In a recent 2-year study by George Barna, it was found that while nearly 90% of all American pastors believe that the Bible provides specific answers to the myriad issues challenging us today, only 10% say they will address those issues from the pulpit.
According to the study, the reason so many refuse to openly address these issues from the pulpit is to avoid "controversy", thus ensuring a "successful church".
Wow!
In the study, the vast majority of pastors said they determined "success" in five ways: attendance; donations; number of programs; number of staff; and, yes, square footage!
Inspiring and reassuring, huh?
My recent experience with my own Catholic parish in Rochester, NY seems to validate Barna's findings. Last week, I formally requested that the parish promote a strictly non-partisan "Voter Registration Sunday" in September. While exiting services, a manned table in the vestibule would be set up to assist interested parishioners to register to vote. Only a brief announcement from the pulpit and a small bulletin insert would inform parishioners of this service. However, in a follow-up meeting with the pastor the initiative was categorically rejected. Why? Such an event on parish grounds would be in violation of diocesan policy! So much for civic responsibility, principle, courage of one's religious convictions and fearless adherence to Christian values and Biblical teachings. So much too for patriotism.
Shortly before this, I approached a very large Baptist church in the same area with the same request and the pastor immediately agreed.
Thus, while there are exceptions to the rule, there clearly appear to be more "CEO-type pastors" out there than committed God-fearing religious ones. Judging from the study's conclusions and my own experience, far too many church leaders seem to value their lofty position in the community, their creature comforts and "square footage" more than their religious calling to shepherd their flocks. Obviously, elitism comes in many forms, or so it appears.
Is it any wonder it's been such a tortuously uphill fight for patriots and Christians to restore constitutional order and those bedrock traditional American values that once made America so exceptional? If, for whatever reason, our churches betray their calling and, in turn, their flocks, on whom CAN we count? Note: our Founders warned that if we lose our Christian moorings and our traditional values, if we forsake our civic responsibilities, we will irretrievably lose our Republic.
Finally, in response to this study, a Reverend Chuck Baldwin is quoted as saying that "it is time for Christians to acknowledge that these ministers are not pastors: they are CEOs. They are not Bible teachers: they are performers. They are not shepherds: they are hirelings. It is also time for Christians to be honest with themselves: do they want a pastor who desires to be faithful to the Scriptures, or do they want a pastor who is simply trying to be "successful".
Yet again, the cause for the corruption of our leaders, both pastoral and secular alike, is staring boldly back at us from the mirror before us. By our silence and compliance, we alone are the reason for our country's disintegration.

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to mourn the passing of common sense and decency and truth in the “black community.” Oh, it’s been on life support for some time now but, the plug has been pulled…in Ferguson Missouri.
It was, perhaps, THE most disgusting display of thug martyrdom whipped up by the racist propaganda machine yet.
Mike Brown is dead…long live thug culture.
Brown was killed on August 9th by a cop…a white cop…in the middle of a street in Ferguson Missouri and finally, after 3 autopsies and two weeks of rioting, looting, arson, shootings and various acts of mayhem carried out in his name, given a hero’s funeral on Monday.
Ushers handed out tissues…and water…to the assembled mourners.
Brown’s own cousin, Eric Davis, eulogized the dead thug by calling on the weeping voting bloc to, head to the polls, vote for change and said…“enough of the senseless killings.”

Though skillfully orchestrated to transform convenience store robber Michael Brown into a heroic martyr for civil rights, his funeral was hijacked into becoming a platform for the evil and obscene slander of police and America, perpetrated by the usual deplorable suspects; Al Sharpton, Democrats and the MSM.
Candidly, as a black man, it is easy to feel a little like odd man out; consistently finding myself taking the opposite side than a majority of black Americans. In 2008, over 96% of blacks voted for Obama. I did not.
While I am familiar with black Republican author, orator, and advisor to U.S. Presidents, Booker T. Washington, I only recently came across this amazing quote from him which nailed the Rev. Sharptons and Rev Jacksons of America back in 1911.
“There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs – partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”
Wow! Booker T. Washington had these low life scoundrels figured out way back then. He perfectly described the shameful despicable exploitation of the goodness of the American people on display at the Michael Brown funeral.
Folks, in a nutshell, the Left's selective outrage over Brown's death is about getting paid and ginning up rage-based black voter turnout for Democrats in November. Apparently, the Democrats and MSM only consider a young black male's life of value when it is taken by a white person. Epidemic black on black shootings only get a yawn from Dems and the MSM while sipping their mocha lattes.
Insidiously, irresponsibly and strategically, President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder even threw in their anecdotal two cents, sharing their uncomfortable experiences with police as black males.
Allow me to offer a few of my numerous anecdotal encounters with police.
In the 1970s, my cousin who lived in a low income neighborhood in Baltimore had a nervous breakdown. He held his two toddler sons hostage in his basement, threatening to kill himself and his kids. Shortly after I arrived on the scene, two white cops responded to my cousin's wife's emergency phone call.
In seconds, the young slim fit cop dashed up the ten front steps into the house. He then waited for his partner's instructions. His much older obese partner moved a bit slower. After negotiating the steps, he waddled to the open basement door.
Upon catching his breath, with wisdom, experience and compassion, the seasoned police officer talked my cousin out of the basement. “C'mon son, I know you're hurtin'. But, you don't wanna do this.”
Fearful for my cousin's life, I was extremely relieved. The incident totally contradicted what my militant black college associates said to expect from white “pigs”; shoot the n***** and ask questions later.
On another occasion, my wife and I were surrounded by police cars at a traffic light and ordered out of our car. A bank robbery had just taken place. The perpetrators were an interracial couple driving a car very similar to ours. Mary and I were calm and cooperative. Upon checking us out, the police apologized for the inconvenience and were quickly on their way.
There were other opportunities for an over zealous or racist cop to act like a jerk; it never happened.
Am I saying that bad cops do not exist? Of course, not. Man is a fallen sinful creature. Consequently, bad players show up in every area of the human experience; bad cops, priests, teachers and so on. Jesus had a 12 man crew. One was a bad apple.
I am saying that the Left's narrative that police departments across America are dens of “institutional police brutality” is hogwash; as bogus as their mythical “Republican war on women”. Neither are white cops using black boys for target practice. According to FBI stats, out of 12 million yearly arrests, only 400 resulted in fatal shootings; many justified.
Another disgusting aspect of the Left's political exploitation of Brown's death is the cruel crucifixion of Officer Darren Wilson without a trial.
Several years ago, I visited a buddy at work at the police station. He was a black veteran Baltimore City police officer and talented musician; a gentle giant. On the occasion of my visit, he was working lock up. My friend greeted me with his signature big smile and easygoing personality. During my visit, I witnessed his personality fluidly flow between easygoing musician to tough cop mode when dealing with criminals and prisoners.
He later explained that policing 101 requires that you always take control of the situation; less you risk getting caught off guard and stabbed in the back by a suspect's weepy old gray-haired mom or a girlfriend.
People who are second guessing and criticizing Officer Wilson for not tazing or shooting Brown in a non fatal area of his body are just plain clueless.
I wish to offer my sincere heartfelt, thanks, prayers and support to all of our brave men and women who protect and serve us; police, troops, firefighters, veterans and border parole agents. God bless.

A cowboy named Bud was overseeing his herd in a remote pasture in Texas when suddenly a brand-new BMW advanced toward him out of a cloud of dust.
The driver, a young man in a Brioni® suit, Gucci® shoes, RayBan® sunglasses and YSL® tie, leaned out the window and asked the cowboy, "If I tell you exactly how many cows and calves you have in your herd, Will you give me a calf?"
Bud looks at the man, obviously a yuppie, then looks at his peacefully grazing herd and calmly answers, "Sure, Why not?"
The yuppie parks his car, whips out his Dell® netbook computer, connects it to his Apple iPhone4S®, and surfs to a NASA page on the Internet, where he calls up a GPS satellite to get an exact fix on his location which he then feeds to another NASA satellite that scans the area in an ultra-high-resolution photo.
The young man then opens the digital photo in Adobe Photoshop® and exports it to an image processing facility in Hamburg, Germany.
Within seconds, he receives an email on his Palm Pilot® that the image has been processed and the data stored. He then accesses an MS-SQL® database through an ODBC connected Excel® spreadsheet with email on his Blackberry® and, after a few minutes, receives a response.
Finally, he prints out a full-color, 15-page report on his hi-tech, miniaturized HP LaserJet® printer, turns to the cowboy and says, "You have exactly 1,586 cows and calves."
"That's right. Well, I guess you can take one of 'em," says Bud.
He watches the young man select one of the animals and looks on with amusement as the young man stuffs it into the trunk of his car.
Then Bud says to the young man, "Hey, if I can tell you exactly what your business is, will you give me back my animal?"
The young man thinks about it for a second and then says, “Okay, why not?"
"You're a U.S. Congressman," says Bud.
"Wow! That's correct," says the yuppie, "but how did you guess that?"
"No guessing required." answered the cowboy. "You showed up here even though nobody called you; you want to get paid for an answer I already knew, to a question I never asked. You used millions of dollars worth of equipment trying to show me how much smarter than me you are; and you don't know a thing about how working people make a living - or about cattle, for that matter. This is a herd of sheep." now give me back my dog.

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin Dempsey, has backtracked on his previously issued statement that we must take out ISIS in Syria, and now says that he will NOT recommend U.S. military airstrikes against ISIS in Syria until he determines that they have become a direct threat to the U.S.
Uh…excuse me but didn’t Dempsey just sit alongside Defense Secretary…and known muslim sympathizer…Chuck Hagel a few short days ago in a joint press briefing, and agree with Hagel when he said ISIS is an “imminent threat to every interest we have” and that ISIS is “beyond anything that we’ve seen.” Yeah…he did.
And didn’t both he and Hagel say that ISIS must also be defeated in Syria as well as Iraq. Yeah… he did.
Gee I wonder what changed his mind…do the words ‘Barack HUSSEIN Obama’ come to mind…they sure do for us. Hey, we wonder if they ‘talked’ over one of Obama’s recent games of golf…or if Obama has ‘something’ on Dempsey.
Sorry folks but it’s just too damn convenient that now Dempsey…who was all gung-ho about taking out ISIS in Syria just a few short days ago…suddenly echoes Obama’s words by saying that he believes ISIS is more of a ‘regional threat’ and is NOT currently plotting or planning attacks against the U.S. or Europe. Guess he hasn’t looked at the ISIS conquest maps for starters or all the Iraqi heads rolling for finishers, and thrown in the middle is all ISIS’ threats to attack the U.S. done through social and conventional media.

We care, because America will be a better country when all of its children are well educated.
Fellow Texans, we got a challenge that only we as parents can make it a reality. I see an American that needs to be connected by a mutual interest, “our children’s future”. We are a multicultural state divided by race and nationality, with our own agenda and focus only on our own interest; now is the time to change and look toward our future and the economic and welfare of our children.
This is a wakeup call, our family and children must become our first priority. They are the future of our country and it’s up to us to make sure they get an education and the moral principles to get our country out of this mess and on the path of freedom and prosperity.
The U.S. Department of education predicts that this fall, for the first time in American history, there will be more minority students combined than white students in schools. But while Hispanic children make up a large portion of the minority students in the U.S., the problem lies in the fact that many of them don't graduate from high school, 25 percent fail to graduate.
Our job is to change this trend and make history in America. The future of the whole country, depends on our children being educated and give them the equal opportunity to become the best they can be.
We as parents must joined forces to address this problem, as a community it is in our best interest to stand as one in the promotion of education for our children, all parents should be more involved in their child’s education and on a day to day basis review the work done and monitor your child progress.
The strategy for progress by education.
1-Teacher-Parents partnership. The goal is for teachers and parents to work together to make sure the student is getting to curriculum standard and then raise the standard as they progress.
2-Parents and the church can work on programs to help students that need help, tutoring, sports, social events and the development of moral character and principles, Pastors should also speak about education and the congregation should pray for the progress on the education of students. The church and the parents can be a great impact in helping students perform better in the school.
3-Community leaders and the school. Promote incentives for students to focus on education and future jobs opportunities. Schedule talks that will benefit students and promote their education.
4-Business community and the schools. Promote education to help students succeed in the classroom. Sponsor schools on sports, camping, fishing and most important scholarships.
5-News media and the schools. Promote the importance of education and organize fund drives for scholarship through sport events and 4K runs.
6-Politics and the schools. Get politics out of the education of our children’s, common core is toxic; this Federal initiative that push for our country to adopt a set of clear college- and career-ready standards for kindergarten through 12th grade in English language arts/literacy and mathematics is political control on education. Texas stands on our right to self-determination and our constitutional rights.

We are now just two short months away from an election which will set the course for the next two years. Midterm elections historically have much lower voter turnout than do general elections and that is exactly why, in this particular election, we need to come out to the polls.
Numbers are everything.
If your chosen candidate didn’t win his or her primary…get over it and vote for whoever is on the ballot with an “R” behind their name. It may be a RINO, an establishment GOP candidate or someone with whom you don’t agree 50% of the time but believe me, we can hold them accountable much more easily than we can a liberal.
Today, in a nutshell, we’ll be looking at yet another of the REAL issues upon which we MUST focus if we have any hope whatsoever of starting to turn this ship around…
The border and our national security.
Right now…not because of any social issue…not because of any particular religious affiliation…we have neither a southern border not national security because of it.
It is directly because of the policies of the current LIBERAL regime and the liberal ideology…

The question of Barack Obama’s eligibility to occupy the Oval Office under the Constitution’s “natural born”citizen requirement is once again being appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, which has refused to hear a number of previous cases. Judges have ruled Obama’s eligibility is a political question that is not for the courts to decide. They have argued the plaintiffs didn’t have “standing,” the
requirement that they have sustained or will sustain direct injury or harm that can be redressed by a court.
Now, however, a plaintiff has surfaced who claims he has suffered a specific and individual injury, the $90 he is seeking to have returned by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The president’s eligibility is beingquestioned in a friend-of-the-court brief submitted to the U.S. Supreme Court by the constitutional experts at William J. Olson, P.C. and the United States Justice Foundation.
They are asking the high court to take up the case of Christopher John Rudy, a registered patent attorney who paid to the Patent and Trademark Office “fee increases” totaling $90 under the America Invents Act, “purportedly enacted into law in September 2011 by Congress and the president.” Rudy sued for a refund “on the ground that the AIA was invalid, having been signed into law by Barack Obama, a person who, was not a ‘natural born citizen,’ and thus, was
ineligible to hold the office of president of the United States.”
The courts rejected his claim, insisting they had no authority to look into Obama’s eligibility. The law firms’ brief explained Rudy’s argument. “Until now, the question of President Obama’s qualifications as a ‘natural born citizen’ has been dodged by the judiciary because those challenging his eligibility had not suffered any personal injury compensable by a court – and thus lacked ‘legal’ standing. There is no such barrier in this case because the patent
attorney suffered an out-of-pocket loss of $90 because of the new law signed by President Obama.”
No name calling, no hatred, no political agenda. This pilot hit the nail right on the head in his open letter.
A newspaper stated that some Muslim doctor is saying we are profiling him because he has been checked three times while getting on an airplane.

I've been trying to say this since 911, but you worry me. I wish you
didn't. I wish when I walked down the streets of this country that I
love, that your color and culture still blended with the beautiful
human landscape we enjoy in this country. But you don't blend in
anymore. I notice you, and it worries me.
I notice you because I can't help it anymore. People from your
homelands, professing to be Muslims, have been attacking and killing
my fellow citizens and our friends for more than 20 years now. I
don't fully understand their grievances and hate, but I know that
nothing can justify the inhumanity of their attacks.
On September 11, ARAB-MUSLIMS hijacked four jetliners in my country.
They cut the throats of women in front of children and brutally
stabbed to death others. They took control of those planes and
crashed them into buildings, killing thousands of proud fathers,
loving sons, wise grandparents, elegant daughters, best friends,
favorite coaches, fearless public servants, and children's mothers.
The Palestinians celebrated, the Iraqis were overjoyed as was most of
the Arab world. So, I notice you now. I don't want to be worried. I
don't want to be consumed by the same rage, hate and prejudice that
has destroyed the soul of these terrorists. But I need your help. As
a rational American, trying to protect my country and family in an
irrational and unsafe world, I must know how to tell the difference
between you, and the Arab/Muslim terrorist.
How do I differentiate between the true Arab/Muslim Americans and the
Arab/Muslim terrorists in our communities who are attending our
schools, enjoying our parks, and living in OUR communities under the
protection of OUR constitution, while they plot the next attack that
will slaughter MORE of the same good neighbors and children?
The events of September 11 changed the answer... It is not MY
responsibility to determine which of you embraces our great country,
with ALL of its religions, with ALL of its different citizens, with
all of its faults. It is time for every Arab/Muslim in this country
to determine it for me.
I want to know, I DEMAND to know and I have a right to know, whether
or not you love America..... Do you pledge allegiance to its flag?
Do you proudly display it in front of your house, or on your car? Do
you pray in your many daily prayers that Allah will bless this nation;
that He will protect it and let it prosper? Or do you pray that Allah
with destroy it in one of your Jihads? Are you thankful for the
freedom that this nation affords? A freedom that was paid for by the
blood of hundreds of thousands of patriots who gave their lives for
this country? Are you willing to preserve this freedom by also paying
the ultimate sacrifice? Do you love America?? If this is your
commitment, then I need YOU to start letting ME know about it
Your Muslim leaders in this nation should be flooding the media at
this time with hard facts on your faith, and what hard actions YOU are
taking as a community and as a religion to protect the United States
of America. Please, no more benign overtures of regret for the death
of the innocent, because I worry about who you regard as innocent....
No more benign overtures of condemnation for the unprovoked attacks,
because I worry about what is unprovoked to you. I am not interested
in any more sympathy; I am interested only in action. What will you
do for America - our great country - at this time of
crisis, at this time of war?
I want to see Arab-Muslims waving the AMERICAN flag in the streets. I
want to hear you chanting 'Allah Bless America'. I want to see young
Arab/Muslim men enlisting in the military. I want to see a commitment
of money, time and emotion to the victims of this butchering and to
this nation as a whole.
The FBI has a list of over 400 people they want to talk to regarding
the WTC attack. Many of these people live and socialize right now in
Muslim communities. You know them. You know where they are. Hand
them over to us, NOW! But I have seen little even approaching this
sort of action. Instead I have seen an already closed and secretive
community close even tighter. You have disappeared from the streets.
You have posted armed security guards at your facilities. You have
threatened lawsuits. You have screamed for protection from reprisals.
The very few Arab/Muslim representatives that HAVE appeared in the
media were defensive and equivocating. They seemed more concerned
with making sure that the United States proves who was responsible
before taking action. They seemed more concerned with protecting
their fellow Muslims from violence directed towards them in the United
States and abroad than they did with supporting our country and
denouncing 'leaders' like Khadafi, Hussein, Farrakhan, and Arafat.
IF the true teachings of Islam proclaim tolerance and peace and love
for all people, then I want chapter and verse from the Koran and
statements from popular Muslim leaders to back it up. What good is it
if the teachings in the Koran are good, pure, and true, when your
'leaders' ARE teaching fanatical interpretations, terrorism, and
intolerance? It matters little how good Islam SHOULD BE if huge
numbers of the world's Muslims interpret the teachings of Mohammed
incorrectly and adhere to a degenerative form of the religion. A form
that has been demonstrated to us over and over again. A form whose
structure is built upon a foundation of violence, death, and suicide.
A form whose members are recruited from the prisons around the world.
A form whose members (some as young as five years old) are seen day
after day, week in and week out, year after year, marching in the
streets around the world, burning effigies of our presidents, burning
the American flag, shooting weapons into the air. A form whose
members convert from a peaceful religion, only to take up arms against
the great United States of America, the country of their birth. A
form whose rules are so twisted, that their traveling members refuse
to show their faces at airport security checkpoints, in the name of
Islam.
We will NEVER allow the attacks of September 11, or any others for
that matter, to take away that which is so precious to us -- our
rights under the greatest constitution in the world. I want to know
where every Arab Muslim in this country stands and I think it is my
right and the right of every true citizen of this country to DEMAND
it. A right paid for by the blood of thousands of my brothers and
sisters who died protecting the very constitution that is protecting
you and your family.
I am pleading with you to let me know. I want you here as my brother,
my neighbor, my friend, as a fellow American...... But there can be no
gray areas or ambivalence regarding your allegiance, and it is up to
YOU, to show ME, where YOU stand. Until then,
"YOU WORRY ME!"

I totally agree with this sentiment. I hope you will forget all about
the 'political correctness' mandate we've had rammed down our throats,
and see if this doesn't ring true in your heart and mind. For Canada,
with all the multiculturalism we've been told is so important.... why
should we not, as Canadians, expect that the millions of new people
immigrating to our country will show their love for our country, their
allegiance to our country, their willingness to obey the laws of our
country, and acceptance that we are a Christian country? Just because
they are able to enjoy exercising their own religion, they should NOT
expect us to be ashamed of ours. They knew Canada was a Christian
country when they came here. Why are we erasing Christianity because
immigrants who are unwilling to adopt our way of life expect us to?
There is just too much insanity in the world, and we have to start
taking a stand. I hope you will forward this, so that
others will feel they are not alone if they are starting to feel the
same.
BRITISH COMMENTS:
At last a clear non-racist example of the concerns that the vast
majority of our Nations population probably share. The pilot's letter
encapsulates all that is fair and just about national
pride and protection of one's national culture. I fear it may be too
late here in UK, BUT we too want our country back in the form that
attracted all these different cultures to come here in the first
place!! In all our conversations with a wide range of friends and
acquaintances we have not met one that disagrees with our own views.
If only we all had the courage of our convictions to pass this on, it
is a statement that should be accepted as the heart-felt feelings of
someone with honest commendable national pride.
