedly that they feel themselves to be above law, as are their new imported replacement population of illegal aliens. In this particular instance, the regime is doubling down on their criminality. They are violating an injunction issued in response to a previous violation of federal law. We need to understand that these are not common criminals; they are the communist operatives who fully intend to overthrow the government of our nation from within and that process is well underway. As such, our laws mean nothing to them. They are mere words on paper, or “worthless” parchment in the case of our Constitution.       http://www.rickwells.us/above-the-law-defying-the-court-injunction-on-amnesty-sheriff-arpaio-blows-whistle-on-outlaw-dictatorial-duo-of-obama-and-Johnson/

Terrorists threaten Australian Senator Jacquie Lambie with beheading unless she helps introduce sharia law
Australian Senator threatened with beheading unless...
(themuslimissue.wordpress.com) - Let’s stop continuing this sharade. Let’s stop pretending we have the bottomless funding, resources, knowledge or even energy and interest to be absorbed in this Muslim sewage and savagery...The most rational, cost effective and easy solution to this rapidly spreading disease is to deport them all and make it illegal to allow any further residency, asylum or refugees from Muslim countries or backgrounds. Ban Islam, tear down mosques and ban all trade with the Muslim world which is an endless resource for terrorism. Stop giving them the income to terrorize others. Stop constantly engaging with this pest and get engaged in their assumed rights and wants. Freeze them out completely and refuse to deal with them in any way, shape or form. Stop engaging and meddling into their issues all the time, pretending to understand what they are all about. Stop constantly handing them exaggerated human rights protection. Human rights is for human beings, not for demons. The history of endless wars have constantly been triggered by Muslims and the biggest mistakes the West has done, is to take arms to protect Muslim interest, fighting on the wrong side, whether it was WW1, WW2 and the Islamic holocaust, Lawrence of Arabia and his aid to Caliphate expansion, the allottment of entire countries to Muslim rulers, the assignment of oil contracts to illiteral savages.  Iran: Muslim cleric vows to “raise flag of Islam on White House”
(Robert Spencer) - As nObama continues to show weakness, the bellicose rhetoric from those who consider themselves to be at war with the United States continues to heat up. How long will pretending that we are not at war work as a war strategy?...A senior Iranian cleric with close ties to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed on Friday that “we will raise the flag of Islam over the White House” in response to the killing of Hezbollah and Revolutionary Guards operatives on the Golan Heights last month.       http://www.jihadwatch.org/2015/02/iran-muslim-cleric-vows-to-raise-flag-of-islam-on-white-house?utm_source=Jihad+Watch+Daily+Digest&utm_campaign=460c746a5b-Daily_Digest&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_ffcbf57bbb-460c746a5b-123451509
Why nObama Won’t Call the Jihadis Islamic
Robert Spencer
kl.gif
(frontpagemag.com) - Barack nObama aroused controversy over his affinity with Islam yet again in February 2015, when a photo surfaced from the U.S.-African Leaders’ Summit in August 2014, showing nObama passing by a group of African delegates with his right index finger raised in a gesture strongly reminiscent of the Islamic State’s now notorious one-finger salute.

For the Islamic State and other Muslims, this gesture signifies allegiance to Islam’s absolute monotheism. Whatever nObama may have meant by it, the revelation that he had made the gesture — coming so soon after his renewed refusal at his “Countering Violent Extremism” summit to identify Islamic jihadists as Islamic — raised new questions about nObama’s relationship with Islam. Why won’t nObama identify Islam as having anything to do with the jihadis, when they themselves consistently explain and justify their actions solely in Islamic terms? Why won’t he do anything about mosques in the U.S. with ties to jihad terror? Why does he coddle the Muslim Brotherhood? Why, in sum, does he seem to love Islam so much, even if he isn’t a practicing Muslim?

And it does seem most likely that nObama is indeed not a practicing Muslim, despite the remarkable persistence of rumors and suspicions to the contrary. It is extremely unlikely that a Muslim would publicly proclaim himself a Christian over and over, as nObama has. While it is possible that this would be justified under Islam’s doctrines of deception, there is no evidence that Muslims have ever behaved this way. Ground Zero Mosque imam Faisal Abdul Rauf did say several years ago, “I am a Jew,” but he only said it once, in the context of ecumenical generosity; he didn’t try to pass himself off as one. There is a way in which a Muslim could say he is a true Jew or true Christian because he follows the true teachings of the Torah and the Gospel, but there is no known case of a Muslim behaving this way in a sustained manner. If nObama were a secret Muslim, he would be the first Muslim to carry out such a sustained deception of claiming not to be a Muslim.

There is little doubt, however, given his consistent policies throughout his presidency, that nObama holds Islam in high regard, for whatever mix of personal affection (his father and stepfather were both Muslims) and political calculation (he may believe that calling the jihadis Islamic will alienate Muslim allies of the U.S., such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan, however unreliable those alliances have been). His Administration backed the Muslim Brotherhood regime in Egypt with such loyalty that Egyptian protesters held signs accusing nObama of supporting terrorism. He aided Islamic jihadis to overthrow Gaddafi in Libya and continues to aid those trying to overthrow Assad in Syria. (He insists that those he is backing in Syria are “vetted moderates,” but they have ransacked churches, terrorized Christians, and collaborated with the Islamic State too often for that to ring true.) He has repeatedly called for self-censorship to conform with Islamic blasphemy laws, most memorably declaring at the United Nations, “The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.”

And while his Justice Department aggressively pursues businesses and educational institutions to compel them to grant special privileges and accommodations to Muslims, it has shown no similar energy regarding terror-tied mosques in the U.S. Not only do these mosques remain open and their leaders uninvestigated and unprosecuted, but all too often the only contact law enforcement officials have with them is for “outreach.”

Only nObama knows what he may be thinking in all this, but a few conclusions seem obvious: he is afraid that speaking honestly about the jihadis’ motives and goals will alienate actual and potential Muslim allies. Since he believes Islam to be a peaceful religion, he doesn’t accept the idea that Muslims become jihadis because the Qur’an and Sunnah exhort them to do so. That leaves only the grievances that Islamic advocacy groups (and jihad groups) endlessly retail as the fundamental engine of the “radicalization” of Muslims – so nObama apparently sees redressing those grievances as the primary means of preventing Muslims from becoming terrorists.

This has led to foreign and domestic policies of accommodation and appeasement, along with an ominously cavalier stance at best toward the First Amendment’s protection of the freedom of speech. Coupled with a dogmatic refusal to identify properly those who have vowed to destroy the United States and address their belief system and ideology, nObama’s stance toward Islam is a recipe for catastrophe. The United States is weaker and more vulnerable for it.

“If two laws conflict with each other, the Courts must decide on the operation of each. … If, then, the Courts are to regard the Constitution, and the Constitution is superior to any ordinary act of the Legislature, the Constitution, and not such ordinary act, must govern the case to which they both apply.” –John Marshall, Marbury v. Hillary Clinton Broke Law Using Private Email Account

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) isn’t done leading the committee investigating the Benghazi attack, and already he’s dredged up a bombshell that previous investigative committees missed. During her time as secretary of state, Hillary Clinton never used a government email account – a move that violates federal record keeping law. Former Director of Litigation at the National Archives and Records Administration Jason Baron told The New York Times, “It is very difficult to conceive of a scenario – short of nuclear winter – where an agency would be justified in allowing its cabinet-level head officer to solely use a private email communications channel for the conduct of government business.” At this point, Clinton’s defenders may chime in: What difference does it make? Well, for one thing, if Obama’s administration is the “most transparent in history,” what would this mean for another Clinton administration? One clue: Clinton used a domain registered the day of her Senate confirmation hearings. Clearly, she had a plan from the start to obfuscate and hide her wheeling and dealing. It’s time she was put under oath again to defend this. Preferably before she announces her presidential candidacy. More…

Lawmakers Write ATF to Object to Ammo Ban

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives recently announced it is considering aban on M855 ammunition, which is popular among AR-15 owners for target shooting. The “rationale,” if it can be called that, is the ammo could be considered “armor piercing,” and, with the advent of AR-15 pistols, will become dangerous to police (never mind that zero police officers have been killed with it). Several lawmakers called out the ATF on its backdoor gun control in aletter. The ATF’s framework, the lawmakers say, “establishes an unduly restrictive standard, does not comport with the letter or spirit of the law, and will interfere with Second Amendment rights by disrupting the market for ammunition that law abiding Americans use for sporting and other legitimate purposes.” Of course, the Second Amendment isn’t primarily for “sporting purposes,” but they’re right about the infringement. Not that it matters to Barack Obama’s administration. Spokesman Josh Earnest explained, “I’d put this in the category of common-sense steps our government can take.” Ah, yes, “common sense” – who could possibly opposethat?

Netanyahu to Address Congress, Obama Calls It ‘Distraction’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to address Congress today to warn of the threat of Iran’s nuclear program. Advance details of his speech are limited, but one thing is clear: Barack Obama is really perturbed that Netanyahu is here. Administration officials have previously promised “there will be a price” for this “departure from … protocol” – despite Netanyahu having waited for Obama to be notified before accepting the invitation. (The New York Times finally got around to acknowledging this in a correction.) On Monday, Obama called Netanyahu’s speech a “mistake,” again pointing to Israel’s upcoming elections. “It makes it look like we are taking sides,” he complained, “It is a distraction from what should be our focus.” In this case, even Obama said the focus should be preventing Iran, the world’s foremost state sponsor of terrorism, from obtaining nuclear weapons. Unfortunately, he’s also lost this focus, recently indicating we just need to “reduce the possibility of Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon,” and, if it happens anyway in 10 years, what’s that to Obama?

IRS Says It Can Dump Gobs of Money on Amnestied Illegals

The Internal Revenue Service is digging in and standing by its claim that illegal immigrants areeligible for back tax credits if they get Social Security numbers. Under Barack Obama’s executive amnesty, four million illegal immigrants can apply for Social Security numbers. An unknown number of them will be able to claim back tax credits – even though Obama’s “law” doesn’t require them to pay back taxes. In a letter to Sen. Chuck Grassley, IRS Commissioner John Koskinen wrote, “Section 32 of the Internal Revenue Code requires an SSN on the return, but a taxpayer claiming the [Earned Income Tax Credit] EITC is not required to have an SSN before the close of the year for which the EITC is claimed.” Gee, remember a time when was the IRS this friendly to U.S. citizens? More…

Obama Lies About Keystone

Barack Obama earned the infamous “Four Pinocchio” rating from The Washington Post’s Fact Checker blog for his recent comments defending his veto of the Keystone XL pipeline. Obama’s argument wasn’t that Congress infringed on the executive branch’s responsibilities. No, he claimed to be doing what was good for the American people. “I’ve already said I’m happy to look at how we can increase pipeline production for U.S. oil, but Keystone is for Canadian oil to send that down to the Gulf,” Obama told a North Dakota reporter. “It bypasses the United States and is estimated to create a little over 250, maybe 300 permanent jobs. We should be focusing more broadly on American infrastructure for American jobs and American producers, and that’s something that we very much support.” But, as the Post points out, the oil that would flow through Keystone would also come from the North Dakota oil fields. And while construction wouldn’t keep any permanent jobs – few construction projects ever do – it would keep Louisiana refineries busy. Instead, Obama repeated an untruth to stick with his environmentalist dogma. More…

RIGHT ANALYSIS

DOJ’s Racial Witch Hunt Isn’t Over

2015-03-03-fb8e1b83.jpg

The Justice Department will soon release its final investigative report on the Ferguson Police Department, and chatter suggests the report will accuse Ferguson police of engaging in sustained discriminatory practices against the black population. Surprise! The report will allegedly also claim these practices led to years of racial animosity in the city, culminating in last summer’s shooting of Michael Brown and months of racial unrest.

According to recent data from the Missouri attorney general, blacks accounted for 86% of traffic stops in 2013, but make up 63% of the population. Black drivers were twice as likely to be searched during a stop, yet searches were more likely to turn up contraband with white drivers.

The fines collected from such traffic stops are Ferguson’s second largest source of revenue. The Justice Department report goes so far as to suggest that the city uses disproportionate traffic stops against blacks to meet municipal budget shortfalls.

The final report will likely include a list of recommended changes Ferguson will need to implement. Otherwise, the city could face a federal lawsuit to force compliance – just like the four open lawsuits against cities that have not rolled over. Most cities facing such actions comply with the Justice Department’s demands. During Eric Holder’s time as attorney general, the DOJ has gone after more than 50 police departments for some form of discrimination or another, often at the behest of the NAACP or the ACLU.

“This is about expanding federal power in the police departments,” former DOJ attorney Hans von Spakovsky told The Wall Street Journal. “The lawyers at Justice believe they are the ones who should be promulgating national standards of how cops should behave. And police departments are so afraid of bad publicity that they agree to settle the case with all kinds of rules that Justice wants to impose.”

It is within the responsibility of the Justice Department to investigate matters in which discrimination may be taking place, but, when the AG is someone who sees everything through a racial prism like Holder, the potential for trouble escalates. For example, Holder is so motivated by his own racial grievances that he resolutely refuses to address the outrageous number of murders of blacks by other blacks.

FBI statistics from 2012 show that 2,614 whites were killed by other whites that year, and 2,412 blacks were killed by other blacks. If Holder were as concerned about proportionality as he demonstrates when comparing white and blacks, then one would think he would have been troubled by these numbers. As a portion of the population, black-on-black murder remains substantially higher than white-on-white murder. And the FBI numbers for 2012 combined white and Hispanic murder rates, making the disparity even greater than at first glance.

Yet, throughout his tenure at Justice, Holder has maintained his focus on race, letting himself get mixed up with professional race hustlers like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. He has followed their pattern by continually blaming racism and discrimination for the plight of the black community. The actions of his Justice Department confirm Holder’s view that blacks are targeted for their skin color, not because of their behavior.

Perhaps that’s why Sharpton says, “No other U.S. attorney general has a civil rights record equal to Holder’s.”

Amy Wax, a former DOJ official teaching at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, wrote, “Contrary to frequently voiced accusations and despite a voluminous literature intent upon demonstrating discrimination at every turn, there is almost no reliable evidence of racial bias in the criminal justice system’s handling of ordinary violent and non-violent offenses. Rather, the facts overwhelmingly show that blacks go to prison more often because blacks commit more crimes.”

The Justice Department’s months of investigating did not bring up enough evidence to charge Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson with civil rights violations in the death of Michael Brown. Similarly, they were not able to pin such charges on George Zimmerman for the death of Trayvon Martin.

In fact, for all of Holder’s posturing, all Justice has really been able to accomplish is perpetuating the same problem they claim to be addressing. The pattern of racial indignation set by Sharpton and Co. that has been picked up by Holder’s Justice Department has only served to make police less likely to engage in minority neighborhoods. This won’t make inner cities less violent, and it won’t make lives better for blacks.

Shortly after taking office, Holder accused America of being a nation of “cowards” for not engaging in a frank discussion about race. As he prepares to step down in a few weeks, Holder still has not engaged in that discussion, either. He’d rather place blame and wag his finger because that’s what makes headlines and turns out the aggrieved vote. As for the real work that it will take to reduce black-on-black crime and make minority neighborhoods safer, well, apparently that’s just not worth his time.

Next Executive Overreach: Taxes

2015-03-03-374b607d.jpg

For someone who claims to be a constitutional scholar, Barack Obama sure doesn’t understand or respect the limits on the federal government the Founders put in place. Obama has ignored the limits placed on the executive branch, abusing his power in order to accomplish his agenda.

When Congress did not pass immigration reform in accordance with Obama’s wishes, he acted unilaterally. Obama’s executive order provided for more than four million illegal immigrants to receive some form of legal status – work permits, Social Security numbers and driver’s licenses. Instead of securing our borders, he wants to secure votes for Democrats.

Surely, Obama shouldn’t get away with this egregious overreach, but who’s stopping him? Worse, his immigration actions only established a pattern.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest indicated there are possibly more executive orders coming our way. Earnest confirmed Monday that Obama is “very interested” in taking unilateral executive action to raise taxes. He explained, “The president certainly has not indicated any reticence in using his executive authority to try and advance an agenda that benefits middle-class Americans.”

Earnest continued, “Now, I don’t want to leave you with an impression that there is some imminent announcement – there is not, at least not that I know of. But the president has asked his team to examine the array of executive authorities that are available to him to try to make progress on his goals. … [T]he president is very interested in this avenue generally.”

Obama is so bent on “fairness” that he’s willing to “examine” the possibility of taxing Americans without Congress. Obama declared in his State of the Union address that Congress needed to act to close the loopholes in taxes among corporations. So perhaps he will ask Congress to pass corporate tax hikes, and, when Congress inevitably says no, Obama may simply turn to the IRS to implement the taxation. The IRS already has a track record of helping him politically – Lois Lerner was no “lone wolf.”

Since there isn’t enough revenue to pay for Obama’s $4 trillion boondoggle budget, he can claim now is the time to act; now is the time to raise taxes on those who need to “pay their fair share.”

Progressives in general erroneously claim America’s debt problem is a lack of revenue, while they continue to spend ever more money on failed programs and policies. A recentCongressional Budget Office report shows that “compared to historical averages, from 1965 to 2014, spending is rising much faster than revenues.” Not that it takes a CBO report to see that the debt is growing.

It so happens the greatest increase in spending and debt has occurred during Obama’s administration. Further, the gap between spending and revenue is projected to widen, therefore increasing our debt.

Clearly, Obama doesn’t believe we have a problem with spending or debt, even though during his six years in office the national debt has risen nearly $8 trillion to a whopping $18.1 trillion.

With Obama’s executive actions on immigration and his potential maneuver on raising taxes, the question to ponder is when will he stop? The tragic reality is he likely won’t. The only limit on his power he seems to acknowledge is whatever he deems unnecessary.

OPINION IN BRIEF

Augustine of Hippo (354-430): “Put no faith in salvation through the political order.”

Columnist Dennis Prager: “Appeasers hate those who confront evil. Given that this president is the least likely of any president in American history to confront evil – or even identify it – while Benjamin Netanyahu is particularly vocal and eloquent about both identifying and confronting evil, it is inevitable that the former will resent the latter. … [T]hose who refused to characterize the Soviet Union as evil loathed Ronald Reagan and other anti-communists for doing so; and those who objected to the ‘Axis of Evil’ label placed on North Korea, Iran, and Iraq loathed George W. Bush and his supporters. The loathing of Benjamin Netanyahu is simply the latest example of the rule that those who will not confront evil will instead confront those who do. (It’s much safer, after all.) Since the end of World War II, there has been a name for the people who refuse to confront evil and who resent those who do: leftists.”

Columnist Ed Feulner: “This is no time to make more concessions. It’s a time to stand up against Iran’s nuclear program, which threatens not only the security of the Middle East, but the U.S. as well. As the 2015 Index of Military Strength shows, Iran’s missile threat is growing at an alarming rate. Its longest-range current missile can reach as far west as Egypt, and as far east as China – and it’s working to go much farther. ‘Iran could develop and test an ICBM capable of reaching the United States by 2015,’ the Pentagon reports. As in this year. It’s crucial that we stand with Israel, a staunch ally fighting on the front lines, at this critical time. The safety of millions depends on us doing the right thing. Will we?”

A.G. nominee to advance today -   The Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to endorse today the confirmation of President nObama’s nominee to replace Eric Holder as attorney general. Former U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch is likely to receive some bipartisan support from the committee, but her embrace of nObama’s executive amnesty for illegal immigrants will set up a contentious vote in the full Senate.  -Fox News

HOUSE GOP TO CHALLENGE ADMINISTRATION CLAIMS ON nOBAMACARE BACKUP   PLAN
Health Secretary Sylvia Matthews Burwell will face tough questions today about her claim that the administration has no plan to deal with a federal lawsuit that could eviscerate the nObamaCare. In a letter earlier this week, Burwell said her agency had no backup plan if the Supreme Court strikes down nObamaCare subsidies in states that did not establish exchanges. But according to a preview provided to Fox News by House Republicans, Rep. Joe Pitts, R-Pa., chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee’s subcommittee on health, has reason to believe those claims may not be true.  -Fox News

Sasse offers plan to use ‘Cobra’ coverage -   “First, in the event that the court strikes down the subsidies as illegal, Congress must be prepared to offer immediate, targeted protection to those hurt by this administration’s reckless disregard for the rule of law. nObamaCare took these patients hostage. Conservatives have a duty to save them. So within a week I will introduce legislation that uses the 1985 ‘Cobra’ law as a temporary model to protect those harmed by nObamaCare…Second, Republicans need to unify around a specific set of constructive, longer-term solutions, and then turn the 2016 presidential election into a referendum on two competing visions of health care. Simply opposing nObamaCare isn’t enough. Republicans must address this country’s health-care crises, cost and uninsurance, both of which have been exacerbated chiefly by excessive federal meddling.” --Sen.  HIGH DRAMA AS nOBAMA INTERNET REGS DEBUT
Fox News: “The Federal Communications Commission is driving toward a landmark vote Thursday on a sweeping plan that critics warn would impose a new era of regulation for how Americans use and do business on the Internet, even as eleventh-hour appeals inject added drama behind the scenes. The so-called net neutrality proposal has been the subject of fierce debate, in part because the 332-page plan is being kept from public eyes. President nObama’s vocal push for aggressive Internet rules also has raised questions on Capitol Hill over undue influence by the White House -- but House Republicans who had planned a hearing on that very subject said Wednesday they would postpone after Chairman Tom Wheeler allegedly refused to testify.”  -Fox News

IMF Seeks to Bypass U.S. Veto in Bid to Empower Self, Tyrants
IMF Seeks to Bypass U.S. Veto in Bid to Empower Self, Tyrants
(Alex Newman) - Right now, the International Monetary Fund is trying to forward controversial “reforms,” changes that are strongly supported by the nObama administration and most IMF member regimes, that would massively expand the institution’s power and the burden it imposes on taxpayers...particularly American taxpayers — by doubling IMF resources. The scheme would also diminish U.S. influence in IMF decisions while boosting the voice of the communist dictatorship ruling mainland China, Putin’s Kremlin, the pro-Castro Brazilian government, and various other regimes that the UN refers to as “emerging markets.” As it stands, however, the U.S. government has veto power because it controls more than 15 percent of the voting shares, and 85 percent approval is required to adopt the reforms. And the International Monetary Fund is facing a U.S. Congress that has refused to do its bidding — so far at least.       http://www.thenewamerican.com/economy/item/20223-imf-seeks-to-bypass-u-s-veto-in-bid-to-empower-self-tyrants?utm_source=Newsletter&utm_campaign=4d136d5238-The_Editors_Top_Picks_3_12_143_12_2014&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_8ca494f2d2-4d136d5238-289778381

DHS Fails to Cite Any Law Authorizing nObama to Give SS Numbers
(Lauretta Brown) - When asked to do so at a Thursday press briefing, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson failed to cite any law that authorized President Barack nObama to give Social Security Numbers to illegal aliens...CNSNews.com asked Johnson: “A federal court in Texas v. United States has said giving an illegal alien a Social Security Number is not an act of prosecutorial discretion. What specific law gives the president the authority to give a Social Security Number to a foreign national in the country illegally?” Rather than answer the question, Johnson instead noted that the administration has appealed the court’s injunction against the administration’s unilateral action on immigration.       http://cnsnews.com/news/article/lauretta-brown/dhs-secretary-fails-cite-any-law-authorizing-obama-give-social-security

Netanyahu Knows A Secret, About What nObama Is Doing With Iran
(rickwells.us) - Information revealed by an aid travelling with Prime Minister Netanyahu upon his arrival in the United States is shedding light on what may be the actual reason upturned nObama nose seemed excessively bent out of shape by the Israeli Prime Minister’s visit...It seems nObama’s got a secret. He’s “negotiating” a bad deal with his BFF pen pals in Tehran, and he doesn’t want Netanyahu to mess things up for him by letting the word slip out to Congress. The “Times of Israel” reported that a senior Israeli official traveling with the Israeli Prime Minister confirmed that Netanyahu will be revealing, to a limited degree, information about a nuclear deal which is yet unknown to the American lawmakers in his Tuesday speech.       http://www.rickwells.us/netanyahu-knows-a-secret-its-about-what-obama-is-doing-with-iran-and-hes-going-to-tell-congress/

Hatred as an Article of Faith
(Mark Durie) - The Islamic State sent me a letter this week, in the form of a short film produced by ISIS's Al-Hayat Media centre. This was not addressed to me personally, but to all Christians everywhere. Its title was A Message Signed with BLOOD to the Nation of the Cross...This was a video of the ritual slaughter of the 21 Egyptian Christians. Their blood flowing in the ocean waves was the 'signature' at the end of the video. As I write this it is Ash Wednesday. This is the start of forty days of Lent, a period of fasting and contemplation for Christians all over the world. For many centuries it has been a custom of Christians to receive a mark of the cross in ash upon the forehead as a sign of repentance. As I received this mark of the cross today I was thinking of the 21 Egyptian Christian martyrs. Copts permanently bear the sign of the cross, tattooed on their wrists, as a sign that they will refuse to renounce their beliefs.       http://www.meforum.org/5060/hatred-as-an-article-of-faith

Texas Report Shows Terrorists, Cartels Using Mexican Border
(rickwells.us) - The Texas Department of Public Safety has no reason to sugar-coat the border situation for the Marxists in the White House. As a source for the real situation on the border...we can choose to either believe a report by those who are engaged on their own soil in the fight against foreign invaders or the empty proclamations of the distant regime which is enabling it. A recently leaked report headed Border Surge Report and marked Unclassified/Law Enforcement Sensitive tells the story. The report notes successes that Texas has seen as a result of their increased State-funded operations which fill the vacuum left as a result of DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson’s refusal to allow effective federal border security operations. The report, which reveals much about the border situation, recommends as the “Foremost Priority” the security of the Texas-Mexico border, zone by zone, beginning with the areas of greatest cartel traffic. They recommend a mixture of technology and personnel to accomplish the objective.       http://www.rickwells.us/texas-report-shows-terrorists-cartels-and-gangs-using-mexican-border-as-a-high-speed-super-highway-into-u-s/

Trey Gowdy Introduces States’ Rights, Immigration Enforcement Bill
(rickwells.us) - Rep Trey Gowdy (R-SC) has a solution for the current problem America faces with a lawless “president” who bends the law and rewrites it to his own political ends, at least to the extent that White House criminality is applied in the circumvention of immigration law...He’s authored a bill that contains specific language which prevents the very methods through which the law is currently being violated by the Obama regime. It also allows states the rights which should already be theirs under the Constitution, to defend their own sovereignty and enforce immigration law in the absence of or as a supplement to federal enforcement. The bill, “The Michael Davis, Jr. in Honor of State and Local Law Enforcement Act,” is named after the brave Placer County California Sheriff Deputy Michael Davis, Jr, who was killed in October of last year by a twice deported illegal alien who had returned across the wide-open southern border with Mexico. Oddly, Deputy Davis’ father was a police officer who was also killed in the line of duty, on the same date, exactly 26 years before.       http://www.rickwells.us/trey-gowdy-introduces-states-rights-undo-obama-destruction-and-liberal-idiocy-immigration-enforcement-bill/

Arabs: Why is nObama Siding with Supporters of Terrorism?
(Khaled Abu Toameh) - Many Arabs and Muslims see the meeting between nObama and Qatar's al-Thani as a gift to Qatar for its continued support of Islamic radical groups across the Middle East, including Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon and the Gaza Strip...On the eve of nObama's meeting, Egyptian sources revealed that Qatar was providing weapons and ammunition to members of the Islamic State in Libya. The sources said that 35 Qatari aircraft were involved in transferring munitions. Arab political analysts are also concerned about nObama's ongoing attempts to appease Iran, which continues to expand its presence in Arab countries such as Yemen, Iraq and Lebanon -- as well as in Syria, where it is deeply involved in backing Hezbollah and operating along the border with Israel. A Reuters report revealed that Iran also has hundreds of advisors in Iraq.       http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/5269/terrorism-supporters-Obama

Democrat Senator Saw The Incriminating Question Coming
(rickwells.us) - It seems awfully obvious. The word has gone out among Democrats to use the decision by Judge Hanen to issue an injunction against the lawbreaking of their party and its top leadership as protective cover to hide behind and avoid answering even the most simple questions...The horrific condition of what still is referred to as our government, which is bordering on our overlords, is something that must be addressed. The current situation, in which the supposed representatives of the people have become nothing more than pillaging parasites, pilfering and exploiting their way to personal enrichment and power at the expense of the nation, cannot continue. The Democrats know what they are doing is illegal, in violation of the Constitution and a violation of their oaths of office, otherwise they wouldn’t be trying to conceal their actions. Were they private citizens, the common variety of white collar criminal, they would have already been targeted by the FBI for RICO violations.  Documents: Relationship between bin Laden, al-Qaeda and Iran
(shoebat.com) - In a stunning development, some of the documents recovered from Osama bin Laden’s compound by Navy SEALS were introduced by federal prosecutors as evidence in the trial of a terrorism suspect...The documents reveal and confirm an actual working relationship between Iran and al-Qaeda. That same memo reveals that Abu Anas al-Libi, a terrorist wanted in connection with the 1998 Kenya / Tanzania bombings who was apprehended by U.S. officials in Libya in 2013, traveled to Pakistan from Iran. While the documents introduced into evidence by the prosecutors don’t indicate collaboration between al-Qaeda and Iran relative to the 9/11 attacks, this new development does indeed bolster the case that there was a relationship.       http://shoebat.com/2015/02/27/explosive-revelation-documents-show-working-relationship-between-osama-bin-laden-al-qaeda-and-iran/

Republicans Who Defied backstabber Boehner to Defund nObama
(conservativetribune.com) - Barack nObama is about to have a very bad day. Over 50 House Republicans just voted to KILL the bill to fund nObama’s DHS because his amnesty plan is illegal and they refuse to sign their names to his unconstitutional acts...This is the stand off we’ve been waiting for. The GOP controls the House AND the Senate, so the idea they should immediately cave and refuse to even negotiate with the president is not only hideous strategy, but is also a rejection of the original purpose of the three branches. Here are the 52 congressmen and congresswomen who have defied both backstabber Boehner and nObama by doing their jobs:       http://conservativetribune.com/house-defies-dhs/?utm_source=feedblitz&utm_medium=FeedBlitzEmail&utm_content=936184&utm_campaign=0
Growing Up in California
Burt Prelutsky

(burtprelutsky.com) - Shortly after I turned six, my family left Chicago and moved to L.A. Because even at that age, the smell of wet woolens hanging in the kindergarten cloakroom was already a stench I found as unappealing as my mother’s Friday night special, barley soup, I was happy to move to the land of eternal sunshine.

In those days, California was the state that was to be the model for America’s future. Its schools were the best, industry was booming, the San Joaquin Valley produced most of the nation’s fruits and vegetables, Hollywood was still a magnet for the most talented people in the world and Republicans were winning most of the statewide elections.

Over the decades, all of that changed, but it is still a template for much of the nation. The problem now is that the schools are indoctrination centers for the Left; there is no industry; thanks to the environmentalists, the San Joaquin Valley is now the San Joaquin Desert because the water has been cut off from the farmers for the sake of a two-inch inedible fish known as the delta smelt; Hollywood has become a magnet for zombies spewing left-wing talking points; and no Republican can even come close to winning a statewide election.

On top of all that, we now have about 40 million people, many of them here illegally, tying up traffic, overcrowding schools and jails, and pushing up tax rates.

The state legislators, 70% of whom are Democrats, naturally believe that feeding and clothing illegal aliens is more important than jailing criminals and has adopted the fishing technique known as catch-and-release. Only instead of releasing fish too small to catch legally, they’re releasing car thieves, drug dealers and child molesters, by simply declaring certain felonies to be misdemeanors.

In their endless search for ways to decrease the prison population, one fully expects that the next logical step will be to simply decriminalize bank robberies, rapes and homicides.

     • When you see how casually nObama and Hanoi Kerry are carrying on negotiations with Iran, refusing to even threaten increased sanctions as a means to apply pressure, one might assume they don’t see any reason to fear a nuclear Islamic theocracy. Pushed for an explanation, they might argue that nuclear bombs have been with us for a long time and so far nobody has dropped one in anger. And when you realize that among the nations that have nuclear bombs – the U.S., the U.K., Russia, France, China, India, Pakistan, Israel and North Korea – four are vile and one, North Korea, is pathological, they might seem to have a point.

However, the reason that none of the nine, however sorely tempted, has done so is out of fear. No matter how Kim Jong-un may feel about South Korea, he’s not about to drop the bomb because he doesn’t want to risk having one dropped on his head. In diplomatic circles, it’s called the nuclear deterrent.

But Iran is a whole different can of worms. Its leaders are as crazy as Kim Jong-un, but it’s a different sort of crazy. Kim Jong-un wants to continue living, if only to keep having Dennis Rodman over to talk basketball. But as we’ve seen after decades of suicide bombings, including 9/11, Islam is not a religion whose practitioners place a great deal of value on life -- their own or anyone else’s.

Perhaps because nObama and Hanoi Kerry never had reason to learn that you don’t bring a knife to a gun fight, they don’t understand that you never let the guy who doesn’t mind dying for his religion, get his hands on a nuclear bomb. As policy, the rule in such a case is that you nuke him first and send a condolence card later.

     • Because Scott Walker not only stood up to the unions in Wisconsin, but has sprinted to the lead in a great many polls, the Democrats have already begun attacking him. But if the attacks are going to gain any traction with most Americans, they’ll have to do better than point out, as they recently did, that he dropped out of Marquette University before graduating and that his worst subject was French. For some of us, those are two additional reasons to vote for the guy.

     • Sometimes even I am taken aback at the stupidity of liberals. For instance, how is it that so many of them continue to promote socialism as a way of life? I mean, if it was merely a theory, I can see how it might appeal to some. However, we have not only seen how it inevitably morphs into communism, but we have seen the ugly results in the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, Cambodia and Cuba. Even in places that started out with socialism, such as China and Israel, the leaders eventually saw the error of their ways and converted to capitalism.

But, then, leftists simply aren’t very bright. Otherwise, they would have asked themselves just how was it possible to provide health care for 40 million uninsured Americans and still manage to save the average family $2,500.

     • Because I take baseball more seriously than I take a great many other things, I was disgusted when I found out that the Little League baseball team from Chicago had cheated its way to the national title by using out of the district ringers on the team. Furthermore, the fact that the team was named after the great and courageous Jackie Robinson made it even more shameful.

But, as often happens when politicians and the media get involved with any story, it only got worse. I was hearing TV news people and Chicago’s Mayor Rahm Emanuel spinning the story as only they can. The conclusion they came to was that the coaches should have been punished, but it was wrong to take the title away from the kids because they had done nothing wrong.

Of course they had. They had stolen the thrill of honest victory from the teams they had defeated. I can assure you that every single kid was aware of the fact there were players on their team who had no business being there. They knew they had cheated in order to win, and they were just fine with it.

Then, compounding the problem, instead of being chastised for cheating, the grown-ups, including their parents, essentially told them that their only mistake was getting caught. But, then, that’s the same message that San Francisco Giants fans sent Barry Bonds when they cheered him for breaking home records they knew were tainted, and just as fans of the Cubs, Cardinals and Yankees, did when they rooted for Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire and Alex Rodriguez.

     • Finally, when I heard that without warning, Jon Stewart suddenly announced he was leaving his show, my initial thought was that the man who had been born Jonathan Leibowitz had belatedly come to his senses, and decided that he could no longer, in good conscience, spend his life ridiculing conservatives.

But after thinking about it, I realized that he would be leaving his show at Comedy Central at just about the same time that Brian Williams would be ending his six month suspension at NBC. Wouldn’t it make sense that Williams, who regards himself as a born comedian, and Stewart, who takes himself very seriously as a political pundit, would simply swap jobs?

backstabber Boehner Bids for Time in Immigration Fight With   nObama
There are only hours left until the clock strikes midnight and the Department of Homeland Security runs out of funding. While Senate Majority Leader Mitch McCon-nell seemingly kissed up to the filibustering Democrat minority, passing a clean DHS funding bill that gives the department money to fund Barack nObama's immigration executive actions, House Speaker backstabber John Boehner is not so compromising. When a reporter asked Thursday if backstabber Boehner would propose a clean DHS funding bill, he blew defiant kisses in reply. At the same press conference, backstabber Boehner said, "We passed a bill to fund the department six weeks ago. Six weeks ago! It's time for the Senate to act. How many times do I have to say it?" So as a counteroffer, backstabber Boehner introduced a continuing resolution that would simply fund DHS for three weeks. While it buys the GOP more time, a defiant president waits at the end of the legislative process. nObama recently said if congressional Republicans "want to have a vote on whether what I'm doing is legal or not, they can have that vote. I will veto that vote." Lawmakers, he says, don't have the power to make laws.  -The Patriot Post

 Here Comes 'Net Neutrality'
As expected, the Federal Communications Commission on Thursday approved so-called net neutrality rules. Fox News reports, "[T]he rules, more broadly, would put the Internet in the same regulatory camp as the telephone by classifying it like a public utility, meaning providers like Comcast or Verizon would have to act in the 'public interest' when providing [an Internet] connection to your home or phone. Republican Commissioner Ajit Pai, who delivered some of the most scathing criticism of the plan Thursday, warned the policy represents a 'monumental shift' to 'government control of the Internet.'" Pai also criticized FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler for his secrecy and the length of the "332-page Internet regulation plan." According to FCC counsel Gigi Sohn, however, only eight of those pages contain actual regulation -- the rest is supporting documentation. Clearly this is not a black-and-white subject, and the jury is still out on whether the FCC's ruling will do more good than harm, but that's mostly because it doesn't go to the crux of the problem, which is lack of competition. The FCC's action won't create more of it. Indeed, it's not at all clear it will usher in a neutral net. What is clear, however, is that the greatest invention since Gutenberg's printing press will now be regulated by a bureaucracy that still struggles to build a functioning website.  And the GOP Presidential Primaries Begin
It's CPAC time, baby! Yesterday, the Republican Party's presidential hopefuls addressed the 10,000 grassroots conservatives gathered at the Conservative Political Action Conference, hoping to drum up support in what The Wall Street Journal calls one of the most populated primary contests in recent history. After eight years of Barack nObama, the GOP needs to decide how the party will grow. Some highlights: Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker told the audience, "In America we celebrate our independence from the government, not our dependence on it." Sen. Ted Cruz warned establishment Republicans are "cutting a deal" with the Left on Immigration. Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal blasted the constitution-breaking president, saying, "It is time for our Republican leaders in Congress to grow a spine" to confront him. It's all tough talk aimed at tickling the ears of the defenders of Liberty who live far-removed from the Beltway. But in the end, when the temporary tattoos wash away, the NRA rifle is raffled off and everybody goes home, what matters is how these politicians did or did not defend Liberty in the positions they now occupy.  Walker Doesn't Care What the Media Thinks
In an op-ed for USA Today, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker responded indirectly to the grilling he received over Rudy Giuliani's recent comments about Barack nObama's patriotism. "Americans believe our nation is facing some substantial challenges," Walker wrote. "Government spending is out of control. Terrorists seek to destroy our way of life. Our economic recovery has been slow. Our borders aren't secure. The federal government has usurped powers that rightly belong to our states." In other words, these issues are the serious ones. He concluded, "There has been much discussion about a media double standard where Republicans are covered differently than Democrats, asked to weigh in on issues the Democrats don't face. As a result, when we refuse to take the media's bait, we suffer. I felt it this week when I was asked to weigh in on what other people said and did and what others' beliefs are. If you are looking for answers to those questions, ask those people. I will always choose to focus on what matters to the American people, not what matters to the media." That approach is just one reason why Ronald Reagan was so successful.   -The Patriot Post

Emily Miller Only One of 16 DC Residents Okayed for a Gun Permit   Journalist Emily Miller's journey to navigate the snarls of the District of Columbia's gun laws began in 2011, when she inadvertently came face-to-face with a criminal while armed with only her cell phone. Her quest for a handgun in the nation's most anti-gun city is nearing its conclusion as she was recently approved for a permit to carry in the city. But even after the Heller decision, the process is insurmountably high for citizens to exercise their right to bear arms because citizens have to demonstrate they have a reason (the Constitution evidently isn't sufficient) to convince the police to okay their firearm permit. "I got the police reports from two different threats against me, as well as an FBI warning that a terror group is targeting journalists," Miller wrote. "I turned in my application at the end of November. … I didn't hear anything until early February. … Keep in mind, any American can apply for a D.C. gun permit. But so far, only 76 have done so. Thirty-one were denied. Five cancelled their own applications. And 16 were approved." This is what the Second Amendment looks like under a mayor who declared she hates guns. While she swore to "protect the Constitution and what the courts say," she promises to do the opposite: "I will do it in the most restrictive way as possible."   -The Patriot Post

Hilly Caught Abusing Taxpayer Dollars in Massive Act of Corruption
(conservativetribune.com) - Hilly Clinton may have just been caught with her hand in the cookie jar. Watchdog organizations are raising red flags over lucrative deals that Bill Clinton made while his wife Hilly was secretary of state...There is strong evidence that the former president made significant money from speaking appearances and donations while Hilly used her influence to “green light” the engagements. Under an ethics agreement that the Clintons made with the nObama administration, certain paid speeches made by former President Clinton had to be reviewed to ensure that there was no conflict of interest. Without exception, however, those speaking engagements were immediately approved by Hilly’s State Department without a second glance.       http://conservativetribune.com/hillary-massive-corruption-2/?utm_source=feedblitz&utm_medium=FeedBlitzEmail&utm_content=936184&utm_campaign=0

Supreme Court ruling could increase nObamacare premiums 700%
( Robert King) - If the government loses in a major nObamacare challenge before the Supreme Court, it will result in premium increases of up to 700 percent for nearly 8 million people, a new analysis claims...The analysis from think tank Avalere Health was released Thursday as the nObama administration continues to take heat from Congress for having no backup plan in case the Supreme Court ruling in King v. Burwell doesn't go their way. Oral arguments are set to start on Wednesday for the case, which has the potential to cripple the healthcare law. The case challenges the government's authority to dole out subsidies to the 37 states with federal-run exchanges. Plaintiffs say the Affordable Care Act specifically only allows for states that set up their own exchanges to receive subsidies, while the government says the plaintiffs are misinterpreting the law.       http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/court-ruling-could-raise-obamacare-costs-700/article/2560828

On The Kurdish Front Line In The Fight Against ISIS
(Journeyman Picture) - In the disputed area on the edges of IS-controlled territory are the last outposts of Kurdish resistance to IS. With incredible access this report meets the hardened fighters and embittered refugees among them...Since the start of the Syrian war, nearly 13.6 million people have been displaced, crossing bridges and passing through checkpoints at great peril to escape the violence. Mosul is one of the towns to recently fall under IS control. "IS controls everyone's daily routine. Everything you hear about them is true", says a man who fled the town. He has made it to Erbil, recently recaptured by Kurd forces, who are waging a bloody war with Islamic State to protect their land.  An Ottoman Relic—and Turkish Ambitions in Syria—are Re-laid to Rest
(Burak Bekdil) - Turkey's dramatic miscalculation over Syria is pushing it into weird acts. The latest was the forced relocation of a pre-Ottoman Turkish commander's tomb from its spot in Syria to another spot in Syria, this time a stone's throw away from the Turkish border...Relocating the tomb seems to have been prompted by the fear of an attack from radical Islamists -- who, ironically, Turkey wanted discreetly to support. Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who in 2001 authored the 600-page book, "Strategic Depth," hoped at the start of the Arab Spring, when he served as Foreign Minister, that a belt of (Sunni) Muslim Brotherhood-ruled regimes would proliferate in Syria, Egypt, Tunisia, Lebanon and Libya, and be subservient to an emerging Turkish empire. To start with Syria, therefore, the Nusayri strongman of the country, President Bashar al-Assad, had to go.       http://www.meforum.org/5061/turkish-relics

Allen West: Who I Am Backing For President
(AllenBWest.com) - I had to tell one interviewer that I don’t cheerlead any person but rather rally to my country. As well it’s far too early to start fawning over any one person. But what I told most interviewers was that I am not focused on the individual but rather I am looking through a certain prism...I want find the person who can be seated in a room with very dangerous dictators, despots, autocrats, and theocrats and stare them down. I’m looking for that leader who can sit across from Vladimir Putin and non-verbally send a message. I’m looking for the leader that can send a message of strength, exceptionalism, and resolve without uttering a word — a commanding presence.       http://libertyalliance.com/allen-west-who-i-am-backing-for-president/#

Education Depart Floods Schools With New Rules And Regulations
(LibertyUnyielding.com) -Recently, a task force of college presidents chronicled massive regulatory overreaching by the U.S. Department of Education, which, on a daily basis, floods America’s schools with new rules and obligations...that Congress never intended. Most of these rules are not even listed in the Code of Federal Regulations, and have never gone through the formal rulemaking process, much less been adequately vetted. “The Report of the Task Force on Federal Regulation of Higher Education: Recalibrating Regulation of Colleges and Universities” correctly notes that:       http://libertyalliance.com/education-department-floods-schools-with-new-rules-and-regulations/

Charting nObama’s Crackdown on National Security Leaks
(Cora Currier) - Despite promises to strengthen protections for whistleblowers, the nObama administration has launched an aggressive crackdown on government employees who have leaked national security information to the press...With charges filed against NSA leaker Edward Snowden this June, the administration has brought a total of seven cases under the Espionage Act, which dates from World War I and criminalizes disclosing information “relating to the national defense.” Prior to the current administration, there had been only three known casesresulting in indictments in which the Espionage Act was used to prosecute government officials for leaks. The administration has also targeted journalists. In May, it was revealed that the Department of Justice had secretly seized AP reporters’ phone recordswhile investigating a potential CIA leak, and targeteda Fox News reporter as part of a criminal leak case (outlined below). No journalist  has been chargedwith a crime. But the news prompted an outcry that nObama’s hard line on leaks could have a "chilling effect" on investigative reporting that depends on inside sources. (In response, the Justice Department issued new guidelines limiting when journalists’ records can be sought.)       http://www.propublica.org/special/sealing-loose-lips-charting-obamas-crackdown-on-national-security-leaks
Remembering Malcolm X Fifty Years Later
Daniel Pipes

(danielpipes.org/blog) - On this date fifty years ago, the man best known as Malcolm X was killed by a Nation of Islam (NoI) hit squad while speaking on in Harlem, New York.

Born Malcolm Little in Omaha on May 19, 1925, to a Baptist minister father and West Indian mother, both politically involved, he lived on the streets of various eastern U.S. cities until he was jailed in February 1946, where, a year later, he began his self-education program. He first learned about the NoI from his brother in about April 1948 and joined it later that year. Three weeks after his release from jail in 1952, he met Elijah Muhammad, the NoI leader, and commemorated his new identity by throwing off his "slave name" in favor of Malcolm X.

From 1953 on, he devoted himself full time to building the Nation. In an eye-opening experience, he traveled to the Middle East in 1959, after which he began to adopt normative Islamic practices and become more critical of NoI, eventually changing his name to El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz and then breaking with the NoI in March 1964, when he started a new movement, the Muslim Mosque, Inc. He went on the hajj to Mecca a month later, followed by other Middle Eastern and African travels. Outraged by what he perceived as Malcolm X's treachery, Elijah Muhammad had him murdered on February 21, 1965, apparently under the supervision of Louis Farrakhan. Were he still alive, Malcolm X would be approaching his 90th birthday.

http://www.danielpipes.org/pics/new/large/1372.jpg" border="0" />

A 1999 postage stamps in his honor symbolizes the establishment's acceptance of Malcolm X (1925-65).

What to make of the Malcolm X legacy on this 50th anniversary? He was a quick study, a natural politician, and a powerful orator, as well as a highly original political figure, He played a major role both in the large-scale conversion of African-Americans to Islam in both its NoI and normative variants (his Autobiography continues to be cited as a major inspiration for becoming Muslim), and to the development of black nationalism, a milder form of his preferred solution that blacks withdraw from the United States and form their own country.

His presence remains alive; and thanks to Spike Lee's movie about him, a U.S. postal stamp in his honor, and other signs of mainstream acceptance, he has become a somewhat anodyne figure. Here's how NBC News characterized him today, on the anniversary: "By the time he died, the Muslim leader had moderated his militant message of black separatism and pride but was still very much a passionate advocate of black unity, self-respect and self-reliance."

http://www.danielpipes.org/pics/new/large/3076.jpg" border="0" />
Spike Lee's movie built the Malcolm X myth.

But Malcolm X was anything but mainstream and the passage of a half century should not soften attitudes toward him. To the end, he remained a radical, polarizing, bigoted figure, Martin Luther King's evil Doppelgänger. To support this description, recall two notorious statements. The first dates from Dec. 1, 1963, shortly after the assassination of John F. Kennedy, when Malcolm X responded with the comment that, "Being an old farm boy myself, chickens coming home to roost never did make me sad; they've always made me glad."

The second came in the course of a meeting with the Ku Klux Klan (itself a insight into his extremism) intended to win white racist support for the NoI black separatism project. According to a FBI report, Malcolm X assured the Klansmen that Jews were behind the integration movement they both despised. Joshua Muravchik concludes from this incident that Malcolm X "was a vociferous anti-Semite in both public and in private."

Malcolm X should accurately be remembered as the extremist he was. (February 21, 2015)

GOP Rends Over Immigration Fight

Congressional Republicans tried to defund Barack Obama’s unconstitutional immigration actions through a bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security, but instead they suffered a political defeat that leaves the party uncertainly plotting the next move. As the Friday deadline loomed, Republicans taking a hard line on the immigration fight helped defeat House Speaker John Boehner’s bill to fund the department for three weeks. It was Nancy Pelosi who saved the night, telling Democrats to support a bill funding DHS for a meager seven days. Now, there are rumblings that some Republicans will try to force Boehner from his speaker position. And House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy suggests the Senate should simply press the red button anddeploy the nuclear option. That’s the wrong answer. A Wall Street Journal editorial concludes, “Republicans need to do some soul searching about the purpose of a congressional majority, including whether they even want it. If they really think Mr. Boehner is the problem, then find someone else to do his thankless job. If not, then start to impose some order and discipline and advance the conservative cause rather than self-defeating rebellion.” This weekend showed Republicans have leadership issues, which Obama continues to exploit. More…

Left Changes Tone as Netanyahu Arrives in Washington

Just a few weeks ago, the White House threatened there would be consequences for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Congress. This Sunday, Netanyahu touched down in Washington to talk about the U.S.’s deal with Iran, and everybody has put on their politician smiles. Secretary of State John Kerry essentially denied the Obama administration was plotting to undermine both the event and Netanyahu’s administration. “The prime minister is welcome in the United States at any time,” Kerry told ABC. “We have an unparalleled close security relationship with Israel, and we will continue to. I talk to the prime minister regularly, including yesterday. We don’t want to see this turned into some great political football. Obviously, it was odd, if not unique, that we learned of it from the speaker of the House and that an administration was not included in this process. But the administration is not seeking to politicize this.” Politicize this? Democrat legislators have issued sound bite after sound bite saying Netanyahu doesn’t speak for them, or that they’ll boycott the speech. And that’s not to mention Obama’s political shenanigans. No, the Left has already succeeded in making a foreign policy speech by one of America’s closest allies into a partisan brouhaha. More…

Lerner’s Email Cover-Up ‘Potential Criminal Activity’

Timothy Camus, Treasury deputy inspector general, told the House Oversight Committee “there is potential criminal activity” in how the IRS refused to give Congress Lois Lerner’s emails when it was investigating the agency’s political targeting of conservative groups. The Daily Caller reports, “Treasury Department inspectors general testified Thursday that they cannot provide any relevant information related to their search for Lois Lerner’s missing emails. But at least three bits of information came out: the investigation is on hold over software issues, there is potential criminal wrongdoing, and nobody at the IRS even asked for Lerner’s backup email tapes from the people in New Martinsville, West Virginia, who had them.” The IRS told Congress Lerner’s emails were destroyed and irretrievable. But the IG got the emails after two weeks of searching, and that may warrant a criminal investigation. It’s perhaps confirmed one thing that Americans have long suspected, though: The IRS is run by criminals. Oh, and by the way, one of Lerner’s emails to a colleague was this gem: “No one will believe your hard drive and mine crashed within a week.” No, no one will believe that. More…

Durbin: Constitution Was ‘Fatally Flawed’

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) defended Barack Obama’s executive amnesty in the Senate by declaring Obama was just doing what was necessary to save the Constitution from itself. “Before any of us can serve in the United States Senate, we stand in the well of the Senate chamber and publicly take an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States,” Durbin said. “I know we all take that seriously, as we should.” (Pause for laughter.) He continued, “This is not just another government document. It is really the inspiration of this government and it still governs our actions to this day. Yet, if we view this document with honesty, we know that it was fatally flawed from the start. It got the issue of slavery wrong, in addition to some other issues. It got the issue of race wrong. And since the days when the document was drafted and signed, we have struggled as a nation to right that wrong. It has taken a long, long time.” There’s no question that the Constitution, as a human document, has its flaws. That’s why our Founders set up an amendment process. But Durbin and his fellow Democrats think they are more enlightened than the Founders and, therefore, can do whatever they want with the Constitution – abandoning the legitimate amendment process altogether. And then they have the gall to claim they take theiroaths seriously.

Who Vets Fox News ‘Experts’?

STUPID, particularly when it comes to the Second Amendment, is almost exclusive to the Left, but occasionally it slips under the wire on the Right. That is certainly the case with this analysis from Tucker Carlson’s Fox News “2A expert” Regis Giles. Commenting on the absurd ATF ban of 5.56 M855 AR-15 rifle cartridges, Giles' remarks were so profoundly ignorant that FNC should have preceded her segment with one of their ubiquitous “FOX NEWS ALERT!” graphics.

According to Giles, “To say that this [5.56 M855 round] is going to pierce through the armor of cops is ridiculous because it’s a tiny bullet like this big [demonstrating the size with her fingers]. And to say that the cop’s Kevlar isn’t tough enough to handle that ammunition is ridiculous. And, like the FBI said, no one has used this in a handgun to shoot a cop.”

Who vets Fox News guests? Giles must have been smoking “green tips.”

Now, for the record, according to the ATF and FBI, there IS NO RECORD of a police officer being murdered with a 5.56 M855 round – and, of course, the ATF ammo ban really has nothing to do with “protecting police” and everything to do with Obama’s incremental encroachment on the Second Amendment. But come on Carlson – giving a platform to Giles did nothing to help 2A rights.

Hillary Lied, Four Americans Died

2015-03-02-b606b05d.jpg

Judicial Watch confirmed Thursday what many Americans already knew: Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s attempt to blame the attacks in Benghazi on an “offensive video” was abald-faced lie. As the result of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the State Department, Judicial Watch obtained a series of critical emails that not only reveal State Department officials knew immediately the American compound in Benghazi was under attack but that the attack was perpetrated by assailants tied to a terrorist group. And despite the infamous exasperated question from the Democrats' likely presidential nominee, the truth doesmake a big difference at this point.

The first email was sent Sept. 11, 2012, at 4:07 p.m. It was forwarded by former Clinton Special Assistant Maria Sand to Clinton’s former Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills, former Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Jacob Sullivan, former Executive Assistant Joseph McManus, and a host of other Special Assistants in Clinton’s office. It read as follows:

“The Regional Security Officer reports the diplomatic mission is under attack. Tripoli reports approximately 20 armed people fired shots; explosions have been heard as well. Ambassador Stevens, who is currently in Benghazi, and four COM [Chief of Mission] personnel are in the compound safe haven. The 17th of February militia is providing security support.”

Another email arrived at 4:38 p.m. It was sent by the former director of the Diplomatic Security Service, Scott Bultrowicz, who was fired following the report issued by the Advisory Review Board (ARB) citing “systematic failures and leadership and management deficiencies at senior levels within two bureaus of the State Department” responsible for security in Benghazi. That would be the same ARB that refused to interview Hillary Clinton as part of its investigation. State Department Foreign Officer Lawrence Randolph forwarded Mills, Sullivan and McManus the email from Bultrowicz with the subject line “Attack on Benghazi 90112012”:

“DSCC received a phone call from [REDACTED] in Benghazi, Libya initially stating that 15 armed individuals were attacking the compound and trying to gain entrance. The Ambassador is present in Benghazi and currently is barricaded within the compound. There are no injuries at this time and it is unknown what the intent of the attackers is. At approximately 1600 DSCC received word from Benghazi that individuals had entered the compound. At 1614 RSO advised the Libyans had set fire to various buildings in the area, possibly the building that houses the Ambassador [REDACTED] is responding and taking fire.”

At 12:04 a.m. Randolph updated Mills, Sullivan and McManus with another email with the subject line “FW: Update 3: Benghazi Shelter Location Also Under Attack”:

“I just called Ops and they said the DS command center is reporting that the compound is under attack again. I am about to reach out to the DS Command Center.”

Contained in that email is a series of equally damning updates:

4:54 p.m.: “Embassy Tripoli reports the firing at the U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi has stopped and the compound has been cleared. A response team is on site to locate COM personnel.”

6:06 p.m.: “Update 2: Ansar al-Sharia Claims Responsibility for Benghazi Attack (SBU): (SBU) Embassy Tripoli reports the group claimed responsibility on Facebook and Twitter and call for an attack on Embassy Tripoli.”

11:57 p.m.: “(SBU) DS Command reports the current shelter location for COM personnel in Benghazi is under mortar fire. There are reports of injuries to COM staff.”

And finally, at 3:22 a.m., Sept. 12, Senior Watch Officer Andrew Veprek forwarded an email to numerous State Department officials, later forwarded to Mills and McManus. The subject line? “Death of Ambassador Stevens in Benghazi”:

“Embassy Tripoli confirms the death of Ambassador John C. (Chris) Stevens in Benghazi. His body has been recovered and is at the airport in Benghazi.”

Two hours later, McManus forwarded the news of Stevens' death to the State Department Legislative Affairs office – with instructions not to “forward to anyone at this point.”

Hillary Clinton’s response? An official statement calling the attack “a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet.”

As for her other, earlier response, blatantly ignored by the mainstream media? A 10 p.m. phone call between Clinton and Obama, completely contradicting the previous assertion by the White House that Obama made no phone calls the night of the attack. As National Review’s Andrew McCarthy sarcastically asked, “Gee, what do you suppose Obama and Clinton talked about in that 10 p.m. call?”

The rest of the orchestrated disinformation campaign – sending former UN ambassador, current National Security Advisor and reliable propagandist Susan Rice on network news shows to maintain the despicable lie, Obama’s assertion of same on the David Letterman Show and at the UN, the spending of $70,000 for a Pakistani ad campaign showing Obama and Clinton denouncing the anti-Islamic video, and a host of other insults to the public’s intelligence – can no longer be obscured.

America twice elected an inveterate liar as commander in chief. And the very same corrupt media that ran interference for Obama’s lies are gearing up to do the same thing for an equally inveterate liar. And make no mistake: All of Clinton’s critics will be characterized as perpetrating a war on women whenever the subject of her horrendous track record of prevarication arises – one that included another blatant lie about landing in Bosnia under sniper fire.

And that’s if those questions arise at all. Here are two separate Google Searches related to the revelations presented by Judicial Watch. Note that not a single mainstream media source has even filed a report, much less made this the kind of headline story, followed by a relentless series of updates, that would have attended any Republican caught doing exactly the same thing. An equal amount of calculated disinterest attends the scandalous conflict of interest surrounding the Clinton Foundation, which received millions of dollars from foreign governments while Clinton was secretary of state. Foreign governments and individuals are prohibited from giving money to a U.S. political candidate. Funneling those contributions through the Clinton Foundation allows Hillary to skirt such restrictions.

On Benghazi, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton gets it exactly right: “These emails leave no doubt that Hillary Clinton’s closest advisers knew the truth about the Benghazi attack from almost the moment it happened. And it is inescapable that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton knowingly lied when she planted the false story about ‘inflammatory material being posted on the Internet.’ The contempt for the public’s right to know is evidenced not only in these documents but also in the fact that we had to file a lawsuit in federal court to obtain them. The Obama gang’s cover-up continues to unravel, despite its unlawful secrecy and continued slow-rolling of information. Congress, if it ever decides to do its job, cannot act soon enough to put Hillary Clinton, Cheryl Mills, and every other official in these emails under oath.”

Whether Congress is up to the job or not, one thing is crystal clear: Hillary Clinton is manifestly unfit to lead this nation. Her election to the Oval Office would be a continuation of the lawlessness and lying this nation has endured for the past six years. Judicial Watch has produced the smoking gun. The voting public ignores it at the nation’s peril.

The CPAC Sizzler: Red Meat for Primaries

2015-03-02-6543ce2d.jpg

The Republican presidential primary virtually began this past weekend right outside the Washington Beltway. The event is also known as the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

The gathering of thousands of activists was treated to candidates and experts engaged in extensive and serious policy discussions. There were no doubts where participants of CPAC stand regarding America’s exceptionalism, Liberty and the Constitution.

Some highlights:

In the face of growing threats in the world (and no, we don’t mean the climate), potential presidential contenders emphasized national security and foreign policy. The Islamic State was clearly identified as Islamic and named as a necessary target for destruction to end its evil and medieval barbarism.

Florida Senator Marco Rubio jumped from the obvious problem of ISIL and the cauldron of toil and trouble of the Middle East to pledging to reverse Obama’s cancellation of the missile defense installations in Europe to appease and pacify the angry Bear of Russia. Rubio pegged the KGB-raised Vladimir Putin as a danger in need of countering, arguing for an expansion of missile defense into Eastern Europe beyond Poland and the Czech Republic.

Rubio assessed Obama’s “JV” foreign policy, characterizing the commander in chief’s frame of reference thusly: “America, and American engagement, is more often the source of our problems than the source of our solutions.” Rubio slammed this view as wrong and dangerous.

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal hammered the administration’s “jobs for Jihadistan” approach: “We don’t need a war on international poverty, we need a war on the evil radical Islamic terrorism.” Furthermore, Jindal asserted, Obama’s administration has incompetently failed at formulating and executing a realistic plan aimed at “degrading and destroying ISIS.” Therefore, Jindal concluded, Obama “has shown himself incapable of being our commander in chief.”

On immigration policy, most all of the CPAC featured speakers were in unison in supporting a secured southern border and enforcement of existing laws to encourage and reward legal immigration.

Rubio – of the Senate’s “Gang of Eight” fame – said he’s learned his lesson: “[Y]ou can’t even have a conversation about [illegal immigrants already in the country] until people believe and know – not just believe, but it’s proven to them – that future illegal immigration is brought under control.” He’s absolutely right, despite what many conservatives view as his blemished track record.

On the other hand – and this is no surprise – Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor and wannabe-GOP-nominee with big donors on his side, was honest enough not to pander in his proclamation, “Yes, I support a path to legalization” for illegal immigrants currently in our nation. (He also began his tack Left on same-sex marriage, perhaps signaling he won’t even bother trying to convince voters a la Mitt Romney that he really is “severely conservative.”)

The CPAC speaker with the most election wins (three) over the last four years, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, clearly articulated the most basic spirit of America: “Up there in Washington, we have a president who measures success by how many people are dependent on the government. There’s a reason we celebrate the Fourth of July and not April 15, because in America we celebrate our independence from the government and not our dependence on it.”

And former Texas Governor Rick Perry offered up downright Reaganesque optimism: “I’ve never been more certain than I am today that America’s best days remain in front of us. The weakness and incompetence of our government shouldn’t be confused with the strength, the ingenuity and the idealism of the American people.” Perry listed the nation’s painful sufferings through the War Between the States, two world wars and the Carter administration before assuring CPACers, “We will survive the Obama years too.”

The economy, education, tax reform, God, guns and family were other key areas where speakers strummed the heartstrings of this constitutionally conservative crowd. Speeches are one thing, but the most important question left unanswered is this: Can the GOP win the White House in 2016? Or will the GOP lose in the same way it lost in 2012 – with lots of highly paid consultants, an embarrassing ground game and a timid approach to a vision for a great America? Based solely on the roster of CPAC speeches, we’re hopeful that history won’t repeat itself. But we’ll find out soon enough.

OPINION IN BRIEF

The Gipper: “A recession is when your neighbor loses his job. A depression is when you lose yours. And recovery is when Jimmy Carter loses his.”

Columnist Jeff Jacoby: “[B]y reacting so poisonously to Netanyahu’s scheduled appearance, the White House has only fueled more interest in what he has to say. Obama may have guaranteed that Israel’s leader will give the speech of his career to a once-in-a-lifetime audience. Only at a superficial level is this about partisan or political loyalties. Immensely more important is the lethal threat of a nuclear-armed Iran. Even without the bomb, Iran is the world’s most dangerous regime – apocalyptic incubator of terrorism and jihad, ruthless suppressor of human rights, unflagging zealot for wiping Israel ‘off the map,’ and fanatic about bringing ‘Death to America.’ Like any democratic politician, Netanyahu can be maddening or fickle. But there is no issue on which he has been so consistent, for so long, as preventing Tehran from acquiring the nuclear capability that would empower it to fulfill its genocidal goals. The fuss over protocol and personalities is interesting. It won’t keep Americans from giving their ally’s leader a respectful hearing.”

Columnist Star Parker: “The President has a bully pulpit waiting for him whenever he wants to use it to explain to the American people why he doesn’t want Benjamin Netanyahu to give this speech. Instead of shooting straight with us, the president is sending out his foot soldiers, his proxies, Democrats in Congress, including the black Caucus, to do his business for him, with flimsy explanations. What’s up with our President? And what’s up with the press? Why aren’t they asking penetrating questions? All of us recall as students reading about the tragedies in history and asking how they could have happened, why they weren’t prevented. We should hear the Israeli Prime Minster’s concerns. And our president, himself, should tell the American people why he so opposes this very sensible speech.”

JIHAD WATCH

isis-releases-new-video-children-jihadis-camp-where-cubs-are-trained

Islamic State: Children study Qur’an, get weapons training

They study the Qur’an? Do they skip over all of its peaceful passages upon which Barack Obama, David Cameron and the rest place such hope? Or are those leaders engaging in wishful thinking on a massive scale when they insist that the Islamic State has nothing to do with Islam? “Isis pays parents for children […]

Mullah Krekar

Muslim cleric: Those who don’t respect Muslims have “no right to live”

Watch the video. He keeps saying that it is not he who is saying these things, but that they’re Islamic teachings. Will some Muslim spokesmen in the West who claims to abhor what Mullah Krekar is saying kindly explain how he is wrong on Islamic grounds? Of course not. And no one in the mainstream […]

Islamic State: Pro-Palestinians in Europe actually sleeper Islamic State cells

“There were small armies of the Islamic State within every country of Europe by late 2014, and the intelligence agencies didn’t even know about it!” Inconceivable! UK Muslim cleric under fire for views on gays: “Views I hold have been held by Muslims for hundreds of years”

“It had been reported that Dr al-Haddad’s talk could still go ahead.” Of course. Iran behind cyber-attack on Adelson’s Sands Corp.

Adelson is “a leading U.S. supporter of Israel and of Republican political candidates.” Since Obama is relentlessly courting Iran and making concession after concession to the mullahs, this is unlikely to be taken in the highest circles in Washington as a belligerent act. By Oscar Y. Harward

Republican legislators are broadly departing on ‘divisional’ issues.  Americans are witnessing giant separation votes.

Republican Party candidates are only required to have an ‘R’ attached to their name in receiving (re)election contributions from the RNC and/or its political subsidiaries; regardless of the candidates’ political viewpoints, their personal and/or political records, their values, and/or their support of the GOP Platform.

The GOP Platform begins with “We the People”.  Many GOP officials lack the courage in supporting Constitutional issues based on our GOP Platform, and/or our Christian values.  Our GOP Platform is a blueprint; a resolve of political convictions with character. file:///C:/Users/Oscar/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows/Temporary%20Internet%20Files/Content.IE5/JTQM7ERK/2012GOPPlatform.pdf

Many Republican Party legislators, after little to no background research, appoint and/or confirm individuals to offices, including SCOTUS nominees, even when the candidate(s) support(s) bigger government and fewer individual freedoms.

During the 2014 election year season, Washington based Republican Party leaders raised enormous amounts of GOP associated money, and while rejecting Conservative Republican Party candidates in GOP ‘primaries’, distributed GOP funds to more ‘left-of-center’ candidates who mildly support President Obama’s and the Democrat Party’s ‘leftist’ issues.

GOP candidates receiving ‘RNC and all other GOP subsidiary associated monies’ must/should be required to support a minimum of 80% of our GOP Platform issues on ‘divisional issue’ decrees.

GOP leaders must reject all Democrat’s left-wing philosophies.  Republican Party leaders must discard their own failures; then restart, restore, and/or replace our political leaders by building an honorable, responsible, and Conservative Republican Party.

To: My Tea Party Christian brothers.

Brothers, true happiness, is knowing that God loves us, our country was founded under Christian principles and as Americans we acknowledge that we are God’s creation. Today Americans are hungry for a personal change and ready to deal with adversity, poverty and hunger is rampant and it is raising a question "If God love us, why he is forsaking us and led millions die of hunger”.

This is the truth, God's creation is for the benefit of humanity, but man's greed deprive millions of food, created poverty and enslaver others. Brothers God give us free will,  it is us that commit sins against our brothers, the soul of many are corrupt by evil and are in complete denial about the existence of God the creator of all things; each-one of us will account for our sins, that is the law. We must practice God's law "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself." We must practice and learn to love each other.

I love my self-unconditionally, I know that the Lord is with me helping me to be an advocate of his purpose, I can do nothing by myself , the spirit of God within me does the work and the spirit is being everything now. My only responsibility is to share his word with everyone because the Lord Jesus made as a family to love and to share our knowledge and all things that will make others to be the best they can be, so in turn they be able to do the same.

Jesus Christ is God's gift to all men kind and through Jesus; our father is given to us the gift of eternal life. There is only one way to receive God's gift of eternal life and that is through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let's pray.  Lord, give us the wisdom to work with others in harmony to spread your word and the glory of your kingdom. This I ask in the name of your beloved son Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 2:16 ESV

Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.

Ecclesiastes 3:13 ESV

Also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God's gift to man.

Luke 4:18-19 ESV

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.

Ephesians 6:8-10 ESV

Knowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free. Masters, do the same to them, and stop your threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him. Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.

Proverbs 22:16 ESV

Whoever oppresses the poor to increase his own wealth, or gives to the rich, will only come to poverty.

Luke 6:31 ESV

And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

Leviticus 22:11 ESV

But if a priest buys a slave as his property for money, the slave may eat of it, and anyone born in his house may eat of his food.

John 8:34 ESV

Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.

Proverbs 14:31 ESV

Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.

Revelation 13:16 ESV

Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead,

Ephesians 6:6-8 ESV

Not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, knowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.

Galatians 2:4 ESV

Yet because of false brothers secretly brought in—who slipped in to spy out our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might bring us into slavery—

Matthew 11:28 ESV

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

 THREAT MATRIX…
“When Secretary of State Hanoi John Kerry decided to try to put the threat from ISIS into perspective in congressional testimony, he raised some eyebrows in the intelligence community. Hanoi Kerry told lawmakers, ‘Our citizens, our world today, is actually, despite ISIL, despite the visible killings that you see and how horrific they are, we are actually living in a period of less daily threat to Americans and to people in the world than normally; less deaths, less violent deaths today, than through the last century.’
That prompted a quick response from lawmakers and from inside the intelligence community. Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, former head of the Defense Intelligence Agency under President nObama told Fox News, ‘Secretary Hanoi Kerry is out of touch with reality, he clearly is not listening to the entire U.S. intelligence community, he is not reading any of the intelligence or other things that have been written over the last few weeks, months, years. …[ F]or him to make those statements is totally irresponsible and he should be challenged by anyone who cares about the future of this country.’ Hanoi Kerry’s comments appear to be part of a pattern. The president, for example, recently told
Vox that he believed the media was hyping the threat from terrorists.
But we have a reminder today about the relentless enemy we face. It was on this day 22 years ago that terrorists detonated a truck bomb in the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York.  It killed six Americans and injuring hundreds more, but it didn't have the intended effect of bringing down the tower. Eight years later, though, the terrorists would not only accomplish that goal, but bring down both towers in the most audacious attack on U.S. soil since Pearl Harbor.
The administration’s assurances would be comforting if true. But the people we talk to in and around the intelligence community – the people who actually analyze the data – see things very differently. They see a threat matrix exponentially more deadly than it was 22 years ago today.” – Bret Baier-Fox News

The Judge’s Ruling -   Citing challenges to the protection against unreasonable search and seizure provided by the Constitution’s Fourth Amendment, Fox News Senior Judicial Analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano ponders the notion of a government fearful of freedom: “What if invading our freedoms keeps us less safe?  nOBAMA VOWS ‘AGGRESSIVE’ RESPONSE ON COURT DEFEAT   FOR AMNESTY: ‘THIS   IS JUST ONE JUDGE’
The Hill: “Participating in a town hall-style immigration forum in Miami, [President nObama] said a recent ruling against his new immigration policies by a federal judge in Texas was wrongly decided and promised to use all his legal options to ensure the new programs are ultimately adopted. ‘This is just one federal judge. We have appealed it very aggressively. We’re going to be as aggressive as we can,’ nObama said during the event at Florida International University, hosted by MSNBC and Telemundo, the Spanish-language media giant. ‘I’m using all of the legal power vested in me in order to solve this problem.’”  -Fox News

Denied using immigration for a political advantage -   Rejecting accusations that he failed to push through immigration reform when Democrats controlled Congress, President nObama blamed Republicans, then and now, and seemed a perturbed when asked if both parties are playing “political ping pong” with immigration. “That’s just not true,” nObama said. “Democrats have consistently stood on the side of comprehensive immigration reform.” “You do a disservice when you suggest that, Ah, nobody was focused on this," the president added. “Because then you don't know who's fighting for you and who's fighting against you.”   -Fox News

Homeland funding fight will return to House -   WaPo: “The Senate voted Wednesday to move ahead with a bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security after Democratic leaders dropped an earlier pledge to block it unless they get assurances from House Republican leaders that it would pass their chamber. The bill advanced on a procedural vote by a 98-2 margin. The only dissenters were Republican Sens. James Inhofe (Okla.) and Jeff Sessions (Ala.) Final passage could come before Friday when current funding will run out at DHS. ‘We're going to do everything we can to make sure it passes by an overwhelming vote,’ Senate Minority Leader dinky Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters. He said he looked forward to working with Republicans "in the next 24 hours" to get this done.  Even if the bill clears the Senate, it's unclear how the House will respond.”  -Fox News

REID AGREES TO MEET WITH BIBI
The Hill: “Senate leaders from both parties will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his visit to Washington, D.C., next week. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McCon-nell (R-Ky.) and Minority Leader dinky Harry Reid (D-Nev.) will meet with Netanyahu on Tuesday afternoon, after his address to a joint session of Congress on the Iranian nuclear threat. On Wednesday, Netanyahu declined an invitation to meet only with Senate Democrats, fearing it would ‘compound the misperception of partisanship’ surrounding his visit. The bipartisan invite comes amid rising tension between the nObama administration and Netanyahu.”

Megyn Kelly Played This Video from George W. Bush
(Matthew Burke) - On FOX News’ The Kelly File  on Thursday, host Megyn Kelly played an eerily prophetic, timely, and applicable video from George W. Bush in 2007 warning about the consequences of pulling out of Iraq too early (WATCH VIDEO BELOW)...Bush was roundly criticized for the comments at the time, but considering the horrific events in the Middle East excalating while nObama works on lowering his golf handicap, Bush’s words have even deeper impact.        http://www.tpnn.com/2014/09/05/megyn-kelly-played-this-video-from-george-w-bush-and-liberal-heads-are-exploding/

MAJOR U.S. Company Bows to Shariah Law
(tpnn.com) - The United Stated is in a moment of crisis. While we have a longstanding history of religious tolerance and allowing for the free and open worship of all faiths, it would be less-than-truthful to claim that the United States is not engulfed in a cultural war surrounding religion...As the nObama Administration cracks-down on Christian institutions and principles while citing the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment as their supposed justification, the nObama Administration conspicuously coddles the religion of Islam in order to display a sort of tolerance to Muslims strictly denied to Christians.      http://www.tpnn.com/2014/11/01/major-u-s-company-bows-to-shariah-law/

Taliban Suicide Bomber Strikes NATO Diplomatic Convoy in Kabul
(Bill Roggio) - The Taliban suicide bomber rammed his car into the NATO convoy as it traveled in the Wazir Akbar Khan area, a neighborhood in the Afghan capital which hosts foreign embassies, a NATO base, and other sensitive installations...The attack took place “shortly after 8:00 am, not far from the Iranian embassy,” a senior Afghan interior ministry official told Ariana News. Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan, NATO’s new command in the country, confirmed that one “service member died as a result of an attack in Kabul today.” But “the NATO Senior Civilian Representative,” who previously was Turkey’s ambassador to Afghanistan, “was not involved and is unharmed.”       http://defenddemocracy.org/media-hit/bill-roggio-taliban-suicide-bomber-strikes-nato-diplomatic-convoy-in-kabul/

Superfish Spying Scandal has Mired PC Maker Lenovo
Famous PC Maker Exposed in Shocking Scandal
(Greg Miller) - Another day… another appalling spying scandal. One that would even shock infamous whistleblowers, Julian Assange and Edward Snowden. But we’re not talking about the government skimming through a few emails or phone records, or snapping your photo with a surveillance camera and adding you to a database...This was an egregious act of corporate larceny perpetrated by one of the world’s biggest companies. Think of Lenovo (LNVGY), and you probably picture a company renowned for designing and manufacturing personal computers. And you’d be absolutely right. The Chinese firm is the biggest PC manufacturer in the world. But there’s a dark side to the company, too.       http://www.wallstreetdaily.com/2015/02/27/lenovo-superfish/

Fines Remain Rare Even As Health Data Breaches Multiply
(Charles Ornstein) - In a string of meetings and press releases, the federal government’s health watchdogs have delivered a stern message: They are cracking down on insurers, hospitals and doctors offices that don’t adequately protect the security and privacy of medical records... “We’ve now moved into an area of more assertive enforcement,” Leon Rodriguez, then-director of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights, warned at a privacy and security forum in December 2012. But as breaches of patient records proliferate – just this month, insurer Anthem revealed a hack that exposed information for nearly 80 million people – federal overseers have seldom penalized the health care organizations responsible for safeguarding this data, a ProPublica review shows.

"In this operation a significant number of local Arab forces also helped them because people came to realize that there is no future under this terrorist organization."       http://www.voanews.com/content/kurdish-fighters-seize-key-islamic-state-stronghold/2661793.html

Empowering Jihad: The Deadly Myth of a 'Root Cause'
(Phyllis Chesler) - Reports that "Jihadi John," the British-accented narrator of ISIS snuff videos, is Mohammed Emwazi — an educated young man from a middle-class background — ought to put the final stake in the pretense that poverty and a lack of education and opportunity fuel Islamist hate. This mistaken idea seems to be nObama administration policy...Marie Harf, the US Department of State deputy spokesperson, recently said: "We cannot win this war by killing jihadists. We need to go after the root causes that lead people to join these groups, whether it is lack of opportunity for jobs. . . We can work with countries around the world to help improve their governance. We can help them build their economies so they can have job opportunities for these people." Of course, the news about "Jihadi John" is only the latest evidence to the contrary. These terrorists are often well educated and even wealthy. (Terresa Monroe-Hamilton) - The first article of the Betrayal Papers asserted that the Muslim Brotherhood was not only influential in the United States government, but in fact dominated the administration of President Barack Hussein nObama...This article will name several key people who were or are in the nObama administration and who have various, documented associations with organizations which are directly tied to and/or funded by the Muslim Brotherhood and the State of Qatar (home to Brotherhood’s Spiritual Leader, Yusuf al-Qaradawi). These individuals have helped dictate national security policies that have crippled counterterrorism efforts at home and abroad.       http://www.trevorloudon.com/2015/02/betrayal-papers-part-2-in-plain-sight-a-national-security-smoking-gun/

Stopgap DHS funding bill fails in House
(foxnews.com) - A stopgap bill to keep money flowing to the Homeland Security Department past a midnight deadline failed in the House late Friday, in a surprise turn of events that again raises the possibility of a partial agency shutdown...The vote was 224-203 against the measure, as 52 Republicans defected and joined Democrats in opposing the leadership-backed legislation. The first group was upset because the legislation had been stripped of changes to President nObama's immigration policy, and the second because it lacked full-year funding for the sprawling department.       http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/02/27/congress-prepares-to-punt-amid-impasse-on-dhs-funding/

Islamist Terrorists Are In America, Mexico Partially Responsible
(rickwells.us) - Neil Cavuto references a sixty-eight page report which was just issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety which states that not only are illegal aliens with terrorist ties currently crossing into the United States unchecked, they have been doing so for quite a long time...Lt Col Tony Shaffer agrees with the report and notes that this is information known to the federal government as well.  He also notes that al-Shabaab, the terrorist organization that has threatened the Mall of America has conducted a similar operation in Kenya, adding credibility to their threats. Shaffer points out that FBI director James Comey has already stated that we are tracking about 200 suspected terrorists, with suspects in every state of the Union. He asks, “What about the 1,000 to 2,000 we’re not tracking who have come through the border?” He reiterates his point, “We know they’re coming through. We know we’re not detecting them.”       http://www.rickwells.us/islamist-terrorists-are-in-america-mexico-partially-responsible-is-military-action-against-mexico-part-of-the-solution/
There Will Always Be War
Alan Caruba
Islam%2B-%2Bmuslim%2BWarriors.jpg
(factsnotfantasy.blogspot.com) - We begin with the reality that the United States and many other nations are at war with militant Islamists. They are a growing army of religious zealots murdering Christians, Jews, others who are not Muslim, and even other Muslims.

In my youth America knew how to win wars. In Europe it bombed Germany into submission, leading its allies in an invasion that left Germany divided for decades until the Soviet Union collapsed. In Asia Truman dropped two atomic bombs on Japan because they didn’t get the message when Hiroshima was destroyed on August 6, 1945. It took a second bomb on Nagasaki on August 9 to bring about Japan’s surrender.

Millions died in World War II but the alternative would have been the loss of freedom for millions worldwide.

If one spends any time learning history, the primary lesson is that war has been a constant factor from the beginning of what we call civilization about five thousand years ago.

The Bronze Age introduced new weapons that gave the residents of the Fertile Crescent in the Middle East a distinct advantage over invading nomadic people, but the invaders introduced chariots and it took the Egyptians and Babylonians a while to catch up. War has always been about new, more lethal weaponry.

Why would we be surprised to learn that the Assyrians who originated in what is now northern Iraq or the Islamic State (ISIS) were the most violent and bloodthirsty of the ancient world’s peoples? Known to all their neighbors by 1300 B.C.E., their army become a source of terror for the Middle East during the ninth century. They destroyed the Kingdom of Israel around 732 B.C.E., but the southern part of the Kingdom of Judah survived. In time the Babylonians would defeat the Assyrians.

Not all wars involved religion. The Greeks fought each other and then fought the Persians. Alexander the Great, a Macedonian, loved waging war and was very successful. The constant factor, however, was war and, of course, Rome would become the greatest empire of its time, beginning around 509 B.C.E., fighting three Punic wars with Carthage, but losing an estimated 400,000 in the first war and 150,000 in the second.

Eventually, Rome was so powerful it imposed a “Pax Romana” on the entire Mediterranean area it controlled. In time, Rome would be destroyed by the “barbarians”, Visigoths, Vandals, Ostrogoth’s, and Burgundians. By 476 C.E., the Roman Empire was history.

After establishing a group of followers in the Arabian Peninsula as the “last prophet”, proclaiming Islam as the one, true faith, Muhammad died in 632 C.E. Within ten years, the Arabs had conquered Jerusalem and were taking aim at Damascus and Cairo. Baghdad and the Libyan Desert were the next to be conquered. They moved on to Spain and Central Asia.

Cover%2B-%2BHandy%2BMilitary%2BHistory%2BAnswer%2BBook.jpg     During his lifetime, Ali, Mohammad’s son-in-law, was the leader of the Arab forces. As noted in Samuel Willard Crompton’s ‘The Handy Military History Answer Book’, by the time the Arabs fought the Byzantines and the Persians they had also initiated the great split that remains today between the Sunnis and the Shiites.” Shiite means “follower of Ali.” The Sunnis wanted to elect their own caliph.

After taking the southern half of Spain, the Muslim army was poised to take all of Europe, but their 732 C.E. defeat in the Battle of Tours put an end to further expansion. Their momentum in Asia was stopped in 751 C.E. with a defeat in the Battle of Talas. As Crompton notes, “in the century that followed the Prophet’s death, the Arabs took over ninety percent of all the urban centers in the Western world, and their conquests equaled those of ancient Rome.”

The Crusades

Which brings us to the first Crusade; it began when Pope Urban II in 1095 told a gathering of 10,000, mostly French and German knights, that a “new accursed group”, the Muslims, had taken control of the holy land were preventing pilgrims from visiting holy sites. The knights responded to his call to liberate Jerusalem by chanting “Deus Volt! Deus Volt!”—God wills it.

They were joined by a “Peasants Crusade” between 1095 and 1096. By June 1099 the knights arrived outside Jerusalem and what followed was a wholesale murder of everyone there. In 1185, Saladin, the emir of Cairo and Lord of Damascus, proclaimed a jihad—a holy war—against the Christians in the Kingdom of Jerusalem. The knights defending it were defeated.

A Second Crusade followed in 1147 C.E. but accomplished little and the Third Crusade had the same result. A Fourth Crusade resulted in the Europeans taking control of Constantinople in August 1204 C.E. They would rule it for the next fifty years. Years later, in 1489, a war drove the Muslims from Spain.

The spokeswoman from our Department of State who said that the present generation of Muslim holy warriors can’t all be killed doesn’t know that this is the way wars are won. You kill the enemy until the enemy decides that dying for their cause is not worth it.

If ISIS is insane enough to bring the war to our homeland (and even if it doesn’t), a war of total destruction will be the only way to end the present conflict. Currently, the Jordanians and the Egyptians are doing what they can to resist ISIS, but recent polls confirm that Americans are beginning to conclude that our active boots-on-the-ground participation is the only way this will end.

nObama is merely going through the motions of conducting a war against ISIS, but retired generals and diplomats have told Congress that only full-scale war will end the threat they represent.

Meanwhile, ISIS is committing genocide against the Christians of the Middle East while Boko Haram is doing the same in Africa. Hezbollah would do the same against Israel if it could. Given nuclear arms, Iran will assert control over all of the Muslim warriors, threatening both Israel and the U.S.

Our next President will have to commit to destroying ISIS. There is no alternative. That is history’s primary lesson.

SHOW TIME: CPAC KICKS OFF NEXT PHASE OF GOP CAMPAIGN
Every major player for the Republican presidential nomination knows where to be this week: the Conservative Political Action Conference in suburban Washington. It’s always a big deal, but CPAC takes on new significance this year as Republicans try to sort through a bumper crop of presidential contenders. And they will all, with the exception of Ohio Gov. John Kasich and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, make the trip to Prince George’s County, Md. to audition for the party’s activist base. Think of it this way: There a two concurrent contests going on in the GOP. One is a fundraising drag race in the first eight months of the year. We’ll see the results as quarterly filing come in. But the other fight is for the hearts and minds of issue-driven activists – social, fiscal, libertarian, national security and even more niche concerns –who propel the party. We’ll know by Saturday who’s in the lead for that prize.

Schlapp-ed  The American Conservative Union, under the leadership of new Chairman Matt Schlapp has rebooted the event, which had in recent years come to cater to the party’s libertarian wing, in favor of the more broad-spectrum Reaganite conservatism that animated the organization at its outset. The response has been dramatic. Moderates (Jeb Bush), social conservatives (Rick Santorum), libertarian leaners (Rand Paul) and defense hawks (Marco Rubio) will all be making their case to attendees and competing in the event’s annual presidential straw poll. And rather than just canned speeches, candidates are consenting to be questioned by conservative opinion-makers like Laura Ingraham, who will be sautéing Gov. Chris Christie, R-N.J., today.   -Fox News

Fearless forecast -   Walker has the most to gain or lose as he is arriving amid a rapid ascent to frontrunner status. Here’s the Fox News First fearless forecast: Several candidates will get a boost out of the weekend but at least one will start to see the window close on his or her presidential hopes. In a field this crowded, the same rule applies as to college admissions and suspensions: “Easy in, easy out.”   -Fox News

 CLINTON CASH VIOLATED ETHICS RULES
WaPo: “The Clinton Foundation accepted millions of dollars from seven foreign governments during Hilly Rodham Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state, including one donation that violated its ethics agreement with the nObama administration, foundation officials disclosed Wednesday. Most of the contributions were possible because of exceptions written into the foundation’s 2008 agreement, which included limits on foreign-government donations. The agreement, reached before Clinton’s nomination amid concerns that countries could use foundation donations to gain favor with a Clinton-led State Department, allowed governments that had previously donated money to continue making contributions at similar levels. The new disclosures, provided in response to questions from The Washington Post, make clear that the 2008 agreement did not prohibit foreign countries with interests before the U.S. government from giving money to the charity closely linked to the secretary of state.”
[Clinton’s fundraising flap has not hurt her with Iowa Democrats. Quinnipiac University’s first poll of potential Iowa Democratic caucus shows Clinton leads with 61 percent, followed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., at 19 percent, and Vice President loose lips Joe Biden at 7 percent. All other contenders were at 5 percent or below.]   -Fox News

#TBT -   The Atlantic looks at the Democratic candidates seeking to retake the Senate in 2016, including Ohio’s Ted Strickland, Wisconsin’s Russ Feingold, North Carolina’s Kay Hagan and Pennsylvania’s Joe Sestak, and what they have in common with their party’s presumptive presidential nominee. They’re all aging baby boomers who have lost before. “Clinton isn’t that old—she'll be 69 on Election Day 2016—but all this talk of age has some Democrats worried about the graying of the party’s pool of candidates, and the shallow bench of youngsters behind them. Many in the party are worried about the age of party leaders in Congress. But one of the clearest demonstrations of the age gap is in races for the U.S. Senate, where Democrats hope to recover control in 2016.”   -Fox News

More Smoking Guns Confirm Benghazi Cover-up
(Roger Aronoff) - We have repeatedly exposed how the mainstream media consistently ignore the “phony scandal” of the multiple terrorist attacks in Benghazi, Libya in 2012, and the unnecessary deaths of four brave Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens...Indeed, the mainstream media shy away from covering this scandal or, alternatively, dismiss efforts to expose the ongoing government cover-up as an attack on Hilly Clinton’s presidential chances. But the media should be furious because they—alongside of the American public—were sold a lie by the nObama administration. And the media became one of the tools through which that lie was disseminated. The latest disclosures have come to light thanks to the ongoing efforts of Judicial Watch.       http://www.aim.org/aim-column/more-smoking-guns-confirm-benghazi-cover-up/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email022715&utm_medium=email

 Erdoğan's Western Enablers
(Burak Bekdil) - The question of who lost Turkey is no doubt too late and futile to ask. A quick, but realistic answer, is probably "the Turks themselves," or, related to this, "it was destined to get lost."...After all, how Turkey is being governed today is a perfect reflection of what constitutes the predominant cultural, sociological and political values/norms in the country – each with economic derivatives of same or similar variables. We are all accountable by how rightly or wrongly we assessed the political phenomena; journalists by what accuracy their archives dating back to 10 or so years ago would produce, and politicians by their statements in the same retrospect. Any randomly selected opinion in this column since 2002 would too boringly portray the gloomy country we live in today, often with a note that "wished to be wrong."       http://www.meforum.org/5057/erdogan-western-enablers

Iran Working as Strategic Partner with Hezbollah Against Israel
(Jonathan Spyer and Benjamin Weinthal) - All is not quiet on the northern front between Israel and Syria/Lebanon. The recent Hezbollah attack on an Israel Defense Forces convoy in the Har Dov area close to Israel’s border with Lebanon...in which two Israeli soldiers were killed, was the latest move in a dangerous and high stakes game that is now underway on Israel’s northern frontier. Israel and Hezbollah are not the only players. The Islamic Republic of Iran, which the U.S. defines as the leading state-sponsor of terrorism, is also a key presence as Hezbollah’s strategic partner. The attack at Har Dov was the second move by Iran/Hezbollah in response to the Israeli operation on the Syrian Golan Heights on January 18th.  In the Israeli operation, a senior Iranian Revolutionary Guards officer, Mohammed Allahdadi, was killed, as was Jihad Mughniyeh, the son of a famous Hezbollah commander.       http://pjmedia.com/blog/iran-hezbollah/

(pamelageller.com) - It’s not just France and Denmark and Europe, it’s anywhere Muslims live and practice sharia.  The New Israel Fund Are Extremists and Anti-Israel
(pamelageller.com) - Democratic political strategist Hank Sheinkopf noted in The Observer, “Those who stand with New Israel Fund are standing against Israel. To suggest otherwise is a lie...I urge anyone affiliated with the NIF to stop supporting this organization financially. The New Israel Fund must be ostracized by the Jewish community.” The New Israel Fund thinks suicide bombings are bad. How about throwing rocks? How about shooting rockets? Notice, Sfard did not deny testifying for the PLO – nor did the New Israel Fund  deny that they support BDS, or that they collaborate with Palestinian enemies of Israel at the United Nations and worldwide. Clearly, this campaign to shame donors and expose the New Israel Fund must continue. Sfard’s friends at the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Palestinian Authority were held liable for real acts of terror this week. And we will continue to shame NIF donors. When most American Jews think of Jewish agencies, they think of social services, senior care, childcare, food and educational programs, or they think of support groups for various Israel causes. The New Israel Fund is none of that.       http://pamelageller.com/2015/02/the-new-israel-fund-are-extremists-and-anti-israel-read-our-reply-to-their-statement-ujafedny.html/

Retracing the legislative history behind King v. Burwell - ACA
(Thomas P. Miller) - Remember the case of the dog that did not bark in the night? If you want to count the “digital” and “paper” versions of trees that have been killed in trying to argue about the upcoming Supreme Court review of the legal challenge to an IRS rules...that tried to authorize tax credit subsidies for insurance coverage in federal-established health exchange under the Affordable Care Act, go ahead. I’ve lost count and given up, and that’s just looking at the official briefs filed on both sides. However, another astute Washington, DC-based attorney recently pointed out to several critics of the ACA, including me, how that isn’t the end of this legal story, which shows that the actual law passed by Congress never authorized tax credits for federal exchanges:       http://www.aei.org/publication/retracing-legislative-history-behind-king-v-burwell/?utm_source=today&utm_medium=paramount&utm_campaign=AEIToday022715

 The New Shiite Crescent
(Majid Rafizadeh) - While the nObama administration’s agenda and policies with regard to fighting the Islamic State have been counter-productive, the administration is ignoring other larger threats in the region...The profusion of Iran-trained Shiite militias in the region (particularly in Iraq, Syria, and Yemen) is unprecedented and represents the height of Iran’s support to militia groups. The incentives to recruit Shiite fighters can be either driven by financial means or religious/sectarian motives. The emergence of this new Shiite Crescent has unintended consequences for regional and global powers. Currently, an estimate of 120,000 Shiite militants are fighting in Iraq and Syria including fighters from Abo Al-Fadl Al-Abbasbrigade, Al-Imam AlHossein brigade, Tho Al-Faqar brigade, Kafil Zainab brigade, Asaib Ahl Alhaq, Ammar Bin Yasser brigade, Hezbollah Al-Nujaba’ movement, to name a few.       http://www.frontpagemag.com/2015/majid-rafizadeh/the-new-shiite-crescent/?utm_source=FrontPage+Magazine&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=a744fa4868-Mailchimp_FrontPageMag&utm_term=0_57e32c1dad-a744fa4868-156509103

Students For Justice in Palestine Hides True Intentions
(Ross Beroff) - Next week, our campus will be hosting Israel Apartheid Week (IAW), a series of events hosted by Students For Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapters across the country...It is time that this event and this group are exposed for what they truly are. SJP does not stand for justice, instead they are a hate group and a more fitting definition of the acronym would be, “Students for Jewish Persecution.” Let’s start with the naming of IAW. The use of the word “apartheid” in conjunction with Israel is not only false, but an insult to those who actually experienced true apartheid in South Africa. Most simply stated, there is no country in the Middle East that gives Arabs or other minorities more freedom than Israel does. Arabs can own land, vote, practice their chosen religion and speak their minds.       http://www.frontpagemag.com/2015/ross-beroff/students-for-justice-in-palestine-hides-true-intentions/?utm_source=FrontPage+Magazine&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=a744fa4868-Mailchimp_FrontPageMag&utm_term=0_57e32c1dad-a744fa4868-156509103

At UCLA, the Power of Negative Emotions
(David Suissa) - For several years now, a nasty anti-Israel group called Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) has bludgeoned Israel’s image on college campuses. They take no prisoners. They have little interest in polite and civil debate...They are lethal at manipulating the college bureaucracy to win Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) votes against Israel. They invite speakers linked to terrorists groups. They don’t even hide the fact that their beef with Israel goes much deeper than Israel’s disputed occupation of the West Bank. It’s all of Israel they have a problem with. When SJP talks about justice for Palestinians, they don’t mean justice for the millions of Palestinians living in misery in refugee camps in Jordan and Lebanon. They’re only interested in Palestinians that are connected to Israel– those living in the West Bank and Gaza—because only those Palestinians can accommodate SJP’s agenda to bash the Zionist enemy. Their contempt for Israel knows no bound. I challenge anyone to visit their Web sites, attend their demonstrations or read their literature and find one genuine gesture of recognition for Israel’s side of the story. UCLA was one of the campus that I was thinking of attending at a young age. The UCLA administration has gone to far and letting this group operate on campus.       http://www.frontpagemag.com/2015/david-suissa/at-ucla-the-power-of-negative-emotions/?utm_source=FrontPage+Magazine&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=a744fa4868-Mailchimp_FrontPageMag&utm_term=0_57e32c1dad-a744fa4868-156509103

A rallying call for our nation’s defense
Jim Talent, Eric Edelman
shutterstock_190896263

(aei.org) - Last week, the government confirmed that Kayla Mueller had died while in the custody of ISIS. In the weeks prior, we learned about the brutal murders of three innocent people — the beheading of two Japanese citizens and the immolation of a Jordanian pilot. That followed news that Russia was stepping up its aggression in Ukraine, which followed the overthrow of the Yemeni government by an Iranian proxy, which followed the Charlie Hebdo killings, which followed the North Korean cyber attack on an American company. The Pentagon has announced more troop deployments to the Middle East. Boko Haram is still kidnapping people in Nigeria, tensions are still high in the South and East China Seas, and Iran is still positioned to develop a nuclear bomb. China continues its massive military build-up, which is shifting the balance of power in its favor in the Western Pacific.

What more needs to happen before our leaders begin to take the defense budget seriously?

The nObama Administration has sent its FY 2016 defense budget to Congress. It contains a modest increase, but only when measured against the current baseline, and that baseline is almost $100 billion less than the amount that the Administration said, only four years ago, it would need to spend on defense in FY 2016.

That’s because since 2011, the government has — with full knowledge of the consequences — funded defense at a level that it knows is far less than needed to protect the vital interests of the United States.

In the spring of 2011, then-Secretary of Defense Bob Gates, after two years of paring back Pentagon spending, offered a ten-year budget with modest annual increases for his department. The increases didn’t even keep up with inflation, but they would at least have allowed the Defense Department to maintain its end strength, begin building up the Navy, and start to recapitalize its inventories after ten years of hard fighting.

Within a few months, President nObama proposed in a speech to cut $400 billion dollars from his own recently submitted budget. Later in the same year, he signed the Budget Control Act and sequester, which together imposed caps on defense spending that cut a trillion dollars from the Gates’s budget. There was no pretense that these cuts were warranted or even tolerable; in fact, at the same time as Congress and the President were enacting the cuts, the new secretary of defense Leon Panetta said that they would be “devastating”, and General Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, said that they were “like shooting ourselves in the head.”

They were correct. When the Pentagon is squeezed for money, it will typically cut first force structure and then modernization budgets; the last thing it cuts is day-to-day readiness, the ability of the current force to carry out its current missions. When the 2011 cuts fully hit, the Defense Department was forced to take the money from readiness. All of the services cut training and maintenance. The process created a backlog which still exists today. Since then, the Department has been cutting modernization programs and end strength. The Army, for example, is scheduled to shrink to pre-WWII levels.

The monstrous irony of the cuts is that they will end up costing money. At some point, the government will have to begin repairing the damage to the armed forces. That will take years and will certainly cost more than if the reductions had not occurred, just as the Reagan buildup in the 1980s cost more than it should have because the military was hollowed out during the Carter years. So the effect of the cuts is this: They have masked the size of the short term deficit — taking some of the pressure off Congress to address the real budgetary challenges — while increasing the longer term fiscal shortfall, unraveling American power, and compromising the credibility and security of the United States.

Irresponsibility of this magnitude is unprecedented, even in Washington. Senator John McCain was right when, in his speech to the Munich Security Conference, he referred to the “collective insanity of sequestration—arbitrary defense cuts that all of our military leaders testified to Congress two weeks ago are putting American and allied lives at risk.”

Last year, Congress created a bipartisan Independent Panel to review the condition and future plans of the Department of Defense. The panel was co-chaired by former Secretary of Defense Bill Perry and retired General John Abizaid. To no one’s surprise, the panel unanimously condemned both the cuts and the process by which they were enacted, finding that “today the Department is facing major readiness shortfalls that will, absent a decisive reversal of course, create the possibility of a hollow force that loses its best people, underfunds procurement, and shortchanges innovation. The fact that each service is experiencing degradations in so many areas at once is especially troubling at a time of growing security challenges.”

Such reports are usually quite careful in their language and guarded in their recommendations. This one wasn’t. In the Introduction to the report, the panel stated that. “in fact—and this bears emphasis—we believe that unless recommendations of the kind we make in this Report are adopted, the Armed Forces of the United States will in the near future be at high risk of not being able to accomplish the National Defense Strategy.”

The panel recommended that 1) funds be appropriated to restore near term readiness, 2) the Department develop a plan based on realistic budgets for the future, and 3) in the meantime Congress return to at least the budget baseline which Secretary Gates proposed in 2011, which was the last time the Department was allowed to engage in anything approaching real defense planning.

In sum, it was a stunning rebuke of the defense policies of the last four years. For a more thorough discussion, see here.

Until recently, Congress had at least a political excuse for not removing the caps on defense. The House and Senate were controlled by different parties, making common action on anything quite difficult, and national security was not a priority issue in the minds of the public.

But the environment has changed. The Republicans now have complete control of Congress, and the events of the last year have awakened the American people to the risks that are accumulating around the world. National security will be a major issue in the next presidential election. Candidates of both parties are quite likely to attack the defense policy of the last four years, for two reasons. First, that policy is a poster child for exactly the kind of bipartisan Washington dysfunction that voters hate. Second, no one who contemplates exercising the responsibilities of the presidency, and who is not named Barack nObama, wants to try to defend American security with a military which, in the panel’s words, will be at “high risk of not being able to execute the national defense strategy.”

Senator Marco Rubio and Governor Bobby Jindal have already given strong speeches condemning the defense cuts; other likely Republican candidates will almost certainly follow suit; and the signs are that Hilly Clinton will also support returning to the Gates’ baseline. Former undersecretary of defense Michele Flournoy, who heads the list of likely defense secretaries in a Hilly Clinton administration, was a member of the panel, supported its report, and has testified and spoken out strongly in favor of its recommendations.

Anyone who reads the Constitution will see right away that “providing for the common defense” is the priority responsibility of the federal government. In fact, it is the government’s only mandatory function; all of the other powers granted to Congress in Article I are permissive in nature, but Article IV of the Constitution states that the government “shall protect the each of them (the States) from invasion.” Neither the states, nor the people in them, are being sufficiently protected now, and the time is drawing near when there will be a political accounting for what has happened.

The Congressional Republicans now have a chance – probably their final chance – to take a leadership role on behalf of a strong national defense. They can pass a defense appropriations bill for FY 2016 at substantially above the president’s request, and they can pass a ten year budget which returns defense spending to the Gates’ baseline while at the same time retaining the sequester levels for non-defense spending.

In other words, the Republicans could fund what the Constitution deems important and otherwise hold the line in the name of fiscal restraint. That would be a conservative budget. More important, it would be the single most consequential act this Congress could take to protect American security during the two years that remain of the nObama Administration.
