DID BRENNAN COLLUDE WITH FOREIGN SPIES TO HELP HILLARY?

John Brennan defended his thesis that Russia interfered in the 2016 election to help Donald Trump win before the Hoiuse Intelligence Committee. He did nothing to disabuse Congressional Democrats or the mainstream media of the notion that Team Trump colluded with Moscow to change the results of the 2016 election.

Brennan  didn’t explain why he thought that the Russians didn’t want Hillary Clinton to win. Perhaps Clapper could explain why they didn’t prefer Hillary who was Secretary of State when President Obama let Russia violate the INF Missile Treaty and colluded with the Russians to kill missile defense in Europe, telling Then Russian President Dimitri Medvedev to tell Putin he would have more “flexibility” after his reelection.

Clapper didn’t explain why he the Russians didn’t prefer Hillary, Secretary of State for an administration that did nothing when Russia annexed Crimea and invaded Ukraine. Why wouldn’t the Russians want the Secretary of State who called murderous Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad a reformer and was there when President Obama drew the first of his “red lines” than did nothing to prevent the slaughter of 500,000 Syrians while giving Russia freerein in that country?

Why would Russia prefer Trump over Hillary after she and husband Bill brokered deals giving Russia and Putin 20 percent of our uranium supply to benefit  Clinton Foundation donors, including Canadian billionaire Frank Giustra.

As the New York Times reported, this mutual back-scratching gave Clinton donor Giustra control of a significant portion of the world’s uranium supply:

Late on Sept. 6, 2005, a private plane carrying the Canadian mining financier Frank Giustra touched down in Almaty, a ruggedly picturesque city in southeast Kazakhstan. Several hundred miles to the west a fortune awaited: highly coveted deposits of uranium that could fuel nuclear reactors around the world. And Mr. Giustra was in hot pursuit of an exclusive deal to tap them.

Unlike more established competitors, Mr. Giustra was a newcomer to uranium mining in Kazakhstan, a former Soviet republic. But what his fledgling company lacked in experience, it made up for in connections. Accompanying Mr. Giustra on his luxuriously appointed MD-87 jet that day was a former president of the United States, Bill Clinton….

Just months after the Kazakh pact was finalized, Mr. Clinton’s charitable foundation received its own windfall: a $31.3 million donation from Mr. Giustra that had remained a secret until he acknowledged it last month. The gift, combined with Mr. Giustra’s more recent and public pledge to give the William J. Clinton Foundation an additional $100 million, secured Mr. Giustra a place in Mr. Clinton’s inner circle, an exclusive club of wealthy entrepreneurs in which friendship with the former president has its privileges….

In February 2007, a company called Uranium One agreed to pay $3.1 billion to acquire UrAsia. Mr. Giustra, a director and major shareholder in UrAsia, would be paid $7.05 per share for a company that just two years earlier was trading at 10 cents per share.

Now isn’t that special. Both the Clintons and their donor made off handsomely. Uranium One, which was gradually taken over by the Russians, would later be involved in a curious deal involving Hillary Clinton when she was Secretary of State. As the New York Times reported:

At the heart of the tale are several men, leaders of the Canadian mining industry, who have been major donors to the charitable endeavors of former President Bill Clinton and his family. Members of that group built, financed and eventually sold off to the Russians a company that would become known as Uranium One.

Beyond mines in Kazakhstan that are among the most lucrative in the world, the sale gave the Russians control of one-fifth of all uranium production capacity in the United States. Since uranium is considered a strategic asset, with implications for national security, the deal had to be approved by a committee composed of representatives from a number of United States government agencies. Among the agencies that eventually signed off was the State Department, then headed by Mr. Clinton’s wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

As the Russians gradually assumed control of Uranium One in three separate transactions from 2009 to 2013, Canadian records show, a flow of cash made its way to the Clinton Foundation. Uranium One’s chairman used his family foundation to make four donations totaling $2.35 million. Those contributions were not publicly disclosed by the Clintons, despite an agreement Mrs. Clinton had struck with the Obama White House to publicly identify all donors. Other people with ties to the company made donations as well….

Soon, Uranium One began to snap up companies with assets in the United States. In April 2007, it announced the purchase of a uranium mill in Utah and more than 38,000 acres of uranium exploration properties in four Western states, followed quickly by the acquisition of the Energy Metals Corporation and its uranium holdings in Wyoming, Texas and Utah.

So Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, along with husband Bill, in exchange for donations, gave nuclear power Russia and Putin control of 20 percent of the world’s uranium supply. Is that what Hillary Clinton meant by a “Russian reset”? Yet neither Congressional Democrats, who accuse Trump  of being too cozy with Moscow, nor their wholly owned subsidiary, the mainstream media, are eager to talk about the Clinton uranium deals with Russia.

Based on this assessment, Brennan is wrong that the Russians wanted Hillary to win. They may have hacked into the DNC emails, but they didn’t write them. They didn’t keep Hilary from campaigning in Wisconsin, or make her motivate Trump supporters by calling half of them “deplorable”, or cause ObamaCare premiums to spike weeks before the November election.

There is another scenario as equally plausible as the one saying Team Trump, and perhaps President Trump himself, colluded with the Russians. It is that John Brennan himself colluded with the Russians to help Hillary win to guarantee his continued tenure as CIA Director. It involves the infamous anti-Trump dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele, used by Brenan and others as a pretext for a Trump investigation bonanza.  As the American Spectator reported:

An article in the Guardian last week provides more confirmation that John Brennan was the American progenitor of political espionage aimed at defeating Donald Trump. One side did collude with foreign powers to tip the election — Hillary’s.

Seeking to retain his position as CIA director under Hillary, Brennan teamed up with British spies and Estonian spies to cripple Trump’s candidacy. He used their phony intelligence as a pretext for a multi-agency investigation into Trump, which led the FBI to probe a computer server connected to Trump Tower and gave cover to Susan Rice, among other Hillary supporters, to spy on Trump and his people….

The Guardian story is written in a style designed to flatter its sources (they are cast as high-minded whistleblowers), but the upshot of it is devastating for them, nonetheless, and explains why all the criminal leaks against Trump first originated in the British press. According to the story, Brennan got his anti-Trump tips primarily from British spies but also Estonian spies and others. The story confirms that the seed of the espionage into Trump was planted by Estonia. The BBC’s Paul Wood reported last year that the intelligence agency of an unnamed Baltic State had tipped Brennan off in April 2016 to a conversation purporting to show that the Kremlin was funneling cash into the Trump campaign.

Any other CIA director would have disregarded such a flaky tip, recognizing that Estonia was eager to see Trump lose (its officials had bought into Hillary’s propaganda that Trump was going to pull out of NATO and leave Baltic countries exposed to Putin). But Brennan opportunistically seized on it, as he later that summer seized on the half-baked intelligence of British spy agencies (also full of officials who wanted to see Trump lose).

The Guardian says that British spy head Robert Hannigan “passed material in summer 2016 to the CIA chief, John Brennan.” To ensure that these flaky tips leaked out, Brennan disseminated them on Capitol Hill. In August and September of 2016, he gave briefings to the “Gang of Eight” about them, which then turned up on the front page of the New York Times.

Could it be that Brennan himself is the leaker of classified information? There are reports suggesting he is and isn’t that what is going on in Washington these days – bogus investigations based on reports of collusion with the Russians and other shenanigans. Could that be any crazier than investigations triggered by the Steele dossier, a classic work of slanderous fiction? Two things we do know – that the only crime is the leaking of classified information to the newspapers to damage Donald Trump and that Brennan is wrong on ewho the Russians wanted to win.

White House budget slashes failed ‘countering violent extremism’ grants (i.e., Muslim slush fund)

The budget proposal unveiled by the White House on Tuesday cut all funding to a Department of Homeland Security program known as “countering violent extremism,” which provides grants to communities to counter radicalism through outreach.

The program, whose roots go back to the Obama administration, has come under scrutiny by the Trump administration and some congressional Republicans who favor law enforcement, rather than community outreach, to fight what they see as a growing Islamic extremist threat.

At the beginning of the administration, some White House and DHS officials considered changing the name of the program to “countering Islamic extremism,” and refocusing the funding only on grants that dealt with the Islamic community, not other communities that may have extremist views like white supremacists.

The Trump administration has frozen $10 million in grants allocated at the end of the Obama administration under the countering violent extremism program and has yet to reallocate the funds.

The funding cuts proposed by the budget would reduce the $50 million currently allocated for the program down to zero for fiscal year 2018.

Congress must vote to pass the budget and it will likely be amended before being enacted.

As noted on Creeping Sharia and elsewhere many times, the failed CVE program is essentially a slush fund for Muslim groups to finance activities for Muslims and has done nothing to slow the rate of jihad in America.

The first sign of failure, it was headed by a Muslim.

Terrible anti-Muslim acts: verbal abuse! Criminal damage to mosques!

Twenty-two people are dead and fifty-nine wounded at the hands of an Islamic jihadist from Manchester. Verbal abuse! Criminal damage to mosques!

If there really was any actual criminal damage to a mosque, police should investigate. Meanwhile, let’s try to regain some sense of perspective: twenty-two people have been murdered, and instead of vowing to make sure that no one in the Islamic community in Manchester ever again gets the idea that murdering Infidels is a meritorious act, the Muslim leaders in Manchester are whining about people saying rude things to them.

And even those claims have to be regarded with extreme skepticism. So very many anti-Muslim hate crimes turn out to have been faked by Muslims in order to deflect attention away from jihad terror or for other reasons, that no one should take what the Manchester Muslim leaders are saying here at face value. But the British government and media will, of course, do so.

“We’re sick of having to apologise and being the first to condemn it. What more can we do? Tell me what more can we do?”

Easy: implement transparent, honest, inspectable programs in mosques and Islamic schools teaching Muslims to reject and abhor the version of Islam taught by the Islamic State, al-Qaeda, and other jihad groups. Teach against the aspects of Sharia that are incompatible with British law and Western understandings of human rights. Cooperate with anti-terror efforts instead of whining about “Islamophobia.” Be more upset about 22 people killed in the name of Islam and in accord with its teachings than about some unspecified “verbal abuse.”

Muslim leaders in Manchester have expressed concern about a number of Islamophobic incidents in the city, from verbal abuse to criminal damage to mosques.

Senior members of the Muslim community say that they have received reports of abusive behaviour since the attack on Manchester Arena earlier this week.

Fawzi Haffar, trustee of the Manchester Islamic Centre in Didsbury, where Salman Abedi, the Manchester Arena bomber, is understood to have prayed, said: “We are concerned about reports we are receiving about anti-Muslim acts. These are terrible anti-Muslim acts ranging from verbal abuse to acts of criminal damage to mosques in the area and outside the area. We do encourage any incidents to be reported as a hate crime.”

Mohammed Ullah, Muslim chaplain at University of Manchester, said that he had heard reports of a Muslim girl being spat at and another Muslim person being told to “go home”. An arsonist attacked a mosque in Oldham, Greater Manchester, shortly after the atrocity.

“We hear reports but many people are very scared to talk about the problem or they don’t want to cause a fuss,” Ullah told the Guardian. “We receive reports but I think incidents are under-reported.”

“Islamophobic attacks have increased in the last few years exponentially,” he went on. “I tell Muslim students to report these hate incidents when they happen. Be vigilant against it and don’t allow hate to divide us.”

Speaking outside the Didsbury mosque, Haffar sought to dispel reports that Abedi had worked at the centre, and said: “We express concern that a small section of the media are manufacturing stories and making unfounded points.”

He also expressed his outrage at the attack, calling it a “horrific atrocity” and saying “this act of cowardice has no place in our religion or any other religion”. He encouraged anyone with information to contact the police.

But Ullah said that Muslims should not be expected to apologise for the actions of extremists.

“I say to Muslims you should not have to apologise for the actions of individuals,” he said. “No other community has ever been held to account like this. Let me be clear – what happened on Monday was a crime of epic proportions. It was epic, evil and one we condemn with the strongest condemnation.

“But let’s also be clear about this – why do we then have to stand up and say: ‘we apologise’? It’s not my fault. It’s not the fault of the religion.”

“We’re sick of having to apologise and being the first to condemn it. What more can we do? Tell me what more can we do?”…

Ramadan in Egypt: Muslims murder 26 Christians in bus on way to monastery

Ramadan begins today. It is the month of jihad, the month when Muslims strive to please Allah more fervently. And so because murdering Infidels who are considered to be at war with Allah is a pious act, there is generally more bloodshed during Ramadan than during the rest of the year.

“26 killed, 26 injured as gunmen fire on Coptic Christian convoy in Egypt,” Straits Times, May 26, 2017:

CAIRO (Bloomb erg [sic], Reuters, AFP) – Gunmen in military fatigues opened fire on a bus carrying members of Egypt’s Coptic Christian minority killing at least 26 people, including children, the latest in a string of militant attacks targeting the community.

Another 26 were wounded in the assault in Minya province, some 200km south of Cairo, said Ministry of Health spokesman Khaled Mogahed.

The Copts were on their way to the Saint Samuel monastery, according to Minya’s governor Issam al-Bedewi. Bishop Anba Ermia, president of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Centre, said on Twitter that the attack may have killed as many as 35 people in a convoy of vehicles.

Pictures of the bus aired by state television showed its windows shot out.

“They used automatic weapons,” Bedawi told state television.

Bedawi said police were fanning out along the road where the attack took place and had set up checkpoints.

The attack came days after Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi joined US President Donald Trump and top Arab leaders to launch a new centre in the Saudi capital Riyadh to combat the Islamist ideologies behind terrorism.

“They’re hitting at countries’ weakest points,” said Sami Nader, head of the Beirut-based Levant Institute for Strategic Affairs. “It’s not a classic war. Tanks, fighter jets are not fit to counter this kind of threat.”

The morning assault began when about 10 men wearing military-style clothing opened fire, according to Major Mohamed Abdel-Moneim, who’s with the Minya security directorate.

It occurred in upper Egypt, an area where militants had previously been active in the 1990s and 2000s, especially in fighting between the government and the Sunni group Gamaa Al-Islamiya. Tensions between Muslims and Christians frequently flare.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Friday’s attack.

In January, bombings killed dozens at two churches in the deadliest attacks in recent memory on the country’s Coptic Christian minority.

The first bombing on Palm Sunday at the Mar Girgis church in Tanta city, north of Cairo, killed 27 people, the health ministry said. The second struck outside Saint Mark’s church in Alexandria, killing 17 people after a suicide bomber was prevented from entering the building.

Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has been waging a deadly insurgency in the Sinai Peninsula and has claimed scores of attacks on security forces there….

Promoting Islam in Our Schools

Memorizing the Islamic conversion prayer. Reciting the Five Pillars of Islam. Affirming that Christians are not as strong in their faith as Muslims. Several school districts across the nation are requiring their students to study Islam. And parents aren’t happy about it.

A 1963 Supreme Court decision allows for historical instruction about religions. But it seems that Islam is the only religion that is okay to promote. Some parents believe the Islamic teaching has gone too far. And now there’s a lawsuit.

The Court Opens the Door

The Supreme Court in Abington v. Schempp ruled that organized religious events violated the First Amendment. Schools could not require Bible reading or praying in class. But they could offer courses on the Bible or religion as a secular subject. The Court said that “education is not complete without a study of comparative religion or the history of religion and its relationship to the advancement of civilization.”

Those who know Abington know it as the case that kicked Bible reading out of public education. But it left the door open for a historical study of the Christianity — or any other religion. Now the study of Islam is making its way into the school systems nationwide.

Islamic teaching in public schools has alarmed several parents. They believe it has crossed the line from a historical study to indoctrination. They believe that school districts are promoting Islam over other religions.

The Problem with Teaching Islam

A La Plata, California, High School parent brought a lawsuit against the school. John Kevin Wood and his wife said that his daughter’s school required her to complete assignments that endorsed Islam.

The school required her to affirm that “Most Muslims’ faith is stronger than the average Christian.” The school required all students to recite the Islamic conversion prayer. The prayer, called the Shahada, states that “There is no god but Allah and Mohammed is his prophet.” The school also required students to profess the Five Pillars of Islam.

Wood said his daughter’s school forced her to write statements that offended and denied her Christian beliefs. When she refused to complete the assignments, she received failing grades. Her teacher sent her to the school library away from her classmates. As a result, she felt ostracized because of her Christian beliefs.

Wood contacted the school and asked for alternative assignments. The school’s principal refused. Wood informed the principal that he would contact an attorney and the media. The school then reportedly responded by obtaining a restraining order against Wood. He could no longer pick up his daughter on school property or attend parent-teacher meetings.

La Plata High School did not teach Christianity the same way as Islam, according to Wood. Christianity was taught for one day—disparagingly. Islam was taught for two weeks—sympathetically. The lesson did not require students to learn any of Christianity’s tenets, faith statements or creeds. Nor were the students required to learn any of Judaism’s.

It Happens in Other Schools Too

It happens in other schools, too. Parents across the country have complained that their child’s school required them to:

Dress up as a Muslim, learn prayers and scriptures from the Quran;

Memorize the Five Pillars of Islam and listen to a Muslim prayer;

Memorize and recite the Shahada, or the conversion prayer; and

Write the Shahada in Arabic as part of a calligraphy lesson.

Parents of students at several schools complain that teachers do not teach non-Muslim religions. And that is the crux of the issue for many parents.

The Ten Commandments would never be a lesson requirement, said one New Jersey mom. “If Islam is taught, teach Christianity, too. [My son] couldn’t even put a Bible verse in his presentation that was student-initiated. So they’re not only teaching Islam, but they’re not allowing students to be free in expressing their [Christian] religious beliefs.”

Many school districts indoctrinate students in Islam, said Thomas More Law Center President Richard Thompson. “This is happening in public schools across the country. And [parents] must take action to stop it.”

The First Amendment’s Establishment Clause

The Establishment Clause prohibits the government from establishing a religion. The Supreme Court decided in Lemon v. Kurtzman (1971) that a three-part test would govern what constitutes “establishment of a religion.” Under the “Lemon test,” government can make laws or policy about religion if the reason for the law is secular, it neither promotes nor inhibits religion, and it doesn’t excessively entangle church and state.

Teaching about Islam in schools may not seem at first glance to be a problem. But the law is clear that the government may not adhere to, promote or inhibit a particular religion. This includes public school districts. Teaching Islam as a secular subject along with other religions equally is lawful. When the teaching of Islam promotes the religion above others, that is against the law. This is found in the Establishment Clause of our First Amendment.

The First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt University stated these lessons can go too far. In particular, some “hands-on” activities border on unconstitutional endorsement of religion. They added, “Would any of these schools dream of acting out the Catholic Mass or inviting a Protestant minister to give a sermon in the gym?”

Even if school districts have good intentions, they can still cross the line, the Center noted. “However well-intentioned, including religions and cultures by violating the Constitution doesn’t help anyone. … All of us have an important stake in making sure that First Amendment principles are applied fairly and justly to each and every individual and group in the United States.” (For more from the author of “Promoting Islam in Our Schools” please click HERE) http://joemiller.us/2017/05/promoting-islam-schools/

A federal appeals court dealt another blow to President Donald Trump’s revised travel ban targeting six-Muslim majority countries on Thursday.

Major Insurance Company Ditches Obamacare in Kansas City

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City announced Wednesday morning it will no longer offer or renew insurance plans on the city’s Obamacare exchange next year in Kansas or Missouri.

The fallout is likely to affect some 67,000 Blue Cross customers in 30 counties in Kansas City, according to a statement from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City. The company provides insurance to over 1 million individuals in the Kansas City area.

Blue Cross customers who get insurance through their employers will not be affected, nor will customers who have “a Medicare supplement, Medicare Advantage, a Short-Term Policy or a Student Health Plan.”

The company is experiencing rising operating costs which have made it such that providing plans on the Kansas City Obamacare exchange is no longer profitable.

AND THEY WIN! One student’s action at San Ramon Valley High School in posting  an “allegedly insensitive video about Muslim terrorists” on Twitter has caused snowflake outrage at the school. Initially, the school district took action against the student, but after his parents sued, the district backed off.

East Bay Times  The San Ramon Unified School District board sat silent and mostly expressionless during three hours of public comment Tuesday night as people  the community told them how upset they were at a video some called anti-Muslim and hateful.

The Times described the content of the video in question:

According to court documents, there is extensive imagery of students using fake firearms — and the video briefly shows what appears to be a real firearm —  ostensibly to assault, rob and kill each other. The video also suggests a student engaged in a sexual act when armed “terrorists” abduct him from his bedroom, according to a court document.

In the video, the “abductors” shove used tissues into the boy’s face while another begins slapping his naked stomach, according to a court document. Another scene portrays the “terrorists” torturing him.

“The video makes repeated ‘racist’ and insensitive references to Middle Eastern people, stereotyping them based on their dress, accents and language, names, manner of praying and religious dietary restrictions,” the document stated.

About 50 speakers showed up to address the board, but board vice president Ken Mintz told the packed room that the board was legally not allowed to respond to items not on the agenda. But the item on their minds was a controversial video made by a San Ramon Valley High School student during his run for student body president.

Besides the video itself — which has sparked outcry with its depiction of two students as Muslim terrorists and supposed references to lewd conduct, violence and torture — is the apparent decision of the board to reinstate the student as president. The teen boy filed a petition with the state court against the school district following the February video incident, and his immediate disqualification from the student election. Despite a judge ruling in favor of the school district, the board apparently made the decision to reinstate his leadership roles.

Spojmie Nasiri, president of the designated terrorist group CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) in the Bay Area, asked the board to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and not dismiss that the video was a joke. “Jokes have consequences,” she said. She asked the district take remedial action, including trainings on hate, free speech and Islamophobia for students, faculty and staff who are involved.

ABC News  Parent Karen Pearce described the short video against Muslim terrorism her son posted on Twitter as a free speech issue. She is more troubled by how the school district has handled the matter, posting on her Facebook page in bold letters: Doing the right thing isn’t always easy, but it’s always right.

Pearce says initially, the school told the student he could no longer be in a school leadership role. That’s when his parents took legal action. The school district admitted they were forced to comply. Pearce made sure her son will now have a major role within the associated student body without ever apologizing for exercising his First Amendment rights.

The teen boy’s First Amendment attorney, Gill Sperlein, said his client doesn’t have any intention to resign from his position. He said the district had met most of their demands, including reinstating him as current junior class president, a total vote count of the spring election, and instating him as student body president next year.

Ramadan – The Muslim Month of Fasting, Jihad and Martyrdom

The month of Ramadan, the month of fasting, has a special status as the month of religious spirituality and devotion. However, in Muslim tradition it is also perceived as a month of jihad and martyrdom, a month in which Allah grants military victories to His believers. It was during Ramadan that Muslims triumphed in many of their battles, among them the battle of Badr in 624 between supporters of Muhammad and a merchant caravan of the Quraysh tribe; the conquest of Mecca in 630 and of Andalusia in 711; the battle of Al-Zallaqa in 1086, in which Spanish Muslims defeated the Castilians near the city of Badajoz on today’s Portuguese border, and the 1973 War (called The Ramadan War).

Given the historic religious and military significance of Ramadan, Islamist and jihadi groups, and sometimes also mainstream Arab organizations and Arab media, escalate incitement to jihad and martyrdom during this month. Messages, articles and sermons that are published on the occasion of Ramadan and explain the connection between Ramadan and jihad and often stress the following themes:

-The commandment of jihad, which is of supreme importance at all times, assumes even greater importance during this holy month and gains precedence over all other commandments.

-There is a close connection between fasting and jihad, for the former is jihad of the soul, aimed at restraining it from sinning, while the second is jihad against the enemies, aimed at preventing them from spreading “corruption” in the world. Moreover, fasting is a powerful means to prepare the soul for jihad, i.e., to school oneself in obedience, devotion, resilience and endurance, which are the virtues of the jihad fighter that allow him to vanquish his enemies. On Ramadan Allah grants fighters special strength, despite – or rather by virtue of – their fasting.

-Those who gain martyrdom during the month of Ramadan are doubly rewarded in Paradise.

-During Ramadan, the Muslims are especially beholden to protect the sanctity of the Muslim holy places and keep the infidels from “desecrating” or threatening them.

The following are excerpts from a sampling of messages, articles and sermons on this topic, published across the Arab world from 2001 until today, compiled from previous MEMRI documents.

Former Egyptian Grand Mufti: Ramadan Is The Month Of Jihad And Victories

In an article published in the Egyptian daily Al-Ahram in July 2012, then-mufti of Egypt ‘Ali Gum’a wrote that Ramadan is, and has been throughout Muslim history, the month in which Allah helps the Muslims to prevail over their enemies and grants them mighty victories. He reviewed the conquests of Muslims throughout history during Ramadan.

“[Throughout the history of] Islamic civilization, Ramadan has been not only a month of worship and of growing close to Allah the Almighty, but also a month of action and jihad aimed at spreading this great religion. When the soul grows stronger and the spirit soars, it inevitably affects the body, which [also] grows stronger – [for] the body is the mirror of the soul. That is why, throughout [Muslim] history, Ramadan has been a month of great conquests, which were an important factor in spreading Islam, [with] its righteousness and tolerance, across the world. Ramadan saw [many] events that were milestones in the history of Islamic civilization.

“On Ramadan 22 of the year 1 AH [623 CE], the Prophet’s brigades were first sent forth… On Ramadan 17 of the year 2 AH [624 CE] was the great Battle of Badr, in which the Muslims under the command of the Prophet defeated the infidel armies. On Ramadan 21 of the year 8 AH [630 CE], the Messenger of Allah conquered Mecca. [This] conquest was the pinnacle of the efforts of the Prophet and his Companions in their Islamic da’wa for the sake of Allah. It bore the message of Islamic sovereignty in the Arabian Peninsula, where, following [the Prophet’s] example, people [started to] convert to Allah’s religion in groups. On Ramadan 8 in the year 9 AH [631 CE] was the Battle of Tabouk, and the Prophet returned from this battle on Ramadan 26, having received great support from Allah.

“After [Muhammad’s] death, his Companions followed his example in spreading da’wa, and their era, too, saw great Islamic conquests during the month of Ramadan. On Ramadan 13, 15 AH [636 CE], the Commander of the Faithful, ‘Umar bin Khattab, arrived in Palestine after waging hard battles to conquer Al-Sham [Greater Syria]. He received the keys to the city of Jerusalem and granted its people a charter of protection guaranteeing their property and lives, [and today] we ask Allah to return [Jerusalem] in its entirety to the Muslims. On Ramadan 1, 20 AH [641 CE], [also] in the period of ‘Umar bin Khattab, the Muslims entered Egypt under the command of ‘Umar ‘Ibn Al-‘As, after he vanquished the army of the oppressing Byzantines.

“On Ramadan 6, 23 AH [644 CE], Muhammad ibn Al-Qasim defeated the Indian armies near the Indus River and conquered the Indus Valley.  It was at the end of the era of Walid bin ‘Abd Al-Malik. The conquest of Al-Andalus started on Ramadan 1, 91 AH [710 CE], when the Muslims, under the command of Tarif ibn Malik Al-Berberi,[1] landed on its southern coast and conquered several port cities…

“Ramadan also saw the Muslim victory over the Byzantine state, in the Battle of Amorium, under the command of the ‘Abbasid Caliph Al-Mu’tasim. Heeding the cries of his Muslim brothers, he came to their help with a large army and punished the Byzantine state on Ramadan 19, 223 AH [838 CE]. On Ramadan 25, 658 AH [1260 CE] was the Battle of ‘Ain Jalout, led by Muzaffar Sayf Al-Din. Allah the Almighty granted the Muslims a decisive… victory that halted the spread of the Mongols and saved the Muslim civilization from perditionÔǪ

“Ramadan 10 went down in history as a day of victory not only for the Egyptians but for the entire Arab and Muslim nation, and it will remain forever etched in the memory of every Arab and Muslim. This was [the day of] the Egyptian army’s victory over the Israelis in the war of 1973. On October 6, 1973 was the Battle of Al-‘Ubour, in which the Egyptian army crossed the Suez Canal, and, with Allah’s help, re-took the Sinai Peninsula. Centuries before that, on Ramadan 10, 648 (December 10, 1250), the Muslims defeated Louis IX in the Battle of Al-Mansoura, killing and capturing many of his soldiers.

“The month of Ramadan has thus gone down in Muslim history as the month of conquest; the month in which Allah the Almighty wished to spread the light of Islam, its morality, and its values among all of mankind.”[2]

Al-Azhar Lecturer Dr. Fuad Mukheimar: “Fasting Is A Continuous Commandment, Until Judgment DayÔǪ And The Same Is True For Jihad”

Egyptian cleric and Al-Azhar lecturer Dr. Fuad Mukheimar devoted an article to the topic of Ramadan in November 2001. In it, he clarified the connection between fasting and jihad: “Education for fasting has not been limited to preparing Muslims for battle and imbuing them with the meaning of soldiering, but also included waging a number of honorable battles during the month of Ramadan – to the point where this month came to be called ‘The Month of jihad.’ The nation of Islam came to be called ‘the jihad-fighting nation,’ and its moral values came to be called ‘the values of warfare’ÔǪ”

“Fasting is closely connected to jihad in two aspects: First, determination and steadfastness until The Hour [Judgment Day]. Fasting is a continuous commandment, until Judgment DayÔǪ and the same is true for jihad, because Muslim society needs it to defend [its] faith, honor, and homelandÔǪ The nation’s fasting is [itself] education for jihad, and as long as the nation fasts it will continue to be a jihad fighter.”

“Second, fasting and jihad are connected [to each other] in body, spirit, and soul. To this end, Allah has set some jihad battles for the month of fasting in order to gather together the army of AllahÔǪ”[3]

Article On Muslim Brotherhood Website: “Transform The Month Of Fasting Into A Training Camp That Will Aid You In Jihad When The Time Comes”

In a September 2012 article published on the occasion of Ramadan on the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) website, MB member Hussein Shehata, a lecturer at Al-Azhar University, praised the jihad waged by Muslims against their enemies around the world: against the Jews – “the descendants of apes and pigs” – in Palestine, against the Americans in Iraq, against the Russians in Chechnya, and against the Muslims’ enemies in Kashmir, Bosnia, Eritrea, and Somalia. He also emphasized the similarity between one who fasts and one who wages jihad on the battlefield, and urged Muslims to “transform the month of fasting into a training camp that will aid [them] in jihad when the time comes.”

“Fasting [during Ramadan] is one of the most powerful means to educate the human spirit for jihad. Fasting involves a spiritual effort to act in a way contrary to what is accepted, and to completely abandon desires… It also schools the Muslim in patience, resilience, endurance, and sacrifice, which are all traits of the jihad fighter…

…

“Ramadan is the month of victory for those who wage jihad for Allah. Ramadan has seen the following battles, conquests, and victories: the great Battle of Badr [624 CE],… the conquest of Mecca [630 CE],… the Battle of Hattin [1187], the Muslims’ entrance into Al-Andalus [Andalusia, 710 CE], the conquest of Constantinople by Muhammad the Conqueror[4] [1453 CE], and the battle of ‘Ein Jalut [1260 CE], in which the Muslims defeated the Mongols…”

MB [Muslim Brotherhood] General Guide: “Allah Did Not Mandate [The Fast] Of Ramadan So That [We] Sit Idly And Avoid Jihad”

MB General Guide Muhammad Badi’ wrote on the movement’s website in August 2012: “Since [the Battle of Badr] and until today, the month of Ramadan has been a time of victories for the [Muslim] nation – [victories] which repeatedly confirmed that the [Muslim] nation has an essence in which its sons take pride and which is embedded in them; that the nation has power that emanates from its first [sovereign] state, which was established by Allah’s Messenger in Al-Medina and subsequently spread across the globe; and that the nation [consists of] peoples that feel its might and strength, for it is supported by the succor and providence of Allah even [when] its ranks are thin and its equipment meager. They draw their strength from their Maker, the Lord of all might, which he bestowed upon His Messenger and the believers.

“Allah the Almighty wanted the [Ramadan] fast to coincide with fighting, so that the Muslims would win and deal their enemies a crushing blow that the world would speak of… Allah did not mandate [the fast] of Ramadan so that [we] sit idly and avoid jihad, action, and da’wa for the sake of Allah. The fast is not intended to be an excuse to avoid one’s obligations at work or one’s social commitments. Rather, it is a month of action and movement, of conquests and victories – the month in which most of the defeats of the nation’s enemies occurred. Is this not [incentive] enough for us to shake off the dust of sloth, inaction, and apathy, and spin the wheel of life with all the power and might [that Allah] has bestowed upon us?

“The victories of the month of Ramadan are actually lessons for the Muslim peoples. They lifted [the Muslims’] spirit; maximized their ability to give, commit and improve; created a new reality in building the modern Islamic state; and gave rise to a generation of [people who are like] sturdy bricks – [people] who conquer their urges and can defend the nation, achieve its freedom, and restore its glory. The victories during the month of Ramadan are generally [achieved] only thanks to the help bestowed [by Allah] on humanity, [help] that has changed its history, improved its situation, and contributed to its advancement.

“In the nation’s most recent victory – in the ‘Ramadan 10′ War [i.e. the 1973 war between the Arabs and Israel] – the winds of Ramadan blew upon the Egyptian people, which consisted of [Muslim] soldiers, who fasted and prayed, and also their Christian partners and brothers, who joined them in sacrificing for the defense of justice, freedom, and the homeland, and even participated in the fast out of respect for [Muslim] feelings. This influenced the achievement of victory and the reserves of faith that preceded it and provided momentum for dedication and sacrifice.

“If we desire victory for our revolutionary peoples; stability in our assaulted homelands; an end to the inhuman slaughter of our brothers in Palestine, Syria, and Burma; and the rescue of the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Zionists’ attempts to destroy it and Judaize Jerusalem – we must rally around Allah, act in His name, persevere with His help, and put our trust in Him…

“This is the month of might and victory, in which the fasting believers defeat their own [urges], as well as their enemies. Allah decreed that the Islamic nation, throughout its long history, should [experience] momentous events during this holy month… This month saw the glorious conquest of Mecca, in which the Messenger of Allah, peace by upon him, stood at the entrance of the Ka’aba and said: ‘There is no God but Allah, who fulfilled His promise, granted victory to His servant, and defeated the [enemy] hosts by himself.’ This month is a month of war within one’s soul and struggle against one’s desires. The spirit is the greatest battlefield on which a fighter is trained [to fight] his enemies. If one vanquishes one’s urges, one can certainly vanquish others…

“The month of Ramadan was given to the nation so that we remember these victories, these meanings, and our duties: to commit to being God-fearing, to conquer the spirit, to unify our ranks, to turn only to Allah, [and to engage in] action, jihad, preparation, and training. This, so we can enjoy the victories of the month of Ramadan, which will not end until Judgment Day, with hope for the coming victory of our nation…” [6]

The list goes on if you have time. How many mosques and Islamic schools in the U.S. are teaching young Muslims and converts these truths about Islamic history and conquest?

Be sure that U.S. servicemen aren’t being taught the truth about Ramadan and what they are fighting against, quite the opposite.

Be prepared for another onslaught of media pandering and lies from Muslim groups regarding Islam over the next four weeks.
