Trump: Iran War Will 'Get Wrapped Up Soon!'-Posted on NewsMax-By Newsmax Wires-On October 30, 2026:  

President Donald Trump said Friday he believes the war with Iran will end soon, but insisted that any resolution must guarantee Tehran will never obtain a nuclear weapon.

"It's going to get wrapped up soon," Trump said during an interview with Kansas City radio station KCMO, just four days before Tuesday's midterm congressional elections.

"We need a guarantee there'll never be a nuclear weapon," the president added.

Trump did not explain how the conflict would end or whether a diplomatic agreement was imminent.

His comments came as U.S. military officials reiterated that American forces have crippled Iran's naval capabilities and secured key shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz, despite continuing threats from Tehran.

Adm. Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. Central Command, said Friday that Iran's navy is "at the bottom of the sea" and that the waterway's primary international shipping lanes remain clear of Iranian mines.

In a video posted on social media, Cooper said U.S. forces have helped Gulf partners export more than 1.5 billion barrels of crude oil since the summer while preventing Iran from exporting oil through the strait.

Cooper said he recently flew over the strategically vital waterway and observed American military aircraft and vessels maintaining security.

"What I didn't see," Cooper said, was Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which had spent decades threatening and harassing commercial shipping.

"They were not out there because Iran's navy is all at the bottom of the sea," he said.

However, Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed Friday that two oil tankers were halted after attempting to use the U.S.-backed southern shipping route, which Tehran considers unauthorized, CBS News reported.

Iran's navy later claimed two tankers were damaged and caught fire after striking naval mines. It also said Iranian forces destroyed an enemy drone east of the strait.

The claims could not be independently verified.

A day earlier, United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations reported that a tanker had been struck by a projectile in the strait.

Despite claims, Cooper maintained that American forces had successfully cleared the internationally recognized primary shipping routes of mines.

"Today, U.S. forces remain highly vigilant and present to ensure that all primary transit routes in the Strait of Hormuz remain free and clear," Cooper said.

Trump's prediction of a looming end to the conflict comes amid continued military tensions and concerns about the war's impact on global energy supplies.

Iranian Leader Warns of Retaliation as War Fears Grow!-Posted on NewsMax-On October 31, 2026:

The Iranian leader threatened an immediate response to a potential attack as fears of renewed war mount. Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei urged a stern military reaction to potential U.S. and Israel strikes, state media said on Saturday.

Meanwhile regional leaders called for calm.

The official IRNA news agency quoted Khamenei as saying that "any kind and level of threat" should face an immediate response. Khamenei made the comments during a meeting with the military. He said the forces should have combat readiness to confront their enemies and called for the updating of the target bank for the U.S. and Israel.

The remarks came as concerns rise about a possible return to a full-out war.

Mojtaba Khamenei became supreme leader after the U.S. and Israel launched the war in February killing his father and other high-ranking officials.

On Saturday, Saudi Arabia's vice minister of foreign affairs said the message from the region is that it wants a return to peace. Speaking at a security forum in Bahrain, Waleed ElKhereiji told the audience that efforts were being made to prevent a military escalation and reach an agreement that ends the crisis with Iran.

"If you look at … the efforts that everybody is trying to do, the message is very clear. People in this part of the world want to bring peace back to the region," he said. But he said no one can predict the outcome of the efforts.

Concerns are rising about a return to an all-out Iran war.

Speaking at the same event, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said an escalation in the region would be extremely destructive.

"We are very confident that … the second round will be more dangerous, more destructive, and it will lead to nowhere," he said.

Syria's Foreign Minister said Saturday that border security is a shared responsibility between his country and Jordan and that a high-level meeting is expected next month to discuss arrangements.

Speaking Saturday at the security forum in Bahrain, Assad al-Shibani said there are no "skirmishes" between the countries.

The announcement came after Jordanian strikes in Syria raised tensions between the neighbors.

Jordan said the strikes over Syria last week killed 20 militants from the extremist Islamic State group, but acknowledged that civilians had also been killed in the attacks. Syrian authorities reported seven people killed in the strikes, most of them women and children.

Separately, al-Shibani said Syria is in discussions to evaluate joining the Mecca Pact, the Saudi-led defense alliance that includes Turkey and Pakistan.

"Whether Syria joins or not, Syria thinks the region is in dire need of a structure that protects its security," he said.
