His administration prioritized rapid economic advancement, secular education, and sweeping social reform.

Yet, Jimmy Carter pulled the rug from under a faithful partner. Carter severed strategic backing, withdrew vital diplomatic support, and surrendered an entire sovereign state to religious extremists. This cowardly retreat tore down a progressive, forward-looking monarchy and installed Ayatollah Khomeini. Carter’s shocking weakness transformed a prosperous regional ally into a blood-soaked epicenter of global jihad

The tragic fallout of Carter’s treasonous error reverberated across the entire planet for decades. The collapse of Iran erased decades of social and economic progress in a single stroke. Khomeini erected a ruthless, predatory tyranny upon the ash heap of Iranian liberty. Mass executions, state-sanctioned torture, and total subjugation of the populace instantly replaced civil law and order.

Some have argued that Jimmy Carter stands in history as the undisputed father of modern Islamic terrorism. Prior to Carter’s fatal decision, radical fundamentalist movements lacked a sovereign territorial base, institutional leverage, and state revenue. Carter handed these violent zealots an oil-rich nation, complete with vast national treasury reserves, global intelligence networks, and sophisticated military hardware. Every fundamentalist syndicate operating today owes its power to Carter’s total collapse in resolve. From Hezbollah in Lebanon to militant networks across Europe and Asia, every piece of shrapnel fired by fundamentalist proxies’ traces directly back to Carter’s Oval Office. The massive power vacuum Carter created unleashed continuous regional bloodshed, unending proxy conflicts, and perpetual international chaos.

Ronald Reagan delivered a brutal, undeniable historic verdict on Carter’s massive failure. Reagan understood a fundamental rule of international statecraft: strategic weakness always invites brutal aggression. He publicly condemned the Washington foreign policy cartel for abandoning a sovereign monarch who actively constructed modern hospitals, technical universities, and national transport networks. Reagan recognized that Carter foolishly swapped a genuine reformist partner for a bloodthirsty executioner.

The historic record confirmed Reagan’s scathing indictment. The deliberate destabilization of the Iranian monarchy destroyed the delicate equilibrium of the entire Middle East. The American diplomatic machine abandoned its strategic instincts during Carter’s tenure. Washington elites embraced illusory human rights rhetoric while systematically undermining a staunch anti-communist ally. By targeting the Shah’s government with hostility, Carter provided direct aid and comfort to extremist agitators seeking total societal destruction. This toxic mixture of executive incompetence and foreign policy naivete shattered American influence throughout the Persian Gulf.

Every contemporary security crisis emanating from Tehran flows directly from Carter’s catastrophic choice. Iran-linked outlet releases video urging assassination of Melania Trump, threatens Barron!-Posted on The Washington Times-By Kerry Picket, The Washington Times-On July 28, 2026:

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-affiliated Tasnim news agency posted a video Monday urging its supporters to assassinate first lady Melania Trump and threatening presidential son Barron Trump.

The video, narrated in Persian, named department stores in Manhattan where Mrs. Trump is known to shop for clothes and noted security measures deployed in advance of her trips, including the removal of trash cans on the streets.

The footage, first reported by The Times of Israel, called on “freedom fighters” to use a nerve agent to poison President Trump’s wife and named three of her personal stylists, who they suggested be bribed to poison her clothing.

Toward the end of the video, a narrator threatened the Trumps’ 20-year-old son, who is a student at a Washington university:

“This is just the beginning. Barron Trump, wait for us!”

The video surfaced just before Mr. Trump was expected to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House to discuss how to approach Pickaxe Mountain, a fortified facility buried deep underground near one of Iran’s main nuclear sites.

The threatening video also follows billboards in Tehran last week demanding the deaths of other Trump family members, including Melania, Don Jr., Ivanka, Eric, Tiffany and Barron — reading “Blood for blood.”

Separately, banners stating “We will kill Trump” appeared in Mashhad around the burial of Iran’s former supreme leader.

Tasnim’s media license is held by an outlet founded by an IRGC commander, is seen as the Guards’ mouthpiece, and was sanctioned by the U.S. in 2023 over its ties to the IRGC.

Iran has previously threatened to assassinate Mr. Trump, and earlier in the month Israel told the White House about an Iranian plot to assassinate him.

The president publicly acknowledged the plan to reporters recently, saying that the Iranians, “want to take out the U.S. leader — me.”

“I’m on every single one of their lists. And so far, I guess I’ve been a little bit lucky, but that maybe doesn’t last very long,” he said.
