ARE WE A COUNTRY WITHOUT A SHAME?

By: Juan Reynoso, WTP Activist -  texusa2016@gmail.com

Americas must realize that self-scrutiny is not treason. Self-examination is not disloyalty.

Truth and knowledge diffused among the people are necessary for the reclamation and preservation of our Democracy, rights, freedom and liberties.

Is our country a nation without a shame?

Masters of Manipulation”: Psychopaths Rule the World

http://www.globalresearch.ca/masters-of-manipulation-psychopaths-rule-the-world/5383706

It is a shame that America the land of the free has become a police estate runs by corrupt politicians that at will commit crimes against the American people and humanity; with impunity and immunity from prosecution granted by the US judicial system that practice politics and fail to stand for the US constitution, the rule of law, human rights violation, our US laws and the world’s law against war crimes and genocide.

The fact is that we as Americans fail to hold this corrupt army of sycophants, sociopath politicians accountable to” We the People”.  With the exception of many patriots that really care about the future of our country, our US constitution, the rule of law and our freedom; most Americans spend an average of 4 hours every day of our lives in nonproductive activities, but never take the time to learn what our government is doing to us or the world community, apathy is American’s crime.

This is America Today;  a gutless, cowardly population that accepts and defends this corrupt enterprise and sits and watches the murder of our American diplomats, soldiers, true tellers, innocent women and children and the destruction of countries without any remorse or empathy, nor protest or intervene to stop this tyranny and crimes against humanity.

On the Benghazi case; is the private computer server own and operated by Hillary Clinton for the express control of her communication with others and used to conduct government business in violation of our laws; and when she was demanded to turn in the server, she cleanup the computer server before she turn it in; so in fact she was the one that determine what e-mail were to be remove so she can be clear of any wrong doing and the US Dept. of justice do nothing to stop it, in violation of the rule of law.

Fellow Americans if we don’t punish our war criminals, who is going to punish them? by sending the message to the world that we can commit crimes against humanity and do whatever we want, to anyone we want to with impunity, Our foreign policies on national security and our integrity will have negative consequences and we will never be in the position to talk about the rule of law and human rights.  We have lost the moral authority and any right to influence other countries in the Middle East, Russia, China or any other country in the world. We have created international chaos, barbarity and savagery and less international stability in the Middle East. It is time to correct the wrong and stop the killings and the exodus in the Middle East.

The only way to stem this tide is to stop our Middle East meddling.

OH, THE HUMA-NITY     Fox News: “Clinton confidante Huma Abedin was on Capitol Hill Friday to testify before the congressional Benghazi committee, just days before the former secretary of state faces off with the panel she has called a political attack arm. The closed-door meeting comes as committee Chairman Trey Gowdy combats accusations from both sides of the aisle that the panel is political in nature and bent on targeting Democratic presidential front-runner Hilly Clinton. To that end, the committee took the rare step this week of announcing Abedin’s testimony Friday morning, stressing that she will only be questioned on issues relating to the committee’s core mission.”

DNC IN SHAMBLES   NYT: “R.T. Rybak, the former mayor of Minneapolis and a vice chairman of the Democratic National Committee, on Thursday accused the party’s leader, Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, of making ‘flat-out not true’ statements about another top party officer, questioned her political skills and said he had ‘serious questions’ about her suitability for the job… In a series of televised interviews on Monday and Tuesday, Ms. Wasserman Schultz…insisted that she had indeed consulted with the party’s officers before scheduling the debates…Rybak weighed in angrily in response, expressing shock that Ms. Wasserman Schultz ‘would knowingly say something that is flat-out not true.’ ‘This is not a back-and-forth between a chair and a vice chair,’ he said. ‘This is a chair of the Democratic Party wrongly stating that she consulted with all of the party officers. I was not consulted. I know that [DNC Vice Chairwoman] Tulsi Gabbard was not consulted. And this is becoming about much more than debates.’”  -Fox News

Is Clinton Guilty of 'Gross Negligence' With Email?
Last weekend, Barack nObama declared, "I can tell you that [Hilly Clinton's unsecured email server] is not a situation in which America's national security was endangered." His blatant attempt to influence the FBI investigation into Clinton's server wasn't warmly received by agents at the bureau. In fact, an unnamed source let it be known that the FBI is focusing on whether Clinton violated the Espionage Act — specifically whether there was "gross negligence" on Clinton's part regarding a subsection of the law covering national defense information. Fox News explains, "Under 18 USC 793 subsection F, the information does not have to be classified to count as a violation. The intelligence source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity citing the sensitivity of the ongoing probe, said the subsection requires the 'lawful possession' of national defense information by a security clearance holder who 'through gross negligence,' such as the use of an unsecure computer network, permits the material to be removed or abstracted from its proper, secure location."
On top of "gross negligence," agents are looking at a charge that should be very familiar to the Clintons — obstruction of justice. That is, after all, the name of the game for Bill and Hilly. The latter charge could be related to the fact that she deleted half of her emails before finally relenting and turning over the server, despite her laughable insistence at the debate that "I've been as transparent as I know to be." We'll see if the FBI agrees, because, unlike Bernie Sanders, investigating agents don't seem to be "sick and tired of hearing about [her] damn emails."

Gowdy to Dumb Republicans: 'Shut Up'
Trey Gowdy has had enough of his work being undermined by fellow Republicans. After fellow congressmen Kevin McCarthy and Richard Hanna threw Hilly Clinton a lifeline, describing the Benghazi Select Committee as essentially a partisan witch-hunt, committee chairman Gowdy fired back. "Shut up talking about things that you don't know anything about," he said. "Unless you're on the committee, you have no idea what we've done, why we've done it, and what new facts we have found."
Clinton, of course, has used McCarthy's and Hanna's comments to her advantage at every opportunity, including in a campaign ad. “It's pretty clear that whatever they might have thought they were doing they ended up becoming a partisan arm of the Republican National Committee with an overwhelming focus on trying to — as they admitted — drive down my poll numbers,” she said over the weekend. “I will do my best to answer their questions, but I don't really know what their objective is right now.” Clinton will testify Thursday.
As for the objective, Gowdy made that clear: "Four dead Americans is more than enough work for me. [Clinton is] a witness. She was the secretary of state. You have to talk to her. But we have already talked to 50 people not named Clinton. We're going to talk to another couple of dozen not named Clinton." But Clinton also grossly politicized the attack that killed a U.S. ambassador and three others. She has much to answer for -The Patriot Post

Corrupt UN, Plans To Impose Illegal Global Climate Taxation
{rickwells.us} ~ We knew this was coming. Some details and information regarding the International Monetary Fund and their scheming in conjunction with the UN... the nObama regime and other criminally corrupt world leaders in the lead up to the Paris Climate Summit are starting to be revealed. It’s bringing with it even more reasons to be on alert to the upcoming global takeover. The ridiculous lie that Hussein nObama and his oligarchy comrades are simply concerned about the planet is now being forced into the light by the implementation of their plan, into the open for all to sneak a glimpse. Let there be no doubt, every single instance in which a claim was made by Hussein nObama or his henchmen that the planet is warming has been a deliberate deception aimed at reinforcing the lie upon which they will commit global fraud and the grandest of thefts. We are now begining to see just what they stand to gain and why they are as motivated as they are. nObama and his comrades, including Al Gore, George Soros and Maurice Strong, have a long history of interest in this shady climate trading “industry,” going back to his days on the board of directors of the Joyce Foundation. It was through that entity that their venture into the Chicago Climate Exchange was funded, a development ground for what is now being unleashed upon us. What stands before us are not public servants but rather some very public self-serving profiteers.        http://rickwells.us/archives/21031

Clinton Spokesliar Says She Wasn’t Advocating Gun Confiscation
{rickwells.us} ~ The tottering old Democrat, who obviously had never seen the question before he was handed it and told to read it to the disarmament criminal candidate, Hilly Clinton, is still making news... This pathetic useful idiot is still the focus of some remarks by her communications director Jen Palmieri, who attempted to say that Clinton wasn’t advocating for gun confiscation, which she most clearly was doing in a most specific way. She cites the Australian model, in which it is impossible for a private citizen to get their hands on a firearm, as an attractive option for the United States. Clinton also details the portion following the mass mandated disarmament “buy back” or surrender as being a “clamping down in the future” on who can then own a firearm. She and her syndicate comrades will decide who has the guns and it certainly won’t be the law-abiding American citizens. She also wants to bankrupt gun manufacturers, making them liable for the actions of evil people who misuse their products.       http://rickwells.us/archives/20996

Sen Durbin Calls For 100,000 Man Muslim Army Invasion Of America
{rickwells.us} ~ It’s our duty as Americans to turn our backs to the daggers, machetes and bomb belts of Arab terrorists and Senator Dick Durbin insists the time to do so is now... The Marxist tool of the anti-Americans is anxious to import their operatives and an army of 100,000 is a good place to start. They’ll bump that number up significantly next year, but they’ve got to start somewhere and those gang banging Central Americans and Mexicans can only be expected to do so much. There are a few key points this subversive trash chooses to leave out of his little lie fest which don’t support his invasion and don’t mesh with the false narrative he’s delivering. First of all, generally speaking, they’re not Syrians, they’re not refugees and they’re mostly terrorist-aged males. If they were really the displaced victims of war, they would be the ones remaining behind to fight and it would be their non-existent women and children who are being provided shelter. This is an invading army, impure and simple, whose enemy is Christian and Jewish America.        http://rickwells.us/archives/21012

New Documents Shine Light on White House Benghazi Scramble
{Amy Miller} ~ After the attacks on the US Embassy in Benghazi, Libya, the nObama Administration moved quickly to blame the carnage on “The Innocence of Muslims” video on YouTube. Remember?... The Administration attempted to blame the violence on “an awful video that we had nothing to do with” no less than seven times, even as it became abundantly clear that the murderers who laid waste to the compound were there on a mission, and not as part of a spontaneous protest. Now, new documents from the State Department, acquired by advocacy group Judicial Watch, show that the White House attempted to shuttle the blame onto another, more obscure YouTube video almost immediately after the attacks took place.

Multi-$Million Refugee Cash Leech – 10,000 Syrians "Inadequate”

So Are We Going to Do this Freedom of Navigation Operation or ...
{Aaron MacLean} ~ Well over a week ago it was leaked to the press that the White House had approved, in principle, of the Navy conducting so-called “Freedom of Navigation Operations”—FONOPS... within 12 nautical miles of the artificial islands China has been building in the South China Sea. The New York Times reported that any such operation had been delayed to avoid disrupting Xi Jinping’s visit to Washington. The Wall Street Journal said that a “U.S. official” claimed “that the operation could come within days.” Well, it’s been days. Days are about to turn into weeks. And, as Jeff Smith points out in a very good round-up of the whole crisis thus far, “What the White House has failed to appreciate throughout this drama is the longer it talks about FONOPS without actually conducting them, the more volatile the situation becomes, and the more pressure China’s leadership feels to publicly adopt ever more strident and entrenched opposition.” The South China Sea is scene to competing territorial claims by Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, Taiwan, and the People’s Republic of China itself. China’s claim, organized around its “Nine-Dash Line,” is by far the most aggressive, turning a vast portion of the Pacific that happens to be a vital transit route for international trade into, effectively, a Chinese lake.

Lawmakers Slam nObama for Using Troops as ‘Pawns’ in Spending
{Morgan Chalfant} ~ Republican lawmakers criticized President nObama Wednesday for promising to veto the defense policy bill that would authorize about $612 billion in defense funding for fiscal year 2016... Multiple GOP representatives, including members of the House Armed Services Committee, told the Washington Free Beacon Wednesday that the president’s promised veto has nothing do with America’s national security but is related to his effort to boost domestic funding for agencies such as the IRS and EPA. “I believe the president’s desire is to increase domestic spending and use this bill as leverage for him to be able to get the additional moneys for agencies like the EPA and the IRS,” Rep. Jeff Miller (R., Fla.), a senior member of the Armed Services Committee, said in a phone interview. “To use our troops and their families as pawns in this political battle, I think, is very dangerous for the president and I hope that his promises or threats don’t pan out and he ultimately signs it.”

DHS’ Jihadi Jeh Willing To Accept Dead Americans To Continue...
{rickwells.us} ~ The fact of the matter, as much as the regime might like to be able to substitute their fantasy for it, is that there is no way for the so-called “Syrian refugees” to be properly and sufficiently vetted to safeguard against terrorists... including those with ISIS connections, being imported into the US under their planned program. The witness testimonies agree, both in the past and including today, that they’re playing “Syrian roulette,” putting the American people in jeopardy and virtually assured of some paying for the regimes reckless pursuit of their agenda with their lives. Eight months ago, in February, in testimony before the House Committee on Homeland Security, Assistant FBI Director Michael Steinbach made it perfectly clear that the databases to conduct the vetting process for screening those individuals wishing to be allowed to immigrate to the US do not exist. There is simply no information to review due to the failed state status of Syria and the limited government presence. We also have a minimal amount of our own information due to our nominal presence in the area.       http://rickwells.us/archives/21094

 Israel Defending Itself
{Herbert London} ~ Recent reports have indicated that hundreds of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps troops entered Syria in early September. Moreover, the accord on intelligence among Russia, Iran, Iraq and Syria suggests Russian troops will be assisting the Iranians in the war against ISIS... That may not be all. Israeli officials are appropriately concerned that Russian troops will be operating in the Golan Heights along with Hezbollah and Assad-led Syrian forces. Israel is faced with the additional challenge of the expanded Russian presence in Syria, especially in the Latakia region, where in the past IDF forces destroyed arms convoys intended for Hezbollah. When Israeli forces returned fire on two Syrian positions near Quneitra, Russian President Vladimir Putin responded: “We respect Israel’s interests related to the Syrian civil war but we are concerned about its attacks on Syria.” Clearly this statement is mutually contradictory; if you are concerned about Israel’s interests than it must be protected by defensive military action. Nonetheless, this response stands as a warning signal. Certain attacks may be justified as long as they do not jeopardize the position and security of Syria’s President Bashar al Assad.        http://www.aim.org/guest-column/israel-defending-itself/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email101615&utm_medium=email

One US soldier killed in Iraq during rescue of more than 70 hostages
{FoxNews.com} ~ One U.S. Army Special Operator was killed in a rescue mission that freed as many as 70 ISIS hostages in Iraq, defense officials confirmed Thursday... It marked the first time a U.S. service member was killed in action during the anti-ISIS ground fight in Iraq. The Arab hostages were freed from an ISIS prison in northern Iraq near Hawijah. "People were chained to walls," one well-placed military source told Fox News. "A mass atrocity was averted," a senior U.S. defense source added. According to the Pentagon, rescuers "deliberately planned" the operation, and moved in when it was apparent that ISIS hostage takers were planning to kill the hostages. The senior defense official said the U.S. carried out airstrikes before and after the operation, destroying the prison afterwards.        http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/10/22/us-special-ops-rescue-hostages-in-iraq-defense-official-says/

{foxnews.com} ~ The Benghazi Committee set out to investigate why four Americans died in Benghazi September 11, 2012, not to damage a presidential candidate. Rightly or wrongly, their credibility has been called into question, including by statements from fellow Republicans.
.
What I’ll be watching for on Thursday is not questions about Hilly Clinton’s emails; but the fundamental question:  What were the Americans doing in Benghazi in the first place?  Consulates and embassy annexes are where diplomats issue visas and find lost luggage, and that’s clearly not what former special forces Americans were doing.
.
Who was Ambassador Stevens supposed to meet in Benghazi, and who was responsible for his security?
.
Which Libyan militia groups were we partnering with and who vetted them?
.
The committee should focus on what happened in the weeks leading up to the Benghazi attack. They should ask why Ambassador Stevens’ repeated calls for more security were ignored.
.
For over a year there have been unconfirmed reports that the Benghazi was a gun running operation to take Qaddafi’s abandoned weapons and turn them over to Syrian rebels. Is this what the American contractors were doing – running guns?
.
Were we working with and arming Libyan rebels who turned out to be Al Qaeda-type terrorists?  If that’s true, then not only was this foolish, it was illegal.
.
Some have said that all of this is reminiscent of Watergate. And yes, Secretary Clinton worked House Judiciary Committee as a 27-year-old staff attorney during the Watergate investigation.  But these are echoes not of Watergate, as some have claimed, but of the Iran-Contra affair.
.
The committee should focus on what happened in the weeks leading up to the Benghazi attack.
.
They should ask why Ambassador Stevens’ repeated calls for more security were ignored.
.
They should question why there was no rescue mission mounted while our men were under attack.
.
And, yes, they should ask who decided to lie about the events on September 11, 2012 being a planned terrorist attack and instead of using the lame excuse that they were the result of a YouTube video sparking a demonstration that got out of hand.
.
These questions have all been asked before but they have never answered.
.
Now, fast forward to October 22, 2015, the committee has new evidence, including Ambassador Stevens’ own emails. This time it will be difficult for any witness to keep dodging the questions.
.
Finally, and perhaps the most fundamental question of all – was the fiasco of the Libyan war another example of the nObama administration’s love affair with moderately radical Islamists? Has the nObama administration been willfully blind -- from the start -- to the dangers posed by all radical Islamists in Libya, in Egypt, in Syria, in Iraq, in Iran?
.
There is an overwhelming temptation for any politician in today’s Washington to be partisan.  But it was the same forty years ago during the Watergate scandal.
.
I know because I was there, working for Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger as a young aide in the West Wing.  It was a dark time not just for the Nixon team, but for the country.
.
The nation’s business was put on hold for well over a year while we investigated the president and his closest associates.
.
In the end, the system worked. Nixon resigned, a new president was sworn in and the rift was healed. It was due in no small part to the integrity of the Watergate Committee members – both Republican and Democrat.
.
Most of them were able to rise above politics and serve the nation’s business. A few, however, learned a different lesson – not the lesson that no one is above the law, but as long as you don’t get caught…
.
Was Secretary Clinton trying to hide something with her private email system? Perhaps. But that’s for the FBI to decide, not the House Republicans.

What Does nObama Aim to Accomplish in Afghanistan?
On Thursday, Barack nObama announced a major revision to his plan to withdraw virtually all American troops from Afghanistan by the end of his presidency. Instead, he will keep 5,500 troops there into 2017 and maintain the current force of 9,800 through "most of 2016." But for a man who clearly doesn't believe in American leadership in the world or defending our interests abroad, what does he intend to accomplish by leaving our men and women in harm's way?
If the U.S. has interests in securing victory in Afghanistan — and it does — nObama's move is at least a step back in the right direction. It appears he at least (partially) listened to his generals, which might be a first. nObama is not known for being persuaded by evidence. And perhaps he learned a little something from his disastrous choices in Iraq.
On the other hand, if his move is as half-hearted as we think it is, he's putting American lives on the line in a political concession meant to leave the problem for the next president. Remember that nObama's primary concern is always himself, and the only reason for any of his decisions is his own political benefit.

Second Republican Throws Clinton a Lifeline
Can it be this hard to provide a consistent rationale for the formation of the House Select Committee on Benghazi and the subsequent uncovering of Hilly Clinton's malfeasance? Evidently it is for some Republicans. Just two weeks after Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy torched his own bid for the speakership with boneheaded remarks about the effect the committee was having on Clinton's poll numbers, another Republican gave an in-kind donation to the next Clinton campaign ad. "This may not be politically correct, but I think that there was a big part of this investigation that was designed to go after people and an individual, Hilly Clinton," said Rep. Richard Hanna (R-NY). "After what Kevin McCarthy said, it's difficult to accept at least a part of it was not. I think that's the way Washington works. But you'd like to expect more from a committee that's spent millions of dollars and tons of time."
Is there a political angle to the committee's work? Of course. But it's definitely not the primary angle, and Republicans have a far better rationale to present to the public. Hilly Clinton denied security requests for Americans serving in Benghazi, blamed the whole episode on a YouTube video to bolster Barack nObama's "al-Qaida is on the run" political narrative before the 2012 election — practically spitting on the graves of four dead Americans — and covered it all up in part with her private email server. In other words, it's political because she made it so. Has it hurt her poll numbers? Yes, but that's because she's a liar, and because voters can tell the difference between real malfeasance on her part and a political witch hunt.
And yet the net effect of McCarthy's and now Hanna's comments is to give credence to Clinton's cries of victim hood. As she declared in the debate Tuesday, "[The Benghazi] committee is basically an arm of the Republican National Committee. It is a partisan vehicle ... to drive down my poll numbers." Look for Hanna's comments to show up alongside McCarthy's in another campaign ad for the Democrat frontrunner.   -Fox News

World-Renowned Physicist Breaks With nObama on Climate
Freeman Dyson, one of the world's foremost astrophysicists, doesn't always see eye to eye with his fellow liberals when it comes to global warming. He's been studying the climate for a quarter of a century, so his prodigious experience has helped shape his views on the environment. In a forward to a new paper by former IPCC member Indur Goklany, titled "Carbon Dioxide: The good news," Dyson reiterated his evidence-based belief that "carbon dioxide in the atmosphere does far more good than harm." He added, "I consider myself an unprejudiced person and to me these facts are obvious. But the same facts are not obvious to the majority of scientists and politicians who consider carbon dioxide to be evil and dangerous. The people who are supposed to be experts and who claim to understand the science are precisely the people who are blind to the evidence."
The veteran physicist expounded on these views in a subsequent interview with The Register. On the issue of climate models, Dyson observes, "What has happened in the past 10 years is that the discrepancies between what's observed and what's predicted have become much stronger." He then chided the opposition's inclination to silence dissenters, even bluntly opining, "I'm 100 percent Democrat myself, and I like nObama. But he took the wrong side on this issue, and the Republicans took the right side." Dyson says "coal is very unpleasant stuff" — something most everyone can agree on — but that doesn't mean it's a climate hazard. "Pollution is quite separate to the climate problem: one can be solved, and the other cannot, and the public doesn't understand that." We don't agree with everything Dyson advocates, but on this issue, he's spot on. Those who question the mainstream view shouldn't be placed on leave or, even worse, imprisoned. Such concrete, homogeneous mantras wouldn't have allowed Dyson to become the acclaimed physicist he is today. What we're seeing today is a Big Brotherly crackdown on "thought crime" — and a scientific scandal.   -Fox News

In Syria, a Cold War Redux
Remember when Barack nObama poked fun at Mitt Romney for saying Russia is our number one geopolitical foe? "You said Russia. Not al-Qaida. You said Russia," nObama taunted during the 2012 presidential debates. "The 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because the Cold War's been over for 20 years." Today, nObama looks more childish than ever, having invited the return of the Cold War through his refusal to acknowledge the Russian threat. Days into their air campaign in Syria, Vladimir Putin's forces have killed about 150 CIA-trained rebels. Russians killing soldiers linked to the CIA? Gee, when have we heard this before? The news comes as Head of the Cuban Armed Forces Gen. Leopoldo Cintras Frias traveled to Syria with a group of Cuban soldiers — not to help defeat the Islamic State as nObama might hope, but to help drive tanks Russia gave to Syrian dictator Basher al-Assad. Just whose interests are being furthered in Syria? The 1980s are indeed calling, but repeating that era now is a bad proposition. The Russians long ago took the measure of nObama, and our nation's leadership just isn't what it used to be.    -Fox News

Washington Post Gives Hilly Three Pinocchios for Gun Sales Claims
{Don Irvine} ~ Clinton made her statement during a Town Hall meeting, using the recent shootings in Oregon and South Carolina to decry what she called the “gun show loophole” that permits “person-to-person” sales by people who are not engaged in the business of selling firearms... The problem, as Kessler points out, is that the 40 percent figure is out of date and includes all gun transactions, not just sales. That change in results would give Clinton far less ammunition to use against the NRA and other pro-gun groups, as it would show that non-background check sales at gun shows aren’t nearly as high as she has been claiming, which virtually destroys her plea for stricter gun control measures.

Social Security Defaults Again on Its Promises: No COLA for 2016
{Bob Adelmann} ~ On Thursday the Social Security Administration announced that for the third time in six years there will be no COLA (Cost Of Living Adjustment) to beneficiaries’ checks next year... There was no COLA in 2010 or 2011, thanks to the government index used to determine whether an “adjustment” (increase) was justified, to offset inflation. This year’s culprit was the price of gasoline, which fell 23 percent, wiping out any chance for an increase in the checks going to more than 60 million recipients. Heroic and often invisible measures have been undertaken in recent years to cover up the program’s insolvency: raising retirement ages, increasing deductibles and co-pays in Social Security’s Medicare program, and forcing recipients to make do with less. According to the Senior Citizens League, those recipients have lost nearly a fourth of their buying power over the last 15 years, thanks to the rising cost of housing and medical expenses. Since 2000, housing costs for seniors have increased by 44 percent, heating oil by 159 percent, eggs by 117 percent, and gasoline by 76 percent. Since then, however, Social Security’s COLAs have averaged just 2.2 percent per year.        http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/politics/item/21780-social-security-defaulting-again-on-its-promises-no-cola-for-2016

16 States Now Looking to Ban Sharia Law
{Tim Brown} ~ The threat is very real to impose Islamic Sharia law in America and thankfully at least sixteen states realize the threat and are seeking to squash it before it can gain any more momentum... Back in September, Texas stood up against any foreign law being implemented, including Sharia, and cries of the Muslims were heard across the nation, including those from designated terror group the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). But Texas wouldn't back down and have determined that they won't have Sharia enforcement in their state. Alabama banned Sharia after voters passed a measure to add an amendment to their state constitution. We hope they'll stand for that a little better than they did their marriage amendment.        http://freedomoutpost.com/2015/10/16-states-now-looking-to-ban-sharia-law/

Canada election: networks call victory for Liberals and Trudeau
{Robert Spencer} ~ That’s it for freedom, worldwide. Justin Trudeau is a wholly owned and operated subsidiary of Islamic supremacists... Harper’s Canada was the last outpost, the last place where government was reasonably sane regarding the jihad threat. Now it is up to individuals to stand, no matter how much it costs them, against the forces of oppression and authoritarianism that will become increasingly aggressive, and soon. Many who were thought to be true have already been proven false, and this will continue: these are and will increasingly be the times that try men’s souls. The cowardice of many will be exposed, and it will surprise those who thought they were standing tall. But the human spirit, the spirit of freedom, will never be wholly extinguished — despite the best efforts of the forces of authoritarianism and oppression. We can thank nObama getting involved in the Canadian election.        http://www.jihadwatch.org/2015/10/canada-election-networks-call-victory-for-liberals-and-trudeau

hanoi-Kerry, Israeli Arabs and the separation delusion
{Caroline Glick} ~ Israel’s political leaders have rightly expressed anger at the US State Department’s hostile characterizations of the Palestinian terrorist onslaught... Secretary of State hanoi-John Kerry’s claims, parroted by his spokesmen, that Israel is either entirely to blame for Palestinian terrorism or shares the blame equally with the Palestinians, are baseless lies. hanoi-Kerry and his spokesmen have alleged that the current Palestinian convulsion of murderous violence is a product of “a massive increase in settlements.” Yet as Haaretz reported this week, Israel has built fewer homes for Jews in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria since 2009, when Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu (and President Barack nObama) entered office, than it had since 1995. The steep increase in the Jewish population in the areas is almost entirely the result of Jewish women having babies.

Senate Dems block anti-sanctuary city bill
{foxnews.com} ~ Senate Democrats on Tuesday blocked a Republican-backed bill that would crack down on so-called sanctuary cities by threatening to withhold funds to local governments that don't cooperate with federal immigration officials... The bill failed on a 54-45 vote. It needed 60 to advance. The Stop Sanctuary Cities Act became a lightning rod issue ahead of the vote, as GOP sponsors tried to peel off just a few Democrats to support it while Democratic leaders blasted the legislation as counterproductive. The White House issued a formal veto threat Tuesday morning, while the chamber's top Democrat tried to discredit the measure by calling it "The Donald Trump Act." Now you all know who not to vote for or vote out of the Senate. Pass it on.

 nObama’s shameful Afghanistan retreat...
{Frederick W. Kagan} ~ The headlines should read: “nObama to slash U.S. troops in Afghanistan by over 40% weeks before he hands over responsibility to a new President.”... Instead they say: “nObama extends U.S. military presence in Afghanistan.” Talk about controlling the narrative. We’re missing the plot here. The President announced on Thursday the most irresponsible decision he could have made about Afghanistan — second only to the promise he had made earlier to pull almost all U.S. troops. The right decision would have been to keep forces at current levels, or, better, send reinforcements. For we are losing in Afghanistan, again. Security is deteriorating. The Taliban seized and briefly held the capital of an important province north of Kabul. They are threatening another one a short drive southwest of Kabul. U.S. forces destroyed two Al Qaeda training camps in Kandahar, one very large. The Islamic State controls part of Nangarhar Province, east of Kabul. Afghan security forces cannot hold what they have, let alone regain what they have lost.

Academic Stalinism and its Dangerous Crackpots
{David Limbaugh} ~ There are many opinionated people on each side of the political spectrum, including me, but I haven’t heard of any conservatives trying to muzzle leftists. Liberals on the other hand? Ha... Man-made global warming liberals ridicule skeptics as corrupt or brain-dead deniers, and their advocate in chief, President nObama, habitually derides conservatives for rejecting his hysterical narrative on climate change. Don’t assume they do this solely for political advantage. It can be far more serious than that. A claque of 20 climate scientists, in an open letter, urged nObama and Attorney General Loretta Lynch to use the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act to criminally investigate “corporations and other organizations that have knowingly deceived the American people about the risks of climate change.”         http://www.wnd.com/2015/10/academic-stalinism-and-its-dangerous-crackpots/

Clinton State Depart approved weapons shipment to Libya despite ban
{ John Solomon and Jeffrey Scott Shapiro} ~ The State Department initially approved a weapons shipment from a California company to Libyans seeking to oust Moammar Gadhafi in 2011 even though a United Nations arms ban was in place... according to memos recovered from the burned-out compound in Benghazi. The documents, obtained by The Washington Times, show U.S. diplomats at the Benghazi compound were keeping track of several potential U.S.-sanctioned shipments to allies, one or more of which were destined for the Transitional National Council, the Libyan movement that was seeking to oust Gadhafi and form a new government. At least one of those shipments, kept in a file marked “arms deal,” was supposed to come from Dolarian Capital Inc. of Fresno, California, according to an end use certificate from the State Department’s office of defense trade controls licensing that was contained in the file.       http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/oct/20/hillary-clinton-state-department-approved-us-weapo/?page=all#pagebreak

Rich and Poor
Tom Mclaughlin
.
{tommclaughlin.blogspot.com} ~ Our federal government classified me as poor when I moved to Maine in August, 1977. My family of four was “under the poverty line” according to their way of measuring things. I had just taken a job as Director of Special Education for Maine School Administrative District #72 in Fryeburg, Maine at an annual salary of $9200. With four individuals to feed, clothe, and house, our federal government said I was poor and eligible for lots of programs which we didn’t use. That our daughter, Annie, was still in utero portended deeper “poverty” when she was to be born in December. Then our son, Ryan, came along five years later when my salary was still about the same. As a family of six, we must have gone from poor to very poor in the eyes of government.
.
money-from-poors.jpg
.
Rather than take assistance from taxpayers, I chose to take on additional work. For most of my teaching career, I carried two or three part-time jobs as a caretaker, a writer, and a ski instructor — working all four simultaneously during several of those years. After all the kids were in school, my wife took on various part time jobs as well. She waitressed, cleaned houses, and drove a school bus before going back to school herself to become a therapist. She’s been doing that for almost twenty years, the last five or so part time. Each of us now works the equivalent of a half time job — roughly twenty hours a week. Now our federal government considers me rich because our combined household income is in the top quintile according the census statistics. I don’t worry about bills because my wife and I made it a priority to pay them off some time ago.

.
Ours is a common story. The “poor” don’t remain poor unless they stay on government programs. If they work, they often become “rich.”

Angus Deaton
.
Why tell you all this? Because it was announced last week that Princeton University’s Angus Deaton was awarded the Nobel Prize for Economics, in part because of his work measuring poverty. I didn’t expect to agree with Deaton on much considering the Nobel committee awarded a previous economics prize to Paul Krugman, but I looked him up anyway and found his observations quite reasonable. The first thing I came to was a 2003 essay he wrote called “Measuring Poverty.” In it, Deaton writes:
.
paul-krugman-is-a-dumbass.jpg
.
“Everyone has some idea what poverty is, and most people have little difficulty answering the question, ‘Do you consider yourself poor?’ although some people need a moment or two to think about it. Nor do people find it hard to answer the same question about their neighbors or other people that they know. Yet these simple ideas turn out to be hard to extend to countries, and harder still to the world as a whole.”
.
AmericanPovertyChart.png
.
International agencies like the United Nations and the World Bank work mainly to mitigate poverty rather than spur economic development. Doing so, they allow local people to self-identify according to Deaton and that’s a problem, he says:  “…It is not possible to push this local poverty identification too far. If the sums to be distributed are large enough, they become worth misappropriating, and there is an incentive for people to identify their friends and relatives (or themselves) as poor. Similarly, some NGOs have discovered that, if they use the poverty identification to enroll people into employment or training schemes, then after a few visits everyone is reported to be poor.”
.

.
I would point out here that in local school districts there is a similar phenomenon — applications for free and reduced lunches sent to each family each September are not vetted. I’ve asked people in at least three Maine districts and none vet the applications. They don’t check to see if families fudge their income/assets because the district qualifies for lots of additional federal and state aid based on percentage “qualifying” for free or reduced lunch.
.
Democritus.jpg
.
When I was teaching economics, we found it necessary to define poverty. Students and I agreed that one is poor if he lacks sufficient funds to purchase food, clothing, shelter, and medical care to sustain life. We also agreed that someone is rich if he has enough for those basic needs — and some left over. He’s a little rich if he has a little left, and very rich if he has a lot left.
.
quote-Benjamin-Franklin-content-makes-poor-men-rich-discontent-makes-102938.png
.
There’s another definition on which my wife and I agree: We’re rich, not just because we have everything we need and some left over, but also because we have everything we want — everything that money can buy, at least. Some may say our wants are modest and maybe they are, but they’re ours. They were established during lean times when our family was young and they haven’t changed much. We learned to live on less and haven’t forgotten how. We learned to be happy with what we have, and that became the habit of a lifetime.

Many Would Vote Socialist

I’ve seen it on the Internet, on television how so many in this country are proud socialists, hell Congress people in Washington are members of the Socialist Party. I don’t understand that. How can a socialist be voted for and place his/her hand on the Bible and swear an oath to this country when they don’t believe in our founding principals? With the wars we have endured, our loved ones have fought in, how can there be so many damn socialists, Marxist, communists, muslims living here? It’s like a mockery to our country, to those who served..Is it any wonder that BHO was elected without ever being vetted, or re-elected still basically a mystery, or that if he could run again would be re-elected a third time? In a country such as ours countless numbers believing in the viability of a person like Obama, or his wife, or those like Clinton, Kerry, Cummings, Feinstein, etc. is unbelievable. These politicians only believe in dominance, the acquisition of power by whatever means. They gain power by depriving us of ours. They say one thing, telling what people want to hear, then do the opposite. They are excellent at the game of mixing a little truth between lies, and doing it in an attractive way to make it eagerly desired and consumed as a liars sandwich to the gullible, so they are not dissuaded to the contrary. They believe in spite of what is revealed by their eyes, in spite of what they hear, in spite of living conditions, high prices and staggering debt. Yet all the evidence to the contrary of their darkened intellect is still not entirely dissuasive..I find it amazing how many of those I come in contact with, in the course of a week, that don’t give a damn about the news, they never listen to it on the radio or television, they listen only to music or play silly kids games on their computers or phones. If we were to be attacked they wouldn’t know about it till it was on them, these people vote, they have no idea what is at stake, how their uninformed vote will help or hurt this country. I included help, giving a few the benefit of the doubt, because they almost always will vote for a useless, dangerous leftist. They have no idea, or apparently care that the Democrat Party has become a Socialist Party and a detriment to this country and all it stands for, or maybe I should say, after all this unnecessary time with Barack Hussein Obama, what it use to stand for.

VOTERS SAY HILLY LIED ON LIBYA, BUT SPLIT ON PROBE   In the latest Fox News poll, negative sentiment about Hilly Clinton’s honesty about the Benghazi attack hits a new high. Sixty percent of those polled do not believe Clinton has been honest about the State Department’s role in the attack that killed four Americans in 2012, but that doesn’t mean they want anyone to do anything about it. The poll shows a split when it comes to continuing the congressional investigation. Fifty percent say it’s time to move on, while 46 percent say they should keep investigating, nearly unchanged from July.
Clinton’s campaign is tap dancing on remarks made by Republican Rep. Richard Hanna on a radio show in his Central New York district. Hannah accused Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy of having been unintentionally truthful when he took credit for helping to organize the inquest into the Benghazi attacks as an intentional effort to ruin Clinton. The poll was taken just ahead of the Oct. 14 Democratic debate, where the topic was briefly broached.

Debate overstate -  WaPo: “If Hilly Rodham Clinton wins the Democratic presidential nomination, her Republican opponents will not let her off so easy. On Tuesday night in Las Vegas, Clinton faced a set of Democratic rivals who seemed to lack the skill — or the will — to challenge her about her record on foreign policy, her changes in position, her handling of government data on a private e-mail server, or her claim to be an ‘outsider’ after two decades in national politics. When the former secretary of state praised Libya — now a cauldron of chaos and Islamist militias — as ‘smart power at its best,’ nobody scoffed. When she was challenged about her e-mail practices, a controversy that has concerned many voters, top rival Bernie Sanders actually stepped in to dismiss the question. Americans are ‘tired of hearing about’ it, he said.”  -Fox News

The Judge’s Ruling: Unhappy Hilly -  Fox News Senior Judicial Analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano explores an unhappy cycle for the presumptive Democratic nominee: “No Republican dirty trickster could have put her into the legal and political mess into which she has put herself. Her surreptitious refusal to follow federal law and her congenital lying about it have caught up with her…She is unhappy because only Democratic die-hards believe her.  nObama Guilty Of Military Malpractice In Afghanistan
{rickwells.us} ~ Senator Jeff Sessions agrees with military advisers, experts and virtually everybody else outside of the circle of complicit cowards managing our self-defeating foreign policy that Hussein nObama has been a disaster for our military... He points to the situation in Afghanistan in particular. For many of us, watching the phony nObama speak as if he’s a wise statesman acting on behalf of American interests is gut wrenching. He didn’t change course for the benefit of our nation but rather in recognition of the reality that politically, the only metric that matters to him, he simply wasn’t willing to take the hit for another fiasco like he created in Iraq. Perhaps he feared an outcry by some of his yet to be fully compromised military leaders or even an uprising among the more unruly members of the normally timid Congress. nObama’s still dooming our efforts to failure; it’s only going to be happening on a slightly expanded time frame, the remainder of the national nObama nightmare. By the time we are finally free of his curse, his successor will have a much more difficult task to ever regain even the current levels of limited control.        http://rickwells.us/archives/20863

The Disastrous Effects of Sanctuary Cities
{leanrightamerica.org} ~ Americans were outraged at the story of Kate Steinle, a young woman senselessly murdered in San Francisco by an illegal immigrant who’s been deported several times... The outrage came from San Francisco’s status as a so-called sanctuary city and their refusal to cooperate with federal immigration authorities. If they had, there’s a good chance Steinle would be alive today. If a new report from the Center for Immigration Studies has it right, though, these sanctuary cities have a long history of endangering Americans. Judicial Watch used numbers from the CIS to present some tragic findings. Among them, that the nation’s 340 sanctuary cities have released 9,295 illegal immigrants who should have been held in custody for Immigration and Customs Enforcement deportation. Worse, more than half of these offenders had priors on their records. Worst of all, more than 2,000 of these criminals were arrested again in the next eight months. Where are they now? Who knows? These numbers come along as the nObama administration moves forward with a plan to release 6,000 nonviolent federal inmates over the next few months. As part of an effort to thin out the prison population, the Justice Department is looking at federal drug offenders as the first likely candidates for release. But hidden inside that number is another one that has Republican lawmakers deeply concerned.

'Huge mistake!' That time Hillary worked with jihadists
{GREG COROMBOS} ~ The man who once spearheaded congressional efforts to strengthen American intelligence is hammering former Secretary of State Hilly Clinton for her description of the U.S. mission in Libya... at the recent Democratic debate and blames both Clinton and President nObama for unnecessarily turning a reluctant ally into a hotbed for jihadism. During the first Democratic presidential debate on Oct. 13, Clinton vigorously defended the nObama administration’s decision to intervene in Libya and ultimately force the overthrow and killing of longtime dictator Moammar Gadhafi. “Our response, which I think was smart power at its best, is that the United States will not lead this. We will provide essential, unique capabilities that we have, but the Europeans and the Arabs had to be first over the line. We did not put one single American soldier on the ground in Libya,” said Clinton at the debate. Hoekstra was stunned. “If this is smart power, I’d hate to see what dumb power would be,” he said, slamming Clinton for touting America as a follower instead of a leader.

Women of Courage Betrayed by U.S. and the Media
{George Phillips} ~ Pope Francis, on his recent trip to Cuba, failed to embrace publicly the world famous "Ladies in White" ("Damas de Blanco") -- the wives and relatives of Cuba's jailed dissidents... "Ladies in White" was formed by Berta Soler in 2003 after 75 human rights activists and journalists were sent to prison by the Cuban government. The men in their family had been jailed for being activists. The "Ladies in White" were peacefully calling for their release. This year, for twenty straight Sundays between April and August, members of the "Ladies in White" were arrested as well -- for leading protests against the Castro regime for having imprisoned their family members and for suppressing human rights. These women have also been routinely harassed and beaten during their peaceful efforts to stand for freedom.        http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/6700/women-of-courage

MSNBC Airs Palestinian Jihad Propaganda Map
{pamelageller.com} ~ Last Friday, MSNBC aired a segment featuring a Palestinian propaganda map that is a total fabrication, a pack of lies that contradicts established historical fact and is part of The Political Swindle of the Century, a.k.a “The Plight of The Palestinian People.”... Watch this MSNBC “news segment.” The maps they show of the steady diminishing of Palestinian territory at the hands of Israel are, quite simply, lies. The fallaciousness of the map MSNBC used is demonstrated by one simple fact: the flag of Palestine before 1948 featured the Star of David. This is further proof (as if we needed any more) of the falsity of the vicious historical revisionism by the Muslim world to erase the Jewish State and create a mythical Islamic narrative surrounding five thousand years of Jewish history.

Overstated benefits and underestimated costs of top income tax hikes
{Aparna Mathur} ~ Increasing tax rates on top earners is often considered a panacea for many social ills, but particularly for addressing the issue of income inequality... In their 2011 article, economists Peter Diamond and Emmanuel Saez made the case that in order to maximize social welfare, high income earners should face high and rising marginal tax rates on earnings and the earnings of low income families should be subsidized. They recommended that the socially optimal tax rate on high earners should be set between 50 to 70 percent. In another paper, Thomas Piketty and colleagues argue that in fact the top rate could be set above 80 percent in order to reduce income concentration at the top and help the bottom 99 percent. Thomas Piketty makes a similar point in his book, Capital in the Twenty-First Century, suggesting that the top rate should be over 80 percent on top incomes, and at 50 to 60 percent on incomes above $200,000. This should be combined with a global wealth tax. The implicit assumption is that by taxing high incomes, governments can raise more revenues which can then be used to redistribute money to the poor. Logically, this would suggest that high tax rates should reduce income inequality. However, a new analysis using a simulation model from the Tax Policy Center shows that such increases in the top tax rate are unlikely to make a dent in income inequality in any significant manner. Why don’t taxes matter for inequality? Here are some possible reasons why.

 nObamacare Co-ops Dropping Like Flies
{Kemberlee Kaye} ~ Seems like only yesterday we were reporting the fifth state level health insurance co-op closingin Kentucky. Since Thursday, the co-op closure toll has jumped to eight... Twenty-three tax-payer funded co-ops were created under nObamacare. Last year, Forbes Opinion Editor Avik Roy testified before Congress saying, “there are fundamental flaws in the way the co-op program was designed.” With eight co-ops announcing they’ll be closing up shop by year end and more closures looming, Roy’s year-and-a-half-old testimony is particularly haunting:

 ISIS Fires Up Palestinians
{Bassam Tawil} ~ By now, it has become clear that our young Palestinian men and women have learned a lot from the Islamic State (ISIS) terror group... This new "intifada" that some Palestinians are now waging against Israel should be seen in the context of the wider jihad that is being waged by the Islamic State, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Boko Haram and Al-Qaeda against the "infidels, Zionists, apostates, Crusaders" and against non-extremist Muslims. The tactics employed by Palestinian youths over the past two weeks show that they are doing their utmost to copy the crimes and atrocities committed by the Islamic State in Syria, Iraq, Libya and other Arab countries.        http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/6712/palestinians-islamic-state

Judge Jeanine – Just Let Trey Gowdy Do His Job...
{rickwells.us} ~ Judge Jeanine Pirro plays a clip of Hilly Clinton, engaged in her common practice of lying about her criminal activities, in which she says she really doesn’t know what the objective of the Benghazi hearings is... She’s going to “just do her best” to answer questions, but reminds us that there have been seven previous, “show” inquiries before. She plays an excerpt of the debate stunt of commie Bernie Sanders, his declaration that “The American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails,” including the associated, mind-searing, “cackle of innocence” afterwards. Pirro asks Sanders why he retreated at the heart of the battle if he were actually fighting to be the president. Of course he’s not; his purpose is to provide cover for Clinton while simultaneously laying the groundwork for the future of the Democrats, directing their positions even further to the left. He’s not really a candidate in the purest sense of the word but a political tool that happens to be doing better than expected in the taker-win-all world of Democrat Marxism.        http://rickwells.us/archives/20923

Iranian Leaders Refuse To Uphold Nuclear Deal
{Adam Kredo} ~ Senior Iranian officials continue to lash out against the recent nuclear deal even as the nObama administration begins to implement it, according to a series of statements by the Islamic Republic’s leaders... The aggressive rhetoric comes as the nObama administration celebrated on Sunday the implementation of the deal, hailing it as a “milestone” in U.S. diplomatic history. However, Iran has balked. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei took to his Twitter and Facebook pages to post an announcement titled, “Negotiation with America is Forbidden,” according to translations of the documents provided by the Middle East Media Research Institute. Other Iranian officials have demanded that the U.S. completely terminate economic sanctions, rather than suspend them, per the nuclear deal. Their writing their own deal.

{townhall.com} ~ Hilly Clinton revealed on Wednesday that she opposes the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal, providing just the latest evidence that she is little more than political ambition wrapped in a pantsuit.
.
Pay attention to the press coverage, because it's fascinating: Nobody takes Clinton at her word. I'm not just referring to her conservative critics.
.
Slate's Jim Newell asks, "Will anyone find Clinton's position convincing?" The question is purely rhetorical. The article is headlined "Hilly Clinton Comes Out Against TPP, at Least Until the Democratic Convention."
.
In "First Read," a newsletter put out by "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd and his colleagues, the lead item on Thursday was titled "Why Clinton's Trade Flip-Flop Is So Unbelievable." They write:
.
"Yes, Hilly Clinton's new opposition to the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade accord cleans up something she needed to do before next week's first Democratic debate. And, yes, it puts pressure on Vice President loose lips-Joe Biden getting into the race (because he'd be on the only major candidate in support of TPP). But make no mistake: This flip-flop isn't believable at all."
.
Clinton had long touted TPP as "the gold standard" of trade deals. A tally by CNN in June found at least 45 instances where she had plumped, praised, pushed or otherwise promoted the agreement. That, of course, would make sense given that she was secretary of state when it was being crafted and had a big role in selling it.
.
After she left the administration, Clinton said she wouldn't take a position on TPP until it was done. She couldn't put it off any longer, so she's finally taking a stand. Well, maybe not a stand. It's more like a modified crouch.
.
Here's how she explained her position on PBS: "As of today, I am not in favor of what I have learned about it."
.
It's hard to say exactly how long it will be before that cri de coeur replaces William Jennings Bryan's declaration "You shall not crucify mankind upon a cross of gold" as the ne plus ultra of political passion and principle, but my hunch is it will take a while.
.
Clinton went on to explain that she was "worried that the pharmaceutical companies may have gotten more benefits, and patients and consumers fewer." She also said she was deeply worried about safeguards against "currency manipulation" not being part of the deal.
.
But as even the reliably liberal writers at Vox.com note, this makes no sense. The provisions -- or lack thereof -- on currency manipulation are no different than they were when then-Secretary Clinton was calling TPP the "gold standard." Meanwhile, the provisions on pharmaceutical companies are tougher than what the administration asked for.
.
As Vox's Timothy Lee notes, Clinton is either making up reasons to oppose TPP now, or she was utterly ineffectual then -- i.e., when she could have made a difference inside the administration.
.
I think this is a false choice; both things are probably true.
.
In fact, finding evidence that Clinton operates this way is like looking for evidence that fire is hot. In 2008, when it was in her interest, Clinton was against federal "blanket rules" on guns; now she's making extra-constitutional gun-grabbing the centerpiece of her campaign (at least this week, while a recent mass murder is still fresh in our memories). She long opposed same-sex marriage on principle, until the times required a new position. She initially thought the undercover videos of Planned Parenthood were "disturbing." But within 48 hours, she was a stalwart defender of Planned Parenthood. As more -- and more disturbing -- videos emerged, she grew more adamant that the outrage wasn't the fetal organ harvesting, but the videos exposing them.
.
And so on: the driver's licenses for undocumented immigrants, the Iraq War, NAFTA, taking credit for regime change in Libya, her ever-shifting stories about her email server. Hilly Clinton is like a lava lamp. Don't like what you're seeing at the moment? Wait a minute. Just don't expect anything to last.
.
But all of this misses what I find so fascinating. With most of these examples, it's almost impossible to find someone who takes what Clinton says or does at face value. If you're not on her payroll, or auditioning to get on it one day, or just painfully naive, you simply start from the assumption that Clinton is unencumbered by any principles that might prove inconvenient to her political ambitions.

Is that our future as well?  Well, imo, we're already there. The GOP has been to the far left of their constituents since 2011.

Poll: Hilly still number one, but… -  Fox News polling potentate Dana Blanton writes about the new national Fox News Poll out today: “Vice President loose lips-Joe Biden trails Hilly Clinton for the Democratic nomination, yet he looks more electable than the former secretary of state against top Republicans. … Clinton remains the front-runner among Democratic primary voters (45 percent), with Bernie Sanders (25 percent) and loose lips-Biden (19 percent) behind her by about 20 percentage points. That’s almost identical to where things stood three weeks ago. In hypothetical 2016 matchups with top-tier Republicans, Clinton trails all the Republicans tested. She trails Ben Carson by 11 points and Donald Trump by 5 points. Jeb Bush has a 4-point edge over Clinton, while Carly Fiorina is up by 3 points. loose lips-Biden fares better. He leads Trump by 13 points and tops Bush by 5 points. loose lips-Biden is preferred over both Fiorina and Carson by 4 points. And loose lips-Biden narrowly bests Marco Rubio by 1 point.”  -Fox News

TRUMPUBLICANS DIG IN AGAINST RYAN   Immigration activists in the GOP are drawing a harder line against the idea of Rep. Paul Ryan as a unity candidate for House speaker – evidence of how defining the issue has become for the party, particularly the quarter backing presidential frontrunner Donald Trump.
Ryan, a staunch social conservative who has been a hero on the right for his aggressive stances on entitlement programs, finds himself on the other side of the top issue for Trump’s wing of the party. Pro-Trump groupshave been hammering Ryan, and will be using this week’s congressional recess to try to force Ryan out of the race. Trump who on Sunday had seemingly endorsed Ryan, switched on Monday, saying he was “a little concerned” about what he said was Ryan’s “very weak” stance on “amnesty.”
As Joel Gehrke reports, their chances of success are good.
Ryan has made it clear that he won’t take the gig without support from the immigration hardliners. So if they don’t want him, Ryan is likely to stay where he is. Is there any candidate who would meet the demands of the few dozen immigration absolutists but could still garner support from the two hundred other members? Not anytime soon.

 nObama: Christians threaten nation
{Bryan Fischer} ~ If you have ever wondered whether President nObama has an abiding hostility to people of Christian faith, wonder no more. He believes we are a threat to national security... If you are a sincerely devoted follower of Jesus Christ, your president believes you are a potential domestic terrorist. I do not exaggerate. In a gathering at George Washington University this week, nObama's assistant attorney general for national security, John Carlin, revealed that the Department of Justice is creating a brand new position just to monitor us. The position, domestic terrorism counsel, will be created to combat the "real and present threat" of domestic terrorism. And where, pray tell, does this threat come from? From the Muslim Brotherhood, which has a stated goal of exterminating Western civilization and sabotaging our miserable house from within? Nope. From ISIS, which is actively recruiting jihadists in all 50 states? Nope. Jihadists who are sneaking into the United States disguised as Syrian refugees? Nope. No, the real threat to our national security, according to our president and his minions, is coming from the Family Research Council and the American Family Association.        http://www.onenewsnow.com/perspectives/bryan-fischer/2015/10/16/obama-christians-threaten-nation?utm_source=OneNewsNow&utm_medium=email&utm_term=16782242&utm_content=565493864984&utm_campaign=21942

 WH immigration stance - pro-Muslim, anti-Christian?
{Chad Groening} ~ An immigration enforcement activist is critical of the nObama administration for moving forward with plans to accept thousands of "refugees" from predominantly Muslim countries while denying persecuted Christians the same status... "The Muslim illegal alien invasion of Europe is absolutely like some type of science fiction film of a grim future that people saw coming," laments William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC. "Large mobs of people [are] just completely overwhelming places in Germany and Italy and Switzerland and Sweden and England – and it's crazy. So that's America's future." Indeed, Germany is experiencing the consequences of allowing hundreds of thousands of refugees from Syria and other Muslim nations into the country. Almost 600,000 migrants have entered Europe's most prosperous country this year, compelling the German legislature to pass a bill aimed at cutting red tape, speeding up deportations of rejected applicants, and curbing cash benefits.        http://www.onenewsnow.com/politics-govt/2015/10/16/wh-immigration-stance-pro-muslim-anti-christian?utm_source=OneNewsNow&utm_medium=email&utm_term=16782242&utm_content=565493864984&utm_campaign=21942

Iran Releases Footage of Underground Missile Base
{LESLIE HALE} ~  At first glance it looks like the set of a James Bond movie -- a seemingly impregnable mountain base packed full of uniformed men and sinister-looking missiles on their launch vehicles parked along a long tunnel buried deep underground... But this is in fact a real-life missile facility in Iran, according to the country's semi-official FARS news agency. In a rare moment of openness, Iran on Wednesday broadcast pictures from The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force of a tunnel reportedly dug some 1,640 feet (500 meters) under a mountain.

FBI Agent’s Bombshell: Hilly Could Be Going To Jail For 10 Years
{Kevin Whitson} ~ As the investigation into the “gross negligence” of Hilly Clinton’s handling of classified material continues, one anonymous FBI agent says she could be facing 10 years in jail under the Espionage Act... The Act, according to the FBI agent, requires one who discovers the negligence to inform superiors. In the case of the alleged mishandling of classified documents and emails, Clinton would have needed to inform her only superior, the president, and he stated last week that he was not informed. According to the Daily Mail, “Obama said flatly during a ‘60 Minutes‘ interview on Sunday that ‘No,’ he did not know Clinton sidestepped security protocols with her a home-brew email setup while she was his secretary of state.” Under conditions of anonymity, the FBI agent stated, “If investigators conclude that the former secretary Clinton was criminally careless in how she approached the security of the sensitive documents in her possession, then this part of the law could be used to prosecute her.”

Hilly Double Standard - Above Espionage Law of The Little People
{rickwells.us} ~ CNBC hosted a Today Show Hilly Clinton public relations event, a choreographed faux-town hall complete with planted questions on the hot topic of the day, gun control... But the media puppeteers were just getting warmed up. At the Hilly Clinton coronation that passes only under the most generous of definitions as a debate, even one of the candidates, Jim Webb, noticed that Clinton seemed to know in advance the nature of the questions and was awfully well prepared to the point of him questioning whether there was collusion between CNN and the Clinton campaign. It would be a shocker if there weren’t impropriety but just giving their criminal candidate the answers and an unfair advantage wouldn’t be enough to chase away the corruption demons which are following her around involving her many espionage violations. They used the staged event to announce to all Democrats who hadn’t dozed off that their top two communist candidates both agree. Exposing our national secrets to the rest of the world in the interest of hiding what you’re doing from the American people is nothing that should intrude into a presidential campaign.

 Creepy Clinton Preparing Insanity Defense?...
{rickwells.us} ~ Jake Tapper is attempting to conduct a serious interview about what should be a most serious topic for Hilly Clinton, the investigation into the scandal that will likely end her bid to be the first woman president... and which could simultaneously land her in a federal prison on espionage convictions. He references the comments of Bernie Sanders during the Democrat debates, the suspiciously contrived appearing assertion that he believes we’ve heard enough about her email crimes. That reference wasn’t made in a joking manner but Clinton gets a big kick out of it, to the point of being uncomfortably creepy. She cackles away as if she’s on some kind of medication or suffering from a mental condition. Could she be attempting to lay the groundwork for her insanity defense? Liberalism is a mental illness but it is not recognized as sufficiently debilitating to be used as a defense in court.        http://rickwells.us/archives/20830

Congress Looks to Cut Aid to Palestinians Amid Terror Campaign
{Adam Kredo} ~ Momentum is building on Capitol Hill for a new congressional resolution that would cut more than $5 billion in U.S. aid to the Palestinians as a result of an increase in violence that has claimed the lives of at least eight Israelis and wounded many more... according to a copy of the measure viewed by the Free Beacon. The bill comes amid criticism from lawmakers about the nObama administration’s response to the terrorism and efforts to blame Israel for the violence. Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Tex.), among others, has demanded that Secretary of State hanoi-John Kerry resign his post in light of accusations by the administration that Israel has fostered the violence as a result of its policies to combat Palestinian terrorism.        http://freebeacon.com/issues/congress-looks-to-cut-u-s-aid-to-palestinians-amid-terror-campaign/

nObama does quick U-turn on prison pork removal
{DOUGLAS ERNST} ~ The nObama administration did a rapid U-turn on its decision to remove pork products from federal prisons after a few questions from Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley... The federal Bureau of Prisons’ reversal of the Oct. 1 menu change comes just one week after its spokesman, Edmond Ross, said pork was the “lowest-rated” food among inmates. “To corroborate the validity of the claim that prisoners indicated a lack of interest in pork products, I am requesting copies of the prisoner surveys and responses that were used to support the determination to no longer serve pork in federal prisons,” the Republican senator wrote to the agency on Thursday, the Washington Post reported. “Please provide any economic evaluations the Bureau of Prisons has relied on that detail the cost of pork as compared to beef, chicken, and non-meat products such as tofu and soy products.” Pig products were back on the menu within hours of the letter’s publication.

Dem Party Committee woman says MGMT's in tank for Hilly
{Jeff Dunetz} ~ One of the key things about working for one of the party organizations like the RNC or the DNC is one is not supposed to show any favoritism to one candidate or another... The job of the party is to fundraise and to provide structure, but not to select candidates (the establishment who pushes one candidate over the other is not the party organization it’s the party moneymen. According to David Martosko, US Political Editor For Dailymail.com the females at top of the Democratic National Committee is in the tank for Hilly Clinton, in fact they are clearing the path for her to the nomination. Why you ask? She has lady part. Or as Martkoso explains, its “a female cabal dead set on putting a woman in the White House,”according to that DNC committeewoman.  City slapped, fined $290,000 for discriminating against church
{BOB UNRUH} ~ A $290,000 settlement has been reached in a Florida church’s years-long case against a city for refusing permission to build a sanctuary... The Church of Our Savior in Jacksonville Beach had been holding meetings in a rented wooden chapel, local restaurants and members’ homes. Members bought land for a permanent meeting site, but city officials refused permission, citing the character of the neighborhood. A court eventually ruled that the city, under federal law, must allow the church to use the land it bought. And now the Alliance Defending Freedom has announced an agreement in which the city must pay “$290,000 in attorneys’ fees and expenses the church incurred to defend its constitutionally and legally protected freedoms.”

Impeach the IRS director

{washingtonpost.com} ~ “Look,” wrote Lois Lerner, echoing Horace Greeley, “my view is that Lincoln was our worst president not our best. He should have let the South go. We really do seem to have 2 totally different mindsets.” Greeley, editor of the New York Tribune, was referring to Southern secessionist states when he urged President-elect Lincoln to “let the erring sisters go in peace.”
.
Greeley favored separating the nation from certain mind-sets; Lerner favors suppressing certain mind-sets. At the Internal Revenue Service, she participated in delaying for up to five years — effectively denying — tax-exempt status for, and hence restricting political activity by, groups with conservative mind-sets. She retired after refusing to testify to congressional committees, invoking Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination.
.
As the IRS coverup of its and her malfeasance continues, the Republicans’ new House leaders should exercise this constitutional power: “The House . . . shall have the sole power of impeachment.” The current IRS director, John Koskinen, has earned this attention.
.
The Constitution’s framers, knowing that executive officers might not monitor themselves, provided the impeachment recourse to bolster the separation of powers. Federal officials can be impeached for dereliction of duty (as in Koskinen’s failure to disclose the disappearance of e-mails germane to a congressional investigation); for failure to comply (as in Koskinen’s noncompliance with a preservation order pertaining to an investigation); and for breach of trust (as in Koskinen’s refusal to testify accurately and keep promises made to Congress).
.
Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), chairman of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, says the IRS has “lied to Congress ” and “destroyed documents under subpoena.” He accuses Koskinen of “lies, obfuscation and deceit”: “He assured us he would comply with a congressional subpoena seeking Lois Lerner’s emails. Not only did he fail to keep that promise, we later learned he did not look in earnest for the information.”
.
After Koskinen complained about the high cost in time and money involved in the search, employees at a West Virginia data center told a Treasury Department official that no one asked for backup tapes of Lerner’s e-mails. Subpoenaed documents, including 422 tapes potentially containing 24,000 Lerner e-mails, were destroyed. For four months, Koskinen kept from Congress information about Lerner’s elusive e-mails. He testified under oath that he had “confirmed” that none of the tapes could be recovered.
.
Lerner conducted government business using private e-mail, and when she was told that the IRS’s instant messaging system was not archived, she replied: “Perfect.” Koskinen’s obfuscating testimonies have impeded investigation of unsavory practices, including the IRS’s sharing, potentially in violation of tax privacy laws, up to 1.25 million pages of confidential tax documents. Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch, which has forced the IRS to disgorge documents, says some “prove that the agency used donor lists to audit supporters of organizations engaged in First Amendment-protected lawful political speech.”
.
In July testimony, Koskinen consistently mischaracterized the Government Accountability Office report on IRS practices pertaining to IRS audits of tax-exempt status to groups. He wrongly testified that the report found “no examples of anyone who was improperly selected for an audit.” He mischaracterized the report’s criticism of IRS procedures for selecting exempt organizations for audits.
.
Contrary to his testimony, the report did not find that “individuals” were “automatically” selected for audit. The report did not investigate audits of individual taxpayers; it reviewed selection practices for audits of exempt organizations. The report noted, and Koskinen neglected to mention, that the IRS tracks information about high-net-worth individuals. Congress should investigate whether that tracking includes contributions to political committees and issue groups and whether the IRS then initiates audits of donors.
.
Koskinen has testified that “there’s no evidence that anybody outside the IRS had . . . any conversations with Lerner about targeting conservative groups or that she even had directives internally.”
.
How could he assert the absence of evidence that he had not sought? He had testified that he had conducted no investigation of the targeting.
.
Even if, as Koskinen says, he did not intentionally mislead Congress, he did not subsequently do his legal duty to correct the record in a timely manner. Even if he has not committed a crime such as perjury, he has a duty higher than merely avoiding criminality.
.
If the House votes to impeach, the Senate trial will not produce a two-thirds majority needed for conviction: Democrats are not ingrates. Impeachment would, however, test the mainstream media’s ability to continue ignoring this five-year-old scandal and would demonstrate to dissatisfied Republican voters that control of Congress can have gratifying consequences.

A Word to the Wise

European Muslim Invasion -- Background (my title)
http://perezreverte.com ^ | Arturo Pérez-Reverte (translated)

Posted on 10/21/2015, 11:31:27 PM by steve86

In the year 376 AD, an enormous mass of men, women and children appeared on the Danube frontier of the Roman Empire. They were refugee Goths who sought asylum, pressed by the advancing hordes of Attila. For several reasons - among others, that Rome was no longer what it had been - they were allowed to enter the territory of the Empire and were not exterminated, enslaved or conquered, as according to the custom of the time had happened to previous waves of immigrant peoples. In the following months, those refugees discovered that the Roman Empire was not Paradise, that the governors were weak and corrupt, that there was not wealth and food for all, and that injustice and greed were fattening upon them. And so, two years after crossing the Danube, these same Goths killed Roman Emperor Valens and destroyed his army at the battle of Adrianople. And ninety-eight years later, their grandchildren dethroned Romulus Augustulus, the last Roman Emperor, and liquidated what remained of the Roman Empire.

What the West faces has all happened before. But the thing is, we have forgotten it; irresponsible governments have erased the resources that would allow us to understand. Since the dawn of History, some peoples have invaded others due to hunger, to ambition, or because the pressure of still others who were invading them or mistreating them; and all, until recently, defended and stood against invaders in turn: knifing them, taking their women and enslaving their children. Thus, those peoples survived until History finished them, and opened the way for other empires, that once again, suffered the same fate when their day was over. A problem confronts what we call Europe, or the West (the empire heir to a complex civilization, that has its roots in the Bible and the Talmud, with some relation to the Koran; the empire that flourished in the medieval Church and the Renaissance, that establishes the rights and freedoms of man during the Age of Reason and the French Revolution). The West is all that - Homer, Dante, Cervantes, Shakespeare, Newton, Voltaire - and the problem it faces is that it has reached the end of its timeline and is being liquidated through overthrow. It is incapable of sustaining its existence. It is incapable of defending itself. It only has money. And money only buys some time, nothing more.

We pay for our sins. The disappearance of the communist régimes and the war that an imbecile American president unleashed upon the Middle East - to install a western-style democracy in places where the words Islam and Rais (religion mixed with tribal leaderships) make it difficult for democracy set the pot to boil. The centurions who guarded our borders fell: barbarians themselves, as at the end of all empires. All those centurions were sons of bitches, but they were our sons of bitches. Without them now, our borders are overwhelmed with waves of desperate people, the vanguard of the modern barbarians -in the historic sense of the word - who ride in after them. This places us in a situation which is new to us, but as old as the world. A situation which is inevitably historic, for we find ourselves in the position of empires incapable of controlling waves of migration, peaceful at first but later aggressive: Empires, civilizations, worlds that were conquered because of their weakness, or else transformed and then died out. And the few centurions left today along the banks of the Rhine or the Danube are under the death sentence. They are sentenced due to our selfishness, our do-good hypocrisy, our ignorance of history, our cowardly incompetence. Sooner or later, again by the operation of a simple natural law, those last centurions will end by going over to the side of the barbarians for their elementary survival.

It's about time we understand once and for all: these battles and this war are not going to be won. It cannot be done anymore. Our own social, religious and political dynamic will not allow it. And those who are pushing the Goths forward know it. The men who stopped invaders on the battlefields, slaughtering whole populations, cannot do that any longer. Our civilization, fortunately, will not tolerate such atrocities. The bad news is that we have over-reacted on the side of tolerance. European society today demands that its armies shall be "NGOs", not military forces. All vigorous action - and only vigor is effective in certain dynamics of History - is avoided at its root, and not even Hitler would find a West so resolute in confronting him by warfare, as it was in 1939. All action against those who are pushing the Goths is criticized by pacifist forces who oppose such action with as much legitimate ideology as their lack of historic realism. Demagoguery takes the place of reality and its consequences. A significant detail: naval surveillance operations in the Mediterranean sea are not carried out to stop immigration, but rather to help the immigrants arrive safely on European shores. It is all one enormous and inevitable contradiction.

Today's European citizen is a better person than he was centuries ago, and will not tolerate a certain class of injustices and cruelties. The historic resource of cutting throats is therefore happily discarded. There can be no massacre of Goths: bad news for the empire. All this takes us to the heart of the question: Europe - or whatever we wish to call this warm realm of rights and freedoms, of economic and social welfare -is broken inside and threatened from outside. It neither knows how to, nor can, nor wants to and perhaps should not even try to defend itself. We are living in the absurd paradox of feeling sorry for the barbarians, even cheering them on, and at the same time pretending that our comfortable way of life will go on intact.

But things are not that simple. The Goths will go on arriving in waves, flooding borders, roads, and cities. They are within their rights, and they have just what Europe does not have: youth, vigor, resolve, and hunger. They are forcing us to the heart of the matter: the installation of the Goths, when they become too many, within the empire. The conflicts derived from their presence. The rights they acquire or should acquire, and which it is just and logical that they should enjoy. But neither in the Roman Empire nor in today's Europe was there or is there abundance for all - neither of work, nor of food, nor of hospitals, nor of comfortable spaces. And besides, even for good consciences, it is not the same to feel compassion for a refugee at the border, or for a mother with her son crossing a barb-wire fence or drowning in the sea, than to see them installed in a hut next to one's home, or garden, or golf course, and being outlaws, if they must, to survive in a society where fairy godmothers have broken wands; where not all of us, and every day less of us can obtain what we should like to have. And of course, there are those areas, those cities which are turning into barrels of gunpowder on a slow fuse. From time to time, they will explode, for this too is historically inevitable.

All the more so in a Europe where intellectual élites are disappearing, snuffed out by mediocrity, and where politicians who can't read and populists of all stripes take over power according to how the wind blows. The final measure will be a harder and more repressive policy, supported by those who have things to lose. That will give rise to new conflicts: the have-nots demanding what they want, furious citizens, reprisals and settling of grievances. We shall not wait too long now, and violent xenophobic groups will have multiplied all over Europe. And other groups of desperate people who choose violence to emerge from hunger, oppression and injustice. It was also a part of the Roman population - not only the barbarians - who helped the Goths sack the Empire, either to ingratiate themselves with the barbarians or of their own accord. No pax romana (Roman peace) benefits all equally. The problem is that there is no way to halt History. "There must be a solution", say those who write editorials, the denizens of cafés and citizens incapable of understanding, because no one explains in the schools, that History is not "solved", but lived; and because for the most part, one reads and studies to foresee events that are never new; for often, in the history of Mankind, what is new is what has been forgotten. And what we forget is that there is not always a solution; sometimes things happen necessarily, obeying a simple natural law: new times, new barbarians. Much will remain of what is old, mixed in with the new; but the Europe that shed light upon the world is sentenced to death.

Perhaps in the course of time and with the mixture of races other empires may be better than this one, but neither you nor I will be here to find out. We are getting off at the next stop. On this journey, there are only two reasonable attitudes. One is the analgesic consolation of looking for an explanation in science and culture, so that if we cannot prevent it, which is impossible, we can at least understand why everything went to Hell. I like to imagine a Roman gentleman at the window of his library, quietly observing the sack of Rome; for to understand always helps one to endure pain.

The other reasonable attitude is, I think, to prepare young people, with their children and grandchildren in mind. So that they may face clearly, bravely, humanely and with common sense, the world that is coming. So that they may adapt to the inevitable, keeping what they may be able to keep what good things this dying world may leave behind. To give them tools to live in a territory that for a certain period will be chaotic, violent and dangerous. So that they may fight for something in which they believe, or that they may resign themselves to the inevitable; but not through stupidity or passivity, but rather through lucidity, through intellectual peace of mind. Let them be what they may wish to be or may achieve: let us make them Greeks who think, Trojans who fight, or if the case should be such - Romans conscious of the proud dignity of suicide. Let us make them mixed-race survivors, willing to face a new world and to better it; but let us not confuse our children with cheap demagoguery and Walt Disney stories. It's time that we speak to our sons in the schools, in the home, and in life, looking them straight in the eye.

Biden In The Rose Garden?

For that?!

The Biden speech reminded me of Justice John Roberts opinion on Obamacare back in 2012 - where it was intended and drafted to mean one thing only to be editted at the last moment to portray a totally different conclusion.

Biden's could have announced that he wasn't going to run on a Tweet. Which could've been followed up at the news networks.

His speech read like an acceptance speech where the "I will be running" was scratched over and replaced with "I will not be running".  The question is "Why"?  Is Hillary really doing as well as the (liberal) media has been hyping up since that first CNN socialist Debate?  If we compare her book signings / sales to Dr Ben Carson's book signings w/ his new release there are MAJOR differences there alone.  Hillary's book flopped.  Where Carson meets w thousands who want their copies signed.

So what that Hillary raises more campaign funds.  Nothing new there. Quite the contrary.  We've seen from The Clinton Global Initiative that it's all about BIG corporations and key nations around the world, friend and BIG-foes alike, are paying for favors and, judging by the emails that are dripping through, the BIG-donors expect access (to classfied documents?) as well.

What I found so clever about Biden haying said that the repubs are not an "enemy", but merely an opponent, was, imo, a hit on Hillary - as she did call the repubs her enemy. And she is proud of it.  No, he didn't endorse her. But he also didn't take comrad Bernie Sanders position where Sanders feigned outrage over the whole Hillary email protocol breach either.

But, the redistribution / fair share / poor vs wealthy message is very much the democrats platform - as it's been since 2008.  Only stronger.

Where the GOPers continue drinking the 80s "New Coke" w/ theor "We do too!" platform, the left entrench themselves ever deeper w/ their agenda.

And good ole Paul Ryan wants everyone in the House to love him; and change standards set forth by Thomas Jefferson himself.  I've been saying that 2016 is for the GOP to LOSE.  They are DEFINITELY going in that direction.  Don'tcha think?

IT IS A CRIME TO TELL THE TRUTH IN AMERICA

By: Juan Reynoso, WTP Activist -  texusa2016@gmail.com

Americas must realize that self-scrutiny is not treason. Self-examination is not disloyalty.

Truth and knowledge diffused among the people are necessary for the reclamation and preservation of our Democracy, rights, freedom and liberties.

It is a crime to tell the truth in America, but not to cover-up crime and protect war criminals.

Fellow Americans, the 2016 elections is about changing the path of government corruption and the betrayal of the American people by the sycophants, sociopaths and pathological liars that are destroying our country; it is not about political parties or what is best for the party of our choice or what is best for us as individuals; it is about our nation, our freedom, our US constitution and the rule of law.

We cannot continue being silent and allow Washington and the news media the cover-up our government crimes and corruption.  It is an irony of history that a government and a population that believes that the truth must be covered up at all cost parades around the world acting as if Washington is the history’s agent for
“bringing freedom and democracy to the world.”

The truth is that America is the world’s bully and our country has become a police state and it is not a free country anymore, the mainstream news media has done a good job brainwashing the American people and made them believe that our government is defending our country from our enemies while the real enemy of the American people is our own government.

This evil government will be expose and destroy by people with courage that believe that to tell the truth is more important that their own security, jobs, families and their own life; to me they are real patriots, heroes because they risk everything to inform the people about the truth and what our government is doing to us and humanity. It is not a crime to tell the truth no in American or any state of this union, we must defend and stand for the truth at any cost.

This is America Today, a gutless, cowardly population that accepts mass murder of women and children and destruction of countries without protest and sits and watches, without intervening, as criminal cops murder unarmed citizens and black thugs inflict brain trauma on women.

George W. Bush is a convicted war criminal, but the Republicans defend him and allowed this war criminal to be the promoter of his brother Jeb Bush to become president. But today, to tell the truth in America is a crime.

John Kiriakou is an American patriot who informed us of the criminal behavior of illegal and immoral US “cloak and dagger” operations that were bringing dishonor to our country. His reward was to be called a “traitor” by the idiot conservative Republicans and sentenced to prison by the corrupt US government.

Manning revealed US war crimes and after years of illegal pre-trial prison abuse was sentenced to 35 years in prison for keeping the vow to the US Constitution. Some of the idiot conservative Republicans thought the sentence was too light.

Tom Drake was ruined, and he kept his complaints about NSA illegality within the chain of command.

Julian Assange is confined by the US and UK governments in violation of international law to the Ecuadoran Embassy in London for doing his job and publishing leaked documents revealing the mendacity, immorality, and illegality of Washington’s policies.

Edward Snowden is protected by Russia against Washington’s retribution for revealing that Washington’s illegal and unconstitutional spying is universal and includes the personal communications of all of the leaders of Washington’s own vassal states.

The American people accept the persecution of truth-tellers, because they have been brainwashed into believing that patriotism means defense of the government no matter what. As truth is so unfavorable to Washington, Americans believe that it must not be revealed and cover-up, and if revealed those who reveal must be punish because they are traitors.

The House According To Ryan

It would seem that the wolf is shedding its sheepish skin as Ryan puts forth conditions (ultimatums?) if he's going to accept the Speakership.  But these conditions that changes House standards seem to be aimed exclusively at the House Freedom Caucus, the conservative group in the HoR that have been creditted (or blaimed) for John Boehner's early retirement from Congress altogether.  Imo, his retirement didn't come early enough.

So, Rep. Paul Ryan said that he'd run for the Speakership - IF the entire GOP conference unites behind him.  He wants the "entire" conference to blindly follow his lead - w/ out challenge?  It sounds just like the way Barack Obama has been running things for the past six-plus years so far.  Is Ryan demanding OBEDIENCE from the GOP?  Isn't that exactly what the GOP members,.including those in the Senate, mind you... have given Obama, Pelosi and Reid since 2011?

The reason, and the very intentions behind the Framers having established three co-equal Branches of the federal government was so that no one person, or entity, would have full control; or autonomy.  And safeguards were/are included w/ the inclusion of Article V of the US Constitution, and the ratification of the 1st, 2nd, and 10th Amendments - which were added so that the sovereign States, and their residents, had the LEGAL tools to protect and defend themselves from any enemies, or adversaries, of the Constitution - foreign or even domestic.  And, the way I see it, our domestic adversaries have given uncontested and unconditional entry to illegal aliens coming from nations and/or regions that have shown to be hostile to America to say  the least.

Have we not surrendered enough already?  Is not dissension a form of expression and protest - which is very much protected by the Constitution?  I am weary of those that say we must walk in lockstep w/ each other - regardless of party affiliation. Imo, Ryan is demanding utopian House.  He seems to want things to be easy to do.  If it's too hard for him to handle, then he should stay out. If Rep. Paul Ryan actually believes that by getting the entire House behind him will appease the American people, and make them obediently silent when the House continues to cave in to the democrats' every demand (and they will), then Ryan is as delusional as the rest of his squishy/moderate GOP colleagues.  And that would make him no different than Boehner or McConnell. Big surprise.

What good is it to change one's mask if they all share the same soiled underwear?

“I don’t think anybody would be above what we think are the minimum standards necessary for speaker,”, said Rep. John Fleming, one of the founders of The Freedom Caucus.

CNN to Help Democrats Avoid Actual Debate
Democrats are gearing up for their first presidential debate on CNN Tuesday night. Republicans have already had two debates, but Democrats are just now getting around to acknowledging that there are more candidates than just Hilly Clinton. The front runner will be joined on stage by the surprising Bernie "I'm a Democratic Socialist" Sanders, and some other guys no one's heard of — former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, former Virginia Sen. Jim Webb and former Republican Lincoln Chaffee of Rhode Island. But if you're hoping for big hits similar to those in the GOP debate, you'll be better off watching the MLB playoffs. (We'd recommend the latter anyway.)
“The level of humility and seriousness in this debate will be stark compared to what has been happening in the Republican debates,” said Democrat strategist Stephanie Cutter. CNN got the memo. The network is downplaying ratings expectations — nowhere near the 23 million who tuned in for the GOP — and it's preparing for a generally more toned down affair. Moderator Anderson Cooper said of Jake Tapper's GOP debate at the Reagan Library, "I'm always uncomfortable with that notion of setting people up in order to kind of promote some sort of a face-off. I think these are all serious people. This is a serious debate. They want to talk about the issues, and I want to give them an opportunity to do that."
In other words, CNN will make the Republicans wrestle in the mud with the narcissist Donald Trump while helping Democrats look like "serious people." After all, that motley crew will need all the help they can get.  -The Patriot Post

Taliban and Islamic State Strengthen in Afghanistan
Aaaaand they're back, folks. While a U.S. general told Congress last week that the Afghan government is dealing with the Taliban, a United Nations report found that the threat of the Taliban is the highest it's been since 2001. Recently, the Taliban has flexed its strength, throwing up roadblocks and capturing and withdrawing from the northern Afghan city of Kunduz. But don't worry; a force is rising up to claim title as the most brutal of the brutal. The Taliban is skirmishing with the Islamic State, which has established a franchise in the eastern part of Afghanistan with fighters who splintered from America's old enemy. Meanwhile, Barack nObama — the guy who says he'll stay the course in Syria — changed his timeline on the troop draw down in Afghanistan. Over fears that the original withdrawal that nObama envisioned would destabilize the Afghan government further than it already has, he hints that he will keep U.S. troops in the country until he leaves the presidency. It's a decent decision, but it comes too late — after he has squandered most of the gains over the last 14 years.  -The Patriot Post

Sorry, but DMV Closures in Alabama Ain't Jim Crow
If you've paid attention to the Leftmedia recently, you probably heard its cries of the return of Jim Crow in Alabama. The Left thinks that, because the state is shuttering many of its part-time Department of Motor Vehicle branch offices, the state that requires a photo ID to vote has restricted its citizens' civil rights. It's a systematic effort to prevent the poor from voting, the Left cries. Not so, says Heritage Foundation's Hans von Spakovsky. Alabama is closing the offices because it needs to trim its budget, and the part-time DMV branch offices distributed only 5% of the drivers licenses issued — kind of an easy line item to trim. So where's a voter to go? Every county in the state issues voter IDs for free, and those offices are often in the same location as the former DMV offices. Von Spakovsky writes, "So individuals who would have used one of the part-time satellite DMV offices to get an ID will be able to simply walk to another office —in the same building — to get the ID they need for voting. And that is supposed to be the reimposition of Jim Crow?" Leave it to the Left to equate getting licensed to drive — a regulated activity not guaranteed by the Constitution — with the right to vote. Fortunately, exercising the right to vote in Alabama does not mean braving the line at the DMV.    -The Patriot Post

State Depart Promotes Muslim Cleric Who Backed Fatwa on ‘Killing...
{Adam Kredo} ~ The Department of State has again promoted the work of a controversial Muslim scholar who has endorsed a fatwa calling for the murder of U.S. soldiers in Iraq... according to a series of tweets sent out by an official Twitter account that is tasked with combatting extremist ideologies. In a series of five separate tweets on Wednesday, the State Department’s Think Again, Turn Away account, which works to combat radical Islam, promoted a recentNPR discussion with Sheikh Abdallah Bin Bayyah, a one-time vice president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, an organization founded by a Muslim Brotherhood leader “who has called for the death of Jews and Americans and himself is banned from visiting the U.S.,” according to reports. Bin Bayyah is reported to have been one of multiple clerics who backed a 2004 fatwa, or religious decree, endorsing violent resistance against American soldiers fighting in Iraq.

 The nObama Intifada
{Matthew Continetti} ~ More than 30 dead in Israel as Palestinians armed with knives attack innocents. What’s responsible? And who is legitimizing this campaign?... None other than Mahmoud Abbas, president of the Palestinian Authority, whom President nObama and Secretary of State hanoi-John Kerry have long held up as a peacemaker. “I think nobody would dispute that whatever disagreements you may have with him, he has proven himself to be somebody who has committed to nonviolence and diplomatic efforts to resolve this issue,” nObama told writer Jeffrey Goldberg in 2014. It is a lie to say that Mahmoud Abbas is committed to a diplomatic resolution. Just as it was a lie when, the other day at Harvard, Secretary hanoi-Kerry attributed the bloodshed to “a frustration that is growing” because of the “massive increase in settlements over the course of the last years.” As Elliott Abrams points out, there has been an increase in the population of the settlements, but not in their size. As if the settlements have any connection to what’s happening in the first place: The terror gripping Israel is the result of a Palestinian leadership so adrift and corrupt, so aggrieved and conspiratorial, that it encourages the radicalization of its youth and promotes an atmosphere of hatred and murder.

Kirby And hanoi-Kerry Should Resign – Lawmakers Furious...
{rickwells.us} ~ Once again the nObama regime proves that even in a culture constructed on lies, composed of professional career liars who have no familiarity with the truth other than from an adversarial position... there are times when an unguarded truth inadvertently slips out; nobody’s perfect. John Kirby is a former Navy Rear Admiral who served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Media Operations before being promoted upon his retirement to a political facilitator position as State Department Spokesman. He’s been a freewheeling liar for hire in both positions but a lapse of honesty has him in some deep, hot water. He let the true opinion of the Israel haters in the nObama regime slip out on Wednesday when he said that Israelis are guilty of committing “acts of terrorism” and shared culpability with the Palestinians for increased tensions. Kirby said, “Individuals on both sides of this divide are – have proven capable of, and in our view, are guilty of acts of terrorism.” It’s the Palestinians who are stabbing innocent Israeli civilians to death and running them down with their vehicles but that apparently doesn’t figure into the regime’s calculus.       http://rickwells.us/archives/20789

nObama Plans Takedown of Another U.S. Ally
{Cliff Kincaid} ~ President nObama failed to take out Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu but now he’s going after Canada’s Conservative Party Prime Minister Stephen Harper... a big supporter of Israel and opponent of Russian President Vladimir Putin. It’s a story the U.S. media won’t cover. But Judi McLeod of the Canada Free Press has been documenting how nObama is planning the “fundamental transformation” of Canada by taking down Harper’s government and bringing to power a progressive majority assembled from Canada’s Liberal Party and New Democratic Party (NDP), an affiliate of the Socialist International. In a dispatch earlier this year, McLeod provided the facts about the interference of nObama campaign operatives in the Canadian elections scheduled for October 19. “In Canada, nObama’s campaign team is guiding the election campaigns of both the Liberals and the NDP,” she wrote. She urged the Harper government to investigate. nObama did get involved with the Canadian election and the liberals won. http://www.aim.org/aim-column/obama-plans-takedown-of-another-u-s-ally/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email101615&utm_medium=email

Does the Nuclear Deal With Iran Violate U.S. Law?
{Fred Fleitz} ~ According to a blockbuster report on Fox News last night by James Rosen, the nuclear deal with Iran (the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action or JCPOA) violates U.S. law... by reopening a legal loophole that will allow subsidiaries of U.S. companies to do business with Iran. This loophole was closed by the Iran Threat Reduction and Syria Human Rights Act (ITRA), signed into law by President nObama in August 2012.  Rosen discovered that this loophole will be reopened by a provision buried in an annex to the Iran deal (Annex II, section 5.1.2) which says that in exchange for Iranian compliance with the agreement, the U.S. “shall…license non-U.S. entities that are owned or controlled by a U.S. person to engage in activities with Iran that are consistent with this JCPOA.” Rosen contends the JCPOA’s annex II language violates U.S. law in two ways.

Journalist reveals how leftists captured Americans' minds
{Paul Bremmer} ~ Award-winning journalist David Kupelian starts by urging people to consider the current American landscape: Waves of immigrants pouring into across the southern border while the government plans to import thousands of Syrian Muslim refugees... Racial tensions and crime skyrocketing. Radical wealth redistribution. An unworkable healthcare system. Big Brother spying. All proof that Barack nObama’s promised “fundamental transformation” of America is well underway. But then he paints another picture: According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 130 million Americans depend on some sort of mind-altering substance to get through life. Some 110 million Americans have sexually transmitted diseases. Families are disintegrating. One in four middle-aged women is taking antidepressants. We’ve become a nation of addicts, he says. While the first group of problems are nationwide maladies, and the latter are individual troubles, Kupelian contends there’s an unrecognized cause-and-effect connection between the two.

{jewishworldreview.com} ~ Throughout the debate over the Iran nuclear deal, critics of the agreement did more than point out its weaknesses. They also argued that given Iran's long record of violating existing agreements, it was almost certain that Tehran would ignore many, if not most of its restrictions at the first opportunity.
.
This claim was pooh-poohed by President nObama and his supporters who asserted that the safeguards in the pact would prevent cheating.
.
More importantly, the mindset behind the decision to essentially grant international approval to Iran's nuclear program was based on the notion that the Islamist regime could be trusted and would, given enough encouragement, ultimately change to become a partner for the West.
.
The jaw-dropping naïveté that was the foundation of administration policy is part of what led to what polls showed to be most of the American people and large majorities in both the House and the Senate to oppose the deal (though not enough, thanks to partisan Democrats, to stop it).
.
But critics didn't have to wait long for their predictions to start coming true.
.
As the New York Times reported, Iran announced a long-range missile test in violation of the restrictions on their missile program that was promised by the administration.
.
One of the many shortcomings of the nuclear deal was its failure to address Iran's building of intercontinental ballistic missiles, a weapons system that illustrated that their nuclear program was a threat to the United States as much as it was to Israel. But the deal did leave in place the restrictions on missile testing.
.
Indeed, the United Nations Security Council resolution that lifted most of the sanctions on Iran (prior to nObama sneaking the deal through Congress) left in place previous the measures previously passed that made missile tests illegal. Thus, the announcement by Iran's state news agency that the test of their Emad guided missile is an obvious violation of the deal.
.
Yet what is most significant about this event is that it allows us to see exactly how the nuclear deal will function in the future.
.
Given the ferocity of administration promises about safeguards and holding Iran accountability that we heard during the debate on the deal, we might expect serious consequences to result from the missile launch. But anyone who really thinks that will happen hasn't been paying attention.
.
What's next?
.
The administration will express concern but also attempt to muddy the waters about the agreement saying, as the Times article implied that there was some doubt about whether the restrictions still apply.
.
The missile test will be widely interpreted as being merely a function of internal Iranian political arguments between hardliners opposed to the deal and "moderates" in favor of it. The test will be dismissed as meaningless and any attempt to hold Iran accountable for its misbehavior will be branded as a Western provocation that would destroy trust inside Iran and hurt the "moderates."
.
In other words, we will be told to move along and there is nothing to see here.
.
But there is something very important going on.
.
The Emad is a clear technological step up from Iran's existing Shahab-3 missile and is a direct threat to Israel. While Iran speaks of its armaments as defensive in nature and a deterrent against the Jewish state, we should remember one thing. Israel has no policy aimed at destroying Iran. It is Iran's leaders who repeatedly threaten Israel with extinction.
.
The process, by which Iran will move, either slowly or quickly to a nuclear weapon with a weapons system that can deliver such a bomb, begins with establishing its ability to violate the nuclear deal with impunity. Once smaller violations are allowed to pass without consequences, we have taken a first irrevocable step down the road to the acceptance of an Iranian bomb that is implicit in the adoption of the nuclear deal. If those who supported the deal do not respond with vehement denunciations and pressure, but instead use the same weak arguments to justify the violations that they used to support the agreement, then the Islamist regime will know that other violations will be treated in the same fashion.
.
Of course, Iran also knows that it can get to a bomb rather easily once the deal expires in a decade since its nuclear infrastructure and advanced research has been left in place. But if cheating along the edges of the deal is okay with the nObama administration, then there's no reason for them to wait or to at least to start the kind of development that will make a bomb and a capable delivery system inevitable. That means that rather than being a minor violation that doesn't affect the main thrust of the deal, the missile test is a benchmark by which everything that follows will be judged.
.
In that sense it is not so much the Iranian missiles that are being tested as the nObama administration and its liberal cheering section in the media. Given their track record, there's not much doubt that they will fail.

On August 15, Bill Clinton Obama plays a round of golf with President Obama.  Was it social, or was it for safeguarding Hillary Clinton from life behind bars; if convicted of 1 or more felonies?

Since that time, Hillary Clinton seems to be developing stronger exchanges in her political dialogues.

On October 11, 2015: “President Barack Obama called Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server a "mistake," but said national security was not compromised and suggested the issue has been politicized to damage her image.”

Is President Obama ‘setting the table’ in preparation of granting Hillary Clinton a ‘Presidential Pardon’?

In the October 13 Democrat Party Presidential ‘debate’ in Las Vegas, Nevada, it is clear Hillary Clinton expressed her full strength of intensity and dominating as the Democrat Party’s candidate.

“Hillary Clinton was seen to help stabilize her faltering campaign Tuesday night with a debate performance that left little doubt she has a solid grip on the Democratic presidential race -- and may have sent a strong message to Joe Biden that time is running out if he envisions jumping in.”  http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/10/14/clinton-debate-performance-enough-to-keep-biden-on-sidelines/

“With a polished and clearly well-prepared debate performance on Tuesday night, Clinton may not have shed that perception, but she did manage to make the case that she is the best prepared of all the Democratic candidates to take the progressive fight to Republicans.”  http://www.cbsnews.com/news/democratic-debate-october-2015-highlights-analysis/

The Southern Poverty Law Center is lying again – being liberal that really is not a problem. Liberalism/progressivism, based on moral relativity, requires a certain amount of lying. Whether it is identity politics, gender politics, or even values politics, all is relative to how the individual feels that it applies to him and not the community.

Progressives have always been of the mind that the end justifies the means, and they excuse over the top radicalism and lying as necessary to move the agenda forward. It is all done in the hopes of producing a narrative that can be believed by the rank-and-file of their followers – the low information citizen.

In October, the SPLC placed Dr. Ben Carson on its “Extremist Watch List”. Now being a Black Conservative, according to the standards that the SPLC has already shown may have been reason enough, but ultimately it was because Dr. Carson had the audacity to be for traditional marriage as is most of the world.

A week later after intense criticism, Dr. Carson was taken off the list. The Marxist-Socialist agenda of the SPLC had embarrassed itself and targeted a man who is a Christian. Not that the SPLC hasn’t targeted Christians before and continues to do so, but Dr. Carson is running for President and is well thought of by the vast majority of people. Remember, this is the same group that declared the Family Research Institute a hate group, and placed them in brochures right nest to the KKK and neo-Nazi organizations. That led to an almost catastrophic confrontation and only lately has the SPLC said they may have made a mistake.

Christians are in the sights of the SPLC and long diatribes have been written how bigoted, homophobic and downright stupid Christians are for believing in what they do. At the “Values Voter Summit” many conservatives discuss the issues facing American today.

But the SPLC, lately linked to a domestic terrorism case in federal court, has done its best to try and slander those in attendance, labeling those conservatives anti-LBGT and anti-Muslim. The SPLC took it upon themselves to write to each speaker at the event and “encourage” them not to go. Even though millions of the everyday citizens agree with the summit and not with the progressive/socialist policies of the SPLC.

The SPLC has maintained that if you object to LBGT issues you are demonizing those of that community. It declares that those who hold to biblical standards of marriage have an extensive record of demonizing, vilifying gays, and spreading falsehoods. This the same group that was the inspiration of

Floyd Lee Corkins II entering the offices of the Family Research Council with the intention of in his own words “kill as many people as I could”.

So what has the SPLC learned? Apparently nothing, A group of socialist/progressives including GLAAD, Faithful America, People for the American Way . in conjunction with the SPLC have now targeted individuals that attended the “Values Voter Summit”. It has targeted such people as the American Family President Tim Wildmon, Liberty Counsel Mathew Staver and of course, once again Tony Perkins of the Family research Council.

But the targeting does not end there. The SPLC has expanded its agenda to include other areas of “hate”. Included in this has been the declaration that the entire South and anything Confederate is now hate. All holidays, monuments, symbols, celebrations and schools named after any Confederate is now considered a hate crime by the SPLC, and must be eradicated from across the country.

Recently, the SPLC has branded three women as anti-Muslim for discussing the threats of Islamic immigration into the United States. Also discussed was the Muslim Botherhood infiltration of this administration and this country. In the magazine Rose-el-Youseff six People in this adminstraton were named as operatives for the Muslim Brotherhood.

Arif Alikha Homeland Security Ass. Sec, Eboo Patel Presidential Advisory Council on Faith, Mohamed Magid DHS Working Group, Rashad Hussain- Special Envoy to OIC, Salam al-Marayati- Admnistraton rep to UNESCo

Americans have not had the opportunity to discover thee truths about Islam and the SPLC because of administration coercion and the media. It is the SPLC who has directly targeted these women in a pamphlet called “Women Against Islam”.

The SPLC has become nothing more than a money making entity that will fudge numbers and always look for new dragons to slay whether they need slaying or not. First it was the KKK, now it everyone from Christians, to gun enthusiasts, to anything that the leftist partisan hacks of the SPLC can use to raise money. It has traded the activism of a good and noble nature that it used to identify with for a usefulness of activist leftism that fills it coffers. No more an admirable organization that would ferret out real hate, it has now become a bully against those it knows has neither the money or connections to fight back.

One, Two, Charlie's Coming For You...

Like that slimy mold and mildew that shows up uninvited on bathroom tile, such is the political chameloen, Charlie Crist.

Once again, the former Florida governor is at it again. In 2010, Crist e ran what supposed to have been an encoronation-election, for the US Senate seat. Despite the full weight of Florida's RNC supporting him, Crist lost miserably against Marco Rubio.

It was then that the former Schwarzenegger-style republican began his political metamorphosis. Seeing how the TEA party had defied the RNC, by putting Rubio in the lead, Crist then decided to run as an Independent. As you all know, he still lost by a lot.

After that, in 2012, with backing from the far left Orlando based law firm, Morgan & Morgan, Charlie Crist started yet another run for governor. But this tine as a democrat. And the law firm came up with a strategy to guaranree a win for a change. Morgan & Morgan lobbied to get pot legalization on the 2012 ballot. Obviously, at least imo, in the hopes of drawing the youth vote to take the election, But, yet again, Crist still lost. "Sorry, Charlie!".

Well, here we go again! The "chameleon" is back. And the political seat-du-jour is now opening in the House. The seat is being vacated by U.S Rep. David Jolly (R) who had announced that he'd give up his 13th Congressional District chair to run for Marco Rubio's senate seat. And, yes, Charlie Crist is running as a democrat. What a "surprise", huh. I was kinda hoping that he'd take a shot at running as a Socialist this time around. You know, like Bernie Sanders is; and quite successfully, I might add.

The question is can he win this time around? Lets hope that his track record remains consistent, shall we.

Cost to Taxpayers of Doing Favors for Big Phrma

After lobbying for ObamaCare, some members of Congress still are trying to do favors for Big Phrma.  An article entitled The Inter Partes Review Process is Working, Even For Pharmaceuticals made the point that when Congress does favors for the drug industry the taxpayers get stuck with the tab.

Health care is increasingly expensive, thanks in part to government's continued and expanding intervention.

Look back at the Medicare Part D fight that established a program that pushed a massive new entitlement onto the American people as a great example of Republicans pushing for the Big Pharma agenda.

During the Obama years, we have ObamaCare as an example of Democrats doing the bidding of the drug industry.

Now lobbyists for the drug companies are back asking for a special carveout on something called the Inter Partes Review Process.  This is a process that stops big companies from gaming the patent system to keep a patent for longer than allowed under current law or to try to file a bogus new patent on an old drug to continue to overcharge for the drug.  Now that most of health care costs are taken on by the government (i.e. the taxpayer), any increase in the price of drugs will hit the consumers hard.

Big Pharma has invested at least $3 billion on lobbying and they want to take away the one tool that can empower taxpayers to challenge government-granted monopolies.

Thankfully, Congressman Bob Goodlatte and Senator Chuck Grassley, the House and Senate Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, get it.  They have stood up against special interests in the past and should do it again.  Big Phrma should stand on it's own two feet.  The taxpayers shouldn't be forced to prop them up.
