What’s wrong with this picture?

“Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has explained repeatedly over the years that Israel has no Palestinian partner to negotiate with. So news reports this week that Netanyahu agreed that the 1949 armistice lines, (commonly misrepresented as the 1967 borders), will be mentioned in terms of reference for future negotiations with the Palestinian Authority seemed to come out of nowhere.
Israel has no one to negotiate with because the Palestinians reject Israel’s right to exist. This much was made clear yet again last month when senior PA “negotiator” Nabil Sha’ath said in an interview with Arabic News Broadcast, “The story of ‘two states for two peoples’ means that there will be a Jewish people over there and a Palestinian people here. We will never accept this.”
Given the Palestinians’ position it is obvious that Netanyahu is right. There is absolutely no chance whatsoever that Israel and the PA will reach any peace deal in the foreseeable future. Add to this the fact that the Hamas terror group controls Gaza and will likely win any new Palestinian elections just as it won the last elections, and the entire exercise in finding the right formula for restarting negotiations is exposed as a complete farce.
So why is Israel engaging in these discussions?
The only logical answer is to placate US President Barack Obama.
For the past several months, most observers have been operating under the assumption that Obama will use the US’s veto at the UN Security Council to defeat the Palestinians’ bid next month to receive UN membership as independent Palestine. But the fact of the matter is that no senior administration official has stated unequivocally, on record that the US will veto a UN Security Council resolution recommending UN membership for Palestine.
Given Congressional and public support for Israel, it is likely that at the end of the day, Obama will veto such a resolution. But the fact that the President has abstained to date from stating openly that he will veto it makes clear that Obama expects Israel to “earn” a US veto by bowing to his demands.
These demands include abandoning Israel’s position that it must retain defensible borders in any peace deal with the Palestinians. Since defensible borders require Israel to retain control over the Jordan Valley and the Samarian hills, there is no way to accept the 1949 armistice lines as a basis for negotiations without surrendering defensible borders.
Say what you will about Obama’s policy, at least it’s a policy. Obama uses US power and leverage against Israel in order to force Israel to bow to his will.
What makes Obama’s Israel policy notable is not simply that it involves betraying the US’s most steadfast ally in the Middle East. After all, since taking office Obama has made a habit of betraying US allies.
Obama’s Israel policy is notable because it is a policy. Obama has a clear, consistent goal of cutting Israel down to size. Since assuming office, Obama has taken concrete steps to achieve this aim.
And those steps have achieved results. Obama forced Netanyahu to make Palestinian statehood an Israeli policy goal. He coerced Netanyahu into temporarily abrogating Jewish property rights in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria. And now he is forcing Netanyahu to pretend the 1949 armistice lines are something Israel can accept.
Obama has not adopted a similarly clear, consistent policy towards any other nation in the region. In Egypt, Syria, Iran, Turkey, Libya, and beyond, Obama has opted for attitude over policy. He has postured, preened, protested and pronounced on all the issues of the day.
But he has not made policy. And as a consequence, for better or for worse, he has transformed the US from a regional leader into a regional follower while empowering actors whose aims are not consonant with US interests.
Syria is case and point. President Bashar Assad is the Iranian mullahs’ lap dog. He is also a major sponsor of terrorism. In the decade since he succeeded his father, Assad Jr. has trained terrorists who have killed US forces in Iraq. He has provided a safe haven for al Qaeda terrorists. He has strengthened Syrian ties to Hezbollah. He has hosted Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other Palestinian terror factions. He has proliferated nuclear weapons. He reputedly ordered the assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri.
Since March, Assad has been waging war against his fellow Syrians. By the end of this week, with his invasion of Hama, the civilian death toll will certainly top two thousand.
And how has Obama responded? He upgraded his protestations of displeasure with Assad from “unacceptable” to “appalling.”
In the face of Assad’s invasion of Hama, rather than construct a policy for overthrowing this murderous US enemy, the Obama administration has constructed excuses for doing nothing. Administration officials, including Obama’s ambassador to Damascus Robert Ford, are claiming that the US has little leverage over Assad.
But this is ridiculous. Many in Congress and beyond are demanding that Obama withdraw Ford from Damascus. Some are calling for sanctions against Syria’s energy sector. These steps may or may not be effective. Openly supporting, financing and arming Assad’s political opponents would certainly be effective.
Many claim that the most powerful group opposing Assad is the Muslim Brotherhood. And there is probably some truth to that. At a minimum, the Brotherhood’s strength has been tremendously augmented in recent months by Turkey.
Some have applauded the fact that Turkey has filled the leadership vacuum left by the Obama administration. They argue that Turkish Prime Minister Recip Erdogan can be trusted to ensure that Syria doesn’t descend into a civil war.
What these observers fail to recognize is that Erdogan’s interests in a post-Assad Syria have little in common with US interests. Erdogan will seek to ensure the continued disenfranchisement of Syria’s Kurdish minority. And he will work towards the Islamification of Syria through the Muslim Brotherhood.
Today there is a coalition of Syrian opposition figures that include all ethnic groups in Syria. Their representatives have been banging the doors of the corridors of power in Washington and beyond. Yet the same Western leaders who were so eager to recognize the Libyan opposition despite the presence of al Qaeda terrorists in the opposition tent have refused to publicly embrace Syrian regime opponents that seek a democratic, federal Syria that will live at peace with Israel and embrace liberal policies.
This week Secretary of State Hillary Clinton held a private meeting with these brave democrats. Why didn’t she hold a public meeting? Why hasn’t Obama welcomed them to the White House?
By refusing to embrace liberal, multi-ethnic regime opponents, the administration is all but ensuring the success of the Turkish bid to install the Muslim Brotherhood in power if Assad is overthrown.
But then, embracing pro-Western Syrians would involve taking a stand and, in so doing, adopting a policy. And that is something the posturing president will not do. Obama is much happier pretending that empty statements from the UN Security Council amount to US “victories.”
If he aims any lower his head will hit the floor.
Obama’s preference for posture over policy is nothing new. It has been his standard operating procedure throughout the region. When the Iranian people rose up against their regime in June 2009 in the Green Revolution, Obama stood on the sidelines. As is his habit, he acted as though the job of the US President is to opine rather than lead. Then he sniffed that it wasn’t nice at all that the regime was mowing down pro-democracy protesters in the streets of Teheran and beyond.
And ever since, Obama has remained on the sidelines as the mullahs took over Lebanon, build operational bases in Latin America, sprint to the nuclear finishing line, and consolidate their power in Iraq and Afghanistan.
On Wednesday the show trial began for longtime US ally former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak and his sons. During last winter’s popular uprising in Egypt, Obama’s foes attacked him for refusing to abandon Mubarak immediately.
The reasons for maintaining US support for Mubarak were obvious: Mubarak had been the foundation of the US alliance structure with the Sunni Arab world for three decades. He had kept the peace with Israel. And his likely successor was the Muslim Brotherhood. But Obama didn’t respond to his critics with a defense of a coherent policy. Because his early refusal to betray Mubarak was not a policy. It was an attitude of cool detachment.
When Obama saw that it was becoming politically costly to maintain his attitude of detachment, he replaced it with a new one of righteous rage. And so he withdrew US support for Mubarak without ever thinking through the consequences of his actions. And now it isn’t just Mubarak and his sons humiliated in a cage. It is their legacy of alliance with America.
Recognizing that Obama refuses to adopt or implement any policies on his own, Congress has tried to fill the gap. The House Foreign Affairs Committee recently passed a budget that would make US aid to Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen and the PA contingent on certification that no terrorist or extremist organization holds governmental power in these areas. Clinton issued a rapid rebuke of the House’s budget and insisted it was unacceptable.
And this makes sense. Making US assistance to foreign countries contingent on assurances that the money won’t fund US enemies would be a policy. And Obama doesn’t make policy — except when it comes attacking to Israel.
In an interview with the New York Times on Thursday, Muammar Qaddafi’s son Seif al-Islam Qaddafi said he and his father are negotiating a deal that would combine their forces with Islamist forces and reestablish order in the country. To a degree, the US’s inability to overthrow Qaddafi — even by supporting an opposition coalition that includes al Qaeda — is the clearest proof that Obama has substituted attitude for policy everywhere except Israel.
Acting under a UN Security Council resolution and armed with a self-righteous doctrine of “Responsibility to Protect” Obama went to war against Qaddafi five months ago. But once the hard reality of war invaded his happy visions of Lone Rangers riding in on white stallions, Obama lost interest in Libya. He kept US forces in the battle, but gave them no clear goals to achieve. And so no goals have been achieved.
Meanwhile, Qaddafi’s son feels free to meet the New York Times and mock America just by continuing to breathe in and out before the cameras as he sports a new Islamic beard and worry beads.
If nothing else, the waves of chaos, war and revolution sweeping through Arab lands make clear that the Arab conflict with Israel is but a sideshow in the Arab experience of tyranny, fanaticism, hope and betrayal. So it says a lot about Obama, that eight months after the first rebellion broke in Tunisia, his sole Middle East policy involves attacking Israel.”

“WEST ALLIS - Witnesses tell Newsradio 620 WTMJ and TODAY’S TMJ4 of a mob of young people attacking innocent fair-goers at the end of the opening night of State Fair, with some callers claiming a racially-charged scene.
Milwaukee Police confirmed there were assaults outside the fair.
Witnesses’ accounts claim everything from dozens to hundreds of young black people beating white people as they left State Fair Thursday night.
Authorities have not given official estimates of the number of people involved in the attacks.
”It looked like they were just going after white guys, white people,” said Norb Roffers of Wind Lake in an interview with Newsradio 620 WTMJ. He left the State Fair Entrance near the corner of South 84th Street and West Schlinger Avenue in West Allis.
”They were attacking everybody for no reason whatsoever.”
“It was 100% racial,” claimed Eric, an Iraq war veteran from St. Francis who says young people beat on his car.
“I had a black couple on my right side, and these black kids were running in between all the cars, and they were pounding on my doors and trying to open up doors on my car, and they didn’t do one thing to this black couple that was in this car next to us. They just kept walking right past their car. They were looking in everybody’s windshield as they were running by, seeing who was white and who was black. Guarantee it.”
Eric, a war veteran, said that the scene he saw Thursday outside State Fair compares to what he saw in combat.
“That rated right up there with it. When I saw the amount of kids coming down the road, all I kept thinking was, ‘There’s not enough cops to handle this.’ There’s no way. It would have taken the National Guard to control the number of kids that were coming off the road. They were knocking people off their motorcycles.”
Another witness, who asked to remain anonymous, said, “it was like a scene you needed the National Guard to control.”
”To me, it looked like a scene out of a movie,” claimed the anonymous witness.
“I have not seen anything like this in my life. It was a huge mob, and it was a fight that maybe lasted one to two minutes.”
Roffers claimed that as he left the state fair with his wife, crowds near that entrance were large, and someone in that crowd . ”As we got closer to the street, we looked up the road, and we saw a quite a bit of commotion going on and there was a guy laying in the road, and nobody was even laying there. He wasn’t even moving. Finally a car pulled up. They stopped right next to the guy, and it looked like someone was going to help him. We were kind of stuck, because we couldn’t cross. Traffic was going through. Young black men running around, beating on people, and we were like ‘Let’s get the heck out of here.’ The light turned, and I got attacked from behind. I just got hit in the back of the head real hard. I’m like, ‘What the heck is going on here?’ I heard my bell ring.”
Roffers further described what witnesses said happened to the man who was lying in the street.
”People were saying he was on a bike. They tore him off his bike and beat on him. We were walking to the west on Schlinger. I was watching behind me a lot more diligently, making sure there wasn’t anybody coming to get us anymore.”
One person claimed that someone was knocked off a motorcycle.
TODAY’S TMJ4 video shows West Allis police handcuffing at least one person, but they won’t say how many people they took into custody.
Some witnesses described attacks on the State Fair Grounds as well.
Milwaukee Police said that their officers were sent to State Fair Park for “complaints of battery, fighting and property damage due to a large, unruly crowd.”
A police sergeant told TODAY’S TMJ4’s Melissa McCrady that the number of calls describing injuries are still coming in, so they could not give an accurate number of people who were injured.
That sergeant explained that some injuries were serious, and local hospitals were attending to the injured.
As of early Friday morning, Milwaukee Police said they had no one in custody.
One woman told police that she was sitting in her car with a window down when some teenagers reached through her window and started attacking her.
”I think once we get all the info in it’ll be just like that, like what happened in Riverwest,” said the police sergeant.
West Allis Police ask you to call them at 414-302-8000 if you have any information.
Eric: "I feared for my life."
Eric, who asked Newsradio 620 WTMJ not to use his last name, talked about the incidents that happened as he, his wife and a neighbor left the fair Thursday.
“We exited at the Schlinger and 84th exit, and we walked south about a block, and then went up and got our car, came back up and around down Schlinger. When we made a left hand turn, we were stopped in traffic. I looked toward the bridge, right before you get on the freeway, and all I saw was a road full of black kids, jumping over people’s cars, jumping on people’s hoods, running over the top of them.”
Eric then claimed that he saw hundreds of young black people coming down a sidewalk.
”I saw them grab this white kid who was probably 14 or 15 years old. They just flung him into the road. They just jumped on him and started beating him. They were kicking him. He was on the ground. A girl picked up a construction sign and pushed it over on top of him. They were just running by and kicking him in the face.”
Then, Eric talked about trying to get out of the car to help the victim.
”My wife pulled me back in because she didn’t want me to get hit. Thankfully, there was surprising a lady that was in the car in front of me that jumped out of the car real quick and went over there to try to put her body around the kid so they couldn’t see he was laying there and, obviously, defenseless. Her husband, or whoever was in the car, was screaming at her to get back into the car. She ended up going back into the car. These black kids grabbed this kid off the ground again, and pulled him up over the curb, onto the sidewalk and threw him into the bushes like he was a piece of garbage.”
Eric claimed that the victim in that beating was by himself, and that there was a split of white people on one sidewalk and black people on the other.
”There was nobody else around to help him. There were no other white people, period, on that side of the street. They were going in the opposite direction because, those people who were coming out of the fair that saw these people coming, they either went back into the fair or took off running south on 84th Street.”
Eric expressed anger at the State Fair Police for what he considered a lack of response.
”The thing that irritated me, the State Fair Police, the State Police, were down by the Pettit entrance to get in there,” said Eric. “There was probably 5 or 6 officers down there. That’s where all these kids came from. They came out of the Midway, across the front of the Pettit. They were still filing out of there. The State Fair Police, they knew this was going on. They knew these kids were beating these guys in between that exit and Schlinger at the next gate.”
”They were stopping traffic, and I said ‘What in the hell,’ excuse my language, ‘what are you guys doing directing traffic when there are 300, 400 black kids up the road beating the hell out of everybody, pushing people off of motorcycles?’ I was livid. I could not believe they were directing traffic.”
Fair worker: attacks not limited to outside fairgrounds.
A witness told WTMJ that as he worked in a kiosk at the State Fair Midway, he saw what he described as “a Riverwest type mob. Easily between 50 - 100 kids all under 18 and all African American. They were running around knocking people over (young kids and adults), looting the Midway games (stealing the prizes), starting fights.”
The witness, who asked not to be identified, couldn’t say for certain if only white people were being attacked.
”It was just complete chaos. There were police on horses, lots of security guards, and EMT’s on the scene. They never got control of the area.”
A State Fair spokeswoman said that there were arrests made involving the incidents on the grounds.
He said that as the violence happened, he was “getting ready to grab my cash register and run.”
”Not to mention this type of behavior started around 7pm and forced me to close down my stand at 9pm. It scared the paying customers out of the midway.”
The man said hoping to bring family on Friday, but has decided not to.
”I was planning on bringing my two kids to the fair tonight. I won’t be. We’ll go to the zoo instead.”
Woman: Teenagers in mob didn't attend rap concert.
One woman who asked not to be identified tells us that contrary to some belief, the young people involved in the mob did not go to the rap concert that night.
“The mob of black teenagers involved in the beatings and damage outside of State Fair last night were not there for the MC Hammer concert,” said the woman.
“I attended that concert with three of my friends last night and the crowd was mostly white and adult (as are my friends and I). Any kids there seemed to be with parents.”
She described what she saw as she left the fair.
“As we came through the exit we saw a white boy lying in the street, in the fetal position right by the traffic light, and coming towards us was tons and tons and black teens – there had to have been over a hundred – in the middle of 84thStreet and on the sidewalk headed south,” she said.
“Some who stopped to kick or punch him - or in the case of one girl drop kick him in the head - as they walked past. My friends and I started towards him to help him up and a black girl walked past telling us ‘ya’ll gonna get your ***** kicked’ repeatedly. As my friend stood in front of the boy trying to get him up one of the teens picked up a traffic cone, hit her in the back of the head and ran off. A car stopped, a white woman got out to try and help. Teens jumped onto the hood of the car and ran over it. She just kept saying ‘What is wrong with you!?’ “
The witness also told us that not every African-American teenager outside the fair grounds acted violent.
“We continued to move towards the parking lot, through even more black teenagers. Thankfully this part of the crowd was not violent.”
Roffers: “What in the hell’s going on there?”
Roffers described his emotions and reactions to the attacks outside the park. ”I turned around and looked, there was this black kid standing there laughing, thinking it’s funny. My wife’s like, ‘Let’s get out of here.’ It’s one of those things, you don’t expect it. Your reaction to it is, first of all, quite surprised, then you get so angry, it’s like, ‘What in the hell’s going on there? Why are these guys acting like such hoodlums? What are they picking on anybody for?’ We were just like cattle being herded out of the park, and they were picking and choosing who they wanted to beat on.”
He said his injuries were limited to a headache.
Roffers said the attack wouldn’t stop him from attending the State Fair.
”We will be going back,” said Roffers.
”It’s a family event for us. We get together with our family and we do stuff at the park to enjoy the fair. My biggest concern is that the State Fair Park Police and West Allis get their heads out of their butts and figure out how to do some security over there. This isn’t the first year State Fair has been going on. They should know what the heck they’ve got to do and where they’ve got to have people in place by now.”
He said that the fear spread beyond those who he believed were the target.
”There were a lot of people scared,” claimed Roffers.
”There were even some young black girls. They were screaming. They were running across the road. This one girl was like, ‘I don’t know how I’m going to get out of here. I’m all by myself.’ My wife heard her saying that. She said, ‘Walk with us. Stay with us and you’ll be OK.’ We told her we were going down the street. If she needed any assistance, we were just going down to our car. She needed to go quite a way.”
”There was this terror going on when you leave the place, you just wonder. Luckily, all the violence that was happening stayed right close by the park entrance. As we got a block away from the park, that’s when the cops started showing up.”
He said the lack of police and security presence will bring about his complaint up the various channels of State Fair and local police.

He said he would give a written complaint to the State Fair and put in a call to West Allis Police, but that’s not all.
”I will be contacting the State Fair Park Board and I’m going to chew on their butts a little bit about what happened.”
State Fair spokeswoman: “Unfortunate situation, hopefully an isolated situation.”
State Fair Director of Marketing and Communication Kathleen O’Leary told Newsradio 620 WTMJ’s “Wisconsin’s Morning News” that the incidents should not stop people from coming to the fair.
“Certainly, don’t change your plans,” said O’Leary. “Please understand that this is an unfortunate situation, hopefully an isolated situation.”
Though witnesses had reported incidents inside the fair, she said the problems were mainly outside the fairgrounds.
“Not so much inside,” claimed O’Leary.
“We had complete control inside of what was happening inside of our gates. It’s what spread into the neighborhoods.”
O’Leary also pointed out that the fair has “taken measures already with the bag checks, when you come into the fair,” but will increase authorities’ presence for the remaining days at the fair.
”We will be taking severe measures, significant measures. We are in task force already, circling back around, doing everything that we can to make sure the experience is enjoyable and that the safety is insured,” said O’Leary.
”They see the yellow security shirts. We have mounted police. We have bike police. We have our patrolling police. We have undercover police. That’s all because that’s exactly what we want. We want the safety measures intact at every turn.”

The following is a narrative taken from the Sept. 7, 2008 Sunday morning televised "Meet The Press' at 11:48:04 EST. The then Senator Obama was asked about his stance on the American Flag.
General Bill Ginn' USAF (ret.) asked Obama to explain WHY he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.
The General stated to Obama that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171...
During rendition of the national anthem, when the flag isdisplayed, all present (except those in uniform) are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Or, at the very least, "Stand and Face It".

“Whatever the rhetoric that preceded this week’s deal, the debt-ceiling debate was never really about the debt at all. It was about the terms on which the debate would continue. The “two different worldviews” that divide Washington, explains Eric Cantor, are too far apart for anything more than an armistice. Still, listening to the House majority leader—who says the deal is “not perfect” but “there were some achievements”—it’s remarkable that the two parties were able to agree even to its modest terms.
The “philosophical starting point” of today’s Democrats, as Mr. Cantor sees it, is that they “believe in a welfare state before they believe in capitalism. They promote economic programs of redistribution to close the gap of the disparity between the classes. That’s what they’re about: redistributive politics.” The Virginian’s contempt is obvious in his Tidewater drawl. “The assumption . . . is that there is some kind of perpetual engine of economic prosperity in America that is going to just continue. And therefore they are able to take from those who create and give to those who don’t. We just have a fundamentally different view.”
Mr. Cantor’s aggressive style has earned him the enmity of liberals and most of the D.C. press corps, though his larger offense is against their orthodoxy that a fiscal compromise must by definition include tax increases. Mr. Cantor, who holds the second most powerful post in the House after Speaker John Boehner, did more than any other figure to prevent “revenue” (that is, tax increases) from entering the final package.
Like Mr. Cantor, President Obama is also a man of deep and strong convictions, and perhaps that’s why they seem to dislike each other so much. Call it, to adapt Freud, the narcissism of big differences. Mr. Cantor cautions that he isn’t a “psychoanalyst”—before politics, he was a real-estate lawyer and small businessman—but he says, “It’s almost as if someone cannot have another opinion that is different from his. He becomes visibly agitated. . . . He does not like to be challenged on policy grounds.”
In a meeting with the Journal’s editorial board Wednesday, Mr. Cantor, 48, gives his side of one of his more infamous altercations with the president. In a mid-July Cabinet Room meeting, Mr. Cantor made a suggestion that Mr. Obama and other Democrats took as impertinent. “How dare I,” Mr. Cantor recalls of the liberal sentiment in the room. He was sitting between Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer, “and they were in absolute agreement that [the president] was such a saint for having endured all this.”
“No president has sat here like I have, in these kinds of meetings, with congressional leaders, in this detail,” Mr. Obama said in Mr. Cantor’s recollection, which Democrats dispute. Mr. Cantor says the president also invoked Ronald Reagan “to be a little patronizing of us, because he assumed that anything Reagan did we like.” Mr. Obama then told Mr. Cantor, “Eric, don’t call my bluff,” and walked out.”
The roots of the Obama-Cantor animosity date back at least to another memorable exchange in 2009, some three days after the inauguration. In a meeting with the president, Mr. Cantor—then the No. 2 Republican in the House—discussed the economic recovery plans that the post-2008 GOP remnant favored. “Elections have consequences,” the president responded, “and Eric, I won.” The White House promptly leaked the remark to the media.
Mr. Cantor went on to whip the GOP minority against the near-$1 trillion stimulus, and all 187 members ultimately voted against it, though at the time that was not a given. The unanimous opposition was a political coup for the canny, ambitious Mr. Cantor, who was elected to the House only in 2000. He holds the seat that James Madison once held, now Virginia’s seventh district that stretches from Richmond to the Blue Ridge Mountains.
After the GOP won in 2010, many of its 87 new members—one-third of the caucus—planned to block any increase in the debt ceiling, full stop.
It was only after concerted lobbying by Mr. Cantor, Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy and Budget Chairman Paul Ryan that they flipped to a debt-ceiling hike with conditions. “Most people who were elected this time feel they were elected to change the system,” Mr. Cantor says, with some understatement.
The debt talks began in earnest in May. Mr. Cantor principally spoke for the Republicans in talks with Vice President Joe Biden, which met two to three times a week for a month and a half, with daily “free and open communication” among staffers.
The talks “did make some progress” because the opposing sides agreed not to agree, says Mr. Cantor. The vice president and majority leader even established a rapport because they tried “not to get flared up over philosophical differences,” as Mr. Cantor puts it. “Throughout the weeks there was always the possibility that we would veer off into our own worldviews, but we really did try and say, all of us know we’ve got to cut some spending.”
“Nothing was agreed upon until everything was agreed upon,” but the group identified between $2 trillion and $2.3 trillion in savings. Major proposals included means-testing Medicare so that higher-income seniors paid more for benefits, revising the wraparound “medigap” policies that insulate patients from out-of-pocket costs, and changing the federal-state Medicaid payment formula. “It was those types of nibbling-around-the-edges entitlement reforms,” Mr. Cantor says.
Mr. Cantor’s insight was that no modus vivendi could be reached this year that would solve the fiscal crisis, so it was better to focus on “incremental wins with this president.” Even the $4 trillion “big deal” that Messrs. Obama and Boehner nearly closed in separate talks was too small to be worth the cost (though it may have raised the Medicare eligibility age and made technical changes to inflation measures to reduce the annual growth of Social Security checks). “None of those, none of those, really address the underlying problem,” Mr. Cantor says.
“We need transformation in those programs in order to sustain them.”
Mr. Cantor quit the talks in late June amid Democratic tax demands, which he considered non-negotiable. Their position, he says, was that “we can’t do this unless you Republicans are going to relent on revenues.” His truculence did not endear him to Washington—though of course no one likened Mr. Obama to a terrorist for similarly refusing to give on any part of his new health-care entitlement, which was not even in the vicinity of “the table.”
Somewhat surprisingly, Mr. Cantor was in fact prepared to bargain on about $20 billion in higher taxes on “the shiny balls of the millionaires, billionaires, jet owners and oil companies” that Mr. Obama so often mentioned in public. “If they wanted to be able to claim the win on that,” Mr. Cantor says, he wanted net revenue neutrality in return, by lowering the corporate income tax rate or perhaps enacting an even larger tax reform. In effect, he was calling Mr. Obama’s bluff on “cheap politics.”
In private, however, the debate always returned to the status of the top marginal rate for individuals earning over $200,000 and $250,000 for couples—aka the Bush tax cuts for people who do not own private aircraft. Mr. Cantor argued that some large portion of the income that flows through the top bracket comes from “pass-through entities”—that is, businesses—and “to me, that strikes at the core of what I believe should be the policy, and that is to provide incentives for entrepreneurs to grow.”
By contrast, he says, “Never was there ever an underlying economic argument” from Democrats. “It was all about social justice. Honestly, one of them said to me, ‘Some people just make too much money.’”
Mr. Cantor is “cautiously optimistic” about the deal, which creates a 12-member “super committee” to reduce the deficit by another $1.5 trillion in return for another debt-limit increase later this year. Apart from taxes, its parameters institute the principle that new borrowing must be offset by dollar-for-dollar spending cuts. And while “we may go through the fit and start again of some kind of big deal,” he thinks it will merely result in more incremental progress. “I just think that’s what’s doable given this almost intractable divide we’ve got with this president and where we are.”
Throughout the debt debate, many GOP freshmen and the tea party in general have found it difficult to accept the limited powers that come from controlling only one-half of one branch of government. Mr. Cantor acknowledges their “consternation, angst, anger and the rest leading to a deal like this” and says the party will continue to try to make “the jump” between “reality” and “rational, solid theory,” like a balanced budget amendment. But he welcomes the fervor and entertains no strategic or other regrets, except that “we were not able to get what we would consider a really good deal. . . . We didn’t get to where we wanted.”
Now that the debt debate is in abeyance, the House is “going to continue the focus on the impediments that continue to be erected by this administration to jobs and job growth.” Mr. Obama’s policies “are what are choking this economy,” Mr. Cantor argues, mentioning the stimulus, health care, the auto bailout, “unpredictable and onerous” regulators like the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Labor Relations Board, “the God-forsaken Dodd-Frank regime” and “a taxation system that is noncompetitive, to say the least.” He continues: “It doesn’t work for Washington to be granted this almighty power that somehow is going to cure all ills and right all the wrongs that they think exist.”
But since the GOP is “pit against a White House, a president and a party that just doesn’t share the same worldview,” Mr. Cantor says “the real fight is going to be making sure that President Obama doesn’t have a second term.” He describes the 2012 election as “a very existential question” that will determine “what it is that we’re about in this country and what kind of country we are and want to be.”
As for the 2012 Republican field, Mr. Cantor seems cautiously optimistic, but he hasn’t endorsed and doesn’t divulge a rooting interest. There’s “no question” that the campaign will turn on jobs, the economy and growth, or lack thereof, Mr. Cantor says. He suggests candidates argue that “Washington has become an impediment to the American way of life. That American way of life has to do with entrepreneurship, it has to do with everyone having a fair shot at equal opportunity. . . .
“They need to change Obama’s Washington, but it’s really a return to what we know is America. Obama ran as an agent of change, and I don’t know what that hope and change really was at this point. It’s turned out to be something a lot different than what most people thought. But yes, we need to change and take the country away from President Obama.”
A debate in that key was never going to be resolved in a matter of months over the debt ceiling.”

I'm not surprised by the recent U.S. credit rating downgrade. But that's not the issue here, only a symptom of very poor representation of the American people in Congress and the Executive Branch. We must understand clearly what is going on here in our country if we are to reverse this morbid trend. In this article, I will give some of what I know to be true.
The atheist communist party has infiltrated all our country's institutions.
First, we have to know the enemy who wages war against us. The Communist Party is a global political party whose main objective is to undermine and overthrow democracies all over the world along with their supporting Capitalist institutions, i.e., free market capitalism, businesses. It currently hides in the Democratic Party and to a lesser extent, the Republican as well. But instead of using the Bolshevik's method of mass violence as was used to overthrow Russia in 1917, they are using Leninism, the idea of incrementalism. Thus, instead of a sudden military invasion, they do it from within, gradually, imperceptibly, penetrating and undermining through corruption, subversion of Congress, redirecting and guiding the target country down a long road to eventual Communist dictatorship, which includes mass murder and genocide in the order of tens of millions. This is the method they have used on America at least since the 1900s. Many people know this intuitively but can't flesh-out the details. Remember, there in the details is where the Devil loves to play.
Communism is a proxy, front, or cover for a Satanic Cult at its core.
Second, the spirit at the heart of Communism is Satanic. It took me years of investigating Communistic methods to finally realize that beneath all the methods of deception and trickery characteristic of Communists, was atheism. Godlessness rules the heart of every Communist. That explains why the "President" lies constantly with no shame and why Congress makes their wrongheaded decisions which appear strange, psychotic, even bizaare. Communists HATE Christianity with a passion! (Remember, it was Lenin who said "Religion is the opiate of the masses.") It is Satan himself we are up against. Therefore, when we make wise decisions in our government, stick to them and cast votes with the full knowledge that it is actually Satan and his people who we are fighting with Godly positions and voting.
We must understand that the Communists have been waging an all-out war on America for decades: We have failed to recognize the true nature of our enemy.
So, since Communism is an atheist religion, it seeks naturally to want to destroy God. But since they know that is going to be very hard to accomplish, their war is targeted at the next best thing, God's people; Christianity, Capitalism, the Constitution, and just about every traditional western institution. They wage their attacks primarily through lies and deception, manipulation of our legal system and Judeo-Christian culture, Communist propaganda on television, the movies, newspapers and magazines, and indoctrination through public and even private education now. They have been feeding us an onslaught of lies for so long, most no longer realize we are constantly being deceived. The freshest attacks are those made by the awful decisions and excuses made by the majority of our cowardly and wicked governmental leaders about how much to reduce government spending and whether to raise the debt ceiling. It only takes a little common sense to know that one cannot simultaneously reduce spending by planning to increase it at the same time!
The bottom line is we must not be intimidated. We MUST have courage to follow through, not wavering.
In the beginning of our country, it was always about Christians building a civilization to glorify God. The same must be true now for it is still our war. We must have representatives who have the following:
1. First, our representatives must pray and draw near to our Father in heaven asking for strength to stand up to the fear, pressure, and intimidation that attempts to pressure us to give in to threats. We must be the people we were meant to be, to be set-apart, immune from the worldly temptations to compromise. We are to please God, not man.
2. Before voting, we must pray to know the right decision. We must gather together in groups to pray. Then, we must vote without fear and be strong enough (trusting God completely) to overcome the temptations to compromise that is the norm in Congress now. Remember that it is Satan who inspires, even demands our enemies to attack us. (I'm convinced that some among our enemy are actually demon possessed! Hitler and his immediate officers were Occultists.) If we stand totally firm, the enemy's mask will eventually come off for all to see. IF we prove absolutely resolute in our determination to vote the right way regardless, God will intervene on our behalf. Said another way, IF we remain faithful and obedient, God will go out in front of us! Before going into any "negotiations", for example, write down what Godly decision you will accept and never deviate from that position no matter how furious the opposition becomes! Satan will throw fits, but just stay calm and resolute. God doesn't want us to compromise our faith so why would we compromise with the devil?
3. We need the prayerful support and encouragement of fellow brothers and sisters. Throw off pride and selfishness now and call, write, or visit your Tea Party representatives to ask how they are doing and offer prayer and sympathetic companionship to them to help build them up for the next spiritual battle! Don't just think about doing it and then forget. When you think about contacting representatives to encourage them, just be obedient and show you have faith plus works, for faith without works is dead! (James 2:26)

From a life of abundance, now with only my 10 year-old Cougar, what I took with me in personal things, and $350 in cash, what I did not know was that the IRS told my wife to not sign the joint return I’d filled out. I left the form filled out, with my signature. My wife was to have signed it, and paid the tax we owed. Knowing I’d taken only $500 out of our bank account, my wife followed IRS instructions. She was to file a separate return, pay half of the tax we owed, and send the joint return in without her signature. It would be treated as my separate return. Instead of treating the joint return as a separate return and charging me half of the tax, the IRS treated the return as a joint return and charged me the full tax, plus penalty and interest.
I’d sold stock that was mine before we married. My wife was to have mailed me the check when it came. Instead, she forged my name on the check and cashed it.
On the Monday after Easter Sunday 1975--Easter, the first day of my new life--I found a job working in a boatyard. I rented an efficiency apartment and paid $200 up front, with the promise that in a few days I would pay the balance of rent and deposits. I didn’t know that $350 cash was it. I was not going to receive the check in payment for the stock I sold. Pay day was two weeks away.
I'm 36 years ahead of this particular moment of uncertainty for independent businesses. I had been the owner/operator of an independent lumber wholesale business. I bought from independent lumber mills and sold to retailers. The purpose for my wholesale lumber business was not only to search lumber mills for my customers’ needs, but to finance them. I borrowed large sums of money. My place in the market was eliminated, (1) by President Nixon’s price controls; (2) by double digit inflation and high interest rates. It is the same old thing over and over. The resourceful are being used,--government manipulation for the benefit of government and everyone else’s detriment.
I was forced to sell 15 acres of my land. Double digit inflation caused my land to sell for double what I paid for it. Although I made no profit in my business and no profit on the sale of my land, the government claimed I made a profit and charged me capital gains tax.
After my departure, while this pauper entrepreneur faced being put on the street, the not so rich government entitled received cost of living increases.
The IRS is always right, unless we taxpayers can prove them wrong. We taxpayers are guilty unless we can prove ourselves innocent in a government biased court. In 1975, I studied constitutional law in the county law library. I had a bigger than life calling. I sublimated my anger.
The IRS had called me a “Fifth Amendment freak.” They told me they knew how to deal with me. The IRS had sent me a tax assessment for the full 1975 tax. I had filed with the IRS a carry back loss form for prior year business loss. The IRS offered, illegally, to send my refund only if I would drop my petition to the Tax Court and pay their erroneous assessment out of my refund money. Because I refused, the IRS froze my refund. The IRS, expediently, is allowed to do such things “for the good of all.” At my tax court trial three years later, the IRS amended their erroneous assessment, no questions asked by the court; and, I’m not allowed to question anything but the mistake the IRS was alleged to have made. The tax court is not authorized to address constitutional issues. Nothing in the law says the IRS can’t make limitless mistakes, for the good of all. The individual counts for naught.
At the time of my departure, with unemployment high—down the street from my Miami apartment there was a mile long food stamp line—in that I was self-employed, I was not eligible for the government entitlement the United States grants the unemployed worker, for no particular reason. It took three phone calls to Miami boat yards to land a job. The pay was barely over the minimum pay government allows, but twenty percent of my meager wages was withheld for Uncle Sam, for no particular reason—just that it is the law. The press publishes screwball “tax protester” cases the IRS hands them.
For no particular reason, the IRS was playing games with this “tax protesting” pauper. My take-home pay did not leave me with enough to pay my rent. For the good of all, I was locked out of my apartment. For no discernable reason, the good of all means zero rights for the individual. You don’t hear this about raising revenue. You hear that anyone against a compassionate government is a terrorist.
I'm writing the story of my life. It will be published in January 2012. In my story, you will read why this "terrorist's"life is as good as it gets.
I am preparing a new criminal complaint against Obama and Peter Dreier. The Obama/Dreier complaint (I am hoping) will be much more extensive (versus the Obama/Holder complaint), and will be part criminal complaint and part commentary. As a basis, I hope to argue that Dreier's 1979 article ("The Case for Transitional Reform") that called for an exponential increase in entitlements to collapse the economy, and his subsequent (apparent) collusion with Obama (he was an advisor to Obama on urban affairs) and passage of Obamacare—the largest entitlement increase in U.S. history, is a basis for the charge of treason; in that the goal of collapsing the economy, is no different than an overt attempt to topple the government.
I also hope to comment on Dreier's call for a "public option," (pre-passage of Obamacare), which, really, is the ultimate goal of Obama. And this would include everything else being a “public option,” i.e., driving all capitalistic entities out of business, as one cannot compete with the government; it is ludicrous. It is like a child's lemonade stand trying to compete with a multinational chain of lemonade makers: which is interesting, for, as we have seen in the news, several kids' lemonade stands have been shut down. Can you imagine a Leave it to Beaver episode, where a little girl is selling lemonade so she can buy her dad a present for his birthday, and a police cruiser comes by and shuts her down? This country is becoming crazy. But in the complaint, I want to set up an extended analogy/metaphor, describing a child competing with a larger lemonade stand, in which the larger lemonade stand (run and financed by an adult) regulates, price fixes, inspects, etc. the child’s lemonade stand, showing that the so-called "competition" is rather a stealth tactic to put the child out of business. I also hope to argue against the Obamacare mandate, in which the Obama camp's argument is that because individuals not having insurance, and thus using emergency rooms for all ailments, tend to increase the cost of everyone else's insurance, thus effecting commerce, that this then authorizes the mandate, with the Commerce Clause as the basis thereof. I would like to argue that there is really no behavior, literally, that does not in some way affect pricing, however infinitesimally. For example, say a child goes on a school field trip to a farm, where she comes home with a single carrot seed embedded in the sole of her shoe. This seed falls off in the backyard, where it grows and becomes a carrot. When full grown, the mother places this carrot in a salad. Because she didn't have to buy a carrot that day at the market, the price of carrots are affected in a very small, infinitesimal way, not even calculable, but affecting it just the same. Now remember the argument of the healthcare mandate wasn't how much healthcare cost is increased due to emergency rooms being utilized by those without insurance, but that it simply is increased by this practice. So that a government worker sees this carrot, and “regulates” the carrot, the backyard, its consumption, or a host of other ways.
Now the healthcare mandate is a compulsion to buy something; a "dis"-compulsion, or forbidding of buying a product, could be supported by the same commerce-affecting argument: for example, it is found that individuals who eat more than ten fast food hamburgers a month tend to be obese. Obese people require more medical care, thus driving up healthcare costs. The government then mandates that Americans can buy no more than ten fast food hamburgers per month. In order to insure they comply, each person has to present their ID when purchasing hamburgers, and this information is fed into a database. If the individual attempts to buy an eleventh hamburger in one month, the fast food restaurant computer forbids the transaction. Meanwhile, fast food restaurants go bankrupt, because so few people are buying their product due to the onerous regulation. The government then finds that people are making hamburgers at home, "skirting" the system, and thus begins inspections of one's food supplies. Of course this seems Orwellian, but this is the logical end of the argument that whatever affects pricing can be "regulated" by the government under the Commerce Clause.
This is my plan for a future criminal complaint/commentary.
debate questions & answers: Where do you stand on off shore drilling? If it gets us out of foreign oil dependency i'm for It. where do you stand on entitlements? Only vets, elderly, disabled and children should be able to receive government assistance. Where do you stand on foreign policies. There is enough to fix here before we can worry about foreign anything. How would you address our current military situation. I would bring our men home to help rebuild and secure America. Where do you stand on raising income tax? Why not raise corporate tax. What would you do to improve the Economy? Raise foriegn taxes, promote US production by creating a build America Bond sold to Americans only, eliminate the Free Trade Act, cap malpratice compensation, Stop all aid to foreign countries, repeal the Health Care Act, close all duplicate agencies and require states do do the same.
