A Saudi Arabian air force sergeant who arrived in Las Vegas for New Year’s Eve two years ago may never get to leave Nevada after being sentenced Wednesday to a minimum of 35 years in state prison for kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old boy at a Las Vegas Strip hotel.

Mazen Alotaibi, 25, stared at the courtroom floor as the boy’s mother sobbed that her son’s life was ruined and Clark County District Court Judge Stefany Miley imposed the mandatory sentence for sexual assault with a minor under the age of 14.

Alotaibi didn’t testify at trial in October 2013, and he didn’t speak Wednesday. With time already served, he will be 57 before he is first eligible for parole.

“This idea that you can come in here and … do the things you want and then you get to leave, and ‘What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas’ is wrong,” prosecutor Jacqueline Bluth said. “That’s all about show. It’s not real life.”

“It should really be, ‘What happens here could make you stay here a long time,'” she said. “If you come here and you commit crimes and you rape our kids, you’re going to pay for it.”

Defense attorney Dominic Gentile said he intends to appeal Alotaibi’s conviction and sentence.

The judge spared the former air force mechanic additional sentences of life with the possibility of parole for his convictions on kidnapping and lewdness with a child under 14.

The judge ran sentences concurrently, including one to 10 years for burglary resulting from a jury finding that Alotaibi entered a building with intent to commit a crime. Combined, all charges could have added another 66 years to Alotaibi’s minimum prison time.

“You want to talk about a life sentence?” Bluth asked. She asked Miley to string sentences back to back to ensure Alotaibi would never get out. “What about (the boy’s) life?”

Bluth used the boy’s nickname. The Associated Press is withholding his name and his mother’s name to avoid identifying a victim of a sex crime. The boy is now 15 and lives with his family in California.

Alotaibi came to the U.S. for military training at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, and Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in Texas.

The defense attorney said he intends to appeal to the Nevada Supreme Court for a new trial, arguing that Alotaibi was badly represented by Chairez.

Reached by telephone, Chairez defended his work as “excellent.” He said he also discussed appeal strategy with Gentile.

“For Mr. Alotaibi’s sake, I hope this is one of the grounds that will be successful and the court grants him a new trial,” Chairez said.

Gentile, a prominent Nevada criminal defense and constitutional lawyer and adjunct law school professor, said he’ll also argue that world events made it impossible for Alotaibi to get a fair trial.

“Mazen Alotaibi is an Arab Muslim,” Gentile said. “I don’t believe he can get a fair trial in America today because of overwhelming bias and prejudice.”

A state education department found that a school district and School Committee Chair retaliated against a student because of her parent’s complaint about inaccurate and biased materials.
The decision by the Massachusetts agency found that the Newton Public Schools (NPS) and School Committee Chair Matthew Hills sent confidential information about the student and her family to local media, which published it. The media entities – a newspaper and a blog – also published false claims that the parent was associated with anti-Muslim groups.
The student’s family said that both the newspaper and blog knew that the family had previously been stalked and that publishing the false allegations put them in danger. They also stated they suffered emotional distress and other harm due to the district’s actions.
Parents and education groups have accused the school of distributing inaccurate and anti-Israel material, resulting in the removal of several widely used resources. One resource, the Arab World Studies Notebook, has been been subject to intense criticism by education groups and removed from other school districts. The district also removed a website and whited out a textbook’s claim that the Catholic church was “reconsidering polygamy as a Christian option”.
Parents’ complaint are supported by organizations including the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America (CAMERA), Scholars for Peace in the Middle East, StandWithUs, and Zionist Organization of America.
Last September, the education research organization Verity Educate issued a report on materials used in NPS history classes. The report found numerous inaccurate and deceptive material, including altered primary source documents. It also found substantial anti-Israel bias, including material described as ‘neutral’ which had been prepared by anti-Israel activists.
The district denies that any bias or inaccuracies exist. Officials also told parents that they would ‘never’ read the report issued by Verity Educate or any other organization and that parents upset about deceptive or racist class material “should find another school for their children”.
“The retaliation by school officials against a child because of a parent’s legitimate complaints about biased and deceptive class materials is outrageous”, said Evan Jacobi, president of the group Parents for Excellence in Newton Schools (PENS). “Their goal is to further intimidate parents who object to their children being told that biased and grossly inaccurate material is true.”
Hills was also found to have violated state Open Meeting law several times in 2014 in an attempt to cover up a plagarized speech given by Newton Superintendent David Fleishman, and advised Fleishman and others to violate state and federal law by withholding documents from responses to public records requests. No sanctions have been imposed on Hills for these violations.

On a Friday sermon in the Brooklyn Oulel-Albab Mosque, Imam Tareq Yousef Al-Masri spoke about the terror attacks in Paris, and said that Muslims are like time bombs. He further said that Muslims should admit that they hate Christians. Imam Al-Masri explained that Wahhabi ideology is responsible for instilling hatred in the hearts of Muslims, which leads to terrorism worldwide.
Following are excerpts from the sermon, which was posted on the Internet on January 9, 2015.
Tareq Yousef Al-Masri: The crisis in France casts its shadow upon us. The two brothers who stormed the offices of the [Charlie Hebdo] magazine, which published offensive cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad, and affronted the Muslims, just as it affronts others… This is a satirical magazine, which is well known as such. This magazine knows no limits when it comes to freedom of speech.
It is peculiar that two years ago, during the Boston [marathon], it was two brothers, of Chechen origin, and now, we have two brothers – of Algerian origin, I think. What’s the story with brothers? What’s the story with that all-destructive ideology?
Let us admit, without lying to ourselves, that we, the Muslims, are time bombs. When I say “we, the Muslims,” I do not mean every single Muslim, but Muslims of the religious sector are time bombs. When a sinner repents, the first thing he does is make a bomb. He blows it up and kills people.
We must admit this. We cannot become immune if we do not admit this. If you have cancer, it won’t help you if I tell you that you have the flu. I must tell you that you clearly have cancer. When someone has cancer, they run a series of tests, in order to identify the cause of this cancer. They don’t just say that this cancer is an act of God. Everything comes from Allah, but this should not prevent us from studying the underlying reasons for this cancer.
Let us admit something else. The majority of us Muslims hate the Christians – true or false? Yes, that is the truth.

When you see how many people oppose [congratulating Christians on their holidays], you have to admit that deep-rooted hatred dwells in the hearts of Muslims. Someone might say to me: “Do you think they love us? They hate us too.” What do you care what others do? Just because there are thieves, would you become a thief too? In that case, all people would be thieves.

Who instilled so much hatred in these generations? It is the ideology present in the books – the ideology of Ibn Taymiyyah, of Ibn Al-Qayyam, of Al-Nawawi. These are the pillars of this ideology. In modern times, we have Ibn Baz, Ibn Al-Uthaymeen, Al-Huweini, Muhammad Hassan… These people are responsible for instilling hatred in human beings.

Christians sometimes cite the Quranic verses used by these thugs, those [Salafi] scholars who have corrupted the nation of Muhammad, and who have buried our good reputation in the ground. I’ve just mentioned their names – from the past and from the present.

When we tell people that it is forbidden to wish a Christian “Merry Christmas,” does this not lay the foundation for terrorism? This is how you condition yourself to feel hatred.
[…]
The truth of the Quran has been distorted by scholars who corrupt the youth. Those killers [in France] are the victims of Ibn Taymiyyah, of Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, of Ibn Al-Qayyim, of Al-Nawawi, of Al-Huweini, of Ibn Baz, of Ibn Al-Uthaymeen, of Muhammad Hassan. By Allah, these are wretched victims, who believe that they are worshipping Allah by killing people.

[These scholars consider] any Quranic verse of moral value to have been abrogated. They consider any verse that calls to treat people with kindness to have been abrogated. All that remains valid is: Kill! Slaughter! Is that the only thing that God tells us?!

They have made the Muslims hate everyone – the Christians, the Jews, the atheists, and all human beings. Why did God say: “We made peoples and tribes that you may know one another”? How can you get to know other people if you hate them?! How can you maintain a relationship with them? Oh you who believe that truth is on your side, show me what “merchandise” you are selling. It amounts to nothing but killing and accusing others of heresy and polytheism. It is all bad. What have you contributed to human civilization? Nothing! Then you try to claim that you are the best among people, and that you will go to Paradise while everybody else will go to the Hellfire.
I am ashamed of the rotten and despicable conduct of the Muslims. Today, the Muslims stand up in mosques and wash their hands of these two brothers – or of the two brothers from the Boston bombings – but is this enough? No. Oh servants of Allah, do not hate people! Love people. Get closer to them. Do you want to invite other people to join Islam, while you hate them and curse them day and night?!

In my fatwas, I said that we should wish the Christians happy holidays. I wrote that Allah said: “And speak to the people good.” Would you believe that some Wahhabi on Facebook said that this verse referred to the Jews and the Israelites?! In other words, they are supposed “to speak to people good,” while we are supposed to treat people like trash…

The Muslim Brotherhood called for “a long, uncompromising jihad” in Egypt just days after a delegation of the Islamist group’s key leaders and allies met with the State Department, according to an official statement released this week.
Just days after a delegation that included two top Brotherhood leaders was hosted at the State Department, the organization released an official statement calling on its supporters to “prepare” for jihad, according to an independent translation of the statement first posted on Tuesday.
The State Department meeting was attended by a deputy assistant secretary for democracy, human rights, and labor and other State Department officials.
The Muslim Brotherhood statement also was issued just two days before a major terror attack Thursday in Egypt’s lawless Sinai region that killed at least 25.
“It is incumbent upon everyone to be aware that we are in the process of a new phase, where we summon what is latent in our strength, where we recall the meanings of jihad and prepare ourselves, our wives, our sons, our daughters, and whoever marched on our path to a long, uncompromising jihad, and during this stage we ask for martyrdom,” it states.
Preparation for jihad is a key theme of the Brotherhood’s latest call for jihad.
An image posted with the statement shows two crossing swords and the word “prepare!” between them. Below the swords it reads, “the voice of truth, strength, and freedom.” According to the statement, “that is the motto of the Dawa of the Muslim Brotherhood.”
The statement also invokes the well-known Muslim cleric Imam al-Bana, who founded the Brotherhood and has called for the death of Jews.
“Imam al-Bana prepared the jihad brigades that he sent to Palestine to kill the Zionist usurpers and the second [Supreme] Guide Hassan al-Hudaybi reconstructed the ‘secret apparatus’ to bleed the British occupiers,” the statement says….

Israeli officials told Channel 10 on Friday that they are convinced the Obama administration has already agreed to most of Iran’s demands in the P5+1 negotiations over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program.

According to unnamed officials, Washington “has given the Iranians 80 percent of what they want” out of the negotiations, Channel 10 is reporting.

Jerusalem officials appear alarmed at the prospect that the United States will soon strike a deal with the Iranian regime that will leave it with a “breakout capacity” of months during which it can gallop toward a nuclear bomb.

The practical significance of the American compromises in the talks is that Iran will be permitted to keep over 7,000 centrifuges, enough for the Iranians to produce enough enriched material to sprint toward the bomb within a matter of months.

These developments have apparently fueled Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s sense of urgency in traveling to Washington and addressing Congress in hopes of lobbying American lawmakers to pass tougher sanctions against the Islamic Republic. (Read more about the nuclear demands HERE)

By Tony Lee. Thousands of illegal immigrants will remain in the United States for at least five more years after the Justice Department moved their deportation hearings to 2019–at the earliest.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the Department of Justice “has begun sending out notices to thousands of immigrants awaiting hearings that their cases will be pushed back nearly five years,” and “began notifying employees in the immigration court system last week that nonpriority cases were being bumped off the court docket and would get a Nov. 29, 2019, court date, which happens to be Black Friday.”

The Journal notes that the 2019 date is “more of a bureaucratic placeholder than an actual plan to hear a flood of cases that day,” which means the hearings could be moved to an even later date in the future.

“Thousands” if not “tens of thousands” illegal immigrants who are “nonpriority cases” and are “living freely” in the United States will reportedly have their hearings delayed. (Read more from “Obama Delays Deportation Hearings” HERE)

County Sheriff: Anything Short Of Murder and Rape Won’t Get You Deported

By Ian Hanchett. Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke (D) said that “anything short of murder and rape” is considered a low-level offense for illegal immigrants and will likely not result in deportation on Friday’s “Laura Ingraham Show.”

“When you put that population [criminal aliens] on top of what we’re already dealing with with people who are legally in the United States and involved in crime, it just compounds our problems. One of the most difficult challenges in dealing with criminal aliens is who are they, every time they get arrested, they give you a different name and you look and each one of them comes with 10, 12, 15 aliases and so just identifying them becomes problematic, but once they’re involved in crime, and I know what the left likes to say that low-level offenders shouldn’t be deported. Well, they have dropped the standard to now where burglary and strong-armed robbery are considered low-level offenses, anything short of murder and rape, they say ‘OK, yeah, murder maybe we should deport them,’ I go ‘no, burglary, strong-armed robbery, drug trafficking, drunk driving…all of those things should be included’” he stated. Does Europe Have No-go Zones?

(danielpipes.org) - Comments by Steven Emerson on Fox News have prompted a heated debate over whether predominantly Muslim "no-go" zones exist in Europe. On Jan. 11, Emerson said they "exist throughout Europe … they're places where the governments like France, Britain, Sweden, Germany don't exercise any sovereignty. .. you basically have zones where Shariah courts were set up, where Muslim density is very intense, where the police don't go in, and where it's basically a separate country almost, a country within a country."

Although Emerson, whom I admire for his moral courage and investigative skills, immediately apologized for his "terrible error" of saying that cities like Birmingham, England, "are totally Muslim where non-Muslims just simply don't go," he did not address the larger question of whether no-go zones, in fact, do "exist throughout Europe" and are places where governments "don't exercise any sovereignty."

Is he right about this?

In a 2006 weblog entry, I called Muslim enclaves in Europe no-go zones as a non-euphemistic equivalent for the French phrase Zones Urbaines Sensibles, or Sensitive Urban Zones. No-go zones subsequently became standard in English to describe Muslim-majority areas in West Europe.

After spending time in the banlieues (suburbs) of Paris in January 2013, as well as in their counterparts in Athens, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Malmö, and Stockholm, however, I have had second thoughts. I found that those areas "are not full-fledged no-go zones" --- meaning places where the government had lost control of territory. No war lords dominate; Shari'a is not the law of the land. I expressed regret back then for having used the term no-go zones.

So, what are these places? A unique and as-yet un-named mix.

On the one hand, West European states can intervene anywhere and at any time in their sovereign territory. As the shoot-out in Verviers and the subsequent raids in Belgium suggest, their overwhelming advantage in force – including military, intelligence, and police – means they have not ceded control.

On the other hand, governments often choose not to impose their will on Muslim-majority areas, allowing them considerable autonomy, including in some cases the Shariah courts that Emerson mentioned. Alcohol and pork are effectively banned in these districts, polygamy and burqas commonplace, police enter only warily and in force, and Muslims get away with offences illegal for the rest of population.

The Rotherham, England, child sex scandal offers a powerful example. An official inquiry found that for sixteen years, 1997-2013, a ring of Muslim men sexually exploited – through abduction, rape, gang rape, trafficking, prostitution, torture – at least 1,400 non-Muslim girls as young as 11. The police received voluminous complaints from the girls' parents but did nothing; they could have acted, but chose not to.

According to the inquiry, "the Police gave no priority to CSE [child sexual exploitation], regarding many child victims with contempt and failing to act on their abuse as a crime." Even more alarming, in some cases, "fathers tracked down their daughters and tried to remove them from houses where they were being abused, only to be arrested themselves when police were called to the scene." Worse, the girls "were arrested for offences such as breach of the peace or being drunk and disorderly, with no action taken against the perpetrators of rape and sexual assault against children."

Another example, also British, was the so-called Operation Trojan Horse that flourished from 2007 until 2014, in which (again, according to an official inquiry), a group of school functionaries developed "a strategy to take over a number of schools in Birmingham and run them on strict Islamic principles."

What does one call Rotherham and Birmingham? They are not no-go zones, neither in terms of geography or sovereignty. This is where we – Emerson, others (such as Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal), and I stumbled. The English language lacks a readily-available term for this. And for good reason: I know of no historical parallel, in which a majority population accepts the customs and even the criminality of a poorer and weaker immigrant community. The world has never seen anything comparable to the contemporary West's blend of achievement, timidity, and guilt, of hugely superior power matched by a deep reluctance to use it.

Instead of no-go zones, I propose semi-autonomous sectors, a term that emphasizes their indistinct and non-geographic nature – thus permitting a more accurate discussion of what is, arguably, West Europe's most acute problem.

Although the Koch brothers support many Republican candidates, they are part of the Libertarian wing of the party. Soros, on the other hand, wants government to control everything and uses socialism to manipulate the distribution of wealth.

For example, according to news outlets, four of the Republican presidential hopefuls — Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Marco Rubio, Sen. Rand Paul and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker—are being introduced by the Koch brothers at a dinner party with rich Republicans organized by the Koch brothers. Yet these same news people ignored Soros’ bankrolling the Ferguson, Missouri, protest movement. According to reports, he provided well over $30 million to established groups responsible for the protests and demonstrations in Ferguson and in other locations throughout the nation, claims the Washington Times and other news sources.

During the Ferguson protests—which had clearly deteriorated into riots and looting of local businesses—activists from groups such as Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (ANSWER), the Drug Policy Alliance (DPA), Make the Road New York, and the Center for Community Change in Washington, benefited from Soros’ contributions beginning in August. The groups went on to organize gatherings and protests there until late December while they expanded their anti-police activities in New York City.

In addition, Soros’ groups such as Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment, the Organization for Black Struggle, and an immigration group called Dream Defenders were involved in establishing yet another offshoot, the Hands Up Coalition, an organization that’s name is a proven fallacy: the black youth, Michael Brown, did not get shot by the white police officer, Darren Weeks, while raising his hands and surrendering.

The Hands Up Coalition allegedly organized blacks and white youths to hold local events in their own cities, towns and college campuses to make the Ferguson shooting victim Michael Brown a martyr nationwide. The Hands Up Coalition and its affiliates are now calling 2015 a “Year of Resistance.” The group and its affiliates are expecting more of the 84-year-old Soros fortune believed to be upwards of $26 billion.

The is also a connection between George Soros and President Barack Obama through the Soros-funded group which helped in managing and funding the Ferguson demonstrations. Soros money is key in financing the grass-roots organization known as the Gamaliel Foundation. A young Barack Obama started his community-organizing career at Gamaliel in Chicago, Illinois.

Besides Soros and Obama, clergy representatives from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor Conference (SDPC), where the controversial “Obama spiritual leader” Rev. Jeremiah Wright is a trustee, also participated in the protests. Wright was Obama’s long-time pastor in Chicago before publicity about his harsh rhetoric, including use of the phrase “God damn America,” caused Obama to distance himself from Wright.

“We want to send a bill to the president that defunds his amnesty program, but also very importantly funds the Department of Homeland Security — the Coast Guard, TSA, the Border Patrol, the ICE teams [Immigration and Customs Enforcement], the Secret Service,” said Hal Rogers, R-Kentucky, the chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, in a statement. “It’s a very dangerous time. I would wonder whether or not the president would have real deep misgivings about not signing a bill funding the Department of Homeland Security.”

Meanshile, Pelosi and the far-left wing of the Democratic Party are threatening Americans saying that the “immigration amendments will strangle the debate and put the nation’s security at risk.” But numerous law enforcement officials claim that the Democrats couldn’t care less about security. For example, a border agent leaked documents to a conservative web site, that revealed the Department of Homeland Security has decided that the majority of illegal aliens crossing U.S. borders cannot be detained or deported without approval from top officials in Washington. “The documents do not specifically order agents to let illegal immigrants pass freely into the United States, the source said. But the rules “clearly” say “don’t waste your time because the alien will not be put into detention, sent back or deported,”Newsmax reported.

Was the rush to close Gitmo part of the deal with Castro?

Just a thought, but do you think maybe Obama and Company may be thinking if part of the deal to normalization of diplomatic ties with Cuba, is to turn over Gitmo?

The timing of Rauls mentioning this, at this time, raises a couple of serious questions.

If it was preplanned, it would explain the rush to empty the facility of prisoners before turning it over. And the insistence in transferring them to the US for trial. Because Castro doesn't want them along with the deal.

Or if the facility can't be closed by any other means, it would force the closure, and transfer of prisoners, to meet Obama's desire to get them back into the battle field before he leaves office.

Obama’s Manufactured Budget Breakthrough

The president so adept at capitalizing on every crisis has called the “Republican” sequestration a “manufactured crisis” – a crisis, by the way, that was his idea. Barack Obama will present his proposed budget to Congress Monday. In it, he attempts to undo the gains made in cutting spending growth. Yet in a Huffington Post blog entry, the president wrote, “I’m proud that since I took office, we’ve experienced the fastest period of sustained deficit reduction since the end of World War II. … Of course, to make these common-sense investments in our future without adding to our deficits, we need to turn the page on the manufactured crises that have defined the debates over our budget in recent years.” As usual, Obama doesn’t tell the complete truth. The deficit quadrupled during Obama’s first months in office and he has spent six years paring it down. Even now, the deficit is higher than pre-Obama levels. And that’s just enough for Obama to create a manufactured breakthrough. More…

Boehner: GOP Will Present ObamaCare Alternatives

House Speaker John Boehner announced another vote to repeal ObamaCare. Obviously, this will go nowhere beyond the House – it will likely die in the Senate despite Republican control – but, as Boehner explained, “We have 47 new members of Congress on the Republican side who have never had the chance to cast their vote to repeal ObamaCare.” House Republicans, he added, are also working on alternatives: “Three committee chairmen who have jurisdiction over the health care policy in our country … are working together to craft what we believe would be a better approach with regard to health care for the American people than ObamaCare. … There will be an alternative, and you’ll get to see it.” The three chairmen are Fred Upton (Energy and Commerce), Paul Ryan (Ways and Means) and John Kline (Education and the Workforce). Details remain to be seen, but Republicans also know an alternative won’t become law as long as Barack Obama occupies the Oval Office.

Despite Veto Threat, Senate Approves Keystone

In a 62-36 vote, the Senate sent a bill authorizing the Keystone XL pipeline to the House. Nine Democrats voted for the pipeline, but that still leaves the legislation five votes shy of overriding a promised presidential veto. The bill came with amendments benefitting the Left, including one in which 98 senators declared climate change is happening. “I’d like to congratulate Sen. [Mitch] McConnell for passing this bill in an open, inclusive and bipartisan way,” House Speaker John Boehner said. “After dropping his scheme to tax middle-class college savings, we hope President Obama will now drop his threat to veto this common-sense bill that would strengthen our energy security and create thousands and thousands of new, good-paying American jobs.” But the White House will unlikely do so. As political analyst George Will wryly observed, “America built the Empire State Building, then the world’s tallest office building, in 410 days during the Depression. We built the Pentagon, still the world’s largest low-rise office building, in 16 months while waging a war across two oceans. Keystone has been studied for more than six years. No interference whatsoever.” That’s right: Jeremy Bird, the man who served as Obama’s national campaign director, and who leveraged social media and big data to send Obama to the White House, was hired by a group called OneVoice to inject U.S. campaign influence into the Israeli election. The White House War on Semantics

Eric Schultz opened up a can of worms when answering a question from ABC’s Jonathan Karl at Wednesday’s White House press briefing. Schultz, the White House deputy press secretary, gave a meandering answer on Jordan’s willingness to trade a convicted terrorist to ISIL for one of its captured pilots, noting that the United States doesn’t pay ransom to or negotiate with terrorists. Except when Barack Obama wants to.

Karl then asked, “[Y]ou say the United States government does not give in to demands [and] does not pay ransom. But how is what the Jordanians are talking about doing any different than what the United States did to get the release of [Bowe] Bergdahl – the releasing prisoners held at Guantanamo Bay to the Taliban, which is clearly a terrorist organization?”

Schultz stammered, “As you know, this was highly discussed at the time. And prisoner swaps are a traditional, end-of-conflict interaction that happens. As the war in Afghanistan wound down, we felt like it was the appropriate thing to do. The president’s bedrock commitment as commander in chief is to leave no man or woman behind.” (Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Glen Doherty, Sean Smith and Ty Woods were unavailable for comment.)

Pressed for clarification, Schultz added, “I’d also point out that the Taliban is an armed insurgency; ISIL is a terrorist group. So we don’t make concessions to terrorist groups.”

The Taliban must be wondering what it has to do to earn the “terrorist” label. Apparently, the massacre of more than 130 school children in Pakistan last month wasn’t enough to impress the Obama administration. Nor was the Taliban’s role in killing three American contractors in Kabul this week.

Did we mention that one of the Taliban Five is seeking to return to the battlefield?

Leaving aside the legal questions about the five-for-one swap for a deserter, few believe Schultz’s hair-splitting contrast between the Taliban and ISIL. And, by the way, it’s no mean feat for ISIL to be promoted from the junior varsity to a terrorist group with whom we’re not willing to negotiate – yet.

When Schultz’s boss, Press Secretary Josh Earnest, tried to clarify the remarks, they became even muddier. It was the groups' scope of effort, explained Earnest, because “the Taliban’s objectives are focused specifically on Afghanistan” while ISIL and al-Qaida have a much larger agenda. That’s small consolation for the American families who lost loved ones fighting the Taliban’s terrorist regime in Afghanistan, particularly as Obama negotiates his foolish withdrawal from that country. The assertion also contradicts the Treasury Department’s consideration of the Taliban as terrorists for the purpose of economic sanctions.

In either case, we’d venture to guess that soon the Taliban will make peace with and provide safe haven for their ISIL brethren, regardless of what the White House press office wants to call it.

The problem with Obama’s foreign policy is that everything is a domestic political calculation. And, therefore, the fruit of Obama’s meandering foreign policy is quite rotten.

Cuban Demands No Doubt Please Obama

Cuban dictator Raul Castro announced an extensive list of demands this week in order to re-establish diplomatic relations with the United States. Under normal circumstances this would constitute a deal breaker for the American government. Unfortunately, circumstances are far from normal with Barack Obama at the helm of American foreign policy.

Castro ticked off a whole grocery list of items at a Community of Latin American and Caribbean States meeting Wednesday that he claims are necessary for normalized relations. This list includes a complete lifting of the economic embargo, compensation for economic damage caused by the decades-long embargo, an end to U.S. support of Cuban dissidents, Cuba’s removal from the U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism, an end to anti-Castro radio and television broadcast transmissions, and the return of Guantanamo Bay to the Cuban government.

As for what the U.S. is supposed to receive in return for all this, well, that would be basically nothing. But Obama would get to claim that he opened Cuba, a hollow victory that would nevertheless occupy an entire wing in his future presidential library.

Obama announced his intention to re-establish diplomatic relations with the Communist regime on Dec. 17. His motivations were two-fold, both equally self-serving. First, he was eager to wash away the embarrassment of the complete rejection of his agenda in the midterms, and second, he wanted something, anything that historians could point to as a major accomplishment of his time in the Oval Office.

In the context of this ongoing dialogue, Castro’s recent demands would supposedly constitute the next step toward normalization. But Raul, like his older brother Fidel, who surfaced long enough to give his blessing to the talks while expressing distrust of the U.S., recognizes that Obama is motivated by love of self far more than he is by love of country. And the Castro brothers will play that to their advantage.

It’s likely why Castro floated such a bold list of demands. He has already stated that he will take whatever the U.S. gives him, but there are no plans whatsoever to change Cuba’s current system of government.

Let’s set aside the fact that Obama cannot make good on many of Castro’s demands without congressional approval. (Though his presidency is littered with examples of his lack of concern for Congress or constitutional process.) There are a number of reasons he should not honor a single one of Castro’s demands. However, these demands fit nicely into Obama’s plans for his own legacy. Take for instance his long-stated goal of closing the terrorist holding facility at Guantanamo Bay. No doubt he can’t wait to use relations with Cuba as another excuse for abandoning the territory.

But the naval station at Guantanamo isn’t just a holdout of American territory from a bygone era. It’s a strategic point of operations the U.S. military has used since the Spanish-American War. It has served as a base of operations for U.S. military action against terrorists in the Western Hemisphere. And it held strategic importance on many occasions throughout the Cold War, particularly during the Cuban Missile Crisis, during which the Castro regime was complicit in nearly starting a nuclear war on its own soil.

Obama chooses not to remember any of that. He also chooses to ignore that his offer of normalized relations between the U.S. and Cuba comes with no obligations or sacrifice on the part of the Castro government. Obama is chasing legacy, come what may.

On Dec. 9, members of the Islamic Center of Twin Falls applied for a special use permit to expand and erect a new building on their site at 455 Addison Ave. The permit was approved the same day.

The next step is to get a building permit. But the nonprofit might need two or three years to raise $200,000 to build its 2,500-square-foot structure, said Imad Eujayl, center spokesman.

Recent terrorist attacks in Paris, Belgium and elsewhere have drawn much attention to Muslims, and stereotypes abound.

Indeed, two Muslims who frequent the Islamic Center here declined to be identified in the Times-News, saying public knowledge of their religion could hurt their business.

But many others said they feel secure in Twin Falls, a city noted for its Refugee Center and constant influx of foreign immigrants. An estimated 1,000 Muslims live in the Magic Valley.

One of their priorities is to enlighten others about the true meaning of Islam.

Local Muslims want their new center to be a place where people can visit and learn about Islam. If an elementary school is learning about Muslims, the center could serve as an educational site, Eujayl said.

Local Muslims have made presentations at Xavier Charter School, Magic Valley High School and the Magic Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.

Eujayl was a guest speaker at the Magic Valley Arts Council in 2013, addressing cultural diversity in the community and Islam.

“They could learn proper lessons of Islam, not from the media, but from a Muslim,” Eujayl said.

For the past two years, local Bosnian Muslims have gathered to remember more than 8,000 of their countrymen massacred by the Serbs at Srebrenica in 1995. Their remembrance of the genocide is held in a strip mall meeting room off Filer Avenue. The new Islamic Center will hold such events once it is built, Eujayl said.

Eujayl, who was born and raised in Al-Jazeera, Sudan, moved to the U.S. in 1999 and became a citizen in 2005. He has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agri-science from the University of Al-Jazeera-Sudan and a Ph.D in plant molecular genetics from the University of Helsinki-Finland. Eujayl works in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s research center in Kimberly.

You should know at the outset that the refugee program in Idaho is a Wilson-Fish program which means the state of Idaho government itself (including elected officials) have absolutely no say in the program.
In truth, no states can veto anything the feds and their contractors do (I don’t know any that have tried!), it’s just in Wilson-Fish states the secrecy surrounding resettlement is even worse. Refugee resettlement is a complete abrogation of State’s rights under the US Constitution, but has never been challenged as far as we know.

The Worst Form of Inequality

I believe the biggest threat to western democracies today comes not only from Islam’s traditions of intolerance and political violence and anti-Western sentiment, but also from those apologists and pluralists, both religious and political, who are making every effort to convince us that this threat—these egregious customs—were never foreign to our North American traditions of tolerance and rule of law; as though Islam, with its ever-present political and religious maelstroms, is applicable to our democratic way of life.

One premise being applied vigorously is that, simply because western countries are co-ordinating with Islamic governments in fighting “Islamist” terrorism, it cannot be said that terrorism (read: jihad) originates from basic Islam or that the Muslim demographic is not become an obtrusive element in western societies. But as Efraim Karsh lucidly reminds us, “Political cooperation, however, has not meant accepting Western doctrines or values, as the events of September 11, 2001, amply demonstrate. Contrary to widespread assumptions, these attacks, and for that matter Arab and Muslim anti-Americanism, have little to do with US international behavior or its Middle Eastern policy. If, today, America is reviled in the Muslim world, it is not because of its specific policies but because, as the preeminent world power, it blocks the final realization of this same age-old dream of regaining the lost glory of the caliphate. As such, it is a natural target for aggression. Osama bin Laden and other Islamists’ war is not against America per se, but is rather the most recent manifestation of millenarian jihad for a universal Islamic empire (or umma).” Or as Paul Wolfowitz (US Deputy Secretary of Defence 2001-2005) once said of Afghanistan, “It’s generally right not to put ourselves in the business of trying to govern a very foreign country for which we had neither the cultural nor linguistic capacity to do it….it’s beyond our competence.” If we cannot govern such a “very foreign country” from a distance, how then can we hope to govern those very same peoples who, as immigrants to western democracies, bring with them the same contumacious and sectarian religious traditions that rendered them ungovernable in those Islamic countries of their birth? This is the potentially dangerous imbroglio being wilfully and shamelessly obfuscated daily by our media and politicians, the former only interested in selling newspapers, and the later only interested in selling themselves.

If Islam and its egregious manifestations of violence and political aggression (jihad) were not a problem, why is Europe now the scene of massive demonstrations against “Islamization” of the continent? If Islam is good, if “jihad” is not really the sore point of contemporary Islam, why are these demonstrations taking place? Could it be that Europeans are just simply bad and they’ve got it all wrong and Islam is intrinsically good? But why are terrorism and jihad always the inexplicit elements of any discussion about Islam today? The fact that we are constantly advised and reassured (usually by those far removed from even the periphery of these problems) that western democracies have nothing to worry about Islam the religion, that jihad and “creeping sharia” are not really intrinsic to its essential message should be understood as an indirect admission of these perilous contingencies. Or as Thomas Friedman said recently in the New York Times, “It is not good for us or the Muslim world to pretend that this spreading of jihadist violence isn’t coming out of their faith community.”

Raphael Israeli asks what are by now both pressing and proverbial questions: “If this horror [9/11] has nothing to do with normative Islam, as we often hear it said, do we find in any other contemporary faith or system of belief any individual or organization which has launched or made common cause with a scheme of this scope and of this horrendous cruelty and inhumanity?…Why is it that most armed conflicts in the world today, and most acts of terrorism throughout the globe, are caused by, or connected to, Islam of one brand or another?…What is in fundamentalist Islam that is so bellicose and uncompromising as to sanction conflict, terrorism and ‘suicide bombing’?” And my question is: Why is every honest criticism of Islam and general Muslim behaviour today misconstrued or translated as the mad leanings of an “Islamophobe”? Irshad Manji has advised her fellow Muslims that when they become “ultra-defensive” about uncomfortable questions regarding their faith, the non-Muslim world will think they have something to hide.

Rudyard Kipling wrote, “If you hit a pony over the nose at the outset of your acquaintance, he may not love you but he will take a deep interest in your movements ever afterwards.” Well, the West has been hit “over the nose” numerous times by now, and very forcefully—twice at the World Trade Centre in New York City for starters. Therefore, we are taking a deep interest in where Islam the religion is going from this point on, in what direction it is travelling. We have many questions the Muslim world, here and abroad, seem to be in the habit of dismissing out of hand. But we will not be ignored. We want the “umma” to acknowledge the fact that, even though the three major religions of the world are ancient, they are not at all equal. I do not see Christians today murdering each other because of theological differences. I do not see Jews today blowing themselves up in restaurants in Germany and Russia because of pogroms that took place long ago. I do read about Muslims blowing up trains in Madrid in 2004 because of the lost “Muslim cultural domain” of Al-Andalus (now Andalusia). I’ve seen caricatures, drawn by Muslim cartoonists, of Jews depicted as rats and Nazis, as published in modern newspapers in just about every Islamic country in the Middle East, without Jews by the thousands going stark raving mad and burning cars and destroying foreign embassies. Only Muslims do this, and the vast majority of them will never be condemned by the media and politicians as being “extremists” or “fundamentalists”.

To equate Islam with Judaism or Christianity, therefore, is the worst form of inequality. More than that, it is grossly imprudent. We are condoning an aggressively cruel, and willfully shameless, ideology whose essential goals are entirely imperialistic, for territorial gain and for religious preponderance. Who doesn’t see this is neither blind nor foolish, but probably complicit in this aggression.

Take this seriously, folks. This is one of the many subtle tactics used by the Islamic civilization jihadists of the Muslim Brotherhood/CAIR to gradually introduce sharia law to America.

Allowing just anyone into your country who claims to be an ‘asylum seeker’ or refugee with no background check, as is the current EU policy, is “intellectual terrorism” at its most dangerous by the PC brigades.
