Nothing epitomizes the phrase, “boob bait for the masses” better than any assertion by government officials that this nation is genuinely committed to cracking down on illegal alien employees, or the employers who hire them. Koskinen’s above statement was his response to a question by Sen. Dan Coats (R-IN), who had discovered the IRS ignored evidence that illegal aliens were using fraudulent Social Security Numbers and that the IRS was continuing to process W-2s — and issue refunds to many of those illegals.
No doubt those who champion amnesty, often based on the notion that simply entering the country illegally shouldn’t be enough to warrant deportation, are equally sanguine when those same illegals commit forgery, Social Security fraud, identity theft, and perjury, even though those crimes are felonies.
Rampant numbers of felonies. According to the Social Security Administration, approximately 75%of illegal aliens have fraudulently obtained Social Security numbers (SSNs).
Moreover, the idea that these are victimless crimes is an abject lie. Since the vast majority of illegals purchase SSNs from fraudulent document dealers, chances are 50-50 a made up SNN actually belongs to an American or legal resident, including children. Even unborn Americans may end up victimized by being issued a number that has already been stolen.
As a result, legitimate SNN owners can have their credit history ruined, applications for Medicaid denied, medical records corrupted, jobs or student loans denied due to failed background checks, and liens for unpaid taxes issued, all arising from fraudulent or criminal behavior attached to SSNs used by illegals.
And government not only abides this wholesale criminality, it keeps Americans in the dark about it: an IRS Inspector General’s report released in 2016 revealed the agency knew that more than one million Americans had their SSNs stolen — but never bothered to tell the taxpayers themselves.
And SSN abuse is not the only scam perpetrated by illegals with the apparent blessing of the government. Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) are nine-digit tax-processing numbers assigned by the IRS to individuals obligated to file a federal tax return, but who lack, or are ineligible, for an SSN typically required to file taxes. As of last June, at least 2.4 million illegals had an ITIN, which they used in conjunction with a fraudulent SSN to file taxes. As The Washington Times revealed, a whopping 87% of forms filed online and more than half of forms filed by paper contained fraudulent numbers.
Americans might be forgiven for wondering why the use of an ITIN in conjunction with an SSN wouldn’t make it relatively easy for government to track down illegals and deport them. The answer is as simple as it is infuriating: Current law prohibits the IRS from communicating with the Department of Homeland Security. In other words, the agency who knows where the illegals are can’t tell the agency tasked with deporting them. And just as infuriating, Congress refuses to change the law.
Another equally pernicious fraud perpetrated by the feds is the promotion of E-Verify as a panacea for all that ails a nation rife with illegal alien employees. “If you are found to be breaking the law, you will be held accountable,” warned U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement director Tom Homan following ICE raids at several 7-Eleven stores around the nation earlier this month.
Not exactly. As columnist Tatiana Sanchez explains, “Questions have begun to resurface about the effectiveness of E-Verify, a 21-year-old electronic program designed to filter out undocumented immigrants who apply for jobs. Many Americans wonder how millions of them slip through the system.”
Sanchez tell us how, explaining the system is little more than “a political fig leaf, with so many significant flaws and loopholes that it allows employers to continue to knowingly hire undocumented workers with few repercussions.”
Why? According to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), which administers E-Verify, the system is used by more than 700,000 employers at more than 1.9 million hiring sites across the nation. Yet there are more than 18 million businesses currently in operation in the U.S. — meaning E-Verify is used by less than 4% of the nation’s employers.
The reasons for such a low participation rate? Despite the promises about crackdowns first made in the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act, E-Verify remains a voluntary program in most states, and only businesses with a history of hiring illegals are required to use it.
Moreover, Barack liar-nObama’s pro-amnesty administration had its proverbial thumb on the scale. In eight years, the highest number of annual ICE business audits was 3,127 firms, with most years’ audits coming in well below that total. Thus, the odds of getting audited were virtually non-existent.
Congress could make the system mandatory nationwide, but that idea is broadly opposed by legislators.
Why? Because members of Congress “know it will work,” asserts Rosemary Jenks, Director of Government Relations at NumbersUSA, an organization that advocates reducing illegal and legal immigration. She explains, Democrats “know it will discourage illegal immigration, which will discourage the push for the next amnesty,” and “establishment Republicans don’t want it because they know it will be effective and eliminate their cheap labor pools.”
Unsurprisingly, money is at the root of both parties’ machinations. “All of the money is behind mass immigration, and then, there’s the American people on the other side. That’s the problem we have had,” Jenks explains. “That’s why we haven’t controlled immigration in the last five decades.”
Haven’t controlled it? Blatantly encouraged is more like it. And no one made it clearer than an apparently semi-comatose U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions, whose failure to react to California AG Xavier Becerra’s threat to prosecute employers who comply with federal immigration law, is the epitome of surrender. California’s recently passed “Immigrant Worker Protection Act,” could engender fines as high as $10,000 on employers who volunteer to assist federal immigration authorities with an illegal employee crackdown.
Sessions should have insisted that any attempt to prosecute anyone under that secessionist-tinged statute would elicit obstruction of justice charges — against Becerra himself.
That he didn’t? Yet another indication among many that the globalist agenda of pretend crackdowns on American businesses — along with pretend border security — remains the order of the day, and that a reprise of the 1986 debacle, replete with the same phony promises, will ultimately prevail.
Once again, it will be sold as a “reasonable compromise,” with any resistance labeled as bigotry and nativism. And once again, in the not-too-distant future, it will likely precipitate the same exponential increase in illegal immigration the failure to enforce the 1986 law did. And once again, another subset of young illegals brought here “through no fault of their own” will demand amnesty.
Moreover, Americans should understand this orchestrated sellout of our sovereignty, language, customs and culture will occur as often as the “fundamental transformation of the United States of America” requires.
The globalist agenda demands nothing less.

Illegal alien rapes 7-year-old girl, gives her genital herpes: No Justice, No DACA (Pt. 1)
“The heinous rape by an illegal alien of an American child illustrates how far the Democrats, some Republicans and the pretend news media will go in hiding the complete identities of the perpetrators of violent crimes, especially if they come from — dare I say it? — the world’s ‘sh–tholes.’ This two part report highlights cases and reports that involve the enormous number of convicted criminals whose first crimes may have been immigration-related, but while they were in the U.S. they committed other violent offenses including murders, rapes, aggravated assaults and armed robberies. Does the United States have a shortage of homegrown criminals that must be helped by importing foreign criminals, terrorists and perverts? – Jim Kouri, Advisory Board for the National Association of Chiefs of Police.

Mexican national Huber Morales repeatedly raped a 7-year-old girl and gave her something of his to remember: Herpes.
An illegal immigrant Mexican man “repeatedly raped a seven-year-old girl and gave her genital herpes,” according to the Evansville, Indiana, Police Department.
Huber Morales, 24, allegedly admitted to his touching the child inappropriately three times and having sex with her on two occasions which included penetration of the child’s vagina.
Police officers began an intense investigation after the little girl was taken to the hospital earlier in January. Besides treatment for the sex crimes she was also treated for genital herpes.
Morales told Evansville police detectives that he was an “undocumented immigrant” from Mexico. He reportedly admitted to police he touched the 7-year-old girl and had sexual relations with her due to a “strong black magic” spell that was being used against him, the police arrest affidavit noted.
Morales was charged in court on Friday with “five counts of child molesting, two counts of level 1 felonies and three as level 4 felonies,” Courier & Press reported.
“This isn’t the first time cops have come across this scenario — child raped by illegal alien — but this case does bring up another problem for our nation: sexually-transmitted diseases or STDs,” said police detective Sharon Bellmore, an expert in sex crime investigation.
“You’ll see lots of young kids from Mexico and Latin America being supported by the majority of media organizations and liberal politicians, but you will probably never see a case on TV that shows a 7-year-old in the hospital after being raped by a bully who shouldn’t even be in the country in the first place,” Video https://conservativebase.com/illegal-alien-rapes-7-year-old-girl-gives-her-genital-herpes-no-justice-no-daca-pt-1/ Bellmore added.

{breitbart.com} ~ Vice President Mike Pence met with Jordan’s King Abdullah II in Amman, Jordan on Sunday and praised the U.S.-Jordan alliance. In particular, Pence applauded Jordan’s role in the campaign that defeated the Islamic State caliphate in Syria and Jordan.
Abdullah was less enthusiastic.
Sitting next to Pence, Abdullah reinstated his outspoken opposition to President Donald Trump’s December 6 announcement recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and committing the U.S. to moving its embassy to Jerusalem, in accordance with U.S. law.
Last month, Abdullah attacked Trump’s move and referred to it as “null and void.” In the weeks that followed Trump’s December 6 announcement, Abdullah went to Europe to lobby European governments to oppose the American move.
At least in part as a result of Abdullah’s lobbying efforts, U.S. allies like Britain and France were among the 178 nations, including Jordan, that voted on December 21 for the U.N. General Assembly resolution condemning America for recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Sitting with Pence Sunday, Abdullah said, “Today we have a major challenge to overcome, especially with some of the rising frustrations” in the wake of Trump’s move on Jerusalem.
He said the goal of Pence’s trip must be “to rebuild trust and confidence” in America’s commitment to establishing a Palestinian state.
The most notable aspect of Abdullah’s role in the campaign to castigate Trump’s policy towards Jerusalem is that he owes his regime’s survival to the U.S. and Israel.
The U.S. provides Jordan with more than $1.5 billion a year in military and civilian aid. The Trump administration has pledged to maintain aid levels in 2018.
As Jordan expert David Schenker noted in a briefing last September, Jordan is one of the poorest states in the Arab world. Only a quarter of its adult population is gainfully employed.
Israel ensures the regime’s survival by providing Jordan with water and natural gas.
There are more than 2,800 U.S. troops in Jordan. U.S. forces in Jordan use the kingdom as a base for anti-ISIS operations in Syria and Iraq. They are also tasked with protecting Abdullah’s regime.
Pence’s forbearance of Abdullah’s slights Sunday was in keeping with America’s consistent tolerance for Abdullah’s deeply problematic behavior.
On July 23, 2017, a Jordanian terrorist in Amman tried to stab Ziv Moyal, an Israeli embassy officer, with a screwdriver in Moyal’s apartment adjacent to the Israeli embassy compound. Moyal shot and killed his assailant. He also killed his landlord, who was present at the scene.
Moyal quickly sought refuge at the Israeli embassy. Within moments, all of Israel’s diplomats had converged there to avoid revenge attacks and to evacuate to Israel for safety.
Wild press reports claiming that Moyal had murdered two Jordanians in cold blood brought angry anti-Israel rioters into the streets. Protesters quickly surrounded the embassy compound, and effectively held Israel’s diplomats, including Israel’s ambassador to Jordan, Einat Schlein, hostage.
Under international law, Abdullah was obliged to protect the diplomats. But he refused, for nearly 24 hours.
A few days before the event, Muslim terrorists at the al-Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem murdered three Israeli policemen. Israel responded by installing metal detectors at the entrance to the mosques to make it more difficult for worshippers to smuggle weapons inside the mosques.
Jordan serves as the Islamic administrator of the mosques on the Temple Mount. Rather than support Israel’s move, Abdullah condemned it.
But with Israel’s diplomats in danger, the Trump administration cut a deal with Abdullah to save them. In exchange for an Israeli pledge to remove the metal detectors at the Temple Mount, Abdullah sent his military forces to the embassy to extract the diplomats and enable them to cross the border to Israel.
In other words, to save the lives of Israel’s diplomats, the Trump administration convinced Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to make concessions to Jordan, which directly benefited terrorists like the ones who murdered the Israeli police officers.
Israel hoped that once the mob had dispersed, Abdullah would allow its diplomats to return and resume normal operations at its embassy, in conformity with the terms of its peace treaty with Jordan. But Abdullah would have none of it.
Abdullah insisted first that Israel replace Ambassador Schlein. Netanyahu finally agreed to replace the senior diplomat in late November. But then Abdullah ratcheted up his demands.
He insisted that Moyal be tried for murder, and that Israel apologize for the incident and compensate the families of the Jordanian landlord and Moyal’s assailant.
Over the weekend, the Jordanian media reported that Israel had accepted its demands. Israel reportedly agreed to pay millions of dollars in restitution to the families and officially apologized.
Netanyahu clarified that the government had “expressed regret” for the lives lost. A government source said Moyal will not be tried for any crime. Israel confirmed that it transferred $5 million to the Jordanian government.
Netanyahu thanked President Trump’s senior adviser, Jared Kushner, and his chief negotiator, Jason Greenblatt, for closing the deal with Abdullah that will enable the Israeli embassy to reopen.
But Abdullah’s refusal to protect Israel’s diplomats was in line with his general support for anti-Israel terrorism.
In 2011, Israel freed more than a thousand convicted Palestinians terrorists to secure the freedom of Gilad Shalit, an Israeli army sergeant who had been held hostage by Hamas in Gaza for more than five years.
Among the terrorists Israel freed was Ahlam Tamimi.
Tamimi masterminded a suicide bombing at the Sbarro pizzeria in Jerusalem in August 2001. Fifteen were killed in the attack, and seven of the dead were young children. Tamimi specifically chose the pizzeria as the target of the bombing because it was a popular place for parents with small children during summer vacation.
Two of her victims were U.S. citizens. One of the 122 people wounded in the attack was an American woman who has been in a vegetative state ever since.
Following her release, Tamimi moved to Amman, where she received a royal welcome from Abdullah’s regime. She was also given a television show. On air, Tamimi routinely calls on her viewers to follow her example and murder Israelis.
In January 2017, the FBI placed Tamimi on its most wanted list. The Department of Justice formally requested her extradition to stand trial for the murder and maiming of U.S. citizens.
Jordan signed an extradition treaty with the US in 1995. Last March, Jordan rejected the U.S. request for Tamimi, claiming the treaty was unratified. The power to ratify treaties in Jordan belongs to the King.
So just in the past ten years, Abdullah has rejected a U.S. extradition request, and has lobbied the Europeans to condemn Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. He facilitated the siege of the Israeli embassy. He leveraged a hostage situation to undermine Israel’s counterterrorism efforts at Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. He extorted blood money from Israel.
Yet rather than stand up to Abdullah, the Trump administration gives him a pass for everything.
And it has been right to do so.
Because it has no better option.
According to a 2014 Pew survey, 85 percent of Jordanians are anti-American. A 2006 Pew study found that 100 percent of Jordanians are anti-Jewish.
Abdullah and his Hashemite tribe are a minority among Jordan’s Bedouin tribes. And the Bedouin as a whole are a minority in Jordan where, according to the Congressional Research Service, Palestinians make up 55 to 70 percent of the population.
If Abdullah is overthrown, there is little likelihood that a successor regime will be pro-American.
With Abdullah in power, the U.S. is able to project its power from Jordan throughout the Middle East and the Persian Gulf. If the Pentagon concludes that it is necessary to close down its Air Operations Headquarters at Udeid air base in Doha, Qatar, Jordan could serve as the site of a replacement base.
None of this would likely be the case under a different regime. The Muslim Brotherhood is the largest political force in Jordan outside the regime.
So despite his double-dealing, the U.S. is better off supporting Abdullah than abandoning him.
This dismal situation is even more frustrating when you consider that Abdullah is arguably America’s most stable Arab ally.
And that’s the essence of the problem. America’s alliances in the Arab world are with regimes, not with nations. During his tenure in office, George W. Bush tried to overturn the equation with his democracy agenda. The devastating results of his strategy are still haunting the region and the U.S.
So long as majorities reject the values of liberal democracies generally, and hate the U.S. specifically, there is little chance of America leading a democratization movement that will result in anything positive. Minority regimes may make unreliable allies. But popularly elected regimes that embrace bigotry and reject the U.S. and democratic values will reliably be enemies.
In Abdullah’s case, while his dependence on the U.S. ensures his loyalty, his regime is inherently weak because he lacks popular support. To avoid widespread unrest, Abdullah proclaims and occasionally adopts extremist positions against Israel and the US and in favor of terrorists.
Abdullah benefits twice from his hostile policies. On the one hand, he keeps his opponents at bay by satisfying their anti-Americanism and hatred of Israel. On the other hand, by encouraging the public to hate America and Israel, he makes it less likely that any pro-American alternatives to his regime will emerge that could reduce U.S. and Israeli dependence on him personally.
To modify his behavior, the U.S. can and should demand that Abdullah bar anti-American and antisemitic incitement in his state-owned media. He should be required to extradite Tamimi to the U.S. and run programming explaining why she is a terrorist, not a hero.
Such steps can begin to move back the dial of anti-Americanism and antisemitism in Jordan, if only minimally.
Over time, such basic steps may diminish Abdullah’s perceived need to buy off the mob at his gates with pro-terror policies and reduce America’s need to accept his double-dealing, as Pence was forced to do on Sunday in Amman.
While it might be tempting to believe the photo would have made an impact, in reality it probably would have made little difference. The fact is that even thoughliar- nObama did keep company with a long list of despicable characters — everyone from his pastor Jeremiah Wright to radical Left terrorist Bill Ayers — the mainstream media refused to dig into liar- nObama’s past connections. Rather, the MSM sought to protect liar-nObama, playing him up as a messianic figure. Therefore, the Farrakhan photo, while clearly bad optics, would have been quickly buried and ignored even if it was released a decade ago. ~The Patriot Post

In other words, Fein-stein has just declared that anyone who believes the FISA memo — a memo several Republican members of Congress describe as “alarming” and “disturbing” — should be released is essentially a puppet of Vladimir Putin, and that is quite simply asinine.
First off, the Russians didn’t start the #ReleaseTheMemo campaign; it was Republicans who first called for the release of this memo, written by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes. Secondly, was it not Fein-stein who mere weeks ago unilaterally released the entire closed-door testimony of Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson’s testimony regarding the dubious Trump dossier? At the time, Fein-stein argued that the American public had a right to know: “The American people deserve the opportunity to see what [Glenn Simpson] said and judge for themselves.” She further explained her rationale, asserting, “The innuendo and misinformation circulating about the transcript are part of a deeply troubling effort to undermine the investigation into potential collusion and obstruction of justice. The only way to set the record straight is to make the transcript public.” But now she’s singing a different tune.
Using Fein-stein’s logic, there currently is a lot of “innuendo” and probably “misinformation” flying around regarding exactly what the content of the FISA memo alleges. Why not release it to the public to “set the record straight”? Clearly, Fein-stein is engaging in political gamesmanship. When releasing the information plays well for her agenda, she pulls the “American people have a right to know” card, but when the information could prove damaging to her agenda, then the narrative is one of needing to “protect” the American people and its institutions from the Russians.
A free society must have a government committed to transparency in order to hold to account those who have been entrusted by citizens with the power to lead. Hiding potential corruption from the American public will cause greater distrust of government institutions and agencies than revealing the truth, no matter how ugly it may be. Therefore we in our humble shop unequivocally call for the public release of the FISA memo. ~The Patriot Post

{chrisskates.com} ~ It happened again today in Western Kentucky. Once again we have been shaken to our core by just how fallen this fallen world is. No matter how many times we are confronted by an up close and personal outworking of evil, we are jarred by it. I pray to God that we never get used to it.
Western Kentucky is home to me. I wasn’t born there, but I raised a family there. I spent 23 years there, longer than I ever lived anywhere in my life. I love the place and its people. My son graduated from Marshall County High, he loved his time there. The people are good, the families love deeply, I would describe the region as one of the most beautiful I have ever lived in and I have lived lots of places.
So it’s impossible to put into words why this wonderful place must suffer these atrocities. Tragically, it isn’t only shootings this community and the region has endured. They’ve experienced other tragedies that are equally breathtaking, but it seems disrespectful of the victims and their families to list them here. Those who live there know what I’m talking about.
As a Christian I feel a sense of responsibility. I feel as if I must come up with some theological explanation or words of comfort that are big enough and deep enough to offset the hurt. But at 54 I’ve finally learned that there are no such words. Not now. Not this soon after.
There is an overarching truth however, and I cling to that. No, its more than that. I base the entirety of my life upon it. Namely, that Christ is on his throne, and he will come again someday and set everything to right.
“Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Revelations 21:3-5
Love wins. No matter how many times these horrid things happen, that’s not just an abstraction or some pie in the sky hippie phrase or wishful thinking. It is as Schaffer called it, True truth. Love does win. In the coming days it will win in Marshall County and in the coming age it will win all.
I dare not compare anything in my experience to the pain these families are feeling tonight, but I’ve seen it. I was a small boy when I saw the face of evil, up close, personal. I experienced it again a few years later and I still have the scars to prove it. But it was only a few weeks after that, at a Christian concert that Jesus Christ rode into my life on a white horse. He drove the hurt and pain away and he’s never left me nor forsaken me since that time. Everything’s not been perfect but I’ve never been alone in the valley. Love wins. Over time and applied liberally enough, it will win in Marshall County and in time it will win the world.
Beyond that, there is no logical explanation. We needn’t look for one. Evil is illogical. It is senseless. I look forward with great anticipation to its defeat.
{islamist-watch.org} ~ On January 1, President Trump tweeted that Pakistan gives "safe haven to the terrorists."... The State Department subsequently suspended over a billion dollars of security assistance and military funding to the country. The suspension of this aid is both welcome and long overdue. For decades, elements within Pakistan's government have openly supported America's most virulent enemies, including funding and training the Afghani Taliban and sheltering Osama bin Laden. Today, the country continues to provide support and sanctuary for the perpetrators of terrorist attacks against the U.S. and its allies. But if the Trump administration is determined to cripple Pakistan's support for Islamist terror, it cannot limit its focus to South Asia; it must also confront Pakistan's Islamist proxies in the U.S. One of the most important Islamist networks running America's Muslim communities today is Jamaat-e-Islami (JI). Founded in British India in 1941 by the prominent Islamist theorist Abul Ala Maududi, JI maintains branches in dozens of countries across the globe. In 1971, JI terrorists helped Pakistani forces murder hundreds of thousands of Bangladeshis fighting for freedom from Pakistani rule. In the decades since, JI has been complicit in violence across the subcontinent. As a result, the U.S. government has designated the head of JI's paramilitary wing in Pakistan and Kashmir, Syed Salahuddin, as a "global terrorist."... http://www.islamist-watch.org/28352/pakistani-islamism-flourishes-in-america?utm_source=Middle+East+Forum&utm_campaign=7bb68554f2-westrop_iw_2018_01_24&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_086cfd423c-7bb68554f2-33703665&goal=0_086cfd423c-7bb68554f2-33703665
{jewishworldreview.com} ~ The government shutdown is over. Democrats finally realized that closing the government over illegal immigration was a losing political battle. They created a needless crisis and got rolled. So who is to blame for their current predicament? Along with Charles clown-Schumer and Nancy Pulosi, Democrats can put the blame squarely on the man who could have legalized the "dreamers" when he had the chance: Barack liar-nObama.
During his 2008 campaign, liar-nObama promised in a conversation with Univision anchor Jorge Ramos to make passing immigration reform one of his first legislative priorities, and even set a timetable. "I cannot guarantee that it is going to be in the first 100 days," he said. "But what I can guarantee is that we will have in the first year an immigration bill that I strongly support and that I'm promoting. And I want to move that forward as quickly as possible."
If he had wanted to act, he could have. liar-nObama's party controlled the House, and Democrats had a 60-vote filibuster-proof majority. If liar-nObama really wanted to pass either the Dream Act or comprehensive immigration reform, Republicans were powerless to stop him. But he didn't do it.
In a 2012 interview, Ramos called liar-nObama on it. "At the beginning of your governing, you had control of both chambers of Congress, and yet you did not introduce immigration reform. And before I continue, I want for you to acknowledge that you did not keep your promise." liar-nObama objected that he had made his promise "before the economy was on the verge of collapse. . . . And so my first priority was making sure that we prevented us from going into a Great Depression." Ramos was having none of it. "It was a promise, Mr. President. . . . And a promise is a promise. And with all due respect, you didn't keep that promise."
liar-nObama's excuse was weak. In the midst of dealing with the economic crisis, he championed liar-nObamacare and got other legislation passed. If passing immigration reform had been a real priority, he could have done it. And if he had, there would be no immigration impasse today.
Of course, liar-nObama was not alone in failing to act. Who was in charge of the issue on Capitol Hill? On the Senate side, none other than clown-Schumer, D-N.Y. In 2009, clown-Schumer succeeded Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., as chairman of the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on immigration. In that role, the New York Times reported, "Mr. clown-Schumer would take the point in pushing for passage of a new bill." But clown-Schumer didn't push.
Neither did Pulosi, D-Calif., who was speaker of the House at the time and had the power to bring immigration legislation to the floor at will. And liar-nObama also did not push because, according to the Times, the president "does not intend to get out in front of any proposal until there is a strong bipartisan commitment to pass it."
Funny, he did not wait for a "strong bipartisan commitment" before pushing liar-nObamacare. But apparently immigration was not a priority.
By the time liar-nObama got around to immigration legislation, Republicans had retaken the House. After failing to act when he had the votes, in 2012 liar-nObama announced he would implement Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, an unlawful executive action to effectively legalize the presence of illegal immigrants who had arrived in the United States as children. The Post's editorial board correctly called it an "unprecedented" move that "flies in the face of congressional intent," adding that "Republicans' failure to address immigration . . . does not justify Mr. liar-nObama's massive unilateral act." Even "Saturday Night Live" skewered liar-nObama's executive action.
President Trump was right to reverse liar-nObama's unconstitutional decision. He had no choice. He also said at the time he supported letting DACA recipients stay, set a deadline of March 5 for a legislative solution and added that he would be willing to give Congress even more time if necessary. "Congress now has 6 months to legalize DACA," Trump tweeted on Sept. 5. "If they can't, I will revisit the issue!"
In other words, there was no crisis for DACA recipients. This was, as liar-nObama said when Republicans shut down the government in 2013, a "manufactured crisis" - one that liar-nObama helped manufacture with his broken immigration promises. For once, Democrats were the ones making unreasonable demands. And now Democrats will have to pay the political price. If they don't like it, they can only blame themselves and liar-nObama.
Chicken Little Democrats claimed tax cuts — specifically cutting the corporate tax rate from 35% to 21% — would be a disaster for the American worker, but reality begs to differ. Following the passage of the GOP tax cuts, more than 200 American corporations have given or announced wage increases and bonuses of between $1,000 and $2,500 for their workers.
Walmart — the epitome of capitalistic evil to American progressives — announced it is investing a portion of its tax savings into a wage increase for employees, raising its corporate minimum wage to $11/hour, more than 52% higher than the federal minimum wage. Dozens of other corporations have announced they are expanding and creating new jobs due to the tax cuts.
Maybe nowhere are the effects of the tax cuts more noteworthy than with Apple, the proudly “liberal,” Donald Trump-hating corporation adored for its “wokeness” by idealistic progressives nationwide. Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, announced that, due to the lower corporate tax rate, Apple is repatriating $250 BILLION dollars into the U.S. economy, in the process paying a $38 billion tax bill. Additionally, Apple is handing out $2,500 in stock grants to employees, and is investing an additional $350 billion in the U.S., creating 20,000 new jobs.
This economic windfall for American workers is what Pulosi calls “pathetic,” “insignificant” and “crumbs.”
To be fair, the tax bill is a disaster for progressive Democrats, who rely on suffering and envy to stay in power. Democrats need people to be dependent on government, and the tax bill is an incredible catalyst for economic prosperity, making Americans masters of their own fate, which is horrible for Democrats.
Multiple articles this week, including one from The New York Times, dismiss any correlation between the tax cuts and the bonuses and raises. Of course, one might ask why these bonuses and raises never materialized during the Barack liar-nObama years, and only came to pass after a year of Trump’s pro-growth, pro-business, regulation-slashing agenda.
NYT writer Jim Tankersleyjan grouses that the majority of the corporate tax savings are being invested in capital upgrades, or higher dividend payments to shareholders, rather than directly going to rank-and-file workers. Apparently, Tankersleyjan doesn’t understand that higher dividend payments increase stock values. You know who holds huge quantities of stock, and will benefit from higher stock prices? Tens of millions of American workers with 401(k) retirement accounts.
He also seems ignorant of the fact that capital investments drive increased productivity, which in turn drives higher wages. Though this process is not instantaneous, the fact that workers ultimately see the majority of the benefits from a tax cut is historically proven.
Maybe the greatest irony is that, with his last line, the author proves what every conservative has argued for decades; namely, that it is competition that drives economic gains, not redistribution. Tankersleyjan writes that workers may see wage increases coming soon, but if they do, it is “Not because companies are dying to share their tax spoils with workers. But because they have to, or those workers will take a job with another company that will.” Yes! Exactly so!
Though envious, high-tax, socialist redistributionists constantly attack the so-called “trickle down” theory of economic growth, no such school of thought exists. That moniker was a pejorative used to attack Ronald Reagan’s supply-side economic policies, which sought to stimulate business growth through lower corporate and capital gains taxes and reduced regulation. Job and wage growth was a beneficial and predictable result.
In other words, the American worker wins either way in a low-tax environment. Even if every corporation is not a Hobby Lobby (operating on Christian principles, paying a minimum $10/hour as a moral imperative), low corporate taxes lead to business growth. Business growth drives job creation. Job creation reduces available labor, which creates competition for that labor, which drives up wages.
So even if a CEO is the most heartless, greedy jerk on Earth, in a pro-growth business climate he is forced to increase wages to compete for labor. And that is a good thing.
For the leftists who dispute this, a question: If you say higher taxes on labor and capital have no negative impact on job and wage growth, then please explain why you support huge taxes on cigarettes and sugary drinks, with the stated goal of reducing their consumption. Corporations have fixed costs, and when you raise those costs they are forced to either raise prices and lose customers, or slash costs and hire fewer workers. High taxes hurt the very people leftists claim to be helping.
History proves this empirically. Higher tax rates resulted in higher unemployment and lower tax revenues. Lower taxes led to an economic boom, with the end result that the rich paid a lower rate, but higher total taxes and a greater proportion of all taxes.
Keep that in mind the next time progressive Democrat politicians and Leftmedia talkingheads repeatedly make utter fools of themselves, like they did by claiming the average worker would see no benefits from the GOP’s tax cuts. ~The Patriot Post

I have to admit I was wrong; Donald Trump has turned out to be a far better President than I expected. Our economy is booming, international adversaries respect us, he stands behind Israel as no other President has, and he is the first President in our history to stand up to the Democrats; he faced them down. I believe he is already a far greater President than Reagan was.
That does not mean we're out of the water. The DemonCrats are in overdrive, securing voting rights for illegal aliens, brainwashing college students, every dirty trick none of us have even imagined yet. The few decent people in our government are hopefully aware of all this.
It's far from over.

For the purpose of understanding, to any extent one can understand liberal thinking, you’ll need to know what, exactly, a bot is before you proceed through this article, and outside of computer techno-geeks who rarely, if ever venture out of their parent’s basements to bore people with droning techno-babble…let me explain.
A bot is…“a device or piece of software that can execute commands, reply to messages, or perform routine tasks, as online searches, either automatically or with minimal human intervention,” and should not be confused with a living, breathing computer techno-geek.
My apologies to the scant few computer techno-geeks that actually have a life, do get out of their parents basements and, from time to time, bake brownies and babysit their niece.
Yes…I do know one such computer techno-geek…but that’s beside the point.
The point is…
ALLOWING DACA, CHAIN AND LOTTERY MIGRATION WILL DESTROY THE GOP AND TRUMPS PRESIDENCY FOR EVER !

DACA RECIPIENTS DRAPED IN MEXICAN FLAGS BURN THE AMERICAN FLAG YET WANT AMNESTY???
Scrapping the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) was one of Trump’s campaign promises although congressional Republicans and many members of the business community caution against such a move. An open letter to Trump from over 300 state and local chambers of commerce last October pointed out that NAFTA is responsible for 14 million jobs and $3.3 billion in trade on a daily basis.
The auto industry alone could face the loss of over 50,000 jobs if the U.S. were to walk away from NAFTA. As it stands now, U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer wants to tighten the rules of origin provision for autos, requiring that cars crossing the borders duty-free be 85% NAFTA made, up from the current 62.5%. He also wants to add a clause that requires these cars to be 50% U.S. made. Neither Mexico nor Canada are likely to agree to this change, which is likely a Trump-style “overreaching” negotiating chip.
Agriculture is another area that could be hard hit by a U.S. withdrawal from NAFTA. Farm products sent to Mexico and Canada have quadrupled since the beginning of NAFTA, and they currently account for a third of all U.S. farm exports. Leaving the agreement would bring a sharp rise in duties on American poultry and wheat, among other items. Farmers in states like Michigan, Missouri, Wisconsin and Indiana would be hard hit.
These states were key to Trump’s 2016 victory, and they will figure large in the 2018 midterms. Republican lawmakers from these states reminded Trump of this fact in the days leading up to the Montreal talks.
Trump makes the case that NAFTA has had a negative impact on America’s manufacturing sector, which has not grown as fast as the services sector since the agreement went into effect. So, while Lighthizer’s proposal to tighten the rules of origin provision might be considered extreme, manufacturing may need to be addressed — though with a caveat: U.S. manufacturing production has doubled since before NAFTA and is at a near-record high, albeit with fewer workers.
Technology is another area that needs to be addressed. Internet commerce didn’t even exist when NAFTA first went into effect, but now America’s most valuable companies are tech giants such as Apple, Facebook and others. Intellectual property and digital commerce will now need to be part of the conversation.
The American economy has grown significantly under Trump, but much of that progress could be undone by walking away from NAFTA or by altering it too much. Uncertainty about how the negotiations will shake out could also unsettle American markets. This is why the idea of adding a five-year sunset provision to NAFTA as proposed by Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross was not well received. Such a move would keep NAFTA in a perpetual state of negotiation, making it difficult for U.S. businesses to make long-term plans based on predictable and established rules. ~The Patriot Post

I Just Signed Your Death Warrant
The Mueller team reportedly is looking into Trump’s firing of both former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn and former FBI Director James Comey in order to ascertain if there is a “pattern” of obstructionist behavior. However, if Mueller is intent on investigating obstruction, he’s barking up the wrong tree. What was the actual crime for which Trump is being investigated? So far there’s nothing beyond innuendoes, much of which were based on the dubious opposition research “dossier” created by Fusion GPS and funded by liar-Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
It was liar-Hillary who actually did break the law and who was “investigated” by the FBI. We hedge that word because all indications are the FBI had been indirectly, if not directly, instructed to let her off the hook. This is where the real investigation into obstruction should be focused. liar-Clinton’s illegal email setup was known by Barack liar-nObama, who corresponded with her at her private address using a pseudonym himself. If she had been charged, it would have pulled him into the investigation, implicating him for likewise being “grossly negligent” in handling classified material. He had to prevent that from occurring, ergo the public declarations that he was confident liar-Clinton would be cleared. Meanwhile, his Attorney General Loretta Lynch was behind the scenes making sure the FBI’s findings agreed with liar-nObama’s public statements. As we have learned, months before liar-Hillary sat for the FBI interview, she knew she was in the clear. She had no fears of incriminating herself because she knew the fix was in — and that liar-Obama was the fixer.
Trump is facing a deck that is stacked against him. If he pleads his Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination and refuses the Mueller interview, the Leftmedia will scream that it’s evidence of his obstruction. If he takes the interview, unlike liar-Hillary, he risks being caught in a lie, no matter how insignificant, hence the perjury and obstruction trap.
With the recent revelations of a “secret society” within liar-nObama’s Justice Department and the FBI, coupled with the all-too-convenient loss of months of text messages between key FBI officials and the aforementioned investigation fixing, this deep state corruption is starting to look more and more like Watergate on steroids. ~The Patriot Post

{townhall.com} ~ If we don't like what is happening in Washington -- and few do -- the blame must be placed squarely where it belongs. It is "we the people" who send these people here.
We send people of different and often opposing viewpoints to Washington and expect them to get along. Many quickly turn opportunities to represent us into opportunities to represent themselves. They become careerists, statists and hypocrites, first supporting one cause or policy when it suits them and then with whiplash intensity turning around and supporting its opposite when it is politically expedient. It is why my favorite lecture circuit laugh line is "I'm happy to be here tonight from Washington, D.C., where the only politicians with convictions are in prison."
Is that too cynical? Perhaps. There are a few good men and women in Washington, but they are often overtaken by the swamp, which is more like quicksand, dragging everyone down. If re-election and fundraising become primary goals rather than promotion of the general welfare, everything else becomes secondary.
The greatest frustration for voters comes from knowing how a problem can be solved, but then witnessing politicians refusing to solve it because they prefer to retain the issue as a weapon in the next election, and the one after that.
Perhaps a cynic would say that the refusal by Senate Democrats to pass a continuing resolution last week, much less a budget, is a device to turn attention from the great economic successes attributed by many to the Trump administration. But it is not cynical when one has observed how the "game" is played here. And to many it is a game, which serves only those who are playing it, not the rest of us.
The appeals to the "base" on the left and right rob the nation of a real debate on issues and an eventual resolution that benefits the majority. Is gaining and holding political power by a handful of politicians worth the sacrifice of faith in our government? And is this government, whether headed by Democrats or Republicans, what the Founders had in mind? Any high school history student, if taught the facts, must conclude it is not.
The Founders wanted limited government so that the people could be unlimited in pursuing their aspirations, consistent with their abilities and desire to take reasonable risks. What passes for government and governing today is a sham, a ruse, an embarrassment to their intentions and to ourselves, if we could be embarrassed about much these days. Even China mocks our dysfunction.
Hypocrisy is practiced by both parties and is the exclusive property of neither one. Republicans are now quoting Democrats, who spoke out against a government shutdown when it was politically advantageous and who now are for it. Democrats have their own list of quotes about Republicans.
The only benefit from this, if one can call it a benefit, is that Republicans are at last fighting back. During previous threats to shut down government, Republicans have cowered and allowed Democrats and the media to blame them. It's nice to see them refusing unconditional surrender this time.
There must be a better way. There is, but the public must demand it. Given the divisions in the country, which are reflected in the Congress, don't look for that to happen anytime soon.
This is why we need term limits. Meantime, here's one idea: shut Congress down and don't pay them until they start behaving like adults and serve American citizens first.
If we don’t get to the bottom of this we’re in a hell of a lot of trouble!” -Mark Levin on “silent coup” against Trump
Mark Levin has published an 8-minute clip from his LevinTV show tonight, which he says will be available for free, where he discusses the FBI missing texts, the Obama/Clinton/Russia collusion and how the silent coup against Trump is escalating.
Levin discusses how he’s never seen anything like this happen before and at the end of the video he puts it plainly, saying that if we don’t get to the bottom of this, we’re going to be in a hell of a lot of trouble.
Watch:
It’s worth pointing out that Erick Erickson echoes a similar sentiment to what Levin is saying here in a post he wrote this morning:
But the reality is this: if FBI agents collaborated to fabricate or exaggerate allegations about Donald Trump and/or tried to bring down his Presidency through partisan motivations, it is game over on the republic. If the civil institutions we have put in place to ensure law and order apart from politics are infiltrated by politics, there really is no turning back.
This is exactly why Levin says we must get to the bottom of this. The future of the country depends on it. We don’t want to become a banana republic.
It isn't Islamophobia when they really ARE trying to kill you
New Jersey public school teaches “Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is the last & final Messenger of God”
We have seen this all over the country, and in every case, the school officials insist that the school is simply teaching the tenets of Islam, not proselytizing for them. But it is noteworthy that public schools never seem to teach, say, that “Jesus is the Son of God and Savior of the world” without qualification. Whenever public schools teach about Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, etc., they are careful not to teach what adherents believe as established fact. But when it comes to Islam, its tenets are being taught as established fact in public schools all over the country. There should be a federal investigation of this phenomenon, but of course, there probably will not be.
“Mom Says NJ School Assignment Recruited for Islam,” by Nick Rummell, Courthouse News Service, January 24, 2018:
NEWARK, N.J. (CN) – A New Jersey middle school that caught flak last year for requiring students to watch videos on Islam was hit Tuesday with a federal complaint.
Represented by the Thomas More Law Center, parent Libby Hilsenrath says a teacher assigned her 12-year-old’s seventh-grade class at Chatham Middle School to watch two videos at home with proselytizing messages.
The first video, “Intro to Islam,” is set to a musical version of a poem that describes “Christians and Jews as ‘infidels’ and prais[es] Muhammad in gruesome detail for slaughtering them,” according to the complaint.
Calling it a “conversion video,” Hilsenrath says the 5-minute assignment was “replete with biased, chastising statements encouraging the students … to follow the Quran and become Muslim.”
“Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is the last & final Messenger of God,” one such unqualified message in the video states.
In addition to presenting the religious teachings of Islam as facts, Hilsenrath says the video includes a link where students can download “Qaseedah Burdah,” the song with references to killing infidels.
Hilsenrath notes that the second video, an explanation of the five pillars of Islam, is a cartoon where a Muslim child explains the tenants of Islam to his non-Muslim friend, then ends with both boys walking off to “learn how to pray.”
“Due to the fact that these doctrinal messages calling for conversion to Islam were included in video format with vivid images and text, they possess greater communicative impact and are more likely to be accepted by the students viewing them than information that is spoken in a classroom or even written in a book,” the complaint states.
A worksheet component of the assignment meanwhile focused on the shahada, what Hilsenrath calls “the Islamic conversion creed and prayer.”
“Clearly, seventh graders were given a sugarcoated, false depiction of Islam,” the Thomas More Law Center said in a statement. “They were not informed of the kidnappings, beheadings, slave-trading, massacres, and persecution of non-Muslims, nor of the repression of women — all done in the name of Islam.”
Richard Thompson, president and chief counsel of the law center, issued a statement as well. “After watching this video, I can’t imagine any reasonable person saying this is not Islamic indoctrination,” he said.
Questioning why the curriculum for the Middle East and North Africa unit left out other religions, the complaint notes that “there are approximately 16 million Christians in the Middle East and approximately 6.4 million Jews living in the Middle East.”
Likewise the religious beliefs of Christianity are not covered in the unit on Latin America, a region that is 88 percent Christian, and Eastern religions are not covered in the unit on Southeast Asia, according to the complaint.
“Defendants assailed the First Amendment … by forcing children to endure the promotion of Islam in their public schools, including an explicit and direct call to the children for conversion to the religion of Islam,” the complaint states.
Hilsenrath says she and another parent emailed their concerns to school officials in early 2017. Fox News invited them to appear on Tucker Carlson’s show that February. The pair joined many other parents at a packed March 2017 open meeting of the Chatham school board.
School officials defended the curriculum at the meeting, saying it met the state requirements and that it was untrue that Islam was the only religion taught to seventh graders.
But Hilsenrath says the school’s conduct betrays hostility toward Christians. When confronted about the curriculum in January 2017, according to the complaint, Chatham’s social studies department chair sent an email where he linked to what he called a “priceless” clip from TV’s “The West Wing.” In the scene, the president character mocks a fundamentalist Christian about various tenants of the Old Testament, such as its endorsement of slavery….
German journalist: “Like many other women in Germany, I no longer feel safe”
( This what the Socialist Democrats want for our women)
Principles for a FREE SOCIETY
William Finley
Are we diverse enough yet?
“Interview with a German journalist: ‘Like many other women in Germany, I no longer feel safe,’” Voice of Europe, January 24, 2018:
We interviewed German journalist and model Anabel Schunke. She studied political science and history and is one of Germany’s most well-known criticasters of the country’s migration policy. This interview is part one of two. Anabel is active on Twitter and Facebook
How did the admission of so many migrants change your country?
Germany is no longer the same country compared with before 2015. There’s now only one topic: The migration crisis. Of course this is also connected with the discussion about Islam and its “excesses” that we have been experiencing for years in this country through Muslim migrants and those that will come in the future.
This leads to a fatal consequence: We are no longer talking about topics appropriate for a civilised Western society. For example, I’m watching the news and see a report on China and the latest technical and digital innovations which they want to compete with Silicon Valley, and so on.
Meanwhile, in Germany we are discussing wearing headscarves, banning pork in canteens, and Islamic studies in schools. We are clearly missing out on the connection to the top of the world and let us drag ourselves from the migration of mostly deeply backward Islamic countries into the abyss. This should not be allowed by a country whose resources are education, German diligence, recognition abroad and the technical innovations of companies like Siemens.
For Germany, migration is an absolute “backward business”. It divides the country; it shifts the social discourse of the future into the medieval past. The question is no longer: How do we want to live here as Germans in the future and defend our position in the world, but how can we make it as comfortable as possible for Muslims in the name of tolerance? Not to mention the daily attacks, the increase of violent and sexual offenses.
According to German media there were fewer women on the streets of Hamburg during NYE. Is that an effect of migrant (sex) crimes?
Of course, that is an immediate effect of the massive increase in sexual offenses against German women. You know, after each terrorist attack, a mantra is repeated that we will not let our way of life be taken away from us, that we should not be afraid.
The truth is that the majority of the population does not want to admit that they are afraid and that they don’t do certain things out of fear. The fear of being called a racist is still greater than admitting that you are avoiding these people and certain events.
It’s the same with terror and the massive sexual assaults since 2015 by migrants. You read the news and, especially for us women, the many reports about violent and sexual offenses have a certain influence. More and more women have unpleasant experiences with male migrants. You have to imagine that, according to statistics, of the over 1.5 million migrants 80% are men. During a walk in the city, it doesn’t matter where or when, you will encounter them.
The effects of immigration are now shaping many cityscapes. Almost every woman now experiences how different the looks at them are and the feelings that result from it. It’s like being a piece of cattle.
In addition, there are actual attacks. Of course, there have always been rapes in every country, but the quality and quantity of the attacks have changed completely. It makes no difference to the victim whether she is raped at home by an acquaintance or in public in broad daylight by a migrant stranger, but for society and women’s overall thinking in this country, it has its effects.
There are no more “safe spaces”. It can happen to you anytime, anywhere, even if you celebrate New Year’s Eve in a large group. The risk of becoming a victim of a sexual offense has become too big and many women have simply withdrawn from public space in order to avoid these risky situations….
It is cruel to see how women keep silent and are unnoticed by the majority of society, while much of the media attention disappears as well. It is in a weakened form what happened in many Islamic countries after the revitalization of conservative Islam.
The woman becomes invisible. Cologne was the point at which I became really aware of what this particular kind of immigration means, especially for us women, but also for society as a whole. I mean, apart from sexual assaults on women, there was a situation in which the state totally lost control in Cologne for hours…
China’s Commerce Ministry was angered by the tariff, responding: “The U.S. side once again abused its trade remedy measures. China expresses its strong dissatisfaction with this.” Mexico is also rattled. The nation’s Economy Department shot back, “Mexico will use all available legal resources in response to the U.S. decision to apply protections on Mexican washing machines and solar panels.”
These complaints are to be expected given where they’re coming from. Nevertheless, was this a wise decision? As Heritage Foundation analyst Katie Tubb explains, not exactly. She writes: “The case involves two failing manufacturing companies — Suniva and SolarWorld — which have petitioned the government for globally applicable tariffs on inexpensive imports of solar cells and panels. That petition has run the gauntlet of comments, hearings, and analysis from the U.S. International Trade Commission. Since then, organizations across the political spectrum, including the Solar Energy Industries Association, have made the case for why the requested tariffs would be harmful for the solar industry writ large.”
Tubb lists three justifications for “why rejecting the request for sweeping tariffs would be consistent with Trump’s campaign trail ideals and policy vision for energy dominance.” It begins with innovation. As Tubb explains, “There is almost no better way to fossilize an industry than by guaranteeing prices and knocking out the competitors of a select few companies. The only innovation that this spurs is creative ways to lobby the government for new ways to interfere in energy markets.” Moreover, “[Government] intervention would also punish competitive American solar companies in order to keep two failing ones afloat.”
Secondly, tariffs handcuff competition. “Trump should protect competition, not specific competitors,” says Tudd. “The solar industry in America can provide customers the best, most affordable service to Americans when it is able to access components from the most competitive companies around the globe. The proposed tariffs block this access. In essence, they are a massive regulatory subsidy for Suniva and SolarWorld — at the expense of the rest of the solar industry.”
And finally, there’s the issue of fostering a healthy job market. Tudd notes: “Suniva and SolarWorld argue that global tariffs are essential to their survival and will create thousands of jobs. Using the force of government to eliminate a company’s competitors will almost certainly preserve those company jobs.” However, “There will be negative implications for the rest of the industry and the indirect jobs it creates if the administration bends over backward to shore up two failing companies. The federal government shouldn’t be the arbiter of whose job is more valuable.”
National Taxpayer Union’s Free Trade Initiative director Bryan Riley makes yet another shrewd point: “Because the government provides a whopping 30 percent tax credit for the installation of solar energy systems, a big chunk of increased costs generated by the new trade restrictions will be paid for by the federal government. That doesn’t seem like an ‘America First’ policy.”
In essence, Trump’s decision, unfortunately, continues the government’s proclivity for picking winners and losers. Furthermore, the Associated Press reports, “Sen. Ben Sasse … said Republicans need to understand that tariffs are a tax on consumers.” He’s right. There’s no doubt any of this was the administration’s intent — Trump, after all, once pledged, “We will get the bureaucracy out of the way of innovation, so we can pursue all forms of energy” — but nevertheless, the decision was made without taking these issues into account. Imposing tariffs on the solar industry wasn’t one of Trump’s brightest decisions. ~The Patriot Post
